It's really I'm like, oh, this is actually like a
high quality hoodie that I'm wearing right now, you'll probably
take care of.
Speaker 5 (02:48):
It, right.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, Well we tried to go, you know, let's go
high quality garment, regardless of what logos.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Or whatever it may have on it.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
So so yeah, so we'll see, uh, but other things
to cover, you know, from on the weekend. There's quite
a bit impact active active, active. As we were talking about,
I know, speed of yours sounds like it was pretty active.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
A lot going on, Yeah, it a lot, a lot. Yeah,
and we have some updates too. Oh yeah, Gene Hackman.
Good gracious.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Well, I was gonna say, but world, can that story
get any more strange?
Speaker 5 (03:22):
Well?
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I looked at the headline today and I saw update,
and I know this is your story, Speedy. You say
that you are our journalists.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
It's not true.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
It's like somebody just made up this whole thing.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
It's like, I'm like, all right, when I get to
work this time, the Gene Hackman mystery is over. And
then I come to work and it continues to get weirder. Well,
if you've got mouse Dunge involved, yeah, we do, we do.
I mean, who would have that coming?
Speaker 5 (03:49):
We do? We do mouse Dune involved. You're talking about HPS,
But you know, if you remember back when we when
we first reported this, we were all trying to figure out, Man,
what an awful I mean, this is awful, but what
a scene where maybe he went down, she ran to
the bathroom to find some medication we got, and then
(04:09):
all of a sudden she falls.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
She hits her head.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
The dogs in the closet and the kennel he can't
get out.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
It was just awful and it still is awful.
Speaker 5 (04:17):
But now it looks like she died a week before
he ever died, and he had advanced Alzheimer's and maybe
walked around the house confused, not knowing what really had
happened to his wife, and then died.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
It's just it just continues to grow.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
And she has what what Greg just said, some some
virus that was rated born disease. On February the eleventh,
she died and they didn't I mean, and so maybe
he wandered around for a week or so.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Did they have a rat problem in their house? I
mean live out in that it's in New Mexico right there. Yeah,
probably got some protected mice.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
Who knows.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
So it could be like a mite or something that rides.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
On the mouse.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I think they had like an infected house of a
bunch of rat No, no, would say a rat born disease.
She got it. And they've got the name of the disease.
There's no way I could pronounce it right off. Rat
dung hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. So they're saying she got that,
she dies. Yeah, then he wanders around till he died.
(05:19):
Seven dollars in the calls of the whole time.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
Right, and then the two other ones because of a
dog there. They were coming and going. But maybe it
was a Yeah, I don't know how she caught it outside,
Maybe just in the barn if they had one.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I have no idea.
Speaker 5 (05:32):
But terrible, I mean that he had such advanced Alzheimer's
because according to his daughter, who they also interviewed, she
said he was in great health and and everything. And
but now it comes to come to find out she
hadn't talked to him in a month and.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
A half or so, right, also known as no check
in Greg. I don't know if that's necessary.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Well, you got a dad with advanced Alzheimer's and you
had talked to him in almost sixty days.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
Oh that's a long time. Yeah, I will writ in
the woodpile, more like.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
All right, either too soon, I will, I will. Yeah,
it is not a big deal. If your parents are
in super health, everything's great that y'all haven't talked in
that period of time. But if your dad has Alzheimer's
and sad that we can speak from experience, you.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
Check in a lot, you do. You're checking a lot.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Even even if the wife and mama or whoever is
still okay, you check on them because they got their handsful, right,
you know. There's a lot of check in during that time,
lots and lots of check in.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
And apparently apparently this virus and some are saying maybe
even from the garden she might have caught it. It
gives you flu like symptoms. So at first you just think, hey,
I'm just getting sick, you know. And then it's just
sad to hear about maybe the fact that he was
confused for a week and didn't know what was going on.
Could the dog have been barking and he put in
(06:51):
the closet because he wouldn't be quiet. Who knows, I mean,
nobody knows, but it's just it's terribly sad.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
And then the pills and medicine that were on the ground.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
And that's where it's styroid medicine too.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
He might have been trying to get his own you know,
struggling to get his own medicine. Yeah, probably something he
didn't have to do.
Speaker 5 (07:08):
Don't know what he was getting.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Yeah, absolutely, it's just that's just sad.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
But if you would have broke that down the way
it happened when we first when we when this story
first got out, that has taking a twig. Want I
want you all to picture this. We're sitting here the
first time we ever talked about it, Okay, and also said, look,
I got a theory. Just hear me out, And I said,
it could be that his wife died first from some
rat born rat born rare disease, and he has advanced Alzheimer's.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
You might not know this.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
And maybe he wanders around the house for a couple
of weeks with her dad.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
And maybe he's the one to put the dog up
in confusion.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
And he was reaching for pills, you know, either for
her or for himself maybe and then had a heart
of what he has and then had a heart attack.
Later all of you would have been like, Rick, why
would you right, But that's that's looking like that's what
we have here. Yes, that's you know, we keep we
keep getting updates and thing kept changing. I think this
is finally what they're going this is what happened.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
Who I'm sorry, and who would have thought that the
wife would go would have passed first?
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Yeah, yeah, because I mean he got thirty years on her.
She obviotually took care of him and was you know,
daily medicine whatever. Now all that's gone for a week
and he's walking around confused and man.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
And some people are saying they had some sort of
barn that that's probably where the Yeah, she picked up
from the door. They had quite a compound. It showed
overhead shot and nice played.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
Yeah. Oh Geene got plenty of money. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
So so anyway, it's a sad story. It's a bizarre story.
I don't think any of us thought that was our
update today, but but there it is an update on
that ongoing dew. Now they're saying they're still trying to
close loopholes, but it sounds like they've got it. I
think they've dialed it in, signed off on it.
Speaker 5 (08:49):
The cell phone and they were looking into the cell
phone records and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
I think that's some of the loopholes. And they noticed
the daughter wasn't on it. But yeah, Greg, yeah, okay,
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
She's a situation. I shouldn't said. Do you hear me?
Speaker 2 (09:03):
She looks good too?
Speaker 5 (09:04):
Oh really, yeah, I say, saying account your dad, man,
come on, I mean or something. Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
And I don't know their the family dynamics and everything.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
But if they said their relationship was was fine, you know,
you never know a family dynamic now you don't. I
will also say.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
This, gosh, I hope if if JT is updating this
story on his show, you know he'll be convincing as
the rat borne. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Before this day is over.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Ye, this is the Rick Burgess Show, still denying any
(10:00):
involvement in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine. Rick pitch.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Not clear, just once clear twice. So thank you for
being with us. She'll keep waiting on the apology from
everybody who punished me over there still nothing. We have
a lot to unpack. We gave you the Gene Hackmann update.
That just gets stranger now some of you are you know,
(10:30):
and I hope you never have to deal with it.
I really don't, but severe late stages Alzheimer's, some of
you don't have a real understanding of that. He would
not have been capable of comprehending the situation at all. Okay,
so you got to drop that. There's no way. One
thing you got to forget is that their short term
(10:51):
memory resets. I'm talking about not over a long period
of time, in seconds and minutes, you know, And so
you can go from no kind of trying took their
head figuring out a situation, it resets and suddenly they're
back at the beginning again. So they have no concept
of time passing, what day it is, what season it is.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
It's just not possible.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
So sad, but it's not possible. So anyway, But I
don't think any of us saw the wife died first
of a rat born disease. I just I don't think
we had that. None of us saw that coming. So anyway,
So that's that update. Anything new that happens over the
next twenty four hour, Speedy will of course be on
top of it, because he's been assigned to this case. Well,
I just couldn't believe.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
I couldn't. I couldn't believe what I was reading when
the updates came in over the weekend. I couldn't. I
was like, what I know about None of us ever
thought of this. And you know, if you're a caregiver
and something happens to you, then then that's a that's
a life changer there. And obviously she cared for him,
(12:00):
and when something happened to her, there was no one
to care for him, and then it just it's just
a terrible, just awful story. If he if, if it's if,
it's what they say, Yeah, And according to the autopsy,
they can pretty much pen that she died on February
eleventh and him on the eighteenth.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
So there's the there's the update on that. Also, speedy, uh,
I know you've been following this saga is the ongoing
reading of the the audio version of the book that's
coming out in late in late May. If everything goes
the way that it should, If everything goes the way
that it should, based on the studio time today and
(12:37):
the pace at which we are going, we should be
done today. This should be my final day in the studio. Wow.
And so have they.
Speaker 5 (12:46):
Given you any guidelines on what you can talk about
and what you can't?
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I know you'll blow right through.
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Though.
Speaker 2 (12:51):
I think I think now as long as I keep
saying late may, I think I'm pretty clear.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Now.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
You know, they'd rather me not tell the whole book
before it comes out. They'd rather be do that, not
tell anything smart. But a lot of the stories in
it you've heard about on the show. We just kind
of give you more background on it. But there's there's
more to it. There's one thing we got to get
some clarity on. And uh, and I'm going to one
thing I keep struggling with a little bit is I'm
finding things in the book that because they supposedly there
(13:21):
was the advance copies the paperbacks at the conference, and
then there's been another edit, and I'm now looking at
the latest edit obviously for the audio book, but I'm
still finding things in it that they got to correct.
And uh, and so but I'm I'm fixing it on
the audio as I go, so the audio will make
it a little Yeah, And and what some of it
(13:43):
is the way that we talk in our culture. Some
of these editing people have got to understand it needs
to be the way we talk in our culture, whether
it's grammatically correct or not.
Speaker 7 (13:55):
You know.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
And one thing that I call Greg, this is going
to drive you crazy one thing, and I think it's right.
Here we go.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
This is when you you've.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Read the paperback and and so you see if you
can remember this. I looked at it as I got
to the story of the chapter, you can't worry about that,
and they keep saying you can't worry about it.
Speaker 5 (14:15):
I didn't notice that.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
And I was like, well, that's not what Dad said.
Speaker 7 (14:17):
That.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
It's not that might have been grammatically correct, but that
they would change it based on what example.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
He was using.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
They would say you can't worry about that. Then they
say you can't worry about this. And then of course
the biggest offense is they named the chapter you can't
worry about it. That's not what he said, those words
you can't worry about that. And so I did it
right on the audio, but I immediately got with everybody, say, hey,
that's not correct. That that's Dad never said you can't
worry about it. That's not what he said. He said
you can't worry about that. He'd emphasize that you can't
(14:45):
worry about that.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
That makes sense.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
They kept trying to change it. You can't change that.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
That makes sense.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, So anyway, you know, this has been important to
I'm catching some things that I think, you know, for
the final But what I'm talking about, they didn't have
it that way, I don't think in the paper. But
I don't think so because somebody went and made a change.
I don't think it was in the It wasn't. Yeah, yeah,
so so we don't think it was. I'm catching something
I'm catching. I would have caught that.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Well there's a couple of questions, my gracious leading up
to it.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Did you get fed?
Speaker 5 (15:16):
I did.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
About They ordered lunch and it was and somebody had
gone and got some snacks. Now I brought some because
you fool me once, shame on, shame on. You fowed
me twice, shame on me, or you know, something like that.
So we made sure that didn't happen again. Also inside
the little studio thing, because you know it's it sound proof,
(15:41):
not a lot of air circulating in there. Big big
Papa got little stuff here.
Speaker 5 (15:45):
Well, I was worried about that, hoodie. I told you
you were right. It was hot in there.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
At one point I said, hey, we blow through it.
A little air through here, and he the guy I said,
I said, well, it pick up on the on the
mic and he was like, no, I'm not in there.
He said that that's totally soundproof. In there, we can,
we can, I said, if you can move the air
around other than year, I realized I basically was sitting
in the hot box. Yeah, because you know what I mean,
when you go in to read something, it's you know
(16:11):
what it is. I'm in the one where they put
the singer. Yeah, you know that's it's tied in there.
That's a small, little boss and the walls are really thick,
and that door is real one small.
Speaker 5 (16:22):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
You sing it all in there and do some Christina
Aguilera runs.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Okay, let's see, let's get you out of your.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
Ye and you cover one year. You know, I feel
like you can sing me.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
They you're just gonna be talking. We don't need you
to sing. All right, Let's check your make.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
That's not what you're just reading, sir, Yeah, what's coming?
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Really need to finish that today? Boy, I know you
wanted three three sessions.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
That's amazing. That's a lot.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Can I ask you all this question? And this I
guess I need to ask the publisher. So at the
end of the book, there's questions that go with each
chapter that you can do a Bible study with.
Speaker 5 (17:08):
Do I have to read those questions? On the audio version?
Do you expect the questions?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
They're designed for you to be like, you know, to
do a Bible study on each chapter with? Do I
have to read the questions? Like are you going to
ride along? And I say question one? And then you
think about it?
Speaker 5 (17:28):
I mean, I'm not.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
How much time do you give? Because in a book
you can read it and then think about it, But
on an audiobook, it's like, all right, how much pause
it now? If you want to think about this?
Speaker 2 (17:37):
More? Like what do you do think before before I
read you the second question? Paul's now right?
Speaker 4 (17:44):
I don't know what then?
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Does anybody know that somebody ever listened to an audio
version of like a Bible study that?
Speaker 5 (17:49):
Do you do that?
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Maybe?
Speaker 5 (17:50):
Get an everything from cover to I think you're reading
whatever is in the.
Speaker 4 (17:53):
Picky cut it, Rick, I think you gotta cut it.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
You got to record it.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
We have to stop once because I was doing the
acknowledgements when I got to my baby brother emotional.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
I know that's not right, Yeah, shut it right right
for you?
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Okay? It?
Speaker 8 (18:11):
So body when I said NFL sheets and herb do that.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Oh, I thought you good an emotional about your dad.
We didn't know you're going to shut that over your
little brother.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
Hepton's alright, this is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
The election went well, and I know we're excited about that,
but I want you to know that as we're trying
to make this nation great again, get back inside the constitution. Uh,
let me say, Patriot Mobile has been leading the charge
on this refusing. I know some of us were like, man,
I just don't feel good about sending my money to
(19:10):
filling the Blank company because of the things that they
embrace and the things they're trying to advance. And you think, well,
do I have any choice? Well, Patriot Mobile has been
given us a choice for a while now, folks. As
America's only Christian conservative wireless provider, Patriot Mobile has a
way for you to also vote with your wallet without
compromising on quality or convenience. It's not just about providing
(19:34):
exceptional cell phone service. It's also a call to defend
the rights and freedoms that we are trying to bring back,
and we have already embraced. You don't have to fund
these other companies. Now, sometimes you do it because you
don't think that Patriot Mobile will provide the same quality.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
But you're wrong.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
They're on the same three major networks, so you're not
going to compromise quality price. They've got deals that may
work better for you right now. How at a lower price?
Keep your phone if you want to, keep your number
if you want to. But if you want to change,
they'll make that easy too. How about this American based
customer service. Yes, hallelujah. So why don't you realize that
(20:14):
you have a choice and go now to Patriotmobile dot
com slash Rick are called nine seventy two Patriot How
about a month of free service? Okay, you get a
month free with the promo code Rick. See how you
like it? Switching out to Patriot Mobile.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
A voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burger Show now here.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
We are thanks for being with us today. Much much
much to update and we can't wait to speak to
you at eight eight eight the number six Big Vox
check our website Rick Burgessshow dot com.
Speaker 9 (21:08):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Looking forward to this week uh and we'll talk more
about that. Some things come up this weekend that if
you want to participate you can get an update.
Speaker 5 (21:16):
On something too.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
All right, So have you been to my store dot
com yet? If you haven't, my store dot com. Mike Lindale,
you know, watching him in the in the cancel culture.
It's so sad that our country has gotten to the
point that, you know, if you know, somebody doesn't like
your political views or your you know, your look at morality,
(21:41):
and you know, and they say, well, you know what
we don't like you. I don't care about your products.
I don't care about your livelihood. We don't want anyone
to be able to buy your products. Well, what about
people making that choice for themselves? There there's a concept
that the founding FA authors were pretty big on. But
Mike Lindale has has stood against those that wanted to
cancel him. Now, the problem that people have now that
(22:02):
even what we do for a living, if anyone decides
to keep us from having access to you, there's too
many platforms now, same thing when it comes to products.
They may keep you out of their stores. Only to
their demise, you just simply go online and order and
have it shipped to your house and my store dot com.
Lyndell knows the struggle, so he's provided this platform for
(22:24):
others that may be in the same situation that he
was in. These are entrepreneurs that can't quite seem to

know what, and they can't seem to get it on Amazon.
So my store dot com is set up for them,

out today at mystore dot com and use the code
big vox and save yourself some money. All right, So
some other things to discuss. Hopefully we will get that
done today, but also over the weekend and speedy.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
This may be.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
I don't and Adair, if I'm jumping ahead, forgive me
because I should have said this to you, but because
I don't know there's video of this or not. Caitlyn
Clark suffering the awkward loss to Eli Manning in basketball
shooting contest. Yeah I think you have that. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'm sorry. I meant I didn't even think about it
(23:28):
that there might be a video of this. I was
just going to do the story. You know, this kind
of goes back to what Riley Gaines said. You know,
Riley Gaines is standing up for women's sport, and she
made the comment one time that her husband is a swimmer,
but in the men's world, he's middle of the pack, mediocre.
(23:48):
She at one time, you know, was the best female
swimmer and one of the best in the world. Best
we got and one of the best in the world.
And she said she couldn't beat him in swimming. Yeah, okay,
because she said, that's how far a gap there is.
And of course you remember the story we told it
a lot back in the Rick and Bubba days of
the Williams sisters getting beat by a very lowly ranked
(24:12):
I think he was an Australian who was older and
beat them in tennis.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
And smoking and drinking while smoking.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
And drinking while he played. Yeah, and so this may
be another example of that. And now keep in mind,
I know Eli Manning in his prime was probably a
multi sport athlete course and then had to choose his
he preferred football. I'm sure he was a good basketball player,
but he's long retired and wasn't even his number one sport. Okay,
(24:44):
It's not like they went out there and Caitlyn got
beat by him in a passing contest throwing the football
through you know, tires or something. He's forty one. Now
he's forty one, and she is in her prime one
of the best female basketball players. We got to be fair.
It's the game, it's what we have. It's no, it
was just It's just. It just means you would you
(25:06):
would think Kaitlin Carton could beat all of us in
that you can get on the court and shoot. Yeah,
this is not a judge. They're playing our game a game.
Speaker 5 (25:15):
It's pretty funny because she's even surprised by how bad
he beat her.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Yeah, I mean he beat her by like twenty points.
So they're doing what we do. It's the exact same
game we have if I do like that, and that
they have in the middle of the two too, they're
doing the burgers ball battle.
Speaker 4 (25:32):
They have their own lanes.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
They have their own lanes, which is nice.
Speaker 4 (25:34):
I guess they didn't get theirs at Costco Idea.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Yeah, and now I will say that Eli has a
sweet shot, Okay, and she does too, but she can't
believe it right. The only difference is it looks like
these are normal sized goals. They look they are bigger.
Look that this is like something you would have an arcade.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
It looks like in time high score that set the
high score.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Yes, I got your record. Yeah it's boaking high score.
Seventy six to fifty one.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Wow. Yeah, yeah, she couldn't believe it.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Something that does prove. I know, Greg hated.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
That, Well, they didn't play one on one like twenty one.
Speaker 5 (26:12):
Who can ad just the rims. It's not the same thing.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Well you would think that, he said, it's the same.
No one says the same thing. But I mean, if
she beat him in flag football, we'd be saying something, yeah,
and what will we say, hey, you play real football.
I mean we would, but I'm talking about still that
would be a quite I'm just saying that that doesn't
that get him on the basketball.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
This does if you want this page right here, one
proves our point. If you look, you can see the
event one hundred meters, you know, five thousand meters.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Greg agrees with the overall talking out there playing a game,
he may beat her were they're shooting basketball, But if
you look at the game where they're shooting basketball, but
it wasn't on a ten foot goal. What if they
were throwing footballs at and Caitlyn Cart beat him, So
there's an arcade game and they were throwing football us
a game. What if she beat him at the Dr
Pepper thing doing the two hands shop. Hey, y'alls, that's
(27:06):
why I'm saying those people who win the Doctor Pepper thing,
they don't even go overhand, right, I mean.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
If you look here, you can see that at the
ages of fifteen and even fourteen, boys are beating the
women's world records in all of these events. Right, nobody's
arguing that at the ages of fourteen and fifteen. This
one proves the point that Greg is trying to keep
us from me.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
No, I'm just saying that it's a it's an arcade game,
not a basketball.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
Shoot.
Speaker 2 (27:35):
They were shooting out of the court. I thought they
were on a court playing basketball. I'm looking to stand
in front of Arcade seventy six fifty one, not close.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Yeah, I'm just the funny part of it all is
is that she is a w NBA superstar and he
was he played football, and anyway that that's the that's
the joke, and that's what everybody's having fun with. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Greg's a Democrat. Yeah, but I think women should be in.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
You need to go because you dominated that all of
a sudden, You're go going to basketball court and dominate.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
And dominate you.
Speaker 2 (28:05):
That's right, right, So Greg said, you know what Greg said.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
Leah Thomas is Greg's favorite swim.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
We would dominate her one on one. Do you know
what I said? No, Eli, and by I don't know,
maybe not.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
I'd have to see his ball handling skills and all that.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
You know, there was a lot more involved in that
than just shooting at a on this level.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
And if he's like me, he's probably been practicing at
night to be better.
Speaker 9 (28:30):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
Do you know what Greg said to me when I
asked him? I said, so you acknowledge that men are
superior to women biologically and so an unfair advantage. Greg
said yes. I said, then why don't you care? And
you know, Greg said, mercy and grace.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Yes, but what men and women are equal? Get all mad.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
We sure they're equal, but they're beautifully distinct. We've established
that beautifully.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Greg thinks men should play with women, and you know
women's that's fine.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
I will admit this. It is shocking that that teenage
males are breaking the world records in track and field
from adult females.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
That is quite a gap.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Yeah, it is. Well to me, the Rally Games example
we gave, that's a pretty big deal, right, I mean,
yeah that Look at the guy who became a girl.
