Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of the Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton show podcast. Welcome everybody to the Thursday edition of
The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show Man. There's a
lot of stuff going on, Clay, and I excited to
talk to you today. We've got to get us going here.
They're doubling down on everything. I mean, this is no

(00:20):
longer about Democrat versus Republican, left versus right so much
as it is just sane versus insane. Clay, That's what
we are up against right now. People who are seemingly
suffering from some form of mass anxiety disorder. You'll notice,
think it very touchy about the usage of some of
the terms now about mass anxiety or about a mass

(00:44):
mental illness of some kind. Mass formation. Psychosis is what
they really hate you to say. They've got now vaccine
and mask mandates, just for a quick overview, folks going
into effect in or already in effect in of course
New York, Boston. See yeah, that's right. Vaccine passport Minneapolis.
I believe now if you're five year old is in vaxed,

(01:05):
can't go into a can't go into a restaurant, Los
Angeles and Francisco. You have all these man and other cities.
I can't even keep track of all this all across
the country. Meanwhile, you've got cases still exploding. You've even
got Fauci out there saying that everybody essentially is going
to get hit by Omicron at some point. I think,

(01:25):
in many respects Omicron within it's extraordinary, unprecedented degree of
efficiency of transmissibility, will ultimately find just about everybody, ultimately
find everybody, including our main man, Clay. How's it going
over there, buddy, how are you feeling? Yeah, yesterday people

(01:48):
may have heard me coughing and sneezing some during the
course of the show. I had to point people don't
see behind the scenes, but a couple of times I
had a coughing fit and I had to point to you,
it's like Stockton to Malone. We put it away yet
to pick back up. So I tested yesterday positive for omicron,
and some people say, well, why did you decide to test.

(02:08):
The answer is I never got tested when I had
alpha back in the alpha version back in November of
twenty twenty of COVID, and I wanted to make sure
if I was talking to people that this time I
knew I one hundred percent had it, and so I
went yesterday tested positive. It feels to me like a

(02:31):
low rate cold. I've been honest with people, I haven't
gotten vaccinated. I had the alpha version, now I've got
the omicron version, and I don't really I mean, I'm
having a normal work day. I work. People may or
may not know this, but I have a home studio
for television radio writing, so I had that before COVID.

(02:51):
So that's the way that I work. So I'm not
really around anyone other than my family. I'm hanging out
down in the bedroom on my own and then up
here doing the show. So everybody else in the household
has zero issues. And I don't really know. People always
like where did you get it? I don't really know.

(03:12):
I knew. We talked about off air yesterday during the show.
I went over and watched on Monday night the Georgia
Alabama game with some friends, and one of the kids
that was at that event tested positive. And so I
told you guys off the air, and you were like, well,
you should go get tested. You probably definitely have it
if that kid had it at the party that you
were at, And so yeah, I tested. I tested positive.

(03:36):
I think by tomorrow I'll be back to one hundred percent.
I feel almost one hundred percent today, had I have
a lot of good sleep. I probably need more sleep
than I get anyway, and so I've just been drinking fluids,
not taking really anything other than drinking fluids and trying
to get some rest. And for what we do, I
worry about whether I might lose my voice. We've talked

(03:57):
about this before. I mean, we've got kind of a
unique job job where we make a living based on
being able to talk but knock on woods. So far,
it doesn't seem I might sound a little bit different
to people, because again I feel like I've got a
low range cold. But buck in November, people who were
listening to us, like I felt that was one of
the worst colds I've ever had. We both got it.

