Good down on the river.

Speaker 8 (02:17):
She took my rock that she did not tell that
part of the story. So I bit her and I
took her surfboard. I'm letting y'all know you do not
take our rocks. Those are our rocks. You do not
take them. How do you think I'm calling you now?
A girl took my rock. I bit her, pinky off,
and I took her phone. And if you take something,

(02:40):
in mind, I take something of yours.

No, thank the Lord.

Speaker 12 (04:31):
Let's just say mister Lucky takes all back in the day.
Any opening act that you could pick, who would y'all
who would you, Greg Pig for y'all to open.

Speaker 6 (04:42):
Up with just open for them?

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Yes, well they're opening for for us or opening for them.
I think we're opening. We're opening for them, So you
really if you want to make that scenario work. Because
Mister Lucky was was never it was really a cover band.
So the band that Greg and I were in that
was on the road to trying to get there was
a band called silent Rain. Now a lot of the

(05:06):
songs credited to Mister Lucky, our original songs from actually
silent Rain because it all just kind of blended in
after it all the show got started and all that.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
But anyway, I would say that.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
I would love to have opened in that day as
that person that I was then, probably for Van Halen
would have been fantastic.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
Def Leppard would have been fantastic.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
You know, I don't think we really fit even though
I had an appreciation for Tom Petty and Bob Siegert,
I don't think we really fit that bill. You know,
Guns and Roses. It would have been a great one.
I think we would have fit well with them.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, we want to open for these bands. We don't
want them to open for us because we don't want
people to leave after that feelings.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
So probably And of course, Greg, if I really honestly
you're talking about standing in front of a mob A
C D C oh, yeah, that would probably be. Have
you all been to a Guns and Roses concert?

Speaker 6 (06:05):
I haven't, No, I never went to. I never went to.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
They played over here at the horse Track and it
went poorly. Yeah, because somebody hit actual with mud and
he left the state real muddy, rained a lot, actually
got mad, stormed off stage, got off In the real
of my mind. Boy, he's quite the front man. I mean,
he put on a show.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
He was a little odd.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
Now now come out then then then Speedy Speedy if
you could get him to show up. Yeah, and I
want you to know, I know we overlooked the Thompson Twins,
and I apologize. I get that. Yeah, Uh we continue.
Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead, what's up? Boys?

Speaker 13 (06:43):
Yeah, the same way I used to have Bubba read
all the news stories. Can you please just officially make
Speedy read all the music news and just call it
Speedy's music.

Speaker 6 (06:59):
Rick Burgess Show screen phone calls.

Speaker 13 (07:00):
Go ahead, Hey, guys, So I know that everybody's had
some ideas about changing the wheel.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Of and some of them have not been really good.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
But so but I got one.

Speaker 12 (07:12):
So what if?

Speaker 1 (07:12):
What if?

Speaker 10 (07:13):
Speedy? Uh? With lands On Speedy, he has to instead
of walking.

Speaker 13 (07:17):
Out a song, he has into a song dedication in Casey
Cason's voice to the person that spun the wheel.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
Again, not a great idea?

Speaker 14 (07:26):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (07:26):
You just you know, just does that feel like a
good idea?

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Long distance dedication?

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Okay? And I'm starting on Okay, Now, maybe he's right,
you know, maybe that's not a bad idea. I don't
know what you got the underbite? Yeah, say case I
don't think I had an under but I don't remember.
Maybe games from some Suzanne from the Luxington Place. Okay,
I changed my mind. I think I think I think
you had a good idea. What the under Rick Mergers

(07:55):
show on screen? Phone calls twelve years old, tell us, Hey, hey,
Tom Greg said he heard you cheating on us? Yeah,
Tom Greg said he heard you cheating on us. Heard
you heard you on another show?

Speaker 3 (08:12):

Speaker 6 (08:15):
Well, now that ain't how we play here. It's loyal.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah. It better not be our shows on it better
not be shows after hours? Was it after this show's over.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Yeah, Okay.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
On a serious note, I want to thank my wife.

Speaker 11 (08:29):
Greg and Speedy because I did go to the dermatologists
and they found some free cancer cells.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Boy, Tom, say there, Greg I knows. Apparently his wife
had been trying to get him to do it, and
y'all were the y'all were the closer, Tom, Tom, I'm glad.
It's good. Good they caught it early rig Burgers show
on screen phone calls go ahead, it comes from town. Hey,
good morning, Speed.

Speaker 9 (08:55):
Hey.

Speaker 5 (08:55):
I just want to say I really enjoyed your Strange
Encounters podcast.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Thank you.

Speaker 8 (08:59):
And have you seen the interview.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
That Least Trouble has with Tucker Carlson on his new
book Seeing the Supernatural?

Speaker 1 (09:08):
I haven't. I've heard about it, but I haven't seen
it myself.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
No.

Speaker 13 (09:12):
I'll tell you what. It's right in line with what
you're doing right there in the spiritual realm with angels
and demons.

Speaker 10 (09:17):
But I encourage you to see it.

Speaker 13 (09:19):
I think you'll find it very, very interesting, just like
your podcast.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I appreciate you guys.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
At Least Strobe.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
I have great respect for him, and I've used his
book The Case for Christ to help many people with
their You know they you know there's people out there.
They just they say, I want to see, you know,
a case. I want to see the evidence. I need
a little something else is there. And you know Lee
Strobell who went out and gathered all the evidence about
the resurrection, trying to show his wife that her new

(09:48):
devotion to Christ was a waste of time and something
fake as a journalist, only to discover that the mountain
of evidence convinced him that Jesus Christ had resurrected from
the dead and the crucifixion was all real, and he
came to faith in Christ. It has been a great
disciple in making disciples ever since. So if you've never

(10:09):
read The Case for Christ, if you're some maybe someone
you're searching, you're seeking, or you know someone he is,
it's always a great, great resource, The Case for Christ
by Lee Strobels. So yeah, I would love to hear
I'd love to hear that interview. I'll look for that.
Thank you for that. I will come back. We've got
a lot more to cover today and there is a

(10:31):
new Strange Encounters. We recorded it yesterday coming out this weekend.
We talk about a practical approach to Halloween. We talk
about the news and the don'ts when dealing with demons,
and we also take some letters from the audience in
their strange encounter.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who shaved
thirty minutes off his last road trip, Rick Butches, thank.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
You America for being with us today as we roll
through another one. So coming up next hour, Vox seats,

scene a scene from the movie tomorrow, which will include
the scene that I'm supposed to be in, and the
guys will play some of the other people as we
do a table read for this. A lot of you

(11:31):

my better judgment, it happens next hour, So just we'll

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Two minutes? Two minutes?

Speaker 1 (12:00):
I'm yeah too. They don't take two seconds two seconds,
it's quick a minute and a half.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
They want to know how you sleep.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
You know what's your sleeping position or is it stomach
side back, combo? Whatever? You like a mattress. It's soft,
you like one that's medium, You like one that's firm,

guys some questions about football this weekend. We haven't talked
about it a lot because there's a few interesting matchups,
but it's not as action act as we've seen. Uh

(13:02):
old miss Oklahoma eleven o'clock. That that's a that's a
really interesting game. So we gotta look. We look at
that one over here, Georgia Tech undefeated Syracuse.

Speaker 6 (13:13):
Uh, that's it. That's that. No, that's an.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
Interesting coach run sprints after game. What's Syracuse record.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
Three and four?

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Okay? But they all right? I will no, I will
say this, if if you told me this weekend which
one will be the hey birds, watch this game, keep
an eye on it, it would be that one. I agree
for an upset, Yeah, give an eye on that. I
just don't think texts gonna stay under. U c l A.
Didn't have a chance at Indiana. I don't. I think
Indiana is the real deal, and they're getting outstanding quarterback played.

(13:44):
They've got a great coach. U c l A. I
think is just kind of it. It's kind of cute
what they've done, you know, with the new coach and
you know and all that. But but I don't think
they're ready for that. But that that wouldn't surprise me overly. Uh. Greg,
Thanks South Carolina Alabama, Watch out one, watch out reck Slings.
Are you being serious about that? I'm just saying, are

(14:07):
you straight up you're not watch out. That's all I said.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
Uh, Missouri Vanderbilt game day will be there?

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Yeah, how about that? And Nate Bart Bargatsy Bargatsy, We've
heard it in two different ways. How are you usually
the one that arssy? I think he said bargatsy Forgatsy.
Forget Gatsy. Anyway, he's the guest picker. Hilarious, we love him,
funny guy. Missouri Vanderbilt guys, that's a good ball game. Yeah,

(14:33):
I know that's a doozy. That's a two thirty. Who
do you liking that one? I'm going with Vandy, are
you Yeah, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go with Missouri. Well,
you know they're scrappy. I'm gonna go with Missouri. Now, speedy, Texas,
Missippi State. I believe it's homecoming in Mississippi State three fifteen.

(14:55):
How we feeling? Muh, you know, Hell State? Okay, Texas
A and m L s U.

Speaker 6 (15:03):
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Hey, Brian Kelly needs this one all right? This is
at LSU too, right, That is it? That's I think
he needs it. So that's those are all good.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
I'm gonna ask you guys some questions all right, So
I'm gonna talk about hot seats. Oh boy, I tell
you that, Yankee Nowadays, I'm gonna run I'm gonna run
a list.

Speaker 6 (15:24):
And I want you to tell me yes or no?

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Oh okay, all right, Auburn next year Hugh Frees the coach,
Yes or no?

Speaker 6 (15:31):
Yeah, I think so, Adler.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
You know, depends on if he wins that mercer game.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Yeah, they better win the Mercer game. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
This who else you gonna get?

Speaker 15 (15:43):
Right?

Speaker 3 (15:44):
There's that, and then also the whole controversy with the
officials being fired and Auburn being so close and having
a couple of key calls go against them, them hanging
in the game for the first half, and a lot
of these instances hurts the case for firing Freeze And
then who else are you going to get?

Speaker 1 (16:04):
I think he's there, but the seat is really hot
next year just as simple yet, Yes, Brian Kelly, I
need to look at their schedule again. I would say
no way, and then maybe next year be on the
high seat. But the way it goes now, they'll just
they don't care. They'll they'll yankee you at any moment. Stoops,
I say, yes, he'll be there. Huh, Stoops.

Speaker 6 (16:27):
Yes, the Kentucky.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Yes, think you'll still be there. I mean I don't
think that unless he left on his own. I mean,
surely he's done.

Speaker 3 (16:34):
How do you getting fired?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
How do you say? Florida State's coaches name Norvale? Norvale?
Do you think he's there? He's in trouble. I think
he's gone, look good, good early? But does Kentucky upset
Tennessee this weekend? Back to at Kentucky? Possible if Stoops
hasn't lost the team, because I don't watch him enough
to know if he's lost the team, I think there's

(16:58):
no way, but I don't. But if he hasn't, if
he hasn't lost the team, there's a chance. Yeah. I
just don't for some reason, have any confidence in Tennessee
this year. I just right, they're they're not overly trustworthy.
And back to l s U. They have to anger you.
They host Texas A and M, then they're at Alabama,
and then they host Arkansas Western Kentucky and then have

(17:22):
Oklahoma ended up. Yeah, he needs to do well in
those Did you ever think text Nation would a good one?
Did you ever think you would be alive that college
game day would be at Vandy twice in one season.
Now the game they were at Tuscal, but still game

(17:42):
that people that they would pick Vanderbilt's game right no
matter where it is, twice in one season. No, No,
it's crazy. That's so, I don't know. There's some coaches
that that are in a buying right now. And and
and is old Misk gonna lose Kiff to Florida? You know,

(18:03):
we all with Florida Florida, but it's been a while
since that they mattered. I mean, I know he's got
a pretty good deal where he's at.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Is it true old Is it true that Kiffin is
has been like complaining Old Miss fans aren't showing up
for the game.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Well, he got on the student section in a game
when they were playing was it Rutgers, and like nobody
was interested in the game, and they got into buying
in the game for a.

Speaker 6 (18:24):
Little while and the atmosphere was dead.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Wasn't that a safe saving tactic? He got on the
student section at Alabama one time. So you know, if
you're if you're old Miss, you're kind of hoping Kiffin's
daughter talks him into staying again. I know, uh if
he pretty much said he was really seriously thinking about Auburn.
But your point is Florida now a better job than
no Miss?

Speaker 6 (18:44):
I'm not sure it is.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
I don't either think about it. We'll be back.

Speaker 4 (18:48):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Be bold and let
the whole world know that you listen to the Rick
Burgess Show. Cool merchandise is available now. Just go to

gifts coming up because we've added a bunch of new
stuff there at the store at rick burgesshow dot com.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
All right, I've handed everybody their script.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Everybody's starting to look over for our read through coming
up next hour, So everybody has a script in hand,
and I'm sorry about who am I playing again? All right?
So here here are you speed? You have a number
of parts. Okay, you are mister Frederick. Mister Frederick, Uh huh?
Is that on down halfway though?

Speaker 12 (19:43):
Now?

Speaker 1 (19:43):
First page right, you're mister Frederick, was just suggesting. And
then you're James. That Sanchez is dad? Where's James at?

Speaker 6 (19:51):
Those are your two rows.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
I don't have a lot though, now you don't have
a no, your tacoma as well. I am yeah. On
the last page on seven, and you and Greg have
a scene together which should be quite moving.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Right by.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Miss Victoria has a lot.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yeah, your missals Valentine, I should say, you're miss Valentine
and your Victoria.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
All right, So Victoria is the mom.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Yes, Valentine is is one of his teachers. Sanchez teacher, easy,
got it? Okay, can't? So Sanchez, you have a scene
with with missus Valentine and with Takuma, and you've got
a visual some visual acting with me. Coach Harrison. You
don't say anything, You just you just lay on the

(20:34):
ground physical Okay. Well I can do that and and
y'all can get me ready for tomorrow. So that's coming
up next hour. We will jump right into it. The
vox seats will see it live and you'll all hear
it live or watch it live on YouTube.

Speaker 6 (20:48):
So we'll do a little run.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
What was mister okay, mister Frederick. Mister Frederick is the
counselor the school counsel. Okay. James is Sanchez's dad. If
you want to try to get into character. Greg, you're Sanchez,
You're as simple uh out are your teacher and your
Sanchez's mom. Okay, I of course female teacher. Brotherwise, yes,
I am, of course coach Harrison, okay. And also speed

(21:11):
of your tacuma the last takuma tacoma.

Speaker 6 (21:15):
I don't know it's it's it's t a c tecuma. Yeah,
tacuma not like yeah.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
So you're going to be not only you're not You're
not only going to be Sanchez's dad, You're also going
to be what I think is his brother.

Speaker 16 (21:30):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (21:30):
Little man?

Speaker 1 (21:31):
Right like that? And I look up at you. Okay, okay, Greg,
you also have a Greg physically you have an arm
that doesn't work right, but he didn't have Does he
have to do that? Absolutely? They called for it in
the script which one yep? Which one it did? It
doesn't say, well that's important, right is left? I would

(21:52):
also like to.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
I hope everyone did the summer reading, as we will
go ahead and start out with the quias.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Very good, that's not bad, very good, missus Valentine. Now
you're going to be heartbroken as his mama because you
believe in Sanchez. You know my first line here where
I says, I was just suggesting with mister Frederick, what
was he suggesting? Because I no, no, no, I cut
you off. That's it cuts you off.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
Yeah, you say I was just suggesting, and then Miss
Victoria says, well don't.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Yeah. What's happened is is the is the counselor has
suggested that Sanchez needs somebody to be kind of his buddy, huh,
to provide him kind of like he uses the analogy
of gutters at a bowling alley to kind of just
help him if he needs a little help. And his
mom was having none of that. So so from mister
Frederick for a counselor, do you think this would be

(22:42):
like who was just sing?

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Well, well don't mister, that's not bad.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Guys, okay, it's not bad. Gooder guards. Now now you're
for some reason, I don't know why you're doing that.
Or I could go like deep like I was Joe,
we don't no, no, I like what you were starting
out with Thurston Howell the third, but you went too
far with it. You got and you went into snaggle.
I can go, I can go more like it was

(23:09):
just justing no no, yeah, well, well that's not bad yeah,
that that it's state.

Speaker 6 (23:14):
You can stay right there in that in that space
if you.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
And you got to shake your sticky Underby again. When
he does under Sanchez go yes, ma'am. His fallback position, Okay,
there this man, his fallback position is to push that Underby.
He does underbout that nobody's business? Yeah, uh?

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Guards about that? Are you saying gutter guards?

Speaker 1 (23:44):
What it says? Yeah?

Speaker 17 (23:45):
What are we talking?

Speaker 1 (23:46):
Well, what's happening in the Mama is saying san Chez
don't need any gutters like gutter guards? What do you mean?

Speaker 6 (23:53):
And she explains that I was thinking gutter guards could
go crazy.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
And gutter guards.

Speaker 3 (23:59):
You could, but that would be incredibly distracting if it
happened in the movie.

Speaker 6 (24:03):
Yeah, The audience is wondering, is there any help of
an underwater council?

Speaker 3 (24:10):
You don't he doesn't need gutter guards. Well, thank you, okay,
see me after class.

Speaker 18 (24:20):
All right?

Speaker 6 (24:21):
What okay? Now you're sounding like the guy who the
guy's broke in on and the sound.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Do you all want to hear? What about Sanchez? Tannehill
actually speak, Yes.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
Yes, that would be great.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
I need to here he is this is an old
old clip.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Hey, Sanchez.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
This is an old old clip from Talk of Alabama's
courtesy off and it is. We're just gonna hear it
real quick.

Speaker 19 (24:42):
All right, now, we want you to meet Sanchez Tannhill.

Speaker 14 (24:45):
Now.

Speaker 19 (24:45):
Despite having a stroke at six weeks old and staying
in the hospital for over three months, Sanchez proved to
both the doctors and our community that he could be
the voice of potential. He's a graduate of Thompson High School,
and he's recording his third gospel album. Now, statistically, Sanchez,
you were not supposed to not supposed to talk.

Speaker 9 (25:05):
Here you are.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yeah, there you go go ahead, go with them, there
you go, it's ma'am. Yeah, okay, we're going to have
him on the show after when the movie gets ready
to come. I can't wait to meet him in person. Yeah,
I know, that's awesome. Well I didn't know you warriors.
Right now, I'm starting to get a little bit of
ansied about meeting all them tomorrow.

Speaker 6 (25:28):
But well, but you'll know your lines. Yeah, well apparently
so do you remember it?

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Go yes, ma'am, Okay, it was more like, no, it
wasn't speedy.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
What he did was right, you're doing weird stuffy again. Ma'am,
should I go hot, like really hotly? I means Valentine? Yes, okay,
it's Valentine, your English teacher. If it doesn't say English
or Valentine on your schedule, you were in the wrong.

Speaker 1 (26:00):
Play very good. Okay, that's very good, missus Valentine.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
All right, see me after class, mister.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Okay, I just wanted to make to get you get
a spanking no go.

Speaker 6 (26:13):
Overleas where were starting?

Speaker 1 (26:15):
I didn't know that. I didn't know I could sing
san jazz? Ye? Is it performing album?

Speaker 16 (26:20):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (26:20):
And please let me hear it? All right, here we go.
God did his name of the song. There's a there's
a is he in the chat? Okay, Chazz, we're probably
gonna get for copyright here?

Speaker 1 (26:33):
You think you rock this song?

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Maybe this is his song?

Speaker 1 (26:36):
A few words?

Speaker 3 (26:37):
God did it?

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Hey words? Oh bunt mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
What do you think? Let's go.

Speaker 18 (26:43):
I'm the key, praying I'm the key, say I'll be
going there, pres Oh yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Man, I'm going I don't get to sing and saying
go ahead, Greg thinking I'm going on press. Oh yeah,
good job, saying chest yes, yeah, I'll tell you one thing.
You get hurt though it ain't on me. It ain't
on you, it ain't just let him play all.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
This is a funny line in the script, as Miss Valentine,
I say no headphones or CD Man's or whatever in class.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
That's headphones.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
So I got headphones on.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
That's funny, just her calling it c D Man's instead.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
What a story. I wish Rick would have told us
about all this.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
Doing a movie. You know, I've never been a big
detail guy.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
You know you're in I thought he was in Dodgeball.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
You've never been after school man. You need the details.
Keep in mind. That's why I have to have people
help me keep in mind. On my calendar, all it
says is movie shoot. I mean, I mean, I know
I'm supposed to, but I'm learning what a testimony is
a story. I'm learning. Thank you. We'll come back when

(27:55):
we come back. Did you see where Michael Jordan's at
sixty two is nervous about shooting free throws because he says,
no one knows how long it spins. As I've shot
a free.

Speaker 6 (28:09):
Throw, yes, it's nothing, but ned like so.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
We all think that he's just playing basketball every day.
But I imagine he's done.

Speaker 8 (28:15):
Dad.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
There's something in front of these kids that he didn't
want to let him down. We'll talk about that next.

Speaker 4 (28:20):
This is the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of The Rick Burgers.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
Show, the hardest working men in the business, The Rick
Bridgers Show.

