welcoming us back. Live Speedy Greg Adler all here today.
Thank you for a nice three day weekend. It was.
It was great. I hope you enjoyed some of the
(02:09):
more memorable hours of the first year of the show.
Got a lot of great feedback on that, and we, boy,
do we have a lot to cover today, gentlemen. So
the table has all kinds of things on it. College
football as chaotic as ever. So many job openings that
(02:29):
over the weekend, we all four were offered jobs, so
we'll we'll hit that. We like the buyout options. So
we're in at matthith we win or lose, we leave wealthy.
So we'll look at the chaos of college football today.
We are down to two monkeys in East Mississippi, still
too out there. We're thankful for loving freedom. A Mississippi
(02:52):
mom took one out over the weekend, and I cannot
wait to review that story. The quote that I loved
from the weekend. I killed the monkey like any mama
would Mama. Keep in mind, and if and if that
doesn't tell y'all a lot about our culture out there.
Those of you don't live where we live, and you
ain't from around here. Your mama killed the monkey of
(03:12):
chast and and shoot it dead. Okay, so we here,
my child, that's right, Yeah, and you know I did
that for not just my yet, not just my kids, Speedy,
but the kids all around here, everybody. I did what
any mama would have. Yeah, how's your mama? Then she's good?
She killed a monkey, right, cool? Okay, mama looking for
two more. Mama shot a monkey today, fixed your salt
(03:33):
peanut butter and Joey sandwich right after it. So so
we have that update today. Got I got I personally,
I got to go and do a lot over the weekend.
Visit some some family, go see Paul McCartney. The what
was what was hilarious is Paul McCartney's doing Two Knights
in Atlanta at eighty three, by the way, and and
(03:57):
Kevin Derburry for some reason, got confused on when I
was owing, and all of a sudden, I'm at home
last night getting ready for bed, and I get a hey,
I'm Hitvava Cottoney you hear it, And I'm like, Kevin,
I was there last night. I mean I'm not there
Monday though, And so he was both of it. No,
I did not, you know, I had menda a concert
(04:17):
in a long long time and wasn't sure I would
ever go back. I know, I mean small is the
small is the group of artists that I would go
to see. Paul McCartney apparently is one of them, and uh,
and I remembered a lot of there were some moments
I remembered why I don't go anymore. It's a lot
of people, and it's a lot of a lot of hassle,
(04:38):
a lot of inefficiency, a lot of chaos, a lot
of stuff, a lot of people who don't know the
basic I mean, just the basic walking around chewing gum
appropriate behavior when it comes to people trying to enjoy
something that we've all paid incredible amounts of money for tickets.
I do want to thank Mark and Lenn Garnett for
(05:00):
securing us two tickets to a very difficult ticket to get.
Uh and uh and we we got to spend some
time with them, which we haven't got to do in
a long time, which was wonderful. I will say to
the hotel where we stayed, I shouldn't be the one
that has to remind you of this concert. Oh well,
(05:21):
I mean I was calling weeks ahead and I was,
and they were saying things like, oh no, you shouldn't
have any issue, uh famous any issue? Get getting get
eaten at our restaurant. And I said, well, can I
just get a reservation? We want to meet our friends
and eat then walk over. Because I did, I am
going to stay. If I'm going to an event out
of town, I'm gonna stay in a hotel that's walking
(05:41):
to I'm not gonna I'm not gonna I'm not gonna
have to park it. That's a good call. I'm gonna
walk to the arena. We were just blocks from the arena.
That's good. And I had to tell the hotel they
were only blocks from the arena. They were like huh.
I said, well, you do you realize Paul McCartney is
like three blocks from your hotel. You was, how many
people are I'm into that? They said, Paul McCartney. Who
(06:02):
And they were like they're like really, okay. I said,
you don't know this plan for it, and they're like,
they just get so many yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
And I said, so I'm thinking that's gonna put a
little that's gonna put some pressure on the restaurant. No, no,
I said, you're telling me that I'm just gonna walk
down from my room and walk into your restaurant and
sit down at a table for four, eat dinner with
my friends, and walk over to the concert. Oh yeah,
that shouldn't be a problem at all. Y'all think that
was a problem. Oh yeah, okay, So wait a minute,
(06:30):
are you telling me you're trying to think something else?
Are you trying to one waitress? Listen? One waitress, one waitress,
two bartenders, because they did have it was a bistro
kind of a far have whatever. Yeah, they were two bartenders,
one server, one one. I'm gonna say that again. The
server acted as the server and the hostess who would
seat you. That must not be used to And people
(06:54):
are piling in on their way to the concert. Are
like us in the hotel for the concert. Everybody wanted
to eat before they go, and speedy when I tell
you that didn't happen, then speedy when I say to you, seriously,
you need to prepare yourself manly. When I tell you
of all my friends, when I tell you, sir, you
were on my mind. When I tell you what two
(07:17):
chicken fingers and fries costs at State Farm Arena, Oh
because you couldn't, because you couldn't eat at the restaurant.
That was not true. It was not possible I've never
been told by a server we have stopped the kitchen.
I'm sorry, just so y'all know we've cut the kitchen off.
What do you mean meaning we're gonna stop taking orders
(07:37):
till we catch up, and then we'll start taking orders again.
I said, now, how long until you take an order?
She said about twenty minutes. So we can't even order
for twenty minutes. No, the kitchen's got to catch up.
That's it. It's out. So then we go into the motive.
We will just eat at the arena, which is never
good when I tell you you're not even prepared. Look, I'm
(07:58):
concerned about it. How big a price that is? It
even bothered me, But I was so hungry it didn't matter.
I threw away trying to do better. I bet they
were just great chicken fingers. Yeah, and and uh, and
then you're still hungry. And then keep in mind, keep
in mind, I'm there to see Paul McCartney. I'm not.
(08:20):
I'm not there to see you know, will give me
a Martyn artist? Give me somebody knew that young people
would go to Bunny, but I'm not there to see
bad Bunny. Or what's that other one there's some there's
somebody post malone. I'm there to see Paul McCartney. So
everybody here is we're not as old as Paul old yeah, aging,
(08:44):
you know there's some old white people ain't been out
in a while, okay. And and the tables. Right when
I get a place to sit in in the in
the lobby, to eat the chicken fingers that you won't believe,
you honestly want believe, I asked the woman again to
repeat the prospect. Yeah, you're I normally don't even look.
(09:06):
I normally don't even I.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Have an idea going to the NHL Stars game last
year or this year.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
This year shocking, I was shocked, Okay, shocking, okay, And
I don't get shot by this guy. Yeah okay. So anyway,
we don't need four, I just need one, right, I said, no, no, no,
not sick. I'm sorry. Did you did you think I
was with all them? You know what I mean, I'm
not paying for the line. It's just me, and you're
like a generous fellow. But anyway, so and then of
(09:35):
course I sit there and I mean like there's not
room for anybody else, but everybody needs a place to
eat their food, because now everybodys in the sand, bye
we are They all tried to go that right. All
of a sudden, guy says, you care for my wife?
And I sit we all and I yeah. I was
like excuse me, and and I was like, well, I guess.
And then all of a sudden, the way this the
way the stows were. They're hard to sit on. And
two elderly people try to sit with us, and she
(09:58):
can shooting get it. You can get in the chair.
But to see it and had to give up on it.
Have you ever seen those stuff? They're they're like in
these big lobbies like that, don't have a kind of
a picnic like set up in the in the stew
swings out on all these things like this. Yeah, she
tried to sit on one of those. And you know
the stow's only about this big round. Yeah, it's oh wow.
(10:24):
You have to you have to be able to lift
your foot up to get in.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The Men Church Conferences
are coming two big weekends in Birmingham, Alabama at Starkville, Mississippi.
(10:51):
Tickets are going fast. You don't miss these powerful weekends. In
January twenty twenty six, get your tickets now at Themanchurch
dot be a Man follow Tuesdays.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
All right, here we go, So thank you for being
with us today. A lot to unpack. Uh So, looking
at some of the updates from over the over the weekend,
I do want to kind of update you guys on
kind of where we are when it comes because a
(11:26):
lot of you asked us when it comes to the
Man Church conferences that we just talked about our Kent
Osborne did coming out of the break those of you
that are that are thinking about these for Christmas gifts,
which is a good idea. But I want to hit
you just kind of an update here and this this
this is the real stuff. Okay, this is no I'm
just trying to be a friend and update you. So
here's where we are on Birmingham. That'll be the that'll
(11:49):
be the first weekend coming up in the late January,
the twenty third and twenty fourth. Okay, so that's our
first conference Birmingham, Alabama. Only general mission now available. All
early access is sold out, so there's none on early access,
all sold out. There's eight hundred and ninety eight seats left, okay,
(12:14):
and that's that's a that's a big, big venue. So
that's over half of them sold. That's probably about sixty
percent sold out to start will start will be the
very next weekend. That'll be the thirtieth and the thirty first,
So the very next weekend, you have forty nine early
access tickets that remain, so forty nine of those and
(12:37):
you have two hundred and two general mission remaining. So
there's where we are. So those of you that are thinking,
you know, I'm gonna I'm trying to figure out when
I want to get these tickets. That's your update. That's
where we stand right now. Okay, so let's look at
college football a little bit from the weekend. We'll update
on concert and weekend stories, and we'll get to the
(12:59):
latest update on monkeys in East Mississippi. All that is
still coming. So over the weekend, I didn't see a
lot of college football. I saw very little of it.
I had a very good, wonderful weekend. College football didn't
get much of my time, but I know there were
some good games. And so Ohio State, they they handled
(13:22):
Penn State. They remained at number one, Penn State home
with them for a half did they they went at
a half time. It was closed. Indiana destroyed Maryland. Indiana
may be the real deal. That's a good football team.
That's a good football team. They're getting what you got
to have right now. They're getting physical defense with good
quarterback play. Yeah, those are the two things you need
(13:44):
right now, and they're getting both of those. A and
M did not play, but they remained at number three.
Bama didn't play. They remain at number four. Florida Georgia
better game than I think a lot of people thought
we did. We did tell everybody to watch that one. Yeah,
Florida hung in there but did not win. Well. Georgia's
fourth quarter twice. Yeah, I know. It's a Georgia fan though.
(14:06):
You'd like to see them go ahead and do that
from the beginning and not stress you like that. But
they went again and winning. That's the bottom line. Oregon
didn't play, but they stay at number six. Old Miss.
They did handle Carolina. I thought that might be a
trap game for Old Miss and that South Carolina can
beat anybody on any given day. But that's a credit
(14:27):
to Old Miss. You need to win those kind of games,
and they did and win thirty to fourteen. So they
stay at number seven. Will Lane Kiffin stay with Old
miss that's the beer question now, because he's gonna have
a lot of opportunities out there, But are any of
them better than his current situation? Yeah, and he'll get
a raise. Yeah, oh yeah, b YU didn't play. None
of us care about them, sorry to all you b
(14:47):
YU fans, But they stay at eight. Texas Tech beat
Kansas State. They stay at nine, and that's that's your
next matchup this weekend. Those two play. College Game Day
has announced that that's where they'll be a b YU
Texas Tech. Ok Okay, okay, gotcha, Okay. Notre Dame is
at ten because they the college football people cannot rank
(15:10):
them lower than ten for some reason. But they're they're
at number ten, at six and two always as Notre
Dame always is. They're they have the most losses of
anybody in the top ten, which is standard Notre Dame. Okay, okay,
So so none of us understand it, and they'll be
in the playoffs. I'll be right there. Yeah, you know. Oklahoma, Yeah,
(15:32):
Oklahoma going into not to watch out there sooners. You
have to watch them. You don't know what they're gonna do.
No good football team, dangerous, So they did beat Tennessee.
I'm sorry, but they did. Uh. And so they're at eleven. Uh.
And then Texas. They looked great against Vanderbilt for a while.
Oh yeah, To be honest, if you look at the score,
(15:53):
Vanderboot was not in it at all until very late,
and it was still gonna be a stre even if
they had got I left the game. I started watching
it some reason, I kept looking back, and then I'm
glad I did. But the game as a whole, they
until the very end, they were never in the game.
I was living through you guys and the updates, and
y'all started talking about Vandy coming back, and like, do
what right? Yeah, they're good. Do I understand? They had
(16:16):
an on side kick late? Oh yeah, and nearly and
again you got to get down the field and get
it with a field go. Yeah, would have tied it up,
but they had a chance to recover it and couldn't
get it rattled in and went out of bound.
Speaker 6 (16:27):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Looking over the weekend, h Vandy again gutsy, but they
got themselves in such a hole where they just couldn't
climb out of it. The trap game that we missed
over the weekend, we kind of talked about it, but
we didn't call it. We should have was Georgia Tech,
North Carolina State? I know the be convincingly. Yeah, yeah
they did. So the Georgia Georgia Tech got beat by
(16:48):
n C State. So and did I see where Duke
beat Clemson? Yeah they did. And you know, and.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Dabbo had quite the postgame press conference Targo this year
is really he said I might fire today.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
Yeah, and I think the way things that'd be crazy.
But I didn't he say that he would understand because
he might find himself right now.
Speaker 7 (17:07):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
And Hugh Freeese was fired over the weekend, So that
that is an update. So now Auburn joins all those
looking for a coach and Hugh Freeze out at Auburn
after the ten and three loss to Kentucky. We predicted
game nine to seven. We weren't that far off. That's
exactly what we thought of, right, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
So Auburn has been named by out you they have.
They're paying the last three coaches fifty two million in buyouts.
Gus was twenty one million, Harson was fifteen million, and
now Hugh Freeze sixteen million.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
And some people at LSU say, cross the river the
three combined, still lower than what we paid Brian Kelly.
That's that's and Jimbo Fisher is still the walking back.
Yeah yeah, nobody ever seen him. I put in my
name for all available coaching jobs. Yeah, go ahead, I mean, look,
it didn't matter. I mean, I don't have to win.
Still gonna be rid, yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
A lot of times, you know, the rumor meals are
all they're off, they're off, you know. But speaking of
Jimbo Fisher, his names that top of list for Auburn
and all the little rumor meals.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Sure, I don't know. I don't know. Franklin, Well, the
guy at two lanes up there too, well, we talked
him and we've we've talked about it before you said
some commentators went there, we've talked about this for years.
Being from the Alabama, the state of Alabama culture, Auburn
is a place that is that person you know that
keeps getting divorced and they never think it's them. They
(18:33):
always think it's all these other people. The person has
been married, you know, six times, and they don't realize
it might be you be the problem. Yeah, Auburn may
be the problem. Not the coaches.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (18:47):

