Speaker 3 (02:11):
But it's Turkey Week too, it is it is. And yeah,
how mad do you think? I want to play that?
But I've been I've been told like, we can't that gandet.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
But I understand uh that those of you that just
didn't like it was never it was never like an
in between like I don't care. It was either I
hate that song or it was man that means that's
thanksgiving to me, I love it. It was never it
was never just an in between whatever. Love you hate it.
Speaker 6 (02:41):
Yeah, people are sending up something reviling about it. Yeah, replacement, Oh,
I know, And we've had those for years, and I
think that's a great idea.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Send us, really would send them to Adler, don't say
send us, send them to.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
We would.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
We would play the God you love them so much,
We would play the Gobble Gobble song. And every year
people would still send us replacements and we never even entertained.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
It never did. And I don't think.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
The if y'all didn't like Gobble Gobble, we're not going
to play anything Gobble Gobble.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Like what if.
Speaker 6 (03:14):
We can do like an acoustic life version of it, Yeah,
with backing band and everything, really really.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Flash it out.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Yeah, the epic song that it's always you know, had
the potential to be.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Yeah, So it's no worries for those of you don't
like it and not playing it. That's when I've been
entertaining it. I'm just saying. It's like people are happy
about it. It's Thanksgiving week and I was I was
talking to Dad yesterday and have a big weekend to
recap and and just kind of going over Thanksgiving and.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
And and so.
Speaker 7 (03:50):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
And it looks a little different with cousin Lisa in
the mixture. You know, she's uh in the mix. She's
she's living with mom and dad since Antlee passed away.
Its hard to believe it's been a year coming up
here at Christmas.
Speaker 6 (04:03):
Yeah, we were all hunting.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Yeah, yeah, we were there. We were and you were like, guys,
think I gotta go if you really want to know
exactly what happened. Uh, And I know all of you do.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
I was the furthest away that you could possibly be
from camp House. As matter of fact, I dropped everybody
off to get to where I was going. Now Gary
would be upset because we drove the diesel side by side,
just right through.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
The middle of everything.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
I still saw dear and and Brody Burgess says, oh,
my goodness, and this it is that big deer that
did walked right through the greenfield and he didn't get it,
and he said, speedy, it's headed right to you. So
now I'm looking because it's just oh, it's just pretty.
You got hardwood off to the left of the greenfield
that you can see through a bout one hundred yards,
So I'm looking for anything. And then the phone rings
(04:50):
and uh, and everything changed that my aunt Lee had
passed away, and so obviously that changed everything. And then
I had to get on get on out of there
and get to Huntsfull. But it's been a year, and
so cousin Lisa uh is with us, and so the
plan now is that I'm just going to go up there,
spend the night before Thanksgiving, and we're just going to
drive from there to Sturgis.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Just it's just it's just easier and.
Speaker 5 (05:13):
Then Terry and and all the kids and all that
will be headed on over. But looking forward to it.
Love this time of year, just family and everything. It
can be stressful.
Speaker 8 (05:23):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
And so we we are talking out loud at at
at at home of we're not going to allow it
to be stressful.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Let's not brace it. Yeah. Well, of course the house
looks like a Hallmark movie.
Speaker 9 (05:34):
Oh you know, I'm sure I'll get thrown into that
this weekend after Thanksgiving.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
Yeah, you know, it looks like one of those. Uh,
she's pretty much done.
Speaker 10 (05:43):
I have.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
I have put my foot down and said we're gonna
wait on the outside, and she's.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Like, okay, that's fine. So I tell him big, well.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
You know you can go too early out there. When
and when I mean that is I'm normally the outside guy.
And she's like, okay, if we'll just let's just get
the inside, you know, done, and then on Thanksgiving weekend.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
I'll throw the outside. So that's the that's the plan.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
Are you guys generally the I don't know, you're generally
the outside guy, right?
Speaker 3 (06:11):
All things out?
Speaker 9 (06:11):
I put all the trees up and Lisa decorates them
because she don't like the way I decorate them. I'm
who comes and if they if they're not pre lit,
I put the lights on them.
Speaker 6 (06:21):
But as far as like even like yard care all
during the year, do you guys get any help out
from the outside.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
No, yeah, you get help outside. Well, I pay for it.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
Oh I'm talking about like from within the household. But
I don't get help either. I just want to know
it's fine. I'm just wondering if anybody else.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
I love when Terry will say not meaning it, I
can cut, you know. And I'm if I ever turned
around said go for it, you know, she would probably
do it. I'm not saying she's all fruit through and
won't get outside. I just handle the outside. Yeah, Lisa
does all the plants and stuff. Yeah, I'm real good
at that.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
Yeah, the pots on the front porch I can't touch. Now,
She'll go get them and go, hey, can we let's
put him in there?
Speaker 11 (07:05):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (07:05):
But this year she I came home and they were
already done. We'll have a little metal bench, oh yeah
out there. Oh yeah, mom sitting in it or pump.
Of course we'n't even past that.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Now. I had a right into Christmas. Look, yeah, I
had an herb garden for a little while, really illegal.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
It's not that kind of her.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
But it's off back in his new toxic exactly helicopters
and they're really growing. Unbelievable. It looks like bamboo out there.
Why are they up to your shoulders already?
Speaker 6 (07:40):
This was early on in Kevin's life. My dog, oh boy,
he would run out there and pee on my herb
guard what And I'm like, dude, that's the only place.
That's the only stuff I'm gonna eat. That's the only
stuff I'm gonna eat that's out here, and you're peeing
on it.
Speaker 9 (07:58):
That's mine just killed like brush bushes, like box boxwood.
There's no chance around my dog.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
No, it's like pouring acid on it.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Yeah, So that I was like, you know what, I
guess I'll just have to get an elevated you know,
one of those raised beds.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
It's like a.
Speaker 6 (08:18):
Trough on you know, on whatever whenever we take that's next.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Whenever cut cutting on the walk, you know, they got
to hike their leg on anything. And there's there's a
stretch of pines left and right. They're young, but this
is where I would assume all the codes run through.
Now you'll see about one hundred rabbits, you know, when
when it's that time of year. But he'll hike his
leg on about every other tree he'll live in. He
(08:43):
even hiked his leg on like a property post, you know,
like they're marking property. I'm like, Buddy, I don't know
that that. And he's hiking so much. By a round
five minutes, there's nothing coming out of And I'm like
a big guy, there's nothing coming out, and it's like
he looks at me with his ears back going. I understand,
but I got to I'm like, I don't even think
you're like trinkling out.
Speaker 9 (09:05):
Every delivery truck that stops in my house. And there's
a lot of them. Yeah, Buddy runs out and peas
on it, everyone of.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
Them on the truck.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
On the tires. Oh goodness, that's assault.
Speaker 9 (09:14):
Yeah, he said, Oh he's a thread. Don't let a
tire get in near him. He'll bite it or peel
on it.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
Anyone now in the vandalism is something.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Now the next sentence, Greg goes, well, I don't understand
why everybody's dogs just peeing on you tire, Greg, They're
peeing and biting the tires we buy.
Speaker 9 (09:34):
The tires when you're leaving or coming that you know
you're in there. You're driving. When he's biting the tea,
don't buite the tires. He peas on him when you're
just that walking around.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
So the tires aren't a threat until they're moving.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
You watch it, you know, in their little group of
two ways and networks and stuff.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
So when they're leaving your long driveway, they're like, I survived,
I got out, was fiting the You'll see the video
of how Milly does that spin. It's unbelievable how fast.
Speaker 10 (10:01):
She spent.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
She does that.
Speaker 9 (10:04):
When the car's going, she spends besides it until it
clears the day.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Yeah, I understand.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
Yeah, all the delivery drivers are like I just left
the gauntlet him headed out north.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Now, yeah, yeah, I survived.
Speaker 6 (10:15):
But it's basil and like mint and Rosemary gra what
do you use that steaks and put pastas and with
he on it with you?
Speaker 12 (10:23):
Now, Yes, this is the Rick Burgess Show. Sure you
played a little ball, Rick Burchess.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
It is the Rick Burgess Show, and we thank you
for being with us. I am speedy alongside Greg Burgess,
Chris Adye, Van Hadler.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
Got a busy week to recap, Adler took the kiddos to.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
An Auburn football game? How did that go? I cannot
wait to hear.
Speaker 5 (10:59):
Purposely, he has kept that from us because we want
the uh, the true reaction, you know what I mean.
We want to hear it for the first time live
on the air. A lot to recap. I was able
to get out in the woods with Tommy Lenore, David
Moore and the crew.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
Give it a little bit of recap of that. We
got a lot of football to.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Discuss, and you know, we kind of got through this
past weekend. There were some decent games. Usc Organ was
pretty good, Oregon one, uh, and you know at times
other games were decent. But I just I didn't really
a I wouldn't buy the TV, but I didn't really
give it much.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I didn't give it was not a football weekend from now.
Speaker 5 (11:39):
We were all surviving this past weekend to get to
what we really wanted to see, and that's this coming
weekend where it's a ton of rivalry's games. You got
Ohio State, who in the latest AP poll is still
at number one, but they got they got Michigan, the
team they can't seem to beat, and so that's going
to be an interesting game. They're at Michigan, who's number fifteen.
(12:02):
They're quietly just kind of hanging out, you know. I
know somebody brought that up. I watched a little bit
of Game Day and they were talking about that.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yeah, look they have quietly, you know, Yeah, put themselves
in a.
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Position in Indiana retains it number two. They have Purdue.
They were off this past weekend Texas A and M.
They beat Samford, who's right here in Birmingham, Alabama, where
we're based, forty eight to nothing that one. But they
got Texas now and they're at Texas number sixteen. They're
at number three. They retained that spot. Georgia is once
(12:37):
again at number four. They beat Charlotte pretty bad. They
got Georgia Tech, who almost came back and beat Pittsburgh.
That might have been the other really good game. They
were trying to come back. They just couldn't. It couldn't happen.
So then at number five Oregon, as I said, they
moved up one spot. They beat usc forty two to
twenty seven. But it was a good game, and they
(13:00):
play Washington coming up this weekend. Oh miss they dropped one,
but they were off because they have the Egg Bowl
this coming Friday at eleven am Central at Mississippi State.
Speaker 9 (13:11):
Now, listen a lot going on around that, going to
make the big announcement Saturday, Right, what do you think
that's about?
Speaker 3 (13:17):
You know, he pont Is is stay catching them right?
Speaker 11 (13:20):
Well?
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Astracted they could, they could. Uh you know. It was
kind of interesting because you hear all.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
But then there was reputable like news sources like Yahoo
Sports and others that claim that that LSU's already offered
him like ninety million, like the highest paid at like
some it's sick ridiculous deal, and you're like, okay, is
that real or not? And then you start looking and
then on x it's like these Twitter handles that claim
they know, and then you start looking at it and
(13:46):
it's like, well, they don't really know. But Lane Kiffin
met with the ad and they had a long meeting
and and said that and ad Evan is the one
that said that there'll be an announcement after the egg
Bowl game because he out of respect to the team,
he wanted to get through the Egg Bowl. But do
you think they're just going to announce an extension and
he's just going to stay there.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
I'm I'm phil Iams one that I heard people debating it.
I got a fit. I could be wrong. I think
he's going to stay.
Speaker 5 (14:12):
I do, yeah, I mean because the news out of Oxford,
Mississippi as they're ready to match anything.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Anybody has to keep him.
Speaker 9 (14:22):
If he says he's leaving, do you let him stay
and coach through the playoffs?
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Well? In here, you see what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
Yeah, And here's the here's the here's the deal here, Greg,
Because ultimately, you want to win championships and all this
kind of stuff. The Ole miss Rebels are sitting here
at ten and one, they're number six in the nation.
I mean, how much better do you want it? I mean,
you're right there, you know. Yeah, if you beat Missispi
State in the Egg Bowl, it'll be the first eleven
(14:49):
win season in program history.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Yeah. So, I mean I think you kind of got
something going on there, So why would you? But I
don't know. LSU's pretty intriguing, Uh, you know, but that's
the rumor.
Speaker 13 (15:00):
Now.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
Now, now you just make of it what you want,
because nobody really knows. I love all these people that
claim they do, but we're not gonna be one of
those because we.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Don't listen on any of this.
Speaker 9 (15:11):
Yeah, but thinking back his career, do you think Lane
Kiffn should be the high speed coach in coach don't?
I mean, I'm not saying he shouldn't be. Yeah, well
you tell him about you time, about up there in
like Saving World. I mean, hey, herby Smart World.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
But you know it leverages everything and right now he's
just got it. He does have it. He is, he's
got it.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
And uh, I guess if they want to currently go
after the best that's available or that that might we
have a chance. And you know the other Uh, the
other rumor I'm loving too, is it's all over social
media is that Debor is actually leaving. He's gonna go
to Penn State.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
I've heard that.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
And Kiffin's gonna go to Bama. Oh okay, they're just
gonna everybody's just gonna move around.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
That's the other. That's the other one.
Speaker 9 (15:57):
That everything, And what I love too is that people claim, no,
this is real. Yeah, oh I know somebody, Hey, my
inside source. Yeah, they always got this guy that knows
and uh, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yeah, like I said, if that really happens and we
all look like an idiot. But Kiffin makes what now
about nine million a year.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
I'm not sure he gets paid well. And he even said, hey,
I get paid so much. Now it's not about money,
because I why don't you say that? Owe mes and
go that money you were going to add to mine,
go buy me some players.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Yeah it's nine a year.
Speaker 9 (16:29):
I'll keep my nine. And what y'all were playing on
buff me about four more? Y'all just take that and
buy me some players.
Speaker 6 (16:34):
Right, he's tied for tenth highest among college coaches.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
Well, so he's in the top ten.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
What I saw from from LSU and it was Yahoo's
Jahu's Sports or that was the Twitter handle might have
been fake.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (16:47):
They were claiming like they committed to twenty something million
in this next roster.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
That funny.
Speaker 5 (16:56):
Oh yeah, it's come to that. It's oh yeah yeah.
And now I think LSU didn't we do a story
prior to the season that's been eighteen million on this
year's roster. Yeah, uh so that's part of it. Now,
it's not all. College football has changed so much. Coach,
we're gonna pay you this much, and then we're gonna
pay this much the players. So yeah, well, look, James
(17:17):
Franklin have It said when he was at the press
conference for Virginia Tech, one of the reasons why he
chose there was he loved the tradition, He loves the challenge,
he loves that area, but also the commitment that they
made for for the future and and the rosters and
and and all that kind of stuff. It was just
attractive to him. And so anyway, we'll see, it's a
(17:38):
it's got that's a big week. So by by a
week from today, we should know what's gonna happen with
Lane Kiffen.
Speaker 9 (17:44):
But they said their fishing, which makes me feel like
he's staying. Yeah, they said, all right, we're going now.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I agree. I agree.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
It's a big it's it's a big to do about nothing.
And they're just gonna announce that he's signed a long
term extension and and that they you know, have there.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
He's and like I say, I heard one of them
interviews with him when he first went there, and we
had this attitude like here, I am some backwoods down Yeah.
Oh yeah, once I get out, I actually love this place. Yeah.
Of course, thirteen million dollars will make you love somewhere else.
It will it will.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
I don't know, Yeah, I don't know. But anyway, they
moved down a spot to six even though they were off.
But they have the Egg Bowl coming up, and Texas
Tech is at seven. This is the ap pole and
it gives you an idea of what's going to happen.
Maybe Oklahoma is at eight after being beaten Missouri seventeen
to six. They got LSU speaking of them. Notre Dame
is at nine, Alabama is at ten. That's where they stay.
(18:38):
And there's your top ten and the ap poles. Of course,
the Iron Bowl coming up this week too. We'll take
a break, we'll be right back. Don't go anywhere.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (18:51):

