Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of The Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast. Third hour of The Clay Travis and
Buck Sexton Show starts now. This is Bucking NYC. Clay
still on vacations for the week and joining us is
the hopefully next governor of the great State of Michigan.
Just want a primary last night, Tutor Dixon, Tutor, first
(00:24):
time in the program. Thanks for calling in. Oh, thank
you for having me so. I know you are a businesswoman,
working mom of four girls, breast cancer survivor, and you
have a career in Michigan's steel industry in the early
two thousands. Why'd you want to get into this situation?
Why'd you want to run? The state of Michigan needs
(00:45):
to come back. This governor has really destroyed the state.
Whether it is education, or business or even the safety
of our cities. Everything under Gretchen Winner has gone downhill,
and it's time to bring it back. I have that
private sector experience in our manufacturing industry, that's the number
one industry in Michigan. But every industry has been affected
(01:05):
by the way Gretchen Whitmer has ruled in government, and
she has made decisions that have been based on her
own personal decisions rather than what is best for the state.
And she's gone after our businesses. She's kept our kids
out of school longer than any other state, and she
has supported defund the police, which has caused our crime
to skyrocket in the state of Michigan. And I believe
(01:26):
we can bring it all back now. The lockdowns, I
remember this when there were lockdowns happening in different states
across the country. In Michigan, if I remember correctly, under
Governor Whitmer, were among the most extreme and long lasting,
at least in the earlier phase of the pandemic. And
(01:46):
what has that done? I mean, do Michiganders look back
at this and realize increasingly that this really hurt and
even destroyed businesses, with not a great outcome in terms
of COVID right exactly. It decimated our restaurant industry. We
lost three thousand restaurants. Our restaurants were closed for a
(02:06):
total of eight months. When you add it all together,
this is something that you just can't come back from.
But we also had this huge blunder with our unemployment system,
where eight billion dollars went out to people who shouldn't
have received unemployment. She kept. Remember when some states said
we're not going to extend that federal unemployment, she did.
We still have people that have not come back to work,
(02:27):
and that's heard our restaurant industry too, because they just
don't have anybody working there. Many of our restaurants that
did stay around, they still are only open two to
three days a week now. She had these ridiculous lockdowns too,
where we could go to the grocery store and you
could buy groceries, but you couldn't go to the seeds
section buy seeds to plant feeds. You could go golfing
(02:48):
if you walked, but you couldn't use a cart. It
was ridiculous the rules and regulations that she had more
executive orders than any other governor in the country. She
had more executive orders and more vetos. We were ruled
by one woman, and there was no equal branches of
government that had any fay and anything. She refused to
work with the legislature. It was an absolute destruction of
(03:10):
the state of Michigan. And she kept kids out of school,
and when parents begged to open the school and at
least let the kids play sports outside, she wouldn't respond.
She was among the very worst governors during during the
COVID pandemics first first year, first year and a half,
she was among the people that I think, even as
(03:31):
a New Yorker I looked to and thought, I didn't
realize that Michigan could be as crazy as this place,
but it pretty much was. It's pretty close to it overall.
What are the things that you would do going into
this general if if you win, and we certainly are
rooting for you, Tutor, we're speaking of Tutor Dixon, by
the way, everybody she won her Republican primary last night,
(03:52):
Trump endorsed MAGA supported candidate in Michigan a critical governor's race. Tutor,
you get into that governor's mansion, what are you going
to do for your state? Well, we have a huge
opportunity right now because parents are very engaged in education,
and Michigan has been trying to get choice in education
(04:12):
for many years. So we have the opportunity to pass
education freedom and allow dollars to follow the child, so
have our students funded instead of systems funded. Parents are
on board right now. They want to be involved in
education and also get some of those radical stuff out
of our schools. We have the Detroit Public School superintendent
come out and say they're deeply using CRT. We just
(04:35):
got our literacy exams back. Fifty percent of kids across
the state failed, but in Detroit it was nearly ninety
percent of those students in third grade failed their literacy exams.
That's atrocious. And when I talk to the teachers there,
they say it's directly related to the curriculum not being
focused on getting those core learned, those core teachings done
in those first four years of grade school. That's what
(04:57):
we can change immediately. We can get into our occasion system.
We can also go back to supporting rules law, make
sure that we are holding these prosecutors accountable to these
people they are just letting back out on the streets.