stuck with it. Or we're trying to get out of here.
We got to go anyway. Sell my house fast could
(21:36):
be a property you inherited, didn't know you're gonna deal with.
Nobody's ever dealt with mama's old farmhouse. Why not, let's
sell my house fast. Handle this. If it needs repairs,
they'll do them. Stuff needs to be moved out of there,
they'll do that too. Hey, just haul that off, donate
it whatever. Okay, state do something. Go right now to
(21:56):
rickburgessshow dot com. Under sponsors. You'll see sell my house fast.
Good people, transparent. They get you a fair price, no
real estate commissions. One eight hundred seven three four zero
five zero four one eight hundred seven three four zero
five zero four for sell my house fast. Uh so
(22:21):
let's talk a little more. By the way, we did
get the word Dick Cheney just passed away at eighty four. Again,
I saw Paul McCartney at eighty three do two hours
and forty five minutes, thirty five songs and five encorese
But anyway, former Vice president Dick Cheney has gone on
(22:41):
end at eighty four. So for some reason, Greg's giving
him a nickname. It goes back to the wrestling days,
even though he wasn't a wrestler, right, But that's not
his nickname Greg. It's not no double D no Greg.
So so anyway, yes, we're aware that that dick change
you just went on in. So uh so there you go.
(23:03):
Uh but let's picture. That's a good picture. Yeah. By
the way, if I if I go on in, find
a good picture. Yeah, there's a lot of pictures. There's
a lot of pictures out there. I don't know what
that is. You don't have to get a picture of
me that shows that. Everybody goes with yea, he did
it like he was about to die. Yeah, go ahead
and get one. Makes me look a little at least better,
at least give me a happy picture, you know where
people go, Well, yeah, that's how I remember. He was
(23:24):
in the corner. Not one. Not one that seems like
he's standing around the corner ready to scare me. Yeah.
So all right, the only text nation would ask this,
there are the kind of questions that owe me. By
the way, somebody know if the new Camo hoodie uh
fits like like the the maroon rick and bubble hoodie
(23:45):
that you'll had toward the end, I have both of them. Uh,
I wouldn't. There's not a lot of difference in the
as far as the fit might be a little smaller. Yeah,
maybe maybe just a hair. Yeah, yeah, I'd probably go
down one. H if I is getting the Camo hoodie.
Uh So, anyway, I love this kind of question. I mean,
up on you, I'm sure, uh the other direction. It's
(24:09):
just not something I have to do a whole lot.
I'm going down one. It's just fun to say it.
But anyway, So these are the kind of things that
swirl around this coaching thing that I that I would
like for somebody to define for me that I don't
I don't fully understand what they mean. Okay, Okay, so
you're hearing this a lot. You know about about you know, Auburn.
(24:30):
You heard this about Brian Kelly when he went to
l s U is just not a good fit. Yeah,
they got they got to find the right fit. Well
what what what does that mean? Yeah, I mean if
if you're if you're out there now, everybody's for sale.
What doesn't Yeah, everybody's for sale. The color of the
color of the uniform. As we've said, I don't know
why it matters, but it does. But every single culture
(24:52):
that I know, every culture that I know in football,
is it's that there's some that care more than others,
because to have a different attitude is we want you
to come here and win, and and if you don't win,
then we we tend to fire you. So you know,
when when when people start saying and I've heard you
were saying Many one, they're doing it again, Auburn needs
(25:14):
to hire somebody L s U same thing that understands
L s U or understands Auburn. What does that mean?
I mean, I mean, you're the Alburn y'all grew up
Auburn fans. I think I think personality wise, but I
don't know what that really means. And and Brian Kelly
was not a fit for L. S U. We all
said that, right, he just didn't seem like he fit
coach o Oh, he was perfect, you know he had,
(25:36):
but then they fired him when he lost. Yeah, yeah,
I mean.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
From the national championship when he wasn't many. It wasn't many,
it was not meaning well looks. So I guess personality
wise y'all would know best. I mean, I don't really
know the answer to that.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Like I know, gene Chiswick was fired what only two
seasons away from a national championship. Gus Gusmuson took Allman
too a nationalampionship game. They didn't win it, but they
went to the national championship and then they fired him.
Tuber Bulle had Auburn in the mix every season he
was there. It seemed like, I mean, some more than others,
(26:12):
probably got robbed in two thousand and four. That was
a raw doe under the old system. But that was
a great football team. But and yeah, but under that system,
that's just the way it was. That's just the way
it was. If one and two never lose, they're not out. Yeah. Yeah,
they really needed they really needed the system of Now, yeah,
because we all knew that the two thousand and four
(26:32):
team that everybody just looking at schedule and everything, that
that team might not have beat USC but they certainly
were better than Oklahoma. Yeah, you know, but it didn't matter,
I mean because of the way the system worked. One
and two and they never lost. So yeah, you know
the way. But then you go, but if tuberfull had
coached against Saban Alabama teams, would he have been as successful.
(26:56):
Alabama wasn't any good during that time. So there's all
kinds of factors. I mean, it's I'm taking nothing away
from Tebville. You just coached the era that you're in. Yeah,
but Alabama wasn't very good and uh and and now
you know, these other coaches had to coach the rivalries
their rival while Saban was there, and really Mauson probably
(27:16):
had as much success against Saban as any Auburn coach,
but they fired him too. So so you I don't
I don't really know what you so tell me. An example,
when did Auburn have well, I think coach that understood
their culture.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Well, I think uh, I think I think Freeze had
it had a rough time because Harson just that Brian
Harson felt a little bit like Brian Kelly at LSU.
Harson it never never really seemed to fit, uh, you know,
with with Auburn. He just it just didn't seem right,
you know. And then so Freeze comes in and and
you know, trying to rebuild, and.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
That he just can't.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
I mean I felt like that might have worked, uh
you know, uh got the Yeah, yeah, Gusts seemed like
he fit.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Gus Bus. Yeah. So but I don't to your point, Rick,
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (28:05):
I thought Freeze would be would have been more successful.
I think that expectations. Part part of that where why
we that he was gotten?
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Yeah, well, like you said, I don't think any I'm
not making any excuses. I mean I think that Hugh
Freeze even himselves said, I understand situation, but I don't
Auburn the program that Hugh Freeze took over was in horrible,
horrible shape, and I did you pull the trigger on
him too quick? That will always be the You know,
we're also living in a time in football fans have
(28:36):
always been this way to an extent, but our culture
even more now is the instant gratification. I must have
grat gratification immediately and quickly, and I lose patience real fast.
And you know, you know, so you can look. You
got to you gotta find somebody. I would disagree that
you got to find Auburn culture, not not anymore. And
(28:59):
in the new standard, I think you better find nil culture. Yeah,
who's the best at that. I understand the modern college
football set up and your Sabans. I'm not comparing Hugh
Freese to Saban. Hear me on that that no, not
at all. But I will say Nick Saban walked away
(29:19):
not because he was done, but because college football is
a circus. And if you're someone and I know that
Hugh Fries had this attitude, I'm not comparing them to
Saban as far as I'm talking about as a successful
in the other era. Well, what I was saying is
I know that Hugh Freese was the kind of person
as Saban was and as others were. They wanted to
(29:41):
develop players, have an impact on that player's life for
the rest of their life and what kind of men
they will become. And we know this for a fact
that once Saban's wife came to him and said, I've
talked to the mamas for the first time, trying to
reassure them that we're going to help their sons become
better men, and they don't care about that. They want
(30:02):
to know how much we're gonna pay them. And that's
when the Sabans exited the system. So I think if
you're a coach that you desire to invest in players
and you really want to be like a mentor in
their life, that air is over. So sadly, hopefully we
can find other ways to do that for young men,
but coaches are kind of being removed from that role
(30:24):
because if I'm talking to a little little little little
babyface that you know, was making more nearly as much
money as you know, some some entry level professional players
and more than some professional players. And I've got to
deal with him. And if I make little little pooh
bite poo bear mad, he just gonna leave and go
(30:44):
somewhere else. Yeah, and everybody else, then everybody's gonna and
everybody's gonna fire me because it may play somewhere else. Yeah,
you're gonna, y'all, y'all think, y'all think back into Texas
A and M. Come on, man, I couldn't coach in
that vert. No, no way of course they if they
paid me what they're paying them. Maybe I tried.
Speaker 5 (31:02):
Yeah, oh shere, Well, y'all remember what we were saying
about Texas A and M's buy out to Jimbo Fisher.
Oh my gosh, I can't believe now. With L Mike Elko,
it's like, boy, it was a good decision. Yeah, you know,
look at what he's done.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
You know. So it's it's you never really know.
Speaker 5 (31:15):
I mean, of course, it's all about the QB and
all that, and well you've heard all that, but it's
it's it's tough and it's hard to it's hard to say, hey,
this is work.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
This works.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
I mean because Mike Elko going to Texas A and
m we were all like, huh, that's interesting.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
Yeah, and it's working. And what hurt Fisher back in
the day when it mattered on your recruiting class, you
couldn't quite buy him yet he always had the number
one recruiting class, but you didn't see it on the field.
You didn't and that's what costs. Yeah. Well, what I
would say when people do this culture thing, I would
think l s u as you just wanted out speedy. Correctly,
you had the culture guy, but as soon as he
(31:51):
lost you fired him too. Yeah, right about culture, lose
in and coche so and I would ask Auburn fans
when was the last time Auburn had a co which
had understood the Auburn culture? Who was that? And what
does that even mean? Yeah? Was it tubble Was it Tubraville?
I mean they tried to see it one time before
(32:11):
that was the train I remember all that. Yeah, but
Hellebleville gave you the most stability. But then you know things.
I don't eve remember why Terbraville was fired, but but
it was it maus On. But then I remember I
complained about that. I've never seen Auburn fans get it,
get on and off the bus quite like they do
(32:32):
the ghost bus. Yeah, they get on it and they
ride a little while and they get excited to get
back off of it.
Speaker 7 (32:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Like I said, my son played at Auburn for four years.
Inside four years, four tiny years. The slogan went from
all into it's a new day and four years. Yeah, okay,
Tarborville's last time.
Speaker 8 (32:50):
Oh yeah, Tuberville's last season was he was five and seven?
Speaker 2 (32:55):
Yeah, ten year run. Yeah, you know, I'm just trying
to find who this guy and understands Auburn cultures. I
just think it's Alway first saying personality, of course you win,
but who will we love that? But who was this Pat?
Probably Pat dies, That's what I say. Is that the
last one? I guess, So you're probably right. I don't
know what about Saban.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
This is the Rick Burges's show in the world that
embraces mediocrity. They are thriving, the Rick Busch's Show.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
Hey America, welcome back. Thanks so we enjoyed our three
day weekends. You'll got updates from that coming up. We'll
get your phone calls in gotta, hey, birde here, we'll
look at So I did hear this on pretty good authority,
pretty authority. I mean, I feel pretty strong about my
source here. Uh Saban was going to Auburn, but Auburn's
(33:59):
decided he's not an Auburn man doesn't understand the culture,
so so he is a but he they have they
have rejected his request to be there because you know,
they got to bring somebody to understands the culture. Uh So.
Uh So anyway, hey, so we'll see how all these
job searches go. By the way, have You're not gonna
believe how put out I am with this one thing.
(34:22):
And I guess it's is it? Is it? Rick Scott
out of Texas? Is that right? I saw over the
weekend you at the time, you know, Babylon B was
was having a blast. You know, it makes you feel
good when you realize that we're not alone. It really
bothers lots of people. I mean, something is national worldwide
as Babylon B their headline over the weekend, government once
(34:45):
again cast nation into four thirty pm darkness. So I
saw Rick Scott out there, this is gonna be.
Speaker 9 (34:52):
The last time we're gonna do.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
How about they getting me again? I'm not paying at listen,
I got nothing against Rick Scott. Don't don't, don't, don't
misunderstand me. It bothered me so much. This is a
like a an ex post that's going now to the
whole country. I commented on it. That's how mad I am.
I clicked on that. I said, no, no more. I said,
either either either solve this or shut up. I'm sick
(35:18):
and tired of politicians coming out, whether it be republican democrat.
I don't care who you are. I don't want to
hear anything else about promises about about stopping changing from
daylight saving time, uh and and back to the standard time.
I don't want to hear it anymore. Y'all go do it,
(35:40):
and then then y'all can tell me you did it right.
I don't want I'm not gonna be taking down this. Look.
I mean you you're you're that, you're that woman that
keeps you know. You're a temptress is what you are.
And I'm done with it. No more tempting. Okay, I'm
done with it. I don't want to hear it anymore.
Can you believe? I commented on like a national post.
I said that, no more of this, no more of this.
(36:01):
Two things I commented on over the weekend. I can't
live I commented on I commented on that. And I
commented on the fact that Disney's just trying to get
everybody to buy Disney programming directly from them. That's it.
Oh yeah, And so I don't know why. I don't
know why. Two things I commented on nationally this weekend.
I don't even know why I do it. But how
about this. I got so mad when I saw Rick
Scott with his little speech. I got so mad. I
(36:22):
said it again. I said, I'm so sick of here
it is. I'm so sick of it. We all met a.
I don't We're not gonna We're not gonna fall forward anymore. No,
I got clocks in here in this studio. They're supposed
to automatically change. Of course they haven't. I meant that
it was just a nightmare.
Speaker 5 (36:37):
There's always a there's like two or three in my life,
and I have to manually change it.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
I always forget so so anyway, so I'm done with it.
I've done it. And last night was the first night
like we had sharing iro on normal schedule. We're back
from Atlanta. We've been to the concert, went to see Brooks.
I saw our daughter in law. That was a nice
little bonus. She ended up being in Atlanta, not in
the New York for seeing her parents, so we that
that timed out perfectly. But anyway, and and so we
(37:05):
were on normal schedule when we got back home yesterday.
And as far as that's the first time we since
the we going back to standard time, because you didn't
really notice it in the middle, you know, going to
the concert and all that, you really didn't notice it.
I noticed it yesterday. Sharon and I looked around at
each other and I was like, well, I'm on going
to bed. She goes, it's five thirty. Yeah, I said
five thirty. And she goes, it's five thirty bad. Yeah,
(37:28):
I said, it feels like it's nine o'clock at night.
Uh so so anywhere.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
Yeah, we we were very similar last night. I was like, whew,
well we've had a full day. I am worn out,
and it was like six o two pm Central that, well,
it's a little early.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
We go for a walk. I guess I got that wrong, man.
That's head on out. Time of bed is the walk
into darkness? Yeah, so who is it that Rick Scout?
Whoever this guy is? Is that who the guy's comment
on it? It's a Florida guy, right, yeah, okay, yeah, Senator,
I don't want to hear. Look, I got a name
last time, right, I got nothing. I'm not listening anymore.
Like I said, they go, hey, it's a done deal.
(38:07):
I'm ignoring against Rick Scott. He's a fine fellow. He
fights a good fight. I don't want to hear about this. No,
I don't bring don't bring it up anymore.
Speaker 8 (38:17):
He's got his lock the clock bill and he's working
to lock the clock.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
We've heard this how many times? That's what I'm saying.
I'm so sick of it again. You know, this is
this is this is that alcoholic friend in your and
your family. It's an alcoholic friend or an alcoholic family member.
And you how many times they said, by the way,
I'm not drinking anymore, right, And and how about this?
I'm just done. Rick, You're a good guy. It's fine.
(38:44):
Do you look like Tom Landry? You do? But I
do want to say this, and that's not a bad look.
I like Tom Landry, but but this is Rick. I
love you, buddy, but just come back when it's done.
I don't want to hear that you're trying anymore. Okay,
over the last thirty something years, sick of it. Twice
the year, we have the same commentary, and I'm tired.
(39:05):
I'm not doing it anymore. Just vote for me. Whenever
I'm gonna do it, vote for me. I promise I'll
do it this time. No, you won't. Y'all won't do it.
As soon as soon as we're close, some California leb
or start crying about how it affects them, that'll be
the end of it.
Speaker 8 (39:22):
Yeah, this clock is we got to stop doing this, guys.
I was fifteen minutes early for church this weekend.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
We cannot this happened, I know, which would have meant
if it was on a regular schedule, you would have
been laid again. Right, But you know what, maybe maybe
that alone makes it worth it. No, I'm kidding. I
played drums in church side.
Speaker 5 (39:41):
No, but to your point, you get I got an
extra hours sleep. We were up early too, Yeah, moving around.
We're like, wow, when you to slow down a little bit?
Speaker 8 (39:49):
Kids early at seven thirty as I'm trying to get
them to bed because it's eight thirty to them.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
So they're so mad. Sure, they're so ill. Oh what
it does? The little babies just as enough to I
can't believe we and just declared it. You know we do.
Is January sixth all over in here. But look, we'll
get adjusted. But for the first week for all of us,
it's just feels weird. It's quite the adjustment four forty five.
Speaker 10 (40:14):
It'll be.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
I just hate the silliness of it. I can adjust
to it. I just think it's stupid. Oh yeah, I
just think it's stupid.
Speaker 5 (40:20):
Jase's in Japan. They don't recognize it. So hey with
the easy one for me.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
On top of the hour, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
Let's talk about sending a kid off to college. Hey
you've seen that, have you? Have you seen that receipt?
That's a doozy. It's a major investment. So one of
the things that we have seen far too many times,
far too many times. I've gone out, I've made this investment.
I've spent all this money at an institution that has
(40:52):
taken my kid and turned them into some person that
has now rejected everything that we hold dear, So you
need to do your homework on what kind of institution
you're sending your kid to. Don't worry, Rick, I'm just
sending my kid to a Christian college. Oh are you well?
I take a look. That label may not mean anything.
(41:13):

