Well, well, look you said you made it through the show.
Of course at some point, having zero concerned that you
were infecting us.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yeah, you have things to do. Thanks, Well, you're already.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Here, right, you are already here, might as well finish stay
away from the guest.
Speaker 5 (02:15):
It's not a big deal. But technically laughter is the
best medicine speed he said, it was sleep. It was
technically laughter, yeah, doctor, but.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, laughter. We had to h see the house that morning.
I felt fine. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
We had to email us that were here that day,
Dave and his wife, and they said we we went
through any barriers. We didn't think he was contagious. That
they came in. I don't know if you remember and everything.
I said, he he is sick today. No, I'm kidding, No,
he said. He said, Hey, we weren't worried at all.
(02:53):
We weren't worried all we went in. This was the
maybe this is the couple that was the third attempt
the year, and finally they were here.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Yes, I do remember them, but they weren't. They weren't scared.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Nobody nobody was scared. And apparently Greg and apparently whatever
it was. I guess we'll go back to possible for
foot poisoning of some kind just.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Didn't sundle right. I don't know. Something went bad. Yeah, yeah,
I could be. I need catch up on sleep. I
did sleep. How bad did you feel? I didn't feel great?
You know, you're right.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
I drove home even ran a Aaron on the way home.
Because that's just me, that's I.
Speaker 7 (03:30):
Mean, that's just how I wrote.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
I mean, I was on the way the house, pads
and things that stopped doing the way. Let me tell
you something.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
What's fun now?
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Let me tell you what's something funny? And we and
we were we were raised by what we thought was normal.
Let me tell you this. I'm not Greg, I'm completely serious.
I'm completely serious, and this is not gonna surprise you
at all. So of course, at some point during this
which we're that our family is the only family that
does this, I think to this degree, Greg began we
begin to discuss what that that he's at another level toughness,
(04:00):
that he did finish off his response and responsibilities while
going to the bathroom a couple of times and having
to do horrible things and getting right back to getting
his work done. And there was a discussion of that toughness.
So then my mind started thinking, when I started not
seeing any symptoms, well am I am? I now even
another level of tough that he can't even get me sick,
you know, But that's how we started thinking. So when
(04:23):
I found out that nobody was getting sick, there's a
sight of me that said out maybe one contagious, right,
you know, because what now I was looking for? Like,
can I now say, well, I tell you the only
thing tougher than being sick and finishing your job is
being around you being sick and being so tough.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
It didn't even make me sick.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
That's a good point, but great, good point. The stat
I want I want to go exactly might be you problem, buddy.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
So, Yeah, the handle that you were in, we haven't
really broke down, and it's it's no you were we
were alive on air and it hit him.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
I saw it. You ran a little bit of a job,
and I don't know.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
If anybody anybody caught it, but I could tell your
faith and you didn't know if you were going to
get out of the studio.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Yeah, and you don't want that, Greg.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
If you would have hacked in this studio right in
front of the box seats, I'd have never forgot it.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Right on the road and.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
They would have never forgot it. How close, how far
out that door did you get your office office. Oh
that's not far. No, because the bathroom is twenty miles
from here. So I was like, that ain't happening. No,
you weren't gonna make the bathroom. I don't want to
be that guy like the school, the kid that would
hack a home and the janitor had to bring cat
litter out. Yeah you look now now Adler's got cat
litter for the vox seat. Columbus James in Yeah, Columbus James.
(05:44):
So you made it to your bathrooms? Uh, I mean
to your office? Yeahs trash can that's.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Like fifty feet.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Let's you can in your own trash cleaned it up, okay,
and then and then you took it home with you
in case it happened in the truck.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
I cleaned up version. I brought it back this morning.
You brought the trash camp back. I thought I might
need it. Was running my air smart, that's smart, run Rick,
I knew I had you still to run errands.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
You know, well, what what am I saying? Well, you know,
after you relieve, after you that happens, you kind of
do feel better for a little bit, you know, right,
Yeah that really then it comes back, but it never
did after that, is that it too? We said we
had two norse in one south? Right? Is that it?
Speaker 4 (06:27):
That's it?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
No more souse, No okay, Greg, any more souths you
need Greg? That was one more sound promise, don't hide
the South. It was weird.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
I have South all the time. Greg is fine normally.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
When I had the colonoscar and the guy said, well,
how was the prey up, I said it was just
the eighties, just another day. I slept for boy, I
slept a lot, and then yesterday when I woke up,
I think, okay, I found normal.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
But those of you watching on YouTube, y'all had to
see Greg both out of here. I want you your
camera shot, and I've been over here.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Though they may not. It was in the nine o'clock hour,
last hour. I wasn't worrying about whether I was in
the camera, know you were not. We get up moved
during camera time. We tried to duck the camera.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
No no, I cut to an egg. I saw Rick
saw Greg leaving. I cut to an angle because we
just kept the segment going. We didn't even address it,
which we should have.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Maybe it was that.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Lane, it was that lean forward walk to Yeah, it
was like yeah, yeah, well that was a little bit
of quick stamp. Yeah, it's a quick stamp.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
And you were also negotiating with your stomach. If you'll
get me to the other side of that door, i'll
give it to you.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
By the way, I'm not asking for the bath that's
you is anyway, I'm about to come over and reenact it.
I'm gonna show you because I watched it all the way.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Kind of from where he is.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
We should probably do it from where he is.
Speaker 6 (07:55):
Rick is now getting up walking across the studio here
and here we got yeah, yeah, here we go, ready
and action.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
There he goes.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
It was a fast wall, quick step, quick step.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
If I had.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
If man maybe sliding this trash can out right here
in front of that story. Yeah, well let me tell
you those fot those we would we wouldn't tell that one.
Oh and what about the vox says you think they
wouldn't have a story.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Somebody says, hey, did you ever go and watch a
show during the Rick and Bubbadas or the Rick bird you' showing?
Somebody said, everybody's tking to Somebody said, let me tell
you that I was there.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yeah, that's going on Before I left the house that morning.
At the time I got here, I was like, so
you had you had a South to Norse. You never
had a North and South going at the same time.
Which is the world?
Speaker 8 (08:43):
It is?
Speaker 3 (08:44):
It is if you have to flush and then the
trash can when you got the civil war going on,
it's awful.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
It is I had against itself. Cannot stand No, I.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
Don't know what this says about me. So the rug
we have that's in front of the counter, here is
the logo of Rick's face. What if you'd have thrown
up on the road, well out years of a great.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Take that take that sick fuck talking about it, Take
those peaks.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Something like, No, the trash can was was north. He
would never do south in the trash Well.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
This is the Rick Burgess show. Sure he played a
little ball, Rick Burchess.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Right here we are.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
It is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Speedy, Greg's back and Adler.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
We got the whole game.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
Ready to go unpacking another day. Thank you for being
with us.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Things that you need to know Wednesday Bible study is
now out and if you missed that archive yesterday. Joe
chapter three now available on the YouTube channel or the
podcast channel. May do some discussion a little bit on
that today because I got a ton of questions in
the room and after we were done yesterday, and we'll
(10:31):
hit maybe some of that coming up a little bit
later on in heyburd chay Burge. So some other things
I need to pass along to you. The irs really
aggressive these days. Meant now that Trump's taken over, maybe
we can tone it down a little bit. But they're
out and they be revenue. And I will tell you this,
(10:52):
if you owe taxes, you need to go ahead and
deal with it. Here comes the fifteenth, Here comes the
fifteenth of the rowland in the track, and it's gonna
get here. And if you keep trying to hide, you're
not taking this on. It makes you like you're kind
of a tax evator.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
They don't like that.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Why don't you go ahead and get with the folks
at tn USA. Put them to work for you. That's
Tax Network USA TNUSA dot com slash big Box.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
There's no obligation to use them.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
I'd go ahead and get in touch with them, though,
find out what they're strategists and their legalists can do
for you. They know which agents to deal with, which
ones to avoid. They have a preferred direct line to
the irs. Let's get this done. They've already resolved over
a billion dollars in tax debt. They can do the
same thing for you and get the peace of this
being over. Okay, get this off your plate one eight
(11:44):
hundred nine five eight one thousand, TNUSA dot com slash
big Vox also Rick Burgess show dot com under the sponsors.
You know, speaking of taxes, and you know how I
feel about the tag car tags and all that.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Won't get on that rent again. But I'm a little gray.
What is this thing where.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
It?
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Look?
Speaker 4 (12:09):
You got me?
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Okay, y'all come on out there, guys. I'll give up
on complaining about this never ending text. Okay, with car
tax and the outrageous prices that they are. Okay, why
do we periodically have to change the physical tag? Why
why do we ever leave the sticker? Because you know,
(12:32):
like when I was getting mine for this year, and
I did finally do I went online and got them
and they came.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
To the house.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
We're good, okay, And that worked out really smooth. It
had to work a little harder than I thought on
because they wouldn't all come up. So I just start
entering the license plate and then eventually they did so,
so I got it done. But then they that's when
they said, may take a little longer, and I have
them now. It actually didn't take that long at all.
May take a little longer. This is the point I'm asking,
because this is the year that we're changing the physical tag.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Why you know? I don't know.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
I know, you know, states changed slogans, they changed the
layout maybe and phase out old ones.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
But why I'm not sure I get a new tag.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
I just got sticker. Wow, I don't know what they made.
They made me get a new physical tag on every
on every vehic. I know that a county thing.
Speaker 9 (13:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
You wouldn't think five years I got a sticker.
Speaker 10 (13:27):
Alabama replaces the plate every your rogue, you're supposed to
have another tag.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
I got a sticker on both of my But but
aren't you in Alabama?
Speaker 11 (13:36):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (13:36):
It could be that he got a sticker after you.
I mean a new tag after you got your individual person. Yeah,
like within the last five years. Have you got so
he's probably a little off on rotation, but we're both bees.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
This shouldn't make any sense what they counted on personal
I thought they would change it every five years. No,
it's it's within within that window you can get. And
then five years ago here's what I was a little
disappointed in shocker. I thought, well, we're gonna change the tag,
give me something new. It looks just like the other one,
just like.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
Any difference that beach look one time.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Remember that.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
No, I don't remember.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
You can get different looks. You can give you bless America.
You can get the rivers and the all.
Speaker 8 (14:23):
I know this.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
I went into the sill Oute office, which was all
here you goes. You ain't in there five minutes my
sticker and well went yep, all right. Of course they
took some money. Hey, hey, it's twenty twenty four, twenty
five whatever. I think we should all do away with
these fees on swiping cards because y'all want us all
to pay. But they'll add five dollars baby, just credit.
(14:46):
You know that's three percent.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
If this was a new thing, thank you. They're trying
to make us do that on everything. It's up here,
we're gonna it's not new fangled.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
We need to stop doing this new plate thing.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
It's silly, y'all have out and it's frankly just for Okay,
I'm reading right here. Alabama spends fifteen million dollars every
year stamping new license plates. There's a state panel called
the License Plate Legislative over Site Committee, which helps decide
when they should be reissued. State Senator Gerald Dile is
the chairman. He says Alabama's policy is because when drivers
(15:17):
replace the plates, it ensures they're properly registered, and he
says new plates help law enforcement too. But several other states,
Georgia was looking to save money during the recession last decade.
California even stopped doing this as well. They allowed they
allowed drivers to keep their plates as long as they
have their cars.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Seems a little wasteful. If you want me to change,
like when I get a new car, that'd be a
good time to change.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
New car, new plate, for sure.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
But this one doesn't look at different any different. You
know what I found out.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
You know, I'm working with the American Village. Did you
know they said that the ones that have God Bless
America on them, that they get to that that helps
fund them.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Well, good, that's what we have.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
That's what I because I'm a Christian, I didn't know that, right.
Thank you. If you don't you're not one.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Yeah, okay, thanks buddy.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Yep, yeah, because I know that some like the first
two numbers of the county you're in. It's weird how
you can choose different ones. Now they're saying that on
my new tag, my number sequence is different, So yeah,
I don't. It just seems like a waste of money.
That's one thing that let me now I can't re memborize.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Of course, it does give me an opportunity around the
house to be a little handy babe.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
Don't worry, I'll change the tags out. Got a screwdriver,
got it handled.
Speaker 12 (16:32):
Now.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Then you go out, there's got on them star ones
and you don't have a screwdriver. Star bit, you can't
have You can't even have a tag. It's the number
sequences that are different. Okay, because the tag was exactly
this end, I kind of wanted the tag to look different.
That almost would have given me a little enthusiasm to
cool looking new tag it. So you you could choose
(16:53):
for it to look different because its choices. You've got
like a couple of you can get God bless America.
I chose that, guys, because I'm a Christian.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
You know that you know that makes you a Christian
right now. You can leave you life however you want to.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
As long as you got a Bible versus stuff bubber
sticker and God Bless America on your car tag, you're
going to happen.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
You're good. Ye, you're good, everybody.
Speaker 5 (17:18):
So you got like the what looks like a river,
one that looks like a beach, and then you got
God Bless America.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Yeah, and those like you know, those are the free ones.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
From what I understand.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
Oh you know, I chose that.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
I chose God Bless America once again.
Speaker 3 (17:32):
But that is Christian, that is what mine says. So
I must have made a choice there.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Yeah, you can choose the free one.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
I did want it to look a little different, so
like it may be a different colors. It looks just
like that too.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
I may have the beach.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
I don't remember you don't have the beach. Well, you're
not a Christian, my goodness. I think I took whatever
they gave me.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
But I told you I got, I got, I got
put back in line by Leley. On the specialized one,
I want the one that raises the money for breast cancer.
I don't have a problem with that. I want to
that's different with the deer on it because I'm that
time extra. Yeah, that guy's got a fifty bucks. Yeah,
you know what, I won't buy that one again because
of that deer hit my trub. We got too many deer.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Oh.
Speaker 5 (18:12):
I figured out they're making they make you pay that
fifty bucks every five years too, So that's that's how
they get you. So we've got five million people in
Alabama and we're spending fifteen million dollars a year on plate.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
So that's five bucks and everybody's bopped it there? Or
is it three bucks? And every saving you're out over
your skis now, Buddy said, I think it's three. What's
fifteen to about five?
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Let me get it s he's looking up.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
I don't know what that's my math.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Okay, three dollars a person that's outraging the bottom of
the hour.
Speaker 4 (18:41):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgers Show. Love casting from Living World,
The Rick Burchers.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Show, Giving a Real Baby. Thanks for being with us today.
Baby brother is back. We're all in full force, full strength,
baby moving ahead. Thanks for being with us today.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Okay, so yesterday and it was the first session, so yeah,
and I'm gonna a couple of things we need to
hit first of all, and this real briefly, Speedy. I
know that you have been our investigative journalists on the
death of the Hackmans. Yeah, Gene Hackman and his wife
(19:34):
and the dog. You know, there's so much bad information
now that's why we need you, Speed, because you've taken
on this story problem. But now we keep nobody can
get right where the dog was or how many dogs
there were. And you know, I remember the first time
it was the dog was dead laying there next to them.
Right then it was nope, the dog was created, died
(19:57):
of neglect. The latest dog, not crate, not next to them,
somewhere in it was actually in a room.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Right.
Speaker 6 (20:05):
