Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, So it is the day after Jake Paul

(00:02):
versus Juliosaeser Chavez Junior.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
My voice is damn near gone.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
We just had one of the best streams I've had
in a very long time, about eighteen hours. Supposed to
have been twenty four, but we had some technical difficulties.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Thank you everybody that showed up and showed out. It
was me, my lady.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
It was fun reactions. We had a blast. The entire
stream was awesome, So thank you.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Guys for that.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
But today let's talk about the Jake Paul and Juliosayser
Chavez Junior fuck, because the truth is, I learned a
lot from this fight, just not in the way you
would think. With all the things going on online right
now and people having their opinions about.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
This, I think mine's a little different, which tends to
be the case.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
But let me explain the breakdown. Let's go, all right,
So Jake versus Chavez Junior. This fight I thought would
be a learning opportunity for Jake, for me, for the fans,
for everybody to just answer the question I think everybody
always wants to ask with Jake, what is his ceiling?
Can he realistically keep growing in the sport. Has he plateaued?
Has he hit the peak of what he's going to

(01:00):
be in boxing? And the answer is a little complicated.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I don't know. The answer is still a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Ambiguous to me, and that's mostly because of how this
fight went down. And I want to start off by
saying this entire event was a banger for MVP, for
his zone. It was a great event from top to bottom.
We had Floyd Schofield knocking out Tevin Farmer in the
first round, who had that on their Bengo card. Floyd
is bat Abius Griffin gets stopped by Julian Rodriguez in

(01:25):
the last seconds of the last round. That was a
huge moment for Julian Rodriguez. Co main event, Zordo Ramirez
did not look as indestructible and is undeniable to be
in a fight with Jaio Patiah as I thought potentially
he would have coming into this. Dordakos made him look
very human and we'll talk about that in a little bit,

(01:46):
But for the most part, everything came down to this
main event and Jake Paul and Chavez Junior.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
One guy performed.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
One guy did what he was supposed to do brought
the fight in and one guy just did it. And
if I'm talking about Jake Paul and a former world champion,
you'd think that what I'm at to say favors the
former world champion. And then you realize I'm talking about
Chiavez Junior, and then you say, no, well, okay, we
have to flip those because Chavez Junior is known for
disappointing on the biggest stage, and that's what happened again here.

(02:12):
I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in watching
Chavez Junior over the first one, two, three, four, five rounds,
throw a total of thirty six punches. I didn't say land,
That's not what I said.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I said throw.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Chivez Junior threw thirty six punches over five rounds, and
out of the thirty sixty through he landed eight eight
punches through five rounds, fifteen through six, twenty through seven,
he landed twenty punches through seven rounds. For comparison, Jake
landed twenty two punches in the first two rounds. This

(02:49):
was an absolutely shameful performance from Julio Sazer Chiavez Junior,
and I don't even want to start talking about Jake's
performance until we really lock in and understand how bad
Chavez looked and how he essentially just gave away rounds
in lieu of what just allowing Jake to win the
first six rounds of the fight and in his mind going, oh, now,
Jake will get tired. I never understand this strategy from fighters.

(03:10):
If it's over two or three rounds and you're trying
to get a guy to, you know, punch himself out
and then come on late, that's fine. But this is
a ten round fight. You give away the first six,
you've already lost. Even if you win the last four.
The whole strategy is I gotta knock Jake out in
the last three rounds. You shouldn't take the fight because
that's not a winning strategy and everyone knows it. That's
not how this works. And I'm glad Jake buried him.
I am I'm glad Jake went and just destroyed him

