Throne boys are ready to go her Sale Farms. By
the way, I'll be there Friday, freezing but ready in
Jones Burr, Arkansas, America. Here's the question. We're packing a

(01:47):
good time today, Speedy, Greg Adler all here, we'll recap
some crazy weekend stories. It was a very very active weekend.
We we have much to tell U. Yes, those of
you that are college football fans Dickey and admire should
check in today. Uh, and to pontificate on another big

(02:12):
tide win. Uh. So we it was really really funny
because at church yesterday was talking to some of some
of our brothers and and these men went with our
our our our friend and man church team member Blake
Prime this past fall, earlier in the fall that were

(02:34):
still in the fall. But they went to Las Vegas
and and and these men, and they're all pretty large men. Uh.
They go into some of the most dangerous parts of
Las Vegas and they go in there to be the
light of Christ. Great thing. So some of the guys
were saying that, you know, they kind of felt motivated
they needed to do that, you know, maybe in their
own city. And yeah, this is absolutely true. And uh,

(02:59):
keeping my in Vegas, most darkest parts of Vegas. And
I said, well, what did y'all decide do? He said,
tell we took home. I said, what he said, l
Subama game? I said, what? Oh, yeah, we went down
to the strip. He said, we were evangelizing. I said,
you know, it's one thing to try to go at
evangelize in Alabama game, it's another thing to go at

(03:20):
evangelize Alabama and LSU fans together and I said, there
a long day. And I said, how'd that go? He said,
you know what, it wasn't that much different than going
to the darkest places of Las Vegas. How about this though?
They said they did have a gentleman give his life
to Jesus. That's great, right there on the strip, right
there on the strip. Let me hold this.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
But anyway, so what uniform did they wear?

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Well, they I think they went neutrals. That's smart. Yeah,
they just wore Jesus uniform. That's good. Uh So anyway,
we'll we'll look back on all the things from the weekend. Man,
it was it was active. It was crazy. It was
for me personally, I don't think my I think my
weekend just stopped. Like right now, I'm back at work

(04:03):
so I can get some rest. Yeah, man, Sherry and I, Man,
we were on the move. We went. Man, it did
not stop. Yeah, it did not stop. So, uh, you know,
I had to go to a wedding on Saturday. You know,
didn't didn't disturb football at all. Two p m mmm.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
But but it was day yeah, but it was it was.
It was a special wedding. It was good. To be there,
saw your dad and mom Adler and you know, I
never grow weary, never your your parents are amazing people.
I mean, here they are, and you know they're older
than me, I'll just say that. And they've been singing

(04:45):
for a really long time, okay. And they stood up
there and saying the prayer as beautiful as I've ever
heard it from anyone. That's fantastic. And I thought to myself,
look at them, they're singing as strong and as good
right now as they ever have. That's not an easy song,
by the way, that that's a that's a hard song.
And they nailed it. And uh, an act of Congress

(05:08):
was there, got to see them. Fantastic, They said, hello,
they had quite a weekend too. Yes they had a
performance Friday night, Yes they did, you are correct. So
uh so anyway, UH got to got to be there
to see another man church team member Brian Gunn and
his beautiful daughter Sarah, the beautiful bride getting married on Saturday.

(05:30):
So that that was got to see a lot of
folks hadn't seen a while. Greg and I got to
see a bunch of folks we hadn't seen a while
last night, I mean Greg and I let me tell
you something. I decided to go back home. The only
thing was worried, I said, going to going to preach
back home. Jesus didn't even farewell when you did that,
you know. And it's a different when you're looking in
the face of those people. It's been just known you
your whole life. It's a different deal. A lot of

(05:52):
fun though, of course a lot of us changed. We
looked different. Yes, a lot of old clues. Hey, a
lot of old people there. Yeah. I was one up
and I was like, no way, you can do who
I think you are. You know, like like like the
pastor of the church. I remember when he was like
a little punk kid. Yeah, don't you don't you remember that?
And I like, he's and he's the pastor of the church,

(06:14):
and he's got like gray hair and everything. He looks
authoritative and he's up there preaching. I'm like, that's a
little punk kid from home to my home to just.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Be a kid.

Speaker 6 (06:22):
But he was a little punkish.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
There went well, and now this is the update. No, no,
well once again. You know when you go back home
and your your your friends are in charge of something
like a church service, you know, sometimes there was a
moment we'll show it in a minute when I said, non,
do we feel good about this? And and I've sent
out of the picture and we'll see it in a minute.

(06:46):
We'll talk about that on the update. I've got some
other pictures coming your way. Because also Friday night probably
the most unique opportunity to speak that I've that I've had,
and that was extremely unique, very very unique. Yeah, yeah,
so I'll talk about that. So we we've got some
stuff from from the weekend. As you can imagine, that's

(07:07):
that's a doozy and and like I say, it was
last night was a little different being back in Calhoun County,
and there was so many moments where I thought, I
just don't know that this is this is good. And
one of them is when I look and walking across
the parking lot, I see Greg and I'm like, hey,
this is my baby brother. And then all of a sudden,
I just hear this noise and I look. Walking beside

(07:29):
him is the very large Gerald Kates with a new mustache.
Rick show us what to till he is and and
I and I look and he's walking and for some
reason Kates is now sporting some mustache. I don't even
know how to describe it. I looked at that mustache
and like something you'd have on your sink to scrub
the sink. I don't, I don't even know what you

(07:53):
knowsh it's kind of a salt and pepper, big thick stash.
But yeah, oh it's real thing. But it's it's almost
like too thick. You'll be like, it's like said, it's
covering too much ground.

Speaker 7 (08:05):
And uh, it's bergenship where you let chile and get
in and make a joke of a noise, you know it.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
And I'm like, well, here he is. Yeah, and then
this is the one that really got me.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
What does he think? He's in the oak Ridge Boys tour.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Right, yeah. So I look and all of a sudden,
I hear these terrible words. He's down me and Gregor
goes in the buccony and I'm like, and I looked,
and I said, I don't. I don't want y'all sitting
together at all, and not in the balcony. And greg
the balcony. It was good. He didn't, I'm real good.

(08:39):
And I'm like, I wouldn't look up there. I wanted
to look him there because I knew i'd see some
face or something. You see that. So so it was,
it was interesting, so fun. It was a lot of
stories coming up from the weekend. It's a lot of
updates from the weekend. And today I'll take something specialists

(08:59):
going on today as we approach you know when this
year in folks, it's Simmi Quinn Centennial. We come back
ninety six. We're gonna celebrate two hundred fifty years of America.
We'll be right back.

Speaker 8 (09:14):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
All right, we're back. Thanks for being with us today
as we start a brand new week together. We are
so grateful that you are here with us today. So so, anyway,
the Simmi Quinn Centennial celebration that is coming up next
year for our entire country, we'll talk more about that

(09:49):
when we get into it. Sure there's gonna be some
there'll be all kinds of Semi Quinn Centennial stuff. With
us being the ambassadors for the great state of Alabama,
we will do that with all of our other states.
But today, believe it or not, today, if you are
in the Marine Corps, and we thank you for your

(10:10):
service past and present, the United States Marine Corps turns
two hundred and fifty today today, today, wow, two hundred
and fifty years old. So there will actually be at
the American Village in Sweet Home, Alabama, for those of
you who live in Alabama, an official cake cutting ceremony.

(10:33):
You can also host your own your community if you
want to, if you'd like to find out more about that,
just stand, just get with the American Village. So thank
you to the Marine Corps. Two hundred and fifty years
a legacy of honor, courage, and commitment that started in
seventeen seventy five.

Speaker 9 (10:51):
Today, Wow, did y'all know that? I heard, I heard
it coming in. I didn't hear the details you just gave.
But that's special. And then Veterans Day tomorrow, Yeah, that's correct,
Veterans Day tomorrow. So we'll be sure and say thanks
to all of you. We did the thing yesterday at
church you know where you know, have everybody stand up
and who's ever served, and.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
That's always special. And then of course we have the
guy in our church that's about to turn one hundred,
the colonel, and he stands up and he can still
stand up at ninety nine and about to turn one hundred.
The colonel stands up. He gets standing up. Yeah, so
so yeah, it's so we have a lot to celebrate
today and tomorrow, as as you mentioned concerning our military,
so we will do so.

Speaker 9 (11:33):
I don't know if it was on the BBC. I
believe it was a London television station they had that.
They had someone I think he might have been one hundred.
He was a veteran that that was being interviewed and
he broke down and got upset about what the world
and the country.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Oh I saw that, Yeah, it worth it.

Speaker 9 (11:54):
And like all of his best friends, he saw them
get killed in front of him, and he's like, you
know what did what did they die for?

Speaker 4 (12:01):
It's worse now, all this stuff and you're like, oh no.

Speaker 9 (12:05):
And the lady I thought did pretty good. She tried
to say, hey, no, what you did did matter, you know,
and they needed It's our job for it's our job
to make sure that everybody understands what your friends did
sacrifice and what you've sacrificed throughout your life, you know,
your service.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Yeah, it's horrible.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
Now you've just ruined the moment yesterday at church, because
it is I think to myself, the colonel lived long
enough now to see some of the stupid things we're doing.

Speaker 9 (12:31):
Yeah, and Greg, yes he is old, and yes he's
a little bent over and yes, you know he's he's
got an English accent. So let's get that out of
the way, because you're gonna, I know how, we'll break
down somebody's appearance.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
He's not gonna eat, is he? No?

Speaker 9 (12:43):
But but he's they're just they're just talking about speedy.

Speaker 6 (12:46):
I actually couldn't even watch this. I just read about it.
And this is is the longest clip. Do we want
to come back?

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I I mean, we don't have to.

Speaker 9 (12:54):
You could just play just a few seconds of it
where she says I'm sorry, I'm so sorry you felt
that way?

Speaker 1 (13:01):
Mean for you? What is your message?

Speaker 10 (13:04):
My message is I can see in my mind's eye
of rose and rose of white stones, of all the
hundreds of my friends and everybody else that gave their
lives for what the country of today. No, I'm sorry,
but the sacrifice wasn't worth the result that it is now.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Well, I'm sorry. What do you mean by what we
thought for?

Speaker 10 (13:36):
I brought we thought for was their freedom with father?
Even now is the downside worst? And what it was
when I fought for it?

Speaker 11 (13:47):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Freedom in the UK, by the way, what it used
to be.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
That's what you sound like speaking when you try to
do an English accent.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
That's not the takeaway from this clip.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
That's true a good point.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
It does sound just.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Like once he started doing it.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Yeah, just like you tried again again. That sad that
that's the takeaway. Guys. The freedom in the u K
is not what if you think we've we've given them
freedom away. Of course we have. Right his latest election
of New York, right, like we mentioned, I mean, we
couldn't even remember nine to eleven long enough not to
elect a mayor.

Speaker 9 (14:26):
We went to his parents' house the other day and
they got in some commentary about about what New York's doing.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
But the but the English have they're further gone than
we are. Yeah, wow, they're leading the way. He would
always end up being doing what they're doing now we
do it later.

Speaker 6 (14:41):
Right, Yeah, they're a little bit in the future there,
of course, because of Greg. When we had everybody stand
up in church to honor the veterans because of Greg,
I'm looking around looking for stolen valor.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
I look that we think nowadays there's idiots that will
do it. I had one I had one guy I
wasn't sure about.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
I had one guy. I was like, there cuts a
little messy, buddy.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Well, and I can't say anything because there was a
little bit of a notion for me to stand but
I knew better.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
That's good. How did people know you?

Speaker 1 (15:13):
I used to do that about any when they were asked.
When I caught myself because it's instinctive. This is too serious.
You don't do these no. Yeah, And when I stood
with the honor roll at graduation, that's kind of funny.
But but a's and a's only. Yeah. Right now, we'd
like to recognize those that have carried have carried an
average of ninety eight or above. You stood up and

(15:35):
I stood up with him proudly. My mom was furious.
This is I get caught them videos watching people getting
busted for stolen valley, and it's pretty awesome. It's pretty
awesome when they bust them. They don't make you uncomfortable.
Not so many times. I love seeing them being exposed.
And they're always they're always slightly overweight, and their uniform

(15:57):
that they bought somewhere it's a little tight.

Speaker 12 (15:59):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
Ask him about a patch, like why is your patch
on this shoulder and they're like, yes, that's how my
commander told me to do it.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Yeah, I've yet to watch one of those clips all
the way through.

Speaker 12 (16:10):
You can't.

Speaker 9 (16:11):
The worst was like at the food court at the mall. Yeah,
some guys getting busted for somebody.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
That was starting questioning you got this and don't have
an answer? Huh yeah, horrible. The worst one fitted this
one before they busted him. He was been down like
this little kid and the kid was like he was
he was just big, okay soldier and then the guy
comes up bust him. Are you being straight up? Don't
say that talking gets busted? Yeah? Greg, can I quote

(16:40):
Paul McCart you don't say it, You didn't say anything.
But but anyway, somehow we went down this road when
I'm simply trying to say happy birthday to the Marine Corps. Yeah,
I just Tomorrow's Veterans Day. Yeah it is sure is wow.
But but anyways, so we will we will not try

(17:03):
to be negative and think about the bad things. I
think we just need to take these two days and
say things. Yeah. Yeah, it goes back to anything. That's
what I like to tell God, You've had a chance,
but it goes back to anything I've heard people before
that like, like what happened to us one time, Greg,
Remember we did something. You give to an organization, you
find out they weren't doing with the money what they
said they were going to do. And what you have

(17:24):
to do though, just like to the veterans, what y'all
have done and continue to do. You're doing it. You
should be honored for the fact that you're doing it.
The result is not on y'all. Okay, your leader, and
you know, if you give to an organization and your
heart was in the right place, if the organization screws
it up, that's on them. They'll be held accountable for that.
That does not diminish your commitment and your sacrifice in

(17:47):
any way shape of the tryme. Your service mattered, Yeah,
no matter what, Yes, sir, Yeah, even if it just
it mattered in that moment, it's still matter. And if
you think that it's bad, if you are not doing
and habit or didn't do what you did in the past,
it would be worse. Oh boy, what it Yeah, the

(18:08):
bottom of the hour, we'll be back. You got the
Rick Burgess Show relevant for another week? How about you?

Speaker 8 (18:15):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (18:20):

research for you. All you have to do is access it.

got we got to go. Well, uh, they're the people
to do it. Uh, maybe your company has moved you
and well I've seen these families. Have you ever seen
this with those families? Like either the husband or the wife,
mom or dad has to go on to where the
new job is. And then and then the other is
left behind to sell the house and you know, get

(20:44):
the kids to where they're going and you know all that,
so you know, and then the other one who's got
to go ahead, they're there on the ground trying to
find the new house they're going to. So maybe you
got stuck with mama's old house. You love going to
that farm and you loved it, but I mean you,
I mean it's it's in another state. Yeah, I mean
you can't. You got to get this done. If it
needs repairs, they'll do that. Stuff needs to be moved

so college football, we will hear from Dickey. Uh, there's

(22:12):
Bama and at number four.

Speaker 9 (22:14):
Yeah, this is the ap pole. So it's not the
college footballpole, but it's kind of almost like a shot
of what is probably going to look like.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
Ohio State beats Purdue, no, no, no issue there staying
at number one. The Indiana Penn State game really good. Yeah,
and probably you know between the kid from Auburn and
and in the cat in the catch by the receiver
for Indiana, we saw two of the more incredible catches
some some of these receivers in their athletic ability is

(22:46):
just unbelievable. Yeah. And uh and how the Indiana kid
got his foot down the Indiana catch is bigger than
even though this kid, this kid at Auburn is is
you know, they'll never keep him. He's gonna go somewhere
out all this her Yeah. Yeah, the Coleman kid, good night. Uh,
I got a chance to as this first time I've
seen really Auburn play and like since maybe the beginning

(23:08):
of the year, and I'd heard about him how good
he was.

Speaker 8 (23:11):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Yeah, uh and uh So anyway, and we'll get we'll
talk all thele both about that game. But Indiana beating
Penn State. I love I never I'm always going, is
it Signetti? Is that how you say the coach Indiana? Yeah?
When when he told the side of reporter and when
she said what does it feel like to know that
this team has never won, you know, at Beaver Stadium
and he goes, well, this team's never played here before. Yeah,

(23:35):
because she was talking about Indiana. Yeah, but he said,
these particular players, this this is their first shot, and
they wont and they did win. Answers questions like, so
Gus Johnson's on that call, Oh my goodness, and I
know you did you hear it? I didn't hear.

Speaker 9 (23:53):
I know you say he gets excited a standard second
and eight? Yes, okay, Uh this one here, I thought
he was going to lose his voice.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
I bet they had.

Speaker 12 (24:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (24:05):
Yeah, and this is when they make up a drive
that might win. The Indiana quarterback of the Heisman, who
knows well he's a player, but they make the drive
to win it. And uh this touchdown call, he was
screaming give him.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
The because remember, yeah, Gush Johnson is Greg pointed out,
he seems like a super guy. But you were the first.
You were the first person to ever point out to me,
and I wouldn't wear it. Of course. Then I started hearing
it that he treats any play like it's the greatest fight.
I mean, it's the first series of the game.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
It's a six yards right, it was just a simple
just to run off tackle Gus so.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
So he had on this So I don't want to
hear it. Oh yeah, I got it here. I want
to watch Greg.

Speaker 9 (24:54):
But now look this, this is when he does need
to be excited. But I mean there's time that he
loses his voice. He's so happy, Oh.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
You get a big play and keep his driving the game.
He asks, like you just won the whole thing. Like
you said, Gus thinks every place big, so when a
real big play happens, it's always like you can't stand it.

Speaker 13 (25:11):
Now.

Speaker 9 (25:11):
I love the excitement, don't get me wrong. I mean
he really loves what he does. That's all hearing gains him.

Speaker 12 (25:16):
Calling.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
It's not a mathe Moent's type thing. I'm just saying
he gets a little excited when it's not time to
be excited. But this time it was so he got
his dream. This will we've been waiting on. Yeah, here
we go.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Then Doza get the eyes and choke it out.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
It didn't sound like him. He changed voices. He was
so cold his voice. He tried to find it. He
couldn't find it. Tarzan want that yell by good. He's
normally extremely clear when he when he's getting excited, he

(26:07):
lost his mind. Yeah. Did y'all see the footage of
the Penn State coach eating the refs out because he
thought it was it wasn't a touchdown. No, he was
not happy about it. No, I didn't see that, but buddy,
they reviewed it.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Yeah, he got that.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
He got his foot down. I don't know how. I
really don't don't. I wish you could jump high. Yeah. Wow,
but you know he got them both.

Speaker 9 (26:24):
I gotta I gotta tell you that the call in
the field was a touchdown, and so that back judge,
he saw what happened. And I know we give referees
a hard time, but you know the fact that they
in real time get it right a lot was impressive
because sometimes I'm seeing these catches just on TV and
I'm like, well, there's no way, and then all a
sudden you go back and look at it in the

(26:45):
slow motion like, well, why my goodness.

Speaker 8 (26:47):
It was a catch.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Well, you're right, but if you look at this guy
and I give him, you know, we don't compliment officials
a lot.

Speaker 12 (26:54):
He was.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
He got himself in perfect position. He did. He moved
himself not to get in way of the play, but
got in position where he could. He was looking right
where those feet he sure was. That was that was
good officiating. I was, y'all gonna laugh. I was running
errands and on this on the radio skimm and trying
to pick up some ball games and it stopped on
that right before that play happens, and it was Indiana's

(27:15):
team calling. That's the when they went they thought he
was out of bounds, and the guy was like a
you know, they're gonna look at it. You know. If
they got excited, then they backed off and he goes
and then they showed it to him and they went,
wait a minute, and then they got fired up because
at first they thought he was out, so they didn't
get as excited as a Now Gus level that nobody else.

(27:36):
But there's something about Gus Johnson like god rest is.
So if that had been the dogs and one of
their like the Lyne's Scott had caught that catch. Yeah,
and we got here, Larry Munson. It would sound sharp.
Gus sounds like he's lost. I've never heard us in
this voice. I'm not sure what that's what I'm saying.
He can y'all lost his mind. He did get both in.

(28:00):
Second foot is definitely in and the first one is
in or would have been incomplete pass. That's right. Because
he'd been on the line.

Speaker 4 (28:06):
He almost you know, he almost hit his head on
the goalpost. That's how high he jumped to catch that one.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
You know, I was talking to Terry because I looked over.

Speaker 9 (28:13):
I looked over at the uh at the referee, who was,
like Rick said, getting himself in position and his weight.
The receiver's waistline is as high as the referee is standing.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Right right right, and we'll look at him getting look
at that official that now, that's that is a great job,
good job. Yeah, he look he's standing right, old man.
That's good. That's why it ought to be with him.

Speaker 9 (28:39):
Yeah, now I'm looking at other So that's so Penn
State again. All these getting ready to rush the field.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
People, they're all getting ready to rush the field. So
this is security here to stop them. And I'm sitting
here looking at different people now the security line because
they're watching the jumbo tron. Yea, they have to they
have to have their their back to.

Speaker 9 (29:02):
The field and they're watching to make sure nobody's uh.
And then the hands of the hands on the head.
They can't believe it. Oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
The Loan Indiana fan, he's like, oh how about that
right here? Hey, those are probably the worst seats in
the Hope play. I'm gonna for that play.

