Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you're an inspiring rapper and you know you have
the flavor in potential to make dope records, you don't
need to go in the studio and spend crazy cash
to make a fly demo. You don't even need a
four track, just two turntables in the microphone, press record
on the tape deck and you're good to go. Big
is living proof of this fact. His DJ hitman fifty
grin during a couple of classic breaks and instrumentals and

(00:23):
let Big do what he had to do. He ripped
shit straight out of Brooklyn, New York. The heavy set brother.
Big has mad skills. His rhymes are fatter than he is.
All four of his gems were basically a freestyle exhibition. Obviously,
to come out as an MC takes a lot more
of the hype rhymes, but rhyme skills are the main
ingredient to true success in hip hop, and when it

(00:44):
comes to those, BIG's got plenty. This was the column
for the Sources Unsigned Hype, written in nineteen ninety two
by the legendary Maddie C. The rest for Big, as
they say, was history today. On the what We're Doing,
All versions of unsigned and signed Hype too. What's up, guys,
and welcome to what hip Hop Questions, Legends and list.

(01:05):
I'm nihilist Amon, and I'm the man that puts the
jucks in juxtaposition. I was Jones, Well I did it,
you did? You did it? Right? I know I at
this point I do it to you. I don't met
you up. I just don't you know what I actually
really look forward to say. Mine just isn't flavorful though.
I'm nihilist, like, I just need you gotta help me come.

(01:26):
I think you you work as the clean person. No,
I like, yeah, but I'm saying, but you work as
a clean person. I'm not smoke right, Okay, he's saying
I can't have any flavor. That's not what I'm not
as big as Biggie, so I can't kid man. No,
I really enjoyed that intro me too. This is what

(01:49):
I get. This is what I got into podcast before. Right,
He's like that, I think, I think, um, you know,
obviously the Source was a central for a highlighting upcoming
artists and just things like the five mic and just
having things like that. We don't really have that anymore
in our culture. I guess gatekeeping we don't have that. Yeah,

(02:11):
for a lot of reasons. I think it's for a
lot of reason gate keeping number one. Number two. I
just think people's interests or the way they um express
interest is dwindle um. And I think as much as
it's gatekeeper, everybody, everybody has an opinion, but not in
the machine anymore. And when I say the machine, like,

(02:32):
you know, there's print journalism and think that nature, I
think now they go to it's like the so yes gatekeeping.
But then I think on the opposite end of that
spectrum is anti gate keeping, which is why we have
so many hip hop blogs and you know, you have
so many people that have a saying that people would

(02:53):
you know, UM look up to and go to instead
of um going to these print publications. Right. That's why
I just think it is like even what you like,
I think you're a part of that, you know what
I mean, Like people now come to you, especially now
that you're doing you know, pass the orcs on the
breakfast club every Sriday, boom boom boom, hey bok pda tapping. Yeah,

(03:16):
I'm actually really happy about it. I um it's cool
because I will say I've always enjoyed like shouting out
new artists and like listening to submissions and stuff like that.
But even like with the day Law feedback that I
got shouts Darren when I said, um, I've been listening
to Daylight, So I thought I was gonna get shunned
honestly by the hip hop community, like you're just now

(03:37):
finding out about it the rest. That's why Sam was like, wow,
I'm like, what shore wowing for it? But he was like, no,
I'm happy that. I'm like, oh oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think I think this moment with Daylight so I
think I said this before, like it's it's what all
this is about, right, It's about this is why ds
fees and so important, and this is what it's all about.

