Speaker 3 (02:13):
That when you said that, Gary and I looked like
two bearded babies, he did like a bearded toddlers sitting
in a big their parents chair. Well, you know, we
have a look, we have a we have an endorsement
deal with Coca Cola. And don't you think that's exactly
what they're looking for? Of course, that's quite like that
right there. When Gary and I saw the giant Coca
Cola chair, we started laughing at the thought of us
(02:34):
in it and could not wait to get somebody to
take a picture of us.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
There it is.
Speaker 3 (02:39):

Yeah, he does.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
Can't getn't die out about this. I'm at I'm at
the guys named after Tinglewood. You met his name is Tinglewood.
His name is Tingle.
Speaker 7 (02:53):
You met mister Tangle.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
I met the Tingle went over there. Do you know
how Tingle became the Tinglewood Festival?
Speaker 9 (02:58):
No?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
I do not, right. Apparently he's very good with the
chainsaw and taking woodland everywhere and turning it into art. Okay,
lots of a lot of chainsaw art. I like, First, Amazing,
Last Nation Tingle. I said, I want to talk to
do that. I went over there to the welcome that
I want to talk to d Tingle.
Speaker 8 (03:16):
You think he did?
Speaker 3 (03:17):
You think he didn't have woodworking all around?
Speaker 5 (03:23):
Gary kept calling him mister Dingle, which I thought over and.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
On the way out, let's go say hey to mister Dingle.
And I was like, Geary's Tingle.
Speaker 5 (03:32):
It's ding It's not it's Tingle. He's got me saying it.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Like see Gary, take up some chainsaw art. That be
right up out. You know, Speedy, we talk about you
when we get talking about music, and you know how
it must feel, and you know how sometimes I bring
Gary into our world, and then there's times I'm in
Gary's world.
Speaker 8 (03:49):
Yeah I think I was in Gary's world.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Oh really, Oh Gary, you think that all kinds of
handy woodworking carpenter tops. And they've had old tractors and
old car you Gary loves old cars. A lot old
cars and a lot of old tractors.
Speaker 8 (04:05):
Uh and uh, a lot.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
A lot of a lot of woodwork, a lot of
acts throwing.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Well that you've got blue grass?
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Yes, by the way, you remember a big boy that
I said can really well on the guitar.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
He was playing.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
If you're gonna have blue grass and you don't have him,
you ain't nothing. He's the man rights.
Speaker 8 (04:21):
Still a little better job on checking arm bands on
the hostility tent.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
But okay, well you know where we where we live,
where we live. Okay, the weather yesterday turned beautiful and
the humidity left us again, and it's it feels wonderful
outside right now. Okay, that was Hey, that was not
the case Saturday. Yeah, it was Saturday, which was Saturday,
(04:48):
was August again, and it was hot and it was humid,
and it was miserable and and it was it was
baking everybody, you know, the festival was it.
Speaker 7 (04:57):
Was a hot festival and there were some shade trees.
He's still hot, the hot guy right there.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Yeah, and he looks so hot. Yeah, it's so very hot.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
And so and uh, but I also have I have
a not so good report on our country.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
What's that?
Speaker 3 (05:13):
When I get back, I we'll talk about it when
it's not a good report. No, Rick, Hey, the country,
the country. Hey, we got problems.
Speaker 7 (05:19):
Yeah, boy do gosh.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
And I looked at right, and I looked at right
in the face, in the faces of a bunch of children,
and uh, they got they don't know. I don't know
what we're teaching in school, but it ain't American history. Yeah,
I mean it, I mean it was. It was I
wept for our nation. I don't know what we're doing,
(05:42):
and I don't. I'm glad we're getting rid of the
Department of Education. These kids know nothing about our country,
nothing quite and what they do know has been revised.
We we were there for the semi Quinn centennial.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
It's just flowing out.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Matter of fact, Alabama, we're doing such a good job
preparing that. You know, there's twenty other states that's adopted
our plan and were model is what we do. So
this was American Village, which does teach American history. And
we've got a brand new Independence Hall which just opened.
By the way, portraits that will interact with you. It's
a beautiful thing. I'm begging teachers everywhere if if you're
(06:18):
not taking your kids to American Village because the curriculum
that you've been given by the government doesn't include American history.
Speaker 8 (06:24):
My gosh, get them there please. They know nothing.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
So you had to answer just basic questions to get
to spend the wheel that we had there to get
you know, like you might get a t shirt that
has the two hundred and fiftieth on it, you might
get a cup, you might get some pencils and a ruler.
Of course, Gary had a ruler joke and he just
kept on using it. Do it everybody who won a ruler.
(06:48):
Here's what Gary said, Hey, you better get that because
I ain't making them any longer. That's he that funny.
He had him something following time. That's enough you say,
I'm here. I get to hear it. Every time you say, hey,
do you get your ruder? Enjoy it because they ain't
making them in longer.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Putty gig a little bit after any laughing times.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
That was good. Here what I said, I did hear you? Yeah,
we heard it. Loved it again. Yeah, but so hey, hey,
they don't know they don't know American history. When I
tell y'all some of the answers that we got to,
some these are not hard questions. I'm talking about the
simplest questions. I think my favorite, my You know, y'all
want some favorites right now? Yeah? Wow, if you now
(07:31):
some of he's gonna make you want to cry. Okay, okay,
who wrote the Declaration of Independence? Ready for the answer,
Martin Luther King Jr.
Speaker 8 (07:42):
That was one? Okay, how old is the country?
Speaker 5 (07:45):
Keeping?
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Mind?
Speaker 8 (07:46):
There's two fifties on my shirt.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yeah, everyone over the table everywhere, ready for this one?
Speaker 8 (07:51):
Fifty fifty two minds. I'm sixty.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
So I for ten years I lived in the British
colony apparently, and don't ask about a colony they ain't
got in.
Speaker 8 (07:58):
I did what a colony is.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
I had to change the question of name two of
the thirteen original colonies to their still states. Now, so
just throw a few states out there, Oklahoma, No, to
the thirteen original.
Speaker 5 (08:11):
Colleague California and yeah, there you go the opposite.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
My favorite. When was the Declaration of Independence? Sign you
are ready for this one? Nineteen sixty? I said, so wow,
So I guess you think my grandchildren know that it was.
It was who was the first president? Here'd you go?
(08:36):
Here'd you want that one? And then they and on
that one, they just recklessly grab names that they heard
in history. I mean it was I could not believe.
I was shocked how little the people knew about our country.
It was way worse than you, way worse, way worse.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
And it wasn't just kids, or was it all kids.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
It was mainly kids, but I'm talking about kids in
ninth grade time, talking about little kids. There were some
little kids I had, and then sometimes adults.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
Some of the.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Adults were way off, way off. I mean, I mean
terrifyingly off.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
Okay, so.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
You name one of the three branches of government, ready
for this one? The police? Okay, okay, sort of sort
of yeah.
Speaker 8 (09:25):
Yeah, that's not it. That No, that was not it.
Speaker 7 (09:30):
Goodness, it was.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
By the way, brig who who did we declare independence
from Queen Elizabeth?
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Was an answer? All right?
Speaker 10 (09:42):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (09:44):
I mean right right, idea?
Speaker 3 (09:47):
I guess that one was any answer? Yeah, way off
of the timeline, way off.
Speaker 5 (09:52):
Benjamin Franklin. Look, you think they would Benjim Bedam Franklin
out there reckons.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Here we go. Thank you for being with us today, America,
thank you for hanging out with us. And it was
great to meet everybody that came to the festival there
in Sweet Home, Alabama over the weekend. Mono Vado beautiful
place or a park, beautiful location. It had a great time.
(10:46):
Thanks for all the feedback on the show, and a
wonderful time being there with American Village and enjoying being
the Alabama ambassador for the Simi Quinn Centennial and a
lot coming up as our country gets ready to celebrate that.
But also I found out that our history not not
(11:07):
being passed on. It was it was hard to tough,
hard to hear. Yeah, it was the and we had
to correct that. Ben Franklin didn't invent the lightbulb too,
that was Thomas Addison. But it was good, it was
it was all right. We we we worked through that.
Well that was not too far, no, because you got
the lightning and all that.
Speaker 8 (11:25):
That one was okay. The uh, I guess we're.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Happy about anything close anytime that we'd ask when the
Declaration of Independent Penance would was signed in the nineteenth
nineteen nineteen would be the front first two.
Speaker 8 (11:38):
I knew we were in trouble.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Got again. I got a nineteen eighty Yeah, so that's
when thriller came. Remember that was that was thriller, Michael Jackson.
One thing that we did not get into, even though
we did have a couple of people that were eventually
able to give us one of the branches of our government.
What one of one of those is that you know
that lead so how we get taxed? Uh, that's a
(12:02):
ill legislative branch. They can they can get an air
and fight for us, so they can burn us.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
But if you're needing, you need to pay some taxes
right now. By the way, I saw that the Santus
is trying to uh uh, trying to get a little
momentum going that we do away. We're property taxes across
the country, you know, which is big. But anyway, that's
one thing we always get upset with in our in
our state because our property taxes aren't very high. And
(12:28):
when someone when someone some politician tries to complain about that,
I'm like, yo, so hard to get an audience when
taxes are low on something and you want us to
be upset about it or feel guilty about not many
people gonna go yeah, no, well you know so and
so on state. Well, in that state they don't have
any income tax. Yeah, which they're gonna get it one
or the other. What I know there's politicians in Alabama
(12:49):
that want us to pay high state income tax and
high property tax.
Speaker 8 (12:53):
Pick one.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Uh, but anyway, we don't. We don't want to do both.
So anyway, so if our property taxes are low but
our state income tax is high, we're good US tax shield.
If you owe the government money, you're dealing with the
largest collection agency in the world, and they will garnish
your wages.
Speaker 8 (13:12):
They do have power.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
They will sell your stuff off to make your tax debt,
and they will put you in jail. So if you
want to alleviate some of these problems, you need to
go ahead and say come on out, Hey, I'm gonna
come in out. Y'all got me and get us tax
Shield to be your advocate. There's some programs available. You
may qualify for them. They'll know where you can, you know,
negotiate the lowest payment possible to be in good standing
(13:38):
with the government, and they want to solve it as
much as you do. So the Better Business Bureau has
given us tax Shield their A plus rating, So call
them at one eight hundred and seven sixty nine seven
three four oh, or you can go to Rick Burgess
show dot com under sponsors and you'll see the number there.
All right, So some other things to discuss. So apparently
(13:59):
last night, because you know, these are things you only
know if you're married or you're in some serious relationship
with a female, Sherry was like, oh, oh, I forgot,
I forgot. I want to watch this. I want to
watch the Miss America pageant. Didn't know it was last night,
didn't care, but didn't know it was last night. I
know this is not the first year this. I don't
(14:21):
stand in the loot with Miss America and the pageant,
but I know pageants at one time were embraced by
our country. Now we're embarrassed to pageants. Did y'all know
that Miss America? And I know this is not the
first year, so y'all don't get on me. I had
to find that out last night because Sherry started watching
it on her phone. I said, baby, just just go
go watching on TV. She goes not on TV, and
(14:41):
I said Miss America is not on TV and she goes, no,
it's not I don't think, so I said, I think
maybe I think you're wrong about that. So I go
to flipping around and here's the state of our country.
I could get the absolute I don't even know how
to describe what I saw on the screen of the
Video Music Awards on see you know the MTV y'all
(15:02):
talked about.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
That brought that back. Yeah, I don't know what that was.
Speaker 3 (15:05):
I turned it on and Sodom and Gomorro was on
the screen, and I thought that God was going to
strike the TV off the wall. So I quickly jumped
off that. And so we've got to make sure that's
on the major network. But Miss America, because I guess
that's not good for him anymore, has lost standing with
the networks and they have to stream it.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Now.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Now I understand this is not going on. Yeah, it's
been going on for a few years now. I didn't
know that. That's how much I'm in the loop. But
it felt weird that I had to go to the TV,
find the YouTube app and get Sherry that Miss America
pageant on one of the TV's on YouTube.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
That was just YouTube.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
Well, they have their own streaming that you can do,
but I found it on YouTube on Miss America's YouTube channel. Okay,
just like we have one. That's how Miss America gets.
And I watched a little bit of it before I
went to bed with Sherry, and you can tell it's
really it's much lower budget now.
Speaker 8 (15:55):
Oh yeah, yeah, the the the.
Speaker 5 (15:58):
I felt speedy.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
You would have crawled under a table when they brought
back the Miss Americas of the past, and you know
what the first one was. It was supposed to be
missed two thousand and eight. She brought up Miss twenty
twenty eight and you know that year hadn't happened yet.
We don't have a We don't have and didn't and
didn't correct it and didn't correct it and and out
(16:23):
the ratings will go on, yes, eight and so come
on out. Oh my goodness. I didn't realize. And course
I look love, what a great idea on paper. But
some of our Miss Americas, how far we got too
far back on them? Well not just that, you know,
some of them, and I appreciate their courage came on
(16:47):
back when maybe yeah it's uh, you know, we hey,
the evening gown a lot more material now, oh right,
and uh and so but that's all right, you come
on out here and come on down, strut on through there,
and we'll remember when and let them put that picture
of you back there behind there when you won, you
know what I mean, And and all of us, you know,
(17:08):
a little bit uncomfortable and uh. And then then of
course you had the other We brought back one from
nineteen forty eight.
Speaker 11 (17:15):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
I mean she had to be one hundred wow. Wow,
and we helped her walk all the way down, Oh
bless her.
Speaker 8 (17:22):
And we had one come out on a scooter yeah.
Speaker 7 (17:27):
There around oh yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
I'll tell you she came out of there saxy.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
On the two.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Oh yeah, and she didn't Yeah. Yeah, it was and
look something. It's it was a moving idea. But you know,
sometimes the memories need to be yes.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
And there were some that were.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
There were some that were amazing though I'm talking about
that they looked like they could be you know when
you know, legacy, Miss America whatever. I mean, they were
as beautiful as ever, and you know, but but some
of it was was was was difficult, especially when you
can't get it right. And the two MC's were marble.
I mean, they were just something anybody you had seen before.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
I had no idea who they were.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
One of them like the lead singer for Rascal Flats,
but been only shorter and more feminine. Uh, it was
it was, Yes, they get mixed up on the Miss Usa,
Miss Pitcher, the lead singer of Rascal Fats.
Speaker 8 (18:20):
Effeminate brother, you caught it, Rascal Fats.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
I'm sorry, Well, yeah, it was a freudium slip utwe
he looks a lot like me, a little shorter and
way more feminine, okay. And then you had the typical
I look like maybe I was in a pageant, but
maybe that may not an m see, you know, And
she's the one that gets a hundred with the twenty
(18:43):
twenty eight. And they just went on.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (18:49):

Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
All right here we go, America. Thank you for being
with us again today. Speaking to Greg, He'll be leaving
us for a little while today because he is going.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
Did you ever think this would be you?
Speaker 3 (20:31):
This term I'm about to use grandparents today. Yeah, well,
breakfast with grandparents, breakfast with Gregg. This one is for
my granddaughter Maren and she's in her first year at
four year old ka. So while four k Papa is
coming to Breco and you gat breakfast and they take
you to the room and then you end up at
the book fair, which you know.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
They hit your heart's book. That's how they get you.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
That's how they get at the book. They rope you
right into the book. That's fine. The kids love.
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Can you come to breakfast with me, pap?
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Polease, I'll start to dress up as Clifford big Red
Dog when it is. Will you buy some books at
the book fair?
Speaker 7 (21:05):
Papa?
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Don't feel bad for Rivers Speedy's grandson trying to get
Speed to buy something. What's true?
Speaker 7 (21:12):
That's not true?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Papa can can not spend at least a dollar?
Speaker 8 (21:17):
Pops.
Speaker 3 (21:17):
Can you buy me a book?
Speaker 5 (21:18):
Please?
Speaker 8 (21:21):
You know getting when you're talking about cash.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
Maybe maybe Pop's can get them give us one.
Speaker 5 (21:26):
Are you sure you won't let me tell them who
I am?
Speaker 3 (21:30):
He costs me poss but I'm Speed from Ricking Bubba,
you might have hurt us. Maybe I get on there
and can't shut up about the book fair. Everybody should participate.
How much you want for here? Sorry, sit in the
garage sale. So we have always had a commitment.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
One of the great things about doing we do for
a living. If there's any way that we can get
the dads and the granddads to these important things, we
try to do it.
Speaker 8 (21:57):
So that'd be great, and Greg will be back.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
He'll he'll leave.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
And now I can't do anything about Thursday when we've
got to take Mom to another doct's appointment.
Speaker 8 (22:04):
Gray's got to do that too.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Yeah, yeah, and that one I won't be back.
Speaker 8 (22:08):
Can I just tell you this really? Yeah, Well, she'll
have a doc's pointment.
Speaker 13 (22:11):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
And some of these tests they do, they're always doing
tests on the elderly. Uh. And she usually pushes them
to that she does, she tries to, but there's certain
procedures like testing what is this one about her? They
won't do after life. They do something to do with
breathing or something. Yeah, And so they only do them
in the morning. So sometimes we can't get around it.
But it happened again yesterday. It happened. This is becoming blatant.
(22:37):
And I know you love this, Speedy and Adam, you
love it because y'all love to see me in this situation.
And it's getting blatant now. So beautiful day in our
state yesterday, a lot of you had beautiful weather, humidity
left us.
Speaker 8 (22:49):
It was beautiful.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
And you know, I have was raised in the Baptist Church,
and I go to a Baptist church. And you know,
my identity is not in my denomination, it's in Christ.
But and I love humor about the different denominations. Oh yeah,
and the one about the Baptist which is one hundred
(23:12):
percent true.
Speaker 8 (23:12):
We'll have a committee, m We'll have a committed a committee.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Again.
Speaker 3 (23:16):
I remember wondering as a kid hearing my grandmother she
was when every committee there ever was. I didn't even
know what committees were, but I knew my grandmother went
to a lot of them, and she was on all
of them. Well, we had some big had the head hunted,
we had some big meeting. And uh, I know, Speedy,
I didn't see you yesterday because you may have been
doing your duties, were you okay? Sorry, Well I won't
(23:39):
get into that. But anyway, but because because I at
our church, everybody now knows when when we're gonna have
we're gonna be at the Lord's table for the Lord's Supper.
Everybody knows because I walk in that jacket.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
Jacket.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
I mean, the people have been saying that good, oh
we do Lord' supper disk. So what are talking about?
They go, well, you got a jacket. So when I
have to serve and I got in the buying with
the elements yes to day was it was I try
to move.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
It's like when James Span takes his jacket off and
people see just the suspenders, they know it's getting serious.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah, I put one on.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Yeah and the Lord's.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
I said, you don't think I'd wear a jacket this
on a regular Sunday? And you know what they said,
apparently not so. Uh So I had the answers, no,
that's what we go by. Yeah, well because and this
is sad, but it's true. And I had to be
the person who had to point to the obvious. We
and our Sunday school class can't call it life group
(24:34):
and our Sunday school class. One of the leaders in
there that that serves with Sherry and me, said, wow,
our numbers are down today. I wonder why. I mean,
we got less than we had a Labor Day. I said,
you really don't know why. I said, both Auburn and
Alabama played night games last night. He went up, yeah,
but who they played against? I know, but some people
(24:56):
they gonna be there. Oh oh yeah, oh they both
of them are sold. They ain't going to miss one
both day and going to miss one. And I said
that's why attendance is down today, and he goes, oh, yeah, yeah.
So so but we got fewer than we had on
Labor Day weekend. I said, that is correct, So so
any of because the games.
Speaker 8 (25:15):
Were worked out on Labor Day weekend, that din't work
out for this one.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
So anyway, so the numbers were down, so they were
down in worship too, which meant a lot of gaps,
a lot of gaps. So trying to pass those elements
with major gaps. And at one time I was, you know,
because you've seen where my station, Speedy Sity has seen
it first time.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
Oh yes, it's something to watch.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
I've got people on my left and right, so I'm
working the left group and the right group, and I
wish I could see it. And I looked over it
and I determined cost mask confusion. I discovered that one
side had more people in the other one, but yet
they had more elements than the other way.
Speaker 8 (25:51):
And I took the two.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
One was assigned to the group on my left, one
to the grip of my right, and I switched them
as I came down the way, and I did a
little switch cosmask confusion. Let me tell you where we
get shut down a little spin in it. We have
we have some rows that we have some rows that
have cameras on them, so they don't go all the
way to the other end. They hit with the cameraman,
(26:14):
you know, which is on a pedestal of some type
a platform. So it runs. It's a gap. It's like
you have you have like ten seats cameraman on his
you know platform platform, and then it picks back up
on the other side. Well that's my row, but it
hits the cameraman's you know.
Speaker 5 (26:33):
Pedestal gets you every time.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah, and they get confused and they don't know what
to do, and and it got ye.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
I had to call for help.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
I had to tell somebody, I'm running out of elements
over here, okay. And one guy called me, and he said,
I saw you swapped us. I said, well, I didn't
think that was that big a deal. I was trying
to guess. I mean we needed over here. He goes,
it was like, you didn't guess, right, Why aren't you new?
You didn't count. I'm a second year deacon, one year
(27:02):
guy journeyman the first first few months in. So you've
got an alviral mouthy have you? But but anyway, so,
uh so you were correct. But yeah, so then that
came what you don't want business meeting? At five? Got
to come back to the church. So Sherry had a
(27:23):
bunch of stuff she was doing in pergolar world that
she's still obsessed with yard work and fig trees and
and I said, look, I'll go back to the meeting.
I said, I'm just gonna since you're going outside, I'm
just going go over and visiting mom, and I'll just
go back to church from there. So keep in mind,
I've got three hours that I don't have anything. Okay,
(27:46):
I tell Mom, Hey, anything we need to do, let's
go ahead and get it done today.
Speaker 7 (27:50):
No, I don't think. So what's the way you say it?
Speaker 3 (27:52):
And I said, what do you mean? I said, I said,
let's go, let's go. No, I said, I said anything
anything you want to do, let's let's get it done today.
You'll get a jump on the week.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
Get your knees up.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Quote.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
Hey, listen, this is a quote.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
This is a quote.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
This is a quote.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
No, I'm just gonna do that on Tuesday. That's my
normal day with Greg. And I was like, yeah, but
god it, but we could do it now.
Speaker 7 (28:18):
But you're just you're pacing back and forth and then
apparently and.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Then she tries to exactly. Then she tries to make
its me through a bog But here's the thing you
got to love about her, because she's a mom. She
tries to make it sweet. No, let's just visit okay.
And I'm like, okay, that you didn't mean that. That's
sweet And there's nothing I can do with that answer. Yeah,
but you're really just trying to change the topic the subject.
So talking about taking the story. Yeah, you just don't
(28:43):
want me to take it rig I want you know,
I tried Greg, I try, Rick. I know what you're doing.
I know you I got this is the same thing
cutting grass. He messes stuff up.
Speaker 5 (28:52):
Well, they don't want me to do it they want
you to do that.
Speaker 7 (28:54):
Yeah, I know what it is.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
That's why he rushes there an't won't let her stop
the bow go because he know somebody from the textanation says,
I tell you why she didn't take you up on it.
You only had three hours. That's a good one.
Speaker 14 (29:08):
Here we go.
Speaker 7 (29:09):
Yeah, see, we don't need to go clapping at your
mom right your feet, let's go. If you want a
bow going the granada, Yeah, mommy, you need to walk,
let's go.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
They take it easy. Gus smells on. This is in
a hurry up off the right.
Speaker 15 (29:21):
Yeah, so uh the way, by the way, the uh
the speaking of football with the week and the Grambling
coach he called it, didn't he We all know what's
gonna happen?
Speaker 7 (29:31):
Yeah, yeah, seventy. He's a realist.
Speaker 16 (29:34):
You know.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
That was a lot of seventies over the weekend, a
lot of ny farest States of course seventy they did,
Ohio States Court seventy. Seems like it was somebody else Alabama, Billy,
Billy Napier back on the hot seat. What's that thing
from last year we where we got off everybody hatch
Billy again. He's right back on it.
Speaker 5 (29:50):
And that's just sat again.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Did you see the crowd chanting?
Speaker 7 (29:53):
Yes, yeah, But let's talk about USF though. I mean,
they beat Boise State top twenty five, and then they
beat Florida. I mean, did you see the coaching staff
going nuts when they after the game that I guess
they were all coming back up into the box or
coming down whatever.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
They were going nuts.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
And then Florida coaches having to walk right by it.
Speaker 8 (30:12):
That's all. Well, you know how you can stop all that?
Speaker 3 (30:15):
Yeah, when Billy thought he have something, Yeah, Billy's it's
almost like Billy's cut a deal with Florida, going y'all know,
only we only do good at the end of the season. Yeah,
come on, give me we never do good at the beginning.
Speaker 7 (30:28):
So and and you know what, I hate great, I
mean you hate it for him, But I guess yeah,
u USF you gotta watch out.
Speaker 5 (30:35):
I guess yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
I mean they're not I mean a surprise.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
Maybe. Hey, they're a big school. They're probably write big jack.
Speaker 8 (30:40):
When we come back.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
Congratulations Bulls fans when we come back, uh, Missispi State, Yeah,
how about that. I sent something to Adler. There's a
funny video clip that's out in audio two for those
of you listening of the touchdown pass that won the game.
And they start scanning the cow bell crowd and there's
one particular mom that's in the in the in the
(31:03):
skating that is hilarious and U and so I was
so happy for for a state. I love that. And
that's that's a number twelve in the nation, Arizona State
coming into the startle, speeding, riving through a lot that
can have I was so, oh, yeah, well since.
Speaker 7 (31:21):
Coach of late past, and I said, yeah, it's been tough, man,
it is.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
It's fun to see something like that happen.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
PA Nness, Scots seventy two. Wow, about a seventies.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
I didn't do a lot of that. We'll be back.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Second, this is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who
shaved thirty minutes off his last road trip.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
Rick Bogus, all right.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
So we're back. We'll jump in a little bit of
college football now. I would not expect a call from
our speedy pursuing mister Nadmeier today because he said he
wasn't going to the game.
Speaker 7 (32:09):
No, he said he was not. He was not care
about the next few weeks.
Speaker 5 (32:13):
No he did not.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
He basically he said for us to get in contact
with him when when Bama plays a meaningful game again
and wins it. And so I saw her. You know,
you never know over the weekend with all this AI stuff,
you don't know what's real and what's fake. Uh and so,
but Greg said he thought it was real too, that
(32:36):
we did have the coliner Susie. It was a woman
who's an Alabama fan that was had tried to win
the lottery and she said, if she wins the lottery,
she herself will buy out Kaylen de Bor's contract.
Speaker 5 (32:48):
Yes, that was real.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
Was it Susie from Gardendale or something like that? Am
I just throwing Gardendale out there? I mean maybe, but
she's gonna go ahead and if she wins the lottery,
she will buy Kaylen de boor out. Then I saw
another one that after the loss, and Sharon and I
were researching this because she is like, well, that can't
be true. It was claiming that his wife made a
comment after they lost the first game that he had
(33:14):
gone through some sort of mental I saw or something.
And is that true? I don't know what's faking what's real.
I don't give it much, But is this Susie here.
Speaker 5 (33:24):
Yeah, here, sus this is from News nineteen.
Speaker 17 (33:28):
Okay, I tell exactly what I'd do with the first
seventy million. I'd pay off Kaitlin to Boord and get
him the heck out of the University of Alabama, and
then I'd take whatever else it took to get rid
of the a D.
Speaker 5 (33:42):
I'd give my church money.
Speaker 17 (33:44):
I don't know how much of what i'd have, you know,
after I paid my taxes, but I'm sure i'd have
plenty with this this kind of deal.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
But I know I'm not gonna win.
Speaker 17 (33:51):
I just hope I win some scratch offs.
Speaker 5 (33:55):
So Susi from.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
Who I think they had two winners.
Speaker 10 (34:00):
Great.
Speaker 5 (34:00):
First thing I'm gonna do is about Kevin bor Yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
I don't know how much I have to call wow,
but Alabama did win, and they won convincing over lot Monroe.
But that's probably hasn't gotten that that seed any any
cooler based on Susie there. And there's other things. But
I want to get to the state thing because because
well I'm I will say this. I love the people
(34:24):
of Startwelle, Missippi. Uh, y'all have been so good to us.
You've been so good. Uh, to our families. You know,
you know Brooks graduating there. We had a wonderful four
years there. Y'all are so good to him and such
incredible host. We love tailgating with all of you those
four years. I love the Mississippi State people.
Speaker 10 (34:46):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
And you can almost if couch when you look at
somebody like Speedy's dad who salted the earth.
Speaker 5 (34:51):
To me, that's that's that's the start.
Speaker 3 (34:53):
Will fan Uh, they're they're kind, they have zero expectations,
uh that they'll they'll they'll be there for their team,
but for a team lets them down.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
You know.
Speaker 3 (35:03):
They they just worked their way through it. And when
something good happens for Missippi State, I'm all in and
and I and I love it and so and you
know it's and them last year. You know, this whole
n I L is starting over, Like you said, when
Leech died and you know, the program was had and then
now you're it's just been it's been an incredible run
(35:27):
and of difficulty. And so when something good happens, like
beating the number twelve team in the nation on this
final play, well close to final play, I think there
was like thirty seconds left. Yeah, this is this is
what college football is all about. This is and I'm
sorry if you're an Arizona State fan, but I know.
But right, but y'all, look y'all don't know what we've
been through. So y'all mus know, right, y'all got the
(35:49):
playoff last year. Enjoy that, all right. So so here
it is warming up on the sideline.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
Two players to get nine yards to keep the game going.
Speaker 9 (35:59):
Pressure kicked up, sheeping, why.
Speaker 7 (36:10):
The bells and ring right, So this whole time, I
still don't believe it.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
I'm looking for I'm looking for a flag. I'm waiting
in them. But wait, wait a minute, the flag back
behind like horry me all right?
Speaker 3 (36:23):
So and I many okay, I watched this woman coming
right here with her two boys. One of them is
just hanging on. Sorry about that.
Speaker 5 (36:30):
We've been there. I'm sorry, we've all been there. There
is on the stop. Look right here, look at him.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
He's about to cry.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
Like mama, come down. Mom had the hold of her.
Speaker 7 (36:44):
Son, his arm sweezing into death.
Speaker 8 (36:51):
So God love him, God love him. That's a good ending.
Speaker 7 (36:54):
The uh now, the gold post thing, I think they
they took him down. They didn't they drop they dropped
them and got them out, and I think they had
the help of some if they but they were just
firing them out.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
Whatever. Yeah, but back to the yea.
Speaker 7 (37:11):
Unless you're just part of a program that just wins
all the time, you don't really truly know what it's like.
I know we've all had heartbreaking sports, but when you
are a fan of of you just never know. Uh,
it's tough because you don't know if it's real or not.
Like for me, there's thirty seconds left, I'm like, well,
we've left too much time on the clock, you know,
(37:32):
you know, your dooms not too quick. And Terry always
has to call me down because she's like, the game's
not over, it's the third quarter.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
No, we're giving the lead up.
Speaker 16 (37:41):
That is it.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
Because you've been so heartbroken so.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Many at least it gets on to me for that too.
She'll go, my goodness, you're so negative. It's the first
quarter and I do it.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
Nothing lead it's skipping, that's it. Yeah, classic, you know.
Speaker 3 (37:55):
Yeah, And I think then when we won, it's like wow, Yeah,
and they didn't tear down the go post right.
Speaker 7 (38:00):
No, that's what I was saying. They took them down
and then carried them out. Yeah, so it appeared as
though they did, but they were just getting them down
and getting the time.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Look for any.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
Excuse to climb on the gold.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
I even remember when you know, my oldest son played
for Auburn, go into state and it would be a
very pleasant experience. And then of course when Brooks went there,
we went all maroon and enjoyed those four years. I
just I just love the fan base, I love that program,
and I love that town. And as a matter of fact,
I'm gonna let start win a little something love ninety
six one there. They've been so good to us, to
(38:32):
all the Rick and Bubby years and staying with the
new show, and they're always so supportive. I will go
ahead and let you go in a little something. We
are going to bring a man Church conference back to
Starkbell in twenty twenty six.
Speaker 5 (38:45):
That's awesome.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
So you'll get more details on that probably first of October,
at the end of this month, but we are coming
back to Startbell.
Speaker 8 (38:53):
We had such a great experience there.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
It'll be we'll be.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Doing it at a different venue. And then there's another
thing happening in twenty twenty six. There's gonna be a
big announcement coming up involving the show that also will
include a start, will stop, here we go and some
other places too. But so that's that's that's that's good.
I enjoyed that.
Speaker 5 (39:14):
And I thought that was funny watching that mama.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
With the with the a little boy.
Speaker 7 (39:18):
It's like he was holding on to him and jumping
up and down and squeezing the fire.
Speaker 5 (39:23):
Out of him.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Like so well, we'll be back a few interesting things
from the weekend involving football. We won't spend too much
more time on it, but there is smart stuff.
Speaker 5 (39:34):
But she was shaking him like a cow bell. She was.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
Okay. So there's a lot of things in life that
you go this is just not enjoyable. I think. Right
up there and it got to be in your top
ten is nausea?
Speaker 8 (39:53):
You ever been nauseated?
Speaker 13 (39:54):
Is there?
Speaker 3 (39:54):
I mean you're just like, hey, anything we can do