That means people are actually getting results. That's it are
used in it. That's it is it they have. They've
been here since day one and I've been here what
seventeen sixteen something like that.
Speaker 5 (24:05):
It's been uh, it has been a long lasting relationship
and uh it's uh, it's it works. But to your point,
they wouldn't still be here if you didn't.
Speaker 10 (24:13):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
The CEO actually came in onto the show. He was
a hoss. Yeah, you remember him. He was a hoss.
He was he was like seventy something and he remember
he wanted you to roll with him.
Speaker 12 (24:27):
He did.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
He pinned you down, made you like it, yes, pretty
much made.
Speaker 6 (24:31):
Him impress Impressive guy. Impressive guy he was, oh man,
and doctor Katz.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
Did y'all see any of it? I'm just asking. I'm
not saying you had to sit down and like order
meal and eat and watch NFL games? But did y'all
see any of it yesterday?
Speaker 6 (24:50):
No?
Speaker 3 (24:50):
I saw just a few plays, but not really.
Speaker 6 (24:53):
Okay, I'm so sorry, guys, I can't weigh in here.
I didn't see any football this weekend. Well, and that
includes the game that and I went to a game
D zero four.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
You had to come home and watch the highlights?
Speaker 5 (25:07):
Yeah, yeah, but you know you knew going in it's
just about the experience and now it hurt a little bit,
but still, yeah, I cannot wait.
Speaker 7 (25:13):
I won't.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
I don't want you to leave anything out from leaving
to getting home. I cannot wait for that.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
All right.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
But I did see where Shador Sanders got his first
NFL start and they won. Of course they played the Raiders,
who hate by the way, fire Chip Kelly, their offensive coordinator,
the highest paid coordinator in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
That's right, I forgot he was. The Raiders fired him yesterday.
Now is Carol, is he going to No, he's still going. Well,
he might be, but the Browns played the Raiders, so
he's trying to save his job by firing.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
Oh yeah, it was a great a great team to
play for your first start. But he looked pretty good.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
Prime was there watching and was able to watch his
son get his first NFL start.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
But they they.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
They beat the the redd Is twenty four to ten
in his first career start yesterday. Wow, and fifth round pick,
which is we all were surprised. Do you remember how
surprised we were?
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yeah, but he kept dropping, kept dropping.
Speaker 5 (26:11):
Dylan Gabriel went down for with a concussion and so
he had to come in the last game, and he
got his start yesterday and they ended up winning. Here
is a game eleven for twenty two hundred and nine
yards with a touchdown, one interception, but he became the
first Brown rookie quarterback to win his first start since
nineteen ninety five, thirty years.
Speaker 6 (26:31):
Yes, here is his postgame interview. Real quick, See what
y'all think of his attitude?
Speaker 14 (26:36):
Oh wow, when it's crazy, it's amazing. You know, off
for one week of practice, you know what I mean?
This one week of practice, So imagine you know what
a full off season looked like. It get dangerous, But
it's just a one week of practice. So I'm just
truly thankful. You know that everything happened A boy, good job.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Imagine how good I'll be.
Speaker 9 (26:56):
Yeah, So what he said, everybody who suddenly was in
his corner now they're back out right.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
If I could try to, if I could try to
translate that theory with his mind, it's we won and
I only got one week of practice with the ones.
So imagine an off season me preparing. Is that what
he's saying? I think, Yes, if I get the start,
but it's one game against a bad changers. Hey, you
don't get to play the Raiders every week.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Even though.
Speaker 9 (27:22):
But look, and I hated what happened to him when
he was driving bad, but it just doesn't help when
you come on. Wow, I believe that's what he was saying.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
No, that is okay, all right.
Speaker 9 (27:35):
I think in his own unique way, I believe he
was saying, imagine what I had done if I'd have
been taking us now, yeah, well, I mean you would
have been better.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Well, he's got the forty nine ers next, so the
match he is going to figure that one out. He
might Gabriel might be back in the start, but then
he's got the Titans. But then he then he's got
the Bears, the Bills, Steelers, the Bengals. Uh so not
everybody are the Raiders of this year. I apologize to
all Raiders fans hard, but just maybe be a little humble.
(28:04):
You think it would have humbled him the draft?
Speaker 9 (28:06):
That him?
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Right?
Speaker 6 (28:09):
He went on to say, I'm who they have been
looking for. Mhm, there it is, I guess, humble.
Speaker 10 (28:16):
Is not it?
Speaker 9 (28:17):
No?
Speaker 3 (28:17):
No, that dropped to the fifth round. That didn't Yeah,
didn't do Now he's got a chip on his shoulder,
he does, you know it motivation.
Speaker 5 (28:27):
The che the Chiefs and the Colts was another good one,
went into overtime, the Chiefs won twenty three to twenty.
Yeah to watch some of that, Yeah, yeah, it was good.
But then at the end they couldn't bullet it off. Yeah,
poor Titans. They lost again thirty twenty four. But uh,
the Giants and the lines went into overtime as well,
and the and the lines ended up holding off and
beating them. But the game that was late afternoon was
(28:51):
the Eagles at the Cowboys, and the Cowboys were down
twenty one to nothing and came back and won twenty
four to twenty one. Really, yeah, I did say where
they were. I want to say it was it was
some record about the largest comeback or something, or the
third I can't remember.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
They it was something like that.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
But they they came, I mean roaring back, not all
at once, just a little piece at a time.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
Uh, and ended up beating the Eagle.
Speaker 5 (29:17):
So that was that was a big It was Funday
showed Jerry Jones in the box and when they were
getting just pelted, and he looked so mad, then all
of a sudden they won it.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
He's all grinning. Yep. It was all just a grinning.
A lot of NFL.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
Games for Thanksgiving when we're all kind of sleepy and
sitting there groggy after we've been eating all day. But uh,
there's a lot of action coming up. We've got a
number of games coming up on Thanksgiving and and look, you.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
Always going to play. The Cowboys are gonna play. Yep,
that's it.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
Packers and Lines are first. They're at a twelve pm
on Fox, Packers at Lines. Then you have the Chiefs
at the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (30:01):
And that's going to be at three pm on CBS,
and then at night it's going to be on NBC
Peacock at seven twenty it's the Bengals at the Ravens.
Speaker 7 (30:10):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
And so there you go. And then on Black Friday,
it all starts with the Egg Bowl eleven am. That's
gonna be. That's gonna be.
Speaker 6 (30:17):
No.
Speaker 9 (30:17):
I can remember when I was a kid, we were
fixing to leave to go to my grandmother's for Thanksgiving
and and I remember the Chiefs were playing. I don't
remember who they were playing, uh huh, And we were
about to leave and it went into overtime and we're like, ale,
we will come on and watch. And the Chiefs ran
the kickoff back of the first kick of overtime, and
back then it was sudden death, so the game was
over that quick.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
But I don't know why I still remember that, do
you really?
Speaker 11 (30:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 10 (30:40):
I don't.
Speaker 9 (30:40):
I don't remember who the Chiefs were playing, but I
remember the Chiefs ran the kickoff all the way back,
and we're like, okay.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
There's a game.
Speaker 6 (30:45):
Well there it is.
Speaker 3 (30:46):
Uh, there it is.
Speaker 5 (30:47):
There's lots of games on Black Friday, so I don't
want to leave anybody out, but uh, you have the
Egg Bowl, which I just mentioned on ABC at eleven,
and then after that the game after that on ABC
is Georgia and Georgia Tech UH at two thirty, and
then after that on ABC is UH Texas and Texas
(31:07):
A and M Texas A and M at Rivels. Yeah,
oh yeah, you got a lot going on.
Speaker 10 (31:12):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
And then Saturday it just it cranks up and it's
just all day.
Speaker 7 (31:15):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
And with so lots of good games coming up, be
interesting to see what happens. A lot of coaching vacancies.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Again.
Speaker 5 (31:23):
I guess by Saturday we'll figure out what in the
heck is going to happen with Lane Kiffin. But The
Hour Bowl is a six thirty pm kick on ABC
Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (31:32):
So there you go, there, there you.
Speaker 5 (31:34):
Go down into planes. Where where Adler was this past
Saturday with his kids?
Speaker 3 (31:40):
Yes, watching the game? Not much, not much of the game.
Speaker 15 (31:45):
In what game?
Speaker 3 (31:46):
Did you ever know which direction the field was?
Speaker 11 (31:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (31:50):
I think there was a flyover. Well, I think there
was a touchdown.
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Maybe yeah, maybe an eagle somewhere sea.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Thank you so much for hanging out with us, America.
It is the Rick Burgess Show. I am speedy.
Speaker 5 (32:23):
There is Greg Burgess, Eddie van Adler is here. Obviously,
our leader, Rick Burgess is not. It's the Rick Burgess Show.
And when Rick's not here, it's like, hey, where's Rick.
If you have followed us over the last week or so,
you know he has been absent for a few days now,
and we want to thank you all for your concerns
and prayers for Rick and his family. Understandably there are
(32:45):
questions concerning his current absence from the show. I mean
that's just obvious. I mean, where's Rick? Those are gonna
come to us and we appreciate that. Bottom line is, though,
while the show the platforms connected to the show. All
of you are so important to Rick and his family.
He is where he needs to be right now with
(33:06):
his family. It takes priority. His immediate family desperately needs
him right now. And the why on that, that's not
our story to tell. So just continue to pray for him.
Pray for him and his immediate family. They have fought
many battles. This is not the first, Satelle, it will
not be the last. But they are, as he said,
(33:26):
battle ready, not battle weary. And so we thank all
of you, the the Vox family, y'all are just so wonderful.
You're so kind, you're so considerate, and I know there's
lots of prayer warriors out there too. So this is
this is where we need you to really come alongside
us and pray for the family. And we will see
hopefully Rick when he gets here. But as the staff, myself,
(33:49):
Greg Burgess and Chris Adler have told him, you are
where you need to be, sir, and you don't worry
about the show. We'll we'll just well some we'll somehow
keep it on road if we can. We've gotten over
into gravel a little bit, uh, but but we will
try desperately to keep it going.
Speaker 3 (34:07):
Uh, and then he will return as soon as he can. Uh.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
But thank you all so much for your prayers and
your emails and your text We've heard from so many
of you. UH, and you just want to know, Hey,
how can I pray?
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (34:20):
And just pray for him and his family and he
will be with us as soon as he can. And uh,
I know y'all all echo those same same thoughts. We
have hit a number of things today, mainly sports, just
kind of letting you know the latest ap pole and
got a big week coming up. This is just a
fun time when it comes to college football because you know,
(34:41):
we all anticipate the big rivalry weekends and and but
now these this weekend is going to determine a lot.
I mean, because Alabama can't lose again, so they need
to They need to win to beat that, you know,
beat Auburn and the Iron Bowl. Ole Miss can't lose,
so they have to win the egg Bawl. These these
(35:01):
rockery games, they mean something. They cannot will Lane kiff
and go?
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Will he not?
Speaker 5 (35:06):
So there was there's lots of things to discuss. I
was able to get out in the woods a little
bit this past weekend yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
About that one. You know, we've talked about how you
can't have nothing. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 5 (35:21):
Uh well, and we've all talked about how it's not
really about taking something. It's really more about just being
down down there in it, just being in that atmosphere
and and going out and sitting in the hard woods
and stuff like that. But you would like to see
a deer, Yeah, I mean, you know, maybe just one
come walking through.
Speaker 3 (35:40):
Yeah, I mean, just any of it'd be nice if
it was a shooter, but even just a deer or
some type of animal where we where we that squirreld
needs to shut up. Yeah, I'm I've seen plenty of those.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
When when uh, when when we went out, Okay, I'm
not exaggerating or anything.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
I didn't even take a coat. It was so where
we live. It was so warming. It was sixty eight
degrees when I said, but I was outside, and I thought,
if I'm hunting, I'm in my T shirt and shorts
and a T shirt and fair boots.
Speaker 5 (36:16):
Besides looking for a deer walking through, I was swatting
at Mosquitos.
Speaker 3 (36:20):
I can't stand. Yeah, it was miserable.
Speaker 5 (36:23):
An hour before we left, all I could think about
was I want to get out of here, then you.
Speaker 7 (36:29):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (36:29):
And I did check myself, but I was I was
covered up on that front. But so spend all morning
didn't see a deer. I mean, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
You know.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
It's bad when you don't even hear a shot off
in the distance, like from another camp, you know. I
mean it was it was so quiet. We counted between
four hunters, we saw six squirrels. Okay, that's that was it.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
I wouldn't have come on even the squirrels were like, man,
it's too hot for these nuts, you know.
Speaker 10 (36:56):
I mean, the.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
The amount of acrons that were dropping. Golly, I had that.
Speaker 5 (37:03):
I'd have been there eating red oaks, water oaks, white
oaks all around me. It was just And when I
looked up and it was the squirrel. He was up there,
just loving and he was dropping more than he was eating.
He needs help.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
Uh yeah.
Speaker 5 (37:14):
And so then we go back and we hang out
watch some football had it on, and uh then didn't
see anything in the afternoon.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
So I left. No, I left and didn't see one
way it used to be. Yeah, that was my whole
life growing up. I will tell you this deer, but
I couldn't see it. Nationwide high school playoff football.
Speaker 7 (37:38):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
It depends on where you are and how far in
it you are. Some some are wrapping up, some are
just starting.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
In our state, the highest classification had a game and
Bo Nix's dad, Patrick Nicks, coached a team Central Phoenix.
Uh And and they played Thompson, where your son Taylor
Burgess had coached and won championships there.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
He was there five years. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (38:01):
Uh And and I guess the state said, well, we
'all aren't going to meet again in the playoffs, We're
gonna make sure you meet in the semis. Yeah, and
I went to We watched it at at at camp house,
not knowing I wouldn't see the deer, but we watched
it at that time you thought you were and and man,
Thompson was running away with it all right. So I
was like, man, we're getting up so early. I'm going
(38:21):
to bed, and you're telling.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
Me they were up by twenty one with like it
was less than five minutes in the game. It was.
It wasn't much time left to be down by twenty one.
Speaker 9 (38:29):
Yeah, and dog on fail they had a scoop and score,
which helps you know if I'm one they picked up
score but the other than they drove it down, drove
it down to the very end, took it, could have
tied it up. Said we're going for two, going for
the win. And I didn't get to two.
Speaker 3 (38:43):
But it was a great game.
Speaker 5 (38:44):
Yes, thing everybody talks big about. Ooh man, you kick
a cook, you extra point to tide. Are you going
to go for two?
Speaker 3 (38:52):
I'd go for two. Hey, that takes some cahonas.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
Yeah, going for two knowing if if if we don't
make this, we lose, but if we win where he wrote, yeah.
Speaker 9 (39:01):
And you you know, if you feel good about what
you know, you work on him special two point plays
and stuff, and you feel good about it. I'm seeing
more people do it, like in overtime the first team scores,
kicks the pat and then the next one scores and
they go ahead and go for two instead of doing
it again.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
I had no idea.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
Came down to that because when I went to bed,
I was like, let's just let's get a little bit
of sleep. We're getting up early to go not see
a deer. Uh, so let's let's just go ahead and
go to go to bed. Yeah, And had no idea.
Never know, you got to keep watching.
Speaker 9 (39:31):
Who was that one coach that was always going for
it on fourth, always going for always doing on side
kicks in a high school in Texas or something Arkansas.
He went to some small colleges if it panned out,
and his percentages were unbelievable, and he had all these
special onside kicks they would do, and yes, go for
it on every fourth.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Still to that never pal worked.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
Out for This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (39:59):

Big Box Entertainment presents the Rick Burgess Shows with Speedy,
Greg Burges, Edie Vanadler and Rick Burges.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
Thank you so much for tuning into the Rick Burgess Show.
It's the good Time Game, Dirtye.

Calvin and the boys again just after time of the hour.
Speaker 3 (42:08):
Thank you so much for being with us, Siam speed Raiser.
Speaker 5 (42:10):
There's Greg Burges and Chris Ady van Adler in the
TV room.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Rick is not with us today.
Speaker 5 (42:18):
Lord Will and he'll be back with us in a day,
maybe tomorrow, maybe Wednesday, We're not really sure. And we
want to thank all of you, and Rick sends his love.
He says, hey, please tell everybody thank you for your
concerns and prayers for the family. Understandably, there are questions
concerning his current absence from the show. As a staff,
we've said, hey, and we've always had this mindset. You know,
(42:40):
family first, You take care of the family, and we
say this for all of us, even if we have
you know, something that we need to do and take
care of, We're like, hey, man, you're where you need
to be, and take care of your business and get
back when you can. And that's kind of what's happening,
and that's what the staff has conveyed to Rick as well.
Bottom line, while the show and the platf form and
(43:00):
everybody around is so important to him, as you can imagine,
immediate family comes first and so that's where his priority is.
He's taking care of that situation and Lord Willing will
be back soon. So we are having a good time
together so far today. If you missed the first hour,
we did a lot of sports. Some updates over this
past weekend coming soon. Eddie Van now Adler takes the
(43:23):
kids to an Auburn game, their first everage in the van.
Uh and I'm assuming bye by yourself. It was just you,
the three of you, whole fan. At least you had you,
I mean y'all, y'all could at least do one on one,
you know, which is always helpful. Sure, that's that's good.
So I can't wait for that update still coming up.
(43:44):
I can only imagine you have to get back to
work so you can rest. Yes, I saw this feature,
this feature, and you know how sometimes you you can't
really trust what you read.
Speaker 3 (43:57):
Oh like a lot of times you can't.
Speaker 5 (43:59):
Like over the week in you know, everybody knew where
lancol I don't be awhere. Lane Kiffin was going, oh everybody,
you know they already had the feybody now that LSU
was offering him and uh and everything and it could
be true, but you don't know anymore. Well, Elon Musk
came out and says they are exposing the truth behind
social social media accounts across the political spectrum, with account
(44:22):
owners apparently misleading followers where they're actually posting from, and
some are are basically like Hey, we're patriots, we're American
or whatever. It comes to find out they're like ones
in Turkey and I want one somewhere in Poland.
Speaker 3 (44:38):
Oh yeah, you know.
Speaker 6 (44:39):
And this whole weekend it was just people being revealed
to be in Bangladesh or whatever. Yeah, or like people saying,
don't don't blame me, I voted for the brown lady
talking about they voted for Kamala Harris. But then you're like,
you live in Canada, you vote for anybody.
Speaker 3 (44:56):
For anybody.
Speaker 5 (44:56):
Yes, And we've always said this, but it's true again
here people are going to try to mislead you and
create drama and conflict because they know that's how America will,
you know, basically be the townfall of America is if
we all are turned on each other, turning against each
other where there's a new feature that allows all x
(45:17):
users to inspect where a given account is based, like
listing the country or the region. Yes, and so many
popular accounts posing as American patriots, constitutionalists, you know, et cetera,
aren't even in the US. To what Adler was saying,
like this one at seventeen seventy six, General Underscore has
(45:42):
about one hundred and forty thousand followers and it was
revealed he was in Turkey. Now, right after that he
tried to say, I'm working international and I'm here right now.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
I'm normally in the US, but i'm here.
Speaker 5 (45:56):
Another account at American Voice Underscore as about two hundred
thousand followers, and the new feature exposed that he was
in South Asia and shortly after that someone they deleted
the account.
Speaker 3 (46:12):
It's a one here.
Speaker 5 (46:14):
I think this was one that was about Gaza, claiming
he was a Gaza based journalist. Come to find out,
had one hundred and ninety seven thousand followers. But X
exposed him and he was actually in Poland he's not
a angel.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
So it's just it's crazy. But this new feature will
tell you where you at. It'll let all the fraudsters have.
Speaker 3 (46:38):
To be and some light shot shown on them because
they're not where they are or they are. People would
do that. That's shocking. This is perfect.
Speaker 6 (46:47):
I think that's great. I'm all for this. It's it
was really shocking to see how many people were like
Conservative Patriot Eagle right back, Conservative Patriot Eagle USA, and
then you're like, you're in India, why are you even
waging in on our politics, right, So it's just engagement farming.
Just they're just you know, driving clicks to their and
(47:10):
you go to their page and they have like one
hundred thousand people following them, very active page. And guys,
this is this is a left turn here. But speaking
of not really being able to believe anything that you
see now, aiol we had Gary in the studio on Friday,
and just from the video of him on the bike,
(47:30):
somebody was able to take that AI and make it
look like he was crashing into a ditch when a
turkey took off. I mean, it was unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (47:40):
I didn't make it.
Speaker 6 (47:40):
Somebody just send it to me, by the.
Speaker 5 (47:41):
Way, yeah, oh, he sent me a picture last night.
Somebody put an ape on the back of his bike
like they were riding a trail through the woods, and
it looks exactly like it. I mean, just think, well,
let's just go back to last year, that far back,
and remember when we first started looking at this stuff.
Speaker 9 (47:57):
Yes, it didn't look quite right right. You can find
flaws in it, and it's getting there, or you don't
find a flaw in it.
Speaker 6 (48:03):
It's getting to wear every single video I see. I'm like,
is that real?
Speaker 7 (48:06):
Is that fake?
Speaker 3 (48:07):
Is it?
Speaker 6 (48:07):
I have to I think that now? Well, I hope
I don't get my buddy in trouble here. But my
buddy sends me screenshots of text messages with his wife.
What he punked his wife this weekend using AI?
Speaker 9 (48:23):
What?
Speaker 6 (48:24):
Yes, He's like, dude, I probably should have done this?
Speaker 3 (48:26):
Would you do that? Okay?
Speaker 6 (48:29):
Have you guys seen those like screenshots of text messages
online and it's like something funny like whatever, but but
you're never even sure if it's really You're like, this
is probably not even real. Well, this one is actually
real because I actually know the guys. So that made
me his conversation.
Speaker 3 (48:45):
I laughed hard.
Speaker 6 (48:46):
Here it is behind y'all showing it. Yeah, I edited
out anybody's name picture, So y'all he is, he's at
home on his lunch break. He knows his wife is
also at work. He sends his wife a text message
is my buddy and I'm not going to any names
or anything like that, but he sent he sent his wife, Hey,
did you send.
Speaker 3 (49:03):
This chick over to clean?
Speaker 6 (49:05):
She basically let herself in and saying you told her
to come and I told her to stop cleaning the
sink until I know what's going on. The wife responds,
what No. He then sends his wife an AI picture
of their kitchen, and please look at this person that
he sent.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
It is a young a young attractive. I will say,
how made up? And she's fake. That is their kitchen.
She's totally fake. Oh my goodness. See how do you know?
How do you how can you decide?
Speaker 6 (49:37):
Forer She goes, that's crazy. No, I didn't tell I
didn't I'm with the I'm on the call right now
with a client. And then my buddy goes. She says,
she'll do it for free, and the wife texts back,
why what do you what?
Speaker 3 (49:49):
What are you talking about? And my buddy texts her
he goes, I don't know. I thought you set this up.
So they go back and forth. That is hilarious. It's
it's just she goes.
Speaker 6 (49:59):
She starts, she's lying that psycho behavior.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
Get her out of our house. She seems really nice.
So you know he paid. He was in the doghouse.
What you say about birthday? What do you say? He says,
I loved this was my birthday.
Speaker 6 (50:17):
I thought you I thought this was like my birthday
present or something.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Oh, he's in trouble she was.
Speaker 9 (50:24):
She like better the fact that that person was made
up and put in his kitchen. It looks real. Yeah, yeah,
maybe should have punched your wife. In hindsight, I baby boy,
I bet he paid for that.
Speaker 6 (50:36):
He was in the doghouse all weekend. Today is his birthday, though,
Happy birthday.
Speaker 3 (50:43):
You got careful, you got you gotta be. Did you
see she said she'll do it for free? Did you
send her?
Speaker 5 (50:51):
Did you see when Elon was on that's funny Rogan
here and he talked about the future of AI in
five and six years, what's gonna be capable of doing?
Speaker 3 (50:59):
Hey, hey, Greg, scary. I don't want lizard man telling
me stuff.
Speaker 6 (51:04):
I'm just sharing.
Speaker 3 (51:05):
I'm just saying you think it's something now? Yeah, And
people keep like any saying nothing.
Speaker 6 (51:12):
People will have these bold predictions for the future. And
with these AI companies you can see that people are
getting scared that like, oh no, AI is not really
going to be as capable as we thought. It's a bubble.
But then well then we'll have another step forward. Then
we'll have another step forward in this direction, so it
keeps progressing.
Speaker 3 (51:30):
Yeah, we'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (51:33):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (51:54):
Twenty one minutes past the hour. Thank you so much
for tuning into the Rick Burgess Show. I'm speedy alongside
Greg Burgess, Ady Van Adler. Rick not with us today,
Lord willing be back soon. And it's Thanksgiving week, right,
so we're all looking head towards Thanksgiving. We are gonna
attempt some more unscreen phone calls. Uh this uh, this show,
maybe even this hour, if y'all will all play nice
(52:16):
and try to impress Gregg too much, Yeah, that's not necessary.
Speaker 3 (52:20):
Greg. All I'm saying is go to the line and
so be be funny, have fun, but just don't don't
cross the line. Come on, And I know the line's blurry, giving,
but you know I'm trying to be a little better. Yeah,
I got a week for Pete's say, yeah for Pete
sa it's your favorite holiday? Guy, Oh that's outstanding home.
You don't have to tell you don't have to bring gifting, No,
it is eat Uh so John at and Regg. By
(52:41):
the way, Reg says, Hey, Reg, was that buddy started
just Mississippi's power couple. Uh, that's where we'll be going
for Thanksgiving. And I was the same way with you.
Speaker 5 (52:50):
I was like, no gifts, and Terry's like, well, we
gotta we gotta take them a gift for hosting.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
Oh no, you think this, that and the other. I'm like,
I'm like, what we gotta do what she said?
Speaker 6 (53:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (53:00):
Thank you?
Speaker 5 (53:01):
Oh no, she said no, we can't go in. They're
empty handed. Now they always split up like you make this,
I make that.
Speaker 3 (53:09):
We bring it, you know, so they bottle a mad
Dog twenty twenty, just the good stuff. Yeah, so now
I've got that. Now I've got that pressure. Oh yeah,
you know we're gonna come up with I don't know
what about a big picture of you. I got to
working on what I'm I'm gonna give Adler this past weekend.
I still you started working on it.
Speaker 6 (53:31):
Oh yeah, remembers did you have to change directions because
I busted you?
Speaker 3 (53:35):
Whatever what I was gonna do, and you were gonna
love it. It was gonna be a little steps you
I do and I go, you better not do it
steps too. I want you to be a big boy.
That would have been a good one.
Speaker 2 (53:44):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (53:45):
And it wasn't going to be like, you know, just silly.
It was going to be like a nice one.
Speaker 6 (53:50):
That and it was a nice one.
Speaker 5 (53:51):
The steps weren't going to be like really big, but
just you know, yeah, you know it's where you like.
In other words, so we could even see your shoulders
behind the monitor. Yeah, it's not that I need a lot,
but I ain't just a little list.
Speaker 6 (54:01):
I'm gonna get you a blow dryer, then, buddy.
Speaker 5 (54:04):
You gotta make it a blow dryery on this on
fourteen the videos that are available today. Is this that
crazy finish I was telling you about between these Mississippi
private schools Lamar and Brooke Haveven Academy.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Is that?
Speaker 14 (54:21):
Do you?
Speaker 6 (54:21):
This was?
Speaker 3 (54:22):
This was different.
Speaker 6 (54:23):
This was a controversial moment in that game, and somebody
on the sidelines stiff arm stiff armed a player. Oh
I don't know if y'all saw this. Here you go,
Uh if you look behind you, you could see players
going out of bounds and this guy in the blue
shirt sends a kid.
Speaker 3 (54:40):
To the ground. He sure does. He was just trying
to block him coming out here.
Speaker 6 (54:45):
Well you think that, But then a little scuffle, A
little scuffle breaks out because the player that got stiff
armed through the ball and I think he was trying
to hit the coach that stiff armed him.
Speaker 3 (54:53):
But it ended up hitting a different, a different different.
The other coach clearly saw what the distant did. Watch though,
do you think he's just trying to Greg?
Speaker 6 (55:04):
Everybody's gonna move this way to the right, I guess
his left. But he moves to look like he moves towards.
He moves towards, yeah, versus not.
Speaker 3 (55:18):
He has that look about him, like that kid. It
plays too rough. Yeah. Yeah, he's not wearing a headset
so yeah, well, I'm not sure he's got a driver's life.
He's clearly to get that guy. I'm not sure he's
got a driver's list.
Speaker 7 (55:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (55:30):
Well the guy wasn't very happy, and I don't know
that I would be either. Yeah, but to me, it
doesn't look like it's that violent, Greg.
Speaker 6 (55:36):
He toward him.
Speaker 3 (55:37):
Let's look at it.
Speaker 6 (55:38):
Again, Greg, that's a big guy throwing that a little flopping.
That guy looks like he right, Greg, he may be
Pet's rabbits too hard, you got.
Speaker 3 (55:49):
It, because he loves.
Speaker 7 (55:52):
He loves him.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
I'm sorry he had that look about him. He might
be right, Greg was put this way. He wouldn't call
him plays no, No, he wasn't have to have headset on.
He was just helping.
Speaker 1 (56:03):
I guess.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
He did have to assistant coach. Looks like he was. Yeah, yeah,
he's just the get back guy or some type of
a helper, some type of bumont.
Speaker 5 (56:16):
That was pretty That was because the player wasn't expecting it.
Does everybody parted and then he kind of throws out
that stuff arm out.
Speaker 3 (56:25):
It was a good one. I'm saying it was a
good one. Oh yeah. Yeah. And the guy with the
headset on, he clearly saw it. He saw it like
a crap. With video now they don't miss anything.
Speaker 6 (56:42):
No, you can't do anything.
Speaker 3 (56:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (56:44):
Now on thirteen, Florida State is receiving a punt and
the ball hits a Florida State player in the ball
deflects thirty yards backwards. The punter recovers the ball, n
C State will have the ball once again. This is
a crazy video audio here of this game. It's video thirteen.
I didn't realize all this crazy stuff happened. This is insane.
(57:07):
So you have the you have here, the ball is
going to be received. Uh, Florida State's receiving the ball.
It hits one of the players and then the ball
back many thirty yards.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
And then they get the ball back.
Speaker 6 (57:22):
Yeah, bounce, Yeah, and I do I believe have the audio.
Speaker 5 (57:26):
Okay, yeah, no, that's that's fine. Audio is not required,
but it'd be funny. Oh wait, this is somebody recording it.
Speaker 3 (57:35):
Yeah. So he kicks it and it and it it
hits right here and going backwards all the way back,
and they they really only lost maybe a half a yard. Yes,
they gained the yard. It's the exact yes, the exact same. Yes,
it's crazy. It's the exact line of scrimmage, so Florida State.
(57:56):
It's crazy. That's a representation of how they're They're season
is gone. Yeah, yeah, I did. I see where I
thought they were good.
Speaker 5 (58:04):
They said he's coming back his head coach, really and
but they've only got five wins and need one more
to be Bowl eligible. But they didnt announce he's coming back.
But yeah, well, I mean he obviously think about how
it started. You beat Alabama and okay, we told.
Speaker 3 (58:20):
Y'all here we here we come.
Speaker 9 (58:22):
I even bought into it. I thought, well, they're gonna
be good, but that that running quarterback like he is,
and everybody was jumping all over gus, oh gus.
Speaker 3 (58:32):
Now Dicky was upset though, Yeah, he wasn't happy upset
the fan base. Big iron Ball coming up this weekend
means a lot. Are you still making me a step stool?
Speaker 6 (58:44):
By the way, you still know you have changed?
Speaker 3 (58:46):
I've got to I've got to change it now.
Speaker 6 (58:48):
Yeah, I guess, I guess it on the first guess work,
didn't you better not be a step stool? Dang it,
it was a step stool. If I guess on the
first guess, you have to change it?
Speaker 3 (58:58):
Yeah, no, I have. What I'm working on is different,
but that was I'm not gonna lie. That is what
I was doing. I was and he figured it out.
If some of you are like, what's going on? We
drew names, I don't know what? Uh?
Speaker 5 (59:12):
And and part of the big year ender is we
have to we have to make something for whoever's whoever's
name We drew and drew Adler's and you you.
Speaker 3 (59:22):
You got to make me something. But I don't like
making stuff. We I mean, I'm not that when I
whoever shows you care what Rick Rick is making you something? No,
is that right? Yeah? I think so? I mean, And
being the handy one, whoever whoever Rick's making something for
us is lucky, lucky you got loved.
Speaker 6 (59:40):
It's gonna be ornate.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
Yeah. No, you can take I guess instructions, you can
watch how to videos and stuff like that, but you
actually have to make it.
Speaker 5 (59:52):
Yes, yes, he can get Gary to help and maybe
you could even have a Gary that's with you, but
he can't do it.
Speaker 11 (59:59):
He can.
Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
You say, okay, now do this. Yeah, hand your hands
that need to be doing it. Yeah, right, exactly, that's
well said.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):

