Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to today's edition of The Clay Travis and Buck
Sexton Show podcast. Welcome and everybody to the Clay Travis
and Buck Sexton Show on this Friday. Appreciate your rolling
with Gonna be in solo today, last day of Clay's
vacation with the fam. He sends his regards to all
of you across the country. He's up in Michigan having
(00:20):
a great time. I'm here in New York City and
it is a busy time to be sure, in the
news cycle. A lot going on. We have the job's
numbers in. We've got to talk about that China doing
some provocative things around Taiwan in the Taiwan Straits, saying
(00:42):
they will no longer cooperate on some things. Now there's
some very serious areas of this. And then there's day
won't cooperate on climate change. Oh, no, anything but that.
But we will discuss this situation there and how the
escalation is continuing on. More On the aftermath of the
Brittany Grinder sentencing to a Russian prison for nine years,
(01:03):
the Russians have confirmed that they are in fact Sergei
Lavrov has said that they are in fact considering a
deal that would involve Victor Bout and yeah, there's that.
There's also federal charges that have been brought against four
(01:26):
Louisville police officers, civil rights charges involved in the search
warrant and subsequent shooting of Brianna Taylor. Merrick Garland announced
that you actually will discuss also on the justice front,
you have Governor Ronda Santis suspending a state's attorney in
(01:48):
Tampa because he's a progressive prosecutor who thinks he is
above the law. I mean, that's just some of what
we've got going on here that are just those are
just some of the things that are at issue. But
first we have the jobs numbers, and I gotta tell
you I have been a little bit concerned about this
(02:10):
for a while. You can consider it the political rebound effect.
How much worse can something get for the Biden administration
before it starts to look like it's turning around. And
timing is everything in politics. We remind you frequently here
about the lockdowns about fauciism, the mask mandates, the vaccine mandates,
(02:37):
the sky high price of gas, of the very high
inflation rate, all of these things that have brought the
Biden poll numbers to their lowest ever levels. I've been
down into the thirties right depending on the poll you
(02:59):
look at. And I've been concerned that at some point
this is going to have to get better for the
Biden regime. Meaning when you hit the basement right nowhere
to go, but somewhere in the direction of up, it's
going to turn around. Now. I don't think the economy is,
to be clear turning around in a structural way. But
(03:21):
this was when you look at the jobs numbers, a
strong month of jobs. We live in reality here, and
this is why we have to take stock of the
fact that this week has been on a number of
fronts energizing and mobilizing for the political opposition. We absolutely
cannot take our foot off the gas pedal here. It's August,
(03:45):
plenty of time still for the numbers to shift in
favor of the Democrats, and you have a very different
reality if they hold the Senate, then if we take
the Senate and the House in this mid term. We'll
talk about that at a moment, but first off, here
is the announcement. I mean, I'll give you a well here.
(04:07):
The media was very excited about this today. Oh my,
as Dickenberg would say five hundred and twenty eight thousand
jobs created or restored. Hard to believe, But the US
economy added five hundred and twenty eight thousand jobs in July.
It is a whopper, five hundred and twenty eight thousand,
(04:27):
much higher than expected. The US adding five hundred and
twenty eight thousand jobs last month, much higher than consensus.
It was a strong number, the best number since March.
We can dispel the notion that the economy is currently
in recession. If we were intercession, companies would be laying
people are rather than hiring them. If you're trying to
make the argument it's all doom and gloom out there
and we're on a fast track to recession, you can't.
(04:49):
This is not your father's recession. The only word I
can use Harry's wow. Wow. You're that at the end.
They're they're very happy about it, and there's a bid
of a bit of people taking a victory lap too.
Even on the change of the definition of recession, you're
noticing that, right You're hearing people say, oh, well, this
(05:13):
shows that all those efforts to switch the definition on
Miriam Webster and on Wikipedia, it was all legitimate. Because
we're not really in a recession. No. Someone explained that
if the jobs numbers are so good, and they're just
good this month and they'll be revised next month. But
if the jobs numbers are so good, why have we
had two quarters of negative GDP? And even if the
(05:37):
jobs numbers continue to be somewhat strong going into the fall,
everything is more expensive. That hurts because there are a
lot of people that have jobs and we have to
think about them too. Right, this is just one sector
of the overall economy, of the overall economy. But be
prepared for this. I mean be prepared for the stenographer
(06:00):
of the Biden regime. People who believe their jobs are
to present the most favorable of possible narratives for this
Biden White House. They're going to go all in on
c This is this is great, This is exactly what
we need in this current moment politically, at this moment,
(06:23):
this is a very good report for President Biden. First
of all, we had a couple of weeks ago silly
extended debate over whether or not we were in a recession.