Speaker 1 (28:51):
Nobody can keep our pace, I mean, just out working
the competition. Thanks for being with us as we roll
through another show, old vox seats fill up. Coming up
next hour, we will meet those in the vox seats,
the ones who desire to be on the mic. We'll
also have a burgess ball battle coming up and next segment,

(29:12):
once we get them settled in, we will begin our
read through for the movie shoot tomorrow as the guys
will help me get ready for the role. And I
can't wait. And I appreciate y'all taking time to do this.
I'm sure we want to help. We want to. I'm sure.
I'm sure this decision won't be anything I'll regret. Now
five five p's. You want to show up prepared? Yeah,

(29:33):
the a lot of you. I literally see people on
text nations saying I have a conflict. I'm gonna miss
this said. Look, that's what the podcast is and the
archives for in YouTube. You just go back and catch
it later if you miss the run through coming up
next hour while it's happening live, which you know shouldn't do,
but sometimes you can't help it. That's that's the beauty

(29:53):
of the archive.

Speaker 6 (29:54):
Go back and get it. That's why you should be
following that podcast archive.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
That's why you should be subscribed to the YouTube channel,
and then you go get the archive on your own
time so you don't miss it. That's the beauty of
the technology of the day. We are we're blessed to
be in it. And God did it. As the name
of the movie, yes it is. And the song he wrote,
yes right, that's right, Yes, it's really a miracle. Michael
Jordans Michael Jordan at sixty two years old. He's got

(30:21):
a great story about the last time that he touched
a basketball. As Greg said, you know he's involved in
NASCAR and all that. He's not out there shooting baskets
every day.

Speaker 7 (30:29):
No.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Here he is smoke a cigar talking about being nervous
about shooting from free throws.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Here and this is a courtesy of the NBA on NBC.
This is like a real formal sit down interview.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
So just wanted to me. Okay, here we go.

Speaker 3 (30:45):
And heah grandkids talking about staying at a guy's house
and I was.

Speaker 15 (30:50):
Beating Greek and thank him for allowing me to stay
in the house. And he had a basketball court. He says,
I want you to shoot one of the free throw
I said, reallylready paid for the already paid for.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
The house, Like you got to see me.

Speaker 15 (31:04):
So when I stepped up to shoot your free throw,
it's the most nervous I've been in ye, stop it
in years.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Stop it.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Come on.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
The reason being is those kids.

Speaker 15 (31:16):
Heard the stories from the parents about what I did
thirty years ago, right, so their expectation is thirty years prior.
And I haven't touched the basketball. I hope you swished it, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
And the footage of him swishing it's pretty cool.

Speaker 6 (31:34):
It is, okay, And so they have footage.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Yeah, he wasn't lying. Here is the actual He's actually
telling some very interesting facts about the free throw line
and the semi circle that you see above it and
all that. I'm actually back it up just ten seconds here.
You're going to talk about why the lines are where
they are.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Moved it out because it will look at you. Yeah,
looks back.

Speaker 17 (31:59):
In a circle with that.

Speaker 7 (32:00):
You remember the Senate circle, they didn't have it. Well, chamber,
you should take a drive, kick off and lift. That
was a free throw. So now you can't start to
shot outside the center circle, and you can't break his
line until he get the rim.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
By the way, a little.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
Trivia, Oh, please make it.

Speaker 8 (32:33):
Nervous.

Speaker 6 (32:34):
So what is he doing to these people's house?

Speaker 1 (32:35):
Is it an airbnb? And they showed up because he
said he paid for the house. Does you mean he's
renting it? I guess so, yeah, yeah, of course you
know you got Michael Jordan went in your house.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
You you're gonna go by, You're gonna say, hey, I've
got some kids with some twenty three jerseys on.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Yes, but you think about what he's saying is you know,
they're remember me thirty years ago. I don't. I haven't
been working on my free throws. And you know the
worst thing could happen is for Michael Jordan to miss
a free throw.

Speaker 3 (33:02):
Yeah, tamper with the memories.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
He goes on to talk about how he wishes he
could still play. If you guys want to hear that,
this is a kind of a view into a guy
that doesn't doesn't speak publicly very much.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Okay.

Speaker 7 (33:16):
I got the most gratifying that that made my whole
week is that I was able to please that kid,
not knowing if I could.

Speaker 15 (33:27):
So, you let us bring a camera to to your
place here to talk to you about basketball.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Why do you want to share what you're thinking about basketball?

Speaker 8 (33:34):
Now?

Speaker 1 (33:36):
It's pay it forward? You know.

Speaker 15 (33:38):
I have the obligation to the game of basketball, not financially,
I'm okay. I mean I think more or less from
from as a basketball player is to be able to
pass on messages of success and dedication to the game
of basketball.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Still love it, love it like you wouldn't believe.

Speaker 15 (33:57):
I mean, you know, honestly, I wish I could take
a magic pill put on short to go out and
play the game of basketball today.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
About that? Wow, and Rose would let you win if
as long as you were willing to, you know. So
they said the house was back when the Ryder Cup
was going on and he was he was renting. The
house always goes back to the Rider, So I just
think that's when it was right. So uh so, yeah,
we talked about that earlier about the NBA there I mean,

(34:28):
there's some there's some trouble, and there's some there are
some clips to C and two D. There there's some
clips that are now now they're looking since they do
know that it looks apparent now that Rosier was absolutely
doing what he could do with the bets that were
about him personally and maybe trying to work on games. Uh,

(34:51):
no doubt this has been going on. We know that
Chauncey Phillips is in a lot of trouble. A billups,
I mean, there's a lot of trouble. But they're now
looking back and here's a couple of them. Here's Durant. Yeah,
this looks a little sketch, sketchy. It's an old clip,
but it looks a little sketchy.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
Yes, this is resurfaced majorly. You're gonna see Durant and
this guy in the stands, just some random guy in
the stands. The guy in the stands and Durant are
looking at each other directly in the eyes. The guy
in the stands just an obvious signal. He touches the
top of his hat. He does, and Durant goes, can't
do it, man, can't do it. The guy goes, no,
you have to do it.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
You have to do it. Now.

Speaker 3 (35:27):
I'm not saying this proves Durant is in on any
gambling or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
What are you saying?

Speaker 3 (35:31):
But what are you trying to say? It looks very weird,
especially considering what we know now about what has happened
in the NBA in the past. Durant's like, can't do it, man,
can't do it, and the guys, this is old. This
is old. I actually think this is maybe three or
four years old before AI got this good because I
do think that we might have even played this on
the show.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
By the way, what would be the other options? He's
touching his hat for what other I'm not saying that
I don't believe it. I'm just saying what other reason
would be we had something. It's clearly a signal. What's
the logo? The logo on his hat? Yeah right, it
could be come sign my hat. It could be yeah,
he's got just opposing team's hat. It's guys.

Speaker 3 (36:15):
It just it looks very weird. Now, this could just
be some random fan that yells to Durant, hey, man,
I got you on the over man, I need you
to go over come on. I got a bet going
on here? Please, you know, like it could be it
could be not involved.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Yeah, well, you know, don't forget what Nick notices player
did to him in Blue Chip, right. I wish I
could see the logo in his hat. It's almost like
he's is he trash? It's almost set up that looks stupid.

Speaker 7 (36:40):
I know.

Speaker 6 (36:41):
So what is D here too?

Speaker 1 (36:43):
D is Gary Peyton the second?

Speaker 8 (36:45):
Next?

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Yeah, Gary Peyton the second. The cover was minus eleven
point five, and you can see it's it's a non
consequential game.

Speaker 5 (36:55):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Well, the the the score is one fifteen to one
twenty seven. Golden State is beating Washington. On the sideline,
Gary Payton the second is like freaking out and all
his teammates all around him are like, oh no, the spread.
The spread, we got to think because it's what they
It's what it looks like they're doing. Now, as the

(37:15):
game is wrapping up, you're going to see a three
throw or a three pointer get hit. Busts the spread.
Right here, the game ends three to two. One hits,
a three makes the uh it kills the spread.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
There.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
So now Washington over eleven point five and you see
Gary Payton the second looking at the scoreboard like oh
my goodness, Oh my goodness, Oh my goodness, and things
like this don't make sense if you aren't gambling.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
This is why would he care about the score because
it's meaningless, right, I mean as far as he wins
a game. Yes, yeah, Well, the FBI said that this
is just the beginning. I mean, this could get a
lot deeper, and there's a lot of nervous I'm sure
there's a lot of nervous people out there right now
going oh no, yeah, this is huge. Well, there's no
doubt they found something because the stuff that is involving

(38:03):
Chauncey Billups and Damon Jones and Rogier.

Speaker 6 (38:06):
I mean that that's really that's pretty yeah, pretty clear.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Steven Asmith claims this is Trump's revenge because of the
NBA's left wing activism. But this investigation started during the
Biden administration, has nothing.

Speaker 7 (38:20):
To do with that.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yeah, Cash purtail, So that was that's a crazy comment.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
And the w NBA has also committed statement saying they
have not been missing shots. On perfect.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
Top of the Hour, we'll run through the movie scene
and we'll meet the vox seats and we got a
burgess ball battle coming later.

Speaker 4 (38:40):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 20 (38:46):
Well, come to the Rick Burgess Show, the voice of
reason for a reason.

Speaker 1 (38:58):
Hey, this is Rick and you are listening to the
best of the Rick Burgers Show. Here we go, Here
we go, brand new hour. Thanks for being with us. Speedy,
Greg Adler all here. The vox seats are working their
way in settling in for another hour. We will now
run through a couple of scenes.

Speaker 6 (39:18):
For the movie tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
As I'm prepared to play Coach Harrison and Independent Films tomorrow,
My shooting time is tomorrow. Got to get ready. So
the guys have agreed to help me prepare and run
my lines a little bit. So Speedy, Greg Adler have
all been assigned their parts. We discussed that earlier. Wow,
and let's run through it. Guys, get We'll do a

(39:41):
little table read. Oh, Speedy, I may need for the
one of the final scene. Not the final scene you
and Greg as the two brothers are the final scene,
but and the final scene that I'm in. There is
one time that Greg as Sanchez is going to be
on the ground, so we mean late on the ground. Yes,

(40:04):
so he's been knocking up, He's been knocked down.

Speaker 6 (40:08):
So what I wanted to do.

Speaker 1 (40:09):
Is I wanted to knock down Well, no, he's been
knocked down by a play that's just been running because
he's not paying attention on the sidelisle blessed her and
he was just down the sideline got rent over. Yeah,
because I'm trying to keep him out trouble, because I
don't want to do this as Coach Harrison, but I
feel pressure to do it by his dad and by
everybody else's James, even though I've could have said, if
something happens to him and on me, Yeah, we got that.

Speaker 6 (40:30):
But anyway, this is a movie you're in. Yes, a movie.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
I mean the Rick is practicing for his role tomorrow,
so we don't hold him up. All right. So the
first scene because I thought these scenes needed to set
up so people understood Coach Harrison's dilemma. Okay, So I
wanted to set these up, and I've been thinking I've
been trying to take on this coach in my mind
and this dilemma. So it says the first scene will

(40:54):
be between you. Speedy is mister Frederick the counselor and
Victory Sanchez's mother played by Adler was a little type casting,
so so I want you to listen to this. This
is this, This is the scene. Okay, in the counselor's office.
Scene one, getting into character here, Victoria played by Adler,
almost in her Sunday best sits across, sits across from

(41:19):
mister Frederick.

Speaker 6 (41:20):
You speed, that's okay, that's in a wrinkled polo.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Of course.

Speaker 6 (41:24):
Of course you know Philip Miller. Tired, Peter, you too, Greg.

Speaker 1 (41:34):
Listen to this. Listen to this description of mister Frederick.
He's tired, slow, oh top casting. You get this mostly
not the person you'd imagine when thinking about a school counselor. Okay,
it's the opposite, all right, so anti counselor, so Victoria,
No he's not. So we're in the counselor's office. Victoria.

(41:56):
Now let me set the scene here. Victoria. Your first
line is because you're wanting one to know Sanchez doesn't
need to be treated special because of his challenges, and
mister Frederick thinks differently.

Speaker 6 (42:10):
That's a good mom, So Victoria, you will start the scene.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
Okay's and I'm tired.

Speaker 3 (42:20):
Sanchez is perfectly capable of keeping up with anyone in
his class. Mentally, his physical setbacks have nothing to do
with his learning. I was just suggesting they well, don't
nothing wrong, nothing, nothing wrong with my baby.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
I like to see that a little higher. Nothing wrong
with my baby.

Speaker 17 (42:39):
Nothing wrong with my baby.

Speaker 3 (42:41):
He doesn't need any Gutta gods, gutta god. You know
the thing that keeps the ball from going in good
from good and going in the gutter.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Okay, yes, ma'am this guy.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
Okay, all right, Okay, it hard to switch and read it. Okay,
that's all right. Your female voice is dead on the Okay,
all right. You're now becoming you are You're a little creepy.
You're now becoming the teacher Missus Valentine.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Okay, the heart teacher everybody wants.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Okay, you're in You're in your late forties. You're a
veteran teacher. You're cool, calm, and you speak with authority.
Kids sit on desks talking, catching up, comparing shoes and clothes. Greg,
you will play Sanchez in the scene. Where is that at?

Speaker 6 (43:27):
You don't see your line?

Speaker 1 (43:27):
I got one, says Sanchez. Al Right, all right, so
there we go. So well, I like a highlight. Missus
Valentine's mister, Missus Valentine, you get us started.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Good morning, good morning, good morning. Sounds like go back,
go go ahead and find a seat. Please, welcome, welcome back,
Welcome back.

Speaker 6 (43:49):
The students fall in line. He's finding a desk to
sit at.

Speaker 1 (43:52):
Missus Valentine begins writing her name on the board. I,
miss Valentine, your English teacher.

Speaker 3 (43:57):
You're hot English teacher. And if that doesn't say England,
you're Valentine on your schedule. You are in the wrong place.
Now go ahead and speak up now so you we
can get you where you need to be.

Speaker 20 (44:08):
Now.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Missus Valentine turns to see Sanchez standing in the doorway.
The whole class is looking at him as well.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
Well, yes, you tall, drink of water.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
I think I'm supposed to be in here. She notices
the curled arms. Great curled arm.

Speaker 3 (44:29):
He has a curled because he had a stroke. Is
this is a story about resilience and God doing it?

Speaker 1 (44:36):
She notices the curled arm. His his reserve statue and
the headphone's.

Speaker 3 (44:42):
It's not a statue, He's not a statue.

Speaker 1 (44:45):
Stature stature, the headphones ges headphones on.

Speaker 3 (44:50):
Okay, okay, then come on in, big boy and find
a seat. It's the first day, so.

Speaker 6 (45:00):
You told me not.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
Yeah, okay, then come on in. I'll find you a seat,
big boy. It's the first day, so I'll let it slide,
but effect you on time tomorrow, mister, yes, ma'am. So
many lines okay, and no headphones or CD man's or
whatever in class, or you'll be seeing me after class, mister.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
Yes ma'am. Okay, Graig very good.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Yes, Sanchez makes his way. Okay, what you're the narrator?

Speaker 21 (45:28):
Rich?

Speaker 1 (45:29):
Okay. Sanchez makes his way to the rows of desk.
All eyes are on him, he can feel them staring
at his curled arm. Greg keep the arm curled, the
slight limp on his left side. Missus Valentine can sense
it too, and quickly snaps the class to attention.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
I hope everybody did the summer reading as well as we.

Speaker 17 (45:50):
I hope everyone did the summer reading.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
As we will go ahead and start out with a
quiz and if you didn't. If you didn't, I'm gonna
give you spanking with.

Speaker 22 (45:59):
A ruler that's not in the character that that teacher
doesn't have a collective gas from the class classless gas
and they look around at one another, confused, gotcha, now
a collective cyberly, Sanchez setts get your arm up.

Speaker 1 (46:19):
Sanchez settles into his desk. A brief smile from missus Valentine.
It hits Sanchez, she did that on purpose. It gets
a small grin from him. Maybe high school won't.

Speaker 4 (46:30):
Be so bad.

Speaker 3 (46:32):
What a feel good scene.

Speaker 1 (46:34):
Now we go to the entrance of what some people
are calling the pinnacle star of the show. Coach Here,
coach Coach Harrison Sanchez.

Speaker 6 (46:42):
We're now later in the day.

Speaker 1 (46:44):
Sanchez sits on a small set of wooden bleachers pushed
against a cinderblock wall. The wall has a faded painted
mural that reads Selma Bears. Sanchez Is dad, played by Speedy,
is talking to the coach, eyes cutting back to him periodically. Oh,
I'm not asking him to start. Just let him practice.

Speaker 17 (47:06):
The cole has been walking.

Speaker 1 (47:07):
With it.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
And some good.

Speaker 10 (47:16):
All right.

Speaker 1 (47:17):
Next, yeah, comes what we're working on. Right, let's just
come to Petty. Well done? All right, let's coach Harris
has been the bust in and say, Coach.

Speaker 6 (47:31):
Harris has got to gather.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
Say okay, So I was a little taken back by
speaking James speaking of Bears. I'd like to see Sanchez
his dad.

Speaker 3 (47:40):
I'd like to talk to him after class.

Speaker 1 (47:41):

Yeah, my towel set is back.

Speaker 1 (48:52):
They ran out, but they're back in stock, not for long,

(49:31):
all right, because frankly I was taken back back. Oh really? Yes, okay,
so you've really been working on your part because you're
fixing to come in. Yeah, you're set up the scene
again where the bleachers are. Sanchez sits on a small
set of wooden bleachers pushed against the cinder block wall.
The wall has a faded painted mural that reads Selma Bears.
Sanchez's dad is talking to the coach, eyes, cutting back

(49:55):
to him periodically.

Speaker 23 (49:56):
Oh, I ain't asking him to play, just let him practice.
The comb has been working with him some. I mean,
it's doing some good.

Speaker 1 (50:07):
If he gets hurt, this better not blow up in
my face.

Speaker 17 (50:10):
Oh coach, he won't.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
He just needs to, you know, somewhere he can fit in.
I mean, just to be normal.

Speaker 6 (50:16):
A whistle blows okay, okay, hurt my ears.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
Sorry, that was my whistle soccer I found it.

Speaker 1 (50:25):
I think I need to go wireless here to get okay,
I need I need you out here.

Speaker 6 (50:30):
Yeah, okay, all right, here we go.

Speaker 1 (50:32):
All right, can you hear me? Test one choo to
go up a little bit. Test one choo, Test one
che test one choo. That's it, all right, So Greg,
come out here to the to the face, all right.
So that's the rug those all right.

Speaker 6 (50:44):
So now we're out on the field.

Speaker 1 (50:46):
We're setting up there, and you're on the sidelines right
now with you to stand just stand right over here.
You're standing on the sidelines. Now, what's gonna happen is
is I'm on the field right now. So we're out
there on the field, and and so this is my
next line. Okay, are you al ready all right?

Speaker 3 (51:01):
Try to face the cameras. Not to have your backs
to the cameras. Yeah, just just to have not have
your total back to the cameras right here. Yeah, just
don't have your back to the cameras the whole time.

Speaker 24 (51:12):
Yeah, for the love of Williams, let me try it again.
For the love of Williams, that's not your assignment. You
got the near side linebacker. The guard pulls around the end.

Speaker 1 (51:25):
The players are in shells, shoulder pads, helmets, and shorts.
First team offense scrimmaging against first team defense. The subs
all stand on the sidelines. The subs would include Sanchez.
Coach Harrison walks the offense through the play as the
others look on. Not Sanchez. He's lost in his own world.
Greg lost in his own world, staring off into the distance.

(51:45):
Can I interject something? He needs to get his arm up.

Speaker 6 (51:47):
If you're supposed to.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
Go, you have a bad arm.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
There It is right there, right there.

Speaker 6 (51:52):
That's it, right there, Okay, all right?

Speaker 1 (51:54):
Four ninety four yet sweep on one running again. The
whistle blows, oh, sorry, whistle, and the offense gets into formation.
The center snaps the ball, turns and hands to the receiver.
Motioning across the back field full speed. He runs to
the sideline, trying to get to the edge. The pulling
guard misses the block. The outside Russier is in full pursuit.

(52:16):
Everyone on the sidelines clears out as the two players
speech ward a collision.

Speaker 6 (52:21):
Everyone that is, except Sanchez.

Speaker 1 (52:24):
The receiver and defensive players slammed together, knocking Sanchez down.
You're down, Greg, and not knocks you out. Okay, you're out,
all right. So the blue sky is soon shadowed by
a blurry image of coach Harrison surrounded by players.

Speaker 17 (52:41):
What in the hell were you doing?

Speaker 2 (52:45):
Why didn't you get out of the way?

Speaker 6 (52:47):
What's in the movies?

Speaker 7 (52:48):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (52:49):
Sanchez can't respond, just start breathing heavily, trying to get
air back in his lungs.

Speaker 6 (52:54):
He just lays on the ground, wheezing.

Speaker 1 (52:56):
Y'all back up and give him some room. All right,
get up, come on, let's get you off the field.
That's it for you today, Sanchez.

Speaker 6 (53:07):
And that's the end of that scene scenes scene?

Speaker 1 (53:12):
Does he still laying there? Don't get up, Sanchez? You
can get Sanchez, can get up now?

Speaker 6 (53:16):
Oh yeah, this is the final scene.

