Union City, Tennessee's ready and we are too.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Huntsville, Alabama, the Rocket City ready to go.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
A lot of the men that were there last night,
a lot of people who were found Speedy and Greg
briefly in Piedmont, Alabama. Jerry on Tex said, I got
a glimpse of them, but it's hard to get near Royalty.
It's great meeting him. Yes, so we go. We gotta
meet Jerry. So here's the table that is set before us.

(02:33):
Since the last time we were together, a lot has happened.
We'll have an update from the crap run. We'll have
an update from the land of k y t N
Union City, Tennessee, Troy, Tennessee, Martin, Tennessee. Last night, we
also will Speedy. Will we hear from mister Nadmar today.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Hero A tied as you can imagine, fired up, yep,
a little worn out.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
He gave it all he got.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
He had in the family there in there all week.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Good to see him screaming at Pavia off the field, right, Yeah,
and so I could talking a lot. It was. It
was good to see him screaming at him. It was
good to see uh, Johnny Manziel give the Tide fans
two double birds.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yeah, while wearing a Pavia shirt Jersey.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Yes, that was interesting, Yes, that was interesting. What's his
tide to that? I guess he thinks he was a
Pavia first. I think that's you're all over there.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
So yeah, so anyway that I did get I did
see birthday weekend. I got to see all of that
game again. I'm trying, and I love college football. I
just I can't sit through more than one game. Try. Yeah.
So I go to scanning after that, and I just
kind of drop in on things. I tried not to.
I tried. I made a mistake of checking on Missospi

(03:49):
State that I feel like I was mojo these as
soon as I got over there.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
That did something terrible and the rich Yeah, it was
seven to three for the long That was a good game,
and it's a good game, and then and then.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
It just got away.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
He just got away from am So Texas Texas A
and m tough place night, twelfth man.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah, and they hung in there the whole time. Tough,
tough place to play, got a good team, undefeated, let
me tell you, Florida State. So yeah, a bit of
a weird fourth quarter came on in, didn't but you
look at the final score and Miami dominated. They were
like twenty eighty three most of the game and then
they barely at the end. Yeah, I mean, there was

(04:25):
never a threat that they were gonna have to score a
million times. But I'll get Florida State. They kept trying. Yeah,
so they really did, so that that was that was interesting.
Hey Penn State. Wow. Wow, by the way, hey Wow State.
Couple of things too. And a lot of people think
that we got some sort of look we didn't know.
I'm just telling you we've been around this game so

(04:46):
long and watching Texas and frankly arch Manning not solidified,
and Florida's got athletes. Many people are going, my gosh,
y'all told us on the area, watch this game, keep
an eye on that one. And you could just say,
played good defense all year. And plus Napier seems to
save his job at this exact time. True, it takes

(05:07):
him about four games. Really, Napier always saves his job
at this time of year. Texas to me, still is
like a car. It's not quite running right. It's got
a lot of potentially to win the race. Yeah, but
it just yet we ain't got set up. It's just
not hitting on every cylinder. And we thought the combination
of those two things, because let me tell you the
problem you got out there. If you're sputting around a

(05:27):
little bit. Everybody's got players, and Florida is very athletic,
and they got it. And he's had a bad year.
We were like, sooner or later, he's gonna.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Have a good game classic being a missus defense. Okay,
and go classic State. Now they got Florida. Now they
figured it out. That Florida's figured it out. Now we
got to play time and with one Why couldn't we
have played it when they couldn't figure it out?

Speaker 5 (05:51):
Also, okay, we got it.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Come on, I'm.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Certain Billy's got him going fine. I'm certainly not apprude,
and if you've listened to this show, you know that
we're not approved. Probably could be a little more prudish. Okay,
I have not watched much of Game Day. I just
it just hadn't worked out on Saturdays neither. I mean
usually at the farmer's market. But it was my birthday,
so I didn't have to go to the farmer's market.
And I settled in, you know, with with a cup

(06:15):
of coffee and went all right, here it is, I'm
going all in on Game Day.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
I didn't rush how much the custs on that show,
they they they're they're a little edgy on that show.
I mean, there's there's some words I didn't think you
could say anymore? Are you never you still can't say
they they almost said the able s almost as many
times as we do. It was close. They said it
more than I expected. I wasn't expecting Saban to say

(06:42):
the S word and and it just be right on
the ear. I think that's his favorite. Yeah, at least
talk about that ten hornet. I heard s O b,
I heard s O bow, and then I heard a
very off color innuendo from from from McAfee that just
I was like, did he.

Speaker 5 (06:58):
Just say that?

Speaker 3 (07:00):
The addition of McAfee seems to loosened up a little bit.
McAfee's show even says like there's like a disclaimer like
people that we talk like real people talk, and sometimes
we might cuss, Please don't sue us. I don't know
if you've seen that on his regular show. Yeah, so
that kind of tells you.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Yeah, and I thought, but that's his regular show. You
think It still seems weird that THEO Vaughn was brought
in to be the guest picker in Alabama. He was
pretty funny in his pics right home. Literally. I'll tell
you the funny line that people finally start picking up
on when he said that the board you can't hold
last year and gets him because he was playing with

(07:42):
the other coaches players. That's funny.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
Did you see him go to that girl, well, I
see you again? Because she was kind of transitioning to
the next segment. He's like, well, I see you again.
She goes, I hope not. I hope not. That clip
went kind of viral and he responded and he said,
you know, shooters, shoot, what are you gonna do? You try?

Speaker 1 (08:07):
I will throw this out too. Coming in from Tennessee
last night and watching Game Day, guys, I never thought
it would happen. I even had people in the hair
business saying it will never happen. The mullet came back.
It's back. The mullet is back. How about this. The
mullet has solidified itself as a hairstyle again. No one

(08:30):
thought that would happen, but it is back back. I
saw it all over Tennessee last night. I saw it
all over Game Day on Saturday. And it's not just
a little how about this, it's not even little kids anymore.
They're trying to be funny, and the little kids brought
it back. They did, but now their dads are doing
it and that's kind of cool. Yep. I saw guy
last night in Tennessee. I said, I said, Buddy, I said,
I was on the platform in the pulpit and I

(08:53):
looked up in the baccay and saw your bullet blazing,
and see it from this fan had a little curl
to it. I'll tell you this, My hair won't grow anymore.
But if it did and I still had the hair
I used to have, I would have a mullet right now.
I can't physic you could, I physically can't.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
He would be great, you know, I would love it.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I know we've talked about the name of all the mullets.
What would a horseshoe moment be? Because I'm in if.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
The horses. Yeah, but Ben Frank it was the first
scullet and he owned it.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
So the horseshoe thing is called a skull.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Yeah, that's a skull.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Okay, yeah, horseshoe with just a little ball spot in
the back.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Let's see what you understand. My hair won't grow, even
the hair I have, I don't know. I don't have
to get haircut about every six months. Yeah, so we
have I think I think we'll definitely hear it's not
me roar back today, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Oh if he can talk, I wonder if he's got
a voice or if it's.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Yeah, if it's horse, that's a everybody. There's some raality,
there's some tough places to play out. Yeah, so be
back hanging there. So some other things that we will

(10:11):
unpack today. You know a lot of people are are,
you know, wondering if we saw Lee Corso. Greg, I
think you just said it best. You could not have
said the right phrase when when you saw him first
of all, I can tell that Kerb Herb Street. It's
like he's been set Kirk kerk Kirk Herb Street has
been set free. He's been set free. Just makes him nervous,

(10:38):
but but he's been set for he's having fun. It's
like those guys were cutting up without Kirk and now
he's showed back up and they go, oh, you're back, yes, uh,
And he said, yeah, I had to take care of
my dad, you know, he was struggling and so and
I didn't really realize how much they carried him. I
thought I knew until I watched Florida State try to
honor Lee Corso and he could barely even wave. He

(11:01):
couldn't get his hand to do the right thing. And
then Greg said it it's true. Yeah, they've used up
every ounce of Lee Corso. They can't for that show
from all these years up to the very this the
other night. I mean, he could barely and he can't
help it. I mean, I'm not making fun of him
at all, but I'm saying, you got admitted. They squeezed
that tible. There's nothing left now, if one more bit left,

(11:25):
If Lee Corso was an orange, there's no more juice. Okay,
I mean they know you squeezed it. They got every
body out. Let's say we got it happened, then you
retired like twice right then we worked that out, and
then now we got him again. He's gone, and then
we got to bring him back one more time for this.

Speaker 4 (11:40):
I thought it wouldn't feel bad for him, And I
don't mean this to be rude. When he was when
he was waving, it looked like it was a fake arm.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
It did.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
It didn't look like it was attack to Ben, it didn't.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
I thought somebody was like using a fake arm.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
You know when singers use tracks to hide the fact
they can't sing anymore. They had like a fake arm.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
He didn't look like he was like guys as they speed.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
I think there may be something to it. Uh, there's
somebody on his looks like there's somebody on his back,
like working him like a puppet. It looks like somebody's
working on my gun.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
Good night.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
Why does it look like somebody?

Speaker 1 (12:17):
What is Jeff I'm doing?

Speaker 5 (12:19):
There?

Speaker 1 (12:19):
Was he real?

Speaker 5 (12:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (12:21):
He may not have been real? Yeah, that's funny.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Is it?

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Guy on the back is he's Oh god, it does
like the guy's working the lever. I'm not proud.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
I'm not proud of what I saw.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
And and again, man, let's just yeah, most people at
his age, they're not in the public eye. They're just enjoying,
you know. And and he's done well, he.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Has done so much game, so much for the game.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Let's let I think that and that'll do. Let's let
him rest.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Is there any any just any water left in that tiet?
Get a tie? When nothing that it's back to dry? Yeah,
so you didn't squeeze so much water out of his drive?
Yeah it is so. Also, so we'll kind of break down,
you know the weekend. I mean looking out you know

(13:11):
Ohio State. You know they they took care of business
this past weekend.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
And then they get rowed the boat.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
They sure did forty two to three. Does anybody again,
I don't understand whatever happened to PJ. Fleck. I mean
one time it was the hottest name.