sleep quiz? What's a sleep quinn?
Speaker 5 (01:05:19):
Do you know there's some reels and stuff about Tim Tebow. Uh,
And that's that's I guess hitting hitting my feed. And
every time I listened to him, I'm like, man, he's
got a lot of really powerful things to say. But
all I do is I think of you doing doing
your Tim Tebow.
Speaker 3 (01:05:35):
Yeah, I thank you for that game day the other day. Yeah,
I'll start practicing again. Well, Lee doesn't like you don't know,
she doesn't. You can't. I'm not making fun. That's just
I'm trying to do an impression. It's not making fun
of nough body. I mean kind of. Frank wasn't making
fun of Madden.
Speaker 6 (01:05:54):
Yeah, that's different though, I think Greg.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
Yeah you are, you are kind of I'm not speedily
get it man of a thousand. Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 5 (01:06:03):
Well, you know why I think Lee says that about
Tim t be because you said that his voice kind
of aggravates you a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
And then that it's just it. They all don't get
me started. Well, I'm just saying that's what it's different
when you say standing there he I don't know. I'm
not gonna say nothing.
Speaker 5 (01:06:21):
Well, I'm just saying that's the different calliando, and I
don't think that's the exact same thing.
Speaker 6 (01:06:29):
Oh he does so much with the trafficking by the way,
just all kind of stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
You know it is.
Speaker 5 (01:06:37):
That's actually one of the ones I was watching. I'm like, man,
that's this is some powerful stuff what they're doing. And
then all I could think was your good doing it.
It's like, yeah, it's great, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:06:48):
Yeah, he trails off on me. I'm working on it.
Speaker 6 (01:06:51):
It's he and it's it's a dark world and they
throw out some facts there. Uh he and Jared Hudson. Uh,
those are the two guys recently that I've heard podcasts
with Jared Hudson being on this show and then Tim
Tebow being on Sean Ryan, and it is, uh, there's
some there's some really horrible things going on in the world,
(01:07:15):
and it is incredibly uh disappointing and horrifying to know
that the United States is one of the largest consumers'
if I think, the largest consumer of that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:28):
Horrible, horrible, horrible content.
Speaker 6 (01:07:30):
So I think we can uh.
Speaker 3 (01:07:34):
Yeah, we can bring back like public executions.
Speaker 6 (01:07:37):
Right guys, we kind of yeah. I think it's time.
Speaker 10 (01:07:40):
Yea.
Speaker 3 (01:07:41):
They Also I support Jared Hudson for sentate I.
Speaker 15 (01:07:47):
There it is.
Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
He's doing well too good.
Speaker 5 (01:07:50):
Have y'all watched Netflix Being Eddie, the documentary on Eddie Murphy,
Yet you're in love with it?
Speaker 11 (01:07:57):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:07:58):
No, there's just another story out about it, you know,
we talked about.
Speaker 5 (01:08:01):
Okay, the first update we had was that, you know,
it was revealed that he was paying for a lot
of celebrity deaths because they didn't have the money or
the family.
Speaker 9 (01:08:11):
Whether somebody any pay for buckweeds or put a headstone
up or something.
Speaker 3 (01:08:17):
Keep on, I'm not helping. I mean I did. Was
that what we talked about last arms crossed? And you're
just looking on. I'm just saying we did say Buck.
Speaker 5 (01:08:26):
Wait A couple of I forgot. Yeah, yeah it was, Yeah,
it was. It was a couple of them. I don't
know if it was that one, but it might might
have been. You know, he played buck Wait on st
not Live. Yeah, but it's also been revealed in this
uh this documentary being Eddie on Netflix that's out now,
that he there were three blockbuster hits that he regrets,
uh and wishes he never would have turned down. And
(01:08:49):
apparently it was Ghostbusters. Really yes, he uh he said
he was supposed to do Ghostbusters but didn't do that.
Speaker 3 (01:08:57):
Well, I bet it. Look at the script. It looked stupid.
He didn't do Rush Hour? Turned that down? Is that
the one rush Hour?
Speaker 6 (01:09:05):
Jackie Chan?
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
Yeah, yeah, that guy gets Chris Tucker.
Speaker 6 (01:09:12):
Yeah, so you've got two people to get on your nerves,
and that that one. I love Jackie Chan. Let me
say that I was I wanted to be Jackie Chan.
You know, growing up he does his own stunts. He
does his own which he does, but.
Speaker 16 (01:09:25):
He would get he would get hurt, like every time
he would maybe he shouldn't do snapped.
Speaker 6 (01:09:31):
His ankle had to wear a cast, and so he
just put a sock over his cast that was painted
like his other tennis shoe, just so he could and
when he moved his feet real fast, it looked exactly
the same. Love Jackie Chan, and then it is. It
is later years he has since become a kind of
a mouthpiece for the communists in China and everybody's like, buddy,
(01:09:54):
what's going on?
Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
A movie?
Speaker 6 (01:09:56):
Yeah, so that's that's he was one of my heroes.
I'm serious, growing up, he was like my hero man.
Mister nice guy is one of the original like action movies.
Speaker 3 (01:10:09):
Ever, I don't remember that many.
Speaker 6 (01:10:11):
Yeah, no, it's it's it's also very bad, you know, corny,
not a great movie, but that the stunts in it
are amazing.
Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
So let's say Red fought back to this Red.
Speaker 6 (01:10:21):
Yeah, Red Fox, Charlie Murphy and Rick James. James he
paid for their funerals. And but I don't think Buckwheat didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:10:29):
He put the buck wade a headstone up. Okay, yeah, right,
he paid somebody.
Speaker 6 (01:10:35):
He pays for those funerals.
Speaker 10 (01:10:38):
They say.
Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
Others.
Speaker 6 (01:10:40):
There are others, but these are the people listed. And
he says it says here, I'm just reading off the internet. Uh,
but he never actually attended those services. He didn't attend
the funerals.
Speaker 3 (01:10:51):
He just paid for him. But he paid for him.
I'm sure they didn't mind him missing it.
Speaker 6 (01:10:55):
He says that they quote shouldn't even have funerals. I
guess he's he's not a funeral guy, but wanted to pay.
Speaker 3 (01:11:01):
For his anti funeral.
Speaker 6 (01:11:03):
I guess did you you did watch Being Eddie, by
the way, you watched the.
Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
No, I have not watched started it, And I think
he did pay for what you're saying. But wait, yeah,
you can't say buck Wheat.
Speaker 5 (01:11:15):
No, I'm just saying. I was just saying you were
right again, is all. Let me get to this last one.
He also turned out how good it was.
Speaker 3 (01:11:24):
He also turned down framing Roger Rabbit. Well he should
have turned that one.
Speaker 5 (01:11:29):
So the uh so Ghostbusters movie was released in nineteen
eighty four, made about two hundred and forty three million
at the box office. Rush Hour had two sequels, and
Who Framed Roger Rabbit brought in about one hundred and
fifty six million domestics. So he wished he'd I know,
I get the numbers, but you would have had to
have been in Roger. But if you think about it,
it's like, yeah, I understand what you're saying. But he
(01:11:50):
said with Ghostbusters, he did Beverly Hills Cop instead.
Speaker 9 (01:11:55):
Which is one of the best, one of my favorite movies.
Beverly Hills got the original.
Speaker 5 (01:12:00):
Yeah, yeah, and then he went on to play in
movies like The Nutty Professor and Yeah, Doctor Doolittle and
stuff like that. So, I mean, there's reasons of why
he didn't do it, but he's just like, man, you know,
I had to turn those things down, and I just
I hate that it turned out.
Speaker 3 (01:12:16):
Daurna it did.
Speaker 6 (01:12:17):
Hey, while we're talking about shows and all that, I
mentioned on Apple TV, there was that alien invasion show
called Pluribus. I had watched the pilot only and I
was like, Wow, this seems like it's a good show.
The second episode was such a huge fall off. I
didn't even finish it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
It was it was, it was boring.
Speaker 6 (01:12:38):
The entire style of it changed, and I'm so sorry.
I'm watching the thing and there's okay, okay, another F bomb.
Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
Great.
Speaker 6 (01:12:46):
I recommended this on the show fantastic and then like,
you know, F bombs and some other jokes. I'm like, okay, great,
got it, So remove my endorsement of that show. The
pilot was really cool. The second episode not good at all.
(01:13:06):
So I'm removing my recommendation to watch the show pluribus.
Sorry to everyone watched appreciate those in and went wow
about that. Tayler was full of crap. Yeah, the pilot
was great, the second episode hard.
Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
That's the biggest fall off for a second episode of
any series I've ever seen ever.
Speaker 9 (01:13:23):
Yeah, let me tell you all this, since we're on
this subject. I was streaming, we were trying to find
something to watch.
Speaker 3 (01:13:29):
I got money and Lisa yeah with it anyway, So Netflix,
I think it's Netflix comes out and hey you Bob Baum's.
Speaker 9 (01:13:38):
Julie Roberts maybe her best performance ever. It's called After
the Hunt. Oh terrible. That's the most boring two hours
and twenty minutes, and it was don't watch it, don't
watch it.
Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
It's offensive. It isn't that. It ain't that. I wish
it would be at least offensive.
Speaker 6 (01:13:59):
It looked it's like one of those movies where everybody
just kind of stands.
Speaker 9 (01:14:02):
Around the most boring thing I've ever heard. Davis not
entertaining at all, and.
Speaker 3 (01:14:07):
Eddie Murphy paid for funerals, not deaths. Wasn't it hit?
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
He was in.
Speaker 1 (01:14:14):
A show.
Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
Thank you so much for tuning into the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (01:14:31):
It's the good time gang. Rick not with us today.
When we look he he wants to send all of
his love to all of you, your concerns, your prayers
for Rick and his family. Understandably, there are questions concerning
his current absence from the show, but that's not our
story to tell. Just continue to pray for him and
his immediate family, and he is going to be with
(01:14:52):
us as soon as he can. But as a staff
and I know all of you echo this, he's where
he needs to be right now, and this is the
last thing he needs to worry about, and so we
will continue to move on with the show as best
we can and take that off of him, and we
thank all of you because you help with that, because
we're all one big family, and I know all of
(01:15:14):
you are coming alongside Rick in prayer and and we
just can't thank you enough. That was just the biggest
thing he wanted us convey to all of you. It's
just thank you, thank you, and we appreciate you helping
us keep it in the road. I don't know how
good we're doing, but we sure are trying try. If
Rick of the Rick Burgess show in here, there is
going to be a difference, and so we're just trying
(01:15:35):
to that here. You will, you'll just we'll just try
to keep it in the road. Next hour, we do
have an update. Adler takes the kiddos, he and erin
to an Auburn game for the first time ever.
Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
How did that go? He said, he didn't even know
there was a game. So that's there for you.
Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
You know, anytime you hear slender Man, you're like, what's that?
The slender Man Stabber? He's the slender Man Stabber has
been captured following a nationwide man hunt. The nationwide man
hunt of the slender Man, and now it says here
(01:16:14):
it was Morgan Geyser. I guess is the nation is
that's who it is or was the Wisconsin woman convicted
in the twenty twenty four slender Man stabbing has been ended,
authorities announced Sunday night. The Madison Police Department confirmed Geyser
was taken into custody in Illinois at around ten thirty
(01:16:36):
four pm, ending the intense search.
Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
And it's a she. This is weird, but Guyser, it
is coming back to me as I'm looking at this.
Speaker 5 (01:16:46):
But she escaped, I guess after she cut off her
Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and fled.
Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
Her home.
Speaker 5 (01:16:57):
Those aren't easy to cut off, no, so they started
them from the man hunt from Morgan Geyser. It was
last seen, uh, you know, in the area around eight
pm the other night, and so the whereabouts were unknown
as of Sunday morning, but the department said they found
they found Guyser. Uh and guys are pleaded in twenty
(01:17:19):
seventeen guilty of a first degree murder or attempted at first.
Speaker 3 (01:17:25):
But they cut her up.
Speaker 9 (01:17:26):
Yeah, wow, you remember it was were they three of
them convicted or two? They turned on one of their
friends and they had this weird slender man thing. Yeah,
internet thing. Yeah, yes, yeah, it was just weird.
Speaker 3 (01:17:38):
It was I think just one other classmate. Yeah. And
then the third was the victim. She and a classmates
stabbed a girl nineteen times.
Speaker 5 (01:17:46):
Oh all right, she's been in custody, uh, in a
mental health institute for the last seven years.
Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
I me needs to stay there.
Speaker 5 (01:17:55):
But slender Man, the slender Man stabber has been captured.
So and it was it was it broke over. It
was a nationwide man hunt. So that's been resolved.
Speaker 9 (01:18:04):
So so you decided to cut that ankle thing off
and I'm I'm out. Yeah, yeah, I'm out, see you later.
Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
Yeah. It was a horrible story. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:18:14):
When you when you get through to the point of
an ankle brace, yeah, I mean you've been you're your problem.
Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
Yeah. If they got to keep keep you know, he's
supposed to be if.
Speaker 6 (01:18:26):
They have a homing device on you, like you're a
bear like shark, all right, let's keep track of all
those and then also that girl.
Speaker 3 (01:18:38):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:18:39):
Also over the weekend, I was kind of looking at
the TV a little bit. Didn't get to see anything,
but I see the new commie mayor hanging out with
Trump at the White House.
Speaker 3 (01:18:49):
Is that true.
Speaker 9 (01:18:50):
Yes, and Trump, you have you got that Adler. I
do like when they ask him if he steal thinks
Trunk's a fascist?
Speaker 6 (01:18:56):
Yes, very awkward, very funny.
Speaker 3 (01:19:01):
Trump was like, you ain't got to ask that or something.
I mean, he goes, you can say yes, that's okay,
he goes, that's okay.
Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
You can just say yes. It's easier than explaining I
don't mind. And it all happens very quick.
Speaker 3 (01:19:14):
That's why I read it. But it is very funny here. Yeah,
Mondami the socialist we're.
Speaker 15 (01:19:20):
Elect about A House resolution just passed overwhelmingly to condemn socialism,
including with eighty six Democrats, all of House dem leadership
and the minority leader had Kim Jeffries, despite his endorsement
of you.
Speaker 3 (01:19:34):
What's your reaction to that?
Speaker 6 (01:19:35):
Okay, there are the first question with you.
Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
I focused very little on resolutions. Frankly, I've been focusing
on socialism. I understand. I think the focus is on that.
I think follow is a democratic socialist. I've been very
open about that.
Speaker 6 (01:19:47):
Differences about ideology, but the place of agreement is the
work that needs to be done to make New York
City affordable.
Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
That's what I look forward to that's.
Speaker 15 (01:19:54):
Clarify your answer to Stephen Nelson. He asked about your
comment calling the president a fast and your answer was,
President Trump and I have been clear about our positions
and our views.
Speaker 3 (01:20:06):
Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?
I've spoken about That's okay, okay, explaining it. Awkward moment,
so funny, y'all have not seen that he's standing right
beside just so much. Just then he pats him on
(01:20:31):
the arm. That's okay, and that guy's so uncomfortable. Yeah, well,
yeah I did. Oh my goodness, Jack awkward, that's hilarious.
Jack Pasobic is a uh, he's a Jack Paso.
Speaker 6 (01:20:46):
I'm probably saying that name wrong. But he's a conservative okay, okay.
He's a conservative commentator, very involved and he was actually
in the room when the new mayor elect mom Doni
in the White House and he actually pressed Mondammie and
that was this is great if you got if.
Speaker 3 (01:21:05):
We squeeze in about twenty second twenty seconds.
Speaker 6 (01:21:07):
Well, I'll just summarize it. Jack was like, hey, man,
are you going to continue this idea of raceed based
property taxes? Mamdammy says no, and Jack says, that's what
you said, Mondammy said, the use of the term was
a description of neighborhoods. I was just describing neighborhoods, not
a description of intent. But Sovic says, so you do
(01:21:28):
intend to tax the whitter neighborhoods more, and then he
went on to say, we intend to create a.
Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
Fair property tax system. That's fair and equitable. That's fair.
Speaker 5 (01:21:39):
Congratulations New York. Yeah what you got, buddy, that's that's
I What a mess and what an awkward moment.
Speaker 3 (01:21:48):
The Oval halts go in and say, yes, that's all right.
Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
Thank you so much for hanging out with the Rick
Burgess Show. I am speedy. There is oh Greg Burgess.
Look at him, old life coach Greg Burgess taking a
sip a bug a bots off, be ready to go
all week? Yep, Oh really did you make it? I
did put it on yourself? Really? Yeah, I must miscount.
Speaker 10 (01:22:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
Adie van Adler is here.
Speaker 5 (01:22:32):
He's in the TV room taking care of all video
producing that side of things. If you miss a minute,
I always know the archives are available for you. Shortly
after the live show, he gets that together and it's
available also a YouTube option that you can always go
back check out those shows. So you should have us
whenever you want us The Rick Burgess Show And as
(01:22:52):
you know, our fearless leader is not with us, and
we want to thank you for all the concerns and
prayers for Rick and his family. Understandably questions concerning his
current absence from the show, but that's not our story
to tell.
Speaker 3 (01:23:04):
Just continue to pray for him as all of you are.
Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
We've we've heard from so many of you and we
cannot thank you enough and he wanted to pass that
along from the bottom of our heart.
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
Thank you so much. But he is where he needs
to be as a staff.
Speaker 5 (01:23:17):
We've told him that and uh and he he knows
that we'll desperately try to keep it in the road
and uh until he gets back and hopefully that's very soon.
I want to thank you all for being here on
Thanksgiving week. We've talked about that, no gobble gobble, but
we're still thankful for you. And I'm having to say
thank a lot instead of think, uh, yeah, yeah, I'm
(01:23:42):
I'm truggling now now that y'all kind of called me out.
Now I even hear it, and I'm trying to say
saying sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:23:50):
My goal is to is to spit the thank you,
thank you. This Mike's a mess out here and they
think give yeah, yeah, so not Thanksgiving. But I'm not
saving it that Thanksgiving.
Speaker 6 (01:24:06):
Buddy, And I noticed it for I mean, you did
not a decade caller said something and I wasn't going
to say you did.
Speaker 3 (01:24:14):
This was never gonna come.
Speaker 6 (01:24:15):
I was never going to say anything.
Speaker 3 (01:24:17):
And a caller said, never going to say anything. I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:24:19):
It even came to like, okay that you say things.
I've noticed some things about you, buddy that I'm not
going to say.
Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
Well, I'm gonna tell you what I didn't have, very
thankful for my workplace, best friend.
Speaker 6 (01:24:34):
Thanksgiving is a tough time for you, and you're doing great.
You're doing a tough time for me to time. You're
struggling saying it is not the actual day.
Speaker 3 (01:24:45):
Do you want to why? Greg? Because we wake up
with a Macy Thanksgiving Day. You can't wait, you can't wait.
Speaker 5 (01:24:51):
You know this year, I think we're going to be well,
I'm saying it again. Well, I say, realize, I say,
think a lot, think and thank uh because we're gonna
be on the road early.
Speaker 3 (01:24:59):
I don't know. Traveling you definitely can't watch it on
the radio. Normally when we pull up you know what
Johnatan and Regg have on what the parade? Oh yeah,
we get there in the parade zone.
Speaker 5 (01:25:10):
Ye, baby, you'll get there in time to say Sana.
We've talked about this in years past. I don't sit
down and like watch it with a cup of coff
and go you'all be quiet.
Speaker 3 (01:25:20):
Here comes you know, bugs bunny.
Speaker 5 (01:25:21):
But there's nothing that says like Thanksgiving morning, like just
having that on in the background.
Speaker 6 (01:25:27):
You know, I get secondhand from watching the performances.
Speaker 9 (01:25:30):
Yeah, yeah, when they stop and do it live like
and they got yeah, like their own Broadway.
Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
Yeah, yeah, that is that's a little much.
Speaker 6 (01:25:37):
And here's Casey and the Sunshine Band all lip syncing.
Nobody's really on right. The drummer has like one drum
and he's holding it in his hand like yeah, I'm like,
that's just embarrassing. Just Y'll just wave you didn't need
to play the toy drums, right, miming then.
Speaker 5 (01:25:53):
Yeah, I'm kind of in a battle with myself with
that because I understand what they have in front of them,
and that is it's a parade. It's not a Broadway player,
it's not a concert. They're just it's just an act.
But I do get embarrassed sometimes when they go when
they're off on it, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:26:11):
What are you doing here?
Speaker 10 (01:26:12):
There?
Speaker 3 (01:26:12):
Well, what do you mean? What am I doing here?
It's amazing parade? Everybody knows. Then they started kicking you know, Yeah,
it's all that.
Speaker 6 (01:26:21):
Speaking of plays and everything, Greg, how was the movie
Wicked this weekend?
Speaker 3 (01:26:26):
I wouldn't know.
Speaker 2 (01:26:27):
Good.
Speaker 9 (01:26:28):
Yeah, I can't think of any scenario that would have
me watching that Jo Roberts movie that I hated.
Speaker 6 (01:26:36):
Okay, well it cleaned up at the box office, and yes,
yes this is the sequel you just said, Wicked for good,
it's the second one.
Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
It's the second one.
Speaker 6 (01:26:47):
And people are saying that it is because they used
most of the songs that are in the play in
the first movie, so there really wasn't much material from
the play left for the second one. So but it's
cleaning up watching the box office.
Speaker 3 (01:27:01):
That feature green people. That's just like, that's racism, Greg,
that's called racist. Green person's green.
Speaker 9 (01:27:09):
And they're talking all right while we're talking about because
he's a you know, animated while.
Speaker 3 (01:27:15):
We're talking about this.
Speaker 6 (01:27:16):
Y'all have seen.
Speaker 3 (01:27:17):
There's the the there's the actor actress. What's what's this?
Speaker 8 (01:27:21):
This act this?
Speaker 3 (01:27:22):
This what's her name? She's in Wicked? What's her turn around?
Look this singer? Oh yeah, Arianna, Ariana grind thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:27:31):
I couldn't think of that.
Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
So remember she went out and Pete what's his name?
Speaker 6 (01:27:34):
Ye, Pete Davidson.
Speaker 3 (01:27:35):
Yes, Yes, that's weird. That's a weird combo.
Speaker 6 (01:27:38):
Before Wicked, she looked kind of normal, you know, a
little bit of cultural appropriation going on there, but she
looked pretty normal. But there's several actors in this movie
that before Wicked they look normal, and now in Wicked
she looks like totally drawn up.
Speaker 3 (01:27:53):
That's like that, guys.
Speaker 6 (01:27:57):
Everybody on this movie is like dry up like a raisin,
like an anorexic raisin. That's what's her name from uh
Crutchy Tiger, Hidden Dragon. She's all dried up like a raisin.
Speaker 11 (01:28:07):
Two.
Speaker 6 (01:28:07):
And then the main chick that's green in the movie,
who's you know, but she's all dried up.
Speaker 3 (01:28:12):
To y'all, it's it's like these people, it's it's it's
what's everybody's like?
Speaker 6 (01:28:17):
What's going on with the wicked. What is going on
they all become?
Speaker 3 (01:28:21):
Are they all just anorexic buddies together?
Speaker 6 (01:28:24):
Like, what's going on? Is they are not healthy? No,
they don't look healthy.
Speaker 3 (01:28:30):
Yes, yes, yes, sadly you have to ask that because
of AI and people, I don't believe anything, and uh,
you don't believe that President Trump? What's his name? Yea mom, dummy?
Speaker 6 (01:28:41):
This Cynthia, Cynthia Arrivo and Ariana Grande. There's something weird
going on. They're like weirdly all over each other in
all this press, but they're doing They're just like weirdly
like in each other's faces, in each other's space, and
it just makes me incredibly uncomfortable and mad that y'all
haven't seen any.
Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
Of this anything wicked. I normally don't do a lot.
I'm trying. If it's your thing, that's fine, I'm not
it's not my thing.
Speaker 6 (01:29:08):
But they're just like weirdly all over each other all
the time.
Speaker 3 (01:29:12):