Speaker 1 (53:18):
Okay, yeah, all right, So wow, that was really good
you guys. That was the final man. Yeah, Greg, I'll
tell you your acting has Yeah that's let me tell
you you've been good. You've been knocked out before. Yeah,
uh so. So now Sanchez sits on the bleachers, speedy,

(53:40):
You now play the brother Takuma okay, and Sanchez, you
got my head. You you've been through all this.

Speaker 6 (53:46):
You're feeling kind of down.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (53:48):
He watches his practice wines down.

Speaker 1 (53:50):
He still has his pads on his head, looks like
a turtle peeping from its shield. And then and then
Tacoma says to him, hey, wait, and.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
Then miss Valentine during all this is in it stands
sipping on lemonades, dabbing the sweat that's beating up off
of her chest, off of her face, off of her forehead.

Speaker 1 (54:08):
Now he's rewriting up.

Speaker 6 (54:09):
Yeah, you told me not to reriding. Sorry, okay, all
right because Tacoma. Yeah, to you, to your little brother Greg.

Speaker 3 (54:17):
And it's Takuma, not Tacoma. See off the truck.

Speaker 17 (54:21):
He what's up? Little man?

Speaker 1 (54:23):
Sanchez looks up to see his older brother Takuma standing
above him. Embarrassed, he just lets his head sink.

Speaker 17 (54:28):
Why are you over here, sulky coach?

Speaker 1 (54:31):
Coach told me that I got to watch from here.
Tacoma picks Sanchez head up, pick his head.

Speaker 17 (54:36):
Up, baby football, And for you just because I played
on me and you got to.

Speaker 6 (54:44):
But Dad wants me to.

Speaker 17 (54:47):
Dad just wants you to fit in. But if this
ain't the fit. Try something, hell, leave that.

Speaker 7 (54:54):
Up to me.

Speaker 1 (54:55):
I Sanchez looks at the ground, nods his head in agreement.

Speaker 17 (55:02):
Now you want to go get a sack of crystals?

Speaker 6 (55:07):
Since just looks up, I can't help he can't.

Speaker 1 (55:09):
Don't hold back to green and scene.

Speaker 3 (55:12):
Wow chills, I have chills.

Speaker 2 (55:14):
Oh my goodness, that was so good.

Speaker 1 (55:17):
Oh my goodness. I stand in front of a large
bulletin board in the hallway. Yeah yeah, we're not doing
all you're you're good God. So look, guys, really good job.
That really helped me.

Speaker 6 (55:27):
Are you ready?

Speaker 1 (55:28):
That helped me. I'd like to go through his lines.

Speaker 6 (55:31):
Just just go through my as year I see one
more time, just you and me, James.

Speaker 1 (55:34):
I'm gonna try my my James Okaames, I'm gonna I'm
gonna try.

Speaker 6 (55:38):
I'm gonna try my rewrot.

Speaker 3 (55:40):
I can make you feel bad a sanchiz.

Speaker 1 (55:42):
Okay, okay, he's added a character, James, just run this
gain and now I'm gonna try.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
With with my re right.

Speaker 1 (55:54):
All right, so all right, so we're coming. I'm coming up.
I'm not asking him to stalk.

Speaker 17 (56:01):
Just let.

Speaker 2 (56:04):
Stop it, stop it saying chance.

Speaker 23 (56:11):
I'm not asking him to start just a lot of practice.
So Comba's been working with him, so.

Speaker 2 (56:20):
It does some good.

Speaker 6 (56:21):
Let me tell you the truth, and I don't think
you can handle the truth.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
If he gets hurt, it ain't on.

Speaker 17 (56:26):
Me, it won't.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
He just needs somewhere to fit in or just be normal.
Don't you think that?

Speaker 6 (56:35):
Don't you think that?

Speaker 1 (56:36):
My rewrite there, you can't handle the truth.

Speaker 3 (56:41):
And then Speedy's line doesn't make sense.

Speaker 17 (56:44):
It won't.

Speaker 3 (56:44):
It doesn't make sense if you don't say that your
line right, right?

Speaker 1 (56:47):
But I said it ain't on me.

Speaker 6 (56:48):
It won't be on me, right, he says it won't.

Speaker 3 (56:51):
It don't. It didn't make sense the way you Okay, so.

Speaker 1 (56:53):
I gotta stay with it. But blow up in my
face yours is not bad. But that that's not how
they may let you change faster, be faster like hey I,
but hey face, I.

Speaker 6 (57:04):
Ain't asking him to start. Just a lot of practice
to call him.

Speaker 8 (57:07):
Been working on me.

Speaker 1 (57:08):
It's gone some good, alright, but it better not blow
up in my face.

Speaker 5 (57:11):
Oh we won't.

Speaker 6 (57:12):
We just need somewhere to be to.

Speaker 2 (57:13):
Just be normal.

Speaker 1 (57:14):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (57:15):
Okay, Oh this screaming that's got me? How bothered by that?

Speaker 1 (57:20):
Not in the script. You're really taking this, missus Valentine.

Speaker 3 (57:26):
Sell tickets.

Speaker 4 (57:27):
Yeah, I'm a married man, Victoria, my mom, this is
the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of the Rick Berger Show.

Speaker 4 (57:44):
America sleeps well every night just knowing these four men
are on the air The Rick Burger Show.

Speaker 1 (57:53):
Thank you for being with us America and guys, I
think I'm asking saying thank you to you for I
think for helping me get ready for tomorrow. I don't
know if you got to holler that much now, Yeah,
well that's what I don't know. I like the character,
I don't know. I don't know if they wrote it
that way. I don't That's what I have to find out.
I said what I wish they did. Like for the counselor,

(58:14):
it tells you, you know, wrinkle Polo, he's tired. Mostly
not the person you could imagine, you know, blah blah blah.
It would you would think. For coach it would be
you know, over aggressive mallers, you know, or gentle I
don't have any like do I read the line? Okay,
but if he gets hurt, it better not blow up
in my face. If he gets hurt it better not

(58:35):
blow up in my face. I say, I prefer that.
I think, even though I don't think that's what they want.
I think they want you more like Dan Devine and Rudy.

Speaker 5 (58:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
You remember he didn't like Rudy and he didn't want
to deal with him. But he didn't really scream at you.

Speaker 3 (58:48):
He didn't like yell in his face or yell at
other people talking about talk about his.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
Mom, stuff like that. I don't think. I don't think though.
If you see written for the Coach for the love
of yeah, I mean he's mad. He's mad, Williams. That
is not your Signmit, you take the near side linebacker.
This guard pulls around the end. Yeah, I think you're right.
I ride four ninety four jets sweep on one run
it again, or it could be run again almost like disgusted,

(59:14):
like for the love man for the love Williams.

Speaker 3 (59:18):
And yes, that's good. And you don't need to be
at the same level the entire time, Like if you're
gonna like to run it again, that needs to be bigger.
The rest of it needs to be small.

Speaker 1 (59:27):
All right, four ninety four Jets sweep on one, run
it again. You know how you like that. You give
me Valentine back in here. You know, miss Valentine is
miss Valentine, missus Valentine something.

Speaker 3 (59:40):
That he needs a paddling because they're not doing their
child right.

Speaker 1 (59:43):
Okay, all right. By the way, people said you made
them wreck their card trap. Sorry, okay, all right. So,
and there's no way, thank you when it says, what
what in the h double hockey sticks, there's no way
he's being nice right there, double hockey stick.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
You should say that in the movie.

Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
You're right, it fits, though, What in the heck are
you doing so that don't fit? Why didn't you get
out of the way, Sanchez? It's sorry, Coach.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
Was in the name of miss Valentine's sun dresser.

Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
You knew it. I don't know, San Chaz.

Speaker 6 (01:00:19):
Are you distracted looking at missus Valentine?

Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
Quit putting out the vibe in the stands? I thought
I was staring out to space.

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
Why don't you, coach, and quit looking at the woman
in the stand.

Speaker 17 (01:00:29):
That's good, thank you, Jim.

Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
That's my boy.

Speaker 6 (01:00:33):
Y'all back up and give him some room. Right, let's
get him up, Let's get him off the field.

Speaker 1 (01:00:37):
You're done today, You're done it's good. I'm mad like that.
I'm living you. You're not going to be liked it.
If they want you to be aggressive, you're not going
to be liked in this movie. Well if he's overcome
a lot ton be standing there and you're yelling, I
don't think I'm supposed to come up come across as
a hero in the movie. No, I think you're right.
And this is for those who just out of here
or whatever it was. This is the Sanchez story. Yeah,

(01:00:59):
Sanchez and he overcome. He overcame ill, stroke and everything
to the doctor didn't think he would walk. I'm doctor
had him blind. Hey missus Valentine, I'm gonna have to
ask you to leave.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
Santest might not need gutter guards, but I need gutter
gods to keep my mind out of the good of
looking at you boys.

Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Okay, all right, you know we're going to find out
that the real person that you're portraying like the Sunday
Scool teachers. Yeah, added I hope. Yeah, Adler, you definitely
have decided how you're going to portray her.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
Well, you know you read into the line, you know,
have you ever heard you bring it to life?

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
Almost like you're just talking him to where other positions
can't hear you. But yet you're mad, like for the love. Man.

Speaker 2 (01:01:42):
If you don't get this right Williams, how'd you like that?

Speaker 20 (01:01:47):
No?

Speaker 6 (01:01:47):
I think you had. I want you to be not
your assignment.

Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
You take the near shot, linebacker, the guard pulls around
the end's run it again, rinting again. What am I
the snaggle tooth again? What are you going back to that? No,
I'm just saying that was a murcatroit. Well, you know
so much like run it again. It's ridiculous, you know,
I see it as I right, four ninety four jets
sweep on one. Paul's run it again. Yeah, we're gonna

(01:02:15):
run this till y'all run it and your sleep.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Yeah, run it again because I'm running again in my mind.

Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Okay, okay, it's Valentine. Just why are you at practice?

Speaker 14 (01:02:24):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
It's blind side in practice?

Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Check your phones because I'm texting you during the game.

Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
This is blind just like Bullock.

Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
That's Sandra Buock is my motivation for this, right, I
can tell. I can tell. So So anyway, thanks you guys.
I think if I was allowed to do this tomorrow,
I can't wait till the finished products put together, that
probably had to cut every bit of his thing, every bed.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
We just can go without a coach.

Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
Yeah, we have no coach or even the team. You
know what they'll say once again, Greg, just like in rushing,
when it's all saiden, I'll basically be saying nope, yeah, yeah,
I know the thing that you're get down to run
it again.

Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
It ain't on me, run it again.

Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
No. You know that happens a lot of movies, you know,
watching watching Having sons who do this for a living
is having room full. I can't tell how many times, like, uh,
my oldest son has told us, Hey, I'm in such
and such whatever and and by the time it's get
ready to come, he goes, hey, by the way, my
thing's been cut, Yeah you know, or hey I thought
I had two lines. I've got like three words now yeah.

(01:03:31):
So you so you never know, yeah you don't and
uh and so it'll it'll be uh interesting day. Uh
my youngest son, who is actually a movie producer and
has his own company, he's actually gonna be working on
the crew too. So there is a little bit of
motivation to try to show him that he shouldn't have
overlooked me in his last movie. I've done told him

(01:03:52):
when he came to my house that day to do
a little feminine if you ever need a carjack victim,
I know. He said he'd keep me in mind somewhere. Yeah,
you're your son, Chez was not bad. Yeah, when you
were layling, when you were laying on the ground knocked unconscious.
I bought it. Yeah, how about staring out in space?
That that was really good? And sadly, I think we're

(01:04:12):
starting to buy Adler as Missus Valentine. Yeah, I don't
think he's really he's buying in on the character. He's
got kind of a crush on Missus Valentine, the counselor
of the dad, the counselor.

Speaker 6 (01:04:26):
He's creepy.

Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
Yeah, a little bit of Jessica Simpson in there. Yeah,
so speaking of of real real actors. Tom Hanks, I
don't know why this is a story. It is weird though,
that he was able to it is, but he It
says that he will go in cognito on the New
York City subway with a mask and a beanie.

Speaker 9 (01:04:46):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:04:46):
He says that he was telling Adler, your friend Jimmy Kimmel.

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
Uh, He was telling Jimmy Kimmel that he does this
from time to time because he said he really enjoyed
taking the subway in New York City. No one enjoys it.
I mean, you may have to do it, but it's
so he masked up. You're not enjoyable.

Speaker 6 (01:05:09):
So they've got a picture of him here. I don't
know who took that.

Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
When you're Tom Hanks, though, and you're so recognizable, you
probably just can't do the normal things. Yeah, kind of
like you and Henlena, right, same exact guess the public's
going on. It wasn't clear if any of the other
writers in the car recognized the two time Academy Award winner,
but it appeared that he was left along the entire ride.

(01:05:33):
He has a surgical mask on which people do glasses,
and a beanie and beanie, and he says he thinks
the New York City subway is a miracle because it
moves seven million people.

Speaker 6 (01:05:46):
Miracle.

Speaker 1 (01:05:46):
We've got a little thing for the subway, and so
it's a subway movie coming along. Yeah, So he stuck
on the subway for just that airport, Greg is this
is this a form of Tom Hanks trying to be sharp.
I mean, I don't understand it. And he says he's
just doing this because it's enjoyable.

Speaker 3 (01:06:02):
No, he's so famous he can't feel normal, like you
know Michael Jackson. Okay, Michael Jackson. Didn't he like rent
out a grocery store and pay people to go in
the grocery store and not bother him and just pretend
to be shopping so that he could go and shop.
Did y'all hear about that?

Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
That's the least of the thing. That's the and bout
loads of candy did but pettings zoo in affairs with
But but the No, I don't know about that. I mean,
I know that that probably had to be done. But
you talking about he went as far as to try
to make it feel normal for him too, not just
I don't want to be bothered.

Speaker 6 (01:06:34):
Let me get and get my stuff and get out.

Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
That's a rumor. I'll double check that.

Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
I know that. You know, e Elvis, he had a
hard he couldn't rent out movie he would bowling Alley rolling, Yeah,
rent those out before. Yeah. But then you go back
to us earlier in the show talking about spring Springsteen,
which maybe what Tom Hanks is trying to do. But
some people say, if you won't ever be that iconic feel,

(01:07:00):
if you'll just be normal. And there's a lot of
people in entertainment that do that, that their lives are
a little more normal because they never started acting like
you could have access, so you can. They just they
just lend it in. They just walk out and get
in the vehicle, pull up limo and get out with
sunglasses right, glittery shirts and the glove on. Right. It's
kind of hard and a posse with you and all that. Yeah, uh,

(01:07:21):
we'll come back. We'll take unscreen phone calls next, Yes,

kids are in here.

Speaker 6 (01:11:00):
Let me tell you one thing that I have noticed.

Speaker 1 (01:11:02):
One thing. One thing that I've noticed, and if there's
one thing that I'm completely committed to standing on. Whenever
someone says Rick it through your many years of dealing
with the public once, wouldn't think you've noticed people do
not have the ability to call themselves. No, they do
not have the ability to go. There's people sitting in
the seats. They could be of various ages.

Speaker 10 (01:11:24):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:11:25):
Just this the fact that there's women that use there
in here watching U. And I couldn't care less. I'm
going to do this and I don't care. All I
want to do is be able to do it now.
Of course, if you're on the Terrestrial and you're on
the tune in app, you didn't get that, so you
don't know which is good because I dumped it. But
remember there's on Tuesdays and Fridays, there's other people in

(01:11:45):
here as well. And really, what you said you shouldn't
say on any show. And that really act didn't even
make Greg laugh. No it didn't.

Speaker 6 (01:11:51):
No, No, it wasn't even funny.

Speaker 2 (01:11:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
We continue Rick Burder's show on screen phone calls go ahead,
hey this today.

Speaker 27 (01:11:58):
I've been in the show coupled times on the one
one see where he's got a great idea. How about
when the person that loses on the who Wheel, how
about they get a chance at one hundred dollars if
they let the people in the the on the text
mess to just rag them. Hey, you guys, have a
good day.

Speaker 8 (01:12:14):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:12:14):
I have a feeling and I want to I want
to ask you about this. Oh, sure it's not what
it's not reloading and I don't think it's I don't
know anyway. So it was all right. They were saying
it didn't work, so it made it on the radio.
So I don't know why this isn't working. What's it

(01:12:36):
say down there? I didn't look. I can't see down there.
I just know that these are not lit up here,
which means it's not working. Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:12:42):
I may have never been on Uh should have been.

Speaker 1 (01:12:45):
I hit it this morning.

Speaker 6 (01:12:46):
Okay, I don't know. Uh we continue, Yeah, it's not
so sorry, so everybody hurts.

Speaker 3 (01:12:52):
Sorry planet Earth, Sorry.

Speaker 6 (01:12:54):
Planet Earth.

Speaker 1 (01:12:56):
Okay, so there go this blinking You want to hear
what I did every morning? Yeah, I don't know how
I got.

Speaker 6 (01:13:05):
That would be great one. That's funny. I wish you were.

Speaker 10 (01:13:16):
Chairs.

Speaker 6 (01:13:20):
Yeah, so we apologize. I'm sorry. That was an equipment malfunction.
Everybody heard it.

Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
What makes it even worse, which is why people in
their ability to call themselves would be great. Uh we continue,
Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 5 (01:13:33):
Go ahead, Hey it's anonymous.

Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
Okay, Uh we continue, Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls,
go ahead, Greg and Speedy did a great job.

Speaker 7 (01:13:45):
Maybe this can set up a new bit.

Speaker 8 (01:13:47):
Y'all do re enacting famous movie scene?

Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
Oh yeah, just like pull any movie from you know what.
We go right to a few good men. It was
a test run and you guys passed with flying colors.
And you know, the one that was most reluctant about
the roles he'd been given. Adler really took to it. Yeah,
he would get all female, right, He really really took
to it. In fact, he was a little too good
at it.

Speaker 3 (01:14:10):
We should do We should do Ghost Patrick Swayze and oh.

Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
Yeah, yeah we woo Patrick Rick Show. Definitely, unscreen phone calls,
go ahead. Oh to me, Rick what Rick Birger's show.
Unscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 8 (01:14:32):
And I love us for those out of games you
mentioned earlier, those are for the weaklings.

Speaker 5 (01:14:38):
I don't need help.

Speaker 8 (01:14:39):
I simply mite you.

Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
Okay, you don't want to know how to human nature
ended up on thriller? I mean, so we can at
least learn one thing there this entire segment.

Speaker 1 (01:14:52):
Rick Burger's show phone calls, Go ahead.

Speaker 5 (01:14:57):
Hey, Rick, I got a serious question for you. My
charge wants to get started with the Man Church curriculum,
and I've noticed, I've noticed that there are several different
ones to choose from. I'm assuming that the best place
to start would be called one called the Standard. Would
you agree with that?

Speaker 6 (01:15:14):
I would not.

Speaker 1 (01:15:15):
Actually no, that's actually the latest one, like the last
one that came out. I would probably start with pursuit.
Pursuit would be the one.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
I would start with.

Speaker 5 (01:15:23):
Yeah, okay, great, thank you.

Speaker 6 (01:15:26):
Thanks for asking.

Speaker 1 (01:15:26):
Man. Looking forward to you guys joining us a little
bit more gentle that. It's not well, I just came
out from being coach. That's true, Coach Harrison was telling
the guy about Man, I'm so glad y'all are doing that. Now,
you know what I would suggest.

Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
If you don't understand it, it ain't on me.

Speaker 1 (01:15:44):
Ward your showing screen phone calls, go.

Speaker 11 (01:15:46):
Ahead, Bruce Harmon, Hey, look, yesterday Speedy said something about
grow his hair out if Greg would shave his Yes,
I've got I've got an idea for a fundraiser. Oh no,

(01:16:10):
let Speedy grow his hair saved to a certainly quarter inch,
half inch or whatever, and then let Gerald Kikes come
up and shave Greg's head one day on the show.
You got to reach a certain mind. I got the
first one hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:16:29):
That would be radio radio.

Speaker 18 (01:16:33):
Go.

Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
Hey, guys, tech Nation. We all know that the dumb
didn't work. We even kept saying over and over it.
I don't know what happened because this morning, no it
was blinking. Yeah, No, I don't think it was. I
think what probably happened. I said, where it is. It's
not really that hard, especially if you're messing with the
CDs down there, to bump it. Boy, Yeah, I'll make

(01:16:55):
a note written need to be. I mean, I can't
recall doing that, but just looking at it, Yeah, it
wouldn't take much to bump it off.

Speaker 6 (01:17:01):
Like during the show.

Speaker 2 (01:17:05):
We know that it got them.

Speaker 10 (01:17:07):
We know that we man, we got that.

Speaker 6 (01:17:10):
We're so aware of that.

Speaker 1 (01:17:12):
But isn't that kind of the reason that we call
it the most dangerous ten minutes in radio?

Speaker 6 (01:17:18):
On scream phone calls, We'll be right back.

Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
This is the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of the Rick Burger show.

Speaker 2 (01:17:36):
You better listen up.

Speaker 21 (01:17:39):
You know what we say.

Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
You gotta find.

Speaker 4 (01:17:51):
Broadcasting from the world the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 21 (01:17:56):
I'm right in America.

Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
Thank you for being with us today, brand you I were,
and we are grateful that you are with us. Speeding
Greg Adler. The gang is all here and we have
been having a blast. I already been hanging out together
for three hours. So if you miss those, pick it

(01:18:20):
up today on the argive. Okay, So as we start
the hour couple of announcements, I tried to give you
a heads up.

