I have one question. They all say, yes. Gregan Speedy

(01:53):
here today. Adler not here? Adler not here? He Uh
he has uh working his way back. He was out
of town. Uh and it's back working his way to us.
So so he will be back. It just wouldn't work out.
So he has the day off, but he will Lord

(02:14):
willing be with us again tomorrow. So that means that
we have have to figure out you know, Speedy has
to deal with the YouTube option. So Tube City be
nice to Speedy today. Uh you know you, Speedy. He's
got a lot going on in there, and we will
get you the show as best we can. Uh. So

(02:35):
we didn't want to go off and leave you and
shut down the tube option without Adler. But Adler does
a lot, so probably not as many bells and whistles.
But here we go. Well, he looks stressed. You are
you already look stressed? Hey, y'all quit saying that you
look stressed. I've watched you. I came in chatty off
the weekend, hadn't seen you for a while. I was
getting on your nerves.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
No, I think there's a difference between stress and just busy.
I mean, because now I'm doing my job inside, so
I'm not I'm not I'm not stressed.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I'm just busy, that's all. Did you hear him say
now I got to do my job at Adlers?

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Well no, no, which means I got double So that's
all I'm saying. So I'm just busy. I'm not stressed though.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
I don't even care. If it's game time, you could
do a watch shot. Just come in here and sit
with us if you want to. I don't care. You
don't have to do all that. Get Greg h why not?

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (03:21):
Look it's crack Run week. So I mean he's fired,
out of focus?

Speaker 6 (03:24):
I know.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, that's right, Greg gets crap run weak it is?
I looved dead leg. Hey, thanks for getting in shape. Hey,
I'm ready. You ready, aren't you? Well? I mean as
ready I'm going to be. I'm not going to never
do very well at it. Yeah. So that's that's this Saturday. Yes,
So if you want to come see Greg and Speedy
in Piedmont, Alabama, right downtown. And if you still want
to look at registering, just just put events and text

(03:47):
it to us and you'll get the link to do
that so you can be there to see them coming up.
This Saturday starts at seven, right, that's right. Okay, But
so Speedy and Greg, you got to get there before that. Yes,
when the race, that's when we start. So before that's
when you hang out. You got a fun run if
you wanted that. It's a little fun run and all
about the fun run. Yeah, well you could, Greg, I'm

(04:08):
sure I'll be better at it, pretty sure. That's for
kids and in the in the those that are laying.
But that's anyway. So now we look forward to it
every years. It's become Wow, I can't remember how many,
So it's fun. Okay, somebody's saying Cowboys and Packers had
a tie? Did they do that when time runs out?

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Yeah, they went into overtime and ended up tying forty
to forty and Michael.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Parkers comes back forty to forty In Ireland. No, that's right, Well,
there was something. There was a game in Ireland. Who
played in Ireland? It was Hyaron Rodgers. Yeah, yeah, and
they won.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
But but no, yeah, the I saw just a just
a little bit of the Packers Cowboys games cut game
because it was, you know, Michael Parsons comes back to Dallas.
That was the big deal, all the pre game hype
on that, and he comes out and then they go
up and the Cowboys can't really do anything right, and

(05:05):
then I kind of went off to bed and turned
it off. But I guess the Cowboys came back, made
a game of it, and then it went it overtime
and they tied.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Forty to forty.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
I believe the Packers kicked the field gold with time
expiring to tie it.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
It seems like when I went to bed it was
I think Cowboys were up sixteen thirteen something like that. Okay,
and I'm not sure what quarter that was.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
Yeah, yeah, so yeah, it was a really good game.
But yeah, they you know, nobody likes to tie.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Nobody think that was possible. I know, I didn't even
know that option was even available. Oh yeah, the runs out.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Yeah, if you if you find if you end overtime
in a tie, then it's a tie.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I just okay, all right, So we will hit some
of the college football action and one of the things,
and it's I mean, when I do a hay bird,
I could have just done a whole hay birde on
what's the Nabmarre situation. Look, we've been we've been tracking
the whole crazed football fan and how they respond to

(06:06):
situations for a long long time. And I think we
can predict where n Admirra will be today. But but
he's been a little unpredictable. Now, if I have this right,
if I remember it right, Bama gets beat by Florida State, convincingly. Yes,
he's done with the boor he's done with the program.
He's out, not going any more games, right, that's right,

(06:29):
he's done. So they've they've won some games, but it
was games that didn't really mean anything. They beat in
they beat inferior opponents. But this was Georgia Alabama. This
was a big one. Uh, and it was. It lived
up to the hype. It was an incredible game. Will
then the Tide won. So and the Tide, Greg As

(06:52):
you've been trying to warn everybody, and I agree with you.
The Tides there's still a force to be reckoned with.
And goodness at three hundred and sixty pounds with the ball,
they showed you that. But unbelievable, but uh funny. He
couldn't believe what I was seeing. But but Bama looked
as good as anybody in the country. Yeah, as did Georgia.

(07:13):
And Georgia did too. Yeah, I mean yeah, it's gonna
be fun to watch, all right, all roll Tide. Willie
looks like he's back.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
I think he was laying flat on the for at
one point. Yeah, So we'll see, you know, would you?
I don't I can't even believe I'm saying what I'm
saying roll Tide, Willie. Believe it or not. To say
they're interchangeable isn't correct. Admire is a different animal, Yeah,

(07:40):
it's it's it's got It's like a roll Tide Willie,
but but from the same tree, but just a different brain. Right, So,
but his is nd Meer is willing to be a
little more philosophical than Yeah. Oh yeah, you know so.
And and I'm not saying will he's a little more
emotion I'm not saying he is. I think he thinks
he is. Yeah, you know what I mean. And Willi's
a little more emotional, Yeah he is. Yeah, that's exactly right.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Boy.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Seriously, at one point I saw James laying in the Florence.
I saw by the way Sherry love listen. Sherry and
I got to watch it because we watched it together.
And a weird twist how that happened. I'll tell you
about that a little bit when we do weekend stories.
But so when they show the people in the stands, Guys,

(08:29):
I know this is not a new topic, okay, and
I'm not gonna be labor the point. Let's face it,
A lot of a lot of us. We even said
this in Texas at the at the Men's thing on Saturday.
I know, y'all seeking tired of everybody saying stop loving
football so much, so, so let's let's just say, don't
love anything more than you love God and then enjoy
enjoy it if you can get that right right. But

(08:51):
watching watching people organized, I mean they are agonized. You're
the lowest. And if you ever thought about what we're
what we're agonizing about, and I was guilty, sure, I.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Mean, it's just a weird.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Thing in Virginia. I know, Hey, Virginia, how about I
didn't even know that happened Friday night? Well, you know, man,
I don't. I don't acknowledge them Friday night. I know,
for me not knowing Greg and real quick on high school,
just real quick. The Pelm Panthers were off this past week.
But how about my home community of Pleasant Valley Raiders

(09:30):
or they I think they got one loss. They're having
a great Greg, Why would you bring that up? I mean, yeah,
oh no, no, I was just pointing out. At least
consider I can hear it at my house when I'm
on the front porch. I can hear the game. The
fact that the Raiders are having a great season. You
hadn't even gone over to say hello, even on open week. Yeah,
well might whispers in the crowd, Greg the Burgers. Yeah,

(09:55):
that idiot's here. Look at his dogs. They tear everything up.
So so we've got a lot to cover today, folks. Speedy,
you're in charge of admire. I know you kind of
gave up, but any indicators at all.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
He said that I should check with him today and
he would let me know when he's available. But he
claims he is. You don't think he's fired up?

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Interesting because he was done with the though. Yeah, yeah,
he was done. You're right, we'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the hardest working men

(10:47):
in the business, The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
All righty, thank you for being with us today, America,
and we are working our way through another day with you.
So just a little heads up for those of you
out there that would would care. So tomorrow is the
official day that tickets go on sale for the two

(11:14):
Man Church conferences coming up in January. One will be
in Birmingham, one will be in Startvill, Mississippi. They will
be back to back the last two weekends of January
they both have different lineups as far as speakers, except
for Andy Blanks and me, we of course were always
at both. So if you were on our email like

(11:35):
you the last conference, you clicked, I want to be
alerted when tickets go on sale and get a discount
and all that those people are already buying tickets and
then they've already bought them, so understand that when when
tomorrow hits, that means that that tickets have already been
selling to big groups from all over. So don't don't delay.

(11:59):
Especially Start Will Start WLL is gonna be about half
the size of Birmingham as far as seats, so I look,
I expect start will to go quick. Uh and including
like two hundred seats are already you know, given to
the host church for their men or they actually purchased them.

(12:20):
And and so don't don't get the sense that tomorrow
starts at zero, because it doesn't. And and and it's
just two options we went. We did that last year.
You seem to like that better early access and general mission.
That's it. So if you would like to get in
early and grab those uh uh, those those best seats,

(12:42):
then get the early access until they sell out and
they usually sell out first and then after that you
know you'll be let in. You can sit wherever you want.
So so anyway, that's tomorrow at the Manchurch dot Com.
Uh so be be ready for that if you want
to get your group tickets before they sell out. Uh,
it's actually start will because that one doesn't have as

(13:02):
many seats available. All right, So let's let Speedy has
just I mean, last week, good night, Greg, you and
I every time we turned around. We're trying to have
football season, and Speedy can't stop bringing up the Ryder
Cup and keeps trying to get over, keeps trying to
me too, good night if he says Ryder Cup one
more time? Yeah, because I know that really affected y'all's world.

(13:24):
I was like, oh, here we go.

Speaker 7 (13:26):
Er.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
He didn't watch missip State because he was watching the ride.
That's not true. I was at a wedding, of course.
You know the same thing. Well, that Missippi State that
I didn't see it. They had a chance. As a
matter of fact, I didn't see any football except for
Alabama Georgia. That's the only game I saw me too,
and it was the second half of that. But I
did see the highlights in mississipp State. They had a shot.

(13:47):
They did well they did. And you know what that
team from last year to this year. Incredible job by
that staff. And I know they went out and got
some players like everybody did, but that didn't mean anything.
They were, you know, replacing the entire offense in the defense.
And in the second year, Missippi State is competitive and

(14:09):
is I mean they're playing they're playing football with anybody
one loss. Yeah, and boy, you had a chance at Tennessee.
Well you had a chance to beat Tennessee. So it's
about credit Tennessee for winning it. All right. So but
now to the Ryder Cup. And this is what Speedy,
None of the Speedy Cup, the Speedy Cup. This is
what Speedy was trying to get us to understand that

(14:30):
this is different type of golf, hoping it would bring
us in. Yeah, but I mean I.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
Didn't say it had to replace college football, but I
just was letting you know it was out there this weekend.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
But then when I see and hear videos like this
where they can't even teach golf ends how to do chants,
I mean, this is terrible.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Yeah, this looked like you know, they had some early
tea times on Friday and Saturday. I'm talking about like,
you know, six am Eastern kind of thing. And this
looks like it's pretty early or real late. I can't
take you hear this, but it's not good. I'll tell
you that. So you have the you got the stadium mcs.
You know that looks like they're trying to hype the

(15:10):
crowd up on their wireless mic. And well, let's just
let's just watch, uh and see how how y'all feel
about this. Take a listen, Okay, slowed down, slowed down,
you guys all tonatter on this morning?

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Slow down?

Speaker 4 (15:26):
Here we go, one two.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Cloud, one two cloud, Here we go.

Speaker 8 (15:38):
Here got the lyrics Scotty Scotty Shiffler.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
No, no, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
We're gonna try this one more.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
It's on you guy. Doesn't work, We'll do.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
One all right.

Speaker 6 (15:58):
We won.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Because they don't want they don't want to do this.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
The pers right.

Speaker 7 (16:06):
One more time?

Speaker 2 (16:08):
What to? I don't know where to love? Scot got No,
I don't want to do it? Can I ask you
a question? As a hype man, my gracious as an

(16:30):
award winning hype man makes me so nervous. I know
the crowd didn't want to do this. Of course, they're
here just to watch golf, and we're trying to change
golf too much for them, I think, And a lot
of them seem hung over. But to your other point,
but can I ask you this as a hype man,
I thought the instruction was really bad. Yeah, it doesn't
sound like they're coming in on them now.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
It's like it's like they don't even believe in the chant,
you know. I mean, as a hype man, you've got
to be fully invested. Plus you also got to know
your audience. They didn't want to do chance. They didn't
care anything about chance.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
When you're being the hype man and you get in
that situation, but you have to maintain like it's really good,
you can't just back up there. Yeah, I know that sucks.
You got to keep trying to sell it. Yeah, that's
got to be tough. Yes, But did you notice it
didn't sound like they came in on the beat. They're
trying to get them on the beat. They don't sound
like they're on the beat. They sound like they rushed it.
I agree, one hundred percent. And they're so embarrassed, and

(17:26):
nobody wanted a fool with this, and you said that
the scudy, You said that the New York fans were
like in the sauce they got when they thought they
could be routed. They hit somebody's wife in ahead with
a drink. What happened?

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Yeah, I mean you know when and I kind of
was a little put off with the announcers when things
started getting rowdy, because that's what they had wanted. They
they even talked about Friday about how the New York
fans are kind of subdued and they're not really into it.
Of course European play had a lot to do with that,
because they were waxing us that everything they putt would

(17:59):
go in and we would just you they would lip
out all the time for us. But anyway, long story short,
the fans started getting into it, but New Yorkers they
don't know where to stop. And so then you know,
you got some drunks that are going to take it
too far for you know it. You got about fifteen
to twenty highway patrol officers that are following, you know,

(18:19):
different groups because the fans didn't know how to act.
And then on top of that, Rory's wife gets hit
by a drink that's thrown from.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
The audience in the head. So, I mean, it's just
they didn't know.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
How to act.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Did you hear them coming? First name ry Rory. Everybody
knows who that is. Guys, everybody knows who that is.
So do your fans spankers? Did we like it?

Speaker 1 (18:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (18:48):

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Rick God Fearing and America Loving the Rick Berges Show.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Alrighty ready, ready, we're back. Hain't sure being with us
A lot to do, all right, from text Nation, and
this may help. I still don't think it makes those
people look like they did any better a job trying
to be hype people. We're speedy when you need him.
They're saying. One of the problems with getting everybody to
do those cheers was that about sixty percent of the

(20:44):
audience we're pulling for the European team. Yeah, well, I
mean I was just from text Nation. No I said
he was.

Speaker 5 (20:52):
There, and I don't know what day that video is from,
but he's right. I think when when everybody started to
seeing that guy Mike could come, I'd love to hear
from and what it was like being there when we
do on screen phone calls.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
But yeah, Greg and I too, we can't wait.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
But when it went the way it be, when it
went the way it did, and us almost pulled off
the best comeback in Ryder Cup history. Being down seven
on Sunday fell a little bit short. But they they
said that a lot of the Americans released their tickets
and a lot of the Europeans brought you know that
that were for that. They bought them up to get

(21:27):
out there Sunday or and then late Saturday too. It's
so much like everybody's like, Okay, we're getting waxed. I'm
gonna sell my tickets, you know.

Speaker 9 (21:34):
Uhry Rory buddy, not this wik He wasn't okay, Oh
that's right, that's right.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Hey. Can I just give Gregor heads up?

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (21:51):
During these live reads, pay attention?

Speaker 3 (21:53):
All right?

Speaker 5 (21:53):
All right, go ahead, Rick, okay, just over there picking
your nose and stuff when he's reading this.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Yeah, he's injured. He didn't like I'm just saying, just
remember you're in the two shot. Oh that's right. Let's
see what you're saying. You moved over there eating Jimmy
Dean and you know, yeah, it's a good time too,
Tree in the tes seat. Look, you can't get Greg

(22:21):
out of the shot. Now, US tax shield. Let's let's
try one Greg, US tax shield. If you got tax problems,
you need a shield. I didn't add these to them
the coach. All right, so US tax shield. Now this

(22:45):
is whether you got problems personal or business. But take care.
How about this is the largest collection agency in the world.
Can they garnish that paycheck? Yeah, they can garnish it.
How about this? Can you sell off your property? Yes?
Can they put you in jail? You up? So why
don't you go right now to US tax shild because
you need an advocate. You can't. Don't jump out there

(23:05):
in that water. Come on somebody to help you. So
they know how to talk to them. Their team of
tax attorneys and enrolled agents. They can stop collections, they
can get you protected, and they can help you take
control of your financial future. Better Business Bureau A plus
rating A plus. You know what Rick hoigh As you
can get so call them at one eight hundred and

(23:26):
seven six nine seven three four oh Also, you can
find that number by just going to Rick Burgess show
dot com under sponsors. All right, so I want I
have an there's a ton of hay birds today, but
I just I just want to talk about one right
here because I didn't. I don't know what this is about.
Let me let me find it. All right, These are actual,

(23:51):
actual emails that are from you. Okay, so here it
is all right. Keep in mind, Greg, I know you
have had some of your grandkids over. I was in
Texas doing two of the four. I wish i'd had
all four. Yeah, doing a man church one day, so
I didn't see game day. Nope. I didn't see any

(24:14):
football until Saturday night. So anything that happened during the day,
we were either doing the conference which is up till noon,
but then we also had lunch with the team give
us some feedback, hots going, and then we had the
flight back. So by the time we get home, I mean,
the best shot we got is evening football. So I

(24:35):
didn't see me and you saw the exact same. I
thought maybe the end of the second into the second half.
So I have no idea what happened in college football
other than highlights and getting updated like everybody else over
the weekend except for Alabama Georgia and believe it or not,
not proud of this at all. Fell asleep toward the end,
woke up. Everybody was celebrating. I've done that. Okay, I

(24:56):
didn't this time, but I've done that a lot. Big
Papa has been running hard. Game's tough. That's a tough one.
So first of all, this question is out there. We
have to hear from Dicky. Well Speedy says he thinks yes.
Regardless of that, I have to hear Dicky nadmire way

(25:17):
in and I think, well, what could he be upset about?
With a win on Saint Sabin eating ice cream while
wearing a Lion suit? What is he talking about? I
don't know what that means? Was this something on game day?
I know they were all dressed in white because they
were at Beaver Stadium, happy valuators in Penn States, the

(25:38):
Niitney Lions is Did Saban put on some kind of line?
Sabin said, not as kemp. Did you hear him doing that?
So I don't know email or I don't know what
this is. You're right, if Saban was on TV, I'm
sure Dicky saw it. Saying the only highlight I saw
from ESPN Game Day, you know, like like Sunday when

(26:01):
they were when I was watching highlights, was that he
when he picked Alabama or Georgia, which was a funny line.
He said, I have a house in Alabama and I
have a house in Georgia, and I would really appreciate
if neither one was vandalized, but I have to pick,
and I'm gonna pick with my heart roll tight.

Speaker 5 (26:19):
So coach Franklin gave him this. Uh, and the mascot
also came out. And I'm assuming now you know that
the whole game day crew was was in white because
it was a white out. And I guess Saban maybe
puts this on, put that on, maybe put.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
On line suit on. Bad enough, they're in then white clothes. Yeah,
bad enough. And of course Penn State did exactly what
we told you they were gonna do. So he's bringing
he's clearly bringing him. As you said, Speedy, that's clearly
a line suit. Look like a boy band or something. Yeah,
and uh yeah, all of them in the white suits.
I don't know whose idea that was, but Greg, you

(26:56):
hit it. They looked just like a boy band. But
the boy band that's back. Yeah, you know, some more mature.
I'm not wearing the baggy pants, my hat back. We're
doing our residency at Vegas exactly sphere, right, come see us.
Uh so I guess he put that on. Did they
get Saving in that suit? My goodness. We we haven't
found any footage of that. Uh but but as we

(27:18):
told you, you don't confusing with the fury. Everybody always
build my goodness, everybody always believes that this is going
to happen and that it spends state, and they always
they always laid this egg every single season.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
But credit okay, or he put it on. He put
it on, say that it looks to me like, uh,
this here, it looks like he's he's got the top
on it right here.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
Yeah, of course, of course McAfee is all about it. Sure, yeah,
they didn't put McAfee in that. It is beyond me.
And uh he's out there with a serious look on
his face and he's got it on and apparently at
some point they eat ice cream. So okay, So Alex

(28:03):
who who sent that email? And I didn't look like
Saving forgot he had it on?