Speaker 6 (01:29:35):

Now they do look anorexic.
Speaker 3 (01:30:18):
Yes, they look anorexic. And it's uh, it's concerning the
odd and zois and wicked.
Speaker 5 (01:30:23):
If you can see your collar bone through your your
dress or your shirt and it's poking out, yeah yeah,
or you want to look at that like your ribs,
your ribs.
Speaker 6 (01:30:32):
Yeah, I don't We don't need to see ribs looking wicked.
Speaker 5 (01:30:35):
Yeah, it's tough for two ladies with extremely long fingernails
to hold hands.
Speaker 3 (01:30:40):
Yeah, they were trying. They're the nails like the nails
are their own person. No sense having nails that long. No, no,
how do you use the bathroom? Yeah? Huh, no sense?
Think about it?
Speaker 10 (01:30:50):

Speaker 3 (01:30:51):
I said think to think about it.
Speaker 6 (01:30:53):
You know, I can't these these parade performances, especially, Yeah, it's.
Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
The parade day.
Speaker 6 (01:30:59):
Everybody he knows about it?
Speaker 3 (01:31:01):
Oh god, is that everybody knew everybody? When we come back,
Chris and Aaron take the.
Speaker 9 (01:31:10):
Kids to Auburn, Okay battle against the Boys Powerhouse Burcer.
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
We had to tell him there was a game. I
don't the football.
Speaker 1 (01:31:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, still denying any involvement
in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine.
Speaker 5 (01:31:40):
Rick Burgess, it is the Rick Burgess Show, ritten out
with us today.
Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
So it's the good time game, Dirty Calvin and the Boys,
Gloomy Greg and the Gulf Rats, and we are rolling
through it. Eight six six eight eight six big box.
I'm sorry for that. Eight six big box or.
Speaker 5 (01:31:58):
Eight eight eight six two four forty eight sixty nine,
and that's the number we'll be taking unscreen phone calls
before you know it. So play nice and get ready.
You don't have to impress Greg. He says, go to
the line, but just don't go so far. So Eddie
van Adlert and the family went down to the planes
this past weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:32:19):
We talked about it.
Speaker 5 (01:32:20):
It was it was hyped up, anticipated, first time for
the kiddos to go to the past game.
Speaker 3 (01:32:25):
Oh he had it like he liked it. Yeah, thank
you to In fact, I got to be honest.
Speaker 6 (01:32:31):
I ended up getting parking pass and tickets from just
a random It was a friend of the show.
Speaker 3 (01:32:38):
I should.
Speaker 6 (01:32:40):
So I want to say thank you John and Daniel.
Actually Daniel hooked me up with a parking past too,
so okay, it was thank you guys, very well done.
So we Saturday morning we wanted to hit the road.
It's me and my wife Aaron, and then our five
year old daughter Ruby and our two year old son Ezra.
Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
You got the auburn gear.
Speaker 6 (01:33:04):
We got our auburn gear on. I was gonna wear
my bo Jackson jersey and be twins with Ezra, but
then I found my old Weagle staff shirt. Weigel is
the campus radio station.
Speaker 3 (01:33:16):
Where I had a Monday Morning Goodness. I had him
come back and speak at the alumni Yeah. It was
a big crowd there.
Speaker 7 (01:33:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:33:25):
So yeah, yeah, I was. I was the station manager
for one and I also had a show. I was
more well known for Monday Morning metal Mania.
Speaker 10 (01:33:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:33:39):
Plus, Ezra wanted to wear that jersey.
Speaker 9 (01:33:40):
But this is a football game, and you decided, yeah,
that's a good one about it.
Speaker 3 (01:33:45):
So A took your jersey.
Speaker 6 (01:33:46):
So Ezra took the jersey and I wore my legal
staff shirt.
Speaker 3 (01:33:49):
It says staff on the bats, I'm important.
Speaker 6 (01:33:53):
I was really, I'm gonna be honest. I wanted to
shout out from like a Weagle person, like hey, I
love we was nothing.
Speaker 3 (01:34:01):
Nobody gave me.
Speaker 6 (01:34:02):
Anything on the shirt. I wanted to find ag. I
wanted to con a Weegal breath breath Brethren Brethren.
Speaker 3 (01:34:10):
Yeah, probably because you were carrying a child covering up
the logo. Okay, that's true. So he's wearing about Jackson jersey.
Speaker 9 (01:34:17):
That's the god he used to work here for Monday metalsbody.
Speaker 3 (01:34:22):
He's the reason I am who I am.
Speaker 6 (01:34:24):
Look, mom, he got me through senior year with his
I'm in Morning because it's morning morning show. That was
the name of my morning show. You were just a
clamor I'm in morning because it's morning morning show. And
the whole stick was.
Speaker 3 (01:34:37):
Oh, it's so early, I'm so tired. There's the whole stick.
Speaker 9 (01:34:44):
Everything you said revolved around well it's early. Hey, it's
eight forty five. It's early in the morning. If you're tired,
I know I'm tired too.
Speaker 3 (01:34:53):
Just coming off one get ready, that was the whole show.
Don't get flash, but it's early, and I thought it
was good. Yes, what the time?
Speaker 9 (01:35:06):
It probably was all right, you know, because I mean,
did you get your metal voice when you did the
Metal Show?
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:35:12):
Come on?
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (01:35:13):
No.
Speaker 6 (01:35:13):
In fact, I found you do the lall Tiger's voice.
I found an old tape. I found old as an
old CD of the of the Monday Morning Metal Mania.
Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
Show, and I'm like you please, it's Monday morning and
it's seventy three degrees outside.
Speaker 6 (01:35:27):
I was all nervous.
Speaker 3 (01:35:28):
How much do we have to pay you to bring
that so we can hear it? Please? One thousand dollars,
please please? It's embarrassing Christmas present to me?
Speaker 6 (01:35:36):
And I skipped forward and I could I skipped forward,
and I'm like, it's now it's seventy four degrees. I'm like, buddy,
you said seventy two degrees last break.
Speaker 3 (01:35:46):
Nobody cares that it's seventy it's really heating up. This
metal is heating up. It's too two degrees higher than
it was last time. That's a good sun.
Speaker 6 (01:35:56):
And now here is here's as I lay dying, You know,
So I wore my Weagle staff shirt. Didn't get a
shout out from anybody. The whole time I was there,
was really hoping like it never happened.
Speaker 3 (01:36:10):
Is still on air?
Speaker 6 (01:36:12):
Yes, it's still it's the campus radio station. I didn't
take it off the air.
Speaker 3 (01:36:16):
I didn't you left it. I didn't really know that.
Speaker 6 (01:36:18):
He just spoke it.
Speaker 3 (01:36:20):
Remember he walked out on his meal, didn't pay for
his meal. I forgot about it, right star. It was
that I forgot and I was late, and somebody with
a billy spoken left.
Speaker 6 (01:36:30):
Hey, we were short one payment, so we wanted to
leave for the Auburn game between like eight and eight thirty.
So we hit the road at nine forty five.
Speaker 3 (01:36:41):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 9 (01:36:44):
I'm not, Hey, that's so not too bad, too shy. Seriously,
Like the night before.
Speaker 6 (01:36:52):
We'll tell me you want to leave, like nine o'clock.
She goes a suit for between eight and eight thirty.
I was like, all right, close the door, nine five,
hitting the road.
Speaker 3 (01:37:03):
So that changed. I'm mourning a little bit. Yeah, missed
everything you went there for, which is pretty game. But
other than that, you know why they were lated. He
kept trying on different shirtsil we got down to Wigle. Hey, honey,
what does this one to look like?
Speaker 13 (01:37:15):
You work there?
Speaker 3 (01:37:17):
You know I did campus radio forever. I don't know
why I got you talking feminine and it's fine, it's fine.
So we we Actually the trip there was not not horrible.
You know, you're just waiting to just too eighty yeah,
oh yeah, and how many stops.
Speaker 6 (01:37:35):
We actually did not stop one time? We drove all
the way. Yeah, yeah, it was I mean it was
a painful, you know drive.
Speaker 3 (01:37:44):
Did you take car? You didn't take the vans? Well
i'll show you here. Here we are parking, and here
we are walking away from the sweet van.
Speaker 6 (01:37:53):
Here it is so uh, here's the sweet van. Here,
there's the sweet van. Sweet van's looking good.
Speaker 3 (01:38:01):
Look at that.
Speaker 6 (01:38:03):
Oh that's that's your dream, all right, So maybe that's
a swap. That's a swat vehicle. That's not the sweet van.
And go to be honest you guys. Remember I told
a story about getting stranded in the van just last week.
Speaker 3 (01:38:14):
Yeah, I had a radiator hater hose blow and I
had to get a toe.
Speaker 6 (01:38:20):
I was with Ruby, I was picking up the kids,
and it was a thing. And I thought to myself,
all right, do I take the van which is sweet?
We've got room, we got you know. And yeah, And
so I chickened out and I took my wife's.
Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
We took the wifes. That's smart, it's more dependable.
Speaker 6 (01:38:40):
I'm like, what's worse having to change the diaper in
the back of it like a CRV, which is not ideal.
In the van, I've got like a whole changing table.
I can stand up in the van, which is great.
What's worse though, being stuck on the side of the
road or having to change in one diaper in the
back of a cr And most.
Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
People don't drive a delivery van? Is there everyday va?
That's true, that's true. And that quick question, and I'm
serious about this. Why is Aaron carrying you? Are you
not walking? That's my son, that's my two year old
son Isra. Okay, that's my two year old son, Isra buddy.
Yeah all right, So that's how sweight is that swap vehicle?
Speaker 6 (01:39:14):
Though? That's what I want my van to look like.
Oh yeah, slowly, but surely it's coming along. So yeah,
it's just like, y'all, please listen to my voice.
Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
I'm like trying to amp up everybody. Here we go,
what side say?
Speaker 8 (01:39:29):
Worry go.
Speaker 3 (01:39:33):
I'm dead inside already.
Speaker 6 (01:39:35):
I'm already dead inside.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
See you see Ruby already. It's like he's been doing
this all morning.
Speaker 6 (01:39:44):
We're twenty minutes from the house.
Speaker 3 (01:39:45):
I want to go home.
Speaker 6 (01:39:47):
We're twenty minutes from the house. So like, you know,
you gotta help with the attitude a lot of times,
I'm pretty I gotta.
Speaker 3 (01:39:53):
I gotta know. Did a little bit of you go? Okay,
let's go back. Watch sounds good? Okay?
Speaker 6 (01:40:02):
Ruby had her little cheerleading outfit all threat sink and cute.
But we we yeah, I chicken down, guys, didn't take
the van.
Speaker 3 (01:40:11):
We uh we got there in time. Get inside, hang on,
hang on, you get inside. So you're at the you're
at the stadium, and now did you get so? Did
you get there?
Speaker 6 (01:40:20):
So late.
Speaker 5 (01:40:20):
You couldn't enjoy really a lot of the outside of
the stadium stuff we did.
Speaker 7 (01:40:24):
We did.
Speaker 3 (01:40:24):
We had to go straight inside. I didn't do anything outside,
had to go straight inside.
Speaker 6 (01:40:30):
If we wanted to see this eagle, the stupid eagle fly. Oh,
I shouldn't see it.
Speaker 3 (01:40:33):
Okay, all right, so beautifully when we come back, we'll
pick up the great tradition the Adlers. I guess you
got through security.
Speaker 1 (01:40:41):
Well, here's the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
Thank you so much for tuning in to the Rick
Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (01:41:02):
Rick not with us today, Lord willing, he'll be back soon,
and he thanks you so much for your concerns and
prayers over his family. Understandably, he's where he needs to
be and we look forward to seeing him soon. But
we are at attempting to keep this thing going, and
we thank you for your support and helping helping us.
We'll take some on screen phone calls later this hour.
(01:41:23):
We're in the middle of Adler telling us how he
and Aaron took the kids to the Auburn football game.
But right now, this portion of the program is sponsored
by chef iq dot com.
Speaker 3 (01:41:34):
I mean here it is cooking for.
Speaker 5 (01:41:36):
Thanksgiving, and I said Thanksgiving is high stakes. It feels
like one dried turkey and hey, look it can It'll
run the day. I mean, come on, we love no,
that's why we love chef i Q. Since this wireless
cooking thermometer takes the guesswork out of the holiday cooking Greg,
I think Rick asked you this, but the USDA says
a turkey's got to hit what temperature to be safe.
Speaker 3 (01:41:58):
Do you remember one hundreds forty eighth sixty five one
hundred and sixty five reees fahrenheit.
Speaker 5 (01:42:04):
Your eyes can deceive you too, but chef iq ensures
you hit that perfect temp every time, whether you're roasting, grilling,
pan syring, even smoking the turkey. They've got you covered
and it couldn't be any easier. You just insert the sensor,
tell the app what you're cooking, then sit back and relax.
Speaker 3 (01:42:19):
I liked having one of them. Yeah, I think I'm
gonna get one chef iq.
Speaker 5 (01:42:23):
The chef iq I should say, since tells you when
to flip it, when to take it off the heat,
even how long you need to let it rest. Basically,
it's like having a personal chef watching the stove so
you can hang out with guests and enjoy the day.
Speaker 11 (01:42:37):
I like that.
Speaker 5 (01:42:38):
No more oven peeking and we all love that. No
more dried out turkey, just perfectly cooked meals. Every time
I'm bad about peaking in the oven. Oh yeah, because
then all the heat comes out and everything perfect. You
got steaks, no problem, chicken, no problem, dish, whatever you're cooking.
Like I said, it's the ultimate gift, perfect for the
seasoned cooks, kitchen keys, or even everyone in between. Maybe
(01:43:02):
that's what we should take. John Aitt and Rigg just
show up. Yeah, but does that tell them they don't
know how.
Speaker 3 (01:43:06):
To what kind of is? But as a share Turkey's
going to drive.
Speaker 5 (01:43:10):
Use this get thirty percent off today at chefiq dot

