Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ohed, I won't.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Hello and welcome to True Romance. This is Carolina Barlow
and this is Devin Leary and we have a birthday today.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Y'all know I'm a birthday yeah, meaning when it's my birthday,
I make it known, and I expect others to do
the same.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
You're very much like Stassy from VPR that way.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
I am.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
I am very much like that, and I do take
things personally when people don't know. Actually, this year, I
will say because like a couple of friends texted me
and were like, is it your actual birthday?
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Because I did like a little celebration.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Thing, and I was like, you know what, I don't
remember anyone's birthday, Like I always have, even my closest friends.
I have to check, and I like look at Instagram
when some and has like tagged them in a birthday
thing and I'm like, oh, yeah, that's them. So I
don't really take that personally, but I do expect, like,
you know, gifts and celebrations and stuff like that. And
(01:14):
I will say it's been a year. It's been a year.
It sure has. But I feel like I'm on the
other side of so much. I feel like to think
about where I was last year on my birthday. It's
like so exhausting because of the amount of like more
pain that was still left. Like it's like, okay, I
was still about to get back together with my ex boyfriend,
(01:37):
which was a huge mistake, and I was still about
to after we broke up the second time, get like
misled into like this weird friendship thing where I would
like hang out with him as a friend, and it
was very confusing, and I was still like just didn't
love myself. So to think about having to be back
(01:58):
there is like so exhaust and I'm so happy that
I'm here.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I feel much happier.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
I struggle still so much with everything self esteem and stuff.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
But I really believe that I deserve.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Good things and that I am good and valuable.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
You seem much happier.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
I feel happier aside, even and by the way, if
I wasn't dating someone new, I would still be happier.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
I would still It doesn't hurt, That's all I'll say.
It doesn't hurt.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
It doesn't hurt to be dating someone who is very
sweet and got me. I do have to say, like
an incomprehensibly good birthday, get you. I don't know if
it's bad to say it on the pod, but like
it was truly like I was.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Shook to my court.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
It's a painting of the scene from the Real Housewives
the Salt Lake City finale where Heather says receipts timeline proof,
except that Heather is my cat Olive yes, and Monica
is my cat Cookie and this my my romantic interest
did say, which was so true. He said, Cookie is
(03:08):
the type of person that you would need receipts on,
and I said, yes, Cookie is always causing drama.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Cookie is reality vonteez he is. He's fake.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
He's like one second he's like so cuddly sweet, the
next second he's biting me.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
He's I like, came home from Seattle. He acted like
he didn't know who I was.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
And I'm like, wait, didn't you act like, I'm like
the you're giving me kisses every morning?
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Who are you?
Speaker 3 (03:29):
And all of is very stoic and noble and consistent.
So I said, these personalities do line up, and it
was really.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I mean, there's nothing better than a thoughtful gift, because
there they are so few and far between.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
It's like, I mean, to be thought of. It's like
I always tell this story of like my.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
What my worst ex boyfriend, Like it was like the
love it was like when we first got together, the
love bombing of like the first birthday we spent together
was like insane, Like he like planned this crazy thing,
got me an autographed copy of the script for the
movie Hustlers, all this stuff, and then the next year
he literally got me nothing, not even a card.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
And then when I like said something about.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
It, it was like, well, it's like a global pandemic, like
people are like going.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Through And I was like, oh, literally, God.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
You had to do was put a donut on a
plate and say like happy birthday, you know what I mean.
It's like just do something and and that's the bare
minimum and it's not a reality Vontee's portrait of my cat, So.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
That rules.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
But I'm gonna say is, if you can afford the
time it takes to like dive deep into why you
carry around a ton of shame all the time and
don't really see yourself as deserving good things, I can't
recommend it enough.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
I don't think it's a coincidence that you started being
with people who understood your value. When you start understanding
your value and listen. They said it would happened, and
I never believe them. They were always saying that.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
They were like, you have to love yourself before other
people can love you. You have to love yourself before
you can find someone. And I was like, I don't
know what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Shut up, shut up. I'm happy. But it's really true.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
It's also like I there's just such a difference the
way I am in this connection. Like he is very
complimentary and stuff, but every time he says like something
like nice about me, I'm like, I know, I know
that's true. I know that I'm like, you know, all
of these things, and I also feel like I really
deserve the relationship, and I think that that makes me
(05:45):
feel I'm also like this, Okay, this sounds so stupid.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
This sounds so stupid, and I know it does, but
I'm gonna say it anyway.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
The amount I don't whatever, I'm just gonna say. I'm
like self conscious to say it because I think it's
really stupid. But I saw a picture of myself last
year come up in like my iPhone memories and it's
like literally this time last year, and I think that
it's amazing to do whatever you want to your appearance,
Like I support that.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
So much, but like I literally looked like an ef
A person.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
I had like a spray tan, eyelash extensions, highlights in
my hair, like all this stuff, and I was doing
like laser treatments to get my body hair off and
all this stuff. And it's like I literally feel no
incentive to do that stuff right now. Like I'm just
like I don't, like, I really like the way I
look and I don't think it's like necessary and I
know that sounds stupid, but just like I spent so
(06:34):
much money trying to make myself parable. And this picture
was taken on a day that I was gonna hang
out with my ex boyfriend, like and we weren't even together,
and it was just like this thing of like maybe
if I look the most perfect, and I just don't
feel that way at all now, Like I just feel
like whatever I look like is enough, and whoever doesn't
and I do that is usually my second thought now,
(06:55):
is like when something comes up, like stuff that I'm
insecure about, if this is if that's a deal for
this person, They're not my person, Like that's it. And
if someone cares so much about what I look like.
