No kbo is djaying for me.

Oh hi, Kybob, Well, what are you doing? Get in here?
Speaker 2 (00:14):
I'm not going to dance alone.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Here.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
My name is Curly and I'm Maya.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
And Welcome to the Super Secret Presti Club podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
A super secret club where we talk about super secret things.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yeah, like secrets that are super That's what it is.
In each episode we'll talk about love, friendship, heartbreaks, men,
and of course our favorite secrets.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Get in here, Welcome to the last episode of season three.
We're wrapping it up with the with the Perfect Little
Bow and and how are you?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
My spirit is good. I'm kind of it's kind of
bittersweet because I love during the show so much. It's
like one of my favorite things that we get to do,
like talk and just kind of ourselves and yeah, and
you know, but it's been like a journey, you know,
and we do have a little bit of exciting news.
(01:20):
But for right now, it's been quite the journey and
it's been so much fun. What about you, hazard spirit?
I feel good.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
I am excited about this episode. We're going to be
reflecting on this past season. Some of our some behind
the scenes moments, reflecting on some of the guests, our
top favorite moments, and I'm excited to get into it.
Most importantly, this season, we got a video aspect of
the podcast, which has been something we have been fighting for,
(01:50):
and I say fighting for since we've gotten the podcast. Yeah,
we've had it here and there, but you know, it's
we're so grateful that we've gotten the support for it.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yeah. Yeah, I think it's really interesting because early days
and we tried doing video ourselves, Like remember our phones,
Like my phone would glitch. It would like try to
record for like an hour and then it just would
I couldn't get the footage onto your computer, and so
I was like, okay, yeah, we'll save the footage until
we can, and then cut to season three and it
was a video of season one. Like it just there's
(02:23):
always like something, and like, I feel like video has
been the most exciting because it's introducing a lot of
new people to the podcast, which is really amazing. But
I think that's even just yeah, like even just like
how we got here though, like I remember, I think
I was still working at BuzzFeed, so when we started
and I would kind of have to like, you know,
sneak off and record during work hours. And you know,
(02:47):
even now I like sneak off and record, but you know,
I think it's really interesting.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
It feels daty. Remember I used to.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
There's certain caffee shop that we don't go to anymorenings
just like get coffee and then I would bring you
a coffee, bring me a coffee, And I still have
my coffee here while I'm like, yes, it's.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
I'm very very happy for the video portion that we
get to film at Iheart's one of Iheart's little podcast
studios with a crew, which is super exciting. It's it's
so much fun to go in every so often, and
we only go into that studio for when we have
guests and stuff, which has been so much that we
(03:31):
had a lot of guests on the podcast. Yeah, before
we get into that, you wrote behind the scenes how
we come up with ideas.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Oh yeah, I mean just a little bit. So people know,
like these are real conversations that like Maya and I
have all the time, Like we're real life best friends.
Like we get along all the time, we don't get along,
sometimes we cry, we laugh, we have like this is
a real friendship and real emotions and like, so when
we come up with these ideas of what we want
to talk about, they're really rooted in like what we're
(04:02):
actually going through in real time on any given day. Right,
So if we're like I wish this ex would do this,
like oh, we mean it, you know, we mean it.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
And it's we're like, we should talk about that on
the podcast.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yeah, or it's like not necessarily rooted in something that's
like trendy. Sometimes it is, but like a lot of
times it's like, you know, when when we were on
the phone and we discovered that I had never seen
any of the Disney movies, like the high School Musical
Disney movies, and it was like what, like, oh, we're
going to watch it and we're going to talk about
it and we're going to do all those things. So
like you know, and then we basically pick the topic
(04:39):
are We kind of go back and forth a lot
of times too, because I usually want to go into
like I think a podcasts like I need help in life,
like I wake up, like I have anxiety, Like I
take I'm newly medicated medication. Oh I got my pills again,
by the way, so I'm back on my medication, well putrin. Anyways, yeah,
(05:01):
back on. And so what we do is we create
these outlines and we write what we're going to talk about,
and then you know, we mix in our own stories
and some facts, and that's how you kind of get
the episode.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yes, And it's all rooted in making sure that the
person listening or people listening stays informed. And I feel
like you do that really well with wanting to add
in facts from the internet from different bringing in different
you know, self help people or psychologists or brain neuro
(05:35):
What was Amina we had Amina on what was her
official title?