Speaker 4 (28:07):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (28:10):
Oh yeah he And it is funny. Greg what you're
talking about. He's like really holding court and he's got
it on and we've all done this. My favorite is
like a Halloween party in your dress like hulp, and
you forget you talking somebody.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Uh here's the other one, guys, we didn't know that
I got pumbled on this one.

Speaker 7 (28:32):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
There there's multiples. Hey bird, how any world did you
not tell us that Beth Mowis would rear her ugly
head this weekend and do play by play. Well that
that's just a figure spot. This is an emailer. I
didn't say it on CBS the early game Texans versus Titans. Boy,

(28:53):
the Titans. Yes, I have turned it off. By the way,
I saw Clay Travis. Everybody sent me this. He said,
watching the Texans and the Titans was like you agreeing
to watch Is there any way I could watch bad
professional football? He said, that's two of the worst teams.
He said, I couldn't believe how bad the NFL could be.

(29:16):
He said, those two teams are horrible. Hey birds, Hey birds,
this is from a woman. This is from a woman. Hey,
thanks a lot. I thought you guys were Titans fans.
No heads up, I know that Beth Mullens was on
the call this week.

Speaker 5 (29:29):
I'm sorry I was. I focused so much on college football.
I didn't even look at the NFL.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
And I was about to say the fact she moved
up to the NFL and we lost her and she's
done these before.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
I will do a better job of every week checking
that as well.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
But I just I just focused on college. So she
did the color for the game. I don't know, she says.
He says, I sat down for a rare chance to
watch a little ball on Sunday and was almost I
was hit almost immediately with yards. She said, yards so fast,
she said, the man I heard there was yards, she said.
As soon as I herd yards, she said, I knew

(30:04):
my day was ruined. You guys have a duty to
inform the public of these things. I'm sorry, Marion. She
hid from us up and we weren't looking at not
looking at you know.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
Clay living in Nashville. He he's all about it.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
And so I'm sure that was tam Oh he said,
did you see his quote? He said, First of all,
it's the worst professional football I think I've ever seen
on the field, he goes, And to top it off,
we get Beth Mowens. He said that Travis, We're not
a long guy. Okay, I thought it was just us.
Well in the Titans Texan game, you don't get to.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Say yards a life, not a lot of yards.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
Not a lot of yards.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the only show hosted
by an Oxford graduates, well Oxford High School, The Rick

(31:09):
Bridger's Show.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
We are back, Thank you for being with US America.
All right, So a couple of things I'm adjusting to.
So Adler is off today. So Speedy's handling Tube City.
So y'all, y'all handle him with care. But you know
what I didn't think about. Guess who's playing with text
Nation now? Greg. He's got the mouse and he's he's

(31:38):
checking out. I'm about text Nation. Get him, Greg, get
them Greg. Somebody on text Nation is asking, do we
think Bobby Petrino is getting that motorcycle repped up? Do
you think they're gonna hand it off to him? You know,
I mean, Arkansas gets.

Speaker 5 (31:53):
Amazing his interim now with coach Pittman being fired. If
you don't know, Arkansas fired their head coach after the
embarrassing blowout to Notre Dame this past week destroyed them.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Now Greg has always laid it out and you are
one hundred percent right, baby brother. Is if you want
to if a coach is in trouble, there's always that game.
He can sputter and all that. And I'm not saying
Notre Dame is a bad team, so don't don't misunderstand that.
But but but up to this point, you got an
angry crap mob and angry fan base. But you're still

(32:31):
in the game. Yeah, you were one or two plays
from winning, being undefeated practice, and then there's that game
where everybody says that's it, that's it, that's it, and
that was it. So but you think Beatrino will get
the job full time? How do they give it to him?
You know, he rode a motorcycle, you know, to the
press conference. I thought that is not your little une taste,
put his neck brace back on. No, that's been Bobby's

(32:55):
come back. And you know, did he go through the
Saban school of rehab? He didn't. We I think we'd
all feel better if you did. All the coaches that
Nick Saban, you know, rehabilitated, they landed on their feet
and they're doing great. But Bobby Petrino didn't go down
that road. But I hope that he's got it all
behind him. But uh Pittman, Yeah, yeah, yeah, have But

(33:17):
I liked O Pittman, but I mean I did. But
am I wrong? Did Petrino? You know he worked his
way back when all that happened, didn't He ended up
back at Louisville? It just didn't work out?

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Am I wrong?

Speaker 10 (33:28):
I think?

Speaker 7 (33:28):
No?

Speaker 2 (33:28):
I think that happened. Rick did it? It did? I
think I thought, And it didn't turn out very well?
He did not, so I may have made that up, guys.
But but I mean, wasn't he the offensive coordinator for Arkansas? Yes? Now,
but I thought at one point he went back through
Louisville for the second round as the head coach. No,
what I'm saying is that didn't turn out the way
the magic wasn't there before? And did Arkansas offense do well? Yeah,

(33:52):
that's why I'm I mean it is Patriya, I'm just
gonna finish the season. Is he really the right choice
at this point? And he's in room right now? I'm
sure correct. They named it, yeah, named him in Yes,
So I guess it depends on how the rest of
the year goes, yeah, I don't know if he has
a good year. I don't know. We we it'll be
interesting to see transfer portals find the light up. Yeah,

(34:13):
let me tell you something. Can I tell you the person?
I don't know? I know everybody says, Rick, why don't
you Mary lane Kiffin. But but let me tell you
I have Let me get ahead and go, here we go.
I have enjoyed watching he's very lane Kiffin get his
life together, and I hope it sticks. I'm not saying
it's completely together, but he certainly has stopped drinking. He
said that for sure.

Speaker 10 (34:34):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Somebody said he and his ex wife are reconciling. She
has moved to Oxford where they are. They're in the
same place, so they can, you know, parent their kids.
Except the one that's playing I think volleyball at u USC.
She's doing some sport at USC. Yeah. But anyway, but
he's funny. Did you see him after their big win?

(34:56):
He was bragging on his players, and he goes, I
better stop. He said, all I'm doing is getting him
stolen out of the portal said yeah, yeah, yeah, he
stopped right. He said, somebody, he's somebody's gonna come off
from the portal and I won't lose him said, you
can't even brag when you players into that's a great point.
Yeah so uh so, and then him poking fun and
his daughter's boyfriend, the week's brother, yeah, saying he hoped

(35:20):
he covered the over. Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
That's this right here, well here to Trinidad made up
for running out of bounds though.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
You know, we believe in our players to go for
it on fourth down. A lot glad to make made
plays looking for right now to see if he covered over.
So anyway, and a lot of people, of course, you
know they're gonna show his daughter, uh and so they
were as soon as they they won. It was obvious
that she had a boyfriend, but her daddy. She was

(35:50):
definitely pulled for o miss. Oh yeah. So so anyway,
the old miss speeding, I know this is hard for you.
Spent tough day for you already. H I missed this
game completely and.

Speaker 5 (36:01):
I was getting updates, uh you know, throughout the drive
to the wedding. Philip and Anna Leonor got got married,
and I was it was awesome seeing Tommy being able
to officiate it, being you know and everything. It was
really a special moment and so so, but I was
out of the loop a little bit, paying attention a
little bit more to Missippi State Tennessee. Of course they

(36:22):
were playing at the same time. But I saw the
back and forth and saw we're all miss you know,
hung on and won it. That's a big win. I
think they jumped in the polls. I think they jumped
to number four. We have the latest poll, and I
think they leaped pretty pretty pretty far up.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
How about Washington got after Ohio State a little bit,
did they? They did me it wouldn't blowout, yeah, so
so that I didn't see the game. But like I say,
the only game I saw was Alabama Georgia, and I
didn't really I kept falling asleep during that like a
good tell you well, I know, I know, I can't
believe it. So so as you said, so today Ohio

(37:02):
State rightfully, so they won twenty four to six over Washington.
But that was a close game for a while. Or again,
of course, incredible game. They beat Penn State in overtime,
and then right did the goat overtime? Yeah, the Penn
State one? Yeah, yeah, oh yeah, I think double overtime, yeah,
I believe. And then Miami was idle. Old Miss stays

(37:24):
at four, I mean moves to four. Like you said,
Oklahoma at five they didn't play. I'm not sure I
believe them at five, I don't know. We'll say A
and M. They keep doing what they got to do
to win, and I love their coach saying, look, can
we not talking about the fact that word four and
oh for the first time since twenty sixteen, could ask
me all these other questions. Yeah, so, and then Penn

(37:47):
State only drops to seven, but I mean they were
right there. So Indiana continues to win. They did. They
mean it was a tough one. This one was a
tough one, but they got it done. With their coach man,
he's fun, he's a good end. He is brutally and
I love him. He don't play it down. I mean,
if he thinks they were better than everybody, he'll tell
you the mighty tide has moved to ten. That might

(38:09):
bring Dickie out today. Indiana, like I says eight, Texas nine,
that didn't play Texas Tech at eleven at four and oh,
anybody believe in the Red Raiders. You know, everybody talks
about how much money they spent in the off season,
it seems to be paying off. Georgia drops to twelve,
down seven, LSU has dropped to thirteen, and then Iowa

(38:31):
State Tennessee Vandy going to Bright Denny at number sixteen
after beating the Tide last year and undefeated. Well get
ready midnight's finish strike there. You remember Greg, Greg called
Bama as you did too speedy And the only reason
why I picked Georgie in that game because we all
felt Bama is because all of y'all picked Bama, and

(38:53):
I thought, well, if I picked Georgia and they went,
I'll be the only one that gets it right. Yeah,
but we all felt that coming, didn't Yeah to two
thirty game on ABC, the Vandy at Alabama. I'm gonna
tell you look, and it's a great story. I'll be
very surprised. Alabama's gonna I'll tell you this. They won't
be looking past them. You bet on that. No, that's true.

(39:13):
They got to feel good about themselves and that plus
little payback from last year, and in fact, Alabama's really good.
Do you think it'll be ugly or just they'll win?
I think they'll win by seventeen.

Speaker 5 (39:24):
I can't wait to hear what Dicky said he did
confirm he's good, but probably in about an hour and.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
A half or so hour hour and a half. Okay, Greg,
everybody says you're right again out of Kentucky. Petrino was
head coach at Louisville two times. Yeah, and the second
time and it didn't work out. Now, Oh, game day,
going to Tuscaloosa to this week top.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Of the hour.

Speaker 1 (39:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, all right.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
So you know, we spend a lot of time here
talking about the headlines. Not a lot, but I mean
when we hit those, it's almost like, wow, that was
kind of a Debbie downer and you start thinking, man,
it's just darkness everywhere. I just need a break from
all this. And that's the reason why we tried to
give you a break from it. But you might need
something bigger, like a weekend. Ladies, here it is Share

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Gus time for the show. America, Who's ready to go?
Adler is off today, but Speedy Greg here, Bird, I'm
here and America, We're ready to go to another one
to the Rick Burgess Show. And I were already behind us.
So if you missed the first hour, catching on the
archives later today either on the podcast channel or the

(41:49):
YouTube channel. Today. Thank y'all for being with us so
this past weekend, looking back uh. Headed after the show
headed off to Orange, Texas. I don't know what the
deal was with Orange, but to one weekend I was
in Orange, Virginia. The next weekend I was in Orange, Texas.

(42:12):
Aren't you glad? I went right? This week Orange Beach.
You go into Orange Beach's gonna hang out with Andy
Andrew going to California to Orange County, Orange County. So
what it was it was it was at first Baptist Church,
Orange Texas. Come on, so this is what they did
was something called a man church one day. Sometimes churches

(42:33):
will do that. Well, they'll bring in two to three
of our speakers and we'll just get up on Saturday
morning and we'll roll. What happens is you got praising
worship song. Here's Andy Blake's. Everybody take a break because
we've learned that all of us, you know, because there's
a lot of men that are all over the country
doing our strategy. We love that. One of the biggest
complaints you got from the men who maybe are a

(42:56):
little more seasoned, seasoned give us time to go to back. Hey, guys,
we can't sit through two speakers not go to the bathroom.
So what we do is we sing a little. Here's
a speaker, go to the bathroom, come back. We sing
a little. Here's a speaker, go to the bathroom, come back,
We sing a little. Here's a speaker. Let's close it,
and we're out here. Matter of fact, we got the
guys out of there before noon. We were really good

(43:19):
job there by all the men. But this is one
of those special I mean, we got a lot of
them out there. I love. I'm glad that this is
not unique. But let me tell you the men and
at First Baptist Church in Orange, Texas, they have a
little bit more of an uphill climb because sadly, other
than streaming, which you could, I mean, there's men there
that catch everything we do, but we're not you don't

(43:42):
have an affiliate in town and the places where there's
an affiliate, like I'm going to Union City, Tennessee on Sunday,
and those men not only are doing a good job there,
they have the show playing every day on KYTN. It's
a huge advantage for them. If you don't have an affiliate.
Now you're just like hoping people are catching the podcast
or watching on YouTube or are streaming, so they work

(44:04):
and work and work work there locally to get men
to come out, and it's an uphill climb, especially during
football season and all that, so they really worked hard.
So what we do is we get there on Friday.
It's rich wingo, Andy, blanks and meat. So I've got
wingo and all the things wingo. Then I've got a
person who has second hand embarrassment at a higher level

(44:25):
than Speedy, which is shocking, shocking, So he's constantly I'm
dealing with that. And then flying we have from the
Royal Navy. We have James. Oh, mister Burgess, is James,
when will you and the two other men be arriving

(44:46):
because we can get aboard the plane and be leaving
straight away. And John Thomas. Yeah, so James is James's
phenomenal and you feel really safe that you've got somebody
that flew for the Royal Navy. But he'll come into
play on this trip because you know, and he's he's
kind of no nonsense but wonderful, wonderfully comforting. He takes

(45:10):
the role of you almost have to say, now, James,
come on to hang with us. I believe I should
probably get get the plane ready to go so tomorrow
we can leave straight away. And I'm like, James, come on,
just put up, just come with us. So so he
did join us on Saturday morning, breakfast at the hotel,
stayed with us all day, we had lunch back to
the plane. So one of the things that I'm picking

(45:32):
up pretty quick because what we want to do is
kind of we follow the example of the Apostle Paul.
We if we get an opportunity, you know, we're doing
We're going around on places where we've been doing the
strategy and say, how's it going, tell us what's working,
what's not working. So we go to the seven men
that are kind of in leadership there that that make
sure this happens and including uh, you know Chuck, who's

(45:55):
who's our point man and uh, and we sit down
and we have dinner and and we hear how it's
going and uh and get to interact with them and
to hear all their testimonies and what's going on. It's
really really cool. So one of the things, though, what
is one what's an uphill climb for me as far
as trying to do better, believe it or not? It's

(46:15):
rich wingo believe it or not? Two things speedy. It's
almost like I travel. Two men represent you. Andy Blanks
represents the secondhand embarrassment side of you. Rich Wingo, which
is really shocking. Somebody is disciplined as Wingo. You know,
hard knows. I played middle linebacker for the Packers. I
played the linebacker for Bear Bryant. You know, everybody's soft,

(46:39):
you know, nobody you know. And then suddenly he has this.
It's like sweets, they just own it. They own it.
He blacks out on my Yeah, and of course, you know,
I have such great respect for him. He's one of
my dearest friends. So he influences me. You know, you
got to be careful you let hang around you. So
on one hand, he's spiritually holds me accountable to the

(47:03):
highest degree, no nonsense, like my wife can will literally say,
if this continues, I'm calling Rich okay, because he's gonna
straighten you out because the way your behaving is completely unacceptable.
But then when it comes to sweets, it's like he
has no discipline whatsoever. It's like he just completely comes underlie.
They take us out to eat at Papa does Okay,

(47:26):
we're not hurting for food here, Okay, there's plenty of food.
You know, I go of course, with the red fish
pinch of train. I mean you got to right. Did
that catch your eye? What happened with a dirty rice
and some red fish with a little crawfish on top
of it?

Speaker 6 (47:41):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (47:42):
Okay, So you know, I'm like, we're okay right here,
everything's fine. All of a sudden he starts it, you
know how he does that little poke. We're gonna get
We're gonna get some dessert. I'm like, I think I'm good.
So we're not going to do dessert. I said, I
honestly think I'm good. Guys, whatever y'all want, you know,
just our way saying things, if anybody want dessert, And
and all of a sudden they come out with that
trade the has of the desserts on them, and you

(48:03):
pick off, and and Wingo looks up and sees basically
a mason jar full of banana pudding. It's a mason
jar full of banana pudding with whipped cream on top
of it, something sticking out of the top of it.
Rich rich was who all have that? And I said, Richie,
we don't need that. He grown and he's like, well,
I said, I'm getting it. I said I'm not. And

(48:23):
then and then of course you you think to yourself, Rick,
getting ready for my discussion with trainor Shawn tomorrow. When
he asked how the weekend went, noticed I didn't get
any food. Journals know you didn't know you did not?

Speaker 3 (48:35):
So do you?

Speaker 7 (48:35):
You know?

Speaker 2 (48:35):
You think you know? I mean, I know we all
have to end up confessing at some point. I just
wasn't ready yet. And you know what, Rick, you don't
have to get anything. Why don't you just sit there?
Why don't you not order anything? So you think because
others are getting it. Yeah, it's like we're back in
school again. Yeah, so then to look over and we're
going to get it till that's all of that. And
then I look over and Andy Blanks, you know who,

(48:56):
I've got to take some issues with here. A little
bit later, he decided, Then I look he's in now
now he's ordering. Uh, you're the odd man out, and
I'm just you and and I'm like and and I'm
and then then next time gets you some pudding, Rick,
next thing, I know, I'm ordering. I didn't get attracted

(49:17):
your eye. I didn't get a mation jar full of pudding.
But before you knew it, I did have that pecan
pie with a lost cream on top, sweet potato sweet
potato pecan pie. How you got to miss that? You can't?
And then and then you know what happens when I'm done,
don't you eater's regret? Oh yeah, yeah, Now I'm bloated.

(49:39):
I feel terrible. I'm like, I'm never going to sleep now.
I can't sleep deep breath side. I got back to
the hotel room and I made myself sit down over
by the little little desk. I said, have a seat.
Let's talk about why you did that. What did Rich
grab that and make you eat it? Kind rick kind of?
And you know what I said to him we're walking

(50:00):
by the hotel. I said, you know what you're You're
not good for me in this area. And he said,
He's like, hey, if you just do the working, do
this every now. And then I said I didn't want dessert.
He said, well, why did you get? I said, course,
y'all did. I won't be left yeah, And he said no.
He said, do you realize if your kid said that?
I said, I know, I said, but there was something
about y'all looking at me, you and Andy like I

(50:20):
felt like you know what I felt like? Do you'll
agree with this, This is not this is Look Dad,
I don't know what you can see. I know this
is excuses are but do you ever kind of look
over and they almost look at you like I thought
this must be fun? Yeah? Are we trying to have
a fun with him? Agree with him?

Speaker 3 (50:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (50:35):
And you feel like you're the kill Joey Right yeah.
I mean keep it up with some journal that you
know you're going a trip like this and bring a
food journal out. You had it, You had it, no excuse.
So before I knew it, I was getting on everybody. Man,
we don't need this, guys. This is not the way
to go. This is a lack of this one right here.
I'll take up a compile with the ice cream. Then

(50:56):
next thing I know, I'm in. So then I have
nothing to say. Laying there on the bed stair at
the Ceiland, hoping I can get a little air off somehow.

