and Adler. You never know when when you take a
team and you send them off for nine days if
you count the weekends, you don't know who's gonna make
it back. Uh and and one by one, I've noticed

(02:14):
that everybody has shown back up at work. We're here, bird,
It's so good to see all of you. I missed you, Yeah,
I did. I missed you. I really did. We missed
you too, Thank you man.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah, and I love you, brother, Greg. I even missed you.
I really did. Wow, I did watch That's so and it.
I mean it was about it was about Thursday before
I started miss you.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
But yeah, yeah, it took till I missed you yesterday.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Having wore I having wore a short shirt that's borderline, Greg,
make fun.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Of I saw that that was there? It is I
don't know what's open there? What's on your chest there?
That's a that's a Dallas star. It's a Dallas show. Okay, okay,
make fun of have palm tree.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
It's actually it's actually Jc's shirt I'm just wearing it
today in an effort not to wear the same eight
shirts every day all the time.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Can I ask you something that you know shows that
we don't. I don't have a lot of style. We
know that my wife makes that clear. Yeah, would this
be the palm trees represent the style of shirt? And
they just made a Dallas Star shirt that you palm
trees are tied to the Dallas Stars. I don't, I
don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
I think it's a it's a golf shirt and it
just got a golf just got it is it's it's
a brand.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
It's okay, it is a brand. You know, if they
want to put the Dallas Stars thing on, you may
get the same coat of the shirt. It's hard to
see it. It's a level where it's a level where brand.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
My goodness, this is just what AI is saying. But
evidently the palm trees and the Dallas Stars. That refers
to a viral meme, a viral moment stemming from when
the Buffalo Sabers GM complained that his team couldn't attract
free agents because they didn't have palm trees like like
teams in sunny, tax free states.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
How about that so they made fun of the fact
that you mean Texas wing at Depalm Tree. Yeah, right, okay,
that's funny.

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Well, when we went out, I wanted to get thank
you by when whenever we went out to one of
the games, the playoff games and all that that we
talked about. There was a golf for a golf shirt rack,
I guess, and we picked it up there. But I
put it on and then I got here and I
was like, oh boy, you know, for the first time
you like to see yourself in the mirror. I'm like, well,
this has got Greg written all over it.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
You know, you know what I thought that D stood for.
Hey Gregg, there's coach the Boar. Check out that haircut.
He's got to coach the boar haircut. I can't believe y'all.

Speaker 5 (04:39):
Let me go then my haircut. He your hair is gone,
coach house a tiger look listening around. It ain't got
a hairt Friday. And be honest, I might as well
go this look, I mean, I might as well.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Sure, And she's cutting my hair, and all of a sudden,
I look and I thought, oh, so it's all gone.
I got to talk and she cut cut and that's fine.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
There's them.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
I don't care, but this slip. Yeah, you're gonna do
with this hair anyway the other way, it's no better.
I like that look.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
No, it is a good loss. Straight up. It is
a big change, but it's a good looking. Stop laughing.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Wait, let's get taken. I was calling you coach the
boy Friday. I know what I saw you walked in.
I said, wow, Greg's really going all in on rainbow
of moke. There. So I got me a haircut I
did that day, by the way, So with that buzz cut. Look,
it's good. Yeah, that's what it was. You listen, gradu

(05:34):
ready first the team to start August practice. Yeah, you
know you're going to go. Football is all over.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
So now, straight up, it's a big change, Greg, but
it's a good look. You say that your head is
too big for the to have hair that short.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
No, it's to the skin. I can't. I'll never go
to skin mask. It has too big. Saw somebody this weekend?
Bad call? Really, Yeah, people need to think everybody go
the skin. No they can't. You're right, Yeah, you're right. Call.
So sometimes you don't know it to you there, right,
So we got a lot to talk about, uh, while
we were away. A lot of things happened everywhere, but

(06:05):
you know, most of it we'll be talking about here
amongst us. That's funny, uh, and good to have text
nation back. We've missed y'all. Yeah, uh, a lot of
you emailing. Uh. It was interesting because the audience, you
guys are so incredible when when we were away, unless
there was a question about something we you know, because

(06:25):
we were doing our first ever let's automate you know,
the show for for five full days and two weekend shows,
which is always automated, but and you know, other than
people say, and everything seemed to run smooth. I think
we had one tune in issue that we had to correct,
which was and that was just a couple of emails.
But you know, it's funny, the audience kind of goes, yeah,

(06:48):
we know, y'a are all so that you don't get
a lot. Then all of a sudden, once it once
it got the weekend before we go back on there,
then it all starts. It's a start here, it all
starts coming again. So it's good to see all of
you and hope you enjoyed going back and listening to
some of the more memorable hours of the first seven
months of the show, and uh so we do have
a lot to cover and and a lot of viewers.

(07:10):
It's so funny you said that tune in is not
working right now. No, actually I actually saw that and
and then we just talked about it. We had one
little minor issue, a tune in of course is down now.
And again, well, the thing with tune in, and I
heard everybody it. I don't want to get all technically
even know you know I could, Yeah, but I hear
people talking engineers like super Tom that there's a computer

(07:31):
that that handles our our part of tune in, and
the computer has to be told where to look for programming,
and we had to tell it to look somewhere else.
And I don't think that's been correct. Yeah for best
of shows, and I bet it's not looking back to
the studio. And I just texted, how about that?

Speaker 3 (07:46):
That was pretty that simple but also accurate.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
That is a very good breakdown. I don't want to
stir the pot here, but can you imagine what the
first round of unscreened phone calls is going to be today?
The whole week I thought the same.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
They've been sitting on their hands just for a week
to say something.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
You realize. Some people said, you know what, I've had
five days to find new creative ways that they do do. Yeah,
I thought, man, they got new ones. So yeah, so
we we've got, I mean, a lot to jump into today.
We're excited to be back, all of us, you know.
And I know I'm not getting into all this, but
it is, you know, it's a different schedule. Uh And

(08:28):
and sure enough, at one time I thought to myself,
I love what I do for a living, so I
certainly don't dread coming back to work. But you know,
you can still get caught in this life that's not real,
because this life that we lived last week doesn't require
any income, you know, I mean use an income you've
already made. But you don't realize that you can't just

(08:49):
stay here more as eventually you'll run out retirement. Right.
And at one time I thought, I lived on a
small island. And how about this, I don't rick you
don't you're not and you're gone, sure goes. I know
at one point, one point you're saying hello mom, sure
shower wreck Sure she said, I thought that hat was

(09:10):
maybe a one two day thing. So that's yeah, that's island.
You're gonna have to let you go back to work.
She goes, I think you think that. I think you
think that you're that hat guy. Now yeah, and she goes, look,
that's vacation only on the album. She took it back
from me. That's look over the waking She side to
give it that. Yeah, I agree where that's allan Illen.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Yeah, yeah, that island only.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Yeah, you think that guy thinks he has a job.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
I don't know who that is, right, I don't know
who that is?

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Kind of well rested.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Look of that guy.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
That guy, that guy's going.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Don't worry and be hip.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
About you.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
You didn't sound you didn't but you didn't sound bahaman.
You didn't sound Jamaican. You just said eying, I.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
Mind, okay, three little birds?

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Hey, did you see you the same boat? Different islands?

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Do I know?

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Did you say a different islands like you live in Texas?
And by the way, the Behaman's hate for you to
confusion for Jamaicans just not. They hated They don't like that, No,
they hate it. We'll be right back. This is a

(10:30):
very very popular product. I'm talking about extremely popular with
the audience. And if you're not in on m D
Hearing and you are a loved one need hearing age?

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Game changer?

Speaker 1 (10:44):
What if I told you that there are hearing ages
of hearing age available for you are someone you love
over ninety percent less than the clinic hearing age. Did
you hear me say ninety percent? Yeah? I mean this
was created by by doctor that said, you know what,
I'm seeing my patients, A lot of them need hearing age.

(11:05):
The prices are way too high. Some of them are
going not being able to hear just because of expenses,
just because of the price. So he worked hard to
come up with some great hearing aids that are incredibly affordable.
This was an ent surgeon, and you know what, MD

the live and the archive for you today? And also

(12:11):
coming up this week Wednesday, Bible Study or go back
to brand new and a new Strange Encounter's coming out
this weekend now last weekend aber still, I mean, you
can't stop him. A brand new episode of Rick and
Bubba's Greatest Hits and Radio Gold did come out over
the weekend, so episode twenty nine. So there you go,
and or was it yeah? Twenty nine right, yeah, so anyway, so,

(12:35):
but so everything's back rolling this week, so all the
normal stuff kind of goes back to normal. And one
thing I'm seeing on text Nation other than asking us
about tune in, just refresh if it was down, Yeah,
if it was down, it should be good. Now tune
in people if you're hearing us on some other source,
which is odd because I guess now, I ha, did
somebody tell me?

Speaker 3 (12:56):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I do know. There's other things, but tune in is
what I prefer. That's right, that's right. While we have choices,
just refreshed, yeah, just refresh it it ought to be
there now, testing one too for tune in, Test one
too for tune in. But I see on text Nation
today and I'm already singing an emails Adler. How is
mister Chin?

Speaker 3 (13:14):
He is alive?

Speaker 1 (13:15):
How did he well? How did he handle vacation?

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Good?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Good?

Speaker 1 (13:18):
I got a new bowl, set up.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
A new thing for him.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
Oh nice.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
It has a like a pump, you know, a little filter,
a little pump action. I think part of his tail
might have gotten sucked into it or something.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
It's good. It's new to him.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
He used to have a piece of his tail.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
I think, guys, are we going to fall for this?
That's a different fish.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
It's not clearly a different fit. It's behind Misterler was.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Talking about mister Chin's tale, right right right.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
But I did get him a new tank. I came
in and checked on him twice over the break.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
That you don't got to go that far? I did
he go that far?

Speaker 3 (13:56):
I had other things to do, but it was is him.
It's the same cham.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
When did he bring the new fish in Friday? Probably?

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Look look look right there, see there's like a chunk
missing out of his.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
You can't, I can't see it. You got caught in
the machinery. Did you see Chen Friday? He was filling
the tank up when I came in.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yes, thank you, there's a.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Paper was a new fish, that's what. And by the way,
it's probably know you're right right right there. Yeah, just
go along with what.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
I'm worried about his tail. But he's besides that, he's good.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
But by the way, but nobody's bying that. I promise
you to him, will I'll tell you soon. I'll be
sad when he if anything, if anything wereld ever happen.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
By the way, best case scenario Ischin five.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
This is ischen one point h. I promise I'll tell
you because I'll be sad.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Okay, So Chen did fine, he's got a new tank. Yes,
apparently this filter start out badly because it took a
part of his tail. Yeah, Fadlas, I'm trying to figure
it out. I bet I bet he won't getting near
it again. He wishes his tank was bigger, he does
he does? I think that thanks smaller than the Oh
yeah it is.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Now he's got oxygen in there.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Like he's not sucking at the top. He probably would
like to have food.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Yeah, I had on Monday and Friday.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Fish like the hotel.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
That's a little gap.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
It's a gap. Sure, all of us like to be
fed twice out of swing.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
He's good. Beat him again today.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
He's hungry that way, by the way, just to refresh
tune in his back. Yeah. And a lot of people
saying they got it back now, just just fresh, just
fresh fresh, you know, computers and talking things and all that. Yeah,
a poor little chin. Yeah all right, yeah, we think
we think chin is.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Back original originals. Yes, it is.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
Mon by the way I work mean accident, Oh, I
got it if you need you got it down.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
The Also, I was I learned a little bit on vacation.
There were a few times on vacation where I thought, well,
this must be what it's like to be speedy. Well,
I found myself having to be like crazy resourceful because
you know, well I did. I did the best I

(16:28):
could on trying to figure out, you know, when when
Sherry and I we went away and where she'd planned
where we were going, beautiful place and all that. I'm
not allowed to talk about it much, but you know,
you just you think you know everything. But I was
a little it was a little underestimation on how much
the restaurants while they're they're you know, you told me, yeah,