He was minute packing then now he's the best swimmer
in the world as a female.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
That's who beat now.
Speaker 2 (29:20):
I don't think this arcade game proved any even though
they were having fun at the arcade.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
You can tell Caitlyn is so competitive she couldn't believe it.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
Greg should like it a bit. Greg said, this is like,
it's not fair either because her being female. Greg said,
it's like Eli Manning getting beat by her unfolding shirts
and Washington dishes. He said, he just just would be fair.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
It wouldn't be fair. They clearly have an advantage.
Speaker 2 (29:50):
We'll come back one.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
Of the player by men and women are equal, In
fact were beautifully. We hold women at a higher beautifully.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
Get him in a kid to be quiet.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Okay, wow, flip flopping Adler, have.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
You been in the coffee? Now you're standing up? Take
us headphones off again. You're not gonna make it at
this space, Addler, You're coming in way too hot, too quick.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
What this is the Rick Burgess Show? Only in America?
Could these four men do this for a living? God
bless America.
Speaker 9 (30:29):
This is the Wick.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
Come on with it, America.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Thanks for being with us today, loving it, hanging out
with you.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
Much to do.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
We've got a couple of things I want to run
by the gang today. Two things.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
All right, So.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
There's no way any of us would do it, but
I find myself starting to be interested. It started on
Friday and it continued through the weekend. I keep getting
this call and it keeps coming in, and it always
says no caller ID. It's not a number that I
don't have in contact, no caller ID and the zero zero,
(31:17):
and they've called. They've called multiple times, and every time
I see that, I'm like, it's not a good time,
So I don't answer it because your first thought is
telemarket or whatever, so you're not going to answer it.
The first time it was easy, No way I'm answering
no caller ID. But over the years of us doing
(31:38):
this for a living, a lot of the no caller
IDs are things like Washington, D C. Calling certain celebrities calling,
and so there's a little bit of intrigue. I can't
if No Caller ID calls me at a window today
that I can answer. I'm going to That's what I
because they keep calling multiple times.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
You know.
Speaker 2 (32:00):
One of my thoughts is it's been from Lawn, Mississippi.
He's calling me. You know he's got you know when
that because we know multiple people who know him, and
I had one guy said I gave him your number
because I told him you were coming to town and
if and if y'all wanted to hang out or whatever
on Saturday when you come in, I'm trying to connect y'all,
(32:23):
so you may get a call from him. So evidently
I'm right, yes, that he's not getting a call from No,
he's not.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
Do you know that when you with that no Caller ID,
do you think what you can push it down and
hold it and copy it and then paste and it'll
show the number.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Really, I did not know that. No chance I'm ever
going to do that, but thank.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
You for bringing it up.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
But no, So I have this thing with Ben back
to being multiple calls, multiple calls, answer that I know,
but every time they call somebody.
Speaker 5 (32:52):
The third time, I would answer Greg, Now, you wouldn't
not if you were doing what I was doing.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
I have. I have this this vision that that Ben's
gonna become good friends with us, I do. It looks
like he's really excited about reaching out. He's called me
three times. Yeah, he's really really get to that. I thought, well,
you know, the first thought, it is a crazy thought.
Trump's calling me Trump, Trump's.
Speaker 5 (33:15):
Trump say it is Fox News a lot when back
in the day, do you think it's handy? But I
have his sale who keeps calling me?
Speaker 2 (33:24):
Do that I leave in a message?
Speaker 5 (33:25):
No, nothing, we'd see.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I think they're not leaving a message because they think
they have to give me their number for me to
call them back, or knowing me my voicemail is completely full.
Now oh yeah, which I'll let it feel. It'll feel
it'll feel quick, so much quicker than you think.
Speaker 9 (33:38):
I know.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
So so anyway, so this is the weekend. It's swear
they wouldn't leve they're trying to buy you land.
Speaker 5 (33:45):
You get that a lot?
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Oh good, great, somebody tries to buy parts of the
land or all the land. Letters and I get calls
from that you know I love this, and I go,
we're interested. The first of all, so you're gonna give
me some ridiculous low price right. The second of all,
actually live on it, So no, I'm I'm not selling.
I'm having fun with it. And I love the farm.
I love it so much. You'll know that need to
get there a little more. But I love the farm.
(34:07):
But I had somebody do that to me one day.
Of course, they're always trying to lowball you. They're they're
hoping you're in a bind. And and then the most
of them are not this aggressive. And then the guy
got real aggressive with me, like you're talking about come on, man,
I mean nothing, you know, and and keep in mind
it's not near worth this, not even close. And I said, okay,
I said you you want it. I said, let me
(34:28):
tell you one thing right now, I'll call moving trucks
and we'll start emptying out the houses. I'll take five
million dollars. And then he said, well, hung up on.
I said, well, you asked, I mean, is there a
number you know that that I would sell it to you,
And that's the number. Of course I love it. But anyway,
so if if that call comes again today I'm answering it,
(34:48):
but you're right, it's probably some of them. But because
there's probably been you're okay from probably scammers.
Speaker 5 (34:57):
Right, Ben?
Speaker 2 (35:00):
What if I answered it and it was it was
one of those AI things and it had had Adler's
voice fakes on it, Rick, I need you.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
You need to pay bail right now? Have I been
arrested Jerry duty again? I am getting those every since
we talked about the toll bridges and and and you know,
driving and there's tons of sun passes and stuff. I've
started getting text messages, hey you need to pay, and
I'm like, no.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
There's a lot of people said we helped them by saying, hey,
that's a scam. Do not click on, do not reign.
Some toll bridge has got you. You better pay right now.
You're gonna lose your license. Do not click on those
all right. So the other thing was this past which
I'm gonna find out about this this no caller I do, And.
Speaker 5 (35:40):
I need everybody that knows Ben Napier's let's don't bother Ben.
Speaker 7 (35:43):
No.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
No, I need y'all turn it up.
Speaker 5 (35:45):
Friends of friends of his that just go, hey, no,
he's legit, don't be scared of Rick, you know, because
I'm sure he gets a lot of good ones that
want to him to call.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
You know, I'm gonna reach out in the fact that
I'm coming into Laura, Misissippi. I'll be at Bethlehem Church
by the way that Lord willim This Sunday, we got
eight o'clock men's breakfast. I'm speaking at the service, and
then a pastor's dinner Sunday night. But but I'm coming
in on Saturday to go ahead and get there because
of the breakfast is early the next morning. And I mean,
maybe Ben and I we hang out little.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
I don't know. Maybe people say that they've stopped by
his shop and he's there. Oh really yeah, maybe got
you and Cherry just because what shop.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
I bet they love strike some kind of handy thing
that's not my atmosphere. But you're not there to do
work to meet him, but he'll want to talk about woodwork,
the mold a little. I think a little shop being handy.
I think they have a little shop now making all
that up. But I think you're off out of control.
All of course, keep in mind Laurel real close to Hattiesburg,
(36:44):
and you know we're not allowed there anymore after the incident.
So some people say, you're gonna ease on over to Hattiesburg.
Now I don't think sothing.
Speaker 5 (36:50):
Go by the theater and check.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
I don't think I will, by the way, Uh, long,
long time listener, And now with us on the new show,
Tim Chick he sent me and everybody makes fun of
us in the in the what we call the chandelier
incident of twenty twenty and know when?
Speaker 5 (37:06):
Was it twenty fourteen?
Speaker 2 (37:09):
I cannot believe it? Something like that, yeah, twenty whatever,
twenty years from nineteen ninety four?
Speaker 5 (37:14):
Was that's twenty fourteen?
Speaker 10 (37:15):
Right?
Speaker 4 (37:15):
Twenty three? Yeah, thirteen? Maybe I don't know, fourteen, but
it's a fourth something like that.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
So anyway, whenever, the twenty year we Never Been.
Speaker 4 (37:26):
Nowhere tour was thirty four.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
What do you do? So anyway, so we don't.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
Also known as the Lardie Tour.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah, so Tim, Tim Chick, you know, sent me a
picture if he's in he was at Knoxville for some
concert or something. He goes, this is probably a better
way to use the chandeliers than it was in the lobby,
not inside. The actual event was and thank you for that.
Jat was but the whole, the whole deal this weekend
about the time change.
Speaker 5 (37:55):
Oh did it change? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:58):
So the I completely forgot about it, Hey completely forgot
about it. I was sound, I was in the bed
when it hit me. Oh my goodness, this is this
is we got to go forward, and I and and so.
So then you start thinking about, you know, could it.
I don't want to dream. I don't want to dream.
I really don't. Is it possible? I mean I'm right
(38:20):
now literally looking at the control board at the studio,
and the clock is wrong. Okay, for some reason, it
doesn't set itself.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
Here we went year. I think I don't know that changes. Yeah,
every you.
Speaker 2 (38:31):
Would see that one, right, there's automatic. Why can't this
one bell?
Speaker 5 (38:34):
I don't know which.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
We asked that question twice, by the way. Another reason
I might Another reason I might keep the super rude
It changed on its own. Well, that's the one in
the ram. I got an older model. It doesn't okay,
so but what But yeah, I don't want to dream.
But there's a little I have just a little glimmer
of hope, and I want you to talk me down
that this is the last time we're we're going to
(38:56):
do that. Taught me down, So don't don't dream like that.
Speaker 5 (39:00):
I don't think it's possible until I see it happen.
I don't think it's pob because twice a year we
all here we go, we're gonna talk about it, you know,
make it. Let everybody's gonna do.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
There seems to be something now that I've got Trump
in there, I just now's the time to get it
there in his administration. I'm starting to get a little hopeful,
but I don't want to let my hopes get up
too high.
Speaker 5 (39:19):
Did I see it?
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Was it a fake headline that he had said he's
not doing that?
Speaker 5 (39:24):
No, I didn't see that. Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (39:25):
For some reason, you were your arms cross makes me
thinking wild killed joy. You just sucked the air out
of here?
Speaker 11 (39:30):
Are you sure?
Speaker 2 (39:30):
I haven't seen it anywhere else? Because I saw Lea's
appointed today. I found it somewhere. I saw tuber Bulle
standing up saying, let's not let's tell America this. So
I know that. Yeah, he's got a big kick on it.
Speaker 5 (39:42):
Kick, Well it it ain't gonna happen. Okay. So you say, Rick,
don't get your hopes out.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
Well, I'm trying to protect you, okay, and then when
it happened, you'll be surprised. I had a little bit
of hope rise up in me when I was going
to all the old clocks at the house and was
changing them all Sunday morning, and then realizing it was
raining and time change and no one would be at
church on time. I'm letting a little bit of hope's
want to be starting to rise over.
Speaker 1 (40:09):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 9 (40:22):
You better listen up, you know, like we say, as
you gotta find.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
Broadcasting from the world the Rick Burgers Show and.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
Come on in. Hey, we're in desperate need of some reality.
The real world is here as we update you on
the news headlines of the weekend, what's happening inside the show,
interacting with you on the text option, on the phone,
call emails. We got another a bird coming up, so
(41:04):
we'll get some questions from you via email as well.
The gang all here today, so we got Speedy, we
got Greg, we got at and if you missed the
first hour, we don't forget. Our gives are available for
you daily on the Rick Burgess Show podcast channel and
(41:27):
the YouTube channel as well. Best Up Hour for Blaze
TV subscribers, and also a best of hour on the
audio if you just kind of want a real nutshell
of today's programmer. All right, so as we start this hour,
a couple of things to work through from the weekend.
We will we will talk about how it went on
(41:49):
on the baptism that that's coming up. We'll talk about
that a little bit later on. And so so I was,
you know, how we give you all the different stages
of life that we you know, are when you all
roll through it with us. So now modern day and
here on this show, our next endeavor and all the
(42:10):
other things we're doing. You've got Adler who still has
small children. You got the rest of us with adult children,
and then two of us even with grandchildren.
Speaker 5 (42:20):
That's where we are now, Okay.
Speaker 2 (42:21):
Guys, that's that's the reality of the guys. Now. So
when this adult children world, there is I have adult
children and then there's I have male adult children, two
completely different things. And so you remember there was a
moment last weekend, not the one just passed, but the
(42:43):
one before that, for a brief, fleeting moment, three of
my four children that are here on earth with me,
and then all three males for just a brief moment
we were all in Atlanta at the same time we did,
and of course unbeknownst to me that.
Speaker 5 (43:01):
We will all be there together.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
Yeah, Young Broderick was hired out to work the conference,
and I saw him briefly. Then Big Love actually lives there.
He couldn't see me. He was tied up with work
and this new certification he's getting. And then right as
we're leaving, I get a text from my oldest male. Oh,
by the way, my wife and I just landed in Atlanta,
(43:24):
and I'm like, what I'm leaving, and so hey, I'll
try to get we want to come see y'all, which
would have been this past weekend. We're here, my wife's
got a convention here with her job. We're going to
go see his in laws, the Curtises, and and that
(43:46):
they live in the Atlanta area, and then we'll roll
over to Birmingham, Alabama and go see everybody. And then
Shere's like, Oh, I've got this reservation at this place
that I've been wanting to go eat brunch. We can
have a whole brunch discussion. And I had Brodie and
(44:07):
his wife booked. But now Brody's told me he can't come.
I kept the reservation. Now with this plug, Blake and
his wife in and it's Blake's birthday on Saturday. It's
all coming together works and I can't remember the last
time that my oldest son was home for his birthday,
and I thought, well, this is really coming together. Well,
you know what, God had his hand on this as well. Sadly,
(44:32):
now everything's okay. She's recovering. But his mother in law,
who listens to the show every single day on the
podcast archives and tries to catch it live on YouTube,
which you can from Atlanta. Stephanie Curtis, just wonderful woman
of God and just such a kind woman, had a
(44:52):
heart issue while Blake and his wife her daughter were
in town, and praise God, they were here for that
and she ended up having to.
Speaker 5 (45:01):
Have heart surgery.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
What yeah, So she's doing good, she's recovering fine. They
had to go with a pair of valve and they
were telling me all the details with that. I didn't
really follow it. So and she did the right thing.
As far as my daughter in law, she was excited
about coming to see us, But obviously mom has recovered.
Speaker 5 (45:18):
Blake was there.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
From that, she's still recovering. I'm going to stay here
with her, not going to make the trip over to Birmingham.
You know, then we'll fly back whatever. And she did
the right thing. She was disappointed in it, but she
did the right thing. So so we did get to
see Blake and his mother in law shout out to
the Curtises. Is doing fine, and I hope she continues
to recover and looks like everything's great and that they
(45:40):
got the problem solved. So but we got to see
Blake a little bit on this This is Saturday morning.
A picture here and this is a place I'm going
to go down two areas.
Speaker 3 (45:52):
Now.
Speaker 2 (45:52):
You sit down with your children, and you know there's
a lot going on, especially with him. He's usually on
a tour or doing something. And we were able to
sit down and talk and and get and catch up
a little bit. But you know, they'll leave stuff out.
You know, there's all kinds of things and and you'll
(46:12):
you'll hear something you're doing, what you did?
Speaker 5 (46:14):
What?
Speaker 2 (46:14):
And then you're like, did you do I not tell
you about that? No, you don't tell us anything, so
you know, we don't this. And then of course, if
Brodie had been there, he was like well, this is
how we all feel.
Speaker 5 (46:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:23):
Uh, well when you don't tell us anything. But what's
weird is this is so weird about brothers. I said,
did you get a chance to see your brother in Atlanta? Now?
Now we couldn't. We couldn't get together. Okay, have you
seen your other brother while you're here? I know, No,
he has some shoot he's doing. Okay, so y'all, y'all
all have been in each other's towns and you haven't
(46:44):
seen each other.
Speaker 4 (46:45):
No.
Speaker 2 (46:45):
Now, we just ain't had a chance. I'm like, okay,
this is classic class. You know, if if it been
a bunch of females, they would all been you know,
we got to do this, we gotta. They haven't even
remotely seen each other. Please go buy and see your
grandmother way here, you know, like yeah, I try that.
So anyway, but one of the things that we were
doing and visiting and getting updated on, we went to
(47:06):
a place. How many of you are familiar if I
said the term tapas to you, do you know what
I'm talking about?
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (47:13):
Yeahs tapass I discovered it make baseball cards. It's a
Spanish thing, and I don't mean Mexican, I mean Spanish.
From Spain, and I was. I remember when Sherry and
I went on a vacation one time, we went to
this restaurant and Sherry was like, well, you know know
this restaurant they served tapas.
Speaker 7 (47:35):
Well.
Speaker 2 (47:35):
I thought that was like one of the choices on
the menu. Is it a good She was none, that's
a style of eating. What do you mean? Huh? And
tapa's It's almost like now, if I was going to
break it down and a lot of you out there
going we all know what tapas is, but those of
you that don't, if I were to break it down,
it's like we're here and we're going to keep serving you,
(47:56):
but all you're going to eat is appetisers one after another.
They're small plates, small, they're a little tiny like like
I went with you know, I saw where it had,
you know, quail and waffles, and I love quail, and
I said I'll have that and I said, how big
were talking? And even the person services, we're not talking
big and he I mean she almost being me. A
(48:18):
bunch of little plates. They just keep them coming. It's
like you went up. I mean literally literally it was
a waffle about this big and I'm just doing a
circle and some top and a little piece of quail
on top of it. But that you don't just eat one,
You're supposed to eat multiples, and it's it's just never
like this. It's just never ending Tampas. Now, I will
tell you that they all were delicious, but it gets
(48:39):
a little frustrating when you kind of hit on one
you really like, can you ask for it back? Like
I wanted to, can you run that one again for me?
And uh So, I don't know how I felt about Tampa's.
We did this once when we were on vacation, and
I thought, well, this has been a nice little something,
but I found myself going it was delicious, the food
(49:02):
was great, but I found myself kind of just saying,
I just kind of want.
Speaker 5 (49:06):
To order a plate.
Speaker 2 (49:08):
And that's not an OBF. There limited on now you
go top for this setup. Now on their other day,
you know, time frames like dinner may be different, but
they're brunch plus brunch to me is a whole weird world.
The world of brunch is a strange world. You don't
know what you're doing, you don't know do I still
eat lunch after this? Was this breakfast and what they're
trying to tell you, I'm like, when do I hold
(49:31):
out for dinner? Are you you know, and those of
us that like to eat, are you counting this as
two meals? Y'all are calling it brunch, which is a
combination of lunch and breakfast. Are you trying to say
I'm done with those two meals right now and dinner's
the next stop or where we come from supper? So,
but then, but my son brought up something I like
(49:52):
to kick around. Okay, we kicked tapas around a little bit, Greg,
I can tell your frowning over the top of the format.
I would just be concerned.
Speaker 5 (49:59):
Like you're saying, is that if you love one of
them and you want more of it and then they
bring one out, you're not really a big fan of
Like I have one where it.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Was basically breakfast was built on top of a piece
of corn bread. Well, I got fired up. The piece
of corn bread was so little. I was like, my goodness,
and you know it was Can I just have this
one a bunch?
Speaker 7 (50:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (50:15):
Can you hit me?
Speaker 5 (50:16):
Hit me with this one?
Speaker 1 (50:17):
This is the rick Burgers show. This is what Trump
had in mind when he sought to make America great again.
(50:38):
The rick Burgers show, just doing.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
Our part, just doing our part. Thanks your man with us.
Do you feel secure right now? Do you feel like
like when you head out for the day today? Do
you feel like your house do you feel like when
you go home today? Do you feel like your office
is secure? If you have some land, do you feel
like get secure? Got a lake house, maybe a beach house,
(51:04):
whatever the case may be.
Speaker 5 (51:05):
Do you feel like it's secure?
Speaker 2 (51:07):
Well, if you're not quite sure, and if you don't
have a simply safe system, it could be more secure.
I will tell you that this is the latest not
being with simply safe as almost just kind of being
out of touch. They've used the modern technology to take
security to a whole new place. All their systems are
customizable to the property. It's no longer the bowler plate. Well,
(51:29):
here comes our awkward, intrusive security system. We'll have to
make it work. And by the way, if you don't
like holes in the wall, good luck to you. But
they use their sensors, they use their cameras, they use
AI technology for good and got an email as a
matter of fork over the weekend said our friend Glenn
Beck was talking about we just need to embrace AI
(51:50):
because there's a lot of great things you can do
with it. This is one of them. So right now
simplysafe dot com slash big vox claiming fifty percent off
a new system right now with a professional monitoring plan.
But you do want that because active guard, the live
guard protection, I mean they're watching the property in real time.
They can respond so much quicker. Stop a break in
(52:12):
before it ever happens. Get the fire department there if
they see a fire, get somebody there to help with plumbing,
if they see elak, medical emergencies, carbon monoxide, all that.
It's just a safety that only they provide. So get
yours now. It's simply Safe dot com slash big vox.
If this is your first system, you'll get it fifty
(52:33):
percent off. The link also at Rick Burgess show dot
com under sponsors. There's no doubt about it. There's no
safe like simply safe dot com slash big vox. So
I was visiting, which is a rarity with my older son,
the oldest son that I have, second oldest child. He
lives in New York City with his beautiful wife, Priscilla. Again,
(52:56):
they came to Atlanta, where his wife is from, for
a convention they're seeing the in laws. By the grace
of God, they were able there and able to be
with uh the mom mother in law, Stephanie when she
had the herd incident, and other kids flew in because
she has a big family. So all that worked out.
He gets he gets over. We miss not being able
(53:17):
to see her, but she did the right thing. But
we really wanted to see her too, because she's she's
so much fun to be around. And so we we
are eating our tapas, which a lot of you are saying, Rick,
are you saying topless? And I'm gonna saying topless now
as a matter of fact, on that note, did you
see that Hooters is shutting down? But anyways, so the
so you see it's Clark I did. I heard they
(53:37):
were in financial trouble. Okay, okay, but but but anyway,
the so so it's it's it's top us t o
p a and it's basically small plates and they're delicious.
T a is it t a okay? T A p
a whatever, Tapa tapa whatever.
Speaker 4 (53:55):
And it's greg it's Spanish like Spain, not Spanish like Mexico.