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Neuroscience Scientists Expert, neural neuro expert, which I think helps
so much.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
And I think that's been like such a great aspect
of the podcast.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
And Yeah, you cried.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I cried? When don't I cried? When don't I cried?
Don't I remember like we worked with somebody and she
was like, why is my cry so much?
Speaker 1 (06:04):
I'm like, you remember, I don't remember.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
We were doing a yoga video, like why is my crying?
Why does she always cry so much? Don't? I don't
give a fuck. I think the thing is about crying
is I think we both are emotional people and we
(06:33):
can access our emotions like that, and when something makes
us emotional or something makes us want to cry, it
comes from different places of either sadness or happiness or grateful.
It's like it's like a way where our body gets
so overwhelmed with whatever emotions and that's how it comes out,
you know. But I really like, yeah, we come up
(06:57):
with like the outlines, and I feel like haphazard ways,
because there's been times when we're like, well, we we
have yapped for an hour and the last ten minutes
are like, oh shit, like let's do the podcast.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
It gets kind of danger for us because we actually
are meant to work and we just yap.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
And it's fine because we started we started working together
first before we became like, you know, close, So that's
kind of like the the vibe is is work besties.
We're like real life work besties turned into besties, you know.
So we want anyone who's listening to to relate and
to feel seen and heard and entertained and giggled. So
(07:36):
hopefully we made you do that this this season and
past seasons before, and hopefully we will get to continue
that later on. But let's get into some of the
some of the guests we've had on and we have
some like little tidbits, little notes that have happened behind
the scenes.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Yeah, I mean I said, for all of them, I think,
you know, what are the what are the amazing people
that came to us first? And she's just amazing. It's
like Cheeky's right, Like it's crazy when people talk to
me about Cheeky's. Literally I cannot tell you how many
different rooms I've been in where people would bring up
Cheeky's and we all say the same thing. We're all like,
oh my god, she's so nice.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
She's so nice, right, she's so kind.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Literally, like, you know, I think that I really she's
always been really cool with us. But I really felt
like she showed us her true colors, her true colors
when we did the live show at our Heart stage
and she was very like, I want to see you guys.
I'm gonna say to see you or so I forgot
what she said, but she was like, give me your
give me your number, or give me your phot whatever
(08:38):
she wanted. She was very supportive and she tagged us,
she tagged us, and she shared.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Shared us and you know in that episode where she
came on on set with us. She was chill. She
was so cool, and you know was was she felt
comfortable to open up to us a little bit. And
she had just gotten married at that point too, and
so like like she had this like fresh post wedding glow.
(09:03):
I feel sneeze coming on.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
The music to the music. Oh do you know what
I tell people all the time by oh uh oh
are you okay? Yeah, I'm an ugly sneezer. I am
an ugly sneezer. I don't know how people can just
or even people who go like like when I tell
(09:28):
you at spit, I'm a spitter and I'm a snottertimes like,
what do you mean like sometimes spit or sometimes not?
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Sometimes spit always.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Not, I'm a snotter? Do you snot a lot? A lot?
Sorry to put you on the robot Do you robots not?
Do you? Yeah? Do you snot? Or do you just
like spit when you sneeze?
Speaker 2 (09:59):
She's yeah, Cheeky's super nice, super kind. And I loved
the episode we got to do because it also gave
me a little like street cred to my family because
I was like, my nanny was like, you should ask
her about this, ask her about that, and I was like,
I'm not gonna ask her these, like she's most of
(10:21):
questions nanny.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
But then when the episode came out, yes, yeah. And
then when the episode came out, I like made her
watch it on the big screen and go see that's
me and that's Cheeky's right.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
There were studying it for the TV.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
You like it, do it? And my the favorite grandchild
out of all seven of them, six seven.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
It's so funny. Yeah, I know. I think whatever I do, like,
never impress my parents to be honest. They're forever like, yeah, whatever,
who cares, We'll be impressed when you come back with
a wife and two kids.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
Right after all this time. Another guess we had on
was Aila Rodriguez, who we were actually do We just
went on her podcast that's out right now. It's called
Say What You Mean Podcast and you can find it anywhere,
but the episodes are on YouTube as well. That one
was really fun, super professional. I was like, oh my god.