Burchard Show.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
Hey we're back, thanks for being with us today. Guys
off of three day Weekendspeining and Greg and Adler all
here today. Hope you enjoyed some of the more memorable
hours of the first year of the show yesterday. A
little best of action coming up later. The Vox seats
will join us, looking forward to seeing them meeting them
(42:53):
in a burgess ball battle. All still to come on
today's new shows. Learned a little something by the way
from the archive people, the people who live in the
archive world. They were thrown by the best of you.
Shoud I had somebody said, hey, man, I mean, look,
(43:14):
I got to have the show every day. I mean
all I'm getting the best of And I said that's
cause we're not there. Yeah, that's because that's the best
of show. And he said, I apologize for being a bill. Yeah,
he said, those of us that live in the past,
this affects us. We don't know anything other than what
the archives say.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
I had buddies texting me one liners from something we
were talking about, and I'm like, we're not We're not.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Like, we're not there. I'll give you an example coming
up here in a little while. But I do want
to say this what I didn't understand about the archive person.
If you catch the show every day on your own time.
We're telling you on Friday's archive that we're not going
to be here Monday. How'd that throw you?
Speaker 11 (43:49):
So?
Speaker 2 (43:50):
Anyway? I have to throw that at Maybe he's behind
Maybe he hadn't hurt. Yeah maybe maybe so I don't know,
so all right, so I do want you to know this.
We do have an update on the monk Keys monkey
update from me. He's Mississippi. See this is why I
love our culture. Here's the quote from mama. It's my
baby versus the animal, A dangerous animal. Mississippi mother shoots
(44:13):
and kills escaped loud monkey. There it is. I love it.
I couldn't be prouder of my sister in Mississippi. A
Mississippi woman to telled the moments leading up to her
shooting and killing an escape monkey. She says she shot
and killed the monkey in her yard after hearing strange
(44:34):
noises and fearing her three year old child could be hurt. Yep,
so I believe it was her what I was reading.
It was her teenage son that said from one of
his kids, Hey, Mama, I think I saw a glimpse
of a monkey in the back. We got a monkey
in the yard and she was like, dude, I was
playing on the monkey bar. She went and got a
firearm and said, hold on. So, yeah, if you've been
(44:57):
keeping score at home, we had twenty one monkeys that
were still jumping on the bed still at the truck.
We had five that were killed in the escape. And
then we had three on the loose.
Speaker 8 (45:11):
And one fell down and broke his head right, and
you know what, the the dog, I said, no more
disease monkeys right jumping on the bed.
Speaker 2 (45:21):
Now. For some reason, we were told that these monkeys
were diseased but not dangerous.
Speaker 12 (45:25):
No.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
Then we were told they were aggressive, but we shouldn't
worry about them infecting anybody. So I've got a monkey
that's got disease that is aggressive, aggressive and could bite
or scratch humans, but I shouldn't worry about it. Yeah,
that's not a good comp They were sending us a
little mixed messages there. Yeah, Jessica Bond our hero today
Speedy said, as you said, heard unusual noises and bushes
(45:48):
near her home. She warned her children not to go outside.
Her son later heard the dog's barking. She saw the
monkey outside on the Lord's Day on the Lord's Day,
Sunday morning monkey Okay, so, she said her son could
not get a clear video of the animal. She got
(46:08):
on her phone, got her gun, called authorities. She backed
out of her driveway, saw the monkey on a nearby ben.
I guess a trash ben uh, and later on a
neighbor's porch. Before shooting it. Bond said she believed the
animal posed a threat to her children. I did what
any mother would do. Took him out. Took him out,
(46:30):
said she. She described the dead animal as having tattoos.
I guess that's how Oh the label tattoo, I guess.
Speaker 13 (46:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:41):
She said it was some sort of lab rat looking thing.
She said, I love animals, own several pets, but I
and I didn't want to kill it. But when it
becomes animal versus kid, I got to take the animal out. Yep. Yeah.
And she did the right call it.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
She called nine one one before stepping outside, and they said, hey,
keep an eye on it.
Speaker 2 (47:00):
Just can you watch it. We're headed that way. I
watched it. We can kill it. And she hesitated, and
she felt like it was about to get away, and
she's like, if if this thing gets away, uh, it
could posed me to the children. You know that outside
playing took two shots, knocked it down. Once it got
back up, she knocked it down again. I always take
that second shot, And she said she was surprised, surprised
(47:26):
that they didn't didn't bag the animal and disinfect the area. Yeah,
she said, they just picked the animal up from the
porch and dragged it to the truck. Hmm hmmm mm.
There's there's one more done. Do you want to hear?
Oh you have her? Yeah, absolutely, here's my hero. Come on,
I need this bad.
Speaker 14 (47:47):
I was sleeping for the most part. My son heard
the dolls barking because I had told him the night
before Saturday night that I was hearing noises in the bushes,
and I told him that it was strange and I said, y'all,
just don't go outside. I said, if you do, let
me know. So I guess he was alert and he
was aware about the noises. So when he heard heard
(48:09):
the dogs barking, he he looked out the window and
he told he called me and said, Ma, the dolls
outside barking at something. So I said, well, see what
it is. You know, I was still in bed and
I was getting out of the bed trying to get
my clothes. So he said, he said, ma, you like
a monkey. I said, I said, well to go, I said,
(48:32):
record it. I said make sure, because you know, so
we could have proof of it that it was in
our yard, because I didn't know if it was just
running past or you know, leaving or whatever. So he said,
I can't get a clear shot, he said, but man,
it's the monkey. So I said, oh snap, let me
give my let me get my phone, and let me
give me a gun and be called the police and stuff.
(48:54):
So when I come out, I got in my truck
and I begged up up down this road and I
stopped about right there, and he was on top of
that being right there, and he left from that being,
and WINNING jumped on the railing of that porch and.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
Set in my truck.
Speaker 14 (49:16):
And when I when I got out, I said, okay,
you know, do I sit here and wait for it
to run away onto somebody else yard? Have a three
year old, and you know what if it come back out,
you know, had in the woods and come back out
and and try to tack her later on, and you
(49:37):
know she.
Speaker 2 (49:37):
Can't defend herself from a wow.
Speaker 14 (49:41):
All it tastes a little scratch for her, And we
don't know what these monkeys have because one minute they
have this and then the next minute too Lane is
saying they don't have anything. So you know, I'm not
going to take my chances with my baby versus a
(50:02):
fake the animal.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
Nice. Thank you Jessica Bond doing it for.
Speaker 14 (50:08):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
Thank you Jessica. And you know what she said to
the authorities, get out here and find the rest of
these monkeys before I take them all out. Look at
the words will get out. They better not mess with
Jessica games.
Speaker 8 (50:21):
You how people seem very nice and like calm and
polished even, but then you've noticed that like a tattoo
on them, and you're like, oh, there's a little bit
more to this story. I think that applies to Jessica Bonds.
And you'll see her hand tattoo. Okay, so on on
her hand it's like bones, like skeleton bones, but also
(50:45):
a rose. It's like, you know, like getting that trade.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
So he's like beauty and the beast kind of scenario,
don't you hands. I may be a rose, but I
got thorns. Yeah, I gotta sound my baby, you get doors, right,
that's right. I look like I have a skeleton hand
all the time. Look, I'm a woman like as woman
can be. But if I have to kill a monkey
(51:11):
from my children, I will. That's right, like the hand
of the grimery for coming out and getting you. M
it's good for her. Yep, good job, Jessica, proud of you.
One down, one down, two left. Twenty one had been
taking away. Five killed, now six killed, two remains. There's
still two monkeys of these Mississippi.
Speaker 10 (51:33):
All right.
Speaker 2 (51:33):
I bet they be in Alabama by now.
Speaker 6 (51:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (51:36):
They can't read signs, probably not. You know what, maybe
we'll be right attacking.
Speaker 1 (51:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, God fearing and America
loving the Rick.
Speaker 2 (52:00):
But we're back America. Thanks for being with us. So
we've so Mississippi monkey updates. We know thanks to Jessica Bond,
another monkey has been shot. Uh, so we're down. We
(52:21):
think the two monkeys. I see some textures claiming another
one was shot too. I have not heard that. I
haven't heard that. You may be talking about the same
thing we're talking about about, Jessica Bond, So I don't know.
So so there you go. I know somebody text it.
Oh yeah, well you're gonna learn to listen of the
text nation. I've watched you not trust them a couple
of times in it's cost Well, all right, let me
(52:42):
get you need more than one. Okay, I'm just telling you.
We haven't heard from this bunch yet animal people about
these monkeys being shot. I'm sure they're not happy. But
I promise you if I had to live in a
cage and have stuff run on me and test it,
I would rather be dead, absolutely So these monkeys are
actually probably a hundred. I'd rather you shoot me than
put me back in that cage and let y'all do
(53:03):
weird stuff, no doubt about it. Look how big it is, though,
y'all it's it's it's bigger than you like. That's who
said that's big. I don't want. I don't want that
on my porch. No, no think sitting on the porch.
You ever had them show your teeth? Their teeth they're bad,
they're bad. You don't biting into So uh, I'm thinking
about about Mississippi. Let y'all go down there have to people.
(53:27):
Maybe we can handle it. We we do have We
do have firearms and can travel. Speaking of speaking of, well,
somebody's angry with us. I mean angry mad? What real
(53:50):
mad Darlene is mad? Darlene's mad about it? Yep, I
mean mad, real man mad? Are you ready, Harley? I
tried for hours. I tried for hours. I never call.
I called because of you Rick giving out false information.
(54:14):
I called forty calls, no response. Y'all would not answer
your phone. And I called, and I called, Oh no,
forty You said cats aren't picked up. That's simply not true.
They're picked up all the time, taking to the local
no kill shelter. Sometimes they're fixed and released back to
(54:34):
their neighborhood, are left inside the shelter to be adopted.
I was frustrated at my forty calls and lack of response.
I'm not listening that important. I'm not listening anymore. I tried,
I tried for hours. What so then of course I responded,
and you know, because I'm always kind, we don't answer
(54:55):
calls throughout the entire show. I'm sorry. Next time, just
text or email text number is the same. We see
the text as they come in, and I would have
gotten the information. Yeah, oh yeah, and then take them
all to heart, all caps. I don't want to hear
back from you. I want you to correct your statement
(55:17):
that cats. What's you mad about that cats aren't picked up?
They absolutely are picked up. Take responsibility for false information. Please,
the cats are picked up. It's apparently a big deal. Now,
I did hear it was one of the cities I
believe when we were Investidavia or Mountain Brook at one
(55:38):
point they were capturing feral cats and like saying, Newton
them and then releasing them back to the wild. Yeah. Thanks,
Now we're still dealing with them again, so they do
release them back, and she did say that in her information.
So I just want to with this count as correcting it.
I want to tell Darlene that I'm sorry when I
tried to have cats picked up years ago to Dordy
(55:59):
sometimes go yeah years for hours for years. Years ago.
Years ago, I tried to have a bunch of feral
cats picked up, and I was told by animal control
that they're free romance. So you you were going by
what you were I was only going to buy my experience.
So that, Darlene, I'm so sorry. False info is what
you're doing, and I'm correcting it. You think she's listening
(56:21):
even though she said she's gonna stop. Well, I was
hoping she would listen one more time. She probably isn't
because I gave another response, Oh you did? Can I
ask you ready for it? Yes? Yes, I want it.
You're gonna love it? Are you ready? Yeah, Darlene, I'm
so sorry. Normally I capture them and drop them off
at the local Chinese restaurant.
Speaker 10 (56:40):
You did not.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
Forty times.
Speaker 11 (56:47):
Let me do this.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
What's so offensive? That's what I normally do? What's so
efficient that she's this? Man? Now, if you said that statement,
I see one, and that's a good one. Now that
was my last statement because she became on recent and
I tried to be nice and say, well, if you
just act to me, I would have seen it, and
I will correct that. But and I've corrected the false
room and then when she came back with the I
don't want to hear from you, misinformation cat person. But
(57:10):
let me ask you this correct saying that cats or
not called and you're wrong about it? Is it that
big a deal? I mean, why are you that mad
about it? I mean, what did what did that change?
Speaker 7 (57:23):
Well?
Speaker 2 (57:23):
Rick's wrong. They actually do picked the okay, I don't.
I don't know about it. And she loved cats. Well,
apparently whether they're picked up, and let off the fact
you're referring to that they're not picked up. How's that offensive?
You may be incorrect, right, but I wouldn't be offended
by it, right right? Where's the anger? Well, I don't
know what the anger's about the Chinese restaurant. I think
I think I know where that anger. No, No, that
(57:45):
was my last statement. That was after I found her
to be unreasonable. You know, when you commit you comment.
I don't think she's a catwoman.
Speaker 8 (57:51):
I think she's a cat lady, because if she was
a catwoman, like a superhero, so true.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
For Darling the cat lady. I'm sorry. I thought I
was told I was told they were free roaming. Apparently
you can get a straight cat picked up. I bet you.
In fact, you got that wrong. It's so offensive you
must forty calls and call for hours, raise your hands
and oh, absolutely on the spot, no matter where they're territory. Yeah, praying.
(58:19):
So that's so. I'm sorry about that, and I want
to correct that, and yeah, please do rick. My goodness,
that false information is leading to some really bad things.
And I'm not telling people to do what I do.
I'm just so No, you're not do. I just wanted
Darlene to know what I do. Yeah, and she loved
and she loved that. I bet that went over really good.
I couldn't have. I wish you'd come out with that version.
If we'd have known she was that unreading, you could
(58:41):
have done it right. I tried the nice approach and
it only got and I see, you know, and that's
not and what I did is all right, that's not
the way to go. I should have just simply sent back,
As my wife has told me so many times, what
is the thing about you had to be you have
to be a smart uncle bat Well. And I said, well, honestly, baby,
I've I've done this. This is what I'm make a
(59:01):
living at. It's hard to turn it off. I mean,
that's like asking Paul McCartney why he's still touring to
eighty three. He wants to sing so so, I mean,
they don't money. Please text us cat lady if you're listening. No,
I just everything's fine. I think she's wrong, Rick, I thought,
I don't think that can and I put underneath myself.
I put I put underneath my statement. You know a
(59:22):
little ha ha, you know that I'm just killing at
saved it. She's mad about you have misinformation just about
whether they're caught or not. Well, I bet that center
right over the edge. Well I don't, and I can
just be if I can just be honest. I don't
think she was mad, very nice. She wouldn't. She could
(59:42):
have been nicer. But Rick, I want to hear but Rick,
but we're supposed to show people the way we wish
they would treat us. And I tried that for one round. Yeah,
give them one round. I know you actually do you
know me? And this is just be honest. Most people
live by three strikes, you're out. I pretty much live
by one. Yeah, which is did she say? She called
forty times the day we mentioned it, for hours the
(01:00:04):
day we mentioned and would not we would not tell,
not on best of day, right when nobody? No, no, no, god,
Well no, this was I got Oh she said? She
said she called and called and called and called, and
we don't answer our phone. No, we normally don't just
pick it up. How many people she's called called called? Oh?
There we go. So so, Darlene, I corrected the information.
(01:00:27):
Feral cats Apparently they will pick them up. So I
apologize that I said otherwise and that was just based
on my own experience. And I haven't stayed updated. I
admit that I became a no pet person, so I
haven't been updated on the waves of strays and you are, Darlene,
and I apologize. We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (01:00:47):

guy format for you. So some of the gold you've
been trying to hang on to kind of been putting

you have you started on this ship? What are you
waiting on? I mean, how many more people? I mean
I've been talking about this for years, all the way
back in the Rick and Bubba days, and now on
the new show. Here's a Lindsey. She's out of Georgia.
(01:03:25):
She said, Hey, love the new show and think he
keeps only getting better. Thanks for that. Something else getting
better's me thanks to relief Factor. I've been playing on
the floor of my grandson, been lifting the laundry basket
with ease, working in my garden. Again. None of that
was possible before relief Factor birde So thank you so much.
(01:03:46):
It's like it's like getting a new lease on life
without worried about side effects and over the counter stuff.
They certainly play a role, but they're not designed to
be taken every day, and they're limited to what they
can do. But relief Factor is all natural. So go

