that Jersey Yeah, during that time, it was Jake Kidd
all day. JA kid came mart you know, carry Kittles
type of vibe.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
So socks up baby, yeah, sir.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
So at that point, it was like I couldn't I
wasn't the best player on the team.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
I was more so just a leader, you know I was.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
I wasn't o D nice, but I had like four
nice niggas around me, so I made sure they got
the ball. But in terms of like hooping, yeah, Ja

Me, Bro, Yeah, it was tough. So that's who you
might was your game after Yeah?

had no JA.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
I was there, that was me, you know what I mean.
But now he's one of the greatest of all time,
one of the greats all time.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
So that was tough man. That's crazy Jersey times.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
The next squad when they moved to Brooklyn, it was like,
I can't really be a NETS fan for real because
I'm not from Brooklyn, you know. But so at that
point it was more so just like who do I like?
What player do I rock with?

Speaker 2 (09:16):
You know what I mean? But what years you come
out high school?

Speaker 3 (09:20):

Speaker 2 (10:00):

it's not true the lake. You know.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Listen, bro, this is a basketball part. We really we clown,
but we are tapped in, especially in our era growing up.
Like Greg, we're giving him ship. He was the best
to everything for real. No, we remember when it's Bro
forty two.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
It was good. Yeah that was yeah was up there,
that's bro. It was tough.

Speaker 5 (10:36):
Bro, it was tough, like it was you had to
even have heart or actually scale me. I was a
heart nigga. I was all heart, you know.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
But yeah, so you know, yeah, yeah it was tough.
That's what's up all right?

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Man? So how did you end up in Northwestern? Yeah?
I was what that's random as hell? Was shot this shot.
He was always supposed to be a shot.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
I see the player.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
So my mom, so I'm Nigerian, right, so everything is
education at first, you know. So my mom My mom
was like, yeah, this is a school called Northwestern that
wants to just you know. I went there for voice performance.
So auditioned and I got in. But it was early decision.
So once I got in, I couldn't go anywhere else.
So when I got in, it was just like, Okay,

(11:21):
this is exactly where I needed to be. But it
was cold, bro, it was a cold, big tank all
like oldie white people. It was a culture shop, you
know what I mean. But it was exactly where I
need to be because you know, I'm very big on
my spirituality. So God was like, you need to go there,
because after that it was boss and all these things.

(11:43):
But at first it was like, why am I going there?
I wanted to go to Princeton genuinely. Yeah, my SAT
scores and shit was cool, but I love Princeton because
there was a lot of pretty girls like Princeton, you know.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
And at that point, it was just like, let's just
make it. Let's make it make sense. So Northwestern was
the wave. Okay, Yeah, did.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
You ever tap into the Chicago while you was at Northwestern?

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Though city you want to eat out Block?

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Laugh? I don't even know if Block was Old Block
when I was there, Bah, it was, but it wasn't
how it was like.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
But when y'all was like being here, like, how many
times did y'all spend in Chicago?

Speaker 2 (12:28):
A lot? Bro? Everybody jerk was in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
They had a damn what's the food?

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yeah, legendary summertimes Chicago is the best ever, but that's
a fact.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
Food and fashion in Chicago. Yes, but Northwest changed my life. Bro.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
It made me understand like like what it meant to
be a man.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
I went there seventeen.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
I skipped the grade, so I was early there class
had you had to bro. It was just one of
those things where it's like you got to figure out
who you are now in this world.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
You know what I mean? What's that mean? I don't
know what I mean? I know you're watching this. Did
you see the first I wouldn't Yeah, I wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Mean that means mind you, bro, this know he don't
know sign language at all.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
So that's a bunch of random ship just regard to go.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
Yeah, but no, she got a shout out the shot
town man shout shot.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Love me say all right here, let's get some drinks
going to here man bory b. She had worked today
on the weekend. God, it's good.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
Lord, you gotta you gotta tell me, bro, oh.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Dag Mike said you're gonna be off the tour before today. Damn,
I'm just thanking so much.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
You asked me how I was doing. Yeah, yeah, all
right what we got today? Appreciate you?

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Classic?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Hey, yo, Classic Rod is crazy. Philly Purple could be pinky.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Yes, they been thrown agree on the court.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
We gotta guess. So I don't know, y'all. I don't know,
y'all was potting that? No, listen. Also, just coup.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
It's crazy about the triple cups.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
I'm classic right now, O g Lil Wayne, but now
be here used to have a cup when we was
at the crib. He'said, like eight cups. Respect like the
headphones plugged.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Yeah, just star phone.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
I just keep making drinks, not just you know what
I mean? Putting cups on topic?

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Man, that's wow.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
So what did you get into first acting or the music? Now?

Speaker 5 (14:43):
It's definitely music. I've been singing since I was three
four years old. Oh like, I was a Nigerian wedding
singer at four years old.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Bro, you like me for sure?

Speaker 1 (14:53):
You like that.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
But I was nice broering wedding.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
They throw money. I'll be seeing that. My mom was
a hustler, so she was like, yo, you could sing,
all right? Cool?

