Speaker 2 (00:17):
Wow, Wow, Wow. The Cardiac Pacers did it again, trail
the entire game, trailed by as many as fifteen points,
but when it mattered the most, Tyrese Halliburton did it again.
Go Halle Go Halle, and Hallie did he go. Thank you,
ladies and gentlemen for joining us for another episode of Nightcap.
As you watch the Indiana Pacers and go on the road,
(00:39):
and what they normally do is take game one, and
they did it again. One eleven, one ten. I said it.
They were down by as many as fifteen, but they
do not give up. And I don't think they played
really well except the fourth quarter. Twells gave up twelve
steals in the first half, nineteen turned over in the
first half, but they filed a way to hang around
and they won the ball game. I am your favorite,
(01:00):

yours wild supplies. Last, guys, let's get right into this,
(02:50):
right into this game. I thought, I thought, I really did.
I thought, okay, see had this thing in the bag
because they, I mean, Indiana cut it and then extended
by more than what the league was before they dug
into it. It was nine, and the next thing you know,
they cut it down to six, and now you're back
up to eleven. They cut it down again, and next
thing you know, it's back up to thirteen. They cut
(03:10):
it down again and get it back up to fifteen.
I said, that's too much to overcome. Nothing is too
much for these places to overcome. They believe. I don't
know what the outside word is thinking, world is thinking,
but they have a never give up attitude. They do
a great job. I've heard Rick Carlile on to the
next play, when guys would turn the ball over, they
would make a mistake. Card Bread, He's like, all to
(03:31):
the next play, we could on to the next one,
on to the next one, on to the next one.
Kept them with a positive attitude, and they go in
there and they still game one, still home court advantage
in game one. Joe, you watched this game, and like
I said, I didn't feel like they played really well
except the last quarter they had again, Oh, Joe, we
talked about it. Six guys in double figure. A lot
of teams nineteen fourteen, fourteen sixteen almost had seven guys
(03:54):
in double figure. But they played six guys in double figures.
Joe Howell was Indiana and this hostile of an environment
able to fall down by as many as fifteen points
by away to win this ball game. Man, they've done
that all postseason, guys. They've been relentless, they've been gritty,
and they've been tough even when they're down. You know,
(04:16):
when the game started off, and I knew and I've
seen that Hungrids was starting at the five and Hartenstein
wasn't starting. I was wonder. I was like, Okay, maybe
they don't want Hungrys playing against Pascal Siakam. That's a
bad matchup for Hungry. And you could tell he kind
of hungry, kind of struggled all night because fast pace
that the Pacers play with, but the guard player was elite.
(04:39):
I thought those dudes, they battled, they competed, and it
was fun to watch. Man. But I'm be honest with y'all,
I didn't see this. I didn't see this. I thought, Okay, see,
gonna take care of business. They had to leave pretty
much the whole time. Corn Bread, what happened, baby, Joe?
Speaker 3 (04:54):
You know that's what happened when he got the big
balls that you think about and you know what, And Shannon,
here's the thing was crazy.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Joe came on earlier. I thought you had played in
the damn game. The look I was like, you played, Joe.
I understand the parlades and all that, but that you
have you have a team that is relate. You have
a Rick Carlisle believes in the sea. You have these
guys believe in each other. And everybody says Nay Smith,
(05:25):
all these other guys who come in and they plays.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Over and over again. Okay.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
See to me, this is what I said before this series.
And I still feel that Indiana's gonna win this series
because I think Chip experence and I believe here here's
what I really believe. I believe that Okay hasn't been
there before. So at the end of that game, a
lot of those guys were knocking down shots. Joe, they
(05:50):
won't lie, so no more, they don't. They didn't, they
won't plan that way no more. At the end of
the game, they got tight, and Ojo, you've seen it before.
You seen it before, Shannon. When guys get tight and
then lets get tight, you don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
What to do. If somebody would have told me, o
yo Wan, turn over to you. If somebody would have
told me that Indiana's gonna turn the ball over twenty
five times, fine, the other team, OKC is only gonna
turn it over seven times and they were gonna win
the game. I would have never believed that. I don't
know the last time I've seen a team turn the
ball over this They had nineteen turnovers in the first half.
(06:27):
I'm like, bro, if y'all get and I was gonna,
I was looking forward to come on and say, you
know what, I think they got a chance to win
if they say if they can get ten, I mean
twelve or few a turnover, so you cut your turnover
in half. That gives you more opportunities to at least
get the ball a shot up. Oh, Joe watching this
ball game, and Shae was doing this thing. Like I said,
(06:48):
he said, the hell with efficiency from the very first
playoff game because he got thirty six points but it
took him thirty shots to get it. Yeah, he's gonna
be ultra aggressive. What is it about what you saw?
For okay see, because I'm sure you was thinking that.
Speaker 4 (07:03):
Damn okay See, I'm gonna be honest with young watching
the game Joe and Coryn, I thought I thought the
game was over. I thought the game was over because consistently,
okay see, he kept scoring. They bill a lead, they
go to fifteen, god damn ay, and to come back.
Then they going another stress, They going another run, they
get another lead. But I said, for goddamn, does the
(07:23):
Pacers keep turning the goddamn ball over So at any
point when they actually do have a chance to get
back in the game, boom, the goddamn thunder going to run,
So I'm thinking.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
The game is over. So I'm sitting back o relaxing.
They get to the fourth quarter, okay, okay.
Speaker 4 (07:37):
Both both ends of both ends of the court, both
teams doing well, and all of a sudden, the goddamn
thunder started missing shots and then they.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Goddamn paces start in shots.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Was Chad? What was Chad? What Chad is is supposed
to be? That dude, you know it's going to be.
He's just the second fibical guy. He he was invisible
in this game. And you have to have those tier
guys step up. You said it before, Channing. You had
seven guys, a little seven guys on that Acer team
(08:10):
who scored the basketball. Yeah, you had some guys over
there on the other side that did just kind of
they cast on them at the end.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
They disappeared, and you can't do that in big games.
What's surprising to me, Guys and Joe, let me know
what you think about this. Why would you change your
starting lineup. You've been starting Isaiah Hartenstein the whole season,
the entire playoffs. I'm gonna dictate. I'm going to dictate
to you. I am not gonna let you bring your
(08:40):
ass in my house and dictate what I'm gonna serve
for dinner. You gonna eat what the hell I put
on the table, or you're gonna go home. Take your
ass home. Hey, look, I agree, I agree. My thing
is it ain't the fact that Okay, yeah, I was
worried when they changed the lineup, but down the stretch, man,
you got everybody out there at six seven and under,
we playing back yard basketball. Ain't nobody really got no advantage.