(04:18):
We weren't even in the same city, so it wasn't
likely to be, you know, the same strain of virus.
Like we were right next to each other. We both
got wrecked with upper respiratory infections. But I just want
to be clear, it's apparently our fault. In fact, it's
everybody's fault. If you listen to the Democrats. It's Clay's fault,
it's my fault, it's everyone's fault when they catch what
maybe the most infectious upper respiratory pathogen we've ever known, right,

(04:41):
I mean, it's got to be up there. It's up
there with measles, it's up there with things that if
you're in a room with somebody for fifteen minutes without immunity,
you're probably gonna get. It has to be close to that, right,
It's your fault, Biden says, because you haven't done enough
of the useless crap they've been mandating, like masking up
between bites and putting plexiglass. So now it's more testing,

(05:02):
better masks, and more and more and more shots. Of
course here he is just from this morning, trying to
tell everybody where I don't even know what he's saying.
One now, I don't like to, uh, you know, outline
the next steps we're taking against I'd like to outline
the next steps are taking against over under the almocron variant.

(05:25):
Vaccinations are obviously the most important thing we're doing, but
they're but they are not the only important thing. First, masking,
masking you there there are a lot of you know,
lots of different kinds of mask out there, and the
Center for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the
CDC says that wearing a well fitting mask of any

(05:48):
of them is certainly better than not wearing a mask
it was well fitting, well over your nose. Okay, this guy,
this guy really does need to have the grand kids
take him out, put a blanket across his knees and
let him feed. The score is getting embarrassing. It's that
it is so bad. It's getting weird. It has been
weird for a long time. But Clay, here's here's one
of the problems they have. We weren't allowed to question

(06:10):
the effectiveness of masks, right, Well, then if if that's
the case, if masks are great, if any cloth mask,
if you're Kamala Biden twenty twenty four, you know balaklava
or you know gator or whatever it is, is great
at stopping virus. Why is it that this year they're
telling us we need better masks. In fact, they're going
to send and ninety five masks as part of this

(06:31):
policy now to people who want them. That's that's an
admission that what we had been doing was not very effective.
But they won't say it. Buck. Listening to Biden talk there,
I just want to emphasize to everyone he's reading off
a teleprompter and he still sounds like that he's not
even attempting. They're not even that. They would be terrified

(06:54):
to put Biden out there without the ability to read
directly off of the screen. So when he sounds that bad,
he's that bad just reading what's put in front of him.
And Buck the argument and he continues to say it,
that we have a pandemic of the unvaccinated is just
not true. And building on the clip that we played

(07:15):
of doctor Fauci earlier, if everyone is going to get COVID,
that's basically what Fauci said in that clip that we played.
You're gonna get the omicron version. You may not know
that you have it, you may not even be symptomatic
in any way. Okay, but if you're going to get it,
how is there an argument for a vaccine mandate anymore?

(07:36):
Because what they used to argue on behalf of the
vaccine mandate was if you didn't get it, then you
would help to spread the virus to others. But if
you're now saying that everyone is going to get it.
The risk to the unvaccinated like me is entirely born
by me. Right, if everybody's going to get it, I'm

(07:56):
not getting your grandma sick. Your grandma's gonna get sick
because everybody else is going to get sick too. And
so this whole argument that you have to be vaccinated,
which they continue to say, isn't true. Look, is it
better if you're older, as we've been saying for a
long time, and you are vaccinated because of your risk factors? Yes,
but it's also better if you're not obese. It's also

(08:17):
better if you don't smoke. The risk factors of not
getting vaccinated now are entirely borne by the unvaccinated. There's
no argument to support a vaccine mandate at all. What
they'll say, I think because people that are being honest
about this, and you know, in Denmark, not that I
can read Danish, but I saw reporting on this. One
of the largest newspapers there has apologized to its readership

(08:41):
for saying we should have asked more questions about their
version of fauciism, We should have pushed back on power,
which I mean this country's corporate media buy in large
there's some exceptions. We're here doing a show obviously that
millions of people listen to. There are other shows out
there in Fox and other places where people can speak
the truth or can at least engage in debate. But

(09:01):
there's been a betrayal, a betrayal of the fundamental role
in a free society of not just the government against
the people, but for those who are supposed to be
bringing information and accountability into the public conversation. We've seen
an abject failure. It's disgusting what the democratic line corporate
media has done in this country on the issues of

(09:23):
Fauci's and COVID masking. They just right now are in
this panic mode where it's okay now they have to sell,
doubling down on failed policies that everybody can see have failed.
It is not possible to look at what has gone
on in the last sixty days and say Faucci and