And make sure our police officers feel supported in the
state of Michigan. And then, like I said, our businesses
they feel as though they are under attacked by state
government constantly. She has this bureaucracy that is just weaponized
(05:22):
against our local businesses and they feel like they're being cited,
they're being fined, they're constantly being overregulated. The guidance and
all of our different departments have been reinterpreted so that
they can target our businesses. I come from a private
sector background. I understand that you don't want to be
targeted by your government. And I also understand the government
(05:44):
only works well if business is working well. And right now,
our businesses being like I said, targeted by state government
put out a business. They're strain on business. We have
people leaving the state now, we are in the population
decline because of the attack on the average person in
the state of Michigan. That's something we can change right away.
We want to reduce regulations in the state by forty
(06:07):
percent in the first four years, and we can do that.
We can also start looking at ways to come around
businesses and help them to expand and help them to
prosper quicker and easier in the state of Michigan. How
has the crime situation the last couple of years played
out in your state? Obviously, Detroit unfortunately has a longstanding
history as a place of pretty high crime overall. Has
(06:30):
it seen a spike And you mentioned the prosecutors, do
you also have to deal with and would you have
to deal with as the governor sorros back progressive prosecutors
in some of your main cities. Yes, we do and
our sky our crime rates have skyrocketed, were twice as
much as the national average. It's outrageous, but we have
(06:50):
seen this in other states where you see the elected officials,
and certainly the highest elected officials, if they come out
and they support defund the police, then you have police
officers that don't feel safe. They quit their jobs, they
leave their jobs, and it's hard to recruit new ones.
Gretchen Witmer has come out and said she supports the
spirit of defund the police. We now have record record
(07:13):
crime rates across the nation. We're spiking higher than other
other similar states. We also have the third highest homicide
rate in Detroit. We were getting so we're getting Detroit
back on track, getting Detroit to be one of the
great places to visit in the nation. And then Gretchen
Witmer took office and now we're seeing those crime rates
(07:33):
and homicide rates spike in the city of Detroit. But
we can fix that. Can you? In the state of
New York? I know it's possible, and at this very
state to state in New York though, and it's become
a big part of the gubernatorial race here with Leezelvin
trying to hocal I think is maybe the only governor
who's worse than Whitmer, although Brown and Oregon's pretty terrible too,
(07:54):
So the Brown Whitmer hocal. I think we're at a
special category of terrible governors. But anyway you can remove
a prosecutor as the governor, is that something that's in
your power in Michigan or if not, what are the
things that you would do to try to turn the
crime the crime rise around? Well, one of the things
that we must do in the state. It's not just
(08:14):
the governor's race. We have the attorney general's race as well,
and we need to make sure that we get Dana
Nussell out. Our attorney general is one of the most
radical attorney generals in the country. So that's key that
the voters come out for that as well, so that
we can get control back of the Attorney General's office
and take a look at some of these prosecutors out there.
But there are opportunities also as governor too, Like I said,
(08:37):
come around our law enforcement officers and make sure people
understand that rule of law is very important in the
state of Michigan, and also come around these young people.
Our highest number of issues interactions, negative interactions with police
is at the average traffic stop, and if we could
just go back to educating, we don't have that education
(08:57):
right now, and drivers said, but it's a really quick
to put in. Our Secretary of State she received that
request from the Police Officers Association of Michigan. She ignored
that request. It is time for us to say no.
We're demanding that students are learning where their most dangerous
interaction could occur and how to prevent it with just
compliance with our police officers who are putting their lives
(09:20):
on the line every day. Tutor Dixon running for governor
in Michigan critical race and I very much want to
see you defeat Gretchen Whitmer. Tutor. If anybody wants to
learn more about your campaign, get involved, where should they go?
Please check out our website. It's Tutor Dixon dot com.