(16:51):
that don't even well and I may maybe it wasn't
every single but it's close. And I did, I remember,
I thought. I looked at Sherry and I said, this
is this is what speedy would do. It's like like
I ordered like a pizza one time, and and and
I and I wasn't all that hungry. So I had
about half of it left and I and I asked
for it to go, well, good for you, and I
put it in there. And and the next day on

(17:13):
the beach, I ate it for lunch, so it would
have to buy another lunch. And I and I thought, well,
I think that's being resource.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
That's called normal.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
I thought, I thought, wow, this was like to be speedy.
I mean, you know, I take that as a company.
Not bad. What you know, island life. We always romanticize it.
You picture this, but I had even the locals remind
me about island life. Island life is wonderful short term,

(17:41):
but you know this thing of you want to live
on an island, but you don't take things into account.
Nothing's easy. Islands that can't get anything. Everything has to
be imported. To the island. By the way, if you
get sick. Oh, by the way, that owns me right there.
Oh yeah, that's good breakfast. And you didn't let that
hat go. All that I had all week? Okay, look

(18:03):
look what I got on. I got Fiddler's Green on.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
You really were channeling me. It looks like I had
I would wear a bald head.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
So it's uh and right there. You think that's not
all that expension, Well it really is. But anyway, Burger
and Paradise, they were thinking things. You know, there were
things like, think about this, what if you get sick?
Oh no, listen, I forgot some horror stories about somebody
had a major medical incident and could not get backed,

(18:32):
couldn't get to it. The healthcare not very good, we
were told by the locals. If you get off the island,
if you if you have something major happen, there's nothing no,
there's no medical here.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
Even stitches or anything there or not.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Did you want to be.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
At no, even stitches, something simple like that. I wouldn't
want Honestly.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
They were telling me stories back to you know, people
romanticizing government healthcare too. They say, when you're taking off
any of the islands, everybody has to go to Nassau.
And when you get to Nassau, they say there's the private, which,
by the way, that's that's cash, and then there's the government. Well,
if you've got something that's got to be seen today,

(19:09):
private's your only option because the government ain't gonna see
you today. You're gonna be told when you can have
that test or have that operation. And private we give us,
give us the money now. And they were saying, so
it's and you know, there's not a lot that I
mean a lot. Most everything's coming into the island. Yeah,

(19:32):
and it's everything.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
They thought you had money though, because you look like
you own Jurassic Park.

Speaker 6 (19:36):
That's right, this is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
But we're all back now. We checked on mister Chen.
Adler assures us that Chen has a new home. Might
have lost a little bit of his tail, but we
should not think that's a different fish, all right, whatever,
same guy. Hey, thanks, I'm real like my four year
old grandson.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
It's like how Greg got a haircut. Mister Chin lost
part of his tail.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
He did well, he had to adapt somehow. He's the
only thing in there. He's like, he's like, let meet you.
Let me check out walf with you. Oh, I got
my tail, show us fall apart here. You did not
tell me. I wonder if you could eat your own tail.
If you're a fish, can.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
You get eating his own tail?

Speaker 1 (20:24):
Well, that's what it is. You didn't chase their tail. Yeah,
he can get around to it. Yeah, I got to nibbling.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
I think he can get around to it.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
Well, it goes back to, you know, this thing where
we talk about how intelligent animals are and they do
do incredible things, they really do. Yeah, but but then
we start getting a little carried away and we think
that they're close to humans' abilities and how humans were made,
and we realize things like, all of a sudden, this
dog that seems to be able to do these incredible
tricks and it's well trained, just starts chasing his tail
and you're like, okay, I realized now there's a deal

(20:54):
that gap between the ones that catch it and bite it, right. Yeah, yeah,
well I told you that time. Speaking of being, you know,
traveling and uh and we we were on a we
were in uh niggad Iwak on a mission trip and
I brand into and you know, an agnostic who wanted
to lecture me about how close monkeys and humans are.

(21:17):
You know, he was going to try to sell me
on on this, and he said, and he gave me
this big speech about do you know what, there's just
it's just a little, just a slight difference. And we
had just come from Monkey Island. And I said, but
that little gap you speak of, it's a biggie. And
he was like, well, what do you mean. I said,
they can't even get off this island. I said, monkeys

(21:39):
for generations have been on this island, right, he said, yes.
I said, they haven't come up with a boat. We're
in a full blown boat that's operating with the motors.
And they just now figured that they can use a
stick to eat termites. Right yeah. I said, Now that's
impressive for an animal, you know, I know every now
and then they walk up right and it looks impressive.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
And they and the animal world, they are really intelligent.
So I'm not taking that away. But you tried to
get them real close to us whatever you're talking about,
and agree with that difference and our makeup. That gap
is a big one. It's a big one. It's a biggie. U.
Matter of fact, look over there with that one snacking on. Yeah,
that's big. Have you all seen and I know it's

(22:20):
a doing it. I've seen two, three different ones. It's
like a gorilla in the zoo. Yes, and there's a
kid that's in the pit and he picks it up
and has it. It's not real, it's not really.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
I thought you're talking about the other one where they ai.
I think a monkey of some kind and he's he's
always interacting with different people.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
It's funny. I've seen big, two different ones. He picks
it's a big silver back and her hands and kid
to the mom.

Speaker 3 (22:45):
Now this this the kid is just.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Standing there looking around. Why would he be in there? Right?

Speaker 3 (22:49):
This monkey did go to space. He did it was
a pretty good accomplishment.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
But I will say this up there he did what
the other thing is. Don't forget about that gap again.
He didn't have a saying it right. Yeah, a quote
from whatever the name the right stuff. Yeah. When when
I was making a comment about Gus Grisson messing up
and all, and that guy think he goes just it's
just something a monkey's done. And I think it was Jager.

(23:16):
He looked at me as you think that monkey and
what he was sitting on. Yeah, he said, Gus did
he did? All right, it's different that monkey had no
idea what he was sitting on. Now it's different, Speedy.
I know there's some stories today that you know, because
let's face it, you you have to deal with blindness
in your family. Happy birthday to your dad. Yeah, it
was eighty five this past Saturday, eighty five. Did you

(23:37):
see where two blind women from Florida that that Southwest
Airlines went often forget about him and left them. Yeah,
just left them sitting there. Yeah, they were blind and
they needed to get into the plane, and nobody helped
them in the plane left. I got sixteen wheelchairs, communication breakdown,
and like I said, I thought you were getting the
blind Yeah. No, Look I've seen us really make sure

(23:59):
that the fault woman got on the plane, but we
left to do blind people. Yeah, I mean it's should
have been por left him sitting there. Yes, they don't know.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
No, I'm reading here that I'm not messing around. How
long did they Southwest offered them one hundred dollars credit
after leaving just.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
One hundred one than you Now, don't don't forget this.
They had already been delayed for five hours because their
plane was So you've delayed me for five hours, then
you leave me. Yeah, and then when everybody started getting on,
they forgot them. Okay, after a five hour delayed. Hey,
we'll get a bad rating on you. Yes, I said,

(24:34):
you left, and so you left them sitting there some
one job. You had one job. There was somebody that
was in charge of that. I forgot. They left them
on there. They said they discovered they were the only
two people on the on the on the plane and
they were told, you're the only two people on this
flot because we forgot about you. And wow, so now
we need to get the guy that was handing them

(24:56):
that he didn't see him well and they didn't see
him either. Offer but yeah, yeah, there is no excuse.
But like I said, how do you Apparently apparently, and
this is where maybe we need to have the blind
more apparently as I've talked about, and I've even seen
I forget the two guys name that are comedians. They've
got a YouTube about how they also have noticed how

(25:18):
many people get to get on the plane even before
first class and you know, all the specialized groups. So
we make sure that everybody gets on the plane apparently
first everybody, which makes nobody special. If everybody special, by
the way, and then we can't get the blind on there,
I think the blind I wouldn't have a problem with
the blind getting on. I would be thinking to myself, well, yes,

(25:40):
the blind should go on first. I would say they're first,
all first on. You should never have an incident where
you left the blind person. If you ask how many
blind people if we forgot, it should be zero. That's
a good one, right, don't forget the blind. I mean
that's hard.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
That should be on the pilots checklist like flaps check
any blind people left? Yes?

Speaker 1 (26:02):
Yeah, oh wait a minute, picture the guy when you
look at her. So you had one job? Yeah, come on, right,
there's not that many here. You just make sure bud
people gonna have less than five. How do you drop that? Yeah, okay,
like it's a crowd. Then you took twenty five and
left fo Yeah. And the one thing if you say
you didn't see him nine and a half. So so

(26:22):
speaking of that, your dad who is also blind. Yeah,
I had your birthday eighty five.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Eighty five years mister Wilburn, and what a celebration Saturday,
so much fun.

Speaker 1 (26:31):
My sister and brother in law drove up from Pensacola.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
And she she made a carrot cake, by the way,
which was really good. Was really good, Greg, you would
like it, matter of fact, I did about you.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Carrot Cake's one of those things I have to get
past away. It looks and I think a carrot, but
it really doesn't taste like a carrot.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
But it was just a fun day, do you know.
The only thing he requested, he said, I would love.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Burgers and hot dogs on the grill. Nice. And I
was in charge of that, and I made we made
spiral burgers.

Speaker 4 (27:00):
He pore up the spy dogs a fantast he could.
I mean, my goodness, he.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Loves once you've had spiral, have any other works?

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Yeah he uh he And so anyway, so this is
the cake that my sister made. And there's as you
can see, there's six candles and then there's a big
yeah pick big eighty five there. So we're about we're
about to sing as a family and then he's going
to try to blow him out, uh and just enjoy
uh this and he just got to laugh. It's tough

(27:28):
to see the candles.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
I can't No, He's just know.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
Any wait some reason.

Speaker 3 (27:50):
So so much say something, uh blow out?

Speaker 1 (27:53):
Okay, that's that's ready, sir. Here we go. It would
go right now there to the right.

Speaker 7 (28:07):
There.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
On that last week, that last one was raised. He
couldn't help it. I got to help Grandad.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
Yeahs but one yeah, and so you know the grinning.
You don't think that man right there, how frustrated I'd
be throwing stuff across the right if I couldn't blow
out a candle. Last he's the same, he's just like
it's such a better person than all of us.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
Yes, it is what it is, right, you know, but
he just he had he had a tough time with
that last one. I gotta tell you the good right
up there he did, he did. I think that honestly,
like you. I think if I was blind to be
a jerk, Yes, you would have left me at the
airport somebody, get right, Yeah, you wouldn't left me so

(28:58):
so uh right, right, don't.

Speaker 6 (29:02):
You leave me?

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Right? A Fielm movement.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
I can sense it.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
So you know, everything has to have his spot around
the house.

Speaker 8 (29:13):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
For my dad, he doesn't use a stick or anything
like that.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
He goes by feel and and Lynn Uh, my sister called.
You know, she's oh, my gosh, we gotta take pictures,
and everybody's like, oh no, aunt Lynn.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
She's about to say something about pictures, and she was like.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Hey, it's picture time. Let's all go to the front
yard before we do, you know, the cake and everything. Well,
he comes out there. I'd gotten out there first or whatever,
and he comes out there and I notice he's got
a blue a blue mark on his forehead like something
that he had been hit or folly.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
And I said, Dad, what happened?

Speaker 4 (29:46):
He goes, somebody left the door half open, and and
see back to your point, I'd be spitting mad.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
I'd have been throwing stuff. Somebody left the door open.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
He's just like some man, somebody left the door open.
And he's like on he almost got cut, like he's bleeding.
He's just a blue mark. But it's just everything's got
to have its spot. And I'm like, Dad, you have
got so you have some med. He just laughs it
off and just has a great.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
I don't have that off. I notice you hit your
head on like a cabinet door.

Speaker 7 (30:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
Thought he walked right into the side. Actually I've actually
I've actually run into a door facing just like that
of course I was. I wasn't blind, but well I
was momentarily.

Speaker 2 (30:27):
But the uh, but.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
It's been that was about nineteen eighty six, but it
was it's temporary, right, it was. I was self induced.
But there's a couple of umpires I thought were blind. Yeah, right,
good news is we've got chicks calling balls and strokes. Yeah,
saw that all that you've seen it though? That aggravated me.
Then I saw a picture I said, I thought it
was supposed to be a woman. I know all that.