Speaker 1 (51:06):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is where Logic
Beats left the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (51:29):
We're back. Thanks for being with US America and text Nation.
We argue we get in your texts concerning a fan
of the show that that was up here just a
few weeks ago in the box seats David, and they
said he went into cardiac arrest over the weekend, is

(51:50):
in the hospital, critical but stable. Uh so he's uh
we need to be praying that he makes a full
recovery and we will join you in that. So thanks
for letting us know that. How'd you sleep last night? Greg?
Good helic sleep dot com slash big big vox. That's
exactly right, that's right, because you got a customized mattress.

Speaker 3 (52:10):
I did.

Speaker 2 (52:10):
I told them how I like to sleep, right read?
You like sleep your back, your side, your stomach, stuff
like that soft mattress, medium mattress, hard mattress. What do
you want? Yeah? Two minutes. Well, hey, let me ask
you this since you're a rotator and I am two sided,
and oh yeah, side and stomach. What's your percentage of
stomach inside equal more stomach than side, a more sie
forty stomach, sixty forty stomach. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Okay,

(52:35):
right now, if you would like to get a customized mattress. Look,
this is just logic. I sleep on a mattress that's boilerplate,
which means it's a one size fits all, or I
sleep on a mattress that was made for my preverences.
Which one do you think you'd sleep better on? So
one hundred nights, you get it one they ship it
to you for free. Got one hundred nights to be
sure you love it, and if you don't, they'll refund

(52:55):
the money. But you're going to so and the shipping's
free too. So go to Helix sleep dot com slash
big vox. That's gonna save you twenty five percent. That
link is also available at Rick Burgess show dot com
under the sponsors. But Orange Texas First Baptist Church, Orange
Texas Man Church. One day we get there on Friday nights,

(53:16):
I'm already back at the room, you know, feeling a
little bit guilty because Wingo taught me into to dessert.
And by the way, Andy and I, you know, we
both played little ball, and Andy and I tried to
we made that terrible mistake of trying to do football
stories with Wingo, which is so stupid because you go
from like, you know, we's going for the county championship

(53:38):
and Wingle says yeah, and I was playing the Detroit
lines on Thanksgiving. You're like, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, I
remember tackling there was this kid you know that he
was at trade school man, and he was something and
we hit him and man, it was like hitting the
truck and the window goes. Yeah. Walter Payton was very similar. Yeah,
I mean, what do you do? I mean, you know
he's the me monster of any football store. You just

(54:00):
shut up something. So So, anyway, we get back to
the room, and of course I get back to the
room and I don't even know how they did it.
Sean Thompson who's trained to Sean, and of course Blake Prime,
both who have helped me with my strength and my
my overall health. I don't know how they did it,
how they got the Orange Texas with both of them.
We're in my hotel room waiting and so is it

(54:22):
worth it?

Speaker 3 (54:22):
Bird?

Speaker 7 (54:23):
So?

Speaker 2 (54:23):
So why would you want to do it? To you?

Speaker 7 (54:24):
So?

Speaker 2 (54:25):
Bird explaining to us. So anyway, I get I have
a little bit of you know, eaters regret, the fear
of missing.

Speaker 5 (54:31):
About eaters regret. It just tastes so good when you're eating,
you know, and then and then afterwards you're like.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
Wow, and I begin to notice it again. I begin
to notice something. I start picking up on a little
bit of a trend, a little bit of a trend.
I keep in mind, usually Wingo and I we we
travel just Wingo and Birds. Now Blanks is involved. Love
Andy Blanks one of my favorite guys. Been working with

(54:58):
him too. I thought he could be trusted. I started
noticing at the dinner a lot of the seven guys
at the table where they're with them, we're talking about
how it's going. I notice that that Blanks begins to
chum around with Wingo a little bit. They start developing
their own little things. You're trying to steal it, I believe.

Speaker 7 (55:18):
So.

Speaker 2 (55:18):
Oh so I pick up pretty quick there's an attempt
at to steal. And then we go out and like
I noticed, getting in the van, he goes where Wingo
is and and kind of they begin to isolate me
off as kind of the the point man to the church.
And now they start developing their own little their own

(55:39):
little thing. And so it dawns on me that I
think Blank's is going for a steal. And you know,
we've all been through this before, where somebody try to
steal one of your buddies. And and I would even
have to do things like let's all three hang out,
not just you and Wingo. You're blocking it if I can,
if I can disaddress this, if I I can just

(56:00):
if I can just address this. So I felt like
I'm dealing with that, and then that caused me to
do something on Saturday that I'm not proud of. But
when you're dealing with someone with secondhand embarrassment, what's the
only thing better than getting someone that will go over
and sing to them a capello right in front their face,
dear one of the breaks. What's the only thing that

(56:21):
can make that better? And I'll tell you what it is.
I won't even make you guess if they have a
prothetic limb, oh wow, if they've got Look, I found
a guy with a fake, fake foot and it was
just too good to be true. And he was so
into the show, big LSU fan by the way, sorry
about that, had his LSU shirt on. He comes over
and was very very kind, and I know he's kind

(56:42):
of limping around and he goes, oh, by the way,
I know you probably want to know this. I have
I lost the lower half of my leg and I
have a full blowng fake half leg and I so
and he said this, and I'm willing to help you
various andy blanks, And I said would you be willing

(57:03):
to do a combination of fate leg and a capella
singing to Andy And he said, I'm in. Okay, So
I said, here's what you do. And I said, could
you limp a little more, like really limp? And he said, yes,
turn it up, yeah, to draw attention. This is this
is this payback for him trying to steal rich in
your mind the whole time. And I said, ok. And

(57:24):
I said, I really want you to turn it up,
and I want you to just just force him to
have to deal with it. And he's gonna try so
hard to like he doesn't notice it. And I said,
I really want you to struggle, and that I want
you to tell him that you that you are a
pretty good singer and there's a there's a song that
means a lot to you that you'd like to sing
for him and to show your appreciation for what he's

(57:45):
been doing. And he said, I'm in. And I watched
the whole thing. I could see Andy Blank sweating. I
mean I could see the sweat and they were across
the room. I mean it was glistening in the lights
coming off the stage. He was so very I'm comfortable,
and uh, and and finally he and finally, finally he
looked past me and he said, I can't believe you're

(58:08):
doing this. And then the guy started laughing and let
him off the hook. But for a moment. And you
know what, I wasn't ready for though, one that I
didn't even plan. One I didn't even plan. And I
asked Speedy about it. So when we're the three speakers,
so we're on the front row, and in this particular church,
the front row is like the end of our console
to the vox seats, like the vox seats would be

(58:28):
the stage or the box seats to be where I'm sitting,
and the end of the console would be the stage.
He was fine during the first praising worship set. The
second featured three brothers that were a gospel trio. Oh boy,
and I look and he's struggling. I said, what's going on.
He goes a little close to the trio and I said,
what do you mean? And he's yeah, he said, I'm

(58:50):
too close to the trio. I said, what do you
mean you're too close to He said, you know how
trios make facial expressions? Yes, quite a bit. And he goes,
now I'm making contact with him. They're so close that
we're like looking at each other. It's like he's almost
in it. Yeah, And of course then I start saying, well,
let's yeah, this really really turned it up. So that

(59:10):
was almost like a bonus one. I didn't know that
second hand embarrassed people can be too close to a
gospel trio.

Speaker 5 (59:16):
I didn't know part of the second hand embarrassment is
is you already become the person that you're embarrassed for,
like like for some reason you know you are that person.
Instead of just watching them like everybody else, you become
them and you start getting embarrassed like you're them. So
that that close distance that I can understand now all

(59:36):
of a sudden, he is there.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
So it's the animation of the gospel. Yeah, oh yeah,
he's in it.

Speaker 1 (59:41):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. We talk to the

(01:00:01):
public every day and trust us, you should be gravelly concerned.
The Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
Thank you for being with us America as we work
through another one still to come. Speedy believes Dickie Nadmir,
but he feels strong that Nadmir is back today. But
what's his status with the Tide. We will see big
win for the Tide over the weekend. Game Day goes
to Tuscaloosa this weekend. We'll see how this has affected

(01:00:32):
Nadmir Who would have ever thought the game day would
be going to watch Alabama and Bandy unbelievable. So we'll
talk about that. That's still coming up. So let's uh,
let's finish Orange Texas. So I've been dealing with Andy
with secondhand embarrassment. He's clearly trying to steal Wingo and

(01:00:55):
I'm dealing with all that. So our point, man, there
is a man named Chuck. Oh Chuck, Oh, Chuck. And
you can see Chuck here Greg, because I wanted to
get you a visual. I'm doing a perfect stance to
show Wingo that at sixty I can still get in
a perfect stance. And uh, and so that's Chuck standing
blue Beard. Yeah. I knew you were gonna call him that,

(01:01:16):
and he knew it too. He's got a partner. Yeah,
be right there. Look you could lay a board across.
Look at that. I mean what I mean, just that's
that's a beautiful stance. Yeah, that's good by yourself. Okay,
So this is why I come off. Put you on
your back. Then? What well, so so then back guy
with with a beard with a gap in it. Good,
that's Chuck. That's the he loves you. I did too.

(01:01:39):
I like his beard. Okay, I never seen one with
a part in the middle. By the way, Chuck was
talking about some of the things. Yeah, he's talking about
how much you love, how much he loves stuff. It's
going to look like he's got to be a lot
of fun.

Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
It is number one favorite segment of the new show.
Is number one favorite me getting the gay breakfast ward
he said, I have laughed about it early. How he said,
I laughed about it for eight months?

Speaker 3 (01:01:58):
All right?

Speaker 2 (01:01:59):
So look I know the gang from Orange. I met
him at the end event. Oh yeah, they come to
offer conference. They're come to start for of course I
need you're gonna get some tickets. Uh but anyway, so
so picture this. We we're at the hotel so and
and and then they're gonna pick us up Chuck is
on Saturday morning and drive us to the event. Okay,

(01:02:21):
Now the hotel that we had is about a half
hour from the church.

Speaker 12 (01:02:26):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
But so he's gonna pick us up, drive us to
the train. He's excited. He's the point man. Great day, ahead.
We're all jacked. We're very excited. So picture this. You
got to get this part right. Walking to this van
type thing he's driving, I go to the shotgun seat
by Chuck you call it well, anyone't call it well?

(01:02:49):
Andy and and Rich. You know, we're having their bromance.
So they wanted to ride. Were you pouting up front?
I wasn't thrilled how this this thing with because Andy
was it was being so and it just continued. I
had to deal with it on the plane on the
way home. Did you introduct yourself into the conversation? Could
you tell Andy let him breathe you got so? Sh
him up. So Andy goes in first like a beach ball, right.

(01:03:11):
He goes to the back seat. Wingo goes to the
seat behind the driver. He's got it. He's got a
cup of coffee, which is crucial. The pilot, James goes
to sit behind me. Somebody, hell, you got it? That
sounds just like him.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
You got it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
James is behind the passenger seat, Wingo is behind the
driver's seat. Andy's back there in the back which Greg
has a name for that seat. Okay, all right, So
he's back there like one of the kids. Right, Okay,
of course he's okay because because he can talk right
over Rich's shoulder the entire ride and lay his head on.
But then I'm back here, mister Rich. If you need me,

(01:03:49):
I'm not behind your head. But you know how something
with me, I sure do love you. You know how
when something happens that you think I probably should have
taken a note of that. What was it like playing
for Green Bay? Tell us about your NFL Dames? What
about when it was so cold? How did you stay warm?
Mister Rich? What was it like to tackle Eric Digson? Papa?

(01:04:12):
So anyway, tell me about the goal line stand?

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
Uh so?

Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
Anyway? Tell me mister Wingo. So anyway, mate, Rick jealous
look at me? I warned Blames this was coming. But anyway,
so you know, I just sometimes things are it's almost
like they Hey, Rick, don't miss him. He threw it
out there, Chuck says to me, unprompted by the way,

(01:04:37):
I'm so fired up by today. I want to experience
it completely. I ain't even gonna take my ADHD medicine today.
And I went, hmmm, should have taken a note of that?
Should I didn't? Maybe he should have took it you know,
there's a lot of times I wonder if somebody really
has that. I think people always talk about it. It's
become almost midd to have it. Not this guy, he's

(01:05:00):
got it, okay. So so he takes the wheel, Beard apparently. Yeah,
he takes the wheel and off we go. Now he's
talking to me because we're playing out today, so I'm
not really I guess I'm not paying attention. Little did
I know that he was. He started going like ninety
something miles an hour. Hey, and it's talking to me

(01:05:23):
and not paying attention to the road. I don't really looking.
I don't really pick up on the fact that the
other three in the back have all completely begun to
focus on We're all going to die, okay. And so
Wing goes coffee because he keeps jerking, the wheel is
spilling all over him and I don't know this happened,
and he's getting car sick back yeah, because he's swaying

(01:05:46):
around and shoved my head. Chuck is driving like I'm
gonna find it. Chuckie's driving, I don't realize that's making
the entire car sick. And all of a sudden, James,
who's a pilot and was with the Royal Navy. If
we want to lose a tire right now, we will
all die a hobble them. There's no recovering from this

(01:06:08):
sittle yes, And we're just like, and I don't realize
it until it gets so bad that they start complaining
from the back, we're all going to die. Chuck, please
watch the road. Quit talking to Rick and not looking
at the road. One time, one time I hear from
the back Andy Blake's I just counted every screw on
that eighteen wheeler. So it's so, look, so we go

(01:06:36):
by and we see this next picture of these flags.
So we're going by and we're flying, we're going up
on a ramp, and they look off this is some
sort of memorial. So I go, hey, what kind of
what kind of memorials are from the back seat the
people that Chuck has killed.

Speaker 13 (01:06:58):
I'm talking about it's anybody, everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:07:03):
So I didn't realize he wasn't they were jerking the car.
I never I was so talking to him. I don't
guess I picked up on it. But the front and
I want to tell you, James, James, James, he was like, Hey,
ain't no need for that, he said, he said, we
we could have. And Joe was like, this is split beard, right, Yes,
yeah he was. He was at the wheel, and you

(01:07:24):
didn't take his ADHD medicine. Maybe you should have. Well,
there were a couple of times where I don't even
think he was looking forward, and he said, he said,
he said, when my dad told me, I always look
somebody now when you talking to him, I said, but
I'm not driving either, standing especially when we uh, you know,
at one at one time. Andy says, this was what

(01:07:46):
it would feel like if you got to actually catch
a ride in a NASCAR race trying to get people.
People are wondering where we're going while we're going this way,
and while we're going so fast, and why are we
watching the road. I didn't know that the car was
moving that much, but it turned out to yeah, yeah,
you don't realize it up there in the back seat. Yeah,
so that's what Andy wanted to be close to it. Yes,

(01:08:06):
So we get out. We get out, and Rich claims
his coffee is on his chest and running down his stomach. Okay,
that jumped over the shirt. We jumped out so much
and went over the car. Yeah, And James is the
pilot is upset at the at the fact that he
kept getting obsessing her. If we lost a tire, it
would have been the end of us all and sees

(01:08:28):
something about saw right, and he said, you cannot recover
from a tire at that to speed, we all would
die a horrible death. And uh and then uh and
so then when we talked about that, and then Chuck
had and then so you've got you've got sick sick Andy,
he's nauseous, You've got angry pilot, and you've got Wingo
with coffee on him, and and and now we're rolling in.

(01:08:51):
We're we're going in for recover. But it went great.
A soft drinks set my stomach and then we had
a wonderful we saw. We wanted to get y'all there.
We saw an incredible movement of God. We really did
some great feedback on the show and on the strategy.
We had men make decisions to follow christ sitting there

(01:09:11):
listening to Andy and Rich to be able to travel
all kid in the side and to sit and listen
and have the teaching of those two. They're incredible and
so and Chuck is such a support of what we
do here and everything we do with the man Church
and all of those men, and the report it encouraged
us greatly. They took us out to lunch, and this

(01:09:32):
will be the fine thing, I'll say. And there's one
funny one hereous. We're at lunch and we're all eating
again like there's no tomorrow at this incredible restaurant. I
wish this restaurant was closer to us, I'm Isaac. Actually
I'm glad it's not. The food is so good and
it's so great, and we get down to it again
and we're sitting here and all of a sudden, the

(01:09:53):
sweet waitress from Texas says, well, now y'all don't leave
here now without having some of our pudding. And Wimo
comes alive. What I see his head and go up.
Of course, now it's a new buddy. I'll have some too,
and uh and and and then I said, I I
don't really I'm good on bread pudding. And then she says, well,
now we also have a pumpkin cheesecake that has Karmel

(01:10:16):
on it. Wingo said, you're not going to celebrate what
we've just seen, God do? I said, I don't think
we celebrate by being gluttonous and.

Speaker 4 (01:10:26):
Killed.

Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
You said, that, and he said, get back on the discipline.
This is not We're not overdoing it. Why did you
say that with that pumpkin cheesecake was so good? I mean,
I like chasing things with sweets, you know what. I
felt like, it's nice to have a little sweet. I
felt like I felt like, for some reason, I felt
like that I was the guy that was being killed joy.

(01:10:48):
You know, we're I'll celebrate and hear it. So so
you know, before I knew it, I was having a
pumpkin cheesecake and and I only ate half of it.
Of course it was large, but it was it was
so too much. So right before we leave and we'll
wrap up orangetein right before we leave. At that lunch,
three of the guys that lead their wives were at

(01:11:10):
this lunch because they had helped there with you know,
the resources and all that stuff. And then one of
them says, can I just have the floor And we
said sure, and she said, I just want to tell
you three men and everybody involved in what's going on
with the Man Church, we the wives want to thank
you for the radical changes in our husbands. This this

(01:11:33):
this do We haven't had anything that we've ever tried
that has had this kind of result. Of course, this
is what we're doing. It's just what scripture says. But
to hear these wives and these mamas becoming in all
of you out there that don't have a functioning, you
don't have to use us do something. There's no greater
gift to the wives and children and the and the

(01:11:56):
leadership of a church than to have a strong men's ministry.
There's nothing that has more impact. And we say that
on Father's Day. And if we'll actually practice what we
say with our surveys and all this on Father's Day,
the feedback is not just from the men. I mean
we get it from the wives, from the children. And

(01:12:21):
there's nothing more encouraging than that. So thanks to the
folks at First Baptist, Orange, Texas for a wonderful, wonderful weekend,
and we'll.

Speaker 1 (01:12:29):
Be right back. This is the Rick Burgess Show. In
a world that embraces mediocrity, they are thriving. The Rick
Bridgers Show.

Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
We're back. Thanks for being with us America. All right,
So let's take a look Speedy. Speedy's having to do
adders job to the adders off today, So Speedy doing
double duty. Let's have a look at the female officers

(01:13:12):
cut eight. Now, keep in mind, we're not trying to
be mean here, because you know it's not our nature.
I'm not trying to be mean here. As long as
everybody I'm all about diversity, as long as we don't
compromise the standard in order to achieve diversity. I do

(01:13:34):
not believe you have to lower the standard to achieve diversity.
I think that there may be nothing more degrading than
saying the only way to achieve diversity is to lower
the standard. Do you realize what we're saying. So I'm
all about and there's some great ones women and law enforcement,
you know all about it, but you kind of have

(01:13:55):
to be able to handle and apprehend people. And in
this case, it's it's going on, and of course at
a classy joint. This is it Hooters. Female officers are
trying to get a man out of Hooters. He must
he can't weigh more than one hundred and forty pounds,
and they can't get him. I mean, he's just throwing

(01:14:17):
them around. They can't get him under control. I mean,
this is a tiny little fella, and I don't know
if I should use audio shit I hear one of
those officers is accent bigger than him. Yeah, And I
just sampled the audio and I think it's okay.

Speaker 5 (01:14:31):
There's just a guy that he's just rolling video and
he's like, one point, he goes, I believe in you.

Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
Right, So what happens in this footage for those of
you that can't see it, I mean, how much do
you think that man wears one hundred and forty fifty
like that, not a big man at all, and they
can't control him, got his hood on and there they are.
They cannot get him cuffed. He keeps overpowering them. He
just gets away whenever he wants to. And finally does

(01:14:57):
Hooters have a security guy. I don't know who this
guy is. He just a patron. Maybe he look at her,
look at her, look at her.

