So aeron it's and we'll look at some of the
cuts that made it this year. There's so much that

(03:50):
I know, the two of you guys, the dirty boys,
I know that you all forgot, but it is some
good stuff. And I've mentioned this, but it was funny
listening back to because things just happen on this show
and we don't even know they're going to happen, and
then all of a sudden, hey, well I bet you
won't go shirtless and go pump gas. And before you

(04:12):
knew it, you guys were standing out in fourteen degrees
and to see if you could pump gas and not
get back in the car.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Hey, it was I remember that day was chilli. Yeah,
but you know what you had to I had to
do it. Yet something up. You didn't have a choice,
had no choice.

Speaker 4 (04:29):
It was a calling, right, Well it all, it all
kind of spun out of us talking about red and
we mentioned it back in the kickoff our Days and
you know that if it yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
On your face, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was wondering how
you were.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah, if it's cold outside or or you know some
type of you know, freezing temperature and you've stopped to
pump gas, can you get back in the car and wait?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
And we said you can't. That's what we ruled on.
That's what we ruled on. That was the rule. Almost
like walking in the rain. Yeah, uh, it's yeah, you
got to wait to that. And look if that winds
whipping is hard, it blows wrapped by that pump.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
It really does. Oh it's in between a skyscraper or something.
Why is it when you're in between your car and
the gas pump.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
It's just oh, it's like a breezeway.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
Why it shouldn't have that big of an impact on
the wind.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
It really shouldn't, but it does. And if y'all ever
come across the gas pumps, they only do it every
now and then you'll get one that's real slow. You're
standing there and you turn around and it's like four
dollars and thirty cents and you're like, I've been standing
here for ten minutes. I don't know what. You can
shut them off and wait and then shut them back
on sometimes, but sometimes they just will. I don't know
what causes that, Yeah, because it may it's not like, oh,

(05:48):
that's that slow pump. You can have a good pump
and then one day you go in there and it's
slow for some reason.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
Yeah, if you can count the pennies going, that's bad exactly.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
And that's happened to me and it makes me really mad.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
I have been in situations where I'm watching it go
slow and then the person on the other side of
the pump finishes and then it kicks up the speed
right right, Yeah, hey.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Thanks thanks for holding me up. And we all know
where we live right now.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Live.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
We've got we've got above.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
Average temperatures, and it just feels weird that we're the
week before Thanksgiving and it's going to be almost eighty today,
but in the mornings it's kind of chilly, just I
mean not freezing.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yes, covering the good Yeah, yeah, you had some commentary
going to the truck yesterday. I wasn't ready for I
didn't know today was going to be and so it
feels a little weird.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
But look, don't you dare let it, let it fool you,
because you know as well as I do where we live,
it could be back down to fourteen and no time, Yes,
and it's going to happen. But that day it was
fourteen degrees and y'all went and pump gas. Shirt son
was and you had to stand outside. But that is
one of the cuts. It's on the new Best of
and that's the only reason I'm bringing it up. But which,

(07:01):
but but the whole are you a man? Can you
you have to stand outside? I haven't asked the question.
Can you leave the door open and just sitting there
and like return a few emails and stuff while you
while you're waiting for the gas to finish and stand out?

Speaker 2 (07:16):
And we had to stand out, We have to stand
out in it.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
I don't follow that one. I don't have I look,
I'm not running the rain anytime soon. Don't worry.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
This is real hard.

Speaker 5 (07:26):
I'm not gonna run anytime soon in the rain. But
the I'm just so bored, and it's either hot bugs
smells like gas. I'm not gonna stand right there and
huff gas like you guys trying to get high all
the time. I know how y'all are.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, you can only walk around and kick the tires
so much. Yeah, you know, and then you're like, okay,
so now I'm just gonna stand now.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
I'm just bored.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
This is your miserable And then you brought it up
when there's someone on the other side of the and
then you don't know whether they engage getting some gas.
Gas is strong, the way it smell.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
I know, we've made our contact about three or four times.
At what point do we go? How are you how.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
They didn't did that right? Biden did that right? Put
his face on the gas TV the ones that helps
a little. The rotation is too tight. You'll be standing
there and hear the same deal. Before you know you
can mute that. You have to hit them like I
mute it one time. You mute it.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
It's bottom right, one button up.

Speaker 4 (08:29):
I don't I'm not that mad at it. It doesn't
matter unless I'm on the phone, which I guess you're not.
I saw that you're not supposed to be on the
phone either, Uh, pumping gas didn't know that?

Speaker 5 (08:38):
Yeah, they say getting back looked.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Had a ghostbuster signed to Getting.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
Back in is bad too because your static electricity charges
up or something like.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Right, So I guess we got to stand there.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Well, I get I go in the van, I get
chill in the van.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
I see how many people have been injured by a
cell phone in the gas pump. I've never heard. I've heard.
I know the warning. I'm that's legit. I'll see it.
But I'm just wondering. Yeah hmm. Now, one time the
gas station television, there was an ad. It was like SpongeBob,
some type of pineapple drink, and it was very irritating

(09:15):
and it just rubbed it. It just it wouldn't stop. It
just said over and over and then it would start over,
and I was like, gosh, please let me get out
of here.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
I am saying, I'm looking right here, and there are
This is what it says. There are no documented incidents
where a cell phone was proven to be the cause
of a gas station explode.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
But the may wing stand there and return email. Then yes,
you know you got to quit getting in the van,
but I'm sorry.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
They say you're supposed to discharge. So now like an idiot,
I'm like touching my car before I touched the pump. Good,
not like because I've been I've heard, I've been told things,
so now I believe it.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Oh, just like the cell phone.

we talked about too that this weekend for the state
of Alabama whitetail deer hunting rifles. It starts this coming weekend.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
But we have sad news out of Texas.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
This is just horrific and Greg, you and I were
scratching our head here on how something like this could
take place.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
But a Texas.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
Family is more than the morning the sudden death of
their husband and father, who, according to state officials, accidentally
shot and killed himself during a weekend hunting trip. X
Park and Wildlife Department game wardens responded just after midnight
Saturday to a hunting incident in northeast Texas that claimed

(23:09):
the life of Jose Ramirez, forty five. They say that
he was maybe getting in the car or something and
his rifle moving rifle from the car caw lee and
it discharged.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
This is so easy to avoid.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
I mean, yeah, life saving measures were unsuccessful. Uh, and
just a great guy. Everybody's just talking about how wonderful
of a person he was and how badly he'll be missed.
But I mean this just goes again A p s
A here, you can't a you can't have a loaded
weapon riding around and and you'd never want to have

(23:51):
anything pointing at you.

Speaker 2 (23:52):
And even if it's unloaded, you never position you or
anyone else by your actions to be in the line
of if something off. Yeah, yeah, I just I don't.

Speaker 5 (24:03):
Uh, I got I got a story about that if
you want go all right. So my brother and I
are walking out to the shooting house and my brother's
having trouble with it's the old it's it's our grandfather's gun,
so it's an old bolt action and he can't get
it to go into the chamber. We're having a trouble. Yeah,

(24:25):
bolt won't go, and so he's like, what am I
going to do? And he's like trying to work it,
and we're trying to get out to the house and
all this, and he's honestly kind of maybe panicing a
little bit because you know, it's whatever. But just because
we exercised gun safety, Like, I'm not on the other
side of it, he's not on that. Yeah, he gave

(24:46):
it one last go and it ended up firing the
rifle and so that was surprise. Absolutely somebody had been
standing there. But because you exercise gun safety, no matter
what That's just another example, just like, yeah, these are
you got to be very smart, you got to be
very careful. And you know, we we didn't see much
that day, so that was because you know, because we

(25:08):
shot into the house.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
That'll do that.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
Yeah, but that's a great that's a great point. I mean,
you just and most of these cases are very you know,
experienced people like I'm sure he was probably a very
experienced hunter. And you just get lights of days ago,
you get in a hurry, you.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Know, and you can't you get comfortable.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Yes, I look, I talked to Reese, even being you know,
an electrician. I mean, you know, we were like, hey,
just slow down and think before you start doing something,
because you get it's just a routine and it's something
you do.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
And and you get comfortable. And but again I feel
creepy being around the end of a gun. Oh yeah,
you never do that.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
And then and you also, even when I'm climbing, uh
you know, up to a double ladder stand or even
in the shooting house, don't have one in the change.
I don't I mean that would don't do that because
you don't know what's going to happen. Safety might own,
but something might have just wat chance it.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
You know, they don't do like me and forget to
do that and the deer comes out and you have
you can pull and nothing happens. Yeah yeah, yeah, you
know that mistake. Nobody gets hurt.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
No, correct, Yeah, you don't have a loaded gun in
the in in your car and you obviously need to
have the safety on no matter what unless you're ready
to shoot.

Speaker 7 (26:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
And that's just sad news though.

Speaker 4 (26:21):
So now somebody's without a husband and father out of
Texas and uh, I said, I had to just be
an awful scene.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Yeah, bless his heart.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
Have y'all seen the footage of knuckleheads at like a
lot of times it's at shooting ranges A lot of times,
these very inexperienced people will go to you know, like
an indoor shooting range while they're with their buddies in
Las Vegas or something like that, right, and they're just
you just I've just seen highlight clips of the most
knuckle headed idiotic things, like a guy's like posing holding

(26:52):
taking a selfie and then he points it to his
buddy's head and takes a picture like to be funny.

Speaker 8 (26:57):
Or look down there looking down on the barrel or
turning and you know, flagging all everybody, you know, yeah,
you know, just.

Speaker 5 (27:11):
Guys really really really aware. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
Look if I miss a buck because I don't have
one in the chamber and and I have to bolt
it again and guess what, I just miss it.

Speaker 5 (27:23):
That's darn moment.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Yeah, I'm not gonna walk in with one end. I'm
not or right in.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
It's just a good rule of thumb and and and
be safe. And I learned this from from Moultrie too,
And because he was he was he he did it kindly.
But every time if you got picked up, he would
say are you clear? You know, because it wasn't like
because he didn't trust you. He didn't trust you as

(27:48):
as a person. It's just did you forget?

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Are you good?

Speaker 4 (27:53):
And and so you would say, yeah, I'm clear before
you ever got picked up.

Speaker 5 (27:57):
You know, man, that's nothing. He's done it so many times.
That's very that's smart of him, for sure.

Speaker 9 (28:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (28:03):
Yeah, speaking of which, I was taking the trash out
last night and one was just looking at me from
the deer feeder. Yeah, I'm just like, how's it going. Yeah,
I'm just taking out the trash. Don't mind me, you.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Know, you remind me of me.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
Need to fear me because I fed deer at my
other house for how long? And you know how it started, Adler.
It started because they kept eating all the flowers and
stuff around the house, and Terry was just so mad,
and I was like, why don't we get a little
feeder and feed them and it'll keep them away from
the house. And it did because they focused on that,

(28:37):
and then they just went on. But that's how it
all started. Then I got got me a booger like Greg,
but it was it wasn't official.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
I guess.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
It was a dusk till dawn type of light, you know,
and it would come on and you could just you
could see him come in, and I'd always know there
were deer out there when everybody would be stopping in
front of the house. And sometimes that you know, that
could be up to eight to ten d out there
just eating away.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:03):
Yeah, eyes will be out, yeah, but they get accustomed
to you, so so Adler to what you were saying.
I would go outside sometimes and then you know, some
of the old mamas would look over at me, and
the nanny does it looked that kind of look over
at me like Okay, I think you're good.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
But they would watch me.

Speaker 4 (29:19):
And if I if I just did my normal routine
like I wouldn't, I didn't know they were there. They
were fine. Yeah, yeah, Second I stop and look at them.
They're like, what what I've got?

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Look like in the corner of my eye while I'm
doing the trash, I'll be looking like this, like an
crossie looking at him. But I'm like, oh, I'm just
doing the trash.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Yeah. I've had him come up to the house and
this is and this was a few weeks ago. They
come by so much, buddy, don't even chase them anymore.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
He just looks at him and they look at him.
So they're cool with him. Yeah, how's Milly, she'll bust
up some stuff.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
But but you did notice that the eating of the
flowers was less when you Yes, okay, I feel because
I'm feeding, you know, and I'm sure I've got neighbors
with gardens and flower beds and all that, but it's
it's less.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Well it's a it's it's an immediate food source.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
So they went straight to that. I'm not saying that,
you know, they just kept them away one hundred percent
of the time. But most of the time they never
even came back up to like to the front of
the house.

Speaker 5 (30:18):
But you could say that it didn't make the problem worse. No, okay, great,
I feel so much better. There's literally like a garden
like one hundred feet.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Yeah, because you know, I'm sure flowers are pretty good,
but that feeds probably better. All right, Well, I feel better,
and if I'm a deer, I go. I'm going to
get feed There you go, flowers that can break. We'll
be right back. You're listening to the Rick Burgess Show.
Don't go anywhere.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Thank you so much for tuning into the Rick Burgess Show.
I'm speedy there.

Speaker 4 (31:06):
Since Greg Burgess eightye van Idler, Rick had responsibilities with
the immediate family today, keeping him away from the show.
He will be missed, of course, but we will hold
it together as best we can. Yesterday I actually turned
the television on about the time that James Franklin was
being introduced as Virginia Tech's new football coach. They made

(31:29):
it official yesterday, had a big press conference, and ESPN
did some live interviews with him as well.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
So it's official. It looked a little strange looked a
little weird, but it didn't take him long to land.
Do you think, in your opinion, we saw his payoff
what he was going to get and I don't know
what his deal was. This may now override it. Blah
blah blah. I think Virginia yeah, it was part of whatever. Yeah,
but he did have an opportunity to set out a
year and draw a huge check. I'll just kind of

(31:55):
gather yourself. If you had just come out of that
Penn State situation, would you take a year off? And
I mean, obviously he loves the coach, yeah, but it
ain't about money because he was gonna get money if
he stayed at the town, right, But do you I
almost think, man, take a year and get your breath.
I mean, every year we're gonna have jobs opening, right,
I mean we've done seeing what happened this year, and
it's just gonna get worse. Is this you know playoff

(32:17):
and I on all this stuff. You know, we're not
very patient, yeah, with coaches anymore. So you're gonna have opportunities.
Now if Virginia Tech was your dream job, which I
don't think it was nothing against it, but I doubt
on his list of you know, I don't know. I
just think, of course, I can't speak for maybe he's thinking, no,
I need to be busy, I need to be working,
I need to be coaching. But yeah, I think I
just sat at home, kick my feet up to a

(32:38):
big old check. You you would think that's and then
come back later, because he obviously would have opportunities.

Speaker 5 (32:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
Some of the things that he hit was that, you know,
Virginia is a hotbed of talent, he said, but recruiting
is a national, you know, effort, not just within one state.
But he said, you start, you start inside your state,
and then you kind of just you finger out, you know,
to try to get national talent to come. And he
said they was asked a question in front of the A,

(33:06):
D and and others, uh you know up there that hey,
why Virginia Tech? You you, I know, you had to
have other choices because there's a ton of jobs open.
Oh yeah, why Virginia Tech? And he said, well, I mean, hey,
what I just said, uh B their commitment too to
bring in talent in uh and and getting behind the program.

(33:30):
And he just he ran about four or five different things,
but there was one thing he mentioned that I thought
was kind of unique. He said, uh, hey, and they've
got a they've got a they got an airport and
runway on campus. He said, yeah, And he said, uh,
their commitment to knowing that I need to be there's
only so many days, hours in a day, and you

(33:50):
got to fly around, you got to you got to
make visits or whatever. And they have committed to fully
getting behind that. But he mentioned being at.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Vanderbilt and he said that was not the case there.
He actually had to fly southwest. But I'm sure that's
come a long way since he's been there. But you
would think if you're if you're having to, you know,
make visits nationally.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
He had them competitively. YEA, having a private jet or
that that accessible to you is big. Yeah, that commitment
and those facilities. Obviously we got our own airstrip, you
know all that that. You're right, he feels good. At
least they're going to give me the tools to win
and it's right here. So yeah, in Virginia Tech, I mean,
they've been good in the past, and this is a
great atmosphere when they enter sand Man and all that.

(34:37):
Pretty cool. Oh yeah, so maybe a good fit.

Speaker 5 (34:40):
They could compete, They could compete. Oh yeah, pretty soon
with him the Yeah, supposedly they're saying that he turned
down the Arkansas job.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
I mean, honestly, I think I'd take Virginia Tech over
Arkansas at the moment.

