Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of the Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast. Welcome to Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.
I'm Buck and the January sixth Commission in the headlines
this week, Democrats now rallying around Pelosi after she blocked
(00:20):
two people, Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana,
two members of Congress, from being on the committee. But
we got one of them with us right now, Congressman
Jim Jordan, sir, great to have you with Clay and
Buck here. Thank you. Good to be with you guys.
Congratulations on the show and good to be with you today.
Thank you. What what happened with this commission? Why? Why
(00:40):
did Pelosi block you and Banks? What's going on? Yeah,
I mean I don't know. I mean I think it
first of all, it shows it's just it's it's true politics.
As I said the other day, what else they gonna
talk about. I mean, they're gonna talk about the rising
crime in every city. They're gonna talk about the fact that,
you know, we've got the crisis on our border. You know,
it's interesting think about that. For a second. March was
(01:01):
the worst month on record for illegal crossings until April,
and April was the worst month on record until May,
and then May was the worst month on record until June.
That's what you call a bad trend and certainly a crisis.
So they can't talk about that. They can't talk about
the price of I mean, frankly, the price of everything
has gone up. So I think it's just politics, this
whole thing. And then my guess is they didn't want
(01:21):
us on there because we were going to ask the
fundamental question, which is why wasn't there a proper security
presence that day? And frankly, that's a question only to
speak of the House can answer. And my guess is
they didn't want that that question continually brought up and
hearing that were you know, going to happen? Why do
you think that security presence was so weak on that day?
And I know that the data and the analysis and
(01:43):
everything else is still out there. Jim, this is Clay,
Thanks for coming on with us. Uh, yeah, what do
you think happen? Like? Why is that not a bigger story? No,
it's it's it's it's the question too it And my
hunch is this it's because they couldn't bring out the
national guard they could and have police there, because what
if they do all of twenty twenty, they downgraded the police,
(02:05):
they attacked the police, they defunded the police, and they
said it was peaceful protests. I mean they normalized anarchy.
And so when you normalize root of writing and looting,
and then when the same writers and looters who attacked police,
destroyed small businesses, hurt innocent civilians, and then Democrats did
(02:26):
what raise money to bail them out of jail, it's
kind of tough then to say, oh, by the way,
we need more of you here on January sixth, after
a whole year doing that. Have you ever seen anything,
Congressman Jordan, that has been such a focus of the
Democrats that has received this level of hyperbole. I mean,
you know, we could talk about Russia collusion and other
(02:47):
fantasies that that seemed to grip the swamp for years
on end. But they've said and I'm not I'm not
making these quotes up. I mean, people can look them
up for themselves. Prominent Democrats, prominent broadcasters have things like
this is the worst attack on our democracy since the
Civil War, that this was in fact, there were a
couple of people on MSNBC who said this was worse
(03:08):
than nine to eleven, which was truly deeply insulting. What
is this? I mean, it's just the whole thing to
me just strikes me that they're they're un serious people,
but they're a serious challenge to the future of this country. Yeah. Well,
I mean, first of all, it was a serious in
a bad day, no doubt about it, and people who
did wrong. It's a riot and people should be punished
(03:31):
for rioting, no matter what they're politics. Yeah, and we've
always said that and it and frankly it's happening. Five
hundred people have been prostituted. So um, that's why it's
supposed to work in our great system, in our country,
the greatest country ever. But this is just part of
this always gotta get President Trump. I mean, they've been
doing it for five years and you know, we can
(03:51):
go through the thing. But it's it was Muller, it
was impeachment one. It was impeachment too, and here they
go again. So it's part of this, this this bigger phenomena.
They've been out to get the president and anything the
president does, anything that they can try to blame on him,
they're going to do. And as I said before, what
else can they talk about? I mean, this has to
be any common sense, any rational logical person who looks
(04:15):
as this. This has to be the worst six months
start to any administration, certainly in our lifetime. I mean,
we've never seen anything like this. We went from a
secure border to a crisis. We went from piece in
the Middle East, the rockets, thousands of rockets being fired
on our best ally is real. We went from a
great economy before COVID of coming back to a good
economy now that we're getting out of COVID with the
(04:36):
vaccine everything else. And what does Joe Biden do screw
it up? They do the four most dumb things you
can do. Democrats. They continue to want to lock down
their economies. They spend like crazy, They pay people not
to work, and all for the people who are working.