(09:02):
That's that actually plays in Indiana hands. When you're playing
one shot, you ain't got no offensive rebounding ability and
they're killing you in the inside. So uh, I thought
Obi Topping played great. He kept him in the game
after he slowed down and stopped turning the ball over.
As long as he catches, shoot, crash the glass, man,
(09:22):
he is perfect for this game right here. This is
perfect for him. And I thought he's shying.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Hey, give Rick Carlisle huge points. Give Rick Carlile huge points.
This is need not let those guys your back. And
that is what that's what championship mellow. He's he's the
only guy there from championship experience as a coach. The
other other over there not championship experience, and I think
(09:47):
it showed a little bit in this game.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
And the funny thing about it is, if we talk
about giving a coach credit, right, the coach can do
all the coaching you want, but it comes to the
players to be able to execute and not even give.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Up all the way to the last.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Asked a few seconds of the goddamn game, corn Bread,
the boy were losing, They was down and refused to
give up. They refused up and goddamn Halliburton, who they
claim is mister overrated, He's supposed to be so bad, man.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
I tell you what I love it about, Joe. This
is what I loved about it. At the end of
that game, and you and I played in there. You
guys have played then in football. At the end of
that game, in that stadium, you could have heard the
damn mouse piss on cotton then death, and that's that
is the thriller.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Bell love it. Yeah, on, hold on, hey, hold on,
I got one question for you.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
I got one question for you and Joe, corn Bread,
I already know where you're going with it now. I
asked you before the series started, and Joe, both of
you picked the Thunder the winning series.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
I just want to I would.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
I just want to know, after the night's game, as
bad as the Pacers played, are you still sure you
want to stick with the Thunder the winning series.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
I want to go seven games? Didn't I didn't want to.
I don't want to go five or less because then
we what hell we gonna talk about? So I need
to go all the way. I need to go all
the way today, July. Okay, okay, Joe, Joe, you know
what Oto, It's one game, baby, This why it's a series.
Hear me. Give me. I want to make sure. I
want to make sure we're on point. Now. You picked
(11:19):
the tumbler, I picked I picked it. I picked the
paces right.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
So you have to understand each each game, each game
that's played one hundred.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
We got to talk about that. For the game you
can't come you can't come in, and you can't come
in here like that, man. You got to establish that
for the game start. We made a friendly bet, all
right in the last series. I tried to run that
on you against the Knicks. You wouldn't. You weren't going,
remember I saying that to you? No, what are we
talking about? We talked about this before we started now.
(11:48):
Not in a game, bro, not one hundred dollars a game,
Oh Joe, I'm saying it's a five game sit Listen,
a five game series, six seven game series.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
Each game is one hundred dollars depending on who team win. Boy,
you slick boy, Okay, I'm.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Gonna let you. I'm let you finish. But I didn't
realize it. They got beat Okay, see normally beat people
up on the glass. Indy ever beat them by plus seventeen. Right,
thank you, Joe. That ain't my problem how you decided
this with your line up up? So what you want
me to do? Listen now, when I was thinking when
(12:24):
the games started, I'm like, man, what had start at?
But I know what they were thinking. They did not
go on Hungrid after guard Pascal Siakam. They would have
been a tough matchup for him. He wouldn't have been
able to guard him on the perimeter. But I would
have went down the stretch. I would have had some
size in that down the stretch or something. Man, come on, now,
but here's the problem that you run into is that
when you go small like that, now you get cleaned
(12:46):
up on the glass and now you're letting them corn bread.
You know, you're letting him get second chance opportunities. Now
you're giving somebody a second crack at you. It's on Joe,
and I feel it's like third down.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
You.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
All you hope to do is get the third down.
But him, if you let them capitalize it can't get
off the feet. What have you done? You forced a misshot,
But if you can't get the rebounds, you've done nothing.
Now you've got to play an extra possession and sooner
or later that catches up with you. I was really surprised.
And that's what Golden State was really good at. Golden
State was good at forcing other team to play that
small ball. YEA would have add Igua dollar and they
(13:18):
were playing, you know, basically Draymond at the five, and
everybody feel like, yeah, we got to play like that.
But y'all don't play like that. They do. OK. See,
you play two bigs. You're one of the few teams
that currently in the NBA that still play two bigs.
So why wouldn't this in the most important games of
your of this young team assembled life. Why would you
(13:40):
go small when your advantage is to have two bigs?
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Hold times you overthink it that's what happens. You overthink
the process. You got there with this one girl, and
then all of a sudden you change.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
We're in the wrong place right now.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
We need to be outside in front of OKC right now,
with that out the hall. You gass, we made so
much to tell funny because there's gonna be some people
pissed off and they want they get drunk.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yeah, ain't bread, Hey bread, Joe, and I got a question. Listen, y'all.
Speaker 4 (14:14):
Y'all, y'all are basket basketball basketball savians, you know, in general,
So let's say they changed the lineup right, you say
it always went with the two bigs.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
What happened?
Speaker 4 (14:23):
When you play against a team like in Indiana paces
that run up and down the court in transition, you
think they understand that those two bigs might be a
liability offensively and degously, regardless of regardless of the boards.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
In general. Your question, lacord I, put it to your
football terms. Y'all played the Cincinnati Bengals played three wides, y'all,
and your team the team that good, really good? Are
you gonna chase that? You know what? They got really good?
So if instead of playing three wise, we're gonna go
two tights and two and two wides. No, I'm gonna
do what I did to get me there. So now,
if you're gonna play that small lass line up, I'm
(14:56):
gonna punish your ass inside. I'm gonna punish you on
the glass like they because see they're used to play
in siakam in a Miles Turner. Yeah, you're not used
to playing Wallace. Wallace doesn't start Hardenstein the Two Bigs.
Like I said, they're one of the few teams that
still play old like you guys used to play. Y'all
(15:17):
had a true big and a true four. It wasn't
no stretch. Nothing you stretched before you went into the game.
That was the only stretch that we would be now
was the only stretch that was going on corn bread.
And so I'm surprised that Okay, see did this and
one of the this is the most important this Nucleus
and DoD knots this is the most important series of
(15:38):
their career, and he switched it up. And I just
don't know why.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Well, I think that sometimes again, you overthink the process
you do. And for me, I remember playing the Lakers.