Speaker 3 (01:15:05):
Look.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
They can't control it. The brunette at one point like
looks and goes, hey, can you can somebody help? They
have to do somebody to help me, somebody help that.
So I'm just wondering that this looked right here, like
please help me. I'm just I'm just wondering. And look,
he's not trying to hit anybody or anything. He's just
he's just grappling. They just they can't. They they're trying

(01:15:28):
to cuff him and he won't let them. Now here
comes top of the crack. He gets him under control.
Now he's going back to eat. Yeah, it took him
ten what maybe five? He threw that guy down in
about five seconds. They could not get him under control.
Just look at them trying to get Can you imagine
them trying to get a big fellow down? Oh no,
I mean, I mean, I'm not hear me. I'm not

(01:15:51):
trying to be disrespectful, But don't you have to pass
some sort of tests, yeah, to to be able to
handle I'm just I'm gonna say this. Goodness, he wasn't violent.
Oh yeah, he just didn't want because if he would
have been violent, he could have hurt him. Because they
can't control it, and I don't know the dynamics, they
could have shot him. But I mean, yes, it's not
I'm just saying though, if he decided to haul off

(01:16:12):
start punching, they got their hands full. Maybe we have
co ed you know, partners here. They can't. They can't
even get his phone out of his hand. I mean, guys,
it's like you said, it's a tiny little bit and
big fella comes over. I mean, I'm at four Mississippi
five minutes. That took him five goes back five seconds,
he goes back to five seconds. I'm gonna finish my

(01:16:34):
wings if y'all don't mind, right, And look, guys, that's
not a good feeling. I mean, I would hate. I mean,
I know they have a weapon and this is not
the time to use it. But shouldn't they be able
to hit him with the flashlights. Shouldn't they be able
to physically bring somebody under control, because they certainly they can't.

(01:16:57):
And look, look, i mean, just like he's on something.
I got that, but he's resisting that. He's on in defense.
He's not, you know, trying to attack nobody it. He
just will not let him get it. They can't get
his leg down. They can't do anything. Now he might
be worry. But guys, if you can't get him down,
I want you to picture. You walk up and there's

(01:17:17):
old big fella and he's had too much to drink.
He's knocking tables over like like this, and here that
helped him. I'm sure that police force has you know, training,
This would this would be this would be in the
next class right here. You know, we got problems all right,
so I need to blur his crack out, my nigga
afraid that. Yeah, I do want to ask those of

(01:17:40):
you that are in law and said I want my
track back, Uh Shannonoah River. So those of you in
law enforcement that have seen this video, why why we're
not tasing him? Don't taste me?

Speaker 14 (01:17:57):
Bro?

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Shouldn't there have been a taser?

Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
Situ?

Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
Did they not have a taser? I don't know. Somebody
helped me. How about this? Physically they can't get him,
so I would think that taser would be next, right, Yeah,
this look right here says it all. Please help please
when you have to go to the men that are
at Hooters to put their wings down, and big fella

(01:18:22):
who's about four, n he's got to come over and
do it. It's so funny. He got up after he
pinned him down just in seconds and then he just
walked off. He got him down so fast that his
wings didn't even get cold. No right back, So what
what does that? That doesn't make me feel great? I mean,
did do we lower the physical standards to reach some

(01:18:45):
sort of diversity quota? I mean, I'm just I don't
understand why they couldn't get him under control. And those
of you that haven't seen it, we're we're talking about
a small man, not a big man at all. Of course,
I'm sure competing against him in sports the would be
no problem there at all. It Wow, top of the hour.

(01:19:07):
We'll come back. Much more to do coming up, unscreened
phone calls coming up. We got more hay birds, We've
got more stories today and we think we can Dicky
nadmyre on the phone today after the big Bama victory
wears his head now on top of the hour, we'll
be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:19:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. You better listen up.
You know, like we say.

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
As a name, you gotta.

Speaker 15 (01:19:48):
Find the voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The
Rick Bircher's Show About It America.

Speaker 2 (01:20:00):
Thanks for being with us. Adler on vacation today. He
has an off day, but we do have oh, Greg
and Speedy and yours truly birds. We're all hanging out
coming up this hour. Dicky Nadmire, Yeah, yeah, y'all emailed
all weekend. Speedy found him. Don't know his status. We'll

(01:20:21):
find out coming up this hour. So for those of
you that try to capture that. It'll be on the
archives today later too, to share with friends who may
or may not missed it. As we start the hour,
you got Greg, you got Speedy, They're all here. A

(01:20:41):
couple of reminders I want to hit you with tomorrow.
Two manchurch conferences in twenty twenty six, back to back,
last two weekends of January. Startville, Mississippi, Birmingham, Alabama. Those
tickets go on sale tomorrow. The link will be at
the Maanchurch dot com. We start worked this hour with
more hay birds some questions. This is hey birds. Here's

(01:21:15):
what the listener says. This is going to show the
insanity of the world that we live in. Here we go,
she says, this is one of those stories you just
can't make up. Had to go to the big box
store to buy an adapter for my laptop. Everybody with
me because the electronics were all in locked case. In

(01:21:38):
the locked case, I had to ask an associate to help. Yep,
you ready for the associate, Greg. She wants you to
listen closely. The associate I found was about six to
two and had a five o'clock shadow. Okay, it doesn't
sound strange. They were also wearing a skirt and a
button that said she slash her. Here's where it gets crazy.

(01:22:06):
We're not there yet, I guess. But anyway, what I
asked for the adapter that I needed, and the associate said,
I remember how the social spent. Which end is the
female end?

Speaker 1 (01:22:23):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:22:24):
I'd like to ask you that I stopped myself from saying,
have you ever asked yourself that question?

Speaker 3 (01:22:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:22:29):
I'm sorry, no, no, no, no. That's why she wanted
you to listen. She knew that would be which I
think was a moment of personal growth for me that
I didn't say that the adapter was located and the
transaction complete, let me ask someone else. You obviously don't
don't know where it is. But the list of one
liners has continued hours later. You just can't make this

(01:22:52):
stuff up. What is going on in our work? We
can ask you the same question I want, But here's
really Yes, all the one liners, yes, but think about
also the absurdity of the person pretending to believe one thing.
But when it came down to this, what's the analogy
they went to? I know, see, everybody knows this is

(01:23:14):
not something that pretty much if there's anything that God
seems to be crystal clear on I mean, if you
never ever had never been here. Okay, let's say you've
never been here, you were just dropped out of nowhere
on planet Earth. You don't know the one and only
living God. You don't know where you came from. You

(01:23:35):
don't know who he is, you don't know what he's doing.
Or let's say you believe that all this came from nothing.
You don't believe in God whatever, every one of us,
regardless of where you think humans came from, you don't
know anything. You've never even seen a human. And all
of a sudden you walk up and somebody says, we'd

(01:23:57):
like to get you versed on humans. And they said okay,
And they say, we have two models here of human
beings in their in their birthday suits, completely nude, and
you get you had a gander. You looked over here
and said, now, what is this one? They said, well, no,
that that's a female. Okay, okay, what's over here? That
this is a male? You would go, oh, I see

(01:24:17):
how this works. Yeah. I mean it wouldn't even be
up for debate. I mean would be oh, okay, I
see that. Okay. It almost looks like a puzzle, doesn't it? Well,
yes it does.

Speaker 15 (01:24:28):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:24:28):
And so anyway, the fact that that person claiming that
all this is fluid and gray and and you know
it's not. And then when you get down to which
adapter do you need? What analogy does that person use? Interesting? Childly, funny, sad, sad,
very sad, hey bird hey Burge helped me here. I'm

(01:24:50):
thirty years old and I'm an Auburn fan. Okay, it's
only been two years of my life that they've taken
from me so far. What do you mean?

Speaker 10 (01:25:00):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
I see, No, I had that wrong. It's only been
two years of my life that they had a chance
to win a national championship. Okay, excuse you. I had
that back. Yeah. I'm still going to be an Auburn fan.
But I'm thinking to myself, I should pick another team
to pull far, just so I can enjoy football seasons
a little more, Maybe one that has a chance to
win it almost every year. I'm not going to be
pulling for Ohio States. You don't mention them, are USC

(01:25:23):
a Obama. It's got to be somebody else. I can't
pull for Ohio State, USC or Obama. Can you get
me in another team. Well, I would think Georgia. Georgia
is a good one. Yeah, I mean, I know they
got beat by Obama this weekend and a great game,
but they're they're you know, Kirby's going to have them
in the mix that you're You're not You're gonna have
mostly good seasons. Yeah, yeah, you're gonna definitely. By the way,

(01:25:45):
my favorite Kirby smart quote from the weekend so far,
when they somebody try to hit him with his one
in seven record against Alabama, he said, before you get
on me, did you check theirbouts's record against him? I
bet I'm in a pretty good company. Okay, great, Where
are they? Where are these people that beat Bama all
the time?

Speaker 3 (01:26:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
Where are they?

Speaker 7 (01:26:03):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
So Sandy's going for a row, right, So would you
you say Georgia they're always pretty much there.

Speaker 5 (01:26:10):
Which one they said? Ohio State's off, they cannot pull
for them. The Oregon Ducks, I mean, Oregon is good one.
They seemed always that's good. They always quacking Oregon.

Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
Is the Georgia thing? I think, Yeah, yeah, Georgia, they're
going to be in the mix, you know, so they're
going to be there. I've started seeing more of Miami Hurricane.
Uh too, swag to new Yeah, have Florida State this weekend?
How do I have that right?

Speaker 7 (01:26:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
Yeah, of course. Now Virginia's ruined that game a little bit.
By the way, I looked, what's the coach of Florida
State's name? Coach at Florida State? Oh yeah, what's his name? Good?
I have no idea what his name is. I do
see him Norvale. Yeah, okay, I told Greg and Speedy.
I don't know if you saw it. I didn't see
the game, but I've seen the highlights. It's almost you

(01:26:55):
could tell like you I've been I've done this before.
When you pulled them for your team and you're you're
playing team you're supposed to beat and you're not doing well,
you keep thinking you're still gonna win. You never you
don't get to the point where you well, I know
we've been sloppy, we got a lot we got to
work on, but we're gonna win.

Speaker 7 (01:27:09):
This.

Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
His face when all the Virginia of the kids are
everywhere and going nuts, which we're doing this too much,
but anyway, going nuts, He's standing in the middle of it.
Like I saw his face, you know, his face was
so we lost. Yeah, how do we lose this game?
How do we get beat by Virginia? It's like you
could tell he couldn't believe it happened, but in Virginia

(01:27:31):
went crazy. By the way, have you heard you may?
I don't know if we can find it. I'm not
telling you try to find it now. I heard the
call of the Virginia play by play guy and he
was fantastic.

Speaker 10 (01:27:41):
It was nuts.

Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
He kept saying, this is not a dream. It was
so funny. Drinking the kids of the commonwealthy crowd in
the field. Of course, well rushing field, won't we we're
rushing the field. Indiana is starting to be consistent. If
you're looking for something brand new, that's true.

Speaker 6 (01:28:00):
You know.

Speaker 2 (01:28:00):
I find myself checking on them and I go, hey,
one again, how about and Illinois got hammered last week?
But they beat usc That's that was weird. So I
would think, Nathan, if you're looking for something that you're
going to be in the mix every year, I gotta say,
Georgia Oregon are two pretty good picks, you know. If
you if you can't pull for a hot state, and
he said he can't, and he can't pull for Baton

(01:28:22):
and he can't pull for usc for suming. Also, one
of the textors are right, Auburn and Georgia, big rival.
Oh you like he didn't put them on the list though,
But that's a great point. You're right. I didn't think
about that. So you think he meant to put them
on the list and didn't. So why don't you just
get as far away from it as you can and

(01:28:43):
go Oregon? Yeah, we're gonna have to. Yeah, I think
that's a good choice for you. Oh boy, I just
got word or something. What Look, who's on the table.
He's ready admire yep, all right, we're here from we'll
hear from Nicky hanging there.

Speaker 3 (01:29:04):
We come back.

Speaker 2 (01:29:07):

Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
Hey, he is in the dead. Yeah, Remma, jamma, callahamma.
You sound kn't b Bama.

Speaker 2 (01:30:34):
Sounds a little different last time?

Speaker 3 (01:30:36):
He does.

Speaker 2 (01:30:36):
You sound a little bit more upbeat, my friend.

Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
Well, I wasn't gonna go to the game because I
was done with the Tide.

Speaker 2 (01:30:42):
Oh boy, yeah, you told us that.

Speaker 3 (01:30:44):
Yeah, and you remember I made some suggestions with Kaylin
Deber needed to do to turn the Tide around. I'd
like to thank him for listening to me, and Bama
Nation could thank me for turning around the Tide I gave.
I told them what they needed to do, and they've done.

Speaker 2 (01:31:03):
It, including this. I bet you came out with that
pass to the big lineman.

Speaker 3 (01:31:08):
Yeah, I said to again, our best athletes the ball.
Well he is weighed three and sixty pounds rambling.

Speaker 2 (01:31:18):
Honestly, I don't know that that's fair, that big and
that athletic.

Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Well, what we we are? You know, we have an elephant.
It's kind of our code with the Tide, but with
the peccadern And when when big fellow was rolling down
the sideline. It was a real life elephant on the
way to the end zone.

Speaker 5 (01:31:37):
Rode Look, Dicky, we we're going to have to just
let's just let's call you out a little bit here
and get your response.

Speaker 2 (01:31:45):
You had written Bama off you.

Speaker 5 (01:31:48):
You claim when the boar was done, you were done,
and and and of course you had this big win
and and now you seem like you're all in.

Speaker 3 (01:31:58):
I didn't pay for it, the dickts you what you want.

Speaker 2 (01:32:01):
I did not pay for tickets, Okay, So you weren't
gonna support them until they earned that right.

Speaker 3 (01:32:06):
I got four tickets from a guy who said he
was gonna be raptured there was gonna be no game,
so he just gave him.

Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
To because he figured you what made the cut? Okay?

Speaker 3 (01:32:18):
I guess he thought I was gonna burn in hell?

Speaker 10 (01:32:25):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:32:25):
But so you you you justified going to the game
because you didn't pay for him?

Speaker 3 (01:32:28):
Is that what?

Speaker 2 (01:32:29):
Yeah? You got?

Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
I will go to the Tide and see if the
Tide can can earn my ongoing support. So Phyllis and
I went and h we we we took the two
older boys, uh Johnson and Peter and we and we
went of course, you remember how proud we were of
our youngest from from he he let his sentiments be

(01:32:50):
known to the world back at the Florida State and Debacle.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
He did, Yeah, he did.

Speaker 3 (01:32:54):
And of course that's Nicky Doo. Who's who's Dicky Jr.
But he was not able to be with us because
he's currently running the tilta World at the carnival.

Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
Oh okay, all right, so he couldn't make it.

Speaker 3 (01:33:07):
Well, which is it's an upgrade from the buffet cars.
People don't know that what it is.

Speaker 2 (01:33:11):
Line of progression there, Okay, broke that.

Speaker 5 (01:33:14):
So now be honest, when when it started the way
it did and you saw how it was going, were
you surprised or did you believe?

Speaker 3 (01:33:22):
Never doubted? No, never, never doubted the Tide. I knew
we turn it around. I knew, and I knew the
boy was around her.

Speaker 2 (01:33:30):
Oh wow, that's something.

Speaker 3 (01:33:34):
Who are we talking?

Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
I don't know. And as Greg pointed out, because Phillis
said she was watching y'all by the way, Greg Billy said, hey, Gregy, Andy,
Greg said it right. The Tides on the way to
another national championship, tell y'all, And coming up on a

(01:33:57):
Saturday coming up this Saturday. Well, we got a little Mexican.

Speaker 2 (01:34:04):
You do host bandy game day?

Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
Is there?

Speaker 2 (01:34:06):
Pretty much put it on you last.

Speaker 3 (01:34:10):
They met us with an illegal. That's the reason why
I say protect the borders. They met us. He's a
little Mexican and and and you know now Mexicans they
can run fret quick road, tie.

Speaker 2 (01:34:31):
Free.

Speaker 3 (01:34:31):
Quiet. Let me tell you something to know. Let me
tell you something for little pathy eye got up this Saturday.
Coming up this Saturday, we gonna we're gonna beat little Bandy,
which ain't you know? I was opt off. The Tide
was done when they met us, because at that point,
as I pointed out, you basically got beat by hospital

(01:34:57):
and they got him a little coach. Oh I love
and I'm a little co chuck. Oh no, no, Bandy,
I'm here to go get Vandy. Ready. Well let me
tell you come come this Saturday. The Tide is bringing
Hay and help a little Maxon. Ain't never come to
bright Denny. You're gonna he's gonna gonna roll into Brighton Denny.
And he's gonna wish you never even heard of bright Danny.
You're gonna wish he never even saw the tide. You don't, Hey,

(01:35:18):
you don't fish the salt?

Speaker 2 (01:35:20):
Whoa Dicky? You night? Now he's used to playing in
front of in front of some huge crowds of vandy
he is, even though half the stadium is under construction.

Speaker 6 (01:35:29):
Now.

Speaker 5 (01:35:29):
Now, when he beat y'all last year, I guess you thought, Hey,
he's done. But are you glad he's coming to t town?
So y'all pay that because he got another unfl.

Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
Well you know, you know, you know what the little
saying that the pecan pie served up hot is the
best way to go.

Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
Yeah, that summed it up, Oh Dicky.

Speaker 3 (01:35:52):
Or as they saying, Georgia p can he can let
me tell you they can take a pecan berens on.
They got beat Kirby, Kirby Kirby, Ye Charlie, I left Bama.
That turned out not to be so smart.

Speaker 2 (01:36:04):
Yeahs had terrible coat. He's really struggled left the time.

Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
How about this. We we let me tell you this
right now. We own a little Kirby the way but
down a button on rich window.

Speaker 2 (01:36:21):
A former time.

Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
Yeah, okay, can't do nothing with it, broad tide, So.

Speaker 2 (01:36:27):
Let's talk here. Are you already in Tuscaloosa. Got you
r v Yard. Are you on the way?

Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
We already here?

Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
Oh so you're ready for game? You were ready for
the week.

Speaker 3 (01:36:38):
Well we came over.

Speaker 12 (01:36:39):
We did.

Speaker 3 (01:36:39):
We we left Georgia because everybody went, I have you
ever been to Georgia? As soon as you leave the
better Yeah. And we made our way back to the
Brant Museum where, of course, where I said in the
parking lot and whipt to the bird that we're back,
and and uh and then we're ready. We're gonna be here.
I'm gonna get the stern up. I can't wait. I

(01:37:01):
can't wait for the Pavia. I can't wait for him
to come down, him bringing Vandy. Were scared of Bandy.
We're gonna be Vandy by forty?

Speaker 2 (01:37:08):
That was you watch out it out there? And do
you do you believe it?

Speaker 14 (01:37:13):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (01:37:13):
Okay, he's back. He's back. With the time, he's back,
never left, he said. We can't dispute that.

Speaker 3 (01:37:22):
Never doubt Hey, Greg, you hurt me on record, I
never doubt it.

Speaker 2 (01:37:29):
Are you gonna be the guest picker? Have they have
they asked you?

Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
Uh what I mean? I'm suggested maybe they should get
James Spam.

Speaker 2 (01:37:37):
Now you know what they actually should. That would be
awesome for.

Speaker 3 (01:37:40):
Expand to be on there, And I mean, as long
as I can sit there next to him.

Speaker 2 (01:37:44):
I probably worked that out.

Speaker 3 (01:37:45):
Yeah, yeah, I wonder what I wanted. A little little
curve and you know, Saban's coming back to Brighton. Denny.
Now we'll say this, Yeah, let's let's have some respect
for Save, but we're gonna put him in the line
suit having me nice grog.

Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
Yeah, I was wondering how you found him out.