Speaker 5 (15:02):
I sing for the bride and then it was just
throw bread everywhere. Connecticut Philly. So I was like, Okay,
if I could do this for the rest of my life, Bro,
this what I'm supposed to do.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
But boys on tour before he was in kindergarten. This
yeah my first manager, Bro.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
You know, so music, but then acting came about when
I was broke, Like I was broke, bro like after
leaving Northwestern. All my friends was like, I'm doing investment,
banking and all this other stuff. And for me it
was like, I just love the craft. And so it's
a long story. I try to make sure, but you
talk a little bit when I So when I graduated,

(15:39):
had no money. I lived in High Park and so
my manager at the time, he was like, yo, bro,
you're natural in front of the camera. Why don't you
just try to act? You know, why don't you get
in front of you know, why don't you go to
the city and.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Just see what it is.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
This is before social media was social media, so you
have to actually go and hand your resume in front
of all these booking agents and everything.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (16:03):
So no one took me, bro. Everyone was like, I
don't know, you have never seen you. But the coolest
thing about it was the last place I went to
was a boutique agency and her son went to Northwestern,
so she was like, let me just make sure like
alumni is okay. She's like, I don't know if you
could act, but I'll take you in because you need something.

(16:24):
There was a Monday on Wednesday, she was like, you
know what, hmm, there's an audition for a TV show
called Boss.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Learn the lines.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
You're not gonna get the role because it's already taken,
so just get used to auditioning. So when I went
in that same day, Kelsey Grammar was basically saying thank
you for all the casting that they were doing. So
she was like, yo, you know what, Kelsey, just watch
this kid. He's here bro. He said, yo go. I

(16:56):
said all right, cool, my dug Like literally, he was like,
try it this way, try it, try it this way,
try this way. I did the audition eight or nine times,
not knowing. He was like, you know what, it's get special.
I got the I got the job three four days later.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Damn. So they fired old boy. You weren't supposed to
even get it.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
I was supposed to get it for your first acting
Like premiere was in front of Kelsey girl.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Like that's a lot of personal exactly.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
I didn't even really care who he was. I was
on some music shock, you know. I don't know if
you remember when you had the rubber bands, like the website.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
I was passing road Tommy Music.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Dot Com to everybody.

Speaker 7 (17:34):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
Literally, I didn't care about none of that. I was
on some other you know. So like for me, it
was let me get my music out there. And then
three four days later they called me. You got the job,
so they fired old boy. So then they give me
one hundred and fifty thousand.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Oh then you turns up.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
I was scared, bro. I didn't even know what I
got the job for.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
So my first acting job was on set, and my
first acting class.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Was on set. Oh ship yeah, bro.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
So Kelsey was like, yo, camera left is this camera?
This is where you stand. These little things are called side.
So like my whole experience was like in the moment, go.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
But you've learned it from one of the best producers
come on, man, and one of lead actor. So it's like,
I guess your learning curve or whatever you want to
like this, it's fire, but it's fired. You got somebody
that's like him teaching you and telling you how to
go and what it should look like exactly. I mean, bro,
it's like it's like learning from Lebron.

Speaker 5 (18:38):
Basically, it's like it's like a nigga shooting in the gym,
like genuinely and like just killing everybody. And he's like, Yo,
how long you've been playing basketball? This is my first day?
And like all right, well just just come come try
out for the Lakers and you make the team. And
it's like it's like one of those situations that's it's
just God ordained.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Bro, because you know he made girlfriends right, Yeah, yeah,
I was just making sure everybody like you.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
That's was like for that to be like your first
running and I thought you was gonna say some other
ship like that is kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
It was meant to be.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Yeah, it was meant to fact.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
It was one of those things where it's like you
just trust the process, bro. And then the funny thing too,
while I was filming Boss, Courtney Camp the Creative Power,
she was watching Boss, so she was like, who is
that kid? So while she was creating it, it became.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
A situation where it was like it's meant to be.
It was meant to be.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
It was always cool, bro, nigga went from zero to
one hundred and fifty thousand. Yeah, but what did you
hold on?

Speaker 8 (19:46):
So?

Speaker 3 (19:47):
I was terrified, Bro, you get money? No, don't listen
at her.

Speaker 2 (19:55):
I don't even know what this means.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
I don't mean.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
If it makes the show, I don't know what it means.
What are you asking?

Speaker 9 (20:05):
Just get it?

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (20:08):
We went.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Okay, this is rosy, make sure that going on. I
didn't know what really ship. He was like, Bro talking show, Bro.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
Just have fun.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
I just want to know, Like, because like obviously coming
from like nothing or something, I've been in that position.
What did you do when you got that one fifty?
Like was it like, yeah, I'm about to find me
a nice place with you?

Speaker 2 (20:40):
Like you didn't want to find myself?

Speaker 6 (20:42):
Nah?

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Yeah moment. Uh.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
The first thing I did, Bro was save one hundred
and twenty of it.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Wow, you better than me? Yeah, I say one.

Speaker 5 (20:54):
Hundred twenty and got like a real cheap apartment in
High Park for the first year.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
So like I didn't spend any of my boss money,
and I didn't spend any of my power money throughout
the whole time I was working.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Wow. Yeah, yeah, er.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Bro, niggas don't listen, okay, let me ask you. I'm not.
My Pops was like, listen, bro the cool thing.

Speaker 5 (21:19):
Sorry to cut you, but like my Pops is like,
if you really like that, if you're star Bro, save
this and live off of twenty thirty thousand, then figure
it out. And I'm competitive. So it was like what
I do it, And that's what I did for the
last for ten years, bron my whole, my whole power
check boss check that turned it into real estate, damn

(21:44):
none of it. Yeah, I lived off of hosting and
endorsements and you know what I mean, shout out to
AMP as well, you know, so like yeah, just shows
and things like that.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
That's very impressive.

Speaker 10 (21:54):
Thank you, Because what did you do with your first why?