Speaker 2 (53:59):
Right, there were no nachos. But anyway, so small plates
food fabulous, you know, things like whenever yours is ready,
they drop in front of you, like there's an awkward
moment like mine came out first, the first little small
plate I asked for. Nobody has food yet, I'm eating
in front of them. Then by the time I finished,
their food comes out. They ask me if I want
(54:20):
something else? Kind of a question that was a waste
of air based time. The answers, yes, you know what
I'm going to ask. What about that small place? They
charged it like as a regular plate. Oh yeah, if
I tell this one right, if that's my point, So
that's a genius move. But all these fancy places, we
give you tiny food to make that sharp, and you're
willing to pay just outrageous amounts for a coast your sharp.
That's how they get you. That's how they get this
(54:41):
one right here. I'm want to get speedy.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
More is more?
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Speedy is not going to this place. I think I
might know, just me, you'll me turn the mike off
and tell you what they charge and the way they
did it. They did one money and then they keep
bringing you tapas for one money. It's this this amount
per person. And while they do real well well how many?
Speaker 5 (55:04):
How many? Well, yeah, they're coming out four times with
four or five different plates, three plates?
Speaker 2 (55:09):
What is one money you lose on me, But there's
so many other people that come down here that you
gain on. And then yeah, oh they do that. I
want them to do great because it's good food. But
you're not going to get a bigger play getting four plates.
Speaker 5 (55:20):
I mean, how many, how many rounds any as you want.
Speaker 2 (55:24):
Oh, but but the problem plates are small. But the
problem is this. They will ask you, don't hit me
with two orders at once. Of course I tried that immediately. Yeah, no, no, sir,
just one ordered time. Don't don't overwhelm me that with
the endless remp. Yeah, the same thing, three different styles
of course, you know, ride out of the gate. I
tell you take that one and that one. I clearly said,
I just wanted to time. So anyway, so you're a
(55:47):
little frustrated with Okay, I'm having I had to re
order every time I wanted something. I wish I could
have just said, here's my five.
Speaker 5 (55:55):
That was my question.
Speaker 2 (55:56):
Just roll them out and I would even say this,
don't overwhelm the shelf or cook or whatever. Just tell
him to send him when he wants to, but I
want to go into word all of them. Yeah, and
and that was not allowed to do that. So there
is a pause after you eat each your two bites.
Speaker 5 (56:12):
You have to sit there.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
You have that's not it. That's topic. Well some of
it is, but that that didn't have sharkcuterie and cheese
plating all that. Now there is a Paul Speedy. There
is absolutely much of one.
Speaker 5 (56:22):
It varies. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (56:25):
See you're waiting, yeah, when you're not full because you
had a little play something and they're not all coming
out for everyboy at the same time, Speedy, what like,
you're eating and I'm not nah m, that calls a fight. Yeah,
so but the food was fantastic. But here, here's here's
what I wasn't waiting on. So we go out and
we're walking around. We're walking around the area. Now you know,
(56:46):
we're trying to glean as much time for our son
as we can before we has to move on to
what he's doing next. And all of a sudden, my
son looks at me and says, dead when you're gonna
stop fighting it? And I was like, what were you
talking about?
Speaker 5 (56:59):
The great? I said, what do you mean?
Speaker 2 (57:02):
Well, I mean you're you're almost completely gray in the beard,
and your hair is starting to get gray. Wyonn't you
just go all gray? And I'm like, you're not choosing it.
Nobody goes all gray.
Speaker 5 (57:11):
What are you talking?
Speaker 2 (57:11):
I don't color my hair gray, he goes. I said,
now people color their hair not to be gray. No,
you need to fully embrace it. He said.
Speaker 5 (57:19):
I don't like. I said, you don't rob me of
my salt and pepper years.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
Yeah's talking about so he's wanting you to make it
get great and then the sherry goes. So you really
want your dad to be Kenny Rogers and and and
all of sudden, Blake goes, Kenny Rogers was awesome, and
and I was, but no, that's you know, interesting me
bringing this up. No one colors to be gray, but
that's what he was suggesting. He was suggesting that I
go full gray before I am full gray. I said,
(57:44):
I'm gonna get there. The beard is almost there. And
he said, yeah, I know, go ahead and go full
gray with the beard. And I said, in the hair goes, yeah,
full gray. I said, you want me to go ahead
Instead of coloring my hair, you want me to take
my dark parts of my hair and dark parts of
my beard and turn them great. He said, exactly, that's crazy.
Do they have gray color? That sounds like you remember
(58:05):
the great mickeydan Bit.
Speaker 5 (58:07):
Yes, somebody accused him of having wig.
Speaker 2 (58:08):
He yeah, I got a great wig, like having false
teeth with a rotten tooth in the front. That's a
great text right there. But anyway, so have y'all ever
heard do people do that?
Speaker 5 (58:22):
I don't think I ask.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
I mean, I don't. I'm not trying not to bed
my hair to be a politician wanting to look with
you know, see, I thought he was about to accuse
me of coloring my hair as you do off from Greg.
But but I'm not.
Speaker 5 (58:34):
You know, That's what I thought.
Speaker 2 (58:36):
He was going to say, Dad, like, are you coloring
your hair? And I'm like, no, just for men have gray.
He wants me to go all gray, he said, go
ahead and go silver fox well himps.
Speaker 4 (58:45):
Two women have been doing this for a while, hipster
chicks like in their twenties and thirties.
Speaker 5 (58:50):
That crazy.
Speaker 2 (58:51):
They used to be called frosting your hair back in
the seventies, didn't it wasn't it? Have y'all heard of this?
Not for men?
Speaker 1 (58:58):
This is the Burgish Show. In order to truly benefit
from this show, you must have a sense of humor.
(59:20):
So like enough Francis and enjoy the Rick Burgish Show.
Speaker 2 (59:24):
We're back. Thanks for being with us. So the tax line,
you've helped out a lot. So I understand there are
women that are they used to call this frosting, and
you have to. I see you got your hair frosting.
Speaker 5 (59:36):
But do y'all know?
Speaker 2 (59:37):
Because men color their hair, and that's certainly their own business,
and it's not something I would do. But I don't
think fault anybody else for doing it.
Speaker 5 (59:45):
I just even if I.
Speaker 2 (59:46):
Wanted to do it, I can't keep up with the
maintenance and all that that would take. So so anyway,
but I've never My son was suggesting that I that
I get rid of the dark hair that I have
in the dark parts of my beard and go completely
silver fox, and I was like, men, men don't do that,
do they? You know most men are trying not if
(01:00:07):
you're cutting here. What I thought he was gonna do
is accuse me that the fact that my hair, if
you look at it up close in the light, there's
a lot more gray there than you can tell on
the show, because you know, we come in, we just
come out of a shower, and it looks even darker
than it is now. But the beard also is on
the sides, is almost completely gray. But I don't want
to be robbed of the salt and pepper years. You know,
salt and pepper. I mean, so I told him that's
(01:00:29):
a that's a dead on arrival. I said, even if
I show up with a full head of gray hair
and us, I'm gonna be fully gray at some point,
I guess before I go on in. Uh, we'll see
ascort how long I'm allowed to live.
Speaker 5 (01:00:42):
But I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
My hair is gonna be the color. My bed's gonna
be the color it is naturally. And that's not some
that's not some me trying to go. I just know me,
even if I desired to have a look, I couldn't
pull it on that that's too much money. I would
not come.
Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
It's not that important.
Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
So anyway people do that, though, listen, if you're gonna
do it well, and you may not care, but just
ease into it.
Speaker 5 (01:01:10):
You can't be coming rogers.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
And then the next day, and there are some men
I don't think they're even trying to fool anybody. They
just want different looks because because of the fooling, somebody's
not come on to your point, nobody, right, they're just
do I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about
hair at all. They're doing what they're doing, what they
want to do, and more power to them if they
can put in that kind of thing.
Speaker 5 (01:01:32):
But I would like for it to look good, but
the elderly.
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
And I'm headed that way, okay, laugh, But you know
I've got an elderly face and my hair is jet black. Yeah,
come on, come on now, careful, all right, I ain't
talking about I'm talking about jet black. Well, let me
tell you when if I when I go completely silverer fox,
the first thing I'm gonna do is sit behind this
night and go lady.
Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
And so I'm gonna tell you all when to fold
them and when and when when to do this and
when to go home. I like the fact that Blake
looked at you and said, quit fighting it. Quit fighting.
Speaker 5 (01:02:07):
You're supposed to just get ahead of it.
Speaker 7 (01:02:09):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:02:09):
One thing I think, deep down, I think because in
our family, genetically like gray hair seemed to be a
little later in life, genetically like, you know are and
and may man I have that way because a lot
of it may be tied to stress or whatever. And
but but anyway, but what But what I'm saying is
I think he almost had this look on his face
(01:02:30):
when he walked away. I said, do you think he's
just thinking, there's not that I'm not going to live
long enough to be completely great and he.
Speaker 5 (01:02:35):
Wants to see it?
Speaker 2 (01:02:38):
Well, you know what I mean. I'm just I was
like that you're dark hair, may hang on for a while,
don't ruin it. I'm like, I think he just wants
to see me as a silver fox one time.
Speaker 4 (01:02:47):
But did he think when he said don't fight it?
Did he think you were dying it? Is that why
he said don't fight it?
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
I think what he's saying is it's great enough to
go ahead and get out of the get out of
the dark parts, go ahead and take them out. I
don't think he said because if I was dying my hair,
I wouldn't have any gray. And I think what he
was saying is you've got enough gray now. He didn't
like the darker hair still being there. He wants it
all gone. I never heard of that approach, never had.
Speaker 4 (01:03:15):
He stopped working out while you're at it, Mike, goodness,
what are we doing right?
Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (01:03:19):
I see you're trying to divert from our next topic,
mister Adler.
Speaker 4 (01:03:22):
I'm not trying to divert nothing. Warrigal.
Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Okay, do you want to apologize to every single Auburn
basketball fan across the country? The number one team in
the nation. Okay, and they played Alabama, the number seventeen. Sure,
they were hammered by Texas A and M. And it
all seems to be that Auburn's basketball team has fallen
apart since you moji of them. I didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:03:46):
I probably shouldn't have said that Tuscaloosa is a garbage
town filled with garbage people.
Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
No, probably not.
Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
I probably shouldn't have said that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:55):
You should not have said after we beat them.
Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
Okay, it's brutal, is what it is. That was probably
not the right thing to do. Okay, when we when
we beat y'all early in the season. And so I
watched the game. I watched the game this weekend, you did,
and and this is actually, this is actually, this is
when I knew it was over. This is in the
first and when a white guy with a mustache gets
(01:04:19):
a dunk like this, Nelson with a When a honkey
with a mustache gets a slam like that on you,
it's not.
Speaker 5 (01:04:28):
It's not good.
Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
Now, what is this crimson crane?
Speaker 7 (01:04:30):
They do?
Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Well?
Speaker 4 (01:04:32):
This is making fun of Auburn would do the crane
because where the war Eagles or something, you.
Speaker 5 (01:04:36):
Know, crane?
Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Why why does a crimson warrigle tiger bunch do a crank?
Speaker 4 (01:04:43):
He just became a thing on on on Auburn's sideline
to do.
Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
A couple of years ago.
Speaker 5 (01:04:48):
Was it Bama that would do it?
Speaker 4 (01:04:50):
And he hit the crane?
Speaker 5 (01:04:52):
Honkey, I've heard the term the crimson crane. You're talking
about Nelson the basketball He's really good.
Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
Oh, I know he is.
Speaker 4 (01:04:59):
I'm making it.
Speaker 12 (01:05:00):
He does.
Speaker 5 (01:05:01):
He does have a.
Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
He's unassuming and the announcers were confused on the crane.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
Too, since a message brand Nelson's like to get a
taunting technical here. Well, that is as impactful of a
basket from the opposing team that you probably have seen,
and there's.
Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
The crane.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
Exactly is a perfect time for a crank. It looks like, yeah,
karate kids for the explanation for the officials. Kind then
I didn't do.
Speaker 4 (01:05:30):
That.
Speaker 5 (01:05:30):
That was what I wanted to bring up.
Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
The announcer said that the officials wouldn't know if that
was for Alabama or for almorn uh, and that they
did call it taunting. The announcers they didn't, but it wasn't.
It wasn't a It shouldn't be like that. It shouldn't
have been. But I thought I found it interesting that
the announcers said that the officials wouldn't know about that.
Aren't they deep in this world? I'm barely in this world.
(01:05:55):
I barely know what I'm talking about, and I know
about the crane. Wouldn't the officials know about the crane?
Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
Are they not?
Speaker 4 (01:06:00):
Are they not doing Crimson crane? They don't pay attention
to this stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:06:03):
Would you realize how many teams they call games for
to know what everybody's symbols?
Speaker 5 (01:06:07):
And I've been a lot to know.
Speaker 4 (01:06:09):
Sure, Sure, I just I just figured I thought all
of if you're super into college basketball, I thought everybody
knew about that. Well I guess not.
Speaker 5 (01:06:16):
Yeah, And I will say this, Everybody saying Alabama started
the crane and it's been going back and forth for years.
It's been a crane.
Speaker 4 (01:06:22):
Okay, see I don't know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
Don't let it stop, you, please, don't let it. I
thought I saw a picture and I'm not being funny
of Bruce Pearl doing the.
Speaker 4 (01:06:30):
Crane, right. Yes, that's what I've always after a winner. Yes, Yes,
that's what I've always seen. So I thought that I
thought they started it, but I guess. I guess Bama
started it to taunt us, and then now we're doing
it back and now we're doing.
Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
It back and forth, and the crane is from Karate Kid.
Speaker 5 (01:06:44):
It is.
Speaker 2 (01:06:45):
It's the indefensible move. Rick, Let's just not forget that.
Speaker 5 (01:06:48):
Just forget that.
Speaker 2 (01:06:49):
But I saw them interview must Day. Granted, Johnny had
only been training for six weeks and beat people that
had been changing their whole life.
Speaker 5 (01:06:55):
Not Johnny, the other one.
Speaker 2 (01:06:56):
What's karate Kid's name in the movie. That's what the
character's name. I don't know, Daniel Danielson the But I
saw a Mustache get interviewed and asked him why he craned,
and he said, honestly, it just it was spontaneous.
Speaker 5 (01:07:12):
And it was he just stuck it.
Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
Funny all right, next here, infensible, Adam. You may struggle
watching this final possession by Alabama for the win and overtime. Okay,
that's just the baseline view. I think he says thanks
Adler after he does. I think, after he you have
killed Auburn's basketball program.
Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
By the way, should I have made fun of that
lady that was on the sidelines in the fight with Withers.
Speaker 5 (01:07:38):
Should not?
Speaker 1 (01:07:38):
Shouldn't?
Speaker 4 (01:07:40):
She should have kept her yapper shut?
Speaker 5 (01:07:41):
All right, this is a baseline view. Here overtime clock
zero right, thanks Saddler. Watch he said thanks, he.
Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Said, Thanksdler, he did.
Speaker 5 (01:07:56):
Watch you do it again.
Speaker 2 (01:07:56):
I'll do the audio with.
Speaker 4 (01:07:58):
It, and see how nice Alburn fans they're throwing towels
because they know the Bama fans are sweaty. That's class,
all right, that's a good host.
Speaker 5 (01:08:07):
Greg. Watch him say thanks Avler.
Speaker 2 (01:08:11):
Watch us right here, and he looks and he says,
thanks Tadler.
Speaker 4 (01:08:15):
He said that's yes, Thanksdler. And then the Auburn fans
throw their towels to be nice to get the sweat
off of the Alabama players.
Speaker 2 (01:08:26):
And people are making a big deal.
Speaker 4 (01:08:27):
This is just being a good host. That's Southern hospitality.
Speaker 2 (01:08:32):
So so the coach Pearl had to come out and
go y'all stop. I understand that.
Speaker 5 (01:08:36):
I understand.
Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
Bama's coach kind of gave you a little your face to.
Speaker 4 (01:08:40):
Look, who's not classy? Now? There here comes Bama's coach.
What's his name, Kaitlyn, Caitlyn de Boor.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
That's the football coach, Kaitlyn de Boor. I don't know,
I don't know the basketball.
Speaker 4 (01:08:52):
Nice Greg, you have interviewed him.
Speaker 11 (01:08:55):
No, I know who.
Speaker 5 (01:08:56):
I'm just messing with that.
Speaker 4 (01:08:57):
Okay, all right, well there he is being tip a
cool Bama fan.
Speaker 2 (01:09:01):
No, let's see, this is not this is your moment.
This is your moment to offer the crane to all
the Bama fans and say, you all beat Auburn straight up,
it was a great game. Congratulations to your team. You
came in a hostile environment and you won a tough game.
Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
Can't you do that? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:09:19):
You split on the seasons.
Speaker 5 (01:09:21):
Split on the seasons.
Speaker 4 (01:09:24):
Here's what I would like to see happen. Boy, we
use this, We use it, use it for motivation.
Speaker 2 (01:09:32):
You know what I just thought about it? Do you
think my my no caller I D call is Bruce
Pearl trying to get Adler's number from me?
Speaker 5 (01:09:39):
Can you stop them? Can you stop this guy.
Speaker 4 (01:09:41):
Shut that guy up. He doesn't even know what he's
talking about. He's an idiot, he's stupid stuff. And guys,
I'm just trying to be funny when I make fun
of us and my brother's Alabama fan. We watched the
Iron bol together. Really not that not that important, really
not that important.
Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
You'll never get that time or your voice damage back?
Was I pumping my fist in my living room by
myself when we did make that?
Speaker 4 (01:10:07):
Which guy's the scory barn.
Speaker 5 (01:10:08):
You're not on the team.
Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
This is the rick Burgers Show. This is where Logic
Beats left The rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
Nine minutes to the top of the hour. Thanks for
being with us today. All right. I just want you
to know I just got a text from probably one
of the biggest Bama fans, friend of mine. I mean,
there is no bigger Bama fan than this man, no
bigger anybody who claims to be a bigger Bama fan,
(01:10:55):
They're delusional. This is the biggest fan Bama has. You
know what he just text me. Tell Adler, thank you,
keep it up, keep it up.
Speaker 4 (01:11:06):
I'm sorry, okay, goodness all right?
Speaker 5 (01:11:09):
Yeah, Also, somebody don'tavan bring up the SEC basketball tournament.
Don't talk about it.
Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
When we win that. We seem to not do very
well in Marchess tournament exit. Let's get second place in
that and then win March.
Speaker 2 (01:11:21):
Madness exit, Tom Sawyer So uh, the and we do.
And I thought this too. People are saying the actual
crane thing, which could anything be dumber than this discussion,
but that the crane thing goes back and I remember
this watching football, you know, the sport that I actually
care about.
Speaker 5 (01:11:39):
And uh.
Speaker 2 (01:11:39):
And they said that it was John his name Metchi. Yeah,
they played for Alabama, that he was the first one
to do the crane and I remember that. I thought
it came from Alabama football.
Speaker 5 (01:11:49):
Yeah. Uh. And then it started going back.
Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
Here player and then like when they got an iron bow,
if albur Made played, they would do it back and
then it kind of back and forth.
Speaker 5 (01:11:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:11:56):
So uh.
Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
The other thing to discuss us today, we got we
got a couple of things to hit. Staying with sport
a little bit, did you see the relay deal where
someone got beat.
Speaker 5 (01:12:10):
With the baton?
Speaker 2 (01:12:11):
You know, somebody is you know, got hit with the
baton during the relay. I watched this is what happened
more often yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:12:18):
I watched this over and over and over again, hoping
that I'm just seeing it wrong and it was some
kind of twist of the arm and it just, oh accidentally.
Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
No, it looks like are y'all telling me? Are y'all
telling me that a female sprinter racing gets other females,
hopefully right in the middle, took the relay as an
opportunity to get somebody back and hit them with the baton. Yes,
did she run into her going by or something that
made her mad?
Speaker 5 (01:12:45):
Watch her?
Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
Okay, one, she's gonna pass and she's about to hit her.
Oh my goodness, wow, oh my goodness, clubbed her. Oh
my goodness. Okay, so this was not She acts like, oh,
I'm sorry. She kind of slows down like oh oh.
So that's why I thought, well, maybe let me watch
it do not mean to know if those of you
that can't see this. There's two women running with the baton.
(01:13:07):
She clearly hits her, and one of them, I guess,
feels the other one is getting in her lane like
Sherry did to me on the beach, And you're not
supposed to get in someone else's lane. And the person
who thought their lane had been infringed on, takes the
baton and clubs the other woman in the back of
the head. I don't know how she could think she
was in her lane. She was clearly in hers. I
(01:13:27):
mean she never even I mean, yes, she went in
her lane after she got hitting the bat Okay, all right,
now let's go to theory too. She's she just passed her.
Speaker 5 (01:13:36):
Comes around her out there, you am right in the
back of the head.
Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
By the way, she's not in her lane till she
hits her. Then she starts getting her lane because she's
toting the back of her head. Yeah. But or could
this be boyfriend trouble. I tell you one thing, when
when I get in the heat, I'm going against that
blankety blank, and if I get my opportunity, I'm gonna
hit her with a baton. As soon as she went by,
and she said, here's my opportunity. What if it's some
kind of cat fight away from the track, Well, I
(01:13:59):
tell you that we hope into that because she is
intentionally doing it. So she's mad about something. It may
be that.
Speaker 4 (01:14:05):
Okay, watch she's getting passed by. She's she's getting passed.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
She feels like I think she feels like that runner's
elbow is in her lane. Well, that her upper body
is coming over on her.
Speaker 4 (01:14:17):
It's not an assigned lane race.
Speaker 5 (01:14:20):
Right, you know, I think she's mad.
Speaker 2 (01:14:21):
Everybody's see the push through right there to watch their arms.
Of course, it could just be a cat. There's no
excuse for it. You don't hit somebod in the back
of the head, back of the head with the baton,
no matter what the reason is. During the race, I'm
not or even after she just trying to win roy Well,
that's true. But right here you see there how their
shoulders are kind of getting close to each other.
Speaker 4 (01:14:40):
Yeah, I read that the girl that got hit that
she was getting rubbed and nudged by the person that
hit her earlier in the race, and then when she
made the move to pass her, she just hit her
in the head with a baton.