Speaker 5 (13:28):
Man.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
He was saying that he's doing bad. I'm just saying
he just doesn't have the I don't know, the excitement
around him that he once had. Yeah, Miami, we talked
about that beat Florida State. Yeah, don't be food by
the score. Yeah, Florida State was twenty eight twenty two.
That's a little I can say the same thing for
the Alabama game. Yeah, that scored is not that game
was closed the whole game. It was Oregon didn't play

(13:52):
Ole miss didn't play Texas A and m beat Missippi State.
But again that also thirty one to nine. They did
what they had to do. But again, Missippi State's improvement
from last year this year. You gotta feel good about
the road they're on. In the coach. They've got Oklahoma,
you know, can't State. We knew that was gonna be
ugly Indiana didn't play. Alabama beats Vanderbilt again. I thought

(14:16):
Vanderbilt once again, even though Alabama did what they needed
to do and had a late score that makes the
score look a little bit worse than it was. But
I thought Vanderbilt was scrappy. I thought they hung in
there and had opportunities. Really, if Pavia doesn't turn the
ball over, yeah a couple of times, and I know
he turns it over hustling, so you you feel a
little bit different. But you remember an I text y'all

(14:37):
when it happened. Course, all y'all could think about was
a crap run. But when when when he when they
needed to keep matching Alabama, you know, they they scored,
Alabama scored, then here they come again, and they fumbled
inside the ten And I said, that's a big that's
a big turnover there because now you've now now you've
let them get on that four tenths and what's yeah,
so that But but Bama played good, they were good.

(14:59):
They got a good team, said.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
Tar Heels didn't do well against class.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
They didn't very embarrassing. That's an ugly team. Adam boy
really looking I get it. It's his first year. But
they supposedly, well, they brought in like seventy five new people.
That don't mean they're all good, no, you know, just
because they brought them in.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Look, I got to go to love it this past summer.
Keep an eye on the Redlas.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Watching Red Raiders, and they they're good.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Their offense is unbelievable. Speaking of spending money, wow, I
mean they're opening about it. Hey, we opened up the
pocket book. Their offense comes out like they're mad, and
they try to score a thousand points as quick as
they possible can. I mean, you'll look up and you're
down twenty one nothing, You're like, hey, we're still stretching.
Yeah yeah, and then you play catch up the rest
of the car because they finally settled down.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
The boy, they try to jump on you quick come out.

Speaker 5 (15:42):
And I did.

Speaker 4 (15:43):
I did see that that that piece on on college
game day.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
I think it is the Houston strength coach.

Speaker 4 (15:48):
I saw that that was pretty a pretty inspiring piece,
and I'm like, oh man, that'd be great man. And
then I checked the score and Texas Tech didn't care
about that.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
They hope that he hasn't beaten answer, but they didn't.
They wouldn't have been to be.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Just no, no, no, what an inspiring story.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
Houston.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Why are y'all dressed as the Owlers?

Speaker 5 (16:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:06):
What was that? Where does Houston get the blue? They
put the Owlers uniform on that That's what it looked like.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
I don't know what it was.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Yeah, because I got to watch and I said, why
are they I mean, I get it, everybody's got a
black uniform and all that, but this is a color
that's not neutral. I thought Warren Moon was gonna get
them filled. Yeh, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Missouri all had
to buy so and Michigan, you know, took care of Wisconsin.
But Wisconsin's getting better, so Notre Dame took care of

(16:36):
Boise State. So Illinois is still playing well.

Speaker 4 (16:40):
Text Nation with a good one, because Greg says, you know,
the meaningless top twenty five polls are the preseason ones. Yeah,
and Texas started the season number one, and Penn State
that started number two, and neither one over in the
top twenty five.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Penn State not in the top twenty five. By the way,
I don't think I've ever seen the Penn State fans
so angry. They're they're they're they're just so tired of
the same routine. Yeah, where where they're where, they're told
that they may have one of the best teams they've
hadn't in a while. Every year, boy, this product has

(17:14):
been a game changer. Rick here to talk to you
about m D hearing. Do you are someone that you
love Are you starting to struggle You're starting to struggle
with your hearing or someone you love is starting to
struggle with their hearing. You know, Dad has has gone
on to heaven, but I remember, you know, when when
he started losing his hearing, we started losing him in

(17:37):
the family. He could participate in the conversations, and you know,
he was such a gregarious personality that was always the
life of the party. And you know, to watch the
inability to hear kind of take that part of his
personality away, it's hard to watch. And that's where m
D Hearing helped. Yeah. Uh, you know, because a lot
of times you think, well, yeah, I would love to

(17:58):
get my parents or my grandparent or myself hearing age.
But if you've seen the prices burge I have, that's
the reason why MD hearing is a game changer. How
about ninety percent less than what the clinic hearing age costs,
over ninety percent less. An E and T surgeon, by
the way, was the one who developed these MD hearing

(18:20):
If you'd like to find out more, the new neo
fits inside your ear, so no one even knows it's there.
They just launched the Neo XS, the smallest hearing aid ever,
recently cut their price in half. That means you can
get high quality, rechargeable digital hearing age for two hundred
and ninety seven dollars a pair. Over two million people

(18:42):
have responded, why don't you get yours now? Go to
shop md hearing dot com. Use the promo code Rick
get a pair of hearing age for two hundred ninety
seven dollars plus they add a free extra charging case.
That's a one hundred dollars value because you're listening to
the Rick Burgess show. That's shop md hearing dot com

(19:04):
promo code Rick get a pair of hearing aids plus
the charging case two hundred and ninety seven dollars.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
Also.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
Dicky and Admire checks in again. We heard from Dickie
a week ago, then on Friday, and then today after
telling us he was done with the tide but he's
back and head and he said he never doubted, he
never left, never doubted. So we'll hear from him. Probably
he was faking it to motivate him. Yeah, and those
of you, we got a huge audience in Missouri. The

(19:39):
Nadmire's likely headed your way. Oh buddy, only that. Oh
here that comes, So we'll talk about that coming up.
So here's what happened in Troy, Tennessee. This was interesting.
So took off after my birthday celebration, flew by a
forty five minute flight to keep your birthday hat on

(20:00):
up to the Kentucky Tennessee line. Okay, so as we're landing,
I didn't think about this. So you've got Union City, Troy,
and Martin, Tennessee, the home of Tennessee Martin and they're
all kind of right there near each other. So when
I land, I meet some really great guys that you know,
are big fans of the show there at the airport
and they're picking me up, part of the security team,

(20:22):
and they said, well, you know what, you know, you
just just missed who landed like right before you. And
I said no. They said, Ty Simpson's mama. HM, the
quarterback at Alabama who's from Martin, Tennessee. And I was like,
oh really, I said that great, And boy, what an
impressive young man. Wow, he's a player.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Yes, he is the real sling can he Boy?

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Great? I mean just he runs the offense, he's athletic,
he can throw. Of course, after week one them tied,
they were wanting to pull him. Right, I'm gonna say,
that's right to it. But now, of course he should
be talked about the Heisman. But anyway, but I thought he.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Even in the game they lost, his numbers were pretty good.
Yeah he's a good player, Yeah, good, great player. So
and stayed in the program, left last year and probably started.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
So I thought to myself, how odd was this? I
was I'm kind of in that world. And of course
I remember, have I I may now have ever talked
to this. I actually played little ball, yes, And when
I played for Troy, I remember I remember having to
do a bus ride because you know, we were Division two.
A bus ride from the bottom of Alabama to the
top of Tennessee. That's a long buster. That's a long one.

(21:26):
That's a long bus. That was the time too that
I got in trouble with chan Gaily because he told
us all that we were to wear ties when we traveled,
and I was a little miserable on the defensive bus
and got got in big trouble because I said I
was hot, and I was told by Coach Gaily and
the staff that I was to keep my town, and

(21:47):
I took my shirt off and kept my towe was
I was sitting shirt specific town. That did not go technically,
guess I got to spend the following week with the
strength and conditioning. But anyway, nobody, nobody thought that was
as funny as I did.

Speaker 3 (22:02):
But anyway, they should have been more specific.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
Right, So anyway, so we're there, we get over to
can I say this the reason why you saw ty
Simpson's mom is that's where ty Simpson's dad's the head coach,
correct Martin at Tennessee Martin, So I guess where they're from.
So that's kind of she was going back home.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
That's correct, going back home, and probably a proud mama
should be a proud mama. So anyway, I was, I
was walking, you know, to the truck. We headed over.
Security team said, look, we're going to go straight in
to you know where we're where we want you to
be relax, go over your notes, be back to get

(22:40):
you for the service. Hey, we've got the afterwards, we
got the books and we got it set up out
there and we're going to tell her about how to
go by so you can meet everybody. So on the
front end, we just need you back here to the
front pew up up on the pulpit when you speak,
back down to us back after where you can meet everybody,
and when we've got a security team set up there.
I'm like, okay. So so I noticed pretty quick. I

(23:04):
didn't really think about it. I noticed that the pastor
comes back to say hello, and he has a name
tag on and it says Rick and then underneath not Burgess. Well,
it's just so hectic at the beginning, I'm not. I thought, haha,
that's funny. So we we go through, you know, yeah,
and I'm thanking him, you know, for for allowing me

(23:25):
that opportunity, because I don't take that lightly. So when
it's when we had a great response from the men,
What a great night of worship. The praising worship guys
were fantastic. We saw a lot of response. I think
all of us as men. It was kind of a
there's a revival building in men right now in our country,
which I think is wonderful, just how God gave us

(23:45):
this strategy back during a pandemic, which was you know,
it was kind of a weird time. And now to
see it, you know, five years later and what's happening
and watching these testimonies just incredible, high challenge, high whipping,
high challenge, high equipping. So anyway, so get ready to
meet everybody. They've got, you know, men don't running the
rain out there. And then some of our thirty one

(24:07):
and forty day devotionals and the men are coming by.
We've got a great organized line. I'm hearing great things
about the show. I'm hearing great things about the Man Church.
There's churches there that are doing Man Church all over
Tennessee and just having a great time. A lot of
orange shirts and hats, a lot of big orange. And
the pastor kind of comes back around and he goes, yeah,