Well, I'll take that part. I'll take it a step further. Rick,
The uh there should be hard. The fire department actually
came out and said, hey, we did get one thing wrong.
The we I d the the dog as one of
their German shepherds.
Speaker 13 (20:18):
That was not.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
It was a mixed breed, that was it. How does
that matter? I don't know. They're just they just felt
like they wanted to clarify that. You tell me they
corrected their thinking about it. Breed the dog.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Here's what I say to the investigators. We couldn't care
less about the breed. You can miss that.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Find out how they died, right, Uh, figure it out.
Speaker 6 (20:35):
They news, and it was in a crate. But it
was in a closet in the bathroom. So we had
they had the crate part right, They had a closet
prob right now, put it together. It was in the
crate in a closet anyway.
Speaker 14 (20:48):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
And so that's where that the dog was too, could
the floor and they were punishing him. M hm uh
and Greg the what's the dog?
Speaker 4 (20:57):
What about the dog?
Speaker 6 (20:58):
From the experts, because you know, a lot of this
hasn't come back, autopsy report and all this kind of stuff.
They've pretty they've ruled out any kind of uh well,
any gases, carbon monoxide, anything in the house.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
That I find them being a little repetitive about that.
We got that there's no gas. They come out like
every day the updoates no gas. You've already no gases?
Speaker 15 (21:18):
Move on.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
And now they did say that the house was a
really nice house, like nine thousand square fees. It had
three different buildings, and of course it is. Yeah, they
were in the same building. He was in the mud room,
like we talked about with his cane. Looked like he
may have died of a heart attack, and that she
was found. Both of the bodies without being too gruesome here,
(21:41):
they were similar as far as timeline goes. They can
confirm that. But the autopsies have not come back.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
So we will see what her calls were pretty much
with the pacemaker, and I'll know that he had an event.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
You know that.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
We feel good about deal. We're not sure that's where
That's where the mystery is. I said externally, didn't they
don't see?
Speaker 4 (22:00):
No speedy? Can you do this reporting in Nancy Grace's voice?
Speaker 3 (22:05):
You know you're a man, You're a man of a
thousand voices. You ever heard her voice?
Speaker 15 (22:09):
You have her here?
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Let me see this is her actually reporting on gene hack.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Oh okay, maybe we got something here.
Speaker 15 (22:16):
Here we go.
Speaker 16 (22:16):
Okay, nothing rummaged through, no items taken, Everything appeared in place.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
What does it mean?
Speaker 16 (22:24):
I know at least one expert has focused on the
dog for good reason?
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Why why are we focused onthing? The dog killed him?
Speaker 4 (22:36):
You went the rest of it? Okay?
Speaker 15 (22:37):
What why?
Speaker 16 (22:39):
Investigative Research Institute and Star Off Zone seven podcast, Cheryl McCollum,
What about it?
Speaker 17 (22:47):
I would focus on the dog because you're gonna see
the pattern of what the Hackmans did. Did they put
the dog in the crate in the morning or the.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
About the dog For a minute, I thought, my gosh,
they think the dog didn'tide they found Paupery's all right,
and and a local animal. He's taken in the other
two dogs.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
Of course, our society, we have two human beings dead,
and our society we're going to laser focus on.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
We want we want updates on the dogs. They got
the breath.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
We'd like to call a press conference that we are
so sorry we said the Hackman's dead dog was a shepherd,
a mixed breed.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
That's on us.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Maybe maybe maybe maybe mama was a German Shepherd. We
think that daddy was just passing through it. Yeah, that
can't be sure that they had something else to update
a song?
Speaker 3 (23:43):
What about the dog.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
I'll even do like soft focus on you, like they
do on Nancy Grace. They have that that soft focused
like you know.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Here's what we know. He was found in the mud room.
Now what we are unclear on is what was she doing?
Why did she have medicine. Why was it open? Why
were there pills on the floor and the dog locked
in the closet. There's a little bit of Gary in there. Yeah,
(24:11):
all of it.
Speaker 4 (24:12):
And then we have workers that have been working with
them for sixteen years.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
It looked through a window and see her body. Why
didn't the kids reach out for nine days?
Speaker 4 (24:22):
Mama and daddy? You're dad on the floor.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
I don't know who you are. I don't know who
you are. Who got caught up right?
Speaker 2 (24:31):
And by the way, if it's his Nancy Grace, just
make those eyes a little crazier.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Oh yeah, look at ma'amas. That's that's in the same
thing like her. I don't even know what that is.
You're asking me to be good for our first run.
There was some good moments there. There's some good moments.
So I don't know.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
We'll continue to work on that and try to find out.
But also not the voice, but just information and the voice.
Well again, like you said, Greg, I think we're clear
on Hackman cardiac event. I'm ninety five, I've got a pacemaker.
Here's the info. Why is my wife dead?
Speaker 5 (25:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (25:06):
And the dog, well, I don't think the dogs all
that difficult. I don't think the dog's all that difficult.
I'm in a crate for ten days in a closet.
I think we got that well. I think we will
much have that. I'm certainly not some sort of you know,
veterinarian that can give you cause of death of dog.
But if I'm in a crate in the closet for
ten days, they can't be good nor.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
No water, no food. I think we got that one
dog with Xena.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
We correct that. Thank you, Nancy.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
No problem.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
People are saying, Man of a thousand Voices is basically
giving us Jeff Foxworthy reporting on this story.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
You know. The other thing is how why was this
dog in the crate? The other two? Now somebody's taking
them in. They're okay. Where were they?
Speaker 6 (25:54):
One was I think out outside the property or or
outside the house. I think one was inside light and
close to her body. They said, I mean she was fine.
But I'm just saying that's what the report, early report.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Somebody's getting hungry. No, but now I'll tell you this, well,
as I said, they better be glad that they weren't
cat people.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Goodness, cats will eat you in eight hours. He'll still
be warm.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
They do not care didn't you say they start with
the lips.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
That's what I heard.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Well, you know we had a story about that. Yeah, lady, lady,
I don't no lips, but that was a dog. There's
a little dog gate those lips. Oh yeah, a little
like a little pickanes. You can get a watch right now.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
The family is coming out for gene hackening in them
and go, this is so us because we don't have
the information right out of the gate.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Now everything's going negative and all these suspicions and all this.
Speaker 6 (26:51):
You know, let's wait on the autopsy. What a come back? Yeah,
it looks like he might have just had a massive
heart attack. They said she had heart disease. Could she
falling hit her head? We talked about.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Panicked, and but we don't know.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
We're all like this because everybody wants information, and we
want it now, and we want it right to the point,
and we want it quick.
Speaker 4 (27:09):
You know, we all can.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
It's really what it is.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
It's like somebody says, what do you think is wrong? Well,
as soon as we get the blood work, we'll know.
And then they said, when's the blood work coming in
about forty eight hours, And then for the next forty
eight hours, we keep asking, so what's wrong with them?
Speaker 3 (27:21):
Well, if you let us wait.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
On the blood, we tell you we don't know anything
today that we didn't know just a few hours ago.
The blood's not back yet. So when the blood comes in,
you know, yes we will. Why don't you know? So
tell us what happened to him? Well, as soon as
we get the blood, we'll have it. What's wrong with them?
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Need the blood? Right? When's the blood coming? Tuesday? What
day is its? Sunday? Tell us what happened. We'll talk
to you Tuesday. We'll talk to you monday. Won't know,
won't know?
Speaker 9 (27:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Will you come back monday and tell us you don't know?
Speaker 9 (27:46):
Again?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Yes we will, good deal, we'll come back.
Speaker 18 (27:49):
Oh.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
One of the friends has weigh in on why the
two dogs survived. A friend is weighed in, Yeah, there's
actually a story, and here's the headline. Jan Hackman's friend
reveals why two of the stars dogs survived and the
mystery of one died.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
Why it deepens? Why are we focus? Why are we
focused on these dogs? There's two humans laying here dead.
They're really the dogs are not the story.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
This is the rick Burgers Show, the only show hosted
by an Oxford graduate, well, Oxford High School, the Rick
Bircher's show.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
That counts, It does count, all right, So working another show,
all right. So now people are saying wrapping up the
Hackmans that two dogs had doggy doors. They could go
in and out of the house when they wanted to,
so they had access to some water and stuff outside,
which is why they survived. We don't know why the
(28:56):
other dog was created. I don't know why we're so
focused on the dog. Somebody said, well, that's always kind
of an ironic point, isn't it, if you're this far
removed from your last movie or television. Apparently people find
dogs in their plight as interesting as yours. So so anyway,
I still like and we talked about this. One of
you on the text said it, I still think the
(29:17):
most likely scenario we're going to find. And we were
talking about this early on. He had a cardiac event.
She walked in on him. He probably had pills n
your glycerin or something like that for a heart event.
She went to try to get it in a panic,
either fell hit her head in the process, or, as
we're learning, she too had heart disease. She may have
gone in some sort of cardiac event. So anyway, we'll work.
(29:39):
They'll get the answers in the meantime.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Listen audio, get to the bottom. Yeah, Vidio'll get to
the bottom of it. You don't worry. Well, yesterday went
in for the reading of the book.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
God that go.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
You're getting like a cool voice or you just first session,
first session yesterday, Greg.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
We even experimented yesterday only if I started reading it
various characters.
Speaker 6 (30:01):
Okay, yeah, like when you were brought up he could
do you Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure we we we kind
of played that out.
Speaker 2 (30:09):
You know, we got Nadmire gets you know, a chapter,
Gary gets a chapter. You know when on people have
asked that Heli and boy not be given a whole chapter.
Uh yeah, but we we did that yesterday.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Pull off.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
But so here let me and I knew that I
was in trouble as soon as I pulled up in
the parking lot at the studio. For some reason, Scott
Dawson was standing there. I heard you, so yesterday. So
yesterday it was show production Bible study recording session. Yeah
(30:45):
uh so so and that recording session ended at five
thirty local time. So Hello long day, Hello, long day, Hello,
Hell are y'all. But but you know, this is where
and this is just you know, our different personalities. There
are some people that would like and I'm not saying
this is the right thing to do, probably not probably
every probably every doctor in the world would say that's
(31:08):
that's not the greatest plan, but it's the way we're
We're made and from this is just the way we are.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
Okay. Now you remember the time, and it's actually in
the book when Dad the only reason he had for
doing what he had just done is he just simply said,
that's just what I do.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
And you know he would say things like that and
just be the end of the subject. So I prefer
when there is a project, I want to take big botes.
I want to go all in and I would rather
grind and it be done than to take little bikees
and spread it out over a long period of time.
That's just that's just a preference. So what I'm trying
(31:45):
to do is to get this book done in three sessions,
so it can be done now.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Like I know that. Like when Sherry talked to me
about her book, she said what she said, I only
did a chapter a session.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
I said, baby, how long is that go? On my goodness,
there's there's a you know, I mean, like the chapter
has like what it was the book, Kevin, I don't
know how many chapters it has, like fourteen chapters or
something like that. Yeah, and and so so I would
rather go, let's knock out multiple chapters and long sessions
over fewer days.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
That's what I prefer.
Speaker 12 (32:20):
Now.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
That makes that day a grind, you know, and then
sometimes but it's over, but but then you're done. So
but what I was, you know, you know, I was
worried about some words that I don't know that I
don't say. Well, and and you even look and go,
why did I write that word? You know, you can't
say it just because you can write it. And I
expected and it's early on in like the introduction that
(32:43):
we were going to bog down on the word rule.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
That was a discussion yesterday. That's a tough word, would.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
See tough.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
See what I'm saying, it's so here here was the setup.
Speaker 2 (33:00):
Here was the setup to get a different word, right.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Yeah, well that was it?
Speaker 2 (33:05):
So speedy, This is great. You you who study, you
who study all this. You would have just walked in
and said, I feel so bad, I feel so bad
for her. But here here's how it worked. You had
local studio okay, which was good. There was one plan
where I was going to have to go to Nashville
to do these okay, and everybody agreed, well, Nashville can
(33:25):
just oversee the Birmingham, which is where I live studio,
And so I walk in, so I've got local producer,
I guess, engineer slash but then on zoom, I've got
the Nashville guy talking to the local guy and then
me and you know, they and they sit me down
and you yeah, I'm sure they sent me down, Yes, sir,
(33:51):
well with the states on it.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Yeah, well America, I'm not on video. I walked in.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
The first thing I said, jeer Trump last night, America's back,
and that went over great.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
With the Archie bunch. Yeah, did a great job. So
I just want to read the book. That's it down here,
so I will tell you this.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
I did find out pretty quick. No snacks, No snacks.
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
They were like, oh yeah, we don't have any snacks,
and I'm like, they don't need you chewing, but we
had bottles of water snacks.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
What are you a kid? Ruby On the way home from.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
School, we need to take when when we take a break.
What about a snack mid afternoon snack?
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Are you an adult man?
Speaker 1 (34:34):
Bring you now?
Speaker 3 (34:36):
I thought studios had snacks, So son, have some gold
fish in.
Speaker 4 (34:43):
A little banging.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
I'd like to know where you like?
Speaker 2 (34:46):
Your children are Greg's grandchildren. When the guy said, all right,
we're set up. Anything in here if they's good, you
got everything you need?
Speaker 3 (34:53):
You do not have snack?
Speaker 19 (34:54):
Bar bar bar bar?
Speaker 3 (34:56):
What about a snack?
Speaker 4 (34:58):
Gold fish?
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Where's Jammie?
Speaker 2 (35:05):
Where the snacks?
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Shut?
Speaker 3 (35:06):
Any cheeses? Golly g producer? Where's the snacks?
Speaker 8 (35:10):
So?
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Anyway, Oh, I don't like that?
Speaker 2 (35:16):
So anyway, crustable there? They're solid, of course, that's but anyway,
so what it kill us to have an almond? So
anyway the standard cracker? Right, So anyway, so we're ready
to go. And and this is the one guy I
never see. All he is is a voice.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
Okay, right case it is John out of Nashville. How
you doing? Do good? John? Which I can see you
all right? Uh?
Speaker 2 (35:42):
Tell you what Lane talk to the local producer. Okay,
let's let's get let's get started. I'm just gonna hang
here a minute. And if I feel like it's kind
of running smoothly. I'll probably back on out. And and
this is when you would have felt so bad for
the local guy who we've worked with before in the past.
We've I think we worked with him way back, so he.
Speaker 3 (35:59):
Knew well and uh, you didn't remember the snacks.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
But but when if you you could almost feel in
his you know that when the national guy started backing out,
that he almost had that don't leave me, you know.
And my biggest problem was if I can get past rule.
I think, I think, I'm I think I'm good.
Speaker 5 (36:19):
It's it's two syllables. That's the only problem. You're saying
it as one syllable. R.
Speaker 3 (36:22):
Yeah, it's a rule like that rule rural. It's not
a real it's not a rule. Well, let me tell
you all this. Let me let me tell you. Let
me tell you what it was like. So when it
when it when it's when it came out. You know
how you you know how you look. You know you're
watching a ball game and nobody sure whether the guy's
in bounds or not.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Let's have a look at this.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
So I start out and I fully expect them to
stop me. I thought, Man, if I can just run
through this and all of a sudden I read it
and nobody was stopping me thought like that, and I
just and I just and I just kept on going.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
And it's it's almost like both of them when I
said it, they were almost like officials, let's have a
look at it. That in there, and they're running up
like that, Oh he's in bounce. He got in like that.
Often they looked right there and they went.
Speaker 2 (37:08):
And he did it, And I think they just kind
of thought good enough because the national guy had heard
me try to say it a few times, because I
think he'd already come in with if he can just
get close Because I'm I am a guy from you know,
Calhoun County, Alabama, and we're reading about the culture that
you and I grew up in. I don't think anybody
wants to hear me say it in a way. We
(37:30):
wouldn't say where we're from, right, as long as you
can understand. But again, achieving off low expectations, vulnerable.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
Wasn't in it.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Yeah, Yeah, there was another one I struggled with. Embroidered, embroidered, embroidered, embroidered.
This is your book and you use the word embroidered. Yeah,
I think somebound the edit changed that word. I don't
think that's the word I used.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
Do you think I would have used that? No, that
dad had the logo embroidered on his coaching church, I.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
Wouldn't have said that.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
You would have said, but dazzled.
Speaker 3 (38:00):
And then there was another one that about embroidered had
its screen printed right, So we uh adder they used
the punch format. Do you know what that means? We're
gonna use the punch.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
Approach if you if you mess up, they punch you right.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
In the face.
Speaker 18 (38:16):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (38:17):
And that that was fine until I asked for a
juice box and then it went south.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
Juice box got five chapters done yesterday, got Boo Rural
Top of the Hour.
Speaker 1 (38:29):

