Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, so we're back and as you can see,
the studio is undergoing some construction. More on that in
a couple of days. But today, speaking of construction, speaking
of taking things down and replacing them, and quite frankly,
being a little up in the air with what happens next,
I am here to talk to you about potentially the
slow death of influencer boxing. And I don't mean that

(00:20):
to sound disparaging in any way. Always at the end
of videos tell you, guys, I don't have the answers,
but I guess we'll find out.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
And that phrase is never rang more true.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
For influencer boxing than it is right now, because there's
a lot up in the air when it comes to
the future of crossover influencer boxing.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
That I truly don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
We may very well be seeing potentially the beginning of
the air.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Well maybe not.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
There's still a lot up in the air, and maybe
misfits can pick themselves back up. But speaking of picks,
before we get into the breakdown, let me say a
big thank you today sponsor the video Price Pick. That's right, guys,
Price Picks is the best place to win cash while
you watch sports. All you have to do is create
a lineup by downloading the Price Picks app, use code way,
and then pick more or less on some of your

(01:02):
favorite player stats. A baseball season just started, so that
could be home runs for Aaron Judge or Show Hao.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Time we're in the full swing of.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Boxing's resurgence, so you can look at fights that are
coming up with Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney or tia
Fimo Lopez and pick more or less punches on their fight.
And again, it's super simple to start. You put five
dollars down on your first lineup. Price Picks is going
to give you fifty dollars win or lose just for play.
And again, all you have to do is use code
Wade when you sign up. Whether it's baseball, basketball, boxing, MMA,

(01:33):
or anything else you enjoy, Price Picks is the place
to be for all your daily fantasy And again, guys,
Price Picks is supposed to be fun, but there are
sometimes a hobby can turn into an unhealthy activity, and
daily fantasy sports is no exception, So please play responsibly.
Thank you to Price Picks for sponsoring this video. Now
let's get into the literal breakdown of influencer boxing right. So,

(01:56):
like I said, today is an odd day when it
comes to influence in boxing because, as you guys have seen,
the total calamity that was the Ksi Dylan Dannis fight
thatf I was supposed to happen on March twenty ninth
didn't happen, supposed to have been rescheduled for April. Then
Mike Perry went on Aeriel Halwani Show and essentially said, yeah,
they're not rescheduling that. They're trying to look to make
an MMA match between Mike Perry and Dylan Dannis. Happened

(02:19):
as the replacement for Ksi Dylan Dannis, and yes, we.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
All know now cas I was sick. That's why they
canceled the event.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I'm saying the word canceled now like I said it before,
because I did not think there was a good chance
that Misfits was going to be able to reschedule this.
It just didn't seem likely based on the timeline of
events that was about to come down the line. Number one,
they had another event scheduled in April twelfth, that's not
happening on the day either.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
We'll get to that in a second.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Dylan Danis was supposed to have a fight in the
middle of May, So how is that gonna work? KSI
has not looked, sounded and acted like he wants to
fight anytime soon, just based on the way this this
cancelation happened in the quiet kind of nature of how
he's handled it since then, and obviously the lashing out
at me.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
For no reason.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
But the point is it just none of it seemed right.
And there are times in this combat sports game where
when people get quiet, big things are about to happen.
When it comes to cancelations or need for explanation for
why certain events have been postponed or canceled, people start
getting quiet around that stuff. It usually means they don't
have answers, either they're working on something or just things

(03:23):
are not going to get figured out in a timeline
in which they originally thought they were. And that's when
you start to hit the panic button a little bit,
because not only are we not getting the KSI fight
rescheduled with Dylan Danas, we also got KSI saying he
couldn't comment on it, which I don't exactly know what
that means. But we did get an explanation from MAM's
Taylor that I'll read in the second but Dylan Danis again.
I don't know if this is a trusted source, but

(03:44):
Dylan came out and said, sorry, guys, cas I couldn't
recover from the common cold for all of April to
reschedule to fight Degie.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Excuse me.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Degie and Mike Perry declined to fight to save the show,
plus many others.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
It is what it is. We move on.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Can I just say, why in the blue heall with
Degie fight? I love dej You guys know this, but
have we seen him lately? The big boy? And then
the Mike Perry thing. I thought Mike Perry said he
was gonna fight Dylan or he had accepted it, and
then nothing really came of it. I think probably what
happened was Mike Perry wasn't supposed to make public that
he was offered to fight Dylan Dannis because it probably