Guess what they're getting ready to do, raizers, taxes, four
stupid ideas. But that's what they're doing. So they got
nothing else to talk about. So they're gonna go go
back to their old playbook, run the same off tackle
(04:58):
play which is we're gonna go after President Home. Jim,
you're good friends with President Trump. What is your read
on his plans going forward. We had him on the
show a couple of weeks ago, and he said he
would make his decision on whether to run again once
the midterms happened in twenty twenty two. What do you
think about his personal kind of position right now and
(05:19):
what do you think he's likely to decide based on
your relationship with him? Great question. I will be shocked
if he doesn't run. Every time I talked to him,
every indication that now, he hasn't official announced it. And
I understand that, and he's gonna wait until, as he said,
after the midterms. But I would be shocked if he
doesn't run. I want him to run. I want him
to win. And it's it is for this basic reason.
(05:40):
You tell me one president who has done more of
what they said they would do than President Trump. No one.
He said he would cut taxes, he did. He said
he would reduced regulations. He did. He said to get
out the Crazy I randal, he did. He said he
put the Mbassy introversalim he did. He said he put
conservatis on the courts. He did. He put three on
the Supreme Court, a whole bunch of them. In our
federal courts system for me. Everything he told us he
was going to do a game, and he would have
got a lot more done if it wasn't for everyone
(06:03):
in that town, every Democrat, everyone in the mainstream media,
and all too many never Trump or Republicans were opposed
to him. And in spite of all that, he got
all that stuff done. So I definitely want him to run.
I hope he does, and I will be shocked if
he doesn't. What's the scuttle butt on the Democratic side
that you pick up. Do you think that they are
as terrified of Kamala Harris as some stories are out
(06:24):
there as her being the nominee in twenty twenty four?
Do you think they try to drag Biden across the
finish line again? What are the Democrats do? Yeah? I
don't know. I do think they realize that, you know,
this is this is terrible again. That's why they they
focused on the January six for they can't, they can't
focus on anything else. It's because it's so bad, and frankly,
(06:48):
it's gotten to the point where it's it's embarrassing. We're
the greatest nation ever and our commander in chief shows
no strength to our adversaries. I think our adversaries see
the same thing we do. So I don't know if
President Biden will will run again. I don't know if
it'll be Kamala Harris and Frankly, I mean I I
(07:09):
think if they're an election of to day, of course
it's not. We're three and a half years away from
a presidential election. I don't see how they win. I
think so many Americans are like, we didn't barkings for this,
and there has to be buyer's remorse for some people
who were four Trump and then for some reason switch,
which you know, shocks me why they did. But some
people I think did that Now they're thinking like what
was I think? And look at the messiest guy. Think
about this, The price of every eggs, bread, milk, the gasoline, lumber,
(07:35):
airline tickets, used cars. You can't name one thing where
the price hasn't went up, which we all know is
a tax on everyone. And yet I can just feel
the unity washing over the country every time these Democrats
give a speech or over their mouths Congress. But it
feel it feels like they just they're just giving a
big hug to the Republicans. Grahampa Joe wants to hold
(07:55):
us close to his bosom. We're all going to be friends. Yeah, right,
What is your sense of how we're looking? We mentioned
the presidential race, but going into the mid terms here
and you know, in a matter of months will will
really be in the cycle. How are we shaping up there?
I mean, what do you think it's gonna look like
when all said and done in the next the next congress. Yeah,
(08:17):
I mean we're gonna win. Kevin McCarthy's gonna Speaker of
the House. Um, it's gonna happen now again, but he
a year and a half away, and you know, you
guys know you've been around this business. A year and
a half in politics is a long long time. But
if the election were tomorrow, I think we'd crush them. Um,
because again, people are just just sped up the other
issues that I think Americans are so fed up with,
and this is not going to go away because you
(08:37):
see what they're trying to do now relative to UH,
to the to the COVID in the Delta Varya and
everything else. People are nervous about the attack on the
First Amendment and their fundamental liberty. I mean, what Jinsaki
did a week ago where she stood up there and
she says, we're where She said, first of all, uh
big tax in these platforms is where so many people
get their news, So I E that's part of the press.