Speaker 1 (22:07):
You know that if I didn't get that second check,
so you gotta think when you first you know, obviously
taxes hit you. So fact it wasn't crazy. I signed.
I think my first check was my first year was
one point three tough, so you cut it in a half,

(22:28):
taking home a couple of seven hundred, eight hundred thousand
whatever it is by crib Why rented a crib on
first year? Smart wasn't too bad, So I think I say,
maybe like four or five hundred thousand a year.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
But my mom, she ain't working no more. My mom
was early like now birth that you're not doing.

Speaker 1 (22:49):
My dad wasn't like that, but my mom and they
wouldn't like expended. My mom wasn't expensive. She's like old
ye or nothing. So it was easy. But after my
fourth year, I had like one point five save tough
and a lot of people are out of the league
after the fourth year, you know what I mean. But
I was blessed enough, lucky enough that I ended up
getting another contract. But if I would have just played
that four years, I've been cooked.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Cooked.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Yeah, I've been cooked. So that's why I'm blessed. And
I'm so thankful for how long as I played and
I got a chance to play.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
But what did you do with the first after that
second check?

Speaker 8 (23:22):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (23:23):
When I got to the second deal, yes please, Oh
come on, man, I went and bought a crib. I
went million on the wagon, million crib tough g wagon.
My clothes was different. So what did you start getting
like comfortable in the industry? Though comfortable in the industry,

(23:44):
like where do.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
You feel like, Okay, give me a you feel like
you made it hmmm, or you still feel like you
know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
You're trying to get to that point.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Like I know, I know me, Bro, I ain't making yet, Bro,
Like genuinely you know what I mean, Like I've done
fly things. Is a part of my journey, but I
haven't made it yet to my standard.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
I know who I am.

Speaker 5 (24:10):
I know I'm one of the most gifted niggas ever, Bro,
and I have to live that. So it's coming, It's happening.
You know what I'm saying is in the process, So
give me, give me a year and a half and
then then I you know what I mean, But like
I'm getting there.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
One of my favorite questions I was to ask artists
what's more fun creating art or sharing it or performing it?
Asked specifically with the music. Mm hmm, I've seen some

Speaker 1 (27:13):

like that.

Speaker 3 (27:23):

Speaker 3 (27:59):
See your house today. Let's go see your house? And
she played this said She's.

Speaker 2 (28:04):
Like, oh, you're about to really are you about to interview?
I was like, yeah, relaxed, she said, she put it on.
I said, no, that's that song. I said, we're jumping
all over the really interview. I just had some shots.

(28:24):
You know, we're jumping all over.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Bro, Like, how did that song like come about it?
Did you it's two part? Did you know that was
going to be the one that that's a great question, bro.

Speaker 5 (28:40):
All right, So when you're a part of a show
like Power, it could easily just be you are dre forever.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Right.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
So I had just signed my deal with Empire and
they were like, bro, you have five days to make
a hit record.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Yeah. I have five days. Bro, you have five days. Bro.

Speaker 5 (28:59):
They're like, yeah, five days because you gotta get back
to filming because stars just tripping that you're leaving. I said, okay,
so my man hit me man, yeah, h money Harmony
Samuel shout out to Harmony Samuels.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
He hit me.

Speaker 5 (29:12):
He was like, yo, I have this idea, and I
got this Lauren Hill Foojie sample. I was like, cool, cool, cool.
He was like, it goes like this. There's a meeting
in my bed and that's all he said. He was like, yo,
I promise you just fly out to la tomorrow. Bro,
we'll finish it. I was like, damn, and probably just

(29:33):
told me I got five days. He just gave me
a cool idea, let's just go. I went out there, bro,
and just finished the record, and it changed my life.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Bro.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
It was one of those things where you just had
to trust your instinct because anybody else would have hurt
over the phone. I got this idea, you're not gonna move,
You're not gonna change your reality. Even though I knew
I had pressure on me. That wasn't enough to make
things move, but it was, you know what, I trusted,

(30:04):
pulled up, finished the song in forty five minutes. Bro, Damn,
forty five minutes, Damn and I remember making it like
Instagram was like this twenty nineteen so Instagram. I remember like, Yo,
I just had I just made a record.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
That's crazy. It's gonna change the world.

Speaker 5 (30:19):
I remember saying that, and two weeks later it just so.
Then I hit walle so I'm Nigerian while Nigerian shout
out the DJ Money Forever, Thank you DJ Money. DJ
Money was my dog. I was like, yo, Bro, you
think while they would get on this man, because it's
like it's lyrical. Girls gonna like this. I think it's
gonna go And he was like, let me, let me

(30:40):
play for let me play for bro. Bro heard it
and just went nuts. Shot three days later back so
it didn't even matter if I had the whole album ready.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
We had the one for sure, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (30:54):
And before that, we had a record called Love forr
Them that kind of just started to start.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
That's the one I was talking about. I didn't mean
to say yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:03):
Because that's that's my guy. But Love Rhythm, that's my ship, Bro,
That's what I really know you for. Oh that's love
for real. That's what I really know you.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Thank you.

Speaker 5 (31:12):
So we had that one, but I was one of
the first people in America kind of just take the
flag of Afro Beats because I remember going to radio
stations and radio stations like I.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Can't hey, man, I can't. I can't get the what
is this? Man? I can't get the beef? I mean
like it's like I don't know. I know very well
what ye.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
That rhythm that's why we that's why I created.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
That's a classic bar you just put cause be here.
Do play the drugs? I do?