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Anytime that Brazilian jiu jitsu is in it, when when
it's in the news, uh, Adler is going to be.
Speaker 3 (40:19):
Sure we cover it. And and today, Adler, this is
a you've warned people about those of you that that
know this art.
Speaker 4 (40:27):
Yeah, yeah, don't miss killers stone cold killers.
Speaker 3 (40:30):
Yeah, stone cold killers.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
We literally talked about this yesterday about you know, can
someone who does Brazilian jiu jitsu, you know, can they
can they protect you if you were attacked? I think
yesterday our scenario for some reason was a homeless man.
Speaker 7 (40:45):
Yes, it was.
Speaker 8 (40:46):
It was.
Speaker 3 (40:46):
He gave the scenario. We just got it. If he
lays down or sits down, he's got him, right.
Speaker 4 (40:50):
So they would kick if I ever went to prison,
they would kick me out of the prison.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
So here's you be too dangerous?
Speaker 8 (40:55):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (40:56):
All right?
Speaker 2 (40:56):
So what happens here? And here is the headline, jiu
jitsu teachers help Chattanooga purse snatching victim. It looks like
this person decided to snatch the purse of an elderly woman,
but they did it in front of a jiu jitsu
what would you call it, academy, academygal school.
Speaker 4 (41:18):
Whatever you wanna call it.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
What is Joe dojo?
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Sinsey? See this is courtesy of News nine. Here is
their story on what happened.
Speaker 20 (41:31):
Teenager from Chattanooga pit the law.
Speaker 4 (41:33):
All wait a second, my music is still going. It
was right at the break of the song, so I
didn't know somebody.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
It's okay, man, come on, it's all right.
Speaker 20 (41:39):
From Chattanooga pit the wrong place to allegedly try and
steal a woman's purse.
Speaker 21 (41:45):
A group of men come to arrest you. In the
moments after the thief tried to run away. A martial
arts academy and Channanooga posted these photos of social media.
They say several teachers students saw the teen stealing the
purse from the woman and then tried to run away.
Zack of the thief knock a woman to the ground.
He found himself pinned the ground himself.
Speaker 14 (42:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (42:05):
One of the men who helped catch the thief is
a Chattoo police officer who was off duty at the time.
The group of men kept the teen detained until on
duty police got there.
Speaker 21 (42:14):
Evolution on Line Sarah Howard spoke with several people involved
in this story and has of.
Speaker 4 (42:18):
This from tell Us.
Speaker 19 (42:19):
Sarah started outside of this dollar tree and says she
was minding her business loading balloons into her car, which
she felt a tug on her purse. Without warning. A
teenager then lunch at her through to the ground and
snatched that bag.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
And I thought, no, you're not getting my bag.
Speaker 19 (42:34):
But Cherry Streaty wasn't going down without a fight.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
We're going to struggle.
Speaker 19 (42:39):
You may get it, but we're going to struggle. Yes,
just a few feet away, several members of the Chattanooga
Jiu Jitsu Academy were in the middle of Yes, Chattanoo
could Jiu Jitsu Academy member Nicole McCamish was the first
to notice the commotion, and I was.
Speaker 3 (42:52):
Like, yo, yo yo, because they were all on the
matter ready, And then I know that lady the woman
running after him, and that's when I just took off.
Speaker 19 (42:59):
Oh, mister rand Cherry. Our members chased down the teenager
using their training. They held the teenager down until on
duty officers arrived.
Speaker 3 (43:08):
He was very compliant and at that point I think
he was ready for the whole thing to be over with.
She says.
Speaker 19 (43:13):
Their training prepared them to step in without hesitation, something about.
Speaker 12 (43:17):
What would I want somebody else to do if that
was my daughter, if that was my mother, if that
was my grandmother. And I think is a society, we
owe it to ourselves to stand up for one another
and help each other out where we can.
Speaker 19 (43:27):
Chattanooga Police Lieutenant Jason Wood was off duty and also
jumped into help. He has a message for the suspect.
Speaker 6 (43:33):
I hope this is the first and last time he
ever decides to make any poor decision like this.
Speaker 19 (43:39):
Sherry says she has something she'd like the team to know.
Crime don't pay. And for the members of the academy
that stepped.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
Into help, oh my gosh, they're my heroes. I'm telling you,
I was overwhelmed.
Speaker 19 (43:52):
We are heroes over in Chattanooga. I'm so appreciative. Chadanega's
finest Sarah Howard news.
Speaker 2 (44:02):
I love she said, I ain't giving it up easy.
If you're gonna take my person, you're gona earn it.
Speaker 11 (44:06):
We don't.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
We're gonna struggle, were gonna strike. I saw a lot
of black belts and purple belts in there, but yeah.
Speaker 4 (44:13):
I knew the jiu jitsu academy looks legit.
Speaker 3 (44:18):
The suspect said he had just about had the person.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
He made a mistake of sitting down, and once he
sat down, the Brazilian jiu jitsu people were all over.
Speaker 4 (44:26):
We work on takedowns. I can't stress that enough. We
work on taking You don't have to be seated.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
But I looked at some of the training when they
showed you on the map. Yeah, don't, don't you want
to see.
Speaker 5 (44:38):
By the way, seriously, really this jiu jitsu lady, I
know her like she's been in every every there's one
of these ladies at every academy.
Speaker 4 (44:47):
She shows up every class you are. You're like, wow,
you're at every class I'm at. So you're really good.
You come all the time, you know.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
So props to everybody out, props to everybody in the video. Yeah,
three stripes on a purple belt. This look, this woman
could beat me up.
Speaker 18 (44:59):
She was.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
Somebody in the video shows way to go, Nicole. Don't
know if that's what you call it. He just say,
way to go, n Cole.
Speaker 4 (45:07):
Yeah, so nice side control. That's good.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
Pressure right there.
Speaker 4 (45:11):
That's not where you want to be. That's not where
you want to.
Speaker 3 (45:13):
Be making him like it done. By the way, you
know what I'm saying. When you beat up somebody, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (45:19):
Yeah, we know what you mean, buddy, we know what
you mean.
Speaker 3 (45:24):
Honestly, if you go back and look, I think he
is like.
Speaker 4 (45:28):
People are trying to sign up for jiu jitsu.
Speaker 22 (45:31):
Okay, sir, okay, sir, tap out, I'm good.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Are you ready to give up?
Speaker 5 (45:36):
Guy?
Speaker 1 (45:37):
I'm there?
Speaker 4 (45:39):
This isn't that bad? I'm not a quitter.
Speaker 3 (45:41):
I'm not a quitter. You move in thirty seconds, I'm fine.
Speaker 4 (45:44):
I can only stand five more minutes of this. I'm
going to sleep around here.
Speaker 3 (45:53):
Have you had enough? No speedy? Well, that's what's we're
talking fighting term. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (46:02):
North south, north south?
Speaker 3 (46:03):
You know you know you say something, I'm a whoop
you button, make you like it. That's what I mean about.
You're getting worse. It's just getting worse. Just down. It
was a jiu jitsu right right right.
Speaker 4 (46:19):
Huge props to this police officer for doing jiu jitsu.
I wish I was he's he's congratulating. Huge props to
that police officer for doing jiu jitsu.
Speaker 5 (46:32):
I wish in America we just gave police officers free
jiu jitsu classes.
Speaker 4 (46:37):
I think that would help them so much. You get
used to.
Speaker 3 (46:43):
Because sometimes they have to take somebody down to the ground.
Speaker 4 (46:46):
Yes, you get used to controlling people using your club.
Speaker 16 (46:51):
You've got.
Speaker 3 (46:55):
Me, I get it kind of.
Speaker 5 (46:57):
I mean, if they're tired, that doesn't excuse you just
to shoot a person.
Speaker 4 (47:02):
We've seen that open.
Speaker 3 (47:05):
If they won't, if they won't go to if they
don't listen to instructions, Greg, just say go to the
club person, not first.
Speaker 4 (47:12):
They're trying to de escalate. De escalate.
Speaker 5 (47:16):
Jiu Jitsu is the greatest thing ever, because you can,
you can the greatest thing ever.
Speaker 7 (47:20):
You can.
Speaker 3 (47:20):
You just the greatest thing ever.
Speaker 4 (47:22):
You can subdue a person and not even hurt them.
That is the whole thing. That's the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
But aren't you supposed to try to hurt people to
get them stop behaving the way they're behaving, not injured them.
Speaker 5 (47:31):
You might cause discomfort, you might cause them discomfort, but
it's not going to injure them. They can stand up
and be totally.
Speaker 3 (47:37):
You're subway.
Speaker 23 (47:40):
You're telling me, subway, Gregg, Greg, Greg, I mean, I
ain't saying he didn't deserve it, right, but that was
that was like it was in a jiu jitsu move.
Speaker 8 (47:51):
He was.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
But that guy had like tons of cocaine in them
and fentanyl or something.
Speaker 2 (47:56):
You're telling me if somebody was grabbing your wife's purse
and you came upon you, make sure had im.
Speaker 3 (48:00):
I don't want to hurt you.
Speaker 4 (48:01):
I'm just going to subdue you. No, I'm not saying that. No,
I'm saying that jiu jitsu allows for that.
Speaker 3 (48:06):
You're like that, sir, lay down because I'm about to
get on you.
Speaker 5 (48:09):
We do takedowns for the last double leg, all right,
double a takedowns, single leg, high cross, anything like that, anything.
Speaker 7 (48:20):
Like that, sir, you okay, do you need help?
Speaker 3 (48:22):
She's she's sir, Now, I got it right where I want.
Speaker 1 (48:31):
This is the Rick Burgis show. Warning. In order to
truly benefit from this show, you must have a sense
of humor. So like No Francis and enjoy the rick Burgish.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
And here we go, moving forward again. Ain't you being here?
All right?
Speaker 2 (49:07):
A couple of things we need to pass along to you.
By the way, the folks said amac they love the show.
They said, man, the way you guys are responding, And
but that's simple. I mean, we all need this. If
you're you're liking.
Speaker 3 (49:21):
Us, you like us. You got a little age on
you now.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
And you remember when you start getting your AARP stuff
and you're like, oh, cool discounts, Oh this looks good,
and then you found out they're actually a lobby in
Washington for the left, and you're like, only part of that.
The left is taking this country. I don't like the
way it goes at all. That's not my ideology. But
if you want to be with a group that also
(49:45):
gives you incredible discounts, but they are a lobby in
Washington from the conservative point of view, then you need
to be like us and so many others Association of
Mature American Citizens. And yes, you get all those benefits.
You know, the discounts on travel and insurance and restaurants
and a.
Speaker 4 (50:04):
Lot of everyday services.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Yes you get help if you need help with your
Social Security and you need help with your Medicare Medicaid
that's available. You get America's number one conservative magazine. Right now,
you can become a member with all these benefits and
all this information in Washington. Five year membership normally sixty bucks.
We'll get you in at thirty one dollars. You go, well,
(50:28):
you're welcome. Thirty one dollars. Go to AMAC dot us
slash big Vox five years, thirty one dollars. Also there's
a link at Rick burgesshow dot com under the sponsors
be part of the movement that stands for you in
your future, The Association of Mature American Citizens. All right,
(50:48):
A couple of things that came off the text line.
Now one of them came and they're back again today
asking and Greg, you didn't feel good. We could tell
that the little baby brother wasn't feeling good. But it
was a question uestion to you and me, the Burgess brothers,
and they're always weising on this too about music, and
Speedy's been learning. I mean, you've been under our tuolage
(51:08):
for a while now, you're learning a lot about music,
and especially those of us who like to rock.
Speaker 6 (51:14):
Where y'all educate me? Is the meaning behind the song?
A couple of bands you didn't know about?
Speaker 3 (51:19):
Right?
Speaker 24 (51:19):
No?
Speaker 2 (51:19):
Yeah, we've helped track, we've helped you broaden out of
club music a little bit.
Speaker 7 (51:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (51:25):
Well but let's face it, some of it you shouldn't.
But the question was posed.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Greg, and you weren't feeling good that day between you
running you in and out of the bathroom and then
to the trash can. Apparently in your office, the person asked,
do we give the band these two bands, Zebra or
Triumph anything when you get into the rock deal.
Speaker 3 (51:45):
I'm not familiar with Zebra at all.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
I'm not either the I've read about them.
Speaker 3 (51:50):
I think they still have the original members, but they
were that band that was right on the edge, and
they never they never hit it big.
Speaker 2 (51:57):
They were closed and then everything changed. I've never heard
Zebra before, never heard of them.
Speaker 3 (52:01):
No I haven't either. I've just heard them lifted back
a lot of times. They're the bands that should have
been big. Now I know where you are on Triumph. Oh,
I'm all about Triumph. Is there a trio like I said,
watch you two?
Speaker 4 (52:13):
Here he goes.
Speaker 3 (52:14):
I bet you he said that about US Festival.
Speaker 2 (52:16):
Go US Festival ninety three, I mean eighty three. Excuse me,
US Festival eighty three. Just watched that, and you'll it's
unreal that three guys can.
Speaker 3 (52:24):
Pull that off. Before we were playing tracks behind everything.
Speaker 4 (52:27):
I need to give Triumph more.
Speaker 2 (52:29):
I had to play well, Rick Emmitt's unbelievable guitar player
and can sing drummer scenes. Also they split lee drummer scenes.
Speaker 3 (52:38):
Yeah good, No, they're.
Speaker 2 (52:40):
They're really really good, really good. Okay, Well and then
roll down. I think there's another one.
Speaker 8 (52:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:45):
It was about Radio Gog Yeah yeah, yeah. How we
feel about Queen Radio God. We've discussed that a lot.
I don't like the song Radio God.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
Guy.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
I understand where you would say it would be great
an intro for a radio show, and we do play
it sometimes, the bad music. We never made an intro
out of it, but you're right, it would be a
good one. But the thing with Triumph is, I this
is what's weird. If you ever had a band that
people said you need to give them more and you
actually agree with that, but you just can't. Yes, I
don't know why I can't give them more, but I
(53:16):
just can't.
Speaker 4 (53:16):
I hear a quick snippet from eighty three US festival.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
Yeah, and this is live are They're in Russia?
Speaker 1 (53:28):
So that Russia.
Speaker 9 (53:29):
They're very rush.
Speaker 4 (53:36):
Yeah, that's good stuff.
Speaker 3 (53:38):
I think they're extremely talented. And I saw the documentary
on them. But would I ever like, you know, in
my Subaru start rolling Triumph as I rolled along, See
that didn't feel right. Let me try it again. Back
to the car. That is damage, you know. I climb
up in my ram truck and at fifteen hundred, let
trump see that sounds so much better.
Speaker 7 (53:59):
I just do.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
I refuse to listen to them. I don't know why
I want. You would like follow your heart, I think,
and just watch it. It's good. Which one is more
surprising that I don't give them anything.
Speaker 4 (54:11):
Or Adler.
Speaker 3 (54:12):
I think he's so young.
Speaker 2 (54:14):
He's so young, he can't Yeah, but you compared, they're
not as progressive as Rush.
Speaker 3 (54:19):
They're both from Canada, and they're both trios. That's oh,
that's right.
Speaker 4 (54:23):
I forgot there from Canada, and but.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
They're more they're not as progressive. You know, Rush Rush.
You know, sometimes they can get really really strange. I'm
not I'm not huge on Rush. I got there's about
six Rush songs that I really like. I like something.
Speaker 2 (54:38):
Now, let me tell you when we were Iculous, when
we were in Speedy's truck rolling to Hotlanta last we
cranked Tom Sawyer.
Speaker 3 (54:47):
And we were rocket. I mean we had a blast.
Speaker 2 (54:51):
Yeah, if that comes on, well and and but but no,
now you give me Rick, you're going to listen to
some triumph or you're going to listen to Rush, then
I would go Rush, Yeah, because I like their songs better.
Speaker 4 (55:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (55:04):
Now on Zebra, anything about they got the texture here
says they got some resurgence because Johnny of Cobra Kai
wore a concert shirt.
Speaker 3 (55:15):
He always warmed during this. I didn't notice that. I
did not know that.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
But they're always in the groups that should have made
it big. When people have like on Eddie Trump, want
I listen to him?
Speaker 3 (55:24):
Do they have enough cult following that they still did okay?
Or no? I don't think they ever and I think
they still tour. I doubt they.
Speaker 4 (55:31):
Draw don't want to hear a quick snippet of Zebra.
Speaker 3 (55:34):
Would you mind? I don't think I've ever even heard Zebra.
I don't think I have any here. But that's an
actual Zebra.
Speaker 14 (55:42):
Zebra.
Speaker 3 (55:42):
That's an actual Zebra. Oh, it's an actual.
Speaker 2 (55:45):
Well that may be close. Oh yeah, somebody put Tesla
up there? You talking about my favorite bands of all time?
Oh yeah, now we go on Tesla to guitar just rock. Yeah,
if you want to release the Burgess Brothers, you bring
up Tesla. We love Tesla.
Speaker 4 (56:01):
Here's here's Zebra for real the mad Are you straight up?
Speaker 3 (56:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 15 (56:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (56:03):
I like the other ones.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
WI slipped away?
Speaker 3 (56:08):
He went with a slow song.
Speaker 4 (56:09):
I just did their most popular on YouTube.
Speaker 3 (56:11):
Okay, I've already lost interest? Yeah I know, then that
was How did you lose interest? That quick?
Speaker 4 (56:20):
Who's behind the door was the name of that one?
Speaker 3 (56:22):
That was really quick?
Speaker 4 (56:22):
That was very fast.
Speaker 3 (56:24):
He's like two beats. I just knew that wasn't for me.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Don't if you want to say, try this library, your
first run at me needs to be something with an
incredible riff, and then I'll and then I'll finally and
then I'll finally get to something like that exactly.
Speaker 4 (56:38):
But gave me ten seconds alert. It was the fact
that I played the Zebra sounds first. Rick was done
with it then.
Speaker 2 (56:44):
Right, I actually liked it better, had a hard time,
and there was a moment in there. Now it has passed,
there was a moment in there when I really was interested, y'all.
I wanted to I wanted to hear if they were
any good, y'all.
Speaker 3 (56:54):
Not gonna like them.
Speaker 6 (56:54):
Somebody said they saw Zebra but for lover Boy. One
time I saw a lover Boy lines and they were
really good. The weekend, okay, I saw a lover Boy
and Survivor opened.
Speaker 4 (57:05):
Up for really at the BJA season. How about this.
Speaker 3 (57:09):
I once opened up for Survivor even better? Which man
was out?
Speaker 4 (57:15):
You remember I didn't happen club.
Speaker 1 (57:18):
This is the Rick Burgess show.
Speaker 4 (57:30):
What we're back?
Speaker 3 (57:36):
All right?
Speaker 2 (57:37):
So those of you that are not watching on YouTube,
I found a Zebra song in the break. I'll see
if you'd a lad with that riff. But now that
I hear the lyrics coming in, I don't think they're
very good. I'm I like that opening riff, but boy,
didn't it kind of fell apart?
Speaker 4 (57:52):
Yeah, it's not my thing.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
All right, I'm thumbs down on Zebra. No wonder they
didn't make it. Yeah, I don't think you.
Speaker 7 (57:56):
Was that great.
Speaker 3 (57:58):
You know, I'm just saying, what is it you mentioned?
Speaker 5 (58:00):
It?
Speaker 3 (58:01):
Is it their style? I mean, what is it that
so quickly you go, well, if there's no thump to it?
Speaker 2 (58:08):
So when you hear this, you kind of think, okay,
so I'm thinking that a singer is gonna kick in
right here that I'm gonna like.
Speaker 3 (58:18):
Yeah, I mean he's also oh yeah, maybe, oh yeah,
it's almost is it the singer?
Speaker 2 (58:28):
What it sounds like is the guy who's singing was
like the guy who started the band, and he found
some really cool musicians and uh, and it's like he
owned all the equipment, he owned all the equipment.
Speaker 4 (58:40):
He books all the gigs. Right, that's all that that worked.
Speaker 6 (58:42):
Have y'all ever liked a band but not really the
lead singer, But the band's so good, y'all y'all stay.
Speaker 4 (58:48):
With it Dream Theater.
Speaker 5 (58:49):
Yes, the band that canceled because the vocalist couldn't sing
when I rove to Atlanta.
Speaker 3 (58:53):
I bet you don't like that singer.
Speaker 4 (58:54):
Now you really don't like him? Yeah, well I shouldn't
say all that, so you just live with that.
Speaker 3 (58:59):
I mean that you can't hide elite singer. Guys.
Speaker 2 (59:01):
Okay, this is gonna be this is gonna be painful.
But I'm looking at Greg and I think he's going
to agree with me, even though we liked this best
best version of the band. Honestly, David Lee Roth live bad. Yeah,
he was a great show. The band was better than
the singer. And David Lee Roth actually would ruin sometimes
(59:22):
the live performance.
Speaker 3 (59:23):
Yeah, he was not good live at all. Now he
ran the show was good. The show was great and
he and he was such a good front man.
Speaker 4 (59:31):
He looked good, didn't sound good.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
You let him get away with it, but you you would.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
There were times that you you would only recognize the
van Halen song and concert by the riff and the
background vocals.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
When the hook would hit you and go, oh, that's
dancing night away. I'll say this though, when he was solo,
he live, he was a little better. You remember we
saw him live. Yeah, and I even saw him on
the next One's great when he flew across the audience
on a surfboard. Yes, because now that's when he's starting
to dabble.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
He yeah, yet, little Poppy, there's no way you were
okay with him doing those like show tune things.
Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
No, No, that little ep he broke the band up.
Speaker 4 (01:00:09):
About the EP that broke the better not be the biggest.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
You better not be okay with just a jiggal I
hated just California, California.
Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
You better not be okay with that.
Speaker 3 (01:00:17):
I don't know, because we'll have a problem.
Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
Run the band.
Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
It ruined that their biggest record ever in nineteen eighty four,
and then he did that, he ruined.
Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
I gotta say, as Guns and Roses age, watch it,
axles not watch it.
Speaker 4 (01:00:32):
Voice is not holding up. But he's one of the best.
Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
But he's like this, oh really yeah, And I'll say this,
and you don't like this band at all, and I
understand why, But I would like Iron Maiden more if
they had a different singer. Yes, okay, because they're the
guitars and all their and drums and all that are
in a great example. They're incredible, but that'll he.
Speaker 4 (01:00:54):
Going to throw up what's going on?
Speaker 3 (01:00:56):
No, he's fine.
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
That there's something going on with one of the stations
and he's trying to help them. It looks like something weird.
So anyway, so forse to be technical. In fact, I
know this is kind of embarrassing, but they actually had
two singers. He was not their original Andy, but he
was the one when they were the most famous. He
still isn't it because still another one of those bands
that I just could never get into. Well, they can play,
(01:01:18):
though they're weird and it can be a little demonic
at times.
Speaker 3 (01:01:21):
Yeah, well that's a problem.
Speaker 4 (01:01:22):
But man, a little gay?
Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
Really?
Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
I thought, no, you're thinking about Judas Priest.
Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
Oh, I am thinking of Judas Priest.
Speaker 3 (01:01:31):
You know, you know pretty good, you know what's interesting
good too? But wow, gay, Yeah, that's the It was.
Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
Really interesting right there is how quickly Greg. Everybody had
their gay information a little bit off and Greg corrected it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:42):
Thank you, Greg? Straight straight Greg.
Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
I'm afraid you're confusing gay singers of metal bands.
Speaker 5 (01:01:47):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Yes, let me say you're rare, but get it wrong.
They're rare and I can tell you that he will
give you the y Yeah, anybody, Hey, it's not real.
He got that metal scream. He does.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Let me tell you what's funny. It's kind of going
a weigh in on this on the text because I
think this is funny. The people in the text, there's
tons of them, are saying in Birmingham right now we're
talking Flagship okay of the radio network, that that something
has has changed and a Christian herbalist is now in
(01:02:24):
our slot and is selling herbs as God's medicine and
while over the top of the show, which is hilarious
now troubling, but I don't know how.
Speaker 3 (01:02:35):
That would happen, but that's who I had to call.
I'm sorry, Oh, I know you did.
Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
Did you tell Tom? Do you tell them that?
Speaker 3 (01:02:42):
Well, let's get Greg mix straight down to while we're
getting the Christian herballess on.
Speaker 6 (01:02:46):
But he says, he says he's on it. He's trying
to figure out. I'd think he's like, mellow, it's like
a gosh, y'all. I don't think funny that is.
Speaker 2 (01:02:59):
It's one thing for our show to be taken over
by another show, but the fact that the show that's
taking us over in Birmingham right now is a Christian
herbalist who's selling God's medicine. I'm sorry, that's hilarious.
Speaker 3 (01:03:11):
Now it's bad. I mean, you can't have that. But
I'm just talking about that's funny. It's so weird that
it would just happen now, right And you know, I
looked in Speedy.
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
I saw him reacting to things that were flying on
the text right in the middle of us talking about
metal bands.
Speaker 3 (01:03:24):
Yeah, but it's hold on, it's nature hold on.
Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
Recognized.
Speaker 6 (01:03:31):
Yeah, it's people are sending us. What they're hearing is
our flagships day for those of you around. Everybody said
that they had to well, you.
Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
Don't want to know. Apparently her name Sister Barbara. Sister Barbara.
We've been replaced by Sister Barbara. Guys, is there some
meeting schedule I don't know about. I don't know. I
don't know he's on it, though, I guess I don't.
I'm gonna do.
Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
I'm want to say this, I don't know, I don't
know who's in charge of the tech side of Sister Barbara.
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
But if you're able to hack and take over our
show with your show with an infomercial.
Speaker 14 (01:04:05):
That guy is.
Speaker 3 (01:04:06):
Let me tell you that's a that's a good it team.
M hm, yeah, And I don't I don't, I don't
know it. But what happened at about thirty two minutes
past the hour?
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
Okay, so ten minutes now, So do.
Speaker 6 (01:04:18):
You think this is a commercial or is it a
full blong shing? I think something triggered and it's ignoring
the commands.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
I guess, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:04:25):
It's an engineering nightmare. I can tell you that for
old super Time, Well, well this is well, this is
one of the things you've done with it.
Speaker 3 (01:04:31):
Yeah, I know a lot of you and I'm just
I'm gonna pull the curtain back a little bit here
because you know, we love to do that and it
really infuriates Speedy too.
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
But what's happening in the industry is what we now have.
In the old days, it was completely different. But what
we now have is we have a tremendous number of
radio stations.
Speaker 6 (01:04:50):
Okay, so they say if you call right now and
get six months ready, nine dollars.
Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
Somebody said that Barbara's got secured the type two diabetes. Also,
I might need to listen.
Speaker 3 (01:05:01):
You need God your medicine. I'll you. But but let's
go back to this. What we have now is we
have we have a number. We have a number of
that's the best take so far. We have a number.
Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
We have a number of radio stations now, and I
would say the majority of them. Okay, unless it's still
a mom and pop organization, even they're doing it to
some degree. We have an overwhelming number of radio stations
that sit unattended. Nobody's tending to them, and they're trying
to make them all run themselves. And there's a you know,
automation and all this. There was a time when, like
(01:05:39):
when we heard the other day somebody was having technical
trouble with the show, and it was two or three
days before anyone ever told us, well, the reason why
no one's tending.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
No one's tending it.
Speaker 4 (01:05:48):
Automation has its drawbacks.
Speaker 3 (01:05:50):
But what I'm saying is, but let me go further.
I'm going further than that. I don't have a problem
with modern technology as long as it works well. But
there was a time you wouldn't leave the place un
you know, untended. There's no one tend to it, at
least protection, no one's there, no one's watching, no one says, hey,
that we got the wrong thing on the air. No
one's saying, hey, the commercial breaks are clipping by the
(01:06:14):
time people find out it's been going on. There was
a time where if what was on the air.
Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Was just the slight bit off, just the slightest bit off,
someone would be running down the hall trying to get
it resolved. And most of the stations don't operate that
they're down to skeleton crewise cruise and you've got radio
stations sitting there with nobody in the building or no
one tending to that particular studio, and things are going
(01:06:39):
on on the air that there was a time in
radio people would have got fire of you, okay, and.
Speaker 3 (01:06:44):
No one tends to it. No one's on top of it.
You know why.
Speaker 2 (01:06:48):
That's not people doing a bad job. There's not enough people.
There's just not enough people to do it. And that's
the reason why you hear things go on and you're like, wow,
so I'm back again today and still hasn't got that off.
Speaker 3 (01:07:00):
Well, a lot of times no one's even noticed at you.
Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
Yeah, got to it, yeah, because no one is tending
the shop, no one's watching what's going on and listening
to what's going on.
Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
And staying on top of it.
Speaker 6 (01:07:12):
Now that now there's kind of a phrase, Hey, I
need I need to I need to get there, because
you actually have to touch something. In other words, you
can't you can't work on it remotely. You actually have
to go in there and physically touch something, turned something down,
move something.
Speaker 3 (01:07:26):
That's why you have somebody tending to yah. Yeah, that's why.
Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
That's why you got to have human beings paying attention,
so when things go south, they go in there resolve it.
We had a situation going on with one of our
feelings that's gone on for for months, months and just
now getting around to figuring it out.
Speaker 6 (01:07:43):
And this is where terrestrial radio has to be smart
because you know what happens when they have trouble doing that.
They'll go to an app, they'll go to the stream
of service, do this, and then they leave that format.
Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
So it's tough.
Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
There was a time if there was a slight pause
coming out coming out of a commercial into the next song,
into the next show, if there was even a remote
smidge of that air, somebody get fired on.
Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
Oh yeah, and those days are long long gone. We'll
be right back.
Speaker 1 (01:08:13):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Count to the man
who pointed out that there is no such thing as
bolderless wings.
Speaker 2 (01:08:34):
Rick Burges, we're back and we've sent Speedy out for
those of you in Birmingham. I love how people too,
and we got to we got to stop this a
little bit. The great shoot ready aim when it comes
to technology.
Speaker 4 (01:08:53):
Hey, man, I can't believe that.
Speaker 3 (01:08:55):
Is this how bad it is?
Speaker 2 (01:08:56):
Is this what shows come to? So now y'ave got
to sell an infomer Schultz somebody doing herbs. Guys, Now,
this is some sort of technical breakdown in the system
that is not supposed to be playing.
Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
No, no, that's man, this is how bad it's gotten.
Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
Taking over.
Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
Uh So some people said they were convinced the rapture
had happened, and this is someone speaking on behalf of God.
So I don't know what it is, how it's happened, whatever,
but it's it's pretty funny. So we've got We've sent
Speedy to see if it's still going on.
Speaker 4 (01:09:30):
I know some of you can, and you texted and
said we're back to normal.
Speaker 3 (01:09:34):
Yeah, just now.
Speaker 5 (01:09:35):
Also the Christian herbalist that you were here and that
wasn't my show. You'll stop saying that, all right, right, some.
Speaker 2 (01:09:41):
Of you were asking, is it possible that Bubba, with
his technic technological expertise, took over the show and now
was playing excerpts from his new podcast. Uh Bubba Bubba
on the Lake has teamed up with Sister Barbara. Uh
no that all those are hilarious by the way. So yeah,
so no, no, no texture, We have not sold out.
(01:10:03):
And just how it's upbod it's gotten now. It was
some kind of weird I don't we'll get to the
end of it. But like I said, it kind of
goes back to what I said a minute ago. We
got a bunch of radio stations now with nobody tending
the shop, and when something goes south, it's now takes.
Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
A lot longer to get it resolved than it used to.
So so anyway, so that but that's that's part of it,
and and those of you.
Speaker 2 (01:10:28):
But what gets me is because you know, with the
modern technology, I mean, you can pick your affiliate on
their app too. So one person was texting from South
Dakota that was listening to w z Z case appe.
Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
You know, so they can stream that anywhere. You know
that you may just prefer the programming of the affiliate,
which is great. And he was like, hey, what what,
what's up? What's up with the what is this? And
I find myselfter Barber. I wish there was some way
I could go back and hear it because Greg, just
people are trying to be too funny. Okay, all right,
(01:11:04):
right now, that's not what the herbs were for, right
And by the way, if y'all do want to get
good a discount, remember the code is big Vox, so the.
Speaker 4 (01:11:15):
With a V with the victor Victor fox a big bob.
Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
So yeah, so anyway, all right, so is it channer cat?
So anyway, I put on the wheel a bundle from
sister Barber.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
You know what, that would be funny. Put it on
the wheel. Somebody get with sister Barbara. By the way,
you know, if we can get her down to a
sixty second spot, let's make her sponsor.
Speaker 4 (01:11:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
It sounds like she's a little more of an INFO
commercial style, but God's medicine. So so there you go,
uh speedy, speaking of things in the spiritual realm? There
what and I know with with us even even it's
always been this way. Things that are super serious, super
(01:12:04):
serious you know, can go south.
Speaker 3 (01:12:05):
That's not.
Speaker 2 (01:12:05):
We talked about, you know, the wedding last week and
all that, this one, okay, So I'm trying to think
how they approach this. But so and it's an honor,
is what it is. And and so I have a
you know, a friend who I go to church with
(01:12:28):
and we teach together. And you've you've heard me talk
about him on the show Primetime, works with man Church
Blake Prime.
Speaker 4 (01:12:36):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
So in Blake's he is he loves the Lord, and
he he shares his faith, you know, with with everyone,
and which is what we're commanded to do.
Speaker 3 (01:12:50):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
So he went to to some deal in Dallas and
encountered a man and worked with the man and and
and and led him to to you know, to give
his his life to Christ and to place his faith
and in Jesus and in the New beginning. And and
the guy's extremely excited about that, as as we all
(01:13:13):
should be. And of course we know that that means,
you know, it's it's baptism is coming.
Speaker 19 (01:13:21):
And so.
Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
He comes to me and he said, would you mind
being the person who baptizes him at church?
Speaker 1 (01:13:31):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (01:13:31):
Yeah, sure, be happy to do that. But what an honor?
Speaker 2 (01:13:35):
And you know this you know, water baptism always leads,
you know, because we're we're Baptists, so you know, we're
we're we're immersed. We don't sprinkle, okay, And so, uh,
it's you know, it can it can be au, it
can be an awkward thing. I mean, it's uh, it's
it's it's not a simple process usually.
Speaker 9 (01:13:57):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
And and you don't want to mess it up. Now,
that's so number one on the list. And you know
me in these situations is always potential for anything. And
so we're talking and I say, well, I want to
you know, talk to him and get his testimony, to
understand his story all that. So we're talking and uh
(01:14:19):
and Blake's as well, to need to let you in
on something. Look at Speedy, I said, okay, And you
know I'm not a small guy. I mean I'm not
like gigantic, but you wouldn't say small, you know. He said,
(01:14:39):
he's four hundred plus what And I said, oh, he said,
and he's a really big man. That's uh, that's a
lot of man getting in that tub. And and then
there's the there's the buried with Christ in baptism. Then
(01:15:00):
I got to raise him up to the newness of life.
Speaker 3 (01:15:03):
And that's I mean, can they put their toes behind
the bar to help set up? Well, we're gonna we're
gonna talk to him about Look, I don't know how
many sit ups you've done, but I need you. You
got to pull you in. I mean, that's a lot.
That's a that's when is this taking place? Sundayday is coming,
(01:15:25):
that's a lot.
Speaker 6 (01:15:27):
That's a lot of torso, Yeah, visits to visit this one.
Y'all realize is that why Blake's not doing well? It's
the church? Yeah, I understand.
Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
You can have it. You can you can agree or disagree, understood,
But the church doesn't let just anybody I got you
do the Baptist And that's not hard. Not that I
don't think Blake should, but I'm talking. They have certain
things that you know, they just say it have to
beah yeah and understood.
Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
So I keep thinking, if I get him down there,
you know, I mean, I've gotta I gotta take him down,
I gotta get him back up.
Speaker 3 (01:16:04):
And that's a that's a lot of man, Yes, a
lot of man getting a little nervous about it. His
head does have to go under it. You don't start
pulling him up when he barely goes back. Hey, and
you do need to get him back up.
Speaker 25 (01:16:16):
I know I do.
Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
That's the part I'm wordy about it. Yes, that you
can hold his breath. Well, don't y'all think I have
to say? Look, I need you to come come on
up with me.
Speaker 5 (01:16:25):
Now?
Speaker 6 (01:16:25):
Is there do you know in the baptism is there?
You know the little bar that you can put your
feet under.
Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
Yeah, we've got something. Is that there? Yeah? I think
that's going to be cruise Showal.
Speaker 4 (01:16:37):
You need to get your grips right. He needs to
get his on you know, you grab your wrists.
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
What if he pulls me over in there where hopefully
sours you stand on the outside of it.
Speaker 3 (01:16:48):
You don't get in the water, and I'm go'n be
leaning over. I'm not in there with him.
Speaker 4 (01:16:52):
Oh you're going in?
Speaker 3 (01:16:53):
What if he pulls me over the side? You're on
your tippy toe for sure. My legs are sticking up
in the air. Because everybody's saying, man.
Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
This is the Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
You better listen up.
Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
You know what we say all time in an.
Speaker 4 (01:17:25):
You gotta find.
Speaker 14 (01:17:31):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burchers Show we're back.
Speaker 4 (01:17:37):
Thank you for being with us today. What's up, America?
Speaker 3 (01:17:42):
You're doing all right?
Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
We've covered a lot already on the program today.
Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
And if you miss that, you missed a lot, you
go back and grab the Daily ar Guys on the
YouTube channel or the podcast challenge.
Speaker 3 (01:17:53):
Listen to the show on your own.
Speaker 4 (01:17:55):
Time and parts that you miss during your live run.
Now you want to make sure you eat it off.
Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
Okay, So a lot of people now chiming in emails
text as I have found out that I will have
the honor of baptizing someone on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (01:18:19):
That I've been told is uh, it's it's a big man.
It is a big big man. Only we would discuss
this a big big man. Greg, A little tidbited for
you hip hop artist? So, uh, have you been clear
to talk about this?
Speaker 3 (01:18:33):
Because I feel like you're just talking about a conversation
you had with something. Why would you not.
Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Talk about someone's testimony? So and in this in the
prep for this, because again you know we're baptists. This
is total immersion. Uh, this baptism area, I don't know
what you call it, the baptismal this this is one
of those you know that we're a little more modern.
(01:18:58):
We stand on the outside of the pool. Lean over,
lean over, don't I don't have to. I don't have
to wear waiters or anything like that. Remember the last
time I tried to do waiters, I put them on wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
So when they filled up.
Speaker 6 (01:19:11):
Uh, and this is too wide. I've seen it's too
wide for somebody to get on the other side and help.
Speaker 3 (01:19:16):
Well, you don't. I don't think it's just to help. Well,
I'm just saying that on the pool pool.
Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
A couple of things. People are asking because our audience
is so kind and gentle. He is there a live
stream of this? Thanks guys? By the way, there is,
by the way that there is. Uh, you know, I don't.
I never know.
Speaker 3 (01:19:33):
You know, like when you have two services, I don't
know if the service I'm in do they do them both?
They just do one. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:19:42):
You just do one. You don't baptize twice?
Speaker 3 (01:19:44):
No, no, no, I'm about do they live stream? Do
they live stream boat?
Speaker 18 (01:19:47):
No?
Speaker 3 (01:19:48):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
By the way, I thought less of a guy one
time found out a guy was doing that. The testimony
was so good.
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
He has kept doing it multiple services, And I'm I
don't know about baptizing people went over again. I don't
care for that. Can I ask you a ques she
ended up being a problem? Huh is it? You know
how a band has sound check? Can you go through
rehearsal practicing? I don't think so, just a fair well,
you never sometimes you never know how something, how hard
something is to you, like pick it up and you're like, wow,
this is heavy. Here's some here's some concerns. I need
(01:20:15):
to get my legs under this one.
Speaker 2 (01:20:17):
Here's here's some concern Yeah, here's some concerns. I have
the buancy factor. How much water is coming out when
he slides down in there?
Speaker 4 (01:20:26):
Displacement?
Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
Displacement? Can it come on me now? Now my Sunday
pants are wet? That could happen? Does he know you're
talking about this to the actual guy, the rapper that
you know you're baptized?
Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
Now, it's we're not talking about that. We're talking about
a big man. I think he's I think he's very tall.
Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
As well, So he's just a large guy. He's a
big man, big man and uh left tackle. Some people
saying we're going to find out whether Rick has committed
doing a lot better or just a little bit better,
ye would it be? Okay? I never claimed I could
lift four hundred some pounds. I'm trying to figure out
what you.
Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
Did say that you could bench two and forty five exactly.
I think about it.
Speaker 3 (01:21:02):
I don't wait too forty five, I said my bodyweight,
I wait too twenty eight. Yeah, and he's not being
you don't think I can one time, bitch to twenty eight.
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:21:10):
Absolutely, he said two forty five.
Speaker 3 (01:21:12):
I thought, no, don'e way too forty five. I never
said that. I said that. The guy said, can you do?
Can you bench your bodyweight? That's what I can now.
Speaker 2 (01:21:17):
I said I couldn't back when I weighed more, and
I think I threw, I said, even when I was
at two forty five.
Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
Probably no, that's probably where you heard that.
Speaker 4 (01:21:24):
Okay, yeah, but now, but you tear your bicep.
Speaker 3 (01:21:26):
Though, Well, someone's remember that this bicep right here detached
one time, and.
Speaker 6 (01:21:31):
It's your left one, and and that's your your left
one's gonna be the bruno.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Oh yeah, no, oh, no, oh no, raised to walk
and news of life. Hey, I can't struggle, guys, If
I struggled, that's good. Listen, he's gonna be straight and talking.
Here's what I gotta watch out. Here's what I gotta
watch out is not let my thoughts come out of
(01:21:57):
my mouth. Wow heavy, Yeah, I can't do things like
you know with christ in baptism. You ready you know
I can't do stuff like that. And then you hear
that coming out of you're wow, Like I'm saying that,
do they have floaties this? Do you think I should
(01:22:18):
go to the Do you think I should go to
the sound guy? And if I say, look there in
these moments where I might be making always pop me down. Hey,
you know that right foots coming up whenever he goes
to put he's gonna and they tip him over like teapot.
Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
People are concerned about my hip, people concerned about my bicep,
people concerned about my back. Is how about this When
I come back to this show on Monday, am I injured?
This guy's got somebody helping him.
Speaker 1 (01:22:47):
Yea happen.
Speaker 3 (01:22:50):
This is gonna happen.
Speaker 7 (01:23:00):
You got have toy I.
Speaker 4 (01:23:12):
Just searched baptism failed by the way he springs up.
Speaker 7 (01:23:23):
Okay, So.
Speaker 6 (01:23:25):
This I got to ask a question, could you go
could you go to the church and ask can I
get in with this one, and maybe you put some
waiters on and you're in there with him.
Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
It might be better.
Speaker 4 (01:23:37):
It might be better. I can't believe. Look and look
like a puppy to pull him up like a puppy.
Speaker 3 (01:23:44):
Yeah, this is a celebration. Everybody there is going to
be thinking about what you're thinking.
Speaker 12 (01:23:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23:49):
No, I think it's gonna be fine. It's gonna be fun.
And it looked like they were laughing. And what I
think I'm going to do.
Speaker 2 (01:23:56):
What I think I'm gonna do is I'll be but
hopefully back there with him, and I'm just gonna say,
look like you said, be sure and put your feet
right under here, yea.
Speaker 3 (01:24:05):
And and just you know, go with me, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:24:08):
So so I think, well when we come back, when
when I get back, Well, do I come back Monday injured?
Speaker 8 (01:24:16):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:24:16):
Wet? You're gonna be wet?
Speaker 4 (01:24:17):
Little bicep you might be sore. Yeah, your biceps can
be real sore.
Speaker 2 (01:24:22):
Yeah, you know, the the standing outside the pool. It
looks good on paper. But the problem is, and I've
noticed this, when you know you're going into the water
and you put on the waiters and all that you
you you're you're prepared clothing wise, and you know what
needs to stay dry whatever. You can even leave things
in the dressing room. This standing on the side. It
(01:24:44):
looks good on paper, but if you get wet, you're
just wet.
Speaker 3 (01:24:49):
They have they don't have anything for you to put
on that side.
Speaker 2 (01:24:51):
Uh no, no, man, You just try to roll your
sleeves up or wear short sleeves. You're gonna then they
give you a towel, you know, to wipe off your
arms and stuff. But if if you get wet, and
keep in mind the service isn't over, that's usually early
in the services, right, So I mean, do I go
back to the seat wet?
Speaker 4 (01:25:09):
Am I? Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:25:10):
So I mean you.
Speaker 5 (01:25:13):
Need to think about displacement. Here's a little graft showing.
Here's the water level without the ball in it. You
put a big ball in it, water goes up.
Speaker 4 (01:25:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:25:21):
Well they I'm sure they think about that. Oh yeah,
let me tell you what's out. Let me tell you