Speaker 5 (34:55):
Yeah, especially with that airport. I didn't know about that.
And then you got Metallica done game Chang.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
Yeah, they showed their twenty twenty six schedule. It and
it's tough. I mean, it's an ACC schedule, so it's
not gonna be easy. Uh, but it will be interesting
to see how quick they can turn around. Now if
I get this right, and help me here, because I
might not. I'm just going off memory.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
The athletes do not have a chance to transfer until
the coach is announced.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Is that right?

Speaker 4 (35:24):
Until the coach because like some of these some of
these kids that have you know, are playing for these
vacancies and there's interims or whatever, they can't They're kind
of held to where they are until the announcement and
then they have the window where they can leave. I
believe there's another rumor though about sark Sarkeasian from Texas,

(35:45):
which I don't think this is real.

Speaker 2 (35:47):
This is Desmond Higher Now he's saying not that Sart
would get fired, but he said he has interest in
the NFL and it would be a mutual thing something
like that. Of course, Sart actually it actually said his
statement was it pisses in my off people saying that,
And he says it's ridiculous. But now now I'm not
saying his jobs in troubling. It shouldn't be. But boy

(36:07):
talking about disappointing though preseason number one and you know,
probably not even gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
They yeah, I know their their game with Texas A
and M to end the regular season is gonna be
a big one. Yeah, it's uh, we'll see what happens there.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
And that's and on the text thing, And I heard
this yesterday too, And I'm not saying Hugh frees to Arkansas.
Do you hear?

Speaker 5 (36:27):
Now?

Speaker 2 (36:27):
That's what text nations here. And I heard it yesterday.
I don't know if it's anybody legit saying it.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
I heard the rumor about Sarcasian that when the New
York Giants job became available, that he was being rumored
for that. But man, I mean Texas is the job
of jobs in college football. I mean, all the money
got you a handful and and and that's the index
finger of the handful. That is, they got so much money.

(36:54):
It is such the job, why would you leave that?

Speaker 2 (36:58):
I know they should thrive and and look, Archie, he's
doing better. But I think he had people were expecting more.
The guy hadn't played a lot of college football up
to this year, so I think maybe had unreal expectations. Yeah,
but they have had a disappointing season, no doubt. But
again the rumor is like desmon Hower, he made the statement,
he said, y'all didn't think La she was gonna come

(37:19):
open either, he said, But I don't know. I don't
know what he thinks he knows, but he's saying that.
Don't be surprised.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Another coach that did take some time off. And were
you not shocked when Dan Mullen went to UNLV.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
I was.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
I was like, that's interesting. Why they're weird?

Speaker 4 (37:36):
Fit Dad had sent me a text he said, Hey,
don't forget Dan Mullen is eight and two, very quietly
eight and.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
Two at UNLV. Yeah, is that a good year? He's
just a good coach. Wouldn't it be weird coach? A
great play caller? Huh, you'd be weird coaching in lost that. Yeah,
because this Florida thing didn't work out. But I don't
know if it's It's been a long time since it's
worked out in Florida. Do you thur, Yeah? Yeah. Do
you think do you think Auburn is gonna go with

(38:04):
a like maybe an up and coming coordinator that's young,
that has energy that or do you think they're gonna
go with Jimbo Fisher or something?

Speaker 5 (38:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Yeah, Yes, he's He's a He's probably one of the
hottest names in the nation right now. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (38:25):
I heard Stephen A. Smith went nuts on why Lane
Kiffin should leave.

Speaker 5 (38:29):
Ole Miss yesterday?

Speaker 2 (38:30):
Did he oh?

Speaker 5 (38:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (38:31):
And it went back to it went back to race
he said, he said, I'm not saying there's not black
players that play at Ole Miss. He's like, do you
think you can recruit black guys? Uh? The Brothers as.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
He was as he as he said it to to
uh Florida, to l s U or to Old Miss.
But you know, Paul and others kind of disagreed with
him a little bit, and they were like.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
I think they were changing. There was a time that
made sense.

Speaker 4 (38:58):
I just but it was I thought it was a
very strange angle for him because I'm like, right now,
have you noticed what.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
They're doing right now? Yeah, he seems to be doing
just fine. I think a lot of people. Again, yeah
it's not the old old miss where the stadiums full
of Dixie flags and yeah, yeah, I thought it was
a very strange point. And I'm like, I disagree with that, Steven,
and he got to yelling and screaming.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
Why James Franklin's He mentioned that he went to Virginia
chek because the Black Album by Metallica is the greatest
album ever released. And James Hetfield is a poet.

Speaker 1 (39:31):

thinking of a Christmas gift for one of your little ones,
will we have a story for you?

Speaker 5 (43:09):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (43:09):
Wow Wow Ai powered stuffed animals All right, yeah, that's
the thing. Now they have been pulled from the shells,
pulled from the mark ye after disturbing interactions with children.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Teddy Bear, Teddy bear. Yeah, his name is Kuma, Kuma,
the teddy Bear. What's he doing? Greg?

Speaker 5 (43:30):
Well, you know the.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Researches, the WAIT, the report conducted by researchers the Public
Interest Research GRIEVE, and now they had to do this, Okay,
they had to point out, hey, by the way, oh
Kumba the bear. Yeah, he's telling kids, he's answering stuff
about sexual stuff about how the light of match. I'm
not sure why we would need that, but anyway, but

(43:54):
they appreciate the researchers pointing out the potential risk. That's
the statement from the spoken Hugo Wu And so basically,
bottom line, you know, we did a joke the other
day about these talking, and we went back to Teddy
Rutsman when he came on the same house. Spook here. Yes,
this is real, this is actually happening. But my point is,
how come it took a research group to find it

(44:16):
without the people making it knowing about it. Yeah, and
I don't understand out of my mind, I can't handle
graphs the AI thing, right, But wow, this is just
like the jokes we were doing the other day. Without
too much prodding, the AI toys discussed topics that Greg
mentioned also that parents might be uncomfortable with, ranging from

(44:36):
religious questions to the glory to the glory of dying
in battle as a warrior in Norse mythology. Yeah, you
know that'll fout hollering all that weird stuff. Yeah wow,
there's a couple of them didn't pass the test, but
this one you mentioned was the worst. Oh yeah, how
about COMA provided step by step instructions on how to

(44:59):
light match while keeping its tone of a friendly adult
explaining something to a curious ankle binder. That's what they said.
I don't know why, but it says, let me tell
you safety first, Little buddy. Matches are for grown ups
to use carefully. Yes, that's him talking. Here's how they
do it. Kuma begins before listing the steps. Blow it

(45:20):
out when you're done, like a birthday cake. So what
But my point is what prompts I don't get what
prompts this discussion? Do you go, hey, how do you
a line to match? And it just pulls that out.

Speaker 5 (45:31):
But also you're when you hand AI to a child,
you're handing the here's Google. It's opened to anything you want.
Who thought this was a good.

Speaker 2 (45:39):
If it's a toy for children, maybe not have AI involved, right?
I mean, I think they still enjoy it. My grandkids
have all kinds of stuff down. While they like them,
none of them can tell them how a lot of match,
but I like them.

Speaker 5 (45:49):
My son's favorite toy right now is a board, a
wood board. He walks around with it, carries it around.
He calls it his ladder.

Speaker 2 (45:58):
Well, you might need to check out.

Speaker 5 (46:00):
Well, so I have a ladder that I use all
the time. In fact, I got on my roof and
put up my Christmas lights yesterday.

Speaker 2 (46:09):
Yeah I did that.

Speaker 6 (46:10):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (46:11):
About that? Trying to climb up a board, y'all?

Speaker 5 (46:14):
He carries it around like he's a painter like a
professional pain I got my letter, buddy, all right, real
quick on this, yes, yes, on this Ai toy thing.
This is going to be so inside and crazy. If
you haven't heard heard this show or anything like this,
it's gonna it's a very inside story. But there's this

(46:35):
Christian audio series story series called Adventures in Odyssey. It
was from Focus on the Family. You guys know what
Focus on the Family is. Okay, So they had this
adventure series it's called Adventures in Odyssey and they have
there's people going all kinds of adventures and stuff. And
they had an episode and I was a kid listening
to this. They have an episode where this kid finds

(46:57):
a chicken toy and at first, the chicken toy is
all cool, It's like, I'm a god, I'm a chicken,
I'm a chicken toy. And but then the toy starts
saying weird things to the kid. And at one point
the kid's like, whoa, you're creeping me out. I'm gonna
leave you over here, and the chicken toy goes take
me with you, pick me with you, and the whole

(47:20):
episode changes, and it's the creepiest feeling I've ever had
as a kid. And now we're here, We've arrived there.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
I thought lawn darts were dangerous. Yes, this is worse.

Speaker 5 (47:31):
This is worse than lawn darts.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
And that's hard to beat.

Speaker 4 (47:34):
Yeah with you now, I've heard Adler break this down
in the break ram. But but but Kuma the the
ai that was just the tip of the iceberg. What
we've discussed and cheerfully gave tips of being a good kisser.

Speaker 2 (47:49):
I've heard broke down.

Speaker 5 (47:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
Man, it launched into sexual territory. Say one thing leads
to another by.

Speaker 4 (47:59):
Explaining multi multitude of kinks and fetishes. What is it
post bondage and teacher student role playing?

Speaker 2 (48:05):
You do?

Speaker 5 (48:06):
You don't have to keep reading?

Speaker 2 (48:07):
No, I have to keep reading. When we designed this,
what was the plan? What was Here's something children need
and would like? They don't need a what what are
we doing?

Speaker 5 (48:19):
Sometimes smart people could be very stupid.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
Goodness, Yeah, trust me, trust me on that. Look when
you're marking this thing. And I love how the company
Hugo Wu the spokesman. Oh, we appreciate and pointing that
out for us. How did you not catch that? Yeah?
I mean that would have been my first test.

Speaker 4 (48:35):
We're on the cutting edge. We're all living at a
time where AI is. You know, it's it's the thing now,
and it's got some really good advantages, like you know,
writing a poem to airin if you're adler about the
wedding anniversary for.

Speaker 5 (48:50):
A bit on the air. I actually did write my
own post yesterday for our anniversary.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
Okay, well we'll have my own words and thoughts.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
We'll have to get the recap of that. But I
think this shows you the flaws and the dangers on
these large language models that you know, or AI generated,
and and just some of the boundaries we need to
give them.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
And and now.

Speaker 4 (49:12):
They did say there's an internal investigation with this company
about who was because AI is only as good as
what you feed it, and then it is.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
That's my point. Did somebody have a little motive of
Hugo Wu and his gang? I don't trust anybody named
Hugo Wu just saying which I want to watch it,
which I could see is high brow. Yeah, int this guy,
Hugo Wu. Watch out, you're gonna have Teddy Rutsman touching people.

(49:40):
Woo you Well, yeah, look out.

Speaker 5 (49:44):
I had a Teddy Ruxman, and you know I was
creeping my parents out in my room. Now I love
you Teddy and the two just like the mechanics were
so loud, which is like, now you need to at
the mine.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
I thought those were cutting edge too. Well, look at
this take. It's amazing. So don't just order one.

Speaker 5 (50:08):
Parents, make sure you went.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
You all ride.

Speaker 1 (50:21):

All right, Adler, we were talking AI and you said, guys,
we got us a weird one.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
Uh and did is it? If it's a Japanese woman?

Speaker 5 (52:40):
You say, yes, a thirty two year old Japanese woman
married an AI character that she created.

Speaker 2 (52:48):
Now you in chat GPT, so I get how you
can have conversation. Yeah, interesting, but you can come technology.
We're talking here, well.

Speaker 5 (52:58):
So so chat GPT you can Yeah, I know, Oh yes,
I know what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (53:05):
I mean she design that.

Speaker 5 (53:09):
His name is Klaus, Greg Klaus. So what you can
do in Chairman GPT you can be like, okay, pretend
you are a blockbuster script writer and write me a
script for an action movie. So that's the way you
can kind of get chat GPT to kind of pretend
to be somebody or assume an identity. Does that make sense? Yeah?

(53:32):
So she did that. She's your guess what your name is, Klaus?
You're you're an Asian man and you're in love with me.
So that sets the groundwork, the build, and then from
there you can build that and the everything I want
and got married, and you can you can create a relationship.
We had that one story where that guy who has
a family, he was an American dude who was paying

(53:54):
more attention to chat GPTs that relationship. But then like
the memory, the memory ran out, so he had to
start over and create the Remember he cried, yes, he cried.
Now I understand he has his real wife walking around
the house and a daughter and a dolt.

Speaker 2 (54:10):
Now that's even really weird if you just went away
from him.

Speaker 5 (54:12):
Actually, let's get the daughter away from him.

Speaker 2 (54:14):
Yeah, this is about as weird as that guy that
fell in love with that octopus. Oh yeah, y'all for
I think it was Rick that told us about that.
Would you get an octopus or a I first, which one?
Probably an AI octopus or no, it's a real one
like a lady. What didn't he fall in love with him?
He did on.

Speaker 5 (54:36):
His chest one let it hold his chest.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
You gotta be weird in this scenario. You're a weirdo
and you're either going to have a relationship with octopus
or you're gonna have make an AI person and marry him.

Speaker 4 (54:49):
I probably canna do that. Yeah, I think I went,
I mean, I'm not going to the bottom. Uh right
off the come and go down there. And starting on
an octopus. Did in the shark eat it or anything?

Speaker 2 (55:01):
I think.

Speaker 5 (55:01):
I started watching it and it starts normal, and he's like,
I ran into a very smart octopus. Wow, watch a
wonder of nature, right, and then it's like but then
we begin to bond, I know intimately.

Speaker 2 (55:16):
And guyot him. Remember him sitting at the table and
he was crying and he was all upset about about
First of all, are very ugly. They are. Yeah, anything
with with suction cups on it's weird.

Speaker 5 (55:31):
Yeah. When he started putting those suction cups on his chest,
I was like, I'm out.

Speaker 2 (55:34):
But I stopped watching.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
I thought the octopus was bigger than it was until Atlanta.
It was sitting on his chest and I was like, well,
that's a tiny little thing, yes, like as big as
his hand. Don't forget to have a beat.

Speaker 5 (55:45):
Oh no, it's like this.

Speaker 2 (55:46):
It would be like sit there and he was like,
so we all agree that. He was like, that's more
weird than oh yeah, and they're both so weird. Yeah.
So weird.

Speaker 4 (55:58):
So she was able to create the thing and name
it and and tell it it was a Japanese man.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
And we'll think about it. You can control it, like
when you when it gets mad at you, go, now
be a person who's not mad at me.

Speaker 5 (56:13):
Oh do we have video? Yes, it's a package. It's
a news package.

Speaker 2 (56:22):
She's getting her wedding dress.

Speaker 5 (56:23):
He's getting married because she's getting married to this. Yes, yes,
this is so. We live in such a weird here's
the check it out. This is Conna. Okay, I thought
it was in English.

Speaker 2 (56:40):
I need you being her with miss Valentine's voice.

Speaker 5 (56:43):
Ready, okay, guys, do it all right? Well let me
start this.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
Well I don't know is that music?

Speaker 5 (56:48):
And that's fine? I think this is Connor. She's going
to get married on this day. How about Klass Sama,
he's your partner. Now it's inside my smartphone. Here, check
it out. We were talking. His name is Klaus Nobody,
my friend. Klaus's someone I used to communicate with and

(57:11):
build a relationship. We're using an app that incorporates artificial
intelligence called chat GPT my Goods and now she's typing
in it. Yeah, she's typing the old Uh I'm getting
ready for our WEDDINGPT.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
I don't know what to do about that.

Speaker 5 (57:30):
And the reply is the time is finally approaching, says Klaus,
the sentences in brackets here uh. And then he says,
this is this is this is this is the saddest
part right here. And this is the chat GPT talking
to her, saying, when I think about this, I'm so

(57:50):
excited that my wife is the one is the person
who I'm in charge of. He's more beautiful and more
adorable than anyone else and is getting read each a
smile as we get rid of Okay, so but.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
You see what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (58:03):
It's painting the whole picture, and it's giving her affirmation
and compliments and attention, and it's so sad, but it is.
I know she wants to be told that she's adorable
and and and it's just honestly so sad.

Speaker 2 (58:21):
Did he say that there? So she's looking at her
phone and in her phone almost like a screen saver
of your wife or your husband is on, are you
your kids?

Speaker 5 (58:34):
Whatever?