These numbers make pretty clear we are not in a recession.
You don't add half a million jobs when in a
recessionary environment makes it more likely that that first quarter
GDP number is going to get revised up and not
be negative as it was in the initial report. There's
(06:46):
nothing presidents like better than adding a lot of jobs
and being able to tell Americans it's a great time
to go out and get a job. So they're feeling
pretty good about things right now. The stenographers left wing Democrat,
corporate aligned media saying uh huh. Now, first off, there's
(07:08):
another perspective on this, and here is just to give
you that Peter Schiff, who is the europe Pacific Capital CEO.
He's saying, oh, no, no, no, it's actually even worse
than people think it is. The recession that we are
currently in is actually a lot worse already than people think.
(07:29):
Look at the data that came out on Friday on
household debt surging to a new all time record high
sixteen point one five trillion. You know, American families have
taken on two trillion dollars of debt just since the pandemic.
But worse, the national debt has increased by eight trillion
during the same time period. American households are responsible for
(07:52):
paying that debt, but they're already drowning on their own debt.
Credit Card debt year over year just rose by the
most in twenty years, and that's because Americans are having
to put their groceries on their credit cards. That's not good, folks,
that's not good. They can look at the job numbers,
but what about everybody else? What about the debt that
is occurring? What about the cost the expenses that people
(08:15):
are dealing with. This is where you say to yourself,
will hold on a second, which one of these things
is actually the more accurate, the more accurate sense of
where we're going. National debt increased by eight trillion dollars.
We're looking at long term structural issues here and risks,
(08:37):
structural risks in the economy, and the addition of household
debt is also deeply concerning. People can't actually pay for things.
But I also understand that there's the reality of what
the economy is doing, and there's a lot of factors
coming together right now. And people are going to dispute
that you feel the high prices, but they're going to
(08:58):
keep pointing to that three point five percent unemployment rate. Biden,
every Democrat's gonna say, see, look at how great the
unemployment rate is okay, so that's under way. That's that's
something that we have to be prepared for. And then
also when you look at what's happening this week alone,
they have the path. They completely outmaneuvered Republicans on the
(09:20):
Chips Act. Republicans go, you know, okay, for national defense,
we're gonna go along with the Democrats on this one,
and the Democrats say, don't worry, we're not gonna actually,
you know, we're not gonna pass a big inflation bill.
Hold on a second. The Molan Republicans go along with
(09:41):
the Chips Act. Democrats come back and say, yeah, actually
we're gonna do that thing we said we weren't gonna do,
and Joe Mansion leads the charge for them, going yeah, well,
you know, I told you I wouldn't, but now I
will outmaneuvered Republicans on the Chips Act. And then the
Anti Inflation Bill, which when we got to come up,
we should really just call it the inflation bill because
(10:02):
it's making inflation. But notice they just name it whatever
they have to based on the poll testing of what
the concerns that people have right now. Maybe, but they
got that lined up to go. Cinema says, she's a
yes on it. She's bailing out the private equity and
hedge fund guys who get the carried interest loophole that
(10:22):
was gonna be fifteen billion of revenue. Cinema says, no, no no, no, no,
those are rich donors. I want to keep that for them.
Democrats don't really care about paying your fair share. They
just want to take a lot from you and give
it to people to keep them in power. She's a yes,
which I knew she would be. So they get the
Chips Bill, which is a spending bill. Republicans went along
(10:44):
with it. They school the Republicans on the facts of
life when it comes to what happens in politics when
you just go with a handshake and a smile. They
pass or are in the process of passing. I believe
tomorrow they're actually going to hold the Senate vote on it,
This anti inflation Biden Bill, which is just a version
of Build Back Better. And they also now have the
(11:09):
Kansas referendum, which they've used a huge victory for abortion
rights or you know, for abortion. Although I think that's exaggerated,
it is something that has energized the multi billion dollar
abortion industry and lobby. So now with the job support,
I'm telling you they're feeling like the winds are shifting
(11:31):
in their direction. I'm not panicking. I'm not saying that
we aren't going to have a very strong showing in
this mid term. I do think this week is a
reminder that there is no celebration until the victory is complete.
There is no retreat until we are victorious. That means
(11:54):
taking back both the House and the Senate. The House
is looking good, but we want a big majority in
the House. Just a little itty bitty majority. You want
a big majority in the House and in the Senate.