(11:12):
We have always said we've always rocked with her since
day one. She is the people's queen, princess, she's our president,
she is everything. But you geeked out hard and the
most in the best way. Like, I think that's as
a as an author and as a as a comedian,
(11:33):
as an entrepreneur as she is, I think that moment
was really special to see, Like, you know, people freak
out about their piece of work.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
Yeah, Like I literally should has a book. It's called.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Illegitimate Kid.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
It's called legitimate Kid.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Legitimate Kid.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Yeah, And so she had given it to me a
while ago, and I just wasn't a reader. And I've
started as recently becoming more and more of a reader.
So I started. I read her book. I finished it
in like three four days, and it's a thicker book
and it's so good, and I just had so many questions,
like I wanted to know about like her words, not mine.
The crackhead in the neighborhood that would steal clothes to
(12:16):
get Ida better clothes, Like she would said that like
she was a tall, skinny girl, so like none of
her clothes really fit her the way they were supposed to.
So this woman would basically steal clothes from the stores
to give to Aida. And she would kind of be like,
tell your mom to stop buying you pants that are
too short for you, you know, And so just in
a lot of ways. I just was kept kind of
tip over the interview because I was just like, tell
(12:38):
me more, and what about this, and what about this
and then this, and at one point I was like,
I saw your ADHD pop out on this page, you know,
like because she like kind of changes topics a lot.
But that was a really fun interview for me too.
I would say that another one that really stood out
for me was when your friend Garrett came to the office.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
My friend Garrett, Yes, our friend now your ex lover, oh,
our ex lover.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
We both dated him.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
I feel like he's like, yeah, I guess I didn't
mean it that way, like your friend and like, yeh friend.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Yes, yeah. Garrett and I met through Vine a couple
of years ago. Garret Watts. Garret Watts, we met through
Vine and have just stayed friends ever since. And you know,
I've invited him to some of my birthday parties where
he's met some of my friends. He met Curly and
we had him on the podcast and he's he's super
(13:37):
I feel like I saw a new side to him
because I know, you know, and it was kind of
like whoa, Like he's a he's a little firecracker, like
he just like of the episode was so funny, like
it took me back a little bit. Took me back
because I was like, oh my gosh, like I've not
seen this kind of like he was still himself, but
he was like a little work Garrett where he was
(14:00):
like kind of like dishing it out, but also like
I'm like I can notice, you can notice, like the
curated response where I'm like, I'm gonna check about that
later now. Because we've all been talking about dating and stuff. Now,
(14:28):
he's become kind of like a little dating coach for
me where he's like he's like, I don't know. I'll
like send him something and then he'll be like, this
is exactly what you should send back, and I'm like, yeah,
because you're a white man, you're a white man who's
six three and beautiful man, you can get away with that.
I'm like, I'm like I could probably get away with him,
(14:48):
but I'm like, I'm not doing that.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
I just saw him on my Tinder and he seems
very sweet on Tinder. There's no sign of being.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Like he is a little fucking That little fucking means
I love him so much. I would say I've told
him this before I'm just like, I.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Think that's his way of swerving people. I think that's
his way of not telling people like interested, because like
he's like, no, I'm just not a good boyfriend. But
I'm like, you know that, why are you on ten day?
You know what I mean? Or like, what are you say?
Speaker 2 (15:23):
It's the love it. I'm like, you want to be
you want to be princess girl?
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Come on, you know. I honestly thought that maybe, like
there was a little when I first met him, When
I first saw him again at your birthday party two
years ago, I was like, yeah, I feel there's a
little something. But then somebody, one of your other friends
swooped in.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
And then at my last birthday party, it was like
another present.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
At your last birthday party, I thought we had a
little something too. This is my friend and another person
swooped in. But I'm very much I'm old school in
the way that I'm like, I don't chase over anybody.
If you I'll say what's up, I'll flirt with you,
I'll let you know that I'm interested. But if you're
not interested in you chase me, or you don't gout
everywhay to come get me, Like I'm okay, I'm good.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Actually, he has showed me some some messages and some
instances where he gets shut down, like politefully or like
I've seen I've seen him get politefully, I've seen him
get shut down. So we can take I love.
Speaker 1 (16:18):
You, Garrett, we all get shut down.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Yes, we had impress On in the same day impress of.
I really liked that episode because I feel like we
haven't really like we got to sit down and talk
to her like that in a long time, and I'm
not really as close with her as as you are,
so it was like great to like catch up and
(16:42):
like hear her music process. I love her music so much,
and I love hearing musicians that I really like, like
how they got into music and that wasn't really good.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
And also if you're listening to this and you didn't
hear if you miss these episodes, like we're just giving
you little tidbits for you to go back and listen
to them, because these are some good ones.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah, it was cool that Laurally like really opened up
our impress of an impress of Honduran Central American producer,
singer songwriter like she literally produces her own music like
you know, it's pretty crazy to just watch her grow.