(04:20):
wasn't set up with the distribution company, who was his
own to get the whole thing done.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
It just it was a complete train wreck.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
That's the main thing you could say about Misfits Unfinished
business is the business.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Never got finished. It was just fell off a cliff there.
And I'm making jokes, but it is very sad.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
It's unfortunate because what you don't want as an influencer
boxing fan, if that is you guys out there, someone
that worked in this scene that I, you know, tend
to think helped the scene grow a little bit as
much as I could. It's sad to see a number
of shows not go well for them in the public
kind of attack and come after them for whether it's

(04:55):
an aptitude or a lack of events or a lack
of explay, just things that keep going wrong for misfits
who is let's be honest, if we're talking influencer boxing,
they are the number one company for it.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
It's not even close. They dominate the scene.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
So I don't relish in telling you guys this hell
out of My channel is based around the crossover boxing
scene and it will to some degree continue to do that.
But it's just an unfortunate.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Situation for all.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
And one thing I will say in the complete shit
storm that was the KSI pull out, the event now
being essentially it canceled, and now on top of that,
we have a postponement of the event planned after the
KSI event. This is Misfits Boxing posting today, Dude to
scheduling issues, Misfits boxing, blinders and brawls. Okay, this is

(05:39):
what they're doing now. Instead of like Misfits twenty one,
it's Misfits like Rage or Unfinished Business or blinders and brawls.
I don't even know as that supposed to mean. Like
tunnel Vision, it's I like the concept. That's pretty cool.
It will now take place on Friday May sixteenth. The
event will still take place at the Valiant Live and
I think people are saying this is Darby the way

(06:00):
they say it in the UK, but Derby is how
I would say it. Purchase tickets will remain valid for
the new date, but any ticket holders wanting a refund
please contact your point of purchase. So again, it's just
not a good thing for Misfits to postpone two events
back to back.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
It shows a.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Little bit of scrambling. I think a lot of the
reason for that is pretty simple. Misfits goes as KSI does,
and really influencer boxing, specifically the influencer side that that
crossover side goes as kside. And when you lose a
massive star like KSI as a main event for a
fight onto Zone, then you essentially lose everything that comes
with that, and that means money that KSI generates.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Not only for Misfits but for his zone.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
That means money allocated from the zone to Misfits to
have a guy like KSI on the card. Let's think
about budgets that a guy like Mams Taylor is gonna
have to work with to bring some of the other
influencer boxing names that you guys want to see, like Assault,
Poppy or even on this car to chase the more
Roman fury. Those people need to get paid, But the

(07:01):
budget relies on one name, three letters, KSI. So when
he does get pulled off the card, I'm sure there's
some sort of agreement between Misfits and his own about
pay per view exclusivity, how much they're willing to spend
based on the fact that KSI is going to be there.
If he's not gonna be there, budget goes down, pay
per views wiped out, and that destroys an entire event.
I'm not even exactly sure why they're postponing the April

(07:23):
twelfth card. I assume it's because of some fallout from
the KSI card. Again, thinking about revenues that were supposed
to have been made from that card, those revenues potentially
used to fund a card like this Blinders and Brawls
card they were going to do essentially one of their
non pay per view ones. They don't have that money generated.
Then it's probably something where they're going to have to

(07:44):
shuffle some things around on that card, potentially some other
stuff as well, And there's potentially other stuff.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
That I just genuinely don't know. I don't work over
at the company.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
All I'm saying is it's a mess when KSI isn't fighting,
or when you know, something like a pullout happens and
it is the only person that you really need on
a card. Ks that can destroy not only that event,
but it can destroy multiple events. And it just takes
a little bit for public interest to wayne. And since
the Prime card, there has been that what's next for

(08:13):
this scene type of feel. Hell I even fought on
the January card and it felt like people were looking
for that next big thing to hold on too, whether
it was Gibb or me or something else. We will
never fill the void of a KSI or a Logan
Paul or anybody else that they can get on that
Prime car. And I think this is probably the start