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):

Speaker 5 (01:43:25):
Rick Burgess Show dot com under the sponsors Jump on
this today, Get it while you can. All right, So
we're in the middle. As I said of Adler recap
and going to the Auburn game. He's got his wife,
his two kids. They left a little later than they
wanted they've made it down to Auburn, not even stopping
just in time. He left the cool van at home,
drove his wife's car. They've made it to the stadium,
(01:43:48):
but they're so late they can't stop and enjoy the
pregame festivities outside of the stadium. You've got to go
straight in. Yes, And so now that's where we left it.
Y'all are kind of entering the security checkpoint.
Speaker 6 (01:44:00):
Yeah, and real quick. I haven't been back to Auburn
since twenty twenty two, since you owned a campus, since
I went to go see Black Panther two. Oh my god,
so good with my Best Buddies from the Best Buddies program.
Speaker 9 (01:44:15):
What year was it when you went and had a
press pass because I remember watching the game and you
were down the sideline with your camera.
Speaker 6 (01:44:20):
Yeah, I think that was the twenty nineteen Iron Bowl.
Speaker 3 (01:44:24):
If I had to guess, it's.
Speaker 6 (01:44:27):
I think it was a twenty nineteen Iron Bowl. And
I got like in the coach interview. You can see
me on TV on the broadcast their interview and the
coach and I'm like, my.
Speaker 3 (01:44:37):
Stupid face is right there with my camera. I'm a journalist.
Speaker 12 (01:44:41):
I'm a pro.
Speaker 6 (01:44:43):
So yeah, the fans stormed the field after that one.
Speaker 3 (01:44:46):
That was wild.
Speaker 6 (01:44:47):
Yeah, So it is odd because I went to college
there and went home and back and forth a bunch
on that road, and it's just weird, how curves of
an old road that you haven't been on a while
like bring back all these weird memories. That was weirding
me out. I was all of a sudden back to
being a college student again. I remember the time I
was moving from one apartment to another in between like
(01:45:10):
sophomore junior year, and my Nissan Ultimate was.
Speaker 3 (01:45:13):
Packed so full.
Speaker 6 (01:45:14):
The trunk was full, the back seat was full, and
the shotgun past your seat absolutely full. And the last
thing that I squeezed in there was my snake in
this huge glass terrarium.
Speaker 3 (01:45:26):
And I'll never forget driving.
Speaker 6 (01:45:28):
Home just to take that stuff home for a week
or two and having my snake in the riding shotgun
in the big glass terrarium with me.
Speaker 3 (01:45:37):
So the one that you lost him probably I started
slithering through the apartment complex.
Speaker 6 (01:45:42):
Yeah, he actually got lost a couple of times. One
time he was in a couch for like two weeks.
Girls sat on that couch. A buddy of mine slept
on that couch and then two weeks later we're looking
for the remote and we're like, oh, there's my snake
in the couch.
Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
Imagine that thing coming up between your legs.
Speaker 6 (01:45:58):
Yeah, so that was but wow, Auburn continued, every time
I go back, it's it's built up.
Speaker 3 (01:46:05):
More and more and more every time. It's wild.
Speaker 6 (01:46:08):
But so we get there and and thank you again
for the parking passage. All that was a That was
a game changer because we would have been walking a
long time.
Speaker 3 (01:46:18):
Kids don't go. Don't do good with traffic, they they yeah,
and then probably stopping.
Speaker 6 (01:46:24):
We're in traffic trying to get to the the parking lot,
and you know, you get to inch forward and then
the people that are walking next to you pass you,
and then you pass them, and then they passed you again.
And Ruby kept pointing that out. She goes, I knew
walking would be better. I knew walking would be better.
Speaker 3 (01:46:41):
Like, okay, you're five, all right to go.
Speaker 6 (01:46:44):
So we get there, we park, we get in, and
it's thick. It is thick, buddies, even though it was
just the mercer game, Yeah it was, it was. There
was a lot of people there.
Speaker 3 (01:46:53):
It was packed out.
Speaker 5 (01:46:54):
So the tickets did work. Yeah, because you're notorious for
going to events and can't get in.
Speaker 3 (01:46:59):
Yes, yeah, you did get in.
Speaker 6 (01:47:00):
Yes anything in fact I had, I had.
Speaker 3 (01:47:05):
I had two sets of tickets.
Speaker 6 (01:47:07):
I had tickets in one spot and I had tickets
in another spot. I initially bought tickets. I bought tickets
in the upper deck. I talked about going to the
game on the air, and and John, who hooked me
up with a parking pass, was like, and we're not
using our tickets.
Speaker 3 (01:47:23):
You can. You can use it and you get free food.
Speaker 6 (01:47:25):
And I'm like what. So I actually was going to go.
I was going to give the tickets that I bought.
I was going to give them to a buddy of mine,
and he had he had already bought his. I'm like, well,
And I ended up being we just had two sets
of tickets. I said, you know what, I'm taking a
two year old who's still in diapers, and a five
year old and my wife, and if one section is
a horrible nightmare, maybe the other section won't be.
Speaker 14 (01:47:47):
So that.
Speaker 6 (01:47:48):
I felt bad for not for not getting rid of
the tickets or whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:47:52):
In some kind of way. There was a lot of
empty sake.
Speaker 6 (01:47:54):
It was it was actually very packed out, was it.
Speaker 3 (01:47:56):
Yes, you could tell there were sections. I mean it
looked like a good crowd, don't get me wrong.
Speaker 10 (01:48:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:48:01):
But but but you know, the weekend before the Iron Bowls,
some people say, I'm not going to go to that one.
Speaker 6 (01:48:05):
We are desperate to see this eagle fly. If we
don't see this eagle fly, what it's going to be
a wasted trip. And I'm trying to you know, I'm
really trying to brainwash my children into being Auburn fans,
you know, the whole thing. So we get to our
seats and we're like, okay, this is this is great.
We're like right in on the fifty yard line and
this is our lower level seats. And we have to
get up once to go to the bathroom. And we
(01:48:27):
go back down and we walk past like, you know,
four people.
Speaker 3 (01:48:30):
Sorry, sorry, sorry, excuse me. Excuse me, sorry, button face,
button face, sorry, sorry, excuse me?
Speaker 6 (01:48:35):
Get up again. We get up again to go get food,
and so we come back down and then we have
to get up again to go to another bathroom.
Speaker 3 (01:48:42):
Stop again. So do you just stand up let people
go by, or do you move your legs stand stand up? Whatever?
Speaker 6 (01:48:49):
And then we all go up to get all food.
We're all getting food, and so we're coming back and
we're like, we go. If I miss this eagle fly,
I'm gonna be so upset. We get there and there's
people in our in our seats. No, and this this
lady that we passed. I had walked past her several
times already, and she goes, those are our seats. She
(01:49:13):
says that to me, those are not and I'm like,
and I say it. I'm like, no, no, no, Section
six Road thirty seven, which is the actual thing. And
I'm like, oh, seats you know six or ten, that's
that's us. And she's like, I don't think so, and
go I'm I'm holding.
Speaker 3 (01:49:29):
Food and a kid. Don't forget.
Speaker 6 (01:49:31):
I've got a clear backpack on and I look like
a child.
Speaker 3 (01:49:34):
Headed to daycare.
Speaker 6 (01:49:35):
One of you is wrong and I'm sweating so much.
I'm sweating so much.
Speaker 11 (01:49:39):
No, she was.
Speaker 6 (01:49:40):
I will say this, she is so sweet, y'all. We've
not only been going back and forth a million times,
bothering everybody around us, we're in the wrong seats.
Speaker 3 (01:49:48):
How did you do that?
Speaker 6 (01:49:50):
I'm like, she's telling me, arguing, they're just like you
did the gap.
Speaker 3 (01:49:53):
I did not argue. She was very nice. I was wrong.
Speaker 6 (01:49:57):
She was very nice, and I was like, I think
I'm in the I was in the wrong section. I
memorized the wrong I memorized our seats, but I rememberized
the wrong. I was two sections over. I had the
right row, I had the right seats. I had the
wrong section.
Speaker 3 (01:50:10):
You argued about it. I didn't your own business.
Speaker 5 (01:50:13):
Hey, Aaron, Hey, back up, honey, no, no, back up.
We got to back out.
Speaker 3 (01:50:18):
I'm in the wrong.
Speaker 6 (01:50:20):
Blocking people. And I'm like, well, just let me just
let me get to the wrong seats and look at
my phone. I get we get back to the wrong
seats again, look at my phone. I have to walk
past her again. And the lady's like, yeah, we've been
here for like ten years.
Speaker 3 (01:50:33):
She was pretty sure. Yeah, And I was like, you
had been here in ten years. I think I'm wrong, y'all.
It is so embarrassing. I felt so stupid. I felt
like such a and I'm sweating. So he's disturbed the
section he shouldn't even been. When she first brought it up,
he was confident. He was wright No, no, no, it
(01:50:53):
was Hey, you're not see what shirt I'm wearing I
used to own this camp and I was on or whatever.
It's gone. It's exactly what you say, staff on the back.
Speaker 4 (01:51:06):
Point.
Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
So you're getting started. Have you missed the affering, ma'am?
Speaker 6 (01:51:10):
I've walked past you like four times already. I wish you.
I'm so sorry. She was just being she was being
so nice, and surely she thought every time we were leaving,
we weren't coming back.
Speaker 3 (01:51:18):
I guess it was her seats, but they were open
at the moment.
Speaker 6 (01:51:21):
Yes, the half of her crew wasn't there yet, Greg.
Speaker 3 (01:51:24):
This also means that he kept leaving. She would lean
over and go, I don't know who this is? Who
is it? Who is this?
Speaker 6 (01:51:32):
So I know you have to do the walk of
shame back up two stations, two sections off. We have
to do the walker stand back and they have these
like these like blinds up that so you can't see
when you're up in that level that you can't see.
Speaker 3 (01:51:45):
Onto the field. I'm like, if I miss this stupid
eagle flying.
Speaker 6 (01:51:49):
Here's a picture of my face, y'all, Please look at
how stressed out I am.
Speaker 3 (01:51:52):
Ready here it is very stretched. Find our seats, all right?
Hang on?
Speaker 1 (01:52:00):
Is the rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (01:52:20):
Thank you, and I'm trying to say thank you correctly
for tuning into the Rick Bird this show. We have
hit this a number of times, but just want to
make sure that we continue to hit it because some
of you tune in at different times and you do
not know. But we appreciate all your concerning prayers for
Rick and his family. Understandably, there are questions concerning his
current absence from the show, and we're not trying to
(01:52:42):
be all secretive and oh but that's not our story
to tell. Just just continue to pray he is where
he needs to be taking care of his immediate family.
As a staff, we have assured him, hey, look, don't
you worry about this place. It might not be great,
but we're trying to keep it on the road and
so he'll be back as soon as he can.
Speaker 3 (01:53:00):
But all of you, I know, are in agreement with
us that he is where he needs to be. And
just continue to.
Speaker 5 (01:53:06):
Pray for his family. As we are moving along in
the show, we have been left with Adler getting into
the Auburn game. If you're just joining us, his family
went to the game, first time his kids have ever
been to an Auburn football game. They're experiencing what it's like,
which I know had to be pretty cool. But he's
in the wrong section to his kids when he was
(01:53:28):
screaming at some lady about that right, And the big
thing is that he wants to see the dang eagle
and now it's in jeopardy because of you.
Speaker 3 (01:53:37):
Yes, you're in the wrong seat.
Speaker 6 (01:53:38):
I'm worried that we're going to miss the eagle while
we're in the bathroom.
Speaker 3 (01:53:41):
Your food's getting cold.
Speaker 6 (01:53:43):
I'm worried we're going to miss the eagle while we're
getting food. I'm worried now that we're going to miss
the eagle because I have to go to two sections
over because I'm an idiot.
Speaker 3 (01:53:52):
I mean, y'all, I've been going back and forth. I
feel just so stupid. I just feel so so hoo.
Speaker 9 (01:54:00):
Many people were within earshot and heard the conversation, and
then you had to walk in front of him.
Speaker 6 (01:54:05):
And well, I have a don't miss I have a
small clear backpack on that has like toys and diapers
in it. I look like a child. I'm holding a child.
I'm holding a big old thing of food that won't close.
The lid won't close. It was free food number one
and number two. I didn't want to have to go
back again. So I'm like cookies, hot dogs, ships crammed
(01:54:27):
in and I'm like trying to carry all this stuff
and it's not easy for us to get in out,
So the entire section is always aware when we're coming
in and out here come the kid. We've done four
times already, and then to find out that we're in
the wrong section.
Speaker 5 (01:54:41):
Yeah, hey, John, that the listener came and clutch with
these tickets, I mean clutch. Yeah, you think about how
much you know, how I am concessions saved you alone
all that. Yes, that was very kind of him. So
so you're trying to make it to the new section
and not miss the eagle.
Speaker 6 (01:55:00):
Yes, we want to see this eagle fly because it's
a wonderful and sweet and precious moment for our children
to see.
Speaker 9 (01:55:08):
You.
Speaker 3 (01:55:08):
You didn't say that a lot, you know, So I'm like,
I'm embarrassed. I am, I am. It's just stupid.
Speaker 6 (01:55:14):
I look like an idiot, took my kids to the
wrong spot multiple times over and over again, bothered the
whole section. I'm like, all right, back up we go carrying,
and I'm sweating, so much. I cannot stress y'all, how sweating,
how sweaty I am. We finally get to the correct section,
the correct area within, guys within and oh, by the way,
(01:55:36):
in pregame, when did they start blaring rap music so
loud but you can't even hear the pregame is just like.
Speaker 3 (01:55:45):
All of this mania and going.
Speaker 6 (01:55:47):
I'm trying to get this figured out while rap music
is just blaring.
Speaker 3 (01:55:51):
That's coming from a guy who was on staff.
Speaker 6 (01:55:53):
If you want to know it now, I'm a thousand
years old right now, I.
Speaker 3 (01:55:58):
Agree with you that there they've been doing. It has
a game to the point that he gets on your
nurves and mix it up a little bit. Can we
get some classic rock in there? Maybe too?
Speaker 6 (01:56:05):
I mean, it's just classic rock.
Speaker 3 (01:56:06):
It's just very Hotel California.
Speaker 6 (01:56:10):
It's it's alarming, and I've got headphones on my kid
because he was freaking out, and it's just I'm a
thousand I understand, I understand it is irritating. We get
to we get to the correct section, We get to
the correct.
Speaker 3 (01:56:25):
Have been sitting in him and you had to tell
him to get up. You think he was coming. You're
sitting down there.
Speaker 6 (01:56:31):
We sit down, and all the eagle flies like two
minutes later, thank goodness.
Speaker 3 (01:56:36):
But look, kids, look in the air.
Speaker 6 (01:56:38):
The eagle is flying directly in front of us. The
eagle is flying directly in front of us, and we're
going whoa. And Ezra doesn't understand because the whole crowd
goes and the whole crowd is going, and he's like,
he thinks something's going on, like what is happening? It's
a ramping up kind of anxiety thing. Ruby, I'm like, look,
(01:57:00):
look there's the eagle. Ruby's looking up at the clouds.
She's looking up at the clouds and I'm like, baby,
it's it's right in front of you. It's in front
of you.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
But she's looking up.
Speaker 6 (01:57:09):
We're an eagle normally would be that's that's I mean, she's.
Speaker 3 (01:57:13):
Looking in the right spot. She's thinking, okay, it'll be
up in the clouds, you know. So she we we
saw it.
Speaker 6 (01:57:20):
We luckily another loop. It did another loop, not nearly
as much as I need care.
Speaker 3 (01:57:27):
Yes, they cared a tiny They started crying. It's great.
Speaker 6 (01:57:36):
Rubby asked, why do we say war eagle? I had
no real explanation for it.
Speaker 3 (01:57:39):
It's hard, it's confusing to an adult. Really it really is.
Speaker 6 (01:57:44):
Yeah, the lord behind it doesn't even lord doesn't even
make sense.
Speaker 3 (01:57:48):
I thought we were the tigers. Yeah we are, but
we also have an eagle, so it's like saying, go tigers,
war eagle, Go tigers. That's what I tried to just
simplify it. How about that wingspan. I think they they
just glides down. When the person is it is cool.
Speaker 6 (01:58:03):
I think it's amazing. And when the person is holding it,
that's when you see how big the eagle really is,
because it's as big as their torso, it's as big
as their upper body. It is a huge am It's
very cool. And then we seeing God Bless America, which
was really nice. Did you know that the band cut
came out? The band came out, did God Bless America?
Sounded great? And then the national anthem that was great.
(01:58:26):
And then we got a flyover with two like old
school bomber planes, huge huge, So that was great. Ezra
almost missed that. He's big on airplanes, but he almost
missed that. I'm like, buddy, if you don't look up
and see this airplane flying over, I'm gonna be real
mad at you. Yeah, and so that was fantastic. A
little late on the flyover Home of the Free and
(01:58:47):
the Home of the brave.
Speaker 3 (01:58:52):
Time it is. It's tough to time now, did you
how many times did you ask the kids? Aren't we
having fun?
Speaker 6 (01:58:58):
Awesome?
Speaker 3 (01:58:59):
Who's having fun? Except for the seat thing?
Speaker 6 (01:59:01):
So that was great?
Speaker 3 (01:59:04):
How you doing down there? Honey? You okay? Are we
having a good time?
Speaker 6 (01:59:07):
God bless America?
Speaker 2 (01:59:08):
That was I was.
Speaker 6 (01:59:09):
I was like, man, I feel I feel atriotic right now,
got my.
Speaker 16 (01:59:13):
Seat, I finally got I know, all the latest rap
music turned down for what I was not being not patriotic.
Speaker 6 (01:59:20):
When I was giving to my kid water, he was
going to scream, I want water throughout the whole national anthem.
So I was giving him water because he wanted it
right then. And I pretty much just children the entire time.
The entire time I was there, I was pretty much
just serving children. The first play of the game was
a touchdown. I don't know if y'all saw that Auburn's
(01:59:41):
first play of the game was a touchdown. That was huge.
Speaker 5 (01:59:44):
Hey, that rookie, that freshman quarterback with something else. Now,
at one point it was not good, wasn't it.
Speaker 6 (01:59:49):
I mean, early well, they were beating us at one
point too.
Speaker 3 (01:59:52):
That was odd. That was okay, mercer.
Speaker 6 (01:59:55):
If we lived a mercer, that's gonna be unfortunate. And
then so we're in those lower sets and seats and
we're like, you know what, this is good, but let's
go up high for the halftime. We want to we
want to see the.
Speaker 3 (02:00:08):
Every section to any after what happened.
Speaker 6 (02:00:11):
For We're figured, you know what, we can cut down
our ruining of time for people in half if we
split our time between the sections. So we decided to
go up uh and on the ramp. That's that's the
most fun that the kids had on them, just walking
on the ramp.
Speaker 3 (02:00:25):
And I have a story.
Speaker 1 (02:00:26):
Okay, the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (02:00:48):
It is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (02:00:50):
Thank you so much for tuning in as always, will
you make uh every effort to give you all we
got each and every day, and we thank you so
much for being with us. Forget if you miss any
part of the show, it's there for you. The archives
are available shortly after the live show. Aber gets those
going as quickly as possible, as quickly as he can
(02:01:12):
capture it, download it.
Speaker 3 (02:01:13):
It's up there.
Speaker 5 (02:01:14):
And I also don't forget the video option as well
with YouTube. Make sure that you subscribe and like whatever
you follow us on. And we thank you so much
for believing in the show and making us part of
your day. And I know part of that means that
you know we're family. I mean you really, we live
our personal lives out on the air every single day.
Believe me, My wife and kids have told me that
(02:01:35):
about every week. Wow, So you told that, huh. So
I understand that there's questions about where, Hey, where's Rick,
what's going on? And just understand that your thoughts and
prayers for his immediate family are heard and felt, and
we thank you for that. Understandably, he is where he
needs to be and there's questions. I know Lord will
and he'll be back as soon as he can and
(02:01:56):
we'll talk about that as much as possible. So so
just understand that the best thing you can do is pray.
And we appreciate your patience and understanding that. You know,
it's just tough to say, hey, he needs a little
bit of privacy when you live your life on the air,
But that's just the case, and so it's not our
story to tell anyway. We're just trying to be great.
(02:02:19):
You know staff members and keep things afloat while we can,
and so he'll be back as soon as possible. Don't
forget we hit this at the end of the week.
Last week, the Best of CD became available at rick
burgesshow dot com. Just click on shop it's there at
the store. If you would like a direct link just

great job, so that'd be a great stocking stuff. Or
if you want that hard copy of CD, the streaming