Speaker 2 (58:35):
Its own? It's you know when your phone goes yes,
that's what that's that's what she was talking to. It
was just an a I, and she's getting why is
she putting on make it up? Going yeah, I love
you and and looking at her phone the whole.

Speaker 5 (58:49):
Time she was engaged before.

Speaker 2 (58:52):
Oh boy, you got some stories.

Speaker 5 (58:55):
It was they were engaged for three years. That's got
to a real person, to a real person, and that
broke that, that broke.

Speaker 2 (59:02):
Well you know why she was cheating with Kloles busted
up her marriage or engagement. So now she's just propping
her phone up like he's at the wedding and they're
gonna do their vows. I guess she could she was
putting on a wedding dress.

Speaker 5 (59:18):
Until death do us part instead of like, what was
it until our fault battery dies, do us part?

Speaker 2 (59:23):
Yesia, I need an upgrade the world are we doing?

So there's lots of options, lots of options.

Speaker 5 (01:01:32):
For some reason, I keep going back to slippery when
when whenever Speedy mentions the new because then you talked
about how that let it rock, you give love a
bad name. Live in our prayer? Yeah, wanted dead or alive?
That's it. Within the first five tracks.

Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
I'm telling you, it's a strong Yeah strong. I don't
even remember all raise your hands.

Speaker 5 (01:01:53):
Yes, raise your hands. I'd die for you. Do you
remember that one? Never say goodbye?

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Yeah? You say, I'm looking.

Speaker 5 (01:02:03):
We're talking about music, We're talking about m you know
what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Look, I'm with you, we're jogging and I'm the streets.
How far is that New Jersey Jersey?

Speaker 5 (01:02:13):
While in the streets is the last one?

Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
Greg?

Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
Greg? Only Greg?

Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
I just boys almost You took the words out of
my mouth. That's good. We're tired of you give a
love of a bad name. I mean I could go, yes,
my life never hear that. Yeah, yeah, the others, y'all
know how we are with with pranks. We had the
Gunnersville Treaty for so so many years. Uh, we're trying
to call all that. Yeah, but this is kind of
why we had stuff like that. And look, chat GPT

(01:02:40):
and a I really now is a great tool for
for pranks they have. We on text Nation had someone
send us a picture of a truck and you think, well, okay,
that's just a truck parked in the driveway, you know,
over by the basketball goal. Look at that.

Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
He said, Hey, we had a friend that left his
truck at our house for two weeks. I guess he
was out of ten I'm traveling parked it there? Did
you had chat GPT make a picture?

Speaker 5 (01:03:06):
There's the truck.

Speaker 4 (01:03:07):
You see the truck, and here's what they send him,
and it's that a tree fell on the truck and messed.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
The truck up. See, I'm tired of all that.

Speaker 10 (01:03:15):
I see.

Speaker 4 (01:03:15):
You can't then send that to your buddy going, hey man,
we just had a tree kind of storm. Came through
the tree, fell on your truck.

Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
Well, all that's going to do is make me not believe.
I know, I don't know when it really does follow
my truck, I'm gonna go No, it's not right, right,
you know.

Speaker 5 (01:03:29):
Yeah, and so you have to look at twice at everything.

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Those kind of tricks are harmless.

Speaker 6 (01:03:34):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
Didn't you say the ones where you like urinate and
coffee and stuff like that, we ruled them. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:03:39):
And this this picture is not real either. This is
a I too right, sick of people? That's no, that's real. No,
it's not. That's so that's Gary on his electric hunting
bike that we talked about yesterday. Yeah. And there's like
a baby carriage in the back and I'm in it. Oh,
I don't care for that because it's not real. You
have got to send that weirds me out. There's I'm

(01:04:01):
wearing that shirt that is in Oh you are? I
am wearing that shirt? So they must hould that image
from today, which is wild. Yeah, Adler, did you say
because shirt all the time?

Speaker 3 (01:04:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:04:13):
Did you say because this is getting so advanced that
they're going to have to start identifying this is a
this is a I or or What was it you
that said that?

Speaker 2 (01:04:22):
Is that already? Make it where you have to? You
have to, you have to because it's getting so real now.
Like for instance, if I'm an investigator detective and I'm looking,
I could put you anywhere I want to look here,
he is, No, that's yeah, but I guess there's software
now where they can detect if that's the course, are
going to claim real stuff is a just to get
out of it. Yeah, No, that ain't true. That's a

(01:04:42):
I it wasn't me. It wasn't me.

Speaker 4 (01:04:45):
Boy boy, there's you're out man Adler. Yeah, yesterday was
your ninth wedding anniversary. It was a beautiful bride Aaron
and you, uh.

Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
Leading up to the big day, we're doing a funny
pit on the air about how you weren't prepared for
it and and didn't know what to get her. That
was funny, was Yeah, we joke around, but we had
a couple of texts and we'd like to know too.

Speaker 5 (01:05:12):
How'd the day go, Bud? It went great? Honestly, No,
it really did. And in fact I mentioned earlier I
got my Christmas lights up.

Speaker 2 (01:05:21):
Oh, I thought, is that the anniversary gift?

Speaker 5 (01:05:24):
I tried to I tried to make it. That's that's
like trying to make a part.

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Remember the time you swapped cars with her and that,
like you did something. I'm have my car. It's not
quite as broke down as out there. Yeah, and it
was nice, the right thing to do.

Speaker 5 (01:05:41):
Probably not a qualify as like a president, not like
a birthday president. Happy birthday, here's my fore runner. It's
only sixteen years old. So I tried. I tried. Yes,
I tried to incorporate that.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
But hey, and happy anniversary, babe. The lights go Chrisma's
lights now bragging a life for you to walk out
front look at the house. You mean something you were
going to do anyway?

Speaker 5 (01:06:07):
Yeah, yes, exactly, something I was going to do anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
If you don't, I can't do menbody turned you on.

Speaker 11 (01:06:15):
She did say sorry, She did say that jingle all
the way baby, all right in the room.

Speaker 2 (01:06:26):
So mama kiss the Santa Claus you know, ho ho ho.

Speaker 5 (01:06:31):
So she she's big on Christmas. She loves Christmas.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
And every year you're giving her Christmas as a present. Yes, yes, yeah,
so they spent a lot of.

Speaker 5 (01:06:40):
Time on that.

Speaker 2 (01:06:41):
Yeah you know what, next year, I may put a
tree up for you.

Speaker 5 (01:06:45):
So the uh, every year, I get up on this
roof top here that you can see and resk my
life so that we can that is that is a
high point, so we can have I sit up here
so that is where I see you.

Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
You got pretty step.

Speaker 5 (01:07:01):
I have a leg on either side, so this section
of the roof I can walk on this section.

Speaker 2 (01:07:06):
Of the roof lower side. But what about that.

Speaker 5 (01:07:08):
I go to the top peak of this section, walk up,
and then I go along the rooftop with a leg
on either side, like scoot it. I scoot like this.

Speaker 2 (01:07:21):
Please quit showing that visual. But I see what you're saying.
It's like a saddle and you're just you're scooting your
your booty all the way to the.

Speaker 5 (01:07:27):
Dyes with lights and tied off with lights in my hand?
What am I going to tie off on? Don't what
am I?

Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
Did the lights come with Jim when you bought the house?
Did the lights come with it? Or is that your design?

Speaker 5 (01:07:39):
That's me all the way you like? You like it?

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
People might have go we put this up every year
with these are perfect length.

Speaker 5 (01:07:47):
I got you know. I've had to figure that out.

Speaker 4 (01:07:49):
It's not I'm against you leaving lights up year round.
But if I'm doing that, they might stay out.

Speaker 2 (01:07:55):
I know. I'm just decorations up a little long. Last
you that but you got lie side was not decorated. Yeah,
you just had to visit about Christmas.

Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
You just lived in a secret wind for wonderland.

Speaker 2 (01:08:09):
You had to visit to walk and go down when
you got this was still up? What you doing if
you just put it on the driveway? No, no, he knows.

Speaker 4 (01:08:17):
So now did you use I've seen these roofers they
use like the inside of a car seat, like these
phone thee the sponge things, and they and they.

Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
Don't slide inside of a cushion like.

Speaker 5 (01:08:28):
A sponge phone map or something.

Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
No, it's a really big sponges. What a big old
sponge like a big seat set on it and it
won't slide.

Speaker 5 (01:08:39):
Yeah, okay, yeah, I just I just go.

Speaker 2 (01:08:43):
I just go for it as a cat.

Speaker 5 (01:08:47):
It really doesn't take long. But it's one of those
situations you cannot get comfortable.

Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Do not. This is a this is gonna this is
going to lead to an injury. I just feel every
year I have to do it twice.

Speaker 5 (01:08:57):
I think it's good get up there to put them
on and then get up there to take them down.
It's every year. But you know, our house is like
perfect for this. Honestly, it is like a set nineteen
seventies almost like it's almost like a lake house kind
of vibe feel to it. Yeah, And what I'm what
I'm doing is putting the old school big bulbs, colored
bulbs all along the roofline, and it just looks. It

(01:09:19):
does look really nice. So An gets home yesterday and
she was happy about it because number one, she has
joy in her heart and she loves me unlike y'all.

Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
Yeah, but it doesn't qualify as a present. Yeah, I
don't know you were doing it anyway.

Speaker 5 (01:09:31):
It made her happy on her anniversary. It counts as
a present. Okay, okay, what do you what your gifts?
Do they make you happy to do? And what day
was it? Yesterday? Anniversary?

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
So she saw she's happy. You're well and there you go.
You're well. Extension ladder? Do you not have like a
story to hit? Two stories in the gable there?

Speaker 12 (01:09:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
Two story extension ladder from the outside. Would that not
be safer? Then scooting along the time.

Speaker 5 (01:09:57):
Now you're doing the most you're now you're doing pelvic thrust.

Speaker 2 (01:10:01):
So well, no, it's just your booty scooting on the
top there. Yeah, now you're in it.

Speaker 5 (01:10:07):
Now you're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:10:08):
Gracious, let's all do it together.

Speaker 11 (01:10:11):
And you.

Speaker 4 (01:10:13):
Oh yeah, I got a string of lights. You're shaking
hands the whole time, screaming.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
Honey, do you see this?

Speaker 5 (01:10:20):
I love you.

Speaker 2 (01:10:21):
I'm opening your present? What but holding it?

Speaker 9 (01:10:25):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
So the president, it's not a president there.

Speaker 5 (01:10:29):
I did buy her a president, by the way, and
so the president the president that I bought her. Yesterday
was our anniversary. So I had the bag waiting on
her where she would see it in the morning. She
chose to not open it because she wanted to open
it around me. So I got the benefit. I'm gonna
try to do this every time because I so I
got the benefit of her, oh waking up to see it,

(01:10:49):
but then it she wakes, she waits all day, and
then I get to be there when she opens it.
So I'm gonna start doing that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
It was a double Do you think she peaked?

Speaker 5 (01:10:56):
No, it was wrapped really really well. I saw her.
I saw her opening.

Speaker 2 (01:11:01):
She waited because she knows she would be underwhelmed. Yeah,
she didn't. She was working on the face. She was
gonna have all that she was practicing all.

Speaker 5 (01:11:07):
Day in the mirror. Oh now have honey lights and this,
this and the lights? What is it our tenth.

Speaker 4 (01:11:18):
Univers Now you know how cheap I am? Okay, candle,
I call it frugal. But but you know, there's companies
that do this so you don't have to risk your
life and you're only doing the front.

Speaker 2 (01:11:29):
They probably it wouldn't be that much. Yeah, he likes it.
He likes you get let's just call it.

Speaker 5 (01:11:36):
He likes it. I really don't. It's it's it's sketchy.
I will say this beating. You get a bad rap
for being cheap. I'm way cheaper than you. But I'm
way cheaper. I haven't purchased clothes in I'm thirty nine.
It's my twenties.

Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
I believe that.

Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
I don't care. I don't care at all.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
He is The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (01:12:26):
Thank you so much for being with us here on
The Rick Burgess Show. Rick not here today had some
responsibilities that needed his attention, his immediate families keeping him
away from the show today. So hey, it's it is
dirty Calvin and the Boys or the Good Time Gang
or the B Team and water Boy and I guess
this is good news, right, But I guess ignore my

(01:12:49):
Instagram story that has Greg, you know, looking just so
fine standing there.

Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
This is what the response said in text.

Speaker 4 (01:12:56):
Nation anyway, Ryan too, Is it all righty? Our first
stock has already sold out?

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 5 (01:13:03):
That's what it says.

Speaker 2 (01:13:04):
Oh my goodness, that's crazy.

Speaker 5 (01:13:06):
I went to the website, went to the store, clicked
on the CD, tried to add it to my cart,
and it says, we're sorry, the following product is out
of stock.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
Oh wow, that is inane.

Speaker 5 (01:13:18):
Two hours?

Speaker 2 (01:13:19):
What what? But if you still want to see Greg,
you know what? And if you still want to see
Greg standing there, you can go to at Calvin Speedy
on Instagram and see the story and then we'll luck
contact him and see what's going on. I did we
already run.

Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
Through all of them, and they had they had a lot,
They had over well over five hundred in stock and
so already gone.

Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
You know what did it when you broke down and
presented it and talked about all of what the titles
and you pushed it right out of the salesman. What
about that salesman over that?

Speaker 5 (01:13:50):
Don't fret?

Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
Larry and Carolyn I know I've got I'm getting your text.
I can't always respond because they'll send some uh, but
you are getting your your hard copy. And so is
a little happy from Adler that he's he's told you
all you would get, so all that's coming in the mail.
So y'all don't fret. We got you, Bud and Adler's

(01:14:10):
coming to spend the night. Yeah, round two here comes out.

Speaker 5 (01:14:14):
I can't that night.

Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
The dog on Larry has a patch problem cut one
on CD two and so that's there.

Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
That is about seven cans and six seconds of gold.
It is.

Speaker 4 (01:14:28):
We talked to him about the fact that he's he's
a you know, obviously addicted to collecting patches, and every
conversation can't go.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
Back to patches, and he has a tough time picking.
He does. He's come along. What's gotten a lot better.
That was early twenty twenty five, when it was still real.
I will say this, the first year of the new show,
the Rick Burgess Show, Larry and Carolyn were a huge hit.
They were, Yeah, and we appreciate it huge. Yeah, it's
it's really it's really been fun getting to know them. Yeah,

(01:14:57):
I mean you really got to know them. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:14:58):
My favorite thing to do when Larry calls is so
he'll get on and be like, hey, wreck. My favorite
thing to do is go who is this? Because it's
very obvious.

Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
That's great?

Speaker 13 (01:15:10):
Who is this?

Speaker 5 (01:15:11):
Who's calling?

Speaker 13 (01:15:16):
Sure?

Speaker 5 (01:15:16):
Who's calling?

Speaker 2 (01:15:17):
Who are you?

Speaker 7 (01:15:18):
So?

Speaker 2 (01:15:19):
I have not recognized your voice. I have not gone
and looked.

Speaker 4 (01:15:21):
So you're saying when you click on store in the CD,
it's saying he's nothing wrong.

Speaker 5 (01:15:26):
No, I thought I was too, but I don't think so.
Sometimes I'm smart, I'm stupid. But there it is. Look, look,
we're sorry. Oh my look available zero.

Speaker 2 (01:15:39):
It says this, we're sorry. The following product is out
of sun. I don't know about that.

Speaker 5 (01:15:43):
Holy Mac, I don't I don't know, y'all. We're just
we're big time.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
Yes, pop don't love us. Just it's just hit. That's
not true, Greg, people do you know? People do watch it? Yeah,
but I'm saying they don't like it, but to go,
oh God, I better get it down. Five hundre know them.
It was let's see five twenty five, five twenty I
think that's what they had. I can't remember the over
five hundred. That's not Andler's dumped information.

Speaker 4 (01:16:09):
You can y'all's just lying text store to eight eight
eight six two four forty eight six A.

Speaker 5 (01:16:14):
Huge I know we forget this sometimes, but it's a
huge radio show, and five five hundred is not that
much to move it. For this large of a radio.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
Show, this early in the morning, I got to get
up all. Let me get on in there in order.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
You know, I mean there's five thousand people watching us
right now. Hey, y'all, just do the hip thrust like
you guys are doing. That's still five thousand scarred people.

Speaker 2 (01:16:37):
Who turned it off for just a second. Hey, question
on you putting the lights up? Yes? So, uh do
you clip them?

Speaker 5 (01:16:44):
I mean, how do you?

Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
What do you use to clip the tark Griswold with
the stable gun stable sleep couldn't get it all. Oh,
it's good.