Speaker 9 (29:20):
I'm gonna tell all fans if you see everybody trying
to get down to the bottom to rush the.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Field and y'all haven't won yet, and just hang on,
don't do that. Just never stopped. It never works unless
you've got a three touchdown. We're gonna have to walk
back on. Greg, You're the only person here that played
defensive back. Speedy was a receiver, of course, Adler was
the mosquito, and I played, you know, probably just a
devastating three technique. Uh did the is that should the dB?

(29:46):
It just just took his shoulder into his into his
hips and drove him out of bounds. And never Yeah,
that makes more sense of trying and get the ball
to it. Yeah, forty one seconds. I know this song
happening in real time, and it sounds like they don't. Craig,
if I'm wrong, used to they. I don't know. He
didn't really, he didn't really have an opportunity. That's which way?
Which way is he is? He's looking back, Yeah, he's
looking back and he that's kind of pushing.

Speaker 12 (30:09):
Yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
Don't know if there's a Yeah, he was in pretty good.
His head turned around and everything. Guys, the quarterback have
people in his face. That's why getting these that's why
gave him problem. Yeah, that shim pretty good. Yeah. By

(30:32):
the way, also Texas, A and M you got Hey,
y'all are really good? And sure y'all are really good.

Speaker 12 (30:38):
Bama.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Uh, there's the top four.

Speaker 8 (30:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 12 (30:58):
Go ahead.

Speaker 8 (30:59):
Admitted this show is starting to grow on you, isn't
it The Rick British Show.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Thank you America, thanks for being with us today. As
though we motor through another one, we'll look back on
the weekend stories get a little more specific. We'll have
unscreened phone calls today. I don't think I see any
hay bird just today, but we'll look maybe maybe we'll
get into that stories of the day. We certainly have

(31:29):
that even around the world, not just in our own lives.
From over the weekend, we do have a lot to update.
I will say that Sary and I on the road
this past weekend, our new arrangement seems to be working okay.
And that is that if Sherry and I are traveling

(31:49):
together in the same vehicle, she is now driving, that
says a lot more calm. Well, I just said, you're
gonna drive anyway, so I'll physically Why don't we just
physically let you go to She felt like she's in control,
and that's a good thing because when you look when
you're sitting in that right hand say you have no control.
I'll give you that. My favorite moment of the entire
travels of this weekend because we were together on everything

(32:11):
that we did this weekend. Uh, my favorite, my favorite
moment was was I said one little thing from the
passenger seat and Sherry said, look, don't don't sit over
and tell me how to drive. And look and I
looked at her and I said, did you what did
you just say?

Speaker 12 (32:27):
Hang on?

Speaker 1 (32:27):
I said, did you hear yourself? And uh? And so
but it's uh, it's worked out. It's worked out fine.
And she did try to study me a little bit
because she was right. So yesterday after church we went
out to eat lunch and we got through lunch quicker
than we thought and headed back home to Calhoun County
for my home, back to Calm County and Sherry now

(32:49):
lived there in the first three years of our marriage.
But she I'm going to my hometown, my home county,
not far from a hometown, headed to the valley in
the area, Valley Cubs. But anyway, as we were, we
had plenty of time. We were going to go see

(33:12):
who you know, our our friends from when Sherry and
I first got married. We lived in Oxford, Alabama, and
Calhoun County and the first church where we were ever disciple,
Jerry Starling, the pastor, saw his son last night and
and we met Keith. We met Keith and Millie Mitchell.

Speaker 8 (33:30):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (33:30):
And they were like our first church friends, and we
you know, played board games together and hung out together
and had a blast. And then we they moved the
show to Birmingham in ninety eight, so we really haven't
seen them since then. Uh. And so Keith was, you know,
the one who was putting together the man Church event
for us to come back. So we were going to
go over their house and visit with them a minute

(33:51):
before we went over to the event last night. So
I'm in the passenger's seat and we have plenty of time. Plenty,
I mean, we're nowhere pushing. We're nowhere near pushing. Okay,
we decided just to go on and I started doing
this again. I'm like, oh, I said, see, you shouldn't
be behind. So you're doing exactly what And she goes,

(34:11):
she goes, why do you think we're not even in
a hurry? And I said, you know what, I said,
trying to make good times. I said, if I was
in your seat, and it would be awkward because the
Mitchells wouldn't want us as early as I can get
us there, I said. I realized that I can't not
make good time. I can't do it. Yeah, right, And
like I said, I could be driving to my execution.

(34:33):
I don't know why they'd let me drive, but let's
just say they let me drive to my execution. I
would I would try to make good time. I don't
know why I can't not do that.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
You'd be honking at people.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Yeah, I can't not try to make good.

Speaker 9 (34:46):
You know, look, I've been pulling a trailer with an
ATV on the back, and I'm still trying to keep
up with everybody.

Speaker 1 (34:51):
I'm like, what am I doing? Just getting the right lane?
Trail should going as fast anywhere?

Speaker 4 (34:55):
Right, But do y'all agree you're speeding without a trailer?

Speaker 1 (34:58):
To me, if the if the egg said, if the
exit is over a mile away, okay, get on past
the eighteen wheeler, core and getting figured out, I go
by that science says one mile right, Yeah, so she'll
pull on behind the eighteen wheeler with a mile to
the exit. And I'm like, baby, but what now?

Speaker 4 (35:17):
I said, then this guy's I mean it's a mile
and you know, we get behind a mile.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
We get behind one of those that y'all have warned
us about truckers, those of you that are veterans, those
of you that are really good, you've told us. We
got some folks they're thrown out there. It aren't trained
well enough yet. Uh this this hill has never had
an expert truck driver not go through the gears and
get stuck on the hill and start creeping. And this idiot,
I mean, no one has ever had a problem with

(35:41):
this hill. I've never seen a trucker have a problem
with this hill. And and he got I don't know
if I don't know enough about it, but he didn't
approach the hill right and ended up becoming the turtle
on the little It wasn't that big a heel. This
is not one that ever causes a problem and wound
up and she jumped in behind him, and I'm like, babe,
you could have passed him easy mmmm And but there

(36:01):
was no reason to. We became each other.

Speaker 4 (36:04):
That's that's less than a minute. If you're on it's
less than a minute.

Speaker 14 (36:09):
Rick.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Do you know how ahead of schedule we were too?
We were ahead of schedule by forty five total minutes.
And I'm still trying to make your sounds. I mean,
I'm going to show up and Keith's wife, Millie's gonna
be awkwardly going, I'm not ready for y'all. Yeah, that
person shows up, You drive and you're like, there's no way,
yeah here, what do you You told us you were
coming at three thirty. You're here too. You were gonna
have to go and get there and kill time before

(36:30):
you win, right, you don't have to do it. I
can't not do it. I'm even though you came in
in their neighborhood going let's go. Well you came down
seventy seven, that's the way you went. No, it didn't
tell me that way.

Speaker 12 (36:39):
You know what.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
You know what it took me to O two toll
me Co Water exit. I know where you were heading.
Eh m hmm, well you he'll talk down to you driving.
You wanted me to go, said, it's about the same.
I use both the man and the man. Man the
map said two O two to where I was going,
and Alexander was quicker. You don't agree. You mapped the
maps about saying you didn't want me on buying them

(37:01):
leather wood. They're about the same, depends on I tell
you that. I tell you what broke my heart? Is it?
Calhoun County's got a roundabout. That's what I finished. I
was just figuring to say, if you went buying them
leather wood, you went through the roundabout, didn't like it.
What were we do with a roundabout? Leather does need
a roundabout. I'm gonna try now a bunch of by
the English people.

Speaker 9 (37:20):
You just said you like to make good time roundabouts
make good time you'd rather sit at a red lick,
this one, this one for minutes instead of just moving around.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Top I mean, I mean before we stop, didn't hold
you up roundabout that neither. Do you know why you
ever seen Calviun County people try to forguret a roundabout?
It was it was tough. They've got it. Give a
bunch of Calhoun County people four yields and watch them
try to do it. Nobody can where everybody stopped and
they're going by the way, Nobody can merge. Nobody can

(37:53):
merge anymore. Nobody can merge. We gotta work on merging. Yeah,
why why can no one go with the flow of traffic?

Speaker 4 (38:02):
Get up to speed now right, Yeah, the little it's not.

Speaker 9 (38:05):
Sign a little get up to speed lane and then
and then merge over. Let's not stop at the intersection
with that. Nobody knows that lane just as empty.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
Yeah, if you got a lane in front of you,
I mean, let's go and then come on the sholf
And by the way, if you're the right lane person
and you've got room, safely give them some room.

Speaker 15 (38:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
If you don't, there's nothing you can do. What you're
trying to run them into the edch that's not that's
not necessary. Had a young driving and to come over
on me. I never had a bad one. That was
that was my first and of course I got blamed
for that. And I'm like, how can I be blamed
for a bad driver? Well, you should have been thinking
that that person might come over on you. I'm supposed

(38:45):
to guess when somebody's coming over. Impossible. And that was
my one shot at driving this weekend, and that she said,
well from I was just ready to drive the rest
of the weekend. I said, Okay, that's fine, because we're
going to have to make good time. Let's do that
so I can sit and wait.

Speaker 4 (39:03):
So she's just driving you around.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Yeah, what do you do?

Speaker 4 (39:07):
Watch?

Speaker 1 (39:08):
What do you what do you how to drive? Say,
that's how we could be making better time.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
Okay, then you're defeating the entire.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
Where we'd be better off. We just meet where we're going.
I missed my truck.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Top of the hour.

Speaker 8 (39:24):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (40:47):
Thank you America, how about it?

Speaker 12 (40:50):
About right?

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Thanks for being with us, Speedy, Greg and Adler, the
gangs all here another week, bore. We're getting close, aren't we.
Here we go it won't be long for every Thanksgiving
and we're off and running into the holiday season. We
got big plans for all of you. You want to
stick around, all right? So looking back over the weekend,

(41:20):
you know there's been so many opportunities of cool things
that we've gotten to do. And you know, have you
have you ever had somebody talking to you about something
and you just can't quite visualize it until you're there,
you know what, you can't you can't get it. And
so I was I was talking to my beautiful bride

(41:44):
and her her brother. She has three brothers and one
of them is a pastor uh in the blunts Full
area and Summit is the actual community. And so I
get home one day and she said, you know, Jamie,
which is her brother, Bodine James Bowdine at Summit Church

(42:09):
in the blunts Full area, says, you know, he's he's been.
He just feels like God is calling him to start
to do a revival weekend. I thought, okay, this sounds great.
And and and he has he's built are he's seeing this.
There's this place by the church and he wants to
build a brush harbor like the Israelites used to do

(42:31):
as part of one of their festivals, and you know,
the Festival of Tents and all that, and they would
go and build these brush arbors and they remember what
it was like to be out in the wilderness. You know,
and how God delivered them from that and uh and
and and I said, okay, that sounds cool. And he
was wondering if you would come and kick it off. Yeah, sure,

(42:52):
I'd be happy to if you know, we don't have
any conflicts, and he wants you to preach from it.
And I'm like, I'm sorry in November uh and uh
and she was like yeah, I said, what what is it?
Am I It's it's like a shed kind of thing.
And she was like right, and it's up on some
rocks and and I just couldn't see it, you know
what I mean in my mind, I was like what Yeah.

(43:13):
And of course you know it's family. So I'm like, sure,
I'm in you know, my footing is not great. I said,
you know, I played a little ball, got that injury
from any twos and uh. And so first of all,
I watch and you know, we'd had pretty dry forecast
where we are the week had no rain except on Friday. Yeah,

(43:35):
And I felt bad for him, and I was like, man,
and you know what, he never wavered. He said no,
he said, We've been praying and he says it's not
gonna rain. And I said that, Yeah, I'm not sure.
James Span agrees with you. Have you have you seen
the forecast. I mean they're even saying that could be
like some rough thunderstorms or whatever. Now now we're it's
still on. I said, So you're not moving it inside?

(43:57):
He goes. Now, he said, because I honestly think it.
We're gonna be fine. We've been praying about it, and
it's gonna be dry for the for the service. Okay,
of course, you know me, man of great faith, I'm
like thing worn and so so let me tell you
something that blew me away. So it's it's it's twenty

(44:19):
four hours now before the event last Thursday, and I'll
start pulling up the forecast, and I just watched that
rain move out of that area until deep into overnight,
when the original forecast had been it was gonna rain
right at that time. And we show up and look
at this beautiful picture for those of you that have

(44:39):
the Youtubo option, and look it is clear. The temperature,
it's not overly cold. They got a fire going over here.
It's very comfortable. And I was able to preach. And
those of you that don't have the option, I put
it on my Instagram. I think Friday night after it
was over, even.

Speaker 12 (44:55):
Go look at it.

Speaker 1 (44:56):
It's really cool and that that beautiful vision and getting
up under that that brush arbor and preaching was a
really cool experience. And there was a great turnout. A
lot of people came. This kind of kicked off the
weekend that had some other speakers coming in and then
they even had the youth back out there last night,

(45:17):
and so it was it was special. It was it
was a really really moving deal. Got to got to
you know, and then they had a guitar player. And
I think the moment that I knew that, you know,
it couldn't get much better, is right when the guy
who was doing worship was about to stop and he said,
you know, it's say it, you know, unless y'all want

(45:37):
me to do another one. Of course, I hear from
from the crowd, I fly away, and he goes, I
fly away. He reaches over, pulls out a banjo from
the nineteen twenties, whoa and begins to pick and does
I fly Away on banjo? And I thought, man, this
is this is really cool. So I've gotten to do

(45:58):
a lot of things, I mean, and and by the
grace of God, even some pretty big arena type things.
I don't know that I've ever done anything that was
especial as being in a little small town standing under
a brush arbor outside with the fire, talking about Jesus.

(46:21):
It was, it was cool, it was it was a
great experience, and you.

Speaker 9 (46:23):
Know, I know, the message was great and and there
was a good crowd. I'm just thinking about all the
handymen that had to build them.

Speaker 1 (46:30):
Well, well, there was an awkward moment, you know, because
you know all the bow Dnes can build. You know,
they come from there. They come from a long line
of Stonemasons. They can't build anything, you know, they build
their own houses, that kind of kind. And so I'm
a bit of a eyesore for them when I married
their sister. But anyway, and brought zero to the table.

(46:53):
But that was then, and that's this is now. And
I wish you had seen my brother in law when
I said, hey, man, did you not want to come
help build a brush arbor? He just looked at me like, okays,
cuse I want you to look. That's pretty that's pretty impressive.
All right, So look right here this what's holding them up?

(47:15):
Stump It looks like stumps. Oh yeah, they cut stumps. Yeah,
these are cedar trees. Oh wow, this is very nice.

Speaker 4 (47:25):
And you you you could have helped You didn't help it,
you could have.

Speaker 1 (47:30):
And I'm assuming so that I caught it a pergola
and that did not. It does kind of have the
look I said, this is kind of like a pargola.

Speaker 4 (47:37):
You do keep saying brush harbor.

Speaker 1 (47:39):
Also harbor the second time you said harbor in the harbor?
Are you out in the harbor.

Speaker 4 (47:47):
The ocean?

Speaker 1 (47:48):
No? No, I brushed harbors where we had lunch over
over at the city harbor there in Gunners right right.
And can I tell you what my father in law
is tired of is every time we eat there, I
keep saying harbor like I'm in Austin city habit And
he looked at me like, you know the first time
you did that, like last year, it's wearing on me.

(48:10):
We don't have to say hibit every time we say it.
And so anyway, that that was a very cool, cool event.
So thanks to everybody that came out to that and
let me be part of that. And I thought a
brush arbor was really really cool and kind of wish
I'd been asked to help with it. But that's fine,

(48:32):
a glow of a fire going really nice. It looked
like it was up on the hill and kind of yeah,
and I will tell you where it was a little
bit of a strokes all kind of side. Is when
I got up there and realized that the little you know,
they had a light on there for you put the
Bible on. One of those songs. Was it called stands

(48:52):
music stands? It was sitting on a rock, So there's
rocks up there. I had to stand on a rock.
Of course. I opened up my you know, we always
stand on the rock that is Jesus. But tonight I'm
on a literal rock. And it wasn't flat. It was
a little.

Speaker 4 (49:09):
Feet herding.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
And you know I usually move around at oh yeah,
you like to pay the holy ghost takes hold of me,
I'll walk. I didn't walk around on that because I
don't think any ground. I don't think anybody wanted to
see the guy with the message fall no knock everything over?
What if I what if I failed? Knocked the brush
arbor down round top and rolled down to where the
fire is. You can't see. You can't worry about that.

(49:37):
You can't worry about that. So that was special everyway
and that gotta started. I got the weekend started, because
that was just the beginning of it hit. We'll hit
some more of that later on. Because wherever y'all were,
y'all didn't think that's where what I was doing. I said,
Birmingham International Airports. And if my son would like right,

(49:59):
would just shut out right trying to go bathroom A
little dark out there. I wish I've seen that, ditch.

Speaker 8 (50:05):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the hardest working men
in the business, The Rick Burgess Shows.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
All right, America, thank you for being with us. Uh, well,
we're living. I know, nothing to be a Debbie downer about.
But you know, now more than ever, let's just be honest.
We want we want our property to be secure, you know,
especially when now there seems to be this notion that

(50:49):
if somebody wants something of yours that they don't have,
it's not fair, so they'll just come take it, you know,
stealing now has just become you know, you know I'll
just walk in. Still, I ain't no no what we
won't do about it. I'll tell you one thing, we'll
do something about it. Try that in a small town. Well,
why don't we avoid all that and just get simply
safe dot com slash big Vox. Simply safe dot com

(51:12):
slash big vox. Save sixty percent. Oh hello Black Friday
sale a little bit early. Save sixty percent at simplysafe
dot com slash big vox. You're going to save sixty
percent on the best security system in the industry because
they go to a place that no one else can

(51:34):
can go. They can't go to being proactive. Simply Safe
develop this first, and they've got it down. AI cameras
that will spot intruders on the property before they break in,
not just contacting law enforcement after they've already broken in.
So the AI powered cameras okay, they can see it.

(51:59):
They then alert a human who then begins to interact
with the intruder at your property to identify them and
get law enforcement on the way. So yeah, being reactive
is better than nothing, as we keep saying. But being proactive, guys,
that's as good as it gets. So right now, sixty
percent off, it's simplysafe dot com slash big vox. So well,

(52:25):
people are sending us on text nation people deer hunting.

Speaker 9 (52:30):
Hey in this wind, I know, good luck. I don't
know where you're hunting. If it's windy, but it is
where we're sitting with Wendy. So when you do, uh,
when I'm deer hunting, do you pretty much go out?
No matter what I used to And I guess it's
just a lot of experience. But now look to what

(52:53):
your dad said, you can't. You can't, you know, kill
them sitting in here in the wherever and go hunting
when you can unless you sit on a green field.
But right, uh, you know said, I know you have
to go, but I think I used to. I used
to love it a lot more. And you know, if
it's blowing fifteen to twenty all, let's go. If it's
raining hard, let's get it out there. So when it stops,

(53:14):
we're sitting there.

Speaker 1 (53:15):
Oh stuff. And I've I've seen myself talk myself out
of it a lot more. Can I last years? Yeah?
Can I get y'all to commit to something for this
year too? And we've all experienced it. I won't do it.
If y'all want, okay, okay, fifteen mile on our winds
okay and uh and something, well, we'll say, man, you

(53:36):
know that's not a good win. It's it's high wind
y'all even want to go out. I will not be
this person with rain, wind, whatever, I won't be this person.
And y'all have to commit not to be this person eating.
Ok Ah, right, let me sell you something. Buddy of mine,
biggest day ever kill, thirty.

Speaker 11 (53:52):
Five mile on our wind and raining sideworks.

Speaker 1 (53:56):
Will you please? Can we not do that? Get it?
It's not an exact science. And Greg, you of course,
has made it made us all realize that means a
ten mile hour wind and it was missing it. Doesn't
They always make the conditions worse than they were. Oh yeah, okay,
just a little bit a little embellishment there, as if
the truth isn't enough. Right, thirty five miles an hour,

(54:18):
sideways rain, it was snowing too.

Speaker 4 (54:21):
It was raining and snowing.

Speaker 1 (54:23):
Hey, let me usually the conditions when you cut out,
you do, Hey, you won't see as many deer, but
you'll see the biggest buddy of mine. It's always that
he's killed him that way. Do you have my granddaddy's
biggest d ever killed taking a dump thirty five mile
winds coming from behind him, right through with smell, raining, sideways, lightning.

Speaker 15 (54:46):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (54:47):
Yeah, right just to the left of the field. You
remember the tornado or so and so buddy, mine killed
deer right in the middle of it. I mean, you
biggest want to ever killed, right, there's always that person. Yeah,
And look, I've done that before where I've gone out
in bad conditions and I've set there and yeah, I've
seen one loan deer come through, but I've never had

(55:09):
some great experience at it. Now I don't have one
of those stories, the best one I ever killed.

Speaker 16 (55:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (55:14):
Well, and plus this, this, I mean I saw you know,
of course you can't help, but see Gerald Kates if
he's anywhere. But last night, of all the things that
Jerald Kate was talking about, and this shows how we're
getting and Gerald's just as bad as the rest of us.
What do you talk about the most camp hous breakfast? Yeah,
but we come down to camp love camp hous breakfast

(55:35):
and I'm like, so we're not even talking about hunting anymore.
All we're talking about is, hey, watch a little football,
you little camp house breakman. I'm like, we ain't mentioned
hunting yet. Yeah, you know it.