Speaker 3 (31:46):
Yeah, I'm a drummer for real, bro, Bro, Like I
really like even when we first started like this, I
used to play field for the meato like all the time.
I just love how that ship. Like, I don't know,
the vibration of that music, bro, make it crazy. Probably Bro,
you're not my mama. Hear a little nappy, Bro, I
might be bro like I am.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
Yeah, yeah for sure. My great dad, I'm bus.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Like we did that my cousin the ancient history and
we literally got the same. My mama her dad is
brother and sisters, and then my dad her mama brothers,
and so I know what be the same?

Speaker 3 (32:32):
Ain't and she fifty eight percent. I'm really my dream.
I ain't been overseas, no where yet, bro, my first time.
I really want to make it like, bro, come.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
On, pull up.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
I'm so all right. Let's do this now right like
for real? When I have a show Indiana. Yeah, you
got to play the drums, gonna suck it up. I
really like that.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I'm looking.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
I'm telling you something.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
You really played the drawing, played dr Let's do it, okay,
I don't try to people with a good time. I'll
tell you, yo, I can't wait, Yo, watch you have
moments on this podcast. I can't wait. I listen linking biof.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
That what.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Yo? Real?

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Let's do a show. Yeah we got Let's do a
live show. Let's do that.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
Let's do a live show in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
You heard it here first.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
Just come out on my night since we're doing live
show on Houston. Talked before be here his hometown special
guests out. I'll be there, Yes, sir, are you sorry?

Speaker 2 (33:55):
I'll be there.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Yeah, we got here, Will Will willfre I wanted to
be for real. You think I'm gonna I'm.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
Gonna be off this.

Speaker 3 (34:07):
Crazy bro, Bro, I'm dead serious.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Bro, the lot it got it. I take nervous off this.
I have to be sober. I want to be pissy
drunk at my show.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
If you really pull up, I promise making this professionals, Mike,
come on, it's gonna be the best show ever on Bro.
If you ain't got sorry for you?

Speaker 6 (34:36):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (34:37):
This this is my God?

Speaker 4 (34:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Is so good?

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Do you think I'm joking?

Speaker 9 (34:43):
Bro?

Speaker 2 (34:43):
I'm dead serious? Bro sober?

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Fourth?

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Back in October fourth we locked in and loaded? Where
we at?

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (34:53):
The House of Blues?

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Oh, House of Blues? Come on Blues man.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
This episode, Kobe, obviously the acting side is crazy. You
in two prominent black shows. Man, First, we gotta start
with power right, everybody watch Power House all show? Hey man,
what's that feeling like to be a part of a

(35:25):
show that everybody looks forward to? It's like I'm one
of the people. Summertime, I'm skipping the club midnight? Come
on twelve and one Star slowed up the drink.

Speaker 2 (35:30):
I need to see it. What's it like being a
part of a cult following?

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Bro?

Speaker 5 (35:34):
You don't even know you, Like, you don't even really
know you a part of something so special because you're
just working. You know what I'm saying, Like you hear
the noise, but it's like I gotta deliver it. I
knew that every time I stepped on set it was
gonna be special. But at the same time, it was like, damn, like,

(35:55):
I can't mess up, bro, I gotta I gotta drive,
I gotta drive it.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
I gotta be this.

Speaker 5 (35:59):
So I again, I'm an athlete mentality at heart. So
whether it was Amari, whether it was Joe Shikora who
played Tommy, whether it was Michael Rainey who played Tariq,
I was trying to dominate every scene. So I was
trying to make sure that you remembered Dre, you know
what I mean. And everybody had the same mindset. So

(36:21):
that's what made us great, you know what I mean.
I think you said something a couple of months ago.
You're like, yo, you're.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Competing against your team, you know what I mean. That's
really what it is, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (36:32):
So like it felt that way everybody because we didn't
so basically we didn't start.

Speaker 3 (36:38):
No one was.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
Stars, bro, no one was flying, no one was the
guy I can stand next to Drake Chris Brown this
and be just as relevant, you know. And the battle
in the battle was all right, don't get big headed, bro,
Like you know, you got to be on set tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Just keep killing.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
You know.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
I've seen a lot of actors be like damn, I
finally made it, I'm here and just fall off.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
For me, it was like all this motivation, you know,
I gotta keep killing, you know what I mean? And
so does that come from your parents though?

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (37:13):
People you grounded like your pops and ship. Yeah, it
came from just being just being again like.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, but at the same time innately like I'm a
savage bro.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
Yeah, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (37:24):
So like for me, mentally, I just want to just
dominate everything. You know, certain people have that type of mindset,
you know, some people just naturally gifted.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I happened to be not.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
I didn't take an acting class a music class in
my life, so I never experience what it is to
be taught this.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
I just know that I just want to just dominate.
So that's why I trust my intuition.

Speaker 5 (37:47):
So any actors out there, any musicians out there, just
trust your intuition, trust your instincts, and in trusting God man,
Like that's what gided me.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
Those three things got in me, you know, to where
I'm at now.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
A lot of God giving ability. That's a fact, Like
one of them ones for real? No classes class okay,
so for you never took class? Like what is I
hope I answered the question? Yeah, okay before be here
go crazy. I know about this to ask something funny.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
I want to ask you, like, what is it like
to like because you could have been a hated character
on the show why people love you and people hate you?

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Like? What's that like for people so invested in the
show and they come up to you and like you
got me?

Speaker 8 (38:31):
Like you like.

