Speedy Greg Adler all here, we've got a lot to do,
Yes we do. I mean this thing's just action packed
a mind just sit here rubbing my head so much.
We got out in front of us, so we got
to get done. So a lot of action today. Saint

(03:00):
Rick is ready. You know yesterday I just start throwing
cash everywhere. You got a little out of hand. It
just got out of hand yesterday. Now, a lot of opportunities.
Not everybody won, but there was a lot of chances.
Alut though also today Adler doesn't know yet, does he.

Speaker 6 (03:18):
You know every listener matters, every one of them.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, pretty much own. You got a package to the show. Okay,
Well it's good and bad news for you. Okay, it's
part of our team. Good news for you individually. Kind
of bad news for the team.

Speaker 6 (03:36):
Yeah. What you don't like you don't like to get
things like this. I mean, we don't want anybody up.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
That's what we lost a listener so so mad. They
sent their large campouse shirt back. Good news is you
have a new campout shirt. Now nobody else can wear large.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
I mean, I know you probably if it's a big medium,
it's really more you.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
What is it?

Speaker 8 (03:55):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Nothing to do with what.

Speaker 6 (03:57):
You got a shirt the rest of us? Yeah yeah, yeah,
but you may be part of it, all right, And
it's a large Okay, it's lost a listener though, that's
how we got this shirt. They sent the shirt back.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Sounds like a fair trade to fine trade. I'm fine
with that trade.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Okay, I'll get I'll leave the shirt with you. Okay,
since you since we may be going to campus this weekend.

Speaker 6 (04:22):
I hate that too.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
I know. I hate to lose a listener, I really do.
And yeah, well here, here's here's the thing I wasn't.
I was thankful they didn't ask for a refund, they
just sent the shirt back. But good?

Speaker 9 (04:34):
Was it?

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Free shirt? What's the problem here? I don't understand.

Speaker 6 (04:37):
Well, guys, and and I'm not saying this is okay.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
This is one of those things where sometimes something's truthful,
but that doesn't mean it's okay.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
It's just the truth. And who knows if we remember
it right right? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Apparently I do, Apparently I vaguely remember it. Apparently there
was a contest, and I don't know. I've never noticed
this that some people say we tend to be rough
on callers and with that rough good fun. Yeah, and
it's a rough you know. It's like, have you ever
been invited there? Have you ever been invited into the
group and you think you want to hang with the group.

(05:09):
You had to make this adjustment. Now you're fine, now, yeah, good,
But you remember making that adjustment when you first started
hanging out with us, and you had to tell Greg
and me that you didn't grow up like that, right,
and there were things you had to get used to, right. Yeah,
now you're just as rough as mean as inybody in here.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
That's not true.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Oh yeah, I think he's the nice one. I'll be honest.
By the way, that's a weak conference if my memory
is correct, and it's not, but if it is, I
think he may have been the first one to start
through the first rock in this incident.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
I don't know what y'all are talking about. Frustrated.

Speaker 10 (05:45):
I believe I believe it was either him or me
because I'm very sensitive things take you sure are because
we've been doing this. We haven't this this is the
first year of the Rick Burgess Show, but we we
ain't new to this. No, and and there you know,
and and some times you can take too long to
give an answer. And if it's three four, five, six,
I mean, if it gets on in there, it's like, okay,

(06:07):
what are you doing Greg this?

Speaker 3 (06:08):
You know?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Honestly, if I remember it, then I may not, I think,
and this is a weird statement. You and I may
have been fine.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
No, No, I don't think said one thing.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Don't you do that?

Speaker 11 (06:19):
I think it was.

Speaker 10 (06:23):
No, No, no, I think I might have mentioned it
along with everybody. I mean, just look how Adler's treating
mister Chin. You kind of understand where he's at first.
You put mister Chin over there, he's freezing raising by
the window.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
You don't even pay attention. He's on the floor like
he's like he's log. He's green because there's so much
the desk feed him every day. How about just that
fish got old?

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Oh, I feed him every single day.

Speaker 6 (06:49):
He thought he would be long on.

Speaker 9 (06:51):
You need to give that.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
You need to give it away so somebody can give
it to their kids as a Christmas. There's two three
things that would help sad life if he was honest
about it. He's ready for his dogs and fish going in. Yeah, guys,
they've all had fruitful lives. Just not like they're like puppies.
They're not our guppies.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Let's not put my pets in the grave.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
I wish for that.

Speaker 10 (07:09):
So anyway, you're not say I'm out of this controversy
because oh, you're right, you're the culprit.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
You act this.

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Now.

Speaker 10 (07:19):
Look, we used to always say hey, three seconds before
you give an answer. I mean, for some reason, right,
I didn't I don't like. I don't think I was
mean toyoy the rules and we were also having just fun.
Bottom lines, it never personal.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
It would have been no different if if I was
trying to win, and y'all see grapes trying to win
a contest and he's cheaping.

Speaker 6 (07:42):
So here's the thing.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Some people, you can you can hang out and people
say things about you that we say about each other
and we laugh at off. Some people get in the
middle of all this and they're like, I got to
be honest with you. That kind of hurt my feelings. Well,
there was never intent.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
It was not our intent. We never intend to break that.

Speaker 10 (07:59):
I mean, I'm I'm I missed some shots to win
people cash money yesterday in here, and.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Y'all were pretty mad at me.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
You missed bad.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
I were pretty brutal on me, right, But what if
you didn't? If you were, I'm just I'm just asking
us to examine ourselves and and hey out there, y'all
help us. Are we are?

Speaker 6 (08:16):
We just do some of y'all that like you're you're
not you don't work here? I think in the group.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Do we upset some of y'all and we start hacking
on you a little bit and cutting up a little bit.
It's just all in good fun. We don't we don't
mean any harm. No, how about this.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
I don't blame you trying to get an edge, even
if you weren't cheating.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Just be better.

Speaker 6 (08:35):
Ask what he's mad about.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Maybe his Internet was slow? All right, guys, it's buffer,
you know.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
Let me tell you. Just be a little better.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
I'll tell you this. I've got a package over there
with a shirt sent back in it, and I'm just
telling you that and a.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
Letter this I do, and a letter that's kind of scathing,
and I want to tell you this. I hate that
I do too.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
Man, it was was it a man or a woman?

Speaker 6 (08:53):
It was a mom on behalf of a son.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
Oh, I don't do well with women.

Speaker 6 (08:56):
Women don't like me.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
That makes this all makes sense now.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
I thought that was the elderly.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
No elderly like me.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Elderly liked me.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
I talked to an old lady in home Deepot for
like fifteen minutes and from the Christmas lights two days ago.
So wow, old people love me. Initially scared by me, man,
then they're like, oh wow, he's not gonna rob me.
What a nice young man.

Speaker 6 (09:16):
I know what you are old you do get you
know what you are.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
You're It's like back in the seventies when somebody in
the sixties, late sixties into the seventies, I met a hippie.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
He was actually a good fellow.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Right, that's that.

Speaker 5 (09:27):
It's that happens to me every day.

Speaker 6 (09:28):
Yeah, look at Pennsylvania.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Look it was the segment.

Speaker 6 (09:33):
Yes again it is.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
All right.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
Yeah, somebody from Pennsylvania's already sniffed it.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Yeah, so it was his mom to sent it back.

Speaker 6 (09:42):
For some reason, was thinking it was his dad. So
it was his mom. I think it was his mom. Okay,
I'll go read letter again. Yeah. Yeah, and that's more.
And I really called you out. I think if it's
his dadd he threw him suck it up. But I
didn't know what you're possible. I hate that man.

Speaker 1 (09:56):

All right, yesterday, listen to this. We got to say congratulations.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Okay, day three yesterday, Oh I guy, the one whole thing,
the Christmas Cash countdown.

Speaker 6 (12:20):
Let me tell you.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Charlie West said, let me tell you something I've been ready.
Charlie paid attention. He didn't even hesitate. Do you remember
months before the year ended, I said, now look, if
you're gonna win this Christmas cash, a lot of it's
gonna be tied to how much you know about the show.
Show you I'm telling about this year. You got to
know about what we've done this year.

Speaker 11 (12:37):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (12:38):
And boy, was Charlie ready to go.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
He rode through the three questions on know the show
won five hundred and ninety nine dollars and he was
confident the whole confident the whole way, he said, I
ain't slowing that at one fifty, I didn't have to
think about it. Also, our text winner yesterday he Helen Dyer. So, uh,
six hundred and ninety nine dollars went out yesterday and
they joined all the other winners from day one and
two today another opportunity for that. As a matter of fact,

(13:02):
I'm going to guys, I'm going bold right now.

Speaker 6 (13:07):
I'm going bold. All right, I'm gonna go ahead and
announce the text word. Go ahead.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
How you like that?

Speaker 6 (13:14):
Does that bother anybody? Am I gonna send the shirt back?
When I do that?

Speaker 12 (13:17):
I like it?

Speaker 6 (13:18):
Huh, that's good? Is that gonna be That's gonna be
a new word.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
That's gonna be our new thing. You don't like it,
send your shirt back? All right? Here we go Text Nation.
Are you ready? The number has not changed? You still
have the same number, eight eight eight six big vox.
You know going this soon in the show. I'll be
really excited to see how it facts the numbers today.

Speaker 6 (13:42):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yeah, because I frankly, I have been shocked how many
people not listening on the archive to this part of
the show. I'm shocked how many people hear it live. Yeah,
because in real time when this thing's being done live
folks early.

Speaker 6 (13:57):
Early, yeah, gets started early. Hey, son's not coming up
for a while.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
That's when the sun came up this morning. So here
we go. Here is the word today, and somebody will
be drawn randomly out of all who text it and
win one hundred dollars today of old Saint Rix Christmas cash.

Speaker 6 (14:16):
Let's go here it is. The word is Jack j
A c K.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I'm gonna win some jack. I'm trying to win some
Jack j A c K texting. Now, are y'all feeling
like y'all want me to be merciful to announce it again?
I just want to go one time. Well you can
do it one time or now and again in three
I don't know what's the number. The number is eight
eight eight six two four four eight six nine at

(14:43):
eight eight six big vaus can't win a.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Six big fox cent, No buddy, Oh, I can't win.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
No, No done. Jack J A c K.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
I'm going for three hundred today. There you go, all right?
So do we want to get into Michigan?

Speaker 10 (15:02):
God, yeah, we do have breaking news on that, all right.
So let's I mean like just like within the last
couple of minutes, start with the original stories.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Go right to the We've already got somebody because somebody
right now already replaced him. Somebody right now is saying
they have no idea what we're talking about. So do
we start with Do we start with him?

Speaker 6 (15:20):
No, Lane Kiffin to Michigan, he's already left l s U. So, Michigan,
you got some problems. You got you you fired your coach?

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Yeah, is it? Hey? Says name Sharon Moore, Sharone Moore,
shocking dismissal. He's been put in jail. Yeah, yeah, add
that to it. I lose my job.

Speaker 6 (15:42):
Then I get arrested.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
All right, so we got to arrested?

Speaker 6 (15:45):
Are just detained? I don't know what it was. Well,
he was booked, it was, Yes, he's been booked. He's
currently in jail right on assault. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
So let's figure all this out. I tied all this
together somehow. Well, let's see if we can work it out. So,
first of all, miss fires Sharon Moore. They told us
that after the school's athletic director dismissed him for having
an inappropriate relationship with a staffer, which means it's against
their roads. You can't be especially being a married man

(16:16):
with three kids. You can't have something on the side,
especially somebody owned staff. Okay, so he's thirty nine years old.
But then we found out that he has been put
in jail. Now that's where it gets a little odd.
They responded to a home as part of an assault investigation.

(16:37):
If they responded by going to a home, okay, doesn't
say his home that's there, Okay, good boy, It says
a home. Police said a suspect was taken into custody,
that the incident does not appear to be random in nature,
and they have him in jail pending review of the charges.
So it sounds like the head football coach at Michigan.

(17:02):
What's not up for debate is the allegation that he
was having an inappropriate relationship on the side with a staffer.
They say the university says, this conduct constitutes a clear
violation of the policy. By the way, for those of
you at home are wondering how he's going to be
financially the rest of his life. This means they don't
have to pay you, no, because they fired you for calls.

(17:25):
If all of this sticks going forward, he'll have his day,
I'm sure, but something and should right of course, something
tied to this led to some sort of assault charge. Yeah,
that's yeah, And that's the part we don't know what
that is. When when did the assault occur? And was

(17:45):
it at the facility?

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Was it?

Speaker 2 (17:47):
And Rick, when what did you say? They said it
was not And here's the word. Here's exactly how it's worded.
The Pittsfield Police, but I guess that's the community said
they responded to a home as part of an assault investigation.
But it could be come here, I was assaulted by
this man. I want to give my story right, and

(18:09):
then they went and arrested him somewhere else. It just
says they responded to a home on an assault charge
and now he is in jail, so they think he's
the one who was part of the assaults.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
I'm seeing some reports that there was an all coaches
meeting that was held without him. He caught wind of
this and he starts going berserve.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
That's what we greg.

Speaker 10 (18:35):
That's what we thought, Hey, you got to leave the
facility and he started fighting his way.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Well, well, he may have.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Gone to a This is the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Choices Choices choices. We make them every day, and I
know sometimes when it comes to the products that we use,
of the services we need, we think, well, I don't
have a choice. I'm having to support some company that
it couldn't be more woke, could couldn't be more you know,
against everything I love. I don't know why I keep

(19:10):
sending money to these people. Well, can I tell you
when it comes to your your your cell phone service,
there there is a choice.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
They're really I know you don't. You may not have
heard of it. Patriot Mobile is that choice.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Now stop. I know what a lot of you are saying. Birds,
You're gonna try to guilt me into going with some
company that believes what I believe, but the service is
not gonna be as good. No, this is the good news.
Most cell phone providers don't care about you. They just
want the money. Patriot Mobile is different. For over twelve years,
they've still with the Americans who believe in faith, family,
and freedom, contributing millions of dollars to Christian conservative causes.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
Okay, Birds, there you are again. Now listen. Best part
is you don't have to sacrifice quality or service.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
You don't.

Speaker 6 (19:51):
Patriot Mobile offers premium access to all three major US networks.

part of a switch that's complicated, So this one's not

Hope you caught it. We move it around different parts
of the show every day.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
You got to be listening.

Speaker 6 (21:17):
I do want to point you to, uh, well, the.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Irony on this being the next partner of ours, simply
Safe dot com slash big Box. I mean, you never
know when an intruder might be coming after you. Uh,
maybe just somebody who's out there.

Speaker 14 (21:34):
Here we go.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
This is that time of year, believe it or not,
where the sometimes the dark they get it, they get
they get even more wicked than ever.

Speaker 9 (21:41):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
And you know the darkness is out there even while
we're all talking about when the light came to the world.

Speaker 15 (21:46):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
And the beautiful thing is to just be prepared. I
wish we didn't have to have simply Safe dot com
slash big Box.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
I really do.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
I wish.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
I wish that was not something. I wish everybody was
great and everybody was wonderful. Uh, but we're in a
falling creation and that's just not the case. Now here's
the beauty. The old traditional security systems really and it's
better than nothing, but they were reactive, meaning, oh somebody's
broke into your home, we're setting.

Speaker 6 (22:10):
Off alarms, blah blah blah.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Well, but modern technology and simply Safe dot Com slash
Big Boxes ahead of everybody in the industry. AI powered
cameras can watch the property in real time and if
an intruder comes onto the property, then they it can
start a siren. It gets a human who's monitoring the
property on the camera, they see the intruder, they can

(22:36):
engage with the intruder. We have law enforcement on the way.
You know, everything needs to be done. Siren's going off.
So it's one thing to respond to a break in.
Certainly that's better than nothing, but boy, it's quite another
to keep the break in from ever happening. To be
proactive and simply safe dot Com slash big Box they
have the technology, so you can get it at fifty

(22:58):
percent off right now, new system go to Simplysafe dot
Com slash Big Vox for that fifty percent off, or
you can go to Rick Burgess Show dot com under
the sponsors. All Right, so we're following this very very
unfortunate story involving head coach Sharon Moore, now fired from Michigan.

(23:19):
So I think we won't go into things that our speculation.
We'll just go into what seems to be pretty solid,
and that is that there was an inappropriate relationship. Many
people said it was not a very well kept secret
that he had someone on the side. It is a
staffer of some kind. And it appears that when this
was now obviously going to be made public, Coach Moore's

(23:44):
reaction to that was criminal and even threatening to harm himself. Right.
And then they were when he goes to the person's
house because I guess the person's now telling everyone going
public with what's been going on. Uh, And he threatened

(24:07):
to harm himself at that residence, correct, and then personally
and the and the assistant and personally harmed the person. Yeah,
this is allegedly what's being Okay, I got you all right,
So that, yeah, it was. It was just an awful situation.
And his wife helped authorities locate him too, for his

(24:29):
own protection.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
Is why you don't share your location with your wife,
right guys?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (24:35):
Oh wow, tonight. Just that's the biggest two things so far.

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Yeah. And so apparently the wife now became concerned that
he was a threat to himself and others, and she
could see where he was I guess on something that
life three sixty or just the phone locator. Yeah, and
she sent authorities to where he was and they took
him into custody. Yeah, and is that pretty accurate, right? Yeah?

Speaker 10 (24:58):
And the wife knew but because of what he actually
told her that he was going to do so, which
is this is just just devastating to him, his family,
to everybody involved. And you know, so just set that
aside and push it over here which is the most important.
And then you go, wow, So Michigan, Michigan football.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
On the top jobs it is and that is a
lot of money.

Speaker 10 (25:24):
And now they've they've named their interim. They're supposed to
be playing Texas and in the Bowl, so they'll he'll
coach that. And now they're without a head coach. And
you have had you've had so many coaches land where
they're going to be. But this, this job, this job
is so prominent that it'll pull from the NFL. So
there is no telling who will be named it.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Welcome back far Ball.

Speaker 6 (25:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (25:47):
Well, you guys remember when he was that inn, when
he was the interim coach, he had that big win
and he cried and he was like horb Blake and
love you man on the broadcast today, aren't you know
it was the same guy. It's the same guy.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
I remember that yes, losing it bad. See they should
have fired him then, Greg. Okay, guys, what's so wasteful?

Speaker 5 (26:12):
He crying so much?

Speaker 6 (26:14):
Yeah, that's hey, Yeah, we'll be back.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Well you head coach, as qualk Greg, So coach Morrison
was in the shirt back okay.

Speaker 10 (26:24):
Then, sir, and he kind of worked his way up.
He was the tight ends coach in twenty eighteen twenty twenty.
Uh and he was offensive line coach for two years,
an offensive coordinator at twenty twenty three, then took over
the head coach job when Jim Harborough left for the
Chargers and signed him a good deal. Uh you know,

(26:44):
almost thirty million for for five years. All right, So
he's getting six six million a year. Okay, Yeah, it's
like a little less, but but twenty eight or something
like that million, it's close to thirty Okay, so let's.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
Say easy, he's he's got more a little more than
five million dollars a year.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
In coaching Michigan, the big house all that, you know,
the m the whole thing. But go big blue, okay.
So so and look he's thirty nine, so he's he's
not sixty one, even though I probably think we're close
to the same age.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
But here he goes again like you did with Tayler. Heck, yeah,
sorry about that.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
And by the way, Taylor won't am I what I
think you figured it out, but go ahead, what I'm
just kidding, go ahead. But anyways, it was just a
common mistake. I see myself as younger than I am.
I've told you all that, Yeah, and working here that
we all do. Yeah, when you work here, you certainly
don't feel like you're sixty one by the way we
all behave. But anyway, so but I will say this

(27:44):
that I am sixty one. You are and this is
that this is that thing again that we've talked about.
We actually even did a devotional about this a couple
of years ago that I had a hard time selling
the team on because they're like, nobody's going to want
to read this, but I but I know in my
own life that it was a truth.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
It was difficult, but it was hard and it was
it was a devotional.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
It's still available called sin always matters because I think
sometimes we get into the witch is wonderful, man. I'm
thankful of the grace and the mercy that's available to
all of us, and even here on earth.

Speaker 6 (28:18):
You know, just let's take this for instance.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
So I'm making over five million dollars a year, I've
got a wife and three kids. I'm the coach of Michigan,
and I make a decision, okay, to go outside of
that and to do something that is a moral and sinful. Okay,
and you go, you know, hopefully, and I agree, he

(28:41):
can work this out. I hope would with the one
and only living God, with his wife and his children.
I certainly hope that for him. I hope he gets everything.
I hope he gets his life together. But that decision,
there's no undoing that. It costs him the job with
no money, by the way, because he's fired for calls.