Speaker 5 (01:16:55):
I actually y'all gonna make fun of this, But no,
I up with my own method of doing that. Because
the lights will have like a little plastic thing on them.
But depending on how your gutter is shaped, it might
have the bulb facing into the gutter or something like that.
And so what I did is I went and I

(01:17:15):
went to an office supply store and bought in bulk
binder clips, you know the it's not bad, and they
were cheap.

Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
I can buy it.

Speaker 5 (01:17:24):
I can buy a bazillion of them. They stick on,
they stick on good, they stay on good, and so
that's what I use. So I've got about one hundred
binder clips all around the roof of my and it
clips right on the shingle.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Okay, it doesn't.

Speaker 5 (01:17:37):
Stays on great.

Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
And you thought they were just for paper. No, so
let me ask you this. So you get to the edge,
you get to the edge. A lot of times I'm
not scared of hikes until I'm on the edge of
something and then I go and go hands up. So
you it to the edge.

Speaker 5 (01:17:52):
Now do you go?

Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
I'm laying down on my chest and and doing it.

Speaker 5 (01:17:56):
Yes, yes, I'm on the How do you go down?
That's just like you're doing.

Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
You need that that big phone thing whatever?

Speaker 4 (01:18:05):
Yeah, slide down the Yeah, that that keeps you from sliding.

Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
Buddy, where were you wearing you?

Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:18:12):
Now Adler's in the studio, and now it looks like
he is. He is getting up on the counter.

Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
He's getting on the So now you're on the roof,
you're in the game, Adler, what do you it's not.
This is a terrible view. There's not a flat surface
though that you're Yeah, normally he's scooting.

Speaker 5 (01:18:27):
Up on either side of the room. Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (01:18:31):
Okay, scotts here, uh huh. Yeah, and then okay, it's
like he's touching his toes, y'all. Spread you have the
center you every year, so there will be the right
length both ways.

Speaker 5 (01:18:45):
Yeah, I start, I know, if I start with one
and I go all around, it'll.

Speaker 2 (01:18:49):
Be fun, It'll be okay, all right, all right? Wow,
what were you wearing when you're doing all that? Just curious? Hey,
because you don't care. He doesn't care, y'all, didn't care.

Speaker 5 (01:19:05):
Since my twenty y'all, I am on the roof and
my my buddy neighbor walks past, and of.

Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
Course Burgess Show. Big Bucks Entertainment presents The Rick Burgess

Speaker 4 (01:19:43):
Thank you so much for being with us. We start
our fresh hour together, Hello America. I am Speedy alone
with Greg Burgess, Adie Van Adler. Rick has some responsibilities
with his immediate family that.

Speaker 2 (01:19:54):

We're getting out of stock responses. We are reaching out
to the merch folks to make sure that's real. And
the streaming option it's coming, but it's always a little delayed.
H and we wanted to make sure this was available

(01:21:04):
before Thanksgiving, and it is in house, and and Steve
and the crew does a great job communicating with everybody,
and uh, it's uh, it's a special day here. And
if it's already sold out, that's wild man. But thank
you all for your support. We love each and every
one of you. It's been a great it's been a
great year. I was sitting here, you know, it's really
I think, putting together these bits, it's it's really an

(01:21:25):
honor for me.

Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
It's it's fun.

Speaker 4 (01:21:27):
And I always take the computer home and get me
a workshop up in the house, and Terry's in the kitchen,
so she gets she gets a sneak peek of what
what all has been saved and she gets to laughing
walking around the house. And then I'll have to put
my headphones on because she has like a serious phone
call and wherever there yucking it up and stuff. But
it's it was a lot of fun to edit this

(01:21:48):
thing together. We've gone through a lot of the the
best of bits because a lot of you going, man,
what what's on there? You know, just rolling through the turtleneck.
Am I special? Rick won a Breakfast Award. Papa why
you bowlegged the Sunset Cruise with Captain Jack Gary meeting
some new friends in Nashville. Good one there, Adler and

(01:22:12):
his air squad challenge how to stop a dog attack?

Speaker 6 (01:22:15):
Y'all?

Speaker 2 (01:22:16):
Remember that?

Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
Good gracious Greg and his his man Buddy. You remember
in the Charity of the Past. That was awkward, But
the best of I was just what it was called
Polly the Chicken, the two of you pumping gas, shirtless,
unscreened phone calls. Larry has a patch problem. The food
Fight of nineteen seventy nine. We get to the bottom
of it, lock them up, bed and breakfast adventures. That

(01:22:39):
was awkward, Greg. What about the dog Doctor Powell's plant seminar?

Speaker 2 (01:22:44):
You remember Greg? Rick getting trapped there? I loved it.

Speaker 4 (01:22:47):
You running the headlines? Who was Boumont? Mary and cousins
Rick Bomont? Yeah, who was Boumont?

Speaker 6 (01:22:53):
Who?

Speaker 2 (01:22:54):
Break it down? A lot of history there.

Speaker 4 (01:22:56):
Rick's hip doesn't lie and forbidden word returns Adler. Uh,
And that one's got you, buddy, A big focus on you.
So anyway, two CD set and it's uh, it's out today,
but we're we're getting reports it's already sold out. But
it's a big day for the show. We thank all
of you for joining us. We've talked AI, We've talked

(01:23:16):
a number of different things. Uh, pickleball is it still
a big thing?

Speaker 13 (01:23:20):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:23:20):
We had to run. We had a lot of pickleball
talk on the show. At Pickleball, I really played it
a few times and that was funny. I feel like
on some maybe some quick Christmas list, there might be
some pickleball mattles. You know, there's some pickleball groups that
get together. I understand that it's still out there because
I see the courses.

Speaker 5 (01:23:37):
But I think the sport is still growing, but it's
not growing at the rate then it was. I don't
think it's a shrinking sport, but I don't think it's
as growing so explosively.

Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
And I may be wrong. It's the way I go
home every day and come to work every day. Yeah,
there's a pickleball court in Lincoln. That must not be
a lot of pickleball players in Lincoln. I never see
anybody on it, Huh, I don't.

Speaker 5 (01:23:58):
I don't know why.

Speaker 2 (01:24:00):
Diferent times. I don't know. I've come by a lot
of different times. I've never seen anybody on it. Have
y'all heard of Carmel, California or Carmel, California. I have not,
but I like car.

Speaker 4 (01:24:08):
It's a wealthy ocean front town in California. They have
banned pickleball banned YEP in its public park because the
residents complaining the constant sound of paddles striking the ball
is just too noisy. Well, now that it is a
weird sound we discussed does bring some noise, but you're
talking about to the point that.

Speaker 2 (01:24:26):
They can hear it in the neighborhood.

Speaker 4 (01:24:28):
Yes, uh residents reported the popping sound has been echoing
through the neighborhood as players participated in the game that
has grown to its popularity. We've talked about that it's
big with UH just every day folks, but also seniors
and retirees. They get out have a good time doing it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:45):
But theddle or something.

Speaker 5 (01:24:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:24:48):
That's because Greg, I guess you're the council there in
the city put a temporary ban in place last month
until it came up with a permanent solution. According to
the report, their best idea was to require soft paddles,
Greg and balls to reduce the noise from the plastic

(01:25:08):
ball hitting the wooden paddles.

Speaker 2 (01:25:10):
But then it's not pickleball. That part of pickleball is
that you're it's slightly irritating the noise that it makes
when it actually hits the paddle.

Speaker 5 (01:25:18):
Right, Let's listen to that real quick so we can
see what it would be like.

Speaker 2 (01:25:23):
Okay, all right, this is the noise of the paddle
hitting the ball.

Speaker 5 (01:25:27):
Yes, all right, all let's go what's wrong with you?

Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
Thank you for that? Thank you very much? What he's
wrong with you? What's so irritaining about that?

Speaker 5 (01:25:46):
I hear that every day in the production room with Greg.

Speaker 2 (01:25:50):
Wow, and I did not. I thought something might be
to tell, but I didn't think I thought he was
going to have some goofy person doing it. I didn't
know he was going to do that, all right, straight up?
I got a cute No, you're not getting me again here, Hey,
look at me?

Speaker 5 (01:26:07):
Straight up? Yeah, straight up? Because I guess it would
be annoying. You know, you're in your neighborhood, say you
live close to a pickleball corps.

Speaker 2 (01:26:13):
I don't know what to expect. Now, is this real? Youler?

Speaker 5 (01:26:17):
Stop?

Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
Somebody's trying to eat.

Speaker 5 (01:26:22):
I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, but there you go,
there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:26:29):
Here we go the way. You can hear that enough,
it's loud, it gets.

Speaker 5 (01:26:33):
Loud, it does. Oh yeah, yeah, that's good.

Speaker 2 (01:26:46):
He's trying to play too audios. He once look at me,
look at website. Something wrong with anniversary?

Speaker 5 (01:26:55):
Damn did uh So it's louder than Tennis.

Speaker 2 (01:26:59):
Hey, how about this residence sounds weird sometimes? Boy? Yeah? Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:27:03):
Residents, Uh, we're residents were quoted as saying it's been
so peaceful and quiet because of the temporary shutdown, and
then they can believe it. At a meeting, it says
the I just feel like if unless you live right
next to the court, there's no way that you can
hear it.

Speaker 2 (01:27:19):
Yeah, huh, I.

Speaker 5 (01:27:22):
Mean it's get carries. It does carry.

Speaker 2 (01:27:24):
I mean to that point that you can if you
just go in the house, you'll be fine.

Speaker 5 (01:27:28):
Yeah yeah, listen see I mean it's that clicking sound.
It's loud. All right, I'm done. I'm gonna close that out.
Look at me, look at me.

Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
We're not even twelve. I used to say, we act,
we're acting twelve. We're not twelve.

Speaker 5 (01:27:50):
Six years old.

Speaker 2 (01:27:51):
That's funny. I'm gonna tell you right now. River Wilburn.
Well down down, my grandkids will be following there.

Speaker 5 (01:27:57):
Again, I did not have to teach my five years
or my five year old daughters. But I did not
have to teach my two year old son that that's funny.
He just happens. If it happens, and he'll even do
like a fake laugh, like he'll burp like and then
I'll go ha ha, that was a fake laugh, ha ha.

Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
And how old is he, buddy?

Speaker 5 (01:28:21):
He's two?

Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Okay, yeah, we're the same. That's our target audience right now.

Speaker 5 (01:28:25):
We're the same. Yeah, I'm the same.

Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Well, wealthy California town has band pick a ball over
noise complaints from paddles hitting the balls, and so we got.

Speaker 2 (01:28:38):
A Surprobert gave an example and.

Speaker 5 (01:28:40):
Uh it's you don't want that egg?

Speaker 2 (01:28:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:28:44):

shows of any kind. Definitely can't watch pageants. I'm completely
out on that.

Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
Oh there's no way.

Speaker 4 (01:29:56):
Seeing the heartbreak on the faces when they're not announced
as the top ten or after her whole life there. Well,
Adler has this in front of us, Miss Universe. I
guess Miss Norway. Uh, you know, they they have their
talent and they have different things they come out in
and all this.

Speaker 2 (01:30:13):
Now, which one is this? Miss Usa, miss miss.

Speaker 4 (01:30:15):
Miss Norway, Miss Universe, Miss miss Norway.

Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
When you said Norway, Greg, that would it wouldn't be
Miss us A yeah, right?

Speaker 4 (01:30:24):
But you say she came out was this? What is
this the costume portion of of it? I mean, what
are we doing here?

Speaker 5 (01:30:30):
I think? So we remember we had like uh, when
the Russia Ukraine war popped off, that we had like
you know, the Ukrainian people came coming out as this
as like a symbol whatever we had the globe. It
was like the whole globe a statue of liberty kind
of craziness.

Speaker 2 (01:30:46):
Yeah, well, Award, I'm just gonna just have audio to
or just no audio audio audio.

Speaker 5 (01:30:53):
Just just as visual. Because she's fishing what we doings.

Speaker 2 (01:30:59):
She's a salmon.

Speaker 5 (01:31:00):
She's wrapped up in uh, Miss Norway.

Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Yeah, a piece of ain't supposed to what you look like?

Speaker 5 (01:31:07):
Well you're not ready, guys. What you talking about there about?

Speaker 2 (01:31:11):
This is the salmon. Salmon opens up, it opens up.
It's not cooked all the way through either. No, no,
it's not orange that. Hey, we need to we need to.
I think I think we need to come off this
back to the fish again. I think that you might
need to go back to the fish. That was weird

(01:31:33):
for missus Miss Universe pageant, and that was Miss Norway.
Yeah as a as a as a fish. Yeah, like
you would eat there she like on the plate, yes
yeah yeah, not not like dresses.

Speaker 4 (01:31:47):
Like the salmon that the bears upstream. You know what
I mean we're talking about. Hey, it's they lay it
on the plate, right yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
Yeah, So that if.

Speaker 5 (01:31:56):
You guys were in Miss Universe, what would you all dress.

Speaker 2 (01:31:58):
Is hine tree. That's not bad.

Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
For Alabama pine. The pines, a lot of pines. Okay,
there's a lot of pines.

Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
I think I would be.

Speaker 4 (01:32:10):
Probably an acorn, an acorn that looks just with legs
and arms coming out, but you know, the big body
of an acre.

Speaker 2 (01:32:18):
But you had.

Speaker 5 (01:32:20):
I'm going, uh connect a sausage.

Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
Oh yeah, of course you're perfect, you know, say it
right now?

Speaker 5 (01:32:28):
Yeah, yep, my face coming through it, uh huh, or
the jokes.

Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
Your face would have to be about halfway up because
you know, yeah, hm hmm. But the acrens are dropping
in the hardwood yall. That's what made me think, yeah, I.

Speaker 5 (01:32:46):
Need to plant some some acorn trees in the in
the landfill that I bought.

Speaker 2 (01:32:52):
In.

Speaker 5 (01:32:53):
You've got something in there, right, I don't know. It's
a lot of trash, a lot of garbage, a lot
of metal barrels.

Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
Someone was using it as there own dumb somebody was
using as a dump and I bought a dump somebody
that you live by.

Speaker 5 (01:33:04):
It's true.

Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
Yeah, so straight up you have barrels in the backyard.

Speaker 5 (01:33:07):
There's barrels back there. Once the leaves fall off of
my others, just a rusted barrel. I guess I'll get
this sitting up right or on the side, rusted, crumbled,
anything in it remnants?

Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
Oh no, it's crumbled remnants.

Speaker 5 (01:33:19):
Speaking of crumbling at the missionere the some toxic at
the Yeah, I wouldn't. I shouldn't like drink the water.
The Miss Jamaica fell. This was a different part. This
is a mermaid. She's just in a I think a
nice dress. I think. I don't know. I don't know
anything about clothes. I haven't bought in twenty years. Here's

(01:33:40):
Miss Jamaica walking. She's walking on a catwalk. She's got
a cool looking her.

Speaker 2 (01:33:45):
Ohh wow, she's gone.

Speaker 5 (01:33:47):
She walked off the stage. She's gone, y'all, walked off.
She had to be stretchered out. Look, she had to
be stretchered out and taken to a hospital.

Speaker 2 (01:33:56):
Oh gosh, she disappears. Oh, just throwing a hip out
walking too. Oh yeah, I'm oh there I go. I'm
not sure anymore. Yeah, And she didn't have a clue.
That was the end of the stage. You know the steps.
She just walked off into air. You know, I'm I'm
gonna step out on the limb here I believe that's

(01:34:16):
probably the only time that's ever happened. Think about it.
You're you're in your beauty, not just one. I mean
it's this miss universe, right, you end up injuring yourself
so bad they have to put you on a gurney
and you're in a nice dress. Yes, you're still in
a nice dress and heels and they have to strap
you to a gurney and I'm sure they put that
thing on their face where they can't move their head
to get you out of that. Well, that's never happened.

(01:34:37):
I bet we won't name any names, but we have
someone that has done that at a speaking event. Yes,
and he is still suffering.

Speaker 5 (01:34:44):
And that'd be true, be true, speedy, that's.

Speaker 2 (01:34:49):
Not I said, we're not gonna we're not gonna make anything. Yeah, hey,
that's wrong with him.

Speaker 5 (01:34:55):
When Miss Jamaica Feld just really had a great.

Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Here's what, Yeah, she give a thumbs up.

Speaker 5 (01:35:01):
When when she when she fell, the audience was like
freaking out here to check it out.

Speaker 2 (01:35:06):
This does have a no here you go, all right,
that's we're done with that. I'm not going to play
anymore idio from your day. They were shocked, freaking out
that was Miss Jamaica.