(03:33):
on every punch stat possible. I don't know what I expected.
I shouldn't have expected anything different. I get that this
is Chavez Junior.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
This is what he does. The end of the day.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
It's still disappointing because, quite frankly, I didn't give a
shit about how Chavez Junior looked. I wanted to see
what it looked like when Jake was pushed back again,
right the Tommy Fury thing. I wanted to see what
it looked like when Jake was met with volume again.
The big thing that really gives Jake problems is someone
opening up with a jab and throwing volume.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
And he threw eight jabs in the fight. Eight. I
told you what would happen if he came out and
did this.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I told you if he didn't throw a jab, if
he didn't set anything up and he just walked in
behind the high guard, he was gonna get taken to
the woodshed.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
And that's exactly what happened.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
He deserves it, and I just get so frustrated because
I want to see Jake do well. I do just
like I want to see kayas I do well. I
want to see all the people that came from the
crossover space that are coming into boxing. Quie frankly kind
of exposing at points, how if you just work hard
in this sport, you don't have to be a fantastic
athlete to go in and do things and move up
in the sport. Chivez Junior is just another example of

(04:33):
someone that has taken for granted his space, his ability,
and his name in the sport, and Jake made him
pay for it, completely embarrassed him. I mean, chive has
embarrassed himself here. He got paid fair play, but whatever.
On the other side of things, the thing I want
to talk about more is Jake's performance.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
I'll be honest first and foremost.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
I didn't see much different here out of Jake than
I normally see from him. This is a Jake Paul
versus Mike Perry esque performance, although Mike Perry was a
little more game than Chives you was, and he got
stopped because of that. If you want to say, hey, listen,
Chavez didn't want to get knocked out, so he played
it pretty safe and then came on strong in the
later round. He landed one more punch in the ninth
round than Jake did, and one more punch in the

(05:10):
tenth round than Jake did, And sure he won those
rounds and he outlanded Jake with big time power in
round nine. It was his best round again, so what
and reestimated Jake's chin and again it wasn't something that
surprised me at all for Chavez Junior to look to
win moments right and play the uh you know, I
brought it all at the end of the fight card,
which we've seen before. This is not surprising, but in
those moments you did get to see Again, what does
give Jake a little bit of problems is when you

(05:32):
do have some volume and you are able to push
him back a little bit and make him more defensive.
I think Jake's got a better chin than people realize.
Even when he gets hit with stuff, he's firing back.
But you saw in the eighth, ninth, and ten rounds
Jake was slowing down a bit. He was getting a
little more tired, and I understand why he was throwing
damn near fifty punches around thirty nine and one, fifty
and two, forty six and three, fifty and four, fifty

(05:53):
and five, fifty four and six, forty nine and seven,
fifty four and eight, fifty and nine, forty and ten.
The guy threw four hundred and eighty two punches. That's
a pretty damn good output for what he was given.
I mean again, one thing I guess I can give
Chavez JUnit in this fight was he's tough as he's
tough as nails. But again on the side of Jake
and stuff, we learned Jake was going to the body.
He was looking to land that smashing right hook to

(06:13):
the body, the jab down there as well.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
Again, Chavez with his high.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Guard was given Jake problems because Jake really likes to
go to his overhand right. And again, part of the
reason I say Jake looked a little bit of the
same in this fight and I didn't see, you know,
a skyrocket improvement, is because I've seen the same kind
of setups and some of the same kinds of deliveries
out of his right hand that I've seen in the past.
And again, boxing isn't just you know, you get better
and then rocket ship and then Plateau rocket ship, Plateau

(06:40):
rocket ship. You do get progressively better as you do
this sport. So maybe I'm expecting a little too much
out of Jake a little too soon. I do have
to remember he had basically no amateur career. But I
just didn't see that next wrinkle on the offensive side
from Jake. He was doing stuff that I've seen him
do before. He was catching when Julio would throw his
jab encountering with one of his own. He was to

(07:00):
the body than upstairs. He was taunting and faint and
given decent looks. It was just when I saw the
delivery system of the punches, I saw a lot of
what Jake has done in the past has been successful,
but I think needs to be cleaned up for him
to continue to grow again. The overhand rider or the
right hook upstairs. He has a great right hook to
the body, but when he goes upstairs with it, he
tends to kind of fade to his left. He tends