(29:02):
So the earthly repercussions for what that decision is. And
think about what the decision was, you know, just just
just just in the moment, some sort of gratification of
a fleshly desire, which we all understand. Look at all
that's going to cost, not hopefully not eternally, because hopefully

(29:25):
he'll get that right. But the mess that sin makes
on earth sometimes stays there forever. And that's why sin
always matters, and that's why it's such a big deal.
And let's all just learn and remember that, you know,
try to try to do the thing like we always
laugh about it because I cannot stand to work out.

(29:47):
I just I just I've just never loved it. Okay,
But I know it's necessary and I'm trying to do
better and I'm glad when I do it. But when
I start thinking about it, I try to see myself
beyond when it's over and the benefits of it. And
I'm learning in my life to do that when it
involves sin where you go? All right, When I was
young and dumb, I didn't. I didn't do this, But

(30:09):
I'm going to start doing this because of some wisdom
of life. I'm going to see myself now beyond this
decision and the mess it's going to cause.

Speaker 6 (30:19):
So I don't just live in the now.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
I'm looking beyond the destruction of this stupid decision. And
you know what, I don't think it's worth it because
I can see because what happens is and I know
I was like this when I was young and stupid.
Is a lot of times I would just look in
the moment. I didn't look beyond the moment. And right now,
I promise you that Coach Moore wishes he could go

(30:42):
back and change what he's done and so much, to
the point he feels so hopeless that he was willing
to take his own life right allegedly.

Speaker 5 (30:52):
Still kill destroy. There's the list right there, still kill destroy,
Think about later. I always think about that, getting heated
with my kids. Think about later. You're gonna feel bad
about getting heated with your kids. Be calm, and you're
teaching them to be calm. Think about later. It's not
what you want right now. Think about what you want
right now versus what you actually truly want. You want

(31:14):
a happy, fulfilled life, maybe a marriage, a family, and
you know, right now you might want something with your flesh,
but what do you truly want?

Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yeah, well, think about it right now. It goes back
to how the flesh is never satisfied. You have a wife,
you have children, you have the head coaching job at Michigan,
and you know what he said, that's not enough. Yeah, man,
I'm not there, I'm not I'm not at base, I'm
not I'm not completely satisfied.

Speaker 10 (31:44):
And then and then you spend nights at the office
the football facility and start talking to an assistant. And
then instead of just playing and getting out of there.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
Oh yeah, yes, you gotta run and the next thing,
you know, your mugshots Oliver social media.

Speaker 6 (32:01):
Yeah yeah, cal you'll be right man.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Strange Encounters, the new

(32:31):
podcast from Rick Burgess, get it no wherever you get podcasts.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Coming up this weekend, brand new episode. The latest one,
of course, was involving the six seventh thing. Boy, that
thing is taken off like a rocket. That so if
you haven't seen that episode or listened to it, you can.
Coming up this weekend a couple of things that you know,
we're staying kind of topical because we we this is

(32:58):
the twenty second episode. We kind of laid the foundation.
If you haven't gone back, I had some email me yesterday.
That's back on episode one. But which is fine, that's
no problem. A lot of you have said, hey, this
topical stuff that we're trying to maneuver through. Man, if
you guys could take that on, we will when we can,
and we'll get as much information as we can. Today

(33:19):
we're recording episode twenty two. We are going to talk
about Kirk Cameron and his son their podcast. Some people
concerned theologically that Kirk Cameron may be drifting a little bit,
but watched it in its entirety and we'll kind of
unpack what he's talking about. And it involves a topic

(33:39):
that no one really enjoys discussing, but it fits the podcast,
and that is hell what happens to people that reject
redemption in Christ?

Speaker 6 (33:50):
And we'll discuss that.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Also.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
A lot of you said, hey, look into this sphere
Zach Brown thing this weird like he's taken us into
the underworld or whatever.

Speaker 6 (34:00):
Well what is all this about?

Speaker 2 (34:01):
So we'll we'll talk about that too, and maybe take
a few letters from the audience as we as we
try to do at least most of the episodes, and
you can send those to us always Rick at Burgessmanistries
dot com. So should be another action packed episode coming
up this weekend. Speaking of this weekend deer hunting, it's

(34:25):
it's right, It's got me right now, ye boy does it?

Speaker 6 (34:28):
It does? It's got me in. I had had an
interesting moment.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
It led to Sherry had to take some had she
had to take an initiative on it because you know,
I can see the camera's constantly updating me on what's
going on at camp House and we're hopefully all going
to be able to hunt a little bit this weekend.

Speaker 6 (34:49):
And so and you and I speed you have what
we've tried to get after it.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
We can't get it out fired up, but we've done
all we can do and try to cover the place
with two people. But so it is and real frustrating.
But anyway, so that's why they call it hunting, Rick,
So I was you know, you got to keep dating.
We give that advice to married couples all the time. Now,

(35:15):
my how long you've been married. You got to keep dating.
So I noticed I was here at the office. By
the way, the archive of we ended the series on
job yesterday, so Job forty two. That archive is available
today if you haven't caught it. And boy, that ending
is really really something, and it was. It was a
great day of reflection for all of us in the room.

(35:35):
So if you haven't got that yet, go go pick
it up. So so I'm I'm noticing. You know how
you get you can get an alert that my wife
has got a reservation at one of our favorite restaurants.
And of course, you know we're officially older people now,
which means you know, our reservation is like four point fifteen,
you know. And and so I'm like, okay, good, I said,

(35:56):
so we're going to eat and she's like, yep, yep,
let's go out to eat one of our favorit places.

Speaker 6 (36:00):
I think that's great, that's great, that's great.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Of course, I'm sleepy and and I'm a little tired
when I get home, and and she's in there, you know,
getting all dolled up and just so beautiful. And so
we're getting ready to head to the restaurant and she said,
and uh, your phone's going over there on the charger.
There's no ded for your phone. We have my phone.

(36:22):
I'm like kind of kind of want to carry my phone.
And she's like, now, because you're gonna look at them
game pictures. And she goes, I'm not going to a
restaurant on the date. And you keep getting updates and
tell me what's going on with the deer. And I
was like, I mean, what if somebody needs to get
in touch with me? She goes, well, them, if they
can't find you, they'll eventually contact me if it's something important.

(36:44):
And I thought, but you don't. You don't have MOLT
remote on your phone, and and she's like, well, now
I don't. I don't And I was like, so there's
no way for herd update you on how it's going.
So I was told to leave my phone on the date.
Couldn't take it?

Speaker 6 (37:00):
Really? How hard was that? That was very difficult?

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Was it nice too?

Speaker 3 (37:02):
Though?

Speaker 2 (37:03):
In the same time At the same time, well, I
felt free for a moment. But I didn't like Like,
when she went to the bathroom, I thought, well, this
is when i'd be checking the camera. Yeah, I won't
do it like wise she can see me. But I
mean if she gets something goes to the bathroom, Yeah,
this was a perfect I didn't even know what to
do as you went to the bathroom, I didn't know
what to do with myself. I even started looking around
if anybody else. I mean, and there's a moment where

(37:23):
I thought, Rick, you can't get an update on deer
right now.

Speaker 6 (37:26):
You can't.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
You can't. But for a minute you almost start trying
stuff like you asked one of the waiters or something,
you get mule, you know, And and of course they
can because it's not your.

Speaker 6 (37:35):
Camera, not like you got your phone leaned up on
the centerpiece watching the game or anything. Right, that's yeah,
But I think she's I think she saw that as
a version of that, you know. She goes.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
No, no, she goes, I've actually seen I said no, no, no,
but yes, yes, yes, she goes, I've seen you stretch
yousic could take your phone where I can't see it,
And she goes, you'll even put it over there on
like we're if we're sitting some of this bench, you'll
put in that bench next to you. And she goes,
and I can't see it on the other side of
the table if I'm on the bench side. Yeah, you

(38:06):
know what I mean. And she goes, and all of
a sudden, I'll sit there and I'll see you looking down.
You'll just go over and start You'll you'll press that out.
And I said, baby, I mean, how am I gonna
tell the guys what the deer are doing? She goes,
I think I think just the couple of hours will
be at the restaurant. I don't think there'll be any
breaking deer news day. Of course, that's the four fifteen
reservation that's right in the middle of it, and that's

(38:28):
that afternoon.

Speaker 10 (38:30):
When you walked in the door, did you go straight
to your phone or act like you didn't care and
then ease over straight to it.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Could I could? I couldn't stop, you know what I mean.
I mean she was still talking about you know what
we enjoyed what we went. We went with the fish
and it was great and all this and she as
she's talking to me, I'm going straight to the charger
and straight to the app. Well, I gotta know, Hm,
I didn't see him. Yeah, it's okay, you didn't need

(38:56):
your phone.

Speaker 12 (38:57):
I know.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
The couple is nothing. There's there's a, there's a there's
a couple of them were really after. I didn't see
any of the hit lists. Now, I didn't see the
hit list. I mean, there was stayless some stuff going on.
It was interesting, but it wasn't. It wasn't what I
was looking at. He's not gonna he's not gonna be
there every hour every day.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
I know.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
I'm just checking okay. I mean when I start thinking
about strategy this weekend, I mean, she she made a
good point. She goes, so you need to make strategy
strategy on Wednesday. I said, well, you know that you
got to figure the trends out.

Speaker 6 (39:25):
Please check in a little check in.

Speaker 2 (39:27):
How about how about? And I give her I'm so
grateful for her. She actually was up with me today,
which doesn't happen a lot, but it happened today, and
and we, you know, pray together. And she actually said,
and I think that I think the prayer was a
kind prayer on my behalf. But I wonder if it
isn't her just praying to the Lord Lord, please give

(39:49):
my husband a good hunting weekend. I hope they have
a great I know how much he loves this. I
hope they have a good experience in the outdoors. I
think that's her almost praying that that something will happen
where I won't want to do it anymore, you know
what I mean, like, please let him get the hit list, please,
you know, let something happen, you know, so that he
will stop obsessing over this. I don't feel like I'm

(40:10):
obsessing over planning. Is I mean getting information? I mean
making good decisions? Gray Okay felt weird when she went
to That was the only time when she went to
the bathroom. When she went to the bathroom, that's when
he got at it. I know what you're saying, you
want to do in my hands.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
This is the Rick Burgess show. You better listen up,
you know, like.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
All you gotta.

Speaker 13 (40:51):
Find the voice of reason in an unreasonable world.

Speaker 1 (41:00):
The Rick Burgess Show back Here we go.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
It is a brand new hour. We should do thank
you for being with us today. I'm Eric, Speedy, Gregg
and Adler are all here and we thank you for
being with us as we're ready to go on another
journey this hour. Okay, if you did not catch last hour,

(41:34):
you've missed the word that you're supposed to text day
today for one hundred dollars. Also coming up know the
show three questions with your shot at five hundred and
ninety nine dollars of Christmas cat all that happening today
on the program. So if you got the word to text,
just text it and you could be our latest winner

(41:57):
like yesterday Helen Dyer won the one dollar.

Speaker 6 (42:02):
So Speedy, one thing I did notice. One thing I
did notice.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
Okay, So when I got home from our date and
I went directed to the phone, you know, just to
be sure for you, to make sure every thing's all right.

Speaker 6 (42:14):
Yeah, I'll check the cameras.

Speaker 2 (42:18):
I saw a text from you to the show, and
I looked at sher and I said, I see this
is exactly what I was worried about.

Speaker 6 (42:25):
Yeah, I said, didn't have your phone.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
I said, Speedy's in the middle of a project and
he probably needed my help. He couldn't you get in
touch with me? Boy, you might have been there for me, real,
I said, he was over working on something. He might
have I said, I've got my toolbox and everything, but
he couldn't get in touch with me because I didn't
have my phone. Where are your handy? Right, you're the
hand you come by and helped you on the way.
You're the hand he went on the staff. Baby, let
me drop you and I gotta go over and help Speedy.

(42:47):
We we were working on a trash disposal. Yeah, how
about the old garbage disposal?

Speaker 6 (42:52):
So what did you do?

Speaker 10 (42:53):
Terry's parents needed their disposal out and a new one
put in. So they ordered the new one. Uh, kind
of a newer model, but the same model of what
was in there. And and so yesterday was the day.
How about you just can't get on You can't get
comfortable underneath a sink.

Speaker 1 (43:15):
There's no way.

Speaker 2 (43:16):
I mean, you butt all up in the air. You're
laying on your bike.

Speaker 5 (43:18):
You can't see the tabinatry is so sharpened. Yeah, everything's
so sharp against your body and.

Speaker 10 (43:23):
Oh yeah, try being bald and your skin, your head, Yeah,
you're bleedings.

Speaker 6 (43:30):
The times I've been working, I've been working on sinks.

Speaker 15 (43:33):
Man.

Speaker 2 (43:34):
You ain't never worked on the sink you have. You've
got to clear everything out in there. You got my shoulders,
the wid it's hard to get me under there?

Speaker 15 (43:41):
What is it?

Speaker 6 (43:41):
What I got my adjustable wrench with me.

Speaker 10 (43:45):
He's just he's just saying words made him so so.
But yesterday was the day, and and so I met
Terry over at their house. And she's always really good
because we're pretty team. I think, Uh, she'll read directions
and and stand over me and and then I'll do

(44:06):
the work.

Speaker 16 (44:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
If you just joined us speedy, right, well, I don't
need directions for that. Uh but uh, you know you
can go to you but any feedback is health. Oh yeah, sure,
but I think you know. But uh, there's some steps
you need to make our take. I should say number one,
you know, you make sure that the breaker it's turned off,

(44:29):
you know for that area, and then you get under there,
and and theirs was so old it was set up
different and garbage disposal, Yeah, I don't have one of those.
You don't okay, uh, well they had they had been
in this house a couple of years and the one
I guess that that that that was in there and
installed never has worked. And so she, uh, she had

(44:50):
finally I guess got one and asked if we could
come over, and and I'm like, well, yeah we can.
Now this is the first one I've ever done though,
taken out put in. So you know, where do you
go when you need help if you're not available Rick,
And that's YouTube? So you just go to YouTube. You
just you just searched the model and and and then
you know installation the game. So then people are just

(45:11):
so kind that they record themselves doing it and like, hey,
this is the mistakes I made. Don't do this kind
of funny. One of the ones that I went to,
she got in an argument with his wife. He's like,
see what I have to put up with?

Speaker 10 (45:22):
What was pretty funny she was trying to So we
go through the steps, you know, but even when you
they had talked about the smell of the old one.
They had talked about the smell. That's, by the way,
that's exactly what it looked like, exactly what they it
looked like. You talk about the smell body when that
cap is released at the time, so so it'll slap

(45:44):
you in the face.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
I think the first I think the first house that
Sherry and I bought we moved to Birmingham had one,
and I.

Speaker 6 (45:51):
Do I remember kind of thinking that they're a little
bit nasty.

Speaker 16 (45:55):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (45:55):
It wasn't fun, I mean, yeah, right, but it was
it was something to be done. So I'm going over
to the TV screen here. So so you have to unhook.
First of all, Greg Howard goes into here. You got
your little you got your little window right there. You
got to take it out, and you got the connectors
and all that. Take it out, and then you gotta.

Speaker 6 (46:15):
Twist the top. And then when you and when you
twist the top and release it, there's that there's that's.

Speaker 17 (46:20):
There's a smell and so you gotta you gotta twist that.
Of course, you gotta get all this off too, and
that's this is coming from. That's the dishwasher there and
then and then anyway.

Speaker 10 (46:31):
So you got to release all that and uh, and
it's a process. You gotta make sure you water's turned
off and all that. So we're going through the steps
and when baby, when that son of a gun when
it came and that was just a soupy mess in.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
There in the in the face. Grand didn't even win.

Speaker 6 (46:50):
Good.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Great, So pardon, pardon my ignorance on this, even though
you know I probably could have installed it. What is
the purpose? Because I remember having one?

Speaker 6 (46:59):
What what is the purpose? Where does it go? Where
does all the food go? Is it like it's like sewage?
What happens to the Where is it going? It's right here?

Speaker 2 (47:08):
Yeah, it just stays there.

Speaker 5 (47:10):
No, it comes to go like he get rick goes
where where does it go?

Speaker 2 (47:15):
Here?

Speaker 5 (47:15):
It gets chewed up and spit out and goes down
the drain.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
Yeah, it goes from here.

Speaker 5 (47:19):
Look at what we're pointing at. So look chewed up
out and uh.

Speaker 17 (47:25):
And so if it's so what you gots you got
your soupy mess up about right here.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
If it hasn't worked, if it's not worth yeah, oh
I see going okay and.

Speaker 10 (47:35):
Uh and so so you got to get this unit
out and then you got to put the new one in.
Uh and then trying to hey, trying to balance that
where we don't I mean you you know, you got
your little a little bucket over you know, on the
bottom and an old you know, work towel or something,
you know, just just for the mess.

Speaker 2 (47:53):
But trying to get that out and balance it.

Speaker 5 (47:54):
That is rotten foods Now, whoa, I had to take
one apart more time to speed try to it back together,
because if you drop a shot glass down in there
and turn it on, that's bad.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
That is bad.

Speaker 5 (48:08):
This was early, This was earlier, yeah, early, early.

Speaker 10 (48:12):
But we but you know what, I'm kind of proud
of our sorts don't do well in there either. Forks
don't do good even though you no that was the word.

Speaker 2 (48:21):
You know, throw some.

Speaker 10 (48:21):
Lemons down in there every now and then. It does
really help with the smelling. But so so we get
through the process, and it was a process and then
we balanced out in his granddaddy said, who get that
thing out of here, and I did as quick as
I could. Hopefully the smell's gone by now, but it's
just it's just part of it. We got the new
one in, got it, kind of got it all kinked up,

(48:43):
I mean, you know, got it all all the connectors back,
and then it was time it was time to go
turn the breaker on and see what you got and
turn the water on.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
Make sure there was no leaks or anything.

Speaker 10 (48:55):
And she had some fruit that that that was just
half a bowl of fruit. So we dropped a couple
of strawberries and some some stuff down in there and
there it goes and no leaks.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
So hopefully we were able to do it.

Speaker 10 (49:09):
You weren't available, though, And I told Terry that's like man,
if Rick was available, I know what to do, right well.

Speaker 2 (49:14):
I hope you pay attention to that dishwater plug, dishwasher plug,
because that's important.

Speaker 6 (49:18):
Yeah, oh yeah, you do have to punch it out
because it comes sealed. I know you got to punch
it out. You got to punch it out. Everybody knows that.

Speaker 10 (49:24):
Don't know that, hey, but there was there was. There
was some flatheads, and you know I had to. I
had to lefty, lefty, righty, righty.

Speaker 6 (49:33):
Now I feel bad for going out to eat. You
probably needed me, yeah waiting, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:38):
You know, I just I needed you.

Speaker 5 (49:40):
I don't have a garbage disposal, but I guess my
everyone in my house thinks we do, because I'm getting
sun out of that thing and sink every.

Speaker 6 (49:48):
Single take it in the trash can. Man, if you
don't have one.

Speaker 10 (49:52):
There was one moment and I thought Terry and I
handled it well. You know, hey, you got to turn
it right here? You got to turn it which way?

Speaker 2 (50:00):
Which way?

Speaker 16 (50:00):
Am I? Now?

Speaker 6 (50:02):
Which way do I turn?

Speaker 18 (50:03):
In here?

Speaker 2 (50:04):
Because you're underneath there and you haven't. You' all jacked up.

Speaker 10 (50:06):
You're laying on your stomach, your wife's leaning over you,
and you're in some uncomfortable situations that her mom probably
shouldn't see us in. Right now, you just joined us
and we're underneath the sink and we're pretty close together.

Speaker 2 (50:17):
We're fishing garbage.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
Is the Rick Bircher's Show. This next second needs no introduction.

Speaker 2 (52:27):
Here it is.

Speaker 6 (52:29):
Rick Burgess Show Care of Big Vox Entertainment there it is,
came right to me. Open it up.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
It was odd because it came from Fund the Nations,
which is our merchandise people, and I'm like, well, why
would they be sending me your shirt. I didn't ask
for a shirt. And I look and then the package
inside was not addressed to me. It was addressed somebody else.
And I'm like, well, I don't I don't understand what
this is. And open it up and here's a camp
House shirt camp House at Burgess Farms. Nice shirt, yeah, lard.

(53:03):
And then I kept digging around in there and I
found the order and I'm like, I just don't understand
what this is. And at first you think it somebody
wants to sit you to sign.