Instead of getting smaller, we got bigger. We had separate
parts all around sixteen McHale, parish burn myself. We got bigger.
So you want to attack a two like that on
the glass? That was okay, Ce's weakness. Everybody in the
(16:04):
beginning of this series talked about one person I heard
defensively the door. What was he gonna do defensively? But
dork is probably about six four. You got those guys up.
That's six eight sixt' nine and he played a great game.
But there are guys who disappeared. I stayed like you.
I'm like you about dinner. If you come to my
(16:24):
damn house, don't be telling me you you know you don't.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
You don't eat this, and you ain't you don't eat that. Okay,
I'm like you. You know, I hope you ate, but
you brought your black ass there because you go get
what I further, you're you're thinking, is that what you are?
You're thinking?
Speaker 3 (16:40):
We have a damn pope Chops, and we hear exactly.
You know, you know I don't eat you know what
we do. We're cooking it with damn Chris. That's what
the thing.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
So you talking about all that other stuff you're talking about, Hey, listen,
I mean you look at bro they had Pascal Siakam
had nineteen points ten rebounds, aaron Ne Smith ten points,
twelve rebounds, Tyrese Halliburton fourteen points, ten rebounds, Miles Turner
fifteen points, nine rebounds. You had four guys with Damnar
(17:12):
double figure rebounds.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
What did Chad do when Chad give you to Night
gave you six and six, He's two for nine, two
for nine.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
He gave you six points six rebounds. I say, Lordenstein
gave you nine points nine rebounds, and so you didn't
have what they had almost four guys in double figures.
You had no guys in double figures, and you had
a guard that had as many rebounds as your biggest rebounder.
So you you played into their hands. And look, if
I'm gonna get beat, I got I've got to get now.
(17:47):
I can make an adjustment, brand I can always tell
you know this, We could always make adjustment. But I'm
coming out with what has got me there, and then
I'll see how the game is playing out, and then
I'll make an adjustment of Cordingly, I agree, surprise.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
I hope like get surprised the hell out of them
made the fact that they changed what had gotten them there.
Artist what we know he is. He is a dress
up on the offensive glass. He's a dress of defense. Then,
and your and your tendency defensively, your your strengths has
always been those two guys running the floor, those two
(18:22):
white cowards being in there, being able to cut things up.
You took one of the towers away, and Indiana feasted
on the glass. And that's how mind you they stayed
in this basketball game.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
And another thing got Joe, no one. I'm gonna let
you go, Joe. Another thing that defense we talked about.
They lied in the out of the shoot forty eight
percent from the floor and forty six percent from the three.
And we talked about their defense. We talked about lou Door,
we talked about Wallace, we talked about Caruso, we talked
about Isaiah, Joe, we talked about all these guys. Where
(18:56):
was that defense? Because it doesn't mean anything. Your defense,
your off is only a good what can I get
done when I absolutely gotta have it done? Bread, If
I got.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
A guy and we lead our offense, we leave the
league in scoring, and I got a guy that leave
the league in scoring.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
What good is that? If I and down the clutch.
I can't crunch time. I can't get I can't get
a bucket. Right. So all this defense that they and
they are, they're they're the number one defensive team. They
led in steels, they lead in deflections, they letting field
goal percentage. They are a very good team. But you
needed that tonight. And you allow the team to shoot
forty eight percent from the floor and forty six percent
(19:32):
from the three. That'll get you beat on most nights.
But I'm surprised that the Pacers were able to stay
around with twenty five turnovers. Hey, guys, I think you
know when they got down what they were down, like
(19:52):
fifteen fifteen, they started playing that desperation basketball. You know,
they started playing desperation basketball or what. They started making threes,
and you know, like when you're down like that, you
start to play a little loose because you're trying to
get back in the game. And once they cut into
about six, I was like, all right now, all right, hey,
look I was sitting there comfortable too. I'm ready to
get on. I was a little I say, man, now,
(20:15):
I'd have told the house up over here behind it.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
But man, I have never sitting in Joe Johnson, who
is one of the coolest dudes around.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
Come on, before this game, it looked like it looked
like trash. Joe, What going on, dude.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
I'm like, Joe looked like he was frustrated, Like Joe
just ran off the damn court.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
I was like, Joe, you're right, little played with ok Man, listen,
I got some razor backs over there. Man. Listen, Hey,
look when when you watch the game, like, it's hard
for me to just sit here and just really enjoy
it because I be so immersed into the game and
I'm like, Okay, see got control of this. And then
Indiana just relentless. Man, relate. Look, Nate Smith, not Nate Smith, unhard,
(21:04):
nim hard down the stretch. He was a two guy.
He was a ghost.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
He didn't one that was make it plenty. Hey, you
know what I thought? You know what I thought?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
Okay had it because Nie Smith throw the ball and
he goes and he goes up, and he didn't go
up as strong as he needed to be. And then
all of a sudden, what could have he could have
taken the lead. Now, all of a sudden they cut
back down the court and Shade gets a layup, and
I'm like God, I said, man, you that just that,
(21:34):
I said that they have lost the game.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Now tell o Jo, I can tell you what happened.
I'm gonna tell you why Joe stows the game. Some
damn dead president. He's losing right there. Hey, what it
is Lincoln see grants and whatever he's spending right now,
them things walking away.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
That's why he's frustrated. Right as long long and long
as I get my hand, he owe me chill, chill, chill, chill.
Hey listen, check homemberdge got he got to give us
some guys. Listen. I think they gotta go back. They
got to go back with the big lineup because you
done try this small ball and it ain't it don't
it don't fit you. It fits Indiana. It's in Indiana's favor.
(22:17):
So because down the stretch when you look, they can't
get no second chance opportunity. Miss. You know, if you
have hard Steyn the homebridge in the one shake do miss, amittee,
maybe they'll tip it out. You get another opportunity. But
you get on one shot and now you got to
get back on defense. So, uh, I didn't like it, man,
I ain't like the startup. I ain't like the change
in the lineup. Man, you the number one team in
(22:38):
the NBA cornbread, Oh Joe, why you switching things up?
Make them people adjust to you exactly.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
Hey, I'm gonna ask you again, though, Joe. Listen, let's
say they do go big. I mean, as as a coach,
you got to make adjustments and understanding that list the game.
Hey wait, because you already know they are ability on defense.