That's t U D O R D I XO N
(09:40):
dot com. We love your support. We've got to get
her out. We need your help to do it. And
can I just ask you, because I have an unusual name,
where does the name it's such a cool name, where
does the name come from? My mom was just really
into English history and so the Tutors. I ended up
with that name, and so far it's actually been a
real blessing on the campaign trail. I think so very
(10:01):
good stuff, Tudor Dixon, thanks so much for calling and
great to talk to you. Thank you. World events now
cause more turbulence in stock markets here and abroad. Look
at the way stock markets reacted to our Speaker of
the House touching down in Taiwan yesterday. I mean that's
just one example. Every significant event has an exaggerated impact
on our markets. The Russian invasion of Ukraine, for example,
(10:22):
it's called a serious effect on commodity markets globally. How
do you protect yourself and your savings account in your
stock portfolio when there are all these events that are
so far out of your control. One sure way is
to diversify and includes precious metals like gold or silver
in your savings plan. Both have been proven over time
to hold their value in markets become turbulent. I rely
(10:43):
on the Oxford Gold Group for gold purchases. They're the
industry leader for so many reasons, starting with their advice
and their best pricing guarantees. I find value in purchasing
real gold. Gold is good, it's solid, and gold is
the key to making sure your investments are on solid footing.

and we have Kate in Cleveland, Ohio with a great reminder.
We're just talking about Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan. Kate, thanks
for calling in. What do you got? Oh? Hi? I
(11:28):
am yes, Kate, a mom from Cleveland. Gretchen Whitmer is awful.
We all know that she closes schools, She closed everything, restaurants,
beauty swans, everything Michigan. Michiganders couldn't even go up to
their own Michigan properties, which I found appalling. However, she
never got a gray hair on her head or a
wrinkle on her forehead, so she must have had some
way to get her hair done in her botmox and
(11:50):
botox can only be done in a medical setting, so
I'm just curious why we all aged twenty times in
twenty twenty and she looked as perfect as ever. And
remember polos See of course famously infamously shut down salons,
but not for her because she's really important. Remember and
the governor of Chicago, Laurie I'm sorry, Mayor of Chicago,
(12:11):
Laurie Lightfoot got a haircut when nobody else was able
to get a haircut. And when she was pressed on this,
she said, it's because I'm public facing. Basically, I'm important,
so I get to get a haircut. But you don't
remember I cut my own hair during COVID. I've got
to say I had an eye for it. Not bad,
not bad. Maybe a second career for me. But Kate,
the point you make also about Whitmer banning people order
(12:34):
of mind. Oh we got a big Michigan audience. I
want every Michigander to remember this Governor Whitmer banned you
from going from one house you own to another house.
So if you had a little lake house or a
cabin in the woods, you were not allowed under her
executive order to go from one to the other because
of COVID like a psychopath. Kate, thanks for calling in
(12:56):
accountability means reminding people of what was done on Witmer
hasn't faced an election yet she is now. Honestly, how
can how can anybody in Michigan vote for this woman. Honestly,
this is what I say about New Yorkers too with HOCl.
I if you're a New Yorker out there, you're gonna
vote for HOCl. I need to have a talk with you,
like I really need to know what part of the
(13:17):
woman who wears the vaccine necklace and wasn't even elected
in the first place, and has done nothing but say
idiotic things and make terrible decisions since she came into office.
Oh boy, it's frustrating. You know. It's gonna make me
happy though, talking about Governor Santis's latest when it comes
(13:39):
to the media the view. We're glad it exists here
because it provides both a window into the mind of
deranged Democrat cat ladies, right, it provides a window. I'm
sorry i'd cats. They're nice too. Sometimes the cat lady
(14:00):
swipe gets me into trouble. You know, I don't love
you like dogs over here a little bit, but cats
are fine to look. I'm the guy who says he
wants a pet fox. I will say it was still
amazing that we had a fox breeder call in when
I was talking about that, I have to sell carry
on this the notion of the When you say exotic pet,
I think everyone thinks you're gonna get like a fifteen
(14:20):
foot long bow constrictor or something. I I'd be happy with,
you know, a tame fox slash raccoon or something along
those lines. Maybe a member of the marsupial family. I
think it'd be cool. A wallaby. I did see video
once of a guy who had a pet wallaby in
New York. I'm certain that it was not legal, but no, no,
(14:42):
you're not allowed to have a pet wallaby here, but
he had one. Anyway, back to the View with the
ladies who weigh in on politics, and most of whom
I would bet have never I was gonna say, I've
never had a book on politics, but more just book.
What books have they read? But the ladies of the
(15:03):
View wanted Rhonda Santists to show up, and his staff
responded publicly and I wanted to share it with you.