issue that may be beyond inflammation. So so but get
yours right now by going to relief Factor dot com.
Are the sponsors button at Rick Burgess Show dot com. Hey,
this is another person that you know. We always talk
(01:04:28):
about the archive people and the life they live, and
we mentioned that earlier on the program. See this. This
is someone that says, well, this is the reason why.
And this person's given out a warning said I want
to give some insight on why podcast listeners do not
all caps miss any of the show. Okay, you have
always seemed amazed that we get backlogged, but we will
(01:04:50):
not move forward to the current show. I am amazed
by that. Do you agree. Well, here's a prime example
of why you cannot all caps miss a single minute.
This past Thursday, ten thirty October thirtieth, I was listening
to the show from the seventeenth and I had to
pause the show because I was listening at work. Somehow,
(01:05:13):
when I tried something to do something else on my phone,
my finger slid the slider on the show progress and
fast forwarded to the end. I didn't feel like going
back and figuring all that out. I started thinking, like
you guys talk about, you know, is there a reason
I shouldn't just go on? Let the next show play. Well,
(01:05:35):
here's the problem. When the next show on my list started,
here's the first thing I hear something about how Speedy
licked Honey off the parking lot. Now, and now I
realize what are they talking about? Was so obviously fast
forwarding and catching up without getting through the backlog is
not a good idea. I had to go back and
(01:05:56):
now watch the YouTube show from the seventeenth so I
could see what a new world y'are talking about. But
at least that was available.
Speaker 7 (01:06:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
Yeah, Now, now I hope you understand why us backlog
podcast listeners just need to move at our own pace.
We can't miss a second, we can't move forward. Wow,
we keep the craziness coming. Love the show. Okay, so
I understand. I thought he was good. Yeah, and then
and that was there you go. So that that's a problem.
(01:06:25):
So other things that we need to discuss today. We've
hit college football pretty good. We kint updated you on that,
so we worked that out. We also have been talking
a little bit about the weekend. One of the things
I did want to talk about because I wanted to
prepare Speedy for this is the trip to the to
(01:06:48):
the Paul McCartney. Okay, concert. I'll kind of weigh in
on this. Do you want me to just get right
to the thing that I want you to to deal with.
What do you mean you've been You've been. You've been
to State Farm Arena lately and eating at the concessions
now mm hmm, okay, so when we this is where
(01:07:10):
you tried to eat at the hotel and that work out.
Let me say, let me tell you I live I
lived my life following the five piece. Prior planning prevents
poor performance. Now, if I could get the whole world
on page on the same page with me, that'd be
great good luck, Okay, because all I can do is
call the people that should have the answers, and if
(01:07:32):
they don't, there's there's only so much research I can
do and and eat, no matter how many times. And
I love my wife so much. We had such a
great weekend together. We we had fun, fun, fun, uh.
We We went and got to see some of our kids,
We got to see our daughter in law. We went
to the farm a little while, went to Atlanta to
(01:07:52):
the show. We had a great date, had a good
day yesterday together, working our way back home. Okay, but
I can't she I think she's understanding because she always says,
let's try to go do this and you just not
worry about how inefficient everybody is. Let's let's know. She said,
just can you not just come along for the ride?
(01:08:13):
And she even said, how about this, I'll drive, so
you won't do the commentary about that. Nobody knows how
to drive. You know, what?
Speaker 15 (01:08:21):
What what?
Speaker 10 (01:08:21):
What?
Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
What in the world was Atlanta thinking? Who built this city?
You know, you were trying to redesign the highway system.
She said, let's just let's just ease our way and
can any way you can just ride along and enjoy
going to Atlanta, seeing our son, going to the concert,
(01:08:42):
and just be along for the ride. And I said, well,
I'll try so so we we It's pretty good till
we get you know, because I had already gone super
efficient and I had not been in a concert in
a long time, thought I may never go to another one. Yeah,
(01:09:03):
don't really desire to go to him. And she got
on me about that. Can can you drop the attitude
if you don't want to go to the concert? And
I said, yes, I will. She goes, We're going to
see She goes, there's a lot of people you could
argue against no matter how you feel about style of music.
Whatever she goes, Do you agree you would have a
hard time making a case that Paul McCartney isn't a
(01:09:27):
musical icon. Is he the most iconic living artist currently
alive that can do it? They can do a concert
in that category, They can do a concert. Yeah. And
I said that. I said, okay, you got me. She
goes Rick. He was in the Beatles, main guy, the
(01:09:48):
top two Beatle. Okay, And I said, I got you.
She's not going to see Ringo. We're going to see
Paul McCartney. Got it, had a real successful career outside
of the Beatles, major success. Is you've I know you've
done your research And I said, I have. Is he
not the wealthiest most valuable member of the band dead
or alive? And I said he is. He's worth one
(01:10:10):
point two billion. What yes? And by the way, the
John Lennon Lennon states still number two at eight hundred million.
But anyway, so so she said, and all indications are
he's not gonna be embarrassing. I think he pulls this off.
I said, he's eighty three. She said, can you let
eighty three go? I said, I will. I said, I
(01:10:32):
just don't want it to be something uncomfortable, and she goes,
I think we're good. I read reviews on it, I
read set list. You know, there's a lot of parameters
for you. I mean and so so so I book
have to make an adjustment here. I book a I
book a hotel, I do all my research. That is
a seven minute walk to the arena. Okay, So I'm on,
(01:10:55):
I'm on park. I know it's gonna be expensive. That's fine.
They're gonna put my car in their garage. I'm gonna
meet Mark and Land Garnett. They're staying at the same
hotel too. Didn't know that till later. But they're gonna
park their car there, we're gonna have dinner at the hotel.
We're gonna walk to the arena. Sounds like a fun night,
sounds great. Hotel is downtown because that's where their rima
(01:11:18):
is downtown. As you know, downtown's are not really designed
for parking. They're not designed for easy go. They're not
designed like they'll put a hotel there, but you just
have to go on the front of it. And you're like,
so where do I put my car? Well, even waiting
for it to be parked, and we hit the time
because we'd visitor with our son. We hit about our
(01:11:42):
arrival was about fourish. You check in is three point thirty.
So now and of course hadn't rained in forever. It
starts raining, no, you know, and I'm like, okay, so
now that that might affect the walk now and everything.
Now we're getting rain. So when we get there, lots
(01:12:03):
of people are trying to drop their car to check
into the hotel. And now we're all trapped and we
can't get under the little overhang, and there's not a
lot of room. Maybe two cars four total, two here
too here for valet parking. And once you're a car
three in either line, you're in traffic. Okay, So that
(01:12:24):
leads to the honking. That leads to everybody get out
of the way. I'm trying to get in our hotel.
We we got to get up here for this guy.
Of course I have to get out. She goes, so
you already getting out? I said, I got to find
out what's going on. I go up to the valet person.
I said, hey, we're backing up and that's trying to
fix and he goes, I know, we got a lot
of people coming in at the same time. If you'll
(01:12:45):
just be patient with me, I said, well, we're in
traffic here, I mean people honking at us. He was
telling who to be patient to. And then I like,
he's gonna do anything. I say, y'all, y'all know we
got a concert just down two blocks down. I've heard
a lot of people checking in. You got one ballet,
you're out here And he looked at me like, I'm
(01:13:06):
not in charge of that, and I'm like, yeah, but
how can they leave you out here like this? So
I start trying to park cars, which you tells me
I can't and so so so then they frown on that.
Sure you don't work here. Let me tell you something.
The woman that I told to toss me her fob
didn't care for it. I said, I'll move this one.
He goes, sir, you can't. You can't do that, and
(01:13:27):
you're not stuff. And then then then Sherry calls me
on my phone. I'll get it in my block. She goes,
are you parking cars? And I said, I'm trying to
get these cars out the way where you can pull in.
So so he and then I was told under no
uncertain terms that I held with the cars, so there
was some liability things. So we'll come back and I'll
(01:13:49):
tell you what what. I'm glad you were being paid.
What happened, I'm not. It's not I've done well to
this point.
Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
This is the Rick Burgess show. He doesn't have OCD.
He just likes things to be a certain way.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Rick Burgess openly admitting, as I told you guys years ago,
back in the Rick and Bubba days, my family once
did a Bible study together, or attempted to do on
the Fruits of the Spirit. We had an argument over
who was the most gentle, and we all agreed it
was taking too long. So anyway, so we're working on it. Sanctification.
(01:14:34):
Thank you for helping me, brothers and sisters. So we're
trying to get into the hotel. Now. Keep in my eye.
I've called the hotel for two weeks letting them know
that Paul McCartney's coming. Okay, they didn't hear about it.
They don't know, and they don't have funds in Atlanta.
I have suggested they have more people to part cars,
and I've suggested the restaurant needs to be ready, and
they didn't listen. And they didn't listen. And keep in mind,
(01:14:55):
those are just bearded guys who, by the ways, is
a fixer those of you, by the way, and he
did tonight. So I'm not want to get into that.
But those of you out there that have never been
to Atlanta, if you've never experienced Atlanta, Greg and I
were discussing the Break. Atlanta is a city that that
that dares you to try to go there and not
be hassled. It'll it makes fun of people that you
(01:15:19):
think you've been hassled before. You think, oh, you maneuvered
a few cities, you have been here, No I have not. Well,
we're about to turn your life upside down, everything from
traffic to yeah whatever. Now keep in mind that this
hotel and the hotels in this area of downtown Atlanta.
You know I told you that this in the Break.
You know what one of their promotions is, come here,
(01:15:39):
We're close to everything. Well, yeah, if you're close to
everything that's it, then then shouldn't you be prepared that
lots of people will go. That sounds good to me.
That's the deal I made with you. I made that
deal with you. Oh you are close to everything, You're right?
I should stay with you. But I bet a lot
of people feel that way, you know, And it means
lots of going to show. In Atlanta, they a lot
(01:16:01):
of events, everything from the super Bowl, a lot of
events swift. So how can we have one person parking
cars right at checkout time with a big event just
down the street. And I'm sure it's not the only
big event there land there's multiples, all that, all kinds.
And then and then the restaurant that told me they
don't do reservations, and I wouldn't need one. It wouldn't
(01:16:21):
be any big deal to have a party of four
at five point thirty. Not an issue. I could feel it.
And we got in and we finally. So one time,
Sherry is driving the car around because I'm helping, trying
to help park cars, and she comes back around in line. Listen.
We go around the place one more time, honey, listen,
I got it. Let me tell you what's funny. She
comes back around as you think she's in line again,
(01:16:42):
I said, baby, coming up, I got it cleared out,
And the guys look at me, going sir, and I said, no, no,
I'm holding the spiffer coming up. But I got it.
Cleared out, and she goes, I'm in the line. Rick.
I look, I said, baby, you're sitting behind parked cars.
Those cars are parked on the side of the road.
Come on down, come around. She goes, I'm gonna get
in line because you're trying to make I said, babe,
that's not the line. Those are park called one at them.
Come on around, and so U matter of fact, I
(01:17:04):
park two of them. So so anyway, so so she
comes around. We unload as soon as I get in.
She goes, can we check in before you go over
to the restaurant. I said, I don't like that look
over there. But they're not ready. No, they're not ready.
They're not ready. Activity then the gard nets tell us
they've run into traffic trying to get there because they're
coming from Birmingham. No shock there on I twenty, you
(01:17:26):
know better on this death race two thousand, Oh my god.
And so they said we're probably gonna be five forty
five and I said, no, I'll be I'll be seated
at five point thirty. And uh and I said, babe,
would party of four in there? I said, it just
doesn't look ready and uh. And so we were gonna
know hassel Rick wanted to meet at the hotel, leave
our cars at the hotel, eat at the hotel, walk
(01:17:47):
to the venue. Of course, Now it's rain, good plan
when you can't run. So we got a couple of umbrellas.
We're gonna run. And then I start claiming that they
that they. I said, well, you just need to give
that umbrella up. I said, just just give those away
when we get to the arena, said they. Then we
ain't going to see with them umbrellas. She goes, they're
not going to take my umbrellas. They think people will
bring umbrellas. I said, but I'm just gonna tell you
I don't know about them umbrellas. Now you want us
(01:18:09):
to walk in the rain to the seven minute walk
to the to the arena in the rain without umbrellas,
I said, umbrellas are a hassle and uh And She's like, no,
we're gonna We're gonna take the umbrellas. So if it's raining,
and I said, okay, so sure enough, sure enough, we
uh we we get down. I'm standing down trying to
(01:18:29):
get us a table, and the garden nets walk in
the lobby and I said, nobody's even said hello. Another
couple in front of me. She goes, I hadn't talked
to anybody. I see one server one and I look
over and there's a bar over to the left. There's
two bartenders. They're they're just taking care of people that
are they're saddling up to the bar. And I see
the tables where we're supposed to eat, and I just
(01:18:50):
see one overwhelmed person who's now having to be hostess,
seating everybody. They don't take reservations. They told me that
for two weeks. And it's everything's full except a ten top.
And I said, and and now these people don't like
that I'm taking over their lives because I now holler
at the person that will all sit as the ten
(01:19:12):
top and he goes, excuse me, I said yeah, and
I said, I said, I said, well, there's no other
for there's no other option but you there's only four
of us valet, y'all can y'all can sit? To me,
you were rassed our valet earlier. The boy looked at
me and she said, do you have my follow But anyway,
so so I said, I said, we'll all sits the
ten top and and and the guy goes okay, and
(01:19:34):
so so I said, come on, let's just go over
and said that it's only table table available. Where's the menu,
give me the menu, right, and what we got to do?
Get a menu? And so uh and and so then
the woman comes over and she says, I just want
you to know that we've put a stop on the kitchen.
I said, I'm sorry. She said, we put a stop
on the kitchen. We mean stop, never heard of that.
(01:19:55):
She goes, she goes, we have to catch up, and
she's the only person and there's probably I would say
it's not a giant restaurant, but I would say there's
probably twenty people seated, you know, easily. And uh. And
so she's and she's just looking at me, and I'm like,
what what do you mean? She says, we all really can't.
(01:20:16):
I'm not gonna take your order for probably another twenty
twenty five minutes. Take the order. And then I said,
that's it. And so I said, guys, we got to go.
We got to make a move. I said, we're out,
ten top out, ten tops out, and here's your menu,
so you can come back. So then we all agree,
where's my car? We will now go. We will now go,
and uh, we will we will eat at the concessions. Well,
(01:20:40):
we will get over there once they let us in,
we'll eat at the concession. Of course I've already announced.
Let me see everybody's purse size, and of course ling
Guarnett said, wow, So I said, this is be clear.
They still get into that. Now you gain events, your
purse is too big, you know what I mean a
lot of people have to deal with that. And I've
seen it, I've experience. And Gardner it looked at me
(01:21:01):
and he goes, will you be taking over the line
to get into the ring? I said absolutely, because I'm
going to tell you it's not gonna be eficient. You
know that to me too. Why don't we want to
mob everybody at the door. Let's let's let body start
free flowing. And uh so we we start the walk.
It rained a little bit enough that that Sherry went
(01:21:22):
with umbrella, but it wasn't like pouring. But then as
we got there, it started coming on down. As we're
all standing outside. Of course they don't have doors of them.
Uh look it's raining. There's a mob out open, hungry, wet,
so hungry, starting to get wet.
Speaker 4 (01:21:41):
And then.
Speaker 2 (01:21:45):
What what the price of chicken fingers. When I tell
you this price, you will not believe it. You will
not believe it. Was there a touch of t s
a to get in like you got to empty everything out. Yeah,
there was a lot, a lot of talk. Of course,
I got that handled, took that over.
Speaker 1 (01:22:01):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 16 (01:22:11):
Thanks go John.
Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
It's time for the Rick Bersons Show. We're broadcasting from
the Real World America. Buckle up. Are you already a
brand new hour? Speedy greg Ander all here new show.
(01:22:34):
Hope you enjoyed yesterday's best hours of the year are
some of them?
Speaker 11 (01:22:39):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
And now we're back live. Thanks for being with us.
Covered a lot already if you're just now joining us.
Real box seats coming up next hour, America. Say let's go.
Let's go America.
Speaker 9 (01:22:54):
Broadcasting from the Real World.
Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
Paul McCartney concert. We've been discussing it a little bit,
so I'll tell you this final thing and then we'll
get into a little bit of the review of the
actual concert. I thought I was done. I thought I
would not go to any more concerts, you know, unless
you know one of my kids are grandkids somehow ended
up playing in one. Did not really want to do
the concert scene, Sherry said, Rick, it's Paul McCartney. I had,
(01:23:20):
you know, love our friends, the Garnett's, hadn't got to
spend much time with them, so it was a fun
trip for us all to take together. Tied it into
going to see Brooks our Son who lives in Atlanta.
Even got to see my daughter in law, whose family
is from Atlanta too, she was actually home visiting them.
So it it was a wonderful, wonderful weekend. So we're
capping it off with the you know, the concert, and
(01:23:40):
then we got the next day and had breakfast with
our daughter in law and her mother, Stephanie, who is uh,
you know, follows what we do here on the show.
So so anyway, we were, we we got we got
to the arena, We got in. I tried to once
again work the line. I felt that the line had
some issues. The people working the line didn't agree with me.
(01:24:02):
But we we got in, got to see some folks
who listened to the show. Good to see some of
y'all in line. It was fun us cutting up together.
So we bust into now the arena and where our
first thing is, let's all hit the and of course
you know me the garden nets. They paused a little bit,
trying to be selective about what concession stand we were
going to. I pointed to the one that had no
(01:24:23):
line that we were first. I said, right there, But baby,
it's it's chicken fingers. How can they mess that up?
Let's just hit that. We' don't worry about doing any
Better's in the garden. It's like, oh, we don't want
chicken fingers. We think we might want pizza. All right,
well let's meet back it hat take let's meet. There
must have been an issue because they ended up with
some sort of sandwich. Let's go. Let's let's go over here.
So I get up there and I'm not thinking because
(01:24:45):
I'm just wanting to get something eat and I want
to get to my seat. Okay, uh so we're we're there.
I'm not even really paying attention. It's simple. There's people
holding boxes of chicken and fries. We'll take two of those.
Sherry said, I want to I want to coke. I said,
you know what, I think, I just want some water.
I need to hydrate.
Speaker 11 (01:25:04):
A lot.
Speaker 5 (01:25:05):
You've You've done traffic, you've valeied, You've tried to run
the hotel.
Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
At the restaurant, serve everybody you worn out. Well, the
next thing I've got to do. Next thing I've got
to do. The next thing I've got to do is
talk to Paul McCartney about let's get started on time.
Paul fifteen minutes late. But anyway, so yeah, I'm a rocker,
all right. So anyway, all right, so we clearly says eight,
(01:25:33):
but anyway, two minutes is not. I mean that says
you're Paul McCartney. You're eighty three? Were even? Are you
the youngest of us in our sixties? Let's get started? Yeah?
All right, So anyway, so I'm not I'm not really
paying attention, and all of a sudden it's like you.
It's like you appeared. Rick. Did you hear what they
(01:25:54):
just charged you for? Junr finger? And I looked at
Speedy and I said, no, Speedy, I wasn't listening, and uh,
I just want to get seated. You need to hear this.
Chicken fingers? How many? How many? How many fingers come out? Three?
Three chicken fingers? They are big chicken fingers are big
chicken at least three big ones might have been four,
three or four laying on top of fries in a box. Okay,
(01:26:19):
got it, got it there, dit coke? Okay, bottle of water,
that's it. Sixty one dollars, shut up? Wait sixty one?
And I looked. I said, thirty bucks for a box
of fries of chicken fingers? Are you kidding me?
Speaker 10 (01:26:37):
Good night?
Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
Sixty one?
Speaker 14 (01:26:41):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:26:42):
And I know they weren't hand battered. They were then
pre found. Paul, let me tell you this when that's
sixty one dollars plus tip, because of course I don't
know why who I'm tipping. There's hand me a box once?
Who you tip? Once? That went through? It's it was
so absurd that was tied to chicken fingers. American Express
(01:27:02):
called me. They thought somebody stole my car. They're trying
to trick us. So somebody just spent sixty one dollars
on chicken. That can't beat you, but anyway, sixty one
dollars for chicken fingers and fries. Wow.
Speaker 8 (01:27:23):
So so you had a bottle of water and a
diet coke and fries and chicken fingers and that came
to sixty one dollars correct?
Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
So how much was the the chicken fingers and fries
just on their own about probably. Well, I'm thinking that
bottle of water is probably six bucks. Yeah, they probably
hit me on the drink. She would think five or
six dollars thence you'll think yeah at least yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:27:47):
Eight, probably seven to eight bucks for her drink and
maybe six five six for you. Right, Yeah, I'm thinking
it probably just the food was fifty to fifty ts.
Speaker 2 (01:27:57):
I thought to myself, it's been a while since I've
been to a concert. But I will tell you, Greg
hit on it earlier. All this is tied to the
thing you have to understand is that and this is
the thing we don't understand when it comes to, you know,
voting for taxes and all this garbage we vote for
and city fees and and event fees and all that
we do around. Oh yeah, we're gonna get the man. Now,
(01:28:19):
the man's gonna make a profit. So what the man
does is all this garbage we tack on, they just
add that to the price. Yeah, yeah, you know, that's
why your t shirts is one hundred and four dollars.
Is because they're paying the venue with the venues they
charge them for, they're paying the city with the cities
hit them with. And ultimately we we we pay all
the taxes. Businesses don't. Yeah, they just push it on
(01:28:42):
to us.
Speaker 1 (01:28:42):
Wow, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:28:43):
And so just know that when you're voting for some
new fee, you're gonna pay for that fee every time
you use those facilities. Yeah. So anyway, of course, that
was a speech that I also was told was not necessary.
Of course, anyway, tickets got all the added fees. Oh
my goodness. Yeah. So we we go, we get to
our seats, we sit down, and and and we're ready
(01:29:06):
for the show. And I will tell you that that
I was. I was, I was, I was impressed. If
you take that, you gotta you gotta stay in the eighty. Now,
don't misunderstand. There was nothing in the show where I went. Man,
that's sad, okay, But I do want to be clear though.
(01:29:28):
Do you hear the age in his voice from time
to time? You actually do?
Speaker 11 (01:29:32):
You do?
Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
He's eighty three. I'm not talking about to the part
that you go, I'm bothered by it. Yeah, like we've
been seeing from now, he's got good hair, Fras, It's
not like Phil Collins. He comes out walking, he jumps
around a little bit, playing bass and singing. Listen, everything
he played Adler. He played bass obviously, he played guitar
(01:29:52):
acoustic and electric, played some lead runs which I'd never
seen him do. Nice uh, played ukulele, play mandolin, played keyboards,
and played the piano all right. I mean at eighty
three years did he do a drum solo? But I
heard he is a pretty god drummer. By yeah, I say,
he played on a lot of the records, so it
was very very cool. There were a little more effects
(01:30:15):
than I expected. But but you know, when you have
a packed house and watching him react, and I do
think Adler and I were discussing he doesn't play the
same set list every show. Garnett, of course did all
that research, and I start doing it too. I'm not
trying to say this is the case. But for my
personal preference, I think I got the best set list
(01:30:37):
I could have had. Yeah, I mean, because I know
his catalog. I started looking at the other shows. I
had not seen him do all the songs in the
same show that he did for Atlanta on Sunday night,
and I don't know what he did last night, but
on Sunday night we had a run where he did
Band on the Run live and Let Die Maybe I'm amazed.
(01:30:58):
Let it be hate you all in a row? Wow Wow,
And I'm like, why that's that right there? And we
got jet I'll tell you one one of my favorites.
I've already sent it to Greg that that probably was
one of my highlights of the night that I would
have never guessed is let me roll it by the
Wings by Wings. That's a fantastic song. And it's got
(01:31:20):
a really cool guitar and bass part in it and
the hook on the course. I mean, you just let
me roll that to you. I mean we we couldn't
get enough for that. We sing that like, so we
come back, what point do you get hungry again? I
never got hungry again because I realized to go back
and eat, we'll require second job. So I just I'm sorry,
(01:31:45):
I said, babe, I'm gonna have to go make an
appearance somewhere first to eat again. Maybe I'm amazed at
these prices. Maybe I'm amazed at the chicken thing. Right,
we'll come back, uh and uh, I hear with a
couple highlights, so we'll get your calls coming up.
Speaker 1 (01:32:01):
This is the Rick Burgess show themand who informed Dippin'
(01:32:25):
Dots that they were not, in fact the ice cream
of the future. Rick Burgess, thank.
Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
You America for being with us today. We have covered
quite a bit. Maybe you just joined us. Yes, we've
covered one of the monkeys has been killed in East
Mississippi by somebody's mama. We did talk about that earlier.
We've hit college football earlier in all the different vacancies,
(01:32:53):
what teams are doing, what we covered that earlier on
the program. We've hit an angry email from a woman
who said I put out false information about feral cats.
So if you've missed all that, catch it on the
daily archive, either on the YouTube channel or the podcast
channel on your own time. Be sure that you're following those.
(01:33:14):
You've got notifications engaged in et cetera. So finishing up
on Paul McCartney unless some of you bring it up
in phone sevments or whatever, because I did see some
folks there that listen to the show thinks had a
great time. I was very impressed by Paul McCartney at
eighty three, what he can still do. It was, I mean,
(01:33:37):
you think here, I mean this is a music icon.
I mean you're thinking, what a catalog, what a moment
he put on a great show. The musicians, of course,
were incredible, as you can imagine. Thought the stage, what
they did with the stage was really cool. So Adler
has just a little clip or two. I know that
we can't play much of it, but you need trouble,
(01:33:59):
you know that, Sherry and I and our friends of Garnett's.
I was just waiting on my moment to sing, Hey, Jude,
I mean, I thought, I can't practice. I've been practiced.
I can't wait for us to sing it. Here's a
little clip from the entire arena, hitting hitting the chorus,
so here here here it is from from from Yeah,
it's it's a what did so.
Speaker 12 (01:34:31):
All?
Speaker 11 (01:34:31):
Right? Here?
Speaker 13 (01:34:32):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:34:34):
You hear me right here? So that's that's that's pretty
that it was. It was a packed house, uh, and
the show was fantastic.
Speaker 11 (01:34:50):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:34:50):
There was even a time at the It was toward
the end and I'm trying to remember that song living
let Die right, No, No, I was gonna say one
more thing for I got today. There was a moment
and I hadn't told you this at and I don't
I don't have a footage of anything like that, but
there was a moment the Beatles song I've got a feeling.
(01:35:12):
And so this was when they to me what I
called the let It Be years, when they all have
beards and long hair and they're playing that final concert
on top of that roof, you know, and all that
so cold. So they have this big screen behind you,
sit right there behind Paul McCartney, and neither's two little
ones on the sides. Why I say little small, and
there's others that go up into the upper deck, but
(01:35:32):
that that big, giant screen behind you would do all
kinds of historic beetles stuff and all that back there
stuff with wings and stuff. Whatever. He was doing, well,
he's doing this song, I've got a feeling. Well. In
that song, he and John Lennon trade lead vocals, and
when it came to the John Lennon part of that song,
John Lennon comes on the big screen and sings his
(01:35:54):
part in the song, and of course the place just
went crazy. I mean it was and uh and you
and you see eighty three year old Paul McCartney turning
around looking at the screen as John Lennon, captured in
that moment in time, is singing his part. It was
really something wow, so uh so he uh was it
(01:36:15):
like like a video of him or did they do
like a weird deep fake. It wasn't that. It looked
like it was the actual video footage of them doing
that song. Now now I we'll say how they dropped
it in with the tempo and the band played right
along with it. That was impressive. That's uh the coordination there.
Yeah good, Yeah, that was really good. That's very impressive.
(01:36:37):
And I'm so glad it wasn't like a weird hologram.
It wasn't that. And he wasn't like Hello, Rick, welcome
to It didn't like it didn't look like like he
came out on stage or anything like that. It was
just but it was a cool tribute. Yes, yes, And
then you we mentioned Living Let Die. I didn't think
I was going to get Live and Let die. Uh,
and we got it. And this was the funniest part
(01:37:00):
to me when he dealt with his age a little
bit after the song's over. But first of all, this
is a little clip of the pyro because this let's
this was a funny part. They threw some pyrow out
there and expect that here it is right, hey, hey,
(01:37:23):
now ers to.
Speaker 10 (01:37:30):
Action.
Speaker 2 (01:37:30):
So that yeah, what what what do you think? That
front row ticket went for I can tell you right,
yeah they really if they bought them straight up like
they were in part of a club, maybe not. But
if it ever got the ticket brokers, oh ugly crazy,
ugly so. But after that, when they did the explosions,
I thought, because he has a great sense of humor anyway,
(01:37:51):
when he started pointing at his ears and covering them
and started mouthing, that's too loud. That's funny that, Like
he was an older man, that was very funny. That's
my daddy. He was like, that's too loud, but that's
too loud about that. And I also like when he
when he did a whole speech another good show.
Speaker 9 (01:38:09):
Yeah he did.
Speaker 2 (01:38:10):
He did a funny line that when he was talking
about at his age, he said, you know, when I'm
up here, I have to keep telling myself, don't try
to read the signs. Don't try to read the signs,
get your chords right, get your part right, you know,
stay on key, don't read the signs, don't forget lyrics,
you know all that. Don't get distracted.
Speaker 11 (01:38:30):
Ye.
Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
And then he's like, well, then I start reading the signs.
And there was one guy was hold up a sign
I've seen you one hundred and forty times and they've
showed him on the screen. He goes one hundred and forty,
he goes, don't you think that's a bit much? I agree,
Palmy toured enough right, just like that, like that gump
(01:38:54):
like him. But uh, I will say, voice wise, Adler,
tell Greg about this speedy course. You and I've been
discussing the music behind all this all day since we've
been here.
Speaker 14 (01:39:05):
But you know what.
Speaker 2 (01:39:05):
Surprised me a little bit. He still has his fault setup.
He's still even though it can be a little weaker,
especially on maybe I'm amazed, a little weaker in his
full voice. But you know, the raspy is what he
struggles with the most, now, you know, because McCartney had
a raspy that was really cool, right and when he
would go there, especially if it was raspy and a
(01:39:27):
little bit high, that was that was the only place
that he had to drop off. And I think I caught,
not caught, because I think they don't think they're hiding it.
But the backup guys, especially the drummer. The drummer sing
a lot of backup and they would fill in some
of the higher stuff. But when you're sitting there and
joining it, what you got was the song sounded the
(01:39:47):
way it was supposed to do. Yes, were you trying
to help out where you were singing with him?
Speaker 11 (01:39:51):
I was.
Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
I thought, yeah, you know, that's a cool concert. Though
Reg I gotten next to me, didn't care for my
ju ju joh, he didn't. You were trying to do this.
I'm up here, Paul, I'm trying to have that's right,
So I will say that it was. I'm glad I went.
I got out of my comfort zone and I went
(01:40:14):
back to a concert. It was an iconic thing to
see him. There, so much history, so much music, and
it was a great date and it was a great
time with friends, and I enjoyed it. I had a
good time.
Speaker 11 (01:40:28):
I did.
Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
Did I stay for the last encore? I did not?
Rick Well, we looked ahead and I saw the last
three songs he were doing. He was doing and none
of us were interested in. I was like, okay, we
can beat the crowd. That's a program. Hey, that's a
okay movie. We stayed through Helter Skelter, then we were outd.
Speaker 1 (01:40:50):

health regiment, I realize we'll see I'm trying that, I'm
living in that. Let's try to do better. And you're
thinking about getting off that weight cycling, which is not
good for us, taking weight off, put it on, fad, diet,
(01:41:58):
take it off, stop the fad, put it back on,
sometimes worse. And then you're starting thinking, yeah, I know
they're having some luck with these GLP injections. I don't