That process takes a little bit longer, but it has
already started, so hopefully we'll be able to announce that
(02:03:06):
as soon as we can.
Speaker 3 (02:03:08):
And don't forget this for Christmas is cold hard cash.
Speaker 5 (02:03:12):
We're giving cold hard cash away in the Christmas Cash countdown,
and the countdown to Christmas is quickly approaching with it
being Thanksgiving week, and we'll be starting that pretty soon,
all right, So that's kind of setting the table for everything.
When we left you last hour, Adler's been recapping his
fun family weekend down in the planes when he went
(02:03:33):
to the Auburn Mercer game, took his kids for the
first time. He's experiencing going from section to section seeing
if he can sit in about every one. And you
left us saying that y'all were moving up to the
upper deck.
Speaker 6 (02:03:44):
Yes, and these are the tickets that I initially and
they were aisle and front row, so that was up
of the upper the upper deck.
Speaker 3 (02:03:54):
Do you think the seats you left those people were glad?
Speaker 6 (02:03:57):
Yes, everyone was glad. We bumping people with a diaper
bag backpack. I mean, kids are spilling drinks. Oh, by
the way, there was if there's a puddle on the
ground and.
Speaker 3 (02:04:07):
You put your little shaker, If you put your shaker
in that puddle and then you shake it around, everybody's gonna.
Speaker 6 (02:04:12):
Get little flecks of dirty water on them, which everybody
loves having that.
Speaker 9 (02:04:19):
When you were leaving the tickets in there, that old
lady yelled and stay out.
Speaker 6 (02:04:23):
Oh she was so glad to see us go hey again.
She was very nice and I was nice back. It
was it was just uncomfortable because I was in the
wrong spot.
Speaker 3 (02:04:32):
Memorized, kids.
Speaker 9 (02:04:34):
I've never I've always had to make sure you never
to memorize the digital copy of hard copy.
Speaker 3 (02:04:39):
I don't memorize tickets. But go ahead.
Speaker 6 (02:04:42):
I walked.
Speaker 3 (02:04:44):
Hundred feet, I walked a hundred in, I got in,
scanned the ticket, got in, I was like, okay, that's
where we're going.
Speaker 6 (02:04:51):
All right, that's where we're going. And then just in
that time, I went from one section to the wrong section,
and so now we're going up to our original tickets
that are up in the upper deck front row. And
it was, guys, it was honestly, I was like, we
should have been here the whole time because there was
a lot more rooms.
Speaker 3 (02:05:07):
And except for the free food, yeah, yeah, that was nice.
Speaker 6 (02:05:11):
When we got to the ramp, the little spiraling ramps.
Speaker 3 (02:05:15):
Yeah we had room, and the kids were like yay, hooray,
and they we ended up hanging out on the ramps
for a good.
Speaker 6 (02:05:21):
Run a blood portion of the time. And in fact,
we went to our our real seats in the lower section.
We were in our wrong seats longer than we were
in the right seats, and that section just you know,
give you an idea, just basically for the Eagle and
God bless America. So we get on the ramps, it's open,
and wow, my stress level went down from playing.
Speaker 9 (02:05:43):
No.
Speaker 6 (02:05:44):
Everybody was good. It was good. I will say we
wanted we wanted to stay for for halftime, just to
see the band and the flag girls. My daughters loves cheerleaders,
she loves dancing, she loves cheers, she does all that,
so she she We definitely wanted to do that several times.
And I'm a thousand years old. I know I'm a
thousand years old. I haven't been I haven't been to
(02:06:04):
the games in a while.
Speaker 3 (02:06:06):
It's been a little while.
Speaker 6 (02:06:07):
When did they start like interrupting the marching band with
rap music?
Speaker 3 (02:06:13):
I haven't seen that, y'all.
Speaker 6 (02:06:14):
Several times the band was like doing a nice little diddy,
like that's great during their show during the game, not
during the halftime show, but during the game.
Speaker 3 (02:06:29):
This is nice.
Speaker 6 (02:06:30):
But several times over the sound s and I just
watched the conductor have to be like, all right, guys
with it where that's where I.
Speaker 3 (02:06:38):
Try to work together.
Speaker 6 (02:06:40):
But they got cut off several times. It was like, oh,
this is a nice little and then.
Speaker 3 (02:06:45):
Everybody get your freaking. I'm like, what is happening? Everybody?
Get your freak?
Speaker 6 (02:06:51):
What does that even mean? Like? What is I'm a
thousand I'm scared loud noises are scared. Yes, yes, I
know I'm a thousand years old.
Speaker 3 (02:07:00):
But that was new to me.
Speaker 6 (02:07:01):
Also new alcohol had. I haven't been to a game since.
Alcohol has been kind of pounded.
Speaker 3 (02:07:07):
A bazillion because I was so stressed, Greg, pass that down.
I got two kids. I'll take two of those for
each of the kids. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:07:18):
We get up to the upper section and we're watching.
It's great.
Speaker 3 (02:07:22):
Here is a little bit of a halftime action here,
and Ruby loved it, y'all. It was just, oh, yeah,
well you are up there.
Speaker 6 (02:07:33):
She danced with her little thing the whole time, y'all.
So done, y'all, he is so done. I cannot stress
how done that little boy was. By the time we
got to halftime. I'm like, oh, just you're almost there, buddy,
you are almost there. Ruby danced with her little pomp
(02:07:54):
pump streamer thing the sweater the entire time.
Speaker 3 (02:07:57):
It was so sweet.
Speaker 6 (02:07:59):
But y'all, I want to show you something. I'm gonna
wrap this up, this little this, this little wall right here,
that you can see here.
Speaker 3 (02:08:09):
See this little wall right here. It is it's a
concrete wall below the rail and it is what two
or three inches wide?
Speaker 6 (02:08:17):
Right, yeah, all right. So I'm sitting there in the game,
and in front of us, in front of the whole section,
a dollar bill floats up from below, floats up, just
bell floats up from below in the air.
Speaker 3 (02:08:35):
Huh. And that's a long way from Yes.
Speaker 6 (02:08:39):
Just a single dollar bill, and it is kind of crinkled,
kind of folded, but a single dollar bill is floating
in the air in front of the.
Speaker 5 (02:08:47):
Second and there's not for those of you can't say
they're at the front row of the upper deck, there
is nothing in front of them except air.
Speaker 6 (02:08:54):
Yes, And so that was that's weird. The whole section secret,
the whole section sees it. It's out in front of us, and.
Speaker 3 (02:09:03):
People are like, oh, look that the whole section.
Speaker 6 (02:09:05):
There's you know, twenty thirty people now watching this dollar
bill float in front of us. And I have Ezra
on my lap at this point, so I'm just seated.
The dollar bill starts coming towards our section and the
people to my left, there's a couple dudes on the
front road to the left and they start reaching for it,
and it is like dancing barely out of their reach.
(02:09:28):
They can't get it. And I'm just sitting here watching it,
and y'all, that dollar bill flitters and flutters while the
whole section watches it, and I'm not joking you stops
and lands directly. It landed on that concrete right in
front of me. The dollar bill just stops and lands
(02:09:49):
there in front of me. And so I'm holding Ezra
and I just reach out grab the dollar bill and
hold it up, and the whole section goes, yeah, what
in the world. Yeah, I watched it just flutter flutter
person that lost flood flutter flutter, flutter, flutter, flutter.
Speaker 3 (02:10:04):
Land And there it is right. It came from below.
Speaker 6 (02:10:06):
It came from below, fluttered in the air, landed on
the eight It's only as bout as wide as a
dollar bill, and it just landed right there.
Speaker 3 (02:10:15):
Kind of wind we have, I mean, it really wasn't
even that windy. It was the craziest ever. I'm like,
what is happening? Dollar from heaven? Am I the matrix?
Did I do that with my mind? I've just picked
it up. I held it up in the air while
I'm holding Azra. The whole the whole section is like whoa.
Speaker 6 (02:10:32):
And then I had the hero and then I handed
the dollar bill to Ruby because I'm just such a
good dad.
Speaker 3 (02:10:37):
Everybody was like that also deserved that dollar. And here
long he's been in every where it came from.
Speaker 6 (02:10:44):
That's the weirdest thing.
Speaker 3 (02:10:45):
Whatever. Obviously the draft or something just kind of pushed
it up. Somebody just holding in their hand. I guess so.
But if you lost your dollar, I got it. It
floated up. Maybe it's that lady you were intersect.
Speaker 6 (02:10:57):
Yeah, maybe it was that late so I'd already take
enough from her, so hopefully not well.
Speaker 3 (02:11:02):
We we rode home. Everra slept the entire way home.
Speaker 6 (02:11:05):
We get home and Ruby is holding her little pomp
pom and she's dancing to God bless America and in
her little thing.
Speaker 3 (02:11:13):
I'm like, oh, this is all worth it.
Speaker 6 (02:11:14):
I love America and Auburn, I love my family.
Speaker 1 (02:11:18):
Is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (02:11:39):
It's the Rick Burgis Show. Thank you so much for
being with us. Rick not with us today, Lord willing
coming back soon. I am speedy, Greg Burgess, Chris Ady
van Adler, We're here running things.
Speaker 3 (02:11:50):
We thank you so much for being with us. If
you've missed any part of the show, which Adler going
to the Auburn game was was was priceless. Hyah.
Speaker 5 (02:11:59):
If you missing you that the archives will be available
shortly after the main show.
Speaker 3 (02:12:03):
Go check all that out.
Speaker 5 (02:12:06):
I wish they'd have got mad, but it sounds like
you didn't know. But it sounds like to me, the
most entertaining thing about the game. By the way, we're
doing unscreen phone calls. Go ahead and call eight eight
eight six two four forty eight sixty nine eight eight
eight six big vox holler right now.
Speaker 3 (02:12:19):
We're going to attempt to do it. But it seems
like the most.
Speaker 5 (02:12:21):
Entertainment part of the game is is is the dollar
The phantom is the ramps going up they got to play,
and then the floating dollar bill.
Speaker 3 (02:12:31):
Yeah, those are the two things.
Speaker 6 (02:12:32):
Yeah, there's ruby with the dollar bill.
Speaker 9 (02:12:34):
And you thought that look at that, it's pretty good.
You thought that the eagle flying was impressive. How about
a dollar bill that just comes out of nowhere.
Speaker 3 (02:12:41):
It was so weird.
Speaker 6 (02:12:42):
It just floated in front of the whole section. Well,
everybody's like, well, there's a dollar bill right there.
Speaker 3 (02:12:46):
It had if someone had to have been sitting there
and took it out and they and it just that's
just weird. Just I guess from underneath there's just the wind.
I guess. Yeah, yeah it was. It was really sweet.
Speaker 6 (02:12:58):
Like I said, we got home, Ezra slept the whole way.
Ruby slept for twelve hours. She never does that. She
slept for twelve hours the following night. But man herd
with her little auburn thing at home going.
Speaker 3 (02:13:09):
Uh, God bless a vera the home, sweet home, God bless.
Speaker 6 (02:13:15):
She was just stuck on a loop when we got home,
so that was very cool.
Speaker 3 (02:13:19):
She didn't pick up some of the rap music. Yeah,
that's true. Ring to the yes, uh as I said.
Speaker 5 (02:13:30):
Eight eight eight sixty four forty eight sixty nine, unscreen
phone calls, y'all play nice. Greg's already impressed, you know, yeah, anymore,
y'all have to right. That's why I jump out to
the phones here eighty eight six big box, unscreen phone calls,
go ahead, you're live.
Speaker 8 (02:13:44):
Yeah, hey, I got a request for y'all.
Speaker 11 (02:13:46):
Y'all gotta do it. Seeing how Rick's not gonna do it,
we need to gobble, gobble.
Speaker 5 (02:13:49):
So please, I hear you and I understand that, and
that's why I said earlier, it's normally one of the two.
It's I love it, Please bring it back to I
hate it. And there were certain things that were just
so Rick and Bubba that it just stays in that memory,
you know, and and we want to made it a
good decision that that's just one of them. And so
(02:14:12):
we appreciate y'all so much for understanding that though, and
for those of you that loved it, it's it's gonna
be all right. Uh So eight eight eight six big
vox unch screen phone calls. There's some lines open now.
If you want to holler at us, go ahead, you're live.
Speaker 11 (02:14:26):
Hey, guys, I just want to let Rick know we're
praying for him.
Speaker 10 (02:14:28):
Thank you.
Speaker 11 (02:14:29):
Without him, the show is really duty.
Speaker 3 (02:14:33):
And so true. That's good. Here we go, jumping back
out your live unscreen phone calls.
Speaker 11 (02:14:39):
Go ahead, thanks me, I got something you can gobble.
Speaker 3 (02:14:43):
Okay, Well all right, well it didn't take long. Good
it didn't see what you do? All right, let's jump
back out. It doesn't like you. No, I guess I
stole his girlfriend in college. There it is.
Speaker 5 (02:14:57):
They never forget eight eight eight six two four forty
eight sixty nine.
Speaker 3 (02:15:01):
What's up? On screen?
Speaker 11 (02:15:02):
Phone calls go ahead, Hey, good morning fellas, Hey what up?
Speaker 3 (02:15:08):
I forgot I was live. I thought I was in
the break.
Speaker 11 (02:15:10):
Room with you, Greg, I was at the game. I
was at the game too, and Alan must have been
in season sixty one because that dollar bill was like
five rows in front of us. And uh, I'm not
a big internet guy, so I had no idea what
alert looked like. So I was kind of taken back
by what he looked like when he held the dollar
bill up. But I wish I could have shook his
(02:15:31):
hand so.
Speaker 3 (02:15:32):
You didn't see it.
Speaker 14 (02:15:32):
You saw it.
Speaker 3 (02:15:33):
That's cool.
Speaker 11 (02:15:35):
But another thing too, Aler, could you understand a word
the dude cheerleader was saying trying to do all the
cheers because he sounded like to me, it sounded like
he's been smoking like a pack of marble red every day.
Speaker 3 (02:15:49):
Oh while he almost did it in like a weird
like military way, Like.
Speaker 9 (02:15:56):
Anytime you're at something like that, do you participate?
Speaker 3 (02:16:00):
Fate? Do you actually away when they start all that?
I just it's a tough job. I bet he has
no voice after the game to get his voice back.
Speaker 6 (02:16:12):
You're right, he was he was struggling.
Speaker 3 (02:16:14):
Uh, let's jump back out more unscreen phone calls, go ahead,
you're live, Thanks for calling.
Speaker 13 (02:16:19):
Bone Ash, Okay, say this one guy is going to run.
Speaker 3 (02:16:25):
I don't know if it's one guy or not. Now
I think the audience is trying to have fun. That's
just Uh can I tell you, I really think it's fun.
It got something about the tone. Well, when I heard
the tone, I was like, I probably need to let
that go then, and then he just I just kept
(02:16:46):
it on. Uh, hey, Rick Burgess show, you're live. Go ahead.
Speaker 11 (02:16:50):
Look, my kids were acting up over the weekend in
the back seat while we were taking a little trip,
and I used.
Speaker 3 (02:16:56):
The gobble Gobbles one.
Speaker 5 (02:16:59):
Weapon.
Speaker 11 (02:17:01):
Listen to it one time, and uh then if they
wanted to keep acting up with would listen to it again.
Speaker 13 (02:17:08):
They both screamed up.
Speaker 3 (02:17:10):
They were so well behaved. It's not bad. I had
thought about that. That is, that's a good idea. Use
it to punish your you know, people acting up. Yeah, sure,
what about that guy keeps calling you around?
Speaker 5 (02:17:22):
Let's go back out on screen phone calls eight eight
eighty six Big Vox.
Speaker 3 (02:17:26):
See they're doing it for your reaction. Look how hard
you're laughing. Let's let's jump out. What's up your life?
Speaker 10 (02:17:33):
Oh yeah, this is David Reeves. I'm originally from Oxford,
Alabama and live in West Texas. I didn't I never
realized that Adler was a Auburn did he? I'm assuming
he went to Alburn?
Speaker 3 (02:17:44):
Oh you kid me.
Speaker 5 (02:17:45):
He owned the campus radio State ran the station there.
There's a statue of him. That's a tiny one, but
a staff shirt Saturday.
Speaker 10 (02:17:52):
Uh and Greg, my father sold your day at his house.
Speaker 2 (02:17:56):
I live in.
Speaker 10 (02:17:56):
I grew up in Chehaw Acres houses from you and
Rick all. Been listening you guys for thirty years. That's
too cool, But I'm not there, so living with Texas.
But have a happy Thanksgiving guys, and I'll talk to
you'all later. Have a good day.
Speaker 3 (02:18:09):
I appreciate it. That's cool, Reeves. I don't know. I
don't know. I didn't catch it. You know who that's
some of keates? Is Kim Volk? Oh? Really? Yep? Nice?
I think if if it's who I'm thinking about, probably
wrong guy. But that's fine, a little step out on
your part.
Speaker 10 (02:18:23):
But no, he was.
Speaker 3 (02:18:24):
He was a little older than me. We didn't go
to school together, but Okay, I grew up six houses
down from you. Let's maybe have time for one more.
What's up on screen? Phone calls?
Speaker 8 (02:18:33):
Go ahead, Hey guys, Bruce Nashville, have a request. This
whole Christmas gift that you guys are making for each other. Yeah,
I think it has to be documented with video evidence.
Speaker 3 (02:18:44):
Okay, oh no, don't do that. Don't do that.
Speaker 8 (02:18:47):
Hold on, Hold on number one, the obvious reason.
Speaker 10 (02:18:50):
Okay, we can see it. Number two to watch Greg.
Speaker 8 (02:18:53):
Trying to set up a video to video himself making
something that's worked the whole day.
Speaker 5 (02:18:57):
Yeah, yeah, okay, I thought I cheatedn't get somebody to
make He's saying, there's comedy just in document.
Speaker 3 (02:19:03):
I get, Yes, you clearly get lately, but I was
saying about cheatings and that, but don't cheat, Greg. We're
not trying to get through colle Wanta go go buy
something over. You're right back.
Speaker 1 (02:19:16):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (02:19:35):
Thank you all so much for tuning in to the
Rick Burgess Show. Rick not with us right now, taking
care of those responsibilities with his immediate family.
Speaker 3 (02:19:43):
He's keeping him away from the show Lord will and
he'll be back soon.
Speaker 5 (02:19:46):
So right now, it's be teamed Uh and Dirty Calvin
into Boys or Gloomy Gregg and the Golf Rats, which
I think is Adler's favorite. Don't forget The new CD