Speaker 9 (55:46):
Do y'all find yourself some years being more intent than others. Now,
I understand life has a lot to do with that, right, uh,
and what you got going on personally? Yeah, but I've
noticed that too. Some years it's like you're really all
just jacked, and then other years you're like, and and
this is let me take the spiritual side out of
it before you all start getting on me.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
Okay. I understand how grateful we should be for God's grace.
And I'm thankful that God came as this baby in
the manger. Okay, And I'm grateful and I'm thankful for
all he did. I'm not talking about that, Okay, that
would actually not be a hassled off. We just focus
on that. But I will tell y'all, and I know,
I know some years, some years I'm that person therebody goes, wow,

(56:28):
Rix Jolly, I don't have the energy for the for
the holidays issue. I just don't know. I'm just like,
just like, could we just could we just take this
down to It's like, could we all just like tell everybody,
you know, let's let's all be thankful and lets and
let's let's let's remember the the you know, when God

(56:51):
became a man. Can we just take the rest of
it and not fool with it? I mean, I mean,
just just that you gotta get ready. You gotta get
these years and gotta go. We gotta get deal with
I mean some years, some years I'm all in, I'm like,
oh I love all this, and then there's years I'm
just like, you know, I just wash. This thing could
be low key, I know, I know.

Speaker 17 (57:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (57:12):
Terry and I we were eating one night this past
week and she's like, I'm so far behind, Like what
do you mean you behind?

Speaker 1 (57:17):
See that? Oh we just got to get stressed. You
got to get that decorated. And I said, honey, and
she's like, well, I don't know what Thanksgiving being late
this year, there's only three and a half weeks. Join like, man,
you're working me up.

Speaker 6 (57:29):
I had to tell my wife, hey, because I got
a Christmas tree out of the attic this weekend.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
A boy, everybody anybody.

Speaker 1 (57:35):
Else there, Y know, I've been there. So you been there?
Oh yeah it was last week. I just went ahead
and got it down.

Speaker 6 (57:42):
I went I got it down this week and the
boxer stacking up. I had to tell my wife, hey,
enjoy this. At least enjoy this, because I'm not going
to enjoy this. I need somebody to enjoy this. And
you're you're in a frenzy here. Let's just let's get
jolly with it.

Speaker 1 (57:58):
I'd be thrilled if we pulled out when in the
little Christmas trees you can put on the desk, plug
it in and uh and and and and turn on
a Christmas ship show. Yeah, and that's it. And I
would I would just say, hey, you want to put
one pumpkin in the middle of the table for Thanksgiving?
That's great, you know, but this this big production, right,
I mean sometimes I envy the people that are gonna

(58:21):
have Thanksgiving dinner at crackerber. Let's just go get something.
You're right, and you're terrible so much it's terrible. Yeah,
you ain't gonna have to say, uh, you know, brench
last year, last year, you're your preparation for Christmas. Last year,
I remember it started in September. Yeah. Oh yeah, I'm
already dreading next year. And this year you're back to

(58:45):
hosting that. Yeah, I'm already dreading it. I got a
whole other year.

Speaker 18 (58:50):
Fake Christmas trees. Why are they so sharp? Why are
fake Christmas trees so sharp? I worked in reel brush
this weekend and it was way softer than Okay, this.

Speaker 8 (59:02):
Is the Rick Burgess show Strange Encounters, the new podcast
from Rick Burgess. Get it no wherever you get podcasts.

Speaker 1 (59:24):
That is now available. Brand new episode, episode twenty Strange
Encounters came out over the weekend, so if you didn't,
if you have to check it out, either watch it
or listen to it wherever you get podcasts. And also
own the Rick Burgess Show YouTube channel. We deal with psychics.
What does scripture have to say about that?

Speaker 12 (59:45):
Okay, check it out.

Speaker 1 (59:48):
Okay, I don't know when I think so. I need
y'all to help me with this, Okay, man, help me
with this, audience, help me with this. I don't know
whether this is me thinking I could have something. There's
a bit of a backhanded blessing in here, but yet

(01:00:11):
it'd be nice if I didn't need this. But I
guess it almost kind of worked out. And of course
this is involving Gary. I just got an email from
somebody says, I don't know if it is worthy enough
to talk about on the show, but anyway, I was
near where you and your family have your farm. I
was at a church over the weekend for a birthday

(01:00:34):
party on Friday night, and who walks in Gary the
Bulldozer man, Spurmaster vines. He was invited. You remember he
said he was going to a birthday Friday night, birthday
speak at it. Remember that's why he was snazzy dressed.
But this that's dressing early. But I think this person,
I think this person gracious, I think I think this

(01:00:57):
person is mistaken. Though just listen. Turns out he was
really kind. He was kind of my wife, and he
is my wife's grandmother's nephew. Wise grandma. His son was
married to my cousin. Mm hmmm, cousin, we're going. I

(01:01:17):
thought it. I think it goes to show how small
our world actually is. And by the way, I'm in
love with the new show and the podcast Strange Encounters. Well,
thank you. He sees Gary, but he says Gary's nice,
you know, mistaken, couldn't Gary. I wonder if he had
on his khakis and it's but I'm here for this
little birthday party and I got I got my button

(01:01:37):
down on, I'm talking it into my khaky. I'm like,
speak a little early to get dressed for the party.
Really was it was twelve at least four. By the way,
the way he was dressed on Friday's show was was
really he wanted to show. I'm gonna tell you what
it is. He's starting to embrace his celebrity a little bit. Yeah, Hey,
I gotta look nice. People expect it. Yeah, I can't show,

(01:01:57):
you know, I asked him. Uh when he was here,
I was like, why didn't people see the nice Gary
that I know? You know why I did? Oh you know,
big old you know ard nose Gary. And here he comes.
But you know, in the right setting, he can be
very quiet. He can. He's got a bit of a
soft heart. He can a little softer underbelly. And I

(01:02:18):
think that's a soft underbelly, you know, type of if
you had a church. Right, we're like, like deep down
and I mean serious, biss I mean he he and Sherry.
It's a funny little thing we talk about. But he's
gonna always take care of here. Oh no, no, I'm
gonna take care of the share now. Scared she mean,
but I'll take care of her. I ain't nobody gonna

(01:02:38):
mess with a little missy. Now. She may not need
nobody because she mean, but she does.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
I will.

Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
He looks after you know. But on that note, it's
still Gary. It is so I had a mammoth weekend
ahead of me. Mammoth. Okay, so I don't have time
for fos. So you know you gave me speedy. You
shared your your fence guy, so I know he was

(01:03:04):
used to somebody haggling over the price. So uh so
he great guy, great price, that's right. So so he
we We had some fence that that for years needed
to be finished and it had not been finished. Had
a major hanging that up a lot. Had a major
fence project a few years ago. Great guy, great people

(01:03:25):
that did a great job, got it done, but there
were still things that needed to be done later. There's
some repairs that need to be done on that fence
project because of trees and and you have a fence project.
Oh yes, I will.

Speaker 17 (01:03:37):
Greg.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
If you have land, you gonna have fence. Especially you know,
share is very very very and it's and I wouldn't
be this way. She's right. You know, you have to
have your property fenced if you can, because if not,
even though people can get around a fence, if they
break in, at least you go and know they knew
where the line was. I mean, we have it all marked,
and she's real big on it all be marked and

(01:03:59):
having it, and plus then you have fences that just
look good. Well, like we find out we have a pastor,
and I noticed that this on the dirt road. Well,
people just run off in your pastor, muddy and stuff
like that. At least put a fence up so they
look and go. I guess they don't want us to
do that. They won't run through it. Yeah right, well
most will. Well, so so remember I think it. I

(01:04:19):
think it's a joke, of course. So I'm i'm I'm
driving to pick up sherry and head into the mammoth weekend.
We got an event on Friday night, we got a
wedding on Saturday. We're teaching Sunday school on Sunday, another
event Sunday night. We're not gonna come off the road
all weekend, okay, And even when we get back home,
we're only gonna be there for a few minutes before

(01:04:41):
we go to the next thing. It's one of those weekends.

Speaker 12 (01:04:43):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
I see text, hey call me quickly, now Gary will
do a call me, but call me quickly. That means
that's next level. I ain't playing no games. Hey call
me quickly. Well, I even think, well, maybe if the
quickly wasn't there. He didn't.

Speaker 12 (01:05:00):
He does.

Speaker 1 (01:05:00):
He likes to sometimes, he likes to sometimes review if
he's on the show. How do you think that went today?
You know, got all kinds of people texts.

Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
So that's a nice looking fence.

Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
Well it was, uh, and so I get I pick up.
Gary's like, hey, we got problems down here. We got bees,
you got be bees whatever. He goes somebody somebody, somebody's
done crashed into the fence. But I said, Gary, is
this defence? Gary put up? Yes, I said, I said,

(01:05:32):
I said, Gary, I don't have I don't have time
for this. This isn't the new project. No, but okay,
you really all right? But like so it's the one
on the backside right there by the road. Yeah, the
one that Gary says that we're not using. You got
that crazy rocks then, yeah, for some reason. So anyway,
this is the one where, of course my neighbor decided
that I wouldn't use it, so he started using it.
But do you know, but that's you know, it didn't

(01:05:54):
really matter what I was using the time. But anyway,
so but but now we know and we needed to
put but there is fit going back there too to
for the other part of the property line that remember,
it wasn't completed, so that's part of this project. So
then about that time I'm thinking he's joking with me.
I noticed that one of my neighbors down there is
trying to call me too, and I thought, Okay, this

(01:06:15):
is real. This is dog gone real gummy, because the
neighbors that are trying to call me lives right there
where this fence is. Well, apparently, God God bless her,
an older lady passed out at the wheel. Praise God,
Praise God. She didn't get hurt in the crash or

(01:06:36):
hurt anybody. She could have gone the other way and
went into oncoming traffic if there was had what you know,
because that road's not crazy active, but it's more active. Yeah,
it's pretty active, okay, and this is quite the same.
So she crashes into the fence, tearing the fence down,
and then also got into the black chain link fence,

(01:06:56):
which is part of the ongoing repair project. So I
think we had repair air defense that she the car
did damage again and I mean her her car just
plowed into it, so knocked down a port rather Oh man,
see that's that's that's lucky. She's okay. Yeah, and there's
but that part's new goodbye. Now that part was being repaired, okay,

(01:07:18):
so now it's going to have to be repaired again.
So now keep in mind, I think I'm being prank
then realize I'm not. And I did. I did, just
for you say anything, Adler, Yes, I asked her. She
was okay, okay, and they said she's okay from the crash.

Speaker 4 (01:07:32):
How's the fence.

Speaker 1 (01:07:34):
But the paramedics still say, but you passed out at
the wheel. Yeah, that's not so we got to take
you to the hospital. You really shouldn't be passing out
at the wheel. No, So so they took her to
the hospital for that. Her car is damage and and
you know, her insurance at some point, would you know,
will pay for whatever that crash said she come cutting
through towards us this way. Yeah, and so so now

(01:07:55):
I become that goodness, she didn't go into own image. Yeah.
So now I be come Gary to the fence guy
because he's he listens to the show. He knows how
we cut up. Yeah, And I said, hey, man, are
you are you down there right now? He said, I'm not.
But the crew, I said, the crew down there? He said, yeah,
And I said, Joe down there and he's just the
you know, super he said, the foreman. He said, I

(01:08:16):
used to wrestle. You know that, right, Yes?

Speaker 12 (01:08:18):
I do.

Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
Yeah, so yes, he told me about that. We've met
this guy, yeah, yeah, of course. My My first thing
I asked him was I said, you're thinking House seventy five. Yeah,
So anyway, I rubbed his shoulders before. But that's good.
He telling me about that, his shoulders. He had a nod.
He asked me to get out adler picture. You're me.
I'm talking. I'm talking. I'm talking to the supervisor, the

(01:08:40):
foreman of the job. He's marking off for a fence
post should be. And he comes over to me and says,
you might remember me Speedy rubbed my shoulders.

Speaker 19 (01:08:48):
And I was like, well, what.

Speaker 1 (01:08:51):
Had it was a trainer kind of thing. You weren't
He was a host and you were host. And my
first thought, you know, first thing after the show, The
first thing I said to him, I said, I said,
you're the first. You're not the first person they'll say that,
but you are the first mail But anyway, all right, okay,
all right, but anyway, so so now I call your

(01:09:12):
fence guy Alex, and I said, hey, man, good ways
from the road.

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (01:09:18):
He said, I'm already gone. I said, we've had somebody
crash into the fence. He goes, Okay, I'm sorry, I said,
I said, I I said, I said, by the way,
I wish I was kidding, was it Dicky Nadmire? I said,
straight up, somebody's crashed into the fence. He goes, well,

(01:09:39):
and I started sitting in pictures and he said okay.
I said, so, I guess just tell the crew add
this to the list. Yeah, so at least there was
a fence crew down there. Are you gonna let Gary
fix that the first part there? No, since he didn't
written no.

Speaker 4 (01:09:55):
So there's a fence crew down there already, they shit
him on it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
I got to tell you the way it the way
she hit it. I mean it was kind of a clean,
clean break. It was, you know, I think, I think
God again, Thank goodness. She's okay. And we finally got
there in the text.

Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
Yeah, we talked about the fence first, right a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:10:14):
Yeah, No, the fence. So let me ask you all, so,
let me ask you this, where does this land? Where's
this land on? You can't have nothing the fact, there's
a crew down there that can just go over and
repair it while they're down there. Does that Well, you
can have a crew, I guess. But I can have
a crew, just not a fence. Yeah, yeah, right, And

(01:10:34):
that lady can't have a car. Our car is pretty dead.
I mean, this is going to slow them down.

Speaker 12 (01:10:42):
You're right.

Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
And we were making huge progress, by the way, huge progress.
So now this, kay, you're right. Now we got to
Now we're fixing fence. We didn't think we had to
fix Yeah, but she is okay, Rick, the lady's okay,
Well she don't.

Speaker 8 (01:10:59):
I don't know why, right, is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
All I want for Christmas is some whole hard cash.

Speaker 8 (01:11:21):
Sorry, the cash count down for Christmas is coming soon.
Only here on the Rick Budge's Show.

Speaker 1 (01:11:28):
Old Saint Rick gonna be handed out cash. Also got
one big gift we're gonna give to that's gonna be nice.
Otherwise it's just straight Christmas cash. When does it start?
Pay attention? Coming soon?

Speaker 18 (01:11:45):
All right?

Speaker 1 (01:11:45):
So we do have one story today and this would
this would apply to us, by the way, all right,
because of the time that we get up and go
to work and a lot of you out there in
the same deal. Anybody know what dark showering? Showering is
dark but showers terry shower. I've heard of dark shadows showering.

Speaker 9 (01:12:09):
Terry will take a shower stuff word without turning the
shower light on. It now might be, but like behind
the curtain, it's just she's in the dark.

Speaker 1 (01:12:17):
I've had that when the bubb blown, I couldn't get
the fixture loose. By the way, my shower bulb will
blink a lot. It's problem, it's problematic. Well, you're handy,
so get it done well.

Speaker 4 (01:12:28):
I have.

Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
I've changed it out that it just didn't do well. Wow,
something moisture in there. Yeah, that's what it is. Are
y'all getting attacked by lady bugs? Saying? No, I had
to get a p s out there, the the pest
control guy, and and he was like, I got this.
I said, we're so overwhelmed with lady bugs, Like something's

(01:12:50):
got to be done and uh. And they actually had
a treatment for oh, and there's still a few around.
But he got rid of the swarm and we had
a swarm. Yeah, I'll tell you what's funny. For some reason,
my grandson elis the oldest He filmed the ladybugs and
sent it to us. But he only wanted Lee to
look at it. You know, you couldn't look at it.

(01:13:11):
Only some reason you want to kill it. I get,
he said, For some reason he wanted her to look
at you weren't allowed. She had to film some lighting
bugs at our house and send them back. Then lightning
bugs woul lady lady bugs.

Speaker 9 (01:13:24):
There was a little bit of lady bug drama at
the house. I got lady is this cold snap going
to get rid of them? There was some kind that
they're migrating from somewhere.

Speaker 12 (01:13:32):
This every year.

Speaker 1 (01:13:33):
This happens every year, so it's not this year though.
But JC opened one of his suitcases from Japan and
he was going to show us a couple of ties
that he got or whatever, and a ladybug comes out,
Japanese one, and we'd like, he's brought the ladybug. Did
the lady bug get in there?

Speaker 9 (01:13:52):
And what's the situation or did you bring a lady
back a bug back from Japan and bring something back?

Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
And he's like, I don't know, invasive species, invasive Japanese lady,
but ladybug get in there. After he opened it because
it wasn't the media. It was after he was sticking.
It's like, wait a minute, so we're not sure he
might have brought Sweet home Alabama. I don't know about
the reckon the wrong line. We got ladybug swarms everywhere,
yeh yeah, we always had.

Speaker 6 (01:14:18):
So Ruby is a fan of them, and so is
my wife. Then and so we got in the kitchen
there's a ladybug flying around. So my wife and I
are like trying to like shoe, oh, shoe it to
the to the door to get it out of the kitchen.
And we're like, it's okay, shoe, you know, and we're

(01:14:38):
like shoeing it or whatever. And it lands on the
doorframe and it's a fly.

Speaker 1 (01:14:44):
It's not even a.

Speaker 13 (01:14:45):
Lady bum being all nice and coddling a disgusting, buzzing
Flyably you fly, I don't know why you're talking to fly.

Speaker 1 (01:14:56):
Perhaps you'll die.

Speaker 4 (01:14:57):
And then he and then he lands.

Speaker 6 (01:14:59):
I'm like, wait a second, that's part was the fly
flap imposture.

Speaker 1 (01:15:04):
You get a fly flag. So apparently back off the
lady bugs and back to the shower just reminded me
of that, because that light for the lady bugs right now,
the the you know what I mean? You look you
ever look at those who see bugs in there? Yeah,
so you got an issue, Rick, I know, fix it
im soon as I fixed the fence. If you even
have a ladder to get on, of course I have

(01:15:26):
a ladder. You think handy? Rick didn't have a ladder,
you know. So they're saying that we would be better
off because light powerfully influences the brain. And uh, they're
saying that bright light and blue light tells the body
to wake up by raising you know, the melatonin and

(01:15:46):
also lowering it as well. So when the lights go
out are no lights while you're taking a shower, your
body begins the natural descent and to rest and repair mode. Well,
that wouldn't work for us to take a shower before,
but at night it would. I really don't need any
help at night. How often? How often do y'all hit
a shower before bed every night? Every night?

Speaker 4 (01:16:08):
Usually?

Speaker 1 (01:16:09):
And then the shower at night is to get clean,
the shower in the mornings to wake up. Yeah, got it,
got it. And I would shower at night and not
shower in the morning. But I, like you said, I
got to have that wake up. Yeah. So yeah, do
you ever feel like stick your head you feel right now?
It's cold in Alabama, so we won't be sweating. Do

(01:16:29):
you think have you ever thought I'm clean enough? I
don't think I need that night. She could shower. You
ain't done anything physical out there bumping? Yeah, yeah, I
just like to have a shower. Sleep better. But you're
right there. Days if I'm not sweaty or something. Well,
they're saying, if you really want to sweet sleep better,
turn the lights off while you're showering. But something about
that feels weird. Well, I'll pass out in the shower, right,

(01:16:52):
I'll fall asleep because we're sleepy anyway. Oh yeah, you
know we double up. I'm out by the way at night.
I think the four of us as a team of
the sleepier four people on Earth. Oh yeah, that's a
fact when you're when you're fighting to stay away till seven. Yeah,
if there was a sleep if there was a sleepy
team and we showed, everybody said, oh we got no chance.
Got sleepy there. This is for the sleeper people on

(01:17:13):
the planet. Hey almost, Uh so Friday night to be
sleeping night JC.

Speaker 9 (01:17:18):
We were supposed to land at nine fifteen pm local time,
so we were gonna head on out to mobile parking
and he was going to text when he was grabbing
his bags, and.

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
You couldn't believe he was on time. You couldn't believe.

Speaker 20 (01:17:28):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
But I was fighting to stay awake back to what
y'all were saying Friday night, and I'm like shaking my
head trying to stay away, just to you know, to
get him. Almost wanted to take a nap, So I
wake up, go get you. They got it almost, not all.
Let me get a quick power man.

Speaker 2 (01:17:43):
What about?

Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
What about when I sat down in front of the
brush arbor and all of a sudden, my brother in
law decides to have a fire right there, and I'm
sitting down. I still got to get them speaking. I'm
sitting there in this dark, not fires crackling, and it's
a Friday. You think I would go off? I tell
you the banjo saved me. You gotta be ready and
woke you right up. If you stay on that coasty guitar,

(01:18:04):
I'd probably go that.

Speaker 12 (01:18:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:18:07):
So anyway, if Satan set by the band at the
ball game, I would have fell asleep. Yeah, you set
by the band. I didn't mean to nothing in the band,
nothing against them but they're louder in the game. Yeah,
it's tough to say. Yeah, and band parents are off.
I'm sorry. You know that's it's a different crowd. A
lot of band parents that listen at every band parent

(01:18:29):
will admit that it's a different crowd. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:18:36):
And then you have something you meet that are like, yeah,
I'm here for the band because my son or daughter's
on the band, But I really love football.

Speaker 1 (01:18:43):
My daughter was a ballerina jes year and I go
to all those games.

Speaker 8 (01:18:46):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 11 (01:19:01):
You better listen up, you know, like we say, assign
you gotta find.