(24:28):
I had an interesting situation before the service today. I
said really, and he said, yeah, that's why I'm wearing
this name thing. And his name is Rick, And he said,
but I put underneath not Burgess. I said, well what happened? Well,
do you remember the email.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
Yeah, the lady that said she was coming out right.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Well, I said there might be a chance that if
you came over before the service, I might be you know,
out there in the lobby or whatever. I didn't know. Well,
apparently she remembered that, probably because I told her that's
probably why. And so one of the guys that's on
staff comes back to the pastor, whose name is Rick,

(25:06):
and says, hey, there's a woman here that wants to
meet with you and talk to you about something. He goes,
you know, being a pastor, he's like, okay, and he
tries to find, you know, one of the women that
are helping, so, you know, just so I'll talk to her. Sure,
And so she comes back there and starts talking to him,
and he realizes pretty quick that she doesn't want to
talk to the pastor. She thinks he's me back to

(25:29):
her calling this right, and so he's like, I realized
pretty quick. I said, I'm sorry, ma'am, I'm not Rick Burgess.
And he was a handsome guy, so I didn't really mind,
you know, I mean, you know, now I've got better
hair than him, but I mean other than that. But
but he he's so he said I've had to put
on my name tag I'm not Rick Burgess, even though

(25:49):
my name is Rick Rick. And so then I felt
back because now I'm speedy, and I'm like, oh, she
came all the way over there. Not only did she
not me, she ends up thinking the pastors me and
creates this awkward moment. So the guys are coming by,
and what a great husband. He comes up to me
and he says, hey, introduce himself, said with my wife

(26:11):
was the one that wanted to meet you, and she
actually tried to come over. I said, I know, I
just talked to the pastor. And he got to laughing
about that. Well the line, thank God, praise God. You know,
credit to all you guys and people you know loving
the show. The line is I can tell by the
length of the line, I'm gonna be here a while.
So I said, well, how far away do you live?
He said two minutes. I said, we'll go get her.

(26:32):
I said, I promise you, I'm going to be here
another hour. And so so they had a small child
who's already gone to bed, so he went to relieve her,
and then she came over and I actually got to
meet her. Oh, so that that so.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
She was everything cleaned up before she got.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
Well, no, this is what would have bothered you that
you can come in. That was gregs I said, Greg,
tell me, Greg told me to tell you where the
dishes are. But no, and I'll hold the dust. This
is what would have bothered you. So there's a big line, okay,
and they've got it super organized this church first Baptist

(27:08):
Troy did a great job. I see her standing back
there up against the wall, and she won't come up
because she doesn't want to be, you know, a biit.
And and so she waits till every single person you're
kidd has gone through and then comes over. And I
mean I kept thinking, somebody get her. She don't have
to do that. Yeah, and but but but she did,

(27:29):
and and the good ones. That's quite the effort, Greg.
And the good news is that she was last year
she could help us clean up.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
But I'm glad you're here.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
We got here. Here's a mom. So I know that
for you, that would have been a tough run. Yeah,
just watching her, you know what I would have done
to what about when I spot I said, that's since
she's the only woman here, that's got to be her. Yeah,
I tell you what I would have done if I
was the pastor, I would have just acted like I
was you. I'd have felt so bad. Yes you know
what I'm saying. I been real vague. Yes, yes, I
really want to. Yeah. By the way, yeah, I didn't

(27:58):
know that that Ty Simpson's dad is the head foot
All coach at U T Martin, So, which has got
to be weird. I mean he's, you know, playing in
this huge game over the weekend and he's coaching.

Speaker 4 (28:07):
And so that would that has to be tough.

Speaker 1 (28:08):
Yeah, well that it's part of it. So, So anyway,
thanks to all of you guys last night in pastor.
I'm sorry about that, but it it went really really well.
And uh thanks for the gifts and I got all
those back to the guys today. And if you're wondering,
you know what's going on next? Uh, you just simply
go to the manchurch dot com. Looks like West Point,

(28:29):
Mississippi your next first Presbyterian, Steve Wright coming to see
you on the eleven So coming up to see you
this Saturday, five point thirty. Uh there in west Point, Mississippi. Uh.
So you guys, get out and enjoy Steve. You'll have
a great time. Dion Sanders, well, Dion struggling. Greg, let

(28:57):
me ask let me ask you this question, because you
have a heart that can tell us. I know Deon
Sanders has serious health issues. We know this is this
latest thing him trying to get out of coach in Colorado.
We can't that's on the table. Well, we didn't see him.

(29:18):
Rick the man had his bladder removed. I know that.
But what I'm saying is, what is he hurting and
having more trouble because of their current it's not helping.
I'll say that if they were, if they were undefeated,
would we be hearing about everything and how bad they
might be hurting as bad you're saying, Well, you know,
winning cures everything. But do you know I mean, and

(29:40):
I know his health situation is serious. Don't don't misunderstand me.
But it's all the same. Well, y'all can't really get
on me because I have him a bladder out, and
when I go to somewhere else, I'm coming coach that
kind of blows that out. Yeah, and I've I've got
I've got part, you know, my limbs getting cut off.
I'm you know, it's it's it's only we yeh can

(30:03):
present this story. And I wish I would say it
was not my first thought, but it was. And because
you know, saying like you said, his sons are gone,
Travis is gone, and he's now he's now realized, my goodness,
I'm just the coach at Colorado now. And and it
was it was a lot of fun for a while.
I got my cowboy hat on. Everybody likes me. Of

(30:26):
course we're not we're not winning, uh, and we were.
We came out, it was electrifying. Everybody was in. We
got prime time and and now we just we can't
quite beat anybody, you know, and we get to watch
them every Saturday night at eight o'clock, you know, right,
like every game is like you know how you if
you ever, you know, you commit to something and you're
all hyped about it and then you're still there. Yeah,

(30:48):
and then then this day after day after day rem
when what a perfect example. We brought it up earlier.
I mean I thought p J. Flegg was just gonna
come on glue getting the coach at Minnesota. I mean,
you would have thought it was a great thing that
we were rolling the boat. So of course still there
and still still not winning. Still, so you're insinuating I'm
not and an Urban Meyer. I got that off the

(31:09):
text line. Yeah, Urban Meyer two one us sweedy. You
don't want you doctor straight up? You know you know
I'm not even get started on Urban. There's no doubt
what that was.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
I rick, he's he's got he's got a quarter a
partty on the sideline and he's limping around. And then
the latest news here that there he's going gonna be
taken in for for more blood clot possibility.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
I'm just saying, all they know how you can fake that? Well, no, no,
all these health issues are real. What I'm saying is
why didn't he just say therefore I can no longer coach? Yeah,
but nowder the.

Speaker 4 (31:41):
Bladder thing was, you know, it was pre season, but
it was before they kind of had already started.

Speaker 1 (31:45):
I understand what we're still suffering them if his health
issues allowed him to coach. I'm just saying that now
that we're gonna the more we lose, the worst the
health's gonna get.

Speaker 4 (31:55):
Yeah, and they got Iowa State next. I think they
lost this past weekend the TCU.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
He's having a walker around on the sideline with like
a sock on. Yeah, one shoe alleah, Okay, look look
look I didn't know where it'll be on that other screen,
not the screen behind you, but you can see he's
got just a sock foot here.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah. Well he's got a lot of trouble.

Speaker 5 (32:17):
Guy.

Speaker 1 (32:17):
I'm not saying he doesn't. They've lost some closeness to it.

Speaker 4 (32:20):
They do you think he's faking it?

Speaker 3 (32:22):
He gave up two toes because he's faking it.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Really No, No, I'm not saying can we get him some
kind of special shoot, he don't have to go sock foot? Right?
Everybody you know got win? Yes, I'd like for everybody
to say, Rick, I'm willing to hear the truth, because
if you are, I'll tell it to you.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
I gotta tell you, I'm only seeing one more win
on his schedule. Really, he's got Iowa State, then Utah,
then Arizona, then West Virginia, then Arizona State in Kansas State.
Kansas State might be his only win. What they're pretty good,
they are can be good. Maybe Arizona.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
I mean, I don't know a whole lot about those programs,
but West Virginia possibly. All right, So here's what I'm saying,
I don't think they're like here, We're not there. They
have there with them at the bottom of them.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
The health issues are real. I'm not saying that what
has to be an opportunity if they do have this problem,
But this is a good opportunity. The health issues. Yeah,
the health issues will give him his ticket out. If
he was winning, the health issues would not be an

(33:28):
obstacle that he can't overcome. It's now going to be
an obstacle that he has to step down because they're
not doing well. If they were winning, the health issues
would be Look, hey man, this ain't gonna stop me.
What we're going to hear now is, look, there's nothing
to can't I can't continue like this? But well, and
to be fair, how about the pressure of how about
the pressure I'm dealing with all these physical problems and

(33:49):
we're not good? You know what I'm saying, Yeah, maybe
just the pressure of that's I feel like crap anyway
being here. I mean, have you ever have you ever
finished it would be worth it if we were winning.
If you ever ever felt you didn't really feel great
but everything you were doing was working, And then I
don't feel great and everything I'm doing is not working.
It's a different not feel great. That's all I'm saying.

(34:11):
I don't think it's a bad look. Of course you're
if you're Colorado. While you went all in on Prime
and now he's real sick. He is.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
They've got to depends. It depends. Sponsored tent on the
sideline there.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Yeah, yeah, so he's faking it, not faking it. I'm
telling you. The losing is making this a difference.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
That you understand what you're saying. Some must like you.
You get hurt or you get tweaked in the game.
If you win, it doesn't hurt as much.

Speaker 1 (34:41):
I get what your Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
Right, the cowboy hat and the sunglasses seems so far away.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Now, yes, you know. And I enjoyed watching him coach,
I did. He's done a good job. Yep. Well, yes,
we love to this point right. That's we're covering this story.

Speaker 4 (35:03):
We haven't read the other.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
I saw the I saw him get interviewed. I actually
watched the interview. The first thing I thought, this is
as why else?

Speaker 4 (35:12):
What what did he say? What was the update on
the blood clots? He said, but we had never mentioned that.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
He said, I'm in a lot of pain, and he said,
for some reason, I'm getting blood clots again. Nobody knows why.
Gotta go check on it. Wow, see, I know I
saw it.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
We finally got got to that as the bed was
rolling to the brain.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
No, I'm just saying, the doctors are going to advise
him to step down.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Yeah, but no with a socker foot, they're going to
step down.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
This is the Rick Burgers Show. There's nothing we got
to talk about. Guys, could you all believe what you
were reading when the Mark sinchiz story started to I
couldn't believe what I was reading. I couldn't believe what
I still don't get it.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
So there was and he the one that's in trouble.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
To me, I thought you somebody attacked Mark Sanchez, but
it sounds to me like he's the aggressor.