That it makes a difference if I have like a
spray tan or not. They're not my person because I
don't give a fuck about that, right, But I.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Am going to keep getting my boattox, Amma Philla.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
I was going to say, maybe this will help me
not spend a rent payment on my filler and botox.
But as someone who's lost control about over how some
of my body looks like, I am totally happy with
changing my appearance. But I understand what you're saying I do,
(07:36):
and I think I think I'm waiting. I'm in the
position of waiting for someone to love me so I
know I'm lovable, and that's just not a healthy place
to be or I'm not going to even like prescribe
it as not healthy, but it's not conducive to getting
that relationship because you're coming from a place of lack
(07:58):
and like, I need you to tell me I'm good
so then I can start walking around knowing I'm good. Yeah,
And I don't think that's very healthy and I don't
want to rely on someone to tell me who I am.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
I agree with that.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I also think one thing I've learned this year because
like a friend of mine sent me a TikTok yesterday
that was like about how like the apps are dead,
like don't go on the apps anymore, and I was like,
the one thing I've learned this year is like dating
advice is kind of pointless unless.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
It's like as coming from us and you're a subscriber.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
No, But what I mean is like unless it's a
specific situation where someone's like, Okay, my boyfriend did this
weird thing, like or my girlfriend is like really bad
at texting and it makes me feel this way, But
like blanket statements where it's like this is how you
need to date, this is what the apps are dead
that this is that you need to go to bars,
you need to be in sports bars, you need to whatever,
(08:53):
and like even stuff that's like, well you need to
like find someone. You need to love yourself first, Like
that's true, but it's it's not prescriptive because some people
do meet their person before they like love themselves, and
then they change because of that person. Like I think
you never know. I think the one thing that's true
is putting yourself out there helps.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
You meet someone.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
I did like my romantic interest on an app because
I put myself out there and went on a date,
and like that's like the one thing that I'm like,
I feel like that's true. And other than that, everyone's
just trying to like define something that's indefinable because it
feels so complicated and it's like so hard to understand
that we can't control when and how someone will like.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Choose to like love us. So we're constantly like, well, it's.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Actually because Hinge is dead and this is that, and
that is that the field is good and whatever. It's like,
I don't know it just like if you want to
meet someone, put yourself out there, if you want to
love yourself, try but you can also meet someone in
the meantime. And I don't know. But that being said,
everyone I met before kind.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Of I mean, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
I want to talk about to hate each other Amanda
and Kyle. I watched the premiere of Summer House. Coincidentally,
I watched it twice, once with by myself and once
with a friend, and like.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
A good neighbor, I got more out of it watching
it the second time. So Amanda and Kyle, we've been
with them for many seasons now. I actually was watching
some old Summerhouse which is so ratchet and so great,
like should I do that?
Speaker 1 (10:43):
I want to?
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes I will. And
Kyle is a forty year old man who has a mullet,
so I'm going to leave that there and do with
that which you will, who always talks about how hard
he works, like you wouldn't think this I invented jobs.
He literally is always talking about how hard he works
(11:05):
on lover Boy, his kombucha alcoholic kombucha. And Amanda is
his wife who hates him like she does not like
this man. I feel bad for both of them in
a way, well not really Kyle, but but I I
don't think. I don't think anyone is necessarily a victim here,
(11:30):
like it sucks for Amanda, but she does not like
this man. And so something happens in the pilot, which
is that he which I think was for the cameras,
is like, Amanda, you don't like welcome me when I
come home from like a business trip like you used to.
And I feel like I want us to be like
a team, like we're like you don't like feel excited
(11:54):
to see me, and we don't spend enough time together.