Speaker 3 (01:38:00):
This is Nick. Don't gone saving. We don't put Saving
in line sweaters and have him eaten eating ice cream
in front of the country Dick.

Speaker 2 (01:38:11):
You we got to go, I mean, like right right now,
but maybe we can talk to you at the end
of the week.

Speaker 3 (01:38:15):
Row tied. He's back. He is never loud.

Speaker 1 (01:38:21):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 7 (01:38:33):
I know.

Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
The most dangerous ten minutes in radio unscreened phone calls.
Get in though by dialing one eight eight eight six,
Big Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:38:44):
All right, unscreen phone calls. Verse one of the week.
Here we go, all ten lines of blazing. They're open
up and we take them on the fly. The most
ten dangerous ten minutes in radios. You're ken Osborne said,
I mean, you know, there's nothing between you and us,
no screener. We screen on the fly and we make

(01:39:06):
the call in real time. Lines are open now if
you want to join us. Uh. By the way, this
is funny. This is almost leading to the story we're
gonna do next segment.

Speaker 7 (01:39:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:40:16):
Go ahead, morning frills.

Speaker 7 (01:40:18):
How y'all doing.

Speaker 2 (01:40:19):
We're good? Hope you're well?

Speaker 6 (01:40:21):
Yes, sir, I'm a tuber and this morning I didn't
catch the first half of the show, so I didn't
realize that it wasn't there. And whenever Speedy was talking,
I saw I was playing clips of him and he
done went on with the good Lord this week in.

Speaker 1 (01:40:36):
Wait, that's a.

Speaker 2 (01:40:39):
Good babe. People take off. It's fine, it's all right.
I know it doesn't seem like we ever take off,
but we do. Rick Burgess Show. Unscreenphone calls, go ahead, right,
they're back, They're back.

Speaker 7 (01:40:56):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:40:57):
Did Dicky say he never never do never down the
Rick verd your show? Unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 12 (01:41:02):
Go ahead, Yes, Hey, I just wanted to call this
morning and tell how much we appreciate y'all in the morning,
because I'm not able to listen to the show with
my child in the car, and he loves Greg. For
some reason, we saw much we appreciate y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:41:20):
Did you just say you can listen to me and
your kids. Love Greg.

Speaker 12 (01:41:25):
Yes, yes, I know it's a strange child.

Speaker 2 (01:41:30):
Be proud, be proud. It could be much worse. That's
right up there with this first step. Yeah, that's right.
You know what it is you becoming a granddad down
there has really endeared you to children. Well, let me
just say this. I walk in Saturday. We were keeping
two over and your full day of football.

Speaker 7 (01:41:45):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:41:45):
Oh yeah, and the first thing they said is will
you play with me? Papa? That right, That's exactly what
they said. So I never saw nothing. I just played
with kids. Well you didn't even hesitate. No, can you
play with us, Papa? Of course I can. So here
we go. God, Greg gets incredible wild. On top of
I tell people all the time your comment, which I
think is a great one, that being a grandparent is

(01:42:06):
one of the few things in life that lives up
to the hut. That's all right, Uh we continue Rick
Burder's show unscreen phone calls, go ahead, Yeah, guys, I.

Speaker 3 (01:42:14):
Just want to know y'all probably didn't get to watch
Cowboys in uh Green Bay last night. Yeah, but that
was a good game. It was a tie.

Speaker 10 (01:42:24):
But my question is what's up with the Cowboys got
the rainbow colors across or logo or they didn't on
the ABC crew or what's what's up with that?

Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
Y'all know, I didn't notice there is that on the field. Yeah,
I didn't notice that. I hadn't seen it. So I'm
not sure because we're just now hearing about it. So thin.
Jerry Jones came out, by the way I did. That's
a joke. I don't report that. I did hear him
trying so hard to act like him trading. Yeah, did

(01:42:56):
you hear? You not know the same way I felt?

Speaker 14 (01:42:57):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:42:58):
Herschel came back and I was just but I keep
thinking about how good a trade we made. Yeah, and
how we can win the Super Bowl. Oh wow, Rick
Burgess show unscreen phone calls, go ahead, Hey, I think
it was old.

Speaker 12 (01:43:09):
Miss Adler needs to pull it up on TikTok or something.

Speaker 6 (01:43:13):
And then uh.

Speaker 8 (01:43:14):
Hackling l s U players and they as they were
walking around the field, and they were flipping off the
players cutting on the ails.

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
Pretty funny, Pretty funny. No, I thought he was gonna
be upset about it. Yeah, pretty funny. Good one loved
every minute of it. Look especially in the SEC or anywhere. Yeah,
the rivalries and the way people act y.

Speaker 5 (01:43:35):
Yeah, did you see when Oregon beat Penn State they
ran straight down to the Penn State student body and started,
you know, just giving it to them right there in
the in the end zone.

Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
Well, I've been looking at that wide out. Yeah, you know.
Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead for the poor,
never doubt it. Everybody's back, never doubt back. Rick Burgess Show,
unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 3 (01:44:02):
Go ahead, Doctor Burgess.

Speaker 2 (01:44:05):
Yes, sir, that was okay. I thought that was Willie.

Speaker 3 (01:44:13):
All right.

Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
People are saying the multi colored logos says it's actually
the NFL and it's all it's cancer awareness. Yeah, I
saw purple on They're saying it's various cancers because you know,
now every form of cancer is getting their own color
ribbon or something. So okay, maybe because I think I
remember saying some type of purple something. Yeah, now, okay,

(01:44:36):
they said said every team I watched on the red
zone had some rainbow deal in the end zone. Uh oh,
now this would not be cancer. They said. It said
choose love. I don't know, I don't you know what
I don't Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls. Go ahead, Hello,

(01:44:58):
my name's Nash.

Speaker 10 (01:44:59):
I would look from Alabama.

Speaker 12 (01:45:01):
We watched your show every morning.

Speaker 2 (01:45:05):
Thank you. I appreciate that very much. For just a minute,
I thought it was no people.

Speaker 3 (01:45:10):
I mean it was.

Speaker 2 (01:45:12):
Rick Burgess show onscreen phone.

Speaker 3 (01:45:16):
Good morning fellas. Hope y'all are doing well.

Speaker 16 (01:45:18):
I thought about something the other day, and uh, you know,
after Adler kissed that fish, the fish tank started.

Speaker 3 (01:45:24):
Turning colors, and.

Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
Absolutely true, wondering if I'm wondering if that bacteria maybe
came from Adler. You know what, He's right, Crystal was
perfectly fine, and now it looks like a like some
type of smoothie, you know what. That that's what I'm
worried about.

Speaker 7 (01:45:44):
That.

Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
He's right that that tank was clean as a whistle
until smooth stuff on the fish. Yeah. Some of you
saying that this is the lacking there in the past,
I thought October was only breast cancer month. But they're
saying now it's cancer awareness in general.

Speaker 5 (01:46:00):
Yeah, yeah, it's and if a multi color NFL logo
for cancer Crucial Catch NFL's Crucial Catch for cancer awareness.

Speaker 2 (01:46:08):
Which means early detection gives you the best chance of
survivals out with that about I guess so I hadn't
read up on it.

Speaker 5 (01:46:13):
I'm just seeing all the images and that's that's what
and every team has like you know, like the Colts,
the Colts tackle cancer and it's got theirs and yeah,
I got you.

Speaker 2 (01:46:22):
Well good Rick Bird's Show, unscreen phone calls, go.

Speaker 3 (01:46:24):
Ahead, Okay your Alabama soup.

Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
Okay, here we got true Georgia Saturday.

Speaker 7 (01:46:37):
Uh, good morning guys, and God bless thank you. Hey,
I was wondering if there would be a possibility if
you guys could bring in the wives one day for
like a women's Bible.

Speaker 2 (01:46:49):
Study or something. Well, thanks for calling. Some ideas aren't great. Yeah,
let me tell you. There's no way we bring these
women in here together and unleash them.

Speaker 3 (01:46:59):
No way.

Speaker 2 (01:47:00):
Yeah, yeah, we won't have a chance. Yea, we wouldn't
have a chance. Now, if they want to get together
and do a women's Bible study, you know, or something
that's that they got, that's their own business. Yeah, but
come in here and tell it all. At least it's
trash me enough on the phone in person, So come on,
Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls, Go ahead, Hey.

Speaker 17 (01:47:22):
Speedy, old Smokey shove at cawboll up that budget bought out.

Speaker 2 (01:47:25):
Yet he didn't shove nothing. He got pretty close. Yeah, yeah,
nobody expected that. I would say, if you're Tennessee and
what was Missispi State last year? Did they win? They
they they didn't win an SEC game. I think they
only won two games. And you're supposed to be top five,
top five team, I mean nothing against Missisi State wins

(01:47:46):
a win. They've been playing great all season. But I
don't know that it was a trash talking win. Yeah, no, no,
I've heard from some Valls fans. They're like, hey, we
were lucky to get out of that. And they also
had a great time. They some of them made it
little Dewey's and just had a blast and artful, they said.
And Tennessee pulled it off. Yeah yeah, And credits to
Tennessee they did. They found a way. But let me
tell you when it's not a trash talking win, when

(01:48:07):
the team you beat leaves feeling good about their team.
Yeah yeah, yeah, and they should yeah and they should.
Rick just not the right the right game to call?
Yeah right, uh, Rick Burgers show unscreen phone calls. Go ahead, Hey, Rick,
I got something for you.

Speaker 17 (01:48:23):
Okay, you guys were talking earlier about the female officers not.

Speaker 16 (01:48:26):
Able to take down the guy.

Speaker 2 (01:48:27):
Yeah, cash Cash.

Speaker 7 (01:48:29):
Brittel was put under massive scrutiny because he said females
trying to join the FBI had to do one pull
up and they called him a bigot.

Speaker 2 (01:48:37):
Well, I hope that's not true. I mean none, that's true.
I've never been very good at pulling. Now me either,
I mean I will. I mean there's women that can
definitely do more pull ups than me. But but but
one Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls go ahead, Hey, hey, hey, you.

Speaker 17 (01:49:00):
A commander's fan.

Speaker 3 (01:49:01):
I'm all in for the Cowboys being gay.

Speaker 2 (01:49:13):
There's a lot of heart into that, there was. I
love football. Don't show that. Oh yeah, all right, we
come back Florida, Florida A and m announce her in trouble.
Oh Greg, you are going to love what he did.
I can't wait. No, no one else has loved well
you will and others will. They just want admit it.

Speaker 1 (01:49:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. His wife's statement, suck
it up, buttercup, Rick.

Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
Burgess, Okay, we're back. Thanks for being with us today,
America having a glass we have heard from that Meyer.
If you miss that catch out on the archive today,
We've covered a lot already. Adler is out today. But Speedy,
Greg and yours truly here working you through another day
and starting another week. So going to the break, buddy

(01:50:17):
of mine, send me a text saying, surely y'all have
this story today. It will make Greg's day if no
one else's. And when I looked at it, I realized, yes,
this is for Greg. So Speedy set us up and
then we'll actually First of all, you've got to be
familiar with Alabama States Dance team, the honey Bees. Now

(01:50:40):
the honey Bees. There's lots to love about the honey Bee.

Speaker 5 (01:50:42):
There, big girl with good feet, they're quick, they're very
quickremely athletic.

Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
They dance extremely hard. You wouldn't really flexible, yes, but
I've seen them live. They're impressive. Don't you have like
a number you can't be under as far as wait
before you can be Honeybee, so that you have to
be big.

Speaker 5 (01:51:02):
So all I got to say is when they come
out at halftime, the stadium pays attention. I mean, everybody
stops what they're doing and like, here comes the honey bees.

Speaker 2 (01:51:09):
Or raise my hand. I'm the only one in this
room that's seen them live. No, I've seen that. You've seen,
yes them?

Speaker 7 (01:51:16):
Can you?

Speaker 2 (01:51:16):
Yeah? I was sitting there. I mean I'm talking about
pretty close too. I was very sweet them on their
home field. Very sweet ladies. They were, they cordial. When
they were dancing, coordinate, They danced really really hard. Can
you feel it in your feet? Can you when you're
standing there? Oh? Buddy, Yeah, you're talking about like I
heard coming. I wasn't going to say the term would

(01:51:37):
not like I was just you could have just seen
when they do the splits and you're thinking, no way
they get up what they do they did like it's nothing.
It's nothing. They're like that big lineman that caught that
bath for Alabama. You compare them to an offensive lineman.
They just know. I think you got them, you got
them playing tackle for Obama. But honestly, I believe that
it's part of their appeal. So I don't know why

(01:51:59):
they would be some athletic big big people are fantastic
now and everybody loves it. I'm getting from textanation that
you got to wait at least two fifty now. I
don't know if there's fun, I don't know about that.
We can't go.

Speaker 3 (01:52:13):
Hey.

Speaker 2 (01:52:13):
So one of their big rivals is Florida A and M.
Oh yeah. The band announcer for Florida for Florida A
and M is in trouble.

Speaker 5 (01:52:23):
Is they they finish their halftime show, the honey Bees do,
and they're wrapping it up. They've just finished, and the
announcer is in trouble for saying this.

Speaker 4 (01:52:35):
Congratulate them there now the new face there. Now, the
new face there now the new face.

Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
Reaction not good? Not him about it.

Speaker 5 (01:53:00):
Well, the university has had to issue a statement of apology.

Speaker 1 (01:53:06):
Uh and he is uh.

Speaker 2 (01:53:09):
Actually wears, well, they're not promoting Joe Bullard. Oh, Joe
Bullard was in uh some hot water. So Joe made
a conscious decision on this is what I'm going to say. Ready,
This is you know when you think about there's rivalries
in football, but there's rivalries and bands, especially the historic

(01:53:30):
black colleges. And uh, let me tell you something. They
got a fight one year at city class.

Speaker 5 (01:53:35):
Oh yes, well the uh there's a website h b
c U sports dot com. They have a story that
Quentin Ross Junior, the Alabama state president it did not
sit well with him.

Speaker 7 (01:53:47):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (01:53:47):
He was not happy, says Uh. Those comments were short
sighted and demeaning the reaction.

Speaker 2 (01:53:53):
With the crowd, says Uh from from from text Nation.
As an Auburn fan, maybe we should talk to Alabama
A and M. That may be the solution for our
offensive line. But look, that's bad now. Now, look I'm
being serious.

Speaker 5 (01:54:12):
Y'all think I'm kidding when when I have seen them live,
you know a lot of times people are running to
the concession stand doing their own thing. They stop and
they turn around and they put on an unbelievable show
and they're they're slinging, they're they're no and to being
I was as close as from me to you from them,
they're so in it, I mean you, and they take

(01:54:35):
it very serious. There's no joking around. Only drawback is
when they're on real grass.

Speaker 2 (01:54:40):
It looks like a bunch of armadalers when they leave
have been out goodness. So you're just trying to that's
just natural. I'm not going to start my week in
the meeting. I'm not.

Speaker 5 (01:54:50):
So they're going to go straight to you. Don't don't
email me, management, don't call me, but go straight to gress.

Speaker 2 (01:54:57):
Your so artificial, so it's not a big deal. It's
one of the few times in football that during a
game after half halftime the field crew comes back on
the okay, now to get it ready for play, come
to the ground. Well, God love them, they can dance,
they can't them. Presidents had to apologize. Oh yeah, yeah,

(01:55:17):
I mean the president of the university. Yeah, that guy
couldn't wait to use that one again. If you're just
joining us the uh the band director for Florida A
and M said.

Speaker 4 (01:55:28):
Them there now the new face.

Speaker 2 (01:55:44):
Yeah, but you're right, Greg, No, they're not that mean
because Ozmpic wants people who actually want to lose one. Yeah,
if you're part of the honey Bees, that's that's a
requirement you gotta have.

Speaker 4 (01:55:53):
At them there now the new face.

Speaker 2 (01:56:11):
You know you're doing? They do it well right. I've
never seen them live, so I'm a little envious of
you two. You don't understand I've seen, idiot.

Speaker 5 (01:56:19):
Not only did I have good feet, but they're they're
so in sync, in sync and flexible. I'm like, how
did you get that leg that that high and splip
and get up and and do the things you're doing?

Speaker 2 (01:56:35):
We madot? Are you talking about an air squad. That's
just like I mean, it is. They're they're extremely agile. Yeah,
you really needed. The game I went to was actually
at Alabama State's home field, which is a real nice
field by the way, And when the band comes you
can see them coming from I mean way far off

(01:56:55):
and in that's where they take them. Stay up. It
takes them forever to get there. The commitment to it,
it's pretty cool, they said. They said they have a saying,
you ain't a lady if you ain't to eighty. I
love all that. See, that's what I'm saying. They're proud of.
It's just one thing. They're like, yeah, we're big and
we can bring absolutely yeah. Yeah. So I mean, can
you imagine, honey, be this for your own Can you

(01:57:16):
imagine trying to console your daughter because she wouldn't fat enough?
I know it because think about it. That must be
a requirement, because again there if not, then there would
be somebody small in that line. There's not that. I mean,
you got to be it's a little bigger and you've
got to be obviously very good dancer. They really are.
Florida A and M has an issue and an official apology.

Speaker 5 (01:57:37):
Oh yeah, yeah, they they were not too pleased with
what he said of all that there.

Speaker 2 (01:57:43):
Apologize for those that offended. Yep, em Rattler's you gotta
watch them. Yep you did.

Speaker 3 (01:57:48):
Top of the hour.

Speaker 2 (01:57:49):
We'll be back more to come. Uh and we'll we will.
We'll get another opportunity, but not right now for you
to also call on another unscreen phone calls, but not
right now.

Speaker 3 (01:57:59):
We'll be back.

Every day I own either option. Thank you for being
with us America as the show moves on. Okay, so

(01:59:07):
there's always signs that we're getting a little older, yet
where we're still youthful. Still got plenty, plenty plenty in
the tank. Okay, However, there's these markers or you like, Okay,
well it's happened, this one to a huge extreme. It
has finally happened. Not that I'm not a fan of

(01:59:31):
not that. Hey, it's not my thing. That's already happened before.
When it comes to super Bowl halftime shows. Okay, we're
at the point now, and I'm not trying to speak
for y'all. I have no idea who this person is.
And do you realize how popular you have to be
either in the past, are currently Oh yeah, to be
the halftime show for the super Bowl. Just run the list.

(01:59:51):
It has happened. I'll turn sixty one Lord Willing on Friday,
and it has happened. I have no idea who this
person is. Bad Bunny. What is it that's a marker marker?
This is the first super Bowl that the person that's
in it I've never heard of.

Speaker 5 (02:00:10):
I do not know this person Bad I have heard
of him, never listened to one song. But I've heard
Bad Bunny before, and where I heard it was DJ
his anti Trump rhetoric.

Speaker 2 (02:00:24):
That's where I heard it. Back. There's a few Trump No,
I mean just doing show prep.

Speaker 5 (02:00:30):
You know, we always have to do show and stuff
and there was there was a story about Bad Bunny
trashing the Trump.

Speaker 2 (02:00:37):
A big enough act to do this? Did nobody want
to do it?

Speaker 3 (02:00:41):
Is he from?

Speaker 2 (02:00:42):
Is he Puerto Rican? I believe he's in the story
you have on it. I don't have it in front
of her here it is. It's great. It's a bad
thing to do if you're an artist, because it really
puts you in the spotlight. Right, bad Bunny whose real
name here we go, speeding can A Martinez?

Speaker 6 (02:01:00):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:01:00):
It says that he he is Puerto Rican? Okay, won
Grammy Awards really for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album.
I mean, what is he? Selena? You remember she was
like real popular. Did you just call him Selena? No,
I'm just saying she was hugely popular, but we didn't
know about it. We weren't lad. But I think he's

(02:01:22):
actually is is he a pop guy in America? Whatever?
Is this some sort of what is this? You're looking
at the wrong person. Guys.

Speaker 5 (02:01:31):
I don't know my boys that they're not in this.
Bad Bunny, Bad Bunny, Bad Bunny.