telling me what this was on?
Speaker 9 (01:27:53):
On?
Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
It was it Tuesday night?
Speaker 15 (01:27:56):
What was that it was?
Speaker 3 (01:27:57):
He talked to the Joint Session of It's like, I
couldn't get the name.
Speaker 4 (01:28:02):
It was in a State of the Union, but it.
Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
Felt like, yeah, they were doing that stupid pet rally
where you stand up. Thought about you a lot of Yeah, sure,
I'm sure it did great because you were sick, you didn't.
Speaker 5 (01:28:12):
Yeah, I figured out how to make it not so
bad with the ex all the applause breaks is I
waited for it to start. It was I was putting
the kids to bed and all that, and then I
played it at like one point seventy five speed, and
that really helped get rid of those pause breaks.
Speaker 2 (01:28:33):
If you remember all the way back in the years
of the Rick and Bubba Show. And this theme continues
because I still feel the same way. We have said,
if you want to bring peace to the Middle East,
anything that does not include all that victory, uh will,
There'll never be peace. The only thing and Limball used
(01:28:53):
to say this, and of course the great military minds
of our history have said this, the only thing that
peace actually follows is all out victory. And so when
you when it comes to the Middle East, and I
know Trump wants to try and others have too, to
find some way for there to be a resolution. But
(01:29:14):
if you can't get if one side in this conflict
wants the other side to be eradicated from the face
of the earth, you.
Speaker 3 (01:29:20):
Got problems so Trump is done.
Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
He's felt like he's tried to work with with Gaza,
and he's tried, He's offered some plans.
Speaker 3 (01:29:31):
Uh, he's trying to.
Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
Bring a cease fire, all these things that go on
and on and on, and he's he's announced to Homas,
I'm done.
Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
I'm done.
Speaker 2 (01:29:43):
Uh, and he's saying that he is now going to
give Israel everything it needs to finish the job in Gaza.
He went as far as to say to Jumas, you
are dead. Every time that we tried to get some
sort of cease fire. Are we make some sort of
deal for the release of hostages, You'll keep going back
(01:30:05):
on your word.
Speaker 3 (01:30:05):
Shocker.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
And he said, you can choose release all the hostages now,
not later, immediately return all of the dead bodies of
the people you murdered, or it's over for you.
Speaker 3 (01:30:19):
Over.
Speaker 2 (01:30:20):
And he said, I'm going to give the Israelis everything
they need to end this and end it completely. So,
I mean, I know that's uncomfortable and it makes some
of you maybe a little bit nauseous, but that.
Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
Is the only thing that's ever going to resolve this
is victory and there you are.
Speaker 4 (01:30:46):
Yeah, go ahead, Jelse He wrote shalom hamas that means
hello and goodbye. You can choose right now.
Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
So there you go when you tell your kids there's
an easy way in a hard way. Yes, So which
one do you choose? What do you choose? Other Trump
clips today? But that's a biggie because that's that's a
big you know, what goes on over there and the
Middle East, that's biggie. That's a big boy right there.
But you do have to choose sides. Nothing else works.
Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
And the reason why we know that is it's been
tripped open Mike from Trump's address.
Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
This is jd Vance and jd Vance is this is this?
This them chatting?
Speaker 5 (01:31:28):
Yeah, this is them chatting before it's jd Vance and
speaker Mike Johnson.
Speaker 4 (01:31:33):
All right, all right, here we go a little bit
of open mike here. By the way, I think the
speech is gonna be great. So I don't know how
to do this.
Speaker 7 (01:31:44):
The hardest thing was doing it during Biden.
Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
Mike Johnson's I'd say, you think it's stuff being up
here during this beech, you should have been up here
when Biden was there.
Speaker 3 (01:31:54):
And right after that Mike Johnson realized, oh wow, the
MIC's are on.
Speaker 4 (01:31:57):
Yeah, of my.
Speaker 3 (01:32:02):
Tell me about one be here?
Speaker 7 (01:32:03):
What is this?
Speaker 12 (01:32:04):
All?
Speaker 16 (01:32:04):
Right?
Speaker 5 (01:32:04):
So Nancy Mace, republican Trump supporter, maybe too much of
a Trump supporter, and Trump saw it coming. And there's
a move called the claw, where in which women maybe
get a little aggressive with their hug.
Speaker 3 (01:32:19):
That's called the claw.
Speaker 4 (01:32:20):
The claw.
Speaker 5 (01:32:20):
I did not come over your shoulders and claw, ye,
employ I did not know about the clone.
Speaker 4 (01:32:25):
Trump saw the clock coming. This is a pro move.
This is a veteran move here, okay, And he defeated
the claw.
Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
You guys seek he's coming through under her.
Speaker 4 (01:32:33):
He goes for the handshakes, She goes for the claw.
He intercepts the claw.
Speaker 3 (01:32:37):
And I didn't I didn't know about the claw.
Speaker 4 (01:32:40):
Yeah, I pro move right boom intercepted.
Speaker 3 (01:32:44):
Yeah, double hug over the shoulders would be tough.
Speaker 5 (01:32:46):
Yeah right right, yeah there trying to get printed.
Speaker 4 (01:32:50):
Okay, that's leadership right there.
Speaker 1 (01:32:53):
There you go?
Speaker 3 (01:32:54):
Uh c n N bit of a are y'all a
little shocked here? Viewers of Seeing.
Speaker 2 (01:33:02):
Viewers of CNN eighty percent thought that al Green's behavior
was inappropriate when he finally had to be escorted out.
Speaker 3 (01:33:12):
On Tuesday night. So that's a did you wake up
for that one. Yeah, okay, how much of a bit
was that? Grand standing? All right?
Speaker 26 (01:33:22):
Here it is well, which is wanting to get reaction
on Congressman Al Green's antics and being ejected. Eighty percent
of speech watchers said that the Democratic congressman's interrupting of
Trump's speech was inappropriate. Only twenty percent of speech watchers
thought what Green did was appropriate.
Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
Eeric, that's a big number. You know, I love his music,
but I can't belame mac. I agree, you missed Adler.
Adler tried to talk about it while only using Al
Green titles. He just went on and on and out,
started even pulling out obscure Algreen songs that.
Speaker 3 (01:33:58):
He was reading out of the.
Speaker 4 (01:34:01):
Yeah, I mean, my goodness, can't Al Green just focused
on for the good times?
Speaker 3 (01:34:04):
Here we got starting it again.
Speaker 4 (01:34:09):
He kicked him out in the hall. He's like, look
what you've done to me?
Speaker 3 (01:34:11):
Yeah, so he says the tyler changes his voice.
Speaker 4 (01:34:16):
Yeah, you know, people thought he was going to do
that before he did it. They heard it through the grapevine.
Speaker 3 (01:34:23):
Okay, here you go.
Speaker 2 (01:34:25):
Do you know whom I feel pretty confident about this
because I was kind of surprised by it. Did you
know that hurd It through the Grapevine originally is.
Speaker 15 (01:34:34):
C c R.
Speaker 3 (01:34:35):
I thought they just think I knew that. I thought
I know it was rolling on the river that I.
Speaker 16 (01:34:40):
Was that.
Speaker 3 (01:34:40):
I thought that they roll you know, I thought I thought,
I thought c c R.
Speaker 4 (01:34:46):
Fred.
Speaker 2 (01:34:47):
It's clear what a revival may have just done a
cover of heard It through the Great Vine, like you
know everybody did.
Speaker 3 (01:34:51):
I'm going back.
Speaker 2 (01:34:52):
I think they are the original that everybody's covering. Maybe
ricking the way out on the limb right now, you're
way out there.
Speaker 18 (01:34:58):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:34:59):
I'm starting to feel les confident about what I'm saying.
But it seems like that's true. That's one that that's
a John Fogerd CCR.
Speaker 4 (01:35:04):
Originally, before Al Green interrupted Trump, he looked to his
the person and sit next to me. He said, let's
get it on.
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
That's not how Green.
Speaker 4 (01:35:14):
I'm pretty sure that.
Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
A reverend wouldn't be singing let's get it on my bad. Okay,
right now, that's actually what apparently Nancy was saying.
Speaker 3 (01:35:26):
She's trying to call the interception is really I don't
know about the claw you got intercept.
Speaker 4 (01:35:32):
Yeah, it's Peter gives back. Also, yeah, you won't back.
Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
All right, we come back. We got more to cover.
Speaker 4 (01:35:41):
Here we go again the clocks you're going forward?
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
Is it this weekend? And now this Congress is finally
going to release us from this madness? We'll talk about this.
We come back.
Speaker 1 (01:35:52):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Who are listening to
(01:36:15):
the whip Broach this show?
Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
Thank you for being with us, Thanks a lot for
spending time with us today. So yeah, I knew I
was losing confidence. Of course a lot of you in
the text, just like me, are wrong. What I was
trying to figure out on heard it through the grape
minus who actually wrote it? You know, just like when
you remember we talked about Bruce Springsteen wrote blinded by
the Light and he never you know, made a big
(01:36:40):
deal about it. You know, Manfred Man's Earth Band became
a big hit. But if you you know, there's Bruce
did a recording of it and actually performs it. So
I thought it might have been like I thought it
was be like that that Maybe did Fogerty write it,
even though other people even did it and they became
more popular with it.
Speaker 3 (01:36:57):
But it's it's none of this. None of the artists
wrote it.
Speaker 2 (01:37:01):
It's actually written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong when
they were working from Motown Records in sixty six. The
first recording of it, Now, they didn't write it, and
that's what I was talking about. Did John Fogerty write it?
Speaker 8 (01:37:15):
Was?
Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
The first recorded release was Gladys Knight and the Pips,
and then it just kind of went on from there.
So anyway, I was wondering if Fogerty wrote it since
they did a version of it, and they mainly always
did you know originals, But apparently it was written by
two songwriters from Motown. So it's back again, and Greg,
I promise you we won't do the repeats of all
(01:37:37):
the things that we've said about the changing of the
clock of all people, of all people. You know who
gave me the first reminder of it, of all people? Gary, Hey,
I don't forget to chitch the clocks for this weekend.
Speaker 3 (01:37:51):
Now. I don't know why Gary, I don't know why
Gary thought he would give me. Hey, don't forget about it?
Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
All right, So but here we go again. I know
Tommy Turberville, right, Senator, is trying to get this stopped.
I know that Elon Musk has now.
Speaker 3 (01:38:10):
Joined this is that correct?
Speaker 11 (01:38:11):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (01:38:13):
He put out on x a poll all right, and
he said he's an advocate. They called him the first hit.
The first buddy is what everybody's calling him. First buddy, first.
Speaker 3 (01:38:25):
Buddy to the president.
Speaker 6 (01:38:27):
Yeah, he is an advocate for canceling daylight savings across
the nation.
Speaker 3 (01:38:32):
Well, just canceling the changing of the clock.
Speaker 4 (01:38:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:38:35):
So he put out a pole and if daylight savings time,
this was the question is canceled, do you prefer an
hour earlier or an hour later? And about one point
one million people responded to the poll within thirteen hours,
and fifty eight percent of them said they would prefer
the clocks to be pushed ford an hour and stay there.
Speaker 2 (01:38:57):
Yep, yeah, I agree with that. Be perfectly fine with me.
I don't want to change time zones. I actually like
as far as programming ball games things like that. I
like being on Central time for obvious reasons. I don't
want whatever I'm going to watch live that's supposed to
start at seven now starts at eight. What was going
(01:39:18):
to start at eight now starts at nine. I don't
want to get in that world, even though we're this
far east, but I would like to stay central where
I live Central time. But just when we go forward
this this Saturday night, leave it and never touch it again.
Speaker 3 (01:39:35):
Just leave it alone. That's what I would prefer. Now.
I know that Tuberville keeps saying he's going to get something.
Speaker 4 (01:39:44):
Done on this.
Speaker 3 (01:39:46):
Where are we on this? Is it? Is it getting
any legs whatsoever? I'll text you it's because you get
all the and just legs.
Speaker 4 (01:39:56):
That's a good song, by the way, you right.
Speaker 3 (01:40:00):
Written by John Fogree Strange Glads and the Pips. Now
they had a great version of it. So I don't
I don't know where we're going with this, but I
know it's back and I'm with you, Greg. My deal
is not I honestly, I don't care about the one
day that things are off and clocks are getting easier
(01:40:22):
and easier to to change.
Speaker 2 (01:40:25):
Some of them are changing on their own. It is
a It is a bit of a hassle, now I do.
I did not like and I know this is where
you are, Adler. It really infuriated me when I still
had small children, because you get small children on the
schedule and then this turns it upside down.
Speaker 3 (01:40:41):
And I really hate that.
Speaker 2 (01:40:42):
But for us to be this far east I prefer
I wish that we could be on daylight saving time
year round, but stay on Central as far as programming,
because in the winter we're getting dark at Really that's
what it will be.
Speaker 3 (01:41:00):
Amazing, That's what I want right there.
Speaker 6 (01:41:02):
Mean it gets so dark so early, yeah, so early.
Sat with you with with kids in school, it's like
they're out of school and it's dark.
Speaker 4 (01:41:09):
Yeah, let's go play out for fifteen minutes before it
gets dark.
Speaker 3 (01:41:12):
Yeah, my goodness of them. But I don't want to
go to Eastern standard.
Speaker 5 (01:41:15):
No.
Speaker 4 (01:41:16):
I think this is a perfect plan. We'd never have
to change.
Speaker 2 (01:41:18):
If it would if if and for some reason somebody said,
like to do that, Congress has to approve it or yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:41:23):
So here here's a little bit of background on what
coach Senator Tommy Tupperville is pushed trying to push through.
It would apply to those states that this legislation is
enacted to that who currently participate in daylight savings time, Okay,
which is observed by I think with that's eight months
out of the year and then four months is the
standard time. And so he's saying the bill would negate
(01:41:46):
the need for Americans to change twice and so daylight
savings time would be permanent.
Speaker 3 (01:41:52):
Yeah, and that's what I want, That's what we want.
Speaker 6 (01:41:54):
Alabama legislator passed a bill to permanently implement daylight savings
time like in twenty twenty one, but the legislation must
first be passed on a federal level in order for
the state to take it to law and it go
into effect. So that's what the state's waiting on the
federal level to pass it, and he's trying to push
it through the Senate.
Speaker 3 (01:42:15):
And now Elon's getting involved. He just wants to know.
He's just taking the temperature of the country. Where are
we Yeah, And he's been a hater of the changing
like we have, and so.
Speaker 6 (01:42:24):
He has really really tried to push this, you know,
to to see if we can't just make a permanent
change and just stay there.
Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
Are you starting to get the sense that Elon thinks
that he can now do just change everything, that he
can overcome any obstacle that we have.
Speaker 6 (01:42:40):
This is a he is a powerful voice right now
and so if he's if he's trying to push it
through and get some folks attention, now's the time to
do it. We're changing everything. I mean it's Gulf of
America right now, Greg, he were you.
Speaker 5 (01:42:52):
Yeah, he did say, he did say on Rogan, he
appeared on Rogan recently. He said he was not a
lizard person. And then he went on to say, that's
exactly what a lizard person would say.
Speaker 4 (01:43:03):
But I'm not an alien. I'm not a lizard person.
Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
That's exactly what I was thinking.
Speaker 2 (01:43:07):
And then, right when it was going well, Greg, right
what was going well, a somewhat large tongue came out
in eight to fly uh security warning to all one
point four billion iPhone users to turn off three settings
Greg that are on default.
Speaker 3 (01:43:24):
Pay attention, Greg. So apparently, uh.
Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
This the hackers can steal everything you got, your social
security number, your credit card information, and your passwords, even
your home address. Uh So, it says if you leave
the Wi Fi setting on, you don't think that's a
big deal, but your phone is constantly searching for available
hotspots when a network's not available. Is it telling me
(01:43:51):
we got to cut the Wi Fi on and off.
According to what we're trying to do, we just can't
leave it on all the.
Speaker 3 (01:43:55):
Time where you're at turn it on when we're here,
you turn it off right until don't like unsecured hotspots. Yeah,
I don't like them. They hate that, Okay, they hate that,
And they said that's going to be on to default.
So it says you're gonna have to You're better off
to manually join any hot spot whenever you decide that.
(01:44:16):
It's okay. I like that, So just turn your turn
your Wi Fi off until you want to you where
you're Yeah, of course I don't do that, but maybe
I should do any big deal.
Speaker 7 (01:44:28):
You're not going to do that?
Speaker 3 (01:44:29):
Great? Yeah, probably not, no, right. They also don't like
for you to let the apps always track you. Yeah,
don't let apps always? So what do you put when
you do that?
Speaker 2 (01:44:40):
I usually just select if I'm trying to do something allow,
Why using out only?
Speaker 3 (01:44:44):
Why using don't? Don't allow? If I'm not so, be
sure you do that?
Speaker 8 (01:44:49):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:44:49):
And then is this the one the privacy security you're
talking about? Because there's an article these things are spread
out through it is. Yeah, and so why did they
not just put on the page don't do these things?
I know, I know those were the two biggies.
Speaker 2 (01:45:02):
Those are the two biggies, So be aware of that,
you know, honestly, I had I was watching you know,
I think, was it something one time?
Speaker 3 (01:45:12):
One time?
Speaker 2 (01:45:13):
My identity for just a minute, they grabbed off of
the American Express card and I was shocked at how
they were pretty reasonable spenders. They were spending a reasonable
amount on it. I was surprised that how I fly
the raid? Yeah, I was like, you know, I mean,
y'all got busted over one dollar, you know. I guess
they were testing, testing, and American Express called them pretty quick,
(01:45:36):
and I thought, man, if you're going to go for
it a dollar, yeah, but I will give American Express credit.
They didn't even wait on me. They knew that this
one was so absurd and that it was something they'd
never seen me do ever. And they killed it immediately
and said he had new cards on the way. And
I'm like, I never got a chance to say anything.
They're like, no, you know, we got to shut that
(01:45:57):
down before they realized that they got it. So that
was pretty good security.
Speaker 8 (01:46:01):
I was.
Speaker 2 (01:46:01):
I was actually lad of that. Of course, Speedy saw
me trying to talk to them in his car coming back.
Was it coming back from Atlanta and the weekend? People, Boy,
they're just they're different. I had to do that uncomfortable
thing because I normally don't deal with this when dealing
with customer service with the American Express, but I and
I always I'm always so uncomfortable, not as uncomfortable as
(01:46:23):
Speedy to when you say, I am so sorry you
heard me. Of course, Speedy was upset with the guy
that had the loud muffler. It was so loud you
can't have a conversation in your own car. I am
so sorry, but your accent is so thick. I can't
understand you. I I just hate to say it clearly racist,
and of course I thought it was wrong. When she
(01:46:46):
asked for my I want to be sure we have
your address right on the new card that's coming, and
the address had a word in it that was connected
maybe to her accent. I said, now, I know you
know how to spell that no and uh, and so
that was a that was an awkward moment, but.
Speaker 3 (01:47:06):
You know, it's okay.
Speaker 2 (01:47:07):
I'm all, I'm all about everybody getting involved, but they'll
go on in. I mean, if I was if this say,
you speak Spanish and you called and I answered, and
I'm doing broken Spanish, you would say, can I not
have someone that can speak my language clearly?
Speaker 4 (01:47:22):
And you would be right.
Speaker 3 (01:47:23):
You should have should be able to get that. Phone