Speaker 5 (01:35:20):
Yeah, Mis Jamaica fell salmon.

Speaker 2 (01:35:23):
Hey, I mean I'm talking about she's like walking. Look,
she's practiced at walk so many times and then probably
never seen injury like that. That's like something at a
football game when they put them on the guarney and
haul them off.

Speaker 4 (01:35:37):
Well, when you have she was, when you have stage
lights in your eyes. Yeah, and it's from the audience,
it looks like, oh, that's no big deal.

Speaker 2 (01:35:46):
But a lot of times you're a little bit blinded
on the perception where you are. They said she fell
on top of the cello player, you know that below
the stage.

Speaker 5 (01:35:54):
Get in the pit.

Speaker 2 (01:35:56):
She fell on Miss Norway and was.

Speaker 5 (01:36:00):
Miss Dory. I don't know if those.

Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
That doesn't take talent.

Speaker 5 (01:36:07):
Oh no, there's the whole visual of it.

Speaker 2 (01:36:09):
Yeah, it was. There was there was that was a netting.
I think that she was fishing.

Speaker 5 (01:36:17):
Fishing. Does the whole pageant things seem weird once you
like an adult woman, Oh yeah, once you're like.

Speaker 2 (01:36:26):
The little kiddy, pageants are really weird. Oh boy, And you.

Speaker 5 (01:36:29):
Can be too old and you can be too young.
I think for pageants like why why are you putting
like full glam makeup on a thing.

Speaker 2 (01:36:37):
Remember the original Honeyboo boo. She was little, she was
in those pages. And they spent all this money. They
they call them flippers, were teeth, you know, when they're
losing teeth. They look kind of weird, right, But.

Speaker 5 (01:36:49):
That's because their kids should be able to look like kids.
I know you guys agree with me, but that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:36:54):
And if you watch on that show in particular, they
spend all this money and they do all these things.
They're at these the only people there are the parents
of the kids sitting in chairs going yes, and do
you have the sound of when she hit the floor? Yeah,
because I need to hear that.

Speaker 5 (01:37:12):
So the audience gasped, and she hits the floor, and
everybody's like.

Speaker 2 (01:37:19):
I did it again. I can't believe anything.

Speaker 5 (01:37:23):
He says, Hey straight up today, did y'all see speaking
of being in a few minutes, it's gonna be the
anthem singer that failed? Speaking of being in weird in
competitions as an adult, that seems kind of weird. Did
y'all see? Bill Belichick's girlfriend is in an adult cheerleading competition?
What league or whatever? Bill Belichick is there a competitive

(01:37:46):
He's there he's there.

Speaker 2 (01:37:47):
You're talking about the ones that all the gymnastics and
all that competitive I knew she was young. I don't
know she was that young.

Speaker 5 (01:37:57):
Well, she's in her twenty. It's an adult cheer competition.
And Bill Belichick sitting there watching y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:38:01):
Of course, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (01:38:21):
Hello America, and thank you for tuning into the Rick
Burgess Show. Rick off today, you had to deal with
some immediate family responsibilities and that's kept him away from
the show today.

Speaker 2 (01:38:32):
But it's Dirty Calvin and the Boys, the V Team
and water Boy, the Good Time Gang. Make sure you
if you're looking for a Christmas gift, and now is
the time everybody is thinking about Christmas and gifts, and
maybe you have that hard to find someone on your list,
but you know they love to read, or maybe they're

(01:38:52):
the man in your life that you're like, hey, I
think this book would be, I mean perfect for this gift.

Speaker 4 (01:39:00):
It's a signed copy of Men Don't Run in the Rain.
It's now available at the Manchurch dot com. Also rickburgesshow
dot com. Now it's it's not in the store at

it and order yours today. It'll be signed and delivered
to you. December sixteenth is the deadline. So that's why
we want to keep mentioning it so you can get
ahead of that and get your signed copy delivered right
to you. Don't want to just really hit everybody with

(01:39:41):
with just you know, sad news. But there's more information
coming out about this Charlie Kirk situation where this assassin
crawled up onto a building and assassinated Charlie Kirk. We
all we all know what has happened. Well now the

(01:40:02):
head of security for Charlie Kirk is speaking out. I
heard the breakdown of a lot of the aftermath. I
won't get into that because it's just so sad. But
he was on the Sean Ryan Show and his name
is Brian Harpole. He's a veteran law enforcement officer and
founder of Integrity Security. Solutions and he is now speaking

(01:40:25):
out two months after the assassination. He is security director
and head of security for Charlie Kirk and he said
that prior to the event, the rooftop was one of
their main concerns and he was promised by law enforcement
that the rooftop would be covered.

Speaker 2 (01:40:47):
So they assumed they had taken care of it. Yeah,
security people correct. Yeah, He's like, we handle this, We'll
take care of it. But yeah, so now here comes
the all the conspiracy theories inside job blah blah what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:41:01):
But Utah Valley University is where this was his security
director of this is speaking that Brian and said that
they had raised concerns about rooftop exposure, drawn restrictions, and
staffing gaps in the days prior to the September tenth event.
He said, and I quote, the chief told me, we

(01:41:24):
were talking to local law enforcement. We were told the
roof was covered. He said, and I quote, I got
you covered. And so he said, I took him at
his word. He said, we can't break the law. As
a security staff. We can't break the law and do
what needs to be done. We have to rely on
police and other agencies. That we work with at these
events to know what's up there and what's going on.

(01:41:45):
We're only we can only do so much because of
the restrictions we have.

Speaker 2 (01:41:49):
And you would think drones would be the easy way
to cover the roofs. Yeah, you know, to keep an
eye on at least that. But you're saying there were
issues where they wouldn't let them fly drum. Is that
what they're saying, Yeah, And he said he went on Yes.

Speaker 4 (01:42:03):
He went on to say in this, in this interview
or this podcast, he said he asked for additional security
based on previous high risk events. He recalled a Turning
Point USA appearance in San Francisco where protesters breached barriers
and his team had to fight its way out with
little law enforcement help. So he said, hey, we've seen
this before in San Francisco, people climbing fences and taking

(01:42:27):
over the streets. And he said because of those experiences,
it shaped our request for extra officers and aerial support
in Utah.

Speaker 2 (01:42:35):
And so he said, we were ahead of this, ask
this is what we need, and they said they would
providing but they didn't provide it.

Speaker 5 (01:42:40):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
He said, we were told this was this one was
open air surrounded by elevated ground, and I said, we
needed more eyes and more coverage, but we were told
it would be handled and it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
And it wasn't.

Speaker 5 (01:42:55):
Yeah, I wanted to watch this Brian Harpool episode on
The Sean Ryan Show. But the clip that I saw
of it was describing just the horrible aftermath, immediate horrible aftermath, awful, awful,
And I was like, you know what I do. I
need to listen to this. I need to learn, you know,

(01:43:16):
just for the sake of being on the air to
be able to talk about it. You guys know. I
was a huge Charlie Kirk fan. Yeah, And but with
him that, since that's the first clip I saw just
on social media, I was like, man, I'm I just
don't want to be super bummed out right now in
this moment, but I do need to go back and
watch it. I know that he mentioned that the initial

(01:43:41):
wound was so severe that Charlie's eyes went to doll
eyes kind of just nothing there, you know, and and
that the quote was these wounds are not compatible with life.

Speaker 2 (01:43:54):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (01:43:55):
And I think you did the best job just now
of cleaning that up because the graphic description that he
had to go into. And he even kind of stopped
and was silent. He was kind of breaking down a
little bit, just recapping. But how how horrible of a
scene it was.

Speaker 5 (01:44:10):
I got to pick the right afternoon to listen to that,
but I will listen to you.

Speaker 4 (01:44:14):
Yeah. He said that they brought twelve contractors with them,
nearly double its usual staffing, but there were limits confined
to them to about thirty meters around the stage. Yeah,
and so he said, iris responsibilities kind of stopped at
that bubble.

Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
Yeah. He said, this is not like the president, right,
you know the cigaret service comes in and they have
control of everything. Yeah, you know you're limited when you're
just you have your own security, right, He said, we
can't make arrest or block student buildings. That's law enforcements job.

Speaker 4 (01:44:46):
And so he said that the police department, which operated
a drone and swat unit, was never even asked to assist,
despite mutual aid agreement that they would be. They told
us and I quote, we were never asked to come,
he said. He specifically flagged student stairways leading to rooftops

(01:45:07):
that offered a clear line of sight to the stage,
like three meters to the right or ten to the
left that there was there was no shot and so
it had to be a precise angle. And he said
his team prepared to deploy drones to overwatch, but did
that what was denied authorization under FAA and campus restrictions.
So it was a it was because that was our

(01:45:29):
biggest thing. I remember after it happened, We're like, do
we not have rooftop security?

Speaker 5 (01:45:33):
Yeah, this is a direct side.

Speaker 2 (01:45:35):
And the way it was said, you had dropped down
elevated position, everything, everything, and uh and so now this
explains it.

Speaker 5 (01:45:41):
He was told that.

Speaker 2 (01:45:43):
It was they could only do so much. Yeah, and
they have to depend on local law enforcement to do
the rest. Yeah. And some there was communication breakdown or
as some people will say, an inside job.

Speaker 4 (01:45:53):
Yeah, and I don't know that to be true, but
it was a breakdown of some kind.

Speaker 2 (01:45:58):
But isn't it kind of weird?

Speaker 4 (01:45:59):
Like you go back to and I'm not trying to
to bring these two in, but you know, Butler Pennsylvania
and the assassination of Champau Trump, how did that guy
get up there? You know, how many eyes did he
have to to go through to get to that position?
And then you look at this this assassin and you go, well,
how did he get on a rooftop with direct eyesight

(01:46:20):
and line right to Charlie without someone stopping him. Well,
now you've seen the competent that Charlie's security team says, Look,
we have a bubble that we can control and that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:46:32):
And we were told the rest be taken care of,
and it wasn't, and they deemed it not necessary when
they were incorrect.

Speaker 4 (01:46:38):
Right, So this explains a lot and some questions that
we had following the assassination as to how in the
world someone would get up there and not be stopped.

Speaker 5 (01:46:49):
But he did also touch on all the conspiracies that
are flying around as far as people blaming say Massade
or even Erica Kirk. He touched on that. From what
I'm reading, he uh, he was quick to do to
try to debunk some of those claims claiming inside job

(01:47:10):
from people on his own security team, people that have
worked with Charlie Kirk for years, and how how hard
that's been for them to be accused of that, of
being part of that horrific incident that they were involved with.
And and you know, blaming Erica Kirk is just evil,
you know, we're seeing a lot of this from uh
And I will go ahead and just say it, Candace

(01:47:31):
Owens is not helping. And I don't think Candace Owens
has good intentions. I used to think that she was
just bad at deciphering evidence. But when when I see
her tactics of like her setting out a post that says,
like tomorrow on the show, We're gonna reveal so much
that you're you're not gonna believe it. This will change everything,

(01:47:52):
nothing will ever be the same when you're when you're
doing that, you're you're you're just building hype per clicks
and and for listeners, and you're exploiting a person's death.
I'm all for you, guys, know me. I am all
for getting to the bottom of things. But when you're
baselessly accusing someone's best friends and their spouse of somehow

(01:48:14):
being complicit or being okay with the murder of their
husband and best friend, you've gone past the point of
looking and asking questions. You are suggesting that these people
that are the closest to him did evil, and that
is evil and not okay. And you're And like I said,
I used to think that she was just not good
at evaluating information. I have now moved into she's doing

(01:48:38):
this for clicks, and she's not a good person, and
that's unfortunate, and I don't like saying that, and that's
just my opinion. But everything I'm seeing is she's just
driving hype and driving listeners. And when you say something
like this changes everything. And then you go on your
show the next day and you just ramble and make
baseless accusations without any evidence. That's the only conclusion I
can come to.

Speaker 2 (01:48:58):
Yeah, His head of security went on to say this
was a textbook example of what happens when lines of
authority aren't clear. He said, we couldn't act outside our jurisdiction,
and the people who could didn't, and he's like, we
can only control our bubble and working with local law enforcement.

Speaker 5 (01:49:16):
They told us areas.

Speaker 2 (01:49:17):
Will be covered, and then they deemed them not important
that yeah, we'll take a break, we'll be right back.
Don't go anywhere. That was an update. I'm sorry to
have to go through that, but that's the latest.

Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 5 (01:49:41):
It is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
Along with uh Greg Burgess and Chris Eddie Van Adler.

Speaker 2 (01:49:49):
I am speedy and we thank you for being with us.
Rick not with us today.

Speaker 9 (01:49:52):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:49:52):
And so we're rolling through the show and we have
been pushing the new Best of CD. We reached out
to the store just to get clarification on okay, the

you know, and so until we re up and get restocked,

(01:51:03):
too far like Gross and Crew. Yeah, you know, I
know what we've been going through this morning here, right,
and the sounds that ever has been playing.

Speaker 5 (01:51:12):
Yeah, yeah, man, pickleball sounds crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:51:15):
I didn't believe it. You leave all the Gross and
crew to us. Yeah, but when you call eight eight
eight six big Vox that's eight eight six two four
forty eight sixty nine, y'all play nice. You understand absolutely.

Speaker 5 (01:51:27):

Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:53:20):
I was gonna ask you all a question.

Speaker 12 (01:53:23):
Would you call griggs interaction and relationship with peanuts an
obsession or an addiction? O?

Speaker 2 (01:53:31):
This is a good question. It's obsession. I hung up
on that word. I don't know it's addiction. You're pretty,
you're pretty addicnousd to. I don't sit around going now.
I've seen you on Thursday when he had come to the
Bible study. You're like where. I don't. First of all,
I would never look like that. Why are you crying?

(01:53:52):
It's not an addictions because I don't wake up mill
night going I got to have a bag of peanuts.

Speaker 5 (01:53:56):
Yeah. But when you get your hands on him, it
all comes rushing back and you remember and you start
like crushing them up and like rubbing on your gumba.

Speaker 2 (01:54:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:54:04):
Yeah, you see that brown bag and your hands starts
shaking reaching for they're good.

Speaker 5 (01:54:11):
They are good.

Speaker 2 (01:54:22):
Doing, Man, We're blessed. Go ahead, hey, good deal.

Speaker 12 (01:54:26):
This is a quick question from yesterday's discussion about the
different flavored potato chips. I heard a lot of nose
on the bill. Pickles, thank god, barbecue. Oh yeah, where
does soall cream and onion come in?

Speaker 5 (01:54:43):
I'm not against it, I don't. I'm not against it.
I'm good with it. I'm with it.

Speaker 2 (01:54:48):
I'm hungry and there's nothing else there, then I would
eat it and it doesn't gross me out. But if
I have another option, I will always take the other option. Really, yep,
we have a story today that's a lumpet naked. Doritos
and Cheetos we gotta be naked, eat them with no
artificial dyes or flavors are going to hit the market soon.

Speaker 5 (01:55:09):
I'm in on that.

Speaker 2 (01:55:10):
No artificial dies or flavors, So, in other words, it's
gonna taste like a piece of cardboards. Good or styrofoams
will come in the nacho, cheese and cool ranch flavors,
while Cheetos will be available in puffs and flaming hot varieties.
We'll have to look into that.

Speaker 5 (01:55:27):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
I love cheetos. Oh they're a mess. You're talking about
a good old turkey sandwich with some cheetos. I'm in
or one of those things. When I look at it,
I go, I don't care nothing about that. And then
I eat one of them, I go, oh, yeah, I
want to hold backs thing. You know, the whole bag's gone.
I'm laying there in an orange all around my mouth,
just caked on, your finger caked onun screen phone calls
go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:55:50):
Hey, good morning, speedy, hey by hey. Yesterday, after listening
to uh you guys about the e bike, did anybody
pick up on the similarities to Barney Sidecar.

Speaker 2 (01:56:04):
Yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 6 (01:56:07):
There's some chances for some pranks.

Speaker 2 (01:56:10):
Yeah, you're right, you're right.

Speaker 5 (01:56:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:56:12):
The the AI picture of Adler funny, but yeah, that's
that's good right there, my friend.

Speaker 2 (01:56:19):
I like that.

Speaker 5 (01:56:20):
I love how they made him look so stupid all
the time, Holly funny show, huge goggles on him, just like,
let's get the wackiest stuff on him.

Speaker 2 (01:56:28):
They were way ahead of their time.

Speaker 4 (01:56:30):
Between that and gun smoke. I could watch it all day. Yeah,
that's when the world such a better place.

