Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of The Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast. Second hour of The Clay Travis and
Buck Sexton Shows. Here everybody, I'm Buck in NYC. But
may Man Clay on vacation for the week, so he
misses you all, but he'll be back with us on Monday.

(00:20):
And in the meantime, Biden, this was pretty amazing. Biden
tested positive for COVID a second time. Now you kind
of say to yourself, if we are at a point
now where shot four plus packs loovid can result in

(00:41):
a rebound, and as I understand that the rebound case
is not some kind of testing error, that means that
the virus had a surge again after being reduced. I
don't know, maybe one of the docks that our audience
could explain how this actually works. He's back in isolation.
You're gonna have that big mask on of because that's
Damask has obviously worked incredibly well, considering that he got

(01:04):
four vaccines and took packs a little bit and got
COVID again in a two week period. But this is
just another data point that you have to add to
the mountain of data that these policies that were put
in place a year ago. Isn't it remarkable? It feels

(01:25):
like so much has changed one year ago. You had
the because wow, it's August first. I can't believe we're
already at the end of the summer. Here you had
vaccine passports starting in places like New York City, and
then it was in cities all over the country, a
lot of cities, not all of them, but a lot
of them. Los Angeles had this, and you know all

(01:47):
these places that instituted this, Chicago, I mean, I can't
even remember every place that decided they were going to
have it. And it was all premised on it's not
about what will protect you. You're a risk to other people.
If you don't get the shot, you're a bad person
who was risking other people. That was what they said.

(02:08):
And Joe Biden was giving these angry speeches, not like
he was trying to bring everybody together anything. Who's going
get the shot, get the shot. If you don't get
the shot, I mean, gosh, darn it, get it, get it.
Pandemically unvaccinated. You know, he's doing that thing where he
kind of stares and gets all loud and he goes

(02:31):
shots work, They work, They work, real good. No joke, friends,
not a joke. So it's yelling and you can why
first of all, why are you yelling? Second all, what
are they done to your eyes that they don't really
move for these long periods of time, they don't blink?
Seems a bit strange. And now also we know he
was totally wrong about all of this. He was wrong

(02:51):
about the vaccines as a defense against spread. They don't
even talk about that anymore. And we could sit here
and play all the clips Rashella, lens, get all the
rest of them saying you know you won't get it,
you won't spread it lies, and they'd say, oh, but
we didn't know that's what the data said then, not
according to doctor Burkes, who says she knew it wasn't

(03:13):
going to stop the spread. And if we had had
this technology available, why were we allowing fifty thousand to
one hundred thousand people every year to get and die
from the flu from influenza. Apparently all we needed was
a little bit of a kick in the pants and
we could stop aerosoliyes virus in its tracks entirely. Think

(03:33):
about what a miracle they were effectively promising you. And
then mandating to you and then putting the boot heel
on your neck. Get the shot or else. I have
not forgotten, and I have not forgiven. There are tens
of thousands of people who have been separated from the military,

(03:54):
lost their military careers for this. Every Republican running for
office should be on board with the full restoration of
anyone in the federal government and specifically and most importantly,
the United States military who lost their job over their
refusal to get a vaccine that they did not need

(04:15):
and that did not defend people from infection. It lines
up with what we would have expected from dealing with
the flu. As we've said so many times, those who
are at risks should get the shot, even if it
doesn't last that long. A couple of months of protection
in the winter may be worth it. And lest they

(04:35):
should get it, should be able to choose to get
it right. The doctors have been telling people, look, I
think if you're over sixty five, you got a phazema,
you got hypertension, or whatever may be good for you.
We don't watch you in the hospital with the flu.
But no one ever was holding you down basically saying
get the shot or else. You're a danger. We're also
scared if you don't get the shot for the flu.
And look what they did with COVID. Look what they

(04:58):
mandated all over the country, the federal government, the Biden administration.
The fact that every sane person, in my opinion, isn't
voting straight party line Republican just based on the actions
of the Democrats on COVID is madness. It is madness.
They were wrong about everything on something that was really important.