Speaker 2 (01:14:52):
Yeah, you're right, Adler. I'm sitting here looking.
Speaker 5 (01:14:55):
So it was the four by two hundred, and it says,
uh so on the back curve, I got cut off,
and this is I think the girl that got hit.
I tried to pass her the first time, so I
let her go ahead. I knew when I got fully
on the curve that I could just go and push
on past it, you know. And so we were coming
up in the middle of the curve when we bumped
(01:15:17):
arms a little uh, and I got a little more
on the outside of the curve to go around her.
And then when I finally got past her, then she
hit me in the back of the head with the batona.
Speaker 2 (01:15:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:15:30):
I don't think you can do that.
Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
I don't think the rules y'all tell me, is this
a first for you?
Speaker 5 (01:15:35):
I've never seen anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:15:37):
You would think it happened a lot because it is
the only race that you can think of that features
we get to run with a weapon, but you've never
seen anybody use it. No good gracious, I notice she
hit on ahead of the girl crashed. I know, yeah,
that was It took out the race.
Speaker 5 (01:15:53):
And when this article was written, there was hasn't been
an apology at all of any kind from anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:16:00):
It's just so you can just do this and get
away with it.
Speaker 5 (01:16:03):
You think it was one of them, this muscle reactions.
Speaker 2 (01:16:06):
I think it's one of those things where she hit
her in the back of the baton and she was like,
I can't believe, I just need I can't believe.
Speaker 5 (01:16:13):
In front was.
Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
Hit.
Speaker 5 (01:16:16):
Everybody saw that.
Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
She was hit so hard that she has concussion.
Speaker 5 (01:16:22):
Tops got a concussion now, and they're swelling around the
area where she was struck with a possible skull fraction.
Now cut, guys, wait a minute, that's what the article says,
Robbin's race. I'm not holding.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
A Jene Hagman here.
Speaker 5 (01:16:37):
I'm just reading it.
Speaker 2 (01:16:38):
Are you just are you gonna cover this story now
and leave the head pull? Are you moving on to
investigate this.
Speaker 4 (01:16:46):
Report?
Speaker 2 (01:16:47):
I'm kidding, good night, and this is just high school too.
The can the baton skull fracture concussion that seems a
little is that that thing where somebody does it's inappropriate
and you wanted to make be worse. It's one thing
to lose your coup. It is another thing to lose
your coup and hurt somebody really bad. That does make
it worse. Off the track, yeah, I think that's enough.
(01:17:13):
I mean, you don't have to play it up. She
did come round house. Now once again, this is another
reason why biological males cannot compete well biological females. What
if a man hits somebody with you know, they imagine that. Now,
the lady that got that, that did the hitting. She
was disqualified. Well, I guess so if she wouldn't, I
don't know what you got to do to get.
Speaker 5 (01:17:36):
Panting some.
Speaker 2 (01:17:40):
So anyway, I hope nobody's hurt. I mean here, but
I just it didn't look.
Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
Like it was that behaves bad behavior. Fiberglass.
Speaker 4 (01:17:51):
No, they're they're like a metal tube. You don't know,
I'm aluminum.
Speaker 2 (01:17:57):
Well, I just don't. I mean, she hit her pretty hard.
Speaker 5 (01:18:00):
Now listen, No, no, she drew back, she drew back
pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:18:05):
Follow her.
Speaker 5 (01:18:06):
I'm not gonna win.
Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
Either. I bet you this. Everybody can get mad all
they want to if this girl ever gets to race again.
Want no body pastor No, you better pass on inside.
You better get on that non baton batonons side, take
a really wide turn, leave the laying the empty of
the tweety off and but you can't just trying to.
Speaker 5 (01:18:31):
All right, time of the hour.
Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
A lot more to coverage today, don't you leave? The
Rick Burgess Show continues right after this.
Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 9 (01:19:00):
Now, I we say, boss, we gotta find.
Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
Us the voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The
Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (01:19:17):
And here we go. Thank you for being with us.
As we churn out another day on another week having
a blast with you, we'll get an opportunity for you
to reach us by phones this hour eight eight eight,
the number six big box. The game's all here, speedy,
(01:19:39):
Greg and Adler as we move forward. Okay, so a
couple of things to hit that we haven't heard from
him in a long time, even we were winding down
the Rick and Bubba Show. By the way, a brand
new episode of Rick and Bubba's Greatest Hits in Radio
(01:20:00):
Old came out over the weekend as well. If you
didn't see that episode eight going back over some of
those great memories. So we remember Jenkins. Oh yeah, Jenkins
was ahead of his time.
Speaker 5 (01:20:12):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Jenkins was all in on you know, CBD and long
before it became he believed that hemp was the answer
to the world's problems. Midwhiffery midwiffery where he fought for
the rights to have a midwife in your home for
an in home birth and his home state and did win,
by the way, got it done.
Speaker 4 (01:20:35):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:20:35):
And then there was his obsession with drinking milk from
a cow, raw milk, raw milk. He was a raw
milk person, you.
Speaker 4 (01:20:45):
Know, gets straight from the tea.
Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
Oh yeah, well back back before, back before, we'll call
the incident that Bones just had to deal with. Bone
is also a big proponent when you had a dairy
cow of you know how how wonderful. And I guess
this is milk. This hasn't been pasteurized, is that correct?
A little scared of that, that's his man yet Well, yeah,
(01:21:08):
it's just a little something. The fact that I'm now
taking it in just as the calf does.
Speaker 5 (01:21:14):
Uh, just a little, but reason just a little.
Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
Well, it's we're drinking the same milk the calf does.
If we don't do anything to it.
Speaker 4 (01:21:23):
Well, yeah, just not, you know, we're not.
Speaker 2 (01:21:25):
No, I'm just saying the delivery system I was out
there they are somewhere, does it do? And if you now,
I've seen people take a teat and they're very accurate
and say open your mouth up, let me fire some
I've seen that. Yeah, little sides squirk yep. So anyway
we're about to hear from this is probably maybe Jenkins
(01:21:46):
in his community, probably one.
Speaker 5 (01:21:47):
Of their heroes.
Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
This got yeah, because they're going to say this farmer
is going to give one of the best explanations that
we will never hear ever here because of what is
this some sort of we're trying to because he's the
dairy industry doesn't want doesn't want you to hear that.
Is this that kind of thing?
Speaker 5 (01:22:05):
Yeah? I think so.
Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
I think the dairy situation's fine. I don't really see
as many Americans as we have. If all of us
today decided we're out on buying milk off the shelf,
that's a big demand coming at the coming at at
the Bones and his dairy cow and Jenkins and his
that's that's a lot of us coming looking for milk,
a lot of milk to replace. But anyway, I do
(01:22:27):
want to hear this. I am interested in this. So
we we Do you need any other setup than that?
Speaker 4 (01:22:31):
No, let's see what Jenkins has to say.
Speaker 5 (01:22:33):
Okay, here we go.
Speaker 4 (01:22:34):
Why don't you pasteurize your milk because that is the
newer thing to do to keep the shelf life.
Speaker 13 (01:22:38):
Yeah, yep, yeah, pastorization keeps the shelf lifelong. One of
the reasons that we don't, and the main one is
is like the milk, as long as it's produced in
a clean environment and the cows are eating grass, the
phr their bloodstream is completely different. And the quality of
the milk is different, and that milk is actually biologically
active and it has the enzymes in it that allow
your body to digest it, and so you get way
(01:22:59):
more out of it. However, from the confinement dairy standpoint
of things, those animals don't get any grass. They're eating
grain and all kinds of other mixes. It changes the
pH and the cow and it actually dramatically increases the
bacterial levels in the milk and then get some really
nasty stuff in there. And so their solution was, as well,
if we boil it, we kill everything and then then
it's fine. Well, there's some real downside to that, like
(01:23:20):
it's inert, it's dead, your body doesn't have a way
to digest it, and so you're killing all the good
things in it. They have to because if you just
drink that role then it would be pathologically dangerous. But
on our animals eating grass, their bodies pH is different.
They don't have those bacterial strains. In fact, what they
have is cultured bacteria. It's good like what you'd have
in yogurt and things. So it's actually great for you.
(01:23:43):
And so that's the reason that we don't though interestingly,
enough with milk going bad or preserving shelf life. Our
milk has a much longer shelf life than pasteurized milk
because our milk does not actually sour conventional milk when
you pop the lid and you hit it and they're.
Speaker 4 (01:23:59):
Like, oh, you know exactly when it's bad.
Speaker 13 (01:24:01):
It is bad pasteurized milk.
Speaker 4 (01:24:03):
And the reason is there, you go, so suck on
that teath, Greg, I let your mouth full of that.
Speaker 2 (01:24:10):
So what he's saying is, which is important, if you
took if you took grain fed cows and didn't pasteurize it,
you'd have a problem. But if you have cows grazing
in the natural world, uh, the actual the culture is
the kind of stuff you look for and yogurts and
things like that. And so what he says we're doing
is this kind of like the problem we had with
(01:24:30):
overuse of antibiotics. He says, if you just boil everything out,
you also take the good things out.
Speaker 5 (01:24:36):
Is that what he's saying.
Speaker 4 (01:24:37):
That's what he's saying.
Speaker 5 (01:24:38):
Right, who died and let this guy boss?
Speaker 4 (01:24:41):
That's a good question, Greg, Does this guy know what
he's talking about? I don't know, But now I'm thinking
about getting chickens and cows.
Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
Take that old farmer adler thinking about it, because you
know how to they'll produce another expert. He goes, This
guy is completely wrong. I mean you, you don't never
know nothing. You don't never know nothing. Though you can't
let me jot that down shirt spring. You don't never
know nothing. Every time you think you've got some good information,
here comes somebody else.
Speaker 5 (01:25:09):
I ain't right. Well, who's right?
Speaker 2 (01:25:11):
Huh? Well, louis past year. He thought he was right too.
So after after it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:23):
Was interesting, I thought i'd get y'all's take on what is.
Speaker 2 (01:25:26):
You're You're trying to be one of these weird farmers.
Speaker 5 (01:25:28):
Is that what you're doing?
Speaker 4 (01:25:29):
I'm thinking about getting chickens and now outing cows.
Speaker 5 (01:25:32):
Can I tell you this after?
Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
If you do chickens and cows, you can kiss Brazilian
jiu jitsu goodbye. Yes you can, because you won't need
it because you'd be working like a dog. It's a
smaller version. They're not as hard to handle. You got
milk with them too.
Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
I do want a pigmy goat, by the way, I
want to.
Speaker 5 (01:25:48):
I don't want you.
Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
They're silkey and they'd like try to ram me, and
I'd be like, that doesn't hurt my shooer may be
hitting you in the hip, but what a little buddy
of mine.
Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
What if it turns on you the way Franklin has.
Speaker 4 (01:25:59):
Yeah, I didn't hear it initially, speedy, but he'd be
hitting you in the head.
Speaker 2 (01:26:03):
But I heard that now later he'd be like.
Speaker 5 (01:26:12):
A little I take this guy. That's good.
Speaker 4 (01:26:16):
Ezra is getting better about being afraid of the dogs,
but he's still a little bit afraid to still reclass
because he got knocked over one time and now he's afraid.
Speaker 5 (01:26:22):
I don't forget.
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
Imagine frank were interacting with goats.
Speaker 4 (01:26:26):
Oh my goodness, they I'd have to fence those guys in.
Speaker 5 (01:26:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:26:30):
What is it about little kids at his age? They
don't forget any trauma that ever happens to him, but
they can't remember how to keep pottying right.
Speaker 4 (01:26:37):
Yeah, life lessons are hard choose. I do think that
just along the whole milk line there goes almond milk.
It's not it's not milk, no, and we need to
call it like, you know, like grape juice is grape juice,
So it's like almond juice or like nut juice something.
Speaker 5 (01:26:54):
I don't call it that good, do not do not
call it.
Speaker 4 (01:26:58):
It's not milk. I'm going to get.
Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
I'm open for some more discussion, but I just crossed
through one.
Speaker 4 (01:27:09):
Okay, well I'm not here, y' all can come straight
to my place. Give the tea to shot.
Speaker 2 (01:27:14):
If I was, If I was in the conference room,
we had a dry, raceable board, and your last suggestion
came up. I just said, let me draw a line
through that one.
Speaker 5 (01:27:21):
Get rid of that.
Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
That one's off the table, all right. But you know,
just like Greg said one time, we were all supposed
to be consuming you know, seed oils and delicious protein
from healthy nut mixes and things like that. And now,
slowly but surely, here you go. Now all that's getting
den right right.
Speaker 4 (01:27:40):
It was like Margarine, get off Margorine, get back on
full fat butter.
Speaker 7 (01:27:44):
All that.
Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
So, now that we've done the segment, Like what milk
am I supposed to drink?
Speaker 4 (01:27:49):
I think grass fed.
Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
Goat on in? What am I supposed to do?
Speaker 4 (01:27:58):
Nothing?
Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
How much mol do you even drink? Not a time?
Speaker 5 (01:28:01):
But I get two percent?
Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
I think who I'm a whole milk guy. I like home,
I like butter. I like home illt like skin milk.
No home milk is waring sat Oh whole milk'll be back.
Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. The man who informed
the Dipping DUTs that they were not, in fact the
ice cream of the future.
Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
Rick Birches shut that down, all right. So thanks for
being with us today as we work our way through
another day on another week, a brand new show. Thanks
for being with us. Are you listening on Raycon earbuds
right now? Aren't they great? I love getting all these emails.
Ever by talking about Raycon's how might they love them
(01:28:56):
durable too? Some of you have tried to destroy the
Raycons just couldn't, not on purpose, but because you washed
them in the washing machine. Now they don't guarantee that
kind of stuff. I'm just saying, left them out in
the yard. Lost one one of the things that you
can depend on. If you lose them, it's not because
they weren't secure in your ear. Because of the customized
jail tips, they stay right there while you're listening. No
(01:29:19):
matter what you're doing. Maybe you're going out getting eggs
from the chicken, maybe you're milking the cow. Maybe you're
trying to do a little better, whatever the case may be,
they will stay with you. And of course now multipoint
connectivity can actually have two devices going at once a
thirty two hour battery life. Also the quick charge function,
(01:29:40):
Now I love this one, the quick charge function. We
haven't talked about this a lot and ten minutes of charging,
ninety minutes of battery okay, so it's really good. All
starting at half the price of the other premium audio brands.
There you go, So all of this, you're not compromising quality.
In some cases, you're getting better quality for about half
(01:30:03):
the price. And then we're giving you an additional twenty
percent off by Raycon dot com, slash big Vox or
just go to Rick Burgess show dot com use our
sponsors button. So had an honor this this past weekend.
I told you the story last week. A lot of
(01:30:26):
you have heard me mention friend Blake Prime. Blake Prime
was came into my life many many years ago, has
become a great friend and works with us on team
Man Church has his business Prime for Life, where he
helps people all over with their nutrition and their you know,
(01:30:48):
and how they can do a little bit better. And
very has a lot of expertise here was very helpful
getting me started. You know, he along with you know
Sean who I talk about all the time, who is
currently doing the training with me. But these two men
have played a huge role in my life from a
health standpoint and taking me to places that are really honestly,
(01:31:12):
I didn't think I was capable of even remotely doing.
But anyway, so in his process of working with people,
he met a man named DeMarcus and then went on
to meet Demarcus's wife, Alicia. Both of them had ties
to where we all live, but they now live somewhere
else in Tampa, Florida. But anyway, through the journey of
(01:31:34):
Blake working with him with his weight and his struggles,
there's always a spiritual element to this, and DeMarcus made
a decision to repent and follow Jesus, realizing that, you know,
if you just do the physical part you don't do
the spiritual part, then I guess that can work a
little bit on vanity, and there's some common sense things
about that, But if the spiritual part's not there, you know,
(01:31:56):
you're kind of doing all this for the ultimate end,
not really meaning a whole lot. So so that element
has to be part of it too, and so he
asked me because he and his wife both wanted to
be baptized and they want to do it, and where
they're both from because that's where most their family and
friends are, so they could be there for the baptism.
Speaker 5 (01:32:15):
And then, as you know, I was honored to be
asked to do it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:20):
And you also know that DeMarcus is a big fella,
okay and big man, and I was real nervous about it.
I was nervous about it all week and long. I
couldn't get it out of my mind. I was because
I don't want something so special for me to mess
it up. And of course I can mess it up
no matter what your size is, just by doing something
(01:32:41):
goofy or the time I didn't put the waiters on right,
you know, things like that. I bring enough goofy to
the table anyway. But I really started thinking about and everybody,
of course started sending me all these baptisms were this
was a struggle for people. And you know is that
even though he's getting in better health, he's still still
a big man, okay. And and you know, one of
(01:33:03):
the things that was kind of cool, he's actually a
hip hop artist, and so it's speedy, but now because
of his redemption, he's actually doing this with lyrics and stuff,
you know, to actually bring glory to God. And you know,
that was one of the things that we talked about,
and we talk about this a lot in men's ministry,
I think, and it might even be problem for men
(01:33:23):
or women, is that sometimes when we think about this transformation,
we're thinking, and I know that I was reluctant to it,
thinking well, what are the things that is this going
to cost me? You know, there's things that that you know,
I feel like I'm gifted to do, well, I not
get to do them anymore. And I think that's a
big misnomer. A lot of times, that's not it God,
(01:33:45):
when when what he's not he's not trying to change
the way he made us with the gifts and the
talents that we have. He's trying to our will transform
us from the way Sin made us. So the Apostle
Paul is the most glaring example of that. The Apostle Paul,
the reason why he was so good at advancing the
(01:34:06):
church is that he was really good at persecuting the church.
So what he just needed was the transformation that gift
set that Paul had came from God. He was just
using it the wrong way. So when he was redeemed
and he was transformed by Jesus, that the same skill
set that persecuted the church was now being used to
advance the church. So you see an example here. So
(01:34:29):
a lot of times, no, the gifts we have, if
we're not redeemed, we're just not using them. Right. God
gave us those gifts, so he's not trying to change
the way he made us. He's gonna change the way
sin makes us. So you saw that, and you see
that already happening in this young man's life. And he
and his wife are expecting their first child. They've been
(01:34:49):
married since twenty twenty. It's a beautiful story. She's a
you know, an interior design assistant and also a carpenter
and has their own stuff she does. So anyway, I
was worried about. I didn't want to mess this up.
Can I get de Marcus once once he once he's
buried with Christ. Can can I have the symbolic raising
(01:35:11):
again to the newness of the lives? Can I get
him up out of the water and a word about it?
All weekend and every time Sherry would see me like that.
She goes, you're thinking about it again, aren't you. I
was like, man, I don't want I mean, can I
get him up out of the water. And so so
I was like I wanted to, you know, I was
looking forward to the chance to meet him prior because
(01:35:32):
I didn't want our first.
Speaker 5 (01:35:33):
Meeting to be here.
Speaker 2 (01:35:35):
I am, and you're in the water, and here we go, okay,
and and and it makes our church very nervous anytime
somebody gives me the honor of doing this. The church
is always like with us, all of us, you work,
all of us anything in our churches, They're like, they're
kind of glad we're here, but what we do for
a living makes them kind of nervous. And they also
(01:35:56):
know that we have so much goofiness that we can
take any moment went and something goofy happened. You know,
I told you, I gave you a list of all
the goofy things I've done and very serious, serious situation.
And this is a very serious situation. And you know,
there was a horrible time that I did a funeral
with my flyings. It terrible, Yeah, horrible, that's horrible. That's
that is bad, bad, bad. There's the time that I
(01:36:19):
did an entire message on the Joshua, but unfortunately called
him Joseph. The entire message there, not just one. Not
just one, never changed it. I got in the car
and you know, anytime that you have to ask that,
anytime you have to ask your wife, anytime you have
to ask your wife how it wins, They're not giving
you anything. If you have to ask, you just shouldn't ask.
(01:36:42):
And so I said, well, yes, So I said, what
do you think about the message? And sure, he said,
Well the message was about Joseph, wasn't it? No about Joshua,
wasn't And I said yes. She sai, well that's unfortunate
because you called him Joseph the entire message.
Speaker 5 (01:36:54):
Yeah. And and I said what what? I said, what?
Speaker 4 (01:36:59):
What?
Speaker 5 (01:37:00):
What a heads up? She said, I was trying to
get your teacher and you never would Yeah. And so yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:37:06):
So if there's anybody that could take something like this
and end up in the pool with this man, it's me.
Speaker 5 (01:37:13):
So we come back.
Speaker 2 (01:37:15):
I'll tell you how I went, and I'll tell you
about a conversation I have with this incredible young man
that I think I's already doing great.
Speaker 5 (01:37:23):
Things with so, and what an honor it was.
Speaker 2 (01:37:26):
But all I could think about was birds, don't mess
this up.
Speaker 5 (01:37:30):
Don't mess this up with this family.
Speaker 1 (01:37:32):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, doing what he was
born to do, the Rick Burgis Show.
Speaker 5 (01:37:47):
Loving it.
Speaker 2 (01:37:48):
I always wanted to do it. It was a dream
as a kid, and can't believe I get to do it.
I did. Thank you for being with us and Speedy,
Greg and Adler. Getting to hang out with you guys,
all of you across America. So encouraging, some of you
not so encouraging, but you're not taking away the joy
of those who do so. Here. I get to church
(01:38:10):
on Sunday, it's you know, daylight Savings time, there's all
that we get up. It's raining, it's storming, And so
I also discover going into the week that we're also
going to do the Lord's Supper at the end of
the service. And you know how nervous I am, But
I'm kind of getting that down. Had some had some
struggle a little bit early on with it. But we're
(01:38:32):
supposed to wear a jacket and a shirt and whatever
when we're doing the Lord's Supper. Well, I've got to
baptize the Marcus I can't. I can't be in long
sleeves because you know, the way our is it baptismal
Is that what it's called the pool? Yep, we stand
on the side of it. So if you've got on
(01:38:53):
long sleeves, you got to roll them up and whatever.
And then I keep thinking there's a chance I could
go into the actual pool, you know, I think there's
I want to be respectful to do this, and if
I have to get wet, I'm just gonna get wet.