I knew her when she was barely like I think
I'm gonna start dancing in my axe, and she took
her first dance class, and now she dances in her acts.
(17:21):
She's like all over the stage, like you know. I uh.
The other day I went to her house and I
had a headache, and she gave me a mask, and
she bought me boba like.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
A like a face mask.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Yeah, like a face mask. So yeah, she gonna be
a face mask. And and then I was like, I
gotta go loyally this head again going away, So I
slipped the last of my boba and made my way
off her sofa into my car. She's super amazing, Like
go check her out. She's so much fun. One of
like my family like members, I would say. Also was
on the show which was mesh Prada and Mesh Prada,
(17:54):
Like you know, she's been on the show before. Oh
that scared of me. She's been on the show before.
I thought I called somebody by accident, but they were
calling me. But we actually lost her footage. So what's
interesting is that she's been on the on the show before.
Talking about the loss of her mother, and then this
episode we covered grief and really going really deep on
how we're dealing with the death of somebody and our family,
(18:17):
and in that episode we lost it.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
So we had and it had just happened. It had
just happened, right, mm hmm, Yeah, it got lost, and
we were also in transition of it, I think producers
and engineers at the time. So but I think it
was meant for her to come back because we got
her on video at our studios, which at the studio
(18:40):
there was another it must have been retrograde or something,
but like we forgot to like our our production coordinator
forgot to book like the video crew, so we had
to like quickly like use like somebody's like camera link thing,
which ended up working no matter what it which was great.
But I remember being like, she is an actor in celebrity.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Have you heard a river table exactly?
Speaker 2 (19:05):
You heard the Dunwick series, Like.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Come on, I know, we literally like that day were
like fuck, what are we But it's hard because sometimes
when you're really tight with somebody, you forget to roll
out the red carpet in that way. But like, yeah,
that really did happen, and then.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
We had a feedal like BuzzFeed throwback with Claudia, Jenny,
and Gattiel on the podcast three separate times.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
We talked about Yes and Jenny Lorenzo.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
We talked about Claudia's film and how she got to
act and do a little producing in it, which that
film got got into did you get to south By Southwest?
It got into like a bunch of these festivals and
that festival run lasted like a long time, which was amazing,
(19:59):
and and we just kind of reflected on, you know,
how we all became friends at Fedle like, same thing
with Guttiel. I think that was a really special one.
If you want the BuzzFeed tea, we go in deep
with all these three people, but especially with Jenny. I
felt really I'm glad that she got to tell her
(20:20):
story of of like her history with BuzzFeed and bettle Like,
which wasn't so it wasn't a great time, but I
feel like we gave her her flowers and got everybody
to really be on board with the fact that she
was one of the main people to start bettle Like
and push the needle on Latine and latinx Latino comedic
(20:44):
sketches and skits and everything and just content in general,
you know, same thing with Gadiel, Like that episode was.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Oh. I think the episode with Jenny was really interesting
because people kind of got the lore. People kind of
get like the behind the scenes of what was really
going down. I think they don't know kind of like
the beef that we had not only with like not beef,
but like friendly competition that we had with other Latino
Digital teams, but also just like the inner turmoil that
(21:15):
we were all dealing with. Like I remember, you know,
with like Methu at the time, like I was like,
there's a whole company dedicated to Latino content. They have
more resources, and they would look at us and be
like they're a Latino team with BuzzFeed behind them, they
have more resources. And we were like, yes, there's five
of us, there's six of us.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
We do not have the it's not like that, yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
You know. But we also had some guests that kind
of brought on a little bit of like mental health stuff, right.
We had like Melissa Stars for astrology. That was really fun.
I love when Melissa comes to talk about astrology because
she's so like her. She has a really sweet voice
that makes you like want to listen. She feels like
those girls that like like will clock she know, she
sounds like to me, she sounds like and I mean
(21:56):
this in a nice way when you call like the doctor,
or you call like your dead and you're scared of
the doctor or the dentist. But the latina that picks
up the phone and she's like, oh, hi, Maya, Hi,
don't worry, like anesthesia. He's going to give you anesthesia.
And the shot that he gives you doesn't her like.