(05:20):
They wasted trillions of dollars, They destroyed the mental health
of tens of millions of people, the highest rate of
drug overdose fatal overdose in our history. Over one hundred
thousand people died of drug overdoses over the period of
the COVID lockdowns that year. And have they been held
accountable for any of this? No. They want to write

(05:41):
books now. The people in charge of this act like
their heroes. There are still individuals walking around New York
City with masks on. It's completely insane. Joe Biden has
gotten a COVID rebound. I believe did Fauci. I think
Faucci had a COVID rebound too? Am I right about that?
I know that that is making the Yeah, that's right.

(06:03):
He had a pack slovid rebound. Okay, what does that mean?
I understand they're going to try to tell you're all,
I got a PhD and an MD and a blah
blah blah and all these complicated explanations. If I give
you a pill that it's supposed to defeat a virus

(06:23):
that you have, now you can tell me that maybe
it had some effect, But if you then have a
rebound of that virus, I think that pill is not
as effective as we would like it to be, right,
you know, I think that's a fair thing to say
at that phase. You know, if I told you that
I was going to, you know, cure your ear infection,

(06:46):
take these antibiotics, and then oh, you got an antibiotic rebound,
that would be a matter of real concern. Right, Fauci
got a rebound infection, Biden got a rebound infection. And
yet you know that as we go into the covid
season here Biden's going to be saying, we know it works, friends,
we know it works. Shots five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten,

(07:10):
elemental p chipmunks on a branch. You know he's gonna
be yelling at you about we know it works, mask up,
get the shot, all this stuff. It doesn't work, friends
doesn't work. Then you could say, oh, but in one case,
for one individual, if it stops one COVID case, it's
worth it. Well, that's crazy. We don't have that approach
with anything else. And I do have to point out,

(07:32):
you notice I haven't spoken a lot about monkey pox here,
and I think they're trying to start with there's a
new name for it, but everyone's calling a monkey pox.
There's this pushback on what you could call, if I
were Fouci commonplace monkey pox mitigation measures. There's a there's

(07:56):
there's pushback though on the mitigation measures. They don't like
it when people start to say publicly that a good
way to avoid monkeypox thus far, based upon the transmission
of the virus is to avoid group sex settings. Now,
based on the data that has been a primary source

(08:18):
of spread up to this point, if that changes, if
everyone's just getting it from you know, going out to
get lunch and they you know it's aerosolisers, which it's not,
by the way, but you know, for some reason the
data change is dramatically fine, let's talk about that. But
you'll notice that even in this moment after they shut
down your church, fired you from your job, made you

(08:40):
mask up, massed up your children, made your children get shots,
locked you in your homes. All of this to stop
the COVID virus. Any effort to actually limit the monkeypox
viruses spread by looking at what's actually going on with it,
we are told, is unacceptable and in fact bigoted. This

(09:04):
is why nobody can trust public health experts because they're politicians.
They're politicians in lab coats. Fauci is the worst of them,
but there are so many of them now in cities
and states all over the country. You see it every time.
You know. They're supposed to be about keeping people healthy,
giving smart advice, and being right. It doesn't matter the

(09:26):
public health establishment. They were completely wrong about vaccines. Have
you noticed any contrition from them. Have any of the
people who have spent the last two years lecturing you
about COVID as a public health expert, whether on Twitter
or on TV or wherever, has a single one of
them come forward and say, Wow, we got some stuff
really wrong. Man, we mess this one up. We shouldn't

(09:49):
have made everybody do this, We shouldn't have gone full
tyrant on this one. No of course not no. They
just say the data changed. Shut up, peasant. Now we
know they said they knew before and they were wrong.
They say they know now, and we question, and they
want to shut it down. They want to shut it down.