Speaker 2 (02:01:38):
It is a male artist. Yeah, it looks like to
be confused with dead Mouse. Then he like one of
them DJ the Bucket and all this stuff. Yeah, no,
buckethead is the who's the one who words the bucket
on us? Said Marshmallow. There's marshmallow Head or something, marshmallow
Head marsh So this is not a DJ here, this

(02:01:59):
is an actual performer. Who is Bad Bunny? Here we go.
I'm like, you, what in the world's you're wearing there?
You know, there's been some that have come through that
you went, well, it's not my thing, but this is
a not It's not just my thing. I don't know
who this is. I've never heard of it. I haven't either,

(02:02:19):
and I don't think that's right. Somebody that's not right.
Bad Bunny was the Caddy and Happy Gilmour. You don't
think that's right now? That was like a blondheaded kid.
This Bad Bunny is from Puerto Rico or somewhere. Yeah, well,
I just googled that.

Speaker 5 (02:02:34):
He is called bad Bunny because as a child he
was forced to wear a bunny costume for a school
event and was unhappy about the photo.

Speaker 2 (02:02:42):
Blah blah blah. He shared the picture online. Uh, and
bad Bunny stuck. So it's like the is it from
a childhood frol photo? It's like Ralphie and a Christmas
story right that he said down that pink bunny suit
something like he had his own raffie experimental. Okay, it's photoshop.
I don't. I don't, Okay, So you know what, you
know what this tells me, uh burge. If you are

(02:03:05):
watching the Super Bowl this year, and I usually do,
it's usually probably the only NFL game I ever watch
all the way through, and if it's a good game,
they may talk about the new happy gilmore. So now, oh,
I didn't say that, you know now this, I think
I was saying the first one. Okay, So that's bad buddy. There.

Speaker 5 (02:03:23):
I think one of the reasons why we don't know
about Bad Bunnies. He's considered one of the best Latin
rappers of all time. He is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer,
record producer. He's been dubbed King of Latin Trap. Bad
Bunny is credited with helping Spanish language rap music achieve
mainstream popularity in the worldwide market. He is considered the

(02:03:46):
best Latin rapper of all time. Well, just to be fair,
how many Latin rappers have they been? Yeah, not exactly
a strong conference.

Speaker 2 (02:03:55):
So so anyway, to each his own, if if y'all
want to watch Bad Bunny now become you know, the
cranky old man. I don't know who this is, new
new fangled bunny person. You know what? I now can
get something to eat at halftime, Yeah, go to the bathroom. Sure,
I've got time to get ready for the second half

(02:04:15):
if it's still good.

Speaker 9 (02:04:17):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:04:17):
But here's somebody I do know, Dolly Parton, And boy,
you talked somebody that she's playing with Bad Bunny. By
the way, if you're interviewing Dolly Parton, have you really
accomplished anything? Apparently she's been interviewed by every magazine, every documentary.
She has postponed her Las Vegas residency due to health concerns. Dolly,

(02:04:40):
is that it? Or is there a couple of reasons?

Speaker 7 (02:04:42):
Was that it?

Speaker 2 (02:04:44):
Are you happy? That's funny? No, I didn't know if
it was just I was gonna say that's the way
to grab some a low hanging fruit, but I didn't
think that was the way to go eat. I was
just asking if it was more than one reason. She's
seventy nine. She told her fans on Instagram she needed
undergo a few procedures, okay, but wouldn't be quitting that's
happened before. Yes, it has. There we go, but wouldn't

(02:05:06):
be quitting the music business anytime soon. I want you
to hear directly from me. Unfortunately, I will need to
postpone upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know,
I've been dealing with some health challenges and my doctors
tell me that I must have a few procedures. M
She joked that this is probably this is her one

(02:05:27):
hundred thousand mile checkup. That is funny.

Speaker 3 (02:05:30):
That is that is good.

Speaker 2 (02:05:32):
That's funny. So that has always been fun right, yeah,
said because in all seriousness, given this, I'm not gonna
be able to rehearse but to go to the show
that I want you to see. So I'm gonna postpone it.
What do y'all think? Is this some sort of operations
she needs to have? She's like, what eighty one? No,
he just said seventy nine. That's what I'm saying. That's

(02:05:52):
that's probably wasn't the problem. Man, It's hard to perform
and travel and all that.

Speaker 5 (02:05:56):
This is where we five victim and I do. Look,
I'm the I'm the leader on this. I'm aging, but
I don't expect celebrities day, I know, and you hear
that they're like seventy nine, eighty eighty one, eighty three,
eighty four whatever.

Speaker 2 (02:06:08):
You're like, what, they're my dad's age. Yeah, that's true.
Are you serious? And look? Just for the record, okay,
I forgot Happy Gilmour. There was the second one because
I fell asleep when I was watching So bad Bunny is.
And by the way, and a weird twist, he will
now be taking up the Las Vegas residency in place
of Dolly Party. That's right. So how well all this together?
You know, there was a there was rumor.

Speaker 5 (02:06:31):
There was rumors that it was going to be Taylor
Swift that was going to be the halftime show, that
one make more Rodell or.

Speaker 2 (02:06:37):
Something like that, and they came out with this Last
night is America screaming for Bad Bunny at a half time?
I don't know, the probably the biggest celebration we have
in our country, you know what I mean? You remember
last year it wasn't very good. It was it wouldn't
I forget here? So there that's how bad he is.

Speaker 1 (02:06:56):
The Rick Burgess Show. Sure you played a little ball,
Rick Burgess.

Speaker 2 (02:07:14):
Acting out and welcome back for a brand new week.
Here we go. Okay, still more to come on the
program today, but I do want to talk about this.
I mean, this is really this is it almost see.
I mean it's really exciting to talk about because I
love when we take a step forward. So what is
the only thing better than having a security system that's

(02:07:35):
reactive and that's what we've always had or for a
long time, like, Okay, somebody broke in, somebody come help. Okay,
we're trying to run them off. We got a lot
of sirens going. But what if you had a security
system that was proactive and was able to keep the
break in from ever taking place? That's better? Simplysafe dot

(02:07:55):
com slash big vox fifty percent off right now, first
time system or a new system simply safe dot com
slash big vox also a link at Rick Burgess Show
dot com under sponsors. How does it work? Well, they
have AI powered cameras and they're always watching the property.

(02:08:15):
They see some dweed come up on the property, It
immediately alerts someone who's monitoring uh and the monitor gets
on there and talks to them in real time. What
are you doing? What are you doing on Speedy's property?
You don't belong here?

Speaker 9 (02:08:27):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:08:28):
Are you from the are you from the neighborhood? What
are you doing here? And then if it's trouble, it
runs them off and it alerts law enforcement and here
we go. So if you'd like to find out more,
go to simply safe, dot com, slash, big vox and
uh and and take a step forward and get and
get to a security system that's proactive, not just reactive.

(02:08:49):
Sixty day money back, money back guarantee, no long term contract, okay.
And the monitoring is a about the price of a
cup of coffee every day. And you'll get and you'll
find out more about that when you contact them. All right,
so we a lot of people. It was everywhere this weekend.
I saw it in real time. It was like I said,
it was only one football game that I saw this

(02:09:11):
past weekend. I didn't see all of it, but I
saw most of it, yep, and that was Bama and Georgia.
I missed all the other games due to you know,
responsibilities in Texas to the Man Church one day conference
traveling back. By the time I got back, you know,
we were really the night games were all that was left.
So saw most of this. I saw this happen in

(02:09:33):
real time. This is the play that everybody's talking about.
Three hundred and sixty pounds of Caden Proctor. Wow Bama
splits him out wide and gets him the ball. He
catches it like a receiver and goes rambling, knocking people,
people bouncing off of him. And it was very, very

(02:09:54):
interesting to watch the athleticism of a man so bit,
but then to watch the sheer terror of everybody that
was in his path. He really just loses footing and
falls forward. No one ever really tackles. They just start
trying to see if they can push him out of bound.

Speaker 5 (02:10:12):
I just don't know how you even accomplished this. For
those of you that cannot see, it'll be a split screen.
Kirk Herbstreet and Chris Fowler in the booth their reaction
while they're playing, while the while they're calling the play,
I should.

Speaker 2 (02:10:25):
Say, uh. And so they couldn't control themselves. They couldn't.

Speaker 5 (02:10:28):
They really couldn't. And so the play is picked up
when we got people going in motion and now he's out.
He's split out wide left crac.

Speaker 2 (02:10:34):
For the big tackle on the left side. They're gonna
throw it to him. The big fella sparrowing downhill, things
down near the pilot.

Speaker 11 (02:10:46):
Oh, feel so bad for Kyron Jones, the poor safety.
No chance to bring the big fellow down. What's thirty one?
Come up here, Chris, He sees three hundred and sixty pounds.
He just dives missus thing the big fellaw keeping a balance.

Speaker 18 (02:11:02):
Reivers, blockings for the tackle and the role from hurt right.

Speaker 2 (02:11:06):
On Q with Ryan Trump and the wrinkles in a
different because he decided to go down. Oh that is insane.

Speaker 5 (02:11:19):
I don't know it, and like like the they even
had the reaction. We did know where do you start?
Where do you even try? And I think Greg, you
said it best, and you hope that you just go
for his feet and he gets tangled out, and that's
that's the only thing.

Speaker 2 (02:11:34):
So we spent we spent the weekend sending that picture,
you know, I put it on him my Instagram over
the weekend saying, you know that we would try to
get Dicky on and we did today, but that picture
we we speedy. You play You just played offense. Did
you ever play defense? No, so you're the only offensive player,

(02:11:54):
you know, Greg, and I played defense a wingo this weekend.
I was with him. He played defense. Andy Blanks played defense,
and we were all trying to We all were just saying,
I'm Sean, you know the trainer. He played defense. I've
asked him, so what would we do to tackle him? Greg?

Speaker 5 (02:12:09):
I mean, so that guy tried, Yeah, he tried. A
rich Wingo would be the one to ask, I mean,
what did he say?

Speaker 2 (02:12:17):
He just said that he of course, you know Wingo
was was, you know, willing to to be hospitalized, not
to let somebody score work. He said, you just got
to go. And what I call Greg, you did this
as a defensive back. We didn't. We didn't do it
on the defensive line, but we would with this guy.
And that's what I called the flying squirrel, where you
have everything like this speedy and you just hit him

(02:12:40):
in the front and you and you grab him and
you just see if you can pull him down. Now,
three hundred and sixty pounds, he could break your ribs
when you fell on you right, Yeah, his legs as
you saw. That's a waste of time. It is, Yeah,
I mean, he is he is something else. Man. It's
it's almost not fair run by you and then die

(02:13:00):
for his ankles. Yeah, and if you back he ain't
going down.

Speaker 5 (02:13:04):
No, I saw this, This would be a slip que here.
I don't know where it picks up. But he was
asked about, when's the last time you did that?

Speaker 2 (02:13:13):
Listen to this.

Speaker 4 (02:13:13):
I think it was Patriots Bears nineteen eighty five.

Speaker 2 (02:13:16):
They gave the Fridge the ball at the one yard
line and he scored.

Speaker 14 (02:13:20):
Interested was that going through your mind as you were
stiff farming dudes going down the field.

Speaker 19 (02:13:24):
I was just I was obviously thinking that for the touchdown,
but anything before that I had thought to Ryan and
he was like, no, no, moment's too big for you.
So I'm just doing what we practiced and trying to
execute to the best of best of my abilities, and
got to finish with a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (02:13:42):
You know what I'm saying. I gotta finish the touchdown.

Speaker 4 (02:13:43):
That's all that's running through my mind.

Speaker 3 (02:13:44):
That's it.

Speaker 4 (02:13:45):
Almost the last time you've carried the ball game.

Speaker 2 (02:13:49):
High school, probably like junior year high school.

Speaker 19 (02:13:52):
That's the last time, kind of kind of knocking the
dust off. But but we've been we've been practicing, and
it's been been a good play.

Speaker 12 (02:13:59):
For this week.

Speaker 2 (02:14:00):
So yeah, yeah, I think so. I think so. Now
I was kind of in and out. But but if
I'm not mistaken, there seemed to be a conversation with
hotter Row where she had watched them working on it
in pregame and she had said, hey, they're throwing the
ball to the to the offensive tackle. I watched them

(02:14:21):
in pregame and that she kind of she didn't call it,
but she gave the information. I don't know if this
is something just now now I'm adding with my thought,
could just just to be something there good because I
know a lot of times in pregame teams do something
just to throw you all. Yeah, yeah, Well Coach de
Boor was asked about it too.

Speaker 18 (02:14:40):
They went in during fall camp. Uh, it was going
really well and then we had one that didn't go
well and so it got shelved for a little bit,
but brought it back out and Uh he made he
made a catch earlier in the week. Uh that gave
us a lot of confidence in the middle of practice,
sweaty hands, not a g throw, pulled it right off

(02:15:01):
the ground. So it's pretty impressive seeing a big guy
like that do what he did.

Speaker 6 (02:15:07):
Uh.

Speaker 18 (02:15:07):
And he's he's he's been pretty consistent on it. H
And so he's done his part, and our guys are
excited for him, and it's you know, it's it's a
who wants to tackle that guy?

Speaker 3 (02:15:17):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:15:17):
Who wants to tackle him?

Speaker 18 (02:15:18):
And it was he's such a great athlete and he's
worked hard to continue to even improve that.

Speaker 2 (02:15:23):
You know, well, that is the question. Who wants to
tackle that guy? If he does catch it? Nobody, If
he catches it, it's trouble. Well, you know, it's a
lot of trouble execution. You're right, if they execute it,
and they did. I mean, the receivers are blocking great.
And it was weird here. I can't remember which one
was saying it, because I was they were all both talking,

(02:15:44):
so they were so excited. But when they were saying, look,
receivers are blocking for a tackle. Yeah, you know, and
then he was running the receivers over. Yeah, I'm away.
I just uh man, I say, he that's just an
impressive Well, every lineman's dream, all of us who played
in the tier line there, and we all wanted to
run the ball so bad. Yeah, and he got to

(02:16:04):
do We got to do it. You don't know how
it feels to go If I could just get if
I could just if I could just tote the rock
one time. I think you know nobody so, y'all because
you played dB, had chances and interceptions and and of
course then you won your senior year to actually play
running back and did that even in B team and
stuff like that. You know, I had just like a
couple of random fumbles and scoop and go. Yeah, I scooped.

(02:16:26):
I did a scoop and go and nine. Great. I
think I could what does that call whatever team that
is junior? Yeah? And then I did win my senior year,
what you remember, And it was a big It was
seven yards of glory. Yes, that's a big man right there.
That's a big fellow, big big fellow. We'll be back

(02:16:47):
more coming up right after this.

Speaker 1 (02:16:50):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who could
fix the entire commercial airline industry if they would only

(02:17:13):
give him a shock.

Speaker 2 (02:17:16):
I can do it from text line. This is the
kind of stuff I'm talking about. Hey, guys, I wanted
to share a miracle I witness over the weekend. A
flight I was on had count them, now, fifteen passengers
board the plane with wheelchairs and only three needed the
wheelchair to deplane. It's a miracle. How about that that's

(02:17:37):
called playing the system. My goodness, we're gonna have to
say something. It's out of hand now over the weekend.
So we talked earlier about the trip to Orange, Texas.
It was wonderful. They were a fantastic host. We saw
a powerful, powerful day, had a lot of fun traveling
around with Wingo and Andy Blanks, and haven't spending time

(02:17:59):
with the men there. They've been so loyal to the
band church and just one of our one of our
testimonies that we like. So I, you know, this was
really really nice. So I got a text from Sherry,
my wife, and she said, what time do you think
you're going to be back? And I told her my
approximate time I'm to arrive. She said, I tell you what,

(02:18:21):
it's a beautiful weekend. H I'm I'm I'm down here
at the farm. Why don't you just head to the
farm and we'll stay here the rest of the weekend.
And I said that sounds fantastic because I really needed
to get to the farm and do some Now, keep
in mind, because it's crucial to the main story of this.

(02:18:42):
I had not been to the farm since my son
had shot a upcoming full length movie there with crew actors.
Everybody's staying, you know, in in the farmhouse and in
camp house. I had not been back the camp house
since they were there. This was my first trip back.

(02:19:06):
You were a little concerned about if they put the
deer heads back when they go there. There's a there's
a certain order, yep. I mean you're not O c D.
You just want everything in, that's right. And so Cherry
had already imagined that Sherry had already given a good
report on how they left the little farmhouse and that's
of course where we stay now. I was gonna watch
it was gonna watch football though at camp house, gouse.

(02:19:28):
I'm sorry, Sherry's the little TV in the farmhouse. It
only it only does streaming. And plus you finally got no,
that's the little tiny when that you move it there,
I moved it there, and y'all make fun of determined
to hang on to a desktop monitors but but but
camp hous laptop to have a bigger screen. Yeah, I

(02:19:50):
can watch some phones. So uh the so then I said, well,
so I said, baby, I don't want to break up.
If you if we want to have a little get
together and all that you won't watch games. I'd like,
I'd like to watch Alabama Georgia. She said that sounds great.
Let's do that. Uh, you know, won't you go over
to camp house and and get a shower and everything,

(02:20:13):
and I'll just think, I'll come on over to uh
to camp house and and we'll watch the ball game there.
And I was like, oh, that's great, man, that's great.
I mean, you saw, you saw me, and I thought,
why I'm down here. I'll get up the next day.
I'll go out and get all the cameras out for
hunting season. Oh yeah, I'll go kill all the wasp.
You know, I'll go down the trails, take the chainsaw,

(02:20:36):
you know, clear the trails. Hey, we're gonna get ready.
Were getting ready for hunting season. So a cameo on,
sook here, I am like birds checking in from the weekend.
I mean, what's better than this? How ever, getting ready
for deer hunting season, putting cameras out, chasing wasp and
you know, out of the I mean, hey, I mean
some of them you gotta and you know, Gary belt

(02:20:57):
to some some wooden ones and there. Great, but well
they'll get was so working on all that spent a
little time here uh at h at the farm and
excited to be back on Monday. Got great reports from
Orange Texas. Uh, we got some great stories from that.
We'll break down the stories from this past weekend, uh,
and just looking forward to spend some time together. So

(02:21:17):
enjoy Sunday and make plans right now to be with
us Monday for a brand new Rick Burgess show. Look
at you, how relaxed you are? You see my Texas hat? Yep,
I saw it, guys. It's just so beautiful. We loved
it so much, and then it happened. What happened, and
then it happened. So I come in from Texas on

(02:21:38):
two wheels, you know, because you get to you get
to join me at the farm from the wife you
you can get those queaks, you can. So I get
there and you know, the Pritisher girl in the whole
wide world is there and we're all excited. So going
over here to camp House, I'm gonna have a look
to see you how it's been left. And I said,
I'll go over there. Get ready join me for Alabama

(02:22:00):
Georgia on the big screen. Since Greg and Speedy made
fun of my other TV we that you now have.
I can't even believe what I'm about to say. I
remember the h d M. I courd is. Yeah, do
we sure we do? With the mystery of what it
was that I made it any clear that that need
not happen again. You think you're pretty clear. So I

(02:22:24):
am once that the camp house looks great, the deer
heads all sad to be back where they go. Uh.
My daughter in law even added a few things to
camp pause, which I think looked great. You didn't approve,
but you were good to say, right, would have been
bad that brun those Bobby, But I mean it worked out.
But no, it worked out great. So I go over

(02:22:46):
to go ahead and get the TV on so I
can get the I can get the game I need
I need. I need to get the island up. Let's go,
and I walk, I hit it and it says on
that screen, no signal. What do you mean? And you
thought no signal, no signal? I thought that was the
satellite that's out because we got satellite down there. It's

(02:23:07):
about that's about all you can do there. And I
was like hmm, And then it says no connection, Oh,
not to the satellite. Oh we're not connecting to the TV.
There's nothing connecting us to the TV. We got a problem. Yeah,
don't get not getting this. We have no source, no source.