(03:58):
Being able to reintroduce or introduce people fully to these
artists that and you know, because I think because they
were they weren't on DSPs and only for such a
long time, some people only knew you know, me myself
and Die and Buddy. It's like you get to meet

(04:18):
these people or at least their catalog and full so
now you fully get to embrace Daylie soul in their impact.
And I think some of my favorite parts of music,
especially when I'm listening to older music, some of my
favorite parts are being able to you know, kind of
suspend myself in that moment and kind of feel like
what it felt like to hear this the first time

(04:38):
it was released. I get that when I listened to
a certain it's like there's certain albums I listened to
almost specifically for that feeling to like be like, hmm,
what was it like? Can I put myself in the
mindset of what it was like when this dropped and
not my first time hearing it? So, you know, I
don't know if other people listen to music like that.
If they do, then that's just another music that paints

(05:01):
the picture for you exactly. That's what nads is Elmatic
does for me in there. It really does. It really
makes me feel like I was in Queensbridge in the nineties.
When you listen to that project, you can at least
say that you don't have to say you love nas
you can say Darren No. I mean, I think even
what you're talking about with hip hop curation, right, you know,

(05:24):
DJ's and hip hop journalists were the only two roles
that can used to like bring music to people that
alert introduce people to tribe call quests. You know, I don't.
I don't want to say this and like discredit Dayla
in any way, but I almost feel like more older

(05:45):
projects should be like reintroduced on DSPs because there's a
lot more you know what I mean. Like even I mean,
I'm a big Queen Latifa fan, but Queen Latifa got
a lot of great projects, even outside just hip hop
jazz projects, and just her catalog is Dupe is probably
one of my favorite jazz projects. Smooth, It's so smooth.

(06:08):
But I think, like a lot of older artists, especially
during the year of hip hop fifty, I think a
lot of projects should be reintroduced, have a party, and
like push them on DSPs, just for the new generation.
Yeah yeah. Editors, yeah, hip journalists, Yeah yeah. Hip hop
journalists like Minyao did the Five, Mike's Filmatic, right, Sasha Jenkins,

(06:31):
Elliott Wilson, They all used to do reviews and talk
about who you should be listening to. Miss in government
names here. Well, I don't think she wasn't going by
miss info back then, right, I think she went by Manias.
I'm sorry, but yeah, I mean that that was a
time when you look to these magazines to tell you
what to listen to. But now Instagram has brought a

(06:54):
new level of people telling you what you should do.
And obviously social media obviously you know what you're doing,
pasting Snyder, you know, telling people what to be listening.
That's what we were doing on this show. It's just
telling people what we think. Who we think is the
what's next? List? All right, So I am super excited
about today. Why are you so excited because I'm here

(07:16):
with you that end, Because we talk about the who's who,
the what and the whose end. It's literally called the
what's next call the what's next. Yeah, I want you
to stop trying to push your narratives. All right, all right,
I'm being silly. I'm being silly. But no, I'm excited

(07:38):
because we're talking about who's next in music, and um,
this is something that I always find fun because I'm
invested in artists and watching artists. Girl, I've seen a
lot of people come and go. Actually, somebody that I'm
going to mention today has been a big fan of you, Mouse,
and we were talking about you yesterday. So I'm excited
to unleash this name on you. But I want to

(08:00):
introduced our guests will be joining us because you know,
we are both East Coast natives, so I didn't want
our list to be biased, so I called my girl
from the West. We got Gena views tapping in and
enjoining us on the But what's up, gee? What's the video?
How you feeling pretty good? It's raining out here, but

(08:20):
it's cool. Yeah. Yeah, it's um swing here, so we
feel you. Yeah, but um yo, we're glad to have
you on today's discussion. All right, so let's get straight
into it. We're each gonna go around and just give
our picks of who we think is gonna take over
and dominate in twenty twenty three, And as the guests,

(08:43):
we'll start with you, Gie. All right. I know you
said y'all don't want to be biased, but I'm gonna
be biased because, as we um, I think he's gonna
take over. I'm so proud of him. This last project
you dropped last year was freaking amazing, so I know
this year he coming even harder. Um saying with blue bugs, Junia,