Go America?
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Bring your hands together. I'm me blesund him all. I'm
ready for some more Greggler here, Greig.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
So we do have a lot to do still going
ahead today. Unscreen phone calls coming may get through a
hay burd hay birds. A lot of those over the
weekend as well.
Speaker 5 (42:17):
We'll see.
Speaker 14 (42:18):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
So we talked, We talked a lot. We talked to
the Miss America pageant and my wife, of course, I
went to bed and she came to bed after, you know,
watching it on YouTube. And and you know how you
can wake up a lot of times if we're coming
to bed. You know that we've talked about our wives.
We love them so much, but they don't come in
(42:39):
and out of the room quietly. I mean, I can't
believe you were in there trying to sleep. You're so
excited over the bad. Well, I admit I was going
to bed earlier until I saw them bring out the
Miss Americas from the past, and I thought I better.
Speaker 5 (42:53):
Stay with this for the show.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
So anyway, show but anyway, so I go on to bed,
well share is three old because and you remember we
actually interviewed her back on Rick and bub University when
we did the one about a l s Miss Alabama.
Speaker 4 (43:09):
Huh.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
And so so Sherry is like just cheering for Miss
Alabama and Sherry's Sherry was being a little bit, I
will say, confident about our Southern ladies. I think the
final some reason they did the final eleven but instead
of ten, but that it was like it felt like
like seven of them were Southern women. You know, it
(43:30):
was all the Southern states, because we do have the
most beautiful women in the Hey we're hard to be
ye okay, yeah, And so I mean we just got
beautiful women everywhere from all over the South. And and
Sherry's like, you know, but I'm really pulled it from
Miss Alabama. But I hope somebody from the South winds
and all of a sudden they announced in the final
eleven Miss New York and she and.
Speaker 8 (43:53):
She'd be giving a bunch of you know, it.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
Was a lady right, yeah, yes, I think woke answers
to all the questions. You know, we were just boom
and uh and so I'm not baby, I'm sorry, I
might have to leave you with this. I got to
go to bed, and she and then she said it.
You gave her one more book, she said it. All
of a sudden, Miss Alabama goes down to the final
five and Sherry goes I think she's gonna win. I said, oh,
(44:16):
oh no, honey. So anyway, so I go to bed.
I don't see what happens, and all of a sudden
I hear Sherry coming to bed. I was asleep, of course.
Now I'm up for a minute, and you start adjusting
in the bed like that, and you think, do I do?
I call out in the darkness, who won? I'm awake
enough to do it. I know it's on her mind
right now. She'd love to share, you know, but there's
a chance therefore, there's a chance I could be trapped,
(44:38):
you know, and now getting a full ball on conversation
when I did, I didn't want to.
Speaker 5 (44:41):
Go that far with it.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
You just needed I wanted one, you know, one body
adjustment in the bed. See if I can get a
little snugly, you know, and go back to sleep. And
and here she comes moving in the bed. You know,
the beauty of the wonderful here they come, moving over
and getting theirselves into bed.
Speaker 8 (44:58):
Baby, Miss Alabama win.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
No, you're up, And I said, oh, and they gave
it to Miss New York. I said, oh, wow, this
is worse than I thought.
Speaker 8 (45:08):
I hope it. I was hoping to go to.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
I think Miss Georgia was there in the final five,
and you know she's six foot one, and you know,
they talked about that a lot. And by the way,
he's kind of like they used to tell us last
year how Royan Williams was seventeen the entire season. They
must have told us that woman was six foot one.
I just only wanted to go to only washed it
for ten minutes now.
Speaker 5 (45:26):
But I heard it four times.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Yeah, you know at six foot one, you know she's
six foot one, and you know now being six foot one.
Speaker 5 (45:32):
But anyway, here's that moment if you want it, And boy,
they really milk it. They milk it. What'll we doing there? Yeah? Goodness,
what they're embracing because Miss Texas up there.
Speaker 3 (45:42):
I thought, Texas.
Speaker 5 (45:44):
There, Miss Texas in Texas, Look you.
Speaker 18 (45:47):
Are new twenty twenty six, Miss America?
Speaker 5 (45:51):
Is I get there? Really milking it?
Speaker 8 (45:56):
Come on, I could.
Speaker 5 (45:58):
I'm Bill milk It. I'm glad you hear the New York.
Speaker 10 (46:10):
You live.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
And then the runner up's got she's happy for her,
and you know she's not.
Speaker 5 (46:14):
That lady looks like she's, you know, been in a
terrible car accident or something.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
But we're talking about.
Speaker 5 (46:20):
What she's crying. It's like, my goodness, what a statement.
Speaker 8 (46:25):
Oh my good okay, but.
Speaker 5 (46:26):
She's losing it. You're miss America, my goodness, keeping together?
Speaker 3 (46:30):
Then and then and then when, just when I thought, okay,
let's go on back to sleep. Since miss album from
Alabama runner up, no fourth alternate, I'm sorry, alternate, I'm sorry,
comes a commentary, but we're gonna have to have.
Speaker 2 (46:44):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
I'm like America, Miss America plus three before she would
be of that crown ain't gonna stay on her head.
Don't forget it.
Speaker 5 (46:52):
The person that's crowning it is the lady from last
year who's from Auburn, Alabama. Her name, I forgot her name.
She was you got some heat for going to meet
Trump in the Oval Office. Oh oh yeah, got yeah.
But anyway, so that's what I guess. They had a
chick from Alabama last time. So they had to go
with New York this night.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Didn't Trump I own one to lib. Didn't he own
Miss Usa?
Speaker 5 (47:15):
He did?
Speaker 3 (47:16):
That's different, That's yeah. I get confused on the US.
One one standing away.
Speaker 8 (47:20):
With a swimsuit. One's taken even more often.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
Oh okay, okay, let me guess one trumped.
Speaker 8 (47:25):
That's correct.
Speaker 5 (47:26):
Okay, he sold it. Yeah, uh, he owned it from
ninety six to twenty fifteen. Okay, so no longer a
while ago here it was the.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
Miss Universe organization, and so that soon goes to the
Miss Universe, the Miss USA, not Miss America.
Speaker 5 (47:41):
I think so, yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 3 (47:43):
I honestly think right now, with everything I'm seeing on TV,
if there had been a state that was bold enough,
bold enough for a big, a big girl in there,
she'd have one. Oh yeah, absolutely, But nobody was bold
enough to do it that I could tell.
Speaker 8 (47:56):
Yeah, So I was only there there briefly.
Speaker 3 (47:58):
Yeah, and you didn't really say broke good down for
right now. If you want to go to the Miss
America's of the past, now, that was different. So but
it was so and then back to football, so uh
so back with this.
Speaker 7 (48:10):
This was last night. So so the Bills and the
Ravens were on and.
Speaker 8 (48:16):
I didn't watch any of that.
Speaker 5 (48:18):
I was.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
I was really good, Remember I was back for I was.
I was at the committee meeting.
Speaker 5 (48:22):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
So I came back from the committee meeting and was
just going to go to bed. And then I found
out that Shery couldn't she was when I saw her
watching Miss America on her phone. I'm like, maybe surely
Miss America's on the TV, and she was like niney
more and so so so I went in my phone,
my phone, I went and found the YouTube thing and
they watched it on YouTube, which is weird that Miss
(48:43):
America is only on streaming now. But anyway, now I
didn't watch. I saw with Mama. I watched the Falcons,
uh and and the Buccaneers. That's all the NFL. I
saw college. I saw a little bit of Old miss
in Kentucky good game, saw a little bit of Michigan
(49:05):
Oklahoma good game.
Speaker 16 (49:07):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
And I saw State which would just celebrate, right. So
I saw that's all I saw. So that that so
the NFL, even though there were some you know, I
saw some big wins. Yeah, some important things happen. You know,
a lot of drama. So I saw that Aaron Rodgers
went back and beat the Jets. He did in a
close game, played pretty well and.
Speaker 7 (49:28):
Had like four touchdowns all days, maybe more Brodie's Colts one.
Speaker 3 (49:33):
The coach won big yeah, And I saw they won
like they was a big surprise. They beat the Dolphins,
beat them bad.
Speaker 5 (49:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (49:41):
Yeah, And it was a little drama there, Yeah, it
didn't like Yeah when that when when the players got
an argument with the coach?
Speaker 5 (49:47):
What was No?
Speaker 7 (49:48):
That was the Giants, Giants.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
The Giants had some rookie of the mouthing off to
the coach.
Speaker 7 (49:52):
Yeah, receiver, wasn't it saying that give me the ball?
They the Giants have got a decision to make. I mean,
Jason Dart is, I mean, he's Jackson Dart Sorry, he
seems to be the real deal.
Speaker 8 (50:06):
I mean, coming from a state game.
Speaker 7 (50:08):
Yeah, but you go, I mean, you're gonna start in
my head of I don't know.
Speaker 5 (50:12):
Russell Wilson, Yeah, I mean I'm not.
Speaker 7 (50:14):
I'm sad you do, but I mean the offense couldn't
really do anything. Washington kind of owned him, and I
don't know, I.
Speaker 3 (50:19):
Just wonder, didn't Wilson blood the whole time?
Speaker 7 (50:22):
Yeah. The coach seemed to act like he wasn't going
to make a decision right now, but it.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Would be better let him sit behind somewhere for a
minute now if you're losing, though, Yeah, you know.
Speaker 7 (50:31):
Yeah, but there was there were some good games in
the NFL. It's a Dealer's and pack.
Speaker 1 (50:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (50:37):
The but that Bucks and Falcons game you talked about
came down to the end and Jacob Mayfield wow, threw
a touchdown pass.
Speaker 8 (50:43):
About a minute that was watching that with mom, did it?
Does it hurt you though?
Speaker 3 (50:48):
That the Falcons with only like thirty seconds took it
all the way down.
Speaker 8 (50:51):
Maybe it was a little more than that, maybe it's
forty seven seconds.
Speaker 3 (50:54):
They took it down the field and got their self
into field goal range and then the gun and actually
and and they bring in area as we talk about it, Yeah, yeah,
they bring in young Foo and uh and he uh
he misses it. Yeah, he rarely misses.
Speaker 5 (51:10):
Of course, of course they were talking about how good
he is.
Speaker 3 (51:12):
Yeah, the announcer had to make sure we knew that
before you talk about kids of death.
Speaker 7 (51:16):
Right, yeah. So uh, and it is weird because you know,
we're all about college football here and We've pretty outspoken
about that. But for the rest of the rest of
the country, it's NFL, NFL, NFL, NFL, but we're more
focused on Saturdays and Sundays.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Really, I don't pretend to to care that much about
the NFL, but but it did happen this weekend, so
I didn't want to mention it. But college right now,
you know, those are the games we mentioned were really
the only one only ones that really any significance. Now
Clemson got in trouble with Troy, but but yeah, came
back to win long weather delay, and then of course
(51:51):
Florida getting beat by South Florida.
Speaker 8 (51:53):
That's I mean South Florida.
Speaker 3 (51:54):
I mean, I understand that Florida's supposed to win that game,
but it's not like getting beat by you know, a
small school or something like that.
Speaker 8 (52:03):
But I understand.
Speaker 3 (52:04):
So right now, it's Ohio State one, Penn State two,
LSU three, Oregon got upset and really Oregon really took
out Oklahoma State. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they you know,
you know, they got mad because apparently Gundy said something
about their forty eight million dollar roster last year that
you know, and he said he was really trying to
(52:25):
be complimentary, but somehow they took it and there's a
battle cry. Yeah. So Oregon drilled Oklahoma State sixty nine
to three, right, and then Miami is at four, Georgia six,
Texas seven, Notre Dame eight, Illinois nine, and Florida State
moves to ten.
Speaker 7 (52:45):
Speaking of Texas, arch Manning has he always down.
Speaker 5 (52:48):
The ball apparently?
Speaker 3 (52:50):
I guess what it?
Speaker 5 (52:51):
Side arm again this week? So was that his thing
he's always done that? I guess he's Bernie Cozar. There
were some shots of slow Moo where you can see
him almost wincing when he's left. I didn't go to
the ball. I had a good game, though, What was
it hard for? Was it four touchdowns?
Speaker 3 (53:05):
I thought, yeah, yeah, I had.
Speaker 5 (53:06):
A great game. But there's there's some weird replays that
I saw over the weekend where arch Manny's face doesn't
look right as he's letting go of the ball. Interesting.
Speaker 3 (53:14):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is where logic
meets the left, the Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 3 (53:38):
Here we go. Thank you for being with us, found,
thank you for being with us America. We are so
thankful to be back from the weekend and spending some
time with you, and uh, you know, we had a
great time over the weekend. We've run down some of
the things. A lot of you were mentioning the Raven's
(54:01):
Bills game.
Speaker 8 (54:02):
That's not like that was crazy.
Speaker 7 (54:04):
Yes, I didn't see that. I was I was watching
a little bit of that game. I just knew it
was on, So I turned over Derrick Henry was going nuts.
They couldn't and then fumbles with about three minutes Oh
and I think it was like forty thirty two at
the time, and the Ravens were up. So the Bills
(54:27):
go down to score, go for two, don't make it.
And then the Bills, who hadn't been able to stop
the Ravens all night, they make them go three and out,
get the ball back, go down, kick field goal.
Speaker 11 (54:39):
Win.
Speaker 8 (54:40):
Well, they played defense when they needed.
Speaker 7 (54:41):
Yeah, it was it was a really good game.
Speaker 5 (54:43):
I've got a couple of clips from that game that
were very odd occurrences. Did speedy Did you see when
the Ravens thought the game was over, the ref had
to get on the mic and yell at the Ravens
players to return to the field. This was at half
going into halftime. Oh, that's half time. Yeah, yeah, I
did see this. Yeah, they were going up the tunnel. Okay,
(55:06):
and so that kid whoa way that kick was made
with no time left. But that was at halftime. Okay,
it's all right, right, I feel so much better.
Speaker 7 (55:13):
Well, it's uh the if I remember correctly, the Bills
had thrown a ball to the sideline and they thought
the time had expired, but there was still one second
on the clock, gotcha.
Speaker 5 (55:22):
And and so it gave.
Speaker 7 (55:23):
Him a chance. It gave him a chance to kick
a field goal to you what you're talking about, U
and making it twenty thirteen.
Speaker 5 (55:29):
There you go. Okay, So when I saw these highlights,
I was like, I thought it.
Speaker 7 (55:34):
Was the end of the game, my bat right, Yeah, yeah,
but there was still one second left. Uh and so
but and Dereck Henry had a stiff arm. Of all
stiff arms. That's another highlight reel. His stiff arms. I
can't imagine if I'm a dB and here and here
he comes, and I'm like, well here it goes.
Speaker 5 (55:51):
Well, another highlight reel.
Speaker 3 (55:52):
And you may not be able to do it if
he can get if he can get some space between
you and him.
Speaker 5 (55:55):
He's so strong.
Speaker 3 (55:57):
I know they're teaching with these some of these big
strong on backs and they're in receivers in their forum
and their stiff arm. Now I mean is to grab
the arm and just fall backward with them, right, you
know something. But if they get space though, it's hard
to do that.
Speaker 5 (56:10):
You know.
Speaker 7 (56:10):
This is this I mean, don't forget now, Oh my gosh,
bless his heart. So he might you might have a
concussion from the ground from the stiff arm. Now, uh,
don't forget. This is the best in the world, right
that he's playing against. Oh, he's not a high schooler
playing against middle school.
Speaker 5 (56:24):
Here's the final kick of that game, which I thought
that was that last clip was leading up to, but
this isn't. This is the actual end of the game. Yeah,
we named field goal and do you did you hear
the story of the kicker? Here's speeds? No? I did not. Okay,
So that is forty one year old what's his name Prader? Oh?
Speaker 19 (56:46):
Yeah, Matt Prater. Yeah, Mark Prater has made it to
the NFL. Yeah, Matt, Matt praid. Matt, forty one year
old Matt Prater. He has over four hundred and fifty
field goals in his career. He took a red eye
on third stay to join the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 5 (57:01):
And he nailed that game winning field goal.
Speaker 7 (57:03):
They just added him.
Speaker 5 (57:06):
Look at you, So I down cheer for the old guys.
Whenever I watch sports, you find yourself doing.
Speaker 3 (57:12):
That, well, the space that you go to work every
day and cheer for three of them.
Speaker 7 (57:15):
Yes, yeah, so.
Speaker 5 (57:17):
It's it's an odd feeling. I'm you know, I'm cheering
for Novak, I'm cheering for Matt Prater. Anybody if you're
in your late thirties or I'm like, go buddy, yes,
you're giving me hope for my life.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
Oh yeah yeah.
Speaker 5 (57:28):
And then as the as the Ravens were leaving the field,
there was a Bills fan shoving player the Ravens players,
and Derrick Henry shoved him back. So there's one Ravens
player getting hit. And then you can see here it
from this other angle right here that and then uh,
excuse me, Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 7 (57:47):
And a lot of people are like, you know what,
we are defending Lamar Jackson here. I know you should
just keep on going, but you can't reach out the
opposing play team and just start slapping him on the helmet. No,
he kind of pushed back. It was a push. Yeah,
that fan was being an idiot.
Speaker 3 (58:03):
Yeah. By the way, I think that that goes into
the you ain't go put your hands on nobody. No, no, yeah,
I agree, all of us can we can have conversations. Yes,
I know the by the way I saw, Speaking of
these kind of clips, there were some people that showed
a lot of self control over the weekend.
Speaker 5 (58:20):
I saw it.
Speaker 3 (58:20):
You know, Clemson fans were a little frustrated early in
the game because you know, Troy was beating them seventeen nothing,
and there was a deal that everybody was showing. These
two Clemson fans. Basically, a guy ran into somebody. He
was like, hey man, you got to get off of me.
And the guy kept talking to him, and the guy said, look,
it's over. I just said, don't do that. Now, move on.
(58:41):
Why are you still standing here? If you put your
hands on me, it's gonna get ugly. And the guy
he goes, but you're still talking. Why don't you just
go on?
Speaker 5 (58:49):
It's over?
Speaker 8 (58:50):
Okay, right now we have no incident.
Speaker 3 (58:52):
But if you don't go and you keep this up,
so right now, you've made your point.
Speaker 8 (58:56):
I made mine.
Speaker 3 (58:57):
Time to go, So why are you still here talking
to me.
Speaker 5 (59:00):
Move on.
Speaker 3 (59:00):
Yeah, and of course it finally the guy had, you know,
more level head.
Speaker 8 (59:04):
But so we we.
Speaker 7 (59:06):
Back to college real quick. This this coming weekend starts
starts Friday. I know this makes Greg mad. You got Indiana,
Indiana State and all that kind of stuff. But but
some other big games. You got Clemson, Georgia Tech, you
got Alabama Wisconsin. Uh, of course you've got the Georgia
Tennessee game that everybody's going to be focused on.
Speaker 5 (59:25):
Yep.
Speaker 7 (59:25):
Uh and uh, let's see here, what was the other one?
Arkansas and Old Miss l s U Florida, Vanderbilt, South Carolina.
So there's some there's some big games this weekend leading
looking at you.
Speaker 8 (59:36):
Yeah, this this past weekend.
Speaker 3 (59:37):
We mentioned them in college football, you know we it
was like you had to kind of mine for them,
you know, like I mentioned you know, Ole Miss Kentucky
that was good. Uh, Michigan Oklahoma was good.
Speaker 5 (59:49):
But it was hard.
Speaker 3 (59:50):
It was hard to find now and if you're on
teams playing like you know, we got excited that Arizona
State Missippi State turned out to be a great game.
But honestly, I was afraid he was to be on
the bad side, but it turned out to be a
great game.
Speaker 8 (01:00:03):
But yeah, it was.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
Some people asking about Dicky Nadmar today, he said he
was not going to the game and that he would
not be commenting anymore on the Tide until something changes.
And I don't think this weekend, but it doesn't A
beer has brought much either of you.
Speaker 5 (01:00:19):

made their way to the Tinglewood Festival and beautiful Montavado, Alabama.
Speaker 8 (01:05:06):
Yep, what a beautiful place it is.
Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
Apparently this festival's background involves chainsaw art. And as you
see me there as the ambassador for Alabama, laughed out
light at that pit for the semi Quinn Centennial. Notice,
I have a new I have a new shirt, and
I have on the Uncle Sam hat.
Speaker 5 (01:05:26):
It's a good shirt. It is a good shirt, good logo.
Speaker 8 (01:05:29):
Two hundred and fifty.
Speaker 3 (01:05:30):
Now I mentioned earlier, and I won't go back and
revisit that if you don't want me to. I did
leave there realizing that we no longer teach American history
and kids and too many adults have no idea the
history of the country. And I'm going to tell you
the questions that were being asked to get people a
chance to spend their little tiny will.
Speaker 8 (01:05:52):
So you had a little will, little tiny will, and then.
Speaker 7 (01:05:54):
If you got okay, and if you got the question right,
you could.
Speaker 3 (01:05:58):
Spin you could spend all right, and so a lot
of children wanted to spend that's fine. But there were
people that were far too old, far too old, deep
into school, junior high in high school, and adults that
could not answer the basic questions.
Speaker 8 (01:06:15):
Guys, can I give you the questions? I can? There
weren't many of them.
Speaker 5 (01:06:19):
Here's here's you come up with the questions. So they
gave you questions.
Speaker 3 (01:06:24):
The American village came up with the questions. Okay, now
I started riffing because my finess. We couldn't get that speedy.
You would have turned into a bowlu jelly.
Speaker 7 (01:06:34):
Okay, faked the phone call and walked up by the
way and I'm sorry, excuse me, hello.
Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
And Melanie, Melanie who was from American village, she was
no nonsense.
Speaker 5 (01:06:44):
Can this picture here where you're talking to this little girl, like,
are you saying? It looks like you're saying, now, explain
why the Second Amendment is so important?
Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
Yeah, now, that didn't happen. I was asking something really difficult.
Who was the first president of the United States?
Speaker 5 (01:06:56):
Okay, gotcha?
Speaker 7 (01:06:56):
Yeah, red face there, I could see how hot you
are from it. A picture says everything. That little red
face right there.
Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
The yeah, I couldn't believe when someone answered Donald Trump
one time.
Speaker 5 (01:07:08):
But it's not true. All right.
Speaker 3 (01:07:10):
So the question, the one, the one that the percentage
of people that got this one right was about one percent.
Who was the second president of the United States? That
it stumped everybody. Nobody knew John Adams, all right, who
wrote the Declaration of Independence? Can get anybody get that
one right? My favorite answer still will be Martin Luther
King Jr.
Speaker 5 (01:07:30):
Okay, you try to help him like.
Speaker 4 (01:07:34):
This.
Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
Had one guy who was who argued with us that
it was John Hancock, and I said, just because he
had to be in the biggest signature, he didn't write it. Yeah,
Thomas Jefferson pretty sure on that one.
Speaker 5 (01:07:48):
It was a committee.
Speaker 8 (01:07:49):
But name two of the original thirteen colonies.
Speaker 5 (01:07:54):
That was a blood bath.
Speaker 3 (01:07:55):
I mean the they they didn't a lot of them't
even know what a colony was. Okay, it was I
had to say, there are states that are still happening,
just take a shot, okay, and uh, the answer that
was wrong the most Washington. They just threw Washington in there,
and I said that, I know you don't mean Washington State.
(01:08:16):
You're probably talking about the district of Columbia. Not an
original colony. It's a district we came up with on
the capitol. But if you'd just hit me with Virginia,
you get to be in great.
Speaker 5 (01:08:27):
Didn't know that.
Speaker 3 (01:08:28):
Uh, it was how many stripes are on the flag?
Speaker 8 (01:08:34):
Up ended quite a.
Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
Few, the many stars on the flag.
Speaker 5 (01:08:39):
Alarming number of wrong answers.
Speaker 7 (01:08:42):
Did anybody get to spend?
Speaker 20 (01:08:45):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (01:08:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
Eventually we started giving partials, we started helping. We would
give multiple guesses the what's saw a dad come. Dad
come completely unglued that his son did not know American
history and began to scream that all they're doing is
to teaching my son how to take tests and not
teaching me anything. Couldn't he couldn't believe your son didn't
(01:09:08):
know it. You know what I said, We got American village,
we got all the resources. Maybe you're just gonna have
to teach you to him. Schools aren't going to h
no surprise here. The homeschooling private kids did much better
than the government school kids.
Speaker 5 (01:09:21):
Straight up, straight up.
Speaker 3 (01:09:24):
But they were lacking more than I expected. And but
but there was a low percentage.
Speaker 5 (01:09:29):
But it was.
Speaker 3 (01:09:31):
It was an alarming day for our country. But it was,
But it was a lot of fun. What was Gary's
commentary on that? Hey, let me tell you something. These
kids don't know nothing, And I was Gary loud, you're
real loud.
Speaker 7 (01:09:41):
Yeah, he'll say it in front of them.
Speaker 8 (01:09:42):
He did that.
Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
I'm pretty sure that kid's crying. Hey had little Hey fella,
you don't know nothing. Hey, okay, don't say that. And
you know, just give me no walk around?
Speaker 7 (01:09:52):
Gary?
Speaker 3 (01:09:53):
Yeah, how many more chances you're gonna give him?
Speaker 5 (01:09:54):
What is this?
Speaker 3 (01:09:56):
This's what's wrong with our country right here? So here's Gary?
Speaker 13 (01:09:59):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:09:59):
Is it the turkey? When I think they're there? So
they were doing all kinds of art with chainsaws, and
and here's Gary and I going over with the chain
So is that.
Speaker 5 (01:10:08):
What that beaver is in the back? All that's chainsaw art? Wow?
Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
And we thought the art would be more patriotic than
it was. But what's this guy making?
Speaker 5 (01:10:20):
He's making a turkey?
Speaker 11 (01:10:23):
Look at that?
Speaker 3 (01:10:24):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (01:10:25):
Really loud?
Speaker 7 (01:10:29):
Yeah, So Garry, could you think you could do that
with a chainsaw?
Speaker 3 (01:10:33):
You probably take me? Huh? You know, Gary, you even
though that's a woodman.
Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
If you had your doll with it.
Speaker 5 (01:10:43):
He's come out fat numb, he's come out fact dumb.
Speaker 7 (01:10:47):
That's good, Harry, here's got a frog tag on. Well,
Gary is being bald and getting hot. It's tough because
the sweat just pours down your face and he was soaking.
Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
With my favorite nature For how many states are sixty?
Speaker 5 (01:11:06):
Sixty? Had that? Where'd they come up with that? Sixty?
Speaker 3 (01:11:10):
And remember I told you we had people and we
asked when we signed the Decoration of Independence, they threw
out various nineteen hundred dates, had a nineteen seventy six,
which was close sort of that one at night, had
somebody tell us the country was fifty years old.
Speaker 5 (01:11:25):
While you had a two hundred and fifty shirt on.
Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
And had a person didn't know the state bird while
wearing an eagle on their shirt. Okay, so so.
Speaker 7 (01:11:36):
Not state bird our national work. I sorry, I got it.
Speaker 3 (01:11:39):
What is our national bird symbol? It was all over
the logo and all over the person shirt and they
couldn't get it. So yeah, but Yellowhammer, Yeah, but anyway,
it was. It was It was interesting. Here is someone
who was actually making something patriotic. Oh, this was an
(01:12:01):
actual eagle head, which was very impressive.
Speaker 5 (01:12:03):
By the way, here at the single word. So it
wasn't you working all right, there.
Speaker 2 (01:12:10):
You're fixing the saw.
Speaker 5 (01:12:11):
What are y'all making there?
Speaker 16 (01:12:15):
Oh? Look at that eagle?
Speaker 5 (01:12:19):
Is it almost business?
Speaker 16 (01:12:20):
You go about the saw?
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
You got her fixing the saw for you?
Speaker 9 (01:12:24):
Yeah, it didn't work.
Speaker 10 (01:12:27):
Let me say that right there.
Speaker 5 (01:12:28):
Let's take a look at it. You know that really
is impressive. So many chainsaws.
Speaker 14 (01:12:40):
All right?
Speaker 7 (01:12:41):
Look at that about the sound of a chainsaw? Somebody
means business?
Speaker 3 (01:12:45):
They know?
Speaker 7 (01:12:46):
Did Could they tell you were handy when you were
walking around?
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
They could? I wasn't notice that. You don't hear anything.
That's me asking anything to me to help them to
fix the chainsaw. Yeah, I pulled out a Philip said screwdriver,
stared at him. I said, tell you what's wrong with anybody?
Speaker 4 (01:13:00):
Right right?
Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
And then there's a real short one. And this is
Gary talking about bringing his dog, bringing his dog honey.
I think that's the last one message. Let's say, Yeah,
that's it.
Speaker 5 (01:13:14):
I should have brought my dog.
Speaker 10 (01:13:16):
Nobody health He brought.
Speaker 5 (01:13:17):
There o dogs. Now he didn't call it Dingleberry all
all the all day.
Speaker 3 (01:13:24):
Didn't he Hey, let's gonna meet mister dingle I said
tingle all right.
Speaker 5 (01:13:29):
So they've got all these chainsaw artists carving up wood.
And then I noticed there were nets all around.
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
I guess that people can't call themselves that nobody didn't
nobody knows how to that had just walked right into it.
Speaker 5 (01:13:41):
Wowspit of your favorite. Isn't smart of them to do that?
Speaker 3 (01:13:44):
Your favorite were people that weren't familiar with me as
far as on site and thought I worked with the
American village and started asking me questions about phil trips.
Speaker 1 (01:13:55):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Go ahead, admit it.
This show is starting to grow on you.
Speaker 12 (01:14:14):
Is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:14:18):
Thank you for being with us today, America.
Speaker 7 (01:14:21):
And we.
Speaker 5 (01:14:23):
So a few things from the weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:14:25):
I do appreciate Gary making his way over to the
festival in Alabama over the weekend, and he was, of.
Speaker 8 (01:14:33):
Course a huge hit. Yeah, I bet out there a
huge hit.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
I bet you know.
Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
It wasn't far from his house.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
He said, Now, well he went over. Have you ever
been around Gary? When he goes over and looks at
the classic cars, he comes to life the little boy
he does.
Speaker 7 (01:14:45):
He's got one.
Speaker 3 (01:14:46):
Look at these little guys. They're set in the same
chair of that. Gary and I did looking at that
on text Nation, look at that text Nation y'all. Really,
y'all got a lot going on there today today on
textonation lots, I've seen so many things. But anyway, so
thank you for all that you know, we we have.
But but I'm just you know, Gary was there. He
stayed I think about two hours, and now he Gary
(01:15:12):
did he only stayed two hours and then had to leave.
Well you can't, I ain't. And Gary's like, hey, you hungry?
You want et something? And I said, yeah, like that
And I said, well what you really like? He goes,
I really liked one, you know on big old' corn dogs,
But I'm afraid you sit here and eat it front
of me. And I said that's probably a good call.
So we both settled on. They pulled port sandwich and.
Speaker 5 (01:15:33):
How long did you stay? Were you four hours? And
he only stayed two? Stay? That's all I could give?
Lower back.
Speaker 8 (01:15:41):
Bring a chair next time?
Speaker 5 (01:15:42):
Rick, Uh, you didn't have a chair behind that tent,
that table.
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
I foolishly thought the table would have chairs behind it,
and apparently it did not. Now, now you know, the
the person who was running the booth had a chair,
but there were no I thought they would just be
cheer is with it? You know you got but but
that is stard. That is incorrect. And now I'll tell
you one thing because I'm you know, I'm on the
(01:16:07):
festival tour. Now I'll be I'll be toting, I'll be
toting the chair. I'll be bringing my own chair.
Speaker 5 (01:16:14):
Okay, it comes birds with a chair.
Speaker 8 (01:16:17):
How bad you think my lower back was hurting at church?
Speaker 5 (01:16:18):
Or I hate to tell you, but I see a
lady with two chairs. It looks like she's just using
that chair to.
Speaker 3 (01:16:24):
Bones another booth over there. I can't go take a
chair of somebody else's booth. M She had people that
were rotating in and out. Water was a premium.
Speaker 7 (01:16:33):
You know, these events here, and really just when you're
when you're dressed and you're hosting something or or you know,
you're at some point you just go, I'm so hot,
I'm sweating and I'm just giving into it. You try
to wipe and hey, you know, but at some point
you just go, it is so hot. I'm just I'm
just gonna sweat. And here we go.
Speaker 5 (01:16:54):
You're getting the bounce house at all? Rick did not
you know I've learned from that. I've learned from right
to bounce out there there's.
Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
Somebody that had the Oxtord yellow jacket shirt on, you think.
And he got to tell Gary about watching No. Seventy
five play.
Speaker 5 (01:17:06):
Oh yeah, did he he did? You loved it?
Speaker 3 (01:17:10):
I said, go ahead, I don't want to get in this.
You called wingo, you know, he said, He said, I
was in seventh grade.
Speaker 1 (01:17:16):
He said.
Speaker 3 (01:17:17):
I just stood there, couldn't wait to see if I
could just touch as you went by. And uh and
I said, well, don't go that far with it. He goes, well,
you know I remember doing that as a kid. The
players come by and you hit him on the shoulder,
pat try to get chin strap or.
Speaker 8 (01:17:28):
Something and uh.
Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
And Gary was standing there going do what I said, Yes,
said Gary, look, I'll just leave it to you Sai
if you won't talk about seventy five.
Speaker 8 (01:17:37):
And so that was good.
Speaker 3 (01:17:39):
Saw some people there and I saw, let me tell
you guys something, a lot of great feedback on the show,
a lot of great feedback.
Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
It was good.
Speaker 7 (01:17:45):
Well, I found myself down around where Gary lives Friday
evening and went into a restaurant to get something to
eat and saw some of his family there, and so
we started taking pictures and sending it to him claiming
we were talking about Tony and how quick do you
think he called me so quick?
Speaker 5 (01:18:06):
So very quick?
Speaker 7 (01:18:08):
Hey, and his granddaughter was there, and you know that's
his skryptonite.
Speaker 8 (01:18:11):
Oh yeah, just like it is for all men. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:18:14):
Yeah, and Tommy Lenore teaches his granddaughter.
Speaker 5 (01:18:17):
Oh wow. And uh.
Speaker 7 (01:18:18):
And so we had a lot of fun with old Gary,
but he was looking forward to going to what he
calls the Dingleberry cheer and Festival.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
You know, Gary not overly warm, but he was hot,
but he would warm. And but he was he was
somewhat nice to people, good and you know he uh.
I will say too that one of the things that
kind of became a premium out there is the acts throwing,
and those of you that run the mobile acts throwing
(01:18:47):
things help some people give him a few pointers, I mean,
show him how to do it. I've noticed that when
people get up there and they've never done the act
throwing and they had zero instructions, some of the ways
they tried it'll like arch Manning throwing access. I mean
it was uh, you know, underhanded. You know, it's trying
to throw with just one arm over and that was like, hey,
(01:19:09):
somebody help them. I mean showman technique. Somebody run through
it one time, then let them throw because and also people,
you know, when your kids are done, wrap it up.
Uh huh okay, you know we all know this when
you've got little kids. You know, once you go to
an event, especially one that's got some uncomfortable temperatures, and
(01:19:31):
you know, I know, it's good on paper. You think
they're gonna run off some energy, but they get to
the end of their rope. Yeah, you know, and it's
okay to wrap it up. You you didn't maybe you
didn't get as much festival as you thought you'd get.
When they're done, it's okay, yeah you.
Speaker 7 (01:19:46):
Know, And yeah you do have to kind of go
in going we're here as long as as it you know,
it doesn't get out of hand, right, Yeah, but they
start acting up right, I mean you know what I'm talking. No,
I'm like, okay, that'll do it.
Speaker 5 (01:20:00):
It was good.
Speaker 3 (01:20:01):
I love a festival format.
Speaker 16 (01:20:02):
You know that.
Speaker 7 (01:20:03):
Yes, And so I was the ride down What did
you will you? Did you listen to music? Did you
go podcast?
Speaker 5 (01:20:09):
What did you do? You know?
Speaker 7 (01:20:10):
It was it was kind of an early It was
a pleasant morning I loved and that sun came.
Speaker 3 (01:20:14):
Out, got up, got Neil Raum fifteen hundred, reached over
and I thought to myself, you know what, it's been
a while, and I thought, what would be a good
driving song? Yeah, as I drive through the country roads
of Sweet Home, Alabama, pretty drive.
Speaker 5 (01:20:27):
You know what?
Speaker 8 (01:20:27):
I thought, when's the last time bird you heard? Live
from the Fox?
Speaker 5 (01:20:31):
Freebird? Ooh? And I found it? It's so long? Did
it take you?
Speaker 3 (01:20:35):
And the whole? You know what I hadn't You know
what I hadn't done a long time is I was
ready to I had one hand on the wheel, had
another one, you know, up on the arm rest. And
when Ronnie van Zant asked me what song it was
I wanted to hear? I screamed out, first time in
a long time. You know what he said back to me.
Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
I heard it them the.
Speaker 3 (01:20:55):
Window downs, Billy Powall, you need a quick a good
kick do? And I'm like, yeah, this feels good. It's
been a while, so I heard this.
Speaker 1 (01:21:04):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 21 (01:21:11):