(08:59):
And then she said, we're telling them what they should
do and what que misinformation they should take down, what
should they what information they should allow. And I'm like,
if that's not a direct attack on the First Amendment
freedom of the press, I don't know what is. So
you think about every single liberty we enjoy as Americans
under the First Amendment, every one of them has been
attacked and assaulted over the last couple of years. Congressman,
(09:19):
I got to ask before let you go the Gerham report.
We used to hear about it a lot. We haven't
seen it obviously. Are we going to Is it going
to matter? You were on this from the very beginning.
People like me have not forgotten about the spying on
the Trump administration, the lying about it by the Democrats,
by the intel community, the press. Are we going to
(09:40):
get answers? I mean, your guess is as good as mine.
We were supposed to have this over a year ago,
So I just do not know. We have not heard
squats from from the Justice Department. The Democrats refused to
bring having brought Marrick Garland for his sort of obligatory
hearing that that happens every year in front of the
Judiciary Committee. So I don't know. I mean, at this point,
(10:02):
maybe we'll get the Durham report on January twenty of
twenty twenty five, when President Trump is sworn in for
the next term. But at this point, I don't know.
I mean, it's it's it's crazy, and it's probably the
number one question I get still is when is someone
going to jail? When is someone going to be held accountable?
When are we going to hold these people accountable who
we know abused their position. I just don't know. I
(10:24):
do not know, Jim. I know you're a sports fan.
Today the Cleveland Indians announced that they now are the
Cleveland Guardians. This is not a made up story like
this is real. For people out there who may not
have heard of this, the Cleveland Indians, longtime Major League
Baseball franchise, in order to avoid offending people, are now
the Cleveland Guardians. When you see a story like this,
(10:46):
what's your reaction? He just laughs, because the folks I
get the privilege are representing in West central and north
central Ohio, many of them Cleveland Indians fans. They're just like,
what the what the heck, what's the world. I guess
it's slightly better than the Cleveland baseball team. Uh so,
uh you know, but but not much. And it's just like,
come on, can't we just get to I mean, for
(11:09):
this is this is why you Clay. You know this
better than anyone. This is why so many people don't
watch sports anymore. Yeah, the left is the I think
it was Prager who said a while back, the left
ruins everything it touched. I mean, left controls big media,
the left controls big tech, the left controls Hollywood, the
left controls higher education. Who left controls big corporations? The
left no control big sports. And we're like no, No,
sports was the one place where all you did was
(11:29):
covered the winners. Who won the game, who lost the game,
who made the winning hit, who made the winning play,
who made the winning I mean it's like now it's like,
I don't know, we gotta give politics on the freaking
sports page two, and no one likes it. There's no
doubt at all. By the way, Jim, I'm an SEC guy,
what do you think about Texas Oklahoma both going to
the SEC. Reportedly, the Big Ten's gonna have to make
some moves. I know I saw that the Badgers. Uh,
(11:53):
you know, I always sit for the Badgers in the
bucket show. That'll be tough if that was those two
teams to come in, and then what what does the
Big twelve do? And you know, I don't know, but
in this whole, this whole image and likeness thing, We're
going to see how that shakes out. But my concern,
frankly is a guy who comes from one of the
non revenue sports and always focus on on wrestling and
some of the other sports that don't you know, don't
generate the revenue for big, big college athletics. Is I
(12:16):
hope those sports can survive and do fun because giving
student athletes and young men and young women opportunity to
compete and participate. I'm afraid some of those things are
going to go away when so much revenue and things
are focused on the others. But I understand the need
for it. But let's just hope college athletes athletics can
continue to go and we can we can offer a
lot of opportunity for young people to participate in chase
(12:38):
down the goal. Congressman, thanks so much for joining us.