(07:21):
to kind of overthrow it, pick up his back foot
like it's a baseball pitch, and just wing. I think
that's something that you know, to his credit or to
his detriment, however you want.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
To look at it.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
It happens because if you'll watch Jake fight, when he jabs,
when it's in one two, he will jab sliding to
his left. And yes, that's something that to change the
angle of attack, as something to keep yourself off center line.
He is sliding into the powerhand of You know, if
there is a big puncher with their right hand, Jake's
gonna slide right into it. I think something be way
more effective and a very small little test case of

(07:51):
myself I've seen to be more effective, and I've seen
obviously from watching for years now, is that Jake attacked
straight with that jab with his head off center line,
bang bang, That right hand wouldn't take as much effort
to throw across his own body because he's not moving
away from it.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Instead, he's moving into it.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
It's sitting down in that pocket and get in his
head off the center line, but not fading as he
does it. I'm just I've seen it so many times.
Jake's struggling to land that right hand. Yes, because Chavez
Junior had the high guard, and I did see Jake
at points go to the uppercut. I saw him go
jab upstairs, jab downstairs and trying to go right hand
to the body as well.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
I wish that Jake would.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Have thrown more straight punches through the guard again that
high guard here, split it then open it up with
the upper cutter the right hand. It was just things
like that because Jake is strong, right, He's a big guy,
and stuff like that where I think Jake can make
major improvements, and I just I haven't seen him take
that next step yet. One big thing from Jake. That
did stand out to me as his biggest weapon and
s been this way in the past as well, is

(08:50):
his jab. His jab is very very good. Jake is
great with the timing on it. He finds different places
to put it. He can throw it from different angles.
He has his regular jab and he'll drop low and
bang hit you with an up jab and no get
off center line, boom hit you with.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
That jab as well. Those things were very good to
see and overall he was pretty.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Consistent with it. He threw three hundred jabs in this fight.
That is impressive as to me. Again when you consider
that Chivez Junior through twenty eight and landed eight and
if we take a look at some of the handywork,
this is what I'm talking about. Here's an angle from
some of the shots that landed and then Jake Paul fight.
You see the jab upstairs, the right hand underneath, and
again he's coming into range till that backfoot comes off

(09:28):
the ground. And it's what I'm talking about when I
say Jake overthrows his right hand to a degree. Sometimes
when he throws this right hand to the body, yes,
you do have to get there, which means.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Your head is going to have to come off center line.
But overthrowing. This means when he's done throwing.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
If that shot doesn't push Chavez Junior back, which you
know here it does because Chavez was super defensive. The
right hand is coming over the top right from from
somebody looking to counter Jake off that body shot. Boom boom,
that's coming over the top, and Jake is right there
to meet it if someone does throw the right hand back.
Jovez didn't right there, but this right here was beautiful.
This is a beautiful set up. Uppercut right jab to

