Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey guys, I'm Kaylie Shore and this is too much
to say, questions it out you? Okay, So we're on
week three of the minisodes and then we will be

(00:21):
back full force. Um, not next week, but the week after,
and we will be a revamped too much to say,
with some special guests and some video content and some
Q and as. I've been listening to what you guys
have been reaching out with for ideas. If you have more,
feel free to send him in just about what you'd
like to see on the podcast. So for this week's episode, UM,

(00:44):
I want to talk about tarot cards. I really enjoy them.
They've been super helpful for me, and I think that
there's a lot of misconceptions about tarot cards. First starters,
you're not conjuring satan mom, Like, I was totally not
allowed to do so many things like that growing up
because um, they were Satanic. And also I wasn't allowed

(01:05):
to have Cabbage Patch kids because they were Satanic. And
I was not allowed to watch The Little Mermaid because
it was over sexualized. So we don't really trust my
mom's opinion on those things anymore. We don't, we don't,
we don't. I don't think she has a good judgment
and what is corrupt and what is not. So um, Yeah,
Tarot cards are one of them, and I was always
really interested in them. And they're not like some like

(01:27):
crazy voodoo you're gonna cast a spell and curse yourself
with these things. Like the death card doesn't actually mean
anything negative. Um, there's just so many misconceptions about it.
Like the death card is about rebirth more than it
is death, and it's about how you have to let
go of some things in order to make room for
new ones. And that's a beautiful thought that is so

(01:50):
necessary and it is not like a disastrous thing. So um,
I want to share a couple of my favorite cards
and like what you should do if you're looking to
get yours is Tarot deck. And yeah, so there's like
a thought that people have about tarot cards that you
should be gifted your first pack. I don't think that's

(02:11):
super matters, but what you should do when you get
your first pack and find one that you connect with,
I personally really like to um, I really like to
like go see them in person and go to a
store and you can just search spiritual shot. But they
also have a lot of bookstores these days, both both
local ones and like Barnes and Noble and all that,
and they have some really really cool ones by like

(02:32):
smaller artists, and it's just a great place to get started.
You can order them online. I actually have some packs
that I found from Etsy that I really like. I
have one that's like the o G first ever Tarot,
but it's a holographic version and that's one of my
favorites for everyday readings because it has really clear illustrations
that you can find meanings in that you need to um.

(02:53):
So the tarot is just a great place just like
find Honestly, it's mostly answers to questions that you already have,
but it's about like just taking the time to meditate
and ask the universe for questions. It's a prayer. You
can use it in any form of religion that you like,

(03:15):
participate in anything you believe in. All tarot is is
divination in the sense that you are calling on a
higher power and using this as a medium to be
able to speak to them. So Jesus would not dislike
tarot cards, I mean, And also like with like tarot
tradition and that kind of thing, like there's a lot
of like saints, and there's a lot of um Christian

(03:40):
stuff woven in through it, and it's really beautiful and
I really, I really love the connection. But you have
um the major arcana, which is the story of like
basically the hero's journey, and this journey matches up to
the journey of Jesus Christ watches up to you know,

(04:02):
um Lord of the Rings is it's Pilgrim's progress. It's
like all of these different stories that were very familiar
with and they fit in the pattern. So it starts
with the Full, which represents new beginnings. They use full
more like child versus like idiot um. And you go
through all of these cards and it ends on the world.
So you're starting off as like this wee babe and

(04:26):
going through life and learning all these different trials and
uh you know, lessons, and then you end up becoming
one with the universe and that is the goal for
all of us, right. So it's really beautiful. But I

(04:48):
wanted to share my favorite cards, so I actually have
this one tattooed on me. It's from the Soul Cards deck,
which is really a great deck. UM. It's illustrated by
Cocarina and it's just really beautiful. But it's not a
good first deck because it's only two colors. It's really
abstract images. You if you're learning the meanings, you're gonna
want to see like how illustrated they are, Like the