(30:50):
I didn't think it was. But I know you set
up you almost fanned out or your sister did the
candles in the way where he was going to hit
some up. Yeah, because I start thinking maybe she should
have a single. But I think a single is harder.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
It is, it is, it's hard to find. And we
try to go left, you know how you left to right?

Speaker 1 (31:09):
Oh yeah? Yeah. And I felt like we probably put
too much on his burger. Uh, And that was tough.
That was tough.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I gotta cut it.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
You know, if you have a tall burger and you
go to biking on it, these are gonna squirt out.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yes, I mean we got tomatoes over here, we got
let doing it blind. Ye, right, that's what I'm saying.
You know, he's like, boy's making a mess. I said,
yes it is.

Speaker 9 (31:31):
That is the Rick Burgess Show, And I mean he
was seriously injured.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
He's okay though. NASCAR driver Connor Zilicious, he says, listening,
z I l I s clich villach Zilich. As you said, Greg,
this is a problem for NASCAR because it's a nineteen
year old that I've never heard of. Yeah, an infant series.
He's Exfinity. Yeah, that's right, which used to be the

(32:04):
Bush Series. Got you? So he wins the Exfinity race
in the number eighty eight, bless his heart, and speedy
he gets the victory lane and not the guys. I
mean you said it could have killed him. Yes, yeah,
we hear people all the time. You get punched and
then you hit the ground, your head hits the concrete.
He falls around his head. He's trying to get out

(32:24):
of his car to do the victory lane celebration. You're
going to make me watch this, seedy.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Have you not seen this?

Speaker 1 (32:30):
No, well you hadn't seen it, speedy. No, this is ambulance.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
Is he a what?

Speaker 6 (32:38):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (32:38):
They had the Hall of mine broke his collar bone
and knocked itself out coat, so he didn't get to celebrate.
He started.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
He's getting out of the car, about to stand on it.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
So right now he's okay and he's about not to
be hes doing. Hey he survived the race. He's just celebrating. Okay.
So I'm is he okay now? Yeah, okay, but it
was broken call.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
This is this is scary.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Okay, watch this. So I have to watch this. Oh
my god. So he's okay, he's grin, he's okay. He's
got dead legs. He's got dead legs.

Speaker 5 (33:10):
And guys, oh no, no, my gosh, he is out.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Look at you when your hands do yeah, gosh, he's
doing the fencing response.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Dude, he's knocked. I saw what happened. He could have
killed him. Oh my goodness. Yeah, his foot slipped, yes,
and and and went back into the car.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
Yes, and so his head is just going down, his feet.

Speaker 10 (33:32):
Stand up in the window.

Speaker 1 (33:33):
Gosh, those you had to say. Man, he's out, he's
think this happens more awful show Greg, guy, No, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Here.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
He's please don't look at everybody's reaction. Look at it
in the back. Look look in the back, look in
the back. They're fine. I'm like, oh my god, it's
like to him when he gets tackled. Yes he does.
My Dolphins fans, the Dolphin fans were saying this many times. Yes,

(34:04):
I that's that's that's scary.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
If it's a if it's a UFC fight, Herb Dean
is running in to say, stop the fight, stop the fight.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
Herb Dean in this Yes, it brought people in that
could have killed Yeah, they could have killed him. Cracked
and okay, so he's his legs aren't there? No, no, no,
oh no one. They kind of broke his legs. His
foot did get caught between the seat and the door.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
And you know what messed him up to is he
had the can of you know, the energy drink sponsor
in his hand. You know you're thinking about that he
doesn't want and that messed him.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
Could you please stop showing up? I think times. So listen,
let's just say this is terrible. It's a dangerous sport.
But imagine when you know a driver, if you hear
a driver didn't make it and you go all the
way to have it. No. Actually, he was standing on
the car celebrating and fell and hit his head. It's
not the same, not the same, not the same as

(35:07):
Wow three died, yea or others in the past. Right,
you know, I don't think we've recorded ever any person
dying following the victory lane and praise the Lord. He's okay, yeah,
the road collar bone, ye yeah. And of course, oh yeah,
they said, NASCAR has already been very very aggressive about this.
Now the drivers have to leave their helmet on all

(35:29):
the way through victory lane celebration.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
Insensitive but good.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Hey, you're going to stand on the car, you must
keep your helmet on. He is lucky. Did snap his leg?
Oh yeah, that leg? Yeah, that's that was that still shout,
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
So it brought people to his aid that weren't even
supposed to do anything but stand there in the background
like NASCAR volunteers.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
No matter who you are, you saw that. You go
that ain't yeah yeah, and then you go, well, do
we move him? Do we not move him? He said,
there with steff arms.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
You know, you know, And I honestly, I think the
drink in his hand messed him up. Look, he's holding
the drink up like I don't want.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
To make Greg Brown.

Speaker 8 (36:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
See look at that legs going thee My good. Look,
that's that he's young. That's an older driver.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
He's dead. That's Dick Trickle.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
That is the ultimate. You can't have He got twice Craig. Yeah,
but I'm just saying if that would have happened while
he was around. Yeah, it does take me back to
the grape stumper. That lady.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
You know, it's a very great lady.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
It's very very happy and excited.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
She was seriously injured too. She broke several ribs.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Watch watch, watch speed. He just melt. Don't miss what
that situation is. He has won the race. I know
he's happy. Look at his crew. They think, hey, we're
about to celebrate, and.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Then he's standing.

Speaker 1 (36:54):
They're going, what's going on? Pictures? Your son, he's nineteen,
he just won the race. You're getting pictures and you
worry about his safety. But not in that situation. You
think it's the.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Safe circle.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
You know. Yeah, that's like your that's like your son's
the quarterback and you were nervous the whole game. He
wins the game, you're excited, and he gets in the
golf cart and get and crashes it.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Yeah, like they're hoisting him up on the.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
And they drop him on his head. That's a grave.
Where I go to is I go?

Speaker 4 (37:23):
Now I'm in the I'm in the hospital room. And
now you wake up and you're the What happened? Well,
you were celebrating you know what, and and you fail?

Speaker 3 (37:32):
What one more time?

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Did I win the rage? Yes? Yeah, you knocked out
and then we carried you off. What are you talking about?
I know there's no way he remembers. They did say
before he left the track that he was talking, so
it wasn't like, you know that, still holding his drink.
But you can be talking and not remember it.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Here his last last time, last time.

Speaker 11 (37:53):
Here, okay, gracious lie anyway, Yeah, that is okay.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Yeah, Now we're gonna act like we care.

Speaker 6 (38:09):
He is the Rick Burger's Show.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
You got some vacation stories coming up next. I wur
uh so I know for a lot of you, by
the way, that the guys were telling me the break
that we had a kid in the in the preseason
game kick a seventy yard fielder. Yeah for the Jaguars,
seventy one and it doesn't count. Seven zero doesn't count,
cass this preseason yep, doesn't count. The record seventy seventy.

(38:37):
Believe that, good gracious Black Speedy said, you're lining up
to kicking the midfield logos in front of you. Yes,
you know that's all these kickers just like everything that
they're getting where they can, uh, you know, just the
athletes and and then even kickers are getting where they
can kick further than ever, and the athletes are getting bigger, stronger, faster,
and you know, Hell had it forever, yeah jagged See

(39:00):
did you just refer to him as old club it's
a weird little club foot with does he remember that? Yeah,
it's like a half a foot all right, So this
is then he filed the record forever. Yeah he is.
He's standing on his forty yeah, and on his yeah,
so he is on his for you're.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Right, hangs hangtime.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
He killed it, guys. He makes that relatively easy.

Speaker 3 (39:24):
In the air, in the air, in the air, still
in the air, still in the air, still in the air.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
Through the goalpost. So seventy isn't crazy? Yeah? Who Greg
refers to his old club foot? Yeah it was. Butler
beat him from right. Butler kicked it further right. The
guy from Georgia, I remember, Elam had it for a
while and then he was a guy. Now they said
it the other day, I've never heard of and I
think it's sixty six is the current? By the way,

(39:48):
was it elam that? Also speaking of living on an island,
there was a Hawaii and at one point was talking
to dad about coming to Jacksonville State. He was from
like Jordan, and Dad was like, you know you probably
you know, I'd love to have you, but I mean
you didn't even think that out yeah, you know, And
because he was sitting and recruited him before he went yeah,
he's like, wow, you know, I'm on an island and

(40:08):
he starts out here. He had a really good Yeah
he did.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
It was Tom Dempsey. Uh, non Jack, dampsy Jack?

Speaker 1 (40:14):
Did you call him Jack Dempsey? That was the box
was clubfoot, Yeah, Tom Dempsey. And he had a half
arm too, Yes, Greg, he did.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
Hey, and now with the kid, but now it is
sixty six yards justin Tucker, Okay, say what you wanted
about that, But twenty twenty one, that was.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
But Dempsey held the record for year a long time
and people thought the club foot might have been an advantage.
I think it was you. Yeah, he straight on kicker
he had had that he had that she had still
in front of it. Yeah, he had little remember that
little half foot. Yeah, some people thought that, hey, that
wasn't fair, right, yeah, because well he had him he
still in front of It's just hard to call it.

Speaker 10 (40:48):
Guy hand, you're right, yeah.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
So you meant you mentioned Jack Dempsey and it made
me think the boxer. Yeah, and we have a story
to look at that foot, yeah, Greg gont's.

Speaker 1 (40:59):
See it straight on kick. So he couldn't do a
soccer style with that foot, no, yall. His chin strap
didn't cover his chin. He didn't want trap. It's right.
Look I mean his face mask. Sorry, his face mask
didn't even cover his chin. His face mac was it
was even with his nose. He's not worried. Even then,

(41:20):
a lot of the quarterbacks didn't wear no. I mean
remember brad Shaw until he changed with almost his eyes
or his nurse time when he he broke, Well, they
had more time to did you see him. He was
able to kind of so much much stutter staff well
and and and guys, we have to say though he
kicked it that far, just straight on, straight on, remember

(41:43):
the straight on kick. The last one I remember was
that guy for the Redskins. He was the last of them.
You're right, one of the dying breed. Straight on kicker.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
There you anyway back to Jack Dempsey and boxing and
all this. We have a story today. Is it true
that there was a Japanese Two Japanese boxers died after
they fault?

Speaker 1 (42:02):
Yes, what trauma? I don't think they from two different fights.
But it was the same weekend or maybe on the
same card. I ain't sure I was that we have Yeah,
we have a story on today. We'll have to jump
into just maybe think about it. Head trauma and all that.
Ain't that something? Well I did? I didn't hear that.

Speaker 3 (42:21):
Also at the same Tokyo event, two fighters die. It
looks like there was separate It was separate fights.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
The same event and the same event.

Speaker 2 (42:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:31):
People, many people die every year in boxing.

Speaker 1 (42:35):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
I don't know if a lot of people know that,
but a couple of people die every single year.

Speaker 10 (42:40):
I did not know that no one has ever died
in the UFC.

Speaker 1 (42:44):
Okay, well, oh, okay, they have. He always finds the
way back to the well.

Speaker 4 (42:49):
The guy that got slammed this past weekend, I'm surprised
he survived that. The body slam the pick up, you know,
how you pick up somebody.

Speaker 1 (42:56):
And then slam them on their masks. Yes, slammed him
in his It was on his neck.

Speaker 10 (43:00):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 1 (43:01):
Look like I was like, how do you even get
up after that? He did and he was out, but
you know what I mean, how do you even survive that? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (43:09):
I mean he was It was one of those things
where you know, you lock around the waist. Yeah, and
he picked him up.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
And it was like damn. Yeah, some guys are.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
That's why that's a that's the risk of going full
guard here. It is right here, speed exactly right. I
missed that he is. Yeah, in the UFC, so you're
not allowed to spear someone into the ground, but this
like kind of a flat slam on their back is fine.

Speaker 10 (43:30):
You can't.

Speaker 3 (43:31):
You can't like send their head. You're not supposed to
send their head into the ground.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
But didn't. Didn't It wouldn't his head slam into onto
the mask.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
His head, but it's more of a string.