Speaker 6 (53:11):
That's what I thought, you know.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Oh, I went from excited to sadness. Uh, dear Rick
Burges's show that includes all you three, don't you leave
me out here on the island.

Speaker 5 (53:23):
I think I'm more behind the scenes. I'm not really
even included on it.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
I am returning this shirt to you because it's no
longer needed. Y. I ordered it for my son for Christmas,
but he is no longer a listener.

Speaker 6 (53:39):
To your show. What wait a minute, why this is
the letter inside.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
You probably don't remember him, but he's the kid that
called in to play a game, and your show proceeded
to call him a liar multiple times. Wait a minute,
A strong word, I don't We don't normally say liar.
Since that day, he is no longer listening to your show,
even though he has his whole life. And just so
you know, I checked his phone after you said he

(54:05):
was googling the answers, and he had not googled any
of them.

Speaker 6 (54:09):
Oh, oh, we sure. Do you feel bad?

Speaker 2 (54:11):
I remember this?

Speaker 6 (54:12):
Do you feel bad now?

Speaker 7 (54:13):
Me?

Speaker 6 (54:14):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (54:15):
Why why are you looking at me? You're the one
usually that is, let's face it, you'll you'll make fun
of callers, you'll make accusations, say this.

Speaker 10 (54:22):
If we insinuated that maybe they were googling, then they
probably took took a pretty good.

Speaker 6 (54:26):
Amount of time.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Look, and that was that was to keep the game fair.

Speaker 10 (54:30):
And that was a discussion we had been having that
people were taking too long to answer and we needed
to speed that up.

Speaker 6 (54:35):
Remember, text Nation seems to have understood that. Remember it
was a.

Speaker 10 (54:39):
Word liar actually used. I don't know, because we don't
normally say liar. That's pretty strong word. Did you tell
did you say to the kid when you said, are
you googling this? And he said no, and you said,
yes you are. Are you just being just semantics now? Directly,
if we're insinuating that he's finding the answer through through
and he says, then you know, we're like questioning what

(55:03):
was his uh find?

Speaker 2 (55:04):
Are you just saying if you say, I'm not telling
the truth, if you don't use the word liar, you're
not calling me a liar?

Speaker 16 (55:09):
Right?

Speaker 10 (55:10):
Did I say liar that you just use the definition
of liar, not the word right, And you think that's
if we're questioning how you're sort of if we're how
you're getting the answer, that's not necessarily and maybe we
don't well, I mean what you're saying that to mean
you we're calling you?

Speaker 6 (55:28):
Look, I don't, I don't.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
We don't really know.

Speaker 6 (55:31):
Don't you want your best chance to win? It's all
about winning something?

Speaker 2 (55:34):
I mean, it's not you know, but if we screamed liar,
we're also just cutting up having fun. All this was
in fun. Well, here's what we're doing, greg, right again,
we're having fun.

Speaker 6 (55:44):
Yeah, So that's what it was. It was speedier ad
that called him out. I think, yeah, listen to it.

Speaker 2 (55:50):
Did it happen clearly? I don't know. I understand this
is it from this I knew so we could hear
it from the letter. From the letter, I understand you
are a show that has a good time with a
car and I'm all for it. So I think I
think we're about to recover the kind of signing his
shirt when he first.

Speaker 1 (56:08):
I was like, I was like, let's go.

Speaker 2 (56:09):
Sign the shirts in this back to this fan. I
think the final straw and I don't remember this. I
think the final straw was that someone sing a song
about him lying and googling kept accusing him of it
after he said he wasn't looking up the answers. I
don't know. Is that another caller? Oh, Greg, you did
call him a liar?

Speaker 6 (56:30):
Did? I?

Speaker 2 (56:30):
I think so?

Speaker 7 (56:31):
Well?

Speaker 2 (56:32):
You you started me on it. No, wait a minute, Rick,
this song things real? So one of us made a
song up or that be ad?

Speaker 6 (56:40):
He's the musical.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
Yeah, so you were singing AI.

Speaker 6 (56:43):
It was one of the AI songs that Rick I
didn't make an AI song about this.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
Yeah. I know the situation may may seem petty to you.
But this is a kid who idolized your show and
what you supposedly stand for. What Now, This is the
part I don't get because Buddy didn't mean anything. Now
we don't want you to leave. Now I have seen
if you're lying now, Greg, Now I have stacks of
ricking Bubba CDs, hats and shirt.

Speaker 6 (57:09):
Now, I don't know why you punishing Bubba for this?

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Just to be fair, he was not in on it.

Speaker 6 (57:17):
Get right. You can't about Bubba's on You can't. You
can't punish Bubba.

Speaker 1 (57:22):
For this now.

Speaker 6 (57:23):
But apparently he's getting punished to.

Speaker 2 (57:24):
Yeah, they're now, they're now discarded in a pile along
you know what else? Listen, you know what else is
just scarded in the pile. His love for the for
a show. It's on top of the pile and a
group of and you knew this was coming. Here we
go Christian men who let him down. Oh wow, man,
I hate that.

Speaker 6 (57:45):
Saying you sang the song.

Speaker 2 (57:46):
I thought he was.

Speaker 6 (57:47):
Entertaining, Adler.

Speaker 5 (57:48):
Did I think I was sick that day?

Speaker 3 (57:50):
You know?

Speaker 2 (57:51):
I thought it was entertaining to have us accusing somebody
cheating and them trying to we're not cheating. I didn't
mean that you were bad for cheating. I just meant
if you are, then we need to hurry it up
so you can't cheat. Or we're just having fun. It's,
you know, no different if Speedy was trying to answer
it and we just tried toeat, we were having a
little fun. By the by the way, by the way,

(58:12):
the people I was in college, people are saying it
was rock and roll city, the rock and roll Wait
a minute, I got a vague memory, right said rock
and roll about it? Oh yeah, I did that kid.

Speaker 5 (58:31):
You feel bad, kids of the cheat just remembered it,
just remembered it.

Speaker 6 (58:37):
In my defense, I'm only the drummer. I had nothing
to do with the lyrics. I don't know why I'm
being punished. It sounds like I treated you really well.

Speaker 5 (58:46):
I did do something about a kid chat. Yeah that's me.

Speaker 6 (58:48):
Somebody said, guys, this is in the congressional hearing, so.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
You wait a minute. I think if we played it back,
we probably were pretty bad.

Speaker 5 (58:58):
Yeah, I rocked hard of that.

Speaker 2 (59:00):
Yeah you find I don't.

Speaker 5 (59:03):
I don't remember when that rock and roll City happened.

Speaker 2 (59:05):
But I was like, did you say that?

Speaker 3 (59:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (59:10):
I remember it.

Speaker 5 (59:11):
But this is a comedy show you care having fun,
nobody knows who he was a part of.

Speaker 1 (59:16):
This is the Rick Burgers Show. Is this show really
good or of the other shows really bad? The Rick

(59:39):
Burchers Show.

Speaker 6 (59:41):
Well, either way, you're in the right place.

Speaker 2 (59:44):
Okay, So well, you've gotta we got an issue here
because every every listener in viewer counts and I don't
like losing any of them. And we've obviously lost one here.
And here's what happened.

Speaker 6 (59:55):
It happened.

Speaker 2 (59:56):
Sometimes I can't tell you the number of times that
we've looked at each other and said, at this point,
we've forgotten that these people are real. Yeah, okay, we
think they're like one of the guys at the show
and treat them accordingly. You know, sometimes we'll talk about
someone who has passed in about halfway through the discussion,
we forget that someone's died, uh and that. And sometimes

(01:00:17):
when we're cutting up with people on the phones, we
forget they're just people and they're not members of the
show who come in knowing that they're you know, there
could be a target, and.

Speaker 6 (01:00:26):
They become fodder and then we start forgetting.

Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
We'll completely leave the fact that we're dealing with real people,
and then we start seeing how we can one up
each other with another new line about a person that
is real and is not part of this team, and
that would that's real. I mean, that's a fair assessment,
but and we're probably delusional thinking that they like to
be part of all that. There you go, But didn't
he get to spin the wheel? Though?

Speaker 6 (01:00:48):
It wasn't that the price you got him winning?

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:00:50):
I don't know if you want to, I could remember
y'all did a song about it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Here's what I think happened, Greg, And I'm so sorry
now that it's all coming together.

Speaker 6 (01:00:57):
I don't think we told him you're cheating, you can't win.

Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
I think he won when the wheel spun it landing
on Rock and Roll City, Who then sang a song
about him cheating.

Speaker 5 (01:01:04):
That's which is an honor. It is, that's you're going
into music history.

Speaker 6 (01:01:12):
That's exactly what happened that they said it was no
remember the eleventh The.

Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Audience is amazing? Really yeah, well, who knows, especially the
ones that you know. I read a text in a second, Yes,
y'all call the kid a liar? Did we say liar?
I don't know that out of my mouth. Maybe.

Speaker 6 (01:01:31):
By the way, I don't think it was liar. I
think it was cheater maybe yea, which is the same thing.

Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
You know what my mind. Okay, that's about it. It's
a synonym. But it's speeder. Remember Speedy said, if you
just say somebody's not telling them truth, telling the truth,
that's not really calling them a lot.

Speaker 10 (01:01:51):
Even though when you say, hey, you're a liar, boy,
that's all. But you go, hold, he sounds a little
bit like something else is.

Speaker 6 (01:01:59):
Don't look at me? You sure about this speed looking
at that?

Speaker 2 (01:02:03):
If you say, if you google definition of liar, it
would be someone who's not telling the truth. Right.

Speaker 10 (01:02:09):
But if I talked about the definition, but I didn't
say liar, I mean that's not that doesn't seem as
it doesn't seem all right.

Speaker 6 (01:02:16):
I want to tell you that is I don't want
to lose. I don't be an idiot.

Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
That's tough. But they said, man, what's up, you little
you're kind of dumb. By the way, they said that Rick,
you have Rick, you have finally put it together. That
is exactly what happens.

Speaker 6 (01:02:28):
Is Okay, so.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
He wins the contest.

Speaker 6 (01:02:33):
We think he's cheating. He gets to spend and it's
on rock.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Get in there and sing about it.

Speaker 6 (01:02:40):
But when we first talked about it, we didn't do
anything wrong.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
That was her first reaction. If we find it in playing,
I think we're going to realize.

Speaker 6 (01:02:47):
We weren't being a bunch of a's.

Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
Yeah, all right, So we have the shirt. They've sent
it back.

Speaker 6 (01:02:51):
I've opened it up. I thought they wanted it to signed.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
Okay, Rick was getting everybody gathered a sharp. I went
and got a shirt to sign. I got to take
care of this fan. Okay, I'm sending it back because
you called me a liar. But at one point, he
wait a minute, somebody's mad. So here's what I want
to do. We don't we're not going to say the
kid's name. We're not going to say mama's name. And

(01:03:15):
she's concerned.

Speaker 6 (01:03:16):
But but speedy, here's what we are going to do.

Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
We're gonna get this listener back. What we're we doing,
there's only order. She sent the order in from our store.

Speaker 6 (01:03:25):
Okay. By the way, I didn't know that every invoice
has the face on it.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
That's hilarious. Yeah, which which makes this funny. I's a
tattered copy too, But anyway, there's a phone number on there,
and I want you to go in there and call
it me. Yes, I'm not the one that's say you're
the word good.

Speaker 6 (01:03:43):
That's kind of your deal.

Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
I just said that.

Speaker 6 (01:03:48):
We have to call people back this year.

Speaker 16 (01:03:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:03:50):
By the way, Text Nation says, is the word today
for one hundred daughters? Liar, No, it's not. That's not
the word. We need to get this person back.

Speaker 2 (01:04:00):
Every listen. Look, every listener matters, and we're getting them back. Yeah,
and we we even feel if we were hurt their feelings.

Speaker 6 (01:04:05):
We didn't know.

Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
I didn't mean that. That sounds bad looking back, it
does sound a little rougher and I remember it.

Speaker 6 (01:04:10):
But but okay, so speedy the song?

Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Maybe because she mentioned vaguely the song there in her letter.
But now, at first I thought, who's singing a song by?
And you played drums on it? I did?

Speaker 6 (01:04:24):
I got you not very well. I can't. I don't
have and she doesn't and she doesn't hear or she
does not have to come on the show.

Speaker 2 (01:04:29):
But if they're willing, we want to apologize publicly, okay,
because we got carried away and we didn't mean her.

Speaker 6 (01:04:34):
Ayboy feeling, you know, it's me calling.

Speaker 2 (01:04:36):
Can I say I'm Adler?

Speaker 6 (01:04:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:04:40):
You know, a lots of times we'll get emails from
people like kind of joking about this, but the fact
that they sent the shirt back really means you know,
they're not joking.

Speaker 6 (01:04:49):
What if we wake them up right now?

Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
It's ringing? Okay, all right, Speedy's on the phone. We're
not putting them on the air. We're just calling you
get a chance to apologize. What I say, I'm gonna
be say.

Speaker 6 (01:05:01):
Hello, this is Speedy from the Rick Burgess Show. And
we got this is Speedy with the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
Sorry to bother you? Here we go?

Speaker 6 (01:05:10):
Are you nervous?

Speaker 2 (01:05:11):
Hey? How we got your package in the mail and
and I was hoping I could talk to you about it? Okay, right,
you are driving to work. Well, I don't want to
distract you. Uh do you want me to let you go.

Speaker 3 (01:05:25):
That?

Speaker 6 (01:05:26):
We just want to do we want to apologize or
the kid?

Speaker 2 (01:05:28):
Ma'am?

Speaker 6 (01:05:29):
Okay, So mom, what about the kid?

Speaker 2 (01:05:32):
Yeah? It was on when you returned the merchandise. Your
number was on on the the deal.

Speaker 6 (01:05:38):
I apologize and I don't, I don't.

Speaker 10 (01:05:40):
We just wanted to apologize as all because we were
were our intentions was to not upset you or your son,
and and I just okay, Yeah, I would love to
talk to him if I could.

Speaker 6 (01:05:51):
Yeah, that'd be great. I ask him.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
Go on, Hey, buddy, this is speedy with the Rick
bird Man.

Speaker 10 (01:06:00):
Look, hey, we just wanted to apologize. Sometimes we get
caught up and just having fun and and cutting up
and we apologize and tell you we're sorry if we
hurt your feelings or anything. Bud, Yeah, well, look, is
there anything we can do to make this better? Could
we send the shirt back or you can sign it,

(01:06:22):
you know, we want to sign it. Just want to
really make sure that you're okay, because you know, we
were just cutting up and having fun with each other
and joking around, and it was never intended to be
a personal shot at you.

Speaker 5 (01:06:34):
We thought you were tougher.

Speaker 6 (01:06:35):
We want to take of a song as an honor.
We want to publicly apologize.

Speaker 10 (01:06:39):
To we're publicly apologizing to you said your name or
anything like that. But Rick, you probably I'm assuming you
probably don't want to go on the air anything like that.
Because Rick was wanting to apologize to you publicly, would
you do that or would you rather just stay off
air with me?

Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
Okay, okay, that's fine, you don't have to go on that. Yeah,
we're so bad. I just apologize, and I hope you
accept our apology. Tell him not to punish Bubb before it,
and look, by the way, don't punish Bubb before it
because he wasn't a part of it. I know that
your mom in the letter had said that you had
piled a bunch of the Rick and Bubba stuff up.

Speaker 6 (01:07:14):
Don't punish.

Speaker 10 (01:07:16):
Don't punish him for that because this was this was
us that did it. And I'm sorry that Adler was
hurt with that song.

Speaker 6 (01:07:22):
He sang, but it was just it was just.

Speaker 2 (01:07:24):
Now that the song was I was just playing the drums.
Tell him that Greg was just playing the drums, and Greg,
by the way, just says he was playing the drums,
you know, Greg.

Speaker 6 (01:07:33):
He says he was just playing the drums and Adler
was singing.

Speaker 10 (01:07:36):
Do you want me to send it back or are
you Are you still done or you want to think
about it? And just email me speedy at Rick burgesshow
dot com and I'll be happy to do whatever we're
singing it.

Speaker 6 (01:07:45):
Don't give up on us.

Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
Yeah, don't give up on this now, please, please.

Speaker 6 (01:07:52):
You buddy, tell you mom.

Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
She can email me if you want it back, if
you want to think about it, we'll just keep it
here in the office and we'll be happy to see it.

Speaker 6 (01:08:00):
Weren't That means Greg was not right again?

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
Okay, buddy, you have a great you headed to school?
Oh boy? What great?

Speaker 6 (01:08:07):
G n Oh, this is gonna hurt ninth grade. Okay, Oh,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:08:14):
Are you serious?

Speaker 1 (01:08:16):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (01:08:17):
Do you feel bad?

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Do you what now?

Speaker 3 (01:08:19):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:08:20):
Oh you do? Okay, I'll tell I'll tell Rick and
Greg that wy.

Speaker 6 (01:08:24):
Okay, that's something else. Are innocent in this, which is rare.

Speaker 10 (01:08:30):
Hey, buddy, in all seriousness, your mom is a great mom.
Just just kind of covering and letting letting us know
that we were wrong, and we apologize older.

Speaker 6 (01:08:39):
I thought he was older. We thought you were older.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
You have a good day. And by the way, we
thought you were older, we never thought we never thought
you were this young.

Speaker 6 (01:08:47):
By the way, I always tell the truth, but we
treat you that we do each other.

Speaker 10 (01:08:52):
We'll see you later and tell your mom we said
hey as well, and the audience thought. The audience says
hello to Okay, okay, man, tell her reach out to
me if she want easy.

Speaker 6 (01:09:03):
Okay, well try and talk. Yeah, buddy speak.

Speaker 2 (01:09:06):
We tried, and I think, my god, I feel better
about it.

Speaker 6 (01:09:10):
You feel better about it. Yeah, that's interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:09:13):
I feel the same he was.

Speaker 6 (01:09:15):
I thought he would be like a junior in high school.

Speaker 5 (01:09:18):
I thought I thought he was in fifth grade.

Speaker 6 (01:09:20):
I thought college. Well, you're right.

Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
I mean I think about my ninth grade and I
would I could have adler, do you do you'd like
to say you're sorry?

Speaker 5 (01:09:29):
I would find the clip to really see what to
see what I'm apology?

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:09:35):
How was how was the it's tough man? How were they? Well,
you know, the mom wanted to know how I got
her number and I said he was on the last.
She was a little mad about it.

Speaker 10 (01:09:44):
And then I did it that I apologize, falling all
over myself doing it. But and then she said, what
do you want to talk to him? And I said, well, yeah, great,
And they were on the way to school.

Speaker 6 (01:09:55):
He said, yes, sir. He was saying yes sir and
thank you and all that. Did he take it? Did
you tell him not to punish everybody for this?

Speaker 15 (01:10:03):
Do what?

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
Ye?

Speaker 6 (01:10:03):
I heard you tell him not to punish Bubba for this?
What do you say?

Speaker 10 (01:10:06):
He said, yes, sir, he was very respectful and and
I think he he actually he knows, uh he knows
y'all's family. Oh really and that's all I'll say.

Speaker 6 (01:10:17):
The grigging me and uh friendly for Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
I well, I just guy, I'm kind of like and
I'd like to hear it. I know if because I
may need apologize even more, should I write.

Speaker 5 (01:10:32):
Him another song or I think we got him back?

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
I think we need to be careful here.

Speaker 6 (01:10:37):
Does he want us to sign the shirt ands in
your back?

Speaker 10 (01:10:39):
No, I said, I said, well, I said, we'll keep
the shirt in the office, and if you want us
to get it back to you, I'll be happy to
do that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
Just tell your mom that.

Speaker 6 (01:10:48):
I never wanted to wear it a campus this week.

Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
You but no, I think we need to keep it here.
For Adler Wares, this is the.

Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
Rick Burgess Show, the man who taught the world to

(01:11:28):
say couldn't care less. Rick versus.

Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
Merry Christmas already gave the word today that you need
to be texting for one hundred dollars.

Speaker 6 (01:11:43):
So if you missed that, you've ter asked somebody.

Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
Still an opportunity for somebody who pay three questions today,
I'll know the show for five hundred ninety nine dollars programs. Okay,
so we found the archive and we've gone back and
we've looked at the film. I will say to Mama
out there into the young man, I clearly said that

(01:12:08):
I believe he was telling the truth.

Speaker 6 (01:12:09):
I don't even know why I'm in this at all.
That was one line. I don't know why I'm being punished.
That would you?

Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
You said that, Here's what I'm gonna say. And I
did accuse him of googling, but it was just interaction.

Speaker 6 (01:12:21):
During the game. Hey, you ain't googling, are you what?