Speaker 3 (38:35):
To jump because you don't answer the question. I'm just
giving you all quick story. Yeah, Chris Weekend, I swear
to God, this is me shovey k why ise if
my boy, if you'll watch this, young dog will still
God bless the underless.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
I've seen Tyreek get pressed a little Weekend. Bro, this
is no. This is like a few years ago shoving
them have me out for.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
I was like, Bro, this is because I watch y'all,
but I'm not really they really the TV is I'm
not really, But I was like, people don't understand that
this is just a character.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Like people was really walking up to him cussing him out, Bro,
Like that is really crazy, like outside of your road
that makes you doing your jump like this is fake.

Speaker 5 (39:27):
But you gotta understand, bro, Like we're in people's living
room every Friday or Saturday or Sunday for years.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
People we have parties here about the parapart we were.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
We were, we were everybody's escaped from life the fact,
you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
So like you you escape to.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
This world and you feel like you're a family member,
you know, And I have to realize. I'm like, damn,
like we really are affecting people. The illest thing that
Tyres told me and Jamie told me Shout out to
both of them. Shout out to Jamie Fox and Tyres.
The illest thing they told me, bro, was they all
knew that music is my heart. So they were like, yo,

(40:07):
just kill this and make them want to research who's
killing this. You know what I'm saying, understood, And so
before that, I was like, man, why they.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
Keep calling me Dre?

Speaker 5 (40:20):
Hate that that's not my name. Girls coming up you cute,
but I can't stand your ass. I'm like that shit real, Bro,
I'm like, damn, like you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (40:32):
And then I had to realize, like.

Speaker 5 (40:35):
One is a compliment, two it's also it's also a
testament to how you're affecting people, but keep killing it
to be like, yo, who is actually playing Drake and
they just start doing this, Oh his name is wrote Timmy.

Speaker 3 (40:50):
Oh wow.

Speaker 5 (40:51):
Then they start following everything else. So that was the
ills like advice that I've ever received. Man Like, just
killed to the point where they have to know who
you are.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
And that's what changed the game, because I was like, this, nigga,
y'all a hell of an address for people to repressing y'all.
Oh yeah, oh, y'all are doing what the y'all posted.

Speaker 2 (41:12):
Some time I'm over to watch. He was hold me, bro, bro,
why are you gonna get gas the city? I was
pissed up, explained Station on the Run from the explain Bro.

(41:34):
I used to read it and be like, damn. I
was like, Courtney, I gotta do this like this nigga's
gonna hate me, you know what I mean? But it
was it was a part of it, man.

Speaker 5 (41:48):
It affected people, man like, it made people feel something,
you know, and so I thank God for that.

Speaker 1 (41:54):
Listen now You're Another one of my favorite songs is
Shy you go love this. My bir grew up in
the church, always had the power rankings of the of
the freaky people of the church. Normally we give you know,
I'm saying that the love to the dickens. Normally they
didn't ask nigga to church boy and playing chart.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
The associate pastor. Oh, he's a dancing Hey.

Speaker 7 (42:14):
I bring the girls to their knees to pray, to pray,
to pray, to pray, to pray the God to pay
the gun boy went. He said, you need to predic prayers.

(42:41):
That's crazy. No, you're making your ship off, man. That's
one of my favorite songs. People they know went crazy.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
My boy was pulling up. It was every single mother,
no niggas.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
He found everybody church to come.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
It's different, broo.

Speaker 1 (43:04):
Yeah, I want to ask, obviously you've been a part
of starting franchise. What's it like to go into a
franchise I already had some momentum and then kick it
to the next level because obviously it's going to a
different direction.

Speaker 2 (43:13):
Everybody's growing with the show. What's it like joining something
already at the status Again, it's like being.

Speaker 3 (43:19):
A free agent, Brokay, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (43:21):
Again, like everything correlates to sports to me in my mind, bro,
It's like it's a new team. They're already winning their
hit show. So it's like going to play with your
kitchen the niggas bro.

Speaker 2 (43:33):
You know what I'm saying. It's like, how do I
fit in?

Speaker 5 (43:36):
I'm a You've seen what I've done on another team,
so it's trying to figure out where do I play?

Speaker 1 (43:44):
What?

Speaker 2 (43:45):
Like how do you how?

Speaker 5 (43:46):
How did you fit into a situation knowing that you nice?
But they already got a movement going.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
Oh, it's different for me. They had enough money. I
fit any.

Speaker 11 (43:59):
You won't be playing a bit you got no money.
I be on the bench, right, Yeah, you want.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Me to you want me to shoot?

Speaker 5 (44:11):
Shoot what you And honestly like to that extent, it's
like do you want me to shoot? Do you want
me to play? Just play defense?

Speaker 3 (44:20):
Do you want me to just be a That's what
it was, and like people don't understand, Like with the shot,
I was only.

Speaker 2 (44:26):
Supposed to do two episodes. Damn. I was literally only
supposed to be there for two episodes. And I knew.
I was like, man, like, look I got it. It's
basically a ten day contract. Like what do I do?

Speaker 5 (44:37):
You know, I know what I've done, but in this industry,
what you do doesn't what you've done doesn't really matter, bro,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
He wanted to pull it closer for he did want
to do more side exactly, he was wold. He staid
with the whole time.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
He was my fault.

Speaker 5 (44:59):
So so for me, it was like being on the
Shower was a ten day contract because I had two
episodes only damn. Shout out to lean Away. She was like, Yo,
I have an idea for you. I think you playing
a pastor will be really dynamic.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
Like what do you think?

Speaker 5 (45:14):
I said, yeah, hell, that's dope. It's like I got
two episodes and when I did it, I was like, man,
I got to ball out, Bro, I gotta do everything.
I gotta I gotta chair when people on set. I
gotta make sure everything. I was like, this is an
opportunity because most people, most actors, don't get an opportunity
to be on two hit shows ever in their life.