Speaker 3 (02:20:28):
It's happening.
Speaker 5 (02:20:29):
We are going to have what Thanksgiving and maybe a
week or so and then boom, we're giving away cash.
Speaker 3 (02:20:35):
It's Christmas, man. I mean, we're there now, we're there.
I mean we really are.
Speaker 5 (02:20:39):
Oh, we're there now, we were there what it is
and we are honored to have signed a long term
contract with the company that we're with now and so
we're excited about next year. Already booking seats for next year,
and so we'll look up and it'll be next summer
before you know it, you know flies. So where are
(02:21:01):
y'all on you? Did you say you haven't started any Christmas?
Speaker 3 (02:21:04):
Take?
Speaker 9 (02:21:04):
No, I have not, but I will be, and we
cranking up. I wouldn't be surprised you don't crank up
this week?
Speaker 3 (02:21:10):
Y'all? Still do you still put up the real, real
big one that it is this year where.
Speaker 9 (02:21:14):
We're going to see, because at least it had re
arranged that room in order to get that big tree?
And are you going to take some of it out?
Speaker 3 (02:21:20):
No, we can't do that.
Speaker 9 (02:21:21):
No, you can't do that, But that means, well, I
got an idea. We'll get two more trees that are
just a little bit thinner.
Speaker 3 (02:21:27):
Oh, the skinny tree.
Speaker 9 (02:21:28):
Yeah, but that would be easier than the big one. Yeah,
to be honest, well, the big ones it looks great.
Speaker 3 (02:21:36):
It's not. It's a twelve footer, but it's also a
lot of them are thin. But this is full.
Speaker 9 (02:21:40):
I mean, it's a big tree and it looks great
when you get it out. But I'm telling you it's
a good two day.
Speaker 3 (02:21:46):
You get it right, right?
Speaker 5 (02:21:47):
Well, you have a step ladder and you can only
do one side. Then you got to throw the throw
it around to the other side and get.
Speaker 3 (02:21:54):
Off the ladder. Go around.
Speaker 9 (02:21:55):
Yeah, now that the light's quit working. Yeah, up up
and down, up and down, and at least it puts this.
Speaker 3 (02:22:01):
Thing on the top that's huge. And you got it
ain't straight. It ain't straight, and I think it's straight.
That ain't straight, you know. Yeah, but wow, Merry Christmas.
How about you at I've got the outside lights up.
We talked about that last week.
Speaker 6 (02:22:18):
Got the big yes my annual uh testing in my
life insurance policy. I got the I got the tree up,
I got a Christmas village.
Speaker 3 (02:22:28):
I mean it's it is is the season, brothers, it's
all we are full bore, ready to roll. Okay, it's
the beginning. We have a we have Christmas tree up, mantling.
Speaker 5 (02:22:40):
All that's done and then uh, she on the garland
she kind of gets out sometimes out of whack and
the remote won't work and you're trying to you know,
you have to go up there and pull a branch
down or something.
Speaker 3 (02:22:51):
But then the staircase, she got it done. While I
was hunting, she took me a picture of that. I
was like, nice, So we do ours to the staircase.
Speaker 9 (02:22:58):
Yes, And I always I can't remember how many you know,
you got the little spindles, how many I should leave
between so it'll come out right, Because then I get
up there and it's either too long or too short,
and then I go, well, I got to back them.
I never can remember exactly how to do it. And
then if you have to replace some of the garland,
you can't never find the exact link.
Speaker 3 (02:23:17):
So you got to deal with that. But that garland,
it looks good, but it's a pain.
Speaker 9 (02:23:21):
And then you get them all plug together and they
come on, and then you come back through and part
of thems not on, and you go up there and
start hitting on it and it'll come on. Yeah, okay, Yeah,
the garland on the staircase is a nightmare, right.
Speaker 3 (02:23:33):
It is not fun?
Speaker 6 (02:23:34):
And why is it so sharp? Why are Christmas trees
sharper than actual pine trees? I was clearing actual pine
trees this weekend, no problem. I have to wrap my
arms around the fake Christmas tree that we have. It
feels like knives are stabbing me in the face. Yeah,
why are they so sharp?
Speaker 3 (02:23:50):
I don't I know you wear those gloves that come
up to your yeah elbow.
Speaker 9 (02:23:54):
We have and I've talked about it before, and it's
these became part of the family about two years ago.
Speaker 3 (02:24:00):
We got the Big Tree at least it refers to
that as Big Girl.
Speaker 9 (02:24:03):
And then we have the two what I call the
flock brother the flock brother because it's got that snow
flocked on it.
Speaker 3 (02:24:11):
You left up till mark. Yeah.
Speaker 9 (02:24:12):
Yeah, those are miserable because all that dust goes up
your nose the entire time.
Speaker 3 (02:24:17):
That's good for you to breathe. The flock brothers are
not worth it. I like bitch to say big Mama,
Big Girl, Big Girl, Sorry, Big Girl, and the flock Brothers,
Oh yeah that listen. The flocks are just a mess.
Speaker 6 (02:24:28):
That's we could change that to the name of the
name of this show, Big Girl in the flock Brother.
Speaker 2 (02:24:33):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (02:24:34):
You can complain like this out loud while you're putting
them up about the flocks.
Speaker 10 (02:24:38):
I do you do.
Speaker 9 (02:24:39):
I know, at least it's tired of hearing about it.
But I even tried the first year I had them.
They have so much stuff flying off of them. I
took them outside to try to get them right and
then bring them back in. Yeah, is there miserable. We
have the little do not get the ones with We
don't call it fakes, no, but flop, yeah, flocking and
be careful saying that, yeah, you got to be really
you can just be reckless.
Speaker 3 (02:24:58):
We have some two of the little pencil trees or whatever,
the skin ones.
Speaker 14 (02:25:02):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:25:02):
It's like, oh, put it off in the corner of
this room or whatever.
Speaker 5 (02:25:05):
But like I said, we left everything up and the
balancing act trying to get it up up the pull
downstairs into Oh but man, when when you got them
back down and they're already up.
Speaker 3 (02:25:17):
That's how I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (02:25:17):
It's the title of getting all the branches all except that.
But we talked about this during the Rick and Bubby
years too, though. But one of my fondest memories is
a kid was going to pick out the live tree,
you know, and you go and you walk through and
you pick it out. And then when the kids were younger, uh,
you know, went to get all their allergies checked because
(02:25:38):
they were all eat up with everything. It was football
season and all that, and they're off in the grass
and they came back that they were allergic to you
know the trees and the grass and all that.
Speaker 3 (02:25:47):
Yeah, they've out wrown it, but that they were all
stopped up for Christmas year and that's when we went
artificial and we've just stayed there. But I remember going
and going, were going to get the Christmas tree, and
I just remember walking through all those trees and trying
to pick one out.
Speaker 10 (02:26:01):
That was just fun.
Speaker 3 (02:26:02):
And then you get it home. I'm a kid when
I'm doing this, So I was probably miserable for my parents. Yeah,
and I can remember.
Speaker 9 (02:26:08):
I mean, nothing bad, but it was funny because I
was talking about how, you know, Lisa thinks the trees
struck crooking and I think it's straight.
Speaker 3 (02:26:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (02:26:13):
My mom and dad and they never argued, but they
always argued about the new tree on whether it was
straight or not. I'm sorry that ain't straight.
Speaker 3 (02:26:19):
Yeah it is, No, it's not. That's not it looks ridiculous. No,
it was a Christmas tradition. It was a Christmas tree.
We'd sit there here, they go up every year we
declare because this tree that we have is so old
and so it's just a handle. Every year we declared
declare it. Next year we're getting a new tree and
(02:26:39):
then what do we do. We pull it out of
the attic. We have one the same way, the red
bird tree. Yeah, the one that gets all the red
bird stuff on it.
Speaker 10 (02:26:47):
Uh huh.
Speaker 9 (02:26:47):
It's it's a really nice tree, but the top has
gotten some walled out that it won't stay straight.
Speaker 3 (02:26:53):
That's it.
Speaker 9 (02:26:53):
And she'll straightening it up and it keeps doing this
and every year that's it. We're getting another one. Yeah,
the top, that part of it's really probably the best
looking tree we got.
Speaker 5 (02:27:02):
What you're saying is what we have. That top piece
is a little loose, yes, yes, yeah, yeah. If you're
having to dictate that piece, you probably need.
Speaker 3 (02:27:09):
And I have driven nails in it, every everything, everything.
Speaker 5 (02:27:14):
But we did not get a new one. And then
I was like, hey, let's just go get one. Let's
let's let's be done with it. And she she started
looking around and she's like, well, no, let's just keep
the same one. Then we put it up and we're like,
why didn't we get the tree?
Speaker 3 (02:27:26):
You know next year it's leaning.
Speaker 9 (02:27:28):
Yeah, but but then again, I don't like picking trees
out by looking at pictures, yeah, because they never looked
like they Let's go to hobby lobby trying to take it.
Speaker 3 (02:27:38):
Sounds like a real time but.
Speaker 5 (02:27:42):
Looking at twelve and then you go get lights like
I did. I mentioned this last week or two. Uh,
and then they all work when you you plug them up.
Then you put them on and there's a short in
it and the middle sections dark dark hey, dark as night.
Speaker 3 (02:27:55):
Throw it through it.
Speaker 5 (02:27:56):
So now you're unraveling having to take it out and
take it back. And then the lady that receives the
exchange because I had just onet a new box whatever
you Oh.
Speaker 3 (02:28:04):
Yeah, hate when that happens. Yeah, so do too, so
do we? So do we?
Speaker 5 (02:28:10):
I know y'all can't. Y'all didn't package these, you can't,
I mean, but and you are exchanging them. But buddy,
yeah it's a handle.
Speaker 9 (02:28:15):
In that case, I can live when I'm trying to
reuse them and they don't work. Yeah, when I'm taking
it out of the box, I'm kind of thinking it
should work. Maybe I'm just expecting too much, and.
Speaker 5 (02:28:26):
Then it would fake work, you like like you found
one that was loose from like, okay, there it is,
whoa we did it?
Speaker 3 (02:28:32):
And you turn around they're dark again. Yeah. How do
you leave the room and come back and doing yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:28:38):
Well I had to supplement with more lights on the
outside of ours this year as well, because the middle
section went dark, because that's what it.
Speaker 3 (02:28:44):
Does after year three. Yes, oh, year three.
Speaker 11 (02:28:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:28:47):
Yeah, So I'm supplementing. I'm wrapping around, wrapping around, wrapping,
I'm on a ladder, all this stuff, get down, go
to plug it in, and they're twinkling, twinkling, And so
I've been trying to conflate my wife this whole time.
Speaker 3 (02:29:01):
Twinkling's nice, isn't it. Then don't you take to pull
above out to make him not twinkle?
Speaker 8 (02:29:06):
Is that?
Speaker 3 (02:29:06):
Okay? I'll look into it. Yet Now I liked twinkling.
Neither does my wife, especially when it's partial. Yeah, one
little section of twinkling.
Speaker 6 (02:29:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:29:20):
We came in the other day Cuddy. Cuddy had grabbed
grabbed something off the tree and thought it was a toy.
Speaker 3 (02:29:27):
Oh hey, he's a big wipe the tree out. That's
when I just backed up, like I had to do
something in the garage. Yeah, And I was like, cudd,
you're on your own here. Ezra did the same thing yesterday.

This is bizarre.
Speaker 5 (02:32:47):
You would think riding down the road you wouldn't experience
anything like this. But take a listen to what this
nine to one one dispatcher had to hear. Take a listen.
Speaker 3 (02:32:55):
I thank County nine to one one.
Speaker 13 (02:32:56):
Okay, you may not believe me, but I just kind
of bother the eagle drop a cat from my windshield.
It absolutely shattered my windshield.
Speaker 7 (02:33:03):
I do believe you, honestly, Oh my goodness, I've heard crazier.
Speaker 11 (02:33:10):
Well that's right.
Speaker 7 (02:33:12):
Yeah, question is the cat still alive?
Speaker 11 (02:33:17):
No it is not, but it's on the side of
the road.
Speaker 3 (02:33:21):
Okay, I have to ask just to make sure. Well
a lot of laugh ending there. Let me ask you this.
What did she want nine to one one to do
about it? I'm not really you know what I'm saying.
But this was in North Carolina. I know. I mean,
that's a cool story. But and I'm nine one one.
But do you want to you want to come and
get the cat out of the road? What you want
us to do? You're saying, what's the call to action here?
(02:33:42):
Am I coming?
Speaker 11 (02:33:42):
Or?
Speaker 3 (02:33:43):
Can she not continue to drive? And you need somebody
a tow trut I don't know why.
Speaker 5 (02:33:47):
Maybe she's trying to document it for insurance purposes where
she has the police come out and ride around.
Speaker 3 (02:33:52):
She just thought this is kind of cool. I don't
to tell somebody, I guess. So.
Speaker 5 (02:33:55):
I mean, if a cat just you're driving along and
it just lands and goes through your window, I guess
maybe you feel like, hey.
Speaker 3 (02:34:01):
Maybe do I need to call now one one here?
I'm not sure it's big enough to bust the window.
That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (02:34:06):
Yeah, I was carrying a bobcat. So, like I said,
it's in it's in North Carolina.
Speaker 11 (02:34:10):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:34:11):
They she was driving to work. Uh, and this happened.
Speaker 5 (02:34:16):
Luckily she's okay because it hit the passenger side. But
and I guess there was no one with her.
Speaker 3 (02:34:21):
Yeah, I mean she won't. I don't know, but man,
if it hits the driver's side, I mean look at
for those of you who can't. It didn't split her
the window. There's a hole in the window. Yes, I
mean it just what kind of cat wasn't Well, Greg,
if you drop it from the clouds, I mean, it's
gonna come flying through. I don't know, I don't know
how tall. Do you you think that story's made a
(02:34:45):
little bit. I don't see how a cat do that
kind of damn it? She if you're the eagle, you
like cat? Gum it? I had a cat? Well, they
picked a big one.
Speaker 5 (02:34:51):
Yeah, but I would think an animal, even if it's small,
if it's dropped from way up, comes on that you're driving.
Speaker 3 (02:34:59):
So there's that force of you driving. And then now
you got the cat.
Speaker 6 (02:35:02):
I could see how that would make it a bigger Yes,
smash that sure is a big driving I think we've
got on the interstate. Oh you know what, there is
a an interstate in the background. Look, there's police and
everything behind it too. But this looks like she could
have been driving pretty fast, and you add that plus.
Speaker 3 (02:35:19):
The I want to believe it.
Speaker 5 (02:35:21):
So the cat, she says, on the side of the interstate,
didn't come. It looks like it came into the vehicle.
Speaker 3 (02:35:26):
Maybe it broke and bounced off and then oh, that's
a substantial hole.
Speaker 6 (02:35:31):
Yeah, great, guy, I'd like to see the nine one
one operator ask about her too, though. She's like, is
the cat okay, I'm fine, thanks for asking you.
Speaker 3 (02:35:38):
Yeah, yeah, not worry about the cat.
Speaker 10 (02:35:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:35:41):
Yeah, the cat's dead, lady. And this uh bizarre.
Speaker 5 (02:35:44):
It probably lost his life when the eagle got Yeah
in this bizarre story segment. Tell me if y'all think
this is real. This call was received by radio station
in DC.
Speaker 3 (02:35:55):
Take a listen.
Speaker 7 (02:35:56):
I sent Diane a few pictures of me exploring nature,
and look what I came upon.
Speaker 3 (02:36:02):
Dude, you found a dead body.
Speaker 7 (02:36:04):
Yes this may sound sick, but I've always wanted to
come upon something like that.
Speaker 3 (02:36:10):
Tell me you called the police, Yeah, no yet called
the cops. Are there remains still out on that campsite.
Speaker 7 (02:36:18):
Yes, that's along the highways thorough fare or whatever.
Speaker 3 (02:36:23):
Can you please call the police.
Speaker 7 (02:36:25):
Yes, I'm going to do that today.
Speaker 3 (02:36:27):
Today. Today, that guy sounds like somebody who Yeah, I've
always wanted to wrong with that guy. Radio host, that
guy's web search Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:36:39):
So this was a radio station and DC They got
a call from this guy who had sent them some
pictures of a dead body he found eighteen days earlier.
Eighteen days well, he told them next was shocking, which
we heard.
Speaker 10 (02:36:54):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (02:36:54):
They convinced him to contact the police immediately. Detectives located
the body and investigation is underway.
Speaker 3 (02:37:02):
I got to feel in this guy had something to
do with it. Hey, it's just a's something I've always wanted. Today,
I want to do that today.
Speaker 9 (02:37:09):
It sounds like if I get around to it, if
I can find the town I wanted to creepy creep sir.
Speaker 3 (02:37:15):
Yeah, that guys.
Speaker 6 (02:37:17):
Let's check that guy's web search history. Let's check his refrigerator,
check his freezer.
Speaker 3 (02:37:23):
Yea, check his backyard.
Speaker 5 (02:37:28):
I've got I've got gross definitely have glasses on him.
You we all know hears he's doing this when he's
uh huh yeah, real big too, too big for his face, yes, yes,
real big glasses.
Speaker 6 (02:37:39):
Probably you know, at one point had a career as
a clown.
Speaker 3 (02:37:43):
What a creepy little voice. Hey, you know something, I
don't do that today. They've always wanted to come up on.
Speaker 7 (02:37:52):
I know.
Speaker 3 (02:37:53):
That is kind of weird. That's how that's how he
said it. Right, Oh no, I'm sorry, that's something else.
Let's see you here it is. Let's see I.
Speaker 7 (02:38:02):
Sent Diane a few pictures of me exploring nature and
look what I came upon.
Speaker 3 (02:38:08):
Dude, you found a dead body? Yes, okay, weirdough.
Speaker 5 (02:38:14):
And it didn't say eighteen hours. It says in the
story eighteen days earlier. So for eighteen days I've had this.
Speaker 3 (02:38:23):
It seems like that would be a crime. Yeah, you
know what I'm saying, Like that seems like that would
be a crime. Yeah, you can't have a feeling he
was involved, but who knows, that's allegedly who knows. That's
just creepy.
Speaker 10 (02:38:36):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (02:38:37):
I'm sorry for that uplifting segment. But hey, how about
the cat? And Greg's already standing up for some reason. Okay, yeah,
I read a thing. I forgot about it, all right,
this ought to be pretty good. We'll take it ray.

areas of the country depends on where you know you
(02:40:19):
live in college football is like, yeah, NFL is more
entertaining to you. But in the Deep South, it's all
about college football. And this weekend it's going to hold
a lot of great rivalries. And we've talked about that.
You got all the the Boles and ooh this that
and the egg and iron and all that, and we've
hit a bunch of that. But looking back at this
past week name and Ohio State actually plays Michigan, I
(02:40:42):
believe this coming weekend at Michigan. And you have some
video here for us Adler that has to do with
Brutus the Ohio State Maria Oh, Bucky buck ahead.
Speaker 6 (02:40:54):
Yes, yes.
Speaker 3 (02:40:55):
So evidently at Ohio State they have you know those
Suma oh bubble suits like there you go, knackerba big inflatable.
These bulls knock him up there in torone to flying yeah,
legs fly. Evidently at Ohio State they have they have
(02:41:16):
some events with with that from time to time over
the years.
Speaker 6 (02:41:21):
You can see it. You can see that there are
events like this that happened. Well, in this situation, you've
got a guy inside the bubble suit and then you
have Brutus, the Ohio State mascot and then some other guy.
Some other random guys running at this guy. So it's
a two on one situation, but all three of them
(02:41:41):
look like they need.
Speaker 3 (02:41:42):
To go to the hospital after this.
Speaker 6 (02:41:44):
They collide, and y'all, the amount of force. First of all,
this guy, I think this is a broken collar bone.
Right there, Brutus is rolling and flying the guy, the
guy in the suit, he does a full flip, lands
on his butt.
Speaker 3 (02:41:58):
And he's not a small guy, y'all. That's five thousand
pounds of pressure coming down with that amount of flip boom,
Watch this. Watch this guy's arm, Yes, that could be
a collar, big old boot large.
Speaker 5 (02:42:12):
Now if bruf, you've never seen this. So this this bubble,
what's it called again, Greg?
Speaker 3 (02:42:19):
Knocker Ball? Knockerball is?
Speaker 5 (02:42:21):
It covers down to about the waist maybe high thighs,
so you see legs and sticking out. He's running and
here comes Brutus in this other game day staff. And
when they hit, they bounce off just as bad as
as bad as.
Speaker 3 (02:42:35):
Nobody guy running. Now, maybe Brutus helps because at least
his brutus head helps a little bit. Uh, knocker Ball
turns a complete flip, he does, and he's cracks so
much crack.
Speaker 7 (02:42:51):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:42:52):
It looks like there's handlebars inside back. Right now, they
all look like to get up laughing, though one of
them could have been hurt everywhere. I wish you were
in that. I wish that was really you know, who
wins in that situation? Why are we even doing everything?
Speaker 6 (02:43:09):
We don't?
Speaker 3 (02:43:09):
Think everybody laughed when they have the bulls hitting them.
Speaker 6 (02:43:12):
Oh yeah, yeah, those guys I think thought they would
get more protection from the bubble suit.
Speaker 3 (02:43:18):
But no, no, I did not speaking of the bulls.
Speaker 5 (02:43:21):
And I'm just sorry to get off on this, but
when they all sit at the at the table, yeah,
to see who, to see who stays that?
Speaker 3 (02:43:27):
Yeah, they sus throwing them up ei their chairs. How
quick would you just that about it? I don't know.
I think you would win.
Speaker 9 (02:43:33):
No, I wouldn't win standing around getting run over by
a bull almost did one time before.
Speaker 3 (02:43:39):
They have no cushion. No, they're just sitting there hit
the table. Hey, look, it's tough. Game day.
Speaker 5 (02:43:47):
Entertainment's tough, it is. I mean you're trying to come
come up with all kinds of things, and some things
you miss on and some things. Everybody loves this one
here I got to tell you, if I'm in the stands,
I'm laughing.
Speaker 3 (02:43:57):
I'm loving it.
Speaker 11 (02:43:59):
I am.
Speaker 5 (02:43:59):
But it's probably not that enjoyable for the people getting hit,
but sure is for those watching. Probably not all right,
So what happened to this Virginia Tech player this is
also video and audio, almost kills a woman on the sideline.
Speaker 6 (02:44:12):
Yes, Virginia Tech played Miami this weekend. And here's the
here's the play and everything.
Speaker 3 (02:44:17):
Okay, here it is. And it's a successful play, all right.
Speaker 6 (02:44:22):
And he's pushed out of bounds, and there's a woman.
I guess she's part of the staff of the team.
Speaker 3 (02:44:28):
She gets knocked back, almost as bad as this guy
did or those bull people. Oh, you got to pay attention.
Speaker 6 (02:44:33):
And y'all, she she's inches from being smashed into a railing.
Instead she just falls onto the ground. But y'all, this
was this was this was very close.
Speaker 5 (02:44:42):
To stretcher Curtesy of the acc stretcher having to come out,
all right, forty thirty five thirty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (02:44:51):
Oh oh oh, he knows this bad guys, look at her.
She jumped out. She jumped up so quick. She doesn't
even know that hurt.
Speaker 6 (02:45:01):
Oh look how close she is to this rail, her
head hitting this rail, her body hitting this red she
goes past it.
Speaker 3 (02:45:08):
Luckily that was a I mean car accident. So it happened.
Speaker 5 (02:45:13):
The sea started to part and she was back a
couple of rows, and everybody started moving. And the guy
that was in front of her moved at the last second,
which left her standing there. Sends her back, almost as
Adler said, into the shed, hit the railing and the ramp.
It could have been really, really bad. I mean, that's
(02:45:33):
these sidelines. There's so some of them are so thin,
there's no room for anything. You got the exercise bike,
you got the kicker trying to warm up. That's just dangerous. Yes,
it's a streamer. The guy's got sticking out of his
pants while he's running. A good question, what is that?
Speaker 3 (02:45:46):
Oh yeah, the little they cut off the towel and stuff. Young.
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (02:45:52):
My wife's declared after being at the Auburn game this weekend.
My wife declared, there's too many people on the field.
There's just too many people. We got too many people
on the field. Everybody wants to be just get going
up in the stands.
Speaker 3 (02:46:02):
You're not doing anything. Pretty good point, Yes, too many people.
Speaker 9 (02:46:06):
What about every time out they got to run somebo
out to the hash and recognize them.
Speaker 3 (02:46:10):
This is doctor so and so.
Speaker 9 (02:46:11):
He's been family, has been with aubers and then every
every break they got somebody standing out there.
Speaker 3 (02:46:17):
You're right, and nobody cares. He's been a doctor in
the community for I'm glad he's been a doctor in
the community for forty years.
Speaker 5 (02:46:24):
Well being a lot of being a part a lot
of I mean, I'm not bragging, that's just ye of
game day responsibilities. That's I mean, you want to recognize
people that support the program and stuff, but it is
tough to get all those reads in. And speaking of
paying attention, doesn't seem like this lady that just got
hit that we're referring back to was not paying attention.
It just happened and everybody kind of moved and she
(02:46:46):
was left standing there. But I've been part of lots
of conversations that if you don't pay attention, like maybe
you're talking with the staff, what's coming up next? Maybe
the guy that y'all are making fun of that we
have to announce that he's here.
Speaker 3 (02:46:59):
Uh, there's been pill up.
Speaker 5 (02:47:00):
You have to kind of anticipate okay, the directions coming
over here, the place coming over here, back up, back up,
back up. And hey, we've almost been hit a couple
of times, and not just by the play but by
a football. And you forget how fast these quarterbacks throw
the ball. It comes whizzing by your head. What was
that one guy for ESPN? He was never the same.
(02:47:20):
I think he ended up passing away. He had fault cancer.
Speaker 3 (02:47:23):
Oh yeah, he hit his eye. What was his name?
Oh gosh, he had been hit. He was really good.
Why ala on the sideline of like the Jets practice
or game or something. You talking about Stuart Scott? Yes, yes,
that's why he had the eye. Isn't that right? So
he thought we did a story on that he did?
So was the eye that way before? No, obviously I
(02:47:45):
think it was because it was it because of that.
I wasn't sure, but I know that he did get
hit on the sideline. He was never the same. Yeah,
I think it massed his eye up. Greg, don't you
know it was? Okay? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (02:47:56):
Well he lost his vision due to a sports injury.
Detached retina.
Speaker 3 (02:47:59):
Yeah, guys, it hit him good. That detas retina is
not good. Wow, he had to wear glasses to protect
his vision and to read a teleprompter. After that.
Speaker 6 (02:48:08):
I do remember his one of his speeches towards the
end of his life was really really inspirational.
Speaker 3 (02:48:15):
I think it was at the sb's maybe something like that. Yeah, yeah,
but you got it. You got to hit your head
on swivel if you're on the sideline. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:48:21):
Not only do you have to watch the play, the
anticipation of the action and where they're throwing the ball.
It has come whizzing by our head in a number
of times. And I always think of him, you know.
And I think there was a female report of the
guy hit too.
Speaker 3 (02:48:34):
I'm sure that Craig.
Speaker 6 (02:48:38):
Yeah, that was Stewart Scott was from the twenty fourteen
sb's speech Fight like Heck, which was kind of the
theme as.
Speaker 3 (02:48:45):
He received the Jimmy vehle.
Speaker 9 (02:48:47):
Yeah, take fun of that, Greg who also had a
moving space when ye before he died.

why over four million Americans trust Simply Safe. Their team
takes action before a criminal penetrates your place. The moment
someone steps onto your property, AI security cameras identify the
(02:50:25):
threat and alert Simply safes Life agents, and the agents
can then take action immediately, confronting the criminal and if
they need to trigger sirens or dispatch police.