Speaker 5 (01:22:06):
Let's go ahead.
Speaker 3 (01:22:07):
A lot of big stories over the weekend. Let's go
ahead and do it. Let's take on Philly's carrot.
Speaker 5 (01:22:13):
Oh boy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:14):
Okay, So I got a few comments on this that
some of you may not like, but I think if
you'll listen to me, I think I'm being reasonable on
this about the proper balance. But I know in the
times we're living in proper balance not all that popular anymore. Well,
I woke up on Saturday and as we're getting ready
(01:22:36):
to go to the big festival and all that. By
the way, SI, some of y'all at the festival that
asked me questions about the American Village because you thought
I worked there, because I was at the booth. I
don't know why I didn't just tell you that I'm
there as the ambassador and I'm with the show, and
(01:22:56):
I started trying to answer your questions. I don't know
what that is about us. He has a little bit
of this too, We both do. I don't know why.
We just want to come clean and sometimes and say, hey,
we're the wrong person to ask.
Speaker 7 (01:23:06):
We start trying to start answering questions like you knew
I did, and uh, their office is going to open
up today, Like sorry, what?
Speaker 14 (01:23:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:23:15):
I met a man there at the festival.
Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
Because I was like somebody said, hey, may can I
ask you something? Double him said, I'm a fan of
the show. Yes, how can I help you? You probably
have a deep question about the show, maybe the guys
on the show. Maybe you'd like to ask me something. Sure,
go right ahead. Are y'all gonna do anything Christmas at
America I mean American Village for Christmas? Oh gosh, they
think I work for American Village. Yes, yes, we will,
Yes we will. Uh so so what exactly y'all going
(01:23:39):
to do? It's going to be at the festival and festive,
and then I say, and then I would say, I
would say, go to American Village dot orgon I don't
even know if it was supposed to be dot com
dot org and get all the information.
Speaker 8 (01:23:52):
About what we'll be doing at Christmas.
Speaker 7 (01:23:55):
And you did it with a straight face, like you
knew you'll do that one time.
Speaker 5 (01:23:59):
He improvate.
Speaker 3 (01:24:00):
Lot. Oh, can I ask you some when will Independence
Hall open? The new one that's open right now?
Speaker 5 (01:24:07):
Somebody's gonna show up.
Speaker 3 (01:24:09):
And they said, I thought there was some kind of
ground up in this week, Greg, there is, but it's
already open. To tell me a little bit about it. Impressive,
it's a very impressive. If you haven't been there, it's impressive.
Speaker 5 (01:24:22):
It actually is American Village dot org.
Speaker 7 (01:24:24):
No, that's good. Well i'd be able to say that.
He's said it enough.
Speaker 8 (01:24:27):
How's Christmas looking?
Speaker 3 (01:24:30):
Why not just point and go?
Speaker 22 (01:24:31):
You know what?
Speaker 7 (01:24:31):
You see that lady there, miss Melanie, she's so sweet.
Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
She talk to her.
Speaker 3 (01:24:35):
She'd run off to get something. And I was there
at the boot by myself and it's just me and Gary.
Oh Gary duck.
Speaker 8 (01:24:40):
No, No, he didn't know. So anyway, let's go back
to Philly's carts. Okay, check that.
Speaker 7 (01:24:44):
You woke up Saturday morning, fired up about the fired.
Speaker 3 (01:24:47):
Up, and then you check social media, go on social media,
and I'm like, let me check our stuff. I was
getting ready to put Strange Encounters out by the way,
episode thirteen, Come on is out. I was gonna put
that out on my social media, and I receive, of course,
my sign. We must destroy Philly's Karen. And I don't
know who she is. I don't have any idea, but
I'm are being told by the social media. Here she is,
(01:25:08):
let's go get her, Let's go get it. So I
didn't know who this person was. I didn't know what
was going on. But here's the video of the incident
that happened at the Marlins Phillies game.
Speaker 5 (01:25:21):
There's the there's the tussle right there. So there, here's
the entire there's the foul ma.
Speaker 7 (01:25:25):
She's hit to left field. There's not a lot of
people there because it's.
Speaker 8 (01:25:29):
A home run.
Speaker 7 (01:25:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:25:31):
So there she's reaching for it and this guy grabs
it from him. He comes over from his seat pretty
good distance, not a crazy distance, brings it back to
his son that we'll all find out later. She comes over,
I think his reaction to her, He looked a little
I thought his over he hacded like.
Speaker 5 (01:25:45):
She's trying to be funny. I hope. So I think
he was trying to be fun I.
Speaker 3 (01:25:48):
Hope he was being funny, not that afraid of a woman.
But she's she's giving the this. He gives her the
ball back, says just forget it, and she walks off
off with her home run.
Speaker 5 (01:26:01):
Ball is a Philies Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:26:04):
And then my favorite Babylon b Phillies fan shocks the
nation by acting like a Phillies fan, yeah, which is hilarious.
Speaker 7 (01:26:11):
And I think, because I know where you, I think
we can break this up into different categories. First of all,
just a home run ball. I'm so tired of people
thinking that's my ball. No, it's anybody's ball until it's gotten.
Just because everybody puts their hand down and we're all
going for it, that doesn't mean you did get to
declare that was mine. Now really, and so every everybody
(01:26:36):
was going down, she went down, he went down to
get it. There's actually another fan that comes over, he's
a little late, and he comes up to the ball,
goes to give it with his son. I think that's
one category. And this is in the first time we've
had this discussion a lot. Well, now that was their ball,
they got there first, or whatever. You should be ripping
it out of kids hands. But if it's adults going
after it, I mean, you know, and he was getting
(01:26:58):
it for his kid, I don't think there's any anybody
at fault on that front. But that's a separate I mean,
that's just one part of this whole narrative. Rick not
going after her personally, but just the whole thing of no,
that's my ball. Well, no it's not, you know, And
that's why that's when part somebody said it was a
grand slam. Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:27:16):
I just it's really the rule is you hold it up.
It's yours, right, you're not gonna We're not gonna have
somebody holding it up in the air and you snatch
it out of their hand. But it's really the first person.
From everything that I can see, I'm looking for multiple
angles of this that dad was the first person to
really have possession of the ball.
Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
So anyway, well, yeah, I think there's, like you said,
there's different categories, and we're gonna try that. I hope
everybody can track split it up here. I hope I
can track with it here because I am going to
say something that I think some of you are not
gonna like. But that's all right. I'm still gonna try
to always stand on what I think the truth is,
whether it's popular or not. If you can't do that,
(01:27:57):
you can have a real hard time, you know, being
a person of faith, because it's offensive to everybody.
Speaker 8 (01:28:02):
But that's much more important than this.
Speaker 3 (01:28:04):
But I do want to talk about something that I
don't like about audios and beyond her behavior, yes, okay,
her behavior is I don't like it, no doubt about that. Okay,
so we're fine. I don't think she acted well. But
here's the good news for the kid. I thought the
dad also, I hope he's kidding around with that little reactions,
and when she comes over, I hope he's making fun
(01:28:24):
of her.
Speaker 5 (01:28:24):
Not that scared. I thought he was making fun of her.
And people were like saying that the guy was like
truly afraid of the lady and kind of ripping on
the dad. I think he was messing with her, going, oh,
putting his dukes up order.
Speaker 8 (01:28:35):
I kind of thought so too.
Speaker 5 (01:28:36):
I agree with you.
Speaker 8 (01:28:38):
I don't think he should get any flak.
Speaker 3 (01:28:40):
But so the the Marlins, from what I can gather
because it was at the Marlin Stadium, they brought the kid.
Speaker 8 (01:28:48):
All kinds of stuff.
Speaker 7 (01:28:49):
Yeah, they did.
Speaker 8 (01:28:50):
I found out it was his birthday coming up.
Speaker 3 (01:28:52):
I hear the girl ask, I heard, it's your birthday,
and he says, well, not today, but in the next
few days. So they give him a whole He got
all kinds of stuff from from the Marlins.
Speaker 5 (01:29:02):
Yes.
Speaker 13 (01:29:03):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:29:03):
And then I understand there's even been Philly players.
Speaker 7 (01:29:06):
Yeah, there's also a picture of I think he met
with them afterwards or something.
Speaker 5 (01:29:10):
Signed bat and everything.
Speaker 3 (01:29:11):
Yeah, so he the kid came out of this like
a birthday KINGK.
Speaker 5 (01:29:16):
Did you hear that? The the dad got an r
V as well? Did y'all hear that?
Speaker 3 (01:29:19):
What?
Speaker 5 (01:29:20):
Yes, I'm serious. He didn't get an r V, Yes,
yes he did. The Phillies dad got an r V
from like the owner of somebody. I'll find it in
the world.
Speaker 14 (01:29:34):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:29:35):
They got an invitation to the World Series and a
new r V from Marcus Lamanis, who owns Camping World.
So it's the Camping World guy. He saw all this
here is uh here he is getting that signed back too,
by the way, so hey, dad worked out for the
dad got himself an r V and the kid got
a signed bat.
Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
Yeah, the kid actually got a better experience than he
would have gotten if the woman had just left it Alonge,
that's that's remember that. Yeah, Because what I'm gonna say
when I come back here, some of you aren't gonna like,
but I think we've got to start speaking to another
part of this. And if we don't, when it ends
up being you and we've experienced this a little bit,
(01:30:16):
you're gonna feel differently.
Speaker 8 (01:30:17):
Yeah, some of what we're doing we shouldn't be doing reckless.
Speaker 5 (01:30:21):
And we'll talk about that when we come back. Now,
let me be clear. I know some of you out there.
Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
Everything's emotion to you and you can't you can't reason anymore.
We have been very clear that the way the woman
acted about it, she shouldn't have done, and she cast
herself in a bad life here and the kid was
taken care of and all that's been resolved. But there
was another part that I didn't like. The way I
felt over the weekend. We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (01:30:49):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, doing what he was
born to do. The Rick Purchase show.
Speaker 3 (01:31:09):
Thank you America for being with us today. Hey, are
you out there in the world, and you know, you
never know, especially with the things that are happening with
making America healthy again, we're having some very I think
healthy conversations about shots and you know, vaccines and the
pharmaceuticals and how we Some of you may be thinking,
(01:31:31):
I think I want to minimize the pharmaceuticals that I'm
dealing with, and I certainly want to lose some weight.
But I don't know about this shot thing. I don't
think it's for me. You know, to each his own.
But if you are looking for a natural approach, titlean
dot com is a great, great solution. You know this
weight cycling. Look, I've done it. I've struggled with my
(01:31:53):
weight most of my life. Okay, I know about Hey,
I did the latest fad. I lost some way to
put it back on. Oh, this time put more weight
back on, then a last weight, then I.
Speaker 8 (01:32:01):
Put it back on.
Speaker 3 (01:32:02):
That is so bad for our health. It's so bad
for our bodies. And if you're wanting, I got to
stop this cycle. But I don't know that I want
to go to the pharmaceutical right Tate route, tateline dot
com may be exactly what you're looking for. All natural
helps you suppress your appetite, gives you clean energy, keeps
you at a healthy blood sugar naturally. So if you'd
(01:32:25):
like to find out more, go to tateline dot com.
We'll get you started with twenty percent off using our
code big Vox. There's also a link at Rick burgesshow
dot com. So Philly's Karen now again hear me, Everybody's
settle bad behavior from the woman kids. Fine, I don't
(01:32:47):
think I think it's unfair to judge the dad. I
thought the dad haund it well, and I think he
was actually being a smart eleic, not really afraid of her, okay,
but he didn't want to escalate it.
Speaker 8 (01:32:56):
So all that's over here.
Speaker 3 (01:32:58):
There's a trend out there that's really bothering me because
we kind of know what this feels like, not to
this level, and it's dangerous. We got to be real
careful with our social media power that we think we're
now the mob with the burning torches, and we wake
up every day waiting to be instructed on whose life
(01:33:20):
we will now destroy.
Speaker 5 (01:33:22):
And I don't like it. I been in some of it.
Speaker 3 (01:33:26):
When misinformation gets out there, and what happens is people escalate,
you know, and you get things like things we've been
through this year, like death threats and people want to
harm you. And because there's a lot of crazy people
out there, and when you take your social media and
you work people into a frenzy, it's dangerous. Okay, you
may think it's all in good fun. Let's destroy Philly's
(01:33:48):
care in today because she was mean to a kid
about a home run ball. And before you, I mean,
I had my assignment. I was told I didn't know
who this one was, and I saw things like that,
Let's go get her rooin in her life. Let's make
her pay for this. That's dangerous, dangerous, dangerous, reckless. Now,
I don't know if this is true or not. We
(01:34:10):
tried to research it on the show today, and all
that's saying is it's being reported that she has been
fired from her job as a New Jersey school administrator.
Now that's the latest this has been reported. Now, whether
that's true or not, we'll need the New Jersey school
board to confirm that. But they're saying it's true. And
(01:34:32):
the reason why is that kids saw all the social
media post and they begin to go on Facebook and
on social media. They said Facebook, but I don't think
kids go on Facebook. Maybe as their parents, but anyway,
they went on social media saying this woman was wicked
and evil and they didn't want her to be part
of their school anymore. Okay, And basically the school administration,
(01:34:54):
the school administration said, hey, we don't need somebody to
hear that the kids and the parents are all mad at.
I don't know that we need to live in a
world to where somebody catches you in a bad moment.
They can go on to social media and say let's
destroy Rick today and everybody goes. I don't even have
the details of this, but I'm in, and before you
(01:35:16):
know it, you know, you have your life being torn
apart in the public arena. And sometimes people don't even
know what happened. Should she have behaved the way she did,
probably not. Should her life be destroyed over it? I
think that I don't think the punishment fits the crime.
Speaker 5 (01:35:37):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:35:37):
I don't know whether she really has been let go,
maybe not, but I'll tell you this, her life has
been turned upside down, whether she got fired or.
Speaker 5 (01:35:43):
Not, that absolutely is true. It does look like that
the school system has come forward with a statement. Is
trying to shut down the rumor that her name has
been made public, so they do have the right name.
She was not fired. She does not even work for
Theton Public School located in Hammonton, New Jersey. So social
(01:36:05):
media reports that she is. That's not correct. So I
saw that everywhere too, and there's tons of articles having
to get rid of that rumor.
Speaker 3 (01:36:13):
Yeah, well so now people don't even know then where
she works. But now she's been made a public figure
who is a private citizen over I was mean to
a little boy at a baseball game, and now I
am the vile of the earth. Now we have a
guy who's been arrested fourteen times, seventeen times that just
(01:36:33):
rises up and stabs an innocent woman in the neck
and slaughters her on a train in Charlotte. Now we
can't get anybody. Now, we can't seem to get any
information on that and this person. You know how we're
picking and choosing the things that we want to stand
up against. But the bottom line is social media is
(01:36:54):
very dangerous and it is destroying people's lives. We have
suicide rates that are through the roof right now because
people do things like this to teenagers over some at
school and this is this is this is an angry
mob mentality that I think is extremely dangerous. Look, I
(01:37:16):
don't like the way the woman acted with the kid,
but her life should not be destroyed over that. And
before you know what, the dad who is supposed to
be in this someone. Now everybody in the world is,
you know, debating whether he's emasculated or not because the
way he responded, and.
Speaker 5 (01:37:32):
We're all going to weigh in on that.
Speaker 3 (01:37:35):
These are real people who have private lives that went
to a ball game and you happen to catch them
on your phone and now you're taking them out into
the public arena where mental health is at an all
time high, and you're destroying their lives and it's ugly
to me. I didn't I didn't take the assignment. I
(01:37:56):
didn't retweet any of it taken. I didn't like being
a that I was supposed to destroy people's lives Saturday.
It was over something that happened at a baseball game.
Speaker 5 (01:38:06):
It was very odd seeing people saying, Okay, Twitter, you
know what to do. Let's find this lady and make
her famous and all this stuff, and you're just like, yeah,
it was bad behavior, But don't take time out of
your life to try to ruin another person's that. This
doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (01:38:18):
Yeah, that's exactly what this sigment was at. Let's let's
let's take the social media and and listen, and let's
let's get let's make this woman pay for being means
a little boy over at home run ball. I mean,
people are not even involved. I mean, and not just
it's dangerous. Look, look we've been through it. I mean
I've had situations even before this last one, where people
(01:38:39):
had misinformation on me about the truck that oh yeah,
yeah yeah, and once I once I tried to go
out and say, by the way, that information is not right. Oh,
I'm sorry I did. I didn't mean to drag your
name through the mud without information.
Speaker 8 (01:38:53):
Sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
Well thanks that That'll take me forever over the people
that just saw your post, right, you know, because people,
just like the press, people are always willing to go
after you. But then when you try to tell them
they need to straighten out their false information about you,
they're not near as passionate about that, right. They don't
like to go back and clarify. They just stop. Well, no,
(01:39:14):
it would help I you to go back and clarify
what you said was wrong. This is dangerous, dangerous stuff.
The video to your point, Rick, the video speaks for itself.
You can obviously see who's like you don't like that,
that's fine, and just let it sit there. But now,
and you're I mean, you're this is a fresh word.
Speaker 7 (01:39:31):
You're really talking about something that has gotten out of
hand on social media where we pick and choose who
we're going after to destroy their lives.
Speaker 5 (01:39:39):
No, you know they might have had an acted right,
but that don't mean their lives.
Speaker 1 (01:39:42):
Should be destroyed.
Speaker 11 (01:39:42):
Now.
Speaker 5 (01:39:43):
You do have a right to privacy.
Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
When people throw you out on social media and say
let's destroy you today, I don't care where you went. No,
we do have a right not to be treated that way.
Speaker 5 (01:39:52):
I disagree with you.
Speaker 1 (01:39:54):
Teas is the Rick Burgess Show, God fearing and America loving.
Speaker 3 (01:40:13):
Rick, We're back, thank you for being with us. A
brand new day and a brand new week. So as
as I predicted, you know, some of the people Special
Text Nation not agreeing with that, and that's fine. You
have a right to your to your own opinion. I
(01:40:34):
just hope it doesn't ever happen to you. You know,
and I hope, I hope you you have a bad
never have a bad moment in life or words. People
start something that's not even true about you, and that
starts and before you do. I just hope it doesn't
happen to you. Some people say, and so so you
didn't have this kind of energy when the thing happened
to Coplay concert. See that this is the problem with
(01:40:56):
our society. Surely you can discern the difference in a
CEO of a company with the HR person at a
Coplay concert getting caught on the big screen. Do I
think it was horrible that his his family had to
go through what they went through publicly?
Speaker 8 (01:41:14):
I do, But I do think there's quite a difference.
Speaker 3 (01:41:18):
In somebody in that situation, who's got the HR person
out on the date, who's married with kids, who you
know is the CEO of a company, and a woman
who went over and took a asked for a ball
back at a at a baseball game. Someone also said,
what you do in front of fifty thousand people that's public,
Well you must not know about the morrow and they
(01:41:39):
ain't never had fifty thousand people again, but anyway.
Speaker 5 (01:41:42):
It was pretty empty.
Speaker 3 (01:41:43):
You might have done that.
Speaker 7 (01:41:44):
The guy was able to run down his ayle to
get the ball with no problem. He didn't have to
say excuse me, you might you might have done that
in front of five thousand people, but but you know,
it's like, we don't have this. And then this person say, well,
don't don't act like a whatever at a ballgame.
Speaker 8 (01:41:59):
You're wrong on this, Ricky.
Speaker 3 (01:42:01):
Okay, I just disagree with you. I don't think the
punishment fits the crime.
Speaker 5 (01:42:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
I hope it doesn't never happen to you, because if
it does, you would. We got to be careful. This
social media stuff is reckless. Like Speedy said, somebody want
to be at the game, somebody want to put the
woman say wow, I think this woman look at her
over here, and the dad just gives the ball up
and then leaves it.
Speaker 8 (01:42:25):
But that's not what happened.
Speaker 5 (01:42:26):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
What happens is now we send out the assignment. Let's
destroy this person today. Hey, mob, let's get our torches,
and let's not just sit there and go, wow, that's
not very good behavior. She shouldn't act like that. She
must be destroyed. Let's make her. Let's take her to
the whole world. And if y'all think that's not dangerous.
That's fine, that's your own opinion, But of course there's
(01:42:49):
a lot of people that agree. But probably I just
hope it doesn't happen to you, or to your children,
or to someone that two things either just had a
bad moment, but it doesn't really speak to their overall
character or worse, people are saying things about them that's
not even true. And well, I think I think we
(01:43:10):
will and those things do happen, and they happen because
we have this bloods and blood and guts mentality and
we were we've gotten in this world. It's not real anymore,
and we don't understand the things that that are that
are happening to people over something as silly as social media,
(01:43:31):
which was supposed to be something that would help us
with information, supposed to be fun, and now is it
is wielded as a weapon, not just against people we
have some ast to grind with, against people we don't
even know. And if you think that's okay, that's that's
your your We'll just have to agree to disagree on
(01:43:51):
that one.
Speaker 8 (01:43:51):
But but that's all right. We don't have to agree
on everything. But but I'm just telling you.
Speaker 5 (01:43:56):
This isn't going to help.
Speaker 2 (01:43:57):
Rick.
Speaker 5 (01:43:58):
This isn't gonna help. There is a another fan in
the area. She gets up and gets in it, another
person's face, and then she flicks off everybody all around her.
Speaker 7 (01:44:07):
Yeah, did you see you're talking about the gentleman that
was sitting down and she went over there, and yeh,
she got her finger in his face and she was
giving him the business, and I did not like it.
Speaker 5 (01:44:17):
I did find another angle of the scramble, and I
cannot see any footage of her with her hand on
the ball, So that, to me is the big issue.
Did she ever have the ball in her hand and
the dad ripped it out of it? Because then I
would be mad too. But I cannot find a single
single frame. But does that mean we need to wreck
(01:44:39):
the lady?
Speaker 3 (01:44:42):
And I'll try to make that clear. We have to
split the top. I never said the woman's behavior was
something to be applauded absolutely or something to that it's
okay or was appropriate, and didn't say that.
Speaker 8 (01:44:54):
Some of y'all can't seem to separate the two things.
Speaker 5 (01:44:56):
Yeah, we got to.
Speaker 3 (01:44:57):
Yeah, but I'm maybe can y'all just join me on?
Can we be a little more responsible with social media
on destroying people's lives.
Speaker 8 (01:45:06):
Can can y'all?
Speaker 3 (01:45:07):
Can y'all, especially if we shoot ready aim, just let
it go out there. I didn't like thee that I was.
I was told as I woke up on Saturday, Rick,
we need you to help us destroy a person who
you've never met.
Speaker 5 (01:45:20):
Okay, I'm in.
Speaker 3 (01:45:22):
I mean, it's let me let me see if I
can't send that out to the social media platform. I
got and say something mean about her and and hopefully
we'll destroy our life today because that kid only ended
up with an autographed bat from the Phillies and all
kinds of free stuff, and the dad got an r V.
Speaker 8 (01:45:38):
We must stop this woman, I mean today.
Speaker 5 (01:45:40):
Now, I did think it was over the line. I
did think it was over the line when they were
handing the boy the sign bat and the lady ran
up and said, hey, that's my back too. I thought
that was not appropriate. Right, Yeah? Did you see the
because her outfit, unfortunately is for her look is very wreckednizable,
(01:46:01):
And people are saying that Spirit Halloween has a Phillies
fan costume ready to roll with the black and white?
Speaker 3 (01:46:08):
Ready, because we have.
Speaker 11 (01:46:09):
To do that.
Speaker 3 (01:46:10):
We got to be sure that she can never show
her face again.
Speaker 5 (01:46:12):
I think that's not really from spirit. But it's funny
about this.
Speaker 3 (01:46:16):
Also, they said to really punished the woman she got
a bat, but it was autographed from the Chicago White Sox,
White Sox.
Speaker 5 (01:46:29):
It's so funny. People are like assembling footage and here's
the slow mo fro from an angle I just found in. Look,
she has her phone in one hand and the dad
has the ball, and that's that's it. That fair is
fair all, it's all fair. And in the scramble for
the ball until somebody's got their hands.
Speaker 7 (01:46:45):
On, you know, going after a loose ball or whatever.
That has been the debate for a long time. This
is in the first it is. It is free game
until it's.
Speaker 5 (01:46:53):
Gotten, you know, if it's balancing somebody.
Speaker 7 (01:46:57):
And if you're a grown adult and there's a child there,