(10:11):
This is why there is no bigger fight for our
individual and our societal freedom in this country right now
than against the COVID madness. I know the economy is
the number one concern of voters. I know that a
lot of people will talk about immigration just a moment here,
illegal immigration, the border. There's a lot of stuff going
on right now that needs our focus. But I just please,

(10:32):
even if you're in a relatively free state from the
COVID madness from fauciism, remember that as long as the
Biden administration, as long as you have these idiot libs
in charge, they are not done harassing you. You will
have the mask mandate battle for planes again this winter.
I think it's a fifty fifty shot they reintroduced the

(10:53):
mask on planes. When the cases go up again, they're
out of their minds and they did so much damage
and there was no benefit from the damage they did. See,
here's the part of it. They don't tell you imagine
think about this, and nowhere else have I heard this argument.
I think it's so important instead of using force, instead

(11:14):
saying do this or else, we will block you from
public life, we'll fire you from your job. What if
they had said, hey, guys, we think this vaccine is
gonna be really good for folks, really good for a
number of reasons. But we're really gonna mostly encourage it
for seniors because we've looked at the data and we
know that the people who are at real risk from
COVID are sixty five and up. So we're going to

(11:36):
focus our energy on getting it to those sixty five
and ups, and we really want to encourage them to
do You think that there would have been such a
different In fact, I think more seniors would have gotten
the shot had they taken a collaborative, freedom based approach.
Instead of let's mandate it for high school kids, let's
mandate it for five year olds to be able to

(11:56):
go to school. Because reasonable people saw that action, saw
that heavy handed lunacy by the government, whether they were
seventy five or twenty five, reasonable people saw that and
said I can't trust these lunatics, and that impulse was right.
They can't trust them, So they damaged the credibility, they
damaged the believability of the people pushing these shots in

(12:22):
irreparable ways. So, as I've said, they made it all
worse and they just want to get away with it,
and I say, I say no. By the way, there's
another area where the Biden administration's wrong and they're having
to admit it. The wall. Remember that. Remember Trump talking
about We're gonna build the wall, and he was trying
to build the wall, and the Democrats fought him tooth

(12:42):
and nail and other than defund police, the single dumbest
slogan the Democrats embraced was walls don't work. They said this,
These smug morons would go on CNN and MSNBC and
New York Times writers, walls don't work. Give me a
twelve foot wall, I'll give you thirteen foot ladder. Turns

(13:02):
out the Biden administration is having to deal with some
reality down in Arizona when it comes to the wall,
and we will discuss that in just a moment. You
have every opportunity to experience the full magnitude of an
energy filled day, and you can thank our friends at
Chalk for that because look the health authorities out there
and just the Democrat left. They want you complacent, they

(13:23):
want you with low te they want you miserable, they
want you drugged up on things. They're gonna take away
your energy, take away your drive. Chalk helps restore that drive,

Go to Chalk c hoq dot com. Welcome back to
Clay and Buck. This is buck and walls work. It's
the most obvious thing imaginable. You can point to so

(14:53):
many of them throughout history. Hadrian's Wall, the Great Wall
of China, the walls around Pelosi Mansion in San Francisco, etc. Etc.
A lot of walls throughout history. And we were told
for a period of time under the Trump administration by
the lived media that walls don't do anything at the border,

(15:16):
to which I was fascionated. So I went to the border.
I went to the border in at San Diego Tijuana sector.
I went down to I went down to the Rio
Grande sector and went to Gosh, I can't even remember
all the places have been along the border. There are
four different spots I've been, all of which had some

(15:37):
form of barrier in place. And every time, every time
I was there, I asked Border patrol, Hey, do you
guys think this and gas. Of course. Do you think
this wall and it's a barrier fence sometimes double fence.
It said, does this help? And they would all say,
no question, this is helpful. There's no doubt this is helpful.

(16:01):
And they because people will say, oh, well, they can
still get through. Okay. Do you have locks on your
doors even though a really dedicated burglar could probably still
get through. Do you have an alarm system even though
somebody who is skilled enough may in fact be able
to I mean, look my own scooter. They broke the
lock on my scooter and took it. Does that mean

(16:22):
I don't lock up my little scoot scooter roo on
the streets? Of course? Not gotta lock it up. Here
is Karine Jean Pierre of the Biden regime telling everybody, Yeah, okay,
so we got to fix the Trump wall in the
Arizona sector. There's some holes in it and there's a
lot of traffic going through of illegal so we're gonna