If you don't get that guy, damn rebound. They down
the court running the four by one.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Well, you know what, I think? You know what now
playing it back in my head, I think, okay, see
looked at the series before Cleveland. What did Cleveland do
play two bigs? Cleveland got ran off the court, so
he looked. I believe he looked. I believe that it
looked at it like that. And also the Knicks, the
Knicks had success. They had success with what when they
(23:26):
brought Mitchell Robinson and Cat in because Mitchell Robinson can protect. Also,
now you got cat can do what he wanted because
Kat is not a defender, and he really doesn't want
to play the five. He wants to play the four.
You let Mitchell Robinson so I think that played a
rolling I think okay, see looked at those two and
they say, man, they ran and remember Cleveland is a
(23:47):
good defensive team. Yeah, they got ran off the court.
They got beat four to one. You saw what they
did to the Knicks. They didn't have home court. They
ran them off the court. So, okay, see said, you
know what, let me switch it up. I ain't switching
up nothing. You're gonna have to. You're gonna beat me,
but you're gonna beat me at my best. Now, you know,
(24:07):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Game two, Okay, I might have to make some adjustment,
but I'm not making I'm not making no.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
I'm not making no. I'm not making no adjustments before
I have to make adjustments. That's what I'm saying. Come
on now, hey, brid Fred, I'm like, you know what, Hey,
my car crank is just fine and everything's going to go.
Hey man, change my transmission on your change the battery
for no reason, Come on, canno before in this next
(24:39):
game right here, See, there's gonna be some assholes.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Gonna be tight and that when the game like that
and you and you got in your home. This says
a I'm sorry, but this is a must win game
for them. Absolutely, that's the must win game. And Joe, Joe,
Dody'll come back. Joe, you had the right part.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Hey, hey, hey, young brand and Joe right, listen, If
the coach made the decision to go small right against
the Pacers in the first game, is he gonna change
it back in the second game? Is he gonna really
sit there and take that sword and fall on that
sword and say, you know what, I made the wrong decision.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
If you're a smart coach, you make do you see
that adjustment that you have to make. That's why I
said in the beginning of this series, it favored the
Pacers because they had a coach who had championship experience.
It's also been there with Larry Bird in Indiana when
(25:49):
they played and were playing for a championship. He's one
one before, he's one one in Boston. So his experience
I think showed in that game. And he was definitely
what you said the old time. I think, Shannon, he
was great as saying, go on to the next play,
go on to the next one. And that's what happens
you if you believed in your coach and now when
(26:12):
you have players over there. Second guessing what the coach
is saying. That's gonna be one thing, because you can
see the look on everybody's face. I don't know why
we're not there right now. Man, we could be selling
shots like a bug.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Up and there.
Speaker 4 (26:26):
We bet we can making so much damn money.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
You know that's how I go. Next year. Next year,
we're gonna take the show on the road. We're gonna. Hey,
we're gonna, we're gonna talk. We're gonna talk to Adam
Silver said, Adam, A Hey, we gonna we want to
we on to go, and we want to go on
the road. We want to be a We ain't gotta
we be in the hallway. We'll be in the al
We ain't gonna get We got the license. Make sure
you get your liking license. Listen, hey, y'all take this
(26:55):
show on the road. Now, y'all gonna have to cut
me in and cut it out. All right, y'all have
to cut cut it out. I'm telling you right now,
cut me in and cut out. I'm disappointed. Man, don't
worry about it. But that's ojo ojo. I give you
prime example the Super Bowl. Talk to me, what did
(27:16):
the Eagles defense do all year they played cover two.
The entire season they played, they played two. I think
they played one or two snaps a single high safety.
In the Super Bowl they were a Cover two team.
Can you imagine if all of a sudden instead of
being a Cover two team, all of a sudden, they
come out and they gonna say, you know what, We're
gonna play single high and we're gonna play quarters. Well,
(27:38):
that's not what you've done all year to get you
to this point.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
Now.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
If I'm going out there, if you starting to gash
me in what I'm doing now, I've got to make
an adjustment. Why would I make an adjustment before I
have to? Right when you've been the best team all
year you've been you won sixty eight games, you wanted
the few teams that's won at least eighty games before
you reach the finals, and then all of a sudden
(28:02):
you let this team. They credit India is playing well.
I don't think I think all four of us can
agree India is playing well. I think they've been the
biggest surprise in the NBA playoffs this year. They beat
the sixty four win team they beat, and they've been
the underdog. They beat the Bucks, they beat Cleveland, they
beat the Knicks. They've been and they've been the underdog.
(28:23):
You know what, if they were to pull this off
in the last thirty years, this might be the biggest upset.
This might this might be those might be. This might
be Detroit La beating La in O three. This might
be the Mavericks beating the Heat in twenty eleven. Because
(28:43):
think about what they've the gauntlet that they've gone through.
They've been the underdog in the first round, in the
second round, the third round, and the finals, and they're
going up against the finals, the MVP of the league
and the best offense, the best defense.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
But say shann to be truthful about this state, the
Pacers have played better than anybody in the place they play.
They played, they outplayed everybody, and that includes okay, see okay,
see played. They've been okay and in some games, ain't struggle.
But the Pacers have been the best playing team during
(29:19):
this NBA Finals, during the during this whole NBA playoffs,
they've been the best team. So it shouldn't surprise us.
And at the end of the game for them to
make that shot, Oh my god, I can just I
can feel I can feel the things you were talking about.
Speaker 2 (29:40):
I can feel Joe. I can feel Joe's pain when
he came on. I can feel old Joe's pride when
you're sitting there. And then you know, and my part
lay baby and you you you gotta think about I mean,
look at Joe if God, if we think about look
who they beat. They beat first team unanimous All NBA selection, Yiannis,
(30:03):
they be Defensive Player of the Year. Evan Mobley they
beat Uh, he was the first team All NBA. Donovan Mitchell.
They beat thirdeam Jaylen Brunton was an All NBA selection.
I mean, so look at it. Look now you've got
Shae Shae unanimous m v P, Jaylen Williams thirteam Dor.
I think Dort was on the All Defensives. Tell me,
(30:25):
Shandon you're saying that. Tell me the player in Indiana
that we're saying is the All Star player. Nobody. Uh
he didn't have to go to ha me went to
the All Star Game this year, right Nah?
Speaker 7 (30:43):
But he but here is yeah, he just started Stockham.
They they are the superstar their stars. Yeah they yeah,
they But the thing is they're by committee. The only
thing that you know is that late in the ball game.
If you need a shot to win the tie, Halla
Burn's gonna take it.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
You can't let him bread. He just just like everybody do.