obviously you know, hey.
Speaker 5 (01:47:01):
The kid gets it.
Speaker 7 (01:47:02):
And if some of lesson you're in this situation, you're
getting it for your own kid. But the video speaks
for itself. I think we can discuss the who has it,
how she acted, and the video. That's one discussion. But
then attacking her and saying she should be ruined, that's another. Discussion,
and that's really where we're landing is it's social media.
(01:47:23):
It's kind of scary.
Speaker 3 (01:47:24):
We just can we could we at least can I
can at least try this? And I agree with you
texture some of you're saying even the coplay thing felt
a little. It did, And even after I watched where
it went, I thought, I mean, we all kind of
went for blood on that one too, didn't it.
Speaker 8 (01:47:38):
It's just it's just a bad, bad trend.
Speaker 5 (01:47:41):
It really is.
Speaker 3 (01:47:42):
But could we do this? And let's try this? And
I think we all could agree. Can we be as
mad at the cold blooded murderer on on the public
transportation in Charlotte who just killed somebody in cold blood?
Can we can we be as upset with them and
whoever it was that murdered the woman who was just
(01:48:05):
out for a walk in Auburn with her dog? Can
we can we be as mad at them as we
are at the at the Phillies female?
Speaker 8 (01:48:12):
Can we be just as mad?
Speaker 5 (01:48:13):
Can we?
Speaker 8 (01:48:14):
Can we have the same passion to bring.
Speaker 3 (01:48:17):
Justice to these people that were killed in cold blood
as we wanted to bring justice to the dad and
his boy over the baseball Can we at least can
we just look, how about this. Let's all destroy her
if y'all want to, but let's also be upset about
these two cold blood murders. Could we do that just
the same passion that that would be great?
Speaker 5 (01:48:36):
Yeah? Well, and you're not going to get and some
of the other.
Speaker 3 (01:48:39):
Things in our country and our society that we need
to address. But thank goodness, we stop the mean woman
at at the Marlins Phillies game. Who even wants to
be at a Marlins game?
Speaker 5 (01:48:50):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:48:51):
So, but thank goodness. I mean, we're gonna bring her
to justice, but can we at least bring everybody else
to justice too? Can I try that one?
Speaker 5 (01:49:00):
You're not gonna get AP News or New York Times
to care about either of those cases, Rick, At this
time there there is there is zero about either of
those cases on AP news or the New York Times.
Speaker 8 (01:49:12):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (01:49:12):
That's crazy, all right, So we'll be back.
Speaker 3 (01:49:17):
So there you go.
Speaker 5 (01:49:19):
Enjoy that one.
Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
And if y'all didn't like what I said, get on
social media and destroy my life today, chick have fun.
We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (01:49:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The most Dangerous ten
minutes in radio unscreened phone calls get in no by
dialing one eight eight eight six, Big Fox.
Speaker 5 (01:49:50):
All right, here we go. We open it up to you, America,
roaring in.
Speaker 3 (01:49:57):
All ten lines are available. It's time for you to
have your moment. And as ken Osborne just told you,
the most dangerous ten minutes in radio, because it's direct
direct from you to us, we screen them on the fly.
I learned speedy here as well. Now we are protecting
(01:50:18):
the audience. Some of you have behaved poorly with this responsibility,
and we're standing by to call you if we need to.
It would be great if you would call yourself, but
if you can't, we'll try to help with that. And
we hope that you're bringing something to the table.
Speaker 7 (01:50:38):
So here we go.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show. Unscreen phone calls your own.
Speaker 4 (01:50:44):
Hey, rid, Hey, good morning fellas.
Speaker 1 (01:50:45):
How y'all doing.
Speaker 10 (01:50:46):
We're good? Hope you're okay, man, I've been blessed, been blessed. Hey,
it's just funny how my pastor yesterday morning preached one
accountability and y'all come up with this thing this morning
by the baseball Yeah yeah, we're all gonna be held
accountable on this world, yep, and after this world.
Speaker 11 (01:51:05):
Yes, serious.
Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
Yeah. And you know another thing though that you don't
want to miss on that you know, when we're cowering
before the throne of God, knowing that we deserve to
be destroyed by His holiness and thrown into eternal fire,
it'll be sweet for the redeemed to know that they
were giving grace and mercy and really weren't held accountable
for what they deserve. That that meant, that's that's the gospel.
Speaker 14 (01:51:30):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (01:51:31):
We continue.
Speaker 10 (01:51:32):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:51:32):
And Jesus said, do not deny the mercy and grace
to others that I didn't deny to you. But that's
a pretty big statement from Jesus. Uh we continue. Welcome
to the Rick Burgers Show. On unscreen phone calls go aheaven.
Speaker 18 (01:51:48):
I got a lot to say, so I'm going to
try to hurry. Okay, all right, First of all, Rick,
your own point with social media trying to destroy lives.
But also before I forget, let me go ahead and say, Adler,
your hair.
Speaker 16 (01:52:02):
Is on point.
Speaker 3 (01:52:06):
Thank you, ma'am.
Speaker 5 (01:52:06):
I watched it. Good hair day, bud.
Speaker 18 (01:52:08):
Okay, if I was a cougar, I'm sorry.
Speaker 11 (01:52:11):
I'm not gonna go there.
Speaker 18 (01:52:11):
Yeah. Another another sorry, I'm sorry. Another thing destroying the
Philly woman's life is taken to social media. I think
people who are what we call wrong, everybody tries to
make up for it and goes out of their way.
(01:52:32):
So now he's gotta r V. I mean, we are
we sending the message that, oh gosh, you've said so
now everybody owes owes me. I've been wronged. Now now
you owe me.
Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
I've got to make up for it.
Speaker 3 (01:52:44):
No, you're right. You know, if you know, if Greg
was here and Greg, Greg's with his grand baby, so
he's having a great day with his granddaughter. But if
he were here, I think you know what he'd be
saying right now, this is a setup by the dad,
by the dad and the sun to get all this
free stuff. Would say every he would say, he would say,
everybody's in on it. Yeah no, but you're right. Then
we fall, We fall all over ourselves in the other direction.
Speaker 5 (01:53:07):
You know, you're right.
Speaker 7 (01:53:07):
Yeah, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (01:53:10):
But you know if Greg, if Greg was here, would
he not be calling Yeah, I'm telling you watch we
Uh we continue, Uh, welcome to the Rick Birders show.
Speaker 8 (01:53:21):
You're on unscreen phone calls Go ahead.
Speaker 16 (01:53:25):
What's the man?
Speaker 9 (01:53:26):
Just want to hope hope you guys are having a
great weekend and hope you have a great week And uh,
I know y'all mentioned about South Florida early this morning.
As a kid that played at our local high school.
He was, he's a state champion. He's a captain on
that defense. And they got Miami this week. So if
they get Miami, that's three ranked teams in a row.
And I'm just proud of the way those guys are
fighting right now, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (01:53:46):
No doubt about that. Yeah, it should be proud.
Speaker 10 (01:53:49):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (01:53:49):
We continue Rick Birders Show onscreen phone calls.
Speaker 18 (01:53:52):
Go ahead, all right, you hung up on man, I
wasn't done.
Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
Oh I'm sorry, baby jee.
Speaker 18 (01:54:00):
So you know Black Verry Smoke it's going to be
in Birmingham next Friday. I've got tickets.
Speaker 23 (01:54:05):
Can't y'all get them in the studio?
Speaker 5 (01:54:08):
Oh yeah, you got that show's come to town.
Speaker 3 (01:54:11):
Yeah, you know we did that back in the Rick
and Bubba days. They played one time in the studio
and I loved it.
Speaker 5 (01:54:16):
Yeah that was so.
Speaker 3 (01:54:17):
I don't know if we still have that contact or what,
but yeah, that's a great idea.
Speaker 14 (01:54:21):
Uh.
Speaker 8 (01:54:21):
We continue Rick Birderr Show unscreen phone calls go.
Speaker 23 (01:54:23):
Ahead, Yes, I just want to let you guys know,
if y'all watch that video, Uh, the boys big sister
actually grabs the ball out right before the dad hens
the lady another balls that she put in there.
Speaker 5 (01:54:43):
Did they see the old switcher? I saw people saying
they did the old switcher roo, but I did they.
I haven't seen it. I just saw people say that
they did it. But it's here. I am trying to
watch it over and over again. So dad has the
ball in his hand right right, so then it gets
handed to the kid. Now, from what I understand, the
(01:55:03):
kid just keeps it in his glove the whole time.
Speaker 7 (01:55:05):
I don't know that is his right hands on it
in his glove, and.
Speaker 5 (01:55:12):
He's yelling if unless the switcheroo happened right.
Speaker 8 (01:55:15):
Then, because I see no evidence of that.
Speaker 5 (01:55:18):
Unless it happened then, But where where do we get this?
Speaker 8 (01:55:22):
This this narrative from based on what video?
Speaker 5 (01:55:25):
I have seen a video where a kid does pull
that off and he gives it to this like much
old like a little A young boy catches a ball
at a game and then he pulls a switch room
and gives it to like an older girl behind him
and the girl's like, oh, thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (01:55:38):
And people have been sharing that a lot, by the way,
that people don't know what to do. Now it's coming
out that the dad was once mean to puppies. What
now no one knows who did dislike right, So I
don't know it's gonna be sad OURV is gonna be
taken back. Now we continue Rick Birder's show. Go ahead.
Speaker 8 (01:55:58):
Unscreen phone calls, Hey.
Speaker 9 (01:56:00):
Good morning, guys.
Speaker 20 (01:56:01):
Up, everything's going good on this Monday.
Speaker 23 (01:56:03):
I just wanted to tell you.
Speaker 20 (01:56:03):
I'm from the Hustle area and there's a radio of
Lady Radio DJ here. It's got the classic radio voice,
and she calls you, Rick Burgs, don't forget to watch.
Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
And we have told the folks there about this. I
don't know why that can't be fixed. Uh, but yeah,
we we we've gotten that several times. We've passed that along.
I guess we can pass that along again. Uh but
uh yeah, yeah, we we. I haven't heard it, but
I've heard about that. But uh but that's uh, that's
(01:56:37):
the days of radio today. It's a it's a whole
it's a whole new world. Uh. We continue Rick Burgess
Show unscreen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 22 (01:56:47):
We Speedy was talking about some apparatus that Terry had
bought him to clean out the dryer. Yes, well, I'm
here to tell you you got to be careful when
tuning in in the middle of a segment, because that
was a very provocative sounding conversation.
Speaker 5 (01:57:02):
Oh yeah, right, careful.
Speaker 20 (01:57:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
From time to time you'll hear us say when that's happening.
If you just joined us, and we try to go
back and explain, but understood. Hello Rick Burger's show on
screen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (01:57:19):
Good morning.
Speaker 10 (01:57:20):
How you guys doing.
Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
We're good, We're good.
Speaker 11 (01:57:22):
Hey.
Speaker 4 (01:57:23):
Did you see the opening to the Sunday Night football
the Raven Spiels game where the Peyton Manning and his son,
I didn't know. If you get a chance, if you
get a chance, pull that up. It's really funny to
how are you gonna call? It's a good, clean comedy.
But basically he's Peyton Manning sitting on a couch with
his son Marshall, who is the eighth grader football player
here in Chattanooga. By the way, he goes to the
(01:57:44):
Baylor School here in Chattanooga. But anyway, I need to
hear there. Uh, And he's showing the Colts and Giants
game from twenty years ago, the first opening night of
Sunday Night Football, which is him against Eli, his brother.
So his son caused facetimes to his uncle. Uncle e.
He's showing the game again, you know. But it's just funny.
I have can watch it.
Speaker 16 (01:58:05):
Pull that thing up.
Speaker 23 (01:58:06):
It's something really good to say.
Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
It's funny.
Speaker 3 (01:58:08):
Okay, No, I didn't see that. The Peyton the Mannings
to me are very funny.
Speaker 2 (01:58:13):
Yes they are.
Speaker 3 (01:58:14):
They're funny guys, y'all.
Speaker 5 (01:58:15):
Look at this. They have them sitting on the couch
and they have them labeled as Marshall Manning, Peyton's son,
and then Peyton Manning retired a while ago. The labeled
on screen he's holding cord.
Speaker 8 (01:58:29):
That is funny.
Speaker 3 (01:58:31):
By the way, this is just then. The woman who
took the kids baseball likes George Drake. Oh oh, we
continue Rick Burgess show on screen. Phone calls go.
Speaker 4 (01:58:39):
Ahead, doctor Burgess.
Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
Okay, okay, thank you for the call. So yeah, I
don't think we can play that without getting the archive
in trouble. Don't you think we can watch it privately?
But if we played it, I bet the archive has
no chance.
Speaker 7 (01:58:55):
Okay, this makes sense because someone sent out a picture
of Peyton Manning at a high school game in like Brentwood,
Tennessee or something like that, and it showed everybody's here
to watch this five star. We know what it is
is his son was on the roster of the high
school game that was being played, and Payton was just
there watching it. Oh okay, but so this makes sense
now that he.
Speaker 5 (01:59:16):
Plays for Baylor High School.
Speaker 7 (01:59:18):
Okay, it's just very confusing.
Speaker 3 (01:59:20):
Did not know that?
Speaker 5 (01:59:20):
Yeah, that is confusing.
Speaker 3 (01:59:23):
Top of the eye. Where if this is all you
got for us today? Hey, thanks, don't forget to check
the archive today, either on our YouTube channel or our
podcast channel. That way you pick up any part that
you missed. As we continue another edition of the Rick
Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:59:38):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (02:00:00):
As we got a fine.
Speaker 1 (02:00:08):
Broadcasting from the New World, The Rich Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (02:00:15):
All right, America, it's a brand new hour. We are
so thankful that you were here today. We've already had
a blast. Catch any part of the show that you
might have missed on our daily archive. Greg is out
a little bit longer. He should return this hour. He
went to have breakfast with his little granddaughter. It was
breakfast with Grandparents' day or her school.
Speaker 5 (02:00:37):
So Greg is there. So there you go.
Speaker 3 (02:00:45):
As we start another hour, we have covered a lot
and someone on text Nation asking a question, so you
know that. I mean, I'm getting a little bit in
this weather today in alabama's not helping. I'm trying to
get a little antsy about something that's going on. I
know that I have been accused. I've been accused, and
I want to say accused of being a little O
(02:01:07):
C D. No, uh, I don't think there's any waity
to substantiate that claim. Heresay, I just like things to
be a certain way. Okay, that's that's all.
Speaker 5 (02:01:19):
It's only alleged.
Speaker 3 (02:01:20):
So the farm, love the kids, love them, love them kids.
They're all adults now, and they all have different things
they're doing in life.
Speaker 8 (02:01:36):
And one of them is a film producer.
Speaker 3 (02:01:42):
Yeah, which I'm you know, very proud of and glad
he's following his passion and his wife for making it work.
And they've done a lot of projects for a lot
of people, and and and good for them. And I
remember I never knew I never knew this with this
particular one. He had had a passion for this when
(02:02:02):
he was a little, a little bitty fella. Do I
remember Adler, this is you'll help with this speiting you
maybe to some degree, but I don't think you're in
this world as much as Adler. Do you remember the
cameras and they loved that little like a little box.
It was just a little box and you would shoot
your camera through it. Then you try to go to
your computer and you'd put your little video on it
with a little drive and thumb drive. They almost were
(02:02:24):
shaped like a box or something. They and then the
little ends was in it and you could shoot video. Yeah,
say a little flip came key, I guess.
Speaker 20 (02:02:32):
That was it.
Speaker 8 (02:02:33):
Yeah, the flip cameras.
Speaker 3 (02:02:34):
Yeah, so yeah, that that's it.
Speaker 5 (02:02:36):
You know that I had that.
Speaker 7 (02:02:37):
That's when I went parasling. Mine got ruined. I was
going to video when we do you remember that era?
Speaker 3 (02:02:42):
Well, Brody was a little fella and we thought, well
this is something that you know, we'll see where this goes.
And I remember being down at the farm and on
any given day I would be down there as part
of another little little Brody you know, major motion picture
and there, Well, forget the time that he wanted the
side by side ATV to be used because he didn't
(02:03:05):
because he's only a child, so he didn't have the
railroad track stuff that they moved the moving cameras well
when they're shooting some panoramic thing, and he would get
in the back of it and said, all right, did
go slowly, and he'd be shooting a panoramic view of
the of the farm, dressed of course as Indiana Jones
because he would also been star in it as Indiana Jones,
(02:03:26):
and you know, and his brothers and sister and me,
we would be various villains and stuff that. But usually
I ended up, you know, running like on the crew,
it seemed. And look, never did I think in that moment.
Speaker 5 (02:03:41):
You never know.
Speaker 3 (02:03:41):
You kids have little things they like when they're kids.
You don't know where it's going. And I didn't know
that one day that you know, the farm would be
taken away from me by my film producing son who's
shooting you know, a full length motion picture and and
it's getting toward hunting season and I'd like to have
it back, you know, and and so it's sign of that.
(02:04:03):
Well here's so so we you know, I went, did
I tell you I went to Tinglewood. Have you heard
about that. I went to that festival, And well, where
it's located is not all that far from the farm,
which is why Gary was in. Ain't that far So Sherry,
of course, if I'm anywhere in the area, we must
make a run to a nursery that she loves down there.
(02:04:26):
Remember when I went to the classes when we were
staying down there with him, back when I had access
to the farm. And so I thought, well, I'll run
down there and get this thing that has to be
planted in the ever evolving backyard project that Sherry has going.
Speaker 8 (02:04:41):
For the world's greatest backyard.
Speaker 3 (02:04:43):
And so I'm only five minutes now, okay from from
the farm, and I text, as I should, because I
don't want to be a b up, and and I
text his wife, who's kind of you know, she takes
care of making sure all the actors are fed and
all the schedule of the shoot and where everybody stays
and and all this. And so I said, hey, I
(02:05:06):
don't want to be a bit, but I wouldn't mind
coming by the farm, coming by my pharm you know,
And and she was say, oh, sure, come on, you
won't be but you know that feeling when you're in
the way, that terrible feeling. And so as I get there,
I see that they're shooting some scene involving a truck
in the dirt road, and I think, well, I'm I'm
(02:05:27):
I'm completely in a way and now I'm trying to
get by.
Speaker 5 (02:05:30):
But then a texture just brought this up.
Speaker 3 (02:05:32):
All of a sudden, I start hearing what sounds like fireworks,
and I'm like, he is he how much budget does
this kid have?
Speaker 5 (02:05:40):
You know? This is what? Is He's even fireworks? Or
is is there a war scene?
Speaker 8 (02:05:44):
Is it sounds like the Revolutionary War? But I'm like,
is this is a movie?
Speaker 5 (02:05:47):
A war picture?
Speaker 3 (02:05:48):
Because I won't I don't know what the movie is about,
and because he's, you know, not gonna tell dudes. And
all of a sudden I realized, Hey, it's opening day
of Dove season and there are people shooting everywhere, and
I'm like, man, this must be a struggle for the
audio people down here. I mean, it sounds shot, but
you know how first you can't figure out what's all
this about? Yeah, and you forget it's Deva season. So anyway,
(02:06:10):
Cameron meets me, and I can tell I'm in the way.
I can tell I don't want your truck.
Speaker 7 (02:06:14):
Don't park there.
Speaker 16 (02:06:15):
No, that was it?
Speaker 3 (02:06:16):
Really, you know, we don't need if you could put
your truck, I said, I just She goes, want you
to go into campus?
Speaker 7 (02:06:20):
Real, quiit?
Speaker 3 (02:06:20):
Do you need anything from camp house? No, I'm just
trying to come visit my farm, you know what I mean?
Speaker 16 (02:06:25):
And uh?
Speaker 8 (02:06:25):
And and I go into campus.
Speaker 7 (02:06:26):
Oh my, is it stuff everywhere? Oh my, you should
never have gone in there.
Speaker 3 (02:06:31):
All my deir heads down down still, and they put
them in some back room. I went back there. So
my wife as I get home, and you know, I'm stressed,
and so I just leave. I said, I can't even
look at this, and and I leave. And then Brodie
later he said, Dad, why didn't you stay? I mean,
after I finished, I said, I just I just felt
like I was in the way. And yeah, and said,
well campus, He goes, yeah, that's kind of We've shot
(02:06:53):
a lot of stuff in campus.
Speaker 8 (02:06:54):
Yeah, I see.
Speaker 2 (02:06:55):
And uh.
Speaker 3 (02:06:57):
And I'm like, okay, Dad, we'll put it back like
it was us. You know it won't either. And so
so I got the now I'm lamenting, and she's like,
will you please stop worrying about the camp house, and
I said, she goes, they will leave it, you know
how they always leave it better than they found it.
I said, they don't know where every thing goes well,
(02:07:17):
And she said, what do you mean they can hang
deer heads back?
Speaker 8 (02:07:21):
I said, not in the right place, and she goes,
what do you mean not in the right place?
Speaker 5 (02:07:26):
Now?
Speaker 3 (02:07:26):
See if this sounds O C D D y'all because
I was accused of I said, in the main area
of camp house, the only deer heads that should be
in there are deer heads of deer actually shot on
the property. Right, that's the camp house, right. We don't
put deer heads in there that were not shot on
the property. Those that are were shot at other places,
on other hunts. They're in the back of the house,
(02:07:48):
right that room. And frankly, I have them up there
based on the time they were killed. If you walk
through the history of the farm, and she goes, do
you hear, and I said, and it starts right there
where the hall starts, and you start at the first
deer ever killed here, and you work your way through this,
(02:08:08):
like knows you got left right? And I'm like, and
I just have a feend they're gonna just randomly put
them back. She goes, I think he knows how you
are about that. I said, I don't think he does.
Speaker 5 (02:08:19):
I hope they took pictures before they took him down.
Speaker 8 (02:08:21):
What are the odds?
Speaker 5 (02:08:23):
What are the odds?
Speaker 7 (02:08:24):
So you said to leave, HU had to get out
of there? I pad, I just I bolted, speaking of deer.
Speaker 5 (02:08:29):
I ran.
Speaker 3 (02:08:30):
I was like, I can't be here, I can't look
at this. I got to come back when this place
is less busy, this this place is upside down.
Speaker 7 (02:08:38):
Gun So then I gunn shot.
Speaker 3 (02:08:40):
So then I go to Bones Barbecue, you know, to
kind of relate, you know, just to calm myself. I
go in there, and those ladies that we love there,
they're all being so sweet. And they even said, now, look,
well you should let us know you're coming.
Speaker 5 (02:08:51):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (02:08:52):
We've been feeding uh, we've been feeding Brody and all
his people. I'm like, I don't okay. And then she goes,
matter of fact, there's an actor from New York here.
I said, really, And of course they got his name home.
They called him Buck. I found out later his name
is Duke. But anyway, and they were like, Buck comes
in her all time. He's loving living in Alabama and
he comes up here and each every day, I said, I.
Speaker 5 (02:09:12):
Bet he does you delivered? Why the deerheage down?
Speaker 14 (02:09:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:09:15):
Right?
Speaker 8 (02:09:16):
Or we had an incident piggy wiggily, But I understand
something went wrong there.
Speaker 5 (02:09:20):
But that's all really well.
Speaker 3 (02:09:22):
You know when there's when there's when there's foreigners in.
Speaker 5 (02:09:24):
Town, foreigners, people calling foreigners.
Speaker 8 (02:09:29):
Well the if you're not from Childing County, you're called foreigner?
Speaker 7 (02:09:32):
How you learned that from?
Speaker 10 (02:09:33):
Heerey?
Speaker 5 (02:09:33):
Didn't you know?
Speaker 8 (02:09:34):
Tarnation?
Speaker 3 (02:09:35):
There's someone here from New York City, you know, and
it's it's a buzz all over town. I feel like
I'm being blamed for it. But so I understand there
was an incident, but uh, one scene they were trying
to shoot. But what whether he said that. He said
that we got permission from like three different managers. They
(02:09:55):
said it was fine. I was just gonna get in
out real quick. And apparently the uh, the person who
actually owns sir whatever, the top person at that particular
pig said that they did not know that it wouldn't
just be locals and uh, and Ruddy was like, well,
we we've been down there for eighteen years I mean,
(02:10:16):
I'm you know, my family's been here for quite a while.
Yeah yeah, but I see you brought some people in
here the ain't local and this was from New York City.
I sense some Yankees in there, and so they were
they were kicked out and even get to do it
because of that. Yeah, it was an It was the
main person, really, I mean, picking them right out.
Speaker 5 (02:10:39):
Really, you should have said you hear those gunshots? We
left right back right over there.
Speaker 8 (02:10:43):
Yeah, their place.
Speaker 3 (02:10:44):
I think this is the last week.
Speaker 5 (02:10:49):
Get it back.
Speaker 3 (02:10:50):
Well, you don't just randomly put the dear heads back up.
They're supposed to be exactly where they were.
Speaker 1 (02:10:55):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Looking for the man
(02:11:17):
church near you.
Speaker 5 (02:11:19):
Here are some options, all right.
Speaker 3 (02:11:21):
So we got kind of a pretty big week this week.
Speaker 5 (02:11:24):
And watch me.
Speaker 3 (02:11:24):
I'm gonna pronounce it rock this time. Mantachie, Mississippi. That's
right in Yep, I got it right that time. I'm
doing a fantat Mantatchi mantachy in Mississippi.
Speaker 5 (02:11:35):
It's right there by two blos.
Speaker 8 (02:11:36):
I am so coming up this week.
Speaker 5 (02:11:38):
I'm trying. Oh boy, no, you gave me in your
list and I'm going so I just want to be
sure I have all this right. It's in here. I
just you know you and Greg, I hope you're saying
there's there's so many things that I that I have
to deal with over here.
Speaker 14 (02:11:55):
Here it is.
Speaker 5 (02:11:55):