So I just put on a short sleeve shirt and
then put on a little you know, a jacket or
something because it was a little cooler for short sleeves. Well,
the first thing I walk in, well, I'm already reprimanded
(01:39:14):
by the by the head diggon. What hey, burgess, you
know we're doing Lord's Upper Yes, sir, I know, but
I said, you know, I'm baptizing. He goes, oh, you baptizing,
big man. I said yeah, I said I can't. I
can't do long sleeves. And you know what, he goes, Oh, no,
you're right, it's cool.
Speaker 5 (01:39:31):
You're good. You're good.
Speaker 2 (01:39:32):
He goes, but we'd like to see in the jacket,
I said, do you want to see me in a
wet jacket and he said, we do not. Yeah, do
you want to see me in a wet button down?
We do not. I got one on the hangar.
Speaker 5 (01:39:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
You know.
Speaker 5 (01:39:43):
So there's a lot on me, a lot of pressure,
a lot of this.
Speaker 2 (01:39:46):
So I as soon as I get there, you know,
I'm supposed to teach our Sunday shoo class, which I did,
but all I wanted to do in speed of you
know this. We're all the same way. Can I please
meet DeMarcus? Got to get to him. I have got
to get to the Marcus. I have to look him
in the eye and we got to talk, okay, And
then of course I get that opportunity.
Speaker 5 (01:40:07):
Walk back there. He and his sweet wife are back there.
They're ready to go.
Speaker 2 (01:40:10):
I said to Marcus, buddy, come on now, I need you,
And he said, sir, And I said, look, did they
show you the bars that has the two bars and
he's gonna sit on top of like a stool in there.
I mean it's made into the pool. It's a place
to sit. You know, you don't get all the way down.
And I said, look, when you sit down, you take
those feet and you put it under that bar for
(01:40:32):
it's crucial. And he said, oh yeah, I've already been
out there and looked at it. I said, now I
might ask you a question. I said, I've been on
the journey. I said, I'm on the journey with you.
If anybody understands your your plight.
Speaker 5 (01:40:43):
You're looking at him. Okay, he goes okay. I said,
can you do a sit up? And he said yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:40:51):
I said, because when I start bringing you back up,
you got to come up with me, please, I mean you,
you got to come up with me. And uh so,
so he said, very confident. He also looked more athletic
when I saw that he was athletic. You know, like
a lot of us, who are you know, athletes? We
after we leave playing a little ball, we put a
little weight on. Hey, we've all been there, but we
(01:41:11):
still athletes. And I picked up pretty quick, I thought, DeMarcus,
I said, I'm not dealing with some You know, there's
people who strung there you go, there's people that struggle
with their weight that look sedentary and they look unhealthy
and they look blobbish. And then there's people just big
men that are working on the weight. And the Marcus
would be the latter. So you know, he was going
(01:41:31):
to give me everything you could, okay, and he probably
sounded confident when you talk. He was very confident. He
was very very confident. And by the way, yes, do
I do that?
Speaker 5 (01:41:41):
Joe?
Speaker 2 (01:41:42):
Did you? Did you say that I did do that?
Speaker 5 (01:41:44):
Well? Look, a lot of folks, a lot of listeners
and viewers here are saying they streamed the service because
they y'all offer that, and so they saw it. It's
called the.
Speaker 2 (01:41:52):
Baptistry, that's right, right, not baptismal No, good job. We
won't have been baptists since we were since we were born,
all right. So anyway, and now I remember that, you know,
and there were certain things we couldn't say. Well, the
baptistry and also the best of you whatever that was.
Speaker 5 (01:42:08):
So, but people are saying it was beautiful, it was
a great uh uh. It was service and everything. But
then there's some saying that you had the line of
the whole. Okay, all right, raise your hand, and that's
just those that's strange. Raise your hand.
Speaker 2 (01:42:23):
If you know people and we love them and they're
part of our church, there are brothers and they're our sisters.
How many of you know someone who when they're asked
to pray, it's a little lengthy. Oh oh oh yes, yeah, okay. Well, Kirkwood,
our worship leader and part of Man Church, being part
of Man Church, speaker if if he prays, don't lock
(01:42:46):
your knees, okay, because you're gonna pass out, okay, And.
Speaker 5 (01:42:51):
He appreciates this.
Speaker 2 (01:42:53):
I've watched our pastor walk up on that platform thinking
he's gonna preach quickly. It ain't gonna be quick. Don't
lock your knees, pastor. We don't want to lose your okay.
And so Kirkwood decided to take a shot at me.
So he opened himself up for it.
Speaker 5 (01:43:08):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:43:09):
He said, Hey, we've got Lord's Supper, We've got you know,
the sermon. We've we've got two people getting baptized. And
then he said it, don't do a sermon before you
baptize them. Oh okay, is that my wrap?
Speaker 5 (01:43:26):
That's is that a reputation out there?
Speaker 2 (01:43:27):
Birde do a sermon? Was this backstage kind of this
is meant he and I talking on the phone. Oh,
on the phone, and uh, we're we're getting the order
of events. Of course, all that time we talk I
still didn't remember what song. I was up after but anyway,
so h so this is nervous. I was so nervous.
And and uh and I said, I tell you one thing.
I won't do a sermon if you agree something for me.
He goes, okay, I said, to keep us on time,
(01:43:49):
don't pray. Let somebody else pray. I said, I guess
we're taking your prayer out too. And it was a
little uncomfortable little pause. He knew I had him, He
knew he walked right into that one. And uh, but
that's okay, it's all right. Some people say, don't quench
the spirit will tell you.
Speaker 5 (01:44:06):
Some people try. Okay, so uh the uh it's so
then you did you repeat it again?
Speaker 2 (01:44:13):
So I did. I said, look, before we get started,
I know I have a bit of a reputation. Apparently
I won't be doing a sermon. I said, because we
got to stay on time. We got a lot, we've
got to get into the service and to be sure
we stay on time. Kirkwood's also agreed not to pray.
And the place went crazy. I killed with that line.
Speaker 5 (01:44:29):
You did a joke.
Speaker 2 (01:44:30):
What was Kirkwood's face? He can take it, he you know,
kirk oh Kirkwood. If you want to get into a
bat one liner back and forth, he's willing to participate.
He's not he's not a pushover. Pretty funny guy too,
and he'll slice right back.
Speaker 5 (01:44:44):
But but not there. We didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
So then with the Marcus sitting in the water while
you said that, he is so uh so, now I'm
going to say this, we we we we cut up
here a lot, but I'm going to go now super serious.
It was so moving and sometimes we should never forget
how wonderful redemption is. And and when I started doing
(01:45:11):
the brief little testimony for DeMarcus and the life changing
transformation is life and I look down and this big
man is in that pool and tears are running down
in front of his face, and I mean, it was, man,
it was so moving to realize, I mean, this guy's
life and his wife's life and their little unborn baby's life.
(01:45:34):
Today is the day they declared to the world that
they're being They're going to be transformed by Jesus. They've
been justified, and they're now to the proclaiming to the
world what Christ has done for them.
Speaker 5 (01:45:47):
And it was beautiful.
Speaker 2 (01:45:49):
So if you get a chance and watch him it
will show it real quick. He and the whole thing's
not on there just right when I'm about to baptize him.
Speaker 4 (01:45:55):
Got I've got it.
Speaker 5 (01:45:56):
Yeah, here it is. I've got the whole thing.
Speaker 2 (01:45:58):
You've got the whole thing?
Speaker 4 (01:46:00):
Yeah, yeah, all right, I got Kirkwood handed off to
you if you want it?
Speaker 5 (01:46:04):
Yes, do you have the line?
Speaker 2 (01:46:05):
Do you have the shot? This here we go on
to Baptistreet where one of our deacons, brother Rick Burgess,
will be performing.
Speaker 5 (01:46:14):
Today's thank you Kirkwood.
Speaker 2 (01:46:16):
Kirk Wood asked me not to do a sermon today
because we do have a lot to do today, and
I've asked him not to pray.
Speaker 7 (01:46:21):
So we.
Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
We have a lot to do today and having an
incredible opportunity to meet two wonderful people that have come
into our lives here at Valleydale. They actually do not
live here, They actually live in Tampa now, uh, but
they uh have background born and raised here in Birmingham.
So uh if ya want to come on out, we'll start,
and I want you to welcome uh de Marcus Key
(01:46:45):
Williams uh here he comes and his wife Alicia's here,
So Marcus, come on down, just take a seat.
Speaker 5 (01:46:51):
And uh I'm there.
Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
You go one you think you are there right there, just.
Speaker 5 (01:46:56):
Put your feet under there.
Speaker 2 (01:46:58):
And so mark Us it's actually a hip hop artist
in men's ministry. And Marcus and I just talk.
Speaker 5 (01:47:04):
We talk all the time.
Speaker 2 (01:47:05):
You know, God's not trying to change the way that
made us, and a lot of times men misunderstand that
he's trying to change the way sin makes us.
Speaker 3 (01:47:13):
So now.
Speaker 2 (01:47:15):
DeMarcus is going to be doing the gifts that God
has given him, but he's doing it now to praise
the Lord because of his redemption. Blake Prime, y'all want
to come up and be here, guys. So Blake Prime,
you know, has Prime for Life. That's his ministry where
he helps people with nutrition and fitness, and DeMarcus became
one of his clients. And of course, as Blake points out,
(01:47:36):
you know, if all we have is nutrition and fitness,
but we don't have redemption, that it's just vanity. So
there's a spiritual element of transformation there, not just a
physical one. And through that process, the Marcus came to
the conclusion that though he was baptized as a little child,
he certainly was not redeemed. There was just no evidence
in fruit of that in his life. So he has
(01:47:57):
fully committed his life to Christ. Transformation has begun, as
you see the emotion that's over him right now. So
you know, Jesus said, once you're redeemed, DeMarcus, he said,
we need to follow with what we're doing now. And
that's that's baptism, to tell the world what Jesus has
already done. And so your public profession of your faith
(01:48:17):
does not redeem you. It is you acknowledging that you
have been redeemed. So with that being said, I'm going
to ask you this question, DeMarcus, is Jesus Christ the
lord of your life?
Speaker 4 (01:48:28):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (01:48:29):
Yes, he is.
Speaker 2 (01:48:30):
Have you repented of your sin and placed your faith
totally in Jesus based on your public profession of faith
in Christ to law and confessing Jesus Christ is your
Lord and savior. I now baptize you, my brother, in
the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
buried with Christ in baptism, raised to walk.
Speaker 9 (01:48:50):
So what.
Speaker 2 (01:49:02):
You see him like an athlete, come up out of there,
no problem? Yeah, great, Thank you DeMarcus for the honor
of that.
Speaker 4 (01:49:08):
I got job, I got onions in my breakfast here.
Speaker 5 (01:49:10):
That's why I've got I've got I got Yeah, did
you see him said? There were those tears rolled down
the space was great, we'll be back. What an honor.
Speaker 2 (01:49:22):
Maybe a slight sermon, but it wasn't very long. Fourteen
minutes to the time.
Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 5 (01:49:49):
We're back.
Speaker 2 (01:49:49):
Thanks for being with us. What up? So anyway, great
should be part of that. What a beautiful, beautiful moment
really was and wonderful people keep praying for him. You
know that's earth. They just their journey just started. You know,
justification is the beginning, not the end, and now the
sanctification process begins. Texture that's saying I want that to
(01:50:11):
be me. Reach out to me, man, I'll help you anyway.
I can just email me and we'll talk about that
if you want to.
Speaker 5 (01:50:21):
All right, So some other things that.
Speaker 2 (01:50:22):
Are going on involving our world. Canada has said goodbye
to Justin Trudeau. The Trudeau is out. Maybe can we
not learn a lesson? I know he's been kind of
been a little whiny lately, but I can Trudeau get
(01:50:42):
the message and can future Canadian politicians get the message
that socialism sounds good, it just doesn't work. And eventually
the people get so put out with it they go,
you're out. So here here he is resigning, and Canada's
Liberal Party has now a select did Mark Carney?
Speaker 5 (01:51:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:51:01):
Oh yeah, he's saying, we ain't backing down to nobody.
Speaker 4 (01:51:04):
Okay, here we go, And this is how it happened
on TV as Canada's Liberal Party names their new leader.
Speaker 14 (01:51:11):
Understood in first place, you know the next Prime Minister
of Canada, I mean Mark Harney.
Speaker 5 (01:51:17):
When one hundred and thirty one.
Speaker 14 (01:51:20):
Thousand, six hundred and seventy four votes resulting in twenty
nine thousand, four hundred and fifty seventy replicated points, presenting
eighty five percent of the votes.
Speaker 4 (01:51:35):
So he goes in overwhelmingly yes, And you're gonna hear
the announcer kind of cut in and explain what is
happening here.
Speaker 15 (01:51:43):
That Mark Karney is now the new Prime Minister of
Canada and the leader of course of the Liberal Party.
And he won by a pretty astonishing eighty five percent
of the vote.
Speaker 1 (01:51:58):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
So and he's saying he's going to keep doubling down
on socialism since is the Liberal Party.
Speaker 5 (01:52:06):
But none of that worked.
Speaker 2 (01:52:07):
He is he going to learn from the man? I
thought they had another guy that was supposed to take over.
Speaker 5 (01:52:11):
There was the opposite.
Speaker 4 (01:52:12):
I think that since Trudeau resigned ahead of the election,
they can. But yeah, that other guy, I forgot his name.
What's his name?
Speaker 2 (01:52:20):
Uh, he's so he's great and he's very conservative.
Speaker 4 (01:52:23):
Yeah, the conservative dude. We've played a couple of clips
from him.
Speaker 2 (01:52:26):
So I guess his Skuy will finish out what Trudeau
would have done, Greg, and then they'll have an election,
this guy against the guy you're.
Speaker 5 (01:52:33):
Since he stepped down.
Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
Yeah, okay, I said, I'm like you, I'm guessing.
Speaker 4 (01:52:37):
I'm not sure how Pierre.
Speaker 2 (01:52:40):
That's who I like.
Speaker 5 (01:52:41):
Yeah. He said that Canada is the greatest country in
the world and uh, and now our neighbors want.
Speaker 2 (01:52:47):
To take us.
Speaker 5 (01:52:47):
He said, no way. He said he's talking about you know,
Trump and talking about fifty first state and he was
having fine and all that kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
He says, we don't bow down to bully, all right,
speaking the Trump, So we keep finding out all the
government waste thanks to the.
Speaker 5 (01:53:10):
Doge.
Speaker 2 (01:53:11):
And here's Trump on Fox News talking about all the
waste that Elon and his team have found. By the way,
this is our tax dollars. Just remember that seems like
I'd be bipartisan if we don't lock our money being wasted.
Speaker 5 (01:53:24):
We go ahead.
Speaker 3 (01:53:24):
Look, the Democrats say that Elon Musk and Doge are
overstepping their bounds.
Speaker 2 (01:53:29):
You're right.
Speaker 9 (01:53:29):
What Elon Musk and Dotche has been able to uncover
is unbelievable. Half of us did not even realize and.
Speaker 16 (01:53:35):
Stop there, because look, stop there. What you just said,
what he's done is unbelievable. Now you could then add
some well, but what about the He's found hundreds of
billions of dollars worth of fake contracts and I read
them just a tiny portion of them the other night,
transgender surgery on mice, hundreds of I mean, the money
(01:53:58):
they're spending on all of this, the whole thing's a scam.
And you'll find ultimately that the money that they sent
comes back to a lot of the people that made
those deals. Okay, you're going to find that. What he's
also done is made people realize how many people should
be cut. Because normally you go in and zerah, cut
(01:54:19):
four percent if you work for us, he said, cut
fifty percent, sixty seventy.
Speaker 5 (01:54:24):
That's a big thing. Now he's done a great job.
Speaker 16 (01:54:26):
And he's paying a price for it, you know, I
mean he hadn did this, he's paying a price for it.
Speaker 1 (01:54:32):
I guess I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:54:33):
He's he actually.
Speaker 16 (01:54:35):
Is a real patriot. This is something that's really not
good for him, and yet he's doing it. But he's
opened a lot of eyes.
Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
It continues to be absurd what has been done, and
the people don't like yet. Here's Stacy Abrams all but
admitting the two billion dollars Joe Biden's EPA gave her
wasn't used for what we all thought. We we we're
giving it forward to help out. So here she was
talking about it.
Speaker 10 (01:55:03):
One of the ironies of the attack on you, and
I'm gonna play what he did was that my understanding
is the program at the source of this whole thing
is a program to lower costs for people.
Speaker 5 (01:55:13):
Do I have that top line correct?
Speaker 2 (01:55:16):
You have it absolutely right? Okay, So I'm gonna.
Speaker 10 (01:55:18):
I'm going to play what he had to say, and
then I'm going to ask you to explain what the
program is that was such an obvious, ludicrous laugh line
for the Republicans there take a list is MSNBC.
Speaker 7 (01:55:32):
Of course, one point nine billion dollars to recently created
Decarbonization of Homes Committee headed up and.
Speaker 16 (01:55:42):
We know she's involved. Just at the last moment the
money was passed over by a woman named Stacy Abram say,
have you ever.
Speaker 5 (01:55:50):
Heard of have you ever heard of?
Speaker 1 (01:55:52):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (01:55:53):
So what is this organization?
Speaker 2 (01:55:55):
What is your relation to it?
Speaker 1 (01:55:56):
And what does it do?
Speaker 17 (01:55:59):
And twenty twenty three and twenty twenty four I led
a program called Vitalizing De Soto. We worked in a
tiny town in South Georgia to demonstrate that by replacing
energy inefficient appliances with efficient appliances, you can lower your cost.
And in fact we accomplished that for seventy five percent
(01:56:19):
of the community. They got appliances that are lowering their bills.
Right now, we have one woman who saw her electric
bill cut in half from one.
Speaker 4 (01:56:28):
Point eighty to ninety eight dollars. That's what we delivered.
Speaker 17 (01:56:31):
And based on that program, coalition of organizations, famous organizations
came together and said to the EPA, if we can
do this here, we can do this for millions more Americans.
Let us invest the money of America in lowering the
cost for Americans.
Speaker 4 (01:56:51):
They bought new appliances for people to buy votes.
Speaker 2 (01:56:54):
They just went around handing out appliances, which is not
what the money was sent for. And so yeah, hey,
we got a lot of money to show up the
door and say, Weld you need some new appliances. Let's
update your appliances.
Speaker 5 (01:57:05):
Who gave me this? I did?
Speaker 2 (01:57:08):
Uh, And that was not what the money was allocated for.
And of course she thinks that's okay, and she should
be a bolded for it.
Speaker 5 (01:57:16):
Tome of the album this is the.
Speaker 1 (01:57:18):
Rick Burgess Show. They are the uncles the parents warned
(01:57:41):
you about the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
Thanks for being with us, Speedy Greg Adler all here
from the text line somebody out of Georgia. Adding to
that last story, they said, guys, in case you don't know,
the Soda Georgia has a population of one hundred and
twenty people. For the lolo cost of one point nine billion,
(01:58:07):
we're able to lower the power bill for seventy five
percent of that population. Wow, what a game changer. One
point nine billion for seventy five percent of one hundred
and twenty people into Soto, Georgia. I'm sure that's where
it all went, and I'm sure all those got votes.
So some other things happening here within the ever growing
(01:58:29):
studio and cool things we're trying and all this. You know,
Adler did a masterful job with with Wormwood and some
of these other people of redesigning the studio and this
getting a new look and all that. And it's been
kind of an ongoing process. And we're adding and we're
still moving, and we're shucking and jibing. We're working on
(01:58:51):
a new conference room right now, and you know, it's
it's a process of kind of getting everything the way
you like it. And we noticed that it was your dad,
I think, da right, that didn't like that you were
using You didn't you had wood behind us here, but
the legs on the actual console were still what was
(01:59:11):
that metal?
Speaker 5 (01:59:12):
What was it?
Speaker 2 (01:59:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:59:13):
So I actually asked my dad because that gray pillar
that you're seeing here in the in the shot right
there in the front of the console, I wanted to
replace that with like a wood stump or like an
elephant's foot or something cool like that. Yeah, something cool
like that, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:59:29):
Yeah, Which I guess that explains why you want the
velvet Elvis poetrait in in the new conference room.
Speaker 4 (01:59:36):
Yeah. And so I actually talked to my dad, who
does he actually does a lot of woodworking.
Speaker 5 (01:59:41):
Yes he does, Yes he does.
Speaker 4 (01:59:43):
It's all about it makes bowls, holes and cups and
pictures and we'll stand you with him.
Speaker 5 (01:59:48):
But yes he does, Yes he is.
Speaker 2 (01:59:50):
Boy. I could not have dropped any more hints.
Speaker 4 (01:59:54):
And so I was like, let's let's put something cool there.
Let's put a log there. So uh, Casey with with
word more designs, did all the facing that you see,
and then my dad just came in with a cedar
log and yeah, yeah and uh and we replaced that
that pillar and then you guys might remember that y'all
(02:00:17):
made fun of me for keeping that pillar. Bring a
bell adlers a hoarder. He's he's so muscular. Well, we
can't make fun of that, so let's call him a hoarder.
Speaker 2 (02:00:31):
Okay, yeah, I think we looked up.
Speaker 5 (02:00:35):
Okay, you're right.
Speaker 4 (02:00:38):
So y'all made fun of me for having the pillar,
and I was like, this is a good pillar. You
never know what you when you're gonna need it. And
then also when we installed the cedar log little thing, uh,
we noticed a circle of sawdust and I thought that
was from us drilling, and we actually had to take
(02:00:58):
an inch or two off the the log to get
it to the right height for the console of the
desk that you guys are sitting at. And I vacuumed
up that sawdust. I remember that, you guys remember that.
I was like, you went to your cool van and
got it. Yeah, kind of like you vacuum part of
your home, but not the entire home. Got it, little
dustbuster going yeah, Well, I noticed that the sawdust came back.
Speaker 2 (02:01:23):
Oh. I thought it was because we pound on the counter.
Speaker 4 (02:01:26):
I thought it was maybe something like that too.
Speaker 5 (02:01:29):
I thought it was.