Constrom Jim Jordan of Ohio. Have a great weekend, sir,
come back soon, all right, take care. You know, we
got a testimonial in here. Clay from Pamela and Pennsylvania said,
I purchased your product about two and a half weeks ago,
and I'm amazed at how much better I feel. I
own a llama farm, big hit or the lama, and
was breeding two of them, and the male got a
(13:00):
little excited and threw me into a gait. Oh gosh.
I fractured my tailbone and partially tore my hamstring. Those
are very painful injuries, so I thought maybe I'd take
a chance with relief Factor. All I have to say
is that it has cut my pain in half. I'm
not as tired. I'm more energetic because the pain was
draining me. My pain is not consuming me like it
did three weeks ago. Thank you so very much. The
(13:22):
pain went down substantially thanks to relief Factor. My parents
are taking relief Factor. My mom's on it, my dad's
on it. Helps my dad with golf. Clay, I know
Missus Travis, who is, by the way, a specimen. When
she finished twelve miles this morning, she said, yeah, yeah,
she's gonna live to be one hundred and fifteen. He's
only forty four so far. But she works out so far,
(13:44):
so hard that she's got aches and pains. And she
looked at this product and she said, this is everything
that somebody who's trying to stay healthy needs to have
in their life. And so you got to join her,
and your dad and your mom and hundreds of thousands
of other people who've made the decision to get Relief Factor,
and seventy percent of them, by the way, go on
(14:04):
to order more. Join them more than half a million
people and order the three week Quick Start Frombly nineteen
ninety five. Go to relief Factor dot com or call
eight hundred four Relief to get the nineteen ninety five
three week quick Start developed four you relief Factor dot
com or call eight hundred the number four Relief or
Relief Factor Feel the Difference. Welcome back in Clay Travis
(14:35):
buck Sexton Friday edition of the program. I hope all
of you are having a good role into your weekend.
I know we are. Jim Jordan man, he gets a
lot out at a relatively short period of time. Really
good dude. Appreciate him coming on and hanging out with us.
And when you hear him talk and how smooth and
(14:55):
efficient and effective he is at making arguments, you kind
of g a sense of what's really at play here.
As the January sixth investigation continues to play itself out,
Chuck Schumer, of course, said there was absolutely no doubt.
There was no way for Jim Jordan that he could
be a member of this committee. Let's listen to good
(15:16):
old Chuck. So Speaker Pelosi had no choice but to
move on her own, as she did, and she put
together a commission. I couldn't believe that Leader McCarthy put
two people who said, basically who really didn't believe, who
just sort of supported the big lie that did all this.
You know that the election was stolen and Donald Trump
(15:37):
should really be president, which has no factual basis. So
she was right not to let them stay on the commission.
And I still believe what she put together. While a bipartisan,
non partisan nine to eleven commission would have been better,
better to have this and it has you know, Liz
Cheney on it. She's hardly a Democrat, but she's a
seeker of truth. We need to get to the bottom
(15:57):
of this. There are so many unanswered questions. One of
the most serious assaults on our democracy that's happened in
our whole history. I gotta tell you, Chuck Schumer's actually impressive, Clay,
because to be that disingenuous, that's slimy as a politician
all at once. Oh yeah, Liz Cheney's a truthseeker. That's
(16:18):
why they like Liz Cheney. Maybe they could just bring
on the folks from the Lincoln Project to tell us
what the conservative base thinks these days. This is stupid
beyond words. But I also love that Pelosi does something unprecedented,
petty and spiteful. But Clay, she had no choice. There
(16:38):
was no choice when she made the choice to do
this thing that no one ever does on these committees,
saying McCarthy pulled all of his nominees. Now you get
into this childish back and forth. But here's the thing.
It has to all be about the drama because it's
not about the facts. The January sixth Commission is, as
I said at bucksexon dot com today, an unfunny joke
(17:00):
the whole thing that they're not. They're not even releasing
the video they have from inside the Capitol. Let us
see what happened. Let us see the terrifying granny's walking
around taking selfies inside That first of all, should happen, right,
But I in love playing clips of people who are
guests on this show, and they come on and they're
(17:21):
imminently reasonable, and you listen to them and you say,
you know what that's you know, you can agree or
disagree with political opinions. That that's the great thing about politics.