Speaker 8 (01:19:15):
Broadcasting from the world The Rich Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:19:20):
All right, America, Brandy Iwer, thank you for being with
us as we marched through another day together. We'll get
into untreed phone calls for the first time this week
coming up this hour, if we dare speedy, Greg Adler
the Gang Hall here. We did a lot already today.
If you missed any of that catch up on the

(01:19:42):
Daily our Guy, you can find that on our podcast
to our YouTube channel. Yeah, I saw that somebody from
text Nation. I actually saw a story about that. They said,
the ladybugs that we have in sweet Home Alabama. There
see Asian lady bugs migrating and they will pinch or

(01:20:04):
kind of bite at you a little bit if you
get too many among them. Now that I saw a
story about that, so oh yeah, they look innocent, but
they're not uh so uh so, but I mean, not
anything major, but it can just be a little annoying.
I thought there were things that are I thought there
were things that we all knew. Everybody, I mean that

(01:20:27):
we all just as a society. We said, yes, we've
all agreed on these things. And one of them is
certain public restroom etiquette that we've covered acknowledge on the show.
I don't understand that did did who didn't get this memo?
So unfortunately you're not going into detail. No, I'm nothing

(01:20:52):
to worry about that. It's real simple, and I will
move on to the next topic. Okay, if you if
you are going to a public restroom and there are
multiple stalls, these are the closed door sitting down situation,
and you walk in and the last stall is occupied

(01:21:14):
and the other in our case three are available. You
do not go down and sit next to the person.
No skip one. You skip one. Same thing with you.
You can go to the middle you ain't got to
go to the end. You ain't got to go because
then you could be by the urinal. You don't have
to go on the one on the odd, but id
up beside somebody if somebody don't. If somebody is down

(01:21:35):
on the far end, and there are three available stalls,
you don't come in and take a seat next to
the only occupied stall, leaving the other two first to vacant.
You just get in that second stall. The correct would
take the middle one. That's correct. If you're not going
to do that, you're gonna have to take the urinal one.

(01:21:56):
That's what Which is a tough one? A tough one?
Do this wind distance is available? The least used is
that first one. But it's seen people and there's here.
He was in there first one, no matter what, right
I think he's going, Hey, this is the cleanest one.
I don't know, it's the closest one. I think weird
to be able to hear people up next to him

(01:22:18):
urinating why he's on the commotion.

Speaker 6 (01:22:19):
I give people a little hey, check out my foot
under the stall, if you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (01:22:24):
But you don't go down and that's a bad time.
Remember that guy got in trouble for that. We have
four working. We have four stalls. If somebody's in four
and one, two, three are available, you go to stall two.
You do not go to stall three. That's that's just common.
Somebody just sit down right beside me. Golly, they butted
up like you know, like we both you know birds?

(01:22:46):
Do you have to mix a little water with us?
We're going to the movie together, jail. Both are nearly
touching stuff for that wall. Gracious, my goodness, our shoe
shouldn't be there close together. Your shoe is by my shoe.
What are we doing?

Speaker 12 (01:22:59):
Rick?

Speaker 6 (01:23:00):
If you're install four, I hate to say, you may
be breaking an etiquette rule as well.

Speaker 1 (01:23:05):
Oh I know, No, that's not true. You're not handicapped.

Speaker 4 (01:23:08):
You're not handicap.

Speaker 1 (01:23:10):
But I will observe the fact that shows up. I'll move.
The handy stall is the best stall unless there's a
handicapped person, then you can't use it. So you're saying
if you hear, if I hear wheels, if I see
your hear wheels, yes, I will say this. What if
you heard I'm out time out. I'm fifty nine years old.

(01:23:32):
I've never seen anybody using them I have any tollt
I never have. I never saw him. Somebody, you need it,
I have not.

Speaker 4 (01:23:39):
You've never seen a wheel You've never seen a wheelchair.

Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
I'm in a bathroom. I've never been in a bathroom
and a wheelchair coming in and it doesn't happen and
need it. I'm just saying I haven't done that and
it happened. He's not very observed. I'm just saying it's
never happened with me. Or it might be somebody with
a walker. I think the walker people on their own,
well they got this that handling there, they sit down
and well, that's true, that's what that's what the bar
is for.

Speaker 2 (01:24:01):
There's a bar.

Speaker 1 (01:24:02):
A walker is not complete to me. I think I
think the handy stick walk they can walk to the
handy stall is for wheelchair wheelchair only. Yeah, and I
scope the area, beflug. Go in there and see for
anybody that you.

Speaker 4 (01:24:15):
Scope the area.

Speaker 1 (01:24:16):
Do you walk around with that with parking spots z odds, No,
you can't do a parking spot. There's more people are
handicap who park, and everybody has a handicapped sticker. Now
apparently they don't have a sticker on the store, the
whole world. No what what I just assumed. What I'm
saying is especially the time, extra the time of day,

(01:24:40):
because you do know that once the other office people
get here, even if I have to use a stall,
I can't. There's too much action, too much talking to
But when it when it is the middle of the
night and where it worked, and there's no one at
the office but us. The odds of a handicapped person
needing that star zero?

Speaker 12 (01:24:58):
What did he wonder?

Speaker 1 (01:24:59):
Did he wonder? In out of the parking lot. I
was on my way to go see my family, and
I'm handicapped, and I have a wheelchair, and I stopped
at a random office building and now I'm wheeling myself
in to use the handicapped stall in this office building.
I'm sorry. The odds of that are not high. Could
be they're just meetings, meetings, not before not before everybody

(01:25:21):
opens for the day. The odds are minuscule. If I
hear the squeaking of wheels, I'll get up. I want
wants to hang on. This is yours. Let you get
out of here, and I would say the seats warm.
You'll be thankful. Now, Well you heard that, of course,
then the person would tell me, why do they talk

(01:25:41):
like that? Why don't know? You think that's how handicap
people talking about?

Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
I have them as a little elderly wow question.

Speaker 1 (01:25:48):
I've seen young people in wheelchairs, handicapped.

Speaker 6 (01:25:52):
People closed, handicapped people. I gotta make our question. Are
handicapped people making an effort to avoid bathrooms for two reasons?
Because they got their wheels, they're pushing their wheels. They
don't want to get their.

Speaker 4 (01:26:05):
Wheels on a bathroom. I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to.

Speaker 6 (01:26:10):
So do they know that they're they're they're planning for
that throughout their day in the bathroom too, because the
people like y'all, they never have a handicap store.

Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
That's what I never.

Speaker 4 (01:26:21):
They don't show their face around there because of people
like y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
I will yield to someone who needs get up. Not finished,
but I'm gonna get up. You start, I'll get up,
I'll get up. Let me just finish up here ahead
No no no, no no no.

Speaker 20 (01:26:43):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:26:44):
The text filling up. You can't push it yet, but
you will be able to soon. No, Greg, we all
know what you do. You do one final push, you flush,
you get out of there. Will you help me? See
that I hear who asked you? They don't help. They
don't you help me?

Speaker 4 (01:26:58):
If you're in there, they wouldn't help.

Speaker 6 (01:27:00):
What I tell you that the two you would though,
you would offer the help, and they'd be like, no, man,
be someone who doesn't won't help.

Speaker 1 (01:27:10):
I've never seen that stall be used by anybody other
than people like me who need the room. Yeah, okay, buddy,
I don't.

Speaker 6 (01:27:17):
Know if I've seen, honestly, if I've seen tires in
a bathroom, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (01:27:21):
Have I seen wheels? I'm trying to think. Have I
seen wheels in a bathroom?

Speaker 1 (01:27:25):
It doesn't happen a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:27:26):
Maybe at the airport, but that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:28):
I think, Yeah, it doesn't happen a lot. And you
know that's why. That's why a lot of times you
see gloves, if it's not a glove, if it's not
an automatic wheelchair, if they're having to use the hands, yeah,
because they're picking up. Abody made a great point. It's
handicap accessible, it's not just handicap only. Good point, that's
well said. That's yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:27:48):
Same with the parking spots, apples and oranges.

Speaker 6 (01:27:52):
Why don't you sit in their chair while their apples
and oranges.

Speaker 1 (01:27:57):
Your legs tired.

Speaker 4 (01:27:58):
Get a wheel.

Speaker 1 (01:27:58):
By the way, I'm the one that's trying to get
tense removed for handicapped people for football games and football games,
so you know you're doing your part, department. I am
an advocate for that community and it's handicapped accessible or
not only parking, so I can't either. You never went

(01:28:20):
up a ramp outside of building.

Speaker 4 (01:28:22):
The steps are for you. The ramp is not for you. Okay,
they didn't build that ramp for you.

Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
No, it's for handicap people. But youboy to see.

Speaker 4 (01:28:29):
Wheels through the crack in the door.

Speaker 1 (01:28:31):
That's what it takes.

Speaker 8 (01:28:32):
Yes, this is the Rick Burgers Show weeboard and let

call this week probably, yeah, maybe early next. Really you
think I don't know to step out there?

Speaker 10 (01:29:33):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:29:33):
Anybody out there happened to be paying attention when I
had the Ozmpic guy passed out in Oval office. I
saw that. Well, my dad gave me a breakdown and
he couldn't even see it, and he said, wow. He
just said, hey, the play by play of that, right, wow. Well,
you may be thinking to yourself, I'm happy for the

(01:29:53):
people that this has worked for, and maybe there's no issue,
but it can be very expensive. I know they're trying
to work on that too. But there's a there's a
there's a way that you could go about this.

Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:30:03):
That is all natural from our friends at Brickhouse Nutrition.
It's called takeleen dot com. You know you might have
been like me, uh wait, cycling, Eh, I need to
lose a little weight. I do some fad diet, I
drop it off and I go then what a strange concept.
I go back to the wad I was living before,
and hey, it came right back home. By the way,

(01:30:24):
not good for the body, increases your chance of stroke,
heide attack. Uh you know, uh, tope, two diabetes. So
tate lin dot com is natural. It's all natural.

Speaker 12 (01:30:35):
Uh and uh.

Speaker 1 (01:30:36):
These are botanicals that also help to suppress the appetite,
to give you some energy, uh to yeah, get the
body burning fat, keep you at a healthy blood sugar.

Speaker 17 (01:30:46):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:30:46):
It is a more natural, healthier, sustainable way to do it.
So go to taate lean dot com. Talk to a guy.
We had a guy what was it Friday? Yeah, it
was Friday from Ocilla, Georgia. So he's all fifty on Tateling.
Oh yeah, you look great. We'll sell it and healthy.
So take lan dot com twenty percent off using the

(01:31:07):
code big Vox take Ling dot com. Also a link
at Rick Burgess show dot com under the sponsors button.
So Greg, not far from your home, buddy, not far
one valley, not far from your rally. That's right, went
to another valley, that's right. I came. He didn't take
me fifteen minutes home of the valley Cubs Alexandria, Alabama,

(01:31:30):
located where the county that Greg and I grew up in,
Calhoun County. Been there many times, been there many times.
Calhun County has done a lot for the country. It's uh,
you know, We got our own culture, we got our
own way. So going back home tough, especially if you're
going back home to preach a lot of people, remember
before Jesus. Even Jesus didn't farewell when he went home.

(01:31:54):
So so I was contacted by Keith Mitchell, old friend
was part of the Rick and Bubba show. Keith was
played on our softball team. All that I hadn't seen
each other in almost thirty years. He said, Hey, we're
doing man Church at Mount Zion my church. Is there
any chance we could have a man church event to

(01:32:15):
get more men into the curriculum. Could you come? Just
give me a date. So I looked at the calendar.
We landed on November the ninth, and they did a
great job there. Pastor Jeff Knight in the game. They
had that sold out. Twenty three different churches in the
area represented. Wow, it holds five hundred. They had a

(01:32:38):
hard five hundred and had it done early. They had
it completely sold out and I had not even mentioned
it on the show yet. So chili dude, Yeah, they
got you ever seen that much chili? That's a lot
of chili. Well surprised the number of women that were
working the event. You know, anytime the women come to
a man church event, I have to cancel all my
Adam and Eve jokes. Yeah, and because you don't know

(01:32:58):
if they're if they can hear us. But but anyway,
so yes, I had a quarter zip on, all right,
so with a shirt under it, so speedy you be,
you'll be proud. So so anyway, I'm almost in that picture.
I was right, yeah, so you and cake. So Greg
starting to staying up there. Greg's like, what time you're
gonna be over here? So Cherry went to see Keith's wife,

(01:33:20):
Millie Mitchell, so she went with me, but they stayed
at the house. By the way, she made her famous
poppy seed cake. I need to bring in, got it
at the house. I bring it in tomorrow bringing on.
So Greg's like, what time you're gonna be over here?
Greg said he's coming, and so you hear it, but
you kind of hand me a little bit. Well I
didn't have a ticket, okay, all right, So anyway, what
I'm saying that was the only reason Aiden care Y,

(01:33:41):
that's right, are you here yet? There was like three
thirty rational if I was there yet? No, it was,
but anyway, so it was ten he was running late.
So we So we got there a little before four.
The k's out in the parking lot, couldn't get in.
He pulled up right before Rick. So I think it's
just Greg. I haven't I haven't heard a thing of cakes,
and so I g I worry were here. I'm walking

(01:34:04):
toward the door. I'll meet you the door. All of
a sudden I look across the parking lot. There's baby brother,
and then beside him is the large Gerald cage brought
more broad than ever. Yeah, I mean, I mean like
a shape large is what they're Yeah, i mean he's
as big as he's ever been. I'm talking about like
like farm boy big.

Speaker 12 (01:34:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:34:22):
Yeah, and uh working out that fire ray gob over.
Here we get you, little bit brother right here. I'm
coming on in here. We're gonna have some chili, you know.
And I'm like, here we go. Here we go eat chili,
make a joke of annoyse and so uh and uh
and so I'm like, here we go. And so he
and Kate decide to sit in the balcony, which made me.

(01:34:42):
We got in there and it was crowded, we had
to go up we were forest. So anyway, no, y'all
wanted to mess around in the balcony that too, clearly.
So when you go back home, it's like you try
to picture all these guys you ran around with, and
you know that they're now putting on something at church.
And so I get this picture of the of the
podium or not the podium. Didn't we learn not to

(01:35:05):
use that right? The electron that was on the stage,
you know, like the pullpit kind of thing. It's one
of those you move around and and it has the
logo the face on it brick. And don't forget, coming
in in front of the building, you had the face
out there everywhere. I thought that was just somebody putting
photo shop on that. It really wasn't only And when

(01:35:26):
I get there, it's on there and I look at
her body. I said, does everybody feel good about this?
I don't think you should have that up there on
the lectern.

Speaker 4 (01:35:34):
Sometimes it's across. Sometimes it's ricks.

Speaker 1 (01:35:38):
Glasses and beard. Yeah, and look, and so the guy
who did it, the artist Face Entertainment, I look at that,
I've got it. He gave it to me and uh,
And there were several others in there, and they had
others on the wall, and I'm like Jerald got one?
Does Gerald have one?

Speaker 9 (01:35:52):
But sign put it where your face is so I
can see your body, but just your face to bring
it up up, up, up, up up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:36:07):
That's funny. So uh saying on auby. But I was like, guys,
do we feel good about this? This isn't good?

Speaker 8 (01:36:14):
And uh so.

Speaker 1 (01:36:16):
Uh so I was like, you can't even go home,
you know, but we had a really really powerful Yeah
it was right. And like Greg and I are sating
there eating Chiley, talking to people we hadn't seen. Oh yeah,
since we're good. Yeah, and uh and you know, and
then you get into all this thing. There's so much
keep up with, you know. Now, No, I didn't go
to school, but my sister did you know, my my brother,
you know, at that age when we know each other

(01:36:39):
but we don't know the details. A lot of everybody
I played for your daddy memory I played for your
daddy went nineteen seventy five. Well, okay that yeah, my
sister's still mad at you, right. Yeah, by the way,
there was one of those I got an uncomfortable you
might know my sister and I said, no, probably not. Yeah, yeah,
you're right, So you're Okay, Sindy are something, But no,

(01:37:02):
I'm just talking about like you know, in going to
school's friends. Yeah, no, no, I no, I didn't run
across this. No, no, don't anything uncomfortable. No, it was
nothing like that. Sweet, that's the issue you have when
you write it. We don't know. We don't have that,
just like my problem is, Yeah, my problem is like,
was I was I mean to them that I prank
them fully up?

Speaker 12 (01:37:23):
Did I get it?

Speaker 3 (01:37:23):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:37:23):
I wasn't a bullet and go to their part to
eat other food, leave things like that. Well not that's accurate.
That didn't have I will come back and unscreened phone
calls coming up.

Speaker 8 (01:37:34):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. No, the most Dangerous
ten minutes in radio. Unscreened phone calls. Get in no

(01:37:55):
by dialing one eight eight eight six, Big Fox, Hey.

Speaker 1 (01:37:59):
One, say happy two hundred and fiftieth anniversary to the
Marine Corps today. Yeah, back in seventeen seventy five today,
I believe it was in a pub where we came
up with the idea. Are you talking about the few
of the prow the few, the proud the Marines? So shoot,
two hundred and fifty years old today out of our

(01:38:21):
home state, Sweet Home, Alabama, the American village having the
official cake cutting ceremony today, you can you know, hopefully
you're doing something to celebrate in your community as well,
celebrating the Marines today, two hundred and fifty years, a
legacy of honor, courage, and commitment, all the way back
from seventeen seventy five. Today, thank you to Marines everywhere,

(01:38:46):
past present, and those of you that hopefully are going
to be future marines. All right, to the phones, we go,
unscreened phone calls. Hello, you're on the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
Go right ahead, riddle me this Rick.

Speaker 16 (01:38:59):
What happens if you're going go into stall number two
and there's a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:39:02):
Of do do everywhere? All right, come on, man, you
need to flee Rick Birger's Show. Unscreen phone calls.

Speaker 16 (01:39:09):
Go ahead, may speedy.

Speaker 20 (01:39:11):
Have you done any timber tugging this year?

Speaker 12 (01:39:13):
Yet?

Speaker 1 (01:39:14):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:39:16):
What timber clearing?

Speaker 21 (01:39:18):
I think.

Speaker 1 (01:39:21):
The fact he was in a weird mon did I.

Speaker 4 (01:39:22):
Did this weekend?

Speaker 1 (01:39:23):
Yeah? The trails?

Speaker 12 (01:39:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 15 (01:39:27):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:39:28):
That's a good question. Yeah, we actually did work on
some trails this past weekend. Yeah, me too.

Speaker 9 (01:39:33):
Wow, had I had a fancy knockown. Wow, the acorns
are dropping in the hardwood.

Speaker 12 (01:39:39):
Yes, a.

Speaker 1 (01:39:41):
Wonder the Rick Burgers show on screen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 19 (01:39:46):
Uh yeah, y'all were having a discussion about handicap stalls.
I've been in a wheelchair for forty four plus years
and I wanted to see if y'all needed a little information.
You might even need a re no resident expert handicapped
ex So.

Speaker 1 (01:40:03):
How many times do you roll into a public bathroom
in need of one? Oh?

Speaker 19 (01:40:08):
Uh, pretty pretty regular.

Speaker 15 (01:40:11):
Uh.

Speaker 19 (01:40:11):
There's things y'all may not be considering, and that is
the especially if the airport is a no no. Under
any circumstance, you could never use a handicap wheelchair. You've
been on an airplane. You have been on airplane and

(01:40:32):
you're coming off and you really really.

Speaker 12 (01:40:34):
Got to go.

Speaker 19 (01:40:35):
Yes, yes, I have somebody in a wheelchair. They can't
really process holding that very long. And some people, you know,
have catheters.

Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
Uh.

Speaker 19 (01:40:46):
And if a catheter, if you don't catheterize when you
really need to, you can wind up stroking.

Speaker 1 (01:40:52):
Out for there's a high Now I asked if someone
will need it, so stay away from I get that. Yeah,
I don't of course I try not to go in,
and you probably the same way in an airport bathroom
if I can avoid it. But yeah, see that would
defeat the purpose because I know the odds are high
that it needs to be accessible. But in an office building,

(01:41:13):
you know, at say five point thirty in the morning,
I don't really think that I'm putting anyone at risk.
The odds are almost zero.

Speaker 19 (01:41:22):
Right the circumstance you mentioned, I wouldn't have a problem
with I don't I say I'm a reasonable uh handicapped
person because I don't. I don't mind people using the
handicap stall if. But the thing you'd never know is,
like I said, in an emergency situations, you know, the
situation like speed, he's on the highway, he's really.

Speaker 22 (01:41:42):
Got to go.

Speaker 1 (01:41:44):
So you're saying I couldn't get up in time. Do
the semi squad flesh it clear out?

Speaker 12 (01:41:48):
Actually, here you go, man.

Speaker 19 (01:41:50):
No, people like me are never going to ask you to.
And my wheelchair is so quiet you're never going to
hear any squeaking.

Speaker 12 (01:41:56):
Will Yeah, but.

Speaker 1 (01:42:00):
I look for those wheels. I look for those wheels.
But no, you're right, I think you have to think
through and no airport is a no go. There's I
see that. There's there's loads of people that need to
use them in airports, So I would never do that.

Speaker 19 (01:42:14):
But where I go to church, my church has a
really nice handicapped accessible bathroom, really nice stall. It's really nice.
And when I go in there, there's you know, there's
like four stalls and sometimes you know, transitioning from one service.
We have three services and sometimes they're full. That doesn't matter.
I just sit there and wait till somebody's through. I'm

(01:42:35):
not gonna you know, there's some.