(08:35):
of the tipping point for influencer box. This is the
point where people are going, what are we still doing?
Is KSI even going to fight? And then the bigger
question should he even fight anymore? Like that's the thing
that I've asked in the last couple of videos, and
with this whole him not rescheduling the.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Dylan Danis fight.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
I know there's the rumor out there of KSI fighting
Julio Sayser Chavez Junior, and even I look at that
and go, okay, yeah, this would be a freaking huge
challenge for him. But again you ask the question why,
what is the point? Is the point to draw money
in numbers? Because KSI can do that with a mailbox
and quite frankly, for public attention, juliosaser Chevez might as
well be a post office bot. But it's a dangerous
fight if he's looking for a test, if he's still

(09:13):
trying to chase that Jake Paul fight, which I guess
if this rumor is true, then that's what it is.
And there was that thing that Turkey Alla Shik said
when him and KSI met about getting KSI a real fight,
essentially on the Alcatraz card, that they're trying to do
later in the summer. If this is what he meant,
then okay, let's run it.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
You know.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
I'm sure there'll be a lot of hype around it,
just because again KSI is fighting, and because Juliosser Chives Junior,
while underwhelming as a professional not even necessarily world level fighter,
would still be a massive test for KSI. I'd be
down to watch it, but I just don't know if
the people that are interested in KSI fighting necessarily care
who it is more so than they care about KSI

(09:51):
just committing to doing it.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
And that's where I have the issue.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
If he is committed to this, I don't know that
he is, and if he isn't, I don't think he
should fight again, because this thing is gonna continuously happen,
whether it's a pull out of a fight or like
I told you guys in a couple videos previously, him
not being prepared for a fight or just something not
happening the right way. Unless you're fully in, it won't happen.
And I'm gonna be honest, I just don't know if

(10:15):
KSI really gives a shit anymore about boxing.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
That's just me personally. I don't think he really gives
a fuck. I don't know. Maybe it's just me reading
too much.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
Into things, but it just seems like when these things
cascade the way they do, you start to fall out
of love with the process because the process has no finish, right.
No one loves training camp. Everybody loves fight night. But
if you're going through training camps not even getting to
fight night over and over, where does the passion keep
coming from If there's no payoff, if there's no result.

(10:44):
I don't know that KSI is super into doing this
when he has everything else flourishing, Sidemen Prime and whatever else.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Is going on.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
One guy will say has stepped up and deserves a
lot of respect for what he's been trying to do.
Even I'll put myself in this has gone after him
deservedly and this influencer scene as Ma'm Stateley, and I
know this from you know, some behind the scenes stuff
that I've spoken to people about.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
He has really, really, really tried.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
To do everything he could, not only to make the
kside versus Dana's fight, you know, happen, or get fighters
to replace KSI, and just try to make something out
of nothing, chicken soup out of chicken shit.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
As the old saying goes, but it just didn't work out.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
I know, he just he works his ass off to
try to please everybody in this scene, and it's just
the reality of combat sports is sometimes that's not gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
It's just a matter.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Of the people you're working with and the talent and
everything else that I hope they can get figured out.
But he put out a message today and essentially told
the people that it's been a hassle the last couple
of weeks, not a great start to twenty twenty five,
that he does believe that Misfits is still in its infancy,
and I agree with him. They do have some bright
points outside of KSI, with the Misfits Pro and other

(11:53):
people like a Mere Cashman and John Ingram and some
of the talent they're signing, there's some light as to
what they can do, especially with the Sourland brothers on
board in the pro boxing scene, how they can make
all that work. There's just a lot on the other
side that most boxing promoters.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Don't deal with.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
People that are influencers that already have money and influence
and fame, that don't necessarily have to box, that maybe
commit to boxing and then don't or say they want
to do something and then don't, so matchmaking becomes that
much more hard, and event planning and all of that.
But essentially he offered an apology and again major respect.
He offered a refund for the Misfits unfinished business card.