My mom all used to say, uh, you know, opinions
are like butts. Everybody's got one right, and so you
can agree or disagree with whatever opinions are out there.
But when these guys get attacked like happen with Rand Paul.
(17:42):
When we play Joy Behar we're playing Chuck Schumer here
talking about Jim Jordans, you see how unfair the attacks
often are. That Jim Jordan's perspective is not radical. On
January six, that's just Hey, the guys should be punished.
Who did something wrong. That's it. We'll come back into
some of your calls because it is open line Friday
(18:03):

James Golden, host of the podcast series Rush Lumbob, the
(19:08):
Man behind the Golden EIB microphone. The next episode in
our series is out make sure to listen wherever you
get your podcast. We're sharing so many behind the scene stories,
remembering the man we all love and miss, Tunnel to
Towers Foundation and my pillow of both sponsors. Welcome back
(19:33):
to the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. I'm Buck
here with my Maymac Clay, and we're gonna be taking
your calls in just a second. Eight hundred two eight
two two eight a two. That's eight hundred two eight two,
you know that number, two eight eight two, and we're
gonna Clay Onbuck dot com the website for updates on
everything we're talking about here, stories, pictures of Clay's cats,
pictures of my family dog, good good things going on there.
(19:56):
The cats performed very well on the website, Clay. That
was bit of a surprise for some folks. I know
that there's a lot of families out there that bought
got new pets for you know, the lockdowns and everything
else is going on. My wife really just totally snookered
me on this process because the kids were out of
school at the time and I'm not a big cat guy,
(20:16):
and she had the three boys do a persuasive speech
which closed out with my then five year old arguing
why the family had to have cats. And so next thing,
you know, Dad's a sucker. You know, the kids all
got lined up and I got out voted. I like
the lawyer in you. It was like a presentation in
a case. You know, you're the judge. You know, yeah,
(20:38):
you got a little litigator in the making there, my
friend ready to get You know, the cat litigation was effective.
You know what, I always already try to get my
kids used to making arguments because about like who caused problems.
So if they're yelling at each other and they're fighting,
I say, all right, calmed down, Judge Dad is in session.
You make your case about what your brother did and
(20:59):
what he did. And so they have to stand there
and make the argument about what their brother did, and
then the other one gets to respond and defend themselves,
and then Judge Dad aka me, issues a ruling which
oftentimes is not well received, but at a minimum, they
are getting you used to having to advocate for themselves
and argue in a you know, sort of a public
(21:20):
forum there, speaking about instead of just screaming at each other.
If we have anybody on our and anyone out there
cross the country, if you are a French bulldog or
an English bulldog breeder, follow me on Facebook, Facebook dot
com slash buck Sex and he's hopefully are doing that anyway,
but send send me some infol because I Clay, I
think I think it's time. I think it's good time
for the buckster to get because we are soliting a dog,
(21:41):
we are soliciting a breeder. Yeah, I'm that's right. If
someone out there has a has a a brood of
frenchy or English bulldog puppies, I want to know about it.
What's the I don't know the difference between the frenchy
and the English, Like, what's the difference between these types
of the frenchy is smaller, the English is larger, more
sort of a squadshed face, bigger head. They're both bull
(22:02):
Georgia bulldog would be like the traditional bulldog. But then
they have like miniaturized versions of the bulldog basics. Right,
So if French she's like a small version of an
English bulldog. And yeah, the bulldog like the Georgetown Hoya
that that's that's an English bulldog. So anyway, I'm a
bulldog guy. I love them. So if you got if
you got a great breeder. If there is a great
breeder out there, Facebook dot com, slash buck sex and
(22:23):
tell me shameless plugged, shapeless plug you know, I mean,
I gotta find a good I gotta find the good
bloodlines here for the right bulldog. It's essential. And well,
you know what, actually what we were going to talk
about crime and all that stuff. But I feel like
we should get to calls now because I've I've gotten
I've gotten too deep into this one, and we've got
all these wonderful people who want to weigh in. And
I think Jean's call and stock let's come back to
(22:44):
the crime topic and what happened to dc UM because
we're having too much fun and that's a serious topic.