It's gonna be tough. We'll talk more about some of
these Senate races in just a few minutes here, So
stay with me for all of that. My friends, it's
(12:14):
gonna be a busy show today. Also, it's Friday. I'd
love to take some of your calls. Eight hundred two
eight two two eight eight two. No matter where you are,
it is hot outside, and if you're outside on this
kind of heat for any amount of time, it's a
big drain on your energy. Why not give yourself an edge.
There's something that counteracts that sense of malaise and I
don't want to move. What am I gonna do? Comes
(12:36):
from Chalk. Chalk is spelled c h o q. This

Travis and Buck Sexton Show starts now. Thanks everybody for
joining in here for listening in. Clay on vacation today
up in Michigan with the fam. He will be back
on Monday. He's having a great time senses regards to
all of you across the country. Big congratulations to Carry
(14:08):
Lake for winning the GOP primary out in Arizona for
the governor's mansion. She said that she had the only
pathway to win after there was a little bit of
a too close to call moment in the media. And
she is now officially I thought I thought she would be.
She is officially now the GOP nominee in that race.
(14:30):
So it's gonna be it's gonna be big, folks. Gonna
be a big election cycle in this in this fall,
and we're gonna be talking about it so much. So
a win for Carry Lake, that's that's a good thing. Obviously,
this is primary stuff, though we want to see some
wins in the general elections. I think Carry's going to
be a formidable candidate there as well. I did say
(14:52):
Page and doctor Oz, you might have to get him
on the show and say, hey, can you can you
please take the take the fight to the Fetterman campaign
a little bit more here up in Pennsylvania, because this
is a guy who is in favor of Fetterman, in
favor of men competing on women's sports team, says that
fracking was a stain on the state of Pennsylvania, which
(15:14):
is just crazy. Had his parents paying his bills until
he was in his forties. But he looks like a
like a kind of a rough and tumble guy. He looks,
you know, like a person you'd know from the steel
mill or whatever. So that seems to be throwing off
some voters there. He's a progressive, he's a left wing
(15:35):
guy who has had wealthy parents paying his bills as
an adult for quite a number of years. So I
think doctor Roz got to step it up a little
bit there. We also should bring back herschel Walker soon
to talk about what he's doing in the state of
Georgia to take that seat from from Raphael Warnock. So
(15:59):
we're not looking great on the Senate side. We got
to really step it up when you're looking at these
close Senate races. Arizona, Arizona Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia. These are critical.
These are critical places right now for a g OP pickup.
(16:19):
And remember, if they managed to hold on to the Senate,
if the Democrats even by the narrowest, even by the
fifty fifty we currently have because Kamala Harris is the tiebreaker,
if they managed to do that, they're gonna get some
judicial nominees in place, They're gonna get their appointees. Sailing
(16:42):
right through even a divided Congress with the Senate in
the hands of Democrats is going to be a challenge.
That's going to be something that we really would like
to avoid, and right now is not looking It's so
good you got Laxa against Cortez, Masto and Nevada. That
(17:03):
one is is a toss up right now. I think
lack Salt's gonna be able to pull ahead there. Oz
Fetterman keep saying it. We gotta step up on that one.
I've got to think about how to make that one
a closer race than it currently is. So those are
the ones, the ones that are on the margins. Balduck
(17:26):
and Hassan up in a New Hampshire. That one's gonna
go blue. So anyway, we can't get ahead of ourselves
or can't celebrate you early because there's nothing to celebrate.
Bottom line, we haven't done anything yet, We have not
actually won, and so I want everyone to stay focused
on it. We will continue to look closely at these
issues and make sure that we give them all the
(17:48):
due attention because the border inflation, the Afghanistan withdrawal, COVID policies,
these are all areas were I mean, Democrats should just
be getting completely crushed when you add these things together.
And yet in the Senate. On the Senate side, it's
going to come down to candidates against candidates. It's not
(18:11):
The national narrative is not going to be enough. The
national narrative is not going to get it done. So
this is why it's so important for us to continue
to spend time folks again and making sure that you're
all fired up about this. Down in floor. Is some
good news. I just said to talk to you about
the the Brianna Taylor case before it's there's a lot,
(18:32):
there are a lot of moving pieces there, so I
know I had to go and add some additional details.
Interestingly enough, the only officer who was charged Matt in
that case. Who was acquitted was his He didn't actually
hit Brianna Taylor. And the individual who shot at the
officers was charged, but he he was charged with trying
(18:53):
to kill one of the police officers. He was not
He was found not guilty, and there Brianna Taylor's family
got twelve million dollars from the city of Louisville, and
there was a ban on no knock raids and acted
as a result of it. And the officers were either
(19:13):
resigned or were fired who were involved in it. One
of them faced criminal charges, and now there's federal charges
against all four. Is the final way this case is
going down. So who controls the levers of justice is
a very important thing. Who's making the decisions about prosecution,
about resources from the justice system. Look, there's no other
(19:40):
The IRS has the power to really harass you and
maybe ruin your life, but usually it doesn't go that far.