Speaker 2 (45:33):
That's a fact, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (45:34):
So I was like, okay, Wow, you know this is
a moment and I just killed bro, like just stepped
into a realm of like I have to be here.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Man, how the hell do you prepare to be a
pastor Pastor Charles what because this is yeah, look bro,
and this we just get our sh off on her.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
But I'm saying though, like yeah, you so talented, bro,
Like how do you like tap into that mode? Like
d the talking about you pulled up to Bigga's houses,
No be him to tell you seasons.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
It's so crazy. Listen, his head pastor had left his
main wife for his piece. It did her for a
white woman. That's a bunch of.

Speaker 9 (46:13):
Shout to Rover Johnson.

Speaker 8 (46:15):
Got and.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
No really no bro, you know got he's about Pastor
Derby kid shout the past, the coming.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
Legend.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
God hit the camera over the funny past. You don't
know that. I don't watch TV. That's but the lordship.

Speaker 3 (46:49):
That's funny.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Boy.

Speaker 8 (46:51):
You passed Johnson, not the john I figured about the
story now, an't thinking about no no, no, no no.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
Never.

Speaker 12 (47:06):
What's the silence, my nigga, tell me what's the no
no no no passon? Jeffrey would never never a different jobs. No,
that's a common name. The talking about Jacob.

Speaker 2 (47:23):
Wal the city up, Jacob, jac You're about to end JA.
Were about the fight.

Speaker 6 (47:32):
God Jesus and about the pocket Nigga Johnson, Jeffrey that
my guys.

Speaker 9 (47:45):
Bro' Oh my god, turn the big the city.

Speaker 4 (47:53):
We are about to be fighting. Nigga the soups fun
with me here you nigga's gotta be sweat. Oh my god,
sister fun, Damn god. I was talking about mom.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know that thirty
members the fun.

Speaker 3 (48:16):
I was about to ask, right, his church only got
thirty members.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
We're talking about Barbie. Can I get some some ship?

Speaker 1 (48:25):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (48:26):
Let me get whatever?

Speaker 2 (48:27):
Jeff drinking? Bro?

Speaker 3 (48:29):
What's this word?

Speaker 2 (48:32):
Yeah? Let me get some of that. Marbe she's still here.
Oh man, I don't even know what's going on. Perfect tell.

Speaker 3 (48:42):
You sure you want to drink? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (48:44):
May I guess I freak. Thank you mail? Oh man,
the fucking party, I said, be hear some holy water.

Speaker 3 (48:55):
That's the fact.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
My mama say that every day I see her. She said, Hey,
the way y'all be talking, be hear in the holy water.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
I love, I love mama, te face. Can I ask
you a question for sure?

Speaker 3 (49:04):
For sure?

Speaker 2 (49:05):
Were you ever jealous of your brother success as he
was coming up? My little brother?

Speaker 1 (49:10):
Yeah? Nah, I sed to a champion that like I
wanted him to be way better than me. Like I'm
like I knew I was successful at basketball, and I'm like,
my little brother is better than me, like our family is.

Speaker 2 (49:25):
We go thank you.

Speaker 1 (49:29):
I want you to outdo everything I did. Like ever,
so in high school, I was hard on him. So
when he was a young guy and he was ranked
number one to two in the country or whatever, I
would be like, man, you ain't you ain't ship. You're weak, bro,
I'm tired of you. I'm like that's light though, Like
you ain't gonna make it to the league. And then

(49:50):
we make to the league. I was the same type
of thing. But I'm still proud of them to this day.
Like I'm so happy for him he made to the NBA.
He had you know, he living a cool ass, like tough.
I was always happy for him because I wasn't ranked. Really,
I was like I was unknown for like my whole
because I was like bloomer. I was a street I

(50:13):
was a street basketball player.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
Everybody everybody knew. Oh yeah, everybody knew was cold. They
knew me.

Speaker 1 (50:19):
But like I hung out with my crowd my friends
was different, like g o here, Big fifty. They had
a team, they knew fifty team. They wouldn't going to
the same parties I.

Speaker 2 (50:32):
Was going to. Yeah, I was, yeah, And if you
see me now, I.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
Still go to different parties and everybody, but I was
going to the algorithms.

Speaker 2 (50:42):
My rhythm was different. I like that algorithm by the way, yes, sir,
but I was. I was with my guy. Some of
my friends went to prison, and it's not a bad thing,
but my friends.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
I was thinking of basketball the way they like, he's
been NBA since we thought No.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
I wasn't thinking like that.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
So when my little brother was in the same position
kind of like Greg he was one two in the nation,
I was like, oh, we're.

Speaker 3 (51:07):
Not letting you not make it to the NBA. That's tough.

Speaker 1 (51:10):
So I was always happy for him. I don't have
a hate bone in my body like Bro. I can't
because I want everybody to win.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
That's rare. That's rare, Bro.

Speaker 3 (51:20):
Why not though? Most niggas hate Bro?

Speaker 2 (51:23):
But is that heavy? Is that heavy?

Speaker 3 (51:26):
Let's just make it simple. Is it heavy in your industry? Absolutely?

Speaker 2 (51:30):
Why I hate though?

Speaker 5 (51:31):
Because niggas is insecurity, ego, pride, jealousy, trauma.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
But what that's going to do for them? Like, if
you winning. What's that going to do for me to
hate on you? I'll really be with the winners. I
always want to be with the winners.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
It's that logical. But most people look at it like
a crap.

