think now they go to it's like the so yes gatekeeping.
But then I think on the opposite end of that
spectrum is anti gate keeping, which is why we have
so many hip hop blogs and you know, you have
so many people that have a saying that people would

of um going to these print publications. Right. That's why
I just think it is like even what you like,
I think you're a part of that, you know what
I mean, Like people now come to you, especially now
that you're doing you know, pass the orcs on the

I'm actually really happy about it. I um it's cool
because I will say I've always enjoyed like shouting out
new artists and like listening to submissions and stuff like that.
But even like with the day Law feedback that I
got shouts Darren when I said, um, I've been listening
to Daylight, So I thought I was gonna get shunned
honestly by the hip hop community, like you're just now

finding out about it the rest. That's why Sam was like, wow,
I'm like, what shore wowing for it? But he was like, no,
I'm happy that. I'm like, oh oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think I think this moment with Daylight so I
think I said this before, like it's it's what all
this is about, right, It's about this is why ds
fees and so important, and this is what it's all about.

Being able to reintroduce or introduce people fully to these
artists that and you know, because I think because they
were they weren't on DSPs and only for such a
long time, some people only knew you know, me myself
and Die and Buddy. It's like you get to meet

these people or at least their catalog and full so
now you fully get to embrace Daylie soul in their impact.
And I think some of my favorite parts of music,
especially when I'm listening to older music, some of my
favorite parts are being able to you know, kind of
suspend myself in that moment and kind of feel like
what it felt like to hear this the first time

it was released. I get that when I listened to
a certain it's like there's certain albums I listened to
almost specifically for that feeling to like be like, hmm,
what was it like? Can I put myself in the
mindset of what it was like when this dropped and
not my first time hearing it? So, you know, I
don't know if other people listen to music like that.
If they do, then that's just another music that paints

does for me in there. It really does. It really
makes me feel like I was in Queensbridge in the nineties.
When you listen to that project, you can at least
say that you don't have to say you love nas

that can used to like bring music to people that

I'm a big Queen Latifa fan, but Queen Latifa got
a lot of great projects, even outside just hip hop
jazz projects, and just her catalog is Dupe is probably
one of my favorite jazz projects. Smooth, It's so smooth.

But I think, like a lot of older artists, especially
during the year of hip hop fifty, I think a
lot of projects should be reintroduced, have a party, and
like push them on DSPs, just for the new generation.

think now they go to it's like the so yes gatekeeping.
But then I think on the opposite end of that
spectrum is anti gate keeping, which is why we have
so many hip hop blogs and you know, you have
so many people that have a saying that people would

you know, UM look up to and go to instead
of um going to these print publications. Right. That's why
I just think it is like even what you like,
I think you're a part of that, you know what
I mean, Like people now come to you, especially now
that you're doing you know, pass the orcs on the
breakfast club every Sriday, boom boom boom, hey bok pda tapping. Yeah,

I'm actually really happy about it. I um it's cool
because I will say I've always enjoyed like shouting out
new artists and like listening to submissions and stuff like that.
But even like with the day Law feedback that I
got shouts Darren when I said, um, I've been listening
to Daylight, So I thought I was gonna get shunned
honestly by the hip hop community, like you're just now

finding out about it the rest. That's why Sam was like, wow,
I'm like, what shore wowing for it? But he was like, no,
I'm happy that. I'm like, oh oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
I think I think this moment with Daylight so I
think I said this before, like it's it's what all
this is about, right, It's about this is why ds
fees and so important, and this is what it's all about.

Being able to reintroduce or introduce people fully to these
artists that and you know, because I think because they
were they weren't on DSPs and only for such a
long time, some people only knew you know, me myself
and Die and Buddy. It's like you get to meet

these people or at least their catalog and full so
now you fully get to embrace Daylie soul in their impact.
And I think some of my favorite parts of music,
especially when I'm listening to older music, some of my
favorite parts are being able to you know, kind of
suspend myself in that moment and kind of feel like
what it felt like to hear this the first time

it was released. I get that when I listened to
a certain it's like there's certain albums I listened to
almost specifically for that feeling to like be like, hmm,
what was it like? Can I put myself in the
mindset of what it was like when this dropped and
not my first time hearing it? So, you know, I
don't know if other people listen to music like that.
If they do, then that's just another music that paints

the picture for you exactly. That's what nads is Elmatic
does for me in there. It really does. It really
makes me feel like I was in Queensbridge in the nineties.
When you listen to that project, you can at least
say that you don't have to say you love nas
you can say Darren No. I mean, I think even
what you're talking about with hip hop curation, right, you know,

DJ's and hip hop journalists were the only two roles
that can used to like bring music to people that
alert introduce people to tribe call quests. You know, I don't.
I don't want to say this and like discredit Dayla
in any way, but I almost feel like more older

projects should be like reintroduced on DSPs because there's a
lot more you know what I mean. Like even I mean,
I'm a big Queen Latifa fan, but Queen Latifa got
a lot of great projects, even outside just hip hop
jazz projects, and just her catalog is Dupe is probably
one of my favorite jazz projects. Smooth, It's so smooth.

But I think, like a lot of older artists, especially
during the year of hip hop fifty, I think a
lot of projects should be reintroduced, have a party, and
like push them on DSPs, just for the new generation.

journalists like Minyao did the Five, Mike's Filmatic, right, Sasha Jenkins,

Elliott Wilson, They all used to do reviews and talk
about who you should be listening to. Miss in government

time when you look to these magazines to tell you
what to listen to. But now Instagram has brought a

new level of people telling you what you should do.