If that game was playing the ball game, y'all know,
thirty three, thirty three is gonna take Okay, y'all keep
pulling around the show. What what? What was I'm trying
to figure out what Halle Burn's dad mother did in
that game. Was he doing cartwheels out there? He on
(31:24):
a probation already, so he kept yeah, yeah, you know,
I mean, if that's my son out there, I'm doing
the carwheel out there in the middle of the floor. No, No,
that got you, That got you go in jail. I'm
telling you what the way that game played out is.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
I'm just like all you guys right now looking at it.
In the beginning this game, everybody had Indiana uh and
not playing. And then the Turlo was like you said, Joe,
I kept doing like this, damn another turnover.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
Throw the ball back now, I thought, And then all
of a sudden, the reiling back here. Joe.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
You've been there before, O, Joe, you've been there before, chanting,
I know you've been there before. Out there, what they
called get your fishing bow a lot this and you're
real that suck and you're realing me, you're punking, and
then you're pulling back in.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
He might go a little bit further, but you got
him on that line. You got that thing in his
mouth like that. You know you don't know about fishing, though,
bread Red, You gotta stop talking. Oh, you don't know
no about fat, no hook. He don't know about shore fishing.
He don't know about no flat no flat head. He
don't know about no butter cat, no china cat, no
speckle cat. He don't know nothing about that. No white birch.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
No.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
Hold on, hold on, hold on, listen. He's talking about fishing, right,
you talk about actual fishing now. And there's there's there's
other perspectives in the different contexts that I can talk
about and use the same thing y'all talking about.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
We'll probation, probation. We we can't get too soon, too soon,
so soon? Oh I know how to fish? Yeah, yeah,
you know you get to Joe. You're good hunter. Oh
I'm hunter now, I know my baby watching.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Hey hey hey hey yeah two leg hunting. But that's okay.
We're gonna talk about that. We're talking about that. The
months were talking about this, but you got sick. But
think about it when the Pacers, when the Pacers win
ball games, look at the stat line, Look how many
guys they have in double figures. They're gonna have at
(33:36):
least at bare minimum five, sometimes they get six. Even
last game they had seven guys in double figures. And
those guys and and that's hard to plan for it
because you're like, Okay, we got a key on. We're
gonna key on Jayalen Williams, and we're gonna key on shape.
If somebody else goes hey winan gives us twenty five thirty,
(33:58):
we can live with that. All the praiser is gonna
do to have a bunch of nineteen seventeen, fourteen, thirteen, fifteen, sixteen,
you will have two nine of eight.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Joe, Joe, did you happen to see that play kind
of at the end of the game, woman, I thought
that was shake got pushed, shake got fout, and he
pushed it. He pushed the opposition away. That does look
crack to me because that you don't see that from
shak he ool, But all of a sudden he did.
He did like Shannon Sharp did at that Laker game
(34:30):
that time when Joe I kept bringing it up. I'm sorry, Joe,
tell I think about it. I can see Shannon floor.
Bring your ass over here. Then bring your ass, Okay,
bring your ass, bring your ass. And you know what
he told me, Joe, he told me I didn't. I
(34:50):
didn't step over the floor. I'm like, hell, you did
step over ain'tle Are you like this your ass over here?
I was like, yeah, I looked down the feet that like, oh,
let me, let me get picked back. I always y'all,
ain't on the floor.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Did you have but huh? Did you have something system
that night?
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Off?
Speaker 2 (35:09):
No? No, no, no, I don't. I don't. I don't.
I don't all the time. I's got to be a
private event. I don't. I don't. I wouldn't. I wouldn't
drink out in public like that.
Speaker 4 (35:16):
Hell sometimes, you know, they sometimes, Joe, you be in
a certain situation now, regardless of your.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Environment, you got to stand up for yourself. You just
can't let them wait when the cameras round. Yeah, but
I was, I was. I was surprised, and I agree
with you, bred I thought, you know, I thought they
let him play to a certain they were letting them
playoff like well that that play tonight, that was that
was eighties basketball. Yes, yes, yes, where it was physical.
(35:45):
It was a lot of bumping. It was a lone
of pushing bottle.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
And what it does it famous Indiana because they're the
more physical team. Indiana Pacers are the more physical team. Okay,
c is more of the finesse team. And because of that,
the finesse at the end got.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Pushed around by the team that was more aggressive. That
was in the app Man, they gotta have some signs
in the game, fellas. This is what Okay, see lost man,
y'all know that. Man, Come on, they had their lead
kind of left. Let they put off the gas a
little bit, and Indiana is gonna do what they've been
doing the whole postseason. Man, they're gonna keep playing to
(36:24):
the buzzer sound. Now at the last five to seven minutes,
when you're playing small ball, that's gonna work in Indiana. Favor. Man,
you don't have no size and that to come back nothing. Defensively,
you can't get no offensive rebound. This they limited you
to one shot and they pushing it down your throat.
I just thought Okay. See yeah, Like like you said, Brett,
they overthought it. Man, why would you change up your
(36:45):
lineup like that? Okay, if it don't work in the
first five minutes, okay, we'll make some subs and we'll
get some guys in. But outside of it, I'm not
letting y'all change what we've done all year.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
We got the bet, we're the best team, and we've
been playing this way all year, and now I get
to the game and all of a sudden, I'm gonna
change what I do. He's like, because when I heard
them say they have to change the lineup, I'm like,
why would they do that?
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Cause I was because that's what I did. I was
looking at it. Because I'm looking at it, I'm like,
hold on, this guy said. I'm like, man, hold on,
Wallace doesn't normally start, and it been done them. I'm like, well,
who normally starts? I was like, well, somebody must have
got hurt. And then I see hard Time say Hardens
Time is supposed to be up on that first line,
not in the second line. Because what happens, like you said, guys,
(37:31):
if you notice Indiana, Okay, they starting to make a comeback.
Now they miss a shot. Guess what they can do,
get another opportunity because somebody ate somebody, get a rebound,
because you don't really have no size in it. Basically,
you got guard. All guards, you got shave of guard.
Lou Dart's a guard. Wallace is a guard. Weave of
(37:52):
a guard, and you hunger and laid like a gard,
like a guard. He wants to be a guard. You
don't like ll look, you know.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
You know it's funny, is you know it's funny everybody,
everybody Already it seemed like they crown the Thunder before
the series even started. Now we're talking about now the
Thunder lose. They had the whole game one obviously until
the last three, two minutes, whatever it may have been. Now,
Joe and Corin, Brad even you said what they need
to do and do what they've always done the past
few series, starting their two bigs right now, you know
(38:21):
what's going. I'm gonna tell you howm gonna tell you
how the basketball guys work. They're gonna start their two
bigs and then get their ass ran off the goddamn
court and stopping. I'm telling you, listen, I guarantee you
that's what happens. It's just it's just the way in general.