Speaker 1 (01:42:37):
You don't be afraid to be aggressed with.

Speaker 19 (01:42:39):
Some people that are a little you know, they're a
little aggressive.

Speaker 1 (01:42:41):
Yeah, well that's all, you know. I understand though, I do.
I know how frustrating it is because you know, like
we say the all the time, you know, going through
and knowing people that have been in your situation, you know,
nothing's easy and you know everything's a lot more complicated.
And so thank you for having such a good attitude
when it would be easy not to. And thanks for

(01:43:03):
clarification on that as well, and thanks for listening to
the show. Rick Birders show unscreenphone go ahead, Hey, Rick,
Top of the morning to you thank you man.

Speaker 12 (01:43:13):
You too.

Speaker 19 (01:43:14):
You're talking about your wife driving for you, right?

Speaker 1 (01:43:17):
Correct?

Speaker 19 (01:43:19):
Well, I my family doesn't like to arrive with me
because I say I fall asleep when I drive.

Speaker 12 (01:43:25):
Guess what I do?

Speaker 20 (01:43:26):
You do?

Speaker 19 (01:43:26):
I sleep and let I sleep and let them drive.

Speaker 1 (01:43:29):
Amen, switzero. Yeah done. I'll tell you what I tell
how it won't happen. I just won't drive. I just
y'all need me. I'm over here to sleep. Rick Birders
show unscreen phone calls go.

Speaker 20 (01:43:42):
Hey, I just uh good morning first, I think thank
you time.

Speaker 4 (01:43:47):
That's three all right?

Speaker 20 (01:43:49):
Oh well, I am uh calling about in this news
that there's going to be this tariff money spread out
mean two thousand dollars to everybody. Idea, Yes, the terrible
idea campaign against any government is trying to send us money.

Speaker 21 (01:44:11):
It has cost me way more.

Speaker 1 (01:44:15):
Nothing's free. I mean you're going thank you, Greg.

Speaker 17 (01:44:18):
You know that.

Speaker 1 (01:44:19):
I don't know how you're still, I really don't, but
thank you for that. It looks too good to be true.
It is no, you were He's one hundred percent right
on and you need to spitad it. You can go
sit in your office. Yeah wait, I'm afraid.

Speaker 4 (01:44:35):
You o the guys handicapped bathroom.

Speaker 1 (01:44:37):
Yeah, the man who said they had a really good bathroom,
I did. You're gonna have to get put in an
unscreen phone all time out. It's Greg. I get it.
Sometimes you uncontrollable. I think that's what it was.

Speaker 20 (01:44:48):
It was.

Speaker 1 (01:44:49):
I think in that case, I think I could have
had there's the obvious. I keep hearing no money about
our deficit, and we're in debt and nobody's got money,
and we ain't got this. We ain't got that. I
don't care how much revenue we're getting off terrafs. If
we got two thousand dollars lying around, we send everybody.

Speaker 12 (01:45:06):
I think.

Speaker 1 (01:45:07):
So, I think we're broke, aren't we. Yeah, I just
that's just that's just his way of saying, Hey, they're
bringing in money, they're working, and I got you. It's
a hard thing.

Speaker 12 (01:45:16):
I got you.

Speaker 1 (01:45:18):
But if they send it, I'll take Rick Burgess show
on screen phone back.

Speaker 12 (01:45:24):
I tell you that. Good morning, gentlemen.

Speaker 1 (01:45:27):
Did y'all see the Fox News headline over the weekend
that the acclaims comedian and actors Sindbad has now finaled
for bankruptcy for the third time. Really, he's got bad
health issues too.

Speaker 9 (01:45:39):
Oh yeah, that may be one I saw where we
also Trump was pardoning a bunch of folks and he
parted pardoned Darryl Strawberry.

Speaker 17 (01:45:47):
What was what was?

Speaker 1 (01:45:48):
What was drugs? Drugs? I don't know? Also, you know
I think it was. Did you did you see he
pardoned me for the food five nineteen? Did he really?
Finally Rick Birders show unscreen phone calls. Go ahead.

Speaker 19 (01:46:04):
I think y'all need to explain to Adler what urinals are.
He said he's never seen them in the bathroom, said
he goes in.

Speaker 1 (01:46:14):
That's good.

Speaker 6 (01:46:16):
I've never seen wheels. I've never seen wheels in the bathroom.
I see urinals because they're in the bathroom that I
can use.

Speaker 12 (01:46:23):
Buddy.

Speaker 6 (01:46:24):
Now, I do have this long hair that if I'm
in a pinch and I can go to another I
can go to the ladies restroom real easy.

Speaker 4 (01:46:31):
The okay, So dere Strawberry was it was tax evasion?

Speaker 1 (01:46:35):
Oh? I just saw the head the notification. Like what
he does? I know he goes around to addicts and stuff.
Did you know, said Speedy when he did what he
shouldn't done? He even did the face with it. Oh yeah,
it comes with it. About it. He transformed into it.
I was on control pretty much. Did you see what happened?
In fact, I'm kind of worried. I think he's a
shape shifter. That's so good. Rick Birders Show unscreenphone.

Speaker 16 (01:47:00):
Go ahead, Hey morning, Rick, heybody, Hey y'all. Well last
week when y'all talking about the Chinese afternauts got me
thinking about it. What's the g force going to do
to them when they take off to their.

Speaker 1 (01:47:15):
Don't laugh about I don't And that makes a point. Okay, Greg,
I'm just saying you're in it. That's something you're going
to deal with. I gotta get new friends. Greg Birder
show on streen phone calls, go ahead, Hey, where does
it say that Sindbad did that?

Speaker 19 (01:47:31):
I can't find any information on that.

Speaker 1 (01:47:34):
Yeah, I haven't either. Somebody just threw something. I mean somebody.
I do know he's having health problems. Yeah, we're great. Good,
that's not what the calls about. Yeah, indirectly, I know
you were keeping up with Sinbad's medical conditions. When did
you become with a movie and they gave him a
little part in it and he played like a handicapped
guy sitting in the front yard. Very small. Okay, Doctor Oz,
what show was it? All?

Speaker 22 (01:47:54):
Right?

Speaker 6 (01:47:55):
So he's he has filed in two thousand and nine
and twenty thirteen, did you good?

Speaker 4 (01:48:00):
Due to tax debts? So I guess he needs a
pardon like Darryl Strawberry.

Speaker 1 (01:48:03):
Well, somebody said he's done it again though. That's that's
what the guy was called about. That he's now fire
for a third time and we can't find anything. But
he's one of my favorite guests we've had in the studio.
Again to doctor Oz, he brought down the the incident
where the zimpics. He said, r K Jr.

Speaker 9 (01:48:18):
Didn't run off, okay, he looked like he was going
to get and he said that he was over in
the corner of the Oval office on the phone and
President Trump was like who you talking to?

Speaker 1 (01:48:29):
And it was the guy's wife ensuring her that he
was okay. Is he okay?

Speaker 12 (01:48:34):
And uh?

Speaker 1 (01:48:34):
And Trump grabbed the phone and talked to her and
okay and apparently, so what was wrong at that point?
You know, you see these folks when they stand for
a long time. Then he locked his knees out. Yeah,
oh you can't. Yeah, he was like that he went down,
go ahead and show us that too. Yeah, made fun

(01:48:55):
of that. I was calling it, but he was just standing.

Speaker 6 (01:48:59):
He's working at nothing down.

Speaker 1 (01:49:06):
Draws one over there, gout in what to talk about this?

Speaker 8 (01:49:09):

about you know we still have an admire is he
is he going to be calling? I guess next I
need to reach out to him because he said he
was going to holler at me. Another big tide win
over the weekend. But Greg, going back to going back

(01:50:23):
to our hometown, you know, it really is a struggle
when you go back in there. You know, this was
at Mount Zion in Alexandria, Alabama, in Calhoun County, and
this men's event had right around five hundred men. So
it's a lot of people coming at you like beards. Yes,
when you get to be I'm sixty one, you're fifty nine, right, yeah,

(01:50:47):
I'm fifty seven, You're not fifty seven fifty nine. When
you're like seeing somebody coming at you and like the
last time you saw this person, the oldest they could
have possibly been was eighteen, and they're coming at you
as a man in his late fifties or early sixties.
It is a strange your mind trying to figure out,

(01:51:08):
you know. And then there's people like you know, I
played Little League with you. Wow, you know I you
know it was it's and then what's odd is as
old as we get. Even when someone would finally get
when someone gives you the who they are and you
figure it out, all of a sudden, you can see

(01:51:29):
inside this older look there they are. There's there's that
and I do remember what you look like as a
little boy, even though you're standing here now with a
grown man. And I get it. People looking at me
and they're going, yep, I know that old guy used
to be Greg. Yeah, right, that old used to hear it.
And you know, there's just a number of people that
kept telling me how much older you looked at me.

(01:51:51):
Oh that's a fact, I mean. And I can't argue. Well,
I just I just please go tell Greg. That's I
can tell you. I got no wine. Please don't tell me,
Just tell Greg. But I know why I've said it
a thousand times because I had beautiful hair that and
becluse you've never had a real job, right, I actually
had a job one for a little while. Rick. It
wasn't six months. I rolled you right out of there.
Well wash, don't camp car was too much fun. You

(01:52:14):
fell asleep under the boxes of the UPS truck, Budd.
I remember when I had Rick, burchase was a work corse.
Elements elements of the car wash, No, not much. He
was over hiding the back for you, giving me a
freak car onak. What about preloader for ups? That's the
one that's the last Rick you got fired. Yeah, which

(01:52:37):
means you didn't put out. But how do you get fired?
You have to once to be there first. Yeah, well done.
Uh huh.

Speaker 9 (01:52:46):
I witnessed something in the break commercial break. We went
to go use the restroom.

Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (01:52:51):
And instead of walking through the halls, we did with
Adler does sometimes and that's go around the building.

Speaker 4 (01:52:56):
You gotta go the sunshine one.

Speaker 9 (01:52:57):
And the challenge to Greg was, let's see if we
can get around to the door and not be cold
by the time we get there. And he got about
fifteen steps in and he said, stop, wait a minute,
I gotta think warm.

Speaker 1 (01:53:08):
And and he put his hands down on armor. Is
that how you do it? Yeah, and he said starts
with the arms. It starts with the arms. And then
he went, okay, I got it, let's go. Yeah. The
time I got the door, I was sweating. Well, I
can't think warm. I told y'all that it's like a
Navy seal trick. Greg, why don't you text our mom
and teacher how to think warm her powers out?

Speaker 12 (01:53:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:53:30):
Maybe think really that needs to be what well, she says,
y'all should be there right now handling that we're gonna
we're gonna turn the power back home.

Speaker 1 (01:53:39):
Yeah, the power worked.

Speaker 16 (01:53:43):
You can't.

Speaker 1 (01:53:43):
You didn't just walk up and turn stuff on? Well
you could. M I won't have my long I'll tell
you one thing. She needs anything loaded in the back
of the truck, and I'll be able to do it. Well,
that's true. And I may go wash your car if
you had one when you run. You know y'all didn't
wash them. You watch them go through a car wash. Hey,
me and I always thought ups over overreacted a little bit.
I mean you fell asleep. I fell asleep in back

(01:54:05):
of one of the trucks that I was loading, like
one time. Yeah, of course they do have a commitment
to excellence. So it is not wasn't a good combination
when your work happy. I love the fact you got
boxes and put it all around him. Yeah, made him
look I was I was, I was snug. I got
in there. That's what it was. Fifteen minute breaking. It's
not good when you hear boxes falling around, people screaming,
and and I an olden line. And the guy that

(01:54:27):
was the boss on that shift, he called me Hoss
all the time. And you hear hey, Hoss, where are you?
And what you wake up? And you mom was waking
up and you've slappered on one of the packages that
you were doing. Where's there horse there? And you kind
of know that year it's not good. And then and

(01:54:48):
then of course I had to I remember you, I
was sleeping, waking up, panicing. It was like, way, what late?
Do you remember the brilliant move I did because you
were part of it when you had like you had
car troubles at the one. Yeah, I remember I stepped
my head out the window of our our bedground outside
and so you can hear outside, so I'm onside the
road I broke down. Yeah, and I remember that. And
I was just sticking my head out our window where

(01:55:09):
we spent our room. Greg grabbed the car. Hey, let
me tell how many times you can be you can
be like being a preloader, that'd be nine. Oh car
trouble you e't get one? Of course I was a liar.
Then I survived that, but then that sleepy I survived
that one, but fall asleep that one hurt. Yeah, it's hard,

(01:55:29):
you know what. Somebody getting out of that. Somebody right
now because one of the places that I preloaded for
was a place called Muskie Dying. AlOH, I've been there
many times. Musket Dyne, Alabama. There's somebody in Georgia right
now that's going. I wonder when that was. I remember
I got that bagge of slopped on it on it
some liquid inside, right.

Speaker 6 (01:55:47):
And when people call you hass it's usually like the
same thing as when people call you Einstein.

Speaker 4 (01:55:52):
They're not like, yeah, like hey Einstein, you're really smart.

Speaker 1 (01:55:56):
You know yeah, or hey Sport you know what Adler
you weren't even there, but it that way. Yeah, right,
hey's anybody seeing hoss Yeah, I see Hosse's box is
stacking up? Where is he? I hadn't seen him in
since the break? Somebody looking the trunk? There's his feet, right,
he ain't moving sleeping good too? Three forty five in

(01:56:18):
the morning. It's it's so ironic that I have to
get up at three fifteen now. But in those days,
every forty five in me just didn't work. No, In
those days, at the age we were, that was almost
we couldn't even comprehend how a human being would do that.
Now you're still up at three forty five from the
night before. Is that's one thing a ribbit? But you
actually arriving to a job I remember a ribb at

(01:56:39):
three forty five, belt starts at four and I and
I thought that I should get that job. Anyway, I
done's a good job. I don't remember. That's what mom
said when they've heard me. Yeah, And then I was like, well,
back to radio. She's like, oh my goodness, please get
a degree. It did, little did she know. And I've
become a sociologist. I'm sure what that is. I got

(01:57:02):
a degree in sociology. All right, So try to find
mad Mark. Let's we have. We haven't talked to him yet,
all right, all right, top of the hour.

Speaker 12 (01:57:12):
We'll be back.

Speaker 1 (01:57:14):
More of the Rick Bergner Show coming.

(01:58:41):
going to be fired up, right yep, yep, yep. You
wrote that there is right there.

Speaker 12 (01:58:49):
He cried and we wrote that.

Speaker 1 (01:58:54):
Oh my goodness, boy, he's really talking a different tomb
once we got rolling him, I mean.

Speaker 12 (01:59:00):
Rank number four. I wonder everybody feels doubt at Bama.
Didn't nobody saying we could do it?

Speaker 1 (01:59:06):
Nobody chance after week one, I never do really.

Speaker 12 (01:59:12):
Nobody believes in Bama. Everybody always underestimates us, and everybody
picking L. S U to gonna rise up. We're gonna
get behind a new guy. We got rid of broun Carry.
Now we got a little inde room coming in and
he's gonna inspire the boys to go out there and
be Bama, not at brightened any stadium. No, you never worried.

(01:59:34):
I never worried.

Speaker 13 (01:59:35):
Uh.

Speaker 12 (01:59:36):
The thing I was worried about is we'd be overlooking
L s Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:59:40):
That's true. Okay, I worried about that.

Speaker 12 (01:59:42):
But De bore an outstanding job, had had us ready
to play. We played good enough. We didn't show too.

Speaker 1 (01:59:47):
Much ever since the beginning, right, well, you.

Speaker 12 (01:59:52):
Know, I believed in the boor from the very beginning.
I got on him after the Florida State debacle, but
I knew that was his fault.

Speaker 1 (01:59:59):
Right, yeah, just never never in question, he might have
dropped that one on purpose just to get our.

Speaker 12 (02:00:04):
Body, you know, kind of well you're thinking like a
Bama fan, now, Gregory, that's the brands of Saban here.
Every now and then we drop one and we underperformed
just to kind of not to show our hand. We're
we're focused on the playoffs now we we uh, we're
gonna have to go rebuild everybody. Maybe in the championship

(02:00:25):
game today and him they were old saying him and
of course Bama will come in here and give him
a little spank. But then back where they belong when
we get our opportunity. The Sooners this coming up this weekend.
They showing some Oh we're got a little spark, We're
got a little spark, and of course we'll we'll resolve
that and that l Hu, it's embarrassing. What's happened to that?

(02:00:46):
Las Huston Saban left.

Speaker 1 (02:00:49):
Dicky, I just I love every here.

Speaker 9 (02:00:52):
Uh two thirty pm, kick ABC Oklahoma Sooners, As you said,
can they come to Tuscaloosa.

Speaker 1 (02:01:00):
That's an interesting matchup. I mean, I know you're not
looking past him, that's obvious.

Speaker 12 (02:01:04):
But there it wasn't much interesting about it. Well, I
mean well, I mean watching Obama went again that interest.
I mean, we enjoy it.

Speaker 1 (02:01:11):
Oklahom got a pretty good defense. Yeah, I went into
Knoxville and won.

Speaker 12 (02:01:15):
I mean I mean went and bit the sub parts
in the C team.

Speaker 1 (02:01:21):
Have you seen Aburn? Yeah?

Speaker 12 (02:01:23):
Oh, well, by the way, have I seen this douts
coaching Auburn? Dookie? DJ Dookie? Have you seen what's up?
What are you laughing at?

Speaker 1 (02:01:35):
He looks like he's smiling all the time, even though
he's not.

Speaker 12 (02:01:39):
It looks kind of like, well, Phillips Phyllis kept looking
at me and cheating, Dicky. How come how come Olburn's
little interim? Little DJ Dookie? Why is he granted all
the time? And I said, you're misinterpreted in that, Phillips.
That's that's not a grin, it's almost a grimace. Have
you ever seen somebody get that look on the face,
almost like a gass or something. Are they holding one

(02:01:59):
and then and they just got a new look on
his face. And what it is is anytime you're coaching
Alburn your face is a grimace the entire time. No
Alburn football nearly kill these threes.

Speaker 1 (02:02:10):
Yeah, yeah, yeah I think it did.

Speaker 12 (02:02:12):
I mean near killed the poor man.

Speaker 1 (02:02:14):
Yeah, I have to agree with you and yeah he
bless his heart.

Speaker 12 (02:02:17):
Yeah, anybody, if you ever have to coach Auburn, you
better be in good health because they'll try to kill you.

Speaker 1 (02:02:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (02:02:25):
Yeah, So we got Oklahoma, Uh then then then Missouri.
Uh no, I'm sorry, Oklahoma's Missouri.

Speaker 1 (02:02:32):
That's on me.

Speaker 9 (02:02:33):
Uh So we got right now, you're hosting Oklahoma two thirty.
Then you got Eastern Illinois. Then you got the Iron Bull.
Oh yeah, so I mean I know you the next
couple of weeks. I mean, after coming off this big weekend,
UH hosting l s U, you got to be kind
of pumped the nad.

Speaker 1 (02:02:49):
My family has to be fired up.

Speaker 12 (02:02:50):
Whether an admirer, living hound the hog, hown the hog.
And we usually knew if you I'm a fan, because
we know we're gonna end up this year in the playoff.
Last year we got robbed, cheated because if people can
keep Bathma out, they're going to But this year, we
don't give ain't no reason they can't keep Bathma out.
We're gonna run the table, We're gonna reveal at him

(02:03:13):
as a pretender, and then we're gonna walk into that playoff.
Probably the walking.

Speaker 1 (02:03:17):
Dog is coming together. That's that's what you're saying.

Speaker 12 (02:03:21):
Master Plan never doubted. Nobody believed Dennis. Nobody believed Dennis.
Everybody in the media is against this. Nobody believes in
his breath, try to cheat us. But but we just
overcome with Bama.

Speaker 1 (02:03:32):
Well that well, now that Urn Bow, you know how,
that'll be the season for Auburn. So they gonna bring
their best game.

Speaker 12 (02:03:43):
By the time we get to the Oron Bowl. I mean,
I hate to break this to Auburn fan because you
know I hate hurt their feelings. Great that include you,
young Adler. Thank you of course rigged my my daddy
and my boy playing for him. Let me then we
just make this clear. By the time we get to
the Iron Boat, Alburn may not even have any players,

(02:04:05):
I mean, anybody on their city. Cown's gonna get that portal,
go find somewhere else to play.

Speaker 1 (02:04:09):
Roddie, I haven't heard you this confident in a long time.

Speaker 12 (02:04:16):
Well, it feels good, I said, it's great to be
for Bama. I mean, I mean, as I say every week,
Rama Yama Yellowhammer. Looking at the top, there's Balla. It
wouldn't even surprise me. I might have to break his
to the offices and and I think even their weird
coach DJ Nook, you won't even smile about that.

Speaker 4 (02:04:34):
It's not his name.

Speaker 12 (02:04:36):
I believed. I believe the Coleman kid will play for
Bama and Iron Boat. He come play for us in
a week or so. When you play for Bama if
you had to stay at Alburn? Now, what if you
were free right now to play for Auburn or play
for Bama?

Speaker 1 (02:04:56):
Is acting me? I'd go with Alburn.

Speaker 12 (02:05:00):
Over because he played their Well why would you go
to op?

Speaker 1 (02:05:04):
Because I think they turned it around?

Speaker 12 (02:05:09):
Dj new K, don't the one follow turn around? Did
y'all feel bad for unless you a little bit?