Hey, I've been trying to call for like a minute
and twenty seconds now, okay, hey, speed. He's got to
calm down. He can't be saying this stuff that coach. Oh,
thats reckless statements he's making about him. And hey, you've
got a speech impediment. You know you can't have a
guy with a speech impediment and one championship.
Speaker 7 (01:43:09):
What's up with that?
Speaker 2 (01:43:12):
I don't even know what he was talking about, but
you know, thank you, sir, Rick Burgess Show. Unscreen phone
calls go ahead, Rick, what's up man?
Speaker 13 (01:43:21):
It's Terry ma May I'm just going to tell you,
I'm glad, you're glad you had a good time.
Speaker 4 (01:43:25):
At the show.
Speaker 3 (01:43:25):
Glad that Paul was still able to perform and you
didn't have to yell out we care about himself.
Speaker 2 (01:43:32):
I was worried about that. Mean eighty three guys, Yeah,
eighty three. It's amazing. He played for two hours and
forty five minutes. Wow, did thirty five songs. And when

Put him in the closet. Yeah, he's like, he's not

I was like, that's not good, that's not smart.
Speaker 5 (01:44:30):
Well, he got the participat believe he's just looking in
the corner of the room and chin's and really there's.
Speaker 2 (01:44:35):

Lawtiger's video. U.
Speaker 17 (01:45:40):
He sounds like speedy trying to do an ed Orgeron impression.
Speaker 2 (01:45:44):
What happens your? Is your law Tiger voice? Something different?
Speaker 11 (01:45:46):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
Dad and Row and tig at tag.
Speaker 8 (01:45:54):
I don't even know which one he's talking about, but
I either say that or say law Tigers.
Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
That's one of the others. We continue Rick Rick Birder's
show on screen. Phone calls go ahead, good.
Speaker 3 (01:46:07):
Morning, Rick, Larry patch me.
Speaker 1 (01:46:13):
Glad your guys back on the air.
Speaker 2 (01:46:16):
Yeah, we're glad to be back. I hope you enjoyed
the best of hours yesterday we did. Glad you enjoyed
the concert. It was nice, it really was. You like
Paul McCartney, Lay, no, we don't. You don't like Paul
McCartney at all, not one bet Later good night, he
(01:46:39):
just said no, So you realized. So you don't like
Paul McCartney and Wings. You don't like the Beatles, you
don't like Paul McCartney solo. Nothing you like. You don't
like rock and roll? Larry, what what are you everybody's
great grandfather? What are you talking about?
Speaker 17 (01:46:57):
What do you like.
Speaker 2 (01:47:02):
And jazz. By the way, you don't mean that on classical.
Greg taught me this years ago. Greg's right, people who
claim they like classical music, they're trying to be sharp. Yeah, yeah, Larry,
did you have any trigger treaters show up?
Speaker 18 (01:47:15):
Greg?
Speaker 2 (01:47:18):
No, I don't think he hurt. I think he was.
You got bad sale right now? I think you too,
block Larry, when you try to any of us, try
to run the conversation, just don't. He's almost like you know,
when you let a dog outside, just let him run
to he runs. I was inury. Yeah, he can't focus.
He's got one thing on his mind. Here's something that's
(01:47:40):
not it. He just locks down. Rick Burgess show go
ahead of the block.
Speaker 3 (01:47:45):
Hey, how's everybody doing.
Speaker 2 (01:47:46):
We're good. I hope you're waking.
Speaker 7 (01:47:48):
Yeah?
Speaker 18 (01:47:49):
Are you doing a book tours?
Speaker 2 (01:47:52):
There may be a second round of p R because
now the book has been picked up by retailers. I
know that Barnes and Noble that they've bought some, so
they're probably getting them to their shelves. So if the
bookstores start carrying the book, which that is happening now, Uh,
there's a chance. Yeah, there could be a second round
of pr that would include that. All right, well, thank you, yeah,
(01:48:15):
thank you, And if they, if it happens, we'll certainly
let you know. Rick Birger's show unscreen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 7 (01:48:21):
Oh speedy, oh speed race.
Speaker 2 (01:48:27):
I don't know, and I don't want to know. Rick
Birger's showy screen phone calls, go ahead, Oh good.
Speaker 19 (01:48:34):
Lord, Ricky, George, George recap for the trip. Thank you, babe,
little his little umbrella hack for you. I never we
don't care him.
Speaker 4 (01:48:45):
We don't buy them. We just stop it. Ring Catcher
stopping any restaurant walk and said, I may have left
the umbrella here. They'll bring you a box on choosing
use it, leave it, leave it at another restaurant, don't
take it home, keep it in the cycle.
Speaker 2 (01:48:58):
Oh it's like have a penny, need a penny, take
opinion umbrella version, that's.
Speaker 4 (01:49:01):
What that's right. Just want any I may let one.
I said, which one you want now, hand to you
that you just pick one, use it next time you leave.
Just we finished with it, so it stays in the
socle A great.
Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
Idea that's built for me. That's pretty good, uh Rick,
because somebody else have it. I take it and then
someone else can have it. Yeah, but what about the
person that that that brought it to the rest of
the should have left it. I left it. Finders if
they're still get wet. But if there's still in the restaurant,
they're just different tables over. That's different. Well, how are
(01:49:33):
you gonna be sure? Are you gonna say? Is it
anybody's before you leave?
Speaker 11 (01:49:36):
These?
Speaker 2 (01:49:37):
Your umbrellas have been around forever. We live in a society.
We live in a society. I'm gonna say it again.
Speaker 7 (01:49:44):
Yes we do.
Speaker 2 (01:49:46):
Uh Rick Burgess show unscreen phone calls. Go ahead.
Speaker 17 (01:49:50):
You're doing.
Speaker 2 (01:49:51):
I'm good. I hope you're well. I'm doing very good. Stort.
Speaker 7 (01:49:55):
So do you like chicken?
Speaker 2 (01:49:57):
I love chicken? Yeah, sure do?
Speaker 18 (01:49:59):
Oh yeah, well, hell yeah I like chicken too.
Speaker 2 (01:50:05):
And let me tell you this, mama. Yeah, great job
taking out that monkey in Mississippi. Well done. Oh my god.
Grig Burgers show unscreen phone calls, Go ahead.
Speaker 7 (01:50:18):
Hey guys, y'all know why I know I didn't go
fishing on the art right?
Speaker 2 (01:50:22):
Why is that?
Speaker 7 (01:50:24):
Does he only had two words?
Speaker 2 (01:50:30):
Good reason? That's not bad. It's pretty, it's not bad.
I wasn't sure and everything you wanted to wanted to
take it out. You know, my expectations couldn't have been
Lowery do.
Speaker 5 (01:50:48):
You see that the picture of Lane Kiff and that
was just texted? Let me remind me that I got ask.
Speaker 2 (01:50:53):
Something about old miss and these belts phone. Oh yeah,
Rick Burgers show unscreen phone costs. Go ahead, Hey, Rick Vergond,
how you guys doing it? I hope you're will We're
doing pretty good.
Speaker 10 (01:51:06):
I let's see a little segment about Alburn football and
I'm an old flad and yes, sir, Hey, what do
y'all think about? Like when you talk about culture. When
Auburn had Cadillac Williams the head coach, it seemed like
you had to break your program going in a good direction.
I would even say that you Freeze was riding off
(01:51:27):
of some of Calg Williams success of how you had
the school turned around.
Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
Yeah, Now do you really say that Hugh Frees wrote
on anybody's success? I mean, it wasn't a successful run
by any stretch.
Speaker 14 (01:51:41):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:51:41):
The problem I think that coach Williams had was a
program of Auburn's size and reputation good, you know, I mean,
I mean you cannot be a fan and not like
it and all that, and they certainly have not just
always a good reputation, sometimes a very frustrating reputation. But
for someone to be given the head coaching job at
(01:52:02):
an SEC level school, I don't even without without without
any head coach experience of any kind of experience, and
not even a lot of coaching experience of much. I
think it's a bit of a stretch, and he may
do a great job, but I think he probably needs
to be an assisted a little bit longer, or you know,
(01:52:22):
something like that. I can understand why he wasn't given
that opportunity. Yeah, yeah, he finished two and two as
the interim head coach. He quit and in February.
Speaker 8 (01:52:35):
Twenty twenty four was hired by the Raiders to be
their running backs coach, but he was dismissed by the
Raiders as well.
Speaker 2 (01:52:40):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (01:52:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. All I want for
(01:53:02):
Christmas is cold hard cash. The Cash Countdown to Christmas
is coming soon, only here on the Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 2 (01:53:12):
Yeah you heard of sun the clause? Do you know
about sand a cash, be paying attention, be hanging out.
It's coming there only here. Okay, So we've recovered a lot.
As I mentioned on the program today, Speedy, you wanted
to take on this old Miss thing because of course
(01:53:35):
you've been to Mississi state guy, you gotta have something
to say about old Miss. Well, no, I'm asking a question.
I don't know. I don't even know how it started.
Speaker 5 (01:53:42):
But yesterday we had had the day off and we've
been talking about Paul McCartney and Atlanta and all this.
Speaker 10 (01:53:51):
You know.
Speaker 5 (01:53:52):
I woke up and Terry was getting ready to go
into the office. I turned on the TV and I
guess the last thing that was on was the SEC Network.
They do a live show and I was I was
watching it and they said what about this belt.
Speaker 2 (01:54:05):
Thing at Ole Miss? And I was like, what what
are they talking about? And they showed think about the
wrestling belt?
Speaker 5 (01:54:11):
Everybody yeah, And and they showed the crowd, which I mean,
you know, swinging a belt around is dangerous anyway, you
got pop some in the head. But what they're doing
is almost I don't know, if like when your dad
or something, if you if he was going hew a,
you about to get your butt whoop, they would they
would pop a belt, you.
Speaker 2 (01:54:30):
Double it up and then you oh yeah, I'd love
to do that. What it shows everybody it's hard to do.
I mean, it's it's not, it's not, it's not you
got to get a good pop.
Speaker 10 (01:54:39):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
And it showed the student section and everybody had their
belts off, popping their belts and I'm like what and
they're like, yeah, we will just riveal the cow bell,
you know, Like okay, it's not dependent enough. It doesn't
like I said, you may you make one good pop
out of three tries.
Speaker 5 (01:54:56):
Soil this all about a forty second piece on it,
And I'm like, well, how do this if start?
Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
And what's the deal and what kind of noise does
it make? I'd kind of like to know. And this
depends on you're gonna try a bunch of bells? Get one?
Speaker 5 (01:55:07):
You like, yeah, I've I've heard of artificial noisemakers, you know,
rocks and cans and different things.
Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
Never never heard popping a belt. I never heard something.
Speaker 5 (01:55:18):
I don't understand that. And the players, the players are
even doing it, and I don't know how it started it.
Speaker 2 (01:55:26):
We're whooping your butt, but is it really loud enough?
I don't know. That's what I was wanting to know
from some maybe some old miss fans. That bell is
so loud that when you're watching it on television, I
feel like you're at the game. Yeah, super annoying.
Speaker 20 (01:55:42):
It is all right, here I go pop it. Huh
you got your like it's hot here here you go.
That got my attention as a kid. I was like, yes, sir, yeah,
I got scared just then.
Speaker 2 (01:55:57):
But still I don't know if you can project enough
racket with how much noise? I mean, what does it
so much noise? Can you really do? I don't know anyway,
I thought I would just ask. I saw it, Okay?
Speaker 10 (01:56:08):
It better?
Speaker 7 (01:56:09):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (01:56:09):
Huh? That look cool when I'm doing it, because you
look like really focused? Great, great, pretty good. Be careful.
You kind of get your finger when I started last year.
Do I have to bring the belt or do I
(01:56:31):
take the belt? I'm wearing off? What am I doing?
Speaker 7 (01:56:33):
Then?
Speaker 2 (01:56:33):
You've got a lot of cracks and you don't need
the extra bell. Use the one you got butt cracks
all up? Why you wear because you keep your pants?
Or does that does that have noise with it? Or
is it just video? Because I'd like it? Does it?
Does it like? Is it loud? Is any can anybody
last night Okay, can anybody who's been to an Old
(01:56:54):
Miss game, can you give us some idea of how
loud it is? That is it picking up any momentum
as far as loudness. Okaysembol you could take that to say, yes,
whip and I thank you, Greg.
Speaker 21 (01:57:08):
We got it.
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
We understand. It's called b t A. That's it. That's
two athletes are beating that. Yeah, it's it's just back.
I mean, I'd like to know, you know, I guess yeah,
(01:57:30):
I tell you how about that? Have I had a belt?
I got one on? What what's your least favorite? You
said you didn't care for the cow bell? I still
say the air horns the worst, the worst. There's nothing worse.
And somebody behind you if it's for your team, can
it physically hurts? Does listen? I was in a playoff
(01:57:55):
game last year. Someone had brought in. It sounded like
a train whistle. Oh you tell me about that? Stopped
the game, made him quit. It was full blown. Guess
it's like a train whistle. That's right.
Speaker 14 (01:58:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:58:07):
And the guy had this big what in front of him.
He was serious about it. They shut him down. I
know you could. Okay, Yeah, as a matter of fact
he was enterprise may be wrong. Did you see this too, Adler?
Real quick? While we're talking about noisemakers, you remember the
vov goof of oh my or whatever it is. I
forgot about though. It sounds like you see it at
(01:58:30):
World Cup, So I forget that was popular for a while. Yeah,
thank goodness that passed. Yeah, from the text line out
of Mississippi, we thought it was the student section hitting
water bottles together. From our seats. It sounded pretty cool. Okay,
(01:58:53):
maybe it maybe.
Speaker 5 (01:58:55):
Well, well, y'all, I get I would like to know
from Vandy fans to when the Vandy whistler was, And
I know we still have people that want to continue
that tradition.
Speaker 2 (01:59:04):
He died, didn't he? Yeah? Yeah, But I wondered for
Vandy fans, if I was a baseball fan, do you
are you have an annoyed Oh goodness, some of you
act like you know you don't. Yeah, nobody likes that.
Nobody now because baseball is the time, because you want
to sit and join the game. I don't mean. Baseball
didn't seem to be a noise maker thing to me.
It was too quiet and the noises are too annoying. Yeah, yeah,
(01:59:27):
it's I can't do it. Yeah the whole time. Oh yeah,
and you have you have? I want to carry that
on you hear it. I was watching on TV one
time and it drove turned sound. Was it some kind
of tick he had or was just trying to be annoying?
He was just trying to be sharp. I can't let
some just somebody do that. The entire drive a crazy
(01:59:50):
imagine you speaking of tickets to go somewhere. You finally
sit down right behind you shirts, but I hate listen
and guy the guy the public Cartney concert that I've
I'm like, you're gonna get something to drink right now
in this incredible moment, and then stand there and cannot
be able to get down the aisle and block my
entire view of the stage. How about that? Did you
tell how much it is gonna cost? I was like,
(02:00:11):
they don't get the chicken. You're welling to face where
you go. You're gonna get jigen. What about instead of
the bandy whish layers, the rick Burgess whistle.
Speaker 1 (02:00:30):
Shop the hour, this is the rick Burgess shows up.
(02:01:01):
You got a fine broadcasting from the world.
Speaker 2 (02:01:10):
The Rich Purchase Show America meets here every day here
we are. Thank you for being with us. If you
missed the show up to this point, you missed a lot,
go back and grab the daily archive, either on the
YouTube channel or the podcast channel. Never miss a moment,
even on your own time. But there's something about the
(02:01:30):
thrill of being here and wondering what's gonna happen next.
Those of you that are bold enough, buckle up. Let's
go for another hour. Speedy, Greg Gadler here, box seats filling.
Speaker 4 (02:01:44):
We do.
Speaker 2 (02:01:45):
We do have one couple that's let us know. They've
got a new baby and the baby was a little
bit of a handle today. But they're gonna get here.
They just run a little late. Then they'll meet to eight. Yeah,
then they'll then they'll run in their old buddy too.
Speaker 1 (02:01:57):
Eight.
Speaker 2 (02:01:58):
Yes, sir, it's not but no, it's not. Baby Atlanta. Well,
you know, trying to get back from Atlanta yesterday, I
had we got rerouted, went through Temple. Here we go. Yeah,
I went through seventy eight. I had too, had some
some bog everything down again. Uh, by the way, people
passing on the on the shoulder to the right, calm down.
(02:02:18):
We're less than a half a mile from the exit.
And we all are exiting, calm down. Had an eighteen
wheeler blocked them, got tired of it, went over his trove,
his truck over on the shoulder, and said I'd be
the end of that. So just just I know, me
talking about somebody being patient sounds really strange there. But
there's a way to make this all work a little
more efficiently. We're all going there, okay, any of us
(02:02:41):
that aren't exiting have gotten over the other lane. No,
I'm not willing to take the fifteen to twenty minute delay.
I understand it's got a little bog down on this rount,
but I got to be moving even if I'm moving.
You could tell me, seriously, you could, and this is
how weird. And I know you're with me, you've talked
about this. You could tell me, hey bird, you know,
I don't know if I can find one of these maps.
It just says, hey bird, hey bird, we're gonna go
(02:03:04):
out in the country. It's gonna take you another forty
five minutes to get home, but at least you won't
be sitting in tra I'll take If you sit in traffic,
it'll only be a twenty minute delay. If you'll go
out into the country. It's gonna be a forty five
minute delay, but you'll never stop moving. I'm going the
forty five minutes. Yeah, I want to be I gotta
be moving. I don't like I gotta be moving. Worse
is not moving at all. Then you got that slow
(02:03:25):
roll right last, and you just see farm land and barns.
That's awesome. Yeah, I love all that. I love that
that way you went through Temple. I had to do
that so many times. We'd go over there every weekend.
By the way, when you go through Breaming, you think,
you know one time when the railroads were the main thing,
this was happening. Oh's right there, Hello, railroad town. Yeah,
it is track run right there. And I like that
(02:03:48):
we're keeping these shops alive there next to the track. Yeah,
I don't. I don't like when the little railroad community
dies off and nobody keeps it alive. Now, let's keep
this put something in here. Didn't expect to see an
H and R block there, but still yeah, yeah, let's
do something. Let's let's keep that going right there. Does
it bother you when you see like an old downtown
area and like that some of the stores aren't making Yeah,
(02:04:09):
it does.
Speaker 5 (02:04:10):
I can't stand it because it's just their paths through.
It's tough to stop and pull over and get out.
Speaker 11 (02:04:15):
It is.
Speaker 4 (02:04:15):
Well.
Speaker 2 (02:04:15):
Now the train, you know, it's just coming through, pulling steel.
Now we ain't got no people on it. You can
see where that train. You should stop. Everybody, we get
out for a break and go ahead the store. Yeah, yeah,
I love that.
Speaker 14 (02:04:24):
Man.
Speaker 2 (02:04:25):
I'd like to see just get back to the train.
You want to travel by train more. I'd like to
see this. I'd like to go back to it, to
the train a little more. If I've been on one train.
We were in Kindergarten, we got to ride the train
to Birmingham. That's it. I've ridden on the train to
Atlanta from Birmingham. It takes a short car trip, turns
it into a really long day. Yeah, but what you
(02:04:46):
you've done that to? I took the train in New Orleans.
Speaker 10 (02:04:49):
Oh my.
Speaker 2 (02:04:51):
Trip, and on the way there it actually was fine.
It was it was okay.
Speaker 8 (02:04:55):
On the way back they had mechanical problems and we're
just stopped on tracks in the middle of nowhere.
Speaker 2 (02:05:02):
You're just looking out. That's when you go to the
bar car.
Speaker 8 (02:05:06):
That's a good idea, Greg, thank you get some coffee
or something fast and so.
Speaker 2 (02:05:12):
Y'all on the way back that was a four hour delay.
That really hurt, really because you're waiting for people to
get to you. Now, yeah, that's ugly.
Speaker 5 (02:05:23):
Well, you know, with all that all fair, I've tried
to uh not talk about it as much. You know,
Jayse's in Japan, I don't know if you know that,
and he's in Osaka right now for a couple of
days and they get back to Tokyo later in the week.
But everything's trained there. I mean, that's what they get.
He was like that, just I want you to see
(02:05:44):
what I've done.
Speaker 2 (02:05:45):
You got it. They got the bullet train.
Speaker 5 (02:05:46):
Oh, they go bullet train, but then you get train station,
you get on another bullet and you get here and
you go there, and he goes that's just the way
you get around.
Speaker 2 (02:05:53):
Yeah, and it's the same way. They're extremely efficient. Oh
yeah in Europe. I mean they'll just train to the
next that next entry named next town. I like to
see where I want trains and we've just I'd like
to see, just care if I'm gonna walk this gingerly
A lot of eighteen wheelers out there, a lot of them,
a bunch of them. I like to see us take
(02:06:14):
some of that off the off the road and get
something back on the track. I wonder, because you'll see
the passenger train every now and then and thinking who's
that right? But it's people like Adler and me that
decided to try to be sharp to do it because
it's not necessarily and you don't see them all. And
there are some people that are so terrified of airplanes
that yeah, they'd rather do train than car. Are airplane?
(02:06:37):
What you don't want to do? That's that old greyhound
you talk about, miserable.
Speaker 8 (02:06:43):
I did that too, to Atlanta, and that even just
that was all experience when they started taking people off,
like police officers take people off, like come.
Speaker 2 (02:06:54):
On, buddy, you come with us, all right, you got
warrants too, you come with that. I was like, I
might be in the back, I might not be in
the best place. Well, now this is going to hurt.
And I don't mean that, you know, because you not
as instant I am. But let's face it, modern day.
I'm not talking about the old days. I'm talking about
modern day, the time we live in right now. If
(02:07:16):
it's gotten down to the bus. Yeah, and that's your
only shot. That's that's tough crowd. That's tough it is.
That's tough crowd. I'll past one on my way into
work at like three am and I go ooh, yeah,
matges three am. He's trying to sleep in there, and
it almost feels like and what am I besides you?
Stinks got next to me, stole my shirt? Stole a
(02:07:39):
shirt from me. Yes, the guy next to me stole
my shirt. Okay, I'm on the bus.
Speaker 8 (02:07:46):
We're getting there. Somebody some people have been taken off
by police officers. And this guy's getting real nervous and
he's got like shoulder tattoos. He's like, man, they're gonna
see my tattoos. And no, I'm like, okay, all right,
do you want a shirt? He's like yeah, I'll give
it back to you after we get off the bus.
We get off the bus, he disappeared in his shirt.
There were there were two girls in front of me
(02:08:08):
that looked like they were five and six years old,
just by themselves.
Speaker 2 (02:08:12):
I think, I don't know what that was. It's a strange.
And then on the bus, world is it's a different world.
I busted you can't even anybody to give you a ride.
I mean when you're when you're when you're on the bus,
you don't even have family, you don't have friends. Nobody
can give you a ride now, no nobody. You have
no access to rental cars. Only if you got no
access to a ride, and you're I mean, you're not
(02:08:35):
even going for the train? No, okay? And I remember,
and you ever noticed bus stations? It's almost like the
crowd became, you know. Somebody was like, you know, the
bus stations are on kind of a tough part of town.
I think we should move them. I was like, nah,
let's keep it close to those that need it and
don't worry about upgrading the building. No, it's fine, Yeah,
it's good.
Speaker 8 (02:08:53):
And then I actually I busted out an iPad to
watch a movie on the on the bus and I
was like, wait is second.
Speaker 2 (02:09:00):
I'm the richest person on this bus. This is the
nicest piece of electronics that has ever been on this
Everybody looking at you. I want to get rolled. Yes,
why were you on the bus? I was I thought
it would be fun by yourself. Yes. No, went to
Atlanta for a metal show and I was like, this
will be nice.
Speaker 8 (02:09:19):
I won't have to drive and deal with traffic. Yeah,
and free metal, and it was very nice. It was
that part was nice, not having to worry about parking
and all that.
Speaker 2 (02:09:29):
But I went to a metal showing. It was not.
Worship doesn't get much. Somebody just asked, did any of
us ever hitchhike? Not planning? Accidentally? I didn't plan to.
I have hitchhike, but I was not. I didn't mean to. Yeah,
that's that. He used to hitchhike on the I'm back home.
Yeah college, there was a time when people traveled that way,
(02:09:51):
and it deal. Jay c is about to get on
that days gone. I trained to Hiroshima and then uh,
then it's fuck you. Okay, whoa what I think that?
Speaker 4 (02:10:01):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (02:10:02):
What did you do to your son? How do you
pronounce that? What did you just say? Character don't hey,
it's not it's not a fad. They don't even name
Japanese restaurants. After that, I think it's.
Speaker 1 (02:10:23):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The Man Church conferences