Speaker 5 (36:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
So the family of the truck driver that allegedly attacked
Mark Sanchez Okay who who was doing some some broadcasting,
has revealed that he is recovering despite the grewsome photos
of his injuries emerging online. Sanchez, a former NFL quarterback
and Fox TV analyst. Or was that's the butt fumble guy? Yep?

(36:30):
Was rushed by the way the fact that some of
all kind of like you said a minute ago, is
this how we're covering Deon Sanders. Yeah, we're not alone.
I saw a number of people on social media that
used this opportunity to bring the butt fumble back. Okay
anytime now you may just said this and he currently
what he was an analyst, Yeah, Fox analysts.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Yeah, I've got a news package on it, and then
I've got the butt fumble ready to roll.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
Yeah of course, all right, so maybe this will help.
Here here's the news story on it.

Speaker 6 (36:57):
An update on the breaking news we brought you earlier.
Former football star Mark Sanchez has now been arrested and
charged with battery after an incident that left him stabbed
overnight in Indianapolis.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
Police just telling us.

Speaker 6 (37:10):
Sanchez was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of battery
with injury, unlawful injury of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication.
All of those charges misdemeanors. Once again, former NFL quarterback
Mark Sanchez arrested after an incident where he himself was
stabbed overnight. Will be following this story.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
So Sanchez, Sanchez a little tanked not back a few
said Gus he was sounds like he's an angry drunk.
He was arrested by Indianapolis police for a battery with injury.
Unlike we said all he said, all this public intoxication.
Let's he started to fight.

Speaker 4 (37:47):
With the guy and what led to that, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Here's the butt FuMB Okay, back to that.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
So we're gonna do that, yas Indianapolis the offensive.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Court, I'd be gonna bust it.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
Gets hipped guys.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
That was in twenty twenty twelve twenty members covered.

Speaker 1 (38:09):
I did too, so so apparently it was Sanchez that
was the aggressor. And you know you stabbed him to
do you keep him off of it?

Speaker 5 (38:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (38:18):
Do you remember the time you and I were unfortunately
let me time, I guess dab No. We're in a
situation where a guy had to announce to everybody. This
involved a woman that attacked him and she had her fingernails,
she was clawing his face and he finally just hip
tosster and he turned and said I had to get
her off of me, and he had to announce her.
But I'm not trying to hurt her, but I got
to get her off of me. Yeah, I mean it

(38:39):
sounds like this guy had to finally stab Mark. Sanchez said,
I had to get him off of me. M m yeah.
He kept coming after him, right, so there was a fight.
I think the guy said something to him about the
butt FuMB it could have been. Uh, no, one knows.

Speaker 3 (38:55):
Seen the truck driver.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
He's in bad shape. He had to cut all the
way and on his cheek. I think I'll wait to
his ret teeth.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it is uly so.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
This was not just a little scrum.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
This is I have the affidavit. According to the affidavit, Uh,
do you guys want me to read it really quick?
Sanchez accosted a truck driver a hotel loading.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Doc Okay, that's wonder where it was.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
It was at a hotel loading doctors loading stuff. The
confrontation escalated to the point where the truck driver believed
he was in danger, so he sprayed Sanchez in the
face with pepper spray. Sanchez still advancing toward him, and
the truck driver evidently thought this guy is going to
try to kill me. Truck driver pulls out a knife,
Sanchez still coming at him. He said he struck Sanchez
two or three times. The truck driver then said he

(39:41):
was thrown against a dumpster and onto the ground and
then uh, the driver, according to the affidavit, then said
a look of shot came to Sanchez's face and he
took off, and so I guess he kind of realized
what had happened in that moment now.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
His face being cut the truck driver, Yeah, did is
that because he was thrown against something?

Speaker 3 (40:03):
Or did Sanchez have a knife on him to Maybe
Sanchez got the truck driver's knife and stabbed him back.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
O good gracious Sanchez took the place. Yeah, that all
he could remember was grabbing for a window. He said,
I don't even know who stabbed me or where the
incident occurred. He was that drunk. Oh wow, since he
got a little mean. But he's in that dark water.
So yeah, dark water make you mean mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
This truck drivers in bad shape.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
It was Jack Cheek. I think it was Jack. I
don't I think it was Jim Ban do you?

Speaker 5 (40:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (40:36):
So possibly wild Turkey.

Speaker 7 (40:43):
Yeah, okay, by the way, By the way, anybody whoever,
unfortunately had run in with Wild Turkey, if you and
your friends did not gobble, you didn't.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
Really mean you know, you were you had no business,
No business, go get another brand, that's right. Yeah, you're
gonna gobble right. Yeah, but Jim Bean making mean. But
I'm not saying that's what happened.

Speaker 5 (41:11):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Well, but so according to the truck driver, he was
working and Sanchez attacked him. Yep, again, I gotta feel
like the truck driver mass said something about that you
were flopping the NFL. What about the butt fumble? Great,
I don't think so. I think Sanchez didn't like where
he was parked. I think he was confused about his ride.
Guys's trying to deliver something. Yeah, I'm just trying to
deliver couches, right, So so yeah, I didn't probably food

(41:35):
and there So did y'all think, by the way, when
we first saw this story, did we think that at
the end of it, Mark Sanchez would be the aggression
and he's actually the one that's in trouble. When I
first saw the headline, I said, why's somebody? I thought
it might have been a Jets fan. That's not hard.
He never liked you butt fumble like you said all that,

(41:58):
But apparently that's uh, yeah, you're right, by the way, that.

Speaker 4 (42:03):
Was one And look, we had a bizarre weekend of stories.
That was one of the most That was one of
the most are I was like, what is that?

Speaker 3 (42:09):
You know, you got to do something pretty bad to
be the one that goes to the hospital with a
stabbing while being stabbed and then you get arrested and
you remember what happened, right, that's not good y'all?

Speaker 5 (42:22):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (42:23):
Yeah, so many times you think that you know you
quote who are you? By the who?

Speaker 5 (42:29):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
I just remember throwing punches around and preaching from my chair.
That's all I remember. But who are you? Who are you?
Top of the hour? There are a lot of people
were discussing, you know, the Alabama Vanderbilt game, which Dicky
will break down for us. Uh, he was never worried

(42:51):
the igo Pavia Pavier, how you say his name? He
you know, he he's a confident fellow. Someone would say cocky,
this would say confident, hard, nos gutsy player. Granted he's
been playing for seven years. Yeah he's older than most
of them's dad. But but anyway, coming off the field,

(43:16):
you know when you when you when you go out
in the middle of the field and you you you
in front of Brighton, Denny do the running out the
clock in pregame practice. It this, this just builds this people.
People are waiting and already made statements. People are waiting

(43:36):
on you when you lose now because you you you
built this environment. Yes, get ready. You're on the road
and a lot of people did you notice they was
a fan. They were that he got into it with
a fan on the way. Well, this guy, you can
tell him. I don't think this is Dickie. He looks
too normal. His brothers getting a follow right here, so
he's I don't know if.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
I believe it's.

Speaker 1 (44:00):
Right.

Speaker 3 (44:02):
And they got Look they're all waiting on the tunnel,
a lot of you, a lot of going back.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Now that's not Dicky. Yeah, no, that may be him
behind in the yellow shirt, you know, just for a second.
So Paul thought it was so passionate he had to
get up and go down there. He's got you know,
he's got in him. Note, he's got family all in him.
I mean he was just mad yee. So also there's

(44:30):
a couple eight and nine here, I'm sorry, eight and ten.

Speaker 5 (44:37):
Yeh.

Speaker 1 (44:38):
They say t Bow took his shirt off on the
SEC network And that's the one you watch that more
than game day, don't you. Yeah, I go back between them. Yeah,
so what I mean you you're ANSTC guy, you know.

Speaker 8 (44:50):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (44:50):
And that t Bow took his shirt off and picked Florida.
Of course we had picked Florida as well. We told
everybody to watch this game. We just got shirt off
when I picked. Two reasons if you missed it early
this we know that Billy Napier always saves his job.
About this time of the year is a yearly thing.
And we honestly have been watching Texas and feel like
that they not they just don't quite have it together.
Good teams about pre season number one, but they don't

(45:13):
look they look they look very susceptible to what happened.
So so, anyway, so here's t Bow, courtesy of the
SEC network, making his pick and taking his shirt off.
No better, get ready, they're good.

Speaker 3 (45:25):
You're not gonna be able to handle this. You're gonna
get secondhand.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
Sorry, well that's right, Texas.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
Yeah now, but but then, but then I also went
into the swamp yesterday and I hit the gator head.

Speaker 1 (45:40):
Yeah you did, Yeah you did.

Speaker 4 (45:42):
And I walked and I walked out of the tunnel.

Speaker 1 (45:46):
And I was I was reminded guys, only gators get
out alive.

Speaker 5 (45:53):
Oh, you're changing your pick.

Speaker 3 (45:56):
I don't know if I get changed my pick, I
can tell you what it's coming.

Speaker 5 (46:00):
From a little bit. Nobody.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
They don't want to get the breakdown. Okay, he kept sure.

Speaker 4 (46:12):
At least it was a thought.

Speaker 1 (46:14):
I thought.

Speaker 3 (46:16):
He had a tank on it. Okay, it was very
professional wrestling. It was oh yeah, it felt cringey like
professional wrestling.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
Yeah, it was.

Speaker 3 (46:23):
It was fun.

Speaker 1 (46:24):
Adler. Uh, now cut ten, what you're going to do?
The Patriots win? Uh, Stefan Diggs is going crazy. But
but unfortunately that uh, we got a naked teammate in
the background.

Speaker 5 (46:40):
Oh what.

Speaker 1 (46:42):
Is this in the locker room?

Speaker 3 (46:43):
Is in the locker room. Stephan Diggs evidently was the
last one into the locker room, and so the rest
of his the rest of his teams teammates had begun
getting ready to leave.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
Yeah, he was playing his former team.