Speaker 6 (01:18:32):
Still will just keeping you posted.

Speaker 1 (01:18:34):
I want to land on it on Harbor. But if
you and your group are wanting to go to either
or both of the conferences next year, in January, there'll
be two demand church conferences, one Birmingham one start Well.
The early access tickets for both of them are almost gone.

(01:18:55):
Birmingham's down to like seventeen tickets. As far as early
access is concerned, there's only so many of those, and
of start Wells hovering right around one hundred, maybe a
little less than one hundred now. So if the early
access for your group or for yourself is important, you
need to move now. The general mission also moving quickly.
I would not put this off till January if you

(01:19:17):
want to go. But early access is kind of like
station I mean status crucial, like right now if that
matters to you. And of course if you have a
group of ten or more, you get a discount on
the tickets as well. So that's at the Manchurch dot Com.
Are there on the homepage at Rick Burgess Show dot
com under the right down at the bottom of the homepage. So,

(01:19:39):
and the good news is, and you know, I guess
we can announce this now, is that all those partnerships
that we have with Summit Media, with iHeartMedia, with Blaze TV,
is that we can tell you that you know, a
lot when this started this first year, and I know

(01:20:01):
there was a lot of emotion with that. We certainly
understand that we're even grateful that you would care. And
we all love the three decades that we spent doing
the Rick and Bubba Show and embarked on a new
journey this year with the with the four of us
from the you know, the all those that had worked
on the Rick and Bubba Show over the years, and
and you know, basically the whole industry said, uh, we'll

(01:20:24):
give you guys a year and we'll see how it
goes uh and uh and it has gone great and
it's gone well, and so we are happy to announce
that we have reached a long term deal with all
of our different partnerships for this show to stay on
all the platforms that it's on now and hopefully even grows.
So uh, if some of you were kind of going, hey,

(01:20:45):
let me see how this goes, uh, well, it by
the grace of God and by the support of all
of you and and many sponsors and all those that said, hey, we'll, we'll,
we believe, we'll, we'll go with you. Uh, but you
guys are gonna have to prove yourself, which I totally
agree with that that that has has been accomplished in

(01:21:07):
in the first year. And we're fortunate now we have
a long term deal. So Lord willing as long as
we can mentally and physically keep doing this, we certainly
are going to and we'll be given that opportunity.

Speaker 6 (01:21:17):
So that's that's good news.

Speaker 1 (01:21:19):
And wanted to share that with all of you out
there that not be thinking, well, I wonder you know,
it's just going to be year to year going on.
I'm glad to report at least not for a while.
So that's good and that's big news. So congratulations to
you three guys and your incredible work during this year.
And we've probably worked harder this year and we have
in a long time, but it has it's we love

(01:21:41):
what we did in the past, but we're having an
incredible time doing what we're doing now too, and excited
that we're going to get to do it longer.

Speaker 6 (01:21:48):
So that's great about that, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:21:50):
So some other things to discuss as as we start
to start the hour, looking at what some of the
people are texting in. They're now hoping so much that
somehow we can end up on the View. People are
saying they would take a day off work, they would

(01:22:10):
they would do whatever, and and some of you are saying,
I think if there would be any way that that
would happen, and if we could sit down on the View,
and they say, we'd like to welcome the guys from
the Burgess Show to the View, and the opening statement
would be from Greg to say, well, I'm surprised you
all here. Y'all must have all the Washington clean and done.

(01:22:31):
Oh yeah, right, that would be such a joy pun
pun intended to watch that reaction, and what if we
went on there just to see how angry we could
make them, see if we can make them just internally
combust joy Slash Joey. They are she said that, but

(01:22:55):
they don't mean it. And sadly we have proof because
now people are coming out on the conservative side going.
She just said that they've turned us down multiple yes,
and now you're gonna have everybody, including us, volunteering to go. Yeah, yeah, okay,
we'll go, like my hands up, Yeah, Greg's buddies, Clay
and Buck. They have tried, They have tried to go

(01:23:17):
on a number of times, and they won't They won't
return and said, hey, yeah, yeah, there have been a
number of people that can actually walk out their narrative. Yeah,
and Shen Shapiro and others that they've they've turned down,
and we all claimed that, well we didn't know. No,
I told you, I guarantee you. I'm sure you have
staff meeting and they'll talk about potential Guess as soon
as Joyce said that, don't you know, when the cameras

(01:23:38):
turned off and they were walking into their green room,
they're like, joy Yeah, dude, are you lost your mind?
Turn it down? And picture gregsitt down and said he
before we get started, Joy, can you run fix me
a sandwich?

Speaker 6 (01:23:52):
Come on, hunger, don't want if you don't mind.

Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
And when the show's over, I need you to rub
my feet. Crag. What's that with the hair? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:24:04):
And when they do have guests on that disagree with them,
we see how it was with those uh Sheryl Hines
RFK Junior's wife that was on just yesterday. We played
those clips and it's all of the women at the
table versus the one conservative guest or the one person
that has a slightly different opinion. They all gang up
on them. And that's the only way that they can

(01:24:25):
actually survive in it in that environment, have a debate,
have a discussion like.

Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
A pack of hyenas. Yeahten from all corners. Yeah, right,
in textonation. You're right, it's spontaneously combust youre right, because
engines internally combust. Thank you. Yeah, spontaneously. I think they
would just turn into smoke and uh, because we would
just we'd frustrate them so much. You trying to make
a point. You got to listen, men are talking, Hey,

(01:24:54):
can you cut their mics off? Men or talking?

Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
Crack cloud.

Speaker 1 (01:25:01):
They were completely passed.

Speaker 6 (01:25:02):
They would never let us, so, they would never let us.

Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
Why have you even in here then? Are talking?

Speaker 6 (01:25:08):
You can come in a minute, guys. Thank you, y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
Y'all, y'all invited us in, you know, just like being
invited into your home. So y'all go fixing some deep
We're gonna talk a man, yeah, amongst the men. Please
know it's all tongue and cheek, but that would just
be Oh look, every one of us in here, our
own wives are rolling their eyes. But it's funny. But
it's funny.

Speaker 6 (01:25:29):
We would do it just to get a rise out
of them. I would absolutely do it.

Speaker 1 (01:25:33):
That's so. I mean, you never know. It's probably not real.
But there was some feminine protest when I had the
pink hats and all that on. Oh wow, somebody was
holding up a sunset iron. My shirt be right in
the middle. It was funny, okay, but you don't have
to said I didn't say that somebody they were right.
It's probably made up, but it looked real. They're right

(01:25:54):
in the middle of him. He forgot it was on there. Yeah, yeah,
somebody said Ted Cruz went on there. He did and
act he handled himself. I thought, pretty well, he got
frustrated a few times. I don't know how you can
be on there and not be frustrated. I will tell
you the one thing that you can't go on there
hoping to accomplish. And it goes back to when I
said that I was no longer going to try to
reason with unreasonable people. Yeah, and that kind of wipes

(01:26:14):
them right off the min I want someone. I want
some of y'all to know there's no way that we're
gonna go on there and change their mind. No, no way.
But I would just like to go on there and
just create some of the greatest television moments in the
history of television. Yes, do you realize what she's saying?
We are so powerful and so I mean we we
can make a point, and we can debate anybody. Everybody's

(01:26:37):
scared of us because we're powerful women powerful.

Speaker 7 (01:26:40):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:26:40):
No, the reason why nobody wants to be on there
is you want anybody to talk. Yeah, and they're not
gonna change your mind.

Speaker 6 (01:26:45):
No, and you're gonna you're gonna twist.

Speaker 1 (01:26:48):
What they say, yeah and all that.

Speaker 6 (01:26:50):
But everybody's farry to watch.

Speaker 1 (01:26:52):
Hey, I'm scared of us, Yes, That's what I say. Now,
I am scared of you to it in a certain way,
but not the way your sex gop con. Okay, America,

Speaker 1 (01:27:56):
The k pop k pop? Is is that a Asian
boy band? A genre?

Speaker 3 (01:28:03):

that I had a moment today that is your fault. Okay,
I think that. I'm currently on the job site and
a fellow employee of my company that works in a
different department walked past me and.

Speaker 6 (01:30:20):
Said, hey, what you know good?

Speaker 1 (01:30:22):
Oh no, to which I said, without thinking that you
need to be removed from society. Oh wow. I'm currently
waiting on a phone call from HR. That's a rough one.
Was that justified in my response? Well, I don't think
just just final reaction. Yeah, I'm sticking with just you
and me? And what you know good?

Speaker 15 (01:30:41):
Is that?

Speaker 1 (01:30:42):
What's what you say? That's why I stay with that's
your answer to that ridiculous question.

Speaker 6 (01:30:45):
What you know good?

Speaker 1 (01:30:47):
You say just you and me, just you and me
to him, just you and me. I don't think that's
how the song goes. It's you and I. But yeah,
it's very similar. And I said it wrong, but you
and I. No think you and me is right there?

Speaker 2 (01:31:01):
Which one is it?

Speaker 1 (01:31:02):
That you use you and me? It's probably wrong grammatically
just you and me, just you and me, it's just
me and.

Speaker 8 (01:31:15):
Just me and.

Speaker 17 (01:31:17):
Papa, and.

Speaker 6 (01:31:20):
So okay, let's do the story about this kid.

Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
And I know, oh no, I just want you to
know that with the car, Hey, hey, you're gonna love this.
On top of the car. You're gonna love this. What's
going on? What do you think? All right?

Speaker 3 (01:31:37):
Here she comes.

Speaker 28 (01:31:38):
The kid is not scanning the car now, it's moving,
it's coming.

Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
The car is going, it's dying, dying.

Speaker 1 (01:31:48):
You gotta you, gotta, I gotta all right, Hello, kitty,
we got you.

Speaker 6 (01:31:54):
Sounds like you don't want to go with him.

Speaker 1 (01:31:55):
It's Global cat Larry catching cats. Well, it's Global Cat Day.
Greg was talking about that earlier. So this is a
great feel good story about global cadaysh Animal rescue workers
on Long Island shared a video after they used the
It Gets a Kitty a remote control car to rescue

(01:32:16):
a stranded kitten in a storm shelter storm drain. He
got in the car, it wouldn't come out, so they
put the car in one end, uh, and then grabbed
the kitten when it ran out the other side. So
the car, the car kind of forced it, put it
in the other end.

Speaker 6 (01:32:31):
We'll put take the kitty out.

Speaker 18 (01:32:33):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:32:33):
The kitten coming here, come over.

Speaker 4 (01:32:37):
Here katy.

Speaker 1 (01:32:37):
At first it sounded like I thought Larry was doing it,
like hey kitty.

Speaker 3 (01:32:42):
All right, yeah, midway here she comes. The kit is
not scanned in the car.

Speaker 17 (01:32:50):
Now it's moving, the car is going.

Speaker 15 (01:32:55):
It's dying.

Speaker 3 (01:32:57):
You gotta, I gotta.

Speaker 1 (01:33:02):
Hello, kitty, We got you, Hell Kaddy, we got you.
You know it's it was raining, because you know that's
a that's a northeaster.

Speaker 6 (01:33:10):
The kitty would it came out when it wanted to.

Speaker 1 (01:33:13):
The kitty was scattered in the north northeaster got in
his drained pipe. It could come out same way it
went in, I know, but it wouldn't greg this one
they put the car. My point is it would have
came out. The fireman made a great point one day
a little kid, my neighbor, actually one the cat was
in the tree. He said, have you ever seen a
cat skeleton in a tree? No, you haven't. He'll come

(01:33:35):
down eventually. That's something it's you and me. Yeah, okay,
it's a good point. I thought the same thing here.
When this cat wanted to come out of the drain,
it would have. Anybody was seeing a cat skeleton in
a tree, I don't think so, that's right. And that's
a good point. I've never seen one. Oh he stayed
up there and died. But it's like the time, was
it Johnny Carson when there's some actress he had almost taught.

(01:33:56):
Not the one that's legendary, but they literally were talking
about not not the not the urban legend that isn't true,
but they were talking about that their cat was finnicky.
And Johnny Carr said, what do you mean. She said, well,
he won't just eat anything. He said, you live there
next to him, ANT know if you will, right, Yeah,
So I promise you that's it?

Speaker 6 (01:34:18):
And what is this other thing?

Speaker 16 (01:34:19):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:34:20):
Rick, what I gotta say. I think about Greg's story
about skeletons in a tree all the time, because we'll
see fire trucks in the car with the kids all
the time. Sure, and so they're always asking where they're going,
and I say, oh, they're probably getting the cat out
of a tree. That's my answer for the fire.

Speaker 1 (01:34:36):
I'm not going to pare fire out every time.

Speaker 3 (01:34:38):
Every time.

Speaker 1 (01:34:39):
What I did on this one, that's when I still
work in the power company. Have my truck. We got
these extendable sticks that you up close switches with a
real tall and I got up here and kind of
flung it at him. How you do it? How'd you
do it? I came right down next segment. I have
a he's called the Taco Hero, and he's looking for what.

(01:35:02):
I think he's gonna be your hero? Okay, oh wow, yeah,
he coming to kid. He's just coming out. You're right.
Do we really need a remote control car to get
a kiddy out of a drainage pipe? Since it's open
on both ends, it's not trapped. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
I got I want what what?

Speaker 6 (01:35:21):
What was that was that you're doing?

Speaker 1 (01:35:22):
Headed? The man showed up? Was that you're doing a
long shut out? A'm going to run the car up
one side but the other. They're Americans, right, because it's raining,
it's late, we're done away to start getting a little water.
H I gotta get out of here. Eat the cat.

Speaker 6 (01:35:38):
Here's what I was wondering.

Speaker 1 (01:35:40):
Maybe the kiddy got in there to get out of
the rain. Did y'all see they showed her holding and
he was going like it didn't. I want them picking
it up.

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:35:50):
The story about the je Jacques Gaboor or Ava Gabor,
whichever it was. Johnny Carson I do not think that's
a true story. Johnny Carson was asked about it. Yeah,
I heard that told many times, and he said, I
think I would have remembered it, and I don't have
any memory of that. We'll be back.

Speaker 4 (01:36:10):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:36:18):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (01:36:21):
This is the show that the world desperately needs, The
Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:36:28):
Thank you, America, as we step into another day to
get it, and we sure are excited to do so. Wow. Congratulations.
Look up there on the old text line, young man
got his first book. All right, A way to go,
young man.

Speaker 3 (01:36:48):
He loves Mark.

Speaker 1 (01:36:49):
All that's missing is the new camp house, big box outdoor.
Ha oh yeah, I gotta have. I can't wait this
season to see pictures men, and either in the Hunter's
Orange or the massy Oak Camo version.

Speaker 6 (01:37:03):
By the way, I'm digging those hats. Yeah, good hats.

Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
Did he get in the front yard? Well, maybe they
brought it. I thought the same thing that I thought him.
The Adler, They said, the young man said, you know what,
the Adler was right. There's deer all over his neighborhood. Neighborhood.

Speaker 6 (01:37:18):
I think it's a sanctuary around there.

Speaker 3 (01:37:20):
I don't walk right up to you.

Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
They'll even hold still if you have a flashlight. I'm
sure he went home and yeah he's bringing in there
showing mama probably. Yeah, well done, young man. Remember, I mean,
what a great feeling. I remember the first one I
ever took, and I remember the first deer that every
one of my kids took. I'll never forget it. It's
it's it's a wonderful day. Yeah, it's a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (01:37:41):
All right.

Speaker 1 (01:37:42):
So you said I'm about to.

Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
Love this guy.

Speaker 1 (01:37:44):
Yeah, you're gonna love him. And then but it's also
a feel good story, which means great and you feel
good story. Well in today's world, you know. So we
got a family in Kansas, uh and they went to
their favorite little taco spot. Okay, and who carries cash anymore? Anybody?
You still do?

Speaker 14 (01:38:02):
Not?

Speaker 1 (01:38:03):
Let me tell you this high school football last Friday night.
I've never been so thankful, because you know how when
you start trying to be Because like I said, Greg
has less responsibility with grandkids than his daughter and her
husband have obviously, but then there's another level that has

(01:38:25):
even lesser responsibility. And that's being the great uncle, and
so you kind of just always want to be the
guy that gets the kids fired up for anything. Well,
you know, and it's on me. And Ellis took debate. Yeah,
I said, hey, you want some popcorn? And buddy, I
mean he and then of course we had a bit
of a debate because I had to kind of had

(01:38:47):
to talk him down a little bit. He goes, I
want butter popcorn, and I said, okay, now, let me
just send the movie. Let me get a heads up.
Went out the movie or what does he call it?
Didn't he have some term he says, for the theater
when you go to McDonald's a Donalds. I thought he
hadn't won about the movies too. May no, that may
be pace by the way. So at Donald's is Ellis okay, yeah,

(01:39:09):
So and I said, I said, it has butter flavor,
but it's gonna be pre buttered. I mean, it's not
gonna be like we go over at the movie and
get buttered. And he goes, do they have buttered? And
I said, and then finally I just said, yes, yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
That got it.

Speaker 1 (01:39:24):
It will have butter on it. Well, well, and we
chose halftime, so we look pretty busy, and Papa's got
to take Elis into the restroom. And I go to
the line to hold a place and I look over
and this woman says, over here cash only, And I thought, okay,
well how much can popcorn be? And I started looking
through my wallet and I found I found a five

(01:39:47):
and four ones. And I walked over and I said, well,
can I for nine dollars? Can I get two popcorns?
And no, you might have bought the other popcorn? Can
I get a popcorn and two waters? That's what it was?
And she as a matter of fact, that's exactly nine dollars,
and then bringing on so total cash is always wise.
But you're right, I don't do it a lot. I

(01:40:07):
don't either. I used to it.

Speaker 4 (01:40:09):
I do not.

Speaker 1 (01:40:10):
But this guy or this family was in this taco joint.
Uh and the credit card machine. See that's what happens
now machine goes down.

Speaker 18 (01:40:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:40:20):
By the way, money at that ball game, Greg, you're
my witness there might I bet you the cash line
never had more than three people in it. You're right.
No one has cash, No one has cash.

Speaker 8 (01:40:29):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:40:31):
So they were holding things up a little bit. They
got the little two block the machine goes down and
they start, you know, probably doing what I would do,
and they do this they we don't have cash. We
have a card pat in their pockets and they're like, oh,
I don't have any cash. You do that every day.
And they were going to leave and they're like, well,
I'm just gonna leave in a random guy pulled out
one hundred dollars bill and gave it to him. Yes, sir,
And his name was not Calvin Wilber now no it

(01:40:52):
was not. Hey, Yeah, his name was Jared and they're talking.
They're calling him the Taco Hero. Jared play loved it
so much they gave him a voucher for free tacos
for the rest of the year. We aso see that's
what speed he would like. Then he ends up getting
free tacos for the rest of your ye. But can
you how long four hundred dollars with tacos? Well here's
the thing too, they know he's gonna have to get

(01:41:14):
fixed and is to go with it. Yeah, they gave
him the free taco, but he's gonna make a point
to come use it because of that, and then they're
gonna make money on the side of how many you
get a a taco place, Well, you gotta get some
want some nachos.

Speaker 6 (01:41:26):
It was just I'm just saying it's not it.

Speaker 1 (01:41:28):
I mean Understorm to go, hey, give you free tacos
for a year, by the way, if you want to
feel if you want to feel, go it feel good.

Speaker 6 (01:41:36):
Story to get rained on just saying saying when you
hear that, hey, you get.

Speaker 1 (01:41:39):
Free tecos for Yeah, but first of all, he's probably
not gonna come back to get a hundred dollars worth
of tacos, and if he does, he's gonna get nachos
and sometimes apple impanada some of that with it. So
here's all Thunderstorm moved on their part alright, So I
gotta this has to be I have to have clarification
on the story. Was he doing this to move the

(01:42:00):
line where he could also or was he doing it
just as a nice gesture to people that it didn't
impact the line at all. Well, I need to know that.
REGs claiming he did it to go viral, but yeah,
he knew people.

Speaker 17 (01:42:11):
I think there was a.

Speaker 1 (01:42:12):
Little bit of both, but I think mainly it was
because he was being polite because the family couldn't eat
because now they could have gone somewhere else.

Speaker 6 (01:42:19):
What do you think they're homeless?

Speaker 1 (01:42:21):
Well, here is the time. The money down me to
get the line move just to be nice. Yeah, if
I if I felt the urge, I would. I was
behind a lady. Uh, here we go Dollar General and
they were struggling trying to get her card work, and
I don't made my mind up. I'm gonna buy it.
Of course it wasn't much. Five something else.

Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
Graduate to be.

Speaker 1 (01:42:47):
I got that.

Speaker 28 (01:42:49):
Toilet stand by Daddy Warbucks is in a Dollar General.

Speaker 3 (01:42:55):
This is I got the.

Speaker 1 (01:42:56):
Chlorox, the Kleenex and the toilet. Does some gum in there?

Speaker 9 (01:43:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:43:04):
Yeah, get you to have some mint. But here's the
here's the taco. He wrote the family that he gave
the money to, and the general manager of the taco place,
which is Tacos TJ sixty six four.

Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
I don't know someone down, so we were only taking cash.

Speaker 17 (01:43:20):
I was really bummed.