Birmingham is no longer available. Coming up this weekend. Those

(02:11:22):
individual Man Church gatherings that are going on all over
the country. South Dakota, you're up this weekend. Andrew varvudis
coming to see you at Calvary Baptist Church this Saturday morning.
It runs to early afternoon that gathering and if you
want to find out about that, go to the Manchurch
dot com for Yankton, South Dakota. Then Sunday night, I'm
(02:11:44):
honored Lord willing to be in Alexandria, Alabama, Mount Zion
Baptist Church with Keith Mitchell, who's doing the Man Church
a strategy there at his church. This is sold out.
They are going to be serving chili, but they do
have a wait list, so if some of the other
local churches turn any of their tickets back in. Uh,
(02:12:05):
then they could contact you and say, hey, you're up
you you we can get you in. So uh find
that to those details at themanchurch dot com. Uh under
upcoming events as well. Uh okay, so uh some of
you are asking follow up questions on all this. I
have to know how Rick you ended up having to hitchhike,
(02:12:25):
but you didn't plan to. I'd better not get into that.
I'll leave it at this. Greg wouldn't come get me. Well,
thanks a lot, thankful, thanks a lot. Well, I was
on you, buddy. You call your brother for Rod and
you we'll go get you. It's like three am needed
a rod really needed a long time ago. Wouldn't come
get me? You just refused. Well after it happened, times happens.
(02:12:49):
A few times I was disrupting. Uh, I shouldn't have
been disrupting his life. Yeah, it was. That was why
I wasn't with him, so obviously that was the best
thing for me at the time. I didn't feel that
way that we get to hang up or no, really confusing. Yeah,
my request, My request was unreasonable, it was. But how
(02:13:14):
far away? Were you? Not that far? Yeah? Further than
it needed to be, further than it need to be
at three three o'clock in the morning. You that is correct,
But that's that's old. Fine, it's in the past. It's over.
Speaker 7 (02:13:28):
You hung up.
Speaker 2 (02:13:30):
Yeah. And then the other time, the other time, other
time I had to hitchhike and didn't mean to, was
fleeing the situation. I remember that. Yeah, And thankfully a
family coming from a revival picked me up. And uh
and a pacer. Oh great, amc pacer?
Speaker 12 (02:13:45):
That was it?
Speaker 2 (02:13:46):
No, it was a pinto. I know that because Jerry
Kate's screaming when they drop me off at Del Taco,
what do you doing in that pendos were I was
like trying to believe where we were by the way
he I left quicker than him because if you remember,
(02:14:08):
he actually had a nod on his forehead because he
wished he got out quicker than me. He might have
got back to Del Taco before me, but my exit
was actually better because his his he had had a
note on the front of his head. This is what
I was trying to avoid. Yeah, but when he said
there trying to have a serious face talking to me
over nachos with on his head, that was like you know,
(02:14:29):
you may make fun of me in the Pento, but
I don't have not on mail. Get away. Yeah I
did get away, So so there you go. I can't
believe it's gotten to the point the we now have
another record field goal in the NFL. Do you guze
we have kickers now that can kick a sixty eight
yard field goal? What was it before? Sixty eight? Sixty?
(02:14:50):
What was that? What was the record to the sixty
I don't know. I think sixty four.
Speaker 8 (02:14:55):
Well, we just had one that kicked record, but it
got called back, so it's because they called a time.
Speaker 2 (02:15:03):
Last one, so it didn't actually cant right, Yeah, so
this one actually back the seventy yarder. That one was
I'm all over the place. Yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 8 (02:15:11):
So Cam Little kicked a seventy yarder in August, so
this is the same guy, but it wasn't a record.
I wait a second, that was preseason. That's why it
wasn't a record. Okay, the sixty eight yarder is is
the regular season record. I forget what team it was
that it got called back, but we just covered it
and it would have broken the record.
Speaker 2 (02:15:30):
Yeah, so guys, do you realize we're gonna have to
do something about kicking. It's getting to the point where
they can just kick it so far and so accurate. Now,
I mean, you're the game's on the line, and I
mean it's gonna be won't belong to the go if
we can just get to the thirty our own thirty, Right,
I get this. So here it is so before this
it says his longest was fifty two yards he is,
(02:15:54):
I mean from the from they hiked it from the logos,
you say hiked it. Did you just say hiked it? Sorry?
Did you just they hiked it? Yes? Look at that. Okay,
you missed the whole thing because you were staring at
him asking if you just said hiking hiked it? Yeah, Hey,
can you go back to see how Yeah we go
so that it looks like there's on the fifty, Yes,
right there, that's the ball right on the fifty. Yeah,
(02:16:14):
that's where he hiked it from. All right, So he's
going to kick it from. How far back are they
so that it would be a yards of forty five?
Forty three, forty two? Yeah? Okay, So here we go, Oh, okay,
where he's hiking it? Okay, six sixty eight? This is insane,
(02:16:37):
good grief. That's crazy, y'ah. I want to be that
guy grave that you know it's being sharp from. Oh yeah,
I'm taking from Raiders. Raiders even had a guy dat
in the back of the end. I will see here
we go, here's the side angle. This is the one
I want to see and see how far it goes over. Guys, guys,
(02:16:58):
you always hit. I want to from say.
Speaker 21 (02:17:04):
It hit the back wall, did you not the bottom,
not the top, on the way down, on the way
down up here where he hits.
Speaker 2 (02:17:16):
I mean that that is probably at least six yards back.
Speaker 9 (02:17:21):
Wow, he would have made it from.
Speaker 2 (02:17:26):
You might know. I think you would have from what
that's not funny, that's not funny. No, I'm sorry. No,
half foot he had his name, wouldn't have foot on
the guy forever he had these. Yeah, well you called him,
(02:17:47):
I mean you member, but the don't call him half
half of Beau gave him. You say, how long that
stealing one was even close? Don't you think that on
his half foot? Now? I mean you couldn't shake it. Yeah,
the steel on the front, it was like a horseshoe.
Almost kicked it with a horseshoe. He kicked it like
a horse. I mean he kicked that record. That record
stood for and it was sixty one, right at sixty.
(02:18:10):
I think how you feel about the balls? You think
they're different? It could be. So here we go. We
got I'm asking. I'm just asking. So, yeah, that one
might happen about that. Oh a fan called it, So
he's gonna try it looks like you'll try sixty eight yarder?
(02:18:31):
Oh who's asking for?
Speaker 9 (02:18:34):
Make that from seventy?
Speaker 22 (02:18:39):
Looks he's covered his Yeah, so yeah once he's sweetheart, Yeah,
so kind. Yeah, she's very nice, very kind, She very
kind lady. Yeah, I really think she was a little
taken with you, honestly.
Speaker 2 (02:18:53):
No, I mean she was just she was a kind person.
We can't we can't fathom the people are nice. Head
coach with the I was in Birmingham, got to meet
Trent Dilper. It was skinnier than I thought.
Speaker 18 (02:19:12):
Here it is.
Speaker 2 (02:19:15):
Mama liked that meeting who mama liked that meeting?
Speaker 9 (02:19:20):
Rich Speedy.
Speaker 1 (02:19:23):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the Home of Greg Burchase,
America's Life Coach, The Rick Burtish Show.
Speaker 2 (02:19:44):
Thank you for being with us today, America. We have
a lot to do going forward on the program, and
we thank you for being here. We do have a
burgess ball battle coming up next hour. They're all here now,
everybody in their box seats, so they'll be ready to go.
We'll all say say hello and meet the ones that
(02:20:06):
are wanting to come to the old big boy mic.
Here it is, so we'll see by the way out.
I would like to tell some of you in text nation,
seek help, Seek help now, yes, all right, let me
go to my pillow here. We've got some stuff going on.
That's a biggie my pillow dot com slash big vox.
(02:20:28):
These are savings, by the way, that are so good
that Sherry and I have re stocked and gotten ourselves
more my pillows. I mean you can't and thankfully we
bought these before we went to a concert and tried
to eat chicken fingers. So do you realize how many
pillows you could get for what those chicken fingers cost?
(02:20:48):
But right now, if you go to my pillow dot com,
and these are the premiums too, by the way, with
the geeze of cotton. The Queen's are only seventeen dollars
and ninety eight cents, and the King's only nine ninety eight,
So I would go ahead and stock up on those now,
especially if you're thinking about maybe some gifts, because those
prices probably not gonna hold. But look at my slippers
(02:21:11):
right now, they're only forty bucks. They're normally one hundred
and fifty. That's big savings. And my towels are back,
but at this price, I doubt they're going to stay
in stock. Very long six piece. My towel set was
seventy dollars, now forty dollars. So make the move now
to my pillow dot com slash big vox. Spend more
(02:21:32):
than one hundred dollars, get free shipping and free and
one hundred dollars and free digital gifts as well. My
pillow dot com slash big vox, or go to Rick
Burgess show dot com under the sponsors button. I don't
want to alarm everyone, but I'm afraid this is another
animal I told you so. I have tried so hard
(02:21:54):
to get people to understand, yeah, that animals are attacking,
that they're after us, a lot of unprecedented animal behavior.
It's a sign at the end of time, of course.
And uh and so, while a lot of you over
here looking for space aliens, which By the way, can
we research a story I kept getting over the weekend
that Elon Musk admitted he was a space alien or
(02:22:15):
he was some sort of lizard creature or something over
you really think that happened? Well, somehow, I don't think
it happened, because it seems like if Elon Musk admitted
he was a space alien or a lizard man, it
would have been walldwall coverage. I would I would have
expected more coverage.
Speaker 8 (02:22:32):
Yeah, I think he was being uh he was on
Rogan or he made another and that's a three hour
something long conversation.
Speaker 2 (02:22:41):
I think they made a joke about it. I think
he was saying, Mom, Donnie is yes, probably could be.
But this one is according to Adler and Speedy real
and I'm I'm gonna read this headline and I hope
that I hear a gasp from the crowd. Rats have
now to hunt bats, and scientists are terrified. Four year
(02:23:05):
study just confirmed that rats are leaping out of the
darkness now snatching bats in mid air, dragging them down
and devouring them by the thousands inside these hibernation caves.
Quite let me say this, I would be if the
bat was eating the rat you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
(02:23:26):
right now, I'm fine with that. But watch this thing.
Go get a bat. Yeah, it's it's gonna. It's waiting
for its moment. It's sitting on like a seal, little window,
seas a big rat us all it's walking away with
(02:23:51):
Just tear away. Look something big that's a well fed rat.
Bats has got to lots of protein. Bats are rats
must be pretty stupid because they're right there all over.
What would you do if they can't sell rat they
sent stuff? Yeah? Huh. What would you do if you
saw rat that big? Whatever it took to kill every
(02:24:12):
rat there was, or to leave in between. I now,
you don't run, but that would make you run. I wouldn't.
I would. Well, you're not going to, by the way,
you're not gonna ever. Ever. So if you tell me
there's rats I need to be aware of, and I
go where, and you say at camp house, big concern.
If you say there's rats and I go where, and
they go you know where bats hibernated, I'm like, well,
I'm not going in there. That's true. Too many bats.
(02:24:33):
I'm not gonna be there. I'm not. I don't. I'm
like bats, bats a little bit of ray, yeah, rode
it with wings.
Speaker 10 (02:24:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:24:41):
But you know what this is? This is this is
right on rat crime.
Speaker 11 (02:24:44):
That is.
Speaker 2 (02:24:47):
Right rat on bat This is real.
Speaker 8 (02:24:50):
I know you have to be worried about everything being
AI now, but this is from the Smithsonian magazine that
they're reporting on this new one.
Speaker 2 (02:24:58):
So that makes it real. What if someone lied about
it being from the Smithsonian? What about that? What? What
did you say? I got hung up on it. You
did smith Smithsonian so that I didn't like watching a
rat make that move? Maybe I'm the only one. No,
it was so calm about it. I'm telling you it's
(02:25:19):
coming big. Remember I hated that movie Ben, Oh my goodness,
that goodness. Now when if there's if there's one where
were kids that was probably had? I hated everything about it.
I have no tolerance for for a roaded battle. Nothing.
Now you remember and he's going on into glory now,
But do you remember when we had the uncle that
(02:25:39):
woke up to like you was waking up out of
your sleep and he was just like laying on his
couch and he woke up and he was like, you
know how, you're just shining what's going on? I'm coming that,
and he was like feeling some sort of stinging and
a rat was biting end of his nose. Oh, come on, now,
straight up, somebody made that up. Straight up. I saw
the scar. You saw the scar. So he woke up
(02:26:00):
and there's a rat right there. Sound scarce. Well, I'll
tell you one thing. I had never slept, never slept
on his couch. No, look at thig tails? Is that
from Ben in his army? Arat? Yeah? And then Michael
Michael Jackson, as if we should have. I know, he
went on to become even stranger. But when he wrote
a love song about a rat, that about Ben, it
(02:26:22):
tails his thick as a number two pencil. That's bad.
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 11 (02:26:27):
No.
Speaker 5 (02:26:27):
Now, we were all hunting and and stayed at at
the farmhouse down where we normally hunt, and one of
the guys rolled over in the middle of the night
and and didn't know what had happened, and woke up
the next morning and he had killed a little mice
I guess was snuggling up to him to get keep
warm in.
Speaker 2 (02:26:46):
The middle of the night, and he rolled over on it,
killed it. He was laying there. Oh damn little that
good stories about that? Mm hmm. You know, I didn't
just we should write a ballad about a rat Michael Jackson. Yeah,
you know what we did with that in the seventies
that we should have known the times that were to
(02:27:07):
coming were coming. We let somebody write a movie about
some kid that feels like an outcast. And I'm I'm
pretty sure the kid was the guy from the courtship
of Eddy's father, and and and he lived with some
little outcast and his friends were rats, a special rat
who had an army of rats that he could command
to get you. And then and then we we we
(02:27:27):
went out and we took Michael Jackson and we said,
could you write a love song about this, this boy
and his providence? Yeah? But I mean and and how
we like an army of rats that you could command? No,
because I'll turn on you every movie. Two things that
scared me when I was a kid. That and the
one about the giant rabbits. Remember that one? Yeah, I do. Gray.
(02:27:48):
Would you like me to take you where my rat
trauma came from? Would you like me to go back
in time and give you where the rat trauma for
me came from? Materia as a boy, you know the
story it's terrible. So we had hunting dogs. This is
gonna it's gonna be hard for me to talk about.
We had we had hunting dogs and you know, so
we had two pins in the back where they stayed. Yeah,
(02:28:10):
we had the pen where you had puppies. If we
had a female that it had puppies. Then you had
the pen where the beagles the beagles, and there was
this dad. It made some attempt at those days. I
guess they didn't they We didn't have the plastic tubs
like you have now. And it was some kind of
wood memory. It was like a wood apparatus to keep
feed and trunk, big trunk and he kept the dog
(02:28:33):
food in there, and I guess it was not sealed
properly or something. So I was told to go feed
the dogs. And what happened next, And so the big
Jim Dandy sacks in there. I go to open up
to Jim Dandy. They liked Jim Dandy. I'm going I'm
going in because I was too Scoops dropped Jim Dandy
(02:28:54):
in that one. And and as I go in, I
see something and I thought it was the fact that
was a snake, And I was like, oh, my gosh,
like this, and it was one of those number two
pencil tails and they had gotten in there, and they
begin to jump out of the bag at me. They
begin to leap. Ye, what's all right? They making He's
(02:29:19):
got that. Absolutely. I think how many years ago that
must have been. That was a long time ago. That
story has really grown. No, they were jumping at me. Yeah,
they knew that they got at the throat. They didn't
give it by the throat, but you had a little hop.
They do it a little hot like you just saw.
And they were hopping in the bag at me. There
(02:29:40):
were more than one. You never fed the dogs again,
I did not. They were just starved. Light or dark?
It was they were dark, No, I mean it was
it was outside the dust. It was like it was
like one of them got him into half.
Speaker 10 (02:29:53):
Now, so great.
Speaker 8 (02:29:57):
I didn't know about the Giant Rabbits movie. Oh yeah,
Night of the Leapers.
Speaker 2 (02:30:01):
Yes, yes, look how I was scared. Scared? That ain't scary.
Speaker 1 (02:30:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who could
fix the entire commercial airline industry if they would only
(02:30:35):
give him a shot. Rick Burges, thank you.
Speaker 2 (02:30:44):
Thank you, thank you, America, thanks for being with us
today as we work our way through another show and
having a blast. Good to be back. We got box
seats hanging out with us today being a great encouragement
and all of them get along great of course. And
then we're about to have the Burgess Ball battle and
all that'll come apart, So that's coming up next hour.
(02:31:04):
Looking forward to that one. A couple of things also
from the Weekend video thirteen here today, and people send
us this kind of stuff a lot, and it is
it's it's out there and all of this just reeks
with second hand embarrassment problems. Some of these things, you know,
(02:31:27):
like I could personally, I would struggle as a heterosexual
man to be in a church if I felt like
the pastor was a little too silly, you know what
I mean, Like Lily, like the guy we had that
day that dressed up as Mario. Oh and they did
the message like he's in a Mario game. I forgot it,
And some of these, you know, you can be way
(02:31:50):
too relatable. Well, we've got a guy today that is
doing something. He's going to do a themed series of
teaching the Holy Word of God, and he's he's going
with brave Heart and he's going as far as to
dress up like William Wallace and and and and do
(02:32:12):
some kind of inappropriate kilt jokes. Now, this is your pastor,
this is Chris. It is in Colorado. But I've seen
some of this with some of your mega megachurches. Remember
the one I sent y'all the other day? Oh yeah,
I mean I don't I got you for that. Did
nobody ever say I can't believe our pastor is acting
this way. I can't believe my pastor's dressed as Mario
(02:32:34):
that kind of stuff. So this is Jim Bergen, emerging
senior pastor. It's the Community Church, non denominational. And uh,
the in Colorado. Do y'all say Lafayette like Alabama or
Lafayette like Louisiana, good question, whichever one it is in Colorado.
(02:32:55):
And speedy out. You're even had to brace yourself for this.
I want you to put yourself in church right now.
I pitch yourself there. And here's the pastor walking out
for the new sermon series. He's wearing a kilt. All right,
all right, we will well.
Speaker 15 (02:33:07):
And the reason we do it is because what we've
learned is that Jesus was the best storyteller ever, and
he would take deep spiritual truths and weave them into
My eyes are up here, lady. Okay, all right, uh
oh my god, oh gosh, have a good time. Alright,
to be more drafty. It's actually kind of hot anyway.
(02:33:29):
Jesus the best storyteller ever, right, And and what you
do is you take deep spiritual truths and then weave
him into a really good story. And then people would
like find themselves engaged in that, and then all the
dots that connect go, oh, now I understand. And so
that's what we're doing in all these stories out of Hollywood.
Is like Jesus can teach us all kinds of things
if you if you study the teachings of Jesus. He
he used farming illustrations, he used military ill illustrations, he
(02:33:52):
used fishing ill illustrations. And and today we're gonna we're
gonna look at well, we're gonna look at brave heeart. Okay,
So let's get as anybody seen braveheart because you're either
non an American or not a Christian? Is that the right, right?
Speaker 2 (02:34:04):
So you gotta gotta get ready for this, So count
in your best Wallace two three they had him to
say freedom. I know what Speedy would look like. A
kill that's one goat away from being dead.
Speaker 11 (02:34:25):
On.
Speaker 2 (02:34:25):
You can't say he's ball to he's me. By the way,
if Speedy tried to work killed, he'd look at Christmas tree.
Speaker 1 (02:34:35):
That's good.
Speaker 2 (02:34:36):
Christmas tree is good. Buddy, got him right here. That's
what about thank you man for not laughing. There's one
that didn't laugh. She felt sorry for Yeah, she's throlling
in here right. And what gets me is, see, this
is the thing that is so missed, so miss understood,
this particular idea from this pastor. It's not landing any
(02:35:00):
I can't imagine how the women in the church feel
about this. And where he's the one to barter skirt.
Where he's making a mistake is he thinks the men
think this is cool because he's gonna be brave heart
and all that. And really every man iner is going
is the pastor really dressing up like William Wallace and
carrying a sword onto the U and to talk about
(02:35:21):
and trying to relate to us by doing the kind
of over watch me do the raw raw. It's one
of the things we tried to stay away from. And
you know we first started the man church is the
this thing where you try to almost be corny with
trying to appeal to men with these corny images, you know,
(02:35:42):
and really there's really nothing, as we've said, and we
say this all the time. Really, if you really want
to challenge men and women, but if you want to
appeal to men, you might just want to talk about
what Jesus said about how difficult it is to actually
be a true follow where he is. You don't have
to dress and a kill. You know, when I hear
things like, you know, count the costs, deny self, pick
(02:36:03):
up your cross, narrow gate hard. Only a few ever
take it on that that's a that's a challenge, and
you know that that's a big challenge. I just let
the scripture speak for itself and challenges. It's it's plenty
of challenge there, you know. I really you don't have
to pretend to be William Wallace. That's tough right there.
(02:36:24):
And I still don't know what you're trying to accomplish
by dressing up his Mario, What is this fall festival?
What are we doing? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (02:36:31):
That he thought he looked cool and the William Wallace
killed and he wanted to he wanted to hold a sword.
Speaker 2 (02:36:37):
Guys, I think that's what that is. Yeah, it's it's
like going to pretend, like when we were little boys
and we were growing up and we did like to
go ahead and get pretend swords and play army or
play you know, war or you know whatever. But the
this guy does not miss a renaissance festival. I'll tell
you that. And what about what about making some kind
of semi lude comment, Hey lady, you know eyes of peer,
(02:37:01):
that's the pastor oh how about I have to Yeah,
he's a restroom. He's just trying to be relatable, you know,
and you're in your like creative meeting. That's when you go,
I'm not dressing like that. Well, this is where it
goes back to what what Adler just said. I don't
know this person. I don't I don't know him at all.
(02:37:23):
So but I'm just saying that if you're in leadership
Roland and some somebody may be young and memberture on
the staff brings up what they think is a cool idea,
he actually said okay to it, So, which tells you
what Adler just said. He thought, yeah, I'll look awesome
and a kiltup. That'd be great, and I'm gonna go
up and do the raw raw, you know, let's all
be William Wallace and tie that descripture.
Speaker 8 (02:37:46):
You know, I've never worn a kilt, but he looks
like he has worn that kilt before, you know what
I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (02:37:51):
Like he didn't look uncomfortable in the kilt you're saying
in the meeting, he said, well, you.
Speaker 16 (02:37:55):
Know I got it.
Speaker 2 (02:37:56):
Well I do have a kid. Yeah right, yes, are
you sure you ain't want to hate pastor? We've even
found out the costume place we can go get you killed.
That's great what the pastors said when he said, he
says he's got kill. He's good. He's good. Yeah, he
wore it the last time they had a festival or sometimes.
(02:38:18):
I mean, you got the matching shirt and everything, and
then saw, Hey, if I'm in Scottland. If I'm in
Scotland and the pastor comes out appropriately dressed and in
a kilt, you know, and it's going to bring the
message and gets up there, and I'm in their culture,
I think that would be cool. But you know, if
I'm in Colorado and my pastor's dressed like he's in
(02:38:40):
a Scottish kilt. Not as cool. He's not as cool,
you know, it's it comes across as a little odd. Yeah,
what did a killed is just to have a maybe
a cool visual on the big screen.
Speaker 11 (02:38:53):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:38:54):
Plus I'm disappointed he didn't do the blue face paint
even he's not fully all in.
Speaker 11 (02:39:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:39:02):
Top of the hour, Burgis Ball Battle come out.
Speaker 1 (02:39:08):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (02:39:12):
Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 8 (02:39:19):
Divoice of reason for an und reasonable.
Speaker 2 (02:39:28):
Lighting up, Francis. Here we go in America. Are you ready?
Here we go? Brand new hour. Thanks for being with
us the vox seats. You can feel it, the earning energy, anticipation.
A Burgess Ball Battle to ensue coming up this hour,
unscreened phone calls. Yes, we'll there to do that again.
(02:39:50):
We also meet those that are willing to come to
the Big Boy Mike, We'll meet them this hour. We've