Speaker 1 (43:40):
Now why he's laying there knocked out cold?

Speaker 3 (43:41):
He is out?

Speaker 1 (43:42):
Yeah, guy did punch him as he's laying there. Yeah, yeah,
gotta follow up.

Speaker 4 (43:45):
But it's almost like sometimes you see that they fall
more of and it's a flat back, you know, like this, but.

Speaker 1 (43:51):
He feil where his neck was like that. I was
like that, okay, uh, and then the guy co cox
him one more time. A couple make sure.

Speaker 3 (44:01):
Yeah, sure, you don't stop until the herb Deane tells
you to stop.

Speaker 12 (44:05):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
He was he did that was That guy's name was Cosima,
and he was able to leave the octagon under his own.

Speaker 10 (44:12):
Power after that. But guys, I'm so out of the loop.

Speaker 3 (44:16):
On the whole fighting thing. I just might. I got
destroyed by yard work and my children just for a
week straight, and I'm back here at work to rest
and catch up on what's actually going on.

Speaker 1 (44:24):
In the world. Now. You're at that time of life,
and I remember it vividly. Your your kid's age, and
we'll come back. We'll talk about school starting for everybody,
which you know a lot of people out in our
audience right now in a whole different schedule again because
school's back back at it. But you're you're at that
point in your life, and I remember it vividly. Y'all
do too. Guys. You you go back to work to rest,

(44:48):
oh yeah, because yeah, the vacation is exhausting, if not
more than a regular work week. I remember that vividly
coming back off vacation and I had a job that
was actually hard work, and I still was ready to
get back. Yeah, it ain't like I was working here, No,
you know right.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
I pressure watched so much that Oh, I felt like
I should start my own company.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Oh, I felt the same way.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
I got jungle rod in my feet because of how
much time I spent pressure watching this this weekend, my
toes turned into much I wet feet for twelve hours,
many days in a row.

Speaker 1 (45:20):
You think that was rough? I sat on a beautiful
island for seven straight days. Yeah, my, how did you
do it? Man Wady? Don't hand him foot?

Speaker 9 (45:26):
Treating Little Bird is the Rick Burcher's show, Did America?

Speaker 1 (45:37):
Good to be back having a blast with you as always,
So coming up this week everything returns to normal. So Wednesday,
Bible Study will be back Strange Encounters and another episode
coming out this weekend on the new podcast as well,

(45:58):
So hopefully you got caught up on archives from the
Bible Studies and the podcast that you may have missed
did get new episodes though on Ricking Bubba's Greatest Hits
in radio Golds. Hopefully you're still enjoying that as well,
looking back over the three decades of the Rick and
Bubby Show and enjoyed those moments too. So school has
started back. Somebody said on text you you're saying school

(46:19):
or school. Where we're from, you call it school school,
go back to school Calhoune County when school start going
to school?

Speaker 3 (46:28):
Just straight up school.

Speaker 1 (46:29):
Yeah, by the way, I don't know how it happened,
especially being on vacation and going away and just trying
to just be refreshed. I had a stress stream about school.
Do y'all have those student Yeah, I'm in the class
I hadn't studied. How can it?

Speaker 6 (46:47):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (46:48):
I had one while I was gone, And in my
dream it's either that I have this one that's reoccurring
and it happened again for some reason. On my schedule
there's two classes that I've never attended, and I keep
wondering what's going to happen, and like, can I just
go in there and see if I can catch up?
Should I just never go? I have the same Do
you really? And then I think, I mean that's going

(47:09):
to be anxiety because I've messed up. I'm mad am
I gonna get a zero? Is that an F? Is
it an incomplete?

Speaker 3 (47:16):
I still have that, but not that I'm not in school.

Speaker 1 (47:22):
I do not have that. I had it last week. Well,
I will tell you this now, I will because you've
brought it up. That and the one where I'm trying
to get somewhere and I'm trying, like I'm in a
building and I keep going in the wrong rooms and
I can't find it. Or sometimes I've even in a stadium.
I've got lost, and we'll go through this gate. All
that ain't it? And I'm supposed to do something and
I can't get there because I'm lost in the building? Mine?

(47:42):
Is I at that one? Mineus? It ties into that
they combine them. Sometimes today I've decided I'm going to
that class and try and see if I taught to
the teacher and get it right. And then I can't
find the class exactly like what is topping class?

Speaker 3 (47:58):
And it's so frustrating. Your same everybody get in the van.
Why isn't everybody getting in the Okay.

Speaker 10 (48:03):
No, you need to get in the van.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
Get in the van, and then it's eight hours of
that in your dream, and you're like, this is so frustrating.

Speaker 1 (48:10):
I have the one custom what we do for a
living where I'm here and we can't get anything. We
can't get on there. Oh rack, Yeah, I've had that one.
I'm in there at the screen and I'm panicking, and
then back to.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
The you're holding two cords together that don't work.

Speaker 1 (48:24):
It does work, Greg back in the rock band days.
I've showed up at the Amphitheater and I look and
nothing's on the stage, and like the crowds like here,
and I'm like, guess we're not settling, not even ready,
we're not running.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
Crowds just looking at you, silent.

Speaker 1 (48:35):
Like yeah, what are y'all gonna do? And why? And
I'm like, I guys, I want I'm out here.

Speaker 4 (48:39):
Yeah, where's the sound? So y'all have these recurring dreams.
I don't really different versions of the same theme.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
Okay, so I didn't have.

Speaker 4 (48:46):
I did have a weird dream over the vacation and
we were in there, Terry and I, well, Terry and
I were sitting and it was some you know how
sometimes you you're you're somewhere, but you don't really know
where it is. It's like it was a speaking engagement
of some kind. And we were in the middle of
a row and it was a very serious moment. I
couldn't really ever figure out where we were.

Speaker 1 (49:06):
But I had to pee. Oh boy, and and and
but I get up, and Terry was saying, I would
be rude if I got up, And so she said,
just peeking your pants. You're gonna have to do. You
just have to stay right here. No, I almost did.
I woke up. It's because I had to pee. This
a little bit of dribble. No, I think I'm fine. No,
she said, You're just gonna have to pee in your pants.

(49:28):
I thought that was so weird. I'm like, why would
I do that? I kind of wish. There's also dream.
There's also dream. There's also the speaking engagement. I forgot about.
Oh wait a minute, that actually happened. I actually did that.
It's all right, But so so school Uh started out

(49:49):
for so many people school and Adler, you're the only
one that has anybody in Greg has grandchildren that started
to school. And uh, and Ruby started what what? What
where's she at?

Speaker 2 (49:59):
Now?

Speaker 1 (50:00):
Is this four K?

Speaker 10 (50:00):
This is kindergarten? WHOA, I'm a big girl now, Yeah, y'all.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
It was wow.

Speaker 3 (50:08):
I And because she has been both both I and
my wife worked full time, so our kids are in
a full time daycare. And the dropping ruby off on
that first day, this was back in Covid by the way,
and we had to like meet the principal at the
door and it was like you can't even come in,

(50:28):
And that was a weird moment. And right, absolutely, that
was a weird moment and hard and you just worry
the whole time this And I thought I was kind
of over that.

Speaker 1 (50:42):
You're pat you thought this is not as dramatic for me.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
I thought I was over that. But man, when and
it was actually really fortunate that we were off because
I was able to ride with my wife and do
the drop off for her fisday of kindergarten. Yes, it
was fantastic to be able to be there for that moment.
But buddy, when she gets when they because they open
the door at this school, they open the door, they
get their backpack out, you know that she and when

(51:08):
she's walking away from the car with her little backpack home,
I'm just staying in the car and just watching her
big little self go Like that was harder than I
thought it was gonna be.

Speaker 1 (51:19):
Look there she is how precious and so lady. Enjoy it.
Enjoy it, buddy, because you're gonna have a senior picture.

Speaker 3 (51:26):
Yes, yes, they put the sign in the yard that
has the graduation date on it. I'm like, that's closer
than I'd like it to be. Oh yeah, that's not
I want that to be in the forties, not in
the thirties. But if she everything goes okay, she'll be
graduating in the thirties and I don't love that.

Speaker 1 (51:45):
And thirties and unlike their parents, are children mostly graduate
on time.

Speaker 3 (51:49):
Yes, right, see it. I see her doing well in school,
unlike her dad. Right, But buddy, it was it was
a big moment, man, and I honestly it bothered me
for the rest of the day. You know, yeah, it
was like I kept thinking about it. I did get
to jiu jitsu, and so for about thirty seconds I
stopped thinking about it for about thirty seconds.

Speaker 1 (52:11):
Thirty man.

Speaker 3 (52:13):
You know, she she she walks out of school and
I like, meet her at a crosswalk now and she's
just so big and it just happened so quick, my goodness,
don't blink, dn't. But we had a great week off,
just Ruby and I just It was a really nice
time to spend some time because her her school was

(52:33):
all because her daycare school was also closed during this
past week, so it was dad a rama all week
long as my wife, who was a teacher, was preparing
to come back to school. Yeah you know, she's got
that's like her super Bowl. Yeah was last week as well,
so it was mania. In fact, I took Ruby to
one of those trampoline jumping places.

Speaker 1 (52:53):
Oh yeah, that was brave.

Speaker 3 (52:55):
You guys know about these trampoline.

Speaker 1 (52:57):
You talking about the one where people are carried away
and analyses.

Speaker 3 (52:59):
Yeah, yeah, jacked up so many boxes to check on
that waiver. So man, and now I see why they
make you sign a new one every year. I was
a little upset. I hadn't been in over a year.
I had to go sign a waiver again. So I
had to go back to the back of business. This
is ridiculous, a flip tables and stuff, and I was like,

(53:21):
this is how you react to bad situations in public. Ruby,
That's what I said to her, right, Yeah, No, I
was cool.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
I was cool.

Speaker 3 (53:29):
She was not as cool. But I was like, we
gotta go through this thing on the iPad. We're just
please just wait. I know you see children jumping and
laughing happily ten feet away, but please let me sign
this waiver.

Speaker 1 (53:38):
Hang on.

Speaker 3 (53:39):
So and I'm in it. It's just Ruby and I
and So. I'm doing all the stuff. If she goes
and tries to do the warped wall, I'm gonna go
and try and do the war. If she jumps into
the phone pit, I'm jumping in the.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
Into the phone what are you think?

Speaker 3 (53:56):
And there is at this particular uh rampoline place, they
have a tight rope like a like a tight rope
over a phone pit. You can walk a tight rope
over a phone pit. And I'm like, you know what,
I can. I think I'm gonna give this a shot. Dad,
I'm gonna give it a shot. So I get on
this tight rope and I'm walking and I get like

(54:17):
two steps in and I'm like, I start losing my balance.
I fall and I kind of fell and it kind
of whipped me in a flip, like and getting out
of these phone pits is incredibly difficult. It's like swimming
in quicksands.

Speaker 1 (54:37):
You've seen the big woman that disappeared when she fell
in there, and yeah, where she was.

Speaker 3 (54:41):
Down there mats.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
She's went all the way through all the cushion and everything.

Speaker 3 (54:44):
And most of the normal parents are sitting in chairs
watching their kids. So there's parents around watching me do this.

Speaker 1 (54:52):
Well, you're the same size, flipping it. Yeah, and they're
all like that kids, he's got facial hair. He's too old, right.

Speaker 3 (54:59):
I get out of the hitch and touch my back
pocket and realize my phone is gone. No, yes, my
phone is in the pit, the.

Speaker 1 (55:09):
Phone pit that is, you'll never find it.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
I didn't think. I thought I was gonna get a
across the tight rope, but I didn't. So now I'm like,
stop stopping. Kids are trying to jump into the phone.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
You're that guy. You're ruining everything.

Speaker 3 (55:25):
They're jumping in my phone.

Speaker 2 (55:26):
Where you are?

Speaker 1 (55:27):
I'm sorry, my dad, My dad's ruining the day.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Side and so and and now. But now kids are
actually helping me. So shout out to the kids and
that we're now it's we're we're throwing the dollar for.