It's just general.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Would you let me ask you a question, would you
rather lose your way or lose somebody else's way? I'd
rather lose my I got I got it, like Bred said,
I got it. I gotta dance for what got me there.
I'm not going to change. Let me see what they
got going on. And then I got a change of
clothes in the car. So if I over drop over dress,
(39:00):
I take my ass in the car and then I'll
talk back. But I toop fit to change.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
You.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Hey, man, you're gonna be over dress. And then I
walk up in there with blue JS on. There's some
black tile fair. Nah, I'm gonna bring good change his
clothes and then I dress accordingly. See what's going on?
Speaker 5 (39:16):
Now?
Speaker 2 (39:17):
You boy? Where are you gonna change your clothes? At
you out in the car or yeah? Yeah, you know
we changed. We changed in the car. It ain't never
be there ain't never been no problem for us. I say, man,
but I was. But look, you gotta go back. I
mean the last time I think it was Lebron. I
think it's what twenty with that twenty seventeen, twenty seventeen
(39:40):
when he was hitting all those games winning. You remember
he hit that one against Indy and he hit that
one against Toronto and he played up HALLI burn. I don't.
I can't remember a guy hitting this many game winning
or game tying shots in one playoff run.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
You're right, and you can see these plays though, and
Joe was good at this. I wasn't that dude, because
we had Larry Bird guys like that.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
You want MVP in the final playing with Larry Bird,
what did you talk about? Well, I want pretty much
you bitch, I can tell you that.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
But but but I know at the end of the game,
when that ball was going to be shot, I was
gonna be to get a rebound because you have birds
shooting the basketball. We look at Holly Burton right now,
this might be that this this is the craziest thing
we think about a guy that all the other players
in the NBA said it was the most over over
(40:32):
rated and now the steps up and kicking ass and
taking names every single game. That is ridiculous. And you
know it's coming you and I can see it. At
the end when they got the ball, I was like,
oh no, it's not Yeah, it can't happen to get
it can't happen again, No, it can't. Yeah, I mean
(40:52):
think about it. He's hit game winning shots.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
He's hit game remember, hit the game winning layup against Milwaukee,
he hit the game hit two games when the shots
against Cleveland, hit the game win against the Knicks. Here
and here we are again. He's got five game winning
shots and if I'm not mistaking Hill, all of them
might be in this in this playoff run. He's been.
He's been phenomenal. Man I Padly has been great early
(41:25):
in the game for me, though, Guys, he he's not
aggressive enough.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
It's like he just kind of he's so passive and
he let everybody else kind of make plays.
Speaker 2 (41:34):
But let him hang around and he give him a
chance in that fourth quarter, he gonna come alive and
he obi top was Keto over copy was key tonight.
Speaker 3 (41:45):
Let me how many times me ask you this, how
many times have you seen that from the great Michael
Jordan's games where he just coast along, get up with
other people involved, and then let the end of the game,
you know, with the sas that's gonna be. And because
he got other people involved in the game, now you
can't run away from the them parts.
Speaker 2 (42:06):
You can't really wake from all these guys. My turn
had a huge three.
Speaker 3 (42:11):
Everybody started hitting shots because now he had them involved.
They were confident and you could see the win just
being taken out of the cells of what was going on.
And okay, see it if for me this is Joe,
I'm like you about this, and I'm sure you guys
are like this in football.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
My my best thing I used to love o cheb was.
Speaker 3 (42:33):
I used to love when I went to somebody else's
arena and I saw damn kids start crying when they.
Speaker 2 (42:38):
Would leave the game. I love it. It's like they
lost something like that was my that was my that
was my feet. I loved it. And you look at
a lay that ball game, nim hard, nim mart was
going one on one to give me the ball, to
kill me the ball. Hey, you know we're going that
folks he played with so he comfortable playing against Shay. Yeah.
(43:03):
They played on the same national team, so it ain't like,
you know, this ain't foreign to him. He's like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
I got this because confidence was oozing out of him
late in the game. Oh Joe, the boy was getting
to it you hear me. Yeah, And they was breaking
down the defense so much that they were getting wide
open jumps. I'm like, man, what is okase doing? Joe?
How much that probably was tonight? Not that you're gonna
(43:24):
get it, but I'm just saying I.
Speaker 3 (43:25):
Want I would have got twelve bands, man, I would
have somebody, get somebody, get just down to Alca Selson
because this stuff, this stuff running down after that shot
that holler feak.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
It had to be some brown stuff running down his
leg because hold on, Joe, Joe, you was gonna lose
because they was favorite you. You didn't cover the spread. Man,
I wasn't talking about no spread. I had a couple
of players who was gonna do what they were doing,
and I hot to win twelve thousand.
Speaker 3 (43:57):
Yeah, man for a little nothing too o, Joe. I
ain't bet but a little get one and you got
a little of nuhing.
Speaker 2 (44:03):
So it's even Hey, hey, that would have been would
have been That would have been nice. But you talking
about for me? We could split that. No, no, no, no,
hey check this out, guys. Game one of the Pacers.
It was their fifth comeback victory from a defensit of
fifteen or more points in the twenty twenty five NBA Playoffs.
(44:26):
That's the most bad team in a single postseason since
nineteen ninety eight. Check this out. The Pacers, the Bucks
had them. The Bucks were up seven points and the
final thirty five seconds, with a ninety eight percent chance
to win. They lost. They were The Cavaliers had them
down seven points in the final minute. What a ninety
(44:46):
six percent chance of winning, and they lost. The Knicks
had a ninety nine point seven percent win rate, up
fourteen in the final three minutes, they lost. The Thunder
had a ninety six percent chance to winning the game,
up nine in the final three minutes, The Pacers one.
All four. We in nineteen ninety eight, only four teams
(45:08):
have won a playoff game despite leading for the thirty
seconds or less. In nineteen ninety nine, the Spurs Game
two Western Conference Finals, they only led ten seconds. The
Maths two thousand and one, Game five in the first
round thirty seconds. Lakers Game four, West Finals two thousand
and two, thirteen seconds. Take the numbers.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
Take the numbers, you just got, take it to the
nearest bathroom and go flip down the damn dorgan That's
what you do with them.