(09:07):
can you repeat that name? Who? Who's Klin for real?
For real? Halin for real? For real? I like Klin,
He's really I'm not mad at that Calin for real,
for real, I like him. That's that he's a part
of that West Coast down that I like a lot.
So yeah, hmm okay, and he'd be talking to the

(09:30):
p alright, alright. They took that out of R and
B because now everybody only singing about drugs, like we
got to bring relationships back to R and B. Well,
he's not arm B, so Halin's army. He's not RMB
at a hole like he's a hip hop artist. He
do a little bit of both. Know he do a
little bit because vote a little bit stream. That doesn't

(10:00):
it doesn't matter, you don't. Nellie didn't rap either, but
he wasn't R and B. He did give us some
R and B joints. Though Nellie made me one the lemma,
all right, bro ya got it all right to tell
me that Kaylin's not RMB. I'm not gonna tell you anything.
You got it, Yeah, got it? Go ahead, Okay, I
would say I like Kaylin. I think we all like

(10:24):
I think Kaylin does do some R and B joints.
It's okay to be versatile in twenty twenty three. It's
also okay to properly uh, label Music, but has not
dropped a rap song, So I don't know why he
hasn't dropped. He hasn't dropped the RMB song either. I
think he's Never Lose You is a hip hop song. Uh,
it's a hip hop song. He no never Think, never

(10:48):
Lose You, Never Lose You is a hip hop song.
The entire the entire song, from start to finish. Okay,
all right, you know what I always want to get
into it. Whether Kaylyn is rap hip hop, Kaylyn is
gonna have a year twenty twenty three. I can see that.

(11:09):
I think whether he's wrap hip hop R and B,
I'm a Kaylin fan. I'm here for it. I guess
I'm gonna keep it R and B, and I'm gonna
go with Alex Vaughn. Alex Vonn is alight. Yeah, I
love Alex Vaughn. She's on tour right now with Ari Lennox.
That's how you know she's real R and B. And
she's also dropping the deluxe in her tape, The Hurt

(11:31):
Book this Friday, and it got Summer Walker on it,
it got money Long on it, and it got bo
Ari Lennox. Yeah, So definitely, I think Alex Vonn is
one of those ones to be watching this year. She's
so full, she's dope, she got dope swag and you know,
I love nineties R and B and I think she

(11:52):
gives that, So I'm gonna give it to her. Yeah.
You know, that's that's home team right there. Shout out
to DJ Money, shout to Justice, shout out to the
whole you know, LVR and team over there. Um. Yeah,
that that tour alone is absolutely insane. Like if anyone
was worried about R and B or it's it's the
state of R and B. Those women on that tour

(12:14):
got it like it's Ari, it's Alex, It's I forgot Jalen,
like all three of them, and they support each other.
I just love seeing the support around Um Alex just
from seeing like money long and Summer and are everybody's
supporting it. So yeah, I think if there's a year
for her to have a breakout yet this this would

(12:34):
I would love to see it for her this year.
So I love that pick for you. I love it. Yeah, Okay, cool, Next,
well I also had Alex, so I will wipe that
one off. You can share, you can share a top five, right, Um,
but I'm gonna keep in New York right here. This
this is a pick. This is people are gonna get upset,

(12:54):
I Spice. I think she don't go nowhere. I think
she gets she's getting better. She's actively like we're watching
somebody get better each performance right now. I don't know
if that means she's gonna have like an album or
a tape that drops this year. And I'm like, but
she's not going anywhere because she's getting better. And as

(13:15):
she's getting better, she's finding more ways to tap into
that audience. The like Ice Spice is who the people
looking the people who who are worried about, like the
kids and not having a TRL or having you know,
a videos show to circumvent hip hop through or things through.
That's who you got. The kid's lover her And like

(13:38):
I said, she's just getting better. Like that her verse
on that um that boy's a liar. I couldn't. I
wouldn't think she could do that. I heard it. I'm
like another gimmick. Now, I'm like what you say, if
you just look at I was breaking that verse down
for I was breaking that verse down for somebody the