Speaker 3 (02:11:56):
Uh huh uh huh. So here it is, so blake

So I'm going there on Sunday night five o'clock there too,
And if all the details are at the Manchurch dot com.
And then Orange Texas, the Beaumont area around in there
not a bad drive from Beaumont. Will be in Orange Texas.
(02:12:36):
This is a man church one day, three speakers coming.
I'll be one of them, and I'll have boy I'm

morning up until about lunch during the day all there.
Speaker 8 (02:12:57):
Is with them.
Speaker 7 (02:12:57):
Boonville is north of Tupelo, up forty five towards Corinth.
Speaker 8 (02:13:01):
So where's Mantachi.
Speaker 7 (02:13:03):
Mantachi is, Uh, it's closer to Tupelo. It's like northeast of.
Speaker 8 (02:13:07):
So we won't be too far apart from each other,
too far.
Speaker 7 (02:13:10):
I mean, you're a little but Booneville is a little
you know, a little further north north of Okay. Okay,
it's the west of Tishamingo. Oh now I got it
where main street outdoors?
Speaker 3 (02:13:21):
Oh yeah, okay, I don't have any but anyway, so
looking forward to that, I think I have that right, yeah,
and that'll be coming up this weekend.
Speaker 7 (02:13:32):
So on the back, real quick, on the back on
the deer heads, do you have do you have the
I guess what am I trying to say? The rick?
Speaker 14 (02:13:42):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (02:13:43):
Do you just do you just have the the deer
mounted or do you have the plaques?
Speaker 5 (02:13:47):
Plaques?
Speaker 7 (02:13:48):
Always you have the plate okay identified because some people
don't do that and you can just look and go, Okay,
I know that one. I know where that one is?
I got, so they'll be really real quick. You'll know
if they were put back right, real quick, real quick.
Speaker 8 (02:14:00):
Okay. I have two deer that I will know immediately, okay,
and I will be checking that. I will.
Speaker 3 (02:14:06):
And you know what else I've waited on? You know
my turkey mounts?
Speaker 4 (02:14:08):
Ready?
Speaker 14 (02:14:10):
Is it?
Speaker 8 (02:14:10):
But I'm waiting. I'm not what are you doing with
that one?
Speaker 3 (02:14:13):
If I'm gonna put it right there on the on
the heart of the hearth. Okay, we're gonna put that
right there in front of the.
Speaker 7 (02:14:18):
Full would we get? Are you serious there?
Speaker 15 (02:14:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:14:24):
You think I'm not gonna have big turkey sitting there?
Speaker 22 (02:14:26):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (02:14:26):
Tom, can't wait. I'm gonna get it now though, because
they're just be thrown back in some room.
Speaker 5 (02:14:30):
Oh yeah, they just need to you need to.
Speaker 8 (02:14:34):

Speaker 3 (02:14:35):
Be opened a couple of Saturdays ago, and they weren't.
That's all right, I'm getting it's not seasoned yet, Rick,
It's coming close. It's all right, Everything's gonna be fine.
Y So you know then, of course, you know you
heard when Gary was on the show. Everybody who's doing
their food plus right now, according to Gary, vines are
stupid too early. Yeah, I asked too early to burn
(02:14:57):
it up.
Speaker 5 (02:14:58):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (02:14:59):
I mean you get a false sense of coldness right now,
and that stuff just gonna burn up. You're just throwing
your money as well. You might as well just throw
it up the hogs r here. Okay, So when are
we going. We ain't gonna start to October.
Speaker 7 (02:15:11):
Yeah, he'll get into it the driest month of year.
And yeah, I'm not raining right now where we live.
Speaker 5 (02:15:17):
And I'd like to apologize to everybody that's dealing with
Gary in the forum. And I appreciate.
Speaker 3 (02:15:24):
I mean, you can't you can't be at a place
part time without a Gary and uh but but I
know those of you that are having to deal with
Gary and what he's doing concerning you feed and things
like that. He has fired so many people on feed.
I told him, Nay, I need to buy Thirsty and
I need to get it by Thirsty.
Speaker 8 (02:15:41):
So I just they done. Gary, can here's my check
with me on.
Speaker 7 (02:15:45):
Now he's fired everybody in the county.
Speaker 3 (02:15:47):
Hey, they charging us too much for this?
Speaker 7 (02:15:48):
They done well, he claims, he's like I said, he's
gonna start mix it in hotel.
Speaker 8 (02:15:52):
No, you're right, this is the latest thing.
Speaker 3 (02:15:54):
Hey, you know what I'm looking at that. I think
we can save ourselves one hundreds of dollars if I
just buy it in individual, just mix it as alves.
Speaker 7 (02:16:02):
Okay, all right, buddy.
Speaker 5 (02:16:04):
Sorry, if you got fired lately by Gary.
Speaker 3 (02:16:08):
I mean, you're not gonna be able to go anywhere. Yeah, yeah,
this will be bun chat with me.
Speaker 7 (02:16:13):
But I mean you can go out somewhere to eat
and you can be like, hey, what he's fired me again.
Speaker 3 (02:16:20):
Hey, you don't need to be paying that.
Speaker 7 (02:16:22):
I'm sure would like to make that call because we're
sure we have to. Well, he is claimed, and I
know we've talked about it. We won't go into detail,
but he claims we're walking in everywhere this year.
Speaker 5 (02:16:32):
I know this new thing where he wants us to
park in Kolera.
Speaker 8 (02:16:37):
I mean, I mean, I mean.
Speaker 5 (02:16:38):
Gary, he says that.
Speaker 7 (02:16:40):
He says that we ride in and we're loud, and
we all kind of loud.
Speaker 5 (02:16:44):
We probably need to quitting up a little bit.
Speaker 3 (02:16:45):
My favorite is when my kids were all young enough
to all be home and they would bring their friends
and their dads. I'm the only Gary is the only
person that thought I was bad for doing that.
Speaker 5 (02:16:55):
Why they're down here.
Speaker 3 (02:16:56):
Hey, you don't need to be bringing my people down here.
I'm telling you, Rick, you telling me the fun we're having,
Gary with our with our sons. You talk about they're
all friends.
Speaker 7 (02:17:04):
Why I got dis played?
Speaker 5 (02:17:05):
They're all friends and the dads are here too.
Speaker 3 (02:17:07):
Well, you can keep doing them kind of things if
you want, and you may feel good, but you ain't
gonna you're gonna pressure them deer.
Speaker 5 (02:17:12):
Talking about making precious memories.
Speaker 3 (02:17:14):
Gary, Yeah, we did you hear what he's already told
us as a show three times. He's already signed us
three hunts. Three we can go three times, he said.
He said, Now y'all can split up and go his
individuals more. But as far as all y'all going down
there and making that racket doing them campus videos, I
mean three times.
Speaker 8 (02:17:33):
I'm like, I'm where he gets this time. Remember you
were you had donning with Tommy?
Speaker 16 (02:17:36):
Right?
Speaker 3 (02:17:37):
Oh yeah, Tommy loves tell the story at the time
Gary took watermelons away from him. Remember that, Hey, Tommy's
down here getting water moltains, I said, Gary, I told
tom he could have watermelons, and we got three hundred
and something of them. Well, he can't have six. I'm like,
I don't care if he has six. Nope, three, So
apparently three is big with him. I don't know what
this three is. Remember and he took Tommy's watermelons away?
Speaker 5 (02:18:00):
Yeah you remember that.
Speaker 3 (02:18:01):
Tommy called me said, Rick, I'm here here, will you
please talk to him? He won't let me have water boons.
I ain't Rick, you too nice. I'm telling you they
will take advantage of you.
Speaker 5 (02:18:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:18:11):
Yeah, Tommy was really gonna kill us on those three
other watermelons.
Speaker 5 (02:18:14):
Or we got three hundred and fifty one of them
out there, just three.
Speaker 3 (02:18:18):
If you're talking about that truck load I have that,
I'm about to sail.
Speaker 5 (02:18:24):
Bottom of the hour.
Speaker 2 (02:18:25):
We'll be right back.