She kind of has like the voice that you hear
(22:17):
that you look for towards comfortfort.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yes, and she explains things with such clarity that doesn't
make things super complicated, because astrology can be very complex,
and I would consider her as like an astrology mentor
for me, like I always hit her up whenever, you know,
for regular things, but also when stuff is going on
(22:40):
where I'm like, am I trippet? Like is this going
on right now? Or what's happening? She's taken a step
back from doing personal readings right now and to focus
on her family and there's just like a lot going on,
but she has a lot of great content on her Instagram.
Melissa Stars Astrology. We also had my mom on the
podcast recently we talked about mother wounds and you know,
(23:04):
how to heal from mother wounds when you don't have
a great relationship with your mom, like you like you
would want one, or it looks a little bit different
than everybody else's. And then how she was able to
transform and transmute that energy into breaking the cycle. You know,
So that was a really important episode. Yeah, and then
(23:25):
we had your friend Amina.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Amazing, Yes, yes, talking about neuroplasticity. That one was really
cool because she works with like a little bit of
a controversial drug, but ketamine and ketamine is like, I
think it's amazing because it builds new routes, aroutes roads
in your brain that allow you to access certain thoughts
that you might not have thought about before. And she
(23:48):
kind of comes in and she's like, how do you
It's kind of the way that I see it is
like she talks about you go through therapy and then
you take a little bit of this ketamine thing and
you're kind of like, les prescribed, that's prescribed. Yes, oh yeah,
it's definitely prescribed. And because you disassociate because you're suddenly
not looking at yourself with all the problems. You can
(24:09):
kind of take a step back and be like, oh,
they're just problems. Are not happening at me or to me,
They're just happening around me. And then you kind of
like all the lessons that you take with you, you
kind of that you learn while you're on it. There's
a trash truck here in case you hear that. Welcome
to La guys. So yeah, I mean it takes up
(24:31):
the mental trash out of your brain in a lot
of ways. So I had a really good time. The
next one too, that we had was like Shanti Chante.
Oh my god, I used to call it. She co
hosted with me Chantal Houston, also from Ladylike BuzzFeed. She's
so funny money honeys. She told me the funny story.
She told me that she went to Trader Joe's. That
(24:53):
Trader Joe's. What's the Trader Joe's, I think a Trader
Joe And she bent over. It's like truly like the
lowest shelf she showed me. It was like an inch
off of the ground, like this much of shelf. And
she was like, oh, looking at like a jar of
like jelly, And she accidentally just shropped it like that
one inch and it completely shattered. She was like it
(25:16):
was so not far off of the ground that like
the jelly was still in place and the glass was
just everywhere. And so she was looking around for somebody
to help her, and this girl like came up to
help her and was like, oh my god, like don't
worry like d D. And then as she's cleaning up
the glass, she's like, hey, aren't you from Buzzby No,
(25:39):
because she's.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Like on on Buzzby read on the Stark page, being
like I just sat Houston kill Jelly.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
She was just like I, And I told her like, oh,
completely on brand, completely on brand, like oh every chanty.
And I always say this thing when we go Everything's
a thing, Everything's a thing, you know. But what would
you say, were like some of your favorite episodes that
you would like look back on and tell our listeners today,
like go back and listen to these.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
I really like when I made you watch High School
Musical and camp rock because that is not only best
delore that I feel like you should know more about
me and know why my brain is wired the way
it is wired, but also for pop culture to get
you a little cultured. You know, there's a lot of
Disney Channel original movies at least in that era, like
(26:34):
they our world would be nothing without high School Musical.
They would be nothing without camp Rock. It's set the
standard for just singing and dancing at schools and at camps.
I feel like, yeah, that was very information informative to
the community, and you're welcome community for giving you that
(26:58):
piece of art about you.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
I would say that all my favorite episodes are I'm
literally anytime we do like relationship stuff is probably me
pitching because I feel, like.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
You said before, it's in life informs.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Yeah, we do, absolutely. I mean I really love any
of our episodes, Like if you go back and like
listen to our like you know, anything where we talk
about our exes or we give terrible advice. I think
there's one episode that's called like we give Terrible dating Advice.