(10:01):
the body. He sees that this guard is closed, so
instead of continuously throwing this overhand across the top, he
decides that uppercut.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
In between beautiful punch.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
These were the shots that when you looked at Jake
last night you said, that's some improvement. And again we're
talking about the stuff that Jake did well. This was
it jab to cover all of the sight of Julio
Saeser Chavez Junior and to gain range right You see
him gain range right here, not leaving his feet behind him.
And I think when he did this with his right
hand he was far more successful because look at when
he throws this right hand.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Look at that.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Yeah, the fuck comes off the ground a little bit,
But look how much momentum we have into that thing
versus trying to fade to our left, off the jab
and throw.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
The right hand.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
We're stepping into that name. Boom boom over the top.
That's when Jake was way more effective with his right hand.
Good stuff and again a good right hand. This was
not a bad shot, but look where he's stepping. This
is when he had the most success. He's stepping straight
in behind that jab.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Boom.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Touch you with that one, and Chavez Junior gets his
hand up right behind the glove from Jake chopping right hand.
But here's an example of one where I think Jake
is taking himself away from his power.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Watch him set this jab up.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
He's trying to walk in, but he's walking a little
bit to his left, and when he tries to throw
this right hand around the guard, he's off balance and
he can't get back to balance until that one right there.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Right. If you want to say this is all set
up shot to get to the last one.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Then fine, But he has to almost work against himself
to get back to the right hand.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Right hands a little off balance.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
We're come back with the left hook, and I got
to get back to balance with a right hand. But
here we see some pressure. He goes left hook, right hand,
right hand. Jake comes back right hand to the body
and he's exchanging with him. Those were very few and
far between moments that I wanted to see more of.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Not because I wanted.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
To see Jake getting hit and get hurt, because I
wanted to see how he would react when the fire
is coming. Right when he is in the fire and
he's got to either show us that newfound defense his footwork,
slide away or bite down on that mouthpiece, give us
some level change, exchange.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Boom, catch boom, boom, boom, and back to it. That's
what I wanted to see more of.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
And I just I feel a little bit robbed, not
by Jake but by Chavez Junior that we did not
get that. So that's what I think about the Jake fight.
I think that I didn't learn too too much that
I didn't already know. I've seen this version of Jake
and the Mike Perry fight. I think there are a
couple things he did better.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I thought he was.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Again more reliant on his jab instead of just looking
to power, which I've wanted to see from in the past.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
So there's that.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Jake was very good with his lead hand, He's very
good with his body punching. But other than that, I
saw some mistakes that I've seen from Jake in the past,
and I would still hope he would need to improve
before he hits the top level. But after the fight,
he got in the post fight presser and got in
the post fight interview, and it started to call out
Zorto Ramirez, the current WBA and WBO cruiserweight champion of
the world. And listen, Jake has always said he wants

(12:57):
to become a world champion. After this fight, apparently he
is going to be ranked for some reason. I don't
understand how he would get a ranking off beating Chavez Junior,
but he's going to probably be ranked, and they're looking
to set up a Zorto versus Jake fight. Here's a
face off from the press conference after the fight.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
So Jake says, you're a good fighter, You're just slow.
You need to speed up.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
And I'll be honest, did not look good against Dordikos.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
And not to say that Jake's.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Performance versus Chavez is anywhere on the same competitive level
as Dordikos versus Ramirez, but Zorta was a minus one
thousand favorite. He won the fight, but he didn't win
the fight in a fashion that a lot of people
expected him to win this fight, which was to be
able to outclass Dordicos and and consistently pull away from
him as the fight went on.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
He did look slow, He looked flat footed.

Speaker 1 (14:02):
He looked all of two hundred and twenty pounds for
a cruiserweight fight. This is a guy that used to
fight at super middleweight, looking like he ate the guy
that fought at super middleweight.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
I mean, he is huge two hundred and twenty.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
On fight night for a fight that was at two
hundred pounds. He's massive, and that weight is slowing him down.
Jake is right about that, But I just don't think
Jake's performance versus Javas Junior one warrants a title shot.
And that's just me being honest. Like, sure, it would
draw a ton of eyeballs as far as the sport
is concerned. Give me another reason why it makes sense
for Jake to fight Zoro Ramirez or Badu Jack or

(14:36):
Jaio Pataio. I don't think that Jake is there when
it comes to Zorto yet, and I don't want to
hear people being like, oh, Zorto will smash him, knock
him out cold all that. Again, Zorto is not a
massive puncher like that, and Jake Shannon's far better than.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
I think people give him credit for.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
But I would expect Zorto to outclass him, to outbox him, sure,
for no doubt about it, Which is why I don't
think Jake is ready for that moment just yet. The
most realistic option, the most realistic fight that I think
makes the most sense for Jake, for the fans, for
his progression, for the questions still remaining around his performance,
around what level he's at. It's Tommy Fury. Jake has