(09:44):
the rest and Wilenski got it right. They knew what
was coming. By the way, to your point about ending
the vaccine mandate, Wilenski, the CDC chief, shared information here.
I'll make sure because if I get it wrong, obviously,
you know media matters is going to say, I'm a
fascist who's going around murdering everyone's grandparents. But Will Lensky
Clay shared the latest data out of a study from

(10:06):
here you Go. Omicron variant fifty three percent less risk
of hospitalization from symptoms, seventy four percent less risk of
ICU admission, ninety one percent less risk of death. Yes,
what are we doing? Why are they telling us now?
You need to mask up harder, you need to social

(10:26):
distance harder. These people have a mental disorder. You're right,
And the honest answer here of what we need to
be doing is for a long time, remember how mad
they got at the idea. If you say, have you
compared in any way COVID to the flu, Well, we're
with the omicron variant, I think very much, comparing it

(10:50):
to the flu and saying it's not as bad. And
I can say that now having the virus right now,
I would much rather have this omicron what I've got
right now than many versions of the flu that I've
had over the past twenty five years. You know, when
you have the flu, there's that moment in time for
everybody out there where you feel like you're legitimately going

(11:11):
to die. Right if you have a bad flu. You're
laying there, You're nauseous, You're like, this is so bad,
you feel like death incarnate. At no point, having had
COVID twice, have I ever remotely felt as bad as
when I had a seasonal flu. And can I just say,
Germany did the whole D ninety five mandate thing a

(11:32):
year ago, and guess what, everybody didn't change a damn thing.
We have run these experiments and the people in charge
now cannot admit that they are wrong, cannot admit they
can't control this, and so what are they doing? Doubling
down doesn't matter, Clay, doesn't matter what the results actually are.
But you know what does matter having some very comfortable

(11:55):
clothing on your back. Yep. If you want to dress
more comfortably every day, you're gonna want to include Tommy
John underwear and loungeware for both men and women. The
clothing the company makes available second to none in terms
of pure comfort. When you start the year wearing Tommy John,
you're that much more comfortable. You can do everything better.
That's why Tommy John Men's underwear has breathable, lightweight, moisture

(12:17):
waking fabric with four times the stretch of competing brands,
and you'll feel the same level of comfort, layering their
luxuriously soft loungewear right on top. Tommy John loungeware is
so comfortable, in fact in good looking, you can and
will be wearing it everywhere. With over seventeen million pairs sold,
Tommy John doesn't have customers, they have fanatics, and we

(12:40):
are two of them. Look, I'm in for a day
when a caller asked Buck just how much Tommy Tommy
John Geary owns, and then we're gonna ask why Buck
is speaking in the third person. But the point is
he owns a lot, and he loves it and he
thinks you will love it too. The underwear, the T shirts,
the hoodies. The T shirts and hoodies are just my
absolute go to every day. But I've got these waffle

(13:00):
knit crew shirts that I've given to members of my family.
They absolutely love them. You will love this gear. It'll
be the most comfortable stuff you own. Get twenty percent
off your first order right now at Tommy John dot
com slash buck. That's Tommy John dot com slash buck
for twenty percent off. It's a great deal. Try this gear.
It is my go to Tommy John dot com slash

(13:20):
buck see site for detail. Welcome back in Clay Travis
buck Sexton Show. We are having a good time rolling
through the Thursday edition of the program. You're out there listening.
We're gonna have Monica Crowley, formerly from the Trump administration
on to talk about the inflation mess as well as

(13:42):
the Biden economic plan to the extent there is any
at all, at the top of the next hour, and
then at two eastern we will have Missouri Senator Josh
Holly on talk about the latest as it pertains to
the filibuster and what is going to happen there on
the Senate fo or, plus an interesting debate that has emerged.