It's every road, take to loot to What about the dog?
Speaker 3 (02:20:45):
We're getting so many of these now, they have their
own category outside of hey bird, Hey bird.
Speaker 7 (02:20:50):
It's it's very popular because I think everybody can relate
at some point, even if it's not a dog. Whatever animal,
put it, you know, you take care of it. What
about the animal? Please?
Speaker 5 (02:20:59):
People we go somewhere, what about the animal? Please?
Speaker 3 (02:21:02):
If you enter into this world as new parents understand
the phrase, or even a new couple, the phrase what
about the dog? Will haunt your life? Okay, and many
times it's worth it, but just know it's there. Yep, emergency,
What about the dog? From Lance? Hey bird? Hey Birge,
I'm from Colman, What about the dog? I need a verdict,
(02:21:25):
and I need it fast. I was gonna call and
tell this story, but O Greg left for Grandparents' Day
and I really needed Greg for this one. I have
a mountain feist squirrel dog. His name is Jack, and
he's a good one and he for this we do.
His dad was a two time World champ. My wife, Oh, oh,
my beautiful, awesome, awesome, sweet wife. She has a snauzer yep,
(02:21:50):
two females that just means the world to her so
much so her favorite is Zoe, but Zoe has been fixed. Well,
the other snauzer is Dolly. And I'll just say this
that Dolly is not fixed and she enjoys that not
fixed freedom.
Speaker 4 (02:22:09):
Night.
Speaker 3 (02:22:10):
It is that time for Dolly. If you know what
I mean, we do do so. Jack is in our
sired yard fence around the pool. That's the award winning feist.
So my wife, Okaya. An occasion, the kids have been
taking Dolly out on the leash. Well, Jack escapes one day,
so they put Dolly in the house and they put
(02:22:31):
Jack in our kennel. We have a nice building in
the woods with a few pins and outside runs. Ok Now,
they're just letting Dolly out of the house because Jack
is locked up.
Speaker 2 (02:22:41):
Good.
Speaker 3 (02:22:41):
Well, one day we came home from work and Jack
is running around outside just having a grand old time.
He'd probably treated fifteen squirrels that day. Luckily Dolly has
been in the house or we're good right, Well, apparently
a skunk had dug under the backside of the kennel,
and Jack was digging towards the sand and dug all
(02:23:01):
the way.
Speaker 8 (02:23:02):
To the skunk's hole.
Speaker 3 (02:23:04):
And now that he's escaped, so I put him in
the pen on the opposite side of the kennel, which
is definitely the better part.
Speaker 8 (02:23:10):
He's not escaping from this side.
Speaker 3 (02:23:11):
So again, oh Dolly gets outside and continues to enjoy herself. Well,
my awesome wife is feeling bad for Jack because he's
been locked up, so she puts Dolly in the house,
lets Jack out for the evening, and he is loving it.
Speaker 5 (02:23:23):
Fellas.
Speaker 3 (02:23:24):
He's been in the pond swimming, he's had he's been
treeing squirrels. He's living his best life. Time for him
to go back in the kennel, right, My wife tells
my son to go put him up. And this is
where it goes south for us.
Speaker 8 (02:23:36):
Jack.
Speaker 3 (02:23:36):
Oh Jack, I thought was living his best life, But no,
he's really about to be living his best life, if
you know what I mean. My son puts him in
the kennel, my wife lets Dolly out. Within seconds, Jack
is doing one hundred miles per hour across the yard.
My son says, I put him in the wrong pen.
My wife is screaming for Dolly. I'm hollering for Jack
(02:23:58):
Ryan Dolly. The two dogs have always listened so well,
but not today. Nature is too strong now holding him back.
My son is running after them. One of my daughters
is on a four wheeler chasing after them. Myther daughter
has joined my wife and I'm screaming for the dogs.
Seconds later, my daughter shows up at the house and says,
(02:24:23):
I don't know how to say it. They have found
each other and they are connected. I'll just say that
in the most intimate way. Yeah, this ain't good bird
excavation points.
Speaker 5 (02:24:38):
What do we do?
Speaker 3 (02:24:40):
My wife said that she has too late we got
She says she has to take her to the vet,
that something must be done and get her fixed.
Speaker 8 (02:24:48):
I reply, yeah, that's a real pro dog pro of you.
Speaker 5 (02:24:54):
So here we are.
Speaker 3 (02:24:54):
You think Greg would raise these poor unplanned puppies. They
may actually make a awesome squirrel dogs.
Speaker 8 (02:25:00):
Who knows? I need a verdict, please and fast. Thank
you for all your time.
Speaker 3 (02:25:07):
Man, Well they're going to get Dolly fixed. You're a
little dollar short on that one.
Speaker 7 (02:25:13):
Yeah, they were a little late on that, but you
know after this sure, well, well, well just not fast
enough to catch.
Speaker 3 (02:25:20):
Him, Well, you can have the most trained dog you've
ever known, our person.
Speaker 7 (02:25:26):
Yeah and uh.
Speaker 3 (02:25:27):
When this, this particular urge hits the animal kingdom, they
are designed to replicate themselves over and over again. Oh yeah,
the way we should be devoted to making disciples. They
make puppies and kittens and all the other little critters.
Snauzer an award winning squirrel dog. What do you call that?
(02:25:53):
Do you do you raise those?
Speaker 5 (02:25:55):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (02:25:56):
And now we don't have to do the whole court.
He's just saying, let's let's help him because Greg's not here.
Speaker 5 (02:26:02):
Greg.
Speaker 3 (02:26:02):
Obviously, by the way Greg has lived his life, he
would vote for full raising of the puppies.
Speaker 5 (02:26:07):
He'd be like, what do you do? You know? Right
all that?
Speaker 7 (02:26:10):
Yeah, I'd just get a baby pull and right what baby?
Speaker 23 (02:26:15):
You know?
Speaker 5 (02:26:15):
He would get the baby baby pull?
Speaker 7 (02:26:17):
Okay, them in there, and then he would keep.
Speaker 3 (02:26:19):
Upgrade you have the plan of pulling is too late now?
Uh so so anyway.
Speaker 5 (02:26:26):
That apart, no, no you ever tried, no, no, no.
Speaker 14 (02:26:30):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:26:31):
People are saying it's totally and he says this. The
decision that I need is this can be stopped because
it's early. You can go to the vet and then
stop it. Should we just go on and have them?
Or should we stop it? I know that's an uncomfortable topic, huh,
but that's what's being asked here of us. Do we
go ahead and just let him be born? Are do
(02:26:52):
we get Dolly to the vet quickly for the stopping
of this continuing?
Speaker 7 (02:26:58):
And I guess that the order was who found them correct?
And she did confirm yes, and she'll never be the
same as We just want to make sure because you
don't want to take dollar to.
Speaker 8 (02:27:09):
Play, I don't. I'm not comfortable.
Speaker 22 (02:27:13):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:27:14):
Obviously we all have a sense of devotion to where
life begins for humans, but when you get into animals,
you know, that's that's a different not not the quite
moral dilemma there.
Speaker 11 (02:27:28):
It.
Speaker 8 (02:27:28):
You just have to know what you're getting into.
Speaker 3 (02:27:31):
Your heart says bring them on, Yeah, but your mind says,
if we could stop this, let's let's not take that off.
Speaker 7 (02:27:39):
I almost want to see what they look like.
Speaker 5 (02:27:42):
Here's I asked Gronk to generate an image of what
it would look like. Okay, plus a schnauzer.
Speaker 7 (02:27:50):
Gronk for that.
Speaker 16 (02:27:52):
One of them.
Speaker 8 (02:27:53):
Yeah, not only do would Greg tall you to raise them?
He'd like to have one.
Speaker 7 (02:27:57):
Yeah, well, you know Lisa, would that be all her
little babies?
Speaker 18 (02:28:02):
Right?
Speaker 3 (02:28:02):
We know it can be prevented. That's the Yeah, that's
the dilemma everybody's asking us about. Do we just go
on with it or do we go do what? If
you do anything? It's now, that's what he's saying. Now,
he said, I'm running out of time. That's why he
keeps kidding, he said he I've even tried to call.
He said, I'm running out of time.
Speaker 5 (02:28:18):
That's they call it a plan b plan bark Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:28:22):
There's no doubt if I was in this dilemma that
I would I would go. I would be headed to
the vet. So that would be my vote. I wouldn't
take this on.
Speaker 7 (02:28:30):
No, Yeah, I don't know the situation if if that's desired,
you know, and if you're getting any pullback from from
your wife phone, no, let's let's have puppies. I don't
know the dynamics on all that, but if everybody's on
the same team here, then you get them to that.
Speaker 3 (02:28:45):
You better move quickly because if the kids, this momentum
of puppies starts going, these kids are going to become
a loud voice. Then they're gonna get to mom's heart.
You're gonna be in a bond.
Speaker 7 (02:28:54):
Yeah, you really should have already acted nursing puppies for
you to be doing.
Speaker 3 (02:28:58):
And maybe this would be a.
Speaker 5 (02:28:59):
Good mom and you want be like what happened to
Greg and Leelee.
Speaker 3 (02:29:01):
But I see in my mind all like and see
is Greg's hands shaking as he tries to put in
the commercials for the day because he hadn't slept in
a week.
Speaker 5 (02:29:08):
Yeah, deep breath, right.
Speaker 7 (02:29:10):
Yeah, yeah, maybe maybe maybe mom is not gonna be
like Greg's Milly where she passed out and couldn't do it.
Speaker 3 (02:29:17):
There's no question. You got to get her to the
vet and let the vet tell you what what he
or she thinks.
Speaker 7 (02:29:21):
Yeah, agreed, We.
Speaker 8 (02:29:22):
We do not just act like nothing happened and let
just go on.
Speaker 3 (02:29:26):
Let's get to the vet with the dog and I
mean now, and then let them tell you that your
options and I would I would be a vote no
for more puppies speeding.
Speaker 7 (02:29:36):
Yeah, I'm voting no. Unless there's things we don't know
and and the majority of the family is wanting puppies,
then you're in a bind.
Speaker 5 (02:29:46):
I see what the vet.
Speaker 3 (02:29:47):
Says, and you would if the vets is this could
be stopped, would you say list stop?
Speaker 5 (02:29:51):
I would say yeah, all right, so we're all in
favor of.
Speaker 8 (02:29:54):
Not bringing those puppies into your world.
Speaker 1 (02:29:56):
Get them.
Speaker 5 (02:29:56):
You already got three dogs, buddy, you got I mean
like before noon, unless.
Speaker 3 (02:30:03):
You become the new five snauzer guy that everybody wants
to buy at a Fairhow prosecut they're this super squirrel
something right if you come up with something not lightly likely,
but that's tough, but not no way we raise them.
Speaker 14 (02:30:18):
Now.
Speaker 5 (02:30:19):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (02:30:21):

Speaker 3 (02:30:55):
All right, so we're back, Greg Gads made it back
from grandparents Breakfast and breakfast, grandparents Breakfast.
Speaker 5 (02:31:06):
It's been a busy week.
Speaker 3 (02:31:07):
Yesterday we had grandparents breakfast at church for paces group.
Oh boy, Today we got Maren's and then tomorrow is Ellis.
So they've just stacked that they're at school. Though there
are not at church. There's are at school. Wow, there's
this variety of grandparents basically, they get you into the
book fair and you buy stuff. That's right coming, get
(02:31:28):
a sausage biscuit and some grids. Did you really did
breakfast with me, papa?
Speaker 5 (02:31:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (02:31:32):
Pretty good, papa, Papa? Why do you eat so fast?
Speaker 8 (02:31:35):
Was Maren glad to see you?
Speaker 5 (02:31:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (02:31:37):
She was, Papa, thanks for coming she.
Speaker 5 (02:31:40):
I know she's in. Was it called pre k four K?
Speaker 3 (02:31:43):
Four year old four k? It's hard to believe that
was called four something like that.
Speaker 8 (02:31:47):
She thanks for coming over here, Papa.
Speaker 3 (02:31:49):
That's right, give me a twenty I got some books
and then you know, Papa slowed down that biscuit. It
ain't going nowhere, Papa, you don't breathe, you eat?
Speaker 5 (02:32:02):
Why are you scarking?
Speaker 3 (02:32:04):
Who's going to take it from you?
Speaker 5 (02:32:06):
Didn't have a chance, You're right?
Speaker 3 (02:32:12):
This scritch in your beer?
Speaker 7 (02:32:14):
Okay for a minute, but uh I heard the verdict
on the way in.
Speaker 3 (02:32:20):
Did you hear that dog situation? The whole situation? He
said he you would be his only hope. Well, look
here's the deal and then my life. Here's what would
have happened. First of all, I mean, Lisa's gonna get
the puppies and then she's going to play them with people.
So she's really good at that. First of all, though
kind of the same mistake I made. Why was the
one not fixed? I don't know if the other one was. Yeah,
(02:32:41):
that's the question they're asking.
Speaker 7 (02:32:42):
They might he might have just did what you told Lisa,
and I'll get her fixed and then you never do.
Speaker 3 (02:32:48):
That's probably what it was.
Speaker 5 (02:32:49):
But like I said, Lisa would definitely have we would
have we would have had more puppies.
Speaker 3 (02:32:52):
Well, here's what you hope for it. She don't have
eight or nine like I dealt with last time. There's
a good selling point when you're giving these ways. They
do have champions squirreled them, right, you can talk about that. Hey,
I'm giving you a puppy that's actually got championship breed
in it. I'm just trying to think. But yeah, at
our in our home, that would have been just like
it was last time, except the difference is that the
(02:33:13):
mom at least she'll be one hundred percent we hope,
and I don't have the bottle feed all.
Speaker 5 (02:33:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:33:18):
So but you're saying that adds say I've had a
dog with a bunch of puppies that could feed them.
Big difference when you're having to feed them. Yeah, huge,
if you're down there sitting with them, so is Leally
she would not be open to let's go the vet
so we can no way, no way, okay, box and
(02:33:39):
give them out, but she would play something, but she
would not be open to stop in the pregnant No okay,
So Lance you three to one, but you still got
the verdict.
Speaker 8 (02:33:47):
You want to or maybe you didn't want. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (02:33:50):
And that's what That's one thing I said is that
if the house is divided, you're in you're in trouble
because you're obviously going to go away your daughter and
your wife, and of course you are if you want.
But if everybody's on same t it's not an issue.
But unfortunately now you won't ask me what I would
want to do. I feel bad for the daughter. Yeah,
they're just dogs. Are not romantic. They're just they're not
(02:34:13):
They're just not and they're not modest. And you can't
keep them separated. You think you can, they'll find a way.
Speaker 16 (02:34:20):
Well they.
Speaker 3 (02:34:22):
Crack so thin that that a mouse couldn't get through it.
Speaker 7 (02:34:25):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he dug that hole. And I think
I got is that the one that son putting back
in the one.
Speaker 8 (02:34:32):
What about your son that they putting.
Speaker 3 (02:34:35):
That's a bad mess up, But I mean it's had
a little bit on differ, not getting that that whole
fixed when it was trying to come back be in
a mountain feast. Oh baby, get after it. And they're smart,
believe it or not. Greg, why are you're here?
Speaker 5 (02:34:47):
We have another? What about? What about the doll out there?
Speaker 14 (02:34:54):
Human? What about them doll chap lying country dreams allowing
hooking a Dialpa, come out here. The dogs are naxt every.
Speaker 5 (02:35:08):
Bouncing dogs. So this one comes from Ben. We have
waited all summer.
Speaker 8 (02:35:14):
You ever been there?
Speaker 3 (02:35:15):
We waited all summer to avoid some of the huge
crowds along the Gulf of America. Oh, we've been waiting
on this vacation.
Speaker 20 (02:35:23):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (02:35:23):
No when to go?
Speaker 3 (02:35:25):
As we wake up on Wednesday morning to start the
six hour journey to the beach, we let the three
inside dogs out for their morning business. Three dogs included
a one hundred pound German shepherd, Hey Buddy, and the
duo of killer Docson's. Oh, I've had a duo of those,
Our killer Duke, the standard Dotson and Honey the miniature
(02:35:45):
of docs.
Speaker 5 (02:35:46):
Oh.
Speaker 8 (02:35:46):
Yeah, a couple of Winnie dogs.
Speaker 3 (02:35:48):
They're all press spirited, they're all precious in my wife's eyes.
After allowing the dogs to run around the fence in
the backyard as we gathered the last few things we
need for vacation, I proceeded to open the back door
to let them back into the house. And that's when
the overwhelming funk hit me in the face like a shovel.
(02:36:09):
This morning, of all mornings, minutes before leaving vacation morning,
the killer Dotson's decided it was time to seek and
destroy a skunk. Oh skunk, She'll do it though them Dodson's.
Speaker 5 (02:36:25):
Theyll team up.
Speaker 3 (02:36:26):
My two would kill snakes. That's why they got to it.
Speaker 7 (02:36:28):
Seemed like a winnie dog owner.
Speaker 5 (02:36:30):
The kids will know.
Speaker 3 (02:36:31):
They apparently were just The skunk was just passing through
the backyard. So we spent the next hour bathing dogs.
The only thing I kept saying is what about the
precious sweet dog? And we've heard from other people getting
that funk off of them as a job. They sent
me a picture of them and they did it right.
(02:36:51):
They used to mate a juice you gotta use to
make a juice. We finally began to fight the I
sixty five traffic and arrived to the sandy white beaches
of the Gold Off of America, where the weather has
been near perfection, The water is crystal clear, and the
crowds have been minimal. As I right, we are preparing
for college football Saturday, including a fresh shrimp boil. Have
(02:37:13):
a few more days of vacation left before back to
the reality of what about the dog? Spent a little
time away from it. How about this, he said, Here
we were, we were just about to leave, and they've
gone of scum. They sent me a picture of you
see the dogs like standing in the bathtub with tomato
(02:37:33):
juice all thinking like nobody's about that.
Speaker 5 (02:37:36):
You've got tomato juice all over you. Yeah, this is
what this is. Nothing about that My life now down
here with the dog. What about them dogs, I'm gonna
tell you them dots.
Speaker 3 (02:37:44):
And they don't play. You talked about how fisty they
can do.
Speaker 5 (02:37:47):
That's unreal.
Speaker 3 (02:37:48):
They would fight bigger dogs and never won. And when
they fought each other, it was two males. When they
fought each other, they'd be bleeding every but and they
kill snakes, like I said, And that's why they got
stayed one grade in one grand other. Then they start pulling.
Really yeah, that's crazy. What about them dogs? They got
to earn the key, don't you, Baba? That's right, be useful.
(02:38:08):

Speaker 5 (02:39:15):
Not there yet.
Speaker 3 (02:39:17):
Also our first ever Rick Burgess Show Best of CD
coming out this fall. So all that's still to come
at a lot of action coming this fall, Rick, ready
for that. Just since we were on dog subject, I
got one more I forgot. We woke up Saturday and
Lisa said, there's something in the yard. There's these two
(02:39:39):
stray dogs that are coming up. They belong to somebody.
I'm on now anyway, So she goes, and I'm like.
Speaker 16 (02:39:45):
What now.
Speaker 3 (02:39:45):
I look out the winning and it's like just piled
up white, and I see the two dogs out there playing. Well,
what they've done is they've gotten one of Lisa's pillows
off of the furniture and ripped it to pieces. And
that was that foam everywhere else. So I go out
there and have to clean all that mess up. Well,
how would you just informed me? She left this morning?
(02:40:07):
They've got two more pillows, the same straight dogs. Well
they're not straight, they belonged, they're just not mine. They've
got two more pillows. And it was like snow in
the front yard again. So I got to deal with that.
Speaker 8 (02:40:17):
And then you're gonna what I'm assuming I have to
replace the pillows so they can turn them up again.
Speaker 3 (02:40:21):
That's what we're debating. And there's still a few left
on the back. I said, well, they're eventually just gonna
get them all. They will get them all up to
the gone. Look you look at the in the yard
after playing with each other and all this, they don't
even belong to us, and uh and and they've been
there before, not bothered anything. But now they've discovered these
pillows and this so it looks like it snowed at
the house. You don't understand there's a lot of phone
inside of them, Yes, there are.
Speaker 7 (02:40:40):
What is it about getting getting in that? It could
be a toy. You could be just getting all that
that the inside of it and just I'm just gonna
put it everywhere.
Speaker 3 (02:40:50):
Yeah, what is the that's my goal, guys, reason with
the dog, trying to get in the mind of a dog.
I was trying to figure out what that white stuff
when she goes what is that? And I looked out
there and I'm talking about a lot not.
Speaker 5 (02:41:01):
Get out there, And they've done ripped that pillow.
Speaker 3 (02:41:04):
So that may you know, Lisa does love dogs. Was
she's starting not to love these two. That's a lot
of bending over and getting that stuff.
Speaker 5 (02:41:09):
Yeah, it's terrible.
Speaker 3 (02:41:10):
Well you know it's it's kind of like, so, did
you have a good attitude about cleaning it up? Well,
I've cleaned up so much behind Milly, I'm kind of
in practice. Because she's a threat. She'll do that. I'm
surprised she hadn't done those particular pillows, but she she
has done similar like blankets in the winter we put out.
Speaker 5 (02:41:26):
She'll drag them out in the yard.
Speaker 3 (02:41:27):
So we have a we we're watching kind of a
clash here Leelee decorative pillows versus stray dogs. Yeah, they
picked the pillows. I think right now the pillows are leading.
Oh really yeah, yeah, she's know because she don't know
those two dogs.
Speaker 5 (02:41:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:41:42):
Now, okay, Milly choose everything up. But I can't get
on to her. So today she told me. I was
giving a speech in the garage after she'd eat the
wiring out of the garage door, you know where it
goes up and down. And I'm out there just ranting
like a like a madman. Yes, when you just to
that dog, the dog didn't bring you explained to it
that hadn't brought anything to the table, pat nothing. And
(02:42:03):
she come out.
Speaker 7 (02:42:04):
She said, I can hear you in the house, and
she said, you sound.
Speaker 3 (02:42:06):
Like a maniac. And it won't harm the doll. The
dog will be fine. If you've got to be begun,
that's what we need. We've talked about that. It's one
pop man. It won't hurt the dog, but it'll make
the dog not want to be right. But what's funny
is these two I call them the party. I don't
know if the boys or girls, or what I call
them the party boys, because they get out in the
yard and they get in my yard they start playing
(02:42:28):
with each other and they get each other headlocks and
all this ripping pillows up. Now I'm a swimming out
in the country. It's it's free range. Oh yeah, they
just where do you think they came from? If you guess,
I know the area they're coming out of? It, it's off.
Speaker 5 (02:42:40):
Is that where Marty came from?
Speaker 3 (02:42:41):
Where's ma Marty came from?
Speaker 8 (02:42:42):
The back?
Speaker 5 (02:42:43):
Marty?
Speaker 3 (02:42:43):
Marty's gone.
Speaker 5 (02:42:44):
He had heard from him and almost I know.
Speaker 3 (02:42:46):
It, And now I like Marty. He was He belonged
to my neighbor and he would come spend time with us.
And then him and Buddy got in a fight one
time and uh a girl. He hadn't been back since.
But it wasn't even fun to come over and get
a bit. Well, it was a good fight. Marty held
his own. But yeah, but anyway, I do miss Marty.
He was for dry By said, yeah, hanging out. He's
(02:43:08):
still alive. I think when's the last time I saw him.
I don't know, It's been probably a year if I
go by where he lives. But uh, yeah, he just
and then they also fixed the fence because the fence
got knocked down during the tornado. Okay, and mister White's
cows kept coming out and they finally got them fixed.
And I don't know if that messed Marty up on
way used to come.
Speaker 7 (02:43:27):
Okay, Mary was good.
Speaker 3 (02:43:30):
He didn't bother nothing, didn't tear nothing up.
Speaker 5 (02:43:32):
He was good.
Speaker 7 (02:43:33):
Terrio could get these cheap toys that they can rip
within seconds.
Speaker 5 (02:43:36):
Destroyer.
Speaker 2 (02:43:37):
Oh got you.
Speaker 5 (02:43:37):
Another little toy.
Speaker 7 (02:43:38):
No, that's just gonna be.
Speaker 3 (02:43:39):
All over the yard.
Speaker 5 (02:43:39):
Why are we doing that.
Speaker 8 (02:43:40):
They don't make it.
Speaker 7 (02:43:41):
We went and and you know, you know me, I
mean we went and bought, bought, like sure enough, good
toy even says can't rip. They had it ripped within
three days. Yeah, there's not a toy made. There's almost
twenty dollars for that one toy there was.
Speaker 8 (02:43:56):
I knew we'd get to the produce.
Speaker 5 (02:43:57):
I mean, that's outrageous. That's outrageous. And on the inside
it even had like an X ray of the toy
and then it was rope on the inside.
Speaker 7 (02:44:06):
I'm like, okay, that's great. Well, no, it still had
all the filling in there too. I think just that
stuff everywhere.
Speaker 5 (02:44:12):
You remember baby Girl the dog. I had the best
fetch dog I've ever owned.
Speaker 3 (02:44:15):
Yeah, I had one of those toys and I threw
it and she got it and then just took off
in the woods with it and then never saw it again.
Speaker 5 (02:44:23):
It's like she's running with a twenty in her mouth. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:44:25):
You know, in the world, you enjoy it for about
ten minutes.
Speaker 5 (02:44:34):
It's either going to disappear forever or it's gonna look
like you hit a newspaper with your lawnmower. Yeah. Do
you ever hit the nea?
Speaker 17 (02:44:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (02:44:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:44:41):
And then because I have no life and I'm having
to shovel crap, I'll see it and I'm like, no,
it's in the crap you said there you ate it?
Uh huh, I see it.
Speaker 3 (02:44:49):
I get that.
Speaker 5 (02:44:50):
I see the white in there, And what kind of
life is that? That's what I'm doing? Eats, blankets, rugs.
I can't be our life. No, she's.
Speaker 3 (02:45:00):
Yeah, they really are, speaking of anyway. I'm dumb and
dog talk.
Speaker 7 (02:45:05):
Okay, no, I check.
Speaker 3 (02:45:06):
I mean I just bet that I thought it snowed
in one spot in some weird weather event. It was
I didn't know what it was, and it's stupid pham
out of a pillar. Somebody gave you that dog.
Speaker 1 (02:45:16):
To for free.
Speaker 5 (02:45:17):
You know where you dropped twenty Oh you know, I
remember I told you that.
Speaker 13 (02:45:21):
I know.
Speaker 7 (02:45:21):
I remember I told you the guy that was giving
away free puppies out front. Yes, we were in there
getting getting a toy.
Speaker 3 (02:45:27):