Speaker 1 (02:05:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 12 (02:05:19):
Starting quarterback out, Well, well, I'm gonna pass on the NFL.
I'm the quarterback in there unless you I'm gonna stay
and come back win championship. Brian Kelly guarantee the championship
on Hassi Meyer, I'm gonna stick around. I'm gonna play
a little longer. How much money do you think Hassabar
is lost by staying this.

Speaker 17 (02:05:39):
Year A lot.

Speaker 1 (02:05:41):
Well, I don't know what l s. Yeah, there's that
you do have that well, I.

Speaker 12 (02:05:46):
Mean unless he's paying him, but I mean his NFL money,
it's gonna be pretty How much long can he stay?
What do you think he is? The little Mexican.

Speaker 1 (02:05:51):
Bobier year seven?

Speaker 2 (02:05:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:05:55):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 12 (02:05:56):
I mean what I mean, I may not pobbiate. It's
it's almost like it with something that's going on out there.
I mean, we we're letting the little old man play
college football. It's weird.

Speaker 1 (02:06:07):
He's pretty good, yes, he is.

Speaker 22 (02:06:08):
He?

Speaker 1 (02:06:09):
Uh wait? Was that three three wins over Auburn in
his career? Yeah, he was asked that. He was asked
that question and he said, uh.

Speaker 12 (02:06:17):
Let me tell you how that Auburn is. They can't
even be a poppy. When he played for Mexico, that okay,
that was New Mexico.

Speaker 1 (02:06:24):
Yeah, I didn't was It wasn't Mexico.

Speaker 12 (02:06:27):
That was in Mexico, buddy boy, Mexican not in the name.

Speaker 1 (02:06:31):
Right yeah? Yeah yeah yeah right, you.

Speaker 12 (02:06:34):
Old middle what the age to Mexico whatever, it's.

Speaker 1 (02:06:37):
Mexico to Mexico. Yeah, I can't argue with I.

Speaker 12 (02:06:40):
Don't even know why we got a Mexican team in
the league. I don't understand. So did they good at soccer?

Speaker 1 (02:06:48):
Yeah? Oh no, they are good at So did you
are you holding your r V spot? Since I mean
you're going to be there again?

Speaker 12 (02:06:53):
This way to move? Need to move?

Speaker 1 (02:06:56):
Okay, You're just gonna stay there all week, celebrate.

Speaker 12 (02:06:59):
Another dugre Get ready for the Sooners to come on in.
Oh look, we're at White Obama. They don't play baba.

Speaker 1 (02:07:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (02:07:05):
Yeah, I guess that's different.

Speaker 9 (02:07:07):
I know you're living off disability, so I guess the
government shutdown you hadn't been affected by that, hadn't been.

Speaker 12 (02:07:14):
Affected by that. Still get my chick and I'd love
to be out there working, but you know, with the injury,
you just can't do it.

Speaker 1 (02:07:20):
Uh yeah, And plus cuts into your ball game.

Speaker 12 (02:07:23):
Yeah, yes it does.

Speaker 1 (02:07:24):
And we get the best toilet, the best toilet. Uh So,
let me ask you a question outside of Alabama and
then we'll let you go. George's host in Texas. What
do you think about that one?

Speaker 12 (02:07:36):
Well, Kirby smart, you know you always going where the
BAMA coach is.

Speaker 1 (02:07:39):
Oh well, but Texas was a Texas at Alabama too.

Speaker 12 (02:07:43):
It's Bama against Obama, but Kirby was more loyal. We
basically bought sark In as part of an AA program.

Speaker 1 (02:07:52):
Tonight there it is.

Speaker 12 (02:07:56):
How about this coaching Obama? So good and even sober
an alcoholic?

Speaker 1 (02:08:01):
Hey, hey, hey on fire, did a good one there, well,
enjoyed Tuscaloosa. Just hanging out and boy yeah Brota all right,
but watch out this week and never doubt if he's
never Thanks Dicky heks, Dicky Wow, look all right, we'll

(02:08:24):
be right back.

Speaker 8 (02:08:28):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who shaved
thirty minutes off his last road trip.

Speaker 12 (02:08:46):
Rick witches.

Speaker 1 (02:08:51):
All right, thanks for being with us today, America. Good
to hear from Dickie today. We are sounding confident, didn't.
You're living a life, living the life. We'll see how
it goes. Hey, can I let you in a couple
of things going on? If you're up in beautiful beautiful Henderson, Tennessee.
Up there, what a wonderful.

Speaker 4 (02:09:10):
Part of the world.

Speaker 1 (02:09:12):
We have been involved there with the Manchurch dot Com
for many years and oh ed Edward Jones there always
always just updating us on how that has radically changed
the church. And then last year they branched out said,
let's go to Williams Auditorium and have a community wide
men's conference with some of our speakers, and Blake Prime

(02:09:34):
and I were there last year and this year they're
doing it again this weekend. Are actually this week coming
up on the thirteenth, which I think is Thursday, right Thursday. Yeah,
Williams Auditorium, Henderson, Tennessee. Scott Dawson and Tony Cooper will
be there, so fellas in that area if you want
to be there, tickets are available. We have the link

(02:09:55):
for you coming up there at the Manchurch dot com.
On the twentieth of no November, I'll be at my
home church, Valleydale Church, Birmingham, Alabama. It is the annual
Chili cook Off. Watch it. I mean usually about thirty chilies.
Always be leary of the one that wins most unique,

(02:10:15):
but we will enjoy the chili cookoff. Matter of fact,
we have room for as of Sunday. We have seven
slots if you want to bring your chili, but we
need to know about it. Chili cook It's free, ement
just come on. I'll be speaking that night, looking forward
to that. We'll have great praise and worship in one
joy from fellowship time together over chili and then when
we all go make a joyful noise, as Jerald Kaye says.

(02:10:38):
So that's on the twentieth of November. All that can
be found at the Manchurch dot com. A couple of
things to touch on that we haven't hit on today.
Did you see the wild footage? Adler? Let's look at
the twelves here? Did you see the wild footage? Speaking
of college football Bethune Cookman and Grambling State. Pretty big.

(02:11:01):
I mean this was a brawl brawl I mean, Greg,
I mean, I'm not not a slight brawl, a full brawl.
And then uh, and then we've got we have Mickey Joseph,
who's the head football coach at Grambling, make a comment
about it. Here's the fight first, so you see this,
I mean this is this is full blown. It's all

(02:11:23):
out and now everybody's got their helmets on. One guy's
helmet there's a helmet off. You know he got did
you see the butt?

Speaker 9 (02:11:32):
Yeah, then he goes to the ground and hopefully he
got out of it. Okay, the lady of the audio
with this, a lot of it you can't play, but
at the very end she says basically, my baby better
not being this, and then she realizes he wasn't.

Speaker 1 (02:11:44):
She went okay, good, Really did I play that or
no language? Too much language, it's it's a little bit
of it. It's all over the place. Did you see
the helmet going the stands? Yeah, yeah, that could have
hit somebody that Yeah, it was a control He should
have had his helmet on. He really should have a
little out of control people your helmet a few minutes. Yeah,
but that one helmet that flew in the stands, I

(02:12:05):
could have hit somebody. Yeah. So we now have the
quote wow from Grambling, good one, and he seems to
be saying that Bethune Cook had it coming because the
way they acted.

Speaker 4 (02:12:20):
Uh so, so here it is still got the fight
rolling home.

Speaker 1 (02:12:24):
Oh I'm sorry now, my man. Man, Yeah, there's multiple windows.
See if you hear the same thing I'm hearing in
this quote that he's saying, well, I mean you got
what you asked for, hm hm, And so that that
I understand what he's saying, but I'm not sure this
is but we'll see.

Speaker 22 (02:12:41):
You got to make sure, as a coach, supports staff anybody,
that all your players come down. If you if you're
going to walk down there and take your time. And
now it's three minutes, three minutes and thirty seconds on
the clock, and we standing on the stairs and you
got four or five kids who's just walking down taking
their time. Listen to at the end of the day,

(02:13:02):
I'm thinking like, well, they know what they're doing. They
taking their time. So we're trying to give them the respect.
So by the time we we gotta go, we can't
wait on two players. But they should never leave their players.
Who leaves they players, who leaves they players over there
knowing that we gotta come down.

Speaker 1 (02:13:19):
You see.

Speaker 22 (02:13:19):
That's what I'm talking about. That that's the disrespect stuff.
And we're not gonna tolerate disrespect here at Gramlin. You
won't disrespect us. Were gonna meet disrespect with disrespect because
be responsible. Get your kids out of the locker room,
make them get to the field. They came down on
the field, they walked on a field. That's disrespecting the game,
first of all. So that's my perspective. And I told

(02:13:42):
them after the game, I said, you can't leave your
kids up there. You can't leave your kids up there.

Speaker 2 (02:13:47):
So we talked.

Speaker 22 (02:13:48):
You know, I know we're gonna hear you know, I'm
here from my AD. I'll talk to my ID, he'll
talk to his add And you know I told him,
I said, you know, if they if they find us,
then you know what, where'd you pay?

Speaker 1 (02:14:01):
No, I can't understand what this is. That sounds like
to me that you know how he said, you know
they your team goes on the field, and then we
got to get on the field, and you had scragglers
that you didn't that didn't go with the team. Me
telling was the time for the game to start? Yeah,
it was the second half. Yes, it says here count

(02:14:21):
I thought he was talking about the time left in
the game. No, No, he was saying, we're trying to
get on the field after halftime. Feel get your get out.
You got stragglers hanging behind blocking us from getting on
the field. We're gonna come on the field. We gotta
start the second half. And if and if you can't
get your players, I said, over to your sideline and
get them out of the way. And they they stand
in the middle of our guys and and they're showing disrespect.
They're gonna get disrespect back. That's yes, your respect. You

(02:14:45):
created this. Wow, but I understand that I do. But
but I think there's also a responsibility that you don't
let your team you know this, I respond, we respond
with disrespect, with disrespect. I think I would have said, look,
what you did was disrespectful. But I got to teach
my guys that we don't lower ourself to y'all.

Speaker 9 (02:15:06):
That line that would probably be a better probably. So
we had nine ejected five from Grambling. Uh, we had
four from Betheune Cookman and a lengthy delay. So the
rosters were a little thin and started back umbling ended
up winning.

Speaker 1 (02:15:22):
Yeah, they were. You know, we we only had one
thing when we played for Dad. It was different playing
for other people, but playing for Dad. His deal was
you don't get involved in any of this. The only
time that you had a license to fight was if
you were in a hostile environment where fans had come
on the field. We're threatening you, we're throwing rocks, that

(02:15:43):
kind of stuff. And then he said, you know, buckle
your chin strap, get your helmet on, and just fight
your way to the bus and do whatever you gotta
do to get there. Yeah, and he said we had
to wait on a signal. Though he would he would
he would do the signal, and he said, if I
do the signal, then you just whip people's rear ends
all the way to bus. But put your help, put
your helmet on, keep keep your helping on. We'll be back.

(02:16:06):

Speaker 9 (02:18:23):
Get on the airlines a lot around here, and you
want to change them, you want to change them, just
give it, Just stand it over to me. Friday, when
JC and his buddy Coulson were coming back from Tokyo.

Speaker 1 (02:18:35):
They were going through.

Speaker 9 (02:18:36):
Dallas and there was a little bit of it a layover,
but the whole time, you know, Uh, I don't know.
If you go back to Friday morning, the big news
was cancelations around the country at all kinds of airports
and the big the big topic was hey, you're getting
notification if your flight has been canceled. But you know,

(02:18:58):
and then it went on which is by subject and
Dallas does have a reputation being behind.

Speaker 1 (02:19:04):
And been trapped there. I've been drapped there myself. Yeah,
more than once.

Speaker 4 (02:19:08):
Yes, obviously it slept there last year.

Speaker 1 (02:19:11):
Yeah, you did, I remember that and it spent nine hours. Yeah,
slept My slept there one time. Had nothing to do
with the fly, just was there. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (02:19:21):
And then and then it like pictures start showing up
around the country of lines going outside trying to get
through TSA and all this kind of stuff, and it's
just like good night. And so we were texting with
JC before he left, and I said, hey, I know
you're full, you know Japanese and all this, but what's
going on here in this country is a mess, and

(02:19:43):
this is what you're getting into to just you know,
beware son.

Speaker 1 (02:19:47):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (02:19:47):
And then and then we got notification he had landed,
and that's good, that's awesome. But then my phone rings
about forty minutes later, and I was like, well, that's weird,
and it's him, Hey, what's up, god boy, you ain't
gonna believe this, And I'm thinking he's driving back from Dallas.
They just canceled as like yeah, and he said, uh,
can't get my bags.

Speaker 1 (02:20:08):
I said, what do you mean? You can't get your bags?

Speaker 9 (02:20:11):
And he had never flown internationally, so he didn't realize that.
Probably was asleep or something when they announced it, because
I'm sure they did, uh that whenever you land from
an international flight you have to get go to baggage
claim and get given your check baggage and then go
through customs and TSA do all that over again.

Speaker 1 (02:20:30):
And he missed that memo. Oh so he's just you know,
he's toodling along him and Coulson and you do do
do you?

Speaker 9 (02:20:36):
And they get past certain checkpoints and then they realized, wait,
we got to go back and get our luck and
they wouldn't let him back through the security.

Speaker 1 (02:20:43):
Oh so now he didn't have his bag, you can
see him nothing.

Speaker 9 (02:20:49):
Oh yeah, And he's like, so I'm going through TSA
and hey, I gotta let you go. I apologize. I'm
getting pulled in and all this stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:20:58):
So he let me go.

Speaker 9 (02:20:59):
So he calls me back and I said, well, look,
it's all about who you get. And I think we
can all from you from a drive through to an
an airline agent. It's all about who you get, it is, okay,
And and uh, the first person he asked about claimed
that he had to go to Lost and Found and

(02:21:21):
issue an official blah blah blah blah, and you'll end
up getting it. It might be it's just doomsday, you know,
and it's like, just get to where you're going and
find another airline agent or whatever and just see if
they'll show you favor and just maybe be inquisitive about
what to do. Don't don't be a bit but you know, hey,
I'm in a handle.

Speaker 1 (02:21:39):
And uh, and so he did. And you just say
to your son in Dallas Fort Worth, Yeah, don't be
a handle. But again, don't be a bit, right, okay,
which is good advice. Yeah, I mean, don't go you
know what I mean, because you know, they deal with
stuff all the time and had these agents. You know,
half of them don't care, but there's some that do.
Every now and then, Yeah, don't don't don't be don't

(02:22:01):
be demanding things. Don't be just I mean, follow on
the mercy of the situation. Yeah, yeah, maybe they'll have
some empathy for you and baby maybe and so uh
so he does and the person they were very kind
and which is is nice. It was a surprise it
wouldn't to be. So they said, hey, I'm going to
do some things whatever.

Speaker 9 (02:22:20):
So his phone rings a little bit after talking to
that person and hey is this Uh is this mister Wilburn?

Speaker 1 (02:22:25):
Yes it is. Hey, Uh, I've got two bags here
is you know, uh.

Speaker 9 (02:22:31):
You know, and gives the information, describes the bags, and
he goes, oh, yeah, those are our bags.

Speaker 1 (02:22:36):
But can you come back and get them?

Speaker 9 (02:22:38):
He said, well, we were instructed that we couldn't, and
to move on to so we've we're on the little
transport train or whatever and and and we're gone. I mean,
we're so far from there. I don't know that I can.
And and I want to tell you. This person said,
I tell you what. I see where you're going. I
know what's going on.

Speaker 1 (02:22:56):
We're going to get these through customs and they're we're
going to get them on the plane for you what
And he was like, are you serious? One employee, Yeah,
should never happen, and I never and and I said,
are you kidding?

Speaker 8 (02:23:08):
Son?

Speaker 1 (02:23:08):
He goes no, and uh and so he never saw
him saying look customer service. Yeah. And so they they
lift off.

Speaker 9 (02:23:14):
Apparently they were a little heavy, so they had to
burn some fuel, which which you know, got him behind
a little bit. But the pilot said, hey, we're going
to make up some time, and they landed on time
in Birmingham. But the big gamble was when we go
down to baggage, claimed is really there? Did they just
promise at least you're home?

Speaker 1 (02:23:32):
Yeah? And uh and sure enough they come rolling around
and there's there's this believable uh so, kudos to whatever
American airline agent that was. How about that you showed
somebody favor? And did you you know who showed j
C favor?

Speaker 12 (02:23:46):
Was God?

Speaker 1 (02:23:47):
Amen, that's you, that's you and mama's prayers. Yeah. Amen.
And so we're we're at the you know, the mobile
parking and that's where you go to a little parking
lot and and then you could they you can get
a call from who whoever you're waiting on, or or
a text, hey we'll get where got our baggage. We're
walking out and then you just pull around the corner
and you pick them up and go. And of course
they were worn out, but he's still sleep. Yeah, they

(02:24:10):
made it back, and it's just crazy.

Speaker 13 (02:24:13):
Was it?

Speaker 12 (02:24:13):
What is?

Speaker 1 (02:24:14):
Was it? Everything? He thought? Yes? What incredible?

Speaker 9 (02:24:17):
He's he hadn't even scratched the surface of telling us
everything he's seeing and showing us pictures.

Speaker 1 (02:24:21):
But they had a they had a blast.

Speaker 9 (02:24:24):
But I saw where it looks like some of the
Dems caved and we're on the way of getting this
government back and open.

Speaker 3 (02:24:30):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (02:24:31):
And at least this was the first process, I think yesterday.
So that's a positive. But for right now, man, these
airlines there's people, they're struggling.

Speaker 1 (02:24:41):
You know, I will tell you if you've never flown international,
of course I've been a few places.

Speaker 12 (02:24:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:24:45):
Uh, if you've never flown international, that is the thing
that will trip you up. And I have to remember
it every time because you've already gone through customs once.
But would you have to do it again? You mean
you've got to go to baggage claim, get your baggage
like that's where you're you're loading it, and then right
through again and then and it's so easy to overlook
that and if you've never done it, it could really

(02:25:06):
throw you. Yes, he said.

Speaker 9 (02:25:08):
He was sitting next to on the way back, which
was you know, the ten to twelve thirteen hour flight whatever.
He was sitting next to this little Japanese lady. She's
just tiniest little thing, and they struck up conversation, but
she kept falling asleep with a heavy head, and she
would get that heavy head and they.

Speaker 1 (02:25:24):
Would just not fall over on him. He's so sleepy
on his shoulder, and he didn't want to move because
she said she was sleeping so good, and so for
half the flight she slept on it.

Speaker 4 (02:25:36):
I keep falling on your very muscular arm.

Speaker 1 (02:25:44):
Oh my goodness. But he was surprised how many people
smoke in Japan. Oh yeah, oh Asians. They have not
been smoking chimney the old people, he said. But the
Asians lived forever. They even even hooking can't take. He said,
I got announced to everybody when we opened my bags.
It's gonna smell like a bar. But I was not okay,

(02:26:07):
he said, it's everywhere, and it's not that they smoked
like they're just out smoking at the table.

Speaker 9 (02:26:13):
Everything has designated areas, he said. The people just just
smoking like you couldn't believe.

Speaker 4 (02:26:20):
They'll squat and smoke.

Speaker 1 (02:26:21):
Yes, they will like a ketcher, like on their heels
up against like up against the wall like this like this.
Oh yeah, you remember at that restaurant that was beside us.
That's what they would do. You remember at the studio,
you come out there be up against the wall burning one.
I put my head on your shoulder. You'll sure have

(02:26:44):
filled up volcano like onion, a volcano. Ja really wants
this gun?

Speaker 9 (02:26:55):
Well, he said he had a T shirt on it,
I mean light got cold, and he had a hoodie
in his carry on.

Speaker 1 (02:27:00):
But she was asleep on his shoulder. So he didn't
want to like wake her up because she was She
kept falling, so he said, he said, have to flight.
He was freezing but circulated.

Speaker 9 (02:27:12):
He could have said, well, because you you were sweet
to her, The mean line agent was sweet.

Speaker 1 (02:27:17):
He could have snuggled her and got warm.

Speaker 8 (02:27:19):

Speaker 16 (02:29:21):
The Tyler Perry movie that had Sinbad is called Straw.

Speaker 1 (02:29:27):
I saw that. Yeah, Yeah, that's a pretty good chock.
That's the one you said he looked like he had
bad health, but yeah, actually playing Yeah, and he really
does have about it And he didn't really have a role.
He was just like in the scene sitting there, he's
supposed to be like begging for money, and that was it.
He might have a couple of lines.

Speaker 12 (02:29:42):
Maybe.

Speaker 1 (02:29:42):
No, by the way, it's it's the other guy where
it is? What's that comedian? Is he ever gonna build
his version of taller Perry Williams Cat Williams out at
Fort mcle That was the rumor? Is that maybe one
of them things that never I heard a murmur campaign
about it? Again? Yes, Sue Rick Burgess show, he's a
strange one. There's no telling what he's doing. I don't

(02:30:03):
I'm not familiar with him.

Speaker 12 (02:30:04):
Oh.

Speaker 1 (02:30:05):
Rick Burgess Show on screen phone calls, go ahead, Hey.

Speaker 21 (02:30:09):
Rick, uh and Greg, this is Burke. I'm living Leeds.
But I was first introduced to you guys back in
ninety four when your grandmother, Margaret Burgess joined our church
at Mitfield.