(16:42):
have to actually patch up those halls. If walls work
in that part of Arizona. Is this the administration training
to get migrants to cross somewhere else like in Texas?
What is the plant? We are not finishing a wall.
We are cleaning up the mess that the prior ministration made.
We are trying to save lives. This is what This

(17:04):
is what the prior administration left behind that we are
now cleaning up. Actually they're patching up some places in
the wall. If you want to know what's going on here,
they could say we're cleaning up the mess. They can
have whatever talking points they want out of this White House.
But guess what. It turns out that when you have
one area that is just a highway for illegals and

(17:27):
there is some structure there that is a barrier, you
can make that a better structure if it has any
holes in it, or actually the real issue is gaps
in it. And then it is harder for the gotaways.
It is harder for the cartels to run their drugs
and their human smuggling operations. And it's even harder for
people to surrender the border patrol because they can't get

(17:48):
to the US side to turn themselves in and pretend
they're asylum seekers. So walls do work. Not a shock
unless you're a Biden voter, which gives you look, wait
a second, they're making Trump's wall. Yes, they're helping out
with a piece of Trump's wall. I've been telling you
this for months, though this one case is where I

(18:09):
was hoping to be incorrect. Our economy is in rough shape.
One day, the markets shows signs of recovery. The next
day it regresses, and it's so disappointing it hurts your
four oh one K and your savings. In the face
of so much uncertainty, it is wise to diversify the
way in which you invest your savings. One solid investment
of the course of time is gold. I mean real
gold that has proven itself to hold its value when

(18:31):
markets become turbulent. You know who I trust, right the
Oxford Gold Group. They've been who I've gone to for
gold purchases for years, well before this program even started.
I trust them because their advice has proven to be
correct and smart. They offer new and established clients a
best pricing guarantee, and they facilitate delivery of real gold
to your home called the Oxford Gold Group. Request your

do before the big show. Subscribe to The Buck Sexton Show.
And I'm also thinking I'm going to finish some hopefully
some history podcasts up soon and throw those in there
for the August period when people like to think about

(19:35):
things other than just the latest in politics. And I
had one other thing about about the fences and border
walls and all of that. As you know, we just
heard a moment ago I had the audio played for
you of Karine Jean Pierre saying that they're cleaning up
the they're cleaning up the mess of the Trump administration

(19:59):
by I building part of the wall. It's really amazing.
They could say whatever they want, but they're building part
of Trump's wall. And it's because border walls, of course work.
They're filling in some of these gaps here. And just
so we can all understand how it is, because you
may still come across a lid who goes well, I

(20:20):
don't think that they work. Yell at you say, well,
hold on a second, they do work actually, So I
don't know, buddy. You know, you get a big ladder
where you get some of those things that make the
cuts in the fence, whatever those are, and you get
right through. I've been at I've seen a rest happen
at the wall where people have tried to make a

(20:42):
total run for it. They're not surrendering. I've actually been
there when Border patrol has to pull up on a
bunch of guys. It's single adult males sometimes in a
group who do that, who do try to be the
gataways usually, but sure enough. You know what happens when
you try to scale a fence that's I forget how
many feet it is, you know, eighteen feet tall or

(21:02):
twenty feet tall or whatever depends on the fence and
where where we are along the border. But you know
what happens you try to get up that and there
are sensors and there are cameras. Border patrol goes up.
There's somebody who's illegally trying to scale the fence, and
you know what happens when the person tries to come
down on the other side and they're usually coming down
slow leagues. If they don't, they can really hurt themselves.
Borda patrol is waiting for them. But if you have

(21:25):
nothing there, if there's just a line that's not even
a visible line, really in the dirt, and someone can
just make a run for it. That difference especially around
urban areas of the country where there's urban places along
the border, right like El Paso. I was at El
Paso and on the other side, the other side of

(21:45):
El Paso. Right there you can see Mexico very easily.
And if they can get from the Mexican side across
the border there, you're you're in the city of El
Paso in the blink of an eye. Right, you're actually
able to get through very very quickly. And once you're there,

(22:06):
you know, once you leave what is it Warez on
the other side right to get into El Paso, you're
you're done. I mean, you're you're now in the US. Yes,
wires across the way, which was I think at one
point the per capita murder capital of the Western Hemisphere.
So the drug cartel wars there were among some of