As much as the Democrats want to make more IRS officers,
more IRS agents able to audit you. But the DOJ
can destroy you if it wants to. It'll bankrupt you,
it'll ruin your reputation if you have the wrong people
(20:00):
in charge there. It's also true of state prosecutors. I
have not forgotten at all, and some of you who
live and we've got a great audience up in Milwaukee
and the Wisconsin Wisconsin in general Milwaukee area, the efforts
to go after Scott Walker using what they called the
John Doe laws in that state, pushed by the most
(20:21):
dishonest and disgraceful left wing prosecutors out of Milwaukee. By
the way, they would do everything in their power to
try to try to destroy Scott Walker politically, including ruining
employees of the state of Wisconsin for the most minor
and fraction if they thought they were somehow coordinating their
(20:42):
messaging with the Walker campaign. It was crazy stuff that
John Doe investigates. You to go back and remember that.
It's worth actually a read again just to see. The
good news is that it doesn't have to be this way.
And when you have progressive prosecutors who are engaged in
politics instead of law enforcement, you can take steps against them.
(21:03):
And that's why I'm so happy to see Governor Ron Desantists,
who I feel like just keep showing Republican governors the way.
Now there are others who who are doing a lot
of follow onto what Desantist does, which is great. We
had Kevin Stiddon recently from Oklahoma. He's doing a great job.
There are governors out there who are saying, I see
(21:26):
what's going on in Florida and I want to take
similar actions. But desantists just yesterday suspended Soros backs State
Attorney Andrew Warren. Here is the announcement of that we
don't elect people in one part of the state to
have veto power over what the entire state decides on
these important issues. The Constitution of Florida has vested the
(21:48):
veto power in the governor, not an individual state attorneys.
And so when you flagrantly violate your oath of office,
when you make yourself above the law, you have violated
your duty, you have neglected your duty, and you are
displaying a lack of competence to be able to reform
those duties. And so today we are suspending State Attorney
(22:12):
Andrew Warren, effective in media suspended him, and I hope
I don't know what the regulations are, the rules on
the books are in the state of Florida for this specifically,
but I hope they're able to terminate him. He has
made it very clear. First of all, he was, and
I saw this last night on a Tucker Show on Fox.
(22:35):
Andrew Warren was one of these people who was bragging
effectively about arresting, arresting priests for having a service or
a deacon, I forget what is specific religious affiliation was
but arresting somebody for having church services. And he was saying, Yeah,
that's right, that's how we keep you safe. So he's
(22:56):
a progressive, he's a lib. And these people are crazy.
I mean, they just they don't live in reality, and
they will. They will hurt you with the power they
have if they can and if they desire to do so.
So you got to take action here. I mean Alvin Bragg,
who is the disattorney in New York right now, he's
under a lot of pressure because the numbers are just
(23:17):
irrefutable at this point, spent a lot of time talking
about it yesterday. You've got people committing over a hundred
crimes and never serving any real time. One hundred arrests.
I mean, if you're a company, you arrest somebody for
the hundredth time, you got to think, what's the point
of this exactly? They're not actually paying a price. We
(23:39):
were led to believe by this progressive prosecutor movement by
the end mass incarceration BLM activists that there's so many
people who are in prison who are either entirely innocent
or didn't do anything really very minor stole a bag
of potato chips and now they're serving ten years. It's awful.
It's not true. It's just not true. And that change
(24:02):
is finally, I think, settling into people's minds. I think
they're starting to see more and more now the direct
cause and effect here. If you have a progressive prosecutor,
you have somebody who's an ideologue as a prosecutor, and
they undermine the law. Actually, it's worse than not being
good at their jobs. They hurt the law that they
(24:23):
are supposed to be protecting. And that's exactly what was
going on in Florida in the Tampa area, and it's
happening in many places. So anyway, any Republican governors who
can should take action here. Les Elden running against HOCl
in New York State, I just any New Yorker at
(24:44):
this point, what are you doing voting for HOC? Honestly,
such a disaster, wrong on everything, and just so really
to say unimpressive, is very kind. Why is anyone going
to vote for this? Lady? Wow, people just vote Democrats.
They vote Democrat. Leezelvin says he'll fire Alvin Bragg as governor.