Gene in Stockholm, New Jersey, you're talking about Buck and
Clay on the Clay and Buck Show. Hey, guys, thanks
so much for taking that call. I think that there
are two main reasons why the Biden administration wants to
keep the fear and the narrative of COVID alive. The
(23:06):
first one is that if there was one issue that
Joe Biden went on in the last presidential election, it
was COVID. I think they need to keep the illusion
alive that he is a hero. I think they need
to keep the focus off of his ridiculously poor performance
as a president. And number two, if there was an
advantage that Joe Biden had in that general election, it
(23:28):
was the protocol and the rules that the state's changed
because of COVID, And I think the Democrats are fighting
and scraping to keep that advantage. Can I say, Jean,
I think I think your analysis about Biden and the
hero worship around him the Democrats are trying to create
is incredibly astute. I would co sign with it insofar
as this is the only thing that they can point
(23:50):
to at this stage and say, look what a great
job he's done. Look at how more efficient it has
been with the vaccine. Now, I don't think that's even true,
but they can't even make that case about anything else.
The borders, a mass crime, is a mess. What's actually
the economy's stalled out. Unemployment is higher than it should be,
inflation is rising. So Gene, I'm with you, Clay, what
(24:12):
do you think I think Joe Biden is Jimmy Carter
two point zero, And I think the analogy becomes more
and more apparent. Jimmy Carter got elected because of the
mess that was Watergate, Right. I mean, that's how Jimmy
Carter ended up a one term president. The history kind
of came together. The only reason Joe Biden won is COVID.
(24:32):
That's it. They kept him in the basement. He didn't
have to go out in campaign. He didn't create as
many gaffs as he otherwise would have. A lot of
people were not paying attention to his mental faculties. He
covered up his entire face with the largest mask known
demand he looked like Darth Vader half the time. He
almost never spoke publicly. He read off of a prompter occasionally,
(24:55):
and all of that conspired. If Joe Biden, if COVID
happens in twenty twenty one this year, as opposed to
in twenty twenty, then it's a totally different story. Democrats
used COVID to drag Biden across the finish line. That's
what they did weekend at Bernie style. And I believe
what's going on is they recognize that the only real
(25:20):
tone that they can hit that allows them to make
excuses for what they're doing is COVID. Right, everything is COVID.
Matten Gene, thank you so much for calling in from Stockholm,
New Jersey. Randy in West Virginia. This is Buck. He
is Clay. Let's chat. What's up. Megadddos from West Virginia.
Thank you, sure, Megadddos. You guys keep up the great work. Anyway,
(25:43):
my theory on all of this is on mid terms
that they're going to use this delta variant to wind
up closing down every red state or blue state from
coast to coast and go with the mail in ballots. Again, well,
that's it's a ways away. So I mean, I don't
know if that by the time that by the time
(26:04):
the midterms happened, we're gonna be at the like you know,
I don't know Epsilon or you know, Omega will be
at the Omega. Yeah, we'll be at the zeta very
end at that point, Randy. But I do think they
want to use this for electoral purposes and and that's
it's all part of a broader narrative of they believe
the science. Randy. Thank you though, Mega did us to you.
(26:26):
Thanks for cling from West Virginia. One of the Rack
and Stacks on these calls, Clay, Tom and Jackson Mississippi.
I just had a friend tell me last week, it's
crazy that I've never been in Mississippi, so I gotta
go there. She's been, Oh, you gotta go to Whole
miss or Missippi State for a football game. I feel
like miss I feel like I might not ever want
to leave. It sounds like a great Oxford is an
amazing town. It really is, Tom and Jackson. What's up? Yes? Uh.