(13:59):
other day and they were like, or I ain't look
at it like that. But she's getting back I saw
you too, lyrics and I can't sleep, I can't sleep
without you. And again she's tweeting Ice spice. She's doing
what needs to be done. You think about that verse, right,
You think about that verse she starts the verse or
very as you expect, expect the hip hop girl like
f him and is he to? First of all, even

(14:21):
the fact that she was able to open up the
ball like that, that's a scheme that she couldn't have
done before six seven months ago. She couldn't have that
scheme six seven months ago. She opens out talking crazy,
but then at the end of the record, what happened?
She softens up, gets vulnerable. But that mean we just
like a New York girl? Is there a problem with that? No,

(14:46):
somebody women be too tough. You can't be tough all
the time. Sometimes you gotta just be She's a New
York woman. Whatever that's on my way. I think the
only critique is, is she too? Is she too blown
at this point about to say she's already? No? I
think I think I think she needs she's a she's
a pariah right now, She's a she's a hip hop pariah,

(15:07):
hip hop feening. You see her, that's the look, it's
the hair, it's the viral records, So you don't know
if it's you don't know if it's Yeah, I think
this is she needs a few more records to solidify that.
And don't you think do you think she's sticking? Um?
I think I Spice is already a headliner, So I
don't think that she's like up next. I think she's

(15:28):
already on. Yeah. Yeah, I think two things could be
true at the same She means like she could care
in her world she is a headliner headlining. What if
it's her and the girl that she didn't take? What
who's the girl she didn't take? Yeah, she would be
the headliner and on stage. No, I'm when I think

(15:51):
a headline, I'm like, no one, you're thinking Travis Scott. Yeah,
I'm thinking Kodak. So I know, like, like, if I've
been told by Ice Spice fans that I sleep from
her catalog and she's been having hits and we just
now getting hit to her, I mean, yeah, I would
expect that from somebody's fan basis. Look all right, y'all

(16:13):
just gonna keep arguing. I don't. I'm not back and
forth from me if you want to get into me,
just argued. Literally we are an agreement every time either way,
Ice Spice has had a great year. So you currently
listen to the what hip hop questions? Lest will be
right back after this break Gee, who you got next? Um?

(16:39):
Being a ridel Yo, you're going straight west up? All right?
I like, be Know, why do you think this would
be the breakout year now? Though? Well, Beino has had
a great year. He had a great year last year
to me because his album was amazing. But I think
this year hes gonna get his just due because I
feel like a lot of people sleep on them. And

(17:01):
at this point we're going to see the what he
can do without Blast because I feel like a lot
of people think that they introduced to Blast from being
Know and people think that they will introduced to Beano
from Blast. So I think now we can see the
separation and see what he can do without him. Definitely,
I'm familiar with him because of Blasts, So I guess
I'm falling that. I guess I'm gonna have to pay

(17:24):
attention being what should think? Are you being a fan?
Are you? Are you hip? I like him one Blast Records,
all right, so we just gotta give the project a listen.
He's dropping something this year. I'm sure something is coming.
But his last project. If y'all haven't heard that one, yeah,
it's all bangers, all bangers, yo. All right, I'm gonna

(17:46):
check it out. Why are you laughing? So they're disrespecting.
I can't hear. I ain't saying nothing. Go ahead, go ahead,
um hmm, all right. So my next one I'm gonna
go with is I guess I'll go with Superstar Pride, Okay,

(18:13):
And honestly, it's just because I haven't really liked a
trap record in a very long time, Okay, Like I've
kind of just been over the genre. But when how
is that? I'm just talking about my personal like when
I go home at night. I haven't been adding any
trap records to my playlist. But when I heard Painting Pictures,

(18:33):
I'm like, it reminded me of when I was like
a trap girl, like when I was into it. So
I'm like, you know what, I'm looking forward to seeing
what he got next. And I know he just signed
he just got signed off that record to United Masters,
so I'm, you know, happy to see what they will
do with him. Shut up, we're not talking to business.