(25:04):
He'll fire the district Attorney of New York first day
on the job. Are all the other Republican governors paying
attention because I know in some of the cities, even
Houston progressive prosecutor. How many folks well, actually Houston residents
certainly know that, but people the rest of the country
think about that. The state of Texas, you wouldn't expect
it progressive. I'm sure the prosecutor in either Dallas or
(25:25):
Austin or both is probably progressive as well. Maybe even
Sorrow's funded. It's hard to keep up because there's so
many of them. Take action, get rid of where possible
and lawful, these prosecutors who are left wing activists wielding
the law for the benefit of the Democrat Party and
(25:46):
for honestly, the socialist and commie mindset in this country.
Do what you can use the power that you have
while you have it, because there are quite literally lives
at stake. We look at the homicide numbers, you look
at the shootings, the assaults, the rapes, the rob breeze.
If people aren't going to use their power to protect
the innocent, they should not be prosecutors. My friends, Mike
(26:07):

their products, and they're succeeding. They've put another of their

try calling them eight hundred seven nine two three two
six nine and use our promo code clay and But
(27:12):
you're worried about an attack on the homeland emanating from
places like Afghanistan. So we are as somebody who was
in the FBI building on nine to eleven a little
over twenty years ago and have met with the families
in the years afterwards. I think about that day every day,
especially now that we're out. I'm worried about the potential
(27:34):
loss of sources and collection over there, so we're gonna
have growing intelligence scats, and I'm worried about the possibility
that we will see el Kaieda reconstitute the ices K,
potentially taking advantage of the deteriorating security environment. And I'm
worried about terrorists, including here in the United States, being
inspired by what they see over there. Welcome back to
(27:58):
clay An Buck. That was the FBI direct Chris Ray
saying that, And he's an institutionalist, by the way, I
don't think that it's even so much that he is
a Democrat aligned individual as he is aligned with the
institution of the FBI above all else, which is often
(28:19):
the case for people that rise through these bureaucracies. But
that said, I was just telling you as a wake
up week for us in politics, for Republicans, for conservatives.
I also think on the national security side, we got
a bit of a wake up call in a number
of a number of fronts a number of places around
(28:41):
the world. Let's start with the strike in Afghanistan against
I'm in all Zawihiri, so Zawehire's gone hit with a
so called ninja missile. Big blades come out of it.
Doesn't have the same spital effect as a more conventional
(29:02):
explosive missiles do. So it's like they call it a switchblade.
I think as well, right, isn't that or maybe just
the ninja missile. There's switchblade drones. I don't know. Stuff
to keep up with all the cool names for these things.
They didn't have back in my day. We didn't have
ninja missiles. We had the old school missiles. But they
took out so our here, which is a good thing
(29:23):
in that it is justice. But for anybody who understands
the region he was living in, a big house writing
downtown Cobble, one hundred percent that the regime, the Taliban
knows about his presence, welcomed his presence, and we're defending him.
We're giving him safe harbor. There's no question about that.
(29:47):
So just understand that al Qaeda's top leader, the number
two to have have been lauden for many years, the guy
who was directly involved in plotting nine to eleven as
well as other major attacks. He was saying as a
special guest, a VIP guest of the Taliban in Kabble.
Now right now, we see these situation Afghanistan. They're having
(30:07):
food shortages, their economy is a mess, and we just
hope that it stays pretty quiet for a while. But
everybody who knows the region, I know many of you
served there, you know all too well the realities of
the Taliban, the Taliban mindset, it's just a matter of
time before they start to support in ways that maybe
(30:32):
at first have plausible deniability on the world stage. But
I don't even know how much they care about that
support gee hottest terrorist groups in their own country but
also throughout the region. It's only a matter of time.
What are we going to do about that that's a
tough conversation to have right now, isn't it. We know
we don't want to go in there and try to
(30:52):
rebuild the country, but Afghanistan as a platform for global
gee hottests. Again, I would say it is likely that
that happens in Perhaps it's going to take a few years,
but that's where it's heading. That's what's going on there.
Iran has said that they will get or they've gotten
(31:14):
even closer to nuclear breakout capacity. The Iranians now flexing
muscle on that issue with Russia. Remember in the early
days we were told of the Russia Ukraine War. First
of all, there was such a focus on the ghost
of Kiev. Fake the sailors who died on Snake Islands
(31:37):
didn't happen that way. The Russians are going to pull
out any moment, because the Ukrainian military is valiantly defending
their home territory against the Russian bear. True in the
sense that they were valiant, False in the sense that
obviously the war has been going on for many months now.