(26:49):
Senator rand Paul has been challenging doctor Fauci on the
funding of the gain of function research in Wuhan and
and certainly asking difficult questions of the administration on on
masking and vaccinations and everything COVID related. It occurred to
(27:09):
me that doctor Paul is not the only physician in
the Senate of the Congress. There are four senators who
are doctors Marshall in Kentucky, Cassidy in Louisiana, h Barrasso
in Wyoming, and one other who's escaping me at the moment.
(27:33):
And then there's also fourteen congressmen who are doctors, and
only two of them are Democrats. My question is where
are these doctors? Why aren't they out there speaking up
like Senator Paul. I think you got it. It's it's Marshall.
(27:53):
Marshall of Kansas, Cassie Louisiana, Ran Paul Kentucky, Barrasso of Wyoming.
Those are the physicians in the US Senate side a
lot more of the Congress. Tom, you ask a great question.
I think it's the same reason Clay and Tom, thank
you for calling in. It's the same reason why I
have mds who are brilliant, and I've known for many
(28:14):
years friends of mine, family friends who say that they
know they cannot speak out about certain COVID consensus points
because the hospital system they're affiliated with will come down
on them like a ton of bricks. That's the scientific
environment we're in right now. It is a good question.
Would people listen to Rand Paul, who I think is
(28:37):
doing a phenomenal job using his medical degree to analyze
COVID as he did on this program. Would people listen
to multiple Republican doctors more than they would listen to
one Republican doctor, or would they have the exact same criticisms.
I would like to hear them support Rand Paul because
I think he's doing a fantastic job. But I think
(28:57):
the attacks on multiple Republicans would be no different than
the attacks on Rand Paul from the Democratic part. Absolutely,
So we'll come back. We got the crime story to
talk about here, shooting in DC that got all the
journos rattled, and then we're going to dive into some
sports stuff in the third hour, including the changing of
the Cleveland Indians. Do they have to bleep me for
the am I gonna get bleeped? Now? You might and
(29:18):
we might have just had a major the Cleveland, the
Cleveland bleep, the changing of their name to the Guardians,
plus the Olympics not exactly blown people's minds with how
amazing it's going at this stage. We'll get into all
of that and more. Eight hundred two two two eight
two on the phones eight hundred two eight two two
eight eight two. Light them up, Clay people, forget that.
(29:40):
You know, if you change your towels, if you've got
some towels that you've had a long time, they lose
that that soft touch and the ability to really absorb water.
They don't work as well. So I've got an idea
for everybody this weekend. Get yourself some fresh, amazing towels,
the best towels you've ever had. From Mike g Lindell
and my pillow. These are my towels from my pillow.
They're absolutely incredible. I've got these are the only towels
(30:02):

just got him a couple of sets of them because
he likes fresh wells. And poor poor mister Sexton just
found out what his birthday present was. On the radio show.
We'll see if he's actually listening, Clay, that's right here,
will we have to see if he's actually tuning in today.
But you know, Mike's changing the game with this six
piece towel set. The set is made with USA cotton.
(30:23):
It's incredibly absorbent. I mean, I just I use it
every day. This is my towel now. And here's the
amazing part, Clay. This set comes with two bath, two

(31:29):
Clay Travis and Buck Sexton show. I'm Buck, He's Clay,
and I cannot believe the Third Hours almost here. We
are having so much fun covering so many topics here
on Friday, as we always do. Make sure you follow
Clay on Twitter at Clay Travis, follow me on Facebook,
Facebook dot com slash Buck Sexton and Third Hour. We're
gonna hop into the changing of the Cleveland Deep name
(31:52):
to the Guardians. Now I think Indian is not Indian
is a word you can say, right because there are
people from the country of India who are still India.
So you have to be able to say Indians. That
can't be a thing you can't say. So it's all contextual.
But I gotta say, we're gonna dive into that and
also the stuff about the Olympics. But for a moment,
(32:13):
could I just I used to live in DC. I've
lived in DC twice. You used to live in DC.