Speaker 1 (02:30:24):
Oh yes, oh yeah, and.

Speaker 21 (02:30:27):
Uh I had the honor of being her music minister
for several years.

Speaker 1 (02:30:31):
She'll sing loud, not on key, but she'll.

Speaker 21 (02:30:38):
She's sang in my choir and just just had a
joy knowing her. And but she introduced me to you guys,
so I always will you know, consider that to be
an honor.

Speaker 1 (02:30:49):
Well, thank you. Yeah. I talked about her when I
was teaching Sunday school yesterday, about lady man. You go
all over this this part of the country, and people
know us better as Mark Rich grandsons than anything else
because we've heard it how many times, Greg, you're your
your your grandma Sunday scoot teacher. Yeah, your me mam
was my son's scoot teacher. Your mem led me to Christ.

(02:31:09):
Your me mall was helping with the young people, she
called him, which was the youth. Uh with something now
again she she she was joyfully inter singing, but she
was well, but you know what you could hear, you
could hear, you could hear how off you off close?
Like you when you thought you sounded good? Now okay,
I think to her nose. Then uh, huh A little bit.

Speaker 17 (02:31:31):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:31:31):
Somebody said there already that the Cat Williams thing is
happening at the fort Rick Burgers. It's an interesting guy. Yeah,
unscreen phone calls, go ahead, Hey.

Speaker 15 (02:31:41):
Rick, at your buddy Jayson from Friday night. I just
wanted to thank you for bringing the word and everything.

Speaker 10 (02:31:47):
I know.

Speaker 15 (02:31:47):
It was exactly what I needed to hear, and it
really kicked off one heck of a revival.

Speaker 1 (02:31:53):
Yeah, you know, I'm waiting to hear from my brother
in law. How did the rest of the weekend go? Well?

Speaker 15 (02:31:58):
I wasn't able to be there Sunday, but Saturday night
we still had a real good crowd. You know, the
spirit really moved it was.

Speaker 1 (02:32:05):
It was absolutely wonderful. You know, how was it for
you when I was having to preach under the brush arbor.

Speaker 12 (02:32:12):
On the rock?

Speaker 1 (02:32:13):
You know, it wasn't it. It wasn't completely flat. And
when you were up there picking, would you feel stable?

Speaker 2 (02:32:19):
Well?

Speaker 15 (02:32:20):
I gotta say them lou Casey boots were not the
best choice.

Speaker 12 (02:32:23):
No, I didn't.

Speaker 1 (02:32:26):
I told you guys, when you brought out the banjo,
I knew you meant business.

Speaker 20 (02:32:29):
Here you go.

Speaker 15 (02:32:31):
I definitely moved it down. How did it feel for
you to sign a banjo for the first time.

Speaker 1 (02:32:34):
It felt great, you know. Well, Sherry was like, you
don't need to sign a banjo from the twenties. Yeah,
And I said, well, Jason wants me to agree with
she signed that banjo, Well, he asked me to. And uh,
I should have got one in like Kmartin got and
sign in Jason. But I thought, I thought, based on
the decision that you made that night, that was the

(02:32:55):
perfect verse. That's that's when Paul is saying that he
didn't consider his life of any value you if he
doesn't complete the ministry that he was given by Christ.
So that that's uh a lot to me.

Speaker 15 (02:33:08):
And and and like I said, I went home of
course read that and it you know, it just it
moved me. And I thank you for for you know,
preaching life into the ministry.

Speaker 1 (02:33:19):
I have to come well, thanks man, it was an
honor to be with you. It was a special night.
Rick Burdess Show, unstream phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 17 (02:33:27):
It's going on, boys, Just Big Tate called in for you. Then,
come on, t I've been hanging out not doing nothing.
It is cold to print and tupews a cold doing.

Speaker 1 (02:33:39):
That by by Bama by Bama standards. Yes, says thirty
two feels like twenty three, so just call it. Yeah, yeah,
we got cold. So you know us deep South, we
don't do well with it.

Speaker 17 (02:33:51):
I don't know her up here. It's about seventeen up here,
so h But anyway, I got a bone to pick
with college fo ball, NFL football. I'm sure greg Or
be with you on this. There's anybody sick and tired
of every time they get an inner six and they
have to run down to the other end of the
ends on that like they've worn the Super Bowl. Yes,

(02:34:14):
they'd be down by forty or fifty, get a sack,
and I'm thinking.

Speaker 1 (02:34:20):
Really, I agree, I agree, I agree with you. It's
it's ridiculous. I like them run off, they slam dunk
on basketball, put on some kind of weird shoulder pads,
and then nothing ever happens. You know what I'm saying.
It ain't like you just scored. You know, I got
a turnover, which is nice, and let's see how that
plays out. Like like Tate, who Tate, I like to

(02:34:41):
see you one more cup of coffee, but yeah, maybe,
but come down And that's right. You know, it's ah,
but you know, I wouldn't promote speed. That's probably not
the way to go. But now, but the black coffee, Yeah,
just some black coffee, Just maybe one more cup. I know,
you just getting started, you ramping up a little bit,
and I'm on this cold it's called you like you
like it old hunting doll. It was cold, and he's
not ready to get out there yet. Yeah, you remember

(02:35:03):
hundred dollars when they were colding. I don't know, butbou
it wouldn't come out of the house.

Speaker 9 (02:35:06):
I did ask Greg if he if he knew if
somebody said, uh, the biggest buck you've ever seen is
going to come walk through the bottom of this holler
right here in an hour and a half and it's
as cold as it is now, and they put you
on a ladder stand with nothing but what you have on?

Speaker 12 (02:35:20):
Now?

Speaker 1 (02:35:21):
Could you sit there an hour and a half hour
and a half and you know what's a bad part?
I probably miss being negative, but I'm just saying that'd
be my luck. Afraid I miss it. Yeah, you'd handle
the physical parts. Yeah, yeah, I couldn't get it done
cold at the time, he was pretty cold, and he
said I would attempt it I would attempt. That's why

(02:35:42):
I'm calling those dose only open the day to see
if her guns are on? Yes, and if we missed
one sided mind him, you hadn't sighted your guns and no,
that's how you know what they're on? Rick, Why you
just popping Doe and how.

Speaker 8 (02:35:54):
He was The Rick Burgess Show, America. Are you ready
for more of the Rick Burgess Show?

Speaker 1 (02:36:16):
Are you? Well, let's go there, let's go. We got
a lot to do this hour. If you missed earlier
in the show, well you missed weekend recaps, Personal weekend recap.
You missed Nicky Nadmire. We've talked with Nicky uh and uh.

(02:36:36):
He sounded confident and sees Bama going all the way
and he says nobody believes in them. Nobody he's believed
in on the whole season, even after the Florida States.
Oh yeah, he said, you know he stood up for
the bar if we remember right, Yeah, I don't remember that.
I don't remember that way at all. The gang's all here,
and we thank you for being here. Come on, we

(02:36:57):
all know this, Okay, we know that.

Speaker 12 (02:37:01):
What do we know?

Speaker 1 (02:37:01):
I know this for a fact because I even know
people in the industry and you've heard even Spin address it.
The weather industry. They've all become a bunch of drama queens. Okay,
you know, nothing is just weather anymore. It's it's it's
it's it's extreme, it's whatever. And I want to ask
you a specific question. And if I'm wrong, I'll just

(02:37:22):
say i'm wrong. I probably should talk to Spain because
I don't know why. I think y'all know. But for
some reason, especially Speedy and Adler, there's a chance they'll know. Greg,
you won't because.

Speaker 12 (02:37:31):
You're like me.

Speaker 1 (02:37:31):
You probably just so because everything has to be dramatic.

Speaker 3 (02:37:36):
Now.

Speaker 1 (02:37:36):
It can't just be cold. It's got to be an
arctic blast. I mean, it's in you know, chrise you.
I don't know if you'll know this. It gets cold.
It has gotten cold a lot in late fall, you know,
you know where even where we live it's it's been cold. Yeah.
So I remember when the first time arctic blast was used,
it was like something. It was like a it was

(02:37:59):
like but I'm talking about it was it was almost
treated like a phenomenon that comes around every now and
then I've noticed we're we're using the word arctic blast
every year. Now here's an Arctic blast. Is it an
Arctic blast or has it just? I mean, is this
really something unique? Or is this because I remember the
first time Arctic blast was presented, probably there was no

(02:38:22):
such a thing. No, there was no such thing as
an Arctic blast. And I remember the first time it
came on the scene was about three winters ago, and
it was supposed to be like a phenomenon, meaning we
got temperatures over our longer period of time that we
in the Deep South normally don't experience for so long.
Remember that's where we ended up with that ice problem
because it had been below freezing for a long time

(02:38:45):
and just a little bit of moisture caused a big problem.
But I'm noticing now every year they're throwing out Arctic
blast anytime it gets cold. Arctic blast is is this
is this weather drama trying to create headlines and clicks.
Are is Arctic blast different than hey, it's gonna be cold? Well,
you know that's a great question, Rick.

Speaker 4 (02:39:06):
Now it's the source I think of the cold.

Speaker 9 (02:39:09):
Right because you see that when you see the jet
stream thing and whatever it's called, it comes, it's coming
from the Arctic and it's coming way.

Speaker 1 (02:39:16):
But this need the term. Maybe maybe they called it
something else when we were younger.

Speaker 6 (02:39:22):
I think it's technically a polar vortex, but Arctic blast
sounds better for clicks.

Speaker 1 (02:39:30):
I think I think it's weather. People trying to be sharp,
could be I mean, like what I'm saying is and
when it gets cold, isn't it always from the Arctic?
Don't we get cold weather from the Arctic? Everywhere? Does
it come from? Yeah, the Arctic blasts? Well this is
this is the Canadian or is Arctic blast some sort
of weather, like I said, phenomenon.

Speaker 4 (02:39:50):
I think it's the pressure. I think it has something
to do with the pressure and.

Speaker 1 (02:39:53):
A lot of that up next week, you know, used
to be next week gonna get below freezing for the
first time, we have a first frost and with the wind,
it's gonna we're gonna some some uh you know, some
windshield factors that are gonna be But now now it's like.

Speaker 14 (02:40:04):
Next week Arctic blast. Yeah, extreme Arctic blast. It's just
like Arctic fart the way. Well, I love when the
Alberta clipper.

Speaker 1 (02:40:15):
Oh yeah, the news people like there's a front start
say Texas works it way to the south, all the
way up the East coast, millions in its path. Well, yeah,
there's people that lived in the US. We have front
we'll move across the whole United States. That's nothing that that.
Oh wait, that's never happened.

Speaker 8 (02:40:32):
I got news for you.

Speaker 1 (02:40:32):
Millions in his past. Anything that hits Texas, there's millions
in its past.

Speaker 4 (02:40:36):
Exactly did we have like a snow bomb last year?

Speaker 1 (02:40:40):
Like the snow batch of snow was something like that?
I remember that that when we were here spending around
the park, you're all going to be snow blot and
let me ask you different things. Let me ask everybody
else about this too. Friday night this past week, why
did we cancel games and play them on Thursday? Because
there was a slight chance of rain? There was no
severe weather. Uh, And of course when we were coming,

(02:41:01):
they didn't care for severe weather or not you were playing.
But my point is people move their games from Friday
to Thursday for what. I had no idea what I
went saying, pellam play And it was on Friday. And
as I was getting in the car to come home,
there was a few drops on the wind ship that
came in. But it was just right even if it
hadn't came in. Like I said, we'd have got wet.
So we don't play in rain anymore. I know it's weird.

(02:41:23):
I mean, I get severe weather if you can, you know,
get ahead of it. But it didn't get work case scenario. Gosh,
but doesn't rain at a high school game. Now, now
we're gonna have ten tenths Oh boy?

Speaker 13 (02:41:33):
You know.

Speaker 9 (02:41:34):
Now, Look, you say what you want to around the
country about how we freak out about getting cold and
all this. But where we live in the southeast, is
it not just the week for us? You have the
temperature today high Wednesdays is seventy and by Friday seventy six.

Speaker 1 (02:41:50):
Quickie, If we can survive the Arctic blast, it's just
within forty eight hours. What are we going to do.
We're blasted for We're gonna be in shorts in two days.
I know other Mosquitos will come back out. Rick, what's
going on? It's gonna be cover for a couple of days.
You mean Arctic blast out there? You not call it

(02:42:10):
an Arctic blast. There's no tunnel with might have Rick,
millions in this past. There's millions and it's Arctic blast path.
There's can't fast, there's.

Speaker 4 (02:42:21):
No wrecking ball coming swinging, swinging on down.

Speaker 14 (02:42:25):
It's a big ice wrecking ball, millions in its path
of destruction.

Speaker 1 (02:42:31):
It's it's like the weather people just come dramatic about everything.
There's all a bunch of drama queens.

Speaker 17 (02:42:35):
Now yep.

Speaker 1 (02:42:36):
And you know the problem is, I know it's it's
a story as old as time. You act like this,
and then when it's really something serious, we don't tell
you serious. We don't because you've been you've been so
dramatic about mild changes in the web is actually bad one,
sure there is. Weather can be deadly, absolutely, But but
if I keep hearing that every single day, I'm going
to die because of weather, and I better click and

(02:42:57):
be updated. Uh, you know I when I really do
need to hear it, I'm there's the word drama queen.
Even SPAN's called it. Span has the guts to call it.
He's called it on his own industry. Yeah, you're right.
And I was absolutely told by a meteorologists that is
not spam, that will rename remain nameless, that he is
urged to do it by his boss. Give us some

(02:43:21):
scary click stuff. That's what the that's what the Memosa
storm alert. It was written. It was exactly what it
was written, a little deeper than that, but what the
bottom line was, give give us some click stuff out there,
scarily craft out of people if you can, especially old people,
they really get scared. We'll talk weather. Oh yeah, think

(02:43:43):
about that. How much weather gets talked about, one just
because you can't think of anything else to talk about.
And two if it's exceptionally hot or exceptionally cold. That's
the first thing we said. You know I've removed, did
you know? Because I try, We always want to try
to be unpredictable. I now won't give people weather small
talk because I know it's expected, so you just back
und No matter how bad the weather is, you can't

(02:44:03):
get me talk about it. Really, we could all be
in dire straits and I wouldn't mention it. Ta five,
I'm a sicking targeting battle seeing Opening day here? What's
that you're going? How's Opening Day?

Speaker 11 (02:44:18):

Speaker 1 (02:44:18):
Opening Day? I was gonnaday. Yeah, it's gonna be camp.
I mean, the highs is gonna be in the the forty.
They normally get the temp right. Do you remember we
were on a hunt one time and the last weekend
of the year in January we were somewhere at some
place and it was like seventy y'all remember that. I
do remember that was horrible. I remember that little sweatyd

(02:44:40):
in the stand.

Speaker 8 (02:44:41):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess Show. Only in America.

(02:45:01):
Could these four men do this for a living God
bless America. This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (02:45:12):
And thanks you for being with us today, America. How'd
you sleep last night? Look, if you if you had
a mattress that was customized for you, you think just
common sense would tell you that you might sleep better.
I mean, other than a mattress that just was pulled
off the showroom floor that just was kind of there

(02:45:35):
in general for most people. But what if something was
customized for you? And or how would they customize something
for me? Well, I'm glad you asked. Go to heli
sleep dot com slash big box. You know what you'll
see a little sleep quiz. No, that's not big deal,
a little sleep quiz. Nothing to go there. Greg even
scared of it. I mean, how difficult difficult can it be?

(02:45:57):
If Greg dealt with it, that's a good point. And
he did it. And uh, and so then they customize
the mattress based on your sleeping positions based on your
desired firmness in the mattress. You know where they got that,
or sleep with Sleep quiz and then I mean maybe
you're big and tall, maybe maybe it's for a child
or big r tall. Uh, They'll they'll take that into

(02:46:18):
account too. They're gonna give you one hundred and twenty
nights wow to sleep on it on. They bumped at
one hundred and twenty Yeah, customer first experience. And you
you also have the Happy with Helix guarantee. You gotta
love it. I like the Happy with Helix. If you
love it, you keep it. If you don't, you give
it back. They're refund the money twenty seven percent off

(02:46:38):
right now, come on twenty seven percent off for the
Black Friday sale Helix Sleep dot com slash big Vox
twenty seven percent off Helix sleep dot com slash big
Vox or just look at that link right there. Rick
burgershow dot com under the sponsors. But all right, speedy,

(02:46:59):
you might want to add answer this. I say they
want you to be included. Okay, they're asking where are
you on cheap trick cheap trick? Greg? Well, you know
what I how I'm well speedy. First you go ahead, well, well,
I mean I like, okay, don't google. No, I'm just
don't google. It's the most popular one. Ah what the flame?

(02:47:22):
Or okay, he's googling. I want you to want me?
There you go, and how does that go? I want
you to want me? Exactly right, that's funny. I mean
it's nobody wings. But okay, now you're off in it.

Speaker 3 (02:47:43):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (02:47:44):
They're one of those you on cheap trick. I don't
dislike them. If you want my love, there's like bad you.
There's about four or maybe five songs I like, but
I will say this, and you were there so like
you weren't. They opened for a real speed Wagon and
they're those I like. I'm better live than I do recorded,
and I don't want them as the main act. No,
when they weren't like you said, but you me and

(02:48:05):
Rick Neilson comes out and had that five five neck guitar.
He's a really good guitarist, and the Robin Zonder good singer.
Wasn't it wasn't a ghost town that night? Was it.

Speaker 20 (02:48:17):
That?

Speaker 2 (02:48:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:48:19):
I about five? All right, that's one of them.

Speaker 12 (02:48:21):
They just see let.

Speaker 1 (02:48:25):
En and that with My Gifts Records so, uh you
remember the Kiss records falling out of the Oh that's
good stuff. Okay, uh, cheap trick. I'm about like you.
I'm about a seven. You realize they were in Oxford
a few weeks ago. You don't know he's chiming win

(02:48:48):
that's all. You ain't got nobody. Okay, Kate's went. He
told usually.

Speaker 12 (02:48:56):
Work.

Speaker 1 (02:48:56):
However, you like cheap trick at all?

Speaker 6 (02:48:58):
You know, I'm surprised you guys don't hate cheap trick.
I'm surprised y'all don't hate cheap trick. What bothered me
was he didn't.

Speaker 12 (02:49:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:49:05):
I mean, sure he can play the guitar, fine and dandy,
but he doesn't need the five net guitar. It never
struck me as a band that needed you don't need it.

Speaker 1 (02:49:15):
He don't play it long. It brings it out for
like one song.

Speaker 4 (02:49:18):
The surrender song is a good song. I'm burnt on
probably the rest.

Speaker 1 (02:49:21):
Of the tea want me to want you. I'm done
with that very repetitive song.

Speaker 4 (02:49:25):
That's a repetitive.

Speaker 1 (02:49:27):
Yeah, yeah, she is. I mean, I mean it is.

Speaker 12 (02:49:32):
I mean.

Speaker 1 (02:49:34):
Tonight as a good one, pretty good. Okay, just stop now,
I got a good version update from the guy that
went to see Brian Adams and and Pat Bennizzar. You're
going to be shocked. You're going to be shocked. I
know what it says. I Bett was better than Brian. No,
it's worse. Guys, if you have read me not say this,

(02:49:56):
I won't go ahead because you're going to I like
both of these. You're absolutely gonna hate what heaven right now?
Your day? Your day's okay, Greg, it's gonna take you turn.
I know you enjoying your day. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's
just straight from the heart what you're saying. No, what's
your level of caring about Pat Benator?

Speaker 3 (02:50:13):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (02:50:14):
About about a six? Okay? How do you care at all?
I mean, in her hey day, she was really good.
She did not perform Hit me with your Best Shot
because she's protested. I've heard this gun violence and she
wants to control. I've heard this before.

Speaker 4 (02:50:27):
It so her only his song that I know.

Speaker 1 (02:50:29):
Yeah, she didn't play it. No, No, I meant to
tell you I've heard that. Why did you tell me?
Why do you warnt to not be real? Because here's
my point, Pat, Pat, we know your song. It's not
about really shooting people. We know that you don't have
it was punching your biggest hit. Do you remember when
they did the thing with him your best shot fire away?

(02:50:50):
You know? I mean we got enough sense as people
to know you're not advocating shooting people. You're gonna you
got this song, You're gonna rob us have hit me
with your best shot, A great song, your best known song,
great solo, great solo, and we don't get it. We
can't even here. Your husband played guitar because you're worried
about gun protesting gun control, but that's not what the

(02:51:10):
song's about.

Speaker 8 (02:51:11):
It.

Speaker 1 (02:51:12):
Yeah, good, and we can all work that out.

Speaker 4 (02:51:16):
The n r A loves that song.

Speaker 1 (02:51:17):
What what can she does? She play love as a battlefield.
I mean, you can't have a bat, you can't do anything,
can't wait? You bet shot? Do you remember? Tired of
that song? And it wouldn't bother me if she didn't
play it, because I'm just tired of it. But her
reason bothered. Do you remember when they use it for
Marvin Hagler versus Tommy Hearn I don't remember that, No, No,
it was it was Sugar Ray Leonard versus Marvin Hagler

(02:51:40):
him and we have been shot. They did a little
thing about how pretty good? You like that?

Speaker 16 (02:51:45):
Well?

Speaker 1 (02:51:45):
I didn't know, but I don't like it now. And
I'm like her now because I think this is a
silly one? Is this?