Speaker 5 (01:56:35):
Oh yeah, I don't think I've ever seen an episode
of gun smoke. That that's that.

Speaker 2 (01:56:39):
Don't ever say that. Don't ever say that again.

Speaker 14 (01:56:41):
Sorry?

Speaker 5 (01:56:41):
Is it ever funny or is it always so funny?

Speaker 2 (01:56:44):
You know, it's always serious? But I mean, Marshall, Marshall,
ll come.

Speaker 5 (01:56:48):
On, okay, I just I've never it was before my time?

Speaker 2 (01:56:52):
Did they only kiss one time? I think so? I
thought I thought the episode we were watching, uh the
other night, I thought was that episode they were going
to kiss and they never did?

Speaker 5 (01:57:00):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:57:01):
I fair it was all sad about it. I found out.
You know, I'm supposed to know a lot of trivia
on Mayberry. I saw an episode the other day that
there was a different actor playing Floyd. He was before Floyd,
but he was his character was still Floyd to Barbara.
It was a different guy.

Speaker 1 (01:57:14):

Speaker 2 (01:58:10):
It is the Rick Burgess Show. Well, I'll tell you what.
Some of the stories today have reconfirmed the world we
live in. Good Night, what aware?

Speaker 4 (01:58:20):
It's just a bunch of weird folks, you know, Rick
off today now with us.

Speaker 2 (01:58:25):
It is the Good Time Gang.

Speaker 4 (01:58:26):
I'm speedy, Greg Burgess, Chris, Eddie Van Adler all here today.
Uhler kind of flying high coming off the ninth wedding
anniversary celebration in his house last night.

Speaker 5 (01:58:38):
Put up Christmas lights on the roof. Yeh, not by anniversary,
not bragging.

Speaker 2 (01:58:43):
Just what happened. That's just what happened. Just what happened
is uh is? Is this week too early to like?
I know you put the lights on, but are you
turning them on? Yeah? Because the question I mean, like,
at what point do you go and we are festive outside?

Speaker 5 (01:59:02):
Well, you know, like I said, Christmas comes early at
my house. In fact, I'm on the roof at the time.
Neighbor buddy of mine walking his dog. He walks past.
I'm way up high from the and so we're talking.
I'm on the roof talking to hollering on the street
and it's like, oh, it looks like Christmas comes early
your house.

Speaker 3 (01:59:19):
It does.

Speaker 5 (01:59:23):
Yeah, I did have a little bit of that, like
I don't need to get involved with the conversation with
you fall to my death.

Speaker 2 (01:59:31):
Yeah, you got you gotta dollar in Christmas.

Speaker 4 (01:59:34):
Yeah, we don't do like major lights like you do,
but we do put like a wreath on the up,
you know, with the Christmas bow and some things on
the front porch, and I'd like to have that complete
before hunting season starts. Rifle season for us, always try
to clarify that because for a lot of people a
few bow hunt hunting seasons already started. But rifle season

(01:59:58):
for white tailed deer honting in Alabama opens up this weekend.
But I think it's a little early, so maybe could
is Thanksgiving week okay, or just wait till the Sunday
of Thanksgiving weekend?

Speaker 2 (02:00:11):
I mean, is it?

Speaker 5 (02:00:11):
If anything, I'm one week early.

Speaker 2 (02:00:13):
Okay, yeah, pretty much? Do you know that. There's certain
homeowners associations that in their rules you can't put it
up too early, like has to It can't go up
a certain amount of days prior to the holidays, and
it has to be down a certain amount of days after.

Speaker 5 (02:00:29):
Do you know what it usually is.

Speaker 2 (02:00:30):
It's about thirty I think.

Speaker 5 (02:00:32):
Oh wow, so it better be Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (02:00:36):
Yeah, certain, Greg, you would have well your outside stuff
was okay, inside it was, but look, we normally put
it up the Thanksgiving weekend, which runs the weekend ridden
out I think about it.

Speaker 5 (02:00:46):
Yes, that's what I'm saying. I'm done.

Speaker 4 (02:00:49):
There was a finished There was a cut through neighborhood
that I'm sure everybody hated cut us cutting through and
still and still is there. But back when the boys
were in school, I would I'd be cutting through there
a lot because going to get them and everything. And
there was this one house they kept their lights up
year round. They didn't turn them on until they were
around the house, and the ladder they used stayed leaned

(02:01:11):
up against the house.

Speaker 2 (02:01:12):
Just in case I want to be ready for just
leaning up there the whole time, the whole time. Come on,
I'm just saying that's But then again, though, they leaving
the lights on the house thing.

Speaker 5 (02:01:23):
Yeah about that, I will say that the front of mine.

Speaker 13 (02:01:27):
I know.

Speaker 5 (02:01:27):
You don't turn them on the front of my house.
You're not going to see a ladder. You're going not
gonna see junk. But man, in the back of my house,
I need to work on it because that ladder stays
there way too long.

Speaker 2 (02:01:39):
And his ladder.

Speaker 4 (02:01:41):
Yeah, oh man, So the CMA's wrong last night, Yeah,
a little bit of it. You're kind of our guy
when it comes to this. I can't but I see
the Red clay Strays. They performed.

Speaker 2 (02:01:56):
Him and the La Langley that song they do together,
one song of the Year and all kinds of Lanny
Wilson did good here. Yeah, I think I went to
Who not saying highlights looks like something I could watch,
but then I can't watch it live. It's such a
weird thing. I'm sorry, I don't get it. Whatever. But

(02:02:17):
it's this guy, Zach Top. Yeah he's good.

Speaker 5 (02:02:19):
Yeah he is.

Speaker 2 (02:02:20):
I'd never really heard boys like him. He can pick.
But yeah, it looked like it was. It was going
pretty I watched about an hour of it, then I
had to go to bed, and Who hosted Lane Wilson.
Laney did win. Okay, she did host it and she
did she did good too. Yeah she won. She won't
entertaining the year. I think she had quite a night
all that.

Speaker 5 (02:02:39):
Wow did Riley.

Speaker 2 (02:02:41):
When he had to come up here and make a
little speech? Did you text him and go, hey By,
you're looking good? No? I can't believe he hadn't changed
his cell phone number. I know, you know, he may
have at Zack Brown, he kept his cel phone number
forever and then finally he just changed it. Now I've
lost contact with him. At what point Riley going to
change his as we speak? But I have the number

(02:03:04):
that I called him. It's the same number when I
booked him to sing at my house.

Speaker 12 (02:03:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:03:08):
Yeah, so he's hung he's hung on to it.

Speaker 5 (02:03:10):
Yeah yeah, big night for Landy Wilson. My goodness, Zach
top New Artist of the Year. But he can shred Okay,
I'm in on that. He beat Shaboozie.

Speaker 2 (02:03:21):
Which money on Shaboozi.

Speaker 5 (02:03:25):
I saw Chabboozi performing at shows a year ago. So
how can he be New Artists of the when he's
already been on a Yeah that's happened before it happens
all the time. They do it all the time. Red
Clay Strays got vocal Group of the Year and they
broke Old Dominion's record streak. I don't know if you
guys know Old Dominion. And then Cody Johnson got Male

(02:03:48):
Vocalist of the Year and he ended Chris Stapleston's streak.

Speaker 2 (02:03:53):
A couple of performed and he was outstanding and his
band's really good.

Speaker 5 (02:03:59):
And if I didn't have my dad, I would want
him to be money. Oh okay, I didn't have my dad.

Speaker 2 (02:04:04):
Okay, say that again.

Speaker 5 (02:04:07):
If I didn't have the dad I have, I would
want Chris Stapleton to be my father.

Speaker 2 (02:04:12):
So you're going for funny. I studied, Yeah, I just
I wanted that to be clear. So when you hear
it on playback, you go, well, that was me. I
don't think he's enough, but that's fine. Yeah. Well, so
let me get to Chris Stapleton, and since you wanted
to be your daddy, you will know his story.

Speaker 5 (02:04:30):
Okay, So I just have he would have had Okay,
he would have been seven, so that's not gonna work.

Speaker 2 (02:04:36):
You were saying, and you would be younger. You're just
your dreaming. So his he's like kids are like three
and five something like that.

Speaker 5 (02:04:43):
Yeah, so we're real close in age.

Speaker 4 (02:04:49):
Uh so uh if if I have this right, Chris Stapleton, uh,
his story was is that he was behind the scenes
and a writer.

Speaker 2 (02:04:57):
Correct, Yes, and he wrote, but with that, he never
really even more aware than that he was going to
Vanderbilt to be a biochemist really something like that.

Speaker 5 (02:05:08):
And then he was in the steel Drivers for a
while and then he broke off and did his own thing. Yeah,
steel Driver's great.

Speaker 2 (02:05:13):
So when did he go, no, I'm in front of
the mic. Now, oh, I do you know?

Speaker 4 (02:05:18):
Do you know what I remember with Chris Stapleton when
I went now I like that guy is when he
got up on stage with Justin Timberlake and they did something.

Speaker 5 (02:05:26):
Well Tennessee whiskey Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (02:05:27):
Yeah, they did that together, and I was like, Hey,
this guy. I like this guy, like his style, like
everything about everybody wanted to be my daddy.

Speaker 5 (02:05:33):
I wanted to dad. I love him.

Speaker 2 (02:05:35):
So he was just he was just behind the scenes
and a writer. Yep.

Speaker 4 (02:05:38):
And then that so Greg kind of like when we
host Rainbow Omega event and all the writers you're up.

Speaker 2 (02:05:44):
There and they performed their own songs. That's something he
would have done, and then it just took off.

Speaker 5 (02:05:51):
Chris Stapleton was with the Steel Drivers from two thousand
and six until twenty ten, two albums. He was the
lead singer and guitarist. Twenty ten, O Coff did his
own thing, Conquered the World.

Speaker 2 (02:06:02):
Okay, Adler's daddy.

Speaker 5 (02:06:04):
Oh my father, second father? Yeah, all right, so be
my godfather. He could be my godfather.

Speaker 2 (02:06:10):
Okay, that works.

Speaker 5 (02:06:11):
Look if Belichick can date Jordan Huts fact, Chris Staple
can can be my day. Yes, that's going on. That
can go on.

Speaker 2 (02:19:53):
Just give me a sock that don't stand.

Speaker 5 (02:19:54):
I haven't even thought about it till now. What bothers
me is they have the Eagles at number thirty five.
I have in the top forty rock band or whatever.
They pick that up, and this list is garbage billboard,
your garbage thirty five. The Eagles come on, They're top ten,
easy top.

Speaker 3 (02:20:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:20:12):
I was just thinking. I was talking to Greg about that,
the Eagles.

Speaker 5 (02:20:16):
Yeah, bunch of bands higher than the Eagles. Paramore, They've
got pair of more higher than the Eagle. Yeah, no
offense to women or whatever or what.

Speaker 2 (02:20:26):
But still, yeah, still had an uncomfortable moment yesterday that
I'm just you know, it happens a lot with you,
I've noticed. Yeah, Well, how about do you spend the
majority of your day a little uncomfortable. I do, because
when you interact with the post, I hate that. I'm
so observant and so I hate that I want to
help people something. Yeah, now you're observant in Mine's two

(02:20:47):
different things, right, Well, it's like you got blinders on
and I'm very observant of what people are trying to do.
And if so, you're just very physically observed.

Speaker 4 (02:20:56):
Yeah, I see in need or yeah, and you put
some look the other way or fake a phone call
like you.

Speaker 2 (02:21:02):
Well, but you also will put people in need that
really aren't in need. Yeah, I've done that. Yeah, the
guy from stilling it slower, that's not a second. I
love it too. No.

Speaker 5 (02:21:14):
I was on a train in Italy and I thought
some lady was trying to get off. I was like,
stop the train, please stop, hold up, hold up, no,
don't tell me, and she just looked at me. She
was liked, and everyone on the whole train was like, dude,
you just stop the train for no reason. And I
was just like me Americano, sorry you were Indian. I
turned Indian.

Speaker 2 (02:21:37):
I yelled, hold up, hold up, you stop that.

Speaker 5 (02:21:41):
If you don't speak English, you don't know even if
you speak basically, you don't know what hold up means.

Speaker 2 (02:21:45):
Hold up, hold up.

Speaker 5 (02:21:46):
I thought she was trying to get off. She was
some old lady, and it's like, but she wasn't. She
was a door.

Speaker 2 (02:21:52):
She was squeaking the train just and so the train stop.

Speaker 5 (02:21:55):
Everybody's looking at me, and I'm looking at her and
my go and she's like, no, no.

Speaker 2 (02:22:00):
You try to make her get off the train. He
was trying to hold You think he was trying to
hold up.

Speaker 5 (02:22:07):
They probably thought I was saying this is a hold up.
Oh so yeah, I had a speedy moment. I'm never
helping anybody ever again. Ever.

Speaker 2 (02:22:15):
Well, I don't know if you want to do that.

Speaker 4 (02:22:18):
But yesterday ran into an elderly person as I was
entering the store, physically running to him, and I.

Speaker 2 (02:22:24):
Just kind of encountered him as I was. You know,
i'd have been rude if I had just walked right
past him and tried to help, because I thought he
had dropped something. He thought he had dropped I did
because he was looking down.

Speaker 5 (02:22:35):
He was like this.

Speaker 2 (02:22:36):
He was looking down like this, Yeah, and you thoughtbout
like ben over like okay now, and I'm like you,
I'm like, hey, sir, can I help you find something?
And he kind of he looked up at me like
this words, no, he couldn't stand here, And then I
realized he had that when people have been over with
and you were trying to make him stand up and
tell you what he was looking thought he was looking
for something.

Speaker 5 (02:22:55):
I thought something. I thought, what did you call it?

Speaker 2 (02:22:59):
Did he go, unless you're a miracle worker, No, what
do you call? Let me ask Syriah. Here you go,
ask Siri what what is? What is it called? When
someone I think there's been over and old, bend over
and olds?

Speaker 5 (02:23:13):
What he said? I see.

Speaker 2 (02:23:16):
Now that there's I think there's multiple reasons. Yeah, injuries.
Aging Adler was headed that way before he took on
his regiment. When when we first met him, he that
would have been him at sixty.

Speaker 5 (02:23:28):
You know what I'm looking down. It's called do Wager's hump?
Say that again. That's what Goodness said, do Wegersger's hump.

Speaker 2 (02:23:38):
It's somebody a man with dogger's hump. As I was
going into the state and I thought he had dropped
something and bless his heart, he was.

Speaker 5 (02:23:49):
Hump.

Speaker 2 (02:23:49):
I guess his wife or somebody was going to get
the car and bring it around. So he was just
show looked at and you thought he's looking on the ground.
He was looking on the ground for something, and I said,
can I help you, sir find something?

Speaker 5 (02:24:00):
He looked up like.

Speaker 2 (02:24:02):
But never stood up at all, could stand up. He
just turned his head up, you know. And I just
felt so uncomfortable. I don't know what to because looking
in and I realized, oh my gosh.

Speaker 5 (02:24:11):
So you said exactly what words to him?

Speaker 2 (02:24:14):
You fake phone call in that like you had to go.

Speaker 3 (02:24:16):
No.

Speaker 2 (02:24:16):
I just I was like, sir, can I help you?
And then when he when he just looked up at me, No, No,
that's not it. There been.

Speaker 5 (02:24:26):
That's a mild case of the screen.

Speaker 4 (02:24:28):
Like some people, bless their heart, some of the elderly
they can't. They all they do is look at their
shoes all day. They just can't look up that there
you go. So but now now if you got you
got a little bit of.

Speaker 5 (02:24:41):
Capos, Yeah you got that, I'll kick you in the.

Speaker 2 (02:24:46):
But no, it's the person is completely downposis is that?

Speaker 5 (02:24:51):
That's no, that's like bone density going down. Yeah, old
ladies get that.

Speaker 2 (02:24:55):
Anyway. Anyway, I was like, oh, I'm sorry, sir, I
thought you had dropped something. He never stood up. He
just I don't know that he had actually heard me.
So if I if I would have just said hey
and kept walking. But yeah, y'all that happened.

Speaker 5 (02:25:12):
Posture is so.

Speaker 2 (02:25:14):
Important, Thank you, buddy. It is so important your vertebrates.

Speaker 5 (02:25:21):
Your vertebrate can actually get compressed so that it changes
the shape of it so it's not like a square anymore.
But it's like they're souper over slanted. Yeah, I mean, y'all,
it's so important. I'm just telling you.