(14:03):
Should congressmen and women as well as senators be able
to buy and sell individual stocks or not. It's kind
of an intriguing question, and so we will be discussing
all of that and more. But in the meantime, Buck,
if you noticed, first of all, the Biden addressed today,
to the extent you can call it an address, was,

(14:23):
as we played a couple of the clips, an embarrassment.
Maybe even more embarrassing was the end when they tried
to shunt all of the different media out of the
room where they had shown up to hear him read
his statement, and there were many different questions being tossed
at Joe Biden that he ignored, and one of them
was a great one which I would love to hear
somebody at the Biden administration try to address, which we

(14:46):
just talked about a little bit, which was if doctor
Fauci is now saying everyone is going to get COVID
and omicron, why should there be a vaccine mandate at all.
I don't think there's an easy answer for that, but
it demonstrates in many ways, I think the complicity of
the media at large that almost no one is willing

(15:07):
to ask those questions to follow the logical path, and
if they are asked, they are not answered by the administration.
And this ties in with yesterday Ted Cruz was set
to address a gaggle of media at the Senate and
they were upset because he was not wearing his mask.
If you haven't heard this, enjoy well listen. I think

(15:27):
there's been wild hypocrisy from the Biden administration when it
comes to COVID policies, whether mask mandates, where Joe Biden
rightly said we shouldn't have mandates, whether vaccine mandates, where
Joe Biden said we shouldn't have vaccine mandates. And by
the way, on the question of hypocrisy, you just asked
you people at the podium are speaking without mask? Just once,

(15:49):
I'd like to see a reporter say to Joe Biden
when he stands at the damn podium in the White
House without a mask, Mister President, why aren't you wearing
a mask? Just once? I'd like to see you say
to Jensa, the White House Press secretary, when she stands
at the podium with no mask, Miss Saki, why don't
you have a mask? This is so essential, Clay, because
first of all, I love I love Cruise Control. There

(16:09):
just throwing down, fired up. You can hear him slamming
the podium. There, he's going for it. And this is
also now, this is a tool masking, because we all
know that it's arbitrary and capricious and idiotic. At this point,
mask up between bites. I get people yelling at me
in my own building in New York City. I don't
think I told you this. A guy was carrying a
whole bunch of packages, like six or seven big packages,

(16:29):
and I walk past him. We're actually the elevator area.
He's walking into the elevator and he turns to shout
at me, put your mask on, sir, and then he
drops his packages all over the floor. That live in
New York City deal with that, Yeah, I couldn't deal
with that in California. I like, I don't remember the
last time somebody. I don't think anybody's ever lectured me
about mask. Here's the essential point, though, It's not that

(16:50):
this guy's just lecturing me about mask Clay. It's that
he is, I am certain, okay, going to go either
tonight or tomorrow into a crowded restaurant or a ball
full of unmasked people and think that somehow he's being
safe from the virus. These people are out of their minds.
But they love this because and this is why that

(17:11):
ted crusting is so important. It gives them an ability
to poke and prod and harass the other, the unmasked,
the people they don't like. And that's the problem overall,
I would say, overarching here with everything Joe Biden is saying, right,
Biden ran on the idea that I'm going to be
the grandfatherly figure to bring the country back together. Try

(17:33):
to square that campaign promise with the speech that he
gave in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon. Try and square that
campaign promise with his continued insistence on saying that for
the unvaccinated it's going to be a winter of death.
That is not what has happened at all. Biden, who
now we need to talk about this, has approval rating
down to thirty three percent according to the latest Quinnipiac poll.