I love when we're like petty. I love when we're
kind of like really open about being like, yes, I'm
so happy that you're in love, but also little like
(27:34):
you know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
I love what the ones that word just like really dumb,
And that's literally how we'll describe like what kind of
episode we want to make it like we just want
something dumb, just.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Like super silly.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
That's like no brainer, that's just like very like yeah
that we can like make each other giggle and hopefully
you guys giggle as well.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
We all want to see our exes suffer. We all
want to see you know, our best friends win. We
all want to get and we all want.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Money, money, money. Speaking of money, speaking of what are
our hopes, I feel like potentially we get another season.
We have no word right now yet if we're going
to get a season four, So we're.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
Just we want to bring I think, you know, my
hope is to continue. I'd love to just build a
(28:47):
world where we bring on more experts and we're talking,
we're asking questions like you know, I want to hear
more about like I think that you know, as we
things will always change, like what do we see as toxicity?
What do we see as toxic? You know? What are
some things that are we going to see? Things? Like?
You know, I always said, I like a guy coming
up to me and grab me by the wrist and
giving me a kiss, you like, take charge, you know,
(29:10):
like and but there's a thing where we're like no,
like ask for permission right, like ask for consent. It's
different for women, by the way, It's not I'm talking
as a gay man, right, but like, are we going
to see things shift? Where I've seen a lot of
women being like, don't fucking ask me nn app And
it's like, well, where do we leave men? Like what's
the right way? Like what are certain things that we
(29:32):
find out will be problematic today but not tomorrow or
not problematic today, we're problematic tomorrow. And I really hope that,
like people will I hope that people always have a
good time when they listen to us. I hope that
they're like, I just want to go a little numb
in the brain and not talk about anything too serious
and just like have a little giggle. This shows like
(29:52):
a cartoon, and I wanted to feel like a cartoon.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
You know. Yes, I would love I mean, we have
a comedic back bone with this podcast already, but I
would love to amp up the comedy a little bit
more and have more comedians on where maybe we can
like do a little improv section, or maybe do an
episode that is entirely like scripted out where it's like
(30:19):
a little audio a radio show episode where it's like
an episode of something you know, or like more comedy
and more more. Yeah, I think intentional comedy because we're
I think we're funny. I think we're great at improv,
and it were great naturally, but I'm like, I would
love to see us flex that muscle a little bit more.
(30:40):
Just yawning Yonning right into the podcast hearing me.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
On I am not good at improv. You know what
I was thinking. What I'm good at is, which I
was trying to relate to improv, is I'm really good at,
like say a word, like give me any object.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Pickle.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
I really love pickles. They're amazing. I like when they're sour.
I like when they're sweet. My mouth is watering. I
once got really sick and sort of a friend of
mine eating a pickle at Disneyland those because I guess
they're like really popular. They're those giant pickles. So I
haven't had one since, but then I know that, like
people really like them, like they're even like the fruit
roll at pickles for a second or so, like I
(31:18):
can rip off of anything.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
That you that's improv.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
But if you tell me we're in a pickle.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Like a bit oh a bit, like okay, we're in
a store. You had just dropped the pickle and the
pickle juices everywhere you What.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Did you just do? Oh shoo, these pickles.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Those were my grandmother's pickles. She's been pickling those since
nineteen seventy three.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
See, i'd be like, wow, is she hot? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
That's for you to find out, Grandma.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
It's really funny. I don't.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
I don't, like, I would just love more bits, like please,
let's just do more bits, just like.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
This is coming out on Selena's birthday, which, by the way,
I think I'm still her favorite.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Think whatever you want and we am. I told her
your reality.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Really, I literally like get kind of upset when I
think about Selena. Sometimes I get like I was talking
about and I get really emotional about it. We talked
about this. I think about now that I'm older than
Selena was when she passed, I feel this, this is
the difference, and like, oh, she's a baby, and now
I feel protective of her. Before I used to look
(32:44):
up to her, before I used to emulate her. Before
she was somebody that I wanted to be like a
role model. Now she's that, But she's somebody that I
want to protect She's somebody that I really am, Like
she feels like a baby to me, and I get
very upset when people are like, you know, you see
a lot of haters being like Selena, Oh my god,
it's only like get over Selena, Like there's more artists.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
Let her, let her rest, her rest.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Yeah, And I'm like, no, what do you mean, Like,
do you realize how do you realize? Even like I
have so many realizations bestlin all the time, but do
you realize how hard it is? Imagine now, if we
had somebody who dressed really cool, dance danced really cool
like her, and could sang like that's actually sing she
(33:29):
could no monitor yes, Like there's no. And the thing
is that you can hear her singing, you can hear
her like dancing, and you can hear their vocal range,
and like, part of what I think is really cool
about her vocals when I listen to it is like
she just has so much range. I think you told
me when you sang when her songs for the Selena.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
My Baby is one of the hardest songs.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
The same you were like, you don't realize how hard
she goes between the different songs, I mean, the different
notes until you have to sing a song and you're.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Like, because it's her, it's her. There's nobody like her.