Gentlemen hey, Buddy, hey it's been a long time Since
i've been a member Of Baptist church and my letters
floating out there in space, somewhere AND i wouldn't want
to get.
Speaker 25 (01:48:35):
The bylaws ruffled.
Speaker 4 (01:48:36):
Up but why?
Speaker 27 (01:48:38):
NOT i, MEAN i know it's traditioned to go backwards
in a in a, baptism but you, know in this,
case could you not just go? Vertical let the guy
just go down on one knee or something like that
and come back. Up you, know would that be like
a help to?
Speaker 2 (01:48:54):
You, well you, know and you know the guys who've
been there before are, saying you, know it's it's the
going you, know the you, know buried With christ and
baptism parts, easy it's the coming, up you. Know BUT
i guess the the you, know the visual wh's just face.
It that does give a picture of what has happened
in our, lives Right. Uh and of, course you know
(01:49:14):
you go back to the Original greek word being used
there certainly means to, immerse so you, know you want
to stay with what there's a very strong case that
is the original. Design and of course it's pretty obvious
when you think about, resurrection you, know dying and being.
Speaker 3 (01:49:28):
Raised so you, KNOW i think that you know that
that picture is going to be. Important.
Speaker 2 (01:49:34):
Uh it's you, know like you, said we don't have
to be overly legalistic about. It but but, NO i
think THAT i think it's gonna work just. Fine you,
know it's just you, know you just almost have to
kind of get get your game face on and and you,
know you taught work with a person get them to
work with.
Speaker 3 (01:49:50):
YOU i don't know if any of you.
Speaker 2 (01:49:52):
Remember on the humorous, side have you ever Heard Dennis
swanberg tell the story about him baptizing a woman that
was also you, know not didn't shop in the petite.
Section and it is a hilarious story if you have
not ever heard, IT i mean, funny and he's a
(01:50:12):
great storyteller, Anyway so let's go to but now we're
gonna make it work and it's gonna be, great and
the guy's got an incredible. Testimony and you, know LIKE i,
say we there's always things that have, happened happened so
many times because of us as human beings when it
comes to things that are, serious but at the same,
(01:50:34):
time things that can be quite. Humorous and let's face,
it anytime we're dealing with any of this, stuff there's
always the. Potential we've all seen. HIM i love the
one where the kid does a cannonball into the. Pool
i've seen that one. Before so What i'm trying to
do is just stay off.
Speaker 3 (01:50:50):
YouTube you.
Speaker 2 (01:50:51):
Know let's see IF i can make sure we do
this without me trending and a lot of you looking
for the live. Stream let's go To crockett out Of North. Carolina,
Crockett welcome to the.
Speaker 3 (01:51:03):
Show good, morning.
Speaker 25 (01:51:05):
Brother, Hey i've been listening to y'all for about twenty
five years. NOW i listen to y'all On iHeart radio
thrank you five to. Eleven SO i don't got something
about the time, change how? Well sob at?
Speaker 1 (01:51:21):
All all?
Speaker 25 (01:51:21):
Right you know we always go forward an hour or
back an. Hour coming this. Weekend if we'll just go
forward with thirty minutes and call it, quit it's.
Speaker 9 (01:51:32):
With it right down the.
Speaker 25 (01:51:33):
Middle that's pretty.
Speaker 2 (01:51:35):
Funny stay, There stay, There james out Of, Huntsville, alabama
one hundred point three the, River, james go, Ahead.
Speaker 25 (01:51:43):
Hey good, morning.
Speaker 13 (01:51:44):
GUYS i don't know if that thing About alabama waiting
on the federal to pass, it but if that's actually
true or, not if it's. Required because WHEN i was
in The, NAVY i was stationed In, indiana AND i
lived In, ellisville stationed At crane, area and we didn't
change time, there but the base, did and SO i
(01:52:06):
would leave work sometimes BEFORE i got to work down At.
Crane it was about a forty mile trip. Anyway that
area does not change, times And Puerto rico does not.
Either and SO i don't know if that federal thing
is actually a true.
Speaker 3 (01:52:19):
Thing here's WHAT i. Heard, yeah It's And i've gone
back and forth with.
Speaker 2 (01:52:24):
This if, you as a state do not want to
participate in daylight savings, time you can do. It if
you want to go to daylight savings time and stay,
there it's got to be. FEDERAL i don't know, why
but that's What i've been telling because you're. RIGHT i
know states that don't participate in daylight savings time at,
all and you mentioned some of, those but not, many
(01:52:49):
and some have done it then didn't do.
Speaker 3 (01:52:50):
It they don't ever change.
Speaker 2 (01:52:51):
Time BUT i think where you've got to have the
federal government is someone who says we want to go,
forward say central time zone where we, are we want
to go forward this weekend and never go.
Speaker 3 (01:53:02):
Back that has to be.
Speaker 2 (01:53:03):
Fed, yeah it doesn't make any sense to, me BUT
i mean that's how it's been explained to me in the.
Speaker 6 (01:53:09):
Past and real quick back to a story we talked
about With apple and the security settings that are on.
There we mentioned two of. Them the other One rick was,
well one of them Was Wi fi, hotspots don't have
that on all the. Time the other was don't let
apps track you at all. Times the other was location
services always being. On if you ever wonder why you
(01:53:30):
pull up to a business or you get close to
a business and all of a sudden you get an
ad for like Best buy or you're at you, KNOW Tj,
max and all of a sudden you start getting Ad
it's because your location services are always on and the
third party see, that so they try to send you advertisements. For,
yeah we looked through the article and it was hard
to find that they spread them out in various paragraphs
and all. That probably should have prepped the story real
(01:53:50):
good and wrote them down on a piece of, paper
but that would have ruined the.
Speaker 3 (01:53:53):
Show, yeah all, right so let's go to. Anonymous, Anonymous
welcome to the. Show go.
Speaker 15 (01:53:58):
Ahead, YEAH i just have.
Speaker 12 (01:54:00):
A question about this time, stuff Because i've never understood
it's all asked a.
Speaker 1 (01:54:04):
Question then.
Speaker 12 (01:54:05):
Listen but If god is in control of all this,
stuff daylight and, dark how's it going to how changing
the time.
Speaker 1 (01:54:14):
Is going to?
Speaker 4 (01:54:15):
Work, well it.
Speaker 2 (01:54:16):
Doesn't i've said that many. Times we're renaming. Light we
don't have any control over how long a day is
and when sunrisees and sunset. Is what we are controlling
is what we decide to call. It you're absolutely right
when people, say well, this we do this so we
have more daylight you don't have more. Daylight you're changing
(01:54:36):
how you want the time to be to benefit your daily.
Routine we don't do. Anything spring and summer has more
light than fall and winter. Period but it's what you call.
It we're renaming.
Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
It that's all we.
Speaker 2 (01:54:50):
Do we are not making days longer or. Shorter we're
deciding what we're going to call it and what our
schedule is going to.
Speaker 3 (01:54:56):
Be that's. It you, know you, go, WELL i DON'T
i want TO i want five o'clock to be six. O'clock,
well that didn't change how much lights. There you just
decided what you're gonna call. It so and that's What
i've all often.
Speaker 2 (01:55:07):
Said days are longer and spring and summer than they
are in fall and winter. Period so BECAUSE i remember hearing, that,
HEY i want TO i want to have a little
longer and a little more.
Speaker 3 (01:55:21):
Daylight now you just decide what to call the. Day
you're not controlling the.
Speaker 2 (01:55:28):
Daylight and as the old funny, thing you're just taking
the top off of a rug and putting it at
the bottom and saying the rugs.
Speaker 1 (01:55:36):