Speaker 3 (02:51:29):
Doing different things. You said, something unique happened to you Friday.
Speaker 6 (02:51:33):
Maybe yeah, Yeah, I'm leaving the studio on Friday, right
here past the ponds and all that, and I see
a lady driving a truck red truck ladies driving a truck.
She's coming my way and her front front driver's side
totally flat completely she's.
Speaker 3 (02:51:48):
Driving it driving. Yes, I'm like, oh my goodness, she's
driving our sparks flying or you see it flat. It's
just totally flat.
Speaker 6 (02:51:56):
No sparks yet, not shredded, but totally flat.
Speaker 3 (02:51:58):
Okay, And so I'm that guy. So I whived around
pull a yuuie. And she's actually pulled into one of
the office building parking lots right here too, So I
shouldn't make it here you come with a creepy van.
She's probably scared to death. Here comes a greasy little
guy and.
Speaker 6 (02:52:17):
She she's creeped out by the van. I pull up
behind her as she's kidnapping in my kidnapping van. I'm like,
hey you okay, idiot, do you not see this time?
And she and she goes, it's just a flat tire.
Speaker 3 (02:52:34):
Oh, I got that, just a flat tire.
Speaker 6 (02:52:36):
I'm like, okay, so she knew. I wanted to make
sure she knew. She wanted to keep driving because her
car was what.
Speaker 11 (02:52:41):
Did you have it?
Speaker 1 (02:52:43):
Well?
Speaker 3 (02:52:43):
She with that note he left. She said, it's just
a flat tire, But you go well, ma'am, I'll be
happy to change it for you. Well, when she said
it's just a flat tire, I was like, okay, and
so I'm about to leave, and I said, okay, have
a good day. Too late for that. Yeah, I said,
have a good day and pulled pulled off, Okay, have
(02:53:07):
a good day. You left her standing that, And I'm
thinking I just told a person who has a flat
tire have a good day. Too late. It's too late
for that that she may we're good. I mean you
should have to say you're gonna change this tire, because
if you are, I'll help you.
Speaker 6 (02:53:23):
She didn't want she didn't want my help.
Speaker 3 (02:53:25):
That was my vibe.
Speaker 5 (02:53:27):
That's what you got from, was the vibe I got.
I think, did you say, okay, I just want to
he wanted. Did you just say I just want to
make sure you were okay or need any assistance?
Speaker 3 (02:53:36):
No, I said, okay, have a good day. That was
a good day. Maybe you'll run out of gas too, Yeah,
you're getting better.
Speaker 6 (02:53:43):
Yeah, I hope you don't have any loved ones that
are sick.
Speaker 3 (02:53:48):
Late.
Speaker 5 (02:53:49):
You didn't even give it a chance to breathe like,
all right, having a good day, all right? I've checked
it off the list.
Speaker 3 (02:53:55):
I stopped. I'm out, I'm out. Yeah, that's like when
the waiter drops off your food and he's like, enjoy
your food.
Speaker 6 (02:54:00):
You're like you too, I know, and then they walk away, sponsor,
and you're just hanging there with your you too.
Speaker 3 (02:54:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:54:06):
I was just sitting in a quiet car thinking about
my have a good day. You have a good day?
Speaker 3 (02:54:12):
Why you're stranded?
Speaker 6 (02:54:14):
Too late for that, buddy. Don't tell somebody to have
a good day if they have a flat tire. But
indeed is why don't you go sit in the wrong
seats of the Auburn game while you're at it?
Speaker 3 (02:54:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (02:54:22):
Do you think it's the I think the van presents
you as a I don't know, people don't understand how
nice and generous you are.
Speaker 3 (02:54:29):
I think the van makes it make you look like
you might be a little bit of a creeper.
Speaker 9 (02:54:32):
Yeah, but I'm not buying he I think he changed
her tone when he was telling us to make it
sound like she didn't need help.
Speaker 3 (02:54:38):
But I was like, the flat time and I just
hope someone will just help me, just so. She just
says just all the time. Probably good day, an idiot,
that's the dumbest thing you can never say to Did
you ever look in the side mirror to see if
she was okay? I wonder if she was still waving there,
come back. She didn't say, yeah, somebody's coming to help me. No,
(02:55:00):
or my my or my grandson lives around the quarters.
You got her having a grandson. I got the vibe
she did not want me around. And I could have
been with the vibe that you didn't really want to
be around. And those two get together, then it's time
to go. Yeah, so it is. Yeah, that was sorry
about that. Thuddy, that's.
Speaker 10 (02:55:21):
My bad.
Speaker 3 (02:55:22):
Glad. That wasn't my mom. That'd be just left somebody's like,
oh that was him. She told me about that this weekend.
Enjoy your movie. Thanks you too. Yeah, stupid, that's all right. Yeah,
so there you go. Well that's the good Sameritan Award
of the Week for you.
Speaker 6 (02:55:42):
Yeah, brightened her day.
Speaker 9 (02:55:43):
But if you took the time to turn around. If
you took the time to turn around, you could have
at least offered to have change the tire. If not,
just keep going straight.
Speaker 3 (02:55:51):
Like okay, yeah yes, and then you can just keep going.
Speaker 5 (02:55:55):
When's the last time y'all changed the tire on the
side of a minute. Really, thank goodness. Uh mine was
earlier this year. I think I talked a little bit
about it was Reese up and yeah, I remember that.
And on these you know these trail boss type you
know trucks, you know, it just has it comes with
a little bit of a lift or whatever. The jacks
(02:56:16):
that they come with they don't jacket high enough, so
you've got to have something underneath it to support it
to get his high standards, put it on blocks and
and that's when I discussed the fact that nobody gets
over if you're on the side of the interstate and
his truck, which is pretty big, is sitting there swaying
from from the wind of the interstate. It's it's it's crazy.
It can get a little bit nerve wracking. I mean,
(02:56:38):
luckily we got it to the place and got it
worked out. I think I talked about that on the
on the show. But that's the last time. And it's
you need help if especially if if it's a poor
old lady by herself, you probably need help. Yes, I
would think of just even if she has triple A
or whatever, it's going to take a minute to get there.
Speaker 9 (02:56:55):
Yeah, at least she could have set in your van,
while I think the last one she didn't want to
get in the van. It was a couple of years ago.
We're in Lisa's car and all of a sudden, the
low air thing cameut. Yeah, and then it kept dropping
and I click on see and it cast it though,
So and we were I was at pel City and
I pulled off the interstate and got into the marathon
gas pat But I pride myself on changing times. I'm
(02:57:18):
kind of like the dad on Christmas story. Yeah, and
I got out. I mean it was record time. Yeah,
we uh patted myself. We got it, We got it done,
and we just happened to be up there. I think
it was for a game or something. I can't remember.
So we were literally a couple of miles away. So
we're like, yeah, we'll.
Speaker 3 (02:57:33):
Come help you out. He says he hit something.
Speaker 5 (02:57:35):
He went down so quick that the tire one, he said,
he barely had time to get a big one.
Speaker 6 (02:57:41):
So I've had several blowouts. That's great, that feels great.
You got to change your drawers after.
Speaker 3 (02:57:46):
That, right, So did you kind of channel what she
probably felt like being stranded?
Speaker 1 (02:57:50):
But she didn't want he was the Rick Burgess Show.

You can also text store to eight eight eight six
two four forty eight sixty nine. I think I know
the answer to this because we have discussed this in
the past. But when it comes to pizza, like just hey,
I want I want some pizza. You have your you
know love pizza, but we kind of love we kind
of we're meat lovers.
Speaker 3 (02:59:09):
We like the pepperoni, the sausage are y'all this weird
people like I want chicken and all that on my
pizza and weird stuff. I don't want yeahed to take that.
You just want a pizza, right, I love pizza. Yeah,
I don't mind a little chicken deal, but yeah, it's
just a chicken out front over Yeah it's okay. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:59:30):
Well there's a even like barbecue chicken pizzas. I've had
the barbecue just like like barbecue. Yeahwich, that's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (02:59:39):
That's not bad.
Speaker 5 (02:59:40):
But most of the time, if I want pizza, that
just means, hey, I'm in the mood for pizza.
Speaker 3 (02:59:45):
I don't have it a lot.
Speaker 5 (02:59:46):
I want what I normally get and not kind of
venture off into these special type of pizzas.
Speaker 3 (02:59:51):
And I know some people do.
Speaker 5 (02:59:52):
But uh, there's a Long Island, New York pizza rha
that has gone viral for their thanksg Giving pizza.
Speaker 3 (03:00:01):
What is it Thanksgiving pizza?
Speaker 7 (03:00:04):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (03:00:05):
And I have a feeling I know how y'all going
to y'all going to react to this. If you want
to know what's on it? Here is the owner? Is it?
Is it Pinos Pizza of Deer Park. He's going to
tell you all about what's on the Pinos Pizza. I
believe thanks Giving pizza Turkey gravy turkey grey around the
(03:00:26):
video posy.
Speaker 5 (03:00:34):
Too much gravy No Pinos Pizza of Deer Park. Uh,
Pinos to that it's square, not round. It costs thirty
four ninety nine and they've sold around five hundred of
them so far.
Speaker 3 (03:00:49):
The chicken, I mean, the turkey added to it helps it.
It's the gravy I'm a little scared of. I like gravy,
but I don't want too much ground.
Speaker 12 (03:00:55):
I get that.
Speaker 5 (03:00:56):
I'll eat all that if I had it on a plate,
But something about then presenting it to me as a
pizza make it like this?
Speaker 3 (03:01:02):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah?
Speaker 7 (03:01:04):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (03:01:05):
Would I give it a try? Yeah yeah, I would
to somebody laid it down in front of you.
Speaker 6 (03:01:10):
But even like even with the barbecue pizza, I'm it's good.
Maybe I'll like it, but I want I want a
pepperoni pizza with tomatoes.
Speaker 3 (03:01:19):
That's what I'm saying these specialty pizzas. I don't play
with my pizza. Yeah, you know, it's not preferred. It
might taste good, but it doesn't do whatever you do well,
you know what I mean, I do well, we are
talking aout pizza.
Speaker 6 (03:01:30):
Great, don't play with my pizza. Don't play with my dough.
Hey yo, don't play with my don't don't play with
my pepperoni. Don't play with none of it. I know
I like it, right guys, right, Hey, barbecue is, but
he does make it look good the presentation.
Speaker 3 (03:01:51):
Yeah, I just don't know about it that somebody all
that gravy just kind of we talked about when.
Speaker 5 (03:01:55):
We were little, Greg, you and I, we were such
picky eaters, my food cutting to I didn't need dressing.
Oh hey, you couldn't touch no, and don't let us
some juice.
Speaker 3 (03:02:03):
Run out of one. And now if the juice is,
oh god forbid to get on my roll roll. I
can't eat it now. And hey, deviled eggs, I wouldn't
touch it. I can't eat nothing. Turn of greens, wouldn't
eat nothing, colleague. Now I just pile it all. It
looks like a ant.
Speaker 9 (03:02:21):
Bed of just nothing but food. I can eat deviled
eggs like nobody. I'm like, I have to co hand
Luke eating fifty eggs. I do have to calm myself.
Speaker 3 (03:02:29):
I'm like Rocky just putting them.
Speaker 5 (03:02:32):
When you all are making your plate and you're kind
of first in line and the whole family's behind you,
and you felt I.
Speaker 3 (03:02:37):
Go for the corner of the dressing corner, crusty corner.
Speaker 5 (03:02:40):
Yeah, and you feel like, Okay, I can't take more
than like maybe two deviled eggs because now I'm gonna
eat them all.
Speaker 3 (03:02:45):
You got to do a headcount. I'm doing a headcount
the whole time.
Speaker 11 (03:02:48):
I go.
Speaker 3 (03:02:48):
Don't like devil eggs, so he don't count, right, the
kids don't count. Yeah, they can have fas Terry will
only eat one. The kids would be eating one of
them Jammy zammies or whatever, the little things.
Speaker 5 (03:03:00):
Again having having adult boys though, I mean they're the
ones that's like a small team, is there? Yeah, I
mean you're making food for it seems like twenty and
there's only three.
Speaker 3 (03:03:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (03:03:10):
I mean when Taylor and Blake were teenagers at the holidays,
they could load up.
Speaker 3 (03:03:14):
No, yeah, they can hold up. They'll they'll pile it up, man,
and then go back. Then save room for dessert. Huh,
you can't. But you eat it anyway even though there's
no room for it. Right, I'm sorry I didn't save
any room. But I'm gonna have a slice anyway, and
give me somebody that pickan pie. Come on, Come on.
So Saturday night, I come back from being in the
woods hunting, left the Camo on purpose so I could
(03:03:36):
walk in the house. Was up hunting, and the price
melt like sweat.
Speaker 5 (03:03:39):
Sure it was so hot it didn't see deer and
look at me, not one, not one. How many lady
bugs do you think.
Speaker 3 (03:03:49):
Were on me all this? What's going on? I'm tired
of them. Every shooting house was infested with lady bugs.
Speaker 6 (03:03:55):
They're a good bug, though they say they kill like
aphids and all kinds of stuff that get I keeping corrected.
Speaker 9 (03:04:02):
I don't want them crawling down my back, though I
keep getting corrected that what we're dealing with is not
lady bugs, is some kind of something.
Speaker 3 (03:04:10):
Yes, they're training fly lady much the wasp we're coming
out to Oh yeah, but they won't. It was a battle.
They won't stand. They can't believe it either. They're out
and this like we're seeing Thanksgiving. I can't believe what
(03:04:31):
are we doing now?
Speaker 5 (03:04:33):
Always a battle. The whole hunt was a battle, and
I forgot to at times leave and look for deer.
I was in there just trying to survive.
Speaker 3 (03:04:39):
You know what, I feel better because I've been out
making trails in the yard.
Speaker 6 (03:04:43):
I've just got a big yard, let's just be that,
and the toxic acreage in the back, and I have
not seen it as many deer, and I thought it
was I was messing up their trails, and so they're
they're scared and there's going somewhere else.
Speaker 3 (03:04:56):
But that makes me feel better.
Speaker 6 (03:04:58):
I'm kind of glad you didn't see any, because I
have not seen very as many recently.
Speaker 3 (03:05:02):
Well they're they're even like, hey, we'll just come out
at night. It's so hot. But I pull up and
uh and I go in and Terry had ordered pizza
and given pizza. No, it was just you know what.
We ventured out a little bit and she ordered some
some wings too. They weren't that bad, but I was
pizza places have good wings, yeah, and some don't. I
(03:05:24):
was violent with that pizza. I was so hungry.
Speaker 5 (03:05:28):
I do, I will, I will, but that's gonna go
to But I'm gonna tell you this, I'm not going
to push it away.
Speaker 10 (03:05:36):
No, I like it.
Speaker 6 (03:05:37):
I'm a meat lover. I go with the meat lover pizza.
You know, don't look at me like that.
Speaker 3 (03:05:43):
Yeah, that wasn't a little much. Sometimes people over doing
put too much sausage. Yeah, you gotta watch the sausage.
Watch it.
Speaker 5 (03:05:51):
All that grease and stuff. The place we would go
to that I'm mad, still mad that it closed. Uh,
the meat was what I would I'll.
Speaker 3 (03:05:59):
Take something stone. Remember that stone. We don't have to
really announce the name of it, black stone something that.
It was a great piece. They had this cool away
you wash your hands. You remember that hand washing. You
just went there just for that. You're like, guys, look,
that wasn't good man. Get him out of there.
Speaker 10 (03:06:22):
That's enough of that.
Speaker 3 (03:06:23):
Yeah, the lion shooting back up because you're in there
washing man. Yeah, it's really cool. You take hands and
water and you turn your head and smile over your shoulder. Content.
Speaker 6 (03:06:33):
Somebody got a good one. They sent us on the
text thread there.
Speaker 3 (03:06:36):
Oh yeah, wow, that's a Oh that's Nate.
Speaker 14 (03:06:42):
That's me.
Speaker 3 (03:06:43):
It is Nate.
Speaker 6 (03:06:44):
It is a cowboy hat. I don't recognize.
Speaker 3 (03:06:46):
No, that's well done. Congratulations them up. What's called what's
a regular boat? Recurve? Yeah, recurvey. He's got the old
style bow there. Good for him. Look at him putting
one down with the old school bow.
Speaker 10 (03:06:59):
Do you know that?
Speaker 5 (03:06:59):
You know that respot? One of those curve he's been
he's been practicing nice. He can't when when he was
home last he was practicing in the backyard.
Speaker 3 (03:07:08):
He was hitting it to pretty good. Yeah, I got
the old compound bow. You're gonna get a crossbow and
be like Darryl, Yeah, Darryl did.
Speaker 6 (03:07:23):
It always bothered me that the arrow would get like
stuck in the zombies heads and he would pull it out.
Speaker 9 (03:07:29):
Yeah, and he had a lot of arrows, access to
a lot of arrows. How could he have that many
living in that, you know, with the upside down world?
Speaker 3 (03:07:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (03:07:38):
How unrealistic?
Speaker 3 (03:07:40):
Yeah, I ain't. I couldn't have it. Fix those erros
zombies is the Rick Burgess Show. Thank you so much
(03:08:08):
for hanging out with us here on the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (03:08:10):
I am speedy alongside Greg Burgess, Chris Ady van Adler
with a good time gang holding the ford down, Rick
and all with us today, Lord Willingbanks.
Speaker 3 (03:08:17):
Soon we have entertained a few things. One of them
was on screened phone calls.
Speaker 5 (03:08:22):
We might get to those eight eight eight six two
four forty eight sixty nine to wrap up this hour.
That's eight eight eighty six, Big Vox. Give us a call.
There's some lines open. We might venture over there and
hit you guys up for unscreened phone calls. If you'll
play nice Greg says it was fun having Gary with
us last week.
Speaker 9 (03:08:43):
Yeah, he came in, he came India, and the whole
time he's here, he saying he's leaving.
Speaker 3 (03:08:49):
Oh, I said, you got an hour, just stay.
Speaker 2 (03:08:51):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (03:08:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:08:52):
I've talked to him a couple of times this weekend
and he was, you know, he loves to go out
and eat with Miss Gwyn.
Speaker 10 (03:08:58):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (03:08:58):
They'll go out and you know, he's a talk of
the town. They throw him out and they'll throw him
out of restaurant.
Speaker 5 (03:09:03):
It's funny you say that because I ask him every time, Hey, buddy,
y'all out eating again?
Speaker 10 (03:09:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:09:09):
And uh, And he won't know if I was seeing
anything because I told him, you know, I was going
hunting with Leonor's and he was just so hot. It
was really more about, hey, it's opening day, let's just
go and we didn't see anything. But every time he's
out eating, like, good night, buddy man, goodness, y'all sure
to get out a lot.
Speaker 3 (03:09:25):
Is he like foodie?
Speaker 6 (03:09:28):
He is a food he'll cook and then he'll go
out to eat too.
Speaker 7 (03:09:31):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (03:09:32):
Yeah, Gary. And by the way, can I say something
to Gary real quick?
Speaker 14 (03:09:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:09:41):