(17:56):
Biden has failed in all measures to try to return
a sense of normalcy to this country. On nine eleven,
two thousand, nine hundred seventy seven people were killed in
terrorist attacks on American soil. The Tunnel of the Towers
Foundation has been supporting America's heroes and their families ever since.
When a first responder or military service member doesn't come

(18:17):
home and young children are left behind, Tunnel of the
Towers pays off their mortgage to lift the financial burden
and bring their family stability. For catastrophically injured veterans and
first responders, Tunnel of the Towers builds mortgage free smart homes,
enabling our most severely injured heroes to live more independent lives,
and now thanks to Operation Home based Tunnel the Towers

(18:39):
is giving tiny homes to homeless veterans. Our nation's heroes,
people who have put their lives on the line for
our country and our communities. Needs your help. Help these
heroes and their families join Tunnel the Towers on their
mission to do good in their honor. Donate eleven dollars
a month at t twot dot org. That's t the
number two t dot org. Welcome back into the Clay

(19:01):
Travis and Buck Sexton show our man Clay being a
hero today. It's got the omicron not slowing him down
one like maybe one second here or there. But he's good.
He's good. He's every now and then I might start
to cough and have to If you're listening out there,
if you hear a pause, it's me pointing the buck
and being like, just take it, just take I swear
we're not. I'm not hitting the mute button on Clay.

(19:21):
His voice is you know at some points here and there.
But we're here. We're a duo where a team, tag team,
my friends, we're gonna get it done. And uh comlas
speaking of tag teams, Biden Harris right right, that's that
is the ticket. That's the big that's the big two.
You got Joe Biden we're talking about in the first
segment today, and it's I don't know what to do

(19:46):
about this guy because I keep going back and forth.
There's a part of me that thinks this guy reminds
me of some of the seniors I've known in my
own life when they've reached that phase where they need care,
comfort and family taking care of them. So I don't
want I don't want to be mean about it, because
obviously we're all going there, We're all going to be there,
and then there's the other side, there's the other side
of words. They've made this guy the president, right, you're

(20:06):
not We're not making fun of somebody who's at a
family occasion or something or who's spending This is someone
who has the nuclear codes and is clearly not up
to the job. However, then you look at his VP,
Kamala Harris, she's definitely not too old for the job.
We can say that, but when you hear things like this,
and this is important too, this is about the doubling

(20:29):
down in the face of COVID that's going on right
now here. Is Kamala Harris when asked on NBC News
about their COVID strategy, and this is her response. At
what point does the administration saying, you know what, the
strategy isn't working, We're going to change strategies. The six
former administration officials last week wrote that open letter urging

(20:52):
the administration to change course, to change strategy. Is it time?
It is time for us to do what we have
been doing? In that time is every day, every day.
It is time for us too. It is time for
us to do what we have been doing, and that
time is every day. What does that even mean? Clay?

(21:13):
It reminds well, first of all, it sounds like veep
for anybody out there who is also a fan of
the Julia we Dreyfuss dark satirical comedy on HBO. Also,
it reminds me of someone who has been trained in
how to respond to questions, but has no confidence whatsoever
in their ability to respond to questions. Sometimes I've seen

(21:35):
this buck because in my sports days, young athletes who
were eighteen and nineteen years old will sometimes repeat the
question that you asked them as a part of answering
the question right. So it sounds like she's been overly
media trained but I wonder on some level how much

(21:55):
is this is just this is what one party governance does.
Kamala Harris came out of California, where the Democrats have
complete control of that state, and as a result, she
never really had to get in the trenches and throw
punches in a real campaign. We saw when she tried
to do it for president she dropped out before they

(22:16):
even started voting, and Democrats had soundly rejected her as
a presidential candidate because of answers to questions like those.
And remember it. It's crazy to even think about now, buck,
But the idea back in the day when Joe Biden
added Kamala Harris as his vice presidential running mate was well,

(22:37):
Biden's going to step down at some point and hand
the presidency to Kamala Harris and allow her potentially to
run as the incumbent. I thought that was a plan.
Did you think I thought initially that was the plan.
I felt like that many ways that it was. And
what we've seen, at least in the first year of
the Biden administration is as incompetent and out of sorts

(22:58):
as Joe Biden is, Kamala Harris is worse and at
least Joe Biden you can point to and say, well,
he is seventy eight years old, he's passed his prime.
He no longer has to say you know, you should say,
like when an athlete is aging, Hey, he doesn't have
his fastball anymore. I'm not sure Joe Biden even has
a changeup anymore. I mean, he doesn't have a pitch.