Titans my situation wasn't quite. That it was almost pulled
one of me on the other. End, yeah he, SAID
(02:06:26):
i if you if, you if you want, bad he,
said if you want, bad try driving a try axel dump.
Speaker 3 (02:06:32):
Truck, uh and and have this happen to. You, uh he,
said can you just crawl in the?

a triple axe dump truck while in a turtle race
not being able to get up.

Here at least we can speed up and try to get.
Someone so you're the mercy of that Big. Rocky thanks for,
listening buddy. MAN i will say this without going into.
Detail it reminds me WHEN i worked in the situation
when you're in a different place every day and you're,
out you're not in a. BUILDING i saw some creative
(02:07:08):
things done when people were in that, Mine. GREG i,
mean because you gotta, go you gotta, go and sometimes
you can't. Hide. RIGHT i saw some very very you,
know strange. Situations suddenly one guy was little enough then
you know the bucket you work. In, no he didn't
even had to get out of. Here we're in the.
Speaker 4 (02:07:26):
Buckets he had to he had to.

(02:09:15):
com slash Big vox or go to rickburgesshow dot com
use the link. There so people are asking who does
the the hayburd haybird, songs asking about the metal one
specifically in this TEXT. AI i hate to break that to.
You these are all created BY. Ai scary stuff scary scary,
(02:09:37):
stuff so you can't really tie them back to any.
Artist so DOES ai adler like create the voices and
everything based on the.
Speaker 4 (02:09:46):
Style i've noticed that a lot of it has the
same phrasing and.
Speaker 5 (02:09:50):
Structure it just depends on what you feed, it correct
what you put, in what the Prompt.
Speaker 2 (02:09:55):
But that voice is no one's. Voice it's created or
is it implementing a a voice it heard it is
using voice.
Speaker 5 (02:10:02):
Modeling AND i even think like one of them we
got was actually modeled After, striper, correct that's, yeah one
was actually modeled After Toby.
Speaker 2 (02:10:12):
Mack.
Speaker 3 (02:10:13):
Yeah and so.
Speaker 5 (02:10:14):
You've got these you can put a whole bunch of
words into THE ai and it will have a voice,
model and then you can just type in the words
that you wanted to. Say we've said enough on the
air certainly to have a voice model made of all
of our.
Speaker 2 (02:10:28):
Voices so so do you think the person like for
for this, one they they went in and actually Type
toby Mac that's WHAT i assume they. Said this one
is was based Off.
Speaker 4 (02:10:43):
Striper and it may just be like hair metal or you,
know it could just be, yeah it. COULD i DON'T
i don't even know.
Speaker 25 (02:10:52):
Exact but one.
Speaker 5 (02:10:53):
Thing THAT i was VERY i found very interesting IS
i had JUST i went back and listened to it.
AGAIN i had just said, that how most of the
THESE ai songs they can't do, funny they can't do, parody,
right they don't do that. Much and then we played
the what about The dog? Song, yeah and it was,
funny but the phrase what about the dog is just
funny in. Itself and so that's another example of if
(02:11:16):
you get quality, in you'll get quality out or garbage
in garbage out kind of.
Speaker 3 (02:11:19):
SCENARIO i, mean you can't even have a.
Speaker 2 (02:11:21):
Song so you, know it's. It it is, WEIRD i
will tell, you, YEAH i, think, Well i'll be real.
General so you, know we have meetings all the time
on people wanting to do, things you, know with the
show and ideas and so that or you're not gonna
like When i'm about to say at, all, Okay and
(02:11:42):
and it was it was. INTERESTING i was actually sitting
down with a group of musicians and singers and they
were talking about that they might want to do something
for the new.
Speaker 3 (02:11:54):
Show you.
Speaker 2 (02:11:54):
Know they were, like we'd love to try to do
some sort of theme to the song or. Whatever and
all of a, sudden within the converse of these very
very gifted, musicians someone, said, well we really just probably
just created ON. AI i mean that that will get
a lot quicker and a lot less. Expensive AND i
(02:12:16):
was like, Wow and then the quote, was, yeah this
is going to put us at a lot of. Business yeah,
okay well, yeah all, right.
Speaker 6 (02:12:23):
Do you think that's? WHY i, mean live shows have
always been. Great then we HAD covid and nobody did anything.
Live but it seems like live, shows live venues that
really is really building now because people you CAN'T ai,
that well you, could, WELL i mean What i'm. Saying
If i'm watching, IT i guess you. Could but if
you see in the band play live act IS i
(02:12:43):
guess What i'm. Saying, well, yeah because we've seen artists
that just come out and sing over. Tracks, YEAH i
mean you could just have someone up there mouthing and
put the visual on the stage and LET ai provide all.
Speaker 3 (02:12:55):
The singing and. Music, YEAH i mean you can do.
Speaker 13 (02:12:58):
It you.
Speaker 6 (02:12:58):
COULD i don't think that would be a big. Hit
you might do that once or, twice but then people
can start calling you out.
Speaker 2 (02:13:03):
For well there's been some pretty big not not for,
me but there's been some pretty big artists that are
pretty close to.
Speaker 3 (02:13:09):
That h just phoning it.
Speaker 2 (02:13:12):
In, well think about what about people that are going
out and seeing THIS abba thing and it's holograms.
Speaker 3 (02:13:18):
And at least you know you that's what you're going to,
see right.
Speaker 2 (02:13:21):
True, no to answer your, QUESTION i think there are
people that don't care like we. Do BUT i do
think that what people still. PREFER i just think it's
a cool experience and sound is to hear live musicians
play instruments, well even if it's not, Perfect even if
it's not, perfect just that the, sound the, experience the
(02:13:44):
the one. Thing HERE i, go getting, Off here we.
Go And i'm almost embarrassed to say this in front Of,
greg even THOUGH i know he feels this. Too he
just won't say. It that's a hard outer. Shell but you,
know they'll never be able to replace the emotions that
are uniquely human. Being you're, right, fine and in the
(02:14:05):
spirit of, IT i mean it sounds a little. Proper it,
does BUT i, agree, yeah, Reluctantly BUT i agree you reluctantly.
Speaker 3 (02:14:13):
Agree.
Speaker 4 (02:14:14):
Yeah you. Can't you can't just you.
Speaker 2 (02:14:16):
Can't now, back it seems kind of. Cold do you
hear the pain in that song that the real human being?
Speaker 4 (02:14:22):
Raised we'll be.
Speaker 1 (02:14:24):
Back this is The Rick Burgess show doing what he
was born to, do The Rick Burgess.
Speaker 3 (02:14:37):

sings like with him at times or instead of? HIM

Story and let's listen to the when he still got the.
Songs that's a great thing about. Recordings he can still
come to, events we can still honor and he's one
of the. Classes but why would we put him on

no longer. Sing so we've TAUGHT ai to Emulate Randy
travis's voice so we can hear new songs From. Randy

Ready randy's on the other side of the. Microphone it's
still his. Vocal there's no reason he shouldn't be able
to make. Music and to deprive him of that if
he still wants to do, that that's.
Speaker 29 (02:29:10):
Unconsciously two months, Ago Warner music gathered a small circle
of fellow musicians in a recording. Studio brandy sat with
a cheshire cat's, grin and then they hit play shed
like holy. Crap the reaction to his first song in
more than a decade was a mix of joy and wonder,

Where i'm. Confused modeling through artificial.

him and he's on stage looking at. It that's what
that person. SAID i know he's involved, somehow all? Right
is this?
Speaker 2 (02:33:07):
Sadder then when we Put Phil collins out there in a,
chair was he because they've stopped doing?
Speaker 4 (02:33:13):
That phil was?
Speaker 3 (02:33:13):
Singing do you know somebody tell me they stopped doing? That,
yeah they had auxygen tank in a chair by. Him
But phil did. Sing he, Did but that'd be hard
for me to.
Speaker 2 (02:33:22):
Watch, Agreed like WHEN i went to see The, eagles
AND i know they're playing the sphere right. Now WHEN
i went to see The, eagles they were all in their,
seventies but they still look. Cool they still, played they still,