Speaker 4 (02:01:30):
But I took a closer look at it, y'all on Monday.
Oh boy, and it looked like a cheese grater. The
amount of hole if you get close and look at it,
it looked like a cheese grater. The amount of little
tiny holes it's in that thing. And what messed me
up also is that, uh we talked about the sawdust,
and Tom and I and I think Speedy you were
(02:01:51):
even standing there. We joked about it like, oh, I
hope there's not bugs in it, ha ha ha, And
Tom goes, yeah, it's cedar, so bugs generally don't go
for cedar.
Speaker 2 (02:01:59):
And I didn't.
Speaker 4 (02:02:01):
I didn't go. I didn't know that, but I acted
like I did. I was like, yeah, bugs don't go
for cedar. Never heard that in my life, but I
acted like, yeah, yeah. So I thought we were in
the clear. I thought we were good. And then I
saw the sawdust pile again all around it. I'm like,
oh my goodness. Saw the holes. I'm like, oh my goodness.
And then I looked at the entire wall of wood
that we have in this studio, and I was like,
(02:02:23):
oh my goodness, I got to get this out of
here pronto. So I actually swapped the I took that ceedar.
Speaker 2 (02:02:30):
Log out, Did your dad, did you find anything in it?
Speaker 7 (02:02:33):
All?
Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
Under the best of intentions? A bug infested cedar?
Speaker 1 (02:02:36):
Log?
Speaker 5 (02:02:37):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (02:02:38):
Did you?
Speaker 5 (02:02:38):
I mean you identified you see a minute.
Speaker 4 (02:02:40):
I never saw a bug, but the amount of sawdust
that kept showing up and the amount.
Speaker 2 (02:02:44):
Of the saw us coming out pulling it out of there, there's.
Speaker 4 (02:02:47):
Tons a hole and y'all that could have been bad.
But this is exactly what it looked.
Speaker 2 (02:02:53):
Like right here there you go, Oh, stuff boring into it?
Speaker 4 (02:02:59):
Yeah, no, those are They're tiny holes. They're like as
big as a pinhead.
Speaker 2 (02:03:04):
Does anybody know what creature eats cedar?
Speaker 1 (02:03:06):
Lows.
Speaker 4 (02:03:07):
I googled it and it bark beetles.
Speaker 2 (02:03:09):
Bark beetles. You brought bark beetles. We brought bark beetles
into the studio. Yeah, your dad, Hey, you can't even
have a studio.
Speaker 4 (02:03:17):
So luckily, luckily, I'm a hoarder and I had the
pillar to swap it back out. And so now we're
back to square one here.
Speaker 2 (02:03:26):
Oh so we don't have our seater anymore. You've got
to do double seedar too.
Speaker 4 (02:03:29):
I was gonna do double seedar.
Speaker 5 (02:03:30):
Yeah, can't you spray it with something the next one
you bring in, go ahead and treat it before you
bring it in.
Speaker 4 (02:03:34):
We should probably do that. I thought my dad maybe
had done that, but I guess he just took it
straight out of the woods.
Speaker 2 (02:03:38):
Like a farmer or something, because he's hardcore a farmer.
Did you tell your dad about this?
Speaker 4 (02:03:43):
I did, and he said, get that out of there
right now. I'll bring you a new one. Get it
out right now. I didn't think that would happen, especially
with cedar. So he repeated the cedar line, and I
was like, yeah, I know that about cedar again.
Speaker 2 (02:03:55):
But Greg made the point the cedar is only for moths.
It's not every bug.
Speaker 1 (02:03:58):
You don't know that.
Speaker 2 (02:04:00):
You know it's from us. I do know that is
that's why you have cedar closets because they really stink. Really,
Thanks Gray. What do you can always tell when people
have cedar closets if you have.
Speaker 5 (02:04:09):
Lunch with it?
Speaker 4 (02:04:09):
The smell of seedar, you cedar, the smell of cedars. No,
it doesn't, it's great.
Speaker 5 (02:04:16):
It doesn't smell like.
Speaker 2 (02:04:18):
Having cricket glasses. You don't like the smell of cedar.
Speaker 4 (02:04:21):
The smell of seedar.
Speaker 5 (02:04:22):
You're like a log cabin and all that. I know,
you just smell like cedar.
Speaker 2 (02:04:25):
I know he dislikes a lot of things. I don't
think you may be the only person that dislikes like
cedar reminds me old people, Greg good, not a reminds
you of old people. People's people are saying it's it's
actually powder post beetles.
Speaker 5 (02:04:40):
Oh my good, bark beetles. Same thing. Are they microscopic?
You can't see them?
Speaker 2 (02:04:46):
I don't know. Wow, I know none of us wanted
none of us want to use the T word.
Speaker 5 (02:04:51):
Took them home. I probably took them home when we
didn't know what.
Speaker 4 (02:04:54):
Thanks adding, Okay, so we need to put the cedar
log in a kiln for twenty four hours knocks them out.
Speaker 5 (02:05:00):
Put it in.
Speaker 2 (02:05:01):
Put it in a kiln like an oven.
Speaker 5 (02:05:03):
Okay, did you throw it out like in the woods
right over?
Speaker 4 (02:05:07):
No, it's just right over there are Yeah, where am
I going to take it? What am I going to
do with it?
Speaker 5 (02:05:11):
Don't want them put it in some new woods.
Speaker 4 (02:05:13):
We got woods right here.
Speaker 5 (02:05:14):
You want bark beetles in that sweet and now you're
gonna there's bark beetles everywhere in the wild.
Speaker 2 (02:05:19):
Why not take it out, spray it, treat it, and
then bring it back.
Speaker 4 (02:05:23):
Y'all, it was so full of holes. I can't believe
we didn't notice it. Frankly, like, there's no way we
could say it's.
Speaker 2 (02:05:30):
Wait a minute, you just said to this group. I
can't believe we didn't notice it.
Speaker 4 (02:05:34):
Yeah, come on, man, granted y'all didn't notice it, and
I swapped it on.
Speaker 5 (02:05:39):
Yeah, Greg, this morning goes all right.
Speaker 4 (02:05:41):
That's so funny. It took y'all a week to notice that.
That's funny.
Speaker 2 (02:05:44):
Well, you protected us from here, But here's the good news.
You protected us from bark beetles or whatever beetles. Okay,
but unfortunately you've just killed every tree the landscapers put
around this building. Yeah, crawl and up a tree.
Speaker 4 (02:06:00):
You think I'm the only one that has bark beetles
in the world. There Now, all the tree is gonna
start dying. They've started from they've already been falling. Hi,
didn't knock out the population of that.
Speaker 2 (02:06:13):
We'll come back when we come back next. Phone calls.

(02:07:36):
you know, a little bit older in life, and and
I've heard you talk about Field of Greens, heard you
go on and on about it. Finally I bit the
bullet eight months ago, had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday
of last week. Waited till after the appointment to do
the labs. During the appointment, she was my doctor wanted
(02:08:00):
to put me on a statin, which I've been fighting on.
I don't want to take a statin if I can
avoid it because of obvious potential side effects, you know.
Speaker 5 (02:08:11):
Over a long period of.
Speaker 2 (02:08:11):
Time, talked about how many of my labs had been
just a little high, and she's my doctor said, I
think you need to be on the statin. However, after
the labs came in, I've been doing Field of Greens
now for eight months. After the labs came in, I
got a callback that all my levels were now normal,
(02:08:35):
no statins needed.
Speaker 5 (02:08:37):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (02:08:38):
I'm seventy one years old. It's the first time that
I have ever had the doctor brag on my blood
work and I feel great, and the words of Gomer Pyle.
Speaker 5 (02:08:50):
Thank you, thank you, thank you for pointing.
Speaker 2 (02:08:53):
Me to Field of Greens. It's a Gomer yep, so
you said. Also, of course I love the old show,
listen to you, but I do like this this version. Now,

Speaker 4 (02:09:47):
I'm good, How y'all doing you?
Speaker 2 (02:09:48):
I'm good man. I had to comment on what y'all
some about the today, about the radio stations and how
the timon's off and stuff. Well, what I listened to
y'all along the outro.
Speaker 5 (02:10:01):
You know, so this is the rick murder.
Speaker 4 (02:10:03):
So online it always goes this is the rick like that,
it never finishes says this.
Speaker 2 (02:10:12):
Yeah, yeah, you're not the first person. So what where?
What do you listen on? Which station?
Speaker 5 (02:10:17):
Sure?
Speaker 4 (02:10:18):
What?
Speaker 5 (02:10:18):
Uhn point three? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:10:21):
Well can you do it one more time?
Speaker 5 (02:10:26):
Yeah? Yeah, it says, uh, this is their rick.
Speaker 2 (02:10:30):
Yeah, we've been getting that. They have been searching for
the problem in Huntsville, and I think they found it.
But it's going to take some time to to maybe
repair it, so that should go away. But they they
have found the problem there, and I know that problem
has been going on a wall. Uh, but we they
think they found the reason.
Speaker 7 (02:10:50):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:10:51):
Let's go to Ben out of Mississippi. Ben, go ahead.
Speaker 5 (02:10:56):
Hey, guys, how are y'all this morning? We are great.
I came in a little late on that last segment,
but Adler was talking about replacing that pillar with a
cedar post.
Speaker 4 (02:11:08):
I like, my pillar was a lot soft in that.
Now I use that Lindelle Fellow as a sponsored yoall
that's that's kind of pilly right now.
Speaker 2 (02:11:18):
Yep. Where we grew up, it was called a pillar,
no doubt about that Let's go to David in Pratt
Bull I ninety two w l W I Man, I
love seeing that I ninety two Van and the Marty
Grass Parade with a new logo on everything Shark h
Davy go ahead.
Speaker 11 (02:11:37):
Yes, I just want to say good morning, and I
love the show already. I thought about this this weekend,
I said, if y'all were I said to thinking about
what would what would be y'all's walk up theme songs?
Each on one of y'all's If y'all played in the
major leagues, what would be y'all's walk up song coming
up to the plate to get ready to knock one
out of.
Speaker 2 (02:11:54):
The park, speedy, you got a walk up song, you
would hit you you're still in baseball more the walk
up song. They didn't really exist in our days when
we play, but now you have. It could go two
different ways.
Speaker 5 (02:12:07):
You have some that go current modern and then you
have some that just go way back with classics that
everybody starts singing along with. So that's a tough decision there.
Do you go current or do you I know where
you would land you you're going something eighties for sure. Oh,
I mean there's no there's no reason to ask what
you would do if I went mad modern right now?
And I'm trying to think, oh yeah, if I went
(02:12:29):
modern right now? And every time I hear this song,
I get so fired up. As a matter of fact, Sean,
the trainer plays it during the final you know at
the end is the cardio. That's that's the They call
it the finisher, and he cuts his song.
Speaker 2 (02:12:44):
On every finish. It is higher Power by Crowder.
Speaker 5 (02:12:48):
Okay, go higher Power? Oh that song?
Speaker 2 (02:12:54):
So it would be that or like you said, probably Thunderstruck.
Speaker 5 (02:12:59):
Yeah, so that you have something that Greg wants to wear.
Greg is Greg going, I'm going back and forth.
Speaker 7 (02:13:03):
On the.
Speaker 5 (02:13:05):
Patriot Iron Maiden.
Speaker 2 (02:13:07):
Whow are you serious?
Speaker 5 (02:13:09):
No, no, no, loan, don't do that.
Speaker 2 (02:13:12):
Came out of nowhere. What would yours be?
Speaker 4 (02:13:15):
American? Probably real American by Rick Darringer. I am a
real American. Five of the rights.
Speaker 5 (02:13:25):
You played the alt Adler thing there.
Speaker 4 (02:13:26):
That's a whole Cogan used to walk out to it too.
Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
Okay, yeah, all right, all right, okay, uh Daniel in Huntsville, Daniel,
go ahead.
Speaker 6 (02:13:37):
Boys, y'all doing all right?
Speaker 5 (02:13:38):
We're good.
Speaker 6 (02:13:40):
So my wife found out that we are pregnant with
our second son. Congratulations, appreciate it. Yeah, I need a
little help naming him. The topic of you with your
annunciation on the live reading of your book, which I
am very excited to read, by the way. Uh, that's
been the topic of our household because what we want
(02:14:02):
to name him? Because I'm such a redneck I can't
pronounce it. Walk this one out for me. I must,
i'most spell it for you. W Y A T T.
Speaker 2 (02:14:15):
Whyatt?
Speaker 5 (02:14:17):
Why?
Speaker 7 (02:14:18):
Why? No?
Speaker 4 (02:14:19):
Not?
Speaker 2 (02:14:19):
Why the color?
Speaker 4 (02:14:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (02:14:22):
So obviously when I'm staying his name, I'm gonna enunciate it.
But that's been the name that we have been leaning
towards the most, and I just need to know if
I have y'all's approval of can I say what.
Speaker 2 (02:14:36):
You can? Some people will say, yeah, we can see that,
But what's his name?
Speaker 12 (02:14:44):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:14:45):
You know I changed it today, probably something simple like Rick.
Speaker 6 (02:14:51):
That's a good one.
Speaker 2 (02:14:52):
Did you know My mom named us Rick, greg and
Angie because she said she was named Ganelle and it
drove her crazy. Uh, growing up that nobody that nobody
can pronounce her. Now she said, my kids are gonna
have names that everybody can pronounce. But uh, I think
Whyatt is a cool name. It really is, and I
just stick with it and saying, however you want to
because you're the boy's daddy.
Speaker 6 (02:15:13):
Hey, that's my boy.
Speaker 2 (02:15:15):
That's my boy. Why named after? I think that? I
think that is a cool Now I've always liked that.
Speaker 7 (02:15:21):
Man.
Speaker 2 (02:15:22):
Uh, let's go to Jason. Jason, Welcome to the show.
Speaker 6 (02:15:25):
Go, good morning, fellas.
Speaker 5 (02:15:27):
How are y'all? We're good. I've got a slogan for
the show.
Speaker 11 (02:15:31):
Okay, the show for every man.
Speaker 2 (02:15:34):
Okay, all right, there you go. What about women? But yeah,
I understand what you're saying. Absolutely, Greg. I'm gonna you
can't even there laughing in there, laughing. He just texted
me to have a walk up song for him. What
was that boy?
Speaker 5 (02:15:50):
George crying game?
Speaker 2 (02:15:53):
Somebody said crazy train?
Speaker 5 (02:15:54):
Which is that? That is a that is a sure?
Speaker 7 (02:15:59):
Is all right?
Speaker 5 (02:16:00):
We'll be back, Hey, Greg, burchase bottom out.
Speaker 1 (02:16:06):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the show that is
willing to search for the answer to why anyone would
(02:16:27):
drive slow in the left lane? The Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (02:16:32):
If you just heard that, are you out there?
Speaker 5 (02:16:34):
Get over? Get over? Get over?
Speaker 2 (02:16:39):
All right, So, working through another one today, and we
were just talking about these you know, welcome times. Now
coming to the plate wearing number forty four, Rick Purchase
playing first back Greg. People are saying, yours is called Trooper.
(02:17:13):
My brain it is the Trooper. Yeah, I meant the Trooper.
Ever you say something and you don't know why he
said it?
Speaker 5 (02:17:19):
When you know the answer that.
Speaker 2 (02:17:21):
The trooper the Trooper. Oh it's awesome by iron mate. Yes,
it's a good walk up riff if you'll listen to that.
That's all I'm saying. Yeah, I don't know what my
brain discues. I mean I see that they got the
guy with the revolutionary suit on and everything. Greg, what okay,
don't hate on the trooper call you the plate right,
(02:17:45):
let me see let me hear it first. Now coming
to the plate wearing number four, second baseman.
Speaker 5 (02:17:55):
Greg Purchase, Purchase.
Speaker 2 (02:18:04):
Okay, okay, that's funny, that's usual.
Speaker 5 (02:18:10):
Was what Rick Derringer?
Speaker 4 (02:18:12):
What was that?
Speaker 5 (02:18:12):
Rick Deringer? The American?
Speaker 1 (02:18:14):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (02:18:14):
Rick Deringer is real American. So I got it right
here if you want okay, yeah, I got it right Okay,
stop my other music.
Speaker 2 (02:18:21):
They just did it because of the hull.
Speaker 4 (02:18:23):
Yeah yeah, I remember that.
Speaker 2 (02:18:25):
Remember. Let me bring you to the plate.
Speaker 1 (02:18:26):
Then sight for the right song.
Speaker 9 (02:18:35):
There's no real.
Speaker 2 (02:18:38):
You guys joy when.
Speaker 4 (02:18:41):
Your life now coming to the plate.
Speaker 2 (02:18:45):
Ever hair com plate right field and wearing the number
negative four. Probably not y'alls.
Speaker 4 (02:18:59):
It's mine. It's it's good, it's fine. It's not for y'all.
Speaker 5 (02:19:04):
It's not for you.
Speaker 4 (02:19:05):
But are you about to shore?
Speaker 2 (02:19:07):
Are you about it's mine?
Speaker 5 (02:19:11):
Because I'm about to hit a dinger?
Speaker 2 (02:19:15):
Would you ever consider emil that it then become a
big song The Whiskey Falls, Yeah, yeah, it's just it's
just really played a lot.
Speaker 5 (02:19:22):
It's played you never well, it's it's uh, it's really
one that I beg j C to have just for fun,
because there's walk up songs can go two different ways.
You want something just driving that's really just for you,
or you want something that's gonna have everybody kind of interacting.
Speaker 2 (02:19:38):
Because there's some classics kind of like The Trooper.
Speaker 5 (02:19:42):
Yeah, there there's some classics that that that the the
stands kind of start either singing or class you know,
it's like which which route do you want to go?
And so before this this is like j C. He's
this is it this he's a singer. And so before
the season we'll get around and just start playingtuff. You'll go, hey,
what about this one? And I'm like, please play this
(02:20:02):
one just to be goofy, because I could just hear it.
Would you would you pick cotton idea?
Speaker 2 (02:20:07):
No, no, no, no, no, it's it's didn't have to mend.
Speaker 5 (02:20:11):
This when you would used to.
Speaker 2 (02:20:12):
Yeah, I said, this would be kind of fun, not useless.
Speaker 1 (02:20:17):
Give it.
Speaker 9 (02:20:18):
Just give it a.
Speaker 2 (02:20:21):
Coming to the plate wearing number eleven, playing left center field.
Speaker 5 (02:20:26):
Yeah, that's ageing. Of course they don't have that in baseball.
But wilbur No, no, IM good, I'm good.
Speaker 18 (02:20:54):
I'm good.
Speaker 2 (02:20:55):
You can slid on one foot there I did.
Speaker 5 (02:20:58):
That's a good one. That's a great way. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I like that.
Speaker 2 (02:21:03):
I just I want to. But it's good because again
you could go, there's so different different routes.
Speaker 5 (02:21:10):
Something that's like.
Speaker 2 (02:21:11):
You all are doing, or something like a classic can
have some something fun.
Speaker 5 (02:21:16):
Those are all good.
Speaker 2 (02:21:18):
So Adler, I know that we it went way, way, way, way,
way way back old time. Probably will make it to
the Greatest Hits podcast. Sunday at the Burgesses when I
wrote down what it was like to have to go
to church with the lots of little kids, and I
(02:21:39):
understand do you have a tough Sunday, buddy.
Speaker 5 (02:21:43):
What happened?
Speaker 4 (02:21:44):
I just, first of all, I want to say, I'm
so happy to have my younger brother, Jake. He is
now leading a church here.
Speaker 5 (02:21:52):
In Brian Welcome home, Jake.
Speaker 4 (02:21:54):
Yes, he's been up in Des Moines, Uh for a
few years now, up in a church there and done
an amazing job there. He would send us every winter
like a shot of him snowed into the church, like
literally eight feet of snow in one section of the
church up there in Iowa.
Speaker 5 (02:22:10):
But he's back.
Speaker 4 (02:22:11):
He's back at at Hope Community Church in Birmingham and
Birmingham and it is just a it's such a blessing
to have my brother back in town. I love him
so much. He's ten years younger than me, so it
was weird, like I changed his diapers growing up. But
now he's like an adult, like a real man. He's
like a real Yeah.
Speaker 12 (02:22:29):
I know.
Speaker 4 (02:22:30):
In fact, changing Jake and Brady's diapers really prepped me
to be a dad now.
Speaker 5 (02:22:35):
So we're good.
Speaker 2 (02:22:36):
Do you ever throw that back to him?
Speaker 4 (02:22:37):
I do.
Speaker 2 (02:22:38):
I changed diapers about a mind mail.
Speaker 4 (02:22:42):
Yes, I absolutely did so.
Speaker 7 (02:22:45):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:22:45):
But man, he's just he's just grown into this incredible
man of God. He and his wife Meredith are doing
almost what Michael and Linda.
Speaker 2 (02:22:53):
Adler is about to say that the squaling.
Speaker 4 (02:22:56):
No, it's it's really sweet to see. Uh, Jake really
one hundred percent following in my dad's footsteps as far
as career and everything.
Speaker 2 (02:23:04):
Kind of corrects the disappointment you've been.
Speaker 4 (02:23:05):
It really does. You could see like, well, yeah, there's
Luke and I we were the older brothers, and then
ten years later there's Jake and Brady. And my parents
were like, okay, at ten years after Luke and I
were growing up, We're like, They're like, okay, we need
to try this again, right, And they did a much
better job the second time.
Speaker 2 (02:23:22):
I really had to have a miracle to be able
to try thegain. Yes, yeah, y'all, y'all were so bad.
They did a do over here. Yeah they did, and
they did much better that kind of like our family,
did you know. They thought, well, maybe Greg will not
be the disappointment that Rick was. Oh, this one looks
disappointing too. Let's try another one. Yes, Oh good, it's
a girl. Ten years later, let's try for a girl.
Maybe that'll go better, Thank goodness, for Angie right.
Speaker 4 (02:23:43):
So yeah, I I've been kind of jumped. I'm in
a weird spot right now when it comes to churches.
I frankly, I really am my dad.