(23:20):
And Kamala is worse, which is an unbelievable indictment of
her because she doesn't have the seventy eight year old
excuse here she is speaking of worse right. And I
really do reiterate that what I said yesterday here because
I think it resonates with some folks, and I put
it out on Twitter. If this was a Trump administration,
they would impeach him over what's happening right now for

(23:42):
a dereliction of duty. Is that even an impeachable offense
doesn't matter. They would impeach him. Nancy Pelosi would billion
percent was the exact same way, but Trump would have
been impeached to at least for a third. And it's
also amazing, as we see Biden stumbling and bumbling around
that so many of the chatter in classes of the
Democrats were obsessed with talking about the twenty fifth Amendment

(24:04):
with the last president who was and you and I
do a lot of live performance clay, and we know
who's good at this, and we know who's got skills.
Trump live in front of forty fifty sixty thousand people
for hours at a time. That guy is on another
level from other politicians we've seen, and they were saying
that twenty fifth Amendment should be invoked. Meanwhile, with Joe Biden,
they've forgotten the twenty fifth Amendment. Is it's stunning when

(24:26):
you see the lack of consistency. But then again you
have Kamala Harris to your point about VEEP. Here she
is asked about the testing shortage, which would be a
huge issue if it were Donald Trump, But it's of
course Joe Biden. The five hundred million tests that have
been ordered that every wuldn't be sent to every every American.
Do we know when those are going out? Shortly? Though
they're gonna go out, Trulie, we've been ordered, they've been ordered.

(24:48):
We I have to look at the current information. I
think it's gonna be by next week, but soon, absolutely soon,
And it is a matter of urgency for us. Should
we have done that sooner? We are doing it? We
have done it sooner? Here Julian's crib. I'll just speak
because I some people said, hey, why did you decide
to get tested for COVID at all? The answer is

(25:09):
because I wanted to be able to say with certainty
to the audience that I had it. But also, there's
no tests anywhere, right, That was the criticism that we got.
I know Biden tweeted about it. Where the test, mister president.
The idea that these five hundred million ordered tests, followed
by five hundred more million tests are going to somehow
alter anything is fundamentally not true. And I wish buck

(25:32):
they would stop saying that these tests are free. They
aren't free. Our tax dollars are paying for them. It
gets me so frustrated every time when I hear them say, oh,
these tests are going to be free. Oh, you can
go get the COVID vaccine. It's free. No, we're paying
tens of billions, if not trillions of dollars of mortgaging

(25:53):
our future as a nation. These are not free test.
We're all paying for them. You're just not having to
pull the money directly out of your wallet. So people
are dumb and they don't realize where the money's coming from.
Can we all be honest to these tests are going
to arrive maybe late February early March. A macron is

(26:15):
gonna be plummeting, and they're gonna be sending tests you
at home, and then they're gonna be taking a victory
lap saying, see, because you have a test at home,
now omicron is plummeting. They don't teach basic logic in
schools anymore. It seems they don't teach reason, and they
certainly don't teach statistics because everything that they do it's
it's like, how can they think? What is sending a

(26:37):
test to every clay? They're gonna send a test to
your home, what are you gonna do with that test?
You've already had omicron, You're good. So now what I
don't know? I legitimately don't know what the purpose of
these tests are at all. And by the way, the
people who are the most neurotic are not going to
be satisfied by the test. Let's say you have a
sniffle and you take a test and it's a negative. Well,

(26:58):
let's say the next day you're sniffle is worse? Are
you telling me those neurotic people are going to say, Hey,
I don't need to test again. Like in general, testing
doesn't make a lot of sense. I looked up the
free testing in my neighborhood. In order to get a
free testing appointment in my neighborhood, I would have had
to wait till Monday. Well by that point, Buck, I
would have been back to one hundred percent or else

(27:19):
I'm so severely ill that I probably would have to
go to the hospital, which is highly unlikely, but it
makes no sense. When I had the upper respiratory thing
we're talking about, we were both real sick in the
October November time frame, and I went to get the
test around then. I remember it was actually right before Thanksgiving.
I think I remember being told at the testing center, Oh,
you can go at the free city test. You just