I lived the DC for four years college. Yeah, so
I lived in DC for the CIA and then I
went back and I launched hell TV a few years
ago at the at the Hill and fourteen Street is
like where it's where everybody goes to drink and restaurants
and it's a really popular spot. And I saw it
(32:35):
last night on Twitter. I was just I was at
home and you know, prepping for today show, because that's
pretty much I do radio or prep for radio, and
then occasionally I sleep. That's basically in my life. And
I'm looking around and I see that, you know, it's
bright out, there's still obviously light soil, it's really late
and just pop pop pop, a whole bunch of shots
firing off on video. People have captured this right on
(32:56):
fourteen Street, near the restaurant Le Diplomat, which is a
place that a lot of h I mean, you know,
the Biden loves it. I mean, it's one of the
people call it La Dip. It's one of the hip
places in DC if you're you know, one of the
people that cares about going out for fancy meals to go.
So this would be very much like having a a
shooting in daylight hours with fifteen or twenty rounds. Two
(33:19):
people hit by the way, So people were shot. It
wasn't even just rounds going off and all of a
sudden clay. There were these journals that I've seen talking
about how violence is not really rising, it's not really bad.
Their initial tweets were, oh this is this is serious? Now?
Oh here When when there are shots fired and it's
near it's near La fancy man, then we got a problem.
(33:40):
Not only that, I mean this combines with the shooting
at the Washington Nationals right like right outside of the
baseball stadium that led to a panic inside of the
Nats stadium. And this really goes to democratic hypocrisy I
think in many ways, which is crime as long as
you don't see it is not really an issue, right
(34:02):
And fortunately, if you live in neighborhoods with low crime rates,
it hasn't been as tangible of a reality. But what
happens as crime increases is the number of places that
crime is occurring expands, and maybe your otherwise in quotation
marks safe neighborhood or your favorite restaurant or your favorite
(34:24):
sports franchise you don't have. You have the luxury of
not having to worry about crime very often the more
money that you have. And all of a sudden, these
limousine liberals who've been saying, oh, you know, the crime
issue is exaggerated, let's defund the police. Let's actually make
sure that we're not in any way over exaggerating a problem. Boom,
(34:47):
a few gunshots go off and they hear them, and
all of a sudden, boy, we gotta really think about
this crime issue. Buck. Remember, Irving Crystal, a conservative is
a liberal who has been mugged by reality. In this case,
it's actually just conservatives are sometimes people who used to
be liberals who have been mugged. You know, Yeah, they've
actually just gone through that that very uncouple situation of
(35:09):
dealing with crime themselves. I just note that here's the
lap LAPD officers on Fox, Dion Joseph, because Biden spoke
about this earlier in the week and about the whole
defund the police situation that didn't work. So he's a
fast talk Yeah, he said he was really by the way,
he's fantastic. We had him on the OutKick radio program
(35:33):
to talk because he was the officer also who called
out Lebron James when Lebron posted the video of or
the picture sorry of that. I think it's a Columbus,
Ohio police officer, if you remember, who saved a girl
from being stabbed. Lebron basically called out that police officer
and said he needed to suffer consequences. And Dion Joseph, officer,
(35:55):
twenty plus year veteran of the LAPD PD, teed off
on lebron message that he sitting I think was mckea Bryant, right,
was the was the young woman in that case he
was shot. That was a turning point incident in our
conversation about defund, the price and everything else, because if
you don't believe that a law enforcement officer could use
deadly force in that situation. You do not believe an
(36:17):
officer can ever use deadly force in the defense of himself,
herself or others in an imminent lethal situation like that.
So that was when we realized, Okay, so Lebron and
others are actually just not very smart. The people that
are saying that this, they're just not very bright. I
don't know what else to say. There's just the defund
the police movement that Democrats were in favor of. This.
They just don't understand the realities of law enforcement today.
(36:39):
But Officer Dion Joseph the LAPD, he was just gonna
have a hat tip for always having, you know, smart
things to say about law enforcement and standing up for
the truth. And we are going to come back. Clay's
gonna lay out how this Olympics is looking so far.
And also the Cleveland Guardians, Yay, we'll talk about it.
(37:01):
You're listening to Clay Travis and Buck Sexton on the
EIB Network.