Speaker 1 (55:40):
Whoever finds my phone.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
And I go, I go, it's black And one of
the little girls goes, oh. I'm like, yeah, I know
that hurts me. Y'all we did. I'm thinking I'm I
live here now. I'm like, oh no. A mom comes
up and she's like, what's your phone number? I'll call it.
It's probably on silent, but I'll call it anyway. And
I know it's on silent, but I still give.

Speaker 1 (55:59):
Her my tribe. I don't know why I always try.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (56:03):
Why is this woman's number in your phone?

Speaker 3 (56:04):
Why does this lady call you? Right?

Speaker 1 (56:07):
No one, no wonder. You don't want me to go right?

Speaker 3 (56:11):
And so the lady, the lady did call it, and
she goes anyway, strike to voicemail.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
I was like, I knew it was might not even
give you my number.

Speaker 3 (56:20):
I'm in the pit and she's yelling at me.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
Down into the pit is a pit coming up to
like your your chin, And.

Speaker 3 (56:26):
I'm digging in the pit and I am through a
tunnel of blocks. I see it. It is pinched in
between two blocks, ready to fall even deeper into the abyss.
I reached down to you and I hold it up
in there and I'm like.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
Yes, I got it, and every loved it. Yeah, you
hailed everybody.

Speaker 3 (56:43):
And so the kids get to play again, and so
for some reason, I'm like, I gotta conquer this tightrope.
So now my phone do a tightrope, and I get
on the tightrope again, and I'm trying to take a
step or two. And remember how I said to the
about the guy that, uh, the NASCAR driver that hit

(57:04):
his head. Yeah, okay, y'all. I smashed my knee because
I'm on this thing and I lose my balance and
I'm like, oh no, I'm falling. I got my phone
in my hand and I see a pad that I
think is soft. I'm like, I'm going knee there. I'm laying.
I'm like, it was not soft, it was not crushed
your knee, Cad. I smashed my knee horribly bad, and

(57:30):
and I'm sure the parents that are watching me. First
I get flipped over the wire and lose my phone
and then go immediately back to it and destroy my knee.
I'm sure the parents are looking at me, thinking, what's
wrong with this guy?

Speaker 1 (57:42):
This guy who I bet somebody a complaining somebody what
nobody kept saying. He thinks he could do a tight
rope based on what.

Speaker 3 (57:50):
Yeah, I thought it was gonna be the safest thing there.
I got annihilated by sky Zone, the trampoline place.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
This is another statistic.

Speaker 10 (58:03):
But we yeah, it was, it was.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
We had.

Speaker 3 (58:05):
I had a great week with my family. I do
feel like I got ran over by a steamroller. Yeah,
I'm glad to be home. Uh just between the the lawn,
the woods, the pressure watching and having kids just run
over me all week.

Speaker 10 (58:18):
I'm so glad to be back to work.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
But man, mister Chandian.

Speaker 3 (58:21):
That's the real mister Channing. That's not done the replacements.

Speaker 6 (58:24):
Here's the Rick Burgess show.

Speaker 1 (58:32):
Getting there. He'll be forty on his next birthday. Yeah,
that's a whole nother world, buddy. You don't try to
walk tight ropes at forty. Yeah, I mean that that's
a that's a thirty and late twenties dead kind of thing.
Sure I can tell you that.

Speaker 4 (58:46):
Yeah, yeah, I know, I know if you like, I
know that hurt and knee is definitely forty.

Speaker 1 (58:50):
My knee is definitely Oh by the way, don't think
it's gonna heal quickly. No, no, no, I know.

Speaker 4 (58:55):
Like if you're on the water and you're skiing or
something and you hit hard, you just lay there and
you're like, you know, you're just grown. Did you do
that when you fail? Were you laying in the pit,
in the phone pit, just going y'all.

Speaker 3 (59:09):
It would be like standing on top of this desk
and just just doing a knee drop onto the ground,
Like my knee hurts so bad. And I felt like
everybody was watching me because I looked like and I
tried not to limp away, and I did limp away.
It was I tried not. Your body couldn't do it

(59:30):
with it, couldn't do it. I think I chipped my kneecap.
I mean, my goodness, it hurts so much.

Speaker 1 (59:36):
You're gonna get to an age where you'll look at
a tight rope like that over a bunch of phone
You're gonna pass, yes, but you're not there yet.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
That was the moment it changed.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
You need to have been so many adults that have
limped out of those places. Oh look, I'm telling you.
I know a mother when our kids were still in school.
Her life was completely shattered by it. I mean, like,
wheelchair from one of those places.

Speaker 3 (59:59):
Wheelchair forever, wheelchair I'm not.

Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Sure about that, but really really bad thing for a.

Speaker 3 (01:00:04):
While, really wheelchair for a while.

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
Still possibly still wheelchair, I don't know. Wheelchair. That'st time
I started you in a wheelchair you should.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
Reach out more, first of all. Second of all, how
how far was that after the incident the wheelchair spotting?

Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
Months?

Speaker 10 (01:00:23):
Months?

Speaker 6 (01:00:24):
Months?

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
Wow, it was a big legendary story. Her legs shattered
by somebody trying to double springer.

Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
Oh, the double bounce will mess you up, shatter the bones,
that'll buckle your everything.

Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
Okay, well, all just keep going. Uh the sign I
doubles bring the grandkids and they boy, they fly speaking.
They asked me to do it, and then when I
do it, they don't want me to do it anymore.
No more, Papa, Yeah, why did you want to do that?

Speaker 7 (01:00:49):
Bob?

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
Mary time you got I want to do that? I
really didn't want to do that. So now, grandkid world.
How many of them went to school? Okay? We had okay,
So Ellis is going in the first grade, okay, and
then Marion, his sister, she's going in is it pre
K four? Four k K She's been there in the
same building. So they did have a precious picture of

(01:01:12):
him walking her in, holding her hand. They go to
the same school. Of course, they probably turned the corner
and got to fight, but it was a great picture.
And then pace is in four K right, he said,
he likes it, but it's a lot longer than church. Yeah,
and then that was his comment, I like it, but

(01:01:32):
that she is a lot longer than church. And then
Mary Hollis is mad, tiny, tiny, little tiny because she's
just too She's mad because her brother's going to school
and her mom's going back to school because Chainter teaches,
and so she's not happy about that. So they had
to deal. She threw a good fit, Oh did she?
She didn't understand why men left there because everybody's gone now. Yeah.

(01:01:56):
So that but that's pretty much.

Speaker 12 (01:01:58):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
Ellis acts like he hates it. Then he comes home
and to Taylor. Then he comes home and talks about
how much funny had he said, So you can't pay
attention to him. So he always has something to lad
to you about something new. Yeah, and then I sounded.

Speaker 9 (01:02:08):
Like you, Greg, yeah a lot, So.

Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
That he does, and he's like, what three of the
four started school? Wow, some shape or form. Okay. Mary
Hollis is just mad about it. Okay. So Marin loves it.
Alice complains about it, but then comes home like it
was good, talks about and pay said it was alright,
but a lot longer long for a lot longer than church.

Speaker 2 (01:02:28):
It's so good.

Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
And Mary mad, she's not going anywhere. Yeah, now she's mad.
Her mom's left and her brother. Wow.

Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
How do those little two year olds hold so much
anger in them? You know, it's like, how does it
fit in such a small containment. It looks like they
don't have enough room for all so angry.

Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
Explain. I remember, I can't remember the first time, you know,
having five two year olds. I said that to a
guy on vacation. He was struggling with a two year old.
I saw him and I said, I said, let me, yes,
he's two. He goes, How did you know that, I said,
because I've had five of them. Yeah, And he said,
he said, you hit his age. Yeah, And I can't
remember the first time, Like you were talking about, I
saw one of them bang its head on the floor

(01:03:06):
because I'm so mad. I mean literally bang its head
on the floor. And I thought that, well, that's really mad,
that's mad, that's that's upset. Yeah, you know, it's like
they just wanted they just wanted to.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
Ezra turned and hit a glass window with his hand yesterday,
just I'm like, buddy, you're gonna break that.

Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
Not a good move. I think that's that something about
they call it terrible too's there's something about two where
I think they've gotten just old enough that they think
they can be a little more independent than they really can,
and so they get frustrated that you want because we're
still saying you're a lot more of a baby than
you think you are, Okay, and they and they're just frustrating.
It's the first time they kind of push back on

(01:03:47):
that a little bit. I can do it. I can
do it. I can do that. You know I can
do it. I can do it. They always want to
do it.

Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
They want that independent, that freedom, independence, and we won't
give it to them.

Speaker 3 (01:03:57):
And they get so mad when they gets so frustrated
with every little tiny thing, and everything is a meltdown.
You're like, buddy, you were my blood pressures through the roof.
And I'm trying to be a good example of what
patience and kindness and gentleness and self control are. But boy,
you're making a difficult.

Speaker 2 (01:04:13):
Friend, right.

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
The guy looked at me when I said I've had
five of them. He almost looked at me like, well,
you seem to be okay, Yeah, you made Hi'm like, no,
I'm not Okay, I'm traumatizing.

Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
Ruby did come back from her first day of kindergarten
like she had been in a war. Just like she's like,
I love that school.

Speaker 6 (01:04:32):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:04:40):
Did y'all see this? I saw this over the weekend.
The guy goes by the name mister hammer Hand, hammer Hand,
hammer Hand, sixty six years old. Have any of you
ever tried to crack a walnut before? It's not easy.
It's a major ordeal. Now I want you to watch
mister Hammerhand. Look at that for watch him break walnuts

(01:05:02):
like they're like there, and he broke a new world
record record for that. He crushed two hundred and ninety
three walnuts in one minute. Wow. Watch him go on
these walnuts here.

Speaker 3 (01:05:13):
And so it's hammer He's got three rows of walnuts
in front of him and he they're all laid out
in front of him on it like it looks like
a concrete rack, and he's just going to town. Stop Gregg, sweetie,
every little tap is a walnut and he is smashing
it to pieces.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
Wow. Well, has right, gracious, he's getting off his rhythm.

Speaker 10 (01:05:39):
But now he's back.

Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
But I mean, guess you, I mean he's just breaking
them like there's nothing. These are walnuts. At this point
your hand, I would really be hurting.

Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
But guess what. He also has an uncracked, raw egg
in his cracking hand right now. That's part of the
world record.

Speaker 1 (01:05:56):
Yes, he did not hold an egg.

Speaker 3 (01:05:58):
He's holding an egg in his hand. It's part of
the record. I don't know why, but it is. He
has a raw, uncracked egg in his hand. So that's
part of like having a hammer hand.

Speaker 1 (01:06:10):
I guess Okay, I didn't know what. I'm already tired
of him doing it. Okay, I'm exhausted. But but he's
crushing him nuts.

Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
He's like a jackhammer.

Speaker 1 (01:06:20):
Yes, yes, and I made his hand. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:06:25):
Look there's the egg in his hand.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
They're about to drop the egg on a plate to
show that it is a normal egg.

Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
How did that have He didn't get to the end.
He wanted to get to.

Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
The in so his hands blad his hand.

Speaker 1 (01:06:38):
Yeah that is insane and a pretty cool T shirt.
But no, why where that to work? Right? That's right?

Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Better?

Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
Not unfortunate placement of the of the artwork, but the
jo don't you think I will come here and Greg
be sitting here and mister, wait a minut he would
take what should be a pretty good skill and by
the time I've done, I'd never do it again. Be embarrassed.
I mean, it looks like a bunch of brown golf

(01:07:08):
balls laying there. Yeah, guys, have they ever tried to
crush the wall like this?

Speaker 6 (01:07:12):
That hurts?

Speaker 1 (01:07:13):
Imagine if there's a walnut. Yeah, two hundred and ninety
three of them and sixty seconds holding a raw egg
and his striking hand. As ad Or pointed out, why
I don't get the ra Well, I guess that just
makes it harder. If you crush the egg, then you're out. Yeah, yeah,
I guess. Yeah, it's hard enough. Why do you want
to add that? Right? Also a hammerhanding care since since

(01:07:34):
we're on phenoms right now, Video ten. You know how
we've seen these horrible things where people get into a
gym and they're they've got too much weight and they
don't have anybody spotting them, and they get themselves in
a buying Yeah, apparently somebody has come up with something.
And I'm with you, added, I don't know why more
gems don't go to this. It is a bench pressed

(01:07:55):
dump butt. Yes, like if you can't handle it, you
can get it off of you.