Speaker 7 (02:45:41):

Speaker 3 (02:45:50):
Well yeah, and that they lasted a long Yeah, let's
do that.
Speaker 1 (02:45:54):
Gosh.
Speaker 3 (02:45:55):
And I don't get me started on VI bills between
all the ones I've had, do y'all have any idea
what that number?
Speaker 4 (02:46:00):
Greg?
Speaker 3 (02:46:01):
When I finally gave my dog away to somebody who
truly loves it is having the best life ever. You
wouldn't believe the games I made on the principle of
my house.
Speaker 5 (02:46:08):
I started keeping taking it.
Speaker 3 (02:46:10):
I just take the same money that I spent on
that stupid dog to start to put it toward the principal.
I've almost got my house paid off absolutely. Oh yeah,
oh yeah, I mean, just men.
Speaker 5 (02:46:21):
I can find this. I am going to.
Speaker 3 (02:46:24):
Alight right out of Wait a minute, Speedy interesting.
Speaker 5 (02:46:34):
Dug ninety nine has got something to say?
Speaker 3 (02:46:36):
Who duck ninety nine? Okay, hey bird, hey birge. Friday night,
my family and I ate at the neighborhood grill. We
spoke to someone named Tommy Lenore Oh when we walked in.
Didn't want to be a bip so just said hi
to Speedy. But I did sit behind them, behind us,
(02:46:59):
and I purposely watched when the check was deed, And
all I can say is Speedy started patting his pockets
and looking at Tommy. That stuff I left in my truck.
Speaker 5 (02:47:13):
My truck, my truck.
Speaker 3 (02:47:14):
Said it said. It upsets some of the Florida fans
sitting next to us after they're lost, because he had
alligator arms. See, so he just making.
Speaker 5 (02:47:24):
Just making stuff up.
Speaker 7 (02:47:25):
Hey, the Florida So now you got me got you
got me special again?
Speaker 5 (02:47:32):
Well, but so an alligator walks that way he's got.
That's your zombies. That's a little different.
Speaker 7 (02:47:42):
Hey, back to check your email, and I sent a
picture of what what I bought, just to proved that
I was buying it.
Speaker 5 (02:47:50):
Line back to the dolls.
Speaker 3 (02:47:51):
Somebody can't at you b I bought it.
Speaker 5 (02:47:53):
You know, I do buy things. I function.
Speaker 7 (02:47:55):
I'm a real person, you know. I have call payment,
mortgage stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (02:48:03):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. God fearing and America
loving the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (02:48:24):
We're back. Thanks for being with us America as we
work through another day.
Speaker 3 (02:48:29):
All right, So heads up, heads up? Serious topic.
Speaker 11 (02:48:35):
You know we.
Speaker 3 (02:48:36):
Well at times we'll touch on a serious topic, but
this is one that we can all agree on, and
that is recognizing those who have served our country, you know,
and have put their lives on the line for us
through our military. You know, we had three of our
branches of military this year, turning two hundred and fifty.
Speaker 8 (02:48:56):
Would you like to do? Does everybody know which three?
Speaker 5 (02:49:00):
It had?
Speaker 8 (02:49:01):
Been with me at Tinglewood Festival?
Speaker 7 (02:49:04):
Army, Army, yeah, yes, we go, Army, Mayvy yees yes yeah,
Ma Force, Marine Marines, I mean I met marines, right,
Air Force, I don't know I.
Speaker 5 (02:49:16):
Met Marines.
Speaker 7 (02:49:19):
Greg it's said air force has slid me in there.
Speaker 3 (02:49:20):
And then our country is turning two hundred and fifty
as we know next year and studio.
Speaker 5 (02:49:26):
So this hey, this caution super serious.
Speaker 8 (02:49:28):
What about say x oh God understood?
Speaker 7 (02:49:31):
Okay, it is our week of September.
Speaker 3 (02:49:33):
September eleventh, nine to eleven is coming in this week,
and uh, you know I've had I have the honor
of working with the American Village and uh Operation we Remember.
This campaign is about to start all across our state.
Speaker 5 (02:49:46):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:49:46):
If you'd like to know more about that, you can
certainly go to American Village dot org. But you know,
one of the things that we see far too many
times and it and it's super super serious, is when
our ve tans end up taking their own life through
suicide because of the difficulties of dealing with the things
they've been through. And so we want you to help
(02:50:09):
and remind them that they're not alone. That you know,
they're bigger than any moment that might have traumatized them.
And so there's an opportunity for us to remember that,
and we're putting signs together Operation we Remember. It's a tribute.
There's been one hundred and thirty nine veterans just in
our state, sadly that have lost their life in twenty
(02:50:31):
twenty three to suicide. So what we have is a
Veterans Crisis Line and there's signs that you can place
in your yard as we remember the ones who you
know unfortunately took their lives, while at the same time
bringing awareness to others who may be in critical situations themselves.
(02:50:52):
So dial nine eight eight and impress one. That's the
Veterans Crisis Line. You just dial nine eight eight Impress
one if you need help. But we have signs that
can remind our veterans how much we appreciate them and
that they're not alone and that there's always hope around
the corner. As part of the Semiquin Centennial celebration because
(02:51:15):
the American Village is the capital in Alabama for that celebration,
as we've been talking about, so you can display flags
with nine to eleven coming up. The actual campaign will
go on from September twelfth through the thirteenth, and of
course that will be the Navy's two hundred and fifty
birthday there on the thirteenth, So if you'd like to
find out more about that just go to American Village
(02:51:36):
dot org as we look back on nine to eleven,
while at the same time bringing awareness to the struggle
of some of our veterans and people who were part of,
you know, on the front lines of that horrible, horrible day.
So anyway, just a little reminder there, kind of opening
the door a little bit, even though it was a
little bit light hearted. President Trump has put a reporter
(02:51:59):
in her place. What a shocker, So he what he didn't.
So it's it's a back and forth, you know, the
deal going on with Chicago, which is horrible with you know,
the people that continue to be shot and killed every
weekend in Chicago, and now Chicago the politicians denying help
(02:52:24):
from the government to try to bring that city under
you know, law and order like they have done for Washington,
d C.
Speaker 8 (02:52:33):
And others.
Speaker 3 (02:52:33):
Even though there's people that are in harm's way that
want this help, the local government is turning it down.
So a reporter is going to ask a question to
Trump and try to frame it in a way that
he does not care for.
Speaker 5 (02:52:47):
Here we go and there's a little bit of helicopter
noise and he's going to respond for quite a while.
So just to make sure people get the question. The
reporter says, are you ready to go to war with Chicago?
Speaker 3 (02:52:57):
Okay, can say that.
Speaker 5 (02:53:00):
Let's take news. Listen, be quiet, listen. You don't listen.
Speaker 20 (02:53:06):
You're never listening.
Speaker 3 (02:53:07):
That's why you're second grade. We're not going to war.
Speaker 11 (02:53:11):
We're going to clean up our city.
Speaker 3 (02:53:12):
We're going to clean them up so they don't kill
five people every weekend.
Speaker 5 (02:53:16):
That's not the war.
Speaker 3 (02:53:17):
That's common sense.
Speaker 5 (02:53:19):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (02:53:20):
He didn't like her using the phrase, which I agree
with you. He's not going to war with now. I'll
tell you one thing. You're in the war zone if
you live in the wrong parties. And he says, we're
just here to help to bring law and orders. And
when you say things like that, of course I'm sure
he will. Well, he's gonna hear about Connor Darling, right, Yeah,
he's gonna hear about that. Yeah, uh, he says, and
(02:53:40):
then he tells her to be quiet. So that's gonna
I can't wave it. What's that sound. It's the View crying.
I can hear it right now.
Speaker 5 (02:53:49):
Yeah, the View.
Speaker 8 (02:53:51):
The View will come on today and they will just
be in tears.
Speaker 5 (02:53:54):
Yeah they won't.
Speaker 3 (02:53:55):
They won't care about the people that were killed in Chicago,
but they're gonna care about this report.
Speaker 7 (02:53:58):
We're all fired up on Sonny was just on Good
Morning America talking about the new season about to start
on the View, Well, how about the alls?
Speaker 5 (02:54:04):
Either the sound is either the view or a donkey farm.
I can't tell what.
Speaker 3 (02:54:10):
Okay, Uh, here we go, let's get in the tunes
here adlers. So the crowd goes wild when President Trump
is shown him the big screen during the national anthem
at the US Open in New York City.
Speaker 5 (02:54:22):
Of all places, here we go. It's during the night game.
Speaker 21 (02:54:28):
There we.
Speaker 3 (02:54:30):
Is that applause or booth, it's a it's a smattering
of both.
Speaker 7 (02:54:35):
Yeah, the gorse. The liberal media tried to say it
was all booze, and then there's other video out that
it wasn't. At one point he was actually signing hats
and throwing it to the Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:54:45):
Yeah. So here's the I think another uh some more
audio of that speed that you.
Speaker 7 (02:54:50):
Yeah, Greg, Greg, just don't say anything.
Speaker 5 (02:54:56):
There's a sign language, guy, Greg, don't make fun of it.
I'm not that.
Speaker 10 (02:55:04):
Face.
Speaker 5 (02:55:07):
They got the big flag on the hold.
Speaker 8 (02:55:10):
I met numerous people, didn't know how many strips were
on it.
Speaker 7 (02:55:14):
Did y'all see speaking of these big flags that cover
the field, the one that got trapped underneath it at the.
Speaker 5 (02:55:19):
NFL trapped underneath it and then trapped on top of it? Yeah,
was it or was it top? He was there was
there was There was a problem. There was a major problem. Yes,
was crawling across the flag. Look what does he do?
This is at the Jets game. And look at him.
He's just crazy stripes there, they're wont the flapping. He's
(02:55:41):
messing it up.
Speaker 3 (02:55:41):
By the way, that is not true. People thought that
was somebody working on the flag. That's just a Jets
fan that can't believe the season is already back again.
Speaker 5 (02:55:50):
Let me crawl out of here. Was good. Yeah, here's
the footage of him signing the hats whatever you have
that there in two So.
Speaker 7 (02:55:59):
Yeah, he's just he's signing. And Tolson people you know,
they're they're kind of.
Speaker 5 (02:56:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:56:08):
And and and if you don't believe me, he's America's
favorite president, just ask him.
Speaker 5 (02:56:11):
Who tell you.
Speaker 3 (02:56:15):
That's your favorite president?
Speaker 11 (02:56:16):
Here?
Speaker 5 (02:56:17):
Did y'all see Aaron Rodgers did speaking of the Jets game,
his comments after the game. Let's see, here we go
because the Steelers beat the Jets.
Speaker 8 (02:56:28):
That's right.
Speaker 5 (02:56:28):
We all saw that. We all saw that. Here Rogers
was asked about if you guys want to hear that,
Sure quickly, here we go, and he spoke about the
meeting with Don on Glenn. I'm not a few months ago.
Beating him is your significance in that sense. He basically
told you to your face that he didn't think you
were right for that team. Yes, that's what he did.
So there are significance in beating him.
Speaker 7 (02:56:50):
For I was happy to beat everybody associated with the Jets.
Speaker 3 (02:56:58):
I bet you were, as you were.
Speaker 16 (02:57:00):
Let be right back.
Speaker 1 (02:57:04):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who was
bold enough to point out that there is no such
thing as dog ears. Dogs just don't live as long
as you. But as Rick burchase, that's just a fact.

Speaker 3 (02:59:14):

the house is gonna get I don't know why that's
sleep on my back.
Speaker 8 (02:59:20):
I just can't do it.
Speaker 5 (02:59:21):

I can't do I can't. I cannot do it. I've
tried it, can't do it.
Speaker 5 (02:59:27):
I think I need like a mouthpiece or something to
pull my jaw forward because my tongue is big and
it like it chokes me.
Speaker 7 (02:59:33):
I didn't know you had a big tongue.
Speaker 5 (02:59:36):
Yeah, yeah, Like if I lay on my back, I'm
fine until the moment I fall asleep, and then it's.
Speaker 3 (02:59:41):
Like, right, I would have thought your tongue was no
big tongue. Big tongue, man, So it's kind of like
your head. It's kind of like your head. It doesn't
fit your body. Yeah, a little bit like that.
Speaker 22 (02:59:51):
I got you.
Speaker 5 (02:59:52):
What's the ule? It's called a uvicle. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

I didn't know. Did y'all know the little flat that
hangs out?
Speaker 3 (03:00:05):
I think what you're talking about is not even on
the right gender.
Speaker 7 (03:00:08):
No, but do you do you have an oversized uvula,
because that could be the reason why.
Speaker 5 (03:00:13):
The hanging down any thing?
Speaker 8 (03:00:14):
Yeah, some people that the punching bag.
Speaker 5 (03:00:17):
Yeah that's what. Yeah, I didn't know. That plays a
big key in balance, by the way it does.
Speaker 7 (03:00:22):
Everybody knows that that's your big toe you're thinking about.
Speaker 5 (03:00:25):
That's a pinky toe. Everybody's saying that's more important than
you realize.
Speaker 3 (03:00:28):
The pinky toe.
Speaker 16 (03:00:29):
Here.
Speaker 7 (03:00:29):
Let me see that ula. Let me see it.
Speaker 3 (03:00:36):
Sounds like something.
Speaker 5 (03:00:37):
Yeah, huh it is. But I sleep on my left
side most of the most of the times.
Speaker 3 (03:00:43):

Speaker 5 (03:00:48):

projection from the back edge of the middle of this
soft palette composed of connective tissue containing a number of gans.
Speaker 7 (03:01:05):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (03:01:07):
It meant when when that boy started talking, that was
a scary moment.
Speaker 5 (03:01:10):
It was, it was, it was, it was.
Speaker 3 (03:01:13):
I said, I said, first, Yes, I don't have you right,

Speaker 5 (03:01:27):
Greg. Where are you on?
Speaker 8 (03:01:28):
Super Tramp?
Speaker 7 (03:01:29):
Not that much?
Speaker 8 (03:01:30):
I don't like him that much.
Speaker 5 (03:01:31):
I remember Breakfast in America, that album when I was
in like the eighth grade.
Speaker 3 (03:01:35):
I remember the logical song. I remember listening to the lyrics.
A kid Strange means Adler super Tramp.
Speaker 5 (03:01:44):
I don't love him, but not not bad. They've got
a couple of hits.
Speaker 3 (03:01:46):
Jordan seems upset about it. Yeah, I don't know if
he's heard what happened real mad? Yeah, friend of ours, Jordan,
here's with us today? Sipping little coffee.
Speaker 5 (03:01:56):
Ready to go?
Speaker 3 (03:01:57):
Uh did you care about super Tramp since you haven't
to go background at all?
Speaker 13 (03:02:01):
No?
Speaker 3 (03:02:01):
And yeah, I mean so Rick Davies is dad to
eighty one, but I didn't mean anybody with that. Get
the creator of super Trank, co founder and give a
little big guy that you the only one you.
Speaker 7 (03:02:12):
Ever say, give a little bit.
Speaker 5 (03:02:13):
It's a great song, the logical song.
Speaker 7 (03:02:14):
And and Goodbye Stranger were probably.
Speaker 3 (03:02:16):
What about take the Long Way home? Goodbye Stranger? Careful?
Speaker 8 (03:02:21):
I mean take the long Way home? How'd you like
that one?
Speaker 5 (03:02:23):
So you thank you?
Speaker 3 (03:02:24):
An me know?
Speaker 5 (03:02:25):
Yeah, that's pretty cool. Yeah, they've got some good songs.
Speaker 3 (03:02:28):
It's raining again though it's pretty speed. Uh you're now
watch Greg's reaction to this one right now. So Rick Davies,
co founder of super Tramp, dad Toddy one. Do we
care because he's a real person. No, I don't care,
but I well it ain't Elvis. I'm gonna ask again,
and I know everything. Here's the thing we need to
(03:02:49):
do every time I don't know who's gonna beat that.
Here's what we need to do every time. Every time
I every time a rock star dies in their eighties,
we must announce announced that Keith Richards is still a.
Speaker 7 (03:02:59):
Lot and thriving. Yeah, I don't know how what was breeding?
Speaker 3 (03:03:05):
Thanks he is he's got like fifty kids.
Speaker 5 (03:03:07):
Yeah, thank you, buddy, Thanks Greg? Wrong one Breakfast in
America remember that one? Just about it?
Speaker 3 (03:03:14):
That was a big I remember getting the album on
the whatever that club was when you get like statue
of Liberty holding a thing of pancakes.
Speaker 8 (03:03:20):
I'm familiar with it, Greg, remember that.
Speaker 7 (03:03:21):
Yeah, yes, I had the album.
Speaker 5 (03:03:23):
And there's a big uh nine to eleven conspiracy around that,
by the way, really.
Speaker 3 (03:03:27):
Yeah, yeah around the Breakfast in America album cover was
eighty one.
Speaker 5 (03:03:31):
Yeah, because it's got the Twin Towers and then it's
got anyways see that when you know why? Because they
were there?
Speaker 16 (03:03:37):
What does that?
Speaker 7 (03:03:38):
It's like early eighties.
Speaker 5 (03:03:40):
Look we'll get into it on nine to eleven.
Speaker 8 (03:03:41):
Okay, thank you, Okay, what.
Speaker 3 (03:03:43):
I'm just kidding, I'm not going to do it.
Speaker 7 (03:03:45):
I like Dreamer though and school.
Speaker 5 (03:03:47):
Yeah, take a look at my brand. Yeah that's not bad.
Speaker 3 (03:03:52):
And uh Greg, Now, if you don't care about Super Tramp,
there's zero chances you care about The Turtles.
Speaker 5 (03:03:58):
No.
Speaker 3 (03:03:59):
First of all, anybody names are band the Turtles. Okay, well,
Mark Vahlman, I'd rather hear super Tramp also Flow and
Eddie co founder and singer. I'm happy together, but you
don't seem to care about as a song You've never
mentioned much to you because it has a word happy
in it.
Speaker 8 (03:04:18):
Dead at seventy eight, what is this.
Speaker 5 (03:04:22):
Anytime?
Speaker 7 (03:04:23):
Kind of almost famous nowadays.
Speaker 3 (03:04:26):
Now now super Tramp, they're considered to be one of that.
They're they're held in very higher hamart. And how do
you together?