Speaker 15 (01:12:23):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
You know, it was just the interaction. We didn't go
you're stinking lard, you know. And I had song the song,
the song yet, but I but just hearing it. We
were just if it came across that we were calling
him a liar, I thought it was just in good
fun that I'll be honest with you, I don't have
problem with somebody trying to win the game. You know,
do what you gotta do, and that's what I did.

(01:12:45):
I apologized him that maybe we went too far. Hey, Greg, Greg,
try not if you will try not to hit the
the court over there, since you're back pedaling all way
over that way. No, I mean, I'm just saying it
wasn't what we heard. Wasn't all that interaction during the game.
You you were pausing, It was taking you longer to
get it. Hey, you ain't googling, are you?

Speaker 3 (01:13:04):
You know?

Speaker 6 (01:13:04):
I just and I haven't heard the song.

Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
It may be a little more. It may have called
him a liar, but Mom said the song was a
turning point. That's when we got shirt.

Speaker 5 (01:13:11):
But I guess do we want to hear the song?

Speaker 3 (01:13:14):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:13:16):
I know, I just apologized to it. What about it's
gonna tune back in then hear the song?

Speaker 1 (01:13:20):
What about it?

Speaker 5 (01:13:20):
Just the first line of the song? No, just the
first line, because I'm saying I think I was being
nicer than than everybody's saying.

Speaker 10 (01:13:30):
I'm just saying I'm on record for saying no, because
since I'm the one that.

Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
Just talked to there we go, I know that, Yeah, okay,
that's awful.

Speaker 2 (01:13:45):
You're you're the one.

Speaker 6 (01:13:47):
Yeah, that's on you, buddy, And it was.

Speaker 5 (01:13:49):
A funny, jokey song. I didn't mean to hurt the
kids feeling when we we just went back and listened
in the break and it did. There was a three
to four second pause, and then the kid responded with
a very confident and correct answer. So it was very
hard for me to not assume that the kid was cheating.
Because there's a thing called the Internet that has all

(01:14:11):
the information of the world upon it.

Speaker 6 (01:14:13):
Is it is it right to assume something, though, And
you know what happens when.

Speaker 5 (01:14:16):
You assume, Yes, I do, just you get down to
the facts. That's the same.

Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
Still not sure why I'm in this because I even
said I documented I think the kid's still in the truth,
and now here I am with a shirt back, my
shirt back of my lap and a mean letter from mom.

Speaker 5 (01:14:30):
But you also said God knows what you're doing, buddy.
That was one line in which you believe you.

Speaker 2 (01:14:35):
That's just the truth.

Speaker 6 (01:14:36):
You know what I'm saying there. It's not for me
to judge, It's only for God to judge.

Speaker 5 (01:14:40):
Well, I'm I'm I'm sorry that it made the kids sad.
I damn sad.

Speaker 6 (01:14:44):
But that wasn't that wasn't and pleasant. I have nothing
to do with the song. I was on drums. I
couldn't even hear what I was saying, just throw me
on the what about the whole segment when you were
telling me it was good?

Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
No, I apologize if it came across. And then I
was calling him, yeah and I have I actually.

Speaker 6 (01:15:02):
I want him back. I want his shirt back. Let's
don't sign it and mess it up.

Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
No, they get to have a nice shirt and then
they want us to sign it. I'm thinking you want
to walk around with old chicken scratch hand writing on you.

Speaker 6 (01:15:13):
You never know what people going through. God, everybody's like you, buddy.

Speaker 2 (01:15:16):
No, look all kind decide if it bothered them, then
I absolutely apologie.

Speaker 7 (01:15:20):
Yah.

Speaker 2 (01:15:20):
Yeah, well I want to say this too, and it
obviously did. He was extremely respectful. He was saying, yes, sir,
and all that means what a nice young man can
if you if you want to have something to make
this even I know to them it's not humorous yet
I hope it will be again if you want it
to be humorous for you the audience, especially those of
you that are cold hearted and uncaring.

Speaker 6 (01:15:41):
If you want to laugh at Greg and my expense.

Speaker 7 (01:15:45):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:15:46):
When Speedy said that he was connected our sister and
I'll just leave at this is probably one of the
people that has tried so hard to tell us that.
She said she would never call this show, and she
she she has a feed.

Speaker 6 (01:16:02):
She has it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:03):
Now, I don't say and I agree with it all
the way, but she's made it clear she thinks we're
a little rough on the callers. And the fact that
the connection to us is is more closer to her is,
by the way, that's a that's a terrible irony because
of all people. Can you imagine our sister if this
comes back to her as you'll go, I knew it,

(01:16:23):
and she'll say, well, that's what I've been talking to
you all about it. And you know, of all the
people in our family that that has might have a connection,
that's not the.

Speaker 6 (01:16:30):
One we needed.

Speaker 2 (01:16:32):
You know, we're getting a lecture from our sister coming, Yeah,
sister lecture. But again, I feel good about it. I
think I think we you feel okay. It sounds like
he's going to give the show a chance again. Yeah,
we're gonna hold the shirt. Yeah, we're gonna hold the shirt,

(01:16:52):
and and then if he wants us to send it
to him, we'll send it back. If he wants us
to sign it, we'll sign it personally.

Speaker 6 (01:16:59):
I think what needs to happen to just put this
to bed and move on. I think rock and rolls.

Speaker 10 (01:17:04):
I think rock and roll City needs to perform a
song apologizing to him.

Speaker 6 (01:17:09):
That's what I think.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
That's what I mean.

Speaker 10 (01:17:12):
That's just me, and I think that just buttons it up,
you know, a little bowl on top. Yeah, I mean,
but nothing, you know, but it's like maybe it could
even be you know, love.

Speaker 2 (01:17:22):
Is not lonely style.

Speaker 10 (01:17:23):
You know, love is not lonely yea, or just more
of a it could be I know, y'all like to
rock out. It could be hard rock, or it could
be a little bit more you know, adult contemporary.

Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
Just I'm so hey, rock and roll city.

Speaker 6 (01:17:38):
It's not called adult contemporary city.

Speaker 10 (01:17:39):
Okay, then rock and rolls and you know, just something
you know, it's always it's on my fault.

Speaker 2 (01:17:47):
I'm an idiot, not you, But like that we can do.

Speaker 6 (01:17:50):
Something like a rock anthem like Highway song by Black Yeah, yeah,
something like that, and and maybe called soft rock and
roll city. Okay, I give you that.

Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
I give you that. Oh he's getting it.

Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
Addler's getting ready. Uh he's is he gonna do this
by himself? That'll be fun.

Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
Oh, I mean, Okay, I wasn't expecting that.

Speaker 5 (01:18:08):
I thought, you guys, can you hear me some the
hert Okay, here we go. I'm so sorry I called you.

Speaker 6 (01:18:20):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
That really is, and and and and it was so
it was very loud, and it was heartfelt, right, but
it was a good kind of loud at it not
a bad lay? Yeah, No, that's no. It was perfect.

Speaker 6 (01:18:29):
It was perfect. It was perfect perfect.

Speaker 5 (01:18:31):
Yeah, I'm sorry, buddy. I didn't mean to hurt your
feelings saying that. It's a common I'm sorry anybody he
didn't mean.

Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
It's a comedy.

Speaker 5 (01:18:40):
And I want to go for a joke right here.
I gotta stop.

Speaker 2 (01:18:44):
You've done enough, You've done enough. Put to bed. There
we go. Maybe one more.

Speaker 5 (01:18:49):
Let's knowing you've done enough. A couple of lines.

Speaker 2 (01:18:56):
I got two kids. I know how that would feel.

Speaker 6 (01:18:58):
Stuff like that.

Speaker 5 (01:18:58):
Okay, there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:19:00):
Ya, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
You better listen up.

Speaker 3 (01:19:18):
You know what we say.

Speaker 2 (01:19:20):
Alls, I'm gonna tell you. We gotta find.

Speaker 1 (01:19:29):
Broadcasting from the real world. The Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
Thank you America, thanks for being with us again today.
We have covered a lot if you missed it. Yep,
we've done the Michigan football story. That's an ugly, ugly,
ugly story. Also, we've tried to apologize to a listener
who we've been told will not listen anymore. Hopefully we've

(01:19:56):
mended that fence, and now we've moved forward on a
brand new our. If you missed the show, the word
that needs to be text has already been announced. So
if you miss that, ask somebody random drawing coming up
later Christmas cash to that winner one hundred dollars and

(01:20:17):
a chance for somebody to play know the show three questions.
It could get you five hundred and ninety nine dollars today,
So be paying attention. That is still to come. Birch,
how do I get all these archives? I feel like
I've missed stuff I want to go back and catch.
You can do that on the YouTube channel, or you
can do that on our podcast channel. Both of those

(01:20:37):
right now, do have yesterday's Wednesday Bible Study archive ready
to go. So I do have a couple of things
to touch on from the audience. It ties into some
of the giveaway. Anytime there's giveaways, you know, the audience
gets intense, oh you know, and they get real critical
of anything they don't like, so a may burd emails

(01:21:09):
from you the audience. Hey bird, Hey birds, just put
that in the subject line. Easy to get that email
address or any of our email address, you just go
to the team. They're at rickburgesshow dot com. But I'll
give you the email address for hey bird, It's Rick
at Rick Burgessshow dot com. You may have seen that
one coming this message. This is from a listener, hey bird.

(01:21:33):
This message is for those who are only listening to
the show for the next two weeks so they can
try to win some money. Yeah, well, stop calling in
and trying to win. If you don't know that Speedy
licked honey off the parking lot, that's good. Then you're
blocking the phone lines for people that do listen and

(01:21:55):
can ask with a question correctly. We didn't just show
up a week ago.

Speaker 6 (01:22:00):
Wasn't easy. I missed it.

Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
We're glad you're listening and welcome to the group. But
you're welcoming. We're welcoming you to a group of hardcore fans.
Maybe you should wait till next year to try to win,
after you've listened for a while and know what's going on.
I hate to be harsh, during this holiday season. But

(01:22:22):
I am so over these people. Wow, I love y'all.
Leanne liam Man's valid mad about it. It's about and
mad about it. She's a way we can control. They
don't be blocking the lines for those of us that
know the answers just because you just showed up did

(01:22:43):
the work a week ago.

Speaker 6 (01:22:46):
Okay, I mean legitimate point. She angry. Maybe people are
freezing up and just getting there. Maybe but they know
more than.

Speaker 2 (01:22:56):
They really Well well she's saying, know, the show really
is talking about big moments and pretty elementary things.

Speaker 6 (01:23:03):
If you were, like Leahn said, hardcore.

Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Listener, She's over y'all. Yeah, okay, brilliant marketing move, Birch.
I was listening to the podcast over the weekend. At first,
I thought it was funny that I kept hearing an
ad from Marshall's department store that featured two men who
appeared to be, as some might say, a little light
in the loafers.

Speaker 6 (01:23:24):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
At first, I thought, well, those advertisers are just wasting
their money. But after listening to the podcast of Monday Show,
specifically the part where you were talking about the way
the industry is now and the fact that you have
to work harder for revenue streams. I realized just how
brilliant you were last week.

Speaker 6 (01:23:41):
Birch.

Speaker 2 (01:23:42):
You're discussion about electric bikes and pedicures. You're just trying
to bring in a diverse new audience for your advertising income.
Go well done, my friend, Well done. I'm standing in applauding.
Bird's take a bow, Keith and Missouri. But I'm standing
up now, Oh, taking a back. There you go, thanks, gentlemen.
You know we're trying to bring in a mass audience,

(01:24:04):
mass mass audience. Hey, Birge Road tiede to Dickey Nadmar.
I bet he appreciates this. We know that Dicky will
be at every BAMA playoff game. I don't know, do
you think is he going the way he was? He
said he wasn't going to Oklahoma. Remember he's gonna hange
on how they play against Oklahoma they win, And you

(01:24:26):
don't think he's going to Norman. No, Okay, so you
know he'll they'll play.

Speaker 6 (01:24:31):
They win, right?

Speaker 15 (01:24:33):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:24:34):
My question is this? Uh, and I'm not sure Dicky
is the best answer this year, since he's down on
the tide right now. But my question is what does
it costs for a family? Of four that the decides
are going to travel to every game, and they're saying
if Bama, but really would apply to any team if
you make the championship. Run my goodness, how much is travel, hotel, tickets.

Speaker 6 (01:24:55):
And food.

Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
We talked about that when they went to the system.
You go, I mean, yeah, how can you know a
lot of these diehard fans say, but from the one
Bowl game? Yeah, now you've got pick and cheese with
which one you want? So if and he's talking about
the nadmire so you're talking about, let's just take the
Tide a real attack. We're talking about the Tide. So
now I've got to put together the costs to Norman, Oklahoma.

(01:25:17):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 6 (01:25:18):
Okay, let's say the Tide wins. Oh boy, I just
put uh, I went just went to Atlanta.

Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
That cost I just went to Atlanta. Of course, of course,
Bama's already played Norman once. Yeah, right, Okay, that was
it bright, That's what was so shot, all right, So
I've got to go to Norman, and if Bama wins,
I've already been to Atlanta. If Bama wins, then I
have to look at Oh my goodness, that's where they play.

(01:25:44):
They play at the Rose Bowl against Indiana. Then this game,
if they win, they go now to the Rose Bowl.
So I've got to have money for Atlanta for the
SEC Championship. I got to go to Norman, all the
hotels and food and yeah gas or fly or whatever.
Then I gotta go to California.

Speaker 6 (01:26:03):
I don't know. How do fans keep up with all that?
I don't know. Wow, now that that show enough, fan
you can pull down now then admirers, they're in an RV.

Speaker 10 (01:26:11):
So they but that's still fuel and that's that's a lot,
and that would be on back to if they won,
that would be at the Rose Bowl on on New
Year's Day.

Speaker 6 (01:26:23):
All right, So now let's say Bamma wins that.

Speaker 10 (01:26:25):
Uh the'll let's see here, semi finals is back in
Atlanta Chick fil A Bowl on the night.

Speaker 6 (01:26:33):
That's not so bad.

Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
And then the nineteenth it's at I didn't say, where
is it?

Speaker 6 (01:26:40):
Who's got the championship this year? Don't let me see?

Speaker 2 (01:26:43):
Oh, I don't know. Well, the bottom line is that's
a lot of that's a lot of tickets and travel
and fuel and yeah, don't you have you got to
be a serious fan, especially considering it's on television, right,
I gotta go.

Speaker 6 (01:26:55):
You can still see it. Well, here's what I'm wondering.
Is it even possible to go to all of them?

Speaker 2 (01:26:59):
I'm sure there's a very small handful of people that
could pull that off. The one and think about just
getting off for work. I mean, there's so many things
that it is in Miami. Yeah, so if it's if
I make this run, Okay, I'm just using Bama. Use
your whatever team, you can look at it, but Bama's
run would be this. I've already paid for Atlanta lost.

(01:27:20):
I'm going to Norman, then I'm going to California, then
I'm going back to Atlanta, and then I'm going to Miami. Yeah.
It's a hard right ca Wow, hard right status. That's
a lot, and there's people who will pull that off.
Oh yeah, oh yeah, wow, that's a lot.

Speaker 6 (01:27:40):
But if you're Dickie, you know, you take the art
thing everywhere. You just got that disability check. That's true.

Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
And so he just makes it happen.

Speaker 6 (01:27:48):
And of course he's had you know, they have a
he's gonna have his tickets. Oh yeah, we'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:27:56):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. He was told good
luck finding a job that would pay him to be

(01:28:17):
the class clown Rick Burgess.

Speaker 2 (01:28:22):
All right, thanks you for being with us today. Still
to come the Christmas cash countdown. It's real. One hundred dollars.
Words already been said today. You need to text that
in for the drawing at the end of the show.
Somebody guaranteed to win today. But what we haven't done
yet is to give you a shot at the five
hundred and ninety nine dollars. So that's that's still to come,

(01:28:46):
So be paying attention for that. All right, heads up,
I know, I know, I get it. You got to
We just talked about this thing. A lot of you
are kicking the tires on this cruise next year, sharring me,
Lord willing be on the Allura with Oceania Cruises, a
luxury cruise line and just a beautiful, beautiful ship and

(01:29:09):
all the amenities and just a wonderful opportunity, and a
lot of you are out there going, hey, I'm kicking
the tires on this.

Speaker 6 (01:29:15):
I'm thinking about it. It is an investment.

Speaker 3 (01:29:17):
I got that.

Speaker 2 (01:29:18):
Even though for what we're doing, this is actually a
really good entry level opportunity here because you know, it's
new and we're putting together a group of twenty and
you know, so we won't be a huge group, but
we will have a great time.

Speaker 6 (01:29:33):
The ship itself does not have thousands of people on it.

Speaker 2 (01:29:36):
These are smaller, but they can go places the others
can't go of The food is completely included, no matter
what restaurants you eat at, which there's eight of them there,
and award winning chefs, the best cuisine on the sea.
There's all kinds of bells and whistles that go with
your package. So if you want to find out more,
let me just let me just talk to you about this, okay,

(01:29:58):
because this ismpletely true. This cruise line is so sought after,
and this new ship is so sought after. There's a
lot of demand outside of our group. You see what
I'm saying that when we're holding some cabins, But they're
going to sell this ship out, whether it's us or not.
So I got word yesterday it's about seventy percent sold

(01:30:22):
out for this cruise that we all are going to
have put together, you know, leaving from Turkey and going
to Greece and Italy and Montenegro and Croatia. It's going
to just be a beautiful, beautiful trip and we're going
to have a great time together with those of you
that will honor us by going with us. So I
just want to let you know there there is an

(01:30:43):
option that even if we haven't sold all of ours,
that they'll sell them off to other people who want them.
There's that kind of demand. So don't put this off.
If you know you want to go, go ahead and
get with the people standing by, and let's get you
own the ship and excited about those of you that
are already own the ship with us. So go right

(01:31:05):
now and to Rick burgesshow dot com. The link is
there now for some of you with different browsers, you're
not seeing that link. You said have to extend your browser.
Is that what it is?

Speaker 6 (01:31:14):
Extend the browser?

Speaker 2 (01:31:16):
Or you can just email directly Rick Burgess show at
Syndicated Solutions dot com. They'll help you. But there is
a link there, and you also can go to Oceana
Cruise Cruises dot com slash.

Speaker 6 (01:31:29):
Big vox Is that right? Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:31:30):
Okay, yes so, and that'll help you. So we're excited
about that. It's gonna be a lot, a lot of
fun and we get to spend some time with you
guys hanging out. You know, it's one thing to be
at an event, another thing to be up here at
the show. That's always fun. But for Sherry and I
get to just getting to spend time hanging out with
you guys in regular life and and you know, be

(01:31:51):
able to have these stories of going on this trip
together for years to come and getting to hear your
stories and getting to know you a little better.

Speaker 6 (01:31:58):
It's really exciting. So great opportunity. We got a lot
of controversy today. I don't really like it.

Speaker 10 (01:32:08):
The honey licking question, the guy that got it wrong.
He has responded to Leanne's email through a text Nation bus.
She's called him out and boy he he basically says, Hey,
I'm not just in and out right. I mean, I listen,
but but I can't listen five hours every day because

(01:32:30):
I have a job. I can't watch you know, past
shows all the time, because I have an elderly mom
who I care for.

Speaker 2 (01:32:37):
He goes, I just be honest with you.

Speaker 10 (01:32:39):
I missed the honey segment. But you know, had I
gotten yeah, he said, he said, But if I had
gotten in the next day, I would have won the
five hundred dollars with the Jersey numbers. He said, uh,
something you all have talked about many times, not just
one time. Leanne and some of and to some extent,

(01:33:02):
you all need to get over yourselves, step down from
the high and mighty pedestals, and appreciate those of us
who love the show but just can't listen all the time,
just when we can.

Speaker 6 (01:33:14):
I just don't like all the controversy, you know.

Speaker 10 (01:33:16):
But he is responding in one I'm giving a reason
why he just missed that that day show.

Speaker 13 (01:33:21):
That's fine.

Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
Look, but I will say there's a we have a
kind heart. We're reaching out a lot of things that
are done here. Tongue is firm, firmly in cheek, and
I do say, as kind as we're trying to be,
we're kindler, we're gentler. Let's all take a little dose
of lighting up Francis too. Yeah, everybody needs to take
you a little even if it's not a full pill,
maybe a half pill of lighting up Francis. It's all

(01:33:44):
in good fun, just having a good time. You had
a chance at it. You didn't know the honey thing
you did. Greg's doubting that you do the number ninety six. Yeah,
for me, I'm having a hard time in college when
I rocked that one year a college ball, so you
know it's a you know, I played a little ball.
I don't know who ever mentioned it, uh, but I understood.
But look, if you are fighting amongst yourselves, don't bring
us in it.