Are the hosts of the View really interested? They wrote
in hearing from Governor de Santists about all the important
work he is doing on behalf of Floridians to protect
their health and livelihood, to stand up for parents and
children and defend freedom. Which of the following statements from
(15:26):
the hosts of the view do you recommend our team
consider when deciding if the interview will be a genuine
pursuit of the truth. This is from Ron's press secretary.
They called Rhonda Santists a fascist and a bigot in June.
In August of twenty twenty one, Joy Behar called him
a quote homicidal sociopath in love with his white supremacist basse.
(15:52):
But oh yeah, Governor Descantists should totally show up to
have these abject morons all just got you know, squawk
at him and gall at him, are freaked out at
him at the same time. Absolutely not. Remember when Ron
delt when Ron had the CBS that slimy, underhanded CBS attack,
(16:13):
they rented him. Oh, he's getting money from public, so
he doesn't care about the old people dying from COVID.
When it comes to vaccine distribution, remember how we handled that.
They calculated that ninety percent of their seniors live within
a mile and a half of the public's and they said,
we think that would be the easiest thing for our residents.
So we did that, and what ended up happening was
you had sixty five publics in Palm Beach. Palm Beach
(16:34):
is one of the biggest counties, one of the most
elderly counties. We've done almost seventy five percent of the
seniors in Palm Beach, and the reason is because you
had the strong retail footprint. So our way has been multifaceted.
It has worked, and we're also now very much expanding
CBS and Walgreens now that they've completed the long term
care mission. Guess and it's wrong. It's wrong. It's a
(16:58):
fake narrative. I just dis abused you of the narrative,
and you don't care about the facts because obviously I
laid it out for you in a way that is irrefutable,
and so it's clearly not no, no, no, you're wrong.
Ronnie d with the roundhouse kick. You gotta love it.
You gotta love it. That's how you. The lib media
is dishonest and they're pushing an agenda and to treat
(17:21):
them as though just because they call themselves media. In
the case of the View, I don't even know what
that is. If it's media, it's I don't know if
it's supposed to be news, politics, commentary. It's a conversational show.
Don't play their game, don't give them what they want.
This is We've seen this with the debates too. This
is a big thing Republicans have realized. Why are we
letting CNN libs who hate Republicans moderate our debates. It's moronic.
(17:44):
It's changing, thankfully, onto something really important here, folks. Thanks
to people like you, the Tunnel the Towers Foundation delivers
on its promise to do good and never forget the
sacrifices of America's greatest heroes. Heroes like n NYPD officer Familia,
who couldn't wait to join the NYPD to protect her community.
She proudly wore her uniform, but was ambushed and shot
(18:06):
dead in line of duty, solely because of that uniform.
She survived by three children and her daughter Genesis, who
was twenty at the time of the murder and became
the sole guardian and provider for her twin siblings, Peter
and Delilah, who were twelve. But thanks to your generosity,
Tunnel to Towers gave her children a mortgage free home.
For some families, the foundation brings the comfort of knowing
(18:27):
they can stay in the home where they made memories
with their fall in loved one. For other families, the
foundation enables new memories to be cherished forever. Help our
nation's greatest heroes and their families done it eleven dollars
a month to tunnet the Towers that T two T
dot org. Both Clay and I donate every month to
tunnelt the Towers. Please join us in this mission. Go
(18:48):
right now to this website T two t dot org.
That's T the number two T dot org. Welcome back
to Clay and Buck Show. Years ago, I was asked
by The Hill dot com to move down to d
C while I was a syndicated premier host on six
to nine now, a slot that my good buddy Jesse
(19:10):
Kelly of Fantastic Radio host is in. But I moved
down to DC and I was launching a show called Rising,
and I lasted about a year and a half and
then I had to come back to New York for radio,
and well, you know the rest, because here I am.
But there were some great folks who stepped in afterwards,
(19:30):
including well Kim Iverson, who was with us now. She
was one of the hosts most recently on Rising, and
then she decided to leave. It's a very popular digital show.
She decided to leave. I want to talk to her
about why that is, because it involves the FOUCH from
what I understand, Kim, thanks so much for joining us. Also,
where where can people find your work these days? Because
(19:50):
obviously not Rising, so where should they go? Yeah? Thank
thank you for having me on And yeah, people can
find me now obviously not on but on my own
YouTube channel Kim iverson show and also on Rumble Rock
fan locals. So I'm just kind of all over the
place digitally at the moment, just not affiliated with any
(20:11):
corporate media outlets. I am among the people who is
one of the earliest and most outspoken anti Fauci people.