Speaker 4 (46:56):
There's a big night for him, right, So they win.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
They beat the Bills. Then and we have this this
an Eric throw but first ye yeah, so he's fired
up and and but but unfortunately, as he's wrapping, there's
full blown neked players. Yeah in the background, but that
also also look like they're very excited about the win.

Speaker 5 (47:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (47:22):
Yeah, it's a big wins.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
The free thread. We did eventually get that blue towel on.

Speaker 1 (47:28):
Good little late, a little late, but you know that's
so that's out there and today so uh and then
on nine. So we have a Bills fan that caught
the ball in the stands uh, and you put the
ball in in the jersey and left the game, right.

Speaker 4 (47:44):
I mean he's on the front row and Josh Allen
threw the ball, he caught it and then took.

Speaker 3 (47:48):
Off, and the call on it was pretty great.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
Check it out. The catches it catch.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
He's gone, Miltto, Milano's gonna go.

Speaker 1 (48:03):
He's in row ten fifteen. He might get a beer.

Speaker 5 (48:07):
Where you're going, man, at your moment, melanover a forty
led by Allen.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
He's gonna take it the distance. So the guy just
as soon as he gets them all, he just leaves. Yeah,
I guess he leaves.

Speaker 5 (48:18):
He get it.

Speaker 3 (48:19):
I wanted the ball, so I guess the NFL you
have to give the ball back and they'll they'll get
it from you. I didn't know that was really a thing.
I didn't know you had to run out like that
because he put it in his jersey, under his shirt
and it just hits the stands gets at it, right,
that was so odd. Of Course the camera, the TV
camera followed him up the stands as well, so the

(48:40):
whole thing was odd.

Speaker 5 (48:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (48:42):
And then I kept seeing this over the weekend on sixteen,
that that Kyler Murray surely the snap that hit him
in the head, that that's not what got him the
concussion protocol, right.

Speaker 3 (48:53):
I mean, I was hoping y'all could fill me up
on I.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
Think everybody's just goofing off saying is this when it happened?
Because he took a snap, I mean right to the head.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
And did he did he take a big hit before this?
Because the ball hits him in the face. Here he
is walking off the field, walking into the tunnel. This
is boom right there, and he acts stunned and he
acts wobbly and he can't he did he can't dive
on the ball.

Speaker 1 (49:16):
But wasn't. Surely he was wobbly from the play before,
and that's why he couldn't catch the snap.

Speaker 4 (49:22):
Yeah, because it could be the whiplash, not necessarily ball
hitting it, but the whiplash kind of missed him up
a little bit.

Speaker 1 (49:28):
That's a I mean a snap, he's not.

Speaker 4 (49:32):
And the Pavia thing and that guy apparently it goes
back to the pre game when he was standing there
grabbing his critch towards the student section, but there were
kids everywhere, and that guy's kids were on the front
row and he was like, hey, what are you doing?
And he said that's when he said I'll do whatever
I want.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
Yeah, so that's what That's what the guy was upset about, saying,
what you didn't do is win, dire you go top
of the hour.

Speaker 4 (50:00):
Hm. Oh, let's see if he uh, Dicky, are you there, bud?

Speaker 5 (50:17):
Oh boy?

Speaker 1 (50:17):
Hello? Oh there he is still party.

Speaker 5 (50:23):
Where the party is continuing Intee Town as we make
our way tohead next to Missouri to ruin. Everybody's a
defeated season.

Speaker 1 (50:30):
Oh boy, Dicky admire what a wake tide. He sounds happy.
I know he sounds tired, is what he sounds?

Speaker 5 (50:40):
Well, we we we stayed there outside for the Phillis
and I know there was one awkward moment that happened
to both game this last weekend and yeah, well Phyllis
realized that Pavier's mother and her both had the same
halter touffle roadside. Women hate that.

Speaker 1 (51:01):
Yeah, they don't like to ward the same with somebody.

Speaker 5 (51:04):
He looked at me and said, well she wore the
same alter tom without. Well, their little boy, it's a
classy little act. Little boy.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
I heard you had some confrontations there were you involved
in any of that?

Speaker 5 (51:17):
Well, as I was standing near screaming at him, calling
him all your little leper cuts and things of that nature,
he a little pity feller. Well, she I gotta go.
I'm a little bit cocky. I'm coming in the brighton.
Do you need right in the car. I'm gonna grab that.
I'm gonna hold my little teepee in front of everybody.

Speaker 1 (51:35):
To the whole crowd.

Speaker 4 (51:37):
Road tight, Oh, Dicky Nadmire, Yeah, I said.

Speaker 5 (51:41):
Well he could never he could never be big out.
There's not much of there, all.

Speaker 4 (51:49):
Right, Dick, You we got to start from Saturday morning
and you take us through the whole Dame Day experience.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
Were you around or what happened?

Speaker 5 (51:58):
Well? Well, first of all, had an outstanding time drinking
wild turkey with THEO bond.

Speaker 1 (52:05):
Bonding.

Speaker 5 (52:07):
THEO came over to the n Admire tailgate and we
we we partied like it was nineteen ninety nine, and
that had a great time. Loved THEO. I could tell
he was a bit hungover, as was I, but but
we would What do they call it, h Adler? I
have to ask that young little fellow up there, who

(52:27):
the only man on the team hollered them Pavier, right Adler? Yeah?
Is it called getting turnt? Yes?

Speaker 4 (52:38):
Yeah, you can.

Speaker 3 (52:39):
You can call it that if you want.

Speaker 5 (52:42):
We all got turned. Where are my friends are saying that? Everybody?
I didn't know what they were saying. So we did that,
of course, and of course I said a few things
about herb Street doggie that security didn't care for.

Speaker 3 (53:01):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (53:02):
But we were there for the for the big for
the big day, for the big road Tide went over
to Saban's statue. Don't know who that is, but they
say it Saban statue. Essentially, you know when you go
over to Saman's statue, I mean you respect him because
all he's done. The don'll never be another Saban. But
you go to the statue and you thank you. So
I think that guy helped ment Lows once road Time.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
Road Tagh, Well.

Speaker 5 (53:32):
Well, well there was. So we started early. We were
there for game day. We enjoyed that. I thought it
was nice of Kirk kurb Street to apparently give three
hundred thousand dollars if somebody that couldn't kick, Yeah, it.

Speaker 1 (53:44):
Didn't make them earning now didn't and that was uh,
just draw names and give the money out.

Speaker 5 (53:50):
Yeah, I mean, well we might as well just give
the young lady. I don't know many disrespect God love
her now she's now she clearly she clearly didn't miss breatha.

Speaker 4 (54:00):
Okay boy, all right, now it did look like an
onside kick.

Speaker 5 (54:04):
Did she kicked? Well, she well, she she wanted to
have the experience. But what I would have said, this,
here's an experience you can't kick, so you don't get
any money.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Yeah, bro, it's got a bad experience.

Speaker 5 (54:14):
And I thought they might let mcafe at least kick
it on the behalf, but herb Street threw it through.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
Uhh.

Speaker 5 (54:19):
I thought that. I thought that was weird. So we
moved that said some things and got us in trouble.
And but you know, we had we had a big day,
had little Nikky with us, her noder and of course
we had little little Nicky. Do you know the two
oldest boys couldn't couldn't be with us, And I thought
to myself and I told little nicky do, I said, now,
your brother Peter's not here with us because he's got
to talk to this borough officer this weekend. So if

(54:41):
you get a good camera shot, it's gonna have to
be you to shoot the bird. Boy, it's all on you.

Speaker 1 (54:49):
Is his first time I met.

Speaker 5 (54:51):
Well, we kind of put it on a little vandy,
didn't we. Yeah, we kind of put it on a
little vandy. We we kind of ruined their little season.
Nobody anchoring down this year? Last year was a sloke.

Speaker 1 (55:02):
Well, you know, to be honest, you got a many.
I mean the score didn't indicate it's a pretty close game.

Speaker 5 (55:07):
Right now, what game were you watching? You said this?
I congratulations to you, Gregory. I see that open beat
by this week? Who did y'all meet? As I stand
for Brigham Young Elementary BRU.

Speaker 4 (55:26):
Now, during the game, did you see Johnny Manziela?

Speaker 5 (55:29):
Was he?

Speaker 1 (55:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (55:29):
Are you the one he was flipping off?

Speaker 1 (55:32):
No?

Speaker 5 (55:32):
I flipped off Johnny manziel He was responding to my birth.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
So they got it backwards.

Speaker 5 (55:41):
I kept screaming out that the bong could beat him up.
Bonded I thought my best line of the day, and
I had some good one, but I thought my best
line of the day too, And I said it to
the little Johnny Manny. You know, should he be in jail,
I said, I said, Johnny Manny, tell all the poise,
this is so bad. The old Vaughn to go right

(56:01):
home with us, bro tag with us. THEO is in
the r B hanging out with Phyllis and the gang.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
That's it. Uh huh Yeah, I like with the ol
Vonn say. He fit right in with you.

Speaker 5 (56:15):
He's one of us, really is.

Speaker 1 (56:18):
He was pulling for Bama. He couldn't say it.

Speaker 5 (56:20):
It just feels so good to be a Bama fan
right now, it does. You know I never doubted the
team this year and the boy the boys doing the
heck a job. Uh Dad, you got us headed in
the right direction, and I always thought that was a
good hire.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
I did you really, So everything you said after week one,
ignore that is that what we're saying.

Speaker 5 (56:43):
What I was emotional.

Speaker 4 (56:46):
Let your emotions get to you the life of the
life of the sec though it doesn't stop. Now you
headed to undefeated Missouri.

Speaker 5 (56:54):
You know we kicked You know what I love about
going up to Missouri. I like going on to O
and coming in and being a dream crusher, or we
Missouri will show me, show me. Let me tell you.
I know it's to show me state. We're gonna show
you how what it looks like to get your buck kicked.
Show you that, show me, Wow, Phyllis, Phyllis is gonna

(57:18):
go with a different halter top, and we may do
another verse to show me and kind of show those
fans what it's all about. Show me. We'll show you
road Tide.

Speaker 1 (57:27):
They always confident, confident?

Speaker 5 (57:29):
Now wow, Well let me just tell you this. If
we don't beat Missouri, I mean I can almost guarantee
then we're gonna beat Missouri. So they gonna they're gonna
they're gonna tackle our big boy on short yardage.