(18:55):
We're just talking about music. You might not hear. Have
you heard of Superstar Pride? No? Oh man, we gotta
Example's Faith Evans on that song too. Yep, yeah, Example
of Faith. It's a good record. Definitely check it out.
I think you'll like it. Oh it's all right, I'm

(19:17):
gonna keep it, ladies, I'm going doch. I think this
is the Yeah, yeah, I think I think this is
the I think once again, this is uh. You know,
Doc is an amazing live performer. Um, I love every
I love. I have loved every song she's released, even
her features. Um you know her last feature with u

(19:40):
Isaia Rashod. I mean I literally have that, Yeah, Like
I have that on repeat at all times. Um yeah.
And Dochi and of course her dj is is a hometown,
hometown favorite of mine, DJ Miss Milan. You know, we
came up together. So um yeah, just to see people
putting the putting a premium on live performance, on actual

(20:04):
song performance, I love it. Um yeah. And I think
CD is gonna be just fine going into the post
Kendrick error with Scissor and Dochi. So yeah, DOCI is on. Yeah,
and she's also from Tampa, Florida show, which I just
was in Tampa last week in Tampa. Is like that,
we've heard Doci a lot. So what do you think

(20:26):
she needs to do just to break just more singles
or yeah she won feature with with someone bigger, or
maybe maybe she's got to keep dropping. Yeah, I think
And like I said, like with you know, festivals being
as big as they all right now, as long as
she keeps killing her live performances, she's gonna she's gonna
get that. But I think she needs a record to stick,

(20:49):
like there needs and you know, I hate to say,
like maybe there needs to be a viral record, but
she needs a record that is undeniable TikTok viral ish
right like ish, but we need one that's undeniable, right
we need or honestly, I think, um, I think we

(21:10):
need a good a good movie record from r I
think attaching I think Doci is great for movies. I
think attaching her music to a movie would really help
propel her. Um. But yeah, I'm a huge Dochi fan.
So maybe next Black Panther project tde well hopefully, um,
you know that next movie comes out sooner we don't
have to wait five years for this is true. I

(21:33):
think Dochi will have for a moment. Nonetheless, So Gina's
third pick, do you know who you got? Well, I'll
say t d E and still West calls. So Reason
I knew Reason. Guy's been out for seventeen years. What's
going on? All right? What? Oh? All right? So I
guess to Mouse's point, why do you think this would

(21:53):
be Reasons a year? Because Reason is like literally like
one of the top lyrics is out here. I'll be
campaign him for him since Tina hit the scene, he
hadn't been in like three of my ciphers already, and
Reason it's just one of them niggas that could rap.
And he was just we talked about music movies. He
was on the pre soundtrack Black Counter soundtrack. So I

(22:14):
don't know. I just feel like people just finally gonna
give him his gestuit. He did have my favorite verse
on that. Yeah, the Reason is actually fire. I can't
like Reason. I wish you were here, Gino because we
have these tomatoes. So whenever I don't agree with Mouse,
I throw these tomatoes at him, and I feel like

(22:36):
they would all be thrown by now if you were here.
Can you throw two of him for me? Yeah? Got
to what the fuck hit him in ahead? Thank you?
Just because it's been so long, man, We've been getting
along a little too well, man, and it just hasn't
been fun anymore, man, But I love that. It's probably

(22:57):
the Leo dynamicis true. We're both Leos me and that girls.
That girl's a liar, all right, So piggyback and off
of reason, I think reason is a great one and
I'm a fan of just bars in general. So off

(23:17):
of that, I'm gonna go with Ruben Vincent at a
North Carolina. I'm a big fan of everything that General
Love Records got going on. He works with Knife Wonder,
he signed to Knife Wonder, and Rubin is dope, man, Like,
he just did a cosmic cam freestyle that was so
did you just have one? We need to talk? No,
I didn't, but I just reposted his cosmic care freestyle