Speaker 5 (51:53):
I only are people look at it like that, Bro,
Like we only people that be like, man, that nigga
is sixty years old and he looked end. But the
other side will be like, look at Garth Brooks, he's
sixty and he's just amazing.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
Our whole mindset is just hate hate, hate, hate hate.

Speaker 3 (52:09):
I ain't got that. I don't champion nothing, Bro Barrow.

Speaker 5 (52:14):
It's survival, you know what I mean? Like I got everything,
it's it's survival.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
You know what I mean, almost got that.

Speaker 5 (52:21):
Like ninety percent of our people, bro, are just angry
at their life. They're not happy with themselves. They need validation.
It's a lot of things that like if another man
doing well, they look at it like why ain't that me?

Speaker 2 (52:38):
Why ain't that mean? I ain't gonna say that you
think so?

Speaker 3 (52:45):
You don't mean that percentage is crazy?

Speaker 8 (52:50):
There?

Speaker 1 (52:50):
One hundred, you give it no like forty. Look I like,
look at my man, it's like behind I knew behind
for were years. I knew DJ for years and like
to see him like have a following, people like liking man.
It's like like people come to me and be like
be hearing carry y'all show and niggas think I'm like

(53:10):
they want a reaction from me, and I'm like, good,
won't be here.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
You want to see a way for you to say.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
How many?

Speaker 2 (53:28):
How many people? How many people try to do that though,
I mean a bunch of people do that, like people thousands.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
I ain't gonna lie thousands people say that to me.
But my mindset is so different because it's like it's
a want group to win. I want everybody to like
you when you drop when you like, I want you
to win every time. I don't want like when like
when we talk about NBA players, they be like, oh
he you know people other other shows be like he
got overpaid, were like.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
The bank.

Speaker 3 (54:00):
Get because y'all life don't matter to us and we
don't really give a fuck, bro, Like what is your
your life not gonna change my life?

Speaker 10 (54:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (54:08):
I get no.

Speaker 5 (54:10):
I think in the music, in the music business and
in acting world, bro, it's so crabbing a barrel that
and it's not a lot of jobs for African Americans
that no one really champions anybody.

Speaker 2 (54:24):
I think it's more like why did I? Why did
he get that?

Speaker 3 (54:27):
Why did I?

Speaker 2 (54:27):
Instead of me? I think?

Speaker 3 (54:29):
But they live and we just came off a strike too.

Speaker 2 (54:32):
Yeah, but y'all live.

Speaker 3 (54:33):
Y'all live though, Okay, like basketball players, is kind of
like you get paid for like literally your production and
what you do. So Jeff average thirty or whatever he's
getting Like when Bro he be I know you watch it,
he'd be like, all I need is fourteen and seven.

Speaker 2 (54:50):
Yeah, I'm getting this money with y'all. Is not like
that for real.

Speaker 3 (54:55):
And I'm not saying, hey, it's cool, but I was
like him Bro teavy record and took off? How his
ship take off and my ship they probably feel like
my ship better than I'm not justifying it, but I'm
saying it's looked at different respect from my role, even
a movie role.

Speaker 2 (55:12):
I look better than this.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
I look better.

Speaker 2 (55:14):
They only got a six pen.

Speaker 1 (55:18):
Like, but I'm saying for me, I would rather him
funk with me. So if I'm like Bro got a
roll or Bro music is popping, I'm gonna post it
and he might like, damn HEU with my music.

Speaker 3 (55:31):
Damn let me do.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Let me do with him like damn, bro really rock
on my ship. I'm gonna fuck with him.

Speaker 3 (55:38):
Look, that's different, bro. That's why you're successful.

Speaker 2 (55:40):
Bro, that is you know what I mean? Like, most
people don't do that. Bro, I understand.

Speaker 3 (55:44):
I understand it from like boats not saying I understand
that he I'm saying, like because people like see you thriving,
and it's a probably a motherfucker that's been thirsty to
get a while on the record, big facts.

Speaker 2 (55:54):
How this nigga don't even do music for real?

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Like your house that was.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
It's like, it's different brof B.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
Yeah, can what I'm saying, I would be my mind
might be for I'm sad that on the record that
ship hard bro. You like insecure?

Speaker 5 (56:24):
Like insecure bro, most most most most artists, actors, most
creatives are insecure human beings.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
Bro. You know what I'm saying. I believe that that's
real fact.

Speaker 5 (56:39):
And sometimes they can use the insecurity to thrive or
use the insecurity to just hate. And most don't know
how to support because they're not They're not comfortable with themselves,
you know what I'm saying. And so like for me,
I'm the same way. I'm like, yo, go crazy because
what you do ain't gonna affect me.

Speaker 2 (56:59):
That was meant for you.

Speaker 5 (57:01):
Again, a lot of people don't have Again, this is me.
I'm spiritual, I got God.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
What's meant for me?

Speaker 5 (57:07):
It's gonna be for mine. Like doing it was a
shout out to Mike bro Like doing you'rall show. We've
been talking about this for a year and a half.
The timing and the time and the time and didn't
make sense, But it makes sense now. You know who
knows what's gonna come from it? You know what I'm saying.
So like again, it's just being confident with himself and
most people aren't confident within themselves.

Speaker 2 (57:29):
Is it features or do you even see them like that? Hmmm,
that's a good question.

Speaker 5 (57:36):
It's not hargetting features, But it's more so I'm in
a situation mentally where I just want to just show
that I could do it myself, got it personally.

Speaker 2 (57:45):
Because you're doing the to this shit. It's crazy. We ain't.
I ain't where I'm gonna say.