Speaker 1 (57:44):
Oh how you like him?

Speaker 5 (57:45):
They're gonna tackle our three hundred and sixty.

Speaker 4 (57:48):
Pound run him back guy, sound.

Speaker 5 (57:53):
Six foot seven, three hundred and six to coming downhill
like a pack of dirm road tide.

Speaker 4 (58:00):
That's yeah, he's a mess. I don't know where you
start to try to tackle him.

Speaker 5 (58:03):
Well, what I want to ask you guys a question?
What happened a little Texis? Oh?

Speaker 1 (58:08):
Yeah, the pre season now we're out of the top
twenty five.

Speaker 5 (58:12):
A little arch man and got let hiboy down. These
who would have thought that arch man and couldn't play
at the highest level he was. Did you see the
little fat kids that were running up to him? And
he played played high school? Have you have you seen
the footage we have?

Speaker 1 (58:29):
We've all seen that it's been out there.

Speaker 5 (58:31):
That's sure not exactly the SEC player when you agree.

Speaker 1 (58:34):
With them, not at all. No, we're in a little
different level now.

Speaker 5 (58:39):
Yeah, let suck that look like the little fat kid
that you know comes in every time and and that's
where's the next launch?

Speaker 1 (58:48):
It hurts his ears when he takes his helminof Yeah,
Texas overrated. Yeah, yeah they were.

Speaker 4 (58:54):
Hey, I think we we called that as a show
here dick out if you heard that, Yeah, well.

Speaker 5 (58:59):
Let me over the Missouri. Then ad Myers lit up
and we hit it.

Speaker 1 (59:03):
Your I was gonna ask you where you are?

Speaker 4 (59:05):
Okay, so you're you're gonna be hitting Uh, you're gonna
be hitting campus.

Speaker 5 (59:09):
What time?

Speaker 4 (59:09):
Maybe Thursday?

Speaker 5 (59:11):
Probably you gotta get to for Thursday because o'clock start.
So oh yeah, yeah, the adres will be wide open.
All right, we'll be ready to go baby.

Speaker 4 (59:20):
All right, Well, hey, maybe we'll check in with you again.
Good luck, be safe.

Speaker 5 (59:24):
Hey, Missouri, we're coping to show you broad dad.

Speaker 1 (59:35):
And you know, maybe they need to go with some
something cleaner like the new Taylor Swift album. Wow Wow
some of the lyrics and then wow. It always starts
out as something innocent and fun, doesn't it, And then
all of a sudden before you know it. Of course,
as Greg said, when you make a deal with the devil,
eventually he wants you to do these guys, you're you

(59:55):
You're concerned about that one, aren't you. As far as
those that made it a deal with the devil.

Speaker 3 (59:59):
How disappoint to look more like it?

Speaker 5 (01:00:01):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
Like I brought it up before on the show, a
lot of things have happened since the time my daughter
saw her at Sax High School and Jim May's in performing.
She had one song out yep, got her picture made.
Whether my daughter was probably fourteen at the time, I think, uh, long, long,
First of all, a lot of success, but you look
at that image. I'm I'm a little singer songwriter. Look

(01:00:23):
at me. I'm cute to the latest one. When I
read the lyrics the other day that she wrote to
her boyfriend, Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
It's not good guys.

Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
Wow, wow, a little different song.

Speaker 4 (01:00:33):
Are you trying?

Speaker 1 (01:00:33):
Are you trying to say? I know that she got
out from you know, on her own way. Did Greg
just say that in Calhoun County he not only discovered
Riley Green, he also discovered Taylor Swift in a way,
in a way, I think that just happened. No, no,
that's not true. Greg, the Calhoun County talent scout. I
just came amazed that she was actually playing in Cahun County. Yes,

(01:00:54):
of course, here's many mean. I think when she had
that one song at Tim McGraw's song well, and we
talked about this a little little bit on strange encounters.
And again I'm I'm not saying that, I'm just we
did talk about but no, no, but we did talk
about this. Or I think there is a point here though.
You know, if you decide that you're going to be
godless or your own version of God like you have

(01:01:16):
to be God's pr agent. You'll decide how he should
behave and what he actually says or doesn't it say.
But wow, But anyway, so you when we at the
end of the day, if you go back to the
fall of all mankind. We talked about this yesterday at church.
If you go back to the what did what did
Satan sell everybody on? You can't trust him? You're gonna

(01:01:39):
let him decide what's wrong or right? Tell about God?
Why don't you decide that for yourself? Now that was
the arrangement. You have everything you need. You get to
fellowship with me, the one and only living God. I've
breathed my life into your into your lungs, and created you,
and we can live in harmony with everything provided is

(01:02:00):
you just have to trust me to decide what's right
and wrong that I look after your own good. And
Satan came and say if he can't be trusted with that,
he's trying to withhold that decision from you. You should
decide what's right and wrong. And of course humanity bought
in and and you know I'm simplifying it, but that
is the bottom line. And so that is our struggle.

(01:02:21):
We want to be in charge. We don't want him
to be in charge. We want to decide what we
do and don't do. And we'll go as far as
even decide who he can be or not be, will
be his public relations campaign. He can't say the things
he says about certain things because it seems mean, seems
like that's not what we want. But so what you

(01:02:42):
see is id greg is your point is someone like
Taylor Swift, they become huge, really being family, being huge audience.
Mamas wanted to take their little girls to go see her,
and then all of a sudden, that's not good enough anymore.
But I don't understand when when when artists want to

(01:03:03):
make this transition you, Miley Cyrus, is you Taylor Swifts?
They want to make this your Britney spears. They want
to make this transition. I don't want to be treated
like a little girl anymore. Why do we think that
you're a woman if you start being nasty? That's not
what I get. Why at the age you're not going
to want to be treated like but when you were fourteen, right,

(01:03:24):
you would almost do the opposite. Say, one way to
stop acting like a child is they act more like
children when they are out there trying to be women
and be independent. They act like they have no maturity whatsoever.
They're not making mature. They start acting like they're, you know,
little kids who just learned how to say bad words
and dress like a dress like a tramp, and and

(01:03:47):
and begin that actually seems less like a mature woman
and more like an immature female.

Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
So I you just nailed it right there, without even
listening to the new album.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
I am.

Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
I'm pretty close to a person that has been a
big fan, Yes, that has been a big fan for
a long time. Yeah, and you that's exactly what she said, Rick,
But I didn't even know that. It's like she's a
kid that just learned how to cuss. Yeah, And it
just feels weird and forced and odd. And you know,
I think Taylor Swift probably heard a lot of the complaints.

(01:04:25):
She's thirty five years old and she's been writing kind
of break high school breakup songs and she's in her
mid thirties. Yeah, I get that, and I think that
there's a fair criticism there. And I think that she
heard some of that and said, Okay, well then I
can and instead of going more mature and viewing your
relationships in a more mature way, unfortunately, she's taken a

(01:04:49):
step in another direction.

Speaker 5 (01:04:50):
And it is. It is.

Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
It's a choice, and I am sad about it, honestly.

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
For a lot of little girls.

Speaker 3 (01:04:58):
There are so many tiny little girls that just idolize her,
and it's just like it's she's done now and for them, and.

Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
So influential, Yes, so influential.

Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
I had high hopes for this, honestly, for her to
kind of maybe mature a little bit, getting getting a
steady relationship and be a good example for all the
girls that idolize her. And it doesn't look that is
look like that's that was your dream.

Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
It was dream, but you made the point. You can
grow up and do more adult themes. That doesn't equal
be nasty, right, Like you said, talk about looking for
a husband versus a boyfriend, you know, I mean talk
about that, talk about whatever I mean, way in on
you know, important things. But this almost comes across, like

(01:05:47):
you say, it's kind of silly, Yeah, kind of kind
of embarrassing a little bit. Look at me, I'm gonna
be bad, yeah, right, And we've seen them all do that,
and it's just embarrassing, and.

Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
Especially with her super her pretty clean background, I should say.

Speaker 1 (01:06:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
And there there are struggles in life, different in different
periods of your life. There's you're always gonna have struggles, right.

Speaker 1 (01:06:08):
About that, right, you know, walk about the most famous
person in the world that comes with a lot of them.
You got all kinds of things about it, and those
could be some incredible lyrics. And she's kind of dabbling that,
I think a few times, but you could do it
at as a much more mature level. I don't know.
And so that does make me wonder sometimes because if

(01:06:28):
I'm now, I've made it, so I can do whatever
I want. And then you start doing things that looks
like things that young people do to try to make it,
now you're doing them after you made it, So it
makes you kind of wonder who they answer to, because
as soon as the platform is as big as it
can possibly be, we go nasty.

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
And the more I see if Travis Kelcey on the
sidelines having these run ins with his coach and things
like that, he doesn't seem very mature either, And that
that's that when you have two immature people trying to
be in a relationship together, that that's that's tough.

Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
Interesting, that's very hard.

Speaker 4 (01:07:04):
And I was unaware that she had a movie out
until I was doing a movie.

Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
Well, no, it's it was.

Speaker 4 (01:07:12):
It was a movie kind of showcasing her new album
H and Everything and behind the scenes.

Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
Oh, kind of like when Kanye used to walk around
in the similar any record play through similar watch him
listen to. I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (01:07:25):
I just know it hit theaters and it was like
it grossed like thirty three million dollars, and I was
unaware of just doing show prep. I was looking and
I asked Adler about it.

Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
I was like, what is this? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:07:36):
It was?

Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
Is it like a promotional movie for the new album?
Bottom line?

Speaker 3 (01:07:40):
It almost been like almost like a listening party movie
kind of it is, And it's like, yeah, it really is.
And there I think just lyric videos, meaning like the
words show up on the screen. I think one music
that we did premiere, but again from people who have
been following this very closely that I'm close two. Uh,

(01:08:01):
it just seems like there's it just seems like money
grab after money grab after money grab, which is odd
because she doesn't really need money.

Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
So the person that you know, yes, are they done,
They're they're done, They're really So she's lost that person
as a as a fan, yes, wow, okay, yeah, so
whoever that is, right? Who who whoever that person is?
All Right, we come back. We got more to cover today.
We'll get another unscreen phone calls in before we're done today.