(23:38):
and I was like this, he's different. He did this.
How many mikes flipped in his rat? Yeah? Me, so
many many. I was like, all right, Nah, this guy
is just different and he's mad young. So it's just
the fact that you even know the score and that
level most people just know like ready or not, you know, like,
but I'm here, You're so funny. I'm thoroughly impressed by

(24:02):
Ruben Vincent. If you're a fan of bars, definitely tapping
with Ruben. How about you? What you got all right?
Keeping it with the ladies, R and B, undeniable R
and B music, Coco Jones. I think Coco Jones. I
think that last project was a little lackluster. Um. I

(24:24):
think this is the year she she proves that one
she's an undeniable talent when it comes to just straight
up R and B music. That girl could stay in
flat foot and sing down and I think what's missing
it's just the writing. I think she gets with a
you know, I pray she gets with a really good writer,
and you know, with rides that way, she's in belt

(24:45):
looking fucking immaculum every fucking week like you're in all
these homes. Yeah, whatever, whatever she's gonna release is gonna
get the eyes in the ears. I just hope that
this is the year that, you know, all the doubt
goes away, you know what I mean, it all comes together,
comes together. Like I said, it's just the writing, the performance.
Hopefully we see her on a few festival stages. Um,
so she could really show people she could sing, um,

(25:08):
I like Coco's a good one, Yeah, Coco Jones. I
think this would be a year. I feel like he
was shaving you a little bit when he said the
real R and B comment, I literally talking about R
and B music. Oh, I thought, I thought, I'm still
trying to figure out when he heard Kaitlin rap hot
and written, you're now listening to the what hipop questions?

(25:30):
Legend to listen. We'll be right back after the break.
Who you gotta ask your fourth Pickmber? It was great?
What are you talking about? This is getting crazy, yo?
You have four La picks? You think this is all
four day years? Like you? That ass? You yourked the

(25:54):
West Coast. And if I'm sitting on the platform and
people ask me who I think is next up? Is
gonna be my people? All four of them? Yes? All right? Cool?
All right? Cool? I respected, all right, Cool, I respect it.
You would do this? What do you think hen would
be saying right now if he was on here, he
will be saying all West Coast that he's gonna says,

(26:19):
what's what coach wanted to talk about? Eight people that
you think is next thing. You should have just said.
You should just be saying too a lot of time. Listen,
I would just we've all set people from roddy rich,
vast places. You know you stayed West Coast school, Simbo
says simb Simbo. See, now you're gonna make my last

(26:42):
pick sound for us. I'm not gonna make anything out anything.
I feel like I know who her last pick is too, Honestly,
YG like, who is it? Like blast? Hello? Yeah, I
figured not gonna argue. Yeah, I like blast. So if

(27:03):
that's your last pig, oh, I thought she was saying, like, yeah, dad,
that was it? All right? Cool? So I'm gonna go
out with my next one, and I'm gonna keep it
with the ladies now since you're on the ladies tail too,
and I'm gonna go with jos I actually really enjoyed
her project. Oh no, you did not enjoy the project? No?

(27:24):
Oh no, I did not. All right, where's Jossey from
misfis No? No, no Alabama? Yeah, southern girl. But I
really liked her her tape. She signed to Love Records
Records shout out to Ivy shout yeah, oh oh yes,

(27:47):
yeah yeah. So I'm gonna go with Jozy. I see
you're not a Jossy than yet, but I think you
just got to sit with it. It's you know, it sucks.
It fucking sucks having an opinion, like because if I
don't like it now, I'm not a Jozy fan and
I hate no person you got with the tape. I
sat with the tape. The tape doesn't impress me, but

(28:09):
you know I I love the space. I love the space. Um,
I'm gonna go Mana Leo. I think Mina Leo. Wow, Ye,
what were you saying? I don't even want to say. Now,
what do you say? What were you saying? I don't know?