Don't I can't speak for you. I don't know if
you would. I just say that I'm like, I think
Fauci is awful. I think he has He has ruined
the mental health of people that I know with his
pronouncements and stuff. Tell us what happened and why you left,
(20:34):
and how Fauci plays into all of this, because everything
that goes near Fauci, I think gets turned into something bad.
What happened, well, I started Rising a year ago when
Crystal and Soger left the show, and they were kind
of looking for all of these different hosts, and I
started started in as a fill in host. Did people
still refer to the guy with great hair who left
(20:56):
before that? Or was that not really a thing happening then?
I'm just kidding, keep going, keep going. You're supposed to
say yes, Kim, but anyway, go ahead, of course, of course, yes,
you know. And I used to watch the show actually
when you when you and Crystal were first on it,
and I thought, wow, that's such a cool idea. You know,
they've got this digital program going and whatnot. But she
is very progressive by the way, just over his stands
like so I talked to the other side, keep going. Yes.
(21:20):
So I did the show for a year. Some of
my most popular segments were on COVID the pandemic response Fauci.
I was very very critical of all of it. I
really was opposed to lockdowns, mandates, rolling out vaccines that
you know, I just felt weren't tested enough, emergency youth
authorization and mandating them and whatnot. So I was extremely
(21:40):
critical of all of those things, including Fauci built a
name on that show with those segments, brought in loads
of you millions of viewers actually to rising with those
segments in particular, and was doing those for a year.
And then what happened was I found out that doctor
Fauci was being booked as a guest on the show.
(22:02):
And since we had actually all been really critical of Fauci.
It wasn't just me, it was you know, Robbie Suave,
my co host, had his own criticisms of the mask man. Yeah,
I know, Robbie, Robbie's a good man, yep. Yeah. And
Ryan Graham had his own criticisms about the lab leak
theory and how that was handled and whatnot. So we
all had been really kind of raking Fauci over the
coals over this last year. Really, I mean, no one
(22:23):
was really in supportive him on that show, but I
in particular that was really sort of my beat was
talking about COVID in the pandemic response, and they had
then said, Okay, Fauci's on the show, but they didn't
really announce that. I didn't really I found out sort
of in this thislike, you know, I wasn't. I don't
think I was supposed to find out that Fauci was
going to be a guest on the show. So I
(22:43):
got but I did, and I found out, and I
was really excited, and I was like, oh, I've got
all these questions for Fauci. I can't believe it. And
this was on Monday, not this last money, the money
before that, we were supposed to interview him. So Sunday
night is when I found out. And of course when
the producers realized I found out, they called me and
they said, hey, yeah, so about that Fauci interview. You know,
(23:04):
you're not really supposed to be in that interview. When
the Faucci team asked over and over apparently, who are
the hosts? Who are the hosts? Who are the hosts?
And the Hill went back and gave them two different
hosts names and not mine, and I am a consistent
fixture on that show. I had been front and center
on that show for the last year. And they had
given them Robbie Swabi's name, and also Bacha and Gersergan,
(23:27):
who I really adore, but she was but she's been
a fill in kind of a new She hasn't hosted
the show many times, maybe three times. So the Faucci
Minions are the background because this is something that we've
dealt with Faucci has claimed this is the largest radio
show by audience in the country. It is the house
that Rash built and we are trying to continue in
his legacy, but this is the biggest radio show about it.
(23:48):
Faucci's team has said they are too busy to do
this show, Kim, just so you know, that is their
response to us. But keep going right, and the producers
kind of said the same thing, like, well, you know,
we're not even really surf. He's actually going to go
through the interview. This has been a really tough interview
to get. They've been really you know him and in
high and they're not exactly committing. But they keep asking
us who the hosts are? Who the hosts are, So
(24:09):
they continued to give them the other two hosts name
and not my name, and I just said to them, look,
that's totally unacceptable. The audience, which is a very anti establishment,
populist audience, independent minded, they're not going to accept me
not being on this interview. They want me on that interview.