(22:26):
the most horrific stuff seen anywhere in Mexico. Back in
the early twenty eleven, twenty twelve around there. But of
course the fence works, the wall works. It does also
remind me of this time I went out to observe
many years ago some of the military counter military counterinsurgency,

(22:47):
I should say, training at Ford Irwin. I don't know
how many of you have ever been to Ford Irwin,
but it's the nearest. I mean, Barstow feels like a
metropolis compared to Ford Irwin because that's the closet a
city and it's not that close. And they had a debt.
They had a desert tortoise problem at the fort. Now

(23:08):
here's what happened. You had this long road going into
the fort and they figured, um, well, the environmentalists got
very upset and the military Pentagon ended up spending and
you could even you can look this up. It's all
all out there in the public. I think it was
seventy million dollars to try to deal with the tortoise,
the desert tortoise issue, and the problem was that they

(23:30):
had this road going into the base. I remember I
got this this briefing from the base commander about this
just just about you know, kind of like a hey,
like here's the here's where the bathrooms are, here's where
the chow hall is. And by the way, let's talk
about the desert tortoise for a little bit. So you
had this road going into Ford Irwin and the the
desert tortoises, and the problem is that sometimes the military

(23:53):
vehicles and if they were in any kind of a convoy,
you know, the tortoise would go splat basically, which is bad.
We don't want tortoises to go splat. So what do
they do. They built a little fence kind of like
a wall alongside the road. They built this fence alongside
the road, and you think problem solved, right, Well, I

(24:13):
actually no, because unfortunately, the desert tortoise isn't the most
maneuverable of animals, and so it would go into the
fence and it would kind of get stuck, and then predators,
particularly I think it was a species of hawk or
vulture would pick them off really easily. So you almost
created this buffet line of tortoise in this fence all

(24:36):
along this road going into this big military base. It's
huge too. I mean they drop all kinds of ordinance
out there, and it's a huge national training center and
the forder wins a massive complex, so they had to
get better with the fencing, and so then they actually
created little tortoise tunnels, and the tortoise tunnels were angled

(24:59):
in such a way they would go under the roadway
so that the tortoise, even if it was leaning into
the fence, would go under the roadway, would stay off
the roadway. And this only cost us, along with plans
to move the tourists out of the range areas, et cetera,
something like seventy million dollars. So fences work, but they're
not perfect. It's the point, right, whether you're a human

(25:20):
or a tortoise, there are ways around defense, or there
are ways defence can be a problem. But the Biden administration,
sure enough, down in an Arizona sector, we got Blake
Masters joining next hours. I'll certainly ask him about this.
They are completing a part of the they're completing a
part of the Trump Wall, because, of course, walls work.

(25:41):
And that was that was a remarkable time, right when
they were simultaneously yelling about the Russia collusion didn't exist
and shouting at you that walls work. It was for
me somewhat reminiscent of some of the slogans, the absurd
and mindless logans that the Jacobin the Jacobin revolutionaries were

(26:07):
saying to each other. You know, in revolutionary era of France,
they were all about reason. And you say, well, hold
on a second, you're all about reason. What you got
We got to change the calendars, we gotta change the clocks,
we gotta change that doesn't seem reasonable at all. Shut up.
This is what we were told, and we're smart, we're
the good people, so we do it. Didn't make any
sense then, doesn't make any sense now. But here we are.

(26:29):
As you all know, I'm an engaged man, and with
that major commitment comes some additional ones, like you know,
getting in shape for the big day. So I've been
hitting the gym really consistently, honestly, four times, five times
a week, and with that comes a little bit of
aches and pains, especially in my shoulder from that over exertion.
But thanks to our friends at Relief Factor, I've got

(26:50):
there recommended three packets a day, and I'm looking forward
to the pain for my inflammation going away. Come and
feel the difference that I and hundreds of thousands of
people like me already experienced. One hundred percent drug free.
Relief Factor is just for all natural ingredients, created by
doctors and perfected by over fifteen years of scientific research.