(02:23:27):
That was it, Greg, And I'll walk it around and
I look to where the HDMI chord should have been,
and it's bear, No, that can't happen again. And then
I looked, you're telling me again, and my h d
M I chord is gone. And you would think that
would be the first thing they checked before they lay
out because of last whatever you do, I lost. I

(02:23:49):
always went short on that whatever. I went nuts, absolutely bonkers,
really uh. And I start calling the young they have
their own young movie producer, and I'm like, hey, please
tell me this hasn't happened again. I hear in the
background his lovely little bride. I told you to make

(02:24:11):
sure that that was right before we left.

Speaker 4 (02:24:12):
That had to be right.

Speaker 2 (02:24:14):
And I said, tell you what, she's right, She's absolutely correct. Ye,
and then then you and then he was like, Dad
is down I think he's down there. I don't think
we took it, I said. I said, I'll tell you what.
Who took it? It ain't it ain't where it goes.
Who took it? And I said, I said, I I mean, honestly,
I mean, I got to tell you. I mean, I'm
I'm standing here. I'm just and you know you're ever

(02:24:35):
giving people's speeches, not even necessarily. Oh yeah, you know
you're like this matters.

Speaker 4 (02:24:39):
You realize.

Speaker 20 (02:24:39):
I've come all the way from Texas and I down here,
not even been down here. And I get down here,
meet your mom, be out here, and I'm in here
trying to get this thing ready. And I go back
hair trying to watch the FI. I'm trying to watch
the game. And I get back in I can't.

Speaker 4 (02:24:50):
You don't Cord, and I dang Cord.

Speaker 2 (02:24:53):
And so you showed he blacked, I showed myself. Now
you showed yourself bad. Well keep in mind I'm trying
to have a good weekend. Oh yeah, and some set
you off. So then he said, Brody, I bet you

(02:25:15):
has it on speaker and he's holding it away. So
he says, he gives me all kinds. He said that
I think it's on the property. If not, there's one
on the property.

Speaker 3 (02:25:22):
I know.

Speaker 2 (02:25:22):
I didn't go either and not leave one. It ain't
only it needed to be back on the TV.

Speaker 4 (02:25:27):
I want to come in here and.

Speaker 19 (02:25:29):
I want my TV just like it was, and I
want to cut it on and I want to watch
the ball game.

Speaker 2 (02:25:36):
You pacing and all that. Yeah, I am. At one
time it looked like all the deer heads were saying
and so it was supposed to be all right. So
then here it comes. I go, Now I'm marching. I'd
brother be sure that that that that go look go look,
go look at go look at the farmhouse. We might

(02:25:56):
have had it over there. Let me ask you, maybe
I left it in the farmhouse. So I go march
and I'm across the yard now marching dark. Are you
still talking to him?

Speaker 8 (02:26:04):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:26:04):
Still? But why do they need your cord? Gregor?

Speaker 3 (02:26:07):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:26:08):
With all the bags of cables that I've seen him,
they don't have it there. What he said is this
time is different. We changed the TV out for the
period of time we were shooting. That TV is too
modern for what we were doing. But we put it back,
meaning the chords there. We just got to put the
chord back on it. And I asked you to do
you know, and so and then I walk in. I've

(02:26:30):
hung up at this point I walk in. Was it
hung did you hang up in discuss. Yes, I go
in and I find it inside of like this thing.
I don't even know what it is where the linens were,
like sure, it keeps linens and down and that's where
it was, and down in the bottom of it. There
it is my big green HDM my cord to be greenwood.
Why would it be there? Do it in there? And

(02:26:52):
so then you know, here's the bad moment I grab it.
Can you believe that they did?

Speaker 4 (02:26:59):
God then done that? And also sure?

Speaker 2 (02:27:02):
Because said, she goes, now, I hope you didn't jump
on that boy. You were too late, And I said, huh.
She said, please tell me you didn't get on him,
because it's here. I mean you did you just ask
him where it was? Or did you pitch your fit
about this?

Speaker 3 (02:27:16):
Well?

Speaker 2 (02:27:17):
Well, the fine fit right well as little Rick enters room. Well,
she said, I hope you didn't act up and jump
him about that, And of course you act like you
didn't act a fool up in here. I said, well,
he told me it was probably some wrong problem. She said,
did you act up? Has he called you?

Speaker 14 (02:27:37):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:27:39):
Then not too bad? He's good, not too bad? Did
you did you? Did you? Did you holler and yell
and all that, Why did you hear me? Did you
hear me from the end? Did you hear me someone?
Do you off in the distance? Do you care if
you can't? Well, we've been married long enough. Can I
just ask what answer are you looking for? For everything
to go?

Speaker 3 (02:27:59):
Well?

Speaker 2 (02:28:00):
Are you going to be upset with me if the
answer isn't desirable? She said, Well, I just I just
don't think that's necessary. I mean, he obviously he ain't
never calls us ounce of trouble. And I said, but
he can't keep I tell you you much of my agent.
You know he can't get that right, that all the
green to stand out, It ain't been nothing but a blessing,

(02:28:20):
which is right. But but I was like, nobody's perfect right.
So what I did is I went back over, took
a picture of it, said I found it, called him
back and apologized a little bit for their initial reaction,
and begged him not to talk to his mama. Yeah, wow,
so I mean it just to put it back. We

(02:28:42):
got it back.

Speaker 1 (02:28:42):

Speaker 3 (02:32:24):
And it is.

Speaker 7 (02:32:25):

think you're exactly right. You know, God always knows what
he's doing. I actually got an email that was very
moving too, if someone who found the show through strange

(02:33:10):
encounters and then the show directs onto the Wednesday Bible
Study and both her and her husband have both repented
and decided to follow Jesus. So it's interesting to watch
how it all works. We're always just stand amazed, you know,
like any old Bush will do. It's God who's wonderful,
and he's just looking for anybody willing to say. Whatever

Unscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 10 (02:33:39):

but I know for a fact Saving wore that Tiger
outfit when they were at a Penn State game last year,
and he acknowledged in one of the recent shows this
season that Game Day is about entertainment. He basically said
he's for it.

Speaker 3 (02:33:53):
An aub fan. We'll go.

Speaker 2 (02:33:55):
Yeah, that's interesting. I said it was a line. It's
been more laid back. Yeah, it's a Nitney line and
it's not a tiger but yeah, I got you. I
bet you'd have a harder time putting him in a
tiger suit. But maybe that's true. Rick Burgers show unscreen
phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 17 (02:34:10):
Hey what about all is Charlie Kirk and this kid?

Speaker 3 (02:34:13):

This kid I've never seen with the gun.

Speaker 3 (02:34:18):
What the heck's going on with have you guys been
keeping up with that?

Speaker 2 (02:34:22):
I don't know what you're talking about? Is this a conspiracy?
There's some conspiracy theory. Now I think Candace Owen's just
saying some some strange deal. Okay, we got to talk
about Candaces that one. Joe, what's going on?

Speaker 7 (02:34:33):
You know?

Speaker 2 (02:34:33):
Yo, I'm really what's going on? I'm really concerned about
her stability. What she's really going off the deep end?
I mean it's I mean, it's just h I don't know, man, I've.

Speaker 5 (02:34:46):
Become a female Alex Jones almost Yeah, no, no, I

the play word, Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:35:26):
Alight, So they're gonna spare why there's a there got
the big tackle out there? Well, they'll throw on to
him here, Cary, he's running, Bridie's running. No rights like
it looks like me hit it to a bloody Mary Rick. Okay,
you know that's in the big match, rumbling stumbling at
that tackle. Nobody can tackle him any picking up new yards?
How many yards was it? Ye oh, it looks like

(02:35:49):
the Georgia defense needs to call out. Uh we continue.
Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead. Absolutely love
the show, guys, Thank you. Uh two things.

Speaker 10 (02:36:04):
I was wondering that if Speedy has ever seen the

Speaker 2 (02:37:09):
And America says, Hey, well, hey back, thanks for being
with us today.

Speaker 7 (02:37:15):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:37:15):
Adler has taken a personal day today. He'll be back
with us tomorrow. So looking forward to a busity with
Adler again this week and hearing his stories from the
road if he has some to see what he's been
up to. All happening tomorrow. But one more hour for today. Yep,

(02:37:38):
you know, Rick, speaking of Adler, I want to feed
mister chen. This is speedy and the teens your responsibility. Well,
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (02:37:46):
He hadn't been fed since what I guess, maybe Friday.
Maybe he fed him Friday early before he left out
a hectic Yeah, but it looks like it's in a
medicine bottle, Like he's.

Speaker 2 (02:38:00):
No like this. This smells like fish food, but it's
it's like he's put the fish food in like one
of like a meta like something you a prescription. One
of was he this is this that tells me is sick?
Either that or he got food and then put it
in this and doesn't it? Oh, doesn't he have a

(02:38:20):
bait of fish at home too? I bet you he
got the food from that and put it in here.
But I'm scared to feed it. So I'm just gonna
wait another day. I don't want to feed mister chin
something and that not be it. But I can't even
see mister chin. He's in well, he's hiding. He's right,
he's under he's he's in here. I don't say. Is
he moving? Yep, he's moving. I didn't want to scare

(02:38:41):
him to can you see? But you know I want
to feed mister chin, but I don't. I don't know.
I don't really know what to do, if you know
what I mean? Sure, So anyway, bring that up. Did
he leave any instruction? No, Well, then I'd let it ride,
okay that untill go about four days without food. But
that's all right. Throw a little in there, seems you
me too, Just a little, just a little. If he

(02:39:02):
likes pinch, you'll do Yess what Greg say is if
you don't like it, if he goes for it. Clearly
that's school. That clearly smells like fish food.

Speaker 1 (02:39:10):
I'll try it.

Speaker 2 (02:39:11):
So what does fish food smell like? What you would think?
It does not what you would think. Here, hold on,
it's a little bit like stop it, stop the smell.
What you think a right good catch? That smell like
fish food?

Speaker 7 (02:39:28):
Do you?

Speaker 2 (02:39:28):
Yeah? Yeah, it's more power than I thought. Yeah, there's
not much to it, is there? How do you? How
do you just get it? Do you get a spoon?

Speaker 7 (02:39:37):
What? No?

Speaker 2 (02:39:38):
You just get your index finger and your thumb and
just kind of pinch a little bit and then sprinkle
it in. I want to win the last time he
ate That's what I'm thinking. I think he fed him
early Friday morning. I like how he's peeled off the
prescription bottle. How's he responding to it? I haven't, I
haven't done it. I'm a little how what's a big deal? Well,

(02:40:00):
it's a fish, it's life. It's mister chin right, I
think that is? I mean, what that's going to happen
if I was a batman, it was. That's what I
need to give him. But I'm not sure how much
for you to put just one grain on your tongue.
Greg no, don't start. They really fifty. I just what
if you do? I just dare you ain't gonna do it?
What about okay, what if I shoot the basketball?

Speaker 12 (02:40:19):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:40:19):
Yes, I ring it, Yes, go go try it. If
he makes this, I gotta put it on my tongue.

Speaker 3 (02:40:24):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (02:40:24):
How far back you hold on? Hold on with a second.
Let me get this going here. M h, there we go, Greg,
If you make this shot, Speedy has to know about this,
speaking fish food, I don't know about this. And he
hit it. It was an airball. Hey, airball means you
have to do it. And that's what you jammed the
rim and shimmed it. Going do I'll make you do it?

(02:40:46):
Rick's talk. You're not above this? What's talking about? If
I'm making you do it? How about that if right
back at your birds, right back at your big daddy.
I mean, I'd hate for you to make a shot,
be all excited and then get that a torrib it
your smell off it?

Speaker 3 (02:40:59):
It takes it here.

Speaker 2 (02:41:00):
Let me have some What if I just knock you back?
What if you don't even have to shoot a shot.

Speaker 7 (02:41:04):
I just.

Speaker 2 (02:41:07):
Kind of weird fetish. It ain't gonna kill you, So
do fish eat other fish. It smells like fish, baity
fish they I know they do. And out in the
wild that smells like fish food. You know that that smells.
So you feed a little fish like that other fish,
it seems like it should be like, I don't think
that's other fish. I don't know what it is, but
it's I don't know that. It's obviously sharks wells, you know,

(02:41:30):
the big us. I just didn't know little folks like that.
If he could talk.

Speaker 5 (02:41:33):
I felt like he keeps looking at me through the glass.
He can barely see through it and like feed me.

Speaker 2 (02:41:39):
You know, well here, come get this right now.

Speaker 3 (02:41:41):
So what you need to do.

Speaker 2 (02:41:42):
Here's what you're gonna do. Give chin a little bit
and put one on your tongue and then that's it.
We won't talk about no more. M M. What is
fish food made out of?

Speaker 15 (02:41:54):
What?

Speaker 4 (02:41:54):
You google?

Speaker 2 (02:41:55):
Fish meal, brewers, yeast, soy bean meal, wheat flour, corn,
gluten meal, brin, shrimp, kreole, rice brand, solubles. I don't
know what we're saying. I think it's dehydrated shrimp and
some fish in there as well. Yeah, it smells that
way right, Potato protein, wheat, germ, there is something green

(02:42:18):
squid meal? What there are green bubbles at the top.
Put some in there. Give the fish and food. Just
put a little bit so if something happens, are you
what's gonna happen? Well, a bunch of green golf. Put
a little bit in there.

Speaker 5 (02:42:35):
What's afraid of I'm gonna say, my boss told me.

Speaker 2 (02:42:40):
To do this. You hear what I'm saying. The fish
won't even find the food in that green mess. No,
I'm willing to take some responsibility where we put fish
food in the fish tank? Yeah, I mean, come on,
are we talking about? See how it reacts just a little?
Oh yeah, do you do anything? Did he even move?

(02:43:03):
Is that ficial alive? Did he move? H We're not
supposed to do that. Listen. Do you all realize look
how green it is. It's unbelievable. How about it? I
fished in a in in the farm pond this best
weekend and the water was cleaner than that. Yes, you
know he gave that. One of the VOXY people had

(02:43:23):
a great point the other day. You know, he says,
this is a healthy tanket that when it looks like that.
He said, well, why when you go to a pet
store they don't look like that when they want their health.
Did he ever have an answer to that?

Speaker 7 (02:43:33):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:43:33):
I think he just kept ignoring it. Right again, I
never seen it. You see it, go to it, go
to it is he yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah here look
there you go. Look nope, sorry, boom, let's go to five.

Speaker 3 (02:43:47):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (02:43:47):
That's it. He's nibbling. He is nibbling, nibbling on like
a rat dust cheese. Don't you think that? Don't you
think that's what he wanted? Yeah, look at it would
can Look I'm tearing it much.

Speaker 3 (02:44:01):
I can like that.

Speaker 2 (02:44:04):
Much. A chance, I thank him. You don't love me,
My daddy does not love me. He'll be belly up
in the morning. Well if that takes him out and
we gave him the wrong thing with not I'm not
blaming on the algae. Well there's one side of me.
Every time he pulls through. It kills this great bit
of of of the memorial service for you. Look at

(02:44:26):
I can't wait to use that little look at him.
He's so happy that that water is not supposed to
know it's not it's not good. I mean, I hate
chance gonna swim around mister A chance. You like he's
still chewing. Listen, he's still chewing. How many you been
in there? I didn't make much, mister Chance, thank you
speedy good as No. I didn't, of course swallow belly,

(02:44:47):
but no, I just did a little pinch pinch you.

Speaker 3 (02:44:51):
Anybody knows that.

Speaker 2 (02:44:52):
Wow, look at it. He does have a little bit
more life like. All right, we'll be back. I'm back,
go back over there. You'll enjoy Miss jim. Let my
ball tell me, dude, I'm free.

Speaker 1 (02:45:13):

there at Rick Burgessshow dot com. I don't want to go.
I don't want to go. Debbie Downer, oh boy, but

(02:47:22):
there was some some wicked and some evil stuff over
the weekend. Sadly, uh, and we'll we'll get more in
depth with this on Strange Encounters to Podcast this week.
Michigan church shooting and at the Speedy Unfortunately he says
he's got an update we had it says they believe

(02:47:43):
that four were dead. Now this is this is really
really wicked. I mean, we have Thomas Jacob Samford, forty
years old of Burton, Michigan, accused of ramming his truck
into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints
that is in Grand Blanc township there and before ten

(02:48:05):
thirty a m got out of the truck started firing
on churchgoers with a rifle, but one hundred and fifty
people were attending services at the time, and then he
they think it might have been gasoline and then set
the church on fire. Sanford was shot and killed by
police and he and you know, which makes the story.

(02:48:29):
It's horrible no matter what. But formerly he apparently served
our country in the Marine Corps. So so there you go.
That's a that's a tough, tough story from the weekend,
and we we have more information coming out now, and
you said, Speed, you thought there might have been a

(02:48:50):
couple of others that have been found dead.

Speaker 5 (02:48:51):
Now, yeah, I haven't had that written by a huge
publishing Okay, so that's the website. But there are a
few that are reporting that sadly, but we'll see if
that's accurate. We do know four for sure those you said.

Speaker 2 (02:49:05):
Right, he was a marine veteran, as I said, he
did serve in a rack. So there you go. And
then we have another one. We have somebody else in custody, unfortunately,
after three people were killed and eight injured. This shooting
is at a waterfront bar in North Carolina, and again

(02:49:26):
this sounds all too familiar. Forty year old marine veteran
pulled up to a waterfront North Carolina bar by boat
and just begin to fire on the place from the boat.
So in this particular case, Speedy, do I have it
right that he was taken into custody or was it

(02:49:48):
without being killed?

Speaker 8 (02:49:49):
Right?

Speaker 2 (02:49:50):
So they have him in custody. So you know, it's
just I know, I mean, we it just feels like
there's just so much arkness and in society, and that's
one of the reasons why, uh, you know, we started
doing this this podcast was to kind of talk about
the spiritual spiritual components of all this, because you can't solve,

(02:50:14):
as we've said, uh, secular problems, you know, and I
mean we can't. You can't solve spiritual problems with secular solutions,
and I hate to break that to everybody. Look, elections
are important and and they do affect your quality of life,
but as far as solving dark spiritual problems, there's no

(02:50:35):
political movement that's going to do that. It's going to
be a spiritual movement.

Speaker 7 (02:50:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:50:39):
And here's the good news, because I want to have
some good news. The good news is you can see
something and we and we're seeing it out in our travels,
including this past weekend. Now it's not some overwhelming never is.
But there's a revival that seems to be marking in

(02:51:02):
many places, and one of them is with men, and
we desperately need godly men. It's always a remnant. It's
never some overwhelming force because frankly, God doesn't need overwhelming numbers.
He just needs our desires, you know, to call people,

(02:51:22):
not so the human beings involved or can get the glory,
but so that God can show himself and who he
is through doing miraculous things through people that could never
get it done. And this has been going on since
the fall of mankind, and we're seeing some of that
because every time darkness thinks they're gathering ground, there seems

(02:51:45):
to be you know, there seems to be a movement
within the church. Persecution and duress always seems to produce
the healthiest church because it kind of weeds out those
that are just in for us a cultureal ride. Bill Maher,
you wouldn't expect him to care much about this, but

(02:52:07):
he made a comment that's true. He's making a bigger comment.
Does it appear that now the waterfront bar would not
be included in this, but he said one of the
things you see is there seems to be a cross
hairs on Christians especially, which is not surprising. But even
Bill Maher, who makes it clear he's not a Christian,

(02:52:29):
is wondering why the annihilation of Christians in Nigeria. And
by the way, we're talking about over one hundred thousand
and growing. And he comments on his show, So this
is courtesy of Bill Maher and is he on what
is he on HBO? Here we go Nigeria. I mean,

(02:52:49):
the fact that this issue has not gotten on people's radar.

Speaker 7 (02:52:53):
No one's talking about it.

Speaker 2 (02:52:54):
It's pretty amazing.

Speaker 21 (02:52:55):
If you don't know what's going on in Nigeria, your
media sources suck.