Speaker 1 (01:43:21):
I was like, no, like, I come on here and
have some tacos.

Speaker 6 (01:43:24):
So I followed him out game one hundred dollars bill
and I was like, no way.

Speaker 1 (01:43:27):
And then he said, yes, dinner is on you tonight,
and I was like, thank you so much.

Speaker 17 (01:43:32):
I said here, we have.

Speaker 3 (01:43:33):
Twenty dollars cash.

Speaker 1 (01:43:34):
You have Venmo, I can venmo you And he was like, no, no,
don't even worry about it.

Speaker 18 (01:43:39):
We just wanted to thank him, really because I think
he deserves it, even though he probably wasn't intending for
this to have the impact that it did.

Speaker 4 (01:43:47):
If I had a chance to do it over again,
I'd do it over again one hundred percent of the time.
Every day.

Speaker 1 (01:43:54):
There Speedy had done it. When she offered to Venmo,
he go okay, let me yeah. I mean if you
want to you say yeah, be back, yeah, okay, okay. Also,
I have to ask this question, were these just chicks
or was this a family? It says family here. I
guess Greg's got him flirting with chicks.

Speaker 2 (01:44:17):
No, that was really I saw you. That was really
I saw your face.

Speaker 6 (01:44:20):
I'm just trying to I thought he was trying to
go viral.

Speaker 7 (01:44:22):
You know.

Speaker 6 (01:44:22):
Greg just doesn't believe that anybody does anything.

Speaker 1 (01:44:24):
Just men are wicked. It's kind of like when you
offered to buy up the Klean EGGX for.

Speaker 6 (01:44:30):
That l I would have picked it up.

Speaker 1 (01:44:31):
Yeah. I had at least to sixty so you had
that feelings is that I'm gonna you get a panic lyric.

Speaker 6 (01:44:38):
Hey what dollar thirty eight?

Speaker 1 (01:44:40):
I got it. I'll take them scrubbing bubbles. So so
here's I'm just getting real here. If I'm moving the
line and we all can eat now one hundred percent,
I do it. Oh okay, yeah, you get my thousand
now if I if I'm still, If I'm still, you
want tuggles for the rest of the year. If they're
moving and it's now my turn, I mean, you know

(01:45:04):
they're they're just going to give up.

Speaker 6 (01:45:05):
And that's what sounds like.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
That's what was happening.

Speaker 6 (01:45:08):
All of a sudden, spaces made evaate. That's what was happening.
That's when I'm struggling.

Speaker 1 (01:45:11):
Well, to be honest, if you stop them and do that,
now you're messing things up again unless they're willing to
get start over. Yeah, I'd like to think tacos are
not that expensive, so speeding you might to do this?
Well yeah maybe so now this here's but I think
I would off the website that Greg's never been to,
Good News Network dot org. On apace, it says here
that the said light on it. I noticed. It says

(01:45:32):
when a lot of articles when the pavement sophomore went
software went down the taco restaurant. The staff, everybody became
anxious and the line started to grow. It was getting long,
sure will, because there was everybody had cars. Tension was high.
And the family got through the line and here we go,
and then they realized they couldn't buy anything? So what
are going to leave? What if there was another family line?

(01:45:54):
They saw it and they looked at him. They go, look, oh,
I got a car too, Can you help me? Oh? Yeah,
he comes the guy that'sked by everybody. Daddy gets free
to We called that the free T shirt syndrome. Yes,
you bought theirs?

Speaker 6 (01:46:04):
Can you buy mine?

Speaker 1 (01:46:04):
I got a card to you. You gave away free
t shirts?

Speaker 3 (01:46:07):
Can I have five?

Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
No, you can have one. You can have one. You
would love the way this is written, Greg. They were
craving fresh shrimp tacos. They had come to a door
and go out, but there was a problem. They didn't
have enough money. And then came the taco hero. The
taco hero, he said, came out one hundred got a
Franklin Because I've been I've been the hand laid that money.

(01:46:31):
No one ever, no one's ever wrote articles. You were
how many times I bought my way through a line.
I bought my way through a line line. I have
bought people mag if nobody knows about it. The only
reason you do is to.

Speaker 6 (01:46:44):
Get them out of the way. They realized this was heroic.

Speaker 1 (01:46:47):
Now you thought you moving, You're it. Moved the line.

Speaker 6 (01:46:50):
Here's one hundred. There's whatever to get out of this line.

Speaker 4 (01:46:54):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. God fearing and America

(01:47:19):
loving the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 6 (01:47:26):
Thank you America for being with us.

Speaker 1 (01:47:33):
So Yesterday's Wednesday Bible study. That archive available for you.
We continue our walk through this whole year. We've been
in the Book of Job, chapter thirty five yesterday. Go
grab that only archive if you so desire. Strange Encounter
is a brand new and being done today. Should be
out this weekend. Wherever you get a podcasts right now.

Speaker 4 (01:47:58):
The most dangerous ten minutes in radio on screened phone
calls get in though by dialing one eight eight eight six.
Big fucks.

Speaker 1 (01:48:08):
Here we go to the phones. This is us talking
to you and like I say, you know, that's uh.
There's a new theme that's generated. Trying to do corny jokes.
Trying to do jokes jokes are not the best foot forward.
It's just this I would shy away from that. It's

(01:48:29):
there's so few great jokes and yeah in the commodation
too long time of a great joke and great execution.

Speaker 6 (01:48:35):
That's difficult, especially even in this setting.

Speaker 1 (01:48:39):
So we will go though. Hello, you're on the Rick
Burgess Show. Unscreen phone calls. Go ahead, Hey guys, love
the show.

Speaker 13 (01:48:46):
Thank you, twenty five year listener here, Thank you. I
know everything about the show. But there's two questions that
remain unanswered. Okay, we've never got the story of the gunners.

Speaker 1 (01:48:59):
We'll treaty. I knew that was coming.

Speaker 13 (01:49:00):
Okay, and I'll get I'll give him my second question.
I'll get off there. Why is Greg such a turn?

Speaker 6 (01:49:09):
Yeah, my dad asked that question.

Speaker 1 (01:49:12):
Yeah, you know, we just can't.

Speaker 8 (01:49:15):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:49:16):
You know, even though the Rick and Bubba Show has ended,
uh it is, it will now hold its place in
radio history. There's certain things that when we disbanded that show,
that we just said that it can never be told.
Maybe on my deathbed, if I'm allowed that kind of
slow fadey. But but that's uh, I don't think I'm

(01:49:38):
likely to be that candidate. But uh, but if I were.
If I'm giving the opportunity, I'll tell it and yeah,
grand there, Well you just can't if you do right now,
it could stir up all kinds of things. There's statutes
and I don't know, it's almost up there with that
Epstein file, and I'll go ahead and prepare all of

(01:49:59):
you out there. It's hard to hear. It's not good,
no matter how how much you think you have a
strong It just it's it. It just kind of I
will say as we heard, you know, really if it'll
help some of you.

Speaker 6 (01:50:16):
The the prank that.

Speaker 1 (01:50:18):
Went and bad at the farm with Gary and Scott
Dawson and Mark Garnett, you know, I think that was
another example of what happened in gunners Wille is sometimes
sometimes things, no matter how many ways you see it
playing out, things you can just get out of hand.
I'll leave it at that. Yeah, then just get out

(01:50:39):
of hand, you know, because there's variables you can't control.
And you didn't really think about that. That was a
curve ball right there. Didn't see that coming. We continue
Rick Burgers show unscreened phone calls.

Speaker 12 (01:50:51):
Go ahead, A I'm kind of a new listener, so
I just got a question I'll hang up and listen
to the answer.

Speaker 10 (01:51:00):
Where did big Box come from?

Speaker 1 (01:51:02):
Big Fox is? We've talked about that a number of times,
but you said, you're you're new to that. So when
when social media first started, we were just all going
to go out, you know and get our Instagram stuff,
and of course it was called Twitter then, and you know,
you had to do it, and all of us on
the show doing the Rick and Bubba show just started
using our names at whatever. And when I went to

(01:51:24):
do at rick Burgess, I was told that it was
already taken and there's there were already people, there were
other rick Burgesses, so I couldn't just use rick Burgess. So,
you know, I do tend to be a little loud.
Our family is loud. Come from a loud family. I

(01:51:44):
do tend on things that I'm passionate about, to be
outspoken and so and I do talking for a living.
So we during the days of albums, when you had
albums from rock bands, was the first time that I
saw the word vox v as in Victor o X
being used for voice, lead, vox, back, background vox. And

(01:52:12):
you know, and so I started, what does that mean?
And we really didn't know, we just thought it was
a cool rock thing. Well it's actually Latin for voice,
So I don't remember if it was Ryan Greenwood, would
he have been here then or Helmsey? I can't remember,
but I remember the first thing we started talking about
was why don't you do Rick Big Vox, Big Voice

(01:52:35):
Burgess And they were kind of doing that as a
joke because we come from a loud family and I'm allowed.
And so that's what that means. So when we started
a new company this year, we thought it would be
funny to call it Big Voice or Big Vox Entertainment.
So and you have this show, and you've got Strange
Encounters along with Blade's TV, and you've got other things

(01:52:58):
that matter of fact, I'm talking about it another show
that we may launch next year.

Speaker 6 (01:53:02):
So uh So yeah, that's what that means.

Speaker 1 (01:53:04):
And so that then we use that as our code too,
because there's too many other people that use Rick, even
though Blaze TV still uses Rick, uh, but it a
lot of times gets lost in the mix, and Big
Vox uh is unique and stands out uh so that
people know the businesses that it came from our audience.
So there you go.

Speaker 18 (01:53:25):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:53:25):
And that's why it's the Vox seats.

Speaker 1 (01:53:27):
That's a playoff box seats, uh, et cetera. And that's
why right behind me as big as you can see
it when somebody's on the uh on the big boy mike,
you see big Vox Entertainments. There it is, and you
see it in hear it in the phone number, et cetera,
et cetera, et cetera. Uh we continue, Uh, welcome to
the rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 6 (01:53:47):
Unscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 1 (01:53:50):
But what's the difference between who okay, uh yeah, uh
Rick Burgess Show. Unscreen phone calls go ahead?

Speaker 10 (01:54:00):
Has it going? Man?

Speaker 1 (01:54:00):
I'm good. I hope you're will man?

Speaker 10 (01:54:03):
Yeah, what school? Y'all played a little ball we you know,
growing up and well, yeah, Tom Robertson, you remember me.

Speaker 6 (01:54:11):
Oh time you knew what it was like to watch
your seventy five work.

Speaker 10 (01:54:16):
Oh yeah, seventy five was a beast back in the
day around talk about that cat in the covert. You
know how we got them out, We was kids. We
just put a Jack Russell on the other end. That
cat's coming out.

Speaker 1 (01:54:34):
To house houses the family.

Speaker 2 (01:54:36):
I know that.

Speaker 1 (01:54:37):
You know you've had like us family members pass on.
But how's everybody.

Speaker 10 (01:54:42):
Oh, everybody's getting along pretty good. Of course, everybody's got
their ate and pains all that. But other than that,
I can't complain, can't complain it up.

Speaker 1 (01:54:51):
I will tell you, I think that your senior year,
of my junior year may be one of the best
defenses that came through that school.

Speaker 22 (01:54:57):
Boy.

Speaker 6 (01:54:58):
We were loaded that year, like you.

Speaker 10 (01:55:02):
Say, you say it all the time. Played a little ball.

Speaker 6 (01:55:04):
Played a little ball.

Speaker 2 (01:55:05):
Thanks Tom.

Speaker 1 (01:55:05):
Good to hear from you, man, You talking about a
linebacker really playing that middle linebacker and that four by
four oh eight man front, Tom standing there in the middle,
two linebackers side by side him and Steve Crow. Yeah, yeah,
you didn't. You don't want anything to do with that.
Those two would strive to fill it up. Yeah, of course,

(01:55:26):
you know, seventy five, I'd stack that double team up.
Let Tom go here. I'm sorry you call and start out,
and I remember Tom with Scrimba. I don't pull a
guard in front of seventy five. You'll regret it.

Speaker 6 (01:55:37):
Don't pull it in guards. You're pulling guards just you're just.

Speaker 1 (01:55:41):
Gonna put me on the highlights. Say he's going on
that hill. That's good to hear from you. Man top
of the hour. All right, So if you're staying with us,
then you're going the whole way. If you're leaving us,
go back and catch any of the archives, any part
of the show you may miss. Thanks for being here.

Speaker 17 (01:57:41):

Speaker 1 (01:57:48):
Letting swell, he is ready chasing monkeys in eas Mississippi.
We're ready for he great the famous gold post Barbacue

Speaker 6 (01:58:00):
Yeah, what a throwback.

Speaker 1 (01:58:02):
Uh, and thank you for being with us. Uh, the
good Lord Willing and the creek don't rise. Munford, Alabama
says they're ready. Uh. So they're piling in from all over,
letting us know fellas that we're not alone. Uh, they're
out there, They're everywhere. Everybody's moving, everybody's shaking, everybody ready
to get up and ready. And yes, we uh we

(01:58:25):
will be addressing. We got a monkey loose in the
East Mississippi. Wat a diseased monkey. Not just any monkey,
not just any money, a diseased monkey. This is monkey.
This is literally the movie Outbreak. Yeah, we just got
diseased monkeys riding around. Yes, what kind of disease they care?

Speaker 3 (01:58:42):
STDs?

Speaker 18 (01:58:43):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (01:58:45):
I know I know that I can stay clear of that.

Speaker 1 (01:58:47):
When I saw the story, I think it's one of
them is a strand of COVID. One of them is
Let's see what are the adam hepatitis. Hepatitis is in there.

Speaker 6 (01:58:58):
Let's see moving these I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:59:01):
I don't like it, y'all. If you've got diseased monkeys
or really monkeys of any kind, I just don't know
that eighteen wheeler is the way to go a vehicle.
It seems like we can't we do something that just
seems like, you know, I mean an automobill.

Speaker 6 (01:59:18):
You know, wrecking. Is it happens a.

Speaker 3 (01:59:21):
Lot you get armored vehicle or something.

Speaker 1 (01:59:23):
Yeah, we got hepatitis c herpes.

Speaker 6 (01:59:28):
Greg, I'm so sorry the monkeys and COVID.

Speaker 1 (01:59:33):
H gave a monkey COVID It was actually you have
a faucy anyway, so says these monkeys around forty pounds.

Speaker 6 (01:59:42):
They are aggressive to humans.

Speaker 1 (01:59:44):
Uh, and I love when they say they require ppe
personal protective equipment to handle. Now, from what I gathered
yesterday when the story began to just break out of
East Mississippi, and it's almost like everybody said, there's one
person that needs to know this, and that's Rick Burges,
because he warned and everybody was sending this to me
that we've got monkeys that never got out of the wreckage.

(02:00:08):
We have monkeys that got out and were killed by
people who went to hunt them. Some sort of law
enforcement of some kind. And then one loan monkey still
at large.

Speaker 5 (02:00:18):
Rick.

Speaker 1 (02:00:19):
They don't say killed, they say eliminated. Well, so you
had twenty one total, and as Rick said, one is
on the loose. Five of the loose monkeys were eliminated
two Lane, which is where they were coming from. They
were coming from the Two Lane National Biomedical Research Center
where we send them. They claim, they say that these

(02:00:40):
were not infectious monkeys, but that's what they always say.
They said they were. Let's see, they were headed to
a testing facility of some kind. That says they were
hauling the reesius monkeys from Two Lane University to a
testing facility. When it overturned around a hundred and seventeen
mile marker on I fifty nine, they said that it

(02:01:04):
is actually a truck was pulling a trailer. That it
wasn't an eighteen wheeler. Okay, so that's even that sounds
even that even sounds even more precarious dragging some trailer
with with with you know, diseased monkeys in the back
of it. Yeah, don't you know. The monkeys though, once
they when the cage busted open, they got to get out.
All they seen all that grass they got eliminated to

(02:01:28):
the second they were living it up two lane center
crew to pick up the monkeys that were still caged.
To what Rick said, there were not everybody got out.
But wow, you know I've told you on my story
of dealing with the monkeys when we were working in Miami.
Oh yeah, at the monkey jungle. It was actually a tourist,
so I called the monkey jungle, right, and all their
cages and stuff got blown down to the monkeys. There

(02:01:49):
were a bunch of them. They were just running free
and we were working. We look in the trees, are
just full of little monkeys. Good night. A guy comes
up with an air horn and runs them back into
the woods. Are you seriously they weren't disease make because
they were like for entertaining.

Speaker 6 (02:02:02):
Well, here's what's weird, speaking jungle.

Speaker 1 (02:02:04):
This story actually is in conflict with itself, as a
lot of stories are today. All right, now, you literally
say you literally see in the story. Let me, I'm
gonna give you three things that are in this story.
This is sentence number one. The animals carry hepatitis, c herpes,
and COVID. All right. Next, next thing, it says the

(02:02:27):
primeates in question belong to another entity entity and are
not infectious. Then we go to the next one, People
for Ethical Treatment of Animals. Vice President says, these monkeys
are terrified running for their lives into unprotected populated areas,
areas that could spark the next pandemic. All right, so

(02:02:48):
this story is in complete conflict with itself. And I'm
going to tell you this. I would say that the
peed of people are probably the least trustworthy of because
they're they're more concerned about the plight of the monkeys,
and they're they're always looking for some reason to get
in the headline. So I'm going to discount their run
for your lives. This is the end of time. But

(02:03:10):
I am confused on how the monkeys are supposed to
be carrying something but not be infectious. Yeah, and I
want to know this. If you catch COVID from one,
I guess so. But if you catch her eat from one,
that's on you. Yeah, yeah, that's I could be avoided.
That is on you one of the You're weird though,

(02:03:31):
and I would throw hepatitis C in there. Strange when
if you somehow run that monkey, Oh really it wasn't.
Oh I thought it was airborn no.

Speaker 7 (02:03:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:03:42):
One of the monkeys that was captured put up a
huge fight and they got audio and video of it.

Speaker 1 (02:03:47):
They don't go quiet.

Speaker 4 (02:03:49):
You ever seen them?

Speaker 1 (02:03:50):
Not a dog?

Speaker 7 (02:03:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:03:51):
Yeah, and they're always smiling. You know.

Speaker 6 (02:03:59):
By the way, people way not adding to the panic.

Speaker 1 (02:04:01):
Uh, they said they just spotted in East Mississippi eating
breakfast Dustin Hoffman and Cuba Gooding Junior.

Speaker 6 (02:04:12):
At the local doughter.

Speaker 1 (02:04:13):
There's a couple of things I would love to get
audio on, and that is the dispatch that sent sent
everybody that had the first person had to inform everybody, Right,
you got Mississippi Wildlife and Fisheries that had to get
involved and work with locals. And then the Two Lane
National Biomedical Research Center staff that had to get on
the road and get there. Uh, just that call and

(02:04:33):
hide all we got what Now don't you got monkey's running?
Everybody listen, listen to this. You know you know, you
know how they have not infectious this disease are disease,
and we don't think they can. We're just gonna fre
good about the herpees and now the other stuff. You're
gonna have to make out with one to catch and
not only you're gonna have to be desherate.

Speaker 6 (02:04:52):
You have to be really quick, yes, and have a
really good grip.

Speaker 1 (02:04:55):
But all that tel will get you. But listen, let
me throw this out at you. You know how they
have in law enforcement. You'll have codes for everything. I
guarantee you people have get the sheet back out.

Speaker 6 (02:05:05):
Got you memorized all of them.

Speaker 1 (02:05:07):
But nobody memorizes the code from disease monkeys on the
monkeys on.

Speaker 6 (02:05:13):
We got a ten twenty six and somebody said ten.

Speaker 1 (02:05:15):
What is that? Somebody said, get the car down. Oh
my gosh, that's disease monkeys.

Speaker 3 (02:05:18):
Monkeys uncle. We got a monkey's uncle. Yeah, I do
have audio. I'm not messing around this time of This
is just quick from a news package. But this is
somebody reporting it on radio.

Speaker 1 (02:05:27):
We got this video shows Yeah, we got wet one
monkeys and five.

Speaker 6 (02:05:36):
That was the perfect guy. That's Mississippi right there.

Speaker 1 (02:05:39):
We got twenty one monkeys five on the run. What
better call letters for the uh the station? W D
A m oh w d A M seven Hey listen
with d.

Speaker 18 (02:05:52):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (02:05:52):
Wow. Text Nation has said Rick please, this has to
be Gary voycemail. Hey, we got monkeyslem Hey call me.
We got monkeys.

Speaker 4 (02:06:02):
This is the Rick Burgess show ticket his life statement.

(02:06:23):
Suck it up, butter a couple Rick budgets, thanks.

Speaker 6 (02:06:28):
For being with US America.

Speaker 1 (02:06:30):
Okay from Texas Nation, out of the great state of Mississippi,
East Mississippi. Rogue monkey almost at one time, rogue monkeys.
We've eliminated all but one and others never got out
of the trailer. So scroll that down live. He said,
it looked like to me, he said, I actually drove
past it, he said, looks like it was a Chevy

(02:06:52):
three quarter ton truck pulling what looked like be an
enclosed construction trailer.

Speaker 6 (02:06:57):
And even like there were some tools in the bed
of the truck.