Russian economy has proved durable throughout even though we have
(32:02):
all these sanctions and the rest of the place and
Putin has not for one second forgotten that we are
sending munitions that are being directly used to kill Russian soldiers.
I'll remind everybody you know, you have to think about
this the way your enemy does to understand what their
next moves may be. There was a period of time
(32:24):
when the Iranians we're using or we're sending EFPs, and
then the Iranians just had their militias, their people conducting
these kinds of attacks too. And the Iranian hand in
Iraq has only gotten stronger in the last ten years.
But they were they were sending over EFP's explosively formed
penetrators where the explosion behind a copper plate creates this
(32:50):
almost like a metal molten hyper bullet that punches holes
even in up armored vehicles, and that was used to
kill and maim a lot of our service. The Iranians
did that, and we and we remember we held we
held them to account in some ways, not nearly as
much as we should have. But that was certainly on
(33:10):
the minds of the people around Trump when they ordered
the strike that took out Kasam Solimani. Remember that Kasam
Solimani strike. He had that whole program of supplying arms
to Shia militias in Iraq that we're attacking US soldiers.
Point here, being putin is not okay with what's going on,
(33:32):
and he will find ways to try to offset the
US influence, offset US stability around the world and at home.
Now you can be prepared for that. And of course China,
China in the aftermath of the Pelosi visit, there which
very interesting to see people are on the right supportive
(33:53):
of the visit, but also critical of what the visit
will accomplish. It's there's a very confused, used messaging over Taiwan.
It's strategic ambiguity is our policy in more ways than
people are willing to admit. It's really just ambiguity in general,
because we don't know what the heck we're going to do.
(34:14):
What are we supposed to do here? We keep saying
that we support and when I say we, I mean
the US government supports the One China policy and not
unilateral independence for Taiwan, but doesn't support a Chinese obviously
would theoretically oppose, even with military force, a Chinese invasion
of Taiwan. All right, well, where does that leave us?
(34:38):
In response to the Pelosi visit ap saying that China
announced it will end all contact with the US on
major issues climate cooperation that led to the International Paris Accord. Yeah,
well that doesn't worry. I mean other things do though,
high level military discussions freezing lines of communitytions. There. There
(35:01):
are exercises going on right now, including the firing of
missiles that have splashed in Taiwanese waters. Chinese firing those missiles.
The USS Reagan, the aircraft carrier, has been told to
stay in the region to keep an eye on things.
This is a This is a downturn in the regional
(35:23):
stability and security that the Biden administration didn't really invite.
Nancy Pelosi did. So what exactly are we going to
do in response to all of that? I sense a
deterioration coming. I do not believe that people can predict
the future, but I think you can see trends. Look
(35:44):
at this White House, look at the people making these decisions.
They are incompetent. They take the America last position as
often as they can. And these areas of the world
that have been major regions of either conflict or serious
(36:05):
instability for years. Now things are heating up. Things are
heating up, and we got Joe Biden in charge. So
I don't know where it's going to happen, but I
do think this administration it's not gonna It's likely that
it won't happen before the election, but I think you're
going to see this Biden administration tested with an international
(36:25):
relations and national security crisis that rocks it to its core.
We already saw an Afghanistan with the withdrawal. What a
debacle that was. Same people are in charge, my friends,
same decision makers at the top. Something's coming our way,
and unfortunately, with this team calling the shots, it's not
(36:47):
going to go well. So we need to be prepared.
We need to get ready. How's it that a single
product can help so many people? Relief Factor has been
ordered by more than half a million people, all in
an effort to help reduce crime every day paid. That
kind of pain is so often the result of inflammation.
It happens when you're working a physical job forty or
fifty or more hours a week, from aging or just
(37:09):
over exertion with exercise. That's what got me when I
started to pick up my exercise game, Oh man, I
felt that pain in the shoulder. I woke up one day.
It's been there for a while, but it's receding finally
thanks to our friends at relief Factor, because I'm now
taking They're recommended three packets a day. Their packets contain small,
easy to swallow pills containing just four all natural ingredients.
(37:32):
Once you get in the habit, it's so easy, and
once you feel the benefits, you're gonna really want to
keep that habit locked in. My friends, trust me. It's
one hundred percent drug free. Created by doctors. Relief Factor
is backed by and was perfected over fifteen years of
scientific research. Join them. More than half a million people
order the three week quickstart for only nineteen ninety five.