Speaker 2 (02:53:00):
You are in a bubble.

Speaker 21 (02:53:02):
And again, I'm not a Christian, but they are systematically
killing the Christians in Nigeria. They've killed over one hundred
thousand since two thousand and nine. They've burned eighteen thousand churches.
This is so much more. These are their Islamis vokoha ram.
This is so much more of an aside attempt than
what is going on in Gaza. They are literally attempting
to wipe out the Christian population of an entire country.

Speaker 2 (02:53:25):
Where are the kids protesting this?

Speaker 7 (02:53:28):
Where you.

Speaker 1 (02:53:31):
Talking about?

Speaker 7 (02:53:32):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (02:53:33):
It's a good point. I mean, if Palestine has got
you fired up, one hundred thousand Christians being annihilated in
churches being burned in Nigeria, that doesn't you see anybody
protesting the Islamist in Nigeria? Anybody so? And there's a

(02:53:55):
reason for that. I mean, this is really not surprising.
Jesus told us this is how it would go. And
one thing else I would I would take into account.
Not only is that being ignored and we heard some
of it a minute ago, this anti Israel movement that
now is starting to happen, even within some of the

(02:54:16):
alt right. Careful, now, I'm just telling you and I
get I'm getting a lot of emails about it. Well,
you know, I don't know, I know what the Bible says,
but I mean, is that modern day Israel? And no, no, no, no, none.
And careful, You're you're aligning against Israel. And of course
that's prophecy that that you know, you look around in

(02:54:39):
the whole world's against them, and you're you're playing right
into prophecy. You're you're being deceived to be real. Careful,
I'm telling you and I and I'm getting it far
too much. I've been silent on it, but now that
this is kind of I mean, you wouldn't believe the
the counseling that I'm having to do. Now, tell me again,

(02:55:00):
why don't we stand with Israel? Are you sure about that?
Does that mean modern day Israel? Is that?

Speaker 7 (02:55:04):
You know?

Speaker 2 (02:55:05):
And you know I've never dealt with those questions as
much as I am now because of the propaganda that's
out there, and it's not just on the left, it's
it's it's on the right too, and you don't want
to be you're on the wrong side of that. We'll
be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:55:24):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who removed
the phrase what's You're no good? From society? Rick Purchase.

Speaker 2 (02:55:49):
You're welcome, Okay, So we're back and we thank you
for being with us. Let me give you a heads up,
a little heads up, uh so uh. And we do
a lot of man church services all around, and we
got a lot coming up this weekend. I told you
about that. But we also do two conferences. Last year
we did three. Year before that we did the two,

(02:56:11):
and year before that we did one. But this year
we're going back to two. That seems to be board
three was a lot, so two this coming year. The
last two weekends in January and twenty six, Birmingham, Alabama
will host Startville, Mississippi will host. Those tickets go on
sale to the general public tomorrow, so just the link

(02:56:34):
will be there for you at the Maanchurch dot com.
So'll be looking for that, all right, So what's going on?
And you were researching get speedy, so I think you
have it now. So people keep sending us in Greg.
This is your area, buddy. Yeah, and that is Bubba
Wallace seems to be angry with car owner Denny Hamlin.

(02:56:58):
His car his car owner, and Denny Hamlin drives for
Joe Gibbs, right yep. And because is he seed? Is
he blaming Denny for this wreck? Is that what happened?

Speaker 3 (02:57:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:57:08):
Yeah, Denny Hamlin.

Speaker 5 (02:57:10):
And this is a quick read and Greg, you can
kind of On Sunday, the NASCAR race was at Kansas
Speedway and a double overtime, by the way brought out chaos.
And on the second overtime restart, Bubba Wallace and Christopher
Bell were fighting for a space at the front off
of four and Wallace and they kind of kind of

(02:57:32):
got crowded a little bit. And then coming to the
white flag and the final wrap, Wallace and Bell both
leading final lap, thank you. They both lifted and Hamlin
had to run in behind. He had a run coming
in behind him and he moved into second as Wallace
held the lead off of two.

Speaker 2 (02:57:49):
And then it looks like.

Speaker 5 (02:57:52):
Hamlin and Wallace both lost momentum and Hamlin ended ended
up getting rummed rubbing doors with Elliott and Chase l
It grabbed the race win, but Bubba Wallace, they said,
was it felt like he kind of was left out
and was seen giving the one finger salute uh out
the driver's side window, telling his boss Denny Hamlin, who

(02:58:14):
was behind him, that he was number one.

Speaker 2 (02:58:17):
If you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (02:58:18):
And so he and I have I have the audio
and that's just me doing a quick read. I have
the audio of both of them at first. This is
Denny Hamlin being talked, asked about it.

Speaker 22 (02:58:32):
It's really difficult and just super disappointed that I couldn't
finish this one out.

Speaker 2 (02:58:39):
It's good, is it different? Difficult with racing by there
just as he is shut.

Speaker 3 (02:58:47):
This is a weird.

Speaker 2 (02:58:48):
This is weird here. Oh boy, that was awkward. I
mean a little bit.

Speaker 22 (02:58:52):
I mean that I would have raced everyone the same
way I'm going for sixty. No one will ever accuse
me of laying over for anyone for a win. And obviously, uh,
you know, to win a championship, we gotta we gotta
figure out a way to move on.

Speaker 3 (02:59:13):
And I would have.

Speaker 22 (02:59:14):
Loved for me in the twenty three to battle it out,
but obviously I couldn't turn the car well enough that
last corner and got him a very.

Speaker 2 (02:59:21):
Straight uh and uh.

Speaker 5 (02:59:23):
And then Bubba Wallace was asked about it as well,
and this is, Uh, I'm sorry here, let me go.

Speaker 2 (02:59:31):
So he's saying, I did run into the wall, but
it's because I couldn't turn. I didn't do it on purpose. Yeah,
power steering went out. Is that what it was? That's
what I was saying. Yeah, that's that's kind of what
I'm getting too. But it just it was a it
was a tough little moment here, and Bubba Wallace was
not happy at all. What Bubba, I mean, why is it?
Why is Bubba Wallace so bad? I mean, if he

(02:59:52):
couldn't help it, why is Bubba crime? Is that what
you're saying? Why got water? Yeah, that's take it.

Speaker 14 (02:59:58):
It's unfortunate, this is but you know, I was excited
to race Denny for the win, and hell, we ended
up fifth and gave the nine to win. So that's
that's what's frustrating the most, Uh, is that we couldn't
get Toyota to Victory Lane. And we've been working really
hard to get our program back here at Kansas. We've
still got a lot of work to do. Uh, played

(03:00:19):
all of our cards right, and yeah, just one min sbeak.

Speaker 2 (03:00:23):
Will there be a conversation with any about this.

Speaker 14 (03:00:25):
You can't talk to him and race maybe differently potentially,
since it's how we raced you. I mean, I've always
been big on you. Race you race me. How you
raise me is how I rasue no matter.

Speaker 2 (03:00:36):
Who you are, what it is.

Speaker 14 (03:00:37):
We race hard. We race hard every week. Toyo drivers
race really hard every week. But we respect each other
and there's a fine line that sometimes gets crossed and
and you have to understand that. But uh, we got
one more race at the roval. For me, it's a
must win there, right, But we're gonna go and do
what we did today. Uh, fight hard and uh yeah,

(03:00:57):
just make the most of it.

Speaker 2 (03:00:59):
Oh, he was mad. It's quote that I'm looking like
he said it was a da. Of course he didn't
say DA for that move. I don't care if he's
my boss though. Well he was mad. Uh oh, well,
but but I mean he will he feel bad when
he gets out and if Denny Hamlin's telling the truth
and there was nothing could do about it.

Speaker 5 (03:01:20):
Well, Hambling had a run. He didn't have the steering
the way he wanted. He drove deep into the bottom,
ran up on the track and he doored Wallace, shoving
him into the wall.

Speaker 2 (03:01:29):
Mm hmm. So that's that's what Wallace is upset about.
But okay, well they can work it out. I mean,
it ain't nothing between them, Greble, what Aaron opportunity? Aaron opportunity?

Speaker 15 (03:01:40):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (03:01:40):
Also, Greg and I were marveling. Do I think Zach
Brian is a is a great singer songwriter?

Speaker 19 (03:01:46):
I do.

Speaker 2 (03:01:47):
I love his style of music. I'm you know, certain
certain parts of his catalog have a little language that
I I'd rather not be part of it. But but
he has some great songs and is a good songwriter.
Sowd his catalog. What young did we get that confirmed?
Was that a fisher? Remember that to you wouldn't think

(03:02:08):
he had enough in a catalog. But how in the
world he breaks a record? Largest concert in US history.
One hundred and twelve thousand people went to Michigan Stadium
and Ann Arbor to see Zach Bryant in concert. Let's
have hear some that sound from Look at that like

(03:02:28):
you look at that, guys, I mean one hundred and
twelve thousand people? Is this surprise you has that kind
of draw? Yeah? I mean I think he's great. I mean,
I just but he hadn't been around that line. I
didn't think he had that kind of mass appeal. Did
we miss the story? A few weeks back, I remember
seeing some footage him and another singer got in a
fight and he like climbed a fence that Bob wear

(03:02:51):
on it trying to get to him at like an event. Wow,
we never I mean I just saw it. We never
talked about it.

Speaker 3 (03:02:57):
Well.

Speaker 2 (03:02:57):
I think this is another example, okay, and and and
for us to kind of and and we're trying, we're
figuring it all out too, is that we're living in
a time where people establish these giant fan bases and
it's not done the old fashioned way, so we think

(03:03:19):
we can't see it, we don't feel it, and then
all of a sudden, it's like, by the way, I'm
in concert and Arbor and one hundred and twelve thousand
people say, I'm in He's built this on the internet. Yeah,
he's built this. I remember the first time I heard that,
you're not gonna like this, Greg, I know you. I
don't care for it either, this phrase, but I remember,
and I tell you who it was. It's and he's

(03:03:42):
he's he's retired now, but we still keep in touch
a little bit as Jeff Erickson, who who did Buzzbox
Coffee and you know he's if he also has an
album out. You know, if you've never if you've never
seen his his Ted Talk, go find it. It's incredible.
But he was the first, you get way ahead of
his time, and he was saying how this Buzzbox Coffee

(03:04:04):
program needs to work. He said, is you build your
and I know, Greg, I can, I don't know how
your face is going to be. You build your tribe.
And that's just the word to use. And what happens
is once you start building that tribe, you keep in
touch with him, you keep you keep keeping contact with them,
and you start having an interaction with them that the

(03:04:26):
public don't even know about. And then as you bring
more and more people into the tribe, and then once
that's established, you really can just say to the tribe,
this is where we meet next. We're doing a little
bit of that with the way the Man Church works.
Most of the conferences and all this stuff is that
they're filled by what the over twenty three hundred churches
that are doing the strategy, So really we send out

(03:04:49):
a mass email. That's why I'm telling some of you
to get your tickets tomorrow, because that email's going out
to them. Well, they knew where to buy tickets, they
know where the locations are. They've already done it, you know,
before it out to the public. So I guess that
he has a following that well now with the Internet
and all that, right, Yeah, the first ones to really

(03:05:10):
benefit from it was when it got hot was the
and my daughter loved him. The one direction, you know,
Simon Kyle put them together. He took five solo artists
off their talent show and it made a group out
of them, and it just went global because of the
Internet and all the social media and it just it
just took over the world and they went from nothing

(03:05:31):
to huge. Now the other side of that, and maybe
his people are doing this, he is too, And I'll
be honest, we're you know, it's hard. It's more difficult
for us now. The tribe does want you to keep
in touch with them all the time. They they they demand,
they want content, they want something from you, and if
you don't, if you don't check with them enough, yeah,
you know, and that that part is is quite demanding

(03:05:53):
at times. But one hundred and twelve thousand in the
big House. Wow, I thought he's sold the bjcac out.
I thought that was a big deal. I mean you
read of it because I didn't even know who you was.
Unscreened phone calls in the hour, there's the number eight
eight eight, the number six big box. All ten lines

(03:06:15):
are available, and we'll go talking to you next.

Speaker 1 (03:06:19):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, and No, the most
dangerous ten minutes in radio. Unscreened phone calls. Get in
no by dialing one eight eight eight six, Big flocks and.

Speaker 2 (03:06:42):
America, it's your turn.

Speaker 3 (03:06:43):
Here.

Speaker 14 (03:06:44):
We go.

Speaker 2 (03:06:46):
All ten lines of blazing and we roll through them
rapid fire, and we screen you in real time. Oh yes,
there's no barrier between you and us, the Daredevil's of radio.
Can we jump another bus? Uh so, fire up and

(03:07:06):
we'll chat with you on whatever is on your mind.
By the way, speedy, I think I share you share
this with me. Surely. Could you imagine how happy we
would be if Greg somehow ended up on Dancing with
a story. D'd be the greatest. You up quick, that

(03:07:26):
would be the greatest. He's serious about that, but we
don't know where he is.

Speaker 5 (03:07:32):
It's like he's taking a couple of days off, don't
And then all of a sudden that one of the
local stations is doing a story.

Speaker 2 (03:07:38):
Only I can see you do a salsa. If I
can see you do it real, I'm talking about with
some attitude. Yeah, yeah, you can't halfway do it on
that show. To the phones we go. Rick Mergers Show,
unscreen phone calls, go ahead, Hey guys, Hey, but how
y'all doing it? We're good. It is to show you, guys, man,

(03:07:59):
thank you very much. I don't care what nobody said.

Speaker 3 (03:08:02):
Look y'all make his laugh, y'all make us cry.

Speaker 2 (03:08:05):
Sometimes we love y'all. Thank you so much. That means
the world. There's encouragement, and then there's encouragement for men
like you. Rick Birder's Show on screen phone calls go ahead.
And I went to the man the Georgia game this weekend.

Speaker 12 (03:08:19):
When I was leaving, I was yelling, roll tied. I
had a little too much to drink. And somebody's stuff that, Hey,
you say it again, I'm gonnahoop your fat ass.

Speaker 2 (03:08:32):
I said it again, and and and that will do it,
my friends. Rick Birders Show on screen phone calls, go ahead, Yeah.

Speaker 17 (03:08:49):
Just a couple of comments about Israel's that's really kind
of a tough nut really, because Israel is no different
than anybody else. They don't get a pass for sinful behavior.
On the other hand, they are God's chosen people. So
it's you know, I say, every action that Israel takes
is really a case by case thing. For example, if

(03:09:12):
Israel really wants to get back to following God, they
need to expand their borders like God told them to.

Speaker 2 (03:09:17):
Well, yeah, that the thing you're talking about, it would
be would fly in the face of what everybody seems
to get upset about. You're right that the one thing
that people don't want to talk about is the land
that God gave them. They've given some of that up
and and they don't have all they're supposed to have,

(03:09:39):
and so and then some people get mad when they're
taking it back and think they should give more of it.
And really, according to what God said, they weren't supposed
to give up any of it. So so it's a
it is you're right, but we don't this new thing
that's going You can agree and disagree with certain things

(03:10:00):
they do, but this we're forming against them. Who are
you siding with when you do that hamas you know
the Hooties what yeah, if you if you want to
talk about hey this, let's do that. But I'm telling
you there's things God's working out with those people. That

(03:10:23):
is that we're certainly all one church under the New Covenant,
but those what's going to happen there is big and
it's not to be treated so carelessly as some people
are treating it right now. Rick Berger's show on screen
phone calls go ahead, Uh yeah.

Speaker 16 (03:10:45):
I got a question for y'all, and I just won't
touch on the Israel thing. So I've always supported Israel
as far as being a Christian goes. But how do
we combat to corruption that's coming out of modern day Israel?
And how do you justify the killing of over seventeen
thousand Insi children of Palestine certainly not justified a cord too?

Speaker 2 (03:11:02):
So well, whoa, whoa, whoa? I mean, have you have
you have you seen the blood of the Bible? Have
you seen the wars and and the commandment to the
people when they took over Canaan.

Speaker 16 (03:11:16):
I mean, I understand that it's just the murdering of children.

Speaker 2 (03:11:18):
I don't think what's murdered when, But who's to be
held responsible for that? The terrorists that put them in
that situation and used them as human body shields. Are
Israel responding to the attack on them?

Speaker 12 (03:11:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 16 (03:11:31):
I see that argument.

Speaker 2 (03:11:33):
It's just argument. That's not an argument. That's that's that's
that's a truth. I mean, that's not it.

Speaker 3 (03:11:39):
But so so so what no?

Speaker 2 (03:11:42):
No, no, no, well, so so what are you going
to say? What do we say about who mos? Who killed? Innocent?
All war kills innocent people.

Speaker 15 (03:11:51):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (03:11:51):
What what would you say to the attack on on
the on the people that caused all this while they
were having a music festival? I mean, who you would?

Speaker 16 (03:12:00):
I would company him all that, I would all that,
But I don't.

Speaker 2 (03:12:02):
Think, well what then what do you do? Do you
just sit and let them do it to you.

Speaker 16 (03:12:09):
Your own country?

Speaker 10 (03:12:10):
Do you think?

Speaker 2 (03:12:10):
Do you think we shouldn't have killed should we not
have killed people after nine to eleven? Should we just
said hey, that that's okay, don't worry about that. Y'all
killed a bunch of people and we're sorry. We can't
you know, we can't return and defend ourselves and then
kill people in your country. So, I mean, I don't
think you under I don't think you I think you're
comparing you're comparing war. You're comparing war to how we

(03:12:33):
interact with each other in society. Nation against nation Uh
has been in the scriptures since the fall of mankind.

Speaker 7 (03:12:43):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:12:43):
And it isn't sinful unless you know, unless you're trying
to you know, do you're doing it in some way
that that isn't called for? But in many times war
is called for and and it has happened. Would you
rather us just let the Germans do whatever they were doing? Hey,
forget it. We don't want to come over and kill
innocent people. So y'all just keep doing what you're doing.

(03:13:04):
Take over the world, kill off the Jews. We don't
want to. Hey, we don't want to be mean, because
you know, if we kill y'all, we're no better than you.
I mean, what are you talking about. I mean, that's
that's that's that's an absurd point of view.

Speaker 15 (03:13:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:13:19):
And it sounds like you've been hanging on too many
college campuses. Rick Burgess show unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 8 (03:13:25):
Go ahead, good morning to my favorite set of honkeys.

Speaker 3 (03:13:30):
Hey.

Speaker 8 (03:13:30):
Hey, right, I've been doing something a little dangerous, which
is thinking and anybody that's confused about their gender needs
to go back and watch the Great Movie Kindergarten.

Speaker 15 (03:13:42):
Cop.

Speaker 8 (03:13:43):
It was explained on a first grade level.

Speaker 2 (03:13:46):
The Great Kindergarten. That's true, Rick Burgess show unscreen phone calls,
go ahead.

Speaker 3 (03:13:52):
Is this the Chinese Year of the Spider?

Speaker 6 (03:13:54):
Or what?

Speaker 3 (03:13:55):
Guys? IW do tree work?

Speaker 5 (03:13:56):
And I'm about tired of walking through the woods with
pick of my hand casting spails like some Reddinet wizard,
just so I don't have to run into one.

Speaker 2 (03:14:03):
Everything out there. I did that yesterday. Yesterday I was
over there. I mean we were trying to eat up.
We were trying to get ready and go, you know,
put out cameras and kill all the wasp in in
the shooting houses and things like that. Every everywhere we turn,
we were fighting spiders. They were all over everywhere we turn.

Speaker 3 (03:14:22):
So it may be what something else?

Speaker 2 (03:14:23):
Yeah, I think you may be righted some rednick wizard,
and we did share. You had hers what you got
to fight them off? So thank you for being with us.
I think I'd run out of time if I try
to take another one. But thank you guys. And of
course you can always email us too if you just
go to Rick burgesshow dot com right there where it
says the team a te a m you'll see everybody.

(03:14:46):
You'll see our Instagram at account and our email address

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