The reason the audience is there is because they've been
watching my pandemic response videos. Specifically, they're going to want
(24:32):
me in that interview. And if you don't have be
in that interview. It's going to be obviously suspect the
audience will revolt. They will not trust you. You need
the audience to trust you. So they you know, they
agreed that night and they said, okay, you know, all right,
we understand. And then the next morning, when I was
getting ready to do my radar and get you know,
getting ready to do the show, they the executive producer
(24:54):
called and she says, hey, I have to have this
really uncomfortable conversation with you, but you know, we round
this kind of up the chain, and everybody agreed, you know,
from the senior vice president of programming and the general
manager and the editor in chief and the executive producers
of the show that they had all discussed and they
all agreed that basically because they'd already gone to Faucci's
(25:16):
team and said that these other two hosts would be
the host that they weren't willing to go back and
make a correcting him. Why bounce you so scared of you?
I mean, he's a bureaucrat, He never wants to give
up this job. He's the highest paid federal govern employee.
Why is he such a coward? Well, he obviously doesn't
want to face any actual real criticism or questions that
actually have meaning. I mean, one thing we've seen with
(25:37):
Fauci going on all of these networks is he's asked
these very softball questions. They champion him, they treat him
like he's a celebrity. They don't actually challenge the thinking
or the logic, which just doesn't exist. There's no logic
behind a lot of the things in this pandemic response.
So nobody wants to ask him those questions because he
can't answer them. He would just look like a bumbling buffoon.
(25:58):
But I actually don't even know if Fauci's team would
have said yes or no to me. We didn't even
give them the chance the Hill, And this is why
I was so upset, was because the Hill refused to
even give them my name. They were afraid of my name.
They knew if they told Fauci my name that Founci
would likely back out of the interview. He likely wouldn't
(26:18):
do it. But they actually don't know that. I was like,
just go aft. If he says no, he's not willing
to do the interview, then fine, we go public and
we tell why are they so afraid of Fauci Cam.
I mean the guy for years, He's been on TV
every every five minutes. I mean, he lives in the
CNN green room, right. So that was my other beef
with it, which is this is not really an exclusive.
Fauci is everywhere. We hear from this guy all the time.
(26:41):
This is not like, oh, you got this guy who
never speaks, he rarely comes out. I mean, this guy's
out all the time. But yeah, they didn't want to
lose that interview, and I just felt like, look, we
go back to the American people and we tell the
audience Fouci wouldn't face us that he is a government worker.
He works for the American people, and he wouldn't face us.
That is a huge problem. But instead they just wouldn't
(27:03):
go to the Fauci team and say, hey, by the way,
actually our host, who's actually the most recognizable host on
the show, who brings in the most viewers about this subject,
Kim Iverson, she wants to interview you. They wouldn't even
ask that question. Can I ask you what is the
first I mean, you know, you could pretend I'm Faucci
for a second. What is the first question that you
would have asked. I mean, I know there's a million
(27:24):
like I could. I would do a three hour podcast
with Fauci if I could, going over all of it,
and I think nobody would ever listen to him ever
again by the end of it. But the point is,
if you had one thing right now, what would it
be so we can get it out there? What is
a vaccine? I would like to know what a vaccine
is in his mind, because we Americans, as we've been raised,
we believed that if you've got a shot of something,
(27:46):
that that meant you were not going to get that disease.
If I go get the smallpox vaccine, I think I'm
not getting smallpox. If I get the measles vaccine, I
think I'm not getting measles. Right saying with polio. That
is how we speak as Americans using English. Right say vaccine,
and we all kind of know what that means, so
what exactly, But that's changed. They've obviously changed the definition,
(28:06):
and now vaccine means I don't know what and I
would like to know what he means when he says
vaccine because that has changed so drastically and it's caused
so much contention in American society right now amongst our families,
our friends, we've got people who are calling people anti vaccs,
are saying, if you're not taking this shot, there's something
you can't come around my society. And if you're not
(28:26):
taking shot number four actually and tune to be five,
six and seventy as we all know, right, So I
would like to know his definition of what is a vaccine.
I'd like him to clarify that for the American people
so that we all are on the same page as
to how this definition has shifted and what that means.