(37:53):
Go to relief Factor dot com or call eight hundred
four Relief to get the nineteen ninety five three week
quickstart developed for you. That's relief Factor dot Com or
call a hundred the number four Relief. We've all seen
the sentencing conviction of Britney Grinder to nine years in prison,
and that further compounds the injustice that's being done to
(38:15):
her and her wrongful detention. It puts a spotlight on
our very Signfican concern with Russia's legal system and the
Russian government's use of wrongful detentions to advance its own
agenda using individuals as political bonds. The same goes for
Paul Wheelan. We put forward, as you know, a substantial
proposal that Russias had engaged with us on. And what
(38:35):
Foreign Minister Lavrov said this morning and said publicly, is
that they are prepared to engage through channels we've established
to do just that, and we'll be pursuing that. That
was a Secretary of State speaking about Britney Grinder getting
a nine year sentence in Russian prison, where she's going
to Russian prisons as of now for nine years. Just yesterday,
(39:00):
the Russians have confirmed that the trade negotiations are under
way for Victor Bout, the arms trafficker, notorious arms trafficker
who served as the inspiration for the Nicolas Cage character
in the film Lord of War. That trade may be happening,
and it would include Paul whale In, a former marine
(39:23):
who was wrongfully charged with espionage in Russia. And so
this is a inherently a foreign policy issue, which is
why the Secretary of State anytime an American has held abroad,
there's a reason that the embassy gets involved. Now, that
doesn't mean the embassy gets you out. Doesn't mean the
American government even says, hey, you're not allowed to hold
(39:44):
that person. Depends on what you do. You know, if
you're drunk driving and caused a serious accident in Tajikistan,
you're going to serve some time in prison, right, doesn't
matter that there's a US embassy there. They're going to say, yeah,
this person violeted your laws. But they'll they'll be there
to make sure that you have some for you know,
for humanitarian purposes. Some do process rights that they'll try
(40:07):
to do what they can with the the host government
to make sure that the best interests of that American
citizen are looked after. Essentially is how it goes. But
I know there was a really interesting how much the
the audience I think yesterday of this program really felt
(40:28):
a whole range of emotions over this um when it
comes to Brittany Griner and I should you know, there's
this amazing story. I don't know if anyone can there's
a I've seen it pop up over the years. I
wonder if it is apocryphal. It's supposedly from the Ronald
Ronald Reagan's speech back in I think it was the
(40:50):
seventies where he talked about the uss Ingram and a
refugee from the Austro Hungarian Empire and Kasta. I've not
been able to find that much documentation of this speech,
and it looks like one of these stories that I
don't know. It's an amazing story though, for what it is,
(41:13):
and you know what, I'll read this one thing. I
can't verify the providence of this, but it's a good story,
so we can say it's either a speech that it's
either from a speech that Reagan gave, or it's just
something that somebody made up on the Internet that sounds
like a speech Reagan gave, and it's really good. I
know there is a uss Ingram, there have been many
(41:35):
of them, many iterations of that in the United States Navy.
But you see this one. This is the story that
pops up. And I'm wondering if someone could send me
a true source verification for this in Reagan's speeches, because
I've done a little looking and was naughty, and don't
just send me like Reagan speech slash net dot php underscore.
(41:57):
It's got to be you know, show me. I need
to see the original source material on it. But here's
the story, apocryphal or not. In less than twenty years,
would go because the god given rights of American sailors,
as defined in the Constitution were being violated by a
foreign power. This is supposed to be Reagan speaking here.
We serve notice then, on the world, that all of
us together would act collectively to safeguard the rights of
(42:20):
even the least among us. But still in an older
cynical world, they were not convinced. The great powers of
Europe still had the idea that one day this great
continent would be open again to colonizing, and they would
come over and divide us up. In the meantime, men
who yearned to breathe free were making their way to
our shores. Among them was a young refugee from the
(42:41):
Austro Hungarian Empire. He had been a leader in an
attempt to free Hungary from Austrian rule. The attempt had failed,
and he fled to escape execution. In America. This young
Hungarian Costa by name, became an importer by trade and
took out his first citizenship papers. One day, business took
(43:01):
him to a Mediterranean port. There was a large Austrian
warship under the command of an admiral in the harbor.
He had a manservant with him. He had described this
manservant what the flag of his new country looked like.
Word was passed to the Austrian warship. At This revolutionary
was there, and in the night he was kidnapped and
taken aboard that large ship. This man's servant, desperate, walking
(43:24):
up and down the harbor, suddenly spied a flag that
resembled the description he had heard. It was a small
American war sloop. He went aboard and told Captain Ingraham
of that war sloop his story. Captain Ingraham went to
the American consul. When the American consul learned that Costa
had only taken out his first citizenship papers, the consul
(43:46):
washed his hands of the incident. Captain Ingraham said, I
am the senior officer in this port, and I believe,
under my oath of my office, that I owe this
man the protection of our flag. He went aboard the
Austrian warship and demanded to see their prisoner, our citizen.