(15:11):
lost to him. He's looking to get that lost back.
It would quell all the questions of Jake fighting older fighters,
Jake fighting guys not in his weight class, Jake fighting
him and a guy like whatever, the same things that
the first fight would have quelled had he won. He
needs to get that back, and that is still the
question that's been unanswered since Jake lost to Tommy Fury,
is what does Jake look like when he fights a
similar style to Tommy Fury. We haven't seen a similar

(15:35):
style boxer. Someone that is just as good with their
lead hand or not, if not better than Jake, is
someone that will look to pressure him but do it
behind the jab And I'm not even saying Tommy's an
intelligent jabber. I'm not saying Tommy has incredible ability. All
I'm saying is two things can be true. He is
not super great, but he's good enough to give Jake

(15:55):
problems and beat him, which he did. I need to
see why Jake is so confidite now that if they
did it again, he would, as he said, smoke Tommy,
destroy him, beat him. What makes him so confident? What
has he worked on? How has he fixed what was
wrong in that fight? I need to see it.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I want to see it.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
I can see things that Jake has gotten better at,
but I haven't seen him go against that same style,
and I want to see it because I'll be honest,
I thought Jake was gonna beat Tommy Fury the first time.
When I saw he didn't, it made me question whether
this was going to be Jake's peak or if he
was gonna be able to.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Rise past it. And we still have that question.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Not because Tommy Fury is an all time great, because
Tommy's a world champion, but he definitely fought better than
Chabas Junior did tonight. Davi Junder could be a former
world champion. We can throw that word around all day,
but it didn't make him a great fighter tonight. Jake
is not at world championship level for a guy that's
been boxing for five six years. Sure, with all the money,
with all the training, all that, I.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Get it, he looks better than you expect it.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
But I'm still wondering if he's gonna push past kind
of the peak that I'm seeing in at right now.
Last night did not convince me that he's gotten leaps
and bounds better. It showed me that he understands how
to win fights, show me he's got a decent chin
when it's called upon. Showed me he's got a great
lead hand, and his IQ and shot selection are improving.
But I don't see world level or world champion improvement.
I need to see an opponent that's gonna bring that

(17:08):
out of him or expose it that it's not there.
And I'll say this too, is a last kind of point.
People are saying, oh, cass I kills him. Cass I
kills him. Guys, people that are saying that you got
caught in the moment. You've been a prisoner of the
moment for whatever reason. Anytime Jake fights, these things come up.
But realistically, if you believe ks I destroys Jake in
a fight after watching him last night, I don't know

(17:28):
what to tell you to me, that's not anywhere close
to reality. I don't see him working off a jab enough.
I don't see him throwing enough punches. If Cassi is
to continuously end up in that clinch range with Jake,
I think he'll have to wear the weight of Jake
Moore and pay some of the consequences more in those
positions than Jake was. So I don't know what that is.
I saw it online, so I thought i'd address it.
But that's where I'm gonna leave this. I don't think
Jake is ready for Zorto. I don't think he's ready

(17:49):
for Badu Jack. I don't think he's ready for Anthony Joshua.
I don't think he's ready for Jiobataiah. Whatever did Jamonte fight?
Whatever it needs to be Tommy Feury, white blank period,
for Jake to get the loss back, for us to
see what he looks like with a jab, heavy volume
pressure fighter again, which we haven't seen him deal with
since Tommy, and again just to answer the question, which
is what is his level? Where is he truly at

(18:10):
right now? Chavez Junior did not tell me that. He
didn't push Jake to the point where I said, Okay,
Jake has gotten leaps and bounds better. Jake showed me
what he's gotten better at, but Chavez Junior offered almost
nothing until the last two rounds, and even then those
were close rounds. So what happens next for Jake? Is
it gonna be KSI probably cannot. It should be Tommy Fury,
but it may be this world title fight. Who knows

(18:31):
what they give him next. Again, if it makes dollars,
it makes sense in the world of boxing. So I
don't have those answers, but I guess we'll find out