So you know, because well, vaccines are mandated all the time,
like you know, the military, they're all mad they use
(28:48):
these arguments, but we all have an understanding of what
those vaccines meant. Yeah, I got to tell you, I
think I got like a dozen vaccines where I was
in the CIA, and for diseases I had literally never
heard of before. If I had still gotten all those diseases,
I would have been really upset about it. I would
have felt like I got you know, I got the
wrong end of the stick on this one. Kim Iverson,

com because we've already started this with the Sexton family
frenchie to Lula, who is now thirteen years young, which
for a frenchie you know, means she's like you know,
they always do these ads are not ads. They'll do
these news stories and they'll say that someone you know,
here's Ethel Ethel's one hundred and fifteen years old, and
(32:32):
they're like, Ethel, how'd you last so long? She's like, well,
I smoked two packets of cigarettes a day and eight
bacon every morning. You know, you go, wow, Ethel made
it a lot. And she's you know, still going, still kicking.
Thirteen for a frenchie is getting getting up there. So
to Lula, looks great, though, looks great. I gotta say
this from my mom's gal. I mean, she's a Frenchy supermodel.
(32:53):
Frenchies are so much fun. So I send us your
dog photos and we'll put some up on the website.
Also appreciate all of the the movie and TV references
that people or refer what's the word I'm looking for recommendations,
thank you recommendations that people have been sending in. I
(33:13):
just checked with Carrie La fiancee may we being Sarah,
and we're probably going to be checking out Justified. I
think Justified seems like that's the we that one more
than any other because and also I appreciate that because
that's not at that same level of famous show that
you have with say like a Game of Thrones or
(33:34):
Breaking Bad or one of these massive, massive mega hit
shows that everybody's heard of, but sounds like a really
good show. I'll check out Long may Er two seems
like a pretty pretty good one for me to see
one thing that was funny. I was just so curious
about this, so I was looking into the history of
the flat cap. Do you guys know this? So you
ever there? They've been a staple in Anglo Irish and
(34:00):
American culture now for hundreds of years. It's like that,
you know, people in New York used to call them,
I think cabby hats because a lot of cab drivers
used to wear them. They've got a bunch of different names,
but a flat cap. There's there's all these different uh
they call them Newsy caps for the news guys, you know,
the newspaper route guys back in there, like I s
the twenties or whatever. And I just kind of look
(34:22):
because Peaky Blinders, which I am watching now on my
own and is an amazing show, and a lot of
you've written and also saying thank you for the look
by order of the Peaky Blinders. You've got to watch it,
all right. It's so so good. Not for the kids.
It's an adults only kind of a show. But it's
really really good. But I was curised with so I
actually looked it up because I find that some of
(34:42):
the stories about things like this are fascinating. I talked
not long ago about how the tricorn hat, which we
always think of as George Washington and Fife's, and I
think that's what the little flute right to the sets
of Fife right and you know, the drums and the
revolution and old thing. Turns out the track corn hat
actually comes from Spanish mercenaries of the peasant class in
(35:06):
Spain who were then deployed to fight a war in Flanders.
And then those mercenaries came into contact with the Brits
and they realized it made sense to fold up the
hat so that you had more room for the musket
you were carrying during parade maneuvers. That's where we get
tri corn hatter. It was actually a wide brimmed hat
(35:28):
used in the fields. Anyway, The flat cap comes from England.
In the fifteen seventies they passed a Statute of Apparel,
which sounds like a law that means you have to
wear a cool clothing. You know, got gotta look sharp.
The Statute of Apparel passed in fifteen seventy one said
that all English citizens above the age of six except nobility,
(35:51):
on the sabbath and holidays had to wear caps of
wool manufactured in England, and this was to support the
virgin wool industry. This was a trade policy thing effectively,
or a manufacturing policy that then turned into hundreds of
years of people wearing these kind of funny looking wool
(36:13):
hats in England and Ireland in the US. So you
see these flat caps. They actually came back in style
a little while ago. You know, the more you know
and knowing is half the bottle. Thanks for rolling with
me today, everybody. Great to have you hanging here. I'll
be back tomorrow again. Clay on vacation so I'll be solo,
but I know we'll have a lot of news talk
about and Friday I'll be down in Florida, get a
(36:35):
little bit of sun. So doing the show from Florida.
Looking forward to it. Team over and Out, Fleet, Travis
and Buck Sexton on the front lines of truth.