Speaker 2 (02:23:50):
I don't want to bring that up. I was asked
about you this weekend by shearing No, no, no, it's
what where where are they going? Where do they go
to church?
Speaker 4 (02:23:57):
So it's uh. I was actually talking with the about
this last night too. I've been jumping around a little
bit since my dad left Shades Mountain Baptist Church, which
is a beautiful church and he had a beautiful chime there.
But they have come into a new era with Pastor
Danny Wood leading leaving that. You know, when you bring
in a new pastor, they're ready to turn over a
new leaf as well. Of course, so my dad has
(02:24:19):
actually been and so I've got Shades to go to,
which I love Shades. My dad is now leading at
Hunter Street, so I've been going to Hunter Street as well.
They have a slide.
Speaker 5 (02:24:30):
They do have a slide. You have to think about
the little kids, right, they have a slide.
Speaker 2 (02:24:33):
So I'm like, Okay, my church, we just built a
brand new playground and Kirkwood's.
Speaker 4 (02:24:39):
There Okay, now we got to go check out that playground.
I'm just really just checking out the playgrounds when I
go to different churches, I'm really just all right, Okay,
you got a good pastor that's fine, tell me about
your playground. A swirly slide or a straight one? What
are we dealing with here?
Speaker 5 (02:24:54):
And so it's not the small groups the slides.
Speaker 4 (02:24:56):
And I compare it to going to where my dad
is is like where if your dad is coaching a
ball game, you want to go watch them coach, you know,
So that a lot. And so I've been hopping around.
Some days I'll go to Shade, some days I'll go
on Hunter Street. And now Jake is leading it.
Speaker 2 (02:25:12):
Hope there's another option.
Speaker 4 (02:25:14):
So now I've got another option. And it's really funny
because my entire life, every Sunday morning I was my
dad has has led it quite a few different churches,
but he has done long stints like ten years, twenty years,
ten years and hop around. Yeah exactly. So I never
hopped around. And so it's it's kind of funny. Ruby
and Ezra are getting to actually church hop a little bit.
(02:25:36):
And so I brought Jake, I brought Ezra and Ruby
with Aaron to Jake's church for his first Sunday.
Speaker 5 (02:25:46):
Oh, let's pause right here.
Speaker 4 (02:25:47):
It's Sunday.
Speaker 5 (02:25:48):
You can't rush. Just wait a minute.
Speaker 2 (02:25:50):
Your brother and his wife are now the new couple
who lead worship like your mom and dad in their
new arrangement, and you picked Sunday number one. I understand
where you, like, I need to be there to support you, brother,
but you're bringing two little kids, not only to church
which is already a mountain to climb a new church.
Speaker 5 (02:26:11):
Yes, all right, I want to hear about that, to see.
Speaker 2 (02:26:14):
How that was.
Speaker 4 (02:26:15):
Okay, I'm just glad to be here at or to
relax there.
Speaker 2 (02:26:20):
You can't be like you got to be on your
your brother.
Speaker 5 (02:26:23):
Time change, time change all you picked time change Sunday too.
Speaker 4 (02:26:27):
I didn't pick it.
Speaker 2 (02:26:28):
It was thrown upon me, you know. Oh, and that's
the one that throws little kids away off.
Speaker 5 (02:26:33):
So long, we'll be back.
Speaker 2 (02:26:35):
We'll hear the story with Adler right over for this.
Speaker 1 (02:26:40):
This is the Rick Burgess show, the man who pointed
(02:27:07):
out that there is no such thing as boatless we recouches.
Speaker 2 (02:27:16):
It's actually chicken breast and winged sauce. I mean's what
it is all right, So Paddler sets up the next
segment here. So he decides to take his small children
four and two years old. He says, Now when they
are church shopping, one of the things they ask is
tell us about your playground. And so you're going to
(02:27:38):
your brother who is now home after how many years
he was away?
Speaker 4 (02:27:41):
I guess maybe four years, four years in the bitter
cold north Iowa.
Speaker 2 (02:27:47):
So he comes home and you decide to give him
a homecoming his first Sunday to be the worship leader.
And we know that a church body has never been
critical of the new worship leader, right, that never happens.
And now you've decided to show up on daylight savings
time forward one hour, kids off schedule, and bring them
to his new church to support him.
Speaker 4 (02:28:09):
Yes, so uh we roll up to Hope Community Church
and beautiful church. They have bells, by the way, I mean,
I haven't been around like yeah, yeah, yeah until I
kind of kick it off, yeah kind of old square.
Christmas is really nice, yeah, and so bells. So I
(02:28:30):
I load my put my pocket up with some suckers
because smart trying to get through time, that buys you
time each sucker in your pocket is time. Just pull
it out, snatch And so we sit down in the
in the in the floor of the church. There's a
floor in a balcony.
Speaker 5 (02:28:46):
Oh boy, you don't even get in the balcony.
Speaker 2 (02:28:48):
I know.
Speaker 4 (02:28:48):
I should have started in the balcony because there's less
people in your less you know, you welcome problems. And
the music is generally easy to get through because it's loud,
and the kids love music, and they'll watch and.
Speaker 2 (02:29:02):
We can see Paul's worship. Care not an option here
because the kids are new. It didn't work the first time.
Celebrate Uncle Jake.
Speaker 4 (02:29:12):
We're celebrating Uncle Jake. And I gotta be honest. The
only time I've ever dropped my kids off at that
I usually keep them with me, which is stupid because
it makes it so much harder and then I end
up spending a lot of time in the lobby listening
to the message.
Speaker 5 (02:29:25):
But the.
Speaker 4 (02:29:27):
I gotta get over this. But the only time I've
dropped my kids off at the church place is when
my brother was actually working in the room.
Speaker 2 (02:29:35):
That's on me.
Speaker 4 (02:29:36):
I need to get past that. I do need to
get past that. It's the they have a system, they
have security. It's fine. It's gonna be fine. And I'm
just kind of talking out loud.
Speaker 2 (02:29:44):
Are your kids?
Speaker 4 (02:29:45):
It's not that, it's just like you know, it's just
I want to I want my kid to be with me.
I want to try to get them different. I want
to try to get him to sit through church. That's different.
Speaker 5 (02:29:55):
I thought you were saying you were afraid of worship care.
Speaker 4 (02:29:57):
It's not that I'm afraid of it. It's just I
haven't done it. I haven't done it.
Speaker 2 (02:30:01):
But if you're doing it, because this is your decisions,
a dad, you want your kids to be in church
with you, that's different.
Speaker 5 (02:30:06):
Yeah, I thought you were afraid of it.
Speaker 4 (02:30:08):
It's it's not that I'm afraid of it. I just
haven't done it. And so it's like I keep I
keep pushing it back. I mean, I grew up in
church child care. I had great experiences my entire life.
So I don't know what my problem is. I'm just
being frank.
Speaker 2 (02:30:20):
That's a separate session. Yeah, it's a separate session.
Speaker 4 (02:30:23):
While we're clearing things up. The reason I said I
wasn't a good dad last week, I don't know if
y'all remember that. It's because one word patience patience just
a little. I am patient. I'm patient with my kids
on the outside. I'm dying on the inside. I'm not
(02:30:44):
enjoying moments that I should enjoy. I am I'm just
trying everything I have to keep my anger inside, you know.
And Ruby's so much easier. I've gone to church just
me and Ruby a lot more time. She's four, She's
a girl.
Speaker 5 (02:31:03):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (02:31:04):
The level of which I can speak to her, it's like, hey, baby,
I know you're frustrated right now, and everybody feels frustrated.
I feel frustrated on but what we need to do
is take a deep breath, count to ten, ask God
for a peaceful, patient heart. Okay, baby, I know you
can do it.
Speaker 5 (02:31:20):
I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (02:31:22):
What are you whispering that to her? Because it's in
the service?
Speaker 4 (02:31:26):
Yes, and then but like with Ezra, you don't. You
can't speak that way. It's like no talk, no kid,
no kid, no kid, kid.
Speaker 5 (02:31:41):
You speak to your old boy.
Speaker 4 (02:31:43):
Yes, yes, and he wants to speak to us in
Tarzan too, like light light, Like you know there's a
light in this church. This church has light. I'm not
joking you. Jake, and Jake is my brother who's the.
Speaker 2 (02:31:57):
New worship pastor Sunday, please don't miss.
Speaker 4 (02:32:00):
It's his very first Sunday. Meredith is his wife, So
Ezra feels the need to scream Jake and Mayre nose
jac and Mayor.
Speaker 2 (02:32:10):
Knows from from the floor in the pew.
Speaker 4 (02:32:12):
He's screaming this to me. Yeah, Jake and Meredith have noses, buddy,
they do. They do have noses. But I need you
to not point that out right now while they're trying
to make a baby dedication, which you should be up there.
I don't know why you're not, because you can't find
the kid at church, just one right exactly. So suckers
suckers by time always, but I don't know how oh
(02:32:35):
so sticky. I don't know how a child can be
so loud with a sucker. It's like, dude, quiet, This was.
Speaker 2 (02:32:52):
System moment.
Speaker 4 (02:32:53):
This was supposed to be buy me quiet time. And
why is his stomach always out? Every time I look
at the kid and it's just a belly button and
big old milk filled belly at all time?
Speaker 5 (02:33:07):
Show you the ba at the drop hat.
Speaker 4 (02:33:10):
Because you're always having to pick them up and move
them back over up onto the pew and all this
stuff and his belly is always out. But we actually
made it through the music. Okay, the message says the
message stars Jake Mayor knows they do have noses. We
have covered that love them. Everybody has a nose unless
there's been some horrible accident in their lives. They all
(02:33:34):
have noses.
Speaker 2 (02:33:35):
And the entire congregation now know that your aunt.
Speaker 5 (02:33:38):
And uncle have a nose.
Speaker 7 (02:33:39):
Yeh.
Speaker 4 (02:33:39):
Did Jake ever make eye contact with you? Like, hey,
of course I think so. But it was when we're
me friend, like, thanks for being here. I knew you
were the best brother, and I was like, I love you, Jake.
So that's how that went.
Speaker 5 (02:33:51):
He could hear your kids, You sure could have been
where's that noise coming from?
Speaker 2 (02:33:55):
You know, we got worship care? Do you think that
they if both of them over and over again kept
checking their nose with the cleaner.
Speaker 4 (02:34:04):
I kept talking about, I have no what's his deal?
So we make to the music and and he's immediately
yelling during the message, So I walk him out. I'm
on lobby duty. And Aaron stays in the congregation with
Ruby Ruby's writing her name your full name, Ruby Adler.
(02:34:24):
I mean, she's amazing. Girls, bless him. My goodness. Girls. Wow,
I'm gonna have somebody to take care of me when
I'm old. It's amazing. I'm so thankful for my daughter.
Speaker 2 (02:34:34):
She wake out the nursing home. I got three boys. Thanks, Sorry, buddy,
So you'll be left on the side of the room.
Speaker 4 (02:34:42):
And then then I go up to the lobby. Then
I go up to the loft or whatever, the upper area,
and I realize, Okay, it's way thin up here, lots
of room. I feel like the sound doesn't carry as
much into the room, but I could be just wishing that.
So I say to Aaron, Hey, we're gonna go. We're
gonna go up We're up in the balcony. If you
want to come up there, we are.
Speaker 5 (02:35:04):
I'm sorry, we're up here. Nos.
Speaker 9 (02:35:09):
Nos, light, lots of light, lots of light.
Speaker 4 (02:35:14):
Yeah, there's lights, otherwise it would be dark. So we
actually moved all up upstairs. And so we're up there
and the sucker's going and we get through the service
and it's great, and I walk down the stairs and
we want to congratulate jac and Meredith on their first
great news thing. I walk back into the congregation and
realize I am carrying a stink bomb, so I just
(02:35:38):
have to go run to the front.
Speaker 2 (02:35:39):
Hey, Ja, great job, buddy.
Speaker 4 (02:35:41):
By the way, the smells.
Speaker 2 (02:35:41):
The smells, not me, great job. I love you.
Speaker 4 (02:35:43):
God his hand is on you. And now I gotta
go change this huge diaper in the van.
Speaker 2 (02:35:45):
See a letter? Oh no, you imagine him.
Speaker 4 (02:35:48):
But I'm a dad. You guys, you know I'm just
doing dad stuff and everything rolls.
Speaker 5 (02:35:51):
Off my back.

our first interview on camera about.
Speaker 4 (02:38:04):
This.
Speaker 2 (02:38:05):
Yeah so here she is giving her side of the.
Story this is the one who actually hit the. Hitter
the hitty of, course has claimed she was assaulted in
skull fracture and, concussion which seems MAYBE i Don't i'm
not a, doctor but that seems a bit. Dramatic but
here is the one who has been accused of doing
this on, purpose saying she did. Not it looks like
(02:38:27):
it's a newspackage from W.
Speaker 5 (02:38:28):
A what is it?
Speaker 2 (02:38:29):

School league indoor track meet that left one athlete allegedly
injured after she claims she was struck by a baton
held by Ic Norcombe High school Senior Alaila. Everett everett
spoke exclusively to ten all your, sides Mar Keita, jackson
who brings us much.
Speaker 5 (02:38:55):
More thank.
Speaker 3 (02:38:56):
You the young athlete in question, says there's more to
that video that meets the.
Speaker 12 (02:39:01):
Eye everybody has, Feelings so you're physically, hurt but you're
not thinking of my mental.
Speaker 3 (02:39:08):
Right Alaila everett is a decorated athlete and senior at
Ic Norcombe High. School she would have never thought her
trip to The class three track and field state finals
Last tuesday would take a drastic.
Speaker 2 (02:39:20):
Turn they're going off of one.
Speaker 3 (02:39:22):
Angle alaila visibly emotional because of this video from the.
Meat this was a four x two hundred meter relay,
race and she and A Brookville high school athlete were
rounding a curve on the track when they nearly collided
with each.
Speaker 12 (02:39:35):
Other after a couple times hitting her ma be time
got stuck behind her back like this and then rolled
up her.
Speaker 5 (02:39:41):
VET i lost my balance and WHEN i pumped my arms,
again she got.
Speaker 3 (02:39:45):
Hit it appears, intentional But alaila says it was.
Speaker 12 (02:39:48):
Accidental BUT i know my intentions AND i would never
hit somebody on. PURPOSE i didn't have to see your first,
video second, video ten. VIDEO i know one hundred. Percent
she won't get to go.
Speaker 3 (02:39:58):
Back her, parents outraged at the, backlash the ic norkumb
relay team was, disqualified a ruling that a LOCAL Usa
track And field official finds. Questionable he says a play
by play look shows that The brookville athlete was running
closely To.
Speaker 2 (02:40:12):
Alaila if a person comes up on the, outside they
got to be a full stride ahead of me before
they can come in front of.
Speaker 3 (02:40:19):
Me the other family spoke with the new station In Rowan,
oak asking for an apology From, alayla something she wants to,
give but she says the other athlete hasn't been. Receptive
blocking her on social, media and instead The everett family
was served with court.
Speaker 2 (02:40:33):
Papers and now we have to go to a city
three hours away that everybody hates our.
Speaker 12 (02:40:40):
Guts, already they're assuming my, character calling me, ghetto racist
slurs that threats all of this just because of a
nice taking.
Speaker 3 (02:40:48):
VIDEO vhsl says they are still reviewing the situation In
Portsmouth Public school says they will support whatever ruling comes
from the.
Speaker 5 (02:40:57):
League, hmm IT'S i noticed, them did you see in
the living room stead of? Speakers nice set up, man very.
Speaker 4 (02:41:05):
NICE i also noticed that they didn't show the angle
that looks the worst in that news. Package they never
showed this angle here that looks like she's deliberately hauling
back and striking the other racer on the. Head they
didn't use that. Footage you would think they would want
to use that footage to be a fair.
Speaker 2 (02:41:22):
Report, well what they should have done is shown both of.
Them you, KNOW i will say you shouldn't look at
you should look at every single. Angle she keeps, saying,
well they keep just showing one. Angle, True but all
y'all did was show us one angle the entire. Story
so why don't we look at all the angles and
that will help us to. Determine so what she's saying
is they kept rubbing his racing and that the baton
(02:41:43):
kept getting caught behind the other runner's. Back she came
out from, behind her back went up in the, air
and she went to go back to her stride and
hit her in the back of the head trying to
go back to her arm.
Speaker 5 (02:41:54):
Pumping, well the first TIME i saw, this you, REMEMBER
i told YOU i watched it a couple of. Times
and what threw me off is when the one that
got hit cross the lane and then went to the
infield and fell. Down the girl that hit, her she
you could tell she stopped almost like she, like, hey
oh my, gosh you, know like maybe it was done
on the, accident BUT i don't.
Speaker 4 (02:42:13):
Know but she did continue to. Run she didn't stop
stop all the, way but she did kind of like
looking like, oops kind of, right, yeah h oh?
Speaker 18 (02:42:23):
Wow WHAT i?
Speaker 4 (02:42:28):
Mean DO i need to get my judge?
Speaker 2 (02:42:29):
Costs anytime you hear that you?
Speaker 4 (02:42:31):
Do, oh, okay what's your?
Speaker 5 (02:42:32):
Problem what do y'all? Think? Judge so we we obviously
have both.
Speaker 2 (02:42:40):
Angles, Now, greg where's your detector on?
Speaker 5 (02:42:44):
This no smoke? Detector pun intended.
Speaker 2 (02:42:48):
If it looks like when she hit, her she. Realized,
oh and then because if you, watch she goes back
and goes you, know like you, like moving her arms.
Speaker 5 (02:42:57):
Running you know What i'm.
Speaker 2 (02:42:58):
SAYING i think SHE i think she hit her and
then regretted it quickly and tried you, KNOW i don't,
know because if you, watch she and then she does
this like a couple.
Speaker 5 (02:43:08):
Of times like this an air right. Hand so have
you seen both aingles enough to make that? Call right?
Speaker 2 (02:43:16):
There you, say did it on? Purpose regretted it and
tried To sometimes we do things LIKE i can't BELIEVE
i just did, that.
Speaker 5 (02:43:23):
Yeah, speedy.
Speaker 2 (02:43:28):
Trying to find the good in.
Speaker 5 (02:43:29):
Everybody of, course you always, Okay and the fact that
she's a decorated track, star she has to know the
consequences of just doing something like, this even though that
looks Extremely.
Speaker 2 (02:43:41):
You've already made your. RULING i, asked had you've seen?
Enough oh, wow, YEAH i go back to my. Root
how she's trying to do there to make it look, like, oh,
look she don't normally run with her baton up there like.
Speaker 5 (02:43:51):
That she was she changed her.
Speaker 2 (02:43:53):
Way i'm going to look like have been It i'm
gonna see What i'm.
Speaker 5 (02:43:55):
Saying you go, Ahead, NO i Just i'm gonna take
her at her word and say that she didn't mean
to do, it but it looks. Terrible, OKAY i Know
i'll be in the minority on.
Speaker 1 (02:44:06):
This, no maybe.
Speaker 5 (02:44:07):
Not let me tell you that one shot it does.
WELL i don't.
Speaker 7 (02:44:11):
KNOW i.
Speaker 2 (02:44:12):
Think CAN i tell you what both of? YOU i
think both of you are. RIGHT i think that her first,
react what caused her to get her baton up the first,
time really was what she. Said this she got over on.
Speaker 5 (02:44:24):
ME i was pulling my baton, out, like get off my.
Speaker 2 (02:44:27):
Baton but instead of just going to the run and hit,
HER i do think she hit her and then went
to the try like you, said.
Speaker 4 (02:44:34):
Go to the form to go.
Speaker 2 (02:44:36):
Look SO i think what she's trying to do and
this does, happen is that she is telling the absolute
truth THAT i didn't. Like go, hey you're passing, Me
i'm gonna club you in the head with the. Baton
and it is one hundred percent Tru the other runner
caused her baton to get up in the, air but
when she came. Down when that, happened it made her
(02:44:56):
mad and she did hit her in the back.
Speaker 5 (02:44:58):
Of the head with, it.
Speaker 2 (02:45:00):
And then to cover it she changes her form to
make it a little like.
Speaker 5 (02:45:03):
That but that was just a natural motion that she.
Speaker 4 (02:45:04):
Happened, okay so crime of, Opportunity rick, issying crime of.
Speaker 2 (02:45:09):
Opportunity i'm, going did, it regretted it, immediately and tried
to fix. It i'm also, going got mad lost her.
Coup same Thing greg, saying BUT i don't think she's
making up the part about my baton got caught behind
the other. Runner that's absolutely. True BUT i think she
could have brought it down and went back to running
without hit her in the head with. It AND i
(02:45:29):
think that part she she did on part.
Speaker 5 (02:45:31):
And this little DO i think she did it on
accident but doesn't regret it because she probably really don't like.
It that's out there.
Speaker 2 (02:45:39):
Too So Judge, adler, uh the jury has come back
with a two to one decision did it on purpose
but regrets?
Speaker 4 (02:45:46):
It, Wow so what we have here is a crime
of passion and opportunity order. Ordered don't, laugh.
Speaker 2 (02:45:54):
He's got his wig.
Speaker 4 (02:45:56):
Order and because it was because the person that got
hit is also, black we can't be called racist for
saying that she did it on? Purpose, correct, order, speedy
don't look at me like. That So i'm just getting
past the order yourself or get, yourself get yourself in.
(02:46:17):
ORDER i will. SUSTAIN i will sustain what the jury
has pleaded and go with the verdict of did it on?
Purpose regretted, it crime of. Opportunity but it was black
on black, crime so nobody really seems to. CARE i, TURN.
Speaker 2 (02:46:43):
I don't think it. WAS i don't. KNOW i think
we were good hear until the judge got a. Hold
happen that, way don't?
Speaker 4 (02:46:53):
THEY i should have said it.
Speaker 2 (02:46:56):
Different i'm about to put on My instagram story what
he looked. Like HOW i praise Did Johnya harding, SAYS
i see no. FAULT i.
Speaker 1 (02:47:08):
Agree this is The Rick Burgess. Show the man will

Uh Secret service shoots man and overnight armed confrontation near
The White. House there's a big. One, look there's there's
a big little weapon at The White house that they'll

After christmas has been taken.