Adler here a couple of updates from stories that have
been developing on the. Program all, right here's somebody that
(02:35:23):
said they have seen The Randy travis deal and they
said that THE ai thing is something separate that we.
Saw it doesn't seem to be involved in the actual live.
Show they're saying That Randy, travis obviously unable to, sing
does come on the stage and interact with the, band
(02:35:44):
but that there is a singer that you, Mentioned, Greg
and if you want to go down you can scroll
a little.
Speaker 3 (02:35:48):
Bit i'll tell.
Speaker 2 (02:35:49):
You, actually, yeah the other way right, here now down
down the other the other way right. Here it says
that The James dupree handles the vocals With travis's original
touring band providing the. Music randy just comes on the
stage and interacts so so so there you, go uh
(02:36:12):
so so so that you, KNOW i was wondering do
they take how far do they take the A ai?
Speaker 3 (02:36:16):
Thing you?
Speaker 8 (02:36:17):
Know and?
Speaker 2 (02:36:18):
Whatever also another so it looks like THE ai is
not involved in the live show from what people are.
Saying and a little side note somebody someone just said
that zz tod was indothed last time about.
Speaker 4 (02:36:28):
That but also this is.
Speaker 3 (02:36:31):
FUNNY i can't wait to show you in the rate
who sent this to?
Speaker 8 (02:36:34):
Me?
Speaker 2 (02:36:34):
Greg Uh BABYLON. B you know how much we Love BABYLON. B,
yes this is a. Doozy study finds one hundred percent
of men would eat any fruit given to them by naked.
Woman look listen to this so you know how you
(02:36:56):
sometimes you if you you got to read the. Article
our results were, conclude said The Angel, gabriel who led
the study of thirty thousand male test.
Speaker 3 (02:37:05):
Subjects we. Studied we found literally one hundred percent of
them would happily except and eat any piece of fruit
handed to them by a woman who was, naked even
in cases where it wasn't fruit or even.
Speaker 2 (02:37:16):
Eatible all the males gratefully accepted every single object that
was offered to them and ate.
Speaker 3 (02:37:22):
It with a dumb look on their. FACE a Rock,
Sure uh so that's that's. FUNNY a couple Of Hey.
Burdes still to go, Here.
Speaker 18 (02:37:48):
Hey, Bird hey, bird emails roll and, then but we
ain't turning back big fox in the. House we're turning it.
Loud The Rick burgess show was rocking the. Crowd ques
just keep coming the answer flew email.
Speaker 3 (02:38:00):
Stacks you just got to Go birge on the. Mic
no time to. Stall we're taking. Control we're answering them.
All Hey, Bush Hey, bush what's the word? Today the
big box in the? Studio where come out with? Show
split it all?
Speaker 4 (02:38:13):
Good while we're walking.
Speaker 18 (02:38:14):
The, Show no time to be mobs hangers has. Turning
everybody in the rock and roll city where standing prow
y'all got in?
Speaker 16 (02:38:25):
There.
Speaker 3 (02:38:26):
Right so here's a couple of Hey. Burges we did
one earlier in the. Program Uh, So Hey, Burge Hey,
burge what's the correct response when you see a man
that you do not know not living up to his full?
Potential i'm, like what is? It where's this going? On?
So uh he he says.
Speaker 4 (02:38:44):
This here's what he.
Speaker 2 (02:38:45):
Said he, said last, NIGHT i watched a man, sprint
not not just pick up the, momentum but sprint past
me while it was raining. Lightly sprint passed me and,
uh he said a call all of hey was like
halfway out of my mouth BEFORE i REALIZED i don't
know this. MAN i probably shouldn't shout at someone That
(02:39:08):
i've never met before that they shouldn't be running frantically
in a light, rain and let this person know this
MAN i use that term. Loosely how Disappointed Coach burgess
would be in him right. Now perhaps if he would
have maybe slowed down a little bit or something like,
THAT i would HAVE i would have been able to
(02:39:29):
talk to. Him but, So, KYLE i think it's best
if you don't know the. Person you probably don't want
to shout at people you don't, know And Coach burgess
would be disappointed in you right.
Speaker 3 (02:39:38):
Now and make sure they're not wearing like running clothes.
Speaker 2 (02:39:41):
Right they may just be out, joking, Yes and be
sure THAT i rained on but that really makes some
Stuff i'm jog even if it's.
Speaker 3 (02:39:47):
Raining.
Speaker 2 (02:39:47):
Well and also be sure they're not running to some
sort of emergency or maybe running to help someone to
go to the. Bathroom they may be running toward danger
to go help. Someone being very, manly you have to be.
Careful you don't know now if they look frantic and
like try not to get, wet that's that's. Different so
this got a lot of this, yesterday and even, people
(02:40:10):
even the men who are actually in the room, Yesterday Hey,
bird Hey. Burge you know listening to The New bible
study On job. Yesterday you know we Do job chapter,
three which, is you, Know job's pretty, depressed and so
the topic was brought up about Obviously job is thinking
that death is better than the situation that he's.
Speaker 3 (02:40:28):
In uh and. Uh and of course we did some commentary.
Yesterday your comments on. Suicide i'd love some clarification because
you said that suicide was not an unforgivable. Sin please. Explain,
yeah so we had that yesterday and a lot of
the guys were coming up and talking to me afterwards.
Too AND i know that there are some theological.
Speaker 2 (02:40:49):
Beliefs that if you, know someone commits, suicide that automatically
means that they are condemned to. Hell the problem with
saying that is that that's nowhere in The bible that
The bible doesn't say. That The bible says there's only
one unforgivable, sin and that is the rejection of The
Holy spirit blaspheming The Holy, spirit meaning you have been
(02:41:11):
convicted by The Holy spirit to repent of your sin
and be redeemed In, christ and you reject, that you
reject The. Gospel, well obviously that would condemn. You there's
no being forgiven if you reject the only way to be.
Forgiven so you don't.
Speaker 3 (02:41:25):
See that in.
Speaker 2 (02:41:26):
Scripture, now let me be. Clear job does not do,
that And job is in a tough. Situation but one
of the things you notice in his depression in chapter
three is that's more important than anything Is nowhere in
there does he Blame. God Nowhere he's convinced he's the.
Problem now his friends are not going to help here
(02:41:46):
in a, minute because they're going to double down on.
That but he doesn't know what's going. On he doesn't
know the test he's. In he has no idea about
these conversations Between god And. Lucifer he is unaware of
what's going. On to, him this all seems, Random but
he in this moment when he's talking about, it had
been better IF i would have never been. Born even
(02:42:06):
IF i was, born it had been better IF i
was still. Born what he's saying IS i HAVE i
must be a. Problem he never in this goes what
Is god doing to?
Speaker 4 (02:42:17):
Me i'm mad At?
Speaker 2 (02:42:17):
God now none of that ever, Happens so that's important.
Too so when you think about, that AND i talked
to some of the guys in the, room you just
have to ponder this. Thought you, know Does jesus make
us fully righteous or? Not and the answer is yes
for the redeemed if we. Repent you know this notion
that WHEN i, REPENT i have to remember every single
(02:42:38):
sin That i've ever, done including not just physically but
in my mind and my. Thoughts and SO i asked
some of the guys that were, LEAVING i, said do
you do you think that you're redeemed By? Christ and they,
said for. Sure it was multiple. Men we just want some.
Clarification they weren't being, difficult AND i, said, well let's
say that you walk out to your car right now
(02:42:59):
and you see something pops up on your phone and
you click on it and you didn't mean, to even
if you didn't mean, to and all of a sudden
something came up that was say porn, Okay and you saw,
it and for a minute you just started looking at
it longer than you thought you should you and you
got intrigued in. It and just about the time that
you were about to put that phone, down you're, like,
(02:43:21):
MAN i should have done. That somebody just t bones
you into the parking. LOT a wild car comes uncontrollably
and kills you. Instantly are you going to hell because
the last thing you did on earth was a? Sin
and of course they, like well, NO i, said well
there we go.
Speaker 3 (02:43:35):
Again.
Speaker 2 (02:43:35):
Now so does anybody really think that when you die
that you were able to go back To god personally
and remember every little thing you ever?
Speaker 3 (02:43:43):
Did and, says won't be SURE i covered. That.
Speaker 2 (02:43:46):
Now what you did is when you repented and you,
left you left faith in yourself and your own authority
and you and you you put your faith In christ
for him to make you totally.
Speaker 3 (02:43:56):
Righteous he.
Speaker 2 (02:43:57):
Did now is the sanctification. Process feed your days when
you make a. MISTAKE i could have handled that. Differently
should we go back and, say, hey please forgive me
for WHAT i? Did of course we, should BUT i
would think it'd be pretty difficult for every single human
being to be sure that you took every single bad
thought you, had mishandling of, something you, know the sins
(02:44:20):
that you you know, committed then the sin of not
doing Things god told.
Speaker 3 (02:44:23):
You to do that you didn't carry.
Speaker 2 (02:44:25):
OUT i would think it'd be kind of hard that
everybody gets all that handled right before they.
Speaker 3 (02:44:31):
Die you.
Speaker 24 (02:44:32):
Know but what?
Speaker 2 (02:44:33):
Now DO i think that suicide in most cases reveals
someone who maybe isn't, redeemed because could someone who was
truly redeemed get to that? Place the answer on that, is,
yes they. CAN i can tell you there's a lot
of times that this has happened THAT i thought it
revealed a lack of. Redemption but there's also been times
THAT i can document that these were solid people in
(02:44:56):
their faith and they just got talked into that lie
that they could end their suffering or in their, situation
and that just Like job was, saying death would be
better than. This and then they also get lied to
that the family and everybody be better off without. Me
by the, way all of that's a. Lot if you
think you're solving problems by taking your own, life you're
(02:45:16):
just creating bigger problems for the people you're leaving, behind
and plus that's really not something you want to be
the last thing you ever did on.
Speaker 3 (02:45:23):
Earth is it? Unforgivable?
Speaker 28 (02:45:25):
No is it a?
Speaker 7 (02:45:26):
Sin?
Speaker 2 (02:45:26):
Yes so that was the point that was, made and
some people were kind of, like, Well i'd always been
taught it was unforgivable.
Speaker 3 (02:45:32):
Sin, well you won't find that anywhere in. Scripture is
it a?
Speaker 7 (02:45:36):
Sin?
Speaker 3 (02:45:37):
Yes is it unforgivable?
Speaker 4 (02:45:39):
No we'll be.

misinterpreted that he now is going to start leaning to the. Right,
no he's still going to be completely you, know sold
out to the left because that's his. Ideology, however what
he's trying to do is, say if we ever want

ONE.
Speaker 3 (02:59:25):
Mlb, yeah The Major League Baseball speedy tell me about
this as soon AS i got to the office. Today
so when this when this manager has been, interviewed, great of,
course it's just it's just spring. Training. Yeah and this
picture gives up three home runs on three. Pictures, yeah
interview three three home runs and three pictures and the
first one is a grand. Slam, okay, Now, adler this
(02:59:47):
is too terribly. Long you might want to pull maybe
halfway through.
Speaker 6 (02:59:49):
IT i guess when they but, yeah he's doing the
end of the endgame, interview AND i think this might
be the first one right.
Speaker 3 (02:59:56):
HERE i, guess let's, see okay right, here oh my,
Gracious and after.
Speaker 2 (03:00:03):
Seeing a, fastball a little slider eighty five gets a
change up up and you do it to see as you.
Speaker 6 (03:00:08):
Headed this was a blast four hundred and thirty feet.
One so that's the first. One that's the first. One
it's good night the sound and you can maybe skip
like like hop a little bit until you've seen another.
Speaker 4 (03:00:20):
Bathroom there's another.
Speaker 7 (03:00:21):
One they're good to do.
Speaker 2 (03:00:23):
It look at he's being, interviewed and all he can
see is one dinger after, Another phillies.
Speaker 6 (03:00:30):
Manager and so there's another one that's number two consecutive,
pitches but equally.
Speaker 24 (03:00:37):
Impressive, man it is all.
Speaker 2 (03:00:39):
Right if it's a spring training you're trying to get
in the lineup and your manager's being interviewed and he
just watching you on three pitches give but three hound
runs including a grand.
Speaker 3 (03:00:47):
Slam, yeah, Yeah and so we have the third, one
and that might hang it with us.
Speaker 24 (03:00:51):
Here but this sort of here in his context of
what goes on in the springs training. Game the first he, said.
Speaker 3 (03:01:02):
Is not gonna get? It took, back took, back look
at his? Face is he forgotten he's been interviewed down three?
Pitches three pitches he. Was he's grimacing as he goes
out and won A Grand? Slam did you see the last?
Speaker 8 (03:01:18):
One the?
Speaker 4 (03:01:19):
Manager?
Speaker 3 (03:01:19):
Yeah how about?
Speaker 8 (03:01:22):
That?
Speaker 3 (03:01:22):
Sound is?
Speaker 4 (03:01:22):
Anything is there anything that sounds better than?
Speaker 17 (03:01:24):
Now?
Speaker 4 (03:01:25):
YEAH i got to hear that when he thanks the
manager for hanging with us here on this. Interview, topper
you're a great guy for, uh for a hanging with us.
Speaker 24 (03:01:33):

can we just did an interview, now thank you for
hanging through two home?
Speaker 4 (03:01:46):
Runs so because another? One?
Speaker 3 (03:01:50):
Wow oh that's? Crazy? Uh and are also video.
Speaker 2 (03:01:54):
Nine you've been really raving about chickens and how you're
going to raise chickens so you can be a. Farmer
but here's a woman that's, saying do not raise. Chickens
you need to change that. Plan raise.
Speaker 4 (03:02:07):
Ducks ducks are the new.
Speaker 3 (03:02:08):
Hotness guys wark ducks than you think.
Speaker 5 (03:02:11):
Well as of watching this, VIDEO i Decided i'm not
gonna get, Chickens i'm gonna. Raise i'm gonna raise ducks,
instead just because the ducks are the new hotness according
to this, lady.
Speaker 8 (03:02:19):
Raise, chickens raise. Ducks let me tell you why ducks
are so much better than. CHICKENS i, mean just look
at the difference in the. Eggs for, one lock eggs
have a harder, shell so they last a lot longer
on your.
Speaker 19 (03:02:29):
Counter than chicken.
Speaker 8 (03:02:30):
Eggs that's long all through the, winter and they can
give you two hundred and fifty to three hundred and
fifty plus eggs in a, year which is more than a.
Chicken making a coop for them is so much easier
than the ones you have to make For chickens don't.
Speaker 19 (03:02:41):
Need all these roosting boxes or.
Speaker 4 (03:02:43):
Perches they just.
Speaker 8 (03:02:44):
Lay their eggs on the ground in, here so that's
also a lot, simpler also more disease resistant than, chickens
especially if you feed them red pepper. Flakes that keeps
the parasites down and the egg production.
Speaker 4 (03:02:55):
Up don't know that, Ever, yeah ducks getting.
Speaker 8 (03:02:58):
Way more protein in one ducade than you a chicken,
egg and the yolk is so.
Speaker 19 (03:03:02):
Rich as long as you keep.
Speaker 8 (03:03:03):
Clean water and a good feed for, them then their
eggs taste exactly like.
Speaker 19 (03:03:07):
Chicken is that?
Speaker 8 (03:03:08):
True bugs and slugs you got any are less. Dramatic
they don't fight like. Chicken stocks can lay eggs for
five plus. Years that's longer than. Chickens chickens slow down
at two to three. Years you, know if you have
any questions about raising?
Speaker 3 (03:03:20):
Dom so, wow what about.
Speaker 15 (03:03:24):
IF i?
Speaker 3 (03:03:24):
HAVE i didn't know. It they're.
Speaker 4 (03:03:26):
RICHER i like the sound of. That but IF i
try anyone.
Speaker 3 (03:03:30):
Ever had a scrambled?
Speaker 5 (03:03:31):
Ducket And i'm gonna go to the YouTube comment ducks
are way messier with the.
Speaker 4 (03:03:36):
Pooping another person, says, no get. CHICKENS i like the last.
Speaker 2 (03:03:42):