Speaker 6 (01:34:05):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (01:34:06):
There's just a lot of scrap. Well let me tell
you you remember, look just being let's just go transparent, okay,
because I love and we just we just let it
all hang out. When we started talking about what we
were going to do with this new opportunity, I said, look,
at the end of the day, I have fun with
all the gifts, and we got a gift we're giving
away and it's a cool gift and all that.

Speaker 6 (01:34:26):
I said.

Speaker 2 (01:34:26):
At the end of the day, if you want to
know what people really want, they just want money. Giving
people money helps some more than anything else. You know,
love love the gift card idea. But if I don't
even have that location in my world kind of limits
me to Hey, I got to go to that place.
But money, money, moneymend money anywhere.

Speaker 15 (01:34:43):
Rick.

Speaker 6 (01:34:43):
But let me throw this out there. When you when
you bring out that cold, hard.

Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
Cash, people get intense Oh yeah, people fight, that's true.
You ever see anybody remember the dropping free money incident.

Speaker 6 (01:34:56):
With the helicopter. It was ugly. Oh yeah, Hey, when
you start giving out money, people act up and it's
got people got people like Leanne stirred up the black
out and then wake up. They run damage.

Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
But now the audience is fighting amongst themselves, declaring who's loyal,
who's not. I'm more loyal than you, who's hardcore who's not.
So I'm just I just want everybody to settle down.
It's just a little bit of money from old Saint Rick,
nothing to get intense about.

Speaker 10 (01:35:22):
I will suggest if you can't listen every day, and
I understand life happens that follow us on social media
because a lot of times we'll give you recaps of what's.

Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
What you might have missed, and you know you have
the podcast now are nives. But really there's no excuse
to miss any part of the show. Now you can
listen to it in your own time, and if you've
been a little more devoted, you'd one. I mean, look,
you just you missed missed something that was tied to it.
It's a big event here. That would have been one
of those things. Where as soon as I take care
of mom and settled down, I did go watch this

(01:35:53):
or listen to it. You know, I mean speedy, he's
licking honey out the parking lot. I'm sorry, you big deal.

Speaker 6 (01:35:59):
You gott to know that.

Speaker 2 (01:36:00):
Yeah, So are you cold today?

Speaker 6 (01:36:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:36:03):
By the way, I will say this, I don't know.
I don't know what's happened where we are, but but
this building is freezing today. Well what's the temperature out
there right now? Because you know, it kind of fooled
us and got up in the high fifties yesterday in
low sixties. Yeah, but now it's thirty five. I just
went into that lobby and it's bitter out there. Yeah,
that lobby is always better, Yeah, but for some reason

(01:36:23):
it's it's works. It's really really.

Speaker 6 (01:36:24):
Cold today, and and from what I've gathered, we're gonna
get a little cold this week. That Sunday, I think
Saturday is like sixty something? Is I thought that was Friday?
Why are you maybe temperature struck dropping on Saturday where
we are?

Speaker 2 (01:36:35):
I know that maybe I said, look, guys, look y'all
know this while we cared about is what's going happen
with You're doing right now, and we're trying not to
just talk about.

Speaker 6 (01:36:42):
That all the time. It's in our head right now.
Not gonna rain. Tell me.

Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Tell me about Saturday in Sweet Home, Alabama. It's gonna
drop throughout the day. That front is coming in Sunday.
The high Sunday is forty low is seventeen. Sunday night
on Saturday high sixty two, low thirty seven.

Speaker 6 (01:36:59):
So we're gonna be that transition though at night.

Speaker 10 (01:37:02):
Still the morning huts canna be cold. It's gonna in
the thirties. Well yeah, and hey, this one over here,
I know he tastes talking big game.

Speaker 6 (01:37:13):
Here he goes again. Hey, I'll tell you what I'll
do it.

Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
I'm on you know you know what he's saying.

Speaker 6 (01:37:19):
I'm gonna flip the script.

Speaker 2 (01:37:20):
Yeah, you just got Chick'll tell you what out. I'll
just sit on the ground. You ain't gonna flip the script.
You going up sent on that same field you always do.
And that's shoot, I'm not you are here, you are
I'm going out on an adventure. Okay, all right, so
we'll we'll be back, all right. This thing involving Philip Rivers, Okay,

(01:37:42):
did I misunderstand this the culture talking a bigger game.

Speaker 6 (01:37:46):
I thought it was just coming to help with the
practice squad. We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (01:37:50):
This is the Rick Burgess Show in a world that
has gone nuts. They are here too well to point
it out. It's the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 6 (01:38:08):
Thank you America, thanks for being with us today.

Speaker 2 (01:38:16):
You know, we we announced with this big Vox Outdoors
and Grip feed have teamed up. We now have a
camp House line of feeds. And there's other items that
will be coming. But the first one is rix Mix.
It is for in season, uh, all the attraction you
want to fellow hunters, but with the nutrition for the future.

Speaker 7 (01:38:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:38:39):
And if you are looking to get it, we have
retailers that have come on board. Speedy has it on
his story on Instagram and he just allowed me to
put it on my story where you can click the
link right there and find the retailers that are now
carrying rix Mix. And these are these are current dealers
and we'll be adding to that uh as the as

(01:38:59):
the days weeks go by.

Speaker 6 (01:39:00):
So if you're looking for the ones that.

Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
Are available right now, go to the Instagram account of
Speedy or me and look on the story. There's the
link right there. All right, So this Philip Rivers thing,
I thought he was just going to come and help
and get out, get on the practice squad, emergency quarterback.

Speaker 6 (01:39:23):
I'm here if y'all need to be.

Speaker 2 (01:39:25):
He's forty four, he's a granddad, he's a high school
football coach. He just got out of the playoffs and
now he's going to go play for the Colts. Yeah,
and we're just showing a little b roll footage of
him at practice. His high school even sent out kind
of a message that hey, coach, were proud of you,
saw that and can't wait for you to come back.

(01:39:46):
So he's still going to be head coach there, but
this is what he's doing in the off season. And
he's slinging it around little bit, still still has an arm.
But he's talking about that he might play against the
Sea off And that's what.

Speaker 10 (01:39:58):
The discussion is about. Are we talking what the culture
in a bad spot? And I thought it was just hey,
we're gonna be here. Did he look better at practice
than they thought better? And they're really talking about, hey,
he could really help us.

Speaker 2 (01:40:12):
So Adler, I know that you have him at his
press conference talking listen, this is not what I thought, listen.

Speaker 9 (01:40:20):
To this, the easiest way to eliminate all the things
that Mike can go bad is to stay home. And
the only way to find out can you still do
it is to go try. And I really try to
keep it that simple.

Speaker 6 (01:40:31):
And so.

Speaker 9 (01:40:33):
Again I don't have any concern from the neck up
and I don't have any concern of you know, making
a throw. But again, again, the game's not routes on air.
But uh, I'm excited. It feels good to have teammates
that I played with. I've been in the huddle with JT.
I've been in the huddle with Quintin, I've been in
the huddle with Pitt and Mow and these guys. I've
been in there with him, and so something about that

(01:40:54):
feels like crap, has it been five years? Like dang,
everything feels the same. And uh again, I'm I'm not
naive to the challenge that's ahead at all, but I
really I keep saying, keep it that simple. I'm trying
to keep it that simple, you know. And I know
that the NFL is a big deal in this and
it can be of whatever it can be, But to me,
it's like, hey, you get to play football, potentially for

(01:41:15):
four more weeks and maybe then some And as long
as I can live with the results, both good or bad,
and go back home and move on, then I was
willing to go for it, and I was able to
get to that place mentally.

Speaker 6 (01:41:31):
But I thought he was just I thought he was
just going to help.

Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
I saw where they were saying he could play this
weekend against the Seahawks.

Speaker 6 (01:41:40):
What a story.

Speaker 10 (01:41:43):
Apparently he knows that offense already. That playbook five yearsly
hasn't been outter.

Speaker 2 (01:41:48):
He's forty four. I know he's been coaching high school football.
You want to get he've been keeping in shape. Maybe
I don't know. Like he said he can throw it.
I know he can throw it. But there's so much more.
You want to get lost in some reels. His trash
talking reels.

Speaker 6 (01:42:02):
Oh they're great. Those highlights, they're they're finding, they're great, funny, he's.

Speaker 2 (01:42:05):
A trash talker.

Speaker 5 (01:42:06):
We talk so much.

Speaker 2 (01:42:07):
So, guys, I'm gonna say this again, do y'all realize
that there are like some really young, big, strong, fast,
defensive people out there that a forty four year old
man who's somebody's granddad, And I mean this, this is
I didn't know this, like you were saying, Greg and
I were talking about this on the way to to
the restroom a couple of breaks ago. This is like

(01:42:30):
I'm watching a Disney movie. Yeah, you know, it feels
like the rookie you remember that.

Speaker 6 (01:42:36):
I mean, we're hey, our.

Speaker 2 (01:42:37):
Coach who coached us this season to the semi finals
in the off season went to play for the Colts.
What are we talking about? I mean, and now, I
don't I think the odds of this are pretty low.
But what what what if he got on some kind
of runt. I mean, they got a good team, I mean,
but but I mean it's I don't know if they're
that good to to overcome losing not one, but two quarterbacks.

Speaker 6 (01:43:01):
And so in the three slot is the kid from
Notre Dame?

Speaker 2 (01:43:04):
Is that right?

Speaker 6 (01:43:05):
That used to be at Alabama?

Speaker 2 (01:43:06):
Well he's not hurt.

Speaker 6 (01:43:07):
But didn't he hurt too? Yeah he is?

Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
Is anybody not hurt other than other than Philip Rivers?

Speaker 6 (01:43:16):
I think they were down to four and so where
we're pulling up practice squad.

Speaker 2 (01:43:21):
Guys. Now, by the way, Babylon B, you're ready for
You're ready for this one. Now, keep in mind he's
the father of ten Okay Babylon b. Have you've seen
this one Indianapolis coach debut new trick play where Philip
Rivers fakes hand off the running back runs off the
field to get his wife pregnant again.

Speaker 6 (01:43:39):
Oh right.

Speaker 5 (01:43:45):
I can't find it, but there's a tweet that was
talking about how Tom Brady was talking about this and
saying this is a bad look for the NFL because
it shows that they're not their Their QB culture is
not where it needs to be. The fact that Philip Rivers,
oh wow, is being brought back. Tom Brady says, they're
not developing the quarterbacks like they need to. You get

(01:44:08):
these young quarterbacks out there and they look at these
defenses and they have no idea what they're looking at,
and a lot of times that's the problem. They don't
have the mental game that they need to have. The
physical game might be there, but the mental game isn't there.
That's Tom Brady's paraphrasing. I'm paraphrasing by the Adler.

Speaker 6 (01:44:26):
You just wade into sports talk and it wasn't bad.

Speaker 2 (01:44:28):
Hey, I just.

Speaker 5 (01:44:29):
Copied it from the internet.

Speaker 2 (01:44:30):
If it doesn't count, you think back to when we
were growing up a college quarterbacks going to the NFL
normally didn't start.

Speaker 6 (01:44:38):
No, now they day one, they may be right to
the top.

Speaker 2 (01:44:43):
And it sounds like Tom Brady is saying that's a
bad plan, that's a bad system, because it is a
whole different world. These complicated defenses, these complicated coverages and
blitz packages, you know in the defensive line, with the
things they can do now, and they're so athletic, and
you're having to make these decisions quicker than you've ever
had to make them in your life.

Speaker 6 (01:45:04):
Yea of the game. I think that does take time.

Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
I think now they throw it and then you give
them two maybe three years, and if they don't pan out,
they're done.

Speaker 6 (01:45:13):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:45:13):
By the way, how do you feel if you're Cam
Newton and they overlooked you for Philip Rivers.

Speaker 6 (01:45:18):
Are Kaepernick? So this surely this is gonna bring Kaepernick
back again. They went with an old white man when
here I was yeah, you know, yeah, so.

Speaker 2 (01:45:27):
It looks like my parents that basically gave me a
great life, and then I rejected them.

Speaker 10 (01:45:31):
So you bring up some quarterback, let's say from I
don't know, UFL or whatever that's that's got the younger
body and all this kind of stuff, but he doesn't
know the offense. Now you're trying to do a crash
course or whatever. Well, apparently, according to JJ Watt, and
this is what he put out, is that Philip Rivers

(01:45:51):
ran the same offense as the Colts run for Gunner
High School, for Gunner's high school team, which is his son,
So he knows this offense extremely well. So you're bringing
in somebody that knows the offense so you don't have
to teach the offense. And if you can just manage
the huddle and manage the offense, then we have a
better shot than bringing in somebody that's younger that doesn't

(01:46:13):
know the offense and they don't know the plays or anything,
and they're having to learn it in a week, all right,
So maybe that's maybe that's some of the stuff behind
why they brought him up.

Speaker 6 (01:46:23):
He's learning it. He's four years older than you, and
he's about to go playing the NFL again.

Speaker 5 (01:46:28):
Four years older, that's a long four years.

Speaker 3 (01:46:30):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
Is a former he's a former successful NFL quarterback. So
he's not like just any random forty four year old man. Sure,
but still forty four is forty four and you know,
I don't know that he had the regiment that Tom
Brady had.

Speaker 6 (01:46:45):
How old was Brady on his last year? Close?

Speaker 11 (01:46:48):
Right?

Speaker 5 (01:46:48):
People are joking that Tom Brady's looking at his helmet
like the Hobgoblin and Spider Man like trying to thinking
about putting it back on. That's funny.

Speaker 6 (01:46:56):
How old is Aaron Rodgers. He's in his forties, right,
early forties, I think. So Tom Brady retired from the
NFL at forty five. Okay, okay, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
So he's forty eight now, So finally Tom Brady has
been deemed too old. But the story here, yeah he's
forty four, but he hadn't played in five years? Yes, right,
if he had continued Like I said, you got Aaron
Rodgers tom Brady, I was just in the high school
playoffs coaching. Yeah, I mean I'm not like, yeah, I
am sure he's like I say, I fly. Oh, you know,

(01:47:26):
he's in his forties, right, And it's a little bit
different that I've got my high school team running the
coach offense as opposed to it, and I haven't played
quarterbacking the coach. Yeah, I haven't done it in five years? Right,
And with a headset on. Nobody's chased me, that's right,
But but this is well good for him, I hope No,
there's a you know, I think there's a potential really

(01:47:48):
really cool story here or a really.

Speaker 6 (01:47:50):
Really bad one.

Speaker 2 (01:47:51):
And I'm trying to think our wives were grandparents. Now
we're going to go back onto the field. Oh, by
the way, you've stuck with me. I've gone through this
entire career without having really a maiming injury. But I'm
gonna go back out there at forty four and play
a little more against the Seahawks this Sunday.

Speaker 6 (01:48:11):
Surely he's not playing this Sunday, but they're talking about it.

Speaker 1 (01:48:13):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. It's time for the
most dangerous ten minutes in radio. Unscreened phone calls.

Speaker 2 (01:48:34):
Call No.

Speaker 1 (01:48:36):
Two five five three zero one thousand and get on
the show.

Speaker 2 (01:48:42):
Remember that new number that Kenny just gave you. That
is two five five three zero one thousand. That's the
number we use for the rest of the years. We
wind down the first every year of the Rick Burgess Show,
and then Lord Willing, after the Christmas Party on the
air next Friday, we will go on a little nice

(01:49:05):
sabbatical all of us enjoy the Christmas and New Year holidays,
and then we'll come running back here on the fifth
of January, draw back like a flip, and ready for
a big year in twenty twenty six. So here we go.

Speaker 6 (01:49:19):
We we just we just screened these on the fly.

Speaker 2 (01:49:21):
You know, nothing between us but air waves and opportunity,
and we rode through your calls as they come in,
making decisions on them on the fly. We start here. Hello,
welcome to the Rick Burgess Show. Unscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 13 (01:49:38):
Hello, Hello, I was just calling, yes, calling for the contest.

Speaker 6 (01:49:45):
Yeah, this is nothing, this is no, this is unscreened
phone calls. Said. Hey, that's the way to be on
top of it, though, I said, way to be ready,
really good job.

Speaker 2 (01:49:55):
That's gentle, would well, I mean, look what you want. No,
I found out today and hard, hard way that we're dealing.
You know, we come from a harder generation. You know,
we're a little more callous, a little tougher. Uh, not
as not as sensitive.

Speaker 13 (01:50:11):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:50:11):
And And I'm and I'm learning that when I have
to handle these other generations, they have to be handled,
they have to be called a little more. And it's
not natural to me, but I'm learning. And and Greg,
you're you're doing pretty okay. And then Adler, even though
he's only forty, he's been around us so much. He
seems like he's from our generation. Yeah, he's kind of.
He's an old soul. Yeah, we continue. Rick Burgess Show,

(01:50:35):
unscreen phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 16 (01:50:38):
Hang on, tak it a grig.

Speaker 6 (01:50:43):
Rick Burgess Show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 16 (01:50:47):
Good morning, guys, this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
We're good. I hope very well.

Speaker 16 (01:50:51):
Right, I got a question about sealing rivers. Okay, what
do you what do you think they gonna him to
pay play one game or maybe four games?

Speaker 2 (01:51:03):
It's a good question. Have we seen this discuss deal?
We've seen his package? We have not, Rick, Well, just
wait till Sunday. Uh okay, well we uh we continue.
Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls. Go ahead, all right, Rick, Yeah,
me and old lady, we've done. We don't pull together

(01:51:24):
as much welfare money as we can. We uh we
uh we are continuing. Hello, Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls,
Go ahead. Who's Ray from a pet to take?

Speaker 7 (01:51:44):
Come on?

Speaker 6 (01:51:44):
Everybody knows who Ray Finkle?

Speaker 5 (01:51:47):
Harness.

Speaker 2 (01:51:48):
That's good. Rick Burgers Show, unscreen phone calls go ahead.

Speaker 16 (01:51:53):
Hey, I just want to say, Addler don't have to
apologize for nothing.

Speaker 8 (01:51:56):
Man, he was just teaching that kid.

Speaker 7 (01:51:58):
About that time.

Speaker 6 (01:51:59):
Thank thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:52:01):
Well it's sat tire.

Speaker 6 (01:52:02):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
Actually took five calls. We thought it would be the
first call. Yeah, we continue. Rick Birder's show, unscreen phone calls,
go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:52:12):
Rock Ti.

Speaker 2 (01:52:15):
I didn't understand him trying to. We only got one
good We've got a good carl, and once we get
a good carl, when ones established, other carls should not
be attempted.

Speaker 6 (01:52:24):
That's right, okay. Rick Birder's Show, unscreen phone calls, go.

Speaker 7 (01:52:27):
Ahead, Yes, sir, how y'all doing this for?

Speaker 6 (01:52:30):
I hope, we hope we're doing well. It it feels
like I'm okay, what about you?

Speaker 7 (01:52:34):
Well, I'm doing good. About to merge on the two
eighty right here, So y'all wish me look real quick. Yeah,
I just want to say I'm twenty years old, and
I don't know how old this kid is, but I
think y'all need to keep going.

Speaker 15 (01:52:45):
In on it.

Speaker 7 (01:52:46):
We need some tougher skin regardless of generation to skin
is generational. I think yes, I think we just need
to keep it going, Well, it's like I got a text.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
You know, it doesn't take much. You know, if you
just live at all in this world that's falling, you're
gonna you're gonna face difficulty. And I had somebody, you know,
text me a minute, go very kind, say hey man,
you know, I know, I know there's been some things
throughout the year that have been tough on you. And
I just sent back, Hey, life ain't for sissis m.

Speaker 6 (01:53:13):
Is, It really isn't.

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
I mean, you know, like we talked about with the
Spiritual Warfare podcast we're doing. You know, when there's a
war waiting on people out there and you don't prepare
them for it, it's dangerous.

Speaker 6 (01:53:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
And when there's life out there and we don't prepare,
uh those that it's our job to prepare for what's
out there. The battle doesn't change. It's just whether you
sent them into that battle equipped or not. The battle's
gonna be there, whether you equip them or not.

Speaker 11 (01:53:40):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (01:53:40):
So so so you're right, we all need to probably
be tough enough a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:53:46):
Uh we continue, Rick Bird, just show unscreen phone calls
go ahead, hello, ye lou. But at the same time,
it's also not weak to apologize to people if you've
upset them, if that, if that can help, Uh, we continue,
Rick bird your show, unscreen phone calls, go ahead, Are

(01:54:06):
you all good?

Speaker 7 (01:54:08):
I got a couple of players.