The admiral was amused, but they brought the man on deck.
He was in chains and had been badly beaten. Captain
(44:08):
Ingraham said, I can hear him better without those chains,
and the chains were removed. He walked over and said
to Costa, I will ask you one question. Consider your
answer carefully. Do you ask the protection of the American
flag Becausta not a dumbley? Yes? And the captain said
you shall have it. He went back and told the
(44:29):
frightened console what he had done. Later in the day,
three more Austrian warships sailed into the harbor. It looked
as though the four were getting ready to leave. Captain
Ingraham sent a junior officer over to the Austrian flagship
to tell the admiral that any attempt to leave that
harbor with our citizen aboard would be resisted with appropriate force.
He said that he would expect a satisfactory answer by
(44:50):
four o'clock that afternoon. As the hour near, they looked
at each other through the glasses. As it struck four,
he had them roll the cannons into ports and had
them light the tapers with which they would set off
the cannons just one little sloop. Suddenly the lookout tower
called out and said, they are lowering a boat, and
they rode Costa over to the little American ship. Captain
(45:12):
Ingraham then went below and wrote his resignation letter for
the United States Navy. In it, he said, I did
what I thought my office of oath required, but if
I have embarrassed my country in any way, I resign.
His resignation was refused in the United States Senate with
these words. This battle that was never fought may turn
out to be the most important battle in our nation's history. Incidentally,
to this day, there always will be and has been
(45:34):
a uss Ingraham in the United States Navy. I don't
know if that's really from a regged speech. It's one
of these things that gets set around by like you know,
friends or friends on the internet. It's a great story.
Is it real? I don't know. Sounds real. It's well written,
but it was making its rounds and I just I
(45:55):
thought of this because I'd seen this for many, many
years circulating on the internet, and I thought, well, that's
kind of how I feel about any American who is
held abroad. So it please it. By the way, if
you can prove it that is real, let it let
me know. Don't send a link that seems kind of
seems suspect. But it's the basic ethos of this I
(46:18):
agree with, which is that if you're an American, you're
one of ours. Even if you say annoying stuff, even
if you have bad you know, bad politics, whatever, if
you're an American, you're one of ours. And that still matters,
still matters to me, And the First Amendment still matters
to me a lot too, which is why I'm I'm.
(46:39):
I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about this
or covering the the trial right now going on with
Alex Jones. And I'll say this, if I had watched
it more closely, if I had more time, I think
I would have spent more on it this week. But
there's a lot of things that have been happening and
I just haven't really been diving into it. Look, the
(47:00):
stuff that he said about Sandy Oak, we all knows
is atrocious. It's wrong, and it's grotesque. But they I
do remember that Alex Jones was the first person that
they really made an example of on the internet, years
and years ago, before they were admitting that they were
banning conservatives, they banned Alex Jones, or I should say,
(47:21):
before they were banning people like me or or anyone else,
you know, for saying masks don't work or having having
any questions about the vaccines. Alex Jones was the first
person I can remember to be deep personed in essence
from the Internet by big tech. So I remember that lesson,
and it was because he was a They would saying
he was a crazy person, and he's you know, he's
(47:43):
s taking a couple of shots at me in the past. Whatever.
It's part of the business for some people. They say
things about some people. And he said, I was I
think a CIA plant meant to take over the media,
which I wish man that would be amazing. CIA was
backing me taking over the media. Book Sexton part of
the CIA. He's gonna just take it all over, build
a Berg's Illuminati. But he's unders he's gone through this
(48:07):
Trilogy's got a four million dollars judgment against him. And
you know, there is this I think we've lost sight
in this country. We have both a legal and an
ethical principle that free speech, even speech that is heinous,
even speech that is wrong, is protected. I know there
are exceptions with defamation. I know there are some places
(48:30):
where that is not an absolute, but are they making
an example of Alex Jones right now, because no one's
going to stand up and in any way defend the
things that he said. Are they Are they doing this
though at some level because this will be a precedent
that has used to shut down people who are you know,
(48:52):
vaccine critic criminals, so to speak. Look at the lives
that you've caused by being a questioner of the vaccine.
I do worry about this, and I think that it's
something we all have to keep an eye on that
It always starts with the least defensible. It always starts
with the people that you say, oh you know that,
(49:12):
why do you say that? Or why is he doing that?
And the left never leaves it there. Most businesses these