Speaker 1 (02:07:00):
Uh. And from what it looked like, it looked like
that they simply drove into the median, which caused them
to lose the trailer. You know, if you and I
don't know what happened there, but we all have been
talking about how terrified we are about distracted drivers, and
I have noticed sadly, and I'm not saying this is
what happened. Please don't because I don't know what happened.

(02:07:23):
It may find out it was something that h could
have been that I could have been all that, But
is you know people, because sometimes you think about very
I kind of thought, you know, I've seen a bunch
of young people looking at their cell phones while they drive.
It's terrifying. But I've actually seen like eighteen wheeler truck

(02:07:45):
drivers looking at their phones, people driving pretty large, heavy
things looking at their phones. And I'm not saying that's
what happened here. I have no idea what happened, but
but I'm saying that he had a blowout. Yeah it could,
it went bad, But I'm just saying, I just I'm
just gonna use this as an opportunity to tell everybody,

(02:08:06):
uh this this distracted driving thing. And I'm not saying
that's what happened here, but I've seen some of you
and some really all your vehicles are dangerous. All vehicles
are dangerous. They're there their their death that they can
be as we all know sadly. If there's anything we
need to be paying attention is when we're driving vehicles
and especially hauling monkeys. Yes, and if you're hauling and

(02:08:29):
not not say that, like I said, the trailer could
have had a blow at I will admit. I will
admit because I just saw footage that Addler brought up.
If we're gonna be carrying across the country in a
vehicle diseased monkeys, yeah, it seems like we'd have a
little more secure set up than this.

Speaker 7 (02:08:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:08:45):
This, this, this, this, this does not Okay. That looks
like uh to your point, Rick, it not an a whiler,
but an enclosed trailer. Yeah, maybe a twenty twenty foot
enclosed trailer or something pretty pretty large one. M h.
Almost like you would haul a car in or something,
and I'm just hauling it with a three quarter ton Chevy. Yeah. Yeah,

(02:09:10):
oh boy, that's not good. But now who is? If
they're not infectious and I'm putting my quotes up like
they say from the two Lane Research Center, then who's
the first one that goes in and says, all right,
go get that one right there? Yeah, see you around them.
He seems to be just sitting there without without being
suited up for protection. Now, I think the reason they

(02:09:31):
did that thing is the reason why you heard the
word eliminated.

Speaker 6 (02:09:34):
Uh, the ones that got loose.

Speaker 1 (02:09:36):
The only reason why this one hasn't been killed is
they haven't got a shot at him yet. But they
took the other ones out. They didn't try to catch them,
so I don't think there's gonna be an attempt to.
Can you mean somebody's laying the shoulder over if somebody's
shoulder a rifle over somebod's shoulder, going, hold on, let
me steady up here. Yeah, put your hands over your ears.
I need I need your shoulder real quick. We go.

Speaker 6 (02:09:56):
But how about this?

Speaker 1 (02:09:57):
You know, you know how we're always told be careful
if you shoot a wild hog, if you go to
try to oh yeah, make sure you get that first shot.
I got to tell you if I shot a disease monkey,
I think I just let it lay. I'm not going
over there, no messing with it. Not on shot a
disease monkey. You better not clip it because it might
get really mad.

Speaker 3 (02:10:16):
Oh no, we've got interior footage of the driver. Guys,
this is he looks very distracted. Yeah, he looks incredibly distracted.

Speaker 1 (02:10:25):
Explain what we're seeing. He shot a drug driver in
there basically cooking while he's driving.

Speaker 18 (02:10:34):
That was a joke.

Speaker 6 (02:10:34):
Sorry, sure, right, so that funny.

Speaker 3 (02:10:37):
Have y'all seen twenty eight days later that movie? How
this starts?

Speaker 1 (02:10:41):
I don't remember. I didn't see them.

Speaker 15 (02:10:43):
Not good.

Speaker 1 (02:10:45):
I saw one called twenty eight days. It was about rehab. Yeah,
I saw that one, Sandra Bullet, that's the one.

Speaker 3 (02:10:51):
I don't know that one. That's I'll have to watch
that one too.

Speaker 1 (02:10:53):
I want to what it's called a little different. It
is a little different. No monkey, no zombies, no monkeys.

Speaker 3 (02:11:01):
So uh so anyway, it is called twenty eight days
from two thousand. Yeah, I didn't know. Okay, I remember
seeing this, uh this cover. I didn't know she went
to rehab for twenty eight that is correct.

Speaker 1 (02:11:12):
Okay, well you know right, so that call, that radio
call that we played last segment, we got twenty one monkeys,
five on the loose, I thought, so they took out four,
uh huh, and there's one. There's one. It's free. He's
right now swinging on a tree. And it was odd
because his name is Caesar. Yeah. I'm gonna tell you this.
If it one of those monkeys, if I couldn't, you know,

(02:11:33):
escape and stay free, just shoot me, don't put me
back in another trailer, just take me out.

Speaker 3 (02:11:38):
It was incredibly you're getting inside the monkeys head.

Speaker 1 (02:11:41):
Yeah about it? Would you want to give back in
that riding that thing again?

Speaker 3 (02:11:45):
The food how's the food in monkey prison?

Speaker 8 (02:11:47):
You know?

Speaker 1 (02:11:47):
Yeah? Shoot me? They said, an animal disposal company. It
has to be the ones to go get the dead monkeys.
They don't. You're not supposed to go over and get them. Yeah,
you can't throw them over your shoulder. Killed squirrel. No,
I've seen it. I've seen outbreak.

Speaker 9 (02:12:03):
I know what.

Speaker 1 (02:12:03):
You can walk up with all them white suits on
and get them, but they're not infectious. Well, I think
I think I think it goes back to what Greg says.
You know, there's there's only two ways you could pick
up hepatitis C and and herpes from them. There's a
couple of ways you're gonna have to get.

Speaker 2 (02:12:22):
Can you get.

Speaker 1 (02:12:24):
They're all blood not not not the faint ta Yeah.
But now the COVID you know, I guess if they
sneeze near you, you know, they they did say the
good news is nobody should be concerned because the uh,
they said that the monkeys had the vaccine and is
wearing a mask from Walgreens on.

Speaker 3 (02:12:43):
His chin, and they're staying six feet apart.

Speaker 1 (02:12:46):
Right, He's standing six feet from everybody. And and when
in a restaurant he only sits down.

Speaker 3 (02:12:50):
He never walks he always follows the little arrows on
the floor of the grocery store. Unless you forgot getting
real quick, they'll double back real quick. But then they'll
follow the arrows again.

Speaker 1 (02:13:01):
How embarrassing is it? The things that that that they
came up with very and not dumb. Most all of
it was. I googled how how how do you catch
hepatitis C?

Speaker 6 (02:13:12):
Sharing?

Speaker 1 (02:13:12):
Needles or syringes? All right, drug use, injecting drugs, all that,
blood transfusions, accidental needlesticks, sharing, personalize them items, razors, toothpaste,
and blah blah blah from an infected person, sexual contact,
and there it is, uh and mother to child transmission,

(02:13:35):
and there it is.

Speaker 6 (02:13:36):
I feel pretty safe that I can't get it from
the monkey mm hm.

Speaker 1 (02:13:40):
And if somebody announces they did people standing there right,
I give that by like yeah, and you're gonna have
hard time telling everybody that you used a razor and shave.
That's true. Many monkey shaved. Can you catch her pees?
You don't know this? Well, no, I'm just for those
that might not know, uh, mother to child transmission, sharing,

(02:14:02):
personal items, same thing, kissing and something else and something else.
So there you go, right, how about that? In case
you're wondering if you come up on the monkey, don't
do those things. Yeah, wasn't it protecting picture of this?
Now I got a Google search on those two items

(02:14:22):
that goes wipe my history picture picture picture of the colleen.
Hey man, I can't come in to day. I think
got COVID and where'd you get? I'm monkey.

Speaker 3 (02:14:37):
Picked up a hitchhiking monkey the bottom of the hour.

Speaker 4 (02:14:43):
We'll come back.

Speaker 1 (02:14:43):
So you see one of these guys riding off a horse,
you've got well you better watch out.

Speaker 6 (02:14:47):
Yeah, if the monkey learns to ride a horse, you're.

Speaker 3 (02:14:51):
You're to get your hands off of them.

Speaker 1 (02:14:52):
Especially Yeah, the already around a dog.

Speaker 4 (02:14:54):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (02:15:02):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 4 (02:15:12):
Sure he played a little ball, Rick Birches.

Speaker 1 (02:15:16):
Thanks for being with us on Sunday five, here and
ready to go for another day.

Speaker 3 (02:15:22):
We got more.

Speaker 1 (02:15:23):
You gonna believe things coming up that are still ahead
right again with Greg Burgess today, right again, another opportunity
to see if you can match Greg and get over
to the wheel of bundles, bits and bucks.

Speaker 6 (02:15:37):
Paying attention.

Speaker 1 (02:15:38):
That should happen at any it could happen at any
time on the show today Wednesday, Bible Study back today,
that's later after the show noon Central, one o'clock Eastern
on the YouTube channel. Where we're getting toward the end
of our study of the Book of Job. We still
have a few weeks left, but we will be in
the Book of Job again today and we will finally

(02:15:58):
hear the end of what Ali who has to say,
and everybody's done talking, and then next week we'll hear
from the one and only Living God himself as documented
in the Book of Job. God will give his resume,
or at least part of it starting next week. But
today we finish all the speeches, so catch that on

(02:16:19):
our YouTube channel, if not, archive out soon after. Do
you have a house you need to move? Sell my
house fast. You've heard us talk about them great people,
you know, no one, No one likes to talk about
the horrors of divorce. You know, like I say, it
is it is the sin that just keeps on delivering.
But maybe you've been caught in a situation like that,

(02:16:40):
and there's a home that needs to be sold and
so fast. That's one of the situations. Something you know
that is not as heavy but still complicated. You ended
up with a home, you know, that was left to
you by a parent or a grandparent or a great grandparent.
Maybe there's you know, property that your family's had that
you Hey, we just need to sell this whatever the

(02:17:00):
case is. If it needs to be repaired, they'll do that.
Things need to be moved, they'll do that, and they
get you cash. No real estate agent to pay. Commission
to Google. Five star reviews are everywhere. Go check out
check those for yourself. You want a fair price for
this house you're trying to sell, they'll get it. They'll
get you the money done. It's out of your life.
There you go transparent process one eight hundred seventy three

(02:17:24):
four zero five zero four, or you can go to
Rick burgesshow dot com under sponsors. The number is there
too for sell my house fast.

Speaker 6 (02:17:33):
All right, So we I think.

Speaker 1 (02:17:34):
We've covered monkeys until we have a monkey update. There's
the monkey story that a lot of you. As soon
as it broke, You're like, I know you guys will
cover this. We are you know, your resource for loot
monkeys on the run always have been in the early
days of Rick and Bubba and then throughout and we
carry that burden on into the new show. So there's

(02:17:56):
the update. But speedy, you are informing the world. That's
not all we got to deal with today. Now here's
a question, do you guys think aliens are going to
reveal themselves today? Today? Today? I mean, we got we're
trying to concentrate on monkeys in East Mississippi. Monkeys, and
we better not put everybody on that because we also

(02:18:16):
might see aliens from other planets today. That same caller
that call that one on monkeys, I hope he calls
the aliens. Well, you know where we all go to
get the truth, and that's website. Absolutely. There's a bunch
of sites that claim aliens could make first contact today today, today,
want today. They're basing it on the fact that an

(02:18:37):
interstellar comment is passing uh. It will actually pass us
UH and be closest to the Sun today, and so
they claimed this will be the first chance that aliens
could contact us today. Now we've played this Harvard scientist before,
UH and Adli you'll have to jump in and pronounce
his name. You know his name. I think it's Evy

(02:19:00):
Lobe av Lobe, that's him.

Speaker 3 (02:19:01):
That's him.

Speaker 1 (02:19:02):
And at Adler's channel. We have him talking a little
bit about aliens and all this kind of stuff. But
a lot of sites are claiming this could be the
first chance they have contact with us because it will
hit its closest point to the Sun today.

Speaker 3 (02:19:19):
And yeah, and this is the one we've talked about recently. Yeah,
and the one that's kind of been like approaching us
but hiding in the shadow of the Sun, so it's
hard to get a good look at.

Speaker 1 (02:19:28):
Right, Yeah, exactly. And it's uh, are they gonna wave
at us? I don't know, But is it Atlas or something?
Is the name of the comet?

Speaker 18 (02:19:37):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (02:19:38):
Three?

Speaker 1 (02:19:38):
Yeah, something like that. But here, here's old Pal and
Greg just hanging there. See if you can understand him.

Speaker 16 (02:19:43):
All right, he's three Atlas alien technology. And of course,
you know if it is alien technology, you you can't
do the calculation of the massive rocks and interst space
because this object is targeting the inner Solar System and
you know it will pass losses to the Sun. On
October twenty ninth, twenty twenty five, I got a text

(02:20:05):
message the other day from someone who said that he
is trading options on the volatility of the market with
an expiration date of October twenty ninth in order to
make money. And I immediately thought, I don't know if
there will be meaning to money if this object turns
out to be technological after October twenty nine. If you
want to take a vacation, take it before that day,

(02:20:26):
because who knows what will have now. It could be
a mothership that releases mini props, you know that they
come to earth. The Galileo project that I'm leading is
looking for unidentified anomalous phenomenon and we have now three
observatories and we will check if after October there is
more activity. You know, that would be interesting to check.

Speaker 1 (02:20:47):
But yeah, yeah, that's a Harvard scientist.

Speaker 6 (02:20:51):
Blossom come up.

Speaker 1 (02:20:52):
I guess it was a podcast. Her podcast. They need
to even out that blossom. They need to even out
the heads and that screen. Yeah yeah, I just pictured
myself in this guy's class. I never does. My mind
left one sentence into it and wow, I have no
idea what he said. Yeah, all of a sudden, I look,
Blossom was on there.

Speaker 3 (02:21:12):
She's from Big Bang Theory too.

Speaker 1 (02:21:14):
She's like a nerd that doesn't like nerd cultures.

Speaker 6 (02:21:19):
She'll always be blossomed to you nothing more.

Speaker 1 (02:21:22):
Could it be today? Somebody? You now, you say the
lizard people already here?

Speaker 14 (02:21:26):
Greg?

Speaker 1 (02:21:26):
Oh yeah, so he.

Speaker 3 (02:21:27):
Said many probes, he said, mothership and many probes.

Speaker 1 (02:21:31):
Okay, so let me see if I can shape break
it down to Calhoun County. What this guy just said? Okay,
is he saying that they're writing on this This isn't
a meteor and it's really a mothership?

Speaker 6 (02:21:45):
Why is this phenomenon? Comment?

Speaker 1 (02:21:49):
Are they writing on it? How are they gonna jump
off of it on the earth?

Speaker 3 (02:21:54):
Are the craft or the the object itself could be
a craft after not a comment. That is one bit
of speculation. If so, as it approaches the Sun, it
could do a number of things. It could just burn
up and then we're like, okay, it was just a comment.
It could change direction and okay, then it's in control.
It could emit some kind of signal. It could break

(02:22:16):
off with other many probes, and the next thing we know,
Greg's getting probed. Oh, they could be.

Speaker 4 (02:22:24):
It could be.

Speaker 3 (02:22:24):
All kinds of things could happen.

Speaker 1 (02:22:27):
And we'll know that when if we see more activity.
He said, today it's it's closest to the sun, and
so today is high day. Today is game day for comet. Yes,
they're just saying today is the day. And he had
a statement here, y'all walk this one out. Forming a
coment is determined by a tale, like a zebra from

(02:22:48):
a horse by its stripes. Fooling officials for comic claims like,
it's pretending to be a comic. It's pretending, but it's
actually a vessel.

Speaker 6 (02:22:59):
Yeah, the skies is a comment.

Speaker 3 (02:23:02):
It's got an unusual it's nickel heavy iron deficient, which
is odd for objects in space.

Speaker 1 (02:23:10):
It's coming. It's like, I'm a comment, I'm comment. Then
I said, oh no, it's a ship. I got you. Okay.
You might interact with somebody like let's say it at
at the store today, and you think, well, they're an alien,
you know, But I mean this is serious business. Well
what if they said, if it clears the sun, then
it's going to Uranus there it is, So what what
do you tha if somebody said, hey man, we're down here,

(02:23:34):
we're down here at space X, we can't find Elon,
and all of a sudden somebody look and he's flying
that ship they shark driving, and all of a sudden,
standing out in the middle of the vastness is Elon's
shirtless looking up at the sky pale as ever? Oh
yeah yeah, and that one monkey that they can't find,
and Mitch McConnell somebody with a great one. And it'side

(02:23:56):
of where we live. They said, it'll just be my
lucky if they land and getting the f lane in
two eighties.

Speaker 17 (02:24:01):
Oh you know it.

Speaker 1 (02:24:03):
Sure, I'm gonna tell you them just a little sidebar
my way home that our twenty is getting crowded, is it?
I mean beyond normal crowded?

Speaker 6 (02:24:11):
Oh, I mean they get a.

Speaker 1 (02:24:12):
Little bit nervous. Well, people may be diverting off all
the other places that are crowded. I mean it's always
been kind of crowded, but lately I'm talking about with
them big trucks, better look out monkeys. So all right,
let me I'm just getting this getting overcrowned a right,
So today today, i'd like to know, are you more
concerned about alien beings diseased monkeys? Oh? Wow, okay, that's

(02:24:35):
two biggies. Yeah, I mean I've seen the disease monkey.
I saw them.

Speaker 6 (02:24:39):
Yeah right, yeah, So it's uh, you've seen the aliens yet?

Speaker 1 (02:24:43):
Right now? Now, if you're in Jamaica, you don't care
about either one, but no, because you've got bigger problems.
Yeah yeah, have a lot of comment.

Speaker 6 (02:24:49):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:24:49):
So by the way, I saw that too, and I
I wondered about this, and we'll do this story today.
Texas honeymooners trapped in Jamaica.

Speaker 6 (02:24:57):
Yeah could they not?

Speaker 1 (02:24:58):
I mean, boy, will I know you got better rates.
It's not as crowded during hurricane season. But it's hurricane season.
We were talking, I hope saying both Okay, yeah, you
know what he did. It was right behind him. You've
got to Kingston on the other side of you say, well,

(02:25:19):
we got there in record time. It's a big deal.

Speaker 6 (02:25:22):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's a major deal.

Speaker 1 (02:25:23):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 4 (02:25:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (02:25:34):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 4 (02:25:41):
It's like eating lunch at the cool table the Rick
Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (02:25:48):
Hang it out with you today, enjoying it. Thank you
for being with us as we work our way through
another Rick Burgess Show. Speedy, Greg Adler, the gang all
in all right, So moving to the next thing. Now,
we'll take this off text Nation. Birds of y'all just
thought about combining the last two stories. Is it possible

(02:26:11):
these monkeys are from other planets? Is it possible the
planet herpes? This monkey allah et is trying to get home.
And this is something we'll find out later that somehow
they freed themselves. They caused the crash and they were
the trailer. They were all escaping thinking that this comment

(02:26:34):
I put quotes around there coming to get them, which
is actually the mothership is coming to get them, and
they all thought they could get out to be picked up.
Four of them eliminated, one still has hopes of getting
back home. Is this possible. That's something to consider. I
think it's all on the table. I don't take would
let themselves be captured become lab animals? Greg the smart

(02:26:57):
the actress that says just that she'll always be blosso
some to you, they say in real life, is actually
a neurosciences Wait a minute, is it one of them
degrees if they just give you or is she straight
into that. I don't know, Honorary. I don't think you
can just be given a neuroscientist.

Speaker 3 (02:27:13):
I think she's she's all in.

Speaker 1 (02:27:15):
She's the one that hosted she's a neurosciences.

Speaker 3 (02:27:18):
He did host Jepardy.

Speaker 1 (02:27:19):
That's science she is, Greg, So are you? She seems
more like one, you know, yeah, you know when she's
on the Geek Show. Was it going with them?

Speaker 15 (02:27:33):
Now?

Speaker 3 (02:27:33):
Mayam Bailey lt Mayam Chaia Bilic don't have a normal name. Greg,
make fun of that.

Speaker 1 (02:27:40):
I never got I never got a good in Beaches
as a kid. That was She's pretty good. Wow, that's
It's almost like it's you know those glasses you can get. Oh,
yeah it is.

Speaker 6 (02:27:48):
I'm not going to do you remember that time and
I know where you're trying to put me in it.

Speaker 1 (02:27:51):
No, I'm just saying it does look like one of
those glasses you put on. And I didn't know she
was discussed.

Speaker 3 (02:27:55):
She's got her from the University of California, Los Angeles.
She's got her Bachelor of Side and a PhD in philosophy.

Speaker 1 (02:28:02):
When she have time for all that, she's actings, not
that I don't want to call it acting.

Speaker 17 (02:28:07):
Is not that hard.

Speaker 1 (02:28:08):
They don't have to come to work every day like us. Yeah,
but those two degrees take a minute. They How old
is she?

Speaker 2 (02:28:13):
She was born in.

Speaker 3 (02:28:16):
Seventy five.