Speaker 8 (01:54:09):
I've been listening to Rick and Bubba bestas every week,
and Speedy has been a thinking and thinking since way back.

Speaker 2 (01:54:15):
And number two.

Speaker 8 (01:54:17):
Number two, why I kid have cheated?

Speaker 2 (01:54:19):
It matter terrible person?

Speaker 5 (01:54:22):
He says he didn't cheat.

Speaker 6 (01:54:24):
That it's funny. Look, it's funny and he didn't.

Speaker 2 (01:54:27):
He just had some fun with it. It was all
in good fun like he was some times. There's there's
friendly fire understood. Rick Birder's show. Unscreen phone calls, go ahead,
So yes, you're on the Rick Birders Show.

Speaker 6 (01:54:42):
Go ahead.

Speaker 7 (01:54:43):
Hey, I just wanted to say I appreciate y'all's show.

Speaker 11 (01:54:46):
I'm I'm a college student, thank you, and I've been
studying for exams and I just appreciate y'all giving me
something to enjoy during this time of struggle during college.

Speaker 6 (01:54:58):
I know, you know, it's so rare.

Speaker 2 (01:55:00):
It's so rare that we are thanked for helping people
study to get their college degree. That's a rare known
for that.

Speaker 6 (01:55:07):
That's a rare one. Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (01:55:09):
Studying Oh gosh, I don't miss that now, Rick Burgess show,
unscreen phone calls, go ahead.

Speaker 8 (01:55:17):
Yeah, y'all, y'all got on mama's package.

Speaker 16 (01:55:19):
But I want to notice speedy get my package.

Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
If you sent your stuff back in We did not, buddy,
But I appreciate that. The By the way, did you
you know I just pretended that studying was hard.

Speaker 6 (01:55:32):
As if I did it.

Speaker 13 (01:55:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:55:35):
Yeah, that's why I was there for two semesters. You
were seeing like people in college. You knew they'd be like, yeah,
we're going to the library to study. We got big
tests and be like, really.

Speaker 6 (01:55:43):
Why are you doing that?

Speaker 2 (01:55:44):
That's that.

Speaker 6 (01:55:45):
Let me tell you one thing went into the library,
mister studdy, look about this. I'm not proud of this.
I'm not proud of this at all.

Speaker 2 (01:55:52):
If I lived in modern time, it may be that
professors can catch the chat GPT or the gronk papers,
but they gonna get a shot at it.

Speaker 6 (01:56:01):
No, yeah, we're gonna say how good.

Speaker 2 (01:56:03):
We're gonna see how good they are because that you
talk about convenient. Uh we continue, Rick Bird your show,
unscreen phone calls, go.

Speaker 6 (01:56:10):
Ahead, gentlemen, how are you all this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:56:13):
I hope you're well.

Speaker 8 (01:56:15):
I am living the dream. Hey, I got two quick things.

Speaker 2 (01:56:18):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (01:56:18):
You had one of your gentlemen to come up and
do a man churchip in hearts for a while back.
And he had a study Bible, like of the study
the people that was in it was like really early
church elders. Did the study part any idea what that
Bible's called? And I got one other thing.

Speaker 6 (01:56:31):
That had who did you?

Speaker 2 (01:56:32):
Who did you have? Who was it?

Speaker 1 (01:56:33):
I can't remember.

Speaker 8 (01:56:35):
I'm trying to remember, and I'm just playing for God.
But he had like a bible that had the study
stuff was like from really early church elders, not nothing modern. No,
I didn't know if you could.

Speaker 6 (01:56:46):
I don't.

Speaker 8 (01:56:46):
All right, Well, besides that, can you guys do a
Freedom of Information Act and get the mugshot of Adler's
deer humping?

Speaker 1 (01:56:58):
Can that?

Speaker 2 (01:56:59):
Could that be in the same call?

Speaker 1 (01:57:00):
It is that legal?

Speaker 6 (01:57:02):
It's men's ministry, it is.

Speaker 3 (01:57:05):
Not.

Speaker 6 (01:57:05):
It's not youth, it's not women, it's men's ministry.

Speaker 2 (01:57:09):
No, I wasn't expecting that kind of let my guard down. Well,
I mean, and look, well that story was told by
worship leader though, so in those days they don't do
pictures of that.

Speaker 6 (01:57:19):
Didn't they.

Speaker 5 (01:57:20):
You know, I don't think they took my picture of
that time. That time well, I mean not that yeah,
not that time.

Speaker 2 (01:57:27):
Yeah. Okay, top of the hour, the show rolls on.

Speaker 6 (01:57:33):
Stay with us, We'll hear right magic.

Speaker 1 (01:57:36):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, America. Are you ready
for more of the Rick Burger Show?

Speaker 6 (01:57:55):
Here we go, Thank you for being with us America.

Speaker 2 (01:57:58):
A brand new hour and if you have missed any
of the show today, catch the archives either on the
YouTube channel or our podcast channel. Speedy Greg Adler all here.
Still to come more of the Christmas Cash countdown. We
still have an opportunity for somebody to win five hundred

(01:58:18):
and ninety nine dollars. That's coming up today. Still hasn't
happened on the program. But this time of year also
time for us to kind of reflect on.

Speaker 6 (01:58:27):
A number of things.

Speaker 2 (01:58:29):
And you know, when we start thinking about the gift
that was given to the world, and that was the
sacrifice to free us all from the bondage of sin,
God showing his mercy and his grace, and then, as
we were always taught, don't deny that same grace that
we were not denied to other people, and there's so

(01:58:51):
many ways we can do that, but let me tell
you there's an opportunity right now. Jimmy Hall Mission Executive
Director Parn Carroll is back.

Speaker 6 (01:59:00):
Welcome back, Thank you, it's good to be back. Good
to see you.

Speaker 2 (01:59:03):
And so what we're talking about are the Christian missions
all over the country, and you guys are located in
our home market to Birmingham, Alabama, but the Citygate Network
with citygatenetwork dot org is also a place where you
can go to find a Christian mission near you. Jimmy
Hellmission dot com, of course, is the one that you

(01:59:25):
are the executive director and we've worked in work with
for many years. It's one of those things where we're
excited that it's this time of year, but we also
have to recognize that for the least of these those
that are trying to put their life back together are
sometimes things beyond even their own control have put them

(01:59:49):
in a situation where they're homeless, and by the grace
of God, places like Jimmy Hell Mission and Jesse's Place
are available to people who need help. So kind of
give us an update on the things that are going
on during this time of year that need to be addressed.

Speaker 14 (02:00:08):
It's a very busy time of the year. Not only
are the needs greater than ever with our economy and
some things going on in our country, but now, as
you were talking about earlier, you know, the weather's starting
to dip down when it's seventeen degrees outside. People need
a place to go, a place of refuge when they
don't have an end. There's no room at the end

(02:00:29):
that they don't have an end, So we become that
end for them to see the love of Christ. But
it's more than just a hot and a cot. That's
the entry point. But in order to assist someone in
changing their life, it takes addiction recovery services, it takes

(02:00:50):
mental health services, job readiness services. We call it our
back to Life University because some of the folks that
we see they have have that raising that we talk
about that we were fortunate to get from our parents.
They need life skills to enable them to return to
be contributing members of the community.

Speaker 6 (02:01:12):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (02:01:13):
And that's the goal. You know, everybody needs to do
what you feel led to do about the person that
you just kind of that comes through your life, you know,
and all the things of going what else should I
should I is this person? A lot of times if
the investment in the mission in a place like Jimmy
Hell mission is what you're talking about, we do this,

(02:01:34):
we have done this before, because I want to be
part of something that says we're not just going to
make sure this person gets a sandwich today and then
they're still in the same position they were in because
they're just going to need another sandwich right here in
a few in several hours or again tomorrow. We're looking
to say, let's help you get back on your feet fully.
Let's help you recover if it's if that's the case,

(02:01:55):
Let's get you the help you need if it's something mental,
and then let's also give you job training so that
you can be Like you said, this is putting you
back to be a functioning person.

Speaker 6 (02:02:06):
The goal is we don't want this person to need
you anymore.

Speaker 14 (02:02:09):
That's exactly right.

Speaker 6 (02:02:10):
Yeah, but there's but there's got to be a system.

Speaker 5 (02:02:13):
There is.

Speaker 14 (02:02:14):
We're part of their journey. And in the last year,
you know, we've served in our programs almost six hundred people,
that's six hundred lives changed, six hundred individuals reunited with
family back right spiritually, which quite from it. It's the

(02:02:34):
not so secret sauce. And I'm not gonna lie about that.
That's what makes the difference. Anybody can provide a bed,
but getting someone right with the Lord and helping them
make that reconnection or connection is is going to help
them long term, not just in this life but in
internal life. But you know, having someone return to the community,

(02:02:57):
and we love our lum come back all the time.
They come back and volunteer, They mentor our clients who
are currently in the program because they want to see
other people have that same experience.

Speaker 6 (02:03:10):
That they've had. Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:03:11):
You know, And if I could encourage some of you
out there, because I think most people out there, when
you hear something like this, your heart is, yeah, you're right.
You don't have to convince me that I need to help.
If I can, I just don't really know how to
do it. I don't want you to overcomplicate it, because
you certainly can invest financially into the system.

Speaker 6 (02:03:29):
That's already going and that is the greatest need.

Speaker 2 (02:03:33):
But you know, one of the things that some of
these people are looking for, and you know, I think
what we all need to understand if you go to
the foot of the cross. That's where true equality is.
Every single person. I don't care how nice a jacket
you have on and how warm you are. Without God's
mercy and grace, you have no hope. We're all in

(02:03:56):
equal need of God's mercy and grace. At the foot
of the cross, right next to the homeless person, that's
where it's all equal.

Speaker 14 (02:04:02):
I couldn't have said it better.

Speaker 6 (02:04:03):
Yeah, and so, But the thing that I was.

Speaker 2 (02:04:06):
So surprised by in the times that our family has
had the honor of being there is how many times,
and I'm always working with the men, of course, how
many times the man who's in this desperate place just
is moved by the fact that anybody cared. You know,

(02:04:27):
think about that, because all of us out there, we're
pretty fortunate. We may not have everything, but we have
people who care about us, who love us. I hope
you do. But sometimes one of the gifts that has
the biggest impact is you mean you took time to
spend time with me today when you could have been
doing so many other things. Sometimes that gives them that

(02:04:47):
glimmer of hope. Okay, so there's somebody who cares about me.
Have you ever thought I mean, you think about drug addictions,
thing about mental health, you think about economic collapse, but
have you ever thought about what it means to people
just to have some somebody say I actually right to
see you today and I care about you.

Speaker 14 (02:05:03):
It all starts with hope, and you hit the nail
on the head, Rick, because so many that we see
have never had anyone to care about them. And that's
a foreign concept to most of us because we grew
up in families they weren't perfect, but we loved each other.
We mucked through things, but we did it together and
you knew there was somebody that was going to have

(02:05:24):
your back to the best of their ability. But we
see so many that have never had that, and that's
that's terrible.

Speaker 2 (02:05:32):
I think to myself, how fortunate I am that when
anytime calamity has come into my life and it touches
all of us at some point you're either in it,
or you've been in it, or it's coming to different degrees.
Is thinking on my phone. I have so many people
that at two am in the morning, I can call

(02:05:53):
for help. Imagine if you didn't have one, yeah, not one,
and you're in this dire situation.

Speaker 6 (02:06:00):
You don't know where to turn. That's strong.

Speaker 14 (02:06:03):
Yeah, turned to Jimmy Hill mission.

Speaker 2 (02:06:05):
Yeah, And I was talking to guys that do a
lot of work, you know, on the streets, and they
talk about winter, and they say, winter is a different
deal A lot of times. These many women, the weather's comfortable,
they can stay on the street a little longer, they
can keep themselves somewhat comfortable. But they said, even trying

(02:06:25):
to go and meet with them, they have to get
to shelter before that sun goes down, because now the
temperature is going to start dropping to the point that
it's dangerous for them to be out in the elements.
And that's another thing. This shelter part is really important.

Speaker 14 (02:06:41):
You know, we're the warming station for Birmingham. And you
think Birmingham, Alabama, it's a south it doesn't get that cold, but.

Speaker 5 (02:06:45):
It really does.

Speaker 19 (02:06:46):
And when it does, it's actually brutal because it's wet. Yeah,
it's wet. It's miserable, it's dangerous. We had people in
Birmingham that died of hypothermia last year, died on the street,
elderly people, disabled people. That shouldn't happen in the United
States of America.

Speaker 14 (02:07:04):
We provided over four thousand bed nights in our warming
shelter last year alone, and you know, fortunately so far
this year it's been relatively mild, but we know it's
starting this weekend. It's gonna be a long winter once
it starts.

Speaker 2 (02:07:17):
Yeah, they're talking about where we are. It's going to
get as low as seventeen by Sunday night and the Monday.
So I want to come back, and I want to
I want to now go into move into action, and
that is the things that out there. They're like, all right,
I've heard this, I'm considering this, I'm looking at this.
What are the things that need to be done and
we'll kind of walk through that the services and how

(02:07:40):
you can be part of that. You know, take a
moment to kind of start praying about that on what
you can do, and we'll give you some of those
opportunities when we come back.

Speaker 6 (02:07:48):
Stay closer.

Speaker 1 (02:07:51):
This is the Rick Burgess Show speaking sense of it all,
The Rick Show.

Speaker 6 (02:08:13):
Merry Christmas.

Speaker 2 (02:08:15):
We're back and we are discussing this wonderful time of year.
There's never a better time of year to kind of ponder,
be grateful for what we have and also think about
the gift that the world received when God came to
us and we could not come to him and to
redeem the world for all who are willing to repent

(02:08:37):
and turn to Him. And you know, when you think
about all the things that have happened in all of
our lives, if it weren't for grace and mercy, where
would any of us be? And we're talking to Parent.
Carol Parent is the executive director of Jimmy Hell Mission.
Jimmy Hell Mission is a Christian mission in Birmingham, Alabama.

(02:08:58):
So when you start thinking about you guys coming up,
like how many meals we all be serving over Christmas?
And all that night will all be cranking out hundreds.

Speaker 14 (02:09:07):
Christmas Day we will serve over seven hundred and fifty meals.
We serve all of the men, women and children in
our programs. We also deliver over three hundred meals to
our whole county to the homebound seniors who won't see
anyone else on Christmas Day. So we deliver a nice, warm,
full Christmas dinner, beautiful little place matt that was colored

(02:09:31):
by our elementary school children, and some little goodies just
to make them feel like they're not forgotten and their.

Speaker 2 (02:09:37):
Love to because the holidays can be the most wonderful
time of year, or it can be you know, you
see this all the time, it can be one of
those times where it's very depressing, very lonely, Yeah, very
lonely for people because they feel isolated. And you guys
do a great job of not just taking care of
their physical needs, but also their spiritual needs. In the

(02:09:58):
Hope of Christ, we talked about going to the break
and we talked about a call to action. So tell
the audience right now, all of us are like, all right,
what can I do to help? These are incredible services.
Sadly they're needed services, and you guys are full right now.
We are and hoping we have projects in the future

(02:10:19):
where maybe we can have more room, we can have
emergency more emergency warming stations. And what does short term
shelters too for people? What's the need for the future
as far as facility.

Speaker 14 (02:10:30):
The need for the future is an emergency plus shelter,
not just a flop house, but a place to come
in and receive case management and assessment. What do you
need to escape homelessness? Is it an ID so you
can get a job? Is it mental health care? Is
it addiction recovery. Gotcha, is it some type of job

(02:10:51):
readiness training because maybe technology left you behind and you
need to get back to work and get back on
your feet and to prove I have those needs on
an individual basis, so that people can, you know, be
their best self.

Speaker 6 (02:11:05):
So I'm out. I know that we and we're not
saying this as if well, I guess you could pray
if you want to.

Speaker 2 (02:11:13):
But one of the things that's desperately needed is we
need all these people of faith all across this country
that are catching this show to add this to what
you pray about.

Speaker 14 (02:11:22):
We believe in prayer, and we ask we covet your
prayers for Jimmy Hill mission, for the staff that works
tirelessly all through the year. I mean, they really pour
out everything that they have, and for those that we serve,
pray that they would come with open hearts, willing to
put in the work that it takes. Pray for those

(02:11:43):
who are trying to make that decision to come. Pray
for their long term success because we're not about numbers.
Everything that we do is completely free, completely free, and
so we're about long term transformational change in people's life.
It's not about numbers.

Speaker 2 (02:12:01):
Well, it's provided for free. These meals are provided for free,
but they're not free. So now let's talk about the
overhead and the cost and how people can help.

Speaker 14 (02:12:13):
You know, we all go to the grocery store. You
know what the cost our utility costs, food cost, the
whole works. So if you are able, you know, God's
given us the ultimate gift and his son who came
to die for us, what a gift? Can we pass
a little bit of that on because it all belongs
to him anyway to help our fellow man to do

(02:12:35):
what he commands, which is to help the needy, and
we make that very easy. You can go right to
Jimmy Hill Mission dot com and that's j I M
M I E H A L E Mission dot com.
You can give right online. We obviously take cash, but
we'll also securities if you're trying to avoid that capital
gain at the end of the year for your taxes.

(02:12:57):
We take gifts of stock and securities, real estate, vehicles.
It's wonderful. We don't have a great transportation system, so
we provide transportation to people getting back to work, but
it's wonderful if we can you give someone who's earned
it a vehicle so that they can get back to
and from work, to and from medical appointments. So we're

(02:13:19):
equipped right online to do all that. Or give us
a call and we'll help you out. If you've got
a piece of real estate that you want a gift,
take that too.

Speaker 6 (02:13:29):
So let's talk about volunteering. What are some ways that
I could be hands on.

Speaker 14 (02:13:35):
We need volunteers year round, Like you say, that provides
that reconnection and hope to the individual as we serve.
So you can go right online and sign up. You
can come and serve a meal. You don't even have
to bring the food. That's not the point. But it's
the eye contact, it's the smile. It's someone to sit
down at the end of the meal and say, how
are you doing? Come serve. It's a great family activity.

(02:14:00):
You're behind a serving line, but you're you're still making
connection there. We always need help in our clothes closet,
you know, organizing the clothes.

Speaker 6 (02:14:09):
Women love that, you know.

Speaker 14 (02:14:10):
We love to get in the closet and do work
like that and and get everything nice and neat for
people to come get clothes that they need. We need
people to come teach Bible studies. We have a job readiness,
come into a client, help them prepare for interviews. It's
just reconnecting with community and with those who have you know,

(02:14:33):
just lost lost their way.

Speaker 2 (02:14:36):
So when you mentioned the clothing, so we can also
physically donate items, yes you can.

Speaker 14 (02:14:42):
You can drive right up and we'll unload them for
you and provides you with your receipt. You don't even
have to get out of the car.

Speaker 6 (02:14:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:14:49):
As a matter of fact, we did that with you know,
when my dad passed a couple of years ago. You know,
we all got the stuff that we agreed on that,
you know, and he would have loved for that to
be the use of a lot of his clothing.

Speaker 6 (02:15:01):
And it was so simple. We just brought it down there.

Speaker 2 (02:15:03):
The guys came out, even some of the clients, and
unloaded all that. And now knowing that you know, somebody
that maybe needed to jacket or needed a nice flannel
shirt or some jeans or something, you know that, you know,
when our family didn't need them anymore, it's still you know,
being it's a big deal to someone that doesn't have
those things.

Speaker 14 (02:15:22):
That's a wonderful way to honor your father too. I
think he would really be happening.

Speaker 6 (02:15:27):
I totally agree with that. I totally agree with that.

Speaker 2 (02:15:29):
So well, if you want to find out more work,

Speaker 6 (02:15:35):

guys continue to do. I hope one day that it's
not needed, but I have a feeling that's gonna be
and be when Christ returns.

Speaker 6 (02:16:10):
But he said until then, it's always gonna be with you.

Speaker 2 (02:16:13):
So to go out and be the hands and feet
of Jesus. And what we do to the least of these,
Christ says, that's what you do to me. Bottom of
the hour, will be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:16:26):

for one shot. You can start and work your way,

(02:24:38):

Speaker 2 (02:26:04):

Speaker 10 (02:28:38):
Let me tell you what this show. Let me tell
you what the show does to everybody that's involved with it.
Our own accountant is raising on us. That's what we
we spill off into.

Speaker 2 (02:28:48):
It's just not just like.

Speaker 10 (02:28:49):
Gary or you know some of our other buddies. Our
accountant is dog in us. Yes for you missing those shots?

Speaker 6 (02:28:56):
How about this?

