Introducing There and Gone: South Street

This is the missing persons case of Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone. The two disappeared, without a trace, from Philadelphia nearly two decades ago. To this day, Danielle, Richard, as well as Richard’s pickup truck have never been found. Unlike most cases, there is not a single piece of physical evidence connected to this crime. But the FBI knows there was foul play. In There and Gone: South Street, the Glass Podcasts team opens their own investigation with unprecedented access and cooperation from the FBI.
The team will track down leads, conduct their own interviews and meet with persons of interest as they look to bring justice to Danielle, Richard and their families.

Just before midnight on Saturday, February nineteenth, two thousand and five,
Danielle Mbo and her friend Richard Patron left.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
A crowded Philadelphia bar.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
The two thirty somethings planned to walk to Richard's truck
and drive home, but they never made it.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
It does not make sense. It's like they literally vanished.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
The two were never seen again.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
Not just them, but a truck disappeared into the ether
from one of the most frequented spots in the whole city.
It was stunning.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Nobody hears anything, nobody sees anything. Did they run away?
Was it an accident or were they murdered?

Speaker 5 (00:43):
No one had a motive to kill them. No one
dropped from the sky and said, let me take these
people on this truck and let them disappear.

Those same questions frustrated law enforcement.

A trucking two people just don't disappear.

The FBI called it murder for hire.

Who killed these two individuals and how did they get

Both of them weren't the target. One of them was
the target, the other one was wrong place, wrong time.

And why it was definitely murder for hire for Danielle,
not for Richard.

something your son did too.

in my eyes, he's just some guy my sister was with.

that drove the wedge.

At this point, the emotions are very high. You have
two families, their daughter and son are missing, and people
are trying to find answers, and there was quite a
bit of animosity between the two families.

I think that whatever happened to my dad and Danielle
was planned and orchestrated and thought out.