Speaker 1 (02:28:17):
Well, then again she did Beaches. She did then she
took it I thought she did before she went to
Big Bang. Yeah, I thought she did Beaches then Blossom.
Maybe she did. She co hosted for a year at least.
I think you're right. I got a year. Why are
you thinking out of her career? The Jeopardy things to
be the latest thing, the latest actually apparently.

Speaker 6 (02:28:37):
This podcast, and then she got Blossom because she was older.

Speaker 3 (02:28:41):
Yeah, Beaches is eighty eight, Blossom is ninety to ninety five.

Speaker 1 (02:28:44):
Yeah she was. Do you remember tonight on a Special
Blossom they covered some tough topics. Oh they did right
now that monttone voice, Yes, awesome, starting to get moody
tonight on a Special Blossom. Do you remember that? You

(02:29:08):
remember that google Blossom becomes unreasonable Tonight on a Special Blossom.
Read that. We don't read it. Just read it to yourself.
Read it.

Speaker 6 (02:29:20):
If that's true.

Speaker 2 (02:29:21):
That's not true.

Speaker 1 (02:29:21):
Nobody read that, you know them Bradler to google it.
It does remind me what I'm doing.

Speaker 8 (02:29:27):
It, not you.

Speaker 1 (02:29:32):
She's vegan. I'm just on her by the way these
degrees do her and the feeding by the way, these
two degrees.

Speaker 6 (02:29:41):
That's what somebody said. It's out there.

Speaker 3 (02:29:47):
She's a dawn vaccinating family.

Speaker 1 (02:29:51):
So I'm good with I bet they think just a little.

Speaker 4 (02:29:54):
Sure.

Speaker 1 (02:29:55):
But by the way, if you can spell your name,
you shouldn't be getting breastfed. No, no, you care you
can write your name. I mean, you can actually just
sit down and have a conversation. No, no, bulls, no no.
If after you you're out of a car seat, you
shouldn't be. How about this, if after after you've dined
on lunch, Mama tosses you the keys.

Speaker 6 (02:30:15):
Yeah, okay, so.

Speaker 3 (02:30:18):
Up until four is what I'm reading.

Speaker 1 (02:30:20):
Okay, speak are exaggerated along not ten and for still
we wish it wasn't quite the rivers riding a bike?

Speaker 6 (02:30:28):
Right, yeah, I'm saying you can ride a bike. You
don't even be doing that. But well, how about this,
I'll go I'll go this far.

Speaker 1 (02:30:35):
If you can put together the subject of verb relationship, yes,
and ask for it, and ask for it correctly, incorrect grammar.
You know what I mean, and you can identify it.
You're not even calling it something Mommy calls it anymore.
You're actually correct. All right. So but looking at this,
I will have to ask, this is neuroscientist a bit
of a stretch from those two degrees we just saw

(02:30:57):
I don't think that makes you a neuroscientist. Almost philosophy. Yeah,
and what was what was the other one?

Speaker 3 (02:31:02):
Bachelor's of science.

Speaker 1 (02:31:04):
I don't think that makes you a neuroscientist. It makes
you a college graduate with a philosophy degree in a
bachelor of science, but it doesn't make you a neuroscientist.
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (02:31:15):
That seems a bit of a streat something.

Speaker 3 (02:31:17):
Just because child has teeth doesn't mean they should please start.

Speaker 1 (02:31:22):
Let's get off that top. I will say back to
your neuroscientist, Well, I'll tell you what it is. This
did remind me about these honeymooners though, How about the
Texas honeymooners? Back to serious? Okay, Well, the word trapped
in Jamaica is being used here. And look, I don't
have I understand the bishops. We're excited about their honeymoon.
You plan these things, but you know, we've known about

(02:31:45):
this hurricane. Hurricanes don't sneak up on your tornado. And
they've been one hundred percent on this one is going
to hit Jamaica. Yeah, they said that days ago. It
says that they they they're from Texas. The strangest spelling
of Cassidy I've ever seen. But Cassidy and Hunter Bishop,
they're stranded in Jamaica now, as you would expect.

Speaker 6 (02:32:08):
They said that they were.

Speaker 1 (02:32:11):
They didn't start the evacuation mandate until the day they
were going to land. But you still knew that the
hurricane probability was high, very high, and you knew you
could get stuck there in a hurricane. They still went
on end. They were staying at Montigo Bay. I wouldn't
believe the rate they got. Yeah, and that's on the

(02:32:32):
island's northwest coast. They got there just before the evacuation
orders that I said were issued. They said, all we
are hearing now is intense. How intense the storm is
going to be. Because you know, we can't communicate with
them now and we really have no idea what to expect.
I'm going to have to just say, maybe cancel this. Yeah,
was probably a good idea. They do say, we feel

(02:32:54):
pretty safe because they're now in a shelter or they
were waiting on the storm. But you said, there's a
little bit of good news for Jamaica, and that's still
going to be devastating. But the storm actually ended up
hitting It didn't hit the most populated parts as far
as head on, it all got hit. But and that

(02:33:15):
that hopefully that's going to minimize the loss of life
still going to be devastating and property is still going
to be devastating. But you're saying that Kingston thinks they
may get the airport operational even by maybe later today
or to the morning. Yeah, you know, span when we
had talking about Hurricane Melissa, he talked about that the

(02:33:37):
hurricane force wins. The good thing about this is that
they only extended thirty miles out from the eye. That's right.
So even though the other side of the island still
you know, got hurricane type conditions, that does help because
it hit the western side of the island now hitting Cuba.
So yeah, but there's a little there's a little good news.

(02:33:58):
And the other Kingston and those folks weren't Yeah it
is hit U is the left side.

Speaker 3 (02:34:06):
Here, So that approach, it's just like unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (02:34:11):
Yeah, so you're you're right though speed it did hit
a smaller part of the island. They were afraid it
was gonna just go right in the middle of it, right,
So so.

Speaker 6 (02:34:21):
That that'll help.

Speaker 1 (02:34:22):
So hopefully they've been inconvenience. But they're okay, yeah, and
hopefully and they did get to a shelter, so that's good.
But staying with that hamoon, playing with that forecast. Would
you go through this though, if they said, hey, man,
here's your money back, y'all can stay here, that you would?

Speaker 7 (02:34:42):
You would?

Speaker 1 (02:34:42):
That's where that's what I'm thinking, you would? I wouldn't
you would?

Speaker 4 (02:34:46):
This is the Rick Burgers Show.

an actor playing Sanchez. Are the the great job though?
Are the young actor or the young actor who will
be playing you? Timothy Timothy's last name? I met him.
You did a great job, wonderful. So anyway, we also
have director here of God did it, Kevin Wayne. So

(02:38:45):
let me start with you, Sanchez, seeing you so don't
try to be Sanchez? What does what does your dad
think about all this? Is he like these?

Speaker 2 (02:38:57):
If growing in them? It's going.

Speaker 1 (02:39:02):
He's not hanging all the way in yet? Was that
him at the shoot?

Speaker 6 (02:39:08):
Was he there that day? I was looking for him.

Speaker 1 (02:39:10):
I wanted to go over and kind of get a
feel of how he felt.

Speaker 10 (02:39:12):
About what went on.

Speaker 2 (02:39:13):
He was fitting that home on the porch when I
got there.

Speaker 6 (02:39:18):
Did he hear Speedy play him?

Speaker 1 (02:39:20):
Okay?

Speaker 17 (02:39:22):
I'm still proud of you?

Speaker 1 (02:39:23):
So I think it might have been on Instagram. I
can't remember the first time I saw you reach out
and if I if I remember it right, you were like, Hey,
would you consider playing a coach in in in my movie?
I didn't know what it was? How did how did

(02:39:45):
that happen?

Speaker 2 (02:39:47):
I just prayed about it, you know, and I wanted
somebody from Birmingham. Yeah okay, And I said what about?
Well the Lord said what about? Rick said, huh okay.

Speaker 1 (02:40:00):
Yeah. Anytime the Lord has said to anybody, what about,
Everybody's answered what Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:40:07):
That's happened so many times.

Speaker 1 (02:40:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:40:10):
So I said, I'm gonna get this man, I'm gonna
give them. I'm gonna reach all Avenue one of the
is gonna it's gonna amphaback.

Speaker 1 (02:40:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:40:18):
It took us two weeks, three weeks, I think two weeks.

Speaker 6 (02:40:20):
Yeah, two three weeks. Yeah, that's quick with him. Well,
well I'm honored for that.

Speaker 1 (02:40:27):
And it's you know, I thought it might have been,
of course, that what you're talking about even more powerful,
you know, with our dad obviously being such an iconic
coach in our state and us the book that just
came out. I thought that might have prompted it because
you know, I basically was channeling him, you know, most
of it. So but yeah, that us playing coaches. Not

(02:40:49):
not a big stretch. Yeah, yeah, not a big stretch.

Speaker 2 (02:40:52):
But thank you for that.

Speaker 6 (02:40:53):
Yes, So what Kevin?

Speaker 1 (02:40:55):
You you took this project on. So Kevin who directs
it and is directing it, and you know, I want
to thank you for your style. You know, let me
kind of have a little space and you know you
can overdirect, right yeah yeah, and did you feel like
you did? It's almost like you just turned me loose.

Speaker 9 (02:41:13):
You know.

Speaker 29 (02:41:15):
My approach to directing is a lot different from most directors.
I let the actor get in the scene, and I
like things conversational. I know this was this scene was
more dynamic because you were coaching and all that stuff.
But I just I just like left the actor to
and you saw the scene between you and Rod on
the bleachers, you know, I just that's why just just

(02:41:37):
sat down with y'all, just talked about it and let
y'all go.

Speaker 1 (02:41:40):
You did. You did a good job of reminding us
what was going on. Rod had already done a good
job of doing his studying the role. He was the
one that kept trying to get me to talk to
him and say, now here's where I am, I'm and whatever,
And then he could tell pretty quick that he had
really thought that through more than me. And then you
came over and and said, okay, let's let's review this
conversation is about. And that's very helpful. Then you kind

(02:42:03):
of just let us go, and I realized that, you know,
you quickly let me know Adams told me this might
happen that me trying to insert there that that that
you're the guy playing your dad, not Greg, but the
real actor Rod. That that when I tried to put
in there about me as the coach being concerned about
Sanchez been on the team. I'm going to tell you
the truth. But you can't handle the truth. And you

(02:42:25):
told me I couldn't use that line, and and so
you had already told you you can't handle the truth, right, yeah,
and you you. But I actually even thought about it.
Ain't on me.

Speaker 7 (02:42:36):
With all.

Speaker 1 (02:42:37):
But when I realized that his line was it won't,
well that doesn't work. So because that didn't make sense,
so I have to so I stuck with the line.
Well maybe that's what it's called a script. Yeah, Kevin,
let me apologize on behalf of everybody here.

Speaker 11 (02:42:53):
Rick.

Speaker 1 (02:42:55):
He seems to think he can change things and correct
them the way he thinks they should run. So when
he saw the lines, he was like, well I think
it should be this way, and we were like, was
probably the other way for a reason, Yeah, for a
reason to Kevin's point, And I stayed right to the script.
I did get one ad lib and you kept it.
You're killing us to get the kid that kept missing

(02:43:18):
his assignment. Thank you for allowing me that one. That
was one thing that was get that because he kept missing.

Speaker 6 (02:43:24):
What was funny?

Speaker 1 (02:43:24):
Did you noticed the kid he was just an extra
and he was not You had no one that was
in the script. Did you notice the guy number sixty
eight started realizing I guess I'm this guy, and he
starts saying so that now Rix's gonna get on me
every play, and he would just look at me like
I hang man, And I was like, you're not really
Williamson to all the kids are like, who's Williams?

Speaker 3 (02:43:46):
Who's so? And all the kids were like, who's that
hot teacher in the stand?

Speaker 1 (02:43:52):
There you go, Sanchez, What did you think when you
heard Adler took a few liberties and he also played
your mom?

Speaker 6 (02:44:00):
If I told them, did pass about what thirteen years ago?

Speaker 2 (02:44:03):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (02:44:04):
No?

Speaker 14 (02:44:04):
No?

Speaker 7 (02:44:04):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:44:05):
Four years four years ago?

Speaker 1 (02:44:06):
Okay, I tried.

Speaker 10 (02:44:08):
Good.

Speaker 17 (02:44:09):
So is miss Valentine you too?

Speaker 15 (02:44:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:44:11):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (02:44:13):
Is Miss Valentine a real person?

Speaker 15 (02:44:15):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:44:15):
I love Okay, thank goodness, Okay.

Speaker 3 (02:44:18):
Because I was not a whole backstory for her. Greg.
Greg used to work for the Power Company. I used
to work a pole too, if you know what?

Speaker 17 (02:44:26):
Oh no, no you doing?

Speaker 3 (02:44:29):
That was a different life though. Don't make me go
down that yellow brick road again.

Speaker 1 (02:44:33):
Boy, right, yeah, that's so, come on, I will come back.
We'll talk to the man who the story is about.
We'll talk about the state of this production, what what
what's going on? With it, how it all came to
be with Sanchez, Tannehill and director.

Speaker 4 (02:44:54):
Right after this, this is the Rick Burgess Show, the
man who shaved thirty minutes off his last road trip.

Speaker 1 (02:45:15):
Riches not trying to brag efficient with time, all right,
So he looks sleep dot com slash big Vox. So
this is real simple stuff. What do you think would
be better sleeping on a mattress that is kind of
designed for everybody in general? Are sleeping on a mattress
that is specifically designed for you. That's an easy, easy answer. Obviously,

(02:45:37):
it would be the latter. Greg and his wife Lisa
sleep on HELIXX mattress every single night and love it
because it was customized for them. Rick, What do you
mean they customize it for me? What do you mean, Well,
there's a little sleep quiz. It doesn't take very long.
You know it's not gonna take very You know it's
not gonna take very long because Greg actually did it.

(02:45:57):
So and they want to know that. You sleep on
your back, on your side, your stomach, do you rotate?
Do you like a firm mattress, you like a medium mattress?
You want you want a soft one? So they're gonna
they want to know those things, so we're gonna get
you twenty percent off in free shipping right now. If
you go to heliicsleep dot com, slash Big Vox, handle

(02:46:17):
the sleep quiz real simple.

Speaker 3 (02:46:20):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:46:20):
They even have mattresses designed for children, so let them
know if that's what you're looking for.

Speaker 6 (02:46:25):
They have big and tall sizes.

Speaker 20 (02:46:27):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:46:27):
They are twenty unique mattresses that they'll customize for your preferences.
And you have one hundred nights to sleep on it
to be be sure you love it. You will. But
if in that one hundred nights you go no, I
don't think so. I don't think that will happen. But
if it does, they'll refund it, so don't worry about that.
In the shipping, like I said, is free, and you
got one hundred nights to be sure that you love it.

(02:46:48):
Go to helisleep dot com, slash Big Vox. Director Kevin
Wayne is with us uh and of course Sanchez Tannehill.
The movie is called God Did It. It's in the
process of being produced. I was honored to be asked
to be part of that process. We had a great
day of shooting. So uh. First of all, Kevin let's

(02:47:08):
talk about this. I think everybody you told me way
way back that when Bubba and I were part of
the movie Rushted, Right, you were part of that operation
as well, right, well, yeah it was I was a
meat love standing, you.

Speaker 6 (02:47:23):
Were a meat low standing.

Speaker 1 (02:47:25):
Yeah. I was much taller than him. You don't look
at anything like.

Speaker 3 (02:47:30):
Janelle Gone.

Speaker 29 (02:47:31):
Do you remember Janelle Cochran was the casting director of
the assistant, so she kind of did me a favor.

Speaker 1 (02:47:35):
Okay, so that's why. But yeah, we we were.

Speaker 29 (02:47:38):
Downtown right at a bar, real hot, real hot, and
I was sitting at the bar, yep, and y'all are there,
and Yo asked me where I was from. I said
Huettown and you said Gopher And so that's right, yeah,
And that's twenty years ago.

Speaker 1 (02:47:51):
That was Yeah, that's spent a long time ago. So
so when when tell us how you got involved? How
is this movie? Obviously Sanchez has an incredible story, He's
been telling his testimony for a while. How did the
process happen? When you say I think this could be
a movie.

Speaker 29 (02:48:10):
A while back, Sanchez approached me to direct a music
video for him. It's ten maybe ten years ago, and
it just didn't work out and we became friends, and
then he started telling me about he wanted this h
he wanted his story told I said, well, we need
to make a film, and then he said okay.

Speaker 2 (02:48:27):
So that kind of.

Speaker 29 (02:48:28):
Started that process and we kept going back and forth
and I said, we got to do it. And so
we finally sat down met at Starbucks and I said,
I got a friend that can help write this Griffin Hood.
And so we got his book and his outline and
gave it to Griffin and he produced the script and

(02:48:49):
we decided to go for it. And then so we
tried to get some funding, and then I decided to
make a trailer which came out and did pretty well,
and then we got some funding, and then we shot
the football scenes with you, and then that's where we're at.

Speaker 1 (02:49:07):
So yeah, so this is you know, and this is
now becoming the normal of so many things. I mean,
you've seen how music has changed, making movies has changed.
So this is going to be crowdfunded. Uh and and
these things are not inexpensive, but you know it doesn't.
Everybody can a lot, A little from a lot still

(02:49:29):
gets just where we need to be. So if someone's
out there and they're like, I want to see the trailer.
I want to know more about it. I want to
be part of helping this movie reach completion. What what
do they need to do?

Speaker 8 (02:49:40):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:49:41):
They can go to my Websitefanchesstennehill dot com or find
us on Facebook fan Chess Tennehill and it's right there
when you go to stroll down my page, and so you.

Speaker 1 (02:49:51):
Can check it and be part of it. And so
and I know that we're funded through this what we
just did, right, but now that to complete the rest
of the movie, where now the funding has got to
be there first and you take the next step right
and and and is it coming together? Is just the
way you kind of saw it exactly.

Speaker 29 (02:50:08):
Yeah, And I knew this would probably be piece together,
you know because of the funding. Uh, we have a
we had a private investor, uh invested the money to
shoot all those the football scenes.

Speaker 1 (02:50:21):
And so we're looking for more. Yeah, and I and
we just have first of all, we we love your
story and and of course Kevin lovel work. It was
so good to get together and get to see you
again and actually do something even even something more memorable
together than the first time. But you know, I've got
a real hard for this because I have my own

(02:50:42):
you know, actor son and also have my own filmmaker
son who who I understand this world. When you're out
there and you're you believe in a film, you're putting
it together. You you're doing all that and trying to
find people to come alongside that, it's you got to hustle,
You gotta work, right, So I thought since you guys
were you know, first of all, we believe in what
you're doing. It's a faith based film and Tannehill's story

(02:51:05):
is Sanchez. Your story is incredible.

Speaker 2 (02:51:07):
To God be the glory.

Speaker 1 (02:51:08):
That's right? Yeah, I mean can you can you believe
the things that you've seen God already?

Speaker 7 (02:51:13):
Do?

Speaker 2 (02:51:15):
I mean at night everyone I leave my head that
I said, thank you Lord.

Speaker 3 (02:51:19):
And for people that don't know, can can we just
get a quick yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:51:22):
Yeah, we don't want to give away the whole movie obviously.
I mean, I can't believe I'm saying that because I'm
always willing to right. You've given it all. So would
y'all like for me to tell you the Sanchez story?

Speaker 7 (02:51:32):
I know it.

Speaker 28 (02:51:34):
Let me tell you Sanchez. We're up against the baby.

Speaker 1 (02:51:37):
I would like to apologize to you if we've gone
too far because Rick didn't tell us the story of
the movie he was in, so we kind of just
freelanced and went off on our own and not knowing
that you did have a stroke and I said something
about it it's fun, and did not know that right,
so Rick didn't tell us. Speedy said to Greg as

(02:51:57):
he was playing Sanchez, you sound like you've had a stroke.

Speaker 3 (02:52:00):
I got masp happened.

Speaker 2 (02:52:04):
I got hung up listening to.

Speaker 3 (02:52:06):
It, Sanchaz. What's what's it like being a good person,
because we we don't know everybody that's on this show.

Speaker 2 (02:52:15):
Care Grace everywhere I go. Yes, I cared Grace everywhere.

Speaker 17 (02:52:20):
Should have been.

Speaker 6 (02:52:22):
You know what's so cool about him?

Speaker 1 (02:52:23):
With this phenomenal attitude which is infectious, and the audience
is are saying this. I walk up on the on
the set and I'm like, this is uncomfortable. After how
the show, you know, handled this running lines on Friday,
it was good and you know what, he cut down
the space between the two of us. Came over, was
immediately kind and saying, hey, it's all good. I'm laughing.

Speaker 2 (02:52:46):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (02:52:46):
I knew what I was getting into when I brought.

Speaker 2 (02:52:50):
You.

Speaker 1 (02:52:50):
Did you see Greg playing you laying on the floor
that he did that pretty good? Did you get you
got hit hard?

Speaker 2 (02:52:57):
Reclip?

Speaker 7 (02:53:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:53:03):
And and Kevin, I know that you've already mentioned this.
I don't want to say it.

Speaker 1 (02:53:07):
A lot of people are saying that they expected me
and coaches shorts and I thought you made a good decision.
You thought that my casts would distract from the movie. Yeah,
and for me said put those long pants on coaching,
we'll come.

Speaker 13 (02:53:25):
Back more of the time.