(28:30):
All right, cool, that's fine, go ahead, just go come on. Yes,
you know her stuff. It's kind of dark sometime. Yes,
And it's exactly you can't pinpoint anything because she comes
out in twenty twenty one. We're beating down your block
and it was insanity. I don't I don't even think.
I think because of when it dropped, how it dropped you,

(28:50):
because of the flux the world was in it. Really,
that record didn't really get the ride it was supposed
to get beaten down your block. I'm not gonna say,
I want to say, because people from Houston's gonna kill me,
I'm gonna say, I'm not scared. Beating down your block
is better than knocking pictures off the wall. Beating down

(29:10):
your block is better. The beating down your block song
is better than the song it's sampled. It's better than
knocking pictures off the wall. Way better. Manta Leo, She's
a deliverer. I can't get away from it enough. I
love delivery. I love people that deliver songs properly. Don't
just get in on there and be lazy and just

(29:31):
follow with the producers. Deliverer. I believe her when she speaks.
She also can sing. She also, you know, she also
you know, talks about the dark like you discuss the
dark things in her music that goes on in her life. Um,
you know, you know, the suicidal ideation and the depression
and thing that nature. She's a full, complete artist, And

(29:51):
I think Manta Leo gets it right this year. All right,
last picks, last round, picks of artists set to blow
this year? Who you got ge Lola Brooke? Oh, that
was actually gonna be mine, But I'm glad you said it.
That's a great one and that's not West Coast. Yeah,

(30:14):
you're not proud of her for that, that she made
her choice. No, I'm proud of her for picking outside
of the West and I think that she is a voice,
she is a cultural voice of the West Coast. She
she's supposed to do that. Yeah, but she would with
Lola our girl. Wait wait, wait, wait waite. Didn't he
just say something about me only doing WEBT coaching when

(30:36):
I go East Coast. He's saying something about it. But
you're supposed to that, You're supposed to be non don't
listen to him. You did great. I think you your fifth.
Throw that tomato at him. Throw the tomato at him,
please you really the guest is always right. But yo,

(30:58):
I think Lola is absolutely on a roll. She's coming
off tour, just dropped the new record, disrespectful. I'm obviously
a Lola stand so I think that was a great pick. Gina,
what are your thoughts on it? Maw thank you. I'm
not I'm not convinced. You're not convinced yet. I think

(31:19):
don't play with it with such a big record, and
I think they waited too long to drop something new
and disrespectful. Doesn't sound fresh. It sounds forced. It sounds
like they're trying to follow the It sounds like they're
trying to intentionally follow something that was super organic. So

(31:40):
like the way disrespectful, like the way that the way
she kind of stretches out the words and then to
make it vibe, you know, have some virility to it
seems a bit forced. I'm not a fan of a
disrespectful record. And I think throughout this whole time she
should have been dropping records, Like if this was a
record that you would have throughout two months ago while

(32:02):
you're touring, cool because another record, which is the one
that should have that's the one, that's the one that
should have got to love. It was a good one.
But now when you take here goes a problem. They
made that one more official exactly, and that's the problem
when you have this is the follow up single, and
for this to be the follow up single, it fails.

(32:23):
All Right, it's not good. Well, I'm still rooming for Lola.
Of course was root for the Town. But yeah, that's
not that's that. That one ain't it for me? Okay,
So I'm gonna go at one who I think it's
still budding he's more in the discovery phase, but I
think once people catch on, they're gonna love him. His

(32:44):
name is Jehovah. He's from South Oh, my young boy,
he's from South Carolina, and um, he submitted a song
to my like new music submission thing, and out of
hours of bad music, his record stood out too. He's
been good forever. I'm new, I'm new. I've known those
kids since he was a child, That's what he said.