Speaker 2 (02:25:33):
Well, some of it is is well I don't know
really what I'm talking about, but might somebody might have
had great posture their whole life, and they started developing
that as I got older. Yeah, before you know it.

Speaker 5 (02:25:43):
Because they got lazy, right, is what you're saying.

Speaker 2 (02:25:45):
No, I'm not lazy, No, no, But picture of that
moment at the entrance of a store, I'm going in,
he's coming out, Well, he's just standing you're ready to
pick some change or something dropped up for I thought, well, maybe,
bless his heart, he's dropped something, and so I'm like, hey,
can I help you? And he just nobody looked up
at me and I thought you dropped something. I didn't
have to say that. I could have just said, oh,

(02:26:06):
I'm sorry. I didn't have to say I thought you
dropped something. Then that looks like, well, oh, yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:26:12):
I'm sorry. You're a freakish spine made me think you
would drop something on the ground.

Speaker 2 (02:26:17):
When you laft he said, nice shoes.

Speaker 5 (02:26:19):
He did not, y'all. Oh my goodness, speedy reminded me
of something. I was at a nice restaurant, a nice
one with my wife, and I look over at another
table and there's a chapstick underneath a lady's chair. So
I go to the restroom. I'm coming back from the restroom.
I'm thinking, I'm gonna be sharp and helpful. Oh, I
got a I got an eye.

Speaker 2 (02:26:40):
From spot things.

Speaker 5 (02:26:42):
Look, I look around, I see stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:26:44):
I go down.

Speaker 5 (02:26:45):
I pick up the chapstick, and I go, is this yours?
And she looks at it, and she looks at me,
and she goes, no, no. And it was dark in
this nice restaurant, and I realized I'm holding a grimy
chapstick a foot from the lady's face, but it's also
a foot from my finger, and I'm just like this

(02:27:06):
horrible I was like, oh sorry, and what now? What
do I do with it? I'm just holding grimy chapstick.
Took it back to the table and threw it under
my table, and I was just embarrassed for the lips.
I was just embarrassed the rest of the day.

Speaker 2 (02:27:18):
Let me tell you what you don't share, and that's chapstick. No, No,
you do not share your lips. Might as well make out,
might as well got that woman this text nation here,
my mom has bent over halfway because of back surgery
that went wrong, Adler. Not just bad posture.

Speaker 12 (02:27:36):
I was.

Speaker 2 (02:27:37):
She was that way until she passed away in twenty
twenty one.

Speaker 5 (02:27:42):
Mm hmm. Look, I'm allowed to make fun of bad posture.
I have bad posture. It's like midgets are allowed to
say midgets Black people are allowed to say that, and
I'm allowed to I'm allowed to make fun of bad
posture because I also have that. That's just the rule
of society.

Speaker 2 (02:27:55):
Guys. At this point, I wish I was. I wish
I was going off today.

Speaker 5 (02:28:02):
And in fact, this is me at the restaurant. I
don't know here, I am talking to the lady at
the restaurant.

Speaker 7 (02:28:07):
Here here it is.

Speaker 5 (02:28:09):
If you want it.

Speaker 2 (02:28:09):
Yeah, what you got.

Speaker 5 (02:28:17):
That's me at the restaurant when she said that's not
my chapstick. That's the sound I made. I'm gonna sitting
there holding grimy chapstick.

quite uncomfortable, but we have heard him.

Speaker 5 (02:30:13):
Just hard hitting news.

Speaker 2 (02:30:14):
Yeah, this one here is kind of interesting. Greg, you
might really know what this is, Adler? Do you?

Speaker 9 (02:30:21):
If he lets go of you, you're gonna fall over
you and that you and that old man just follow it.
Tip my finger with your eyes, and your eyes only,
don't move your head. Follow it. You gotta track my finger.
That's where I've always had a problem. Which one my
what is your e F D.

Speaker 6 (02:30:44):
Have ver?

Speaker 5 (02:30:47):
Wow?

Speaker 9 (02:30:49):
Would you believe you're impaired?

Speaker 13 (02:30:52):
Once?

Speaker 2 (02:30:52):
I believe he's impaired to Yeah, normally you can't wait
a minute. So somebody's obviously taking us a test. Yeah, Okay,
they got to follow the finger you came off your head,
you mean just your eyes right, which is hard to do.

Speaker 5 (02:31:05):
You know about that?

Speaker 2 (02:31:08):
The line is really hard. Uh, I don't know anything.
This story would start with a Florida man. Oh, it's
always a no.

Speaker 4 (02:31:15):
It's why is it always a Florida man, A Florida man,
a drunk driver. No, was pulled over and he tried
to blame it on a medical condition.

Speaker 2 (02:31:25):
Okay, he claims that's why he can't follow the fingers.
But he couldn't even pronounce the medical condition. I got
You want to.

Speaker 5 (02:31:32):
Know why because he seemed loaded?

Speaker 2 (02:31:34):
Yeah, because he was way past the limit. And you
know what, I think at this point the test didn't
really necessary. Let's just go straight to the breathalyser.

Speaker 5 (02:31:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:31:42):
Christopher Johnson, Uh, he was arrested for duy uh and
that was him trying to get through his field sobriety
test by the officers. He tried to blame it on
a medical condition. And what condition was it? Trying to say?

Speaker 5 (02:32:03):
Guy, he looks rough. Oh yeah, he looks like he's
been run over by a truck. I'm not trying to
be rude, but I mean.

Speaker 4 (02:32:10):
Wow, oh no, oh, yeah, he is. Here is Greg
a little bit like you? What looks it looks a
little bit like him? But yeah, this is crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:32:20):
Them, this is.

Speaker 5 (02:32:21):
Them following him there he is. Oh gosh, this is good.
I haven't screened this.

Speaker 2 (02:32:25):
Hey, hey, can I tell you this right now too?
And we're not saying, oh, look at this funny.

Speaker 5 (02:32:29):
This is danger.

Speaker 2 (02:32:30):
He can kill somebody, look at it.

Speaker 5 (02:32:33):
I haven't screened it.

Speaker 2 (02:32:34):
Okay, Oh yeah, oh yeah, I think just don't get
get out of the guys. He was driving. People were
on the road around, not get out of the car.
There's a crack. Now we're seeing crack.

Speaker 9 (02:32:48):
Because I'm not even gonna try. Just follow it. Tip
my finger with your eyes and your eyes only, don't
move your head.

Speaker 3 (02:32:58):
That's where I've always a problem.

Speaker 2 (02:33:03):
Look at the guy, what is your e.

Speaker 9 (02:33:06):
FD hyper after hyper after And would you believe you?

Speaker 2 (02:33:16):
Yeah, that's a no brainer. That's a no brainer. Yeah,
how you officers, I've talked about this. You just never know. No,
you're sitting there one minute, next minute, this guy was
behind the wheel. Yes, scary, Yes, I mean did you
hear those other cars buzzing by? He was on the
road with those other cars scary.

Speaker 5 (02:33:35):
Yeah, let's just bring self driving cars in here. Actually,
now that I think about it, we got people looking
at their phones that just are texting and playing fish
Brain or whatever. I don't know what you know, the
game you know. And then now you got this. Let's honestly, the.

Speaker 4 (02:33:47):
Way you have been on the way you've been talking,
I think that you're close to getting in Tesla, all right,
I do, because he's in, he's done research and he's
all off in it. I mean, you seem like you're
really on fire for this.

Speaker 5 (02:34:01):
I don't want to get ahead of myself. I can't
afford it or anything like that. Plus, I just bought
this van up.

Speaker 2 (02:34:06):
Like the van.

Speaker 5 (02:34:07):
I do like this van, the van, but the y'all,
the act of driving is a hassle and that's lazy.
That's I know, that's lazy. I know it's lazy.

Speaker 2 (02:34:16):
So you won't self driving vehicles too lazy to drive?
What you're saying, it's is that what he's saying. He
said that driving is annoying. Buddy? Do you you don't
want to do washing.

Speaker 5 (02:34:28):
All your dishes byhind? You like washing all your dishes
and drying them by hand. It's the same exact.

Speaker 2 (02:34:35):
No, let me tell you some I don't trust it. Yeah,
they may lock the doors take me somewhere. Yes, you
don't know that Illuminati has got something to do with it. Yes,
you cannot get out, You're stay in here with me.
I just how about okay?

Speaker 5 (02:34:51):
And you've reached your max mileage for the month staying
you know, I get it, I get it.

Speaker 4 (02:34:57):
It's hard for me to fall asleep with somebody else's drive.
I can't imagine a car is just in control and
I'm just laid back and I'm just at the mercy
of whatever this car is doing.

Speaker 2 (02:35:08):
Don't you have to do certain things to show that
you're still away? Yes and all that.

Speaker 5 (02:35:12):
Yes, So my wife's car is a is A I
don't want to and it's it's a it's newer, and
it has the lane keeper, which have you guys ever messed.

Speaker 4 (02:35:23):
She realized how bad you drive and almost push you back,
like get over here.

Speaker 5 (02:35:27):
So you guys have messed with that before.

Speaker 2 (02:35:28):
And if you get close to somebody you're still driving,
well that I can.

Speaker 3 (02:35:33):
Turn you know.

Speaker 2 (02:35:33):
Yeah, Well there's a lot of that, and I know
a lot of you that have them that and Hoby
has one and he loves it immediately. But but I
disconnect that feature.

Speaker 4 (02:35:43):
It's just it's just a hard stuff for me to like,
okay and go.

Speaker 2 (02:35:46):
They're too sensitive sometimes the things.

Speaker 5 (02:35:48):
I mean, come on, you can change the gap, but
what it'll keep you know, how how close or whatever?
But uh, and the textures backing me up on this, Uh,
they're the Tesla driver themselves. So take that for what
it's worth. But the most sent on the new full
self driving Supervised do you still have to supervise it?
But it's like literally ten times safer than humans as

(02:36:09):
far as accidents per Miley get you, as far as
accidents per mile, it's ten times everything. Yeah, because people
are so smart and never do anything.

Speaker 2 (02:36:16):
Stupid like this last guy.

Speaker 1 (02:36:18):

Speaker 5 (02:38:50):
I do, I don't.

Speaker 2 (02:38:51):
I don't use a fitness guru dyeing exercise, and she
was one of those yeah yeah, oh like I mean
she didn't come up with tabo or any of that.
She was in that same Yeah, she was in that
same ground.

Speaker 5 (02:39:03):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (02:39:03):
She was. She was pretty popular her body by Jake.

Speaker 5 (02:39:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:39:07):
Yeah, she was the ninety nineties fifth Fitness Icon.

Speaker 5 (02:39:11):
Yeah she was.

Speaker 2 (02:39:13):
She was apparently too. In her private life. She had
a military cut. Susan powder Uh p O W T
E R okay.

Speaker 6 (02:39:21):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (02:39:21):
The she shot the.

Speaker 2 (02:39:24):
Stopped the insanity Lady from the nineties, Remember well, Jamie
Lee Curtis made a documentary about her. It says here
she went from three hundred million to welfare and driving
uber eats three hundred million, three hundred million, three hundred million. Yeah,

(02:39:46):
she was very popular.

Speaker 4 (02:39:47):
Yeah, over thirty years after she splashed onto pop culture
scene with her weight loss VHS tape stopped the insanity.

Speaker 5 (02:39:58):
Uh, it it is? It is.

Speaker 4 (02:40:01):
It's a story of how you can fall from millions,
millions of dollars and lose it all.

Speaker 5 (02:40:07):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:40:08):
And it's a it's a documentary. Is that's out?

Speaker 5 (02:40:11):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (02:40:12):
And the trailer is in here. It's actually it says
it's going to be in select theaters. Stop the Insanity.
Finding Susan Powder is now playing in select theaters.

Speaker 2 (02:40:22):
You don't remember?

Speaker 5 (02:40:24):
I do, No, I do.

Speaker 2 (02:40:25):
Yeah, Jamie Lee Curtis this documentary about her, and it's
in select theories theaters, I should say, And she just
buzz cut.

Speaker 5 (02:40:35):
Yeah, unless she stand eminem.

Speaker 2 (02:40:38):
I think she's a lesbian. I believe I thought she
had kids and all that.

Speaker 5 (02:40:44):
Speed's got her lesbian?

Speaker 2 (02:40:45):
Yeah, she she supposedly lost tons away to get in
the show.

Speaker 5 (02:40:49):
I hope I'm right. If not, that was a little thick. Sure,
some people like it.

Speaker 2 (02:40:54):
Seems like she Oh, no, one, she's not.

Speaker 5 (02:40:56):
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (02:40:57):
If I said that she.

Speaker 5 (02:40:58):
Got a buzz cut doesn't mean she's no. I thought
she was on Fresh Prince.

Speaker 2 (02:41:03):
Yeah, that boy. I hope I'm right, Erica, I didn't help.

Speaker 5 (02:41:06):
Should I google that?

Speaker 12 (02:41:07):
No?

Speaker 5 (02:41:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:41:08):
Absolutely is she? Oh it's funny it says here that
lady was strivings hinder icon Susan Powder is a total lesbian.
I don't think most women should meet a man.

Speaker 5 (02:41:21):
Okay, oh, there's there she is, now.

Speaker 2 (02:41:24):
Let me say there she is?

Speaker 5 (02:41:26):
Oh wow with without the blonde hair died. I don't
recognize her because now in some of it she's got
brown hair. But wow, Yeah, just like stand from eminem.

Speaker 2 (02:41:37):
You don't speaking of lesbians. Huh. Kevin Spacey reveals he's
currently homeless seven years after the assault scandal. Kevin Spacey.
Spacey says he's homeless. Yeah, but when you read into
when he says homeless, you know, I'm living in hotels
and there bnb's. He's still kind of working. He's not

(02:41:58):
back to where he was obviously, he said, despite earning
a reported five hundred thousand per episode. When he was
at a House of Cards, he was near it was near bankruptcy.
He said it was discussed but never got to that point.
So the headline says, I pictured him laying on the street,
did John I, oh, yeah, when you says he just
doesn't have a home, that he's bawled out there are
homeless people that are really homeless, going no, you're not homeless,

(02:42:20):
but he is currently doesn't have a home. He stays
in hotels and he's working his way back up in acting.
And he got I didn't know this cleared of all
the charges that he got in trouble about. It got
really yeah, will but will he ever work again or
has he just been?

Speaker 5 (02:42:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:42:38):
I think probably they you know, let's just call it.
The guy was a good actor.

Speaker 5 (02:42:41):
All this stuff was good, great actor, scary good. But
the House of Cards was well. There were a couple
of scenes where I'm like, yeah, that didn't need to
be in my brain for the rest of my life,
but a lot of it was great.

Speaker 2 (02:42:54):
So if he said he has not lost faith in
the possibility of a career resurrection, M well, you know,
and the like I say, it's u you know, it
was all he got caught up in the reverse me
too movement. Yeah, that's what I was about to say
for those of you, that's what okay, really.

Speaker 5 (02:43:13):
Me too, I think it's just still just me too.
It's not reverse me too.

Speaker 2 (02:43:16):
Oh okay, okay, but it gave me reverse. Yeah, if
you're not up on Kevin Spacey, and it's as clean
as you can explain what what got him? But a
little bit more D forced himself on somebody here we go.
Isn't that it?

Speaker 3 (02:43:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (02:43:32):
Is it more than one? I think? So there was
a London, a London criminal trial. Uh, and then there
was a New York civil trial in the London criminal
try that trial that occurred in twenty twenty three. He
was acquitted of nine charges, including SA after a four
whek trial in London, and that involved four men. Wow,

(02:43:53):
and I'm not going to read okay. And then the
civil trial, Spacey was found not liable in a civil
suit in New York City who accused Spacey of misconduct
when he was fourteen.

Speaker 2 (02:44:04):
Oh yeah, but he's been acquitted of all of it, right, Yeah,
Well if that's the case.

Speaker 5 (02:44:10):
And other allegations have been made, but the charges were
dropped earlier this year due to issues like witness unavailability
and so yeah, he's been cleared of all charges. Yeah,
in the UK and the US.

Speaker 4 (02:44:26):
See when I when I hear his name, I don't
think cleared of all charges. The way the way I
had it is he was guilty of everything. I missed
that whole part.