Speaker 2 (02:28:57):
He's you can't you can't make him happy. Somebody wins
and he's like, you're giving them what too much money?
Then somebody doesn't win and he gets on you for
somebody not winning. I don't know how to make him happy.
I just think it's fun should associated with this show.
Just hey, just hard it is, and that's the reason
why people get hurt. They come in here thinking they
can play with us, and we end up being too

(02:29:19):
harsh to people that don't.

Speaker 6 (02:29:20):
Don't do this.

Speaker 2 (02:29:20):
Every day I'll say what big time Rush can do.
And he's been getting them. Ten ninety nine's out mm hmm,
So so there we go. Oh, even Nator's got some coming.
You too, care for what you'll see?

Speaker 12 (02:29:32):
Night?

Speaker 2 (02:29:33):
All right?

Speaker 6 (02:29:33):
Soe that look disgusted?

Speaker 2 (02:29:38):
Look all right?

Speaker 6 (02:29:40):
So what what is this thing?

Speaker 13 (02:29:42):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (02:29:43):
That trump?

Speaker 6 (02:29:44):
Has just launched the Trump Gold Card. What what what
is that?

Speaker 5 (02:29:47):
Well, you've heard of a green card?

Speaker 2 (02:29:49):
Yeah? Also that Trump watch you had, So all the
funds go to the United States government, and he thinks
he can raise a tremendous amount of money.

Speaker 6 (02:29:57):
Of course he does.

Speaker 13 (02:29:58):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:29:59):
And it's so so we just did we put money
like a credit card on this card for the government.

Speaker 5 (02:30:06):
Oh no, it's a it's a like citizenship card.

Speaker 2 (02:30:09):
Huh.

Speaker 5 (02:30:09):
Yeah, you've heard of a green card like getting this
is a gold.

Speaker 10 (02:30:13):
Card that he announced like a year year so ago,
where you pay fifty thousand or something.

Speaker 6 (02:30:17):
I don't know what number it was.

Speaker 5 (02:30:19):
I think it's one hundred, one hundred now yeah, yeah.

Speaker 10 (02:30:21):
Yeah, and you moved to the front, get on end, okay,
because you're bringing something to the table, all right, So
like that, I remember him.

Speaker 6 (02:30:28):
Talking a lot after that.

Speaker 7 (02:30:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:30:30):
Wow, okay, there's all kinds of discriminated I'm getting all
kinds of numbers here from fifteen thousand okay, So there
is a fifteen thousand dollars non refundable application processing fee.

Speaker 6 (02:30:47):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (02:30:47):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (02:30:48):
And then now if now it looks like it's a
million dollars and you become a an individual becomes a
citizen after vetting.

Speaker 6 (02:30:57):
Okay, I'm good with this. Okay, is this true? Talking
about it?

Speaker 5 (02:31:00):
Yes, yeah, So hopefully he can explain it better than
I did. Probably No, probably not. Here we go here
is check it out.

Speaker 15 (02:31:07):
Excitingly for me and for the country. We've just launched
the Trump Gold Card.

Speaker 16 (02:31:14):
It was.

Speaker 15 (02:31:17):
About thirty minutes from now. The site goes up and
all funds go to the United States government. Could be
a tremendous amount of money. It'll also be able to
people like this keep as an example of just one example.
There are a lot of examples people just buying them.
It's somewhat like a green card, but with big advantages

(02:31:38):
over a green card. And company is going to be
able to go to the Working School of Finance, the
Stern Business School, Harvard, Mit, whatever, you may get your students,
any school, and you're able to buy a card and

(02:31:58):
keep that person in the United States.

Speaker 6 (02:32:00):
Actually say the certain day because a lot.

Speaker 15 (02:32:02):
Of I've heard from Tim Cook of Apple, and I've
heard from a lot of people, some of the people
at this table that essentially in the United States, you
can't keep the student, you can't hire people from the
best college is because you don't know whether or not
you can keep the person. They come and have the
people get out. They throw the person out of the country.

(02:32:23):
You graduate number one from your college, and there's no
way of guaranteeing I guess you could say there's no
way of guaranteeing that they're able to stay in the country.

Speaker 6 (02:32:33):
Interesting, well, pay a fee and they get to stay
and then you can hire them. There you go.

Speaker 5 (02:32:39):
I was mentioning, how I know people that came here
and it took them ten years to get their green card.
They came to the United States, got a job in
hospitals as surgeons and doctors, pay taxes, have a family,
took them ten years before they were able to leave
to go back home to take a vacation with their
family outside of the United States. They're doing it the
right way. They contribute, they pay tax they have jobs,

(02:33:01):
they are they are a functioning family unit. They are
good people. They follow the rules, and they're doing it
the right way.

Speaker 6 (02:33:08):
They don't steal your earbudget.

Speaker 5 (02:33:09):
They don't steal your earbuds. Think of the Think of
the amount of people that come into the country and
they leech off the system and they exploit this system,
and they and they commit crimes and then then they
get to stay and they're in the country. How many
of those we have to open this up to people
that have the means and will contribute. I think this
is okay. I think it's okay with me. I don't

(02:33:29):
know what y'all did.

Speaker 6 (02:33:30):
Well, I'm glad you approved it, because I'm sure Trump
was sweating that.

Speaker 5 (02:33:34):
Yes, you know, we're y'all.

Speaker 15 (02:33:36):
Yeah. You know.

Speaker 2 (02:33:37):
One thing we never mentioned speaking of Trump is the
try different ways and have some win wins. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (02:33:43):
The thousand dollars accounts they're going to open up for
for anyone that's born what July of twenty twenty six, Yes,
and on. So whenever you know, if you have a child,
they have you have an account where a thousand dollars
is put in it for that child that you can
invest and that child can see that money growth throughout
his childhood and to his adult life.

Speaker 2 (02:34:03):
To me, this Trump gold card, it's another way. We
said this before. No people, I know people, when you're
against immigration, no, we're against unvetted, illegal, reckless, chaotic immigration, right,
which is not immigration, it's illegal. We've said this over
and over again. I do believe we need to take
to your point at or the one you just made.

(02:34:24):
I think we need to take legal immigration and legal
documentation and make the systems better. And if this makes
that system better, where people who contribute to our society
and make America better can now function in our society
with everything above board, I.

Speaker 6 (02:34:45):
Think that's great.

Speaker 2 (02:34:46):
If we can make that system quicker and more efficient
and at the same time help put money in the
coffers of our own government.

Speaker 5 (02:34:52):
Absolutely and speak to that one thousand dollars child Trump accounts,
like you said, are a pro family initiate, and I
think that's something we need to be focusing on pro
family and to have that that account set up and
then for the rest of that kid's childhood, say around
Christmas time, family members want to add money to that

(02:35:13):
they can. There's money for whatever.

Speaker 1 (02:35:17):
A house.

Speaker 5 (02:35:19):
I would have said college, but not anymore. Honestly, it's
it's it's the kids need the money, the money for
a house. It's what it feels like these days because
nobody can afford one. If you're younger than thirty eight,
it seems like and that's horrible. It's so sad.

Speaker 6 (02:35:34):
When you drew the line at thirty eight.

Speaker 5 (02:35:38):
It's sad, man, it really is. I should I should
include forty year olds because I have many friends that
did not get in before those interest rates rates, interest
rates changed and the size of the house, and that
they can afford couple's cut in half and stand there
and they're still in that spot and to be able
to contribute. And you can learn how compounding interest works

(02:35:58):
and how money works.

Speaker 2 (02:36:01):
Yeah, top of the hour. So there's a Trump God card.
If you got more of the show, hang in there,
we'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (02:36:09):
This is the Rick Burgers Show. You better listen up.

(02:36:30):
You know what we say.

Speaker 2 (02:36:33):
All time, tell you gotta find.

Speaker 13 (02:36:41):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world. The Rick
Burgers Show.

Speaker 2 (02:36:48):
Brand you hour whatever, America. Thanks for being with us,
so much to do all across the country. We've heard
from you today even around the world. Live or archived
all those options. You can find a Rick Burgess Show
dot com. Uh every live option, every archive options. As

(02:37:08):
we moved forward for a brand new hour of speedy,
Greg and Adler all here and ready to go. I
hope you text the word today. I hope you got it.
Random drawing coming up later in this hour. Somebody it's
one hundred bucks. Uh. And there's the chance that we
will do another Christmas cash countdown as well. Could be

(02:37:29):
a one shot could we know the show could be
you know, if you're here in the parking lot, maybe
you roll with Adler. See if you can beat him
in Brazil and jiu jitsu? Yeah, man, I mean well,
I mean I'm thinking of all the ways we can people.

Speaker 5 (02:37:45):
Is that covered in the waiver?

Speaker 6 (02:37:46):
I want to ask you a question. Did you roll
with your friend yesterday?

Speaker 5 (02:37:50):
I was ready? I did not?

Speaker 15 (02:37:53):
Did you meet?

Speaker 2 (02:37:54):
I thought you said y'all were going to roll yesterday
and spar a little bit. What happened in that secret room?

Speaker 5 (02:38:00):
He had something come up he inspired you with I
was ready to go. I texted him gay or no gag?
So would you say I texted him gi or no gee?

Speaker 6 (02:38:08):
Not what you just said. I think a different word
came is.

Speaker 5 (02:38:10):
Gee and no g jiu jitsu where you wear the
robe or not?

Speaker 2 (02:38:13):
So this guy does both?

Speaker 5 (02:38:15):
Yeah, you can do both.

Speaker 2 (02:38:16):
Yeah he's gless.

Speaker 6 (02:38:17):
What would what would be.

Speaker 2 (02:38:18):
The difference in advantage? I mean, why would you pay?
I'm more of a ge. What's that based on?

Speaker 5 (02:38:22):
It's a little bit honestly, gee, if you're wearing the robe,
it is a little bit more traditional, a little more
old school. The new school and the future of jiu
jitsu is no G it is. It's much more dynamic,
it's much more fun to watch. It's easier to slip
out of stuff. You're a little more slippery.

Speaker 2 (02:38:41):
We're talking about shirt and shirt, t shirt and shorts.

Speaker 5 (02:38:44):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you wear a lot of crack shows.

Speaker 2 (02:38:47):
No, no, they could, it could.

Speaker 10 (02:38:49):
That was the advantage of a G would be you
have a little bit more to grab. Yes, you know,
like you could use the gi against the person, right.

Speaker 5 (02:38:56):
Yeah, you can wrap, you can do a cross collar choke,
you can do all kinds of shows.

Speaker 2 (02:39:00):
One I was thinking, yeah, you can do all kinds.
I think he was scared of you, you know, I
don't think he has his bumper and he didn't want
him to know it.

Speaker 15 (02:39:08):
Well.

Speaker 5 (02:39:09):
Yeah, by the way, I put a wreath on the van.

Speaker 2 (02:39:12):
You're not You're not that person. Are you on the
front grill?

Speaker 8 (02:39:15):
Nope?

Speaker 5 (02:39:16):
Back tire?

Speaker 6 (02:39:17):
Okay, tire?

Speaker 2 (02:39:19):
What about.

Speaker 5 (02:39:21):
I've got it's on a it's on a. It's I've
got a ladder on the back and it's got the
spare tire mounted on the back.

Speaker 2 (02:39:28):
Sweet person that looks stuff.

Speaker 8 (02:39:31):
On the car.

Speaker 2 (02:39:31):
I just.

Speaker 5 (02:39:33):
I saw it in the basement. I'm like, you know
what I'm going to do that. You're going to spread
some stinking Christmas cheers.

Speaker 2 (02:39:40):
You get a little wire so you got it up
there with zipto.

Speaker 6 (02:39:43):
So just when you we're the guy trying to be
cool in a giant van, here's no g by the way.
Here you go, here's going put a wreath on it.

Speaker 5 (02:39:53):
Yeah, yeah, here you go. Here's some no ge stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:39:55):
Oh, look at that arm bar.

Speaker 2 (02:39:56):
You don't want I look more comfortable.

Speaker 5 (02:40:01):
Gordon Ryan trying to slip it.

Speaker 2 (02:40:03):
Wow, foot was up in that mouth.

Speaker 5 (02:40:05):
Yeah, it's it's wild, y'all.

Speaker 6 (02:40:07):
A lot of what's a lot of sweat? Though thinks
he looks sharp in the gig? He does?

Speaker 1 (02:40:12):
He does?

Speaker 15 (02:40:15):
You have it with you?

Speaker 6 (02:40:16):
I don't have every time he walks around, you know,
he says, God, I think.

Speaker 5 (02:40:21):
That sometimes I just walk around in it to impress
my wife.

Speaker 6 (02:40:24):
You know, she's so impressed with it.

Speaker 2 (02:40:27):
Yeah, have you got your camo ready for this weekend?
Speaking of what women like to season? Yeah, you still
got that cartoon cameo? You want to please ask my grandfather,
are you gonna wear You just made fun of his
grandfather's cameo.

Speaker 5 (02:40:40):
Yes, I've had people that know about hunting offer me
money for that.

Speaker 6 (02:40:44):
It's a classic. It is right.

Speaker 2 (02:40:46):
He just started cartoon cameo his grandfather's camera. Oh yeah, thanks, yeah,
thanks a lot.

Speaker 6 (02:40:51):
Now it's going to be just above freezing and he
doesn't have anything insulated. Remember I've got remember he's like
layered himself with those.

Speaker 2 (02:41:00):
Heats, have like high tops on them.

Speaker 5 (02:41:02):
Yes, there are mountain shoes, trail running.

Speaker 10 (02:41:06):
Sh Yeah, and if I recall you were freezing about
an hour in.

Speaker 6 (02:41:10):
No, you're gonna struggle layer up.

Speaker 5 (02:41:14):
One of my struggle one of my heapads didn't work
and that really hurt me. But yeah, yeah, I'll make
sure you need.

Speaker 6 (02:41:19):
To be need to be layered up.

Speaker 5 (02:41:22):
I thought I could because I have a battery and
have a thing that has two plugs in it. But
if I plug two of those pads in, it won't
it won't feed both. So I'm gonna have two gigantic
drill batteries in my armpits and then I'll sit on them.
I'll sit on my butt anything, and the warmth will
come up through my butt.

Speaker 2 (02:41:40):
Butler, here's the thing. It's gonna be a tough mountain
to climb, but I'm just gonna shoot you straight.

Speaker 6 (02:41:45):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:41:46):
Yeah, at camp house, there's lots of additional gear. Now,
unfortunately you're in two worlds. You can't wear my extra gear.
We all know that a little big fortunately, and unfortunately
you can't wear any of my adult son's gear.

Speaker 6 (02:42:05):
So we're gonna have to.

Speaker 5 (02:42:06):
Put you they don't want me to use it, We're
gonna have to put.

Speaker 6 (02:42:09):
You in gear that they wore when they were younger.
I'll just say that I don't want to do I
don't want to use the world word children's camo. But
I'm just I'm just.

Speaker 10 (02:42:19):
Saying, well, and I was going to say the same.
I did keep my my boys gear when they were
growing up through their age years and just before puberty
around that age, and and I have them.

Speaker 3 (02:42:33):
In that.

Speaker 2 (02:42:37):
Because if we if we give you the cameo, if
we give you their post puberty cameo, it's gonna.

Speaker 6 (02:42:42):
Be shot up. But what I'm saying is it's extremely insulated.

Speaker 2 (02:42:47):
Now River is gonna need I need it back because
River is gonna start wearing it.

Speaker 5 (02:42:51):
But River's Ford.

Speaker 10 (02:42:52):
But I know, but that's why I saved it, you know,
for my grandson or whatever. But it's something I can
bring and you could wear straight up, if you just
wear some stuff.

Speaker 6 (02:43:03):
And I'm telling you this, I'm.

Speaker 5 (02:43:04):
Not wearing terrs camera Jack.

Speaker 2 (02:43:10):
You want to be warm or you won't. You want batteries,
I'm not.

Speaker 5 (02:43:14):
I'm not coming here.

Speaker 2 (02:43:16):
I've got a thermal shirt. I got a thermal shirt
that will be perfect you. Now, it does have power
rangers on it.

Speaker 5 (02:43:22):
But y'all done with this? Y'all done with his bit.

Speaker 6 (02:43:27):
Has Yeah, you can what the head of insulate a gee,
you could wear it. I did got some Danny go.

Speaker 5 (02:43:36):
If I'm not here anymore, okay, you could wear some
of mine stuff.

Speaker 6 (02:43:44):
You can wear some of mine. I'm find a piece
of rope.

Speaker 2 (02:43:47):
Yeah, this and this fun.

Speaker 5 (02:43:51):
I'm thinking about other stuff.

Speaker 2 (02:43:54):
Why don't you be sitting on batteries.

Speaker 6 (02:43:56):
That's not saying.

Speaker 5 (02:43:58):
I'm not sitting on the back.

Speaker 6 (02:44:00):
Straight up. I have some some some stuff straight up?

Speaker 5 (02:44:03):
More like more like gay up is.

Speaker 6 (02:44:06):
What you You want to have some really nice insulated boots,
you gotta wear them.

Speaker 2 (02:44:13):
And the step Speedy's got listen to let's clear there
Mountain Steph Speedy's got.

Speaker 5 (02:44:17):
Don't say seriously because you're about to say, you know,
I'm not none of it.

Speaker 2 (02:44:20):
None of it is connected to his kids at all.
It's actually what that kid that was a foster kid
that started a little while.

Speaker 6 (02:44:27):
Oh yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (02:44:29):
Really thought he could play ball. That's why it is.

Speaker 5 (02:44:34):
You just said no.

Speaker 6 (02:44:36):
But I did think he could throw better.

Speaker 2 (02:44:39):
That's what you thought. We got plenty of stuff you
want to be.

Speaker 5 (02:44:42):
You want to say before you say anything to be buddy,
We don't have to say, learn how to say that
before you say anything to be.

Speaker 6 (02:44:48):
But you want to share his cameo Jackets.

Speaker 2 (02:44:50):
It's it's unit sector. You can't even tell.

Speaker 1 (02:44:53):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Big Box Outdoors and

(02:45:14):
grip Feed. I've teamed up to give old hunters the
best feed on the planets. Get the first ever Camphouse
feed called Rix Mix Smell by emailing Caphouse at feedgorder
dot com.

Speaker 2 (02:45:27):
Let me tell you something. We got retailers already on board.
There's a pack of them. Go to Rick Burgessshow dot com.
Look there at the bottom of the page. You see
the link there for Camphouse Feed with Gripfeed. You sit,
click on that. There's the retailer, so you can go
buy in speedy. You need to be fired up because
rix mix is in Elena Alena Hardware Boy, mister Daniel

(02:45:52):
uh huh so it's there and ready to go if
you want to find the retailer near you.

Speaker 6 (02:45:56):
And we're going to continue to add those.

Speaker 2 (02:45:59):
Let me say, we love this. It's got a great attraction.
Got about three times the peanuts, got a lot of
protein in there, it's got the more fat. Uh So
it's not just bringing them in, which we're seeing that,
it's actually also giving them the nutrition they need as well,
so for them to continue to get even bigger in
the future. And we certainly we've been using it, you know,

(02:46:20):
probably a couple of years working on it and what
we've seen great results.

Speaker 10 (02:46:26):
So do you know that was Reese's first I call
big boy job was at Helena Hardware really and mister
Daniel taught him a lot to help him. Like out
of work for left, go in there and get feed shoot,
or you need rick righty righty hardware.

Speaker 6 (02:46:42):
Store, you want some paint? What do you need peanuts?
But he got to he got to kind of learn
all the all the different things you do and really
helped him. Can I tell you love to go into
a hardware store?

Speaker 2 (02:46:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (02:46:53):
Walk around? I know you do, especially we still got
a wood floor.

Speaker 2 (02:46:56):
Oh man, Oh yeah? Do you walk around like you
know what you're doing.

Speaker 6 (02:47:01):
I feels great.

Speaker 2 (02:47:03):
Put a tool belt on, m walk around with it.
That kind of came across is weird. I noticed I
didn't see anybody else doing that. I thought this was
what you're doing. Said, wow, a couple of videos to
look at here Jelly Row. How about Jelly Row? Is
really he shaved his ben? I mean, look, he's looking
great still gots uh. So Jelly Rose talking to Joe Rogan. Uh,

(02:47:28):
and what they're gonna be talking about is the fact
that Jelly Row, because he's a felon. I'm sorry this
is is this a violin offender? Maybe he's not a
fell a fell and it was a violent crime. Right
because of that, he cannot even hunt in Tennessee because
he you know, you can't you can't have a gun.