(33:05):
I've literally I've known Jehovah since he was like sixteen seventeen. Dope,
He's always Every record he sent me has always been good.
And he does it for the ladies. He's really good.
He does it for the ladies. Yeah. I really loved
jehova I think he has to get out of North Carolina.
He sings well, he wraps well. He's working on that

(33:26):
and I would just like to put him on everybody's
radar if he's not already. Jehovah is that guy. Yeah.
I think Jehovah hasked him get out of North Carolina.
If he wants to make it, you gotta move. I
think that's for most people that's in the Carolina. Is
honestly it. Yeah, I guess yeah, but especially for him
though he wants the one he got to get out
of there. My final pick, all right, now, this is

(33:48):
gonna get controversial. I already know it. This is gonna
get controversial. You can prepare your tomatoes if you want.
I do not care. My final pick for the two
only three? No, who the What's next list? Cardi B.

(34:08):
We're talking about music. Cardi has had a chip on
her shoulder for the last five to six years. People
have doubted her for the past five to six years.
We all know this is the reintroduction of the reintroduction
to Cardi B as an artist. Every single has been
put out, people have complained, people said, it hasn't done this,
it hasn't done that. I loved up. I think I

(34:30):
think people have are sleep on Cardi B. And I
think this year, when she releases this project, everyone comes
back and kisses the fucking ring. We're talking about who's
gonna have a great year this year? Card B. She
hasn't released an album in five to six years. She's

(34:51):
been busy when she when she releases this or that
other stuff. We ain't gonna worry about McDonald's Pepsi movies
no gonna remember that. Hey, when this girl puts your
head into this music, she's not a game. Okay, interesting choice, Yeah,
West Coast, all right, So Cardi B. I hope Carty

(35:19):
B has a great year. I like her to come back,
say went Honestly, there's a lot of people who have
been inactive that I would like them to drop some music.
Oh the City Girls, they're definitely dropping this year. They've
been mad in actions though, like where's the music? I
need new music. Also, there was a few other people
who y'all considered them in a virtue musically. Yeah, I mean,

(35:44):
I know Karasia's you know, acting and whatnot. We don't
have to break up. Let's talk about the good things.
I know she's busy, but definitely, I'm just looking forward
to seeing them drop again. And um, I'm looking forward
to the success of all the people that we aimed
on the list. So that I would like to say
honorable mention on my blast. I think I would Oh God,

(36:07):
oh blow yeo. I think glow is good. You think
it's over somebody else that to me they said that
thing it's over from blow and I love think we
have reached No. I love glow and I love Gloss too.
I think this is I think that and k Carbon's
pretty hard too, if you actually really sit and listen.

(36:28):
I think that's who we got to keep our eye on,
is Gloss. Gloss, That's who's going to take. But yeah,
I think that. Uh, I think our time with Glorilla
is coming to an end. I don't know. Don't let
little Yandi get around one of them. He's too busy
trying to be out take three months. Yeah, yeah, we

(36:49):
don't do that. Somebody dispect to the woman. You know
you can't having to be Yeah, I forgot Yeah an
opinion not this month, yo. Thank you Gina for stopping
by and choppling it up with us and sharing your
perspective on who's gonna have a dominant year of twenty
twenty three. Technical difficulties, Gina, Sorry about the difficulties, but

(37:13):
we appreciate you thugging it out with us. Yeah. I'm
really interested to see this like four person takeover from
what Can You Stop Shows Some Loves. You said I
was naming too many Westake people, and then when I
named for East Coach people, you said I was supposed
to do that. But like, I don't really like I'm
just saying I cannot wait to see all four of

(37:35):
these artists that she mentioned, by the way, are moving.
They're moving, all of them? Are they? All of them
are moving? Who's not moving? All right? They might not
be what she's saying reasons not moving. It might not

(37:55):
be like reasons not moving. Bro, all right, I'm not