Speedy has taken the wireless microphone. He is headed over
(02:40:33):
to what was chaoting last week, to the Burgess Ball
Battle courts and he will announce which to vox saters.
We'll go head to head in the Burgess Ball Battle, allright, Rick.
Speaker 5 (02:40:45):
The two that we're drawn is Ashland McCormick, Ashlenden.
Speaker 2 (02:40:50):
We'll take on Savannah Osbourne. Check bieh you go bye.
This is where the rest of the box seats are
fake happy for oh I was coming. Good for them, No,
good for them people. I booked my tickets and saw all.
I've thought about it, but it didn't work out for me,
but good for them, all right.
Speaker 5 (02:41:11):
So Ashland is telling actually Savannah is telling Ashland that
she played basketball one year.
Speaker 2 (02:41:15):
The only point she scored was for the other team.
Well you know what, you got it, so don't you
think you can is to the left and savannahs to
the right. For those of you that are visualizing, I
need you to put the basketball down, young lady.
Speaker 7 (02:41:28):
Here we go.
Speaker 5 (02:41:28):
You got thirty seconds. The last ten seconds. Everything counts
as a three, so you could come back and win.
We've had some folks do that. Okay, so wait till
after the applause and.
Speaker 2 (02:41:39):
Go here we go here Ashland on the left, on
the right.
Speaker 23 (02:41:44):
Shot okay, st okay, Savannah, I got the four.
Speaker 2 (02:41:48):
Actually eight to six, ten to six is Savannah over Ashland.
Twelve to eight.
Speaker 23 (02:41:55):
We got fifteen seconds left, fourteen to eight, now, fourteen
to ten, sixteen to ten. All right, here we go
three points now, nineteen to ten, twenty two to thirteen.
Savannah over Ashland, twenty five to seventy two seconds one second,
twenty eight to sixteen, ladies, that's the battle, Savannah over Ashland.
Speaker 2 (02:42:15):
Savannah has done it. Wow, Savannah, Wow, you have done it.
Savannah Osborne the winner in the birdays ball bat.
Speaker 10 (02:42:24):
I am.
Speaker 12 (02:42:27):
All right.
Speaker 2 (02:42:28):
So now comes the spin of shame. And this means
that Ashland, McCormick, you still have to take a spin
and money, money, money, And now I hope that Savannah
is paying attention because if you like what she spins,
(02:42:48):
you take that money. Now, if you decide to take that,
then you don't get to spind. Okay, But if you
think you now you can you can't. There's no touching
the will. That's a good thing because it normally stays.
That's right. We had a one thousand dollars winter and
we've had we've had the losers actually spend money for
(02:43:09):
the winter. Yes, that's right, it landed. That's the last time.
It's Oh, it's hot. Okay, yeah, so the wheel's gotten hot.
Speaker 12 (02:43:15):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:43:15):
Unfortunately we had a big cash giveaway plan for Christmas.
It's now one thousand dollars lighter. All right, so here
we go, Ashland. You have to say it's not will
to me a little bit louder. Yeah, yeah, okay, Now
give it a spin, Savannah, pay attention. All right, here
(02:43:37):
we got Savannah, pay attention. Let's see what happens. So
come on, Savannah. Oh my goodness. I don't think I'm
not trying to speak for you, but you don't really
want to have to talk to Helium boy, do you? Okay?
All right? All right, you can deck your own spin
(02:43:57):
now and and so you've earned it. So what you
say is you get up and say I'm Savannah and
it's will to me, and spend it and give it
a spind.
Speaker 6 (02:44:09):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (02:44:10):
She was a smooth. Did you see that?
Speaker 11 (02:44:12):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (02:44:12):
Since that guy one doing that?
Speaker 9 (02:44:13):
Well, come on, come on, come, if you put just
a little more owning.
Speaker 2 (02:44:27):
Almost five.
Speaker 8 (02:44:30):
So two clicks from one thousand and one, click from
five hundred just now, yes, yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:44:34):
Sorry about that, but so close, right, but you do
you do get it, and I know it's a nice
consolation prize. You do get the autograph copy of Men
Don't Run in the Ring. Okay, okay, not one thousand dollars,
so let's get let's get her information and we'll ship
that to you because we don't have any in here
because less Bradford forgot to bring him last week. Thanks
(02:44:55):
last week killing us. All right, thank you lady, a right,
thank you. Congratulations there it is. Boy, that was tough.
You struggle with this woman. This whole thing is uncomfortable.
If they don't win. I know, well, you know what,
until they got their shot, that was a good game.
That was that was a good game. Let's meet the
box over here is ready to go. Let's talk to
(02:45:19):
Jamison Barber.
Speaker 6 (02:45:20):
Let's go see.
Speaker 2 (02:45:23):
He's on crutch. He isn't gonna take forever. Here you go,
all right, Jamison working his way over here. And uh
so Jamison, uh we even though you don't have to talk,
we do want to let everybody know that Brittany is
here with you too. So so Jamison and Britney Barber.
We've watched Brittany shake her head about your injury. So
(02:45:45):
what happened?
Speaker 12 (02:45:46):
Well, I was thought I was gonna be handy like you, Rick,
but about five ft wow, I landed on my ankle
and broke it and broke y.
Speaker 2 (02:46:02):
I understand that you really need you will rush right
to the emergency room. Seven days later. Okay, five days
later he tried to shake it off, didn't you. Yeah?

Speaker 12 (02:46:57):
I do have a question for Adler. Oh, here we go, Paddler.
Me and my wife, we don't have any kids yet.
I'm thirty five and we're we're really excited about, you know,
eventually starting the family. But how do you take care
of your kids whenever they're bigger than you?
Speaker 2 (02:47:16):
You know, that's a great question, and I appreciate that
very much. Just look on my face. I was like, yeah, man,
I was watching after a dropish countenance.
Speaker 8 (02:47:30):
He was like, yeah, yeah, well I have to use
a canoe paddle to give them spankings.
Speaker 2 (02:47:39):
You know, I'm the one on the step stool when
I'm brushing their teeth. You know, se just do what
you have to do. Yeah, your ankle feels better, right,