Speaker 5 (02:49:48):
Down i've got that. Down it's. Down y'll calm.
Speaker 2 (02:49:50):
Down so The Secret service they shot somebody during this
confrontation and unfolded after midnight by the block west of
The White, house near is our executive office. Building the
police sources identified the suspect as a suspect as a
twenty seven year Old Andrew dawson Of. Indiana Really indiana
(02:50:12):
interested that that's weird and, yes they're pretty reasonable people
usually Getting honda.
Speaker 5 (02:50:16):
Back so, anyway that's why he did.
Speaker 2 (02:50:20):
It he confronted agents that were investigating an earlier alert
if by the way if you are confronted By Secret,
service don't This it's serious, now it.
Speaker 5 (02:50:31):
Was this one of these suicide by cop. Things it.
Is they're saying that they believed this was.
Speaker 2 (02:50:36):
Suicidal they believe he wanted to be confronted and he
wanted to be, shot and he got what he. Wanted
that is not the way to. Go they told him
several times to drop the. Weapons he did not, comply
and they they said he brandished a.
Speaker 4 (02:50:53):
Firearm not.
Speaker 2 (02:50:54):
Good don't brandish firearms at The Secret, SERVICE. Noo an
armed confrontation, ensued shots were. Card the suspect was rushed
to an area. Hospital his condition. Unknown so there you,
go coming around The White house with weapons.
Speaker 5 (02:51:11):
That'll draw some.
Speaker 2 (02:51:11):
Fires following not following instructions never. Good but as you,
Said regul looks like he wanted to be. Shot, so
which is kind of a strange goal in. Life, yeah
let's let's let's find it. Weird let's find different. Goals
let's get a little.
Speaker 5 (02:51:26):
Help they're giving you every attempt, to you, know peacefully
talk him, down BUT i, mean they can't wait to
see if you're serious or. Not you pull the weapon is?
Speaker 2 (02:51:36):
Over, YEAH i mean that week all the negotiating's, done
it is it's it's bad badness again and. Again this,
person no matter what skin tone they may have, been
most of the time people end up getting shot or
getting in trouble because of their, actions not because of
what color they. ARE f sixteen fighters yet fire flares
(02:51:57):
to intercept unauthorized aircraft that entered a no fly zone
over Mar A. Lago they, said a few. Players let him,
know you got a lot of crazies out, there and
you can't be flying over Mar A lago while he's,
president especially since we've there's been attempts for people to
kill the president. Twice, yeah uh so.
Speaker 5 (02:52:19):
You do have it on. Record you do have to
take every one of those.
Speaker 2 (02:52:23):
Serious of, course we said they fired flares to get
the attention of a civilian pilot while the president finished
a round of golf at His West Palm beach golf.
Course you, know since since you, know a lot of
people been asking when is what's Eating Scott grosky coming
back as soon as we.
Speaker 5 (02:52:39):
Can getting back From West.
Speaker 2 (02:52:40):
Palm you, know he came back one, time was going
to be on with, us and unfortunately his brother passed,
away so we had to deal with, That but do
you go every TIME i hear these things At West,
PALM i wonder's gross cair. Round, yeah he's doing some,
Work there's What i'm. Saying he has to stay down
there for weeks at a. Time so it says that
the intrusion did not Alter trump's schedule or impact his.
Security the flares may have been visible from the, ground
(02:53:03):
but they did burn out quickly and did not pose any.
Danger it says they also conducted an intercept On saturday,
mornings shortly After trump arrived at the course from his
Private marlago, club and they said that violations and intercepts
are relatively routine because people just forget where they.
Speaker 5 (02:53:21):
Are so it sounds like they.
Speaker 2 (02:53:24):
Can't really they haven't really determined whether this is just
some good and not paying attention to what they're, doing
because they said they have responded to more than twenty
incidents and blamed civilian pilots for not following regulations requiring
them to check for airspace restrictions before they ever take.
Off so that would be me IF i was a,
(02:53:45):
PILOT i just hung in a stair not paying. Attention, yeah, Well,
Gregor i'll use one of your. Quotes it sounds like
we got some civilian pilots trying to be sharp going
out to the plane and they're not doing the normal
before you ever, leave you, know you're supposed to turn
in a fly plan and then get it. Approved and
some of them are look at, Me i'm, SHARP i know.
(02:54:06):
That but, anyway so that's uh that that's. Routine and they,
say some of these civilian pilots aren't doing, this so
we have to intercept, them, which by the, way if
we were.
Speaker 5 (02:54:16):
Up, there how hard would we be?
Speaker 2 (02:54:18):
Laughing if we were going like to do a show
on location and all of a sudden the security team
For trump's firing flares out of us down like fly just, hey, no,
no we voted For.
Speaker 5 (02:54:29):
Trump we're.

WHAT i also suffer from secondhand? Embarrassment AND i don't
want you to ask speedy on the air during the
hay bird hey bird. SEGMENT i really believe. Me reading
this may may pull it. Off it may you may
struggle with just hearing. It there's no way you could
have watched. It, oh it's based on What adler just said,
(02:57:36):
Too so, ANYWAY i had to share. This Last, TUESDAY
i attended The Orlando Magic Toronto RAPTORS nba.
Speaker 5 (02:57:43):
Game, okay, oh speedy bad? Enough?
Speaker 2 (02:57:46):
What during a, timeout they had a contest that was
obviously an attempt to elevate women's, sport and They he
asked the fan if he could name famous female athletes
in thirty, seconds, many just as many as he could
(02:58:09):
in thirty. Seconds then a player on The magic meaning
that can can you do?
Speaker 7 (02:58:18):
This you, KNOW.
Speaker 2 (02:58:22):
I don't understand that part about The magic? Okay the
fan would go. First, OH i see he's going against
one of the players in The Orlando.
Speaker 5 (02:58:27):
Magic.
Speaker 2 (02:58:28):
Okay then the fan would go, first and then they
would show a previously recorded video of The magic player
to see who could name the. Most you, know they
don't even bother while they're. Played he used to do
some of this in The.
Speaker 5 (02:58:38):
Titans.
Speaker 2 (02:58:39):
Yeah, yeah so you're very familiar with. This the clock,
starts he, SAID i must at this point let you
all know that the contest. Was the guy who was
chosen to play was a middle aged white. Man he
blurts Out Caitlin. Clark, okay and THEN i can't THINK
(02:59:03):
i see. It after, that he gets nothing. Else he
just brings screams Out Caitlyn, clark and then for twenty nine,
Seconds please Let speedy know he did not say a single.
Word the entire arena filled with people who felt incredibly.
Awkward we couldn't believe what we were. Witnessing i'm not
(02:59:24):
a female sports, Fanatic greg your, point BUT i BELIEVE
i can Do Serena. Williams Simone, Bills oh, YEAH i
started to.
Speaker 5 (02:59:32):
Screaming come, on, man he.
Speaker 2 (02:59:35):
Said he, SAID i had such bad secondhand, embarrassment and
ALL i can think about Was. Speedy If speedy was,
Here i'm afraid he would disappear from the. Earth and
there was an, ENDGAME n see with? Them oh just stood. There,
oh he, said take. It he didn't, Win, no he did.
Not Lando Magic player had.
Speaker 5 (02:59:55):
More, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:59:58):
Tanya Harding, okayan.
Speaker 2 (03:00:00):
He, said but you see where it's. Worse the only
one he could think scream out that was the white.
Speaker 5 (03:00:05):
Player so he said it. Was it was a tough
moment there in the, arena and then everybody in the
arena starts feeling.
Speaker 2 (03:00:12):
Sorry they're trying to. Help he unse how long twenty?
Nine he, writes how long twenty? Nine that's a long
time when you got nothing to. See Caitlyn, Jenner, okay
there you, Go so there we. Go my, Name Hey
bird J, birge he, said he looked for a video of,
it but he couldn't find it. Anywhere hey bird Cha.
Birge my name Is. Ryan Hey, Ryan i'm a somewhat
(03:00:32):
new believer to the faith only Since june of twenty twenty.
TWO i go to a non denominational, church AND i
firmly Believed Jesus christ was who he said he. WAS
i also believe that he is the one and known Living.
God having said, that what's the deal with all the different?
NOMINATIONS i, Said i'm really? Confused are we confusing? PEOPLE
(03:00:56):
i don't know where this comes. FROM i can't find
anything about, this you, know in the, church in The
New testament on it or. No, well that's you're. Dead
only human beings, here, right it is what you're dealing.
Speaker 4 (03:01:06):
With.
Speaker 2 (03:01:06):
Okay, now there's the as the Apostle paul talks, about
there's the, miners and there's the. Majors but it kind
of goes back to the funny, joke which if you're a,
pastor you've heard this. Joke if you're, not you may not.
Have and the joke is the guy who you know
how these jokes get set? Up he survived a sinking
of a, ship got to a deserted island and many
(03:01:29):
many years later was. Found, okay so they walk up
to the deserted island and this guy must have been
a masterful.
Speaker 5 (03:01:37):
Builder he had.
Speaker 2 (03:01:38):
Built they were kind of. Shocked he had built a
really nice house from the stuff there on the. Island
they looked and he'd actually even had like a wreck
area that he. Built and then they look and they
see this incredible church that he's built there on the,
island and he's the only one, there and they're, like,
man you really say yourself. Up and they, said, hey
(03:02:01):
we see the, house we'll see kind of this air
where you exercise and you did. Stuff, man what an incredible.
Church and GUY i, said, yeah well thank. You he,
goes but we don't understand what is this other building over?
Here he, said when that's the CHURCH i used to go.
Speaker 4 (03:02:11):
To so.
Speaker 2 (03:02:15):
That's. Funny it's an old, joke but it's a winner every.
Time so that's kind of something you've got to. Understand
don't focus on all. This you got the right thing
to focus.
Speaker 4 (03:02:30):
On.
Speaker 2 (03:02:30):
OKAY a lot of this denominational stuff are just human beings, saying,
well if you believe that's what scripture, SAYS i just
can't stay, here.
Speaker 5 (03:02:38):
And i'm going to go.
Speaker 2 (03:02:38):
Over and there's things that are minor and then there's
things that are. Major, now if you start getting into someone,
Says i've started a denomination that says that there's many
ways to, heaven and you see some of this other
stuff about we're going to Say god's evolved on something
we don't. Believe The word Of god, is you, know.
Infallible those are the kind of things that you you
(03:02:59):
it's important to leave those.
Speaker 5 (03:03:00):
People but some of this other stuff is just human.
Speaker 2 (03:03:03):
Beings and you, KNOW i don't like how something's being
done AND i don't agree with you on, that so
we're gonna start our own. Thing so it's just the
flawed human beings dealing with a perfect. Message so stick
With jesus AND i wouldn't worry too much about the.
Speaker 5 (03:03:15):
Other, Okay so here is.
Speaker 2 (03:03:18):
Now if you see someone preaching something other than what scripture,
says now that's. Different you don't need to be in
a church where there's. Heresy he. Said i've enjoyed the
show for seventeen, years enjoyed The rick And Bubba, dace
thank you very, much glad you. Did and now in
the new era of The Rick Burgess. Show i'm loving
it as, well he, Said BUT i do have to
there's one thing THAT i must correct you.
Speaker 5 (03:03:38):
On.
Speaker 2 (03:03:38):
Rick, Okay i've heard you discussed before how annoying it
is when people who name their kids hunter will not
allow you to call the kid. Hunter they want you
to call them hunter. Hunter the name Is. Hunter SO
i have to call you out on your pronunciation of Gunners.
Will i've noticed lately you've been saying THE t too.
(03:03:59):
Prominent counter. You your wife is From. Gunnersville what are
you doing call? It you're From Calhoun. County you should
be Seeing. Guntersville you know WHAT i have to say To.
Asa he's, Right, YEAH i don't know why that when that.
STARTED i don't know Why stuntersville DID i start doing
that as a joke and that's became.
Speaker 5 (03:04:17):
Coola you're just opening your.
Speaker 2 (03:04:19):
Mouth you're the funy springs that, yeah so SAYS i.
Understand In alabama we speak, differently AND i don't have
a right to to correct you on, anything but this
doesn't feel like You and he's, Right, yeah as you're,
Right i'm sorry It's. GUNNERSVILLE i, Mean i've got family.
THERE i mean come, on THAT'S. I i will receive.
(03:04:41):
That GUNTERSVILLE i was listening to And hunter are going To.
Guntersville me And hunter are going To. Guntersville i'm so.
Sorry next, Thing i'll be doing the Saying albertville as
a as opposed to album Album Hey, Bird Hay. Bird
MATT i was listening To Glenn beck. Yesterday know y'all know.
Him he was urging us to get familiar with A
i because it's here to whether we like it or.
Not he was giving his listeners examples questions to ask
(03:05:06):
to help us get. Started one of them was, says
have it critique something that we've. WRITTEN i self published
A christmas novel twelve years, ago SO i asked one
of the it things to do a critique of, it
and it was scary and. Insightful you should do this
with something you've, written maybe this upcoming. BOOK i think
(03:05:27):
it would be great content for the. Show have a good.
One so he, Said Glenn, slowe what you start doing
stuff with it and Watch you need to be familiar
on how this could be used for a. Negative, well
one of the ones that we talked, About, matt that,
IS i mean crazy obvious right, now is watch out
WITH ai giving you an interpretation of The. Bible you
(03:05:50):
need to be real careful.
Speaker 5 (03:05:51):
That so you make a good.
Speaker 2 (03:05:52):
Point so but you're, Right glenn setting instead of you,
know dogging, it being against it all. That there may
be good reason for, that but it's here to. Stay
so you, better As jesus, said be as gentle as a.
Dove but you better be as savvy as a. Serpent you.
Better you better start learning ABOUT ai so it doesn't
do you so you can fight against what it may
(03:06:14):
be used.
Speaker 5 (03:06:15):
For it's a good.
Speaker 2 (03:06:16):
Point we'll be back more right than.
Speaker 1 (03:06:18):
This this is The Rick burgess.
Speaker 18 (03:06:22):
SHOW i was standing at the bottom out of ash
(03:06:43):
and broken. Bone only THEN i realize WHAT i needed all.
Speaker 2 (03:06:50):
Along but then on.
Speaker 4 (03:06:53):
Me find the. Truth who you know what it?
Speaker 9 (03:06:55):
Is he gets strong.
Speaker 2 (03:06:58):
Worth a new stuff From need To.
Speaker 4 (03:07:00):
Breathe oh you were always old and side.
Speaker 5 (03:07:05):
Story AND i didn't realize.
Speaker 2 (03:07:08):
This you were telling me that this is what part
of the soundtrack or this deal That amazon's.
Speaker 5 (03:07:13):
Doing, yes it's a part of the New need To
Breathe Amazon prime Series house Of. David they did a
song for that series and it's along With Tory kelly in.
It as.
Speaker 2 (03:07:27):
Well it's pretty good watch that over the, weekend sharing
and we're trying our best to just have a let's
chill this. Weekend either that or you, know we were
going to have to continue to talk To Scott dawson
about how much we needed to, rest and so Want
Scott dawson to know THAT i rested almost the entire.
Speaker 5 (03:07:42):
Weekend that's.
Speaker 2 (03:07:43):
GOOD i, was you need that a stretching over the
whole thing On, sunday BUT i didn't have didn't go,
anywhere didn't didn't travel. Anywhere sharon AND i stayed. Home
we saw our son who was in town for his
birthday On. Saturday had a bit of a long day On.
Friday but after, That sherry did find me completely sound,
asleep she, said which was. Hilarious she, said it looked
(03:08:04):
like you were making some attempt, to, uh to come
out of the shower and maybe still come find WHERE i,
was and you just didn't make, it she. Said she walked.
IN i was completely she, Said i'm talking about gone
to the world with every light in the room, on
just laying on the. Bed. YEAH i, said well you
want to get a, Division she, Goes, now, yeah believe,
(03:08:28):
me trust, Me i've worked all day on. That but,
anyway SO i WAS i was completely, gone well so
so rested all week in and SO i watched a
little bit of.
Speaker 5 (03:08:37):
This, greg give me fair, warning we've had a. Lot
we've had to not say a. Lot we've had a
few emails wanting the perspective from you on this if
you've seen. It well it.
Speaker 2 (03:08:47):
Came greg first came to me and asked, me have
you washed it? OUT i had not at the, time
but you somehow need in the, beginning somehow you knew
because they do take liberties with. SCRIPTURE i don't mean
anything more or anything like, that but you know there's
some artistic license they're taking with, it and you know
(03:09:08):
you have to fight and not the same THING i
did On The Chosen you have to kind of, fight, going,
hey that's not.
Speaker 7 (03:09:13):
Right you.
Speaker 5 (03:09:14):
Know i'm not saying they're changing it.
Speaker 2 (03:09:15):
NOW i haven't seen enough of Nowhere we're going because we're, yeah,
yeah there's still it, is just there's a new episode
coming out this week THAT i haven't.
Speaker 5 (03:09:24):
Seen i'm caught up.
Speaker 2 (03:09:25):
Though over the WEEKEND i caught up and watched what
is it five, episodes maybe four or, five AND i
found it to be much more entertaining than a lot
of the garbage out. There the casting on some of,
it you kind of, go MAYBE i would have you,
know some of it, is but you, know but it.
Speaker 5 (03:09:45):
Is it's accurate.
Speaker 2 (03:09:48):
Enough right now some of the things THAT i see
them kind of doing, artistically like they're creating. Storylines we're
never told in scripture Who david's mother. Is so there's
one thing About david THAT, i of course will give.
AWAY i won't SAY i won't because you KNOW i.
Will let's not pretend we know Who david's mother, is
because we. Don't the scripture. Doesn't scripture does not tell us. That,
(03:10:10):
now in The talmud many said there have found a
woman that was connected To. David but there's nothing in
scripture or in The talmud that tells us That david
was illegitimate and his other brothers. Weren't they're throwing that.
In there's nothing that says that he was the youngest
son Of. Jesse and it's possible in those times that
(03:10:32):
you know a lot of times they would take multiple,
wives so and you, know concubines and things like, that
the kings, would But jesse was just kind of a
there's no indication That jesse had. Multiples he may, have
but The bible didn't tell us. That and one of
their themes is that all these brothers have the same,
mama But david. Doesn't that's there's no indication of that in.
(03:10:54):
Scripture so, anyway so it's things like that you have
to kind of, watch you, know how about? This CAN
i tell all of? You it's already a good, story
the fact That david was the most unassuming choice to
be annointed By Samuel king because he was the shepherd
boy and was the, youngest And jesse doesn't even bring
him When samuel first shows up And samu's, Like i'm
(03:11:15):
not getting a. Reading, no he Thought eliab would be.
It he was, like, man that's All's and he realizes this, big,
strong fierce warrior was not the. Guy and he, finally you,
know you, know you, know the Historic he looks At
jesse and, says you got anybody? Else and he, said,
WELL i got the little one out there watching the.
Sheep we'll bring him. In and of course we know
that's the, guy but why we have to add that,
(03:11:37):
he you, know was considered to be outside Of jesse's.
WIFE i don't know why we had to add. That
it's already a good enough story without, That so that's not.
Accurate and then you saw something with him And. Goliath
it's not, accurate but it's, UH i haven't seen anything
That i'd start screaming, blasphemy you, know or anything like.
That now we may get, there we may get, there
(03:11:58):
BUT i found it to be very, inner ain'ting and well.
Done yeah, yeah.
Speaker 5 (03:12:01):
How far do you look? At it is high.
Speaker 2 (03:12:04):
BUDGET i might as well start. Over, yeah you just
saw a little bit of the first. One, yeah, well you,
know greg is we all have to do they time
hop with. Us, oh we're going time, hop we're going
time hot.
Speaker 5 (03:12:13):
ALIAS i saw this. Part he's rather.
Speaker 2 (03:12:17):
Large look At goliath and Where goliath came from a
little bit of a step out. There, okay then now
for them or what well that may. Be but but
they're acting like we know, that and like they went
searching for him to bring him in as a. RINGER i,
mean he's there with. HIM i don't know where he came,
from but you know it's but, again that's all, right
(03:12:39):
so but so so as of right, now you what
you've watched. You you're, like, hey it's well you. Did
you just got to know what you're getting. Into you
got to know that they've taken some.
Speaker 5 (03:12:49):
Liberties. Yeah, uh and and you.
Speaker 2 (03:12:51):
You but there's, enough there's enough truth in there THAT
i found it to be. Entertaining, NOW i tell, YOU
i like a lot better than some other garbage out. There,
NOW i may get to the point WHERE i, Go,
okay NOW i can't do, this But i'm. NOT i,
MEAN i haven't seen all of. It i've just seen
from What i've, seen so understand that there could be
an episode coming That i'm, like, oh by the, way,
Cancel but BUT i haven't seen that.
Speaker 4 (03:13:11):
Yet so new episodes are released Weekly thursdays On Prime.
Video the season finale Is april.
Speaker 2 (03:13:17):
Third The david's story is. Fascinating, no it's a. Dandy,
yes it's a good, one and there's a lot going on.
There of, Course, saul you need to let it, go,
Buddy samuels already told you you messed.
Speaker 5 (03:13:30):
Up you gotta let it. Go of, course When.
Speaker 2 (03:13:33):
Samuel samuel shows, up he does resolve all the. Issues
and the guy Playing samuel was really, cool good casting.
There he's a very intriguing character in this and he's
not to be messed, with by the, way, okay by the,
WAY i, WOULD i would go ahead and Leave god's profit.
Alone we don't mess With, samuel, right do not do
(03:13:57):
not Take god's profit and mess with. Him and if
he says, SOMETHING i do, it AND i do it
exactly the way he. Said don't make up your own
version of.
Speaker 7 (03:14:07):
It.
Speaker 4 (03:14:08):
Uh top of the.
Speaker 2 (03:14:10):
Hour thanks for being with, us.
Speaker 5 (03:14:14):
Bow now now now.
Speaker 2 (03:14:17):
Yeah yeah The Amalekit king. Wow. Uh top of the.
Speaker 1 (03:14:23):
Hour this is The Rick Burgess. Show