There's nobody who There's this girl on TikTok who has
the same kind of like vocal makeup as her. But
like as far as stamina, Selena had something that Beyonce has,
Michael Jackson had, you know, like all of these the greats,
(34:25):
the greatest of the greats where you're like, whoa an,
you know what it is? They study their craft, They
really study and they work really hard. And you can
tell that she has really worked on She had worked
on what was working for her voice, what she wanted
to achieve. She had studied Michael Jackson, she had loved
Beyonce like she had very strong, She studied the greats,
(34:49):
and she really practiced and worked on that. And I
feel like nowadays, not to sound like trash girl Kim Kardashian,
but like, I feel like nobody wants to work these
days in terms of nobody wants to be in class.
And it's not that it's not about affordability anymore, because
(35:10):
you can go on YouTube for free to find these things.
You can on TikTok. There's tutorials, Like if you are
an artist who wants to study their shit, be in
class whatever it is, you know, or like.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Also like with Selena, like I just think that for me,
Like there's not a lot of artists today that are singing.
There's a lot of.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
R oh yeah, it's the bedroom pop like whisper singing.
It's own genre.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
But like it's fine, but I'm like, give me the vocals.
I think that's why we love Beyonce so much. Right,
Like even when I watched Beyonce shows and you watch
Lady Gaga shows, you're kind of like they're giving us
the vocals. I mean, Lady Gaga kind of dances and.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Traditional, but they both come from traditional backgrounds of whether
it was church choir or Broadway or musical theater, whatever
it was exactly, and they training their training.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
So you know, sorry, we have to you know, we
have welcome to the astrology portion of the podcast.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
So by now it is April sixteenth, we're out of
Venus retrograde, we're out of Mercury retrograde. And it's every
season it's at its peak. Right now, we're almost a
tourist season. But we don't have to think about that.
Yet most importantly, when we are recording this, it's on
March twentieth. It is spring equinox. And if you heard
(36:37):
the last episode, I listen, this is the real new Year.
This is the real astrological new year. So if you
felt like you didn't get it together in the first
couple of months, now it's the time to manifest right now.
Currently where we're at, it's still mercury retrograde, so if
there's anything, I don't think there's anything that's going to
(36:58):
be retrograding then. But I think April's astrology is way
better than March's astrology because we had so many things happening.
I just had somebody come over who was like, oh
my god, we just have so many things happening in astrology.
I'm like, I know, girl. Like it's like the weather
where I'm like, oh my god, it rained yesterday and
then oh my god, and then the sun was out
and then it was one hundred degrees. That's how astrology
(37:20):
weather has been in March, where it's just been all
these extremes. So really take a hold of the spring
equinox and put your whole bittice in it. But as
far as astrology, How are you feeling curly, how have
you been feeling this past this? How are you feeling currently?
And we're in the thick of it right now.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
I get affected every other retrograde, So I'm on break
right now. I'm actually like chill in. I don't know
what it is, but like I'll have retrogrades that I'm like, oh,
this is retrograde and I'm so like blah blah, and
then other ones I'll be like, nope, I'm fine, like
totally unscathed. But I don't know if that's like norm
that's just like all people. But I also like sometimes
(38:03):
I just am like I as you know, I love
zodiac and I love astrology, but I get a little
like it becomes a little too like heavy for me
and my anxiety when I think about all this other stuff,
because I'm like, I just were the next check coming
from Lloyd.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
To life at some point, you know, like astrology is
only meant for tools and to help you learn more
about yourself versus predictions. So like, you know, if stuff
is going on within the planets, like I think mercury retrograde,
for sure, you should not like sign any contracts, but
(38:45):
if you have to then that's just what it is. Yeah,
you know, I abide by that because shit has been
crazy during retrogrades. But I agree. I think there's a
level of anxiety that it can give you because it's like,
oh God, all these things are happening and so complex.
But I think the real flex is being able to
flow and navigate through with just existing and so just
(39:07):
using astrology as a tool. You know, it's a toolkit. Yea, yeah, yeah, yes,
And that concludes the astrology portion of the podcast.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