Speaker 2 (45:37):
Today.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
That's what I hate about all these guys right now
with all the stats joke, if we look at o
choke from deeper sort getting to a game, A game
is about heard at the end of the game, ball, baseball, whatever,
it is. All the analytics that we want to go
down all.
Speaker 5 (45:53):
Three numbers you give Shannon, when you said ninety eight
percent this, that and the ninety eight you got to
have of balls at the ear and that's what wins games.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
I don't care who you are. I seen that, so Joe.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
I saw Joe put down uh Paul Pierce with a
hesitating dribble.
Speaker 2 (46:12):
You remember that, lady. He was trying to steal the
ball from you, Joe, and you read I was like,
I was like damn, And I was like.
Speaker 3 (46:22):
Teach im, like like yeah, damn, Paul, I said that,
I said, and and and then here's the worst thing
about it, Shannon. That game was in Boston, and when
Paul went down and didn't get the ball, I guess.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
Bread bread, you know, you know Boston draftic me man,
I love coming back that crowd. It was nothing better
than that. It was nothing better than that. The placers
laid for a grand total of zero point three seconds.
Check this out call where you will love this stad
NBA teams were all in one twenty one went down
by seven more points and the five of three there's
(47:00):
a regulation in the NBA finals over the last twenty
eight post seasons. Wow, zero for one twenty one. Wow?
What does that do right now? Oh?
Speaker 5 (47:09):
Oh, I know?
Speaker 2 (47:10):
And they got this one for one twenty other.
Speaker 3 (47:12):
Indian other's up one one game and now all the
pressure is on the young basketball team.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Now can they come back?
Speaker 3 (47:21):
It's that possibility because I mean, I don't think I've
seen anybody Joe, you or I still on one.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
This damn Shay is different. Hey, damn he he is.
He he's a let's use the word, we like you.
He's a bitch. That's how we were saying. Pople I
was playing against that. We build a besch that is
a best man. He's a bitch. Hey.
Speaker 3 (47:42):
These boys out there playing though they are talking talking
about both teams guard wise, they they playing great, defensive, physical. Uh.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
I love to see it. Man. The competition level is
at an all time high.
Speaker 3 (47:53):
But man, okay, can't play that small ball against in there.
And I'm sorry, guys, they got all they got to
get back to the strong board.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
Honestly, if you think about it and you look at
the way things have played out, not only doing the
regular season, you look look at the way things have
played out during the playoffs. The analytics, the stats, the numbers,
everything you drow, you've written down.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
The way the game played to night. Do you not
see how the basketball guys have this thing lined up
for the Pacers to win? Can you not see it?
You can.
Speaker 4 (48:18):
You can see it like it's playing itself out in
real time, and a lot of people are paying attention
to it because if they're not looking at the past,
they just listen.
Speaker 2 (48:27):
It's right there for you.
Speaker 4 (48:29):
So if you're a gambling man, if you're a gambling woman,
if you play in that world of Paul Ais and
all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Bet your money with the Pacers. I don't do it.
I'm telling jo Joe, that's why you lost the night
Kill Chill. They gonna bounce, They gonna they gotta bounce back.
They don't have a choice. No Passcal Yakam in game
one nineteen points, ten rebounds, joins Dale Davis as the
only Pacers with a fifteen to ten game in the finals.
Obie top in Game one seventeen points, five rebounds, five
(48:58):
may three pointers. Only Jie Miller has more three point
made in a game in franchise Finals history. Despite the loss,
Shaye dropped off almost a forty piece. He had thirty
eight points, five rebounds, three steals. That is the most
points in a Finals debut since Ai had forty eight
in Game one in the two thousand and one Finals
against the Lakers. He didn't really get no help though
(49:22):
on this No Shay after game on Game one loss,
he said, it's a forty eight mini game. The Pacers
teach you that lesson more than anyone else in the league,
the hard way. He's absolutely right. Yeah, yeah, he's right. Uh,
they gonna make you pay for the mistakes. And once
(49:42):
you get comfortable and you think it's over, they gonna
be steady fighting and swinging and they gonna catch you
and night night. It's hard to brand, you know, Like
it's hard to reverse that momentum. You let a team
get momentum. They see a couple go in and then
you missed a couple. God you start, man, I don't
want to shoot, just let somebody else say you take it.
(50:04):
I want it up and all of a sudden and
you're like, damn, he hit another one, winning their hard
turning to Kobe Bryant rest Kobe so man, Obie women
Obie topping, turning to Steph Curry. Yeah, well then you
know what happens. That is confidence from the coach.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Rick Carlisle is giving those guys the greenlight to play fast.
Rick Carlyle as as you would know Joe, And one
time it's more of a control guy, the way he
controlled his players. But now I talked to Quinn Buckner,
who does radio and television for those guys. He said,
all of a sudden, Rick carl said, Yo, guy, squad,
(50:42):
din play play the way you want to play, and
we're gonna win the basketball game because we're gonna be creative,
We're gonna we're gonna have tenacity, and we're gonna do
something that nobody thinks. Nobody in the NBA right now
thought this is going.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
I looked at all there.
Speaker 3 (50:57):
It's experts, especially a guy perk over there. Dog, Oh yeah,
somebody give mature shoes escalated. You know this is what
I'm gonna do this because this is what's gonna happen. Dude,
you got to play the game. You can't talk about it.
You got to play the game.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
Hey, Joe, think about what you just said too early,
not too long ago. Right about Holly Burden not being
aggressive at the beginning of the game, being very passive.
But look at the method to his madness, right, he's
being passive, allowing everybody else to give themselves in the rhythm,
allowing everybody else to gain that confidence that the game
goes on. Then look at the shots they're hitting later
on in the game. Shots count at the most opportune
times where it matters most. And then what does Holly do.
(51:39):
I'm not saying he has that mama mentality. I'm just
saying he's acting mamba like and even he's been doing
it all playoffs, all playoff long.
Speaker 2 (51:47):
He asked, Hey, the chat is laughing. They want to know,
corn bread Joe, who the real thirty one, real thirty
one right here, Joe, the real thirty one is retired
up to the Boston Card. Dude. I know who you are, Joe.
(52:08):
I believe in you.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
But between you and and now right now, there's only
been thirty three guys in the history of the NBA been.
Speaker 2 (52:14):
The founds m DPA You're right right, it was. But
the one thing, the one thing you could have done
was at least put my initials into Jersey or something
while hanging up there. You could have done something for you.
I'm on now, Yo, Yoe, you and I want together, baby.