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
So this guy's gonna get trapped underneath the bar, and
he's gonna with his foot just kick this bar right here,
and the whole bench that he's laying on will go down.
You can see he's struggle. It's coming down. Can't get
can't get it back yeah, way too much. Way, can't
get it back up. So kick and then boom and
you're saved by the rack.

Speaker 1 (01:08:16):
Oh that's that's brilliant. One with the cables and then
it goes and you.

Speaker 3 (01:08:23):
Turn it to make it hook and all that. Yeah, yeah, that,
But I have not seen basically an escape bar.

Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
That's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
I'd like that. Yes. Have y'all ever had to ask
for help?

Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
No, not that I'm strong. I just don't try to
lift stuff. I know I can't, right. Yeah. If so,
if it's close, you just ask somebody to come back. Now,
I want to clarify this. What you're saying is now
back in the day. I don't know if we've ever
mentioned I played little ball, no, and so when we
were on teams, Greg, there was always spotters around. Have
I had to have the spotter come in? Yeah, of course.

Speaker 13 (01:08:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:08:56):
But you're talking about I'm working out on my own
and I'm in over my head and I have to
go to a stranger. I did knew it.

Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
Yes, it's horrible.

Speaker 1 (01:09:09):
You were trying to overcompensate.

Speaker 3 (01:09:10):
You're so stupid, and I don't know what I just
was thinking in my mind. Regular bench press military is
way harder. Guys, like you know, when you're trying to
go straight up. You're sitting there, sitting in a chair
going straight up. Press, yeah, shoulder press, military, press whatever, press,
push it up, and I get it on my chest
and I'm just stuck then, and I had to I

(01:09:33):
had to ask a guy, hey, baby.

Speaker 1 (01:09:38):
Imber we were doing child, didn't or didn't something happen
to you during the lift on that? Just something happened
when you were gregging speedy I had.

Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
I had a weird thing happened in the back of
my head where I got like it's like a weight
lifter's headache. You talking about it, it's like when you
all of a sudden get a migraine type you don't
remember stabbing pain in the back.

Speaker 10 (01:10:00):
Here he out.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
He was pretty much crying like lit o b. It
was it was like somebody stabbed me in the head
before your breath every time. Of course, tackled and make
sure he was okay. Of course he did.

Speaker 10 (01:10:13):
Of course it happens. It's it's a needed.

Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
Mouth and mouth over that. It was that the same
day you went out for passes.

Speaker 3 (01:10:19):
That was when you pegged me.

Speaker 10 (01:10:21):
On the first day of being at Torch. You threw
it at me.

Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
Had you should have reported them to.

Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
But it can be from strenuous work, and it usually
lasts five to forty eight hours. Five five minutes and
forty eight hours. Yeah, drink more water and warm up.
I didn't warm up the leg press.

Speaker 1 (01:10:43):
I remember it. By the way, listen, I think we've
moved off a little quick and mastering some for hell.

Speaker 3 (01:10:48):
That sucked were these was this front shoulders or by
crazy front?

Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
So it was in the front of you, stuck on
your on your you're stuck.

Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
Off my chest. Just hey, buddy, hey, hey sir, hey
adult man, can you help this little boy? Like That's
how it felt got pretty stronger.

Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
Should you have asked someone else?

Speaker 10 (01:11:07):
He helped me.

Speaker 3 (01:11:08):
I pushed up.

Speaker 1 (01:11:09):
I want voice and everything right now, give me voice.

Speaker 3 (01:11:13):
Luckily, he walked. You're just waiting for somebody to walk by.
That's what I was doing.

Speaker 1 (01:11:17):
And what did you say?

Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
A horrible experience?

Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Terrible experience the weight lifter headache voice dramatic about it.

Speaker 3 (01:11:30):
Oh yeah, it felt like a spike in the back
of my head. If you've ever had this happen.

Speaker 1 (01:11:34):
You thought you had, didn't bad? Yes, yes, it.

Speaker 3 (01:11:38):
Felt like mister Hammerhand was hitting me in the back
of the head.

Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
But what's your nickname? Hammer hand? O?

Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
Good there, he said, he's been really good at this
ever since. It was all.

Speaker 1 (01:11:54):
Right, that can't sound good. By the way, here's wearing glasses.

Speaker 6 (01:12:05):
Is the Rick Burger's Show.

Speaker 1 (01:12:12):
So we do have a lot to talk about. We've
talked about a lot, but still much more to go.
And so a couple of things from vacation. We've hit
a couple of things with the guys. So the plan
for uh, Sherry and me, you know, we're empty nesters,
which is great freedom adult children, you know, and we
do every other year or something. You'll try to do

(01:12:34):
the let's take everybody who can go, you know, and
all that, and we've done that many times, uh, and
this one because of the you know, starting the new show,
you know, we we all went a lot longer other
than having you Fourth of July off and Memorial Day.
But we haven't had a vacation, and we normally have

(01:12:55):
had one by now. So you know, we were we
were all a little I think. I don't know if
y'all felt that way. I felt I felt like we
needed some risks. I thought we were a little it
was time taking a little break, and we felt like
we built up enough hours we could play, you know,
best of shows and all that. So Cherry and I,
as soon as we knew what this year is gonna

(01:13:15):
be like, Cherry started trying to find somewhere for us
to go. And so she found a little island in
the Bahamas, and she said, let's just go there, just
you and me, and we're just gonna go. Chill is
the main thing we're gonna do. We're gonna look at
beautiful water, we're gonna be on beautiful beaches, We're gonna
stay somewhere, let's eat great food, and let's just relax.

(01:13:38):
And I was like, that is fantastic. Now, Sherry said,
she did not know that I was gonna basically turn
into Ernest Hemingway. And now think that I live on
an island and that the Bahamians, you know, they're all
calling me Papa. And and she goes, you really take
into this island thing, and what's up with the hat?
And she said, I bought that just kind of afraid

(01:14:00):
skin cancer deal to put on to kind of because
you know, you go to these island places. That's a
harsh sun. It is, that's a harsh sun. And uh.
And so I said, why do you do you think
I'm overdoing the hat? She goes, well, I mean do
you think you look sharp in it? Because it's kind
of becoming your thing you're like wearing You're like wearing
it to restaurant, yeah, stuff, and and uh or that. Yeah.

(01:14:23):
And I was like, you know, I didn't. I didn't
think I was going too far with it. I uh,
you know, here I am. You know, I'm sitting here
breakfast with it on, and you know, and you know,
I posted the picture that was.

Speaker 2 (01:14:37):
In the sand.

Speaker 1 (01:14:38):
Greg was Greg was asking, you know, and you know,
everybody caused me big Papa, and you know you need anything, Papa,
you know, and I'm like, I'm good, guys, thank you good.
But anyways, so, so Sherry kept saying you wouldn't take
it off she was like, you're really going to Ernest
hemingway here, you need to kind of I mean, yet
you're you're then so I'm looking at these Look at
that water that I pretty is that water? I think

(01:14:59):
it's the most BEAUTIFU with the Caribbean is the most beautiful.
Do y'all say Caribbean or Caribbean? I say Caribbean because
Billy Ocean did? Thank you? Right, yeah, Svember.

Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
With with copy we were it was some big giveaway
and they wanted you to say Caribbean.

Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
I'm okay with Caribbean. I don't want I.

Speaker 3 (01:15:15):
Say Caribbean because I'm saying Pirates of the Caribbean exactly.
I'm saying the movie title some reason.

Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
Yeah, don't you wish Billy Ocean was from there? Yes
he was, he knew what it was called.

Speaker 4 (01:15:27):
Don't you wish that that the doctor would come take
your blood pressure when you're sitting there looking at that and.

Speaker 1 (01:15:33):
So the right, Yeah, I think you. I think no,
that's like a hedge between between us and the beach.
It's a lot of greens of greenery, groundhogs they love kud. Yeah,
and so no, you're right, I believe the doctor if
he came down, or he would have taken me off
any man. Right, Yeah, you don't need either, don't they

(01:15:55):
don't they visit us there? Look at that right there,
that's by the way from our room. Nice well play,
So your room was inside the cuts? No, well these
are these are hedges, Greg And you can't see through
the hedges hold outside you know, of course those hedges
probably would need it all the way around. And I
didn't quite know about the turndown service. And I'd like
to apologize to one of the members of the staff

(01:16:17):
that saw me nickd uh. Yeah, it was a bad
moment man, woman, man or woman? It was a woman.
And have you ever seen people have burnt their eyes?
Oh my god, naking man, I'm going to go this
And should you wear your hat there? And and I
know it's a nice place. I know it's a nice place,

(01:16:39):
but I can turn my bed sheet now, yeah, I wouldn't.
I didn't even know that was I didn't even know
a man from Yeah, I didn't even know where you
want your hat? Good thing? I had my hat, Papa, so, oh, Papa,
I didn't know about it. And you see right there
that that's right outside with you walking around niked look

(01:17:00):
or you're just looking out the door. You see the
Caribbean or the Caribbean, you know. So I like keeping
the curtains open because I like looking at the water,
and so I can't even exhibitionist. Yeah, like people looking
at it like that. It's early evenings, early evening because
I'm coming out of the you know, the shower and everything,
and We're getting ready to go to dinner or whatever.

(01:17:21):
I'm just walking, you know, and it's just me and
my you know, I'm I'm hey man, I'm on vacation.
And I looked, look coming up right here. Okay, I said,
I didn't know I come out like and the person look,
you see, she's got to show. She goes and she
just turned her head and dugs And I told you,
I said, I think somebody just saw me naked.

Speaker 3 (01:17:39):
Rick. This is clearly a public square. This is not
like you're the public squarely a public right outside your place.

Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
Right, that's a trail. That's I see another I see
another ship. Well that's different. I was inside the house.
I wasn't on the porch the party. She gave you
a tip.

Speaker 2 (01:17:59):
I looked over, I.

Speaker 1 (01:17:59):
Said, I left the team. But again there's five women
out there there right now, so I want to apologize
for that, right and so so the hot all what
is it? That's how people in the Caribbean talked. I
don't know what you talk about. Wonderful people, the Bahamians
except for the one that was traumatized, the Bahamians that

(01:18:22):
you never saw. Did you see that I suck popping naked?
But anyway, so uh did you see that team? But anyway,
so so anyway, Uh, it's my bad. That's on me.
That's on me. Uh and uh and I learned my
lesson on that one. So you know, one of the things. Yeah,

(01:18:43):
one of the things. And it was just all, you know,
hanging out unfortunately now spending time just well in this
one thing. Listen, I think a lot of you, the
courage were already open.

Speaker 2 (01:18:57):
Everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:18:58):
I think everybody raise your hand. Of the biggest things
when you go staying in just kind of a room,
you know, because the beautiful thing about when the whole
family goes is you usually try to rent a house,
which means it has multiple bathrooms. And but when you're
just in there with your wife, even though it's your wife,
they're going to dominate the bathroom they are, And so
there was only one bathroom. There was one toilet, and

(01:19:22):
you know, and I like a lot of privacy. The
toilet didn't even have a door on it, so you know,
you're if somebody's in the showers, somebody's in there. No,
I mean it was it was nice, but it was
go out in the cuts and take a back. Why
couldn't there be Why couldn't we have a door on
the toilet that part?

Speaker 3 (01:19:39):
Yeah, you know what do they call it a water
closet or something like that? When the toilets in its
own little room?

Speaker 1 (01:19:45):
That is nice. You can just drop large private. Yeah,
well how about this? And it's too much muddler, it's
too much money. But I said, you know what, I
wish we'd just picked up another room for no other reason,
for me to just have my own bathroom. Yeah, you know,
because that was probably a good decision, right.

Speaker 3 (01:20:00):
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:20:02):
Bathroom?

Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
No, you know what I did. A couple of times
I would go down to where the restaurant was and
use that bathroom. At least you could close yourself off
in there. That is weird, But you did? You did
you every single time? Did you ever get to the
sand or did you have to stay behind that cuts
you can get of course you can get on the
beach and so we come back. When you go on
this kind of vacation, there's always the do I do

(01:20:25):
an excursion or do I not not the greatest? Do
I just stay where I'm at? I would prefer to
do that. I'm really not a big fan of excursions.
I know I don't like all that, but but you know,
and so I said, let's minimize excursions. I don't like
to have a plan and some schedule every day.

Speaker 3 (01:20:42):
So late morning activity, late morning activity, and then you're
done with it today.

Speaker 1 (01:20:48):
But Sherry, she loves, loves, loves to get on the boat.
We're gonna get on the boat. We're going on. We're
gonna get on the boat and we're gonna do some
sort of boat thing. So she said, well, you know them.
I think it was Tuesday. She said, I've got us
a boat. I booked a boat. It's gonna take us
out romantic, romantic sunset cruise on a boat. Okay, hold

(01:21:12):
on to that. So we'll come back and I'll tell
you about my encounter with a man referred to as
Captain Jack.

Speaker 4 (01:21:23):
Captain Jack let me guess you had your hat on
during that DN or didn't the entire time, so.

Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
We'll be back.

Speaker 3 (01:21:34):
And then you were like, welcome to Jurassic Park.

Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
I spent no expense.

Speaker 6 (01:21:40):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:21:47):
For wonderful vacation. And so Sherry lets me know that,
you know, I can. I can't. I always start feeling
when excursion day is coming, because that means the wonderful
lifefe of getting up whenever you're ready, easing not looking
at the cloth, yeah, easing down to breakfast, strolling out
on the beach naked, yeah no, apparently no, no, no

(01:22:11):
beach walk showing my bum the people. No, I was
just getting ready for the for the for dinner. That
night we went out, there was sweating on the beach.
I took a shower and wearing a hat, walking hat
and shit hat. Only I don't think I'm overdoing the
hat and a little gold chain. Yeah yeah, so so so.

Speaker 2 (01:22:29):
I like the hat.

Speaker 1 (01:22:30):
I was wearing it. It was keeping the sun off
of me. I don't think I got too carried away.

Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
I think you, I think you might be. You sent
me this picture and you're you're wearing it while working out.
But I mean, that's just crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:22:40):
Well, what are you talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:22:45):
With it?

Speaker 9 (01:22:48):
Purchase?

Speaker 10 (01:22:49):
That is a large kettlebell you're swinging.

Speaker 1 (01:22:51):
Well, are you working out with the hat? Big Bama's
working out?

Speaker 8 (01:22:55):
Now?

Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
About that? By the way, they had a cold plunge?

Speaker 3 (01:22:58):
Nice, did you try?

Speaker 1 (01:23:01):
What are you doing in the fitness room? What are
you in the finish room? Anyway? Right, well, I was
there pumped that morning.

Speaker 2 (01:23:10):
No I didn't.

Speaker 1 (01:23:11):
I checking me out, nikeked I gotta look good. I
got to get pumped for a walk around. I went
in there and got I got. I took the cold plunge.
By the way, how once you get in, I bet
it's awesome, but that an initial getting in goods? It's cold?
How about this name?

Speaker 13 (01:23:26):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:23:27):
Oh yeah, if you don't want to get into it,
you know, long time but anyways, so so anyway, so
it's just the ladies. Is this a I is this real?

Speaker 3 (01:23:37):
No? That's me?

Speaker 1 (01:23:38):
You worked out with a straw hat?

Speaker 14 (01:23:40):
On?

Speaker 1 (01:23:40):
How are you working out? Because if pomp was on
the grounds, you got that on trick. Why are you
working out on vacation because I told you it was
just back then I didn't do much. Okay, that's good.
That's good. You have to pitch your baby right, putting
it down. So yeah, that was for Sean. That was

(01:24:02):
to Sean. I said it to Sean. Okay, we're doing,
We're doing. I didn't send the pictures of the eat
the bell toest for me tomorrow. Oh yeah, well he's
gonna kill me tomorrow. But anyway, so so I said,
all right, so baby, here we go, you know. And
then you got it. Now let me tell you where
we are. On this particular island. People ride golf carts. Okay,

(01:24:23):
everybody drives golf carts. They're golf carts everywhere, okay, And
so you you have to have a golf cart to
get anywhere because it's it's not big enough for like
an automobile or anything like that. So you're riding golf carts.
Small island. Yeah, and uh, and so a lot of people,
but you've got a lot of Americans, you know. And
and this, you know, these these islands still have a
British even though they don't the British don't have them anymore.

(01:24:46):
They still drive on the left side of the road.
Now that's a big adjustment. And and and I got
fired from driving and Sherry was driving. How about the
people you're out there, it's it's golf cart crazy. I mean,
people are whipping around, lot of people. At one time,
we got clipped by another golf cart. This person just
didn't I've never seen somebody be this transparent. Cherry was like,

(01:25:09):
you're on the wrong side of the road. You're supposed
to be on the left side. And she's hollering at her,
get over, get over. And also the woman just says,
I've had too much wine and just hit you. Well,
I mean, well she just right down the side and
and and you can't just say that, I mean, let
you get in that cart. But uh but anyway, but

(01:25:30):
we're okay, and so so we Sherry says, let's go
do some homework, which I'm for that. Let's find out
what doc we need to be at to be get
on the boat, so we're not frantically looking for it,
you know, the day all that, So the day before
we knew where we were going. So so we we
get there, and you know how it doesn't some things,

(01:25:53):
it takes time. Other times there's almost an instant concern. Yeah,
and uh but cause we i mean we never we've
never been here, you know, we we just you know,
Sherry booked it through whoever they you know, has suggested
and all this and so and I remembering a little
concerned by the name just a little bit. I will

(01:26:13):
give it because I don't want to close in trouble.
And so we come walking up and we're a little
bit early, and just just the first time that I
laid eyes on Captain Jack, I just kind of there
was a sense, I don't know, I had a little
bit of instinct not to get on his boat, you

(01:26:34):
know what I mean, you know. And and then I
saw the the the deckhand or the first mate or whatever,
and I noticed he doesn't have any shoes on, you know,
I don't know, I just kind of notice that a
lot of tats and and in the boat, right, And
it seems it seems to be some sort of father
son combination. And they said nice hot and I'm thinking,

(01:26:59):
you know, but who cares. We're on the boat. It's
just because the sunset crew, right, and you know, and
and uh and Sherry I wanted to She said, now
I've heard that there's I can go see sea turtles
and and and Captain Jack and me says, yeah, I'll

(01:27:19):
take you to sea turtles and and he's he's smoking
a bit of a change smoker, and there one day
and and so there was just a look the way
he said it. It was kind of like, uh, are
we going to be like doing something legit? I mean,
are you gonna? I mean it just you know. I

(01:27:41):
remember getting on the boat and kind of looking back
at the at the pier and I was like, Captain
Jack seems to be.

Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
The character.

Speaker 1 (01:27:54):
Okay. I realized pretty quick that he basically Sherry and
I have gotten on the boat with Quinn from Jaels. Okay, lady,
how about this tone death not a lot of social skills.
We'll say anything, slight bump. Yeah you that there were

(01:28:17):
times where I want to say, Captain Jack tam you didn't.
He didn't have to tell us there. Yeah, so yeah,
and we got it. So so where are you from?

Speaker 7 (01:28:29):
You know?

Speaker 1 (01:28:30):
And I'm like, we're from Alabama. We might be ken.
And I'm like, I'm sorry, okay, you have family. And
then you begin to tell us how we might be
ken and I'd rather not share it. Really, it was
really yeah. And I remember thinking, you've known us for
ten minutes and we're already some really personal stuff. I'm like,

(01:28:55):
it was, uh, now, let me tell you about my mother.
So he did what yeah? Yeah, and then and he
kind of told us about his mom and we're not siblings.
Everywhere Mom was around there. Mom was a bit of
a drag. And I was like, okay, hey, Quinn, we're
good son. And it's suddenly I'm looking. I'm like, your

(01:29:18):
son's here. You know, that does explain his odd look.
I'm just I'm just I don't know. I was just
jim gam No. Mom, you know, she was all over
din in Dixie.

Speaker 3 (01:29:38):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:29:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:29:39):
I was like, hey man, he is the Rick Burgess Show.

Speaker 1 (01:29:48):
All right. So we're on the boat.

Speaker 8 (01:29:50):
It is.

Speaker 1 (01:29:51):
Remember, the whole thing is the premise is a a romantic,
you know, sunset cruise. I'm with capt and Jack, who
I've realized is Quinn from Joss Uh. He's he's on
your on vacation on the Nile, and everybody rides golf cars.
There's no cars. No, it's I've got a straw hat

(01:30:11):
walking around naked. Well no, no, that's not true. Everywhere, beach, everywhere.
It was one incident. So you're in your own room.

Speaker 3 (01:30:20):
So so you're on naked island.

Speaker 1 (01:30:23):
I'm not. I'm not. You're like, no, no, it was
one incident. So yes, I think you loved it. So
I'm on the boat and I'm with I'm with Quinn
from Jaws. I remember when we were on the Indianapolis,
you know, and and and he's telling and you know,
he's already made Mother's Day for him awkward, And I

(01:30:44):
couldn't believe the thing about mom. But anyways, so I'm
looking at Sherry. She's looking at me, wanting at the end. Yeah,
and and then I can't share. I keep going, Babe,
we're on the boat. It's all right. You want to
be on a boat, right, Yeah, She's like sunset. So
then is it just the two of you? No other
couples for the couples? Okay, Now, keep in mind, does
he know that y'all want to be alone. That's the

(01:31:05):
reason you booked again, you don't want to talk to it.
Keep in mind that you would think that the captain
that one things he would do would be reassuring, which
is what I was true, That he would be reassuring
that we're going to have a nice evening. Oh yeah,
So Sherry had been told by some of the people
where we're staying that work there and Chare was very

(01:31:26):
comfortable in the water. The water was beautiful that because
of the barrier, that they really don't have a lot
of shark activity where we were, okay, And Share was
reassured about that she's gonna bring her shark bands and
all that. Sheerry very highly sensiti about sharks, so she's
prepared for Sherry's convinced that sharks are coming for us, okay,

(01:31:47):
and they're just waiting. They're just waiting and so and
it doesn't help because we do have a number of
things that happened. And but now she's gotten this confidence
that where we are that you shouldn't have to worry
about sharks. If you're gonna get in with sea turtles,
you got to get in the water, okay. And so
Capm Jackie, they can get us on some sea turtles

(01:32:09):
for sure.

Speaker 7 (01:32:09):
I can.

Speaker 13 (01:32:13):
Be looking when you get in the water, though, because
it's a shark, you don't see that kills.

Speaker 1 (01:32:17):
You say, Captain jack look, and that makes you want
to jump right in. I booked this and sure goes.

Speaker 7 (01:32:28):
Sarks.

Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
Is there sharks because there's sharks now?

Speaker 13 (01:32:33):
Pitture the cigarette every time. Let me tell you something,
little lady. If you take salt water, if the water
that you get the deals in your mouth when you
get in is salty, you gotta be concerned to be shucks.

(01:32:53):
I'm like, and it's the one you don't see that
kills you good now.

Speaker 1 (01:32:58):
I don't know that I want to get in there now.
And I'm like, baby, it's all right, there's no sharks
right here.

Speaker 13 (01:33:04):
Tell that to the one that the woman that got
bitten half a few weeks ago, right, say that we
pulled her up. It was nothing but the upper torso
better right and half tiger shark. We got him everywhere.

Speaker 1 (01:33:17):
And I'm like the sun and well, he's like, oh yeah,
I called some sharks, didn't my dad?

Speaker 6 (01:33:23):
Yeah yeah, And he's got to.

Speaker 1 (01:33:26):
He caught one just the other night. What are you
eleven foot swimming around? We went out.

Speaker 14 (01:33:32):
We went out because it was lobster season, went out
spearing lobster. At one point I thought I was going
to get back as the lobster, not my son. Tiger
shark had to hide it and easy to swim all
around him.