(27:10):
Relief Factor treats aches and pains including elbows, hipe's knees,
back neck, and shoulder pain. I'm sure you've got something
that's sort of like me. It's me. It's my top
left shoulder. I think it's my laborum and it just
overuse and it sore off. The relief Factor brings down
that inflammation. Join the more than half a million people
out there who've had great results. Order the three week

(27:31):
Quickstart for only nineteen ninety five. Go to relief Factor
dot com or call them at eight hundred four Relief.
Either way you get the nineteen ninety five three week
Quick Start package one more time. That's relief Factor dot
Com or call eight hundred the number four Relief. You
seem to suggest this week that you might not support

(27:52):
Joe Biden, go at least wouldn't commit to supporting Joe
Biden if he's in the Democratic nominee for twenty twenty four.
So what's the bottom line? If Biden is renown John
your party, will you support him or could you vote
for a Republican, John, This is everybody's worried about the elections.
That's the problem. It's a twenty twenty two election, twenty
twenty four. But this is a simple question. Would not No, No,

(28:13):
it's not. I'm not getting involved in that, John, I'm
really not. I'll tell you the reason. This type of
legislation wouldn't happen unless the President United State was involved
and he gave his blessing and signed off on it.
I can assure you that, and I appreciate that more
than anybody knows, because so this has been tough. So
you wouldn't you want you wolve? So I'm not going
I'm not getting into the twenty twenty two or twenty

(28:34):
twenty four whoever is my president? That's my president and
Joe Biden's is my president right now? Man, Senator Mansion there,
West Virginia. Just dance it up a storm during that
interview to evade the question, the very straightforward question of
just whether or not he'll support Joe Biden as running

(28:55):
for president again. Oh, I'm I'm not gonna What do
you think I have? A politician, I'm not thinking about
elections here. Sure, sure, he's not It's amazing, isn't it.
It's because Mansion's whole political career is based on being
a chameleon right with the moment he needs to be
a little to the right, he pretends to be a

(29:17):
little to the right. The moment needs to be a
little bit left, a little left. But he certainly doesn't
want to tell the people of West Virginia right now. Yeah,
I'm thinking Biden's doing a great job. He's doing a
horrible job. But he did just bail out the Democrats
by going along with this build back Better junior agenda.

(29:37):
So I just think it's fascinating that they're pretending that
the walk away from Biden is not a very real thing,
that people recognizing that this guy is just it's not
only that, you know, they say it like he's not
up for the job now, and you've noticed there are
more and more people, even among Democrats, that going, no,

(29:58):
you know, he looks like he's slowed down own a
little bit, or he was never up for the job.
This was always a bad idea. Some of us warned
about it from the very beginning. Some of us were
living in reality. But anything to defeat Trump, they said,
anything to be Trump. You know, I was with Trump
for over an hour on Friday with Clay, and you

(30:19):
know we had a great conversation with him. If you
missed that. By the way, the podcast of the Clay
Travison Buck Sexton Show great place to listen in. But
he is sharp as can be, plenty of energy. You know,
there's nothing about him that gives any indication that he wouldn't,
at least from a health and energy perspective, be up
for it again. Joe Biden. Every time he shuffles around,

(30:43):
you just see the way the guy's walking, the way
he's moving. You're saying, this is not somebody who should
be having a taxing job of any kind. He's president.
It's not even like I'm saying, yeah, you know, he's
principal the local high school. But I think he's really
lost a step. He's the president of the United States

(31:04):
and they act like this is okay, this makes sense.
Chris in Calabash, North Carolina has an interesting point on
the filling up of the border wall down in Arizona.
What's up, Chris, Well, the reason they're doing it down there,
and this is according to Democrats Senator Mark Kelly, who's
running for reelection is because he has been coordinating with

(31:26):
the White House and he has been coordinating with the contractors,
and they're going to close those depths in Arizona. Of course,
they're not doing anything in Texas, where two senators are Republicans.
Good boy, Chris on what's going on Arizona. The people
of Arizona are dealing with the flawd of illegal migrants
into their communities and what that means from the standpoint

(31:48):
of resources and just the general drain on law enforcement
that that also creates. And they've I'm sure a lot
of them had enough, especially people who live near enough.
If you live really close to the border, you have
illegals just going through your backyard leaving trash, and you know,
border patrol having to swoop in and make a rest, etc.