(02:47:49):
And and so he's talking to Joe Rogan about that,
uh he had to bow hunt, and also talking about
him finding redemption in Christ. So here it is courtesy
of the Joe Rogan podcast.

Speaker 5 (02:48:00):
Yeah, and I screwed it forward just a little bit. Uh,
Jelly rolls talking about how you can't buy a gun,
He'll never be able to buy a gun because Tennessee
has a zero forgiveness policy. Rogan then just out of nowhere,
he brings up the Christ angle to it. So this
is amazing to see Joe Joe Rogan getting possibly into
the church.

Speaker 16 (02:48:18):
More.

Speaker 5 (02:48:19):
I heard the Theo Vaughn throughout he had Leanne Morgan
on his podcast. Theo Vaughn threw it out that he's
in a Bible study with Morgan Wallin. So that is
amazing to see these hugely influential people getting into into Christ.
So at no point would Jelly Roll be able to
purchase a gun. And he says, you know what, I

(02:48:39):
understand that if it is been a murder or a
you know, a sexual crime, then that I understand that's
that's a different thing. That's not what I'm talking about here.
And I hope that there that they can change that
here he is.

Speaker 12 (02:48:51):
I think that every it should there should be some
path to redemption, even if it takes thirty years. Put
something unrealistic up there. You don't care get a speed
and ticket for twenty years. But like, I think it's
important for people to have a path to redemption. I'm
a redemption guy, and you know, if God didn't just
show me so many paths, you know what I mean, then.

Speaker 18 (02:49:10):
I think it's one of the more beautiful aspects of
Christianity that it does offer you a path to redemption,
like a true legitimate path where you can become a
different person.

Speaker 6 (02:49:18):
Literally and people not judge you on the old person anymore. Judge.

Speaker 16 (02:49:22):
I get it.

Speaker 18 (02:49:22):
For the public safety aspect of it, it's hard to
know if a person's redeem themselves.

Speaker 6 (02:49:27):
I get that far.

Speaker 12 (02:49:28):
And if you make the wrong decision, man, I couldn't
bear the burden of your conscious of that neither. But
then you do have cases, and I know I'm not
the only one of people who have, like even little
things like I mean, outside of hunting Joe. It's not
that I'm a big you know, I don't have a
I just wish I could protect myself, right, you know
what I mean. It's like I'm a million dollars plus
a year in security. I'd cut that bill in half

(02:49:50):
tomorrow of attic right to carry right, you know what?
I mean, for sure, you know, but at least let
me hunt in my heart's right, I just want to
feed the family and go out and spend some time
with the boys and do some population control.

Speaker 2 (02:50:01):
We don't there, you go, Yeah, I understand both sides
of that, I truly do. But you know, it kind
of goes back to what we talked about much earlier.

Speaker 6 (02:50:10):
In the program.

Speaker 2 (02:50:10):
And you know, I've seen it in my own life
that you know, sin always matters, and you know there's
redemption and eternity, and then there's repercussions on earth, and
sometimes the repercussions on Earth are always with you. Didn't
keep you from being didn't make any less redeemed on
what it matters. Being able to on a firearm. Firearm

(02:50:33):
does not signal more redemption, and they kind of touched
on it. I don't know what the state is supposed
to do going all right, So we're just supposed to
trust you that you know all these things you're talking
about Jesus and all this, you're not possibly unsafe to
the rest of society.

Speaker 6 (02:50:49):
I do not doubt that Jolly Rowle in his new life.

Speaker 2 (02:50:52):
Don't hear me saying that I'm putting myself in the
position of can you imagine if you relaxed this and
a person who claimed to be good now took a
hunting rifle and God forbid, opened fire on a bunch
of people or you know, and he said, yeah and
turned rogue. You know, I understand both sides of it completely,

(02:51:15):
But he seemed to you said, he seemed to grasp
I understand though, if I was in the position that
I was gonna get blamed for it. Yeah, if I
if I miscalculated on somebody. So I think I think
the bigger lesson here is uh. And I don't think
Jelly Rowe is sidestepping that at all. Nor do I
think Joe Rogan is sidestepping that. I love hearing them
talking about, you know, redemption that matters and that is

(02:51:37):
our eternity.

Speaker 14 (02:51:38):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:51:38):
But you know, I think this is also maybe a
deterrent for people to think through things. You know, even
though you've paid your price and you've been redeemed spiritually,
there's earthly repercussions to all the bad decisions we make.
Doesn't mean they can't be forgiven, that that can't be

(02:52:00):
made right, But there's some things on earth you just
can't change, which is why you need to really think
about the decisions you make, because you don't want to
be in the situation where there's some things you can't unchange,
just like this. I mean, if I God forbid, God forbid,
if I were to had you know, during the dark
days of my life, he killed somebody. Well I'm completely

(02:52:22):
redeemed by Christ. But I couldn't ever go back and say, hey,
I'm sorry I killed your loved one. Now that I'm redeemed,
your loved one's alive, well they're not, you know. I mean,
hopefully they're redeemed an eternity, but I can't bring that back.
Even though I've been forgiven. Maybe I've paid my price
to society. I got out on parole, but I can't
go back and change that. Now I'm good with God

(02:52:45):
and I've been redeemed, which is most important. But the
way I behaved calls things that I could none do,
and so that I understand both sides of it. It's
a tough it's a tough issue. And what he's saying
is maybe you just have some path to being able
to protect yourself again or hunt again or whatever. But

(02:53:05):
I understand why you would put a a turrent like
that into your state to say this kind of behavior
has consequences here.

Speaker 6 (02:53:14):
Yeah, I understand both.

Speaker 5 (02:53:16):
He was also talking about how he's every year the
governor in December writes pardons and so he has been
reaching out to the governor and praying every December. But
even if he gets that pardon from the governor, it
doesn't fully exonerate him, and he still would not be
able to purchase a gun or use a gun.

Speaker 2 (02:53:35):
Tennesseeans or texting saying that they that felons can have
a muzzle loader, so you still can hunt on a
few days of archery. Yeah, yeah, So so it's not
like he is exempt from hunting completely, right, So, but
I do understand him saying I wish I didn't have
to pay other people to protect me. I could cut
that in half if I could just protect myself too.

(02:53:57):
But there's there, there's that consequence again, So you can't
sidestep those and and you know, it's like we talk
about all the time, grace and mercy and redemption are
wonderful and eternity and it's a it's it's a beautiful thing.

Speaker 6 (02:54:13):
Uh, But we have to also realize that.

Speaker 2 (02:54:15):
The things we do do matter, and and they do
have impact, and and they do create problems that you
sometimes carry with you the rest of your life on earth.
The beautiful day is a day's coming where it's not
gonna matter if you're true the redeemed, and that's the
beauty of your future.

Speaker 6 (02:54:30):
Can't change your past, but you can change your future.

Speaker 2 (02:54:33):
We'll be back bottom of the hour.

Speaker 3 (02:54:36):
Uh do we do?

Speaker 6 (02:54:39):
We let somebody else try to win a little cash
for We're done.

Speaker 2 (02:54:42):
You're about to go do a drawing here in a minute,
aren't you?

Speaker 6 (02:54:45):
Yeah? Any second. I sure hope everybody knew the text work.

Speaker 2 (02:54:50):
I sure hope.

Speaker 6 (02:54:51):
So we'll be back bottom of the hour.

Speaker 1 (02:54:59):

Uh huh.

Speaker 2 (02:56:24):
I could literally point to all the areas on my
body that hurt and really stopped me from doing the
things that I loved. But then I heard about Relief Factor.
Bird was talking about it. Figured for twenty bucks, what
I have to lose. Well, I'll tell you what I
lost is the pain. I'm now three months using two
packs a day, and I feel like I'm twenty years younger.

Speaker 15 (02:58:22):

Speaker 5 (03:01:30):
I didn't want to offend anybody I know.

Speaker 2 (03:01:32):
Listen, how about they're accusing you like they did the
guy who got it, not me, that you googled it.
We'll be getting a shirt sent back. I'm gonna be quiet.
No right now, congratulations, I'm just kidding. So you did
you google it?

Speaker 6 (03:01:43):
Jamie?

Speaker 2 (03:01:45):
I did google the artists, but I knew that y'all
do that every morning. Yeah. Look, I'm it's I'm not
a cheater. I just greg how about this. I'm honest.

Speaker 6 (03:01:56):
I'm going to be honest. No, no, James, jamis me.

Speaker 2 (03:02:00):
I'll go this far. You should have won five ninety
nine for just knowing the name of the song, because
that means, yeah, I know every morning.

Speaker 5 (03:02:06):
Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (03:02:07):
All the text nation goes off, all that I know
the show. That's right, and in fact she did fest up,

Speaker 5 (03:02:41):
Okay, I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (03:02:42):
Guys.

Speaker 15 (03:02:42):
What's the show?

Speaker 2 (03:02:43):
Thank you?

Speaker 6 (03:02:43):

Speaker 15 (03:02:46):

Speaker 5 (03:02:47):

Speaker 6 (03:02:53):
Oh yeah, where the other studio was. Okay, we'll put
you on host.

Speaker 2 (03:02:57):
Congratulations by the way, all right, thank you guys.

Speaker 6 (03:03:00):
Thank you there it is.

Speaker 2 (03:03:01):
I think the dog told her, well, she said, Maggie.
Now she knew the themes immediately. She didn't do like
some people I'm not gonna name, didn't lie about it.

Speaker 8 (03:03:10):
Greg.

Speaker 6 (03:03:11):
We have just we have just prepared that bridge. I
wouldn't talk about him, Greg, take it right, and I
want to talk about him. Okay, this is where you realize,
so speedy, how soon will we have the text winner?

Speaker 2 (03:03:29):
I need it. I need him to text me back.
So you have drawn the winner, and and and so
they so it's just it's just cash going at work, guys.
I mean you you you can go other places where
you can stay here and just get cash all the time.
Let people google. Well.

Speaker 5 (03:03:43):
I appreciate her being honest.

Speaker 6 (03:03:44):
If she had not gotten, if she had not said
are you ready?

Speaker 2 (03:03:48):
That told me because this contest is designed to reward
people who are all in on the show, and for
her to know that are you ready?

Speaker 6 (03:03:58):
It was pretty big. Yeah, it was.

Speaker 3 (03:04:01):
It was.

Speaker 6 (03:04:01):
It's that of Music Trivia's show Trivin. Yeah, and that
was right in not Music Triviun.

Speaker 1 (03:04:08):

congratulations to Jamie. Five hundred and ninety nine dollars winter
in the countdown to Christmas, the cash is rolling in
tomorrow more cash up for grabs, and we also have
somebody else that's when one hundred dollars. We're just trying
to get in touch with them. Off the text option,

(03:05:24):
and you guys did a great job of grabbing that
word really really really early in the show today, So
that worked out. Okay, So some stories that we still
haven't covered. I was really intrigued when I saw this
following description of this story that Adler has. Florida man

(03:05:45):
claims he was teleported into a stolen BMW. This may
be the one that was ordering that bumper. Adler using
your stuff could have been at the orders of X
Men before crashing. So he's in somebody's BMW, but he
didn't steal it. He was teleported there in it because

(03:06:06):
it was ordered by the X Men. The X Men
sent him right into this b m W. That's not
I think that's a good excuse, so good as.

Speaker 5 (03:06:15):
A first impressions are very important. The police officer walks
up to the man, and the sounds that the man
is making make a very bad first impression.

Speaker 2 (03:06:27):
Of teleport something. Where'd you get the car from?

Speaker 13 (03:06:29):
I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:06:34):
Where'd you give me?

Speaker 8 (03:06:36):
Just one.

Speaker 6 (03:06:39):
The did you come from by Centennial Park?

Speaker 2 (03:06:44):
Came from by Centennial Park? They told me the X
Men to do it.

Speaker 5 (03:06:49):
Okay, guys, X Wow, here's driving a car man. He's
now in cuffs.

Speaker 2 (03:06:57):
A little bit.

Speaker 5 (03:06:58):
That's one of the same. So guy's helping him drink
some water here and he's.

Speaker 2 (03:07:04):
You gotta bring get something like he's got a cut
on his face.

Speaker 5 (03:07:08):
There he recority bad over step for step for step
for wow.

Speaker 6 (03:07:13):
So he was teleported there at the command of.

Speaker 9 (03:07:16):
The X men.

Speaker 6 (03:07:18):
Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 2 (03:07:19):
The putting on a lot of cuffs, correct me, a
lot of cuffs? Uh wow?

Speaker 13 (03:07:26):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (03:07:26):
Also, uh that like you said that first impression, uh
is uh is not the way to go. Obviously, he's
he's having some issues with reality and somehow found his
way into somebody's BMW.

Speaker 6 (03:07:40):
You can't order of the X man.

Speaker 2 (03:07:41):
You can't even have a BMW that X man making
somebody run off in hmm. So next uh this father
and son rescued from the Florida Evergladesh the four wheeler
ran out of gas. Hey, if you're going out into
where alligators roam and alligators are hungry, real important to
check the gas.

Speaker 6 (03:08:02):
Yeah, make sure you really.

Speaker 2 (03:08:03):
Just look down in there, maybe drop a stick down there,
see how much you got. Uh your gas running out
in the Everglades is a double thumbs down.

Speaker 6 (03:08:12):
So here's the story.

Speaker 3 (03:08:17):
Uh high octane rescue of a father and son in
the Everglades caught on camera. Watch as police spot the pair,
who were stranded into preserve the video showing the dramatic
moment they were hoisted to safety. It all started after
a ride on an ATV took a turn.

Speaker 2 (03:08:33):
My poor wheeler ran out of gas.

Speaker 1 (03:08:35):
We got sucked in a mud hole.

Speaker 2 (03:08:38):
Out of gas and out of options. They called nine
to one one.

Speaker 8 (03:08:42):
We're just here, stranded pretty far and almost out of
water with my son.

Speaker 2 (03:08:47):
Have no food and no water, no black light.

Speaker 3 (03:08:50):
The father telling the operator. The pair burned through their
gas as they tried to get out of the thick mud.

Speaker 8 (03:08:55):
He lost his shoes and the mud too, so we're barefoot.

Speaker 3 (03:08:58):
You can see the fire they started to stay.

Speaker 6 (03:09:00):
Warm, and the alligators are hungry.

Speaker 2 (03:09:04):
Buddy, that fire.

Speaker 3 (03:09:05):
Helped the call of your County Sheriff's Aviation und't find
the pair and pull off the high stakes rescue.

Speaker 7 (03:09:11):
Pretty obstacles, But what good right here that I spent it?

Speaker 6 (03:09:15):
Can you imagine?

Speaker 2 (03:09:17):
My goodness? Shoot, ain't got no gas in it, and
the alligators are hungry. We got no water, ain't we're barefoot?

Speaker 6 (03:09:28):
Not a good day, no flashlight.

Speaker 5 (03:09:32):
Prepared.

Speaker 2 (03:09:34):
You know, this always reminds me, even though these people
you know, are clothed except for I guess apparently their feet.
Their feet aren't. This this is the kind of stuff
that harkens me back to these nicked and afraid people.

Speaker 6 (03:09:44):
Oh yeah, uh, and.

Speaker 2 (03:09:47):
I've noticed, and like Greg, of course, you've always made
sure that we all understood that you steal of all
the things people want to research about naked and afraid.

Speaker 6 (03:09:57):
You know, why would anybody do it? Is it just
for you? You're you're rating, you know, survival rating. Do
they give money? Do they get money? I'm sure they
get in a little.

Speaker 2 (03:10:08):
They don't win, like, okay, survive you win a million, right,
But what you're saying is you're you still are you
don't understand how they blur some people's butts in the
other I want to know what termine that button crack
is offensive and what's not? I think it right, they
blur some they do.

Speaker 6 (03:10:24):
I think there's some you're going they should have blurred it.

Speaker 2 (03:10:26):
I think it's the butt. Really, there's like a presentation.
Do you think there's a waiver? They don't have pants?
I'm thinking nobody, nobody has pants. I was thinking, honestly,
I'm not even kidding around. It's going to sound, you know, humorous,
that there's some sort of butt waiver where you go,
y'all can show my butt if you want to, And

(03:10:48):
then other people say, I'm not signing off on my butt,
my butt must be blurred. Of course, most people with
that attitude would not want to be on the show.

Speaker 6 (03:10:56):
You would think it.

Speaker 2 (03:10:58):
I do think that's an odd one line to draw
that you go meet a stranger who you've never met,
completely naked in the middle of the wilderness, which you
draw the line on your butt not being blurred when
they show it on TV. And what's that got to
do with survival rating?

Speaker 6 (03:11:13):
Can I throw this out on that too?

Speaker 2 (03:11:15):
The men that agree to it, you got to become
with a certain amount of confidence, and I mean, I'm
not going any further than that, but I mean, you know,
if you're if you're not, if you're not somewhat I
think if you're not somewhat confident, that's a bold move.
It is walking up out there completely naked in front

(03:11:37):
of so from someone else you never met, from the
opposite gender.

Speaker 6 (03:11:40):
It is also going to be weird show it is.
You know, I've never understood it.

Speaker 2 (03:11:47):
I was he and they look miserable when the insects
they are tearing that naked rump good on a log
when nothing have they ever done one in the Everglades
like this father?

Speaker 6 (03:12:00):
I bet they have? I bet that.

Speaker 2 (03:12:01):
What about when it hits you that your forewheder's out
of gas and you in the mud and you're in
the Everglades? Yeah, and down goes are you trying to go?
I mean they fourhardding gray turned that fore wheel her.
Of course, check that gas. Maybe they don't stay on
Maybe if there's a road or anything that's similar to
a road, you might want to stay on it. By
the way, tough day for dads everywhere from this guy,

(03:12:22):
because it should be something a dad has to tell
a son when they got stranded.

Speaker 6 (03:12:28):
Son, you gotta always check the gas, always check burn
it out trying to get out of them.

Speaker 2 (03:12:32):
But now the dad was on the trip and he
didn't check the field because you couldn't burn out all
the fuel if it was foot just trying to get
out of the mud. But if they can't get out
of the mud, aren't they stranded anyway? True gas or
no gas. That's true, Yeah, sooner if they left. Have
they done a nicked and afraid in the everyglasses?

Speaker 6 (03:12:51):
I think they have. Probably they've been in like Serengetti
and all these other places.

Speaker 5 (03:12:57):
This is one of the blurs. And she actually did
an article about how they blur things and how she
has to go frame by frame and blur it, and
oh she's the blur. They have multiple blurrs on the show.

Speaker 6 (03:13:08):
But who decides what's offensive and who gets blurred and
who doesn't. Well, everybody's blurred.

Speaker 5 (03:13:12):
They'll do a blur and then send it to uh
the send it up the ladder, and then they'll they'll
get notes back that are like this blur is insufficient,
and they'll blur it some more.

Speaker 6 (03:13:21):
How about when you're naked walking up somebody going how
you doing? My name is Greg. Yeah, yep.

Speaker 2 (03:13:27):
We'll be naked in a freight out here to get people,
and his job is to edit the video. Wow, I know,
I bet they got all kinds, but they got well,
we can't have that. I was going to use a
certain phrase that she was there, but I'm not going to.

Speaker 5 (03:13:39):
It'd be crazy.

Speaker 2 (03:13:40):
You're walking up to somebody you never met and you're
nicked and that person is not a police officer.

Speaker 6 (03:13:44):
That's a strange situation, that's true.

Speaker 5 (03:13:46):
I'd be like, my name is Chris, my eyes are
up here.

Speaker 2 (03:13:48):
Right, Yeah. And I love how they give them one
little bag to hang on the shoulder, kind of strategically right.
And I noticed too, when they all get cold, they
just kind of throw in the whole. And no matter
if they're married, not married. Therefore, you know what, everybody's snugly. Yeah,
there every noon And have you ever seen the step
out people?

Speaker 15 (03:14:04):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (03:14:04):
Have you ever seen the step out people? They think
they can do it, yes, but they don't really have
any backgun. They don't make it long at all all
they and they start coming apart quick, yes, and they're
so bold on the front end.

Speaker 6 (03:14:16):
Everybody's wish them goodbye.

Speaker 2 (03:14:18):
I still think it's weird to watch somebody's wife tell
them goodbye. And what they're telling them goodbye to is
not going fishing or hunting. It's going to take all
your clothes off and stay twenty one days if you
can with another naked woman.

Speaker 6 (03:14:30):
That's not you watch. That's a weird sind off. And
there's the kids and the wife waving a right, guys.

Speaker 2 (03:14:36):
I'm going to try to survive and I'm about to
go get I mean, that's just weird time of the hour.

Speaker 6 (03:14:42):
Thanks for being with us.