(05:12):
meaning of like a card in the tarot has like
you know, there's a woman who is tied to a post,
but she's actually not, like the chains are broken, so
she's only keeping herself captive, and like you're going to
find that meaning in a more traditional deck versus this one.
But I have that version of this card tattooed. And

(05:33):
the reason I got it tattooed is because I kept
pulling this card every single time I was doing a
reading while I was making Open Book, and it was
called the Hermit. And I had never been alone in
my life, Like I literally went from living in my
mom's house too having a roommate for like six months,
and then I moved in with a guy, and up
until I was twenty four years old and started making

(05:55):
Open Book, I had not been on my own. I
had not been single, I had not lived alone. I
had not done any of those things. And just the
solitude of it was equal parts terrifying but beautiful and
so the meaning of the hermit like basic keywords are
soul searching, introspection, being alone in inner guidance. And I
would pull this because I write down all of my
like tarotum readings, like in a little journal, which I

(06:17):
highly recommend because you can like look back and have
some like you know, hindsight on it, and it's it's
really cool to see how it ends up lining up
with what actually happens. Um, Like the time that I
did a terror reading about this guy that I was seeing,
and uh, the guy who out of it is about
and um, the first card I pulled was like absolute
loss and destruction turned back like a can and I

(06:41):
was like, no, it's fine, And I went back and
read it. I was like, oh my god. But um,
the hermit stands alone on the top of a mountain.
The snow capped range symbolizes his spiritual mastery, growth and accomplishment.
He's chosen this path of self discovery and as a result,
has reached a heightened state of awareness. In his right hand,
he owns a land turn with a six pointed star.

(07:01):
Inside it is the Seal of Solomon, the symbol of wisdom.
As the hermit walks his path. The lamplights his way,
but it only illuminates his next few steps rather than
the full journey. He must step forward to see where
to go next, knowing that not everything will be revealed
at once, and his left hand the side of the
subconscious mind. The hermit holds a long staff, a sign
of his power and authority, which he uses to guide
and balance him. So that's like the metaphorical part, but ah,

(07:25):
the more literal meaning is the hermit shows that you're
taking a break from everyday life to draw your energy
and attention inward and find the answers you seek deep
within your soul. You realize that your most profound sense
of truth and knowledge is within yourself and not in
the distractions of the outside world. You leave behind the
munday and to set off on a journey of self discovery,
led only by your inner wisdom and guiding light. Now
is the perfect time to go on a weekend retreat

(07:47):
or sacred pilgrimage, anything in which you can contemplate your motivation's,
personal values and principles and get closer to your authentic self.
So if you want to learn more about Tarot meanings,
go to biddy Tarot dot com, b d d Y
tara O t a r ot dot com. They have
all of the um the meanings for the cards and
they go. They have both like a simple explanation and

(08:09):
a more in depth one. But I hope that you
guys find UM find it useful. It's been a really
really beautiful way for me to just journal and take
time to meditate. And it's not so much like predicting
the future as it is just finding insight on where
you're at. My favorite spread to do is just past
present future. So you just pull three cards. UM. You

(08:32):
can pull the top three cards at the top of
the deck after you shuffle it. UM, you can pick
like lay them, spread them out and like run your
hand over him and whichever when you feel like you
should stop on pick that. That's my favorite way to
do it. UM. But all it is is just you know,
talking about where you're coming from. So what's happened in
the past that's led to this moment that you're asking

(08:52):
the question about where you are in the present, like
what you're currently struggling with the place you're in it
may be good or bad. And then the future, which
is what is going to happen or could happen if
you stay on the current path here on. So I
found that to be incredibly helpful. Um, I might do
a more in depth episode Ontaro because it's something I
really really love and I'm getting back into now that

(09:12):
I have more um alone time because Sam and I
are back and forth between l A and not always
at the same time, so I have to keep my
self busy when he's not here. And yeah, so if
you guys have any questions, you know you can always
reach out to me. Twitter's best Instagram. I will look
for it. But um, you guys are the best. Thank
you so much. One more week of minisodes and then
we're back, although this was a longer minisode. Um but

(09:34):
I'm Kylie Shore and this is too much to say
asking questions it out you