Glass does want to come up, but Wayling says no,
come on, come on. Crystal coming up to say hello,
(02:50:49):
and she's enjoying the vox seats. How are you doing?
Speaker 24 (02:50:52):
I'm good?
Speaker 2 (02:50:53):
How are y'all good? You had a little rough time
getting here?
Speaker 24 (02:50:56):
Yes, well I did the directions that the email sent
and it took up there and there's nothing there. So
thankfully he had the directions and worded it out. I
should have went with him to begin with.
Speaker 2 (02:51:09):
Did you that's a rare to hang on to that one?
So did you go to sweet two hundred? By chances?
Speaker 11 (02:51:16):
No?
Speaker 24 (02:51:16):
We come straight, Okay, we found it. It's pretty easy
once we got here.
Speaker 2 (02:51:20):
So you got any questions or shout outs?
Speaker 24 (02:51:23):
Shout out to my husband Whaling. He don't like Ben
on the spotlights. I figured I'd take advantage of it.
Speaker 2 (02:51:32):
To Whal came to do something that literally as you
sitting right next to microphones and cameras. I mean, this
is a tough run right here. Yes, good? Were you
named after Whaling? Jennings? He didn't want to we're bringing
him in. He chose to stay city Whal. I just
(02:51:55):
heard a wife tell a husband he was right. I
got excited. You lost your mind?
Speaker 11 (02:51:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:51:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 24 (02:52:00):
Other than that, we love y'all.
Speaker 2 (02:52:02):
Thank you always make us laugh and thank you. Oh
it's just good to be here. Good was great for
when you guys come to do the things you do
today and encourage you. So thank you for being here
to thank out. All right. Next we got to Brandon
and Savannah Osburne ball battle wind. All right, guys, how
(02:52:29):
you doing. Congratulations on your wink you you had a nice,
nice shot.
Speaker 13 (02:52:35):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (02:52:36):
So you guys have any shout outs or questions or comments.
I have two shout outs.
Speaker 11 (02:52:42):
Our son Jack, Hey, Jack, he is twelve weeks.
Speaker 2 (02:52:47):
Twelve weeks, twelve weeks. Oh wow, yeah, and y'all will
actually like this.
Speaker 11 (02:52:50):
We didn't do a gender reveal. We didn't find out
the gender beforehand he was born, and then we found
out he was a boy.
Speaker 2 (02:52:57):
Okay, we did that. Our first one's like, what's the
best experience? That's cool. So right now, y'all need to
get a recording of this because I'm just gonna guess
he's not gonna remember it at twelve weeks, and you
can go, we gave you a shout out on the show,
and you can show it to him about the time.
It's enough to embarrass it right exactly.
Speaker 11 (02:53:15):
And then my second shout out is to my co
worker Shelby Hopkins. We love the show, so we talked
about it almost every day. And that's one of our
bonding factors.
Speaker 2 (02:53:25):
Thank you. Also shout out Cody and Patrick Smith, cousins
of mine watching the show out working real jobs. Didn't
come out here to play. Cody is always talking about
if y'all are hiring another one, he would love to
Cody wants to be on the show. He wants to work.
He wants to work right here. Shout out to him. Okay,
that's good. I may talk to him. See what do
you do it for? He's cheap, That's It's one of
(02:53:52):
those things if if you have someone who says, i'd
like to go up there and work with those guys,
you don't really know what that says about you, really
something that he's got a confidence, right, So that's great. Well,
thank you guys, and congratulations on the baby. And what's
his name again, Jack?
Speaker 21 (02:54:06):
Jack?
Speaker 2 (02:54:07):
That you're enjoying the peace and quiet? Yeah, so I heard.
I heard Jack was he's a little rowdy this morning.
Speaker 11 (02:54:14):
Well he he We woke him up before he's used
to waking up, so I had to get him ready.
Speaker 2 (02:54:20):
My dad's keeping up. Yeah, it's not a stress of
morning at all. You know what, I have to go
on those highways a lot, and I've cried as well.
That's great. We all enjoyed the rest of the show.
Thank you, congratulations on that victory. So there they are.
We got everybody right in the box up. So one
(02:54:50):
of the things that we have not talked about today,
and we'll come back and get into, you know, a
phone segment coming up shortly. And I saw it over
the weekend and I can't remember what state it was in.
What state was in n with the woman who got
in all the trouble at the gym and was it
a Planet Fitness or a Gold gym, I don't know
(02:55:11):
what it was, but it was one of these things
where you know, they let you come into the bathroom
no matter what your gender is. And she rose up
against it and said that's not going to happen, made
a huge scene that they had, and other people were
even talking to I mean, Sky, this man just went
right into the restroom because he's allowed to, and you know,
you just have to believe I guess what he thinks
about himself. And she took a big stand, got kicked out,
(02:55:34):
they took her membership away from her. Was it this
lady Rick? I think so yes, So this lady was
protesting this man. Yeah, this guy, and there were some people,
some other guys that tried to get him not to
go in the restroom either. And she's the one that
gets in trouble. She's the one that get kicks out,
kicked out. And I think I may be wrong about
(02:55:55):
this after this, because they may just tied in other stories.
When I was watching it that she also so it
had some trauma in her past, you know, involving men. Uh,
and I'll just leave it at that. And uh, and
she was saying, look, I just I can't. I'm not
going to tolerate this, and she shouldn't have to tolerate that.
This is so illogical. But I actually talked to someone
(02:56:17):
in the Wednesday at the Wednesday Bible study at her
last week, and he had a membership at a gym
that would not address this. And he left it. He said,
he said, I there's just I can't. This is so
illogical and so easy to maneuver. You know, hey, hey,
biological whatever, why don't you go use the restroom when
(02:56:41):
no one's in there or whatever. And the fact that
they just let the act like that, it's unreasonable for
that to be just common courtesy. You know that we're
that everybody here now has to adapt to just a
very few people without us having any knowledge of their
psychiatric situation. Is there's a situation something that we can
(02:57:02):
even trust that they're just telling us something. And I
think there's certain things in society. I think you're going
to see people, you know, belax on or maybe relaxed on.
I think this one. The people that are for this,
allowing this are so obviously on the wrong side of it.
I think you're going to start seeing and you see
(02:57:23):
this more and more people that are saying, if y'all
are not going to police, you know, women and being
put in these situations, we the community and their families
will police it for you. Now, it was a golds
gym in La. Yeah it was Jim. I thought that
was right, Yeah, and I know they were Yeah, but
that but she got kicked out. Yeah, not the person
(02:57:44):
that was causing the issue. So we'll come back unscreen
phone calls on topics galore today, We'll give you guys
another shot. We open all lines in the most Dangerous
ten minutes coming up.
Speaker 1 (02:57:58):
This is the Rick Burtish shows. I know, the most
(02:58:26):
dangerous ten minutes in radio. Unscreened phone calls get in
now by dialing one eight eight eight six Big Fox America.
Speaker 2 (02:58:36):
The lines are open, and here we go, fearing from
you all across America, taking the show, turning it over
to you. Nothing between you and us but aeron opportunity. Yes,
and we have to make decisions about the call in
real time as we walk the tight rope. For all
(02:58:59):
those that are gazing. If you're honest, hoping we fall.
So so there we go. The number is in front
of you. The lines are open. We did miss one
shout out a moment ago. I mean, you know, when
you get on that mic, you don't know what's going
to happen to you. And I want to say a
shout out to Hines Baptist Church in Bear Creek, Alabama.
(02:59:21):
They just started doing the men's discipleship strategy from the
Maanchurch dot com and they're in their very first curriculum
and they're working through that right now. So so a
little bit of a fumble there, we got it. But
but we've got that one out to the people.
Speaker 11 (02:59:37):
We go.
Speaker 2 (02:59:38):

Speaker 16 (02:59:53):
Oh, good, good, we're I thought it was funny you
were playing the William Wallace pastor earlier. And I wanted
to share this week because my men's Bible study here
at Pine Lake and Miss Madison, Mississippi, we have.
Speaker 18 (03:00:04):
A men's Bible study every Thursday morning. We were walking
through the Book of Acts and uh this chapter by
chapter and sit down and talk about every Thursday morning.
But a man made a comment the other day's older man,
and he really they really put it on a on
a level for everybody to understand here. And I think
y'all enjoy This kind of reminded me of something your
dad would say.
Speaker 2 (03:00:23):
Okay, but you're talking about Paul.
Speaker 18 (03:00:26):
Uh, just a warrior for the Church, for the New
Church and faced all kinds of persecution. And the guy
at the very end of his Bible study, he says, guys,
you can't be a candy ass for Christ.
Speaker 11 (03:00:40):
You know.
Speaker 2 (03:00:40):
I just didn't. I just didn't. That's probably from the message,
I would think, right, I didn't see that in the
s V or the n I v or the King James.
True statement, true statement. Yeah, but you know, but I
would take my pastors saying that over the kilt. I
(03:01:01):
think we continue Rick Birder's show. Unscreen phone calls, go ahead. Hey,
good morning, guys, it's snuffs. Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 19 (03:01:12):

jaws of victory like they have several other times this year.
Congratulations Speedy, Thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:01:55):
Look, you've been an Arkansas fan, being Auburn fans and
Missippi State hands in here. We're all in the same club.
Speaker 4 (03:02:02):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (03:02:03):
Yeah, just sit there and you're just like, well, I
wonder how it's missed him. We left him forty something
seconds left.
Speaker 5 (03:02:08):
I'm like, well, this is gonna be an awful loss, right,
you know, because we were up and then we actually
got to the quarterback, which we hadn't been.
Speaker 2 (03:02:13):
This a lot of Yeah, Rick Birger's show unscreen phone calls,
go ahead.
Speaker 6 (03:02:18):
Oh yeah. I had a suggestion for the Burgers by
Battle when they're when they're a paired spanning the wheel,
they have to stand on one foot and if their
left handed they have to they have to spend with
the right hand. Off the right they have to spend
with their left hand, and then while the wheels spinning,
they have to jump rope and if they win money,
they have to give it to mate.
Speaker 2 (03:02:39):
Quite a bit of rules there. It feels a little
complicated for one of the chipmunks. Thank you man, Rick
Birders show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (03:02:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 18 (03:02:54):
So I'm wondering if Adler is a car carrying member
of the Man Club or is he just under his
probationary period.
Speaker 2 (03:03:02):
Today. I don't know what you've done. Is this in
reference to a specific thing or just how I am? Yes,
don't you love the Man card people? Sure? Yeah, Rick
Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead, born.

Speaker 3 (03:03:26):
I just had an apology for other by my rod
cast beat Auburn on Saturday. I was kind of hoping
we'd lose all their fire stoops.
Speaker 2 (03:03:32):
That's funny. You know what that is funny? You know
what I didn't think of that? Rick Birgers Show, unscreen
phone calls, go ahead, tell.
Speaker 13 (03:03:39):
You guys, Mark from the Free State of Jones the Goals,
the story about the Ladies of the Gold Gym. I
saw that on Instagram yesterday. A guy that's a good
follow on Instagram. He was a receiver at the University
of Oklahoma back a few years ago. Was the underscore
Jeffrey Mead m E a D. But he addressed that
yesterday on one of the things that I saw before.
Speaker 4 (03:03:59):
Warren has got a little which in her comment.
Speaker 13 (03:04:01):
But it's all true. But he is a great follow
on Instagram. A conservative of a guy that played a
little ball at University Oklahoma.
Speaker 2 (03:04:07):
Yeah, play play a little ball than Rick Burger Show.
I played some, Yeah, Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 7 (03:04:14):
I'm just glad you were wrong about your upset prediction
of ole miss.
Speaker 11 (03:04:19):
And and.
Speaker 2 (03:04:23):
Congratulations. I tried to help you by predicting it. So
you're welcome. Uh, thank you very much. But you know,
I actually all kid in aside. I think if you're
gonna get to the next step, winning those games you
should win. And winning them without looking sloppy is a
big step. Because it did feel like a trap game.
So I think that's that's a good sign. It really is.
(03:04:45):
So congratulations, haughty Toddy and snapping belts and things. Rick
Burger's Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead.
Speaker 13 (03:04:53):

to tell that guy to that kind of behavior. Probation
is not gonna last very long. You know you're gonna
go right back. We continue. Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls,
go ahead.
Speaker 4 (03:05:33):
Hey, I need some advice.
Speaker 17 (03:05:34):
I got at one hundred bound spike out here.
Speaker 7 (03:05:37):
I'm trying to decide if I'm gonna get it or
wait for a bigger one advice on it.
Speaker 2 (03:05:44):
Let it walk hundred pounds spike, Yeah, go ahead. It
actually tastes bettery. We continue Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls,
go ahead, Yeah, let us had a question for Adler.
Oh my goodness, what a this is? Adler? Go ahead.
Speaker 18 (03:06:04):
I was just wondering if Ezra has a problem with him.
Speaker 2 (03:06:06):
Borrowing his Okay, this is what is the thing? You
fall off a ladder two? Okay, we don't have to
be like that. Ladder foots out here right. I do
think he's starting ladder started, he started it. Unscreen phone calls,
(03:06:28):
go ahead.
Speaker 25 (03:06:29):
Okay, just remember anytime we do it during this time
live anybody that's available to do this.
Speaker 2 (03:06:41):
They don't have a lot on the calendar. That's a
good okay, I've just worked. They're sneaking a calling word right,
that sounded like which reminds me of this great Babylon
Bee headline today Snap beneficiaries wishing there was some way
they could trade their labor and services for money to
buy food. That's good. Rick Berger's show on screen phone
(03:07:04):
calls laughing helping and you're not helping. Rick Burgers Show,
unscreen phone calls. Go ahead, that was mad like Adler's done,
fell off the ladder and landed on your aina. Okay,
see it doesn't even make sense. I didn't even Okay,
(03:07:24):
that isn't even let me tell you. Don't laugh.
Speaker 26 (03:07:32):
Don't laugh at it, you know, just like keeping if
you keep laughing, they just keep doing it. All right,
we'll come back there, you're another segment of that.
Speaker 2 (03:07:45):
I think we've covered that there. I got as what
you like to play handball on the curve?
Speaker 7 (03:07:53):
All right, so.
Speaker 2 (03:07:55):
We'll be We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (03:07:58):

(03:08:57):
I have notifications and all that. Gay people are very cool.
We got to come off this. Oh my goodness. Yeah,
he is really something. Uh, we do need to talk
about security. We do, guys now more than ever. If
you don't think you need talk about security, just listen
to that last boone savement. Yeah, it's one thing for
(03:09:18):
you know, you to have a system that is reactive.
I mean, I'm reacting and that's that's better than nothing.
But what if you had a system that was an
upgrade that was proactive, because I mean, you know, it's
great that they've called law enforcement all that, but I
mean your windows probably still broke, your door, maybe damage,
they'm not even stolen something. But if simply safe dot Com, Slash,
(03:09:39):
Big Vox is watching your property, they can actually use
the AI technology to engage potential intruders, the men to
come on the property. Hey what are you doing here?
Birds know you here? It's just made gary and you know,
and then and if it is uh, then you you know,
you go. You may pass. But if not, they they
(03:10:00):
can interact and the live human person who's monitoring the
property comes on and begins to talk to the intruder. Now,
I would like to tell you there has been an
upgrade on savings. Some of you that have waited you
you are about to get a Black Friday special simply
safe dot com slash big vox sixty percent off, sixty
(03:10:22):
percent off in U system. Wow. Uh, that's early access
to the Black Friday Sale sixty percent off simplysafe dot
com slash big vox. Or go to Rick Burgess Show
dot com right there under sponsors. Uh, tell me that
you saw some other stories that we haven't touched on.
(03:10:42):
Did you see the sixty minutes interview with Trump and
him talking about Ma'm donnie and Trump trying to compare
the two. Of course, you know one's a communist. That's
it's important. Here is sixty minutes talking to Trump about
this comparison. Uh. And Trump's reaction is is his usual gold.
Speaker 1 (03:11:04):
Zorhan Mandami, thirty four year old democratic socialist. He's theist,
not socialist.
Speaker 2 (03:11:09):
Communists are.
Speaker 24 (03:11:10):
He's far worse than some people have compared him to
a left wing version of you, charismatic breaking the old rules.
Speaker 1 (03:11:17):
What do you think about that?
Speaker 2 (03:11:19):
Well, I think I'm a much better looking person than him. Right,
this is just the first answer. I mean, first of
all communists, Right, Yeah, big day for New York today. Yeah,
we're gonna have a communist mayor. And that's gonna be
that today today. Good let him see how great it were.
(03:11:39):
That's today. Guys can affect us all, but sure it
is what I don't understand about. But what I don't
understand about these kind of lessons it's not hidden from
you now, the things that he's promising to New Yorkers.
If you would just do this I'm talking about like
Rick Burgess level and I was terrible in schood Rick
Burgess level research, you would find that these programs he's proposing,
(03:12:02):
they've never worked in the history of the world. No,
not one time does it work? And uh so, do
a little homework there, and uh, I don't even know
who's up for grabs, who's other choices? Red Beret drop out,
Greg told him to drop out.
Speaker 5 (03:12:22):
Yeah, they think that Mom Donnie will not get the
majority voted is they're gonna split and he's gonna win
because they've.
Speaker 8 (03:12:27):
Yeah, Mom Dommy is also on the ballot twice for
some reason. I don't know if y'all had seen that. Literally,
he's on the ballot twice, You're just like, wait a second, wait,
how is that even Okay, Yeah, I'll let's show you
right here.
Speaker 2 (03:12:43):
Boom.
Speaker 8 (03:12:44):
There you go, a for the Democratic choice and then
also Zohan mam Dommy for the working Families choice.
Speaker 2 (03:12:54):
These New York states do that.
Speaker 8 (03:12:55):
I don't understand why they have it like in Democrat,
Republican Conservative, working fan amilies, protect animals, integrity of life.
Speaker 2 (03:13:05):
It doesn't it doesn't make any sense. That ain't right.
Speaker 5 (03:13:08):
No, no, no, I've heard I've heard him talk about
protecting animals, red things, protecting Well, that's that's.
Speaker 2 (03:13:14):
One yeah, right, what he's worried about animals. No, No,
I mean, that's just that's one of the that's what
he said. What Eric Adams, why he's even up that
he dropped out.
Speaker 8 (03:13:26):
Right, Eric Adams, he dropped out and he did that
to hopefully save this election. But he's still on the
ballance So yeah, that's great stuff.
Speaker 2 (03:13:35):
This is this other one today American tennis star raises
eyebrows with dating profile.
Speaker 20 (03:13:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:13:42):
Have y'all seen this? No, this is very uncomfortable. Okay,
first of all, I don't follow tennis, Greg does, but
this is your area. But so I don't know who
Danielle anybody know who Daniel Collins is? No American tennis
star is Jimmy Connor Still you rig Her dating profile
(03:14:03):
has surfaced on social media over the last week, and
she says she's looking to move on from what she
called her boss babe era. She is a professional tennis player.
She would like to be a more traditional wife. Now, okay,
(03:14:23):
she says, I've already had my boss babe era. I'm
looking to raise chickens, do home projects, make freshly baked
sour dough, stay at home mom with a dog, and
hopefully pop out a few babies. Now, I will tell
you this, though, if you're going to be her new
husband and you're going to father her children and Adam,
(03:14:44):
I know you've had enough today. I'm sorry about this.
It has nothing to do with me, Rick, it doesn't
and I want the audience to know that, and there'll
be nothing. She says. If you're going to lie about
how tall you are, please leave me alone. In so much,
so many words, she said, this is a no short
king's zone. Yeah, no short men who have a little
(03:15:07):
bit of that syndrome. Well, no.
Speaker 8 (03:15:11):
Short kings is like a it is actually like an
endearing term. It's like a nice term. It's not like
Napoleon's and.
Speaker 2 (03:15:18):
It's not okay, that's how I tell I'm not heard
it called something else. Yeah, I'm not. I'm not hip
to the short king's group.
Speaker 8 (03:15:25):
Yeah, short kings is like a newer phrase, like if
you're a girl that maybe does have a shorter husband
or boyfriend, like.
Speaker 2 (03:15:33):
And there's nothing wrong with my short king. He's my
short king. Now I hate it even more. Yeah, right,
it's a tall guy. And get and get to making babies,
is what she said. Yeah, basically says, bring something to
the genetic loop here. And I'm not I'm not looking
for any people who lie about their height. Okay, I
mean it's it's there.
Speaker 11 (03:15:53):
It is.
Speaker 2 (03:15:54):
And she says, just d m me, and I'd like
to see your recent baked statement while you're at it. Well, look,
you know what she's cutting to the chase. She said,
I liked it for you to be physically bringing something
to the genetic pool. I like for you to be
a good provider. And and I'm just cutting to the chase.
(03:16:16):
I'm kind of done with my boss babe stage. I
want to make sour dough, have a dog, be a homemaker,
crank out some babies, and so that She's got a
lot of people talking about that I didn't know your
dating profile could just be out there for the whole public.
I guess if you're fishing, I mean you have to
throw out in some public lake, right, I mean, I
(03:16:38):
mean so everybody to see. So so I hope that
works out for her. She sounds like she's straightforward and
cutting to the chase. I kind of I kind of
like that, But I've never heard of this person. So
I don't know. If you're a man out there and
you're single, you want to take this on, what would
you think? I wonder if she's gonna like when she
(03:16:58):
talks about lying about your high, is she going to
go far? Like couldn't you just say if you're over
six foot, I'm good. If you've put it on their
six three and you're like six one and a half. Yeah, yeah,
we don't think somebody post something like that and maintenance?
Oh oh huh? What she says, she's ready to be
out of that stage. She don't want to be maintenance?
Speaker 5 (03:17:15):
Can people who don't don't don't don't post it, just
live it right and find somebody.
Speaker 2 (03:17:20):
If you're saying if I have to tell you, I
won't be dramatic, it means I'm not. I don't be dramatic, right,
So short kings is a good thing. Yeah yeah, I
think I made that. You're you're like Aaron short thing.
I am. I am a short king. Yeah right. I
don't think you're really that short. I don't either, not
as short as it's according to who you're standing next
to you. Yeah. Yeah, well she's five to ten is
(03:17:43):
The Rick Burgess Show.