(12:32):
He said, sorry, we have not been able to say
anything until now, but refunds will of course be available
for Manchester next week. So that I think is a
sigh of relief for people that did pay for the
Ksideal in Danis event because there was just no word
on what was going to happen to their money that
they paid for the event. It's not happening. What are
we going to do again? MAM's doing his job and
trying to get people the best case scenario possible here. Again,

(12:54):
it's no one's fault. I just want to give MAM's
credit because I know the guy works fucking hard and
he's been trying to give you guys the best shows
he gat. So that brings us to where we are
in influencer boxing. I truly just I don't know. I
don't know, I don't know what happens next, and it
truly does all rely on KSI, because as much as
Misfits is trying to build stars, whether it's Salt Poppy,

(13:15):
whether it's Slim, I don't even know if he's there anymore,
or GiB or even me myself and I I just
none of us equal him as far as the influence,
as far as the fandom, as far as the ability
to sell tickets and run the business. So it really
just depends on how badly KSI wants to fight, and
speaking of the business, that also goes for the Misfits

(13:35):
in his own relationship. Listen, I don't know anything more
than anybody else, but I have to assume if KSI
is not fighting, what happens to that five year deal
that Misfits in his own had, because you have to
think there was some level of guarantees of KSI pay
per views, of generation of money you fund these other
smaller cards, all that stuff. If he's not fighting, goes away,

(13:56):
and you think that has to affect the relationship between
those TWOI is just taking a little break. And then again,
whatever he was talking about with Turkeylla shake happens in
the summer. Maybe you get him back in June July.
I assume that that's when he would be available anyway,
with all the stuff going on in the next month
or two months with him and not only Misfits but
Turkey Ella Shake and Vital Fury and.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
The Ring magazine and all that stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
But the reality is there is no other solution in
influencer boxing other than YESI has to fight if he
doesn't fight, and they haven't created a new lane for
generation of pay per view or just money to fund
the company to fund influencer boxing, to build the relationship
between them and the broadcaster. It's the only place I'll

(14:40):
kind of push back on MAMS a little bit here.
I don't know that they can last a decade long.
Like he says in this suite where he says Misfits
is still in its infancy. We're two and a half
years into a decade long plan. I don't know how
long that plan goes for it PSI is not available,
or they can't get matchups like they almost had with
Tommy Fury and Darren Till that could be a potential
sustain a bull model for the influencer crossover boxing. If

(15:02):
you can bring people into Misfits that are not KSI
but have the influence of a big name and either
in the boxing scene or in the MMA scene that
come and have these massive events, then you know, things
can absolutely change. But as of right now, it stands
that it's KSI or bust, and without him, I just
I don't know how long this train goes on. That's

(15:23):
a sad thing to say, because I don't want to
see that. I want to see influencer boxing have that
decade long relevancy that MAM's wants. I want for his
sake and you know, for the growth of everything else
and for you guys, the fans and the fighters that are.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
Gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
I want that and I always have, and I don't
know if that's ever gotten lost in translation because of
little petty beefs here and there. But the end of
the day, I've always wanted this scene to succeed because
as it goes, everybody else does, and I want to
continue covering it. I do enjoy the circus aspect of
it to a degree, as long as you know we're
doing safe fights and everything's regulated.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
I like it. It's different, and I never wanted to
be someone that pointed down on it and said.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
That's what you get or haha, I look at all
the goof shows, because this is something that allowed me
to have a platform, and I want to make sure,
and I've tried to for so long give back to
it in a way that helps it grow or helps
sustain it. So it's an unfortunate situation. I can only
say that as far as it's lifespan. I hate to
say it, but it's true. The phrase I always bring
you holds even truer now than maybe it ever has.

(16:24):
I don't have those answers, but a lot like my
set is under construction and things are about to change
in a very big way. I think misfits and influencer
boxing and crossover boxing need to do the same because
in the combat sports business, it's always been whether it's
a company or a champion and challenger, step up or
step aside, whether in the ring or outside of it,

(16:44):
it is always if you get knocked down, you better
get back up.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Can misfits do that?

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Can I finally finish what I've been working on for
a very long time. I don't have those answers, but
well I do for one, and you'll see it very soon.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
What do I mean? Will find out