We went out together. Don't you worry about it. We
went not to get. When I pulled it up, I
(52:37):
was like, Joe Johnson, that's medium going up together. A
because when I because when I see it in the
rafts I show my kids, I'm like, yeah, that's that's
that was my number right there, Daddy bad bread. I
ain't gonna lie man. In eighty one when y'all came
back on the sixers from that three one deficits, Yeah,
(52:57):
that was sick. What the sake about that?
Speaker 3 (53:00):
Man?
Speaker 2 (53:01):
That was? That was as I still forgive a Daryld
Donkey to call will Joe for that bull Jo.
Speaker 3 (53:09):
Help he hears that. It was one of the toughest
series that I ever played. And and Shannon, I know
you always talk about Joe and O Joe. You guys
always talk about what you do the way you did.
But if you've ever been I so on one on
one with doctor j on the right right hand side
(53:29):
of the lake, and you had eight thousand people starting
to stand up. All you say the way something bad,
something bad about half. So so I've been in them
pressure situations.
Speaker 2 (53:39):
I know what it's like.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
But you're playing the Sixers and playing during those times
during the eighties, and and watching.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
Joe play, and then the NBA now today it's changed
from it. But where I thought it was. But tonight's
game was more about the eighties. This was physical. That's
the game. I'm knocking you around.
Speaker 3 (53:59):
This is what I loved about the game, and it
seems like it always reverts back to that at the
end of the day. The game reversed back to the
physical play of the teams. And also he also it's
a testament to the refs too. Somebody has to allow
them boys to play. I'm not sure if they got
the refs telling the rest listen, letting the boys play.
Speaker 4 (54:20):
Obviously in this series, don't interfere in the game, don't
infit in the game unless it's an.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
Absolute foul and it just has to be called. Let
it be physical. You don't see no blood.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
You don't see no blood, ain't nothing that was then
I saw I saw that with Magic. I saw that worthy.
You know, during the eighties, that's when they had they
put in the lake rip foul because of the Laker
Celtic series. What you did that boy job with with
with Kevin mcka snatched Kurt Rabbits sayings out in the sky.
Speaker 2 (54:55):
You just bending for the rest of the season with
them type of foul. Nowadays they were y'alls way lamp beer. Hey,
you remember when lamb Beer came down to the bird? Yeah? Yeah, ye.
Speaker 3 (55:06):
You remember when you remember when Parris functioned about three
or four times in the face that that's that was
Kobe Bryant, God rest is soul. He was the one
last dude that got the two peaks christ it hit
and and dudes now they.
Speaker 2 (55:22):
Ain't gonna fight. They don't want to know.
Speaker 3 (55:26):
I could tell you like this, it was just like
yesterday when I think about the Lakers, and I said
this last time I was on your show, I wouldn't
give a Magic was walking across the street right now
and six dogs were chasing him. I wouldn't call anybody.
I'd get my damn phone out and damn take pictures
of That's that's how you and all them guys I
(55:52):
hate those guys, Joe, you and not playing in the air. Well,
we didn't change yours and and shen you played in
the era. Now you see guys after a game, they
all holding up the other guy's jersey.
Speaker 2 (56:03):
God just kicked your ASDs. You hold up in jersey? Yeah, hey, look,
you couldn't hear no jersey. You don't got three picks
on me. You think I would? Hey, man, let me
get that jersey. Hell no, I don't want it.
Speaker 4 (56:14):
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on corn Bread,
back back back then, Bread, when y'all was playing in
the eighties, did y'all y'all run friends outside of the
game of basketball? He'll know, man, we first of all, Ojoe,
we ain't hand no damn cell phones, so we know
we couldn't get a guy's phone number.
Speaker 2 (56:30):
And I didn't know a guy like that. I didn't
want to know. And I'll tell you what I didn't do, Joe.
Speaker 3 (56:35):
This is what I didn't do. Oh, Joe, this is
what I didn't do. I wasn't going to pray with
another guy before chop or or doing that.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
I wasn't doing that. He better pray. I don't hit
him in the back of something.
Speaker 3 (56:46):
That's what I had to have a head, bro, I
didn't believe all that, Like, well, my brother were gonna
do the noue. And that's why I respect. What Dreaymond
Green does from time to time crosses the line. And
he had with me during the series where they played
this othern when he kicked Jaylen Brown in the head,
(57:07):
and I just have him to tell it. I said
it on the air, said if he didn't been during
during the eighties, and that would have happened. Oh somebody wanted,
somebody would to find his ass up. But but what
he does now, Dudes, don't do that. Joe. You know
there was a thing if you follow the guy, if
you file the guy hard, you knew what was gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (57:25):
You knew what you knew who was coming off the bench,
and you go down for the layup. You already knew
what was gonna happen. It's too much money to lose now, bread, Damn,
I ain't throwing no punches. He does make so much
money nowadays.
Speaker 3 (57:37):
They get suspended for ten fifteen games, that's four five
million dollars.
Speaker 2 (57:41):
Yeah, I get you about to go gay, bro, Hey,
don't do that. No more man.
Speaker 3 (57:47):
But I don't want to do that. I don't want
to I don't want to lose this. But I don't
want to lose this, buddy, He shouting, Why shouting up?
Why are you saying that?
Speaker 2 (57:54):
You know you?
Speaker 3 (57:55):
I that that thing that showed me who you were.
I've seen you play football before show moved.
Speaker 2 (58:01):
You were playing football. But that thing you did when
you were in l A at that game, that adn't
tell me nothing. What things about losing money?
Speaker 3 (58:08):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (58:09):
No, whether the thing was though, like when we played
back when I came up, Oh, you cheap shot what
I got? Oh, We're gonna get your ass back. Don't
worry about don't you worry about it?
Speaker 4 (58:18):
Hey car bred, Hey uncle about to come up by
that at that sweater man A thousand dollars cardigan he
had on that's where it was hold on.
Speaker 2 (58:34):
Bread. How much it was four thousand? He told us.
He said there was four thousand dollars. So you know,
you know he was in He was in Beverly Yields.
That's why it was. He wasn't shopping like me. I
go to the door rat, That's why I go.
Speaker 3 (58:49):
He was he was like he was in the real Lord,
he was in Beverly Hill some place, or Dale drive
by something like that.
Speaker 2 (58:55):
I don't even know where you find him like that
the first time Dollar Cardigan. I ain't ever heard of that.
Who that was about? Uncle made that? Ain't nobody made it?
Man the volume mm hm