(01:08:30):
But we have other things to cover. So there there's
that update. And so we've we've got a bunny mad
now and we've got Swift being nasty. It's just a
couple of things in the in the world. Uh, that

(01:08:51):
is political we we we have from from President Trump.
You know, we got a government shutdown. Guys, you don't
know them. We got there's a government shutdown on them.
You may not know this. Trump says to the troops
that every last penny coming to them despite the ongoing
government shutdown. He said, I want you to know that
despite all the current Democrat induced shutdown, we will get

(01:09:15):
our service members every last penny. Don't worry about it.
It's all coming to you. So so Trump also was
there when a Navy f A eighteen breaks the sound
barrier right in front of Trump and he doesn't name flinch.
So here is that footage.

Speaker 3 (01:09:37):
It's amazing. He's right on the deck of the we
can't hear you, all right, he's right on the deck
of the aircraft carry It's really amazing to.

Speaker 1 (01:09:50):
There, it goes.

Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
Would y'all like to be there?

Speaker 1 (01:09:57):
Yes, that would be cool. That would be cool, That
would be cool. Uh next, guys, I know, guys, Kamala Harris,
is she all right? I don't think we've been asking
that for a while.

Speaker 3 (01:10:12):
You know, when you lose a presidential election, you gotta
do something wild, Like al Gore grew the beard and.

Speaker 1 (01:10:17):
Remember it made him crazy. He was he was crazy
and he was I'm a man dancing and it looked
like Snoopy it Charlie Brown's party.

Speaker 4 (01:10:25):
He hid his craziness when he was running, but he lost.
It's like he didn't care anymore.

Speaker 1 (01:10:30):
Like I'm crazy. You heard from and you think Kamala
is in the same boat.

Speaker 8 (01:10:34):
I do.

Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Yeah, she's You can tell this is so prepared. Also,
I don't know where she's speaking. She's speaking from some
audience here, and she's going to bring that line out
again talking about how it was the closest presidential racing
history or twenty first it was blowout, absolutely blowout. And
here's the other thing that is quite unprecedented.

Speaker 4 (01:10:53):
And I'll standing up the tightest closest.

Speaker 3 (01:11:14):
You got, girl?

Speaker 1 (01:11:16):
What an election? Was she looking? What guys in the
what in the world? Seriously? Huh? Yeah, they said Diego
Pavier has a very similar speech today. The game was
actually very close.

Speaker 5 (01:11:28):
It was not right.

Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
So what are you talking?

Speaker 5 (01:11:32):
What do we am?

Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
I not remembering it right now, she's I mean, yeah,
it was not a mandate. You're you're a delusion. This
is back to this fake world they create, and thing
was over from the get go. And I guess if
you're some leftist that was so far into the left,
you actually voted for Kamala Harris. Are you in some

(01:11:54):
Kamala Harris echo chamber where you now are starting to
believe that your your candidate almost won. Somebody helped me
with this. Yeah, it's definitely rewriting history because I remember
like going there was never doubt. I think I can
go to bed now. There's no need of his stay up.

Speaker 4 (01:12:12):
I mean, I'm sitting here looking the electoral vote account. Uh,
Donald J. Trump three hundred and twelve, Kamala to twenty six.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
Okay, that that's not closed.

Speaker 5 (01:12:25):
Got her.

Speaker 3 (01:12:26):
That's also he won the popular vote. Also, he won
every swing state, every single swing every single one.

Speaker 1 (01:12:31):
Ye one of them. Yeah, everybody. They didn't have the
popular you know the first time. This time they did,
so they couldn't use it. Even Democrat strategists you know
that are at least mentally stable. What did they all say, Hey,
we better, we better change how we're doing things. This
is a mandate. Yeah, but I guess she doesn't. This
is not where where's she who would go and hear

(01:12:55):
her speak? Where is she speaking? What is this? Probably
got a pretty good check. Is she the open for
bad bunny?

Speaker 5 (01:13:01):
What is it?

Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
How scripted that was for her to stand up and
say it? When the way that she said it, because
she throws in an and in there that does not
even doesn't even fit. Can we watch it again? Yeah,
here's the other thing. And I'm just quite unprecedented.

Speaker 7 (01:13:19):
And gosh, it was the tightest closest.

Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
Credit Where are you going to not? It ain't the
White House? No, I know.

Speaker 4 (01:13:43):
Trump got over seventy seven million votes.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
M hmmm.

Speaker 5 (01:13:49):
And and so is she.

Speaker 1 (01:13:53):
Okay, so she's closest twenty first cent.

Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
End she's sitting in the twenty first century because it's
sounds just from like two thousand and one on right,
everybody knows that it's been what ma'am Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
I'll give her that. The last year of the twentieth century,
it was Gore Bush and it went down to Chad's
and it was real.

Speaker 4 (01:14:22):
Cololrump, you say, and Adler to your point about it
being scripted, it wasn't a word salad like a texture
is saying, so we know it was scripted.

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
It's a mem word salad. Final political update, at least
for right now. CNN is sad that there may be
a Gaza ceasefire because Trump will get credit for it,
and and the ceasefire has made them sad.

Speaker 3 (01:14:44):
So yeah, just the fact that Trump may get credit
for it. They can't even say it. No, and if
President Trump is able to do this, this is a
major it's a major victory for him.

Speaker 8 (01:14:56):
Look, it is challenging to actually hear that piece of
you know, Trump being potentially being the one to get
the ceasefire deal. But I think where we are, what
we are seeing now is that a lot of people
are tired of the devastation that's happening to the Palestinian people,
and so how do we figure out a way a
path forward?

Speaker 1 (01:15:16):
Yes, yes, it's okay.

Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
I love what's going out.

Speaker 1 (01:15:22):
It's okay if we you know, if Trump you negotiates
a ceasefire, y'all, y'all can be okay. With that. Yes,
it's all right, some things can be bipartisan. It's okay.
Nobody has to cry, nobody has to have a come apart.
Top of the hour, Thanks for being with us. This
is the Rick Burgess Show. This is you know, my

(01:15:48):
our friends who love the show. In Arkansas. I've got
a buddy that keeps showing me on his game camera
more and more bears.

Speaker 4 (01:15:57):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
And now we have a story. Man dies and likely
bear attack at Arkansas campsite days after sending photos of
the animal to the family. He's a Missouri man, but
he was in Arkansas. How about this if we knew that,
like the game cameras were looking at right now getting
ready for tellus from the camp house this year, and
we're all jacked, We're ready to go, got our you know,

(01:16:20):
camp house shirts, and we can't wait. And all of
a sudden I send y'all, like I send them deer
when I see good deer. I sent it out to
the guys. What if all of a sudden, I said, hey, guys,
and I started sending you pictures of a bear, would
that change your approach going in and out of the woods. Yeah, yeah,
it would would it would change it? Would because I
know he's there.

Speaker 3 (01:16:38):
Yeah, maybe i'd bring less snacks.

Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Yes, Unfortunately, throw the snacks and maybe he'll go to them. Unfortunately,
he was found dead they think a little like from
a bear attack, only two days after he sent his
family photos of the bear. Anyboddy, you had fair one,
your year old? His body was several hundred yards from

(01:17:04):
the camp site. I had been drugged dragging. Extensive injuries
to the body. I'll leave it at the m hm.
I bet he had food around. He's coming in and
get it. How about when they when they wered it
this way? Extensive injuries consistent with those expected from a

(01:17:25):
large carnivore attack. Oh, well, you remember the guy who
did the documentary Living with the Bears? Yes? I do?
You remember his final entry? Don't you? Do you remember
his final entry, A new bear has arrived. Have you
ever watched that bit?

Speaker 8 (01:17:39):
That?

Speaker 1 (01:17:39):
Yeah, that guy's a weird though.

Speaker 3 (01:17:41):
And what was it like bear man or something?

Speaker 5 (01:17:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:17:44):
How about the footage of the end?

Speaker 5 (01:17:46):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
I know, and you can hear the audio his girlfriend?
What a bad time to show up. M No, he
was he would do just he was, he was off his.

Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
He'd be from here to the.

Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
Talking about him, and of course they killed him. He
was just are animals. Yeah, hey, Griz, don't hang out.
You have a sure enough RV. Yeah you have a
good one. Also, not a great story here either. But
Baylen Miller twenty three, Alaskan mountain climber. The problem with
so much documentation now is that now people can document

(01:18:21):
their falls and and like we heard in that other case,
a bear eating you. None of us want that, no Ray,
But here is someone who was Triander seven down.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
So this Baylen Miller kid is twenty three years old.
He's an Alaskan mountain climber, so very experienced, skilled, and
people call him the orange tent climber because he's always
got his orange tent with him and he'll put her
on the sides of the mountains as he's as he's
oe scaling up these things.

Speaker 1 (01:18:51):
I don't know what about when they sleeping and hanging
off the side.

Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
That's what I'm talking about. Yes, it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
He's dead.

Speaker 3 (01:18:56):
And the the person that was streaming is actually actually
just a fan of mountain climbing and national parks, and
so this person sets up cameras all the time and
will live stream these mountain climbers, and y'all this this
Baylon Miller, twenty three year old, actually got to the top.

(01:19:18):
Wo so got to the top of El Capitan. There's
evidently like a staging area where you can kind of
lock in or get out of your harnesses and things
like that. Evidently there was a bag that was stuck
lower down, farther down, so Baylon Miller is going back
down to get that bag unstuck. There's another person you

(01:19:38):
can see, here's Baylon Miller at the top. This video
is being filmed from the ground with like a like
wat a major scope, but Baylon Miller is the one
up top, and Baylon Miller is gonna be going back
for a stuck bag. Well, and oh, I've got music rolling,
but you can there's there's no audio of the actual climb,
but it looks like Baylan was just acted or something,

(01:20:01):
because he repelled past the bottom of his rope and
you're going to see him fall right here. And that's that.
Y'all ran out of rope?

Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
Is there not like a stop on the right right?

Speaker 3 (01:20:12):
You would think so, But I think you got to
run it through things so much that you can't have
a stop on there.

Speaker 1 (01:20:16):
Wow, but you as a guy full of experience and
talent and all that, he's still everybody mess up.

Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
Yeah right, we've talked about it before. We can't have
a hobby like this because if you, you know, if
you if you mess one thing up, that can be it.
And and he unfortunately felt the entire distance of El Capitan.