(32:10):
I mean, that's that's the reality for people. I've spoken
to people who are either business owners or live right
along the US Mexico border, and that's what they're dealing with.
And they do want to pretend, I mean, this is
something now that everyone should be aware of. Um. They
want to allow democrats in specific races, in specific places,
to not look to not look crazy, to not be

(32:33):
crazy so they can fool so they can basically pull
a Joe Manchin. Oh, I'm not one of those crazy Libs. Yeah,
they'll go along with them though, they'll go along with them.
And we have Blake Masters, who is right now in
the polls leading for that Arizona Republican challenge for that
Senate seat, and I think he'd be a great, a

(32:56):
great candidate. And we definitely need we need to focus
in on this, on these Senate races because it is
going to be closer than I think any of us
want to admit, even with the state of the country
right now, the realities that we see of Democrat rule
in America today. The Senate, if we get fifty two

(33:16):
fifty three seats, that would be great based on what's
up this cycle. You know, it's not a super strong
cycle for us. It's a good period in terms of
the sentiment about Republicans and the failures of the Biden administration.
But which member it's they're running on a on a
different term, right, It's not like the House where it's

(33:38):
every two years, So you only have some Senate seats
that are up, and the ones that are up are
going to be some of them are gonna be tough.
It's gonna be tough. Dan in Anderson, Texas, he's a landowner.
He's got some thoughts for us on all this. Damn
what's going on? Yes, Buck, I wanted to preempt the
excuses we're going to hear from people like Taylor Swift

(33:59):
and Carry with their private planes and corporations that are
claiming that they're going to be carbon neutral by a
certain year, like Disney and Alphabet and Delta, United Airlines
and Microsoft. And the way they're going to do that
is they're going to claim that they're going to purchase
carbon offsets. But the carbon offset programs that are based
on tree planting or avoiding timber harvesting are a scam.

(34:23):
And I know because I own a lot of timberland
in Texas, and I sell carbon offsets to brokers who
resell them to individuals and companies who want to claim
that they're going to reduce their carbon emissions. And basically
the way it works is the optimal h to harvest
a tree for lumber is about forty years. So I

(34:46):
will sell carbon offsets to a broker until the year
that I decide that trees are optimally ready to be harvested,
and that year I won't sell a carbon offset. But
the obvious outcome is I didn't decline to harvest trees.
I just declined to harvest them in certain years, and

(35:07):
then in the year I want to harvest them, I
harvest them, and I gained carbon offset income every year
except the year I harvest them. Wow, that does sound
like a scam. I mean a legal scam, but it's
certainly the whole carbon offset program sounds like it's trash.
But Dan, that's really interesting. I'd never heard that before.
Thank you so much for a telling everybody about it.

(35:29):
And I've always said that the climate change thing really
feels like a religious religious ideology, religious system in so
many ways. And if you're familiar with the history, I mean,
I am a Roman Catholic, and if you're familiar with
the history of the Catholic Church indulgences, this was when
people would would pay they would just essentially try to

(35:53):
buy off. And this was during the medieval Now it's
it's changed, but during the medieval period, people would essentially
write a big check to the not a check because
they didn't have that. But you know what I mean, Okay,
would make a donation to the church, and it would
buy them less time. Oh gosh, I'm having to go
back now into my Catholic high school church history. Buy

(36:15):
them less time in purgatory, I believe was what it
was actually all about. I think I think it changed
our time. But indulgences, papal indulgences, that is what carbon
offsets really are for the climate religion. George Soros, he
has written enough ed. He has decided to take to
the pages of the Wall Street Journal to say, progressive

(36:37):
prosecutors are a good thing. My millions for them. They
haven't resulted in a lot of innocent people being murdered, shot, bludgeoned,
robbed so that I could feel good about myself as
a billionaire lib. No, they're actually good. Oh okay, Soros,
let's talk about this off ed and this argument when
we come back. Stay with us. Clay Travis and Buck