Speaker 3 (02:53:26):
Was wishing you to be in some of those short friends.

Speaker 6 (02:53:28):
Okay, okay, we may write Miss Valentine.

Speaker 3 (02:53:32):
Sorry, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 6 (02:53:33):
We're here his story.

Speaker 9 (02:53:34):
Next.

Speaker 4 (02:53:36):
This is the Rick Burger Show.

Speaker 1 (02:53:45):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of the Rick Burger Show.

Speaker 4 (02:53:49):
It's like eating lunch at the cool table the Rick
Burger Show.

Speaker 3 (02:53:55):
We're back.

Speaker 1 (02:53:56):
Thanks you for being with us talking about the movie again. God,
I did it. We've had We've had a lot of
fun helping with this movie. We believe in it. We're
excited about it, hoping, uh, looking forward to that day
that we all get to go see it in its
finished product. It is based on the story of Sanchez Tannehill,

(02:54:16):
who is with us today, the real Sanchez real and
as Adler pointed out, a lot of people may not
know your story.

Speaker 6 (02:54:22):
So tell us your incredible story.

Speaker 2 (02:54:24):
Okay, I growed up healthy, I growed up as a
I growed up healthy. I had a stroke at sixth
week old. The doctors told my parents he ain't gonna
make it through, he ain't gonna live, He's gonna be
a vegetable. And my mom kept praying, stayed on the
stayed in the hospital for like three months with me wow,

(02:54:47):
slept on the floor. She went home one time and
they made a wrong difision. Oh, they tried to put
a shunt in my head.

Speaker 1 (02:54:57):
Really yep.

Speaker 2 (02:54:59):
She rushed back to the hospital and they they was
they were prepping me. It didn't happen.

Speaker 1 (02:55:06):
She shut it down. Yeah, So they were about to
do a procedure and she was praying, saying, yep, it's
gonna be this. It's not gonna be something shot in
his head something like that.

Speaker 2 (02:55:16):
Yep. So after that she stayed at the hospital and
she kept praying and kept praying. She said, my child
will make it through this. So and came home.

Speaker 1 (02:55:30):
Mm hmm. So you you throughout your life, you obviously
did have some effects from the stroke, yes, but physically only.
So tell us that's come of the challenges you do have.

Speaker 2 (02:55:46):
I I walked with a limp from the stroke, and
then at night I only got one eye fight at night,
I'm blind if it affected the side.

Speaker 1 (02:55:59):
Okay, So I see blur. Okay, So tell us don't
want to be away the whole movie. But so you
obviously from what I can gather from your story the
parts that I do know about it, Yes, you have
seen God give you a life that that that at
the beginning of your life you were you and your

(02:56:22):
family were told would be impossible.

Speaker 2 (02:56:24):
Yep, yes, sir.

Speaker 6 (02:56:26):
Yeah, So tell us some of the things you're doing.

Speaker 2 (02:56:28):
I'm a gospel artist in trade. I got two books
out in the stores, and I get to go around
in the world, get to go to El Sabador every
year and share my story of God's faithfulness. And I'm
running a nonprofit organization called God Did It Ministries. Yeah,

(02:56:49):
dealing with stroke survivors.

Speaker 6 (02:56:51):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (02:56:52):
So, so in the city you live in, Alabasters, Yes,
y'all have an event once a year, the year put
together Right and May, Yes, for strug awareness. Okay, that's awesome. Yeah,
apparently Greg wasn't you Both of you were not very
aware of it. That's your fault.

Speaker 6 (02:57:09):
You do you live over by all about you seen it.

Speaker 1 (02:57:12):
I know we had bumped into san Chez, didn't know
his story and everything else. But this is this is
quite a blessing to meet you in person. Yes, sir,
so now you were telling me too, you also working
in security. Ye, we do.

Speaker 2 (02:57:25):
We do special events at different than you was around
Birmingham and some and tough scalusave. So we just checked
backs and drive people today cars, golf carts.

Speaker 6 (02:57:37):
Okay, that's how I meant.

Speaker 2 (02:57:40):
Trumpson game.

Speaker 1 (02:57:41):
You remember you remember getting gregor r Yes, sir, yeah,
we were going over to do the pick. They have
a TV show on picking the games. Of course I won. Yeah, yeah,
san Chez took it. It took me a second. We
were talking about it and Rick said, I know exactly.

Speaker 2 (02:58:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:58:01):
So this this thing that we got to do on
this wonderful day together with Kevin and all the people
that were there, the other actors and the extras.

Speaker 6 (02:58:10):
And I thought those extras.

Speaker 1 (02:58:11):
Hung in there. They did. That's not easy, especially when
you're your your males who are young. Now I did
find out that when we told them to take a break,
that was the end of craft services.

Speaker 2 (02:58:23):
They as they wiped it out.

Speaker 6 (02:58:26):
Break, they cleaned us out.

Speaker 1 (02:58:28):
That's that's a lot of football players. So they were six,
seven and eight graders, right right.

Speaker 29 (02:58:32):
Yeah, So we're thankful for them because, like you know,
how hard it isn't get background and they came out.

Speaker 1 (02:58:38):
So we shout to the Yeah, the whole city really
and what they embrace you man, you're you're, you're, You're
one of their favorite sons. So this did this is
this because I know movies based on true stories, sometimes
there's things that are added to kind of pull it together,
and you know, and then there's things and this is

(02:58:59):
exactly how it happened. Did your dad really think it
was good for you to try to be part of
a football team? Did that really happen?

Speaker 2 (02:59:08):
Well, it was, it was it was my mom pushed it.

Speaker 1 (02:59:12):
So your mom was pushing.

Speaker 2 (02:59:13):
Yeah, she said, hey, he it was wrong with him.
He's just like the rest of them, get out there
and play.

Speaker 28 (02:59:23):
So so you but it was not the best, the
best decision at all.

Speaker 6 (02:59:33):
It didn't work out really well.

Speaker 2 (02:59:34):
I can't I can't say I tried everything growing up.
You know, you can try stuff. You know, I ain't
not wrong with trying stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:59:46):
The mascott. Yeah, so you went from you went from
possible starting defensive lineman. Uh and when you realize that
road was closed, that you went you became the team's mascot. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:59:59):
So you you dressed as the Warrior for for four years.
That's what I said, not about that. And then and
then I went on and did that. I got a
job for bay rough At, I opened that stadium up.

Speaker 6 (03:00:22):
You know, maybe we should maybe we should do this.
God did it?

Speaker 1 (03:00:25):
The the rise from defensive line to team masters. You know,
when you look for your place on the team, you
founded mascot I did. Yeah. Yeah, but yeah, when we
were doing that scene and Kevin you were there, I
mean we had a stunt and this young actor who

(03:00:46):
you know, they said that had a hard time finding
an actor that was right for young Sanchez and this
kid was great, goes to Troy and and he's, you know,
hoping to study to be an acting and and were
you surprised that because you know, I know my oldest
son actually got into the business by doing sports stunts.
So that is available. Yes, the actor does not have

(03:01:06):
to take the hit. You can put a stunt double
and stunt double in and and this he told me.
The young guy's like, no, I want to try to
do my own stunt.

Speaker 29 (03:01:14):
And we reached out and like we had cast him
because you know, like I said, we had we did
a long search because young Sanchez had to be able
to sing too, because you know, feather than the script.
He's got to sing right, and so he Timothy can
sing as well. And so I had my casting director
Paula reach out to him, say you're gonna take this hit,
and he's like, yeah, I take it, okay. So so

(03:01:36):
I wrote him my stunt coordinator and he didn't. He
wasn't crazy about it. He wanted to bring in a guy,
but I said, the actors said he could do it.

Speaker 1 (03:01:43):
So and he took it, and he took it and
it looked good. Yeah, it looked good and he got hit.
He got hit pretty good.

Speaker 3 (03:01:50):
Sanchez.

Speaker 1 (03:01:50):
Do you remember that day when you got him?

Speaker 28 (03:01:52):
Yeah, hey, for real, I thought I was going on
the glory. I did, for real, I'll go.

Speaker 3 (03:02:08):
And we wrote it just like like he told us.
He's like he said, the coach putty on the sideline.

Speaker 28 (03:02:13):
He's just looking around and he got hit on the sideline.

Speaker 6 (03:02:16):
I don't forget he was not in the script. He
got to take it out standing on the sideline, looking
at the sky.

Speaker 2 (03:02:23):
I don't know whether the birds. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (03:02:28):
They say, you know you're on the ground, you said,
I and survived the stroke as a baby, And they
got killed on the sideline.

Speaker 3 (03:02:36):
Take them out.

Speaker 6 (03:02:40):
Football got a lot of contacted.

Speaker 2 (03:02:42):
It ain't for me. But hey, y'all doing a great
job football players, But it ain't for me.

Speaker 1 (03:02:50):
Like Charles Barkley, just one football.

Speaker 6 (03:02:53):
Where's that mascot? Did you ever worry?

Speaker 1 (03:02:57):
Though?

Speaker 6 (03:02:57):
Honestly?

Speaker 1 (03:02:58):
Did you kind of have some pta because mascots sometimes
do stand on the sideline.

Speaker 6 (03:03:02):
They're not always on the track. Sometimes they're on the field.

Speaker 2 (03:03:05):
Actually I had a person if I stood on the field,
they pulled me back, get back.

Speaker 3 (03:03:13):
To get back, they get back.

Speaker 1 (03:03:16):
Well, the audience is in love with you, as everybody
who comes in contact with you, and and and Kevin,
thank you for and and I guess so Sanchez is
who I need to think. He was the one that said, hey,
let's let's try to get birds for the coach. Everybody,
thank you for approving that you're casting director Paula for
doing that.

Speaker 2 (03:03:33):
Yeah, when when he mentioned I said absolutely so that
I had a blast.

Speaker 1 (03:03:38):
So if I need to come out doing to pick
up sing Joe, let me know. But and Adler, don't
bring him.

Speaker 2 (03:03:46):
We know Adler's character is still in the corner back though.

Speaker 16 (03:03:49):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (03:03:50):
And Kevin, I could tell the way you were looking
at me, you already see me in other roles. So
my my acting career is going to launch at sixty one.

Speaker 2 (03:03:59):
I do have that other one we talked about, we'll
talk about okay.

Speaker 1 (03:04:02):
Can I ask Sanchez something real quick? Are we okay
to continue to talk about it? Or do we need
to h what do we need to be doing?

Speaker 2 (03:04:08):
No?

Speaker 1 (03:04:08):
I mean like, do we I know, have your story?
You just talked about it?

Speaker 2 (03:04:11):
Is there any continue to talk about it?

Speaker 1 (03:04:12):
Because I guess Rick's not gonna tell us. So I
thought I'd just go to the source and ask if we're.

Speaker 2 (03:04:17):
Okay, Yeah, you're good, you can talk about it.

Speaker 6 (03:04:20):
So if you want to find out more, website again.

Speaker 2 (03:04:23):
Than chess Tenney hill dot com.

Speaker 3 (03:04:25):
All right, And if you it's Valentine won't talk about
it because she can keep a secret.

Speaker 2 (03:04:30):
They does she go.

Speaker 1 (03:04:36):
So and pray about it if you'd like to find
out more. You love to come on the journey uh
with everybody involved in the movie. So we will one
day have it, uh you know completed. Uh join this
crowdfunded project. God did it. These are the kind of
movies that we need more of, and what a blast
to be part of it. Sanchez. Good to see you, Kevin,

(03:04:57):
good to see you again. By We'll be right back.

Speaker 6 (03:05:00):
More than Rick Burgers Show coming up.

Speaker 1 (03:05:01):
Right after this.

Speaker 4 (03:05:06):
This is the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 1 (03:05:16):
Hey, this is Rick and you're listening to the best
of the Rick Burgers Show.

Speaker 4 (03:05:29):
Doing what he was born to do. Love Rick Budger's Show.

Speaker 1 (03:05:37):
All right, America, thanks for being with us today. A
lot of you as most people do. Uh fall in
love with Sanchez Dani fun visit Uh the great laugh
when he's talking about him thinking that he is going
to gory after they're gonna shot on the side line.
Keep in mind the coach was a phrasing hurt and

(03:05:59):
got him on the side to try to get him
out of danger, and he gets drilled on sideline and
the coach on me on me. Uh So anyway, we'll
keep you updated on how that's going. That's been a
lot of fun and a good contact for us going forward.
I think Sanchez has a future on this show of
Nowhere Else. All right, So some other things to to

(03:06:19):
discuss on the program today. This is interesting this video
eight Admer, Have you ever thought to yourself, wherever you live,
you think, well, this is the worst place on the
planet to drive. Well, if you really want to know
what you know, this has some weight. What if this
is what you do for a living. All you do

(03:06:40):
is drive. You're a trucker and you drive all over
this country. You know what to dread whatnot? All over
this land. Adler and Speedy have put together a video
today from truckers and they're going to tell us what
they think are the worst places to drive? Right is
this is it the place or of the worst place?

Speaker 3 (03:07:00):
Where do truckers hate going?

Speaker 1 (03:07:02):
Okay, all right, here we go. What's one place you
refuse to go northeast?

Speaker 14 (03:07:07):
Anywhere in the northeast California, California?

Speaker 17 (03:07:10):
Why?

Speaker 3 (03:07:11):
Because California sucks?

Speaker 6 (03:07:12):
I don't go to California.

Speaker 1 (03:07:13):
Baby. Mexico, Mexico, Yeah, Mexico, what are you doing out there?

Speaker 2 (03:07:22):
I went to Long Island.

Speaker 3 (03:07:23):
One time I went through New York. I'll never go
back there again.

Speaker 14 (03:07:26):
You couldn't pay me enough to go back there again.

Speaker 3 (03:07:27):
Well, I won't say that money does.

Speaker 1 (03:07:29):
Talk the city.

Speaker 14 (03:07:31):
Like you know, it's not made for it's not made
for trucks like five places, a little bit of tucky
and why low bridges. It's hard to get around them,
especially if you're not a local. Nashville, Tennessee potholes Crashville
crash hold. You could be in a straight line and
a poole will throw you into somebody else. Atlanta, Georgia,

(03:07:54):
everybody in these more parts riding around. I don't like no,
nobody like Northeast. But Minnesota. Minnesota is another headache too.

Speaker 1 (03:08:04):
Yeah, sostrated the Northeast did not farewell in that California
did not farewell. And of course you're big cities. One
guy through Mexico, I don't.

Speaker 5 (03:08:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:08:15):
I think I think he was spoke before he thought
t am I.

Speaker 1 (03:08:19):
But I'm glad Atlanta made the list because y'all heard
us all struggles.

Speaker 6 (03:08:25):
Atlanta is Atlanta is something.

Speaker 1 (03:08:26):
I mean, there's no wrex and like you said, Greg,
there's just too many people, too many people. You have
six lanes and still not go anywhere. And I'm going
I'm going to Atlanta next weekend. Oh stuff, I finally
got used to it. This week.

Speaker 6 (03:08:43):
This week, I say, oh my goodness.

Speaker 1 (03:08:47):
That's this week.

Speaker 3 (03:08:47):
Yeah, you're going to see Paul McCartney.

Speaker 1 (03:08:49):
That's this weekend, isn't it?

Speaker 21 (03:08:51):
Mania.

Speaker 1 (03:08:52):
I was like Grey, We've messed up. Now we're all
going to We're all going to be off on on Monday,
so we were We're all taking the three weekend. So
you'll you'll give me, you'll get some some of the
best hours of the year. We'll be playing those back.

Speaker 3 (03:09:07):
But I hope from Atlanta you can get back, get back.
It's a Beatles songs.

Speaker 1 (03:09:15):
I know, Paul McCartney, I got it.

Speaker 3 (03:09:18):
You didn't even know it. Do you even like the Beatles?

Speaker 8 (03:09:20):
No?

Speaker 3 (03:09:20):
Okay, I don't tell Sherry Well, I.

Speaker 1 (03:09:23):
Will sell you this. I likes I like Paul McCartney
and Wings. Yeah, I like them. I think, I think,
I think maybe I'm amazed as one of the best
songs in songs.

Speaker 6 (03:09:32):
Oh you don't like that Band.

Speaker 17 (03:09:34):
On the Run?

Speaker 1 (03:09:35):
I love Band on the Run. So that's the kind
of stuff that's gonna have to carry me. My fear
is he's going to do too much of the old
Beatles stuff, which, by the way, the other tens of
thousands of people won't, but I don't. Maybe he'll cater
it to you.

Speaker 6 (03:09:49):
Probably not.

Speaker 1 (03:09:50):
He's going to change the concert listen, Rick strictly, you
know what?

Speaker 2 (03:09:55):
You know?

Speaker 7 (03:09:55):
What?

Speaker 1 (03:09:56):
What if you ever said, hey, what a shout out? Hello, Budge,
let's see paulma Cotton han wings for you? Hey, hey,
all right, maybe I'm amazed.

Speaker 3 (03:10:05):
Okay, so the okay, do y'all y'all know about set list?

Speaker 1 (03:10:10):
Yes, okay, you realize I'm a friend with Mark Garnett,
so you know what they play.

Speaker 3 (03:10:15):
Ok I'm a big fan of it. You know, some
people want to go to a concert and not know
and be surprised. I want to go to a concert
and know if I need to stay for the encore
or not, but wake up at four in the morning.

Speaker 1 (03:10:25):
That ruins the game you do when you guess which
song would they open with? Always do that?

Speaker 3 (03:10:30):
Well, that's fine, that was a drinking game you did.
It's not as much fun anymore. Try it again now, yeah,
it's not as good. But if I look, now, this
is a two nights nights in Atlanta.

Speaker 1 (03:10:43):
I think I think that he sold out so so
much they went ahead and added another night. I'm going
on Sunday night.

Speaker 3 (03:10:49):
So would that be this second night? Probably?

Speaker 6 (03:10:51):
No, that's the first night. I think the second was
on the third?

Speaker 1 (03:10:54):
Didn't it?

Speaker 6 (03:10:55):
November third? And it's second and third. I'm going on
the second.

Speaker 1 (03:10:58):
I don't know. But November secon is when IM going.
I think it's the first show in Atlanta. Okay, I could,
I'm the first. All I know is I'm going Sunday night.

Speaker 6 (03:11:05):
That's all I know.

Speaker 3 (03:11:06):
Okay, So it looks like he is in Atlanta Sunday
and Monday. You're right, Okay, so you're saying the first night.
So if we go to yep, Okay, here we go.

Speaker 6 (03:11:18):
What what's what's? What's My wings? Songs have many.

Speaker 1 (03:11:24):
And I'm okay with some of the let him in?
Maybe that's it.

Speaker 6 (03:11:28):
I'm gonna tell me. I'm getting say, there's not a
lot of wings. Tell me I get on the run.

Speaker 3 (03:11:36):
What big barn bed.

Speaker 6 (03:11:37):
I don't even care about Big bar in bed.

Speaker 1 (03:11:41):
Let him in is all I've got someone knocking have
to do. But can I get silly love songs? Can
I get on the run. Can I get Maybe I'm amazed.
Tell me it's on there. Maybe I'm amazed, has to
be not looking good.

Speaker 6 (03:11:55):
It's on there.

Speaker 1 (03:11:56):
Well, I'll take a dude.

Speaker 3 (03:11:58):
At this point, you can do all the help is
on there.

Speaker 17 (03:12:02):
I need somebody. Yep, you know.

Speaker 3 (03:12:04):
Okay, So he's he makes it up, but he's not
playing like, he's not sticking to the same set every night.
So I'm looking through set lessens. He did Jet, I
love yet I loved Jet In Minneapolis, he did nineteen
hundred and eighty five. The Wing Song.

Speaker 6 (03:12:20):
I don't care about that one.

Speaker 3 (03:12:21):
Let me roll with it. The Wing song, No letting go?

Speaker 10 (03:12:24):
The Wing Song?

Speaker 3 (03:12:24):
You care about that?

Speaker 7 (03:12:25):
No?

Speaker 3 (03:12:26):
Okay, band on the run.

Speaker 18 (03:12:27):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (03:12:28):
So Minneapolis that night got a greats. But that's probably
not gonna happen to you though. Thanks man, if you're
just guessing, But it's huge for those of us that
wake up early, but highly recommended.

Speaker 21 (03:12:39):
You can do.

Speaker 7 (03:12:41):
Money.

Speaker 1 (03:12:42):
We're awful money. Because I was going to the concert.
I'm not doing that anymore. Yeah, I'm not coming back
and going straight to work anymore. I'm too old for
that night.

Speaker 3 (03:12:48):
It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (03:12:49):
You You remember we've talked about it. I always wanted
to see Boston live. You remember that, Yes, you know,
they only had like three albums at the time. Right,
Third Stage had just been released with them and and
all that on. It didn't really like it. Well, they
finally come to concert close to us. We go and
they start with cut one on the new record, and
the whole concert is nothing but the new record. That

(03:13:10):
was That was a hour.

Speaker 6 (03:13:11):
I'm just saying, this is Third Stage. We went, what
does he mean by that?

Speaker 1 (03:13:14):
And they played it cut for cut in order. The
entire album of New Song gave us a few encorees
at the end of the classics, but not all of them.
I'm like, you can't even have a Boston concert.

Speaker 6 (03:13:27):
The time of the hour.

Speaker 4 (03:13:28):