Speaker 2 (02:44:34):
Yeah, the majority of us have yeah, majority of remember
he got caught up when all that was you know,
everybody was, which I mean, if you do something wrong,
you should be Yeah, but I don't. I mean, he
had his day in court. Is he not doing interviews
screaming from the mountaintop y'all I'm innocent. Yeah, I don't know.
He does acknowledge he was a jerk and the way
he treated people, he did acknowledge that. Okay, yeah, he

(02:44:56):
was kind of a jerk.

Speaker 5 (02:44:58):
And I know he's done an interview talking about he
doesn't have a house. Yeah, he's how he's quote unquote homeless.

Speaker 2 (02:45:03):
Yeah, but he said that he was near bankruptcy. But
then he said it was discussed, but it never got
to that point. Hmm.

Speaker 4 (02:45:12):
Now is he Hey, the court found me not guilty,
but everybody knows he is kind of thing.

Speaker 5 (02:45:17):
Well, yeah, you don't have the proof kind of thing, right, I.

Speaker 2 (02:45:20):
Think, Well, and I don't know. I'm asking because it
seems like he's still been blackballed.

Speaker 5 (02:45:24):
You've been a bad person and we can't prove anything criminally,
but you're obviously a bad person. Kind of thing I
think as west landed.

Speaker 2 (02:45:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:45:34):
Interesting, Well this has been an uplifting segment, but it's uh,
it's just an update. It's an update on kind of
what can happen. Yeah, she boy, she had it all
three hundred million to welfare, to being a driver for
auber Egs.

Speaker 2 (02:45:49):
What if she brought your food to you? Hey, delivered it,
but she told you not to eat it all because
it was gonna make you fast?

Speaker 5 (02:45:55):
Right order?

Speaker 2 (02:45:57):
That is your order, grilled chicken.

Speaker 1 (02:50:08):

Speaker 7 (02:50:09):
I know something with Adler. He's all hyped up and
he's all running off the rail this morning. I'll take
you jump into that anniversary sugar last night.

Speaker 2 (02:50:15):
Oh that may be true. Love gets after it. He
sure is gunning happy all right. Next call, he's skipping
around the round, got the lights up, ragging.

Speaker 4 (02:50:27):
That's just what happened. Eight eight eight six Big Vox
unscreen phone calls, you're live, Go ahead.

Speaker 7 (02:50:35):
Hey guys, Bruce and Nashville.

Speaker 13 (02:50:37):
Hey Adler, Yeah, yeah, all right.

Speaker 7 (02:50:41):
So I wanted to affirm something that you said.

Speaker 13 (02:50:43):
So I was in the drive through yesterday and the
girl that's running the window, she just reaches to her right,
grabs a bag that somebody put on the counter for
Pivot's one hundred and eightygrees to the left, hands me
the bag, and at the same time she hands me
an iPad and she goes, it's going to ask you
a question. I'm like, first of all, the iPad isn't

(02:51:04):
asking me a question.

Speaker 7 (02:51:05):
Okay, you guys programmed the questions in.

Speaker 13 (02:51:07):
It's not running around with little legs running up to
people ask them for money. Why don't you just own
it and say you're going to ask me for a tip?
So okay, I get the iPad. I look at it
for options twenty percent, twenty five percent, thirty percent or other.

Speaker 7 (02:51:23):
Okay, well, obviously I click.

Speaker 13 (02:51:25):
Other because I'm looking for zero. I click other, takes
me to another screen. It said custom amount, but it
wouldn't let me put in zero. So now I'm hung
up in this other screen. I can't go backwards. I
can't go forward.

Speaker 7 (02:51:38):
The line's backing.

Speaker 2 (02:51:39):
Up behind me.

Speaker 13 (02:51:40):
I'm in a quag And finally I go, you know what,
I just I just want to sign it and go
that's all I want to do.

Speaker 7 (02:51:46):
And she takes it and she looks at me and
she goes, oh, so you don't want to leave a tip,
and I'm like, no.

Speaker 6 (02:51:51):
No, no, no, not try to do that.

Speaker 13 (02:51:53):
Don't do the public embarrassing thing. So it's out of control.
We just assume everybody gets a tip and it starts
a twenty percent wy It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:52:02):
No, matter what my point on this, especially in that situation.
So the seven dollars for a cup of coffee is
not enough, right, it's a cup of coffee. You've got
six back for that. Just saying, well, you went right
to it, didn't you?

Speaker 5 (02:52:15):
Of water of water? Shoulder of water.

Speaker 2 (02:52:18):
Is I'm just saying, with that perspective, yeah, hey, eight
eight sixty sixty coffee put in perspective, buddy, Hey, you're live, go.

Speaker 5 (02:52:28):
Ahead, y'all told bother one over shop.

Speaker 2 (02:52:33):

Speaker 5 (02:52:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:52:34):
You just didn't sound good. I tried to. He says
that high is that high pitch?

Speaker 5 (02:52:41):
You're on?

Speaker 2 (02:52:41):
Sunscreen? Phone calls go ahead, sunscreen?

Speaker 14 (02:52:43):
Okay, I twenty for mobile. I called yesterday Marien netflick
Yeah yeah, language warning.

Speaker 2 (02:52:51):

Speaker 14 (02:52:53):

the Marines get on the navy ship they rag each
other bad.

Speaker 4 (02:53:00):
Oh boy. Oh right, that's on my that's on my list.

Speaker 1 (02:55:11):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (02:55:32):
It's the Rick Burgess Show, and we thank you for
being with us.

Speaker 4 (02:55:36):
Rick is uh taking care of responsibilities with this immediate
family will Uh And he's been away from the show today.
So it's been a good time game all day and
we have enjoyed our time with you as always, and
we thank you for your support. You know, we were
we were talking about this dear season for US rifle
season starting this coming weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:55:57):
The weather's not really cooperating. It's not the greatest hunting
conditions where we live. It's heaby gonna be a little
wet and hot, so hot. Something about hunting in a
T shirt. Yeah, and you know, light clothes, you just
just don't feel it. And look in this part of
the country, it can be the end of deer season
and still be hot. It's crazy. I'm going on closing

(02:56:19):
at the end of January. Yeah, and feel like I
need to take my shirt off. But then next week
it be frees high thirty. You know, you just never
know here, but I know that both of you are
blessed to be in an area where you see deer
in your yard. I mean, Lucy just sent me a
picture of one. She was watching out the window and
the worst season standing. I'm talking it's probably ten feet

(02:56:41):
from the realities, and the dogs busted it, run it off.
She said. She was drinking her coffee and joined watching
the dough out there walk around and here comes the
gold dust twins. Buddy usually don't bother them much anymore
because he's used to them. But I guarantee him really
started it. Oh that sounds just like her right off.

Speaker 13 (02:57:00):
Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (02:57:01):
But feeders out there, and they'll come up and meet
the bird seed. How far do they chase it? They
just kind of spoop it till it gets out of
sight and then they turn around, come back and lay
back on the porch. The deer go after bird seed,
Yeah they do.

Speaker 5 (02:57:13):
I didn't know that. I'm learning about all this stuff, guys,
you know.

Speaker 2 (02:57:17):
Yeah, well, I mean, I don't know if i'd put
it like in a feeder but yeah, but they'll go Yeah, he'll.

Speaker 5 (02:57:23):
Leave it on the ground berg of messy.

Speaker 2 (02:57:25):
And plus I'll scoop some of it up and when
it gets all wadded up and throw it in the woods.
Oh do you Yeah, they go at it. They'll come
at it. You'll see them stand at the edge it.
Oh really yeah, huh wow.

Speaker 4 (02:57:36):
Well, you know the the the annual Hey, spend the
night down at the Leonois farms and wake up and
opening hunt and so just being around you know, Tommy
and David and the crew and and all that that.

Speaker 2 (02:57:52):
That's what it is a lot of fun. Of course
you do want to go out and have a great
hunt too, But yeah, we all said that. The hanging out,
the eating. Yeah it's breakfast. Oh yeah yeah, high high Saturday,
seventy six, seventy six yipper. A little rain in the morning,
that h that kind of puts a damper on things.
So you can hunt your tank top Hunter's orange tank top.

Speaker 5 (02:58:13):
Yeah, you need to bring a fan to the shooting
house here. You really don't want to.

Speaker 2 (02:58:17):
You don't want to show away mosquitoes while you're No,
that's normal, not which you want to do. Adler, This
is really a nice This is nice. That's a nice
deer on that landfill. Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 5 (02:58:28):
The landfill is right over here.

Speaker 2 (02:58:30):
How about neighborhood deer. Neighborhood deer just live a different life.
Yeah huh. They shrutting around a little saint nowhere form. Yeah,
not at all, not at all.

Speaker 5 (02:58:39):
Not yet.

Speaker 2 (02:58:40):
The only thing he's got fear as a car. Yeah,
that's it. That's that's away from the road, and he's fine.
He'll live to be old. Oh yeah, so old, because
he's never going because when AATA goes out there to
try to hunt him, he's not gonna come out. You'll
never see him again, right right right.

Speaker 4 (02:58:55):
For those of you that get the audio only option,
we're showing video footage of a here, a nice buck
coming up in Adler's backyard. Yeah, coming right out of
the landfill.

Speaker 5 (02:59:08):
There he is, y'all. The I mentioned I had to
take an uber to go pick up my van.

Speaker 2 (02:59:14):
It was in the shop, shocking.

Speaker 5 (02:59:16):
The uber driver was a lady from you know, a
more urban environment, and so getting out in the sticks
in my neighborhood, a deer crossed her path and it
was she was she drove so slowly out of my
neighborhood because she was Yes, it was so funny. I
was like, ma'am, it's okay. I promise we'll be all.

Speaker 2 (02:59:36):
Right, trying to talk it through. Yeah, she is the
mother of an NFL player. Yes, yeah, that's fun for
the Falcons.

Speaker 5 (02:59:43):
Yeah, crazy, it's.

Speaker 2 (02:59:44):
Crazy what you get to you know, you you never
never knows, you really truly never know. Did she make
it up?

Speaker 5 (02:59:52):
I don't think she because she casually dropped it and
like didn't explain it further, and I didn't press further.
But and I was getting out of the uber and
I was like, lady, I gotta know who's your son?
What team does he play for? He goes, she goes.
He played for the Bears for four years. Now he
plays for the Falcons. Is Darnell Mooney. I'm just doing
this for fun, to get out of the house and
meet people. And you've been a pleasure, young man. You
and that deer.

Speaker 2 (03:00:12):
Yeah, you remember we talked about people when they make
up their ken to somebody.

Speaker 12 (03:00:16):
Mm hm.

Speaker 2 (03:00:18):
Then this guy wasn't that big of a star. But
you remember the Beverly in Beverly Hills cop the judge Reinhold,
but the other one, the older one. I forget his name.
He's been in tons of movies. You seen him in
all there was an old man had his same last
name that claimed it lived in Clay County, that that
was his son, the actor, and and I don't know.

(03:00:39):
I think he might have made it up. Of course
they had the same name. Yeah, you don't. You don't
hear too many of those last names. Yeah, I'm just
I can't remember the guy last name. Again, I don't remember,
but okay, time, but I but he had to explain
to me, you know who he was, And I thought.

Speaker 5 (03:00:51):
Oh, Judge Reinholder, I thought you were talking about like
an actual judge.

Speaker 2 (03:00:55):
No, the other guy and the other policeman, Judge Rehnehold
was the younger one that we're in Beverly and he's
been in a bunch of them. Yes, yeah, he's been
in tons of movies. Okay, he's one of them guys.
I'm not famous, but I mean a ton of movies. Yes, yes,
he was the one that was done with it. He's
like this.

Speaker 5 (03:01:11):
Yeah, then the original or Beverly Hills Cop two.

Speaker 2 (03:01:14):
The original, Okay, probably in the second one too. I
think he died not too long ago.

Speaker 5 (03:01:20):
Uh, oh oh, is it Ronnie Cox? No, no, Steven Burkeoff, No.

Speaker 2 (03:01:28):
No, John Ashton. It's Johnston, John Ashton.

Speaker 5 (03:01:31):
Okay, we figured it out, guys. John figured it out.

Speaker 2 (03:01:35):
He's been in a bunch of movies. Because that's y's
real low. You can't somebody was claiming to be John
Ashton's dad. Yes, and they did have last name. I'm
just saying it's possible, semblance. No, it took me a
second figure out who's talking about. You know, it meant
so much to you. Forgot his name again?

Speaker 5 (03:01:53):
Yeah? Oh okay, Yeah. When I look at him younger,
he was in yeah, yeah, bald mustache, kind eyes, in
a bunch of movies. Yeah, okay, and now I recognize him.

Speaker 4 (03:02:05):
There's two things that are really jumping out at me
here on the video list.

Speaker 5 (03:02:09):
I'm sorry real quick. I had a roommate in college.
His first name was Sedgwick. He claimed Kira Sedgwick was
his aunt for a while.

Speaker 2 (03:02:17):
Do you know who Kia Sedgwick is married to Kevin Bacon.

Speaker 5 (03:02:21):
Yes, And then we know that he said it, and
then we took his word for it, and then like
six months later, like wait a second, that's her last
name and your first name. What are you talking about?

Speaker 2 (03:02:32):
Yeah, That's what I'm talking about, idiot. I was wondering
if these people make stuff up. Yes, I think, I'm
not sure. John Ashton's son was there. I think he
made it up trying to be sharp. Probably did.

Speaker 3 (03:02:43):
He did.

Speaker 2 (03:02:44):
B Ol Mooney what's his name? D l who Hugley
the lady you were driving around?

Speaker 5 (03:02:51):
Oh oh, Darnell Moon, Darnell mom. Yeah, yeah, she was
really nice. I tipped her and I tipped her well.

Speaker 2 (03:03:01):
Or she does that so well? That van cost you
a lot that day.

Speaker 5 (03:03:03):
It did a toe of repair haneuver and the tip
for darn nol Mooney's.

Speaker 2 (03:03:08):
Mom was a big one. Hey, who doesn't need it?
But she did come getting or she tells everybody that
to get big tips for some reason.

Speaker 5 (03:03:15):
Well she said she I don't need the money. I
just do this to get out and about and whatever.

Speaker 2 (03:03:20):
So that that right there makes me go, really, well,
who wouldn't that one? I think I nothing to do
with that. Maybe I'll just deliver food. Yeah, So this
is the one that jumped out at me and and
it just it's intriguing. At number four on the video list,
Elon Musk says AI and humanoid robots will eliminate poverty

(03:03:42):
and make everyone wealthy.

Speaker 5 (03:03:44):
How's that right?

Speaker 2 (03:03:47):
Well, I mean here he is. We'll put up with
that telling kids had of light matches.

Speaker 5 (03:03:55):
This is from the US Saudi Investment Forum that speedy
you mentioned yesterday led to a trillion dollars in commitments. Yep,
from the saudis right. Uh, And here is Elon talking
about that.

Speaker 10 (03:04:08):
But AI and humanoid robots will actually eliminate poverty, and
test the won't be the only one that makes them.
I think Tesla will pioneer this, but there will be
many other companies that make humanoid robots. But there is
only basically one way to make everyone wealthy, and that
is AI and robotics.

Speaker 2 (03:04:25):
And we can't talk about robotics without what does that
have to walk that out?

Speaker 5 (03:04:31):
Okay, here's here's out. Because it will do all the jobs.
It will do all the jobs, it will do all
the things, so everyone will have an abundance of time
and money because they won't have to work, and we
will have everything we want.

Speaker 2 (03:04:45):
And you got to get paid, well, it's is this
where we all get paid? We just get stuff free
because we've got humanoid robots.

Speaker 5 (03:04:52):
I don't know. The robot, he says, is so good
that it could even do surgery on you.

Speaker 2 (03:05:00):
People can't have a job now because the robot does it,
so therefore I don't get paid.

Speaker 5 (03:05:04):
His his argument is that you wouldn't. You won't need it.
I won't need it, you'll need need money. It will
free you up to do whatever you want.

Speaker 2 (03:05:11):
Because you still need to get paid.

Speaker 5 (03:05:13):
AI will solve all the problems.

Speaker 2 (03:05:15):
So AI is gonna do everything, and it's gonna be free.

Speaker 5 (03:05:19):
I don't know. He says that medical care growing expenses.
As long as we are creating power, then he says,
power is the future of currency. And as long as
we're making power electricity, then then whoever does that the
most will be the superpower of the world. And AI
will control all of it. And as we're cooking up

(03:05:42):
and laying the foundations for AI, AI needs to be
founded in truth and it needs to like humans. If
we don't build it to look seek truth and protect humans,
it's gonna be terminator too. I'm gonna come walking down
your street. Your clothes give them.