Speaker 4 (02:51:50):
This is she's supporting war by playing love is a battlefield?

Speaker 2 (02:51:53):
Right?

Speaker 1 (02:51:54):
How about this? It bothers me so much? I now
don't like her. Mm there is m and Brian Adams
don't play Run to You anymore because he don't want
to scare people think he's running at him. Okay, all right,
I forgot she looked like that? Did she perform? I
love rock and roll?

Speaker 4 (02:52:10):
That's not that's not I thought it was.

Speaker 1 (02:52:16):
Who it is she was. I liked her music too.
I remember being a young man, I thought I liked
her all right.

Speaker 4 (02:52:23):
Yeah, Oh treat me right, Yeah, that's good. Treat me right,
treat your mother right. Oh yeah, oh wait, that's.

Speaker 1 (02:52:30):
Mister t one he promises in the dark. Wasn't that bad?
That's good. That's a good song. That's a good one.
That's a good one. The only problem is that that
you know, she can't play that anymore. She can't play
that anymore because that that may be endorsing and wanting pregnancy.
Oh yeah, and telling the truth promises it's too little,
too late to get So that's a great one. She

(02:52:51):
was good, you better run, you better remember early TV.
Oh come on, we lived for love, not bad. I
hated that one. That was not that one. I didn't
like that one. Matter of fact, that's when I thought
she listens in the dark, babe, fact, I said, dandy.

Speaker 4 (02:53:07):
Promise, you're about looking for a stranger.

Speaker 1 (02:53:12):
Now, this next title is going to scare everybody. But
what the song is about? A really good song she
does as hell as for children? Greg, No, it is
it's about child abuse. I know it is, But the
song is it's a rocker. I didn't know. I didn't
know you would grab that one. That's a good song.
I mean, it's a good song, but it was such
a serious topic. It was uncomfortable. It was because I
think that tried to get a little heat early and

(02:53:33):
she was once you listen to the lyrics on what
I'm saying, right you who wrote? Why did she take
that same attitude about hit me? I agree? Or she
may quit playing. Maybe she may not play well. I mean,
if if she can clarify rightfully so misunderstanding that song
can't you clarify, hit me back, I would think.

Speaker 4 (02:53:48):
So oh, now you're really not gonna like her.

Speaker 12 (02:53:52):
Rick.

Speaker 4 (02:53:52):
She has a song called run between the rain Drops.

Speaker 1 (02:53:55):
No, no, men don't run in the rain. This is
the worst know our day ever.

Speaker 4 (02:54:03):
It's run between the rain.

Speaker 1 (02:54:05):
I don't know that one. Oh that was when she
done got poppy. She went and it's hard rocking. Her
early stuff is really good. And you remember you had
to sit through this whole thing where she was trained
as an opera singer and became a rock singer after that?
Does she write Shadows of the night?

Speaker 4 (02:54:19):
Buddy, we don't know? Okay, you don't either. You don't care,
You don't care, No, buddy, Buddy.

Speaker 1 (02:54:26):
Miles want to know dream places. That's okay. When we
come back. Video nine is gonna test how Speedy's doing today.
This is gonna be tough on you. And I gotta know.
I got something I want you'all to hear and see.
I y'all know what's going on too, Okay, got all that.

Speaker 2 (02:54:43):
Should have gone on.

Speaker 8 (02:54:44):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. He was told good
luck finding a job that would pay him to be

(02:55:05):
the christ Cloud.

Speaker 1 (02:55:07):
Rick Burgess, this is where America hangs out having a blast.
Thank you for being with us. Vide Greg Adler on here,
we thank you for being part of the program. Thank you,
Shane out email birds. You guys are hitting on all
eight cylinders today. Come on radio Gold. Thank you. All right,

(02:55:32):
So this is gonna be hard here what you got?
Oh boy? Don't you all feel like we're living in
a society right now where we're really surrounded by the
emotionally unstable? Oh yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:55:45):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (02:55:46):
And so this is a grown woman, right Eddler? I
would I want I want just just can I ask
all of you out there here, adults? I mean, if
you're grown okay, I think the kids check id If
you have little ears and you want to cover them up,
you can. But but when where is this going? But no,

(02:56:08):
it's nothing off color?

Speaker 21 (02:56:10):
Yep?

Speaker 1 (02:56:10):
But but we got our attention, Rick, Yeah, conversation. Why
don't you just sit over there, mister, let me roll
off cheap trick songs for you, well talking music. I'm joining, right,
but you didn't have to add your agreeing with the title.
But anyway, the winned the Poo's not a real bear, no, Rick,

(02:56:30):
He's never been ring right, And you know what he
is is a cartoon. Yes he is great. Uh and
I want you to watch his footage. Here's an adult
woman who's meeting Winnie the Pooh. I guess at Disney.
Oh yeahs yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:56:46):
And she's at least she's at least thirty years old.
We know that because she's going to say, I've waited
thirty years to meet you. What I've loved I've loved
you my whole life.

Speaker 4 (02:56:56):
So she's in her thirty.

Speaker 1 (02:56:58):
She's got a wedding ban on. All right, alright, I'm sorry, and.

Speaker 6 (02:57:02):
And I'll have to turn it down at a couple
of spots because there's like sentimental music. But I want
y'all to hear her interaction with Winnie the Pooh.

Speaker 4 (02:57:08):
You control it, I got it, Pooh, I went in
thirty years to meet you. What in the world, guys,
Oh my god, here's the music. They're still hugging. She's
talking a man.

Speaker 1 (02:57:29):
That's not real. I was doing the typical move I promise.
Look at my little Pooh and I have one of
the poop phone case. Watch watched the man.

Speaker 3 (02:57:38):
I love you, I love you.

Speaker 1 (02:57:41):
Oh my gosh. Guys like Terry talking to Cuddy.

Speaker 4 (02:57:44):
Oh my, that's a man. In a costume, y'all. Let's
not forget that's just some could be some weird man.

Speaker 3 (02:57:50):
Could be some.

Speaker 1 (02:57:51):
Weirdo old man. Yeah no, t wasn't behind.

Speaker 4 (02:57:53):
There could be a weird old, balding old man like
Coach Darkin.

Speaker 1 (02:57:58):
Yeah. Yes, they've been the mask. It's good because he
did all the moves. You your mouth.

Speaker 4 (02:58:04):
And he went through it.

Speaker 1 (02:58:05):
You think he was talking. Oh yeah, everyone off. I
wish she would come in the camera around. I've been
waiting on you for thirty minutes. All right, so the
Clemson tire instead of get off physics, I'm winning that.
What what do you got my own costume? It's not

(02:58:27):
as good, but I've got my own. Keep it. He's
not yeogy bear. Okay, I think the guy in the
costume is even thinking. That's a little wrong bear. That's
not yelogy bear.

Speaker 7 (02:58:37):
Okay, yes he would the average man that that This
is when your average this is, this is, this is
up down.

Speaker 1 (02:58:51):
The Halloween. Okay, okay, let me throw this at you.
If this was a little girl would be precious, right yeah,
but but yeah, but it's it would be, but it's
a grown woman. It's now, it's just weird.

Speaker 6 (02:59:08):
She's not five, she's thirty something. This is this is
part of Disney World. This is like Christopher Robbin's bedroom.

Speaker 1 (02:59:14):
I got okay, Yeah, private, weird, private.

Speaker 4 (02:59:19):
Meeting great Yeah yeah, living my little poo.

Speaker 1 (02:59:23):
Wow, can you give me the beginning. I've been waiting
thirty years to get you.

Speaker 2 (02:59:28):
This is not.

Speaker 1 (02:59:31):
I help you, Greg, she's trying. I've been waiting thirty
years to meet you.

Speaker 11 (02:59:35):
I went, I went in thirty years to meet you.

Speaker 1 (02:59:43):
It's it's not who Who's not real? And you.

Speaker 4 (02:59:49):
Woman, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:59:51):
It was pretty short. He was so cute.

Speaker 11 (02:59:54):
Oh my gosh, you're the cutest thing ever. I promise
look at my little pool.

Speaker 1 (03:00:01):
By the way stuff by the way, by the way.
Without the video, that line doesn't work.

Speaker 3 (03:00:08):
No, I would love to look at their little pool.

Speaker 12 (03:00:14):
All right.

Speaker 1 (03:00:14):
You don't have to make it that far. I don't know.
We're little, all right.

Speaker 12 (03:00:19):
Stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:00:19):
I'm not gonna be able to quit start small one
up up Winnie the pooh pin. Yeah, right out of breath.
Let me tell you something. Somebody just said this and
I heard this bit too, the Jeff Foxworthy bit about
his uncle and goofy. And he waited in line to
get Goofi's autograph. Why in the world would you stand

(03:00:41):
in line to get goofies autograph? And he goes, I'm
pretty sure that's the real Goofy. There's a lot of
people that are out the real.

Speaker 3 (03:00:51):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:00:52):
I think that's the real that's the real one right there. Uh.
You know, if she wanted to meet winning the pool,
you just simply contact the local, you know, really high
end costing place and you could have had him over
your house. Go to some kids book fair. He's probably
see Clifford the Red Dog. I mean right, he'll be there.
Not the real one, Greg.

Speaker 6 (03:01:11):
I want people to be happy, and I want people
to have things good for you that they like. I
want people to have things that they like and they're
into and things like that. But when I see people
extending things from their childhood into their adulthood in an
unhealthy way, that bothers me.

Speaker 1 (03:01:31):
That bothers me. Go to Disney and enjoy it.

Speaker 9 (03:01:32):
But you're saying, as a grown woman, when you meet
just a pod, you're in your crime.

Speaker 1 (03:01:39):
Yeah it's even okay. I mean I remember when I
was there with my kids, which is a you love
the power ring, which is a key point to get.

Speaker 4 (03:01:48):
So you went there with children. Interesting time.

Speaker 1 (03:01:51):
I would do things like hey, goofy, good to see you,
you know with the kids. That wasn't real good wasn't
wasn't the real one. But uh but anyway, you know,
so that's fun. You're you're pretending with your kids. But
this woman's like at Disney by herself, took the squalling
and was looking to meet we need the Pooh to
get that off her bucket list. It's even okay to

(03:02:13):
have your picture maybe with Win the Pooh and say,
you know, I already loved Winn the Pooh when I
was a kid. Kind of I'm gonna get my picture
maybe with Ween the Pooh. But when you start saying
things like I've been waiting to meet you for thirty years, Poo,
that's weird.

Speaker 6 (03:02:26):
It is it seems like childhood things need to be
worked out or something like something's going on there.

Speaker 4 (03:02:33):
You see what I'm saying, Like, no, we got it, okay, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:02:36):
Like maybe she wouldn't allow to see Win the Poo
when she was a kid, some kind of trauma something.

Speaker 9 (03:02:41):
Right, You remember that good night look at that moment
when you saw the playback and you were like, oh wow, yeah.
Do you think if she is at home and she
sees the playback of this video, she might go, oh wow.

Speaker 1 (03:02:54):
I don't know. I think she's so far gone. I
mean her reaction was so sincere. She was so excited
to say boo and look about a little boot, right,
I don't know if this is a.

Speaker 4 (03:03:10):
Speedy sun playing that.

Speaker 1 (03:03:11):
You're right if you're not watching the video. The videos
videos crucial.

Speaker 3 (03:03:16):
What kind of radio show is this?

Speaker 8 (03:03:18):
Right?

Speaker 1 (03:03:20):
Can't see what we're here? The video is crucial right there.

Speaker 4 (03:03:23):
So I just want people to be happy.

Speaker 6 (03:03:25):
And but you know, things of your childhood that's okay
to like still like it, but don't like be a
child about it, Like does that make sense? Like look
back at your childhood with fondness and those things with fondness,
but don't don't be a child.

Speaker 4 (03:03:38):
Don't be childlike about it.

Speaker 1 (03:03:40):
I don't know. It just bothers me. This from the
man who dresses up his orange justice.

Speaker 4 (03:03:46):
Yeah, that's to make you guys laugh, right, that's for y'all.

Speaker 1 (03:03:49):
That's for y'all's jolly, it's not mine. And where's a
white wig for verdic? You know what? It is hard
for us to speak to this particular talk. Okay, don't
how we make a living?

Speaker 4 (03:04:00):
You make some good point.

Speaker 1 (03:04:02):
All Right, we'll be back and we have more to
cover before we wrap up today's hour.

Speaker 6 (03:04:08):
Speaking of Speedy and uncomfortable Moments and Mississippi State. Did
you'll see the proposal at the Mississippi State game? How
do y'all feel about proposing when you're getting really beat
really bad?

Speaker 1 (03:04:18):
How you got to call it off? They all miss proposal.
They knew they were gonna win. They were playing at
the Citadel.

Speaker 8 (03:04:23):
Yeah, this is the Rick Burgess Show in a world

Was it?

Speaker 17 (03:05:43):
A name?

Speaker 1 (03:05:45):
That sound? We're playing? The contest, Bruce Harmon. I sounds
like somebody to talk about something.

Speaker 4 (03:05:55):
That sounds like the studio.

Speaker 1 (03:05:56):
During the break. Yes, it does. The greatest dad ever
who has lots of kids and they're all pulling his finger.
I think it just sounds, but it's something I don't know.
I can't It's like a cushion, a cushion shin of
some kind of your cushion. There's some kind of there's

(03:06:16):
some kind of aquatic mammal making that sound. That's what
I think. Can y'all believe it's actually a building?

Speaker 20 (03:06:22):
What?

Speaker 9 (03:06:23):
The Olympic Velodrome building was built in twenty twelve in
London for the Olympic Games. But if there's ever fireworks
set off nearby, which I guess there are, the pringle
shaped building makes sounds like that, which sounds like somebody
else relieving themselves. Yeah, uh, and a guy captured the

(03:06:44):
sounds that it makes.

Speaker 19 (03:06:46):
It is.

Speaker 9 (03:06:47):
Yes, it's known as the Pringle building because of and
you you'll see what it sounds like, what it looks like.
Six thousand seat Olympic Velodrome was built for the Olympic
Paralympic Games. But fireworks night might be the hardest of all. Yes, yeah,
that right there makes a sound. Weird looking when there's
sound there.

Speaker 1 (03:07:07):
It does.

Speaker 9 (03:07:08):
The design of the building is so compact it's known
as the Pringle that it makes the sound of flagelence
echoing after fireworks start and building are reflected into its
timber ventilation system. That's the noise that it makes.

Speaker 1 (03:07:28):
That's pretty good. Okay, well there, well there you go.
Greg thought something and make that. I think somebody around
there with gas. Yeah, he blaming it on the building.

Speaker 4 (03:07:38):
That's so weird.

Speaker 1 (03:07:39):
That is weird on me. It was the building on
that note, and that wouldn't me. It was the building,
that's right. That's what was the beauty beauty that you
and I grew up near. A treatment plant. Oh yeah,
it was so so perfect. Yeah, I mean you just
start driving by that treatment plan, you're like stupid treat
if you if you were going to relief a little,

(03:07:59):
a little released for a little pressure, just wait for
the treatments, even on the dates you get away with it.

Speaker 4 (03:08:04):
Yeah, even or changing the diaper, even if it's the
diaper is just wet.

Speaker 12 (03:08:11):
Wok.

Speaker 4 (03:08:12):
Sorry, just changing the diaper in here, guy.

Speaker 9 (03:08:16):
Wom table for tomorrow's beauty pageant. Contestant did death metal
for her talent.

Speaker 1 (03:08:25):
But we get to see it and here we can.
But we can table that for later. I just that
was next on my list.

Speaker 2 (03:08:31):
But do we have it?

Speaker 1 (03:08:34):
Yeah, I'm okay with seeing it now.

Speaker 6 (03:08:35):
I saw it this weekend. It's miss world chili about it,
don't okay. The most sexist thing about me is that
I don't like female metal vocalists.

Speaker 1 (03:08:46):
And there it is.

Speaker 4 (03:08:47):
I will admit I'm sexist when it comes to metal vocalists.

Speaker 6 (03:08:50):
I was a misogynist, sure, and I felt that same
way when it came to drummers for a long time too.
Really don't feel that way anymore. But to me, the
the metal vocalist, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. It's
like this is man's work.

Speaker 4 (03:09:05):
Lady, what are you doing?

Speaker 2 (03:09:06):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (03:09:07):
You like the beautiful chorus?

Speaker 6 (03:09:10):
So I'm stuck in a world where the woman sings
the beautiful chorus and then the dude jumps in.

Speaker 4 (03:09:15):
He's like, okay't wake up, you know whatever it may.

Speaker 1 (03:09:18):
Be, would you die for? Are you okay with the
women playing guitar? Should they be doing dishes?

Speaker 4 (03:09:22):
You know, I'm fine with that.

Speaker 1 (03:09:23):
I'm fine with that.

Speaker 4 (03:09:24):
I just don't want you to scream like cookie monster.
It's not even a good look for men to do it.

Speaker 9 (03:09:28):
And this beauty package, this lady, miss Fernandez, is vying
to be Miss World Chili.

Speaker 1 (03:09:36):
This was the last week, this was her talent.

Speaker 9 (03:09:37):
She took to the stage for the talent competition, wearing
her sash over a black gown and then she broke
out into some death metal.

Speaker 4 (03:09:46):
Okay, here we go, all right, so there's a dude
on guitar up there with her too. I got to
talk over just oh yeah, that's her.

Speaker 1 (03:10:05):
That that is so unpected. I'm a little different. That
is so unexpected, and it's not good. I don't want
to be the old man here that you know is
not hip to the group. I let her bring your
own guitarists, but how does anybody enjoy that? Even when
it's done well, even when it's done, Did you enjoy that?
It's I mean it's too It is a style issue

(03:10:28):
to each use. I'm not talking about the music. I'm
talking about the way that that's singing.

Speaker 6 (03:10:32):
I have a couple of instrumental metal bands that I
listened to where there's not that's not in there, And
a lot of these bands will actually release the entire
album no vocals, Like a lot of times they'll go
back and do that to you know, it won't be
for like the initial release, but and so.

Speaker 4 (03:10:49):
I find myself listening to that.

Speaker 6 (03:10:50):
Sometimes I have metal band artists that I have literally
just taken all the guitar solos from the entire album
and just edit that into one like eight minutes, And
I'll just listen to all the guitar solos on the
whole album all the way through.

Speaker 4 (03:11:03):
And that's a track I have on my phone.

Speaker 12 (03:11:05):
So I get it.

Speaker 4 (03:11:07):
It can be annoying.

Speaker 6 (03:11:08):
Sometimes it can be used well, almost like a percussive instrument.
But I can't sit here and defend it, especially when
it's like a female.

Speaker 4 (03:11:14):
It just is weird. It makes me feel weird.

Speaker 1 (03:11:17):
It's very demonic. Yeah it can be, Yeah it don't
you know, you throwed.

Speaker 6 (03:11:22):
Her, yes, and she's recking her singing voice. My mom's
my mom's a voice teacher. She would have a conniption
she saw a woman doing that.

Speaker 1 (03:11:31):
That got her through the Top twenty.

Speaker 9 (03:11:33):
That was November second, and I think over the Top
twenty was yesterday. I don't know the results of that one,
so but she did make it to the next round.
I mean, she don't look like a heavy metal singer, right.

Speaker 4 (03:11:46):
She's evidently in that band with that man with the
beautiful long hair there, so.

Speaker 1 (03:11:49):
You know they're awesome. Also some other things from from
Over the Weekend video four. I mean, I want to
be a dad down, but I mean, you know that
was awful when you when you try to try, you know,
downplay you know, the New Yorkers voting for a devout,

(03:12:10):
fundamental Muslim who is a socialist slash communist. You know,
you try to say, well, you know, is there anything
to be concerned about? It doesn't help when Muslims climb
up after he's elected and begin to tear American flags
down off stuff. Yeah, that's a good son. That just
didn't feel that didn't feel like if he made the
right decision here, that does not feel like a great

(03:12:31):
decision look at that. And of course I did see
this over the weekend and I found myself just chuckling
with with a hey, I told you so. So remember, uh,
the socialist as long as they're the ones that are elected,
they do great. We've told you that before. You know,
I'm not I'm a practicing socialist, which means that he's

(03:12:52):
in government. So he'll be just fine. And if you
don't believe that, first thing he did after he got
elected was he took off to some ritzy resort in
Puerto Rico to hang out. He's in the build of
the city, which was not very socialist like. No, you know,
because nobody else is getting to do that. And you'll
discover now that you've elected him, he's going to get

(03:13:14):
to do all kinds of things that the rest of
New York doesn't get on your dime, on your dime,
because all of you in New York are going to start,
you know, if he gets his way, maybe you won't.
You're going to start getting your food from the government store,
and you'll get from the government store whatever the government
has been able to find a cheap price, and they'll
be out of things but don't worry. He'll have all

(03:13:36):
the food he needs and he'll be able to go
on these lavish vacations while you can't. But good news,
evil capitalists won't be around anymore.

Speaker 12 (03:13:44):
Yeah and yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:13:46):
While he was in Puerto Rico, evidently he attended a
mosque saw that where the mom called October seventh a
silver lining.

Speaker 1 (03:13:57):
So there's an endorsement like that.

Speaker 12 (03:14:00):
Good.

Speaker 1 (03:14:02):
But that's the people of New York have spoken. They've
just spoken. They've spoken very stupidly, as we mentioned last week.
That'll wrap up an hour for us and for some
of you today. If we're wrapping up the day, go
catch any part you missed on the Daily Archives.

Speaker 12 (03:14:20):