(27:41):
won't find out what your results are for two or
three days. Yeah right, I'm not gonna find out. So
what am I supposed to do? So? I had to
go to the like fancy expensive test place and pay
two hundred fifty dollars out of pocket to get a
normal test in fifteen minutes, which is obviously what everybody needs.
But it's all friends. They're just lying to you all
the time about all this stuff. Because I paid one
hundred bucks for a test they get. They called me

(28:03):
fifteen minutes after they swab me, and that's positive. That's
the Nashville price. Hundred bucks, Yeah, Mahattan price. Among many
other things. Here, you don't just vote once a year, folks.
You vote each month with the money you spend and
the companies you spend it with. Companies make political donations
more often and in bigger amounts than you probably imagine.
Consider your cell phone provider and the bill you're paying

(28:24):
each month. Your money supports the candidates and issues they
donate to. Left leaning politicians pushing leftist agendas often receive
the bigger donations. But there's a solution. Put your money
where your beliefs are. Pure Talk. Get your cell phone
service from Pure Talk. They use the exact same towers
and the exact same five G Network is one of
those companies. But with the peace of mind, and you're

(28:46):
supporting a US run business with employees all here in
the US. Those are just a couple of the reasons
Clay and I are proud customers, and this is one
monthly bill that'll be lower, and you can be proud
to pay it. It may likely be just fifty percent.
That's at a fifty percent savings of what your current
cell phone bill is. The average family on a Pure
Talk plan saves get this eight hundred dollars a year. Clay,

(29:09):
how do our people get hooked up? Get your cell
phones in your hand right now, dial pound two fifty,
say Pure Talk, and you'll save an additional fifty percent
off your first month that is pound two five zero.
Dial it right now on your cell phones and say
Pure Talk. Welcome back in Clay, Travis buck Sexton Show.

(29:33):
Finishing off the first hour of the Thursday edition of
the program. Some breaking news on the Senate floor. We'll
probably have some cuts for you before the show is done.
Arizona Senator Kursten Cinema went down and announced that she
will not support any changes to the filibuster. So this

(29:55):
whole story Buck, Joe Biden going to Atlanta on Tuesday
and trying to equate people who oppose filibuster changes to
Jefferson Davis and George Wallace, all of the focus of
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on, Hey, we're gonna have
a decision rendered before MLK Day. This just looks utterly incompetent.

(30:19):
What am I missing here? You had? Did they really
think that cinema and mansion We're gonna buckle on this?
And because Joe Biden called them out and essentially called
them racist in a Tuesday speech that the Democrats were
going to change their mind, that pressure was going to
build on them, it just looks even more incompetent because

(30:42):
we already had build back better collapse, and now from
Joe Biden's own party, It's not as if Republicans we
already knew were united against the idea of changing the filibuster. Here.
I can't even I try to look at politics as
a chessboard and figure out, Okay, this move is being
made to try to gain this advantage. I can't even

(31:04):
figure out what in the world the Democrats are doing
with this week's focus. It's nonsensical. I mean, some of
the graybeards I knew in the intelligence community, Clay would
always tell us young guns coming up, don't underestimate your opponents,
but don't overestimate them either. At some level, remember, Democrats
think that some kind of action, some kind of agitation

(31:25):
that they can talk about in public of what they're
doing and what they're trying to do is better than
actually focusing on problems that require real thought and expertise
and bringing it all together and having a result that
the people can actually see and look at. So they
like this kind of history onics. Oh, we need to
break the filibuster and anything for voting rights, because as
you say, as you're pointing out, it's not going anywhere,

(31:47):
so what are they doing. What it does is it says,
see we try, you know, tried in quotes, we tried
to get this through. Republicans are racist. It turns into
a narrative point instead of an actual legislative one. And
I think that's where all this is. That's what drives
all the noise we've had in the last few days.
But I would understand that a little bit more if