Speaker 1 (01:33:46):
And I'm looking in shirts like, I don't think I
want to do now, my baby there's it's all right,
like that sea turtles.

Speaker 13 (01:33:52):
And also, don't forget you get in there and the
sea turtles start coming at you, just push them off,
not to bank you.

Speaker 1 (01:33:58):
And I'm like the central mister happy, Oh the seat
turl is gonna bow. And that doesn't even talk to
me about the stingrays. Remember the only problem you got
with the stingrays if they get underneath you and from
there and and I'm I'm like, this is normally not
how excursions go. Usually where everybody's just saying, courage, it's
gonna be fine, everything's gonna helpful God, and he's he's

(01:34:22):
nothing but doom and gloom. You get in and so
uh so, now I know what's gonna happen. Now I
don't want to get in. Now I gotta get in. Yeah,
I'm not going. You gotta come with me. What are
you going? And then he looks over his boy jump
in there with him, take the squid with you, and
I'm like, I'm like, hey, push him away. F get
all right, we're thinking happen you get multiples And I'm like,

(01:34:44):
I'm so sorry, and and so U I said, it's
gonna be fine. Let's see a few turtles. We'll feed
them some squid. It'll be fine. And she said, he
there's string rays, here's stingrays. He should be fine. Just
don't step on And Cherse's looking at it. What if
I step on it? You don't want that.

Speaker 2 (01:35:01):
So that's what they had.

Speaker 1 (01:35:02):
And I'm like, Captain Jack, this is not This does
not sound fun. It's not good. I think we're paying you.
I don't think this is free. We didn't want to
go on the horror trip.

Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:35:13):
Good look bunk, you know. And so we get we
so we get in the water. Quinn's up there, you know,
I think he might be drunk and uh and so
so he's uh. We get in there and we're trying
to watch out and then he picked up Share and
I'm like, he's laughing moniocally he's talking from the boat,

(01:35:35):
from the bus. He'smoking, I'm not getting in there. It's
a shark you don't see to kill you, you know.
And this guy's problem in the share He's like, yeah,
but the water's shot. Tell that to the booshok, you know.
And so I'm like, this is not what is this is?
Do we get the horror stuction? And so we we
finally have it. Okay, turtles, well we did. We have

(01:35:58):
like the plastic rings off case. They look like that
they've kind of dialed into this. This is their thing.
I don't think they're trying anymore. Yea, they're just waiting
on the boats now. So anyway, so we do that
and we're going. So then we say so he says, well,
I made it very clear. You know, we're talking to
the person. Who did you talk to well, you know,

(01:36:19):
oh yeah, okay, that you could take us to a
private beach. You know, I wanted this to be something
romantic for my husband and me with him. Hey don't worry, Rick,
I'll said you have you And I'm like, I don't
do that. She's not she's not like your mom. And
so so anyway, according to you, right, according to you.

(01:36:41):
And so anyway, so we we we we we start
coming up to this place. It's a little tiny beach
and they really are. The first thing I noticed is
all the trash. It's like somebody dump trash on it.
And I think, well, he's not gonna he's just gonna
go somewhere else. Here we are, I'm like, Jack, there's

(01:37:02):
there's trash here. Uh, let's like somebody camped here. No,
you hate that, all right, get off the boat.

Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
And I'm like, this is not real.

Speaker 1 (01:37:10):
But there's there's literally a cooler hanging in a tree.
What I think I see a tent. There's there's a
smoldering fire. I see smoke hit out and get out
dumps the water in the fire for him, and I'm like,
but now, we don't want to be at somebody's campsite.
And the look at it like trash. Yeah, I see it. Yeah,
you gotta hate that. Get off the boat. And we're

(01:37:31):
here and I'm like, hey, man, I don't know. This
doesn't feel very you know. And then all of a
sudden there's another boat. And we were told later once
we asked other people, that there's multiple places they can
take you. Yeah. Well I see this other boat and
I'm like, hey, some people are here. Yeah, maybe they'll
move on. Shay, be careful with the stingray. He's trying

(01:37:53):
to get to the shore. So Sherry starts swimming. He
scared her so bad, and all of a sudden I
look and swim underneath her is the stingray. What I'm like, baby, baby,
don't put your feet down. What what And she's just swimming,
I said, I hated.

Speaker 3 (01:38:08):
He ain't a sting round here.

Speaker 1 (01:38:10):
Oh my god, I'm like, hen Jack, please, she said,
oh my gosh. And I finally grab her in my
arms and lift her up and just kind of show
away the stingray and walk her to the shore. I
was close here he had Jack, dude, I was like
Captain Jack. And she said, she's like, I'm scared of
these people. I said, I am too. I think I

(01:38:31):
am too. So all of a sudden, talking about inappropriate,
we're here trashes all over the beach. They're just a pilotrash.
It's like a dump. We've been dropped on. And then
all of a sudden, I look and Jack and his
son start hitting on women from the other boat. What
they get in the water where you're from? Like, I'm like,
I said, And she goes, is he talking to these girls?

(01:38:52):
I said, I think they are. I look over that thing. Hey,
wait where you guys hit it? There?

Speaker 3 (01:38:56):
You have?

Speaker 1 (01:38:57):
Yeah? Oh okay, yeah, let me tell you about my
mom starts with her. And now I look over and
the captain and his son are like hitting on two
women from another boat, and and of course they're half drunk,
so they're just standing there talking to them. Yeah, good
to see you. Yeah, yeah, you know Captain Jack and
all this, and sure, he goes, is could this be
any less romantic? But then you know what I say?

(01:39:20):
But you know what I say, this is gonna be
great for the show. Oh yeah, I mean this is
the craziest. That is insane. Yeah. And then then he
would do things like let me take you to the sandbar.
It's too rough, let's keep moving. And then they brought
us back. They brought us back to the pier and
I look up and I'm like, the sun's really still up. Yeah,

(01:39:41):
I guess we got back before it really set. It's
been a blast things for being with us. Sure's like,
you're supposed to supposed to see the sunset. It's three
hours times up the sun. The sun's not setting.

Speaker 6 (01:39:52):
He went there, he's the weak Burgess show, are you?

Speaker 3 (01:40:02):
So?

Speaker 1 (01:40:03):
Usually we're tipped at least over with that.

Speaker 4 (01:40:05):
I'm like, okay, sorry, Well, seeing that it was a
sunset cruise and you brought me back before the sunset,
and I don't know what you were expecting.

Speaker 1 (01:40:13):
And the private beach was.

Well he trusts.

Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
ME i don't. Know testing you out all, Right i'm
just going To i'm gonna handle this with kid. GLOVES
i see. There it's not. Funny there's two people's lives
who've been. Lost, okay what did you? Say i'm doing
what they, love all. Right, apparently and this is a,

(01:48:51):
WARNING i think to. Everybody apparently there was a. Party
apparently a man and a, woman uh decided to leave
with each other from the. Party forty two year old,
male twenty six year old. Female this story is being

(01:49:12):
covered in different, places the one we have here From people.
Magazine sometimes when people ARE i feel Like i'm talking
to children who you have to not, you you. Guys
i'm just talking about the you, know trying to handle
it in a, way you, know in case there's, yeah
so you're talking to the. Adult school's back. In So
i'm thinking most are in, school but you never podcast

(01:49:33):
and homeschooling and all. That if you're an adult right
now and you're doing the podcast archive and you got
kids in the car where, coding it could be some
questions followed up, here just f y, yeah, okay well,
yeah so sometimes.

Speaker 2 (01:49:49):
So THAT i don't.

Speaker 1 (01:49:50):
Know sometimes it was a. Party sometimes there's a. Party
and sometimes when a man and a woman are at a,
party they might leave the party together in search of
a scene. Overlook, okay oh, yeah we've all seen. That,
okay pretty, yeah go see the skyline and maybe go
up there and spend some time together looking at the scenic,

(01:50:11):
overlook and maybe who, knows you, know things might become
more and. More i'm not sure i'd use the word
romantic here since you're in an automobile at a. Cliff
but you, know it's not exactly the, gift right and
the party and all that well apparently sadly for these two.

(01:50:34):
People but a lesson and a warning is that the real,
plan that's the real? Cliff, well that's a long a,
warning a. Warning you, Know god has a plan and
you know it does not indicate here that this is
a husband and a wife, okay in the, story it

he could have coded. That now we, said we're talking about.
Adults that's, Fine, mommy. Daddy what's that, Right, well that's
that's parenting. Now but apparently things escalated to the point.

Speaker 1 (01:52:06):
That the vehicle. Moved oh, wow uh And i'll leave that.
There back back to picking that twenty six year old
that's looking. Back she regrets that slip out of. Gear,
YEAH i was gonna.

Speaker 4 (01:52:17):
Say, now the mom and dads haven't explained automatic And
i've heard of a durned parking.

Speaker 1 (01:52:22):
Break. Yeah apparently not greg, break, well not getting, away
but still, well the process of what was going on
in the worth, It the process of what was going
on in the vehicle moved the vehicle enough that it
fell off the cliff and killed both of. Them oh
what a fall, hmmm so not, rick not a good, scene.

Speaker 3 (01:52:47):
Not a good spell over a thousand feet farm.

Speaker 1 (01:52:50):

believe any foul play took place or anything. Violent you
had to find foul, well thank, you, said they found
the bodies They greg what. Happened So i'll tell you what.
Happened and you may wonder how they know this was the.

no but you KNOW i had to been right there
on the.

Speaker 10 (01:54:15):
EDGE i wonder how long they tell? Anything well to
react the.

Speaker 1 (01:54:27):
You, know at that point once the car starts, careening
what do you?

survived you get hung in a tree and then to
rescue you because if you if you, yes now we're
straight up. Movie if you it's not if you could
have made it to the water cooler with that. One,
yeah and everybody said that was the. WEEKEND i don't

(01:54:57):
even believe what hap to me and, say, Look i'm
not trying to, brak but not cars cliff haven't done, that,
right but they're. Dead so uh so that's that's something
we need to remember real. Quick, yeah when we're doing
all these anty comment it's it's easy TO i, mean
get it. Neutral by the, way there's a lot of.

(01:55:18):
Warning there's a lot of warnings. Here. Women, women when
you're a little, older stay with men your own. Age
probably not as dangerous on. Cliffs, okay they just forgot
to put it.

Speaker 4 (01:55:28):
More, NO i was thinking it was a stick, shift you,
know because you can knock it at it sounds. Like
but but the car must have been, running not, off
and then it just Got.

Speaker 1 (01:55:38):
It doesn't say that, here but it says. That it
literally says in the story THAT.

Speaker 10 (01:55:46):
I found it movement from inside.

Speaker 1 (01:55:49):
There that's What i'm saying that MAYBE i wasn't hitting something.
HERE i wasn't going to say that something hit the gear.
Shift by the, way this is also a heads up
to be sure you're parking break is. Serviced, yeah, yeah
because a lot of them go. Bad they, do they.
Do Greg well, Said but here's What i'm.

Speaker 4 (01:56:07):
Wondering is it that they got close to the edge
of the cliff or or did we roll for a
while and then and then they.

Speaker 1 (01:56:16):
Were trying to get a good. View so this is
another safety. Tip the view is not that. Important don't
don't put the car so close to the. Edge older,
women don't date men this. Young don't don't make sure
your parking break is. Secure, okay, uh do not think

(01:56:38):
the view is so important that you're going to be
that close to the. Cliff there's all kinds of things
to learn, here all kinds of things to. Learn. Now
the number one, is you know but this could happen
to people who are. Married, yeah you know that you
have a. Babysitter can't go back? Home you know, YOU
i mean you don't want to go back home, yet,
right you know WHAT i?

Speaker 10 (01:56:57):
Mean and Or eason before, dinner.

Speaker 1 (01:57:01):
Well you know probably usually well maybe you know some
what you rather hear see? HIM i did you rather
go off the cliff like them or fall off the
car while celebrating a? Win victory and break your collar
bone and get.

Speaker 10 (01:57:15):
Knocked, well they didn't, live SO i gotta go With

Speaker 1 (01:57:33):
Good the wife happily. Married, yeah under the authority of
the lord who sees all this is a, blessing not
a bad way to go versus the collar bone and
the victory.