Speaker 3 (57:49):
I haven't paid acisions to that since DeMar Nelly what
Nelly did, so I didn't roll them tapped in doing
Double Sided, you really like, Yeah, it was the first
time even both of your audiences what they want.

Speaker 5 (58:02):
It was the first time having an R and B
I had non songs R and B, non songs afrobeasts.
No one else has ever done that, you know what
I mean. So for me, it was just like just
show my African American side and my Nigerian side, you know,
and so it just felt right.

Speaker 4 (58:18):
You know.

Speaker 1 (58:19):
Is there a different process when you make those different
types of music. I mean, I know it's kind of similar,
but is there a difference when you make an R
and B record more or less an afrobeats record to
an extent, No, it's just.

Speaker 5 (58:27):
It just feels whatever the beat leads to. I mean,
like I just I just I just rock bro whatever
feels right. Again, the same thing with acting, They were like, yo,
the character is supposed to be this, and I'll just
literally just give what I feel and usually it works,
you know, like Dre Right for example, I'll go back
to Drake because it is what it is, like Dre

(58:48):
would be season two. I didn't have that many lines.
It was all about eye contact. So basically before I
got Dre, I studied al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Ed Norton,
Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Denzel I studied what they did
with their eyes, like what they literally, how they look,

(59:10):
what it made, what made them go this way, what
made them just angry?

Speaker 10 (59:14):
What?

Speaker 5 (59:15):
I study what they did because I didn't have that
many lines. So I was like, how can I impact
this role with no lines to make people be like
he's up to something. Oh, okay, you get what I'm saying.
And so that's what I did all season two until
they were like, okay, you know what this is. And

(59:35):
then this is like twenty fourteen, so it was black Twitter,
like I think Drake gonna take over everything. It was
just from this eye context, and I created that and
gave me life on the show. So it was one
of those things where it's like, just create something out
of nothing.

Speaker 1 (59:51):
That's funny, as you said, Ed Norton, because that's an
early normal nigga. He used to make a lot of
non verbal contacts with people. He used to be crazy,
So you just say, that makes a lot of sense.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (01:00:00):
But I didn't take acting classes, so I had to
learn from watching what I saw and just feel like, Okay,
this might work.

Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
I just trust my discernment. Sir, Bro, you I got
a whole new restrict focused bro. But now like, no, bro,
you knowing how how you came up in this ship?
I was room for it, but now it's extremely hot.

Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
I want to ask, what's that feel like for your parents?
Obviously disciplined household wanted you to be great? What's like
when they first see you on TV or they first
hear your song on the radio.

Speaker 2 (01:00:29):
Oh my mom was like why are you Why are
you strucking these girls like that?

Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
Why are you just beating beating sex like that?

Speaker 5 (01:00:37):
No, it's nice, And then she got that first check
like right, that's crazy listen she.

Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
Bro like you know it was.

Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
It was tough at first because Nigerian.

Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
Like that.

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
At first it was like what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
Bro?

Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
But it came like okay, yeah, this is good.

Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
Yeah, just keep doing what you're doing. But it was
it was it was tough at first, but they're happy now.

Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
Can I ask you? You got you got the fro
B album, you got the R and B album, Like,
what what's.

Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
More of your vibe?

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
I know you have?

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
I mean you're Nigerian, but whatever, Like, what's more of
your vibe? What feels right to you? Bro?

Speaker 5 (01:01:35):
Just bro honestly man, whatever beat I hear and moves
my soul. Bro genuinely genuine Like I can't give you
like a this is it's genuinely if you play something.

Speaker 2 (01:01:48):
Now, I'm a melody guy, Okay. So everything that I've.

Speaker 5 (01:01:52):
Done, like from in my Bed to love Rhythm to
all the records I've done, it's all melodies that I
just come up with, you know what I mean, It's
just it just flows.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Like what against the same thing is like what made
you spind move when the double hoober?

Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
For real?

Speaker 12 (01:02:07):
Like what made you do that?

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
I love a person who like base their life off
basketball because that's what I based my life off. Same
So like imuk with that, like yo, I had to
crossover because they why Yeah, like you a nigga, if
you spend on a double team, he's a gun.

Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
He's a gun.

Speaker 1 (01:02:28):
He said it was past first, but a double teams not?

Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
But real, like what made you do that? You can't explain?
It justs just it's just what what's what? What calls
for it? You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:02:41):
Now I'll say this, I ask you question and the
music side and exercise was somebody or some people you
would like to work with on.

Speaker 5 (01:02:48):
The music side and acide either one uh music side
like in any era person by Mary bro Okay, Yeah,
by May. I feel like if me and Bob linked up,
it would be the most timeless music. Acting wise, now,
I'll go now acting wise, shout out to my brother

(01:03:12):
Damnson killing. I think me and he would do something crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
You know what I mean. I think that'd be crazy.

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
Oh man, I'm mad at the times is crazy because
at some point they should have had you on Snowfall.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
Yeah, we were filming Power at the same time.

Speaker 4 (01:03:26):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:03:26):
That's why I hate the para love that would have worked.

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
It was like a battle. It was a bat.

Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
It's a question like I'm biased, right bro, muh, I
was out. I love I love the Snowfall over the
original Power.

Speaker 8 (01:03:45):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:03:45):
I fucked with Snowfall, but like I felt like I
knew Snowfall story. Hm, I feel like I knew it already,
but I knew it. I felt like, listen, it was
a bio pick like Power. I didn't know where the
ship was going fair enough. I didn't never know faults
so far, but the fact that James Patrick gave us

(01:04:07):
lifelong quotes. He said, Tasha, I just has to love
my life. There's nothing that could top that show. He

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