Speaker 1 (01:20:38):
But I mean the guy with that experience, you know,
way he goes and if he follows, it's got to
be something breaks or something. But just to go by
the end of the rope to your point, he was in.
He was just in a in a hurry, I guess,
and you just stopped thinking.

Speaker 3 (01:20:52):
Thought he was done. Kind of thing, you know, and
witness describes it. This guy that streams this stuff is
Mountain Scaling dot m E. His name is Eric and
he he was just streaming it because he's very interested
in this stuff. There's people that do this with surfing,
like they'll just set up a camera.

Speaker 1 (01:21:12):
And him in the water.

Speaker 3 (01:21:14):
Yeah, so that is very sad.

Speaker 4 (01:21:18):
Was he streaming so he was streaming live when that happened.

Speaker 3 (01:21:20):
People, he said about one hundred people were watching live
and now it's obviously gone viral and much more people.

Speaker 1 (01:21:28):
Also adding to this for those of you that may
be thinking about climbing a blizzard traps hundreds on Mount
Everest as rescue teams race to save lives. Massive and
sudden blizzard on Mount Everest the Tibetan slopes trapped nearly
a thousand hikers. This thing with you ever seen when

(01:21:49):
it shows a footage of how many people are lined
up at one kind of ruins it.

Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
Yeah, it's ruined.

Speaker 1 (01:21:54):
Yeah, I mean it really is. With three hundred and
fifty have reached safety, but the rest not. And they
did not expect this storm. It kind of came out
of nowhere. So that's when people get their nose froze
off and stuff like that. Yes, you're right, So somebody
is saying to add or to check on the other
was was the tandem came loose? Yeah? Or do you say?

(01:22:17):
It looks more like he ran out of rope.

Speaker 3 (01:22:18):
According to this guy that films a bunch of this stuff,
Baylon Miller was going back down to get to unstuck
a bag that they were trying to get to the top,
and he just repelled past the end of the end
of his rope.

Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
The warld I thought he had more rope. Well, those
those things. You know, when you do something, you do
it so well and you're so confident. Sometimes it's always
these just simple things because it's become so routine for you.
And you know, when it comes to life and death,
it can never become routine.

Speaker 3 (01:22:49):
You can't lose the fear.

Speaker 1 (01:22:50):
Yeah, and I'm quoting the conversation I had with the
pilot last night, and he said the same thing. You know,
it's like, yes, you know this, you gotta you gotta
every time you got to pretend like you you know,
you got you gotta do that checklist, that checklist, gotta
be there well and look it.

Speaker 4 (01:23:06):
There's been lots of folks that unfortunately have fallen when
climbing to the Yeah, but one that just jumps out
of me was it was an expert and he just
got lazy because he does it so much. That's what
in his mind. He just was like, Okay, this is
just another day, and you get careless because it's so
easy to you.

Speaker 1 (01:23:25):
Yep, that's so that's it.

Speaker 5 (01:23:27):
So there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:23:29):
And they're saying that the thing that we're talking about,
the tandem was actually another They said it was a
skydiving incident. Okay. So there that got trapped in between
a couple of different texts. I think that was in Nashville. Yeah,
they're saying it was in Nashville. It was a thing
like you did, and the person came loose and they
have no pacuit.

Speaker 5 (01:23:47):
What wow?

Speaker 1 (01:23:49):
Apparently, Oh that's that's from the texture though.

Speaker 5 (01:23:52):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:23:58):
All right. So here's some of those stories. Nashville skydiving instructor.
It has passed away after falling without the parent, without
a parachute. So this is adrenaline sports story's gone bad. Yeah,
this is a skydiving instructor. Instructor after a tandem jump

(01:24:18):
went wrong over the weekend.

Speaker 5 (01:24:20):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
So apparently the skydiver, as people were saying separated, became
separated at the plane from a tandem rig cole with
an instructor. The other skydivers who jumped moments earlier landed
safely the plan, the plane landed safely. The student who

(01:24:44):
was jumping was lodged in a tree with an open
parachute and is expected to be okay. So the instructor
is the one that fail when they separated. He really
got the worst end of the deal separated. So I'm
trying to figure it out.

Speaker 3 (01:25:00):
Being the student. You're there, goes your instructor by, and
you're then you're there. You're hanging hanging in the tree,
and you come down in your parachute and you land
in the tree.

Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
You live.

Speaker 4 (01:25:10):
So let me walk this out in my mind here.
So we have an instructor, it says, okay, he's on
the back. No, sounds like the instructors on the front,
and the student is on the back.

Speaker 1 (01:25:19):
He's taking teaching him and the instructor. So the student
probably scraped something up. Let's just call it. Oh, I
don't know, you don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:25:29):
I know that when I tanned them that one time
and the clips you know that you clip on. I
remember thinking I looked at that clip and I was like,
so that's that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:37):
Clips got me. That's it. Then duck walk right out
that door. The person of the man riding trape got
on ground said I need to that again.

Speaker 5 (01:25:46):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
I don't know what's wrong with your stop, but.

Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
We got to have to unhook. We could stay together
for a little while. You want to go eat some food.

Speaker 4 (01:25:57):
Yes, a guy died.

Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
Oh, that's right, God died talking about you though.

Speaker 4 (01:26:02):
That's what we're talking doing what he loves as you
got me liking it.

Speaker 1 (01:26:06):
Yeah, somebody died here.

Speaker 4 (01:26:08):
Don't look at me, look at baby brother.

Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
That's a guy that dies. Justin Fuller, Greg nicknamed Spotty.
I got a bad fan. I got a bad fan.
The student messed up. He's was known by his friends
as an experienced skydiver thousands of jumps. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:26:23):
But if this, if the student messed it up, the instructors,
him being there should be you can you should be
able to see it and fix it. In my mind,
I'm not going to put it on the student.

Speaker 5 (01:26:34):
Student.

Speaker 4 (01:26:35):
That is what he's like getting your pilot's license, you know,
certified polt instructors. You know he's letting you fly or
she is.

Speaker 8 (01:26:44):
No.

Speaker 4 (01:26:44):
But I'm just saying that's what I'm I'm assuming happened
that he's he's.

Speaker 1 (01:26:47):
Training the student. That's what could be messed up. Also,
you got the students, wouldn't you. Well a lot of
times a version. We don't know what happened. But Greg
apparently is going way in. But uh, if you look
at the situation, I can see where he would go.
I'm gonna go there first, but you probably want to
wait to the information is actually, yeah for something. You

(01:27:08):
look at that tandem and go, that went bad. Well,
it was a student and an instructor. You immediately go
a student, right, and you could be proven. And the
student just landed in some tree. Yeah, he's hanging in
a tree after he messed the jump up, right, we
think about it. We don't know that.

Speaker 3 (01:27:23):
No, guys, look I'm seeing the student said. This is
my first and last jump. The student said, after watching
his instructor fall. Unhonest, this is first jump.

Speaker 1 (01:27:34):
Hey, look you're being the tandem, I guess, being in
charge of the town.

Speaker 4 (01:27:38):
You pulling, you're doing this like that, And all of
a sudden he just gone, He's like, I know, And
next thing he knows, he's hanging out of a tree.

Speaker 5 (01:27:46):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:27:47):
The student was stranded in the parachute for hours in
a weird area near at I.

Speaker 1 (01:27:51):
Couldn't find it, all right, Yes, it's better to be
stranded in the tree.

Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
Then the instructor was found later.

Speaker 1 (01:27:57):
Wow, I'll take the tree, will Yes, a long eight hours,
but yeah, that's all right. I'm hugging. I'm just happy
right there. It could be worse now. Granted, this harness
is getting little tight on me. But yeah, by the way,
they said that this is how it would be. They
they found mister Burgess because of his blood curdling scream.
I can't believe I'm alive. Yeah, I'm still here. I

(01:28:20):
still say the student didn't it? Wow, we don't know.
Gress is hard, that's wow. That's the student's hard, right
that somewhere until they prove me different, which they might.
Their family could be listening. This is terrible.

Speaker 5 (01:28:31):
Don't do this.

Speaker 4 (01:28:32):
Yeah, speaking of terrible, you can do that. Black County story, speedy.
I'm just asking close to home, Blue County, Alabama, close
to home?

Speaker 3 (01:28:42):
Why would you?

Speaker 1 (01:28:42):
What are we doing today? What we got some tragic stories?

Speaker 5 (01:28:45):
You know?

Speaker 1 (01:28:46):
Are we saying today? Oh, you think you think you
can get through this Monday? Try again, Like you think.

Speaker 3 (01:28:52):
You had a bad weekend or whatever. You think you
had a back. This is your you're upset, it's mine day. Well,
at least you're having a Monday.

Speaker 1 (01:29:03):
Well, this one was awful. This is this is the worst. Now,
this is the most awful. What about the dog ever?
I mean, an investigations underway after one was found dead
and dismembered by dogs, dead and dismembered. What kind of
dogs were County home. It kind of dog uh late sixties.

(01:29:26):
Second discovered about four p m. Saturday at her home
Bama was playing. Yep, Okay, I'm just thinking what I
was doing, right, And I'll get ready for the.

Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
Ground to say Bama's playing.

Speaker 1 (01:29:40):
I just left. Listen to Chris Stewart. I still watching.
I was watching at the house. I hadn't even left.
It likely cause of death. Attacked by dogs, that's the
cause of it. And that believed to be her own.
Oh wow, she falls has to be big dogs. Says

(01:30:01):
it was a welfare check. Oh, not the welfare. Her
neighbors became concerned. They've not seen her in three weeks. Good,
that's long. So is it possible that she passed away
of something else. That's what I was wondering. And they
and they went to the bowl for the last time
and nothing was there. Possible. I mean, I don't know

(01:30:23):
that's possible. Greg. I'm sure, Greg, you're ready to weigh
on it and tell us exactly what happened. I'm going
that way that she died of some other They didn't
attack her. She just died, and then they they were
three weeks somebody nobody's seen her in three weeks. That's possible.

Speaker 4 (01:30:38):
Somebody hear a dog barking from the insider, right, you
would think the house.

Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
It might be Reclus. Yeah, you and didn't say how
many dogs. That helps me a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:30:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:30:53):
That's tough there, it is. It's real tough. Hey, Rick
