out of the asteroid field. Should be smooth sailing from

Oh, good piloting, Malachi and good job spotting that opening Zeke.

Speaker 5 (01:20):
Hey u MC is the light on the camera supposed
to be flashing?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Huh? Oh must have forgotten to hit the switch when
Kai put the ship in hyperdrive. Hope I didn't drain
the juice from it. Let's see. Hmmm, looks like there's
still a lot of charge left. We should be okay
for now. Sorry about that. As you probably heard, we've

(01:47):
made it through the asteroid field. Mission X is still ago,
continuing on our journey updates, though. This is video log
for day three. At the end of day two, the
Helix Nebula had picked up a distress signal. We did
what any crew of the Space Alliance would do and
made for the signal right away.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
How much closer according to the ship's tracking system, We're
getting close.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Okai, how's it looking.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Let's see space, space, more space and oh mc zeke,
you're both gonna want to see this.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Whoa, It looks like the remains of some space battle.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
Not just any battle. This was the work of space pirates. Look,
someone even wrote beware of space pirates on the wreckage.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
This space pirates. I thought the captain said they didn't
come out here.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
They s the design of these ships. I would say
this battle happened years ago. No one makes ships like
these any more.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
So that distress signal we heard someone's been calling for
help for all these years. How is that possible?

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Maybe someone just left the distress signal and after they
were rescued.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
More likely, the signal was turned on when the ships
were under attack. The mechanism was probably broken when the
ship was hit.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Well, we're not gonna find out what happened by staying
in here. Suit up, everyone, It's time to do a
little investigating.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Uh. Does anyone else's spacesuit feel a little itchy?

Speaker 5 (03:37):

Everyone stick together? Okay, Zeke, can you pull up the
signal from your suit?

Way ahead of you?

MC?

It looks like the signal is coming from that ship
over there.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Here's the ship. Doesn't look like anyone's here.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Well, we checked it out. Nothing to say, I say
we go back to the helix, Nebula, don't you.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
What was that?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Hello?

Speaker 4 (04:08):
Is anyone there. We're from the Space Alliance. We picked
up your distress signal and are here to help you.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Please don't be space pirates. Please don't be space pirates.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Ah? Is that a squirrel?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
It definitely looks like one.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
A squirrel, like those small critters with fluffy tails, the
things they have on Earth. What's it doing all the
way out here in space?

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Hum? According to my Sonic goggles, this is a spiral squirrel.
These squirrels were discovered soon after Mars was inhabited. They
were given the name of spiral squirrels because their tail
is shaped like a spiral. Oh well, aren't you just
this cutest little spiral squirrel I've ever seen?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Do you like jellybeans? Zeke?

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Everything?

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Okay?

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Hey, I'm not sure. I feel like I read something
about spiral squirrels once, but I can't remember when it is.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
It's probably just some obscure fact about their eating habits
or something. Isn't that white, mister squirrel?

Speaker 5 (05:15):
No, that's not it.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Listen, I don't see anyone else here. We should probably
get back to the ship.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Oh can we sick him with us? Mc?

Speaker 6 (05:26):
Can we?

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Can we? Kim we Kennedy? Can we? How was I
supposed to know what would happen next?

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Ti? I'm in the middle of day three's video log.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Sorry, ugh, where was I?

We brought the squirrel back to the Helix Nebula with us.
At first, it seems fine.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
And over here's the navigation station. This is where Zeke sits.
He's the smart one. And here's the button for the
laser cage. Don't touch it, okay, And over here is
where I sit. Being the pilot is a pretty big deal.
I'd basically run the helix Nebula. Uh did I say run?

(06:10):
I meant steer, because you know, pilots steer spaceships in
the right direction under the direction of mc.

Speaker 5 (06:18):
Hey Kai, mc can I speak to you too for
a sec privately?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
What's up, bro? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Everything okay, Zeke.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
I don't think it's a great idea to be showing
the squirrel where everything on the ship is, especially the controls.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
It's just a squirrel, Zeke, Yeah, a very cute squirrel.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
I remember what I had learned about the spiral squirrels, okay,
and it was that sometimes space pirates used them to
trick unsuspecting voyagers. They'd hide them in old rex with
a distress signal, so anyone trying to help them would
get robbed by the pirates hiding nearby.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Come on, Zeke, even I think that sounds a little
far fetched.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Uh, you guys.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
It's not far fetched. It's based on information provided by
a series of eyewitnesses.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
You guys, what the squirrel has taken over the control.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
And now he's activated the laser cage with us inside.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
You tricked us? How could you? What do you mean
it was just a job? I mean we trusted you.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
I would like to point out that I did not,
in fact trust the squirrel.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
Oh no, the squirrel activated our location signal. That signal
tells everyone in the galaxy exactly where we.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Are, which means any space priorc to your BIB will
know exactly where to find us. See can your smart
glasses or whatever tell us what to do? That's not
how they work, but they might be able to tell
me how to deactivate a laser cage. No, no, no,
maybe here, AMC. I need you to activate your electro

shield and run through the laser beams.

Speaker 3 (08:13):

Speaker 4 (08:16):

Oh now to turn the location signal off and daz
for you. Looks like it's done to send you to
your new home, little squirrel. So if anyone was wondering
why a spiral squirrel with its paws handcuffed thrived in

one of our escape pods, that's why. As soon as
I got zeeken Kai out of the laser cage, we
made our way back en route to the Solar diamonds.