(32:09):
Republicans had control of the Senate and fifty one Republicans
were standing against this. But when the member of your
own party comes out and says, because remember in theory,
Democrats could do this with fifty votes and Kamala Harris
breaking the tie, when you make a big show of

(32:29):
how racist the Republican Party is. And then a member
of your own party takes the Senate floor and officially
announces that your call for changing things voting bills under
you know, simple majority terms, it looks even worse. So
this is why Bernie has this very dishonest and it's
not just Bernie Sanders. There are a lot of media platforms,

(32:50):
you know, Democrat, New York Times, etc. Et cetera, stuff
where they're saying one senator shouldn't be able to stand
in the way of you know, this is why they
come up with that dishonest formulation because you're right, it
doesn't make sense. But let's always also again to the
not overestimating our opponents. They don't care that it doesn't
make sense. They're going to tell people the nonsensical and

(33:11):
they'll mouth the preferred slogans like the marionettes they are.
And so the big question becomes, and we'll talk to
Senator Josh Holley about this at two o'clock Eastern on
the show. The big question I think you have to
have at this point, where does Biden go from here?
Because he's going to lose his House majority at the November, right,

(33:33):
I mean that would be a stunning upset if Democrats
maintain control of the House. So that's gone, which means
really he won't be able to pass any legislation other
than what I laid out yesterday, Buck, which is Stephen
Breyer steps down in the summer after they release all
of their opinions, and then the Democrats go ahead and

(33:54):
nominate a black woman and try to have a fight
over the nomination in the fall. But they of course
would be able to do that because they have the
votes to get somebody through. I just really don't see
any sort of activity that is going to happen this year.
Now for the biden A regime, well, it's a lot
of you know, we'll see how they play the hand

(34:15):
that they have, and we don't we don't expect them
to be honest or fair and what they do I
do you see this breaking news play. I thought this
is interesting as we talk about how the media has
failed the people in COVID, but they failed more broadly
and for much more longer than that, in national politics,
to just be honest about who they are. To pretend
that journalism is a profession of just fact and unbiased.

(34:37):
That's all a lie. It's propaganda. The RNC has told
the commission that's just broke last hour on presidential debates.
It is preparing to require presidential candidates to refuse to
take part in those debates, potentially leading significant changes. Essentially
RNC saying we're not going to offer up Republican They're

(34:58):
gonna have to say they're not gonna take part in ABC, CNN.
It is crazy, It is insane for Republicans to think
and look what's happened in recent years. Look at what
Candy Crowley did admit Romney for, you know at CNN.
Look at what goes on with Stephanopolis. That guy Harwood
is at CNN now is that as CNBC before? These

(35:20):
people are rapid partisans who hate Republicans, and then they
act like they're going to get a fair shake in
the debates. I think this is a big step forward.
I like this. I think it's intriguing. And the bigger
question it raises, too, is how combative are both the
Democrat and the Republican potential nomination contest going to be?

(35:40):
If Trump runs, and I think we both presume that
he will, will there be other Republicans running against him
on the Republican side is the number one question. The
number one question on the Democratic side is going to
be will Joe Biden attempt to run again at eighty
two years old? And if so, what sort of challenges

(36:00):
if any. By the way, the answer to the question
we asked yesterday, who was the last president to run
for reelection and not make it out of the primary?
Chester A Arthur, I believe, was the answer. So it
doesn't happen very often that you lose in the primary
and don't get to continue. And just one of our
team here, producer Mike, just told me, you know how

(36:22):
I said it would be two to three days for
New York City tests. Just want to update this. It's
now seven five to seven days, five to seven day
results to get the results of your free New York
City COVID test. That's really possiful. Yeah, that's great. Yeah,
by that point, you're already back to either health or
you're seriously, seriously ill if you're still dealing with COVID.

(36:43):
We got our friend Monica Crowley, formerly at the Trump
Treasury Department, joining us to talk about inflation nation. What
is going on here, folks? It's out of control? And
also Biden's plummeting numbers. People are seeing what's going on.