And she who's you can clearly see almost is calling
him out for doing it on in front of the camera.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
She's like, Kyle, what are you talking about?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Like this is something I used to say to you
that I want to spend more time with you. This
takes place at a fair. We find out later that Kyle,
instead of taking Amanda on rides, takes a huge Rastafarian
banana stuffed banana on the rides instead to film, like
with social media clips with it. The next day, Amanda
(12:29):
does what you like at the I feel like at
the end of every relationship, it's fights in public. Yes,
And Amanda, in front of everyone, is like, yeah, say
again what you said to me last night that we
don't spend enough time together.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Because she's like, I know the jury's on my side.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
She's like, I know the jury's on my sidey, and
I know you're full of shit, and I'm just she
was like, see how many people you talk to today
instead of me, which I thought was really sad, Like,
oh my gosh, he is the kind of person who
will like ignore are you at parties?
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Yeah, well, let me just say that.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
I was like tuning into this episode and they start
as they do with like that dramatic teaser of like
Carl and Lindsay are going to break up like some
some pastors telling Carl like I would if I've married
a lot of people and I wouldn't marry you two
and like all this stuff and then like it's like
Z like rewind and like Carl and Lindsay are going
(13:26):
to the White House.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Two months earlier.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
And I'm also like that is so classic. It's like
that is our political system. Like not to get political,
but that is our political system that Lindsey Hubbard hub
House is at Hubbs is at the White House, like
and because she knows a publicist, Meanwhile, I'm not at
the White House.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
She also is in DC wearing an American flag bra
and spandex shorts, just walking around DC filming herself with
her iPhone. I was like, can you imagine just walking
around in the street, it's wearing that outfit, casually filming
yourself being like on the way to the White House
having a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
I know.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Well, my romantic interest was like came up behind me
while I was watching this on my laptop and he's like, oh,
who are these people? And I go, well, there's this
one there's this one girl that everyone hates. And then
I Lindsey comes on the screen in her American flag
set and I go, it's her and he's like yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
And then I was like and there's like a couple
that hate each other. And the scene that he tuned
into was just so funny to me.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Kyle and Amanda in bed and at the summerhouse and
Kyle says something about like, oh, this like bedroom is
like different, like I don't know, the furniture is different,
and she goes, how.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Much fucking time did you spend it here last year?
Speaker 2 (14:46):
That was crazy, and that was again so indicative of
like you hate when this person breathes.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
I know, because what is she mad about that he
noticed something different in the room because he slept in
the same I'm like, you absolutely hate this man. And
when he he starts to confront her about the thing
you said where he's like, I want to spend time together,
she's like almost laughing.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
It's like funny because.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
There was there was like an era of time where
she wanted him to change. I mean, this man gets
so drunk every night that he talks like a two
year old, like he can barely speak every night on
the show.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
He can barely speak.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
And there was a time where she wanted him to
change and like be better, and she was like crying
a lot about it. And now I feel like she's like, Okay,
I don't want you to change. I just don't give
a fuck about you at all, and I hate your
fucking guts, so just stay away from me. So he's
like trying to talk to her about like improving their relationship,
and she's like laughing at him. But I like, I
thought this was gonna be Carlyn Lindsay, like, you know
(15:44):
Gate the whole season, which it is, but I was
surprised to have yet another relationship drama to die.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yet it's And at the end of the episode, again
he's all for the cameras. Kyle like takes Page aside
and says, you know, oh, Amanda and I are having trouble.
You know, we're not ready. I'm not I'm so stressed
out about the idea of adding kids to the mix. Yeah,
and da da da. And then when Page brings that
(16:14):
to Amanda, Amanda goes Kyle's full of shit, like she
was like, he takes out his work stress on me,
which I completely have been there and it's so stressful
and it's just and then you can see the girl slowly.
(16:35):
Siera and Paige like go to her side. They're like, wow,
that sounds really hard, and and Paige was like, well,
he was talking about how stressed out he was about
like the marriage and you know, adding kids to the
mix and buying a house. And she was like, then
go be single. And it's like, oh, you're there, You're
you're there. Oh she ready.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
I didn't even notice that. Yeah, She's like, okay, great,
bye that by then get your own ride home.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
No, he drives that fucking insane car. Yeah, it's it's
really something. And she's just like so hot. I think
she's like finally looking healthier. Well that's the other thing.
It's like she she seemed to be struggling at the
hands of the relationship much more before, whereas now I
do feel like she's just like totally checked out.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
But she's so hot. And I did notice.
Speaker 3 (17:35):
I think I texted you that she took a classic
relationship as ending soon selfie on Instagram. It was a
picture of her with like her mid driff out, like
she was like wearing a shirt, but it was like
half unbuttoned, but it was clearly a thirst trap, and
the caption was sad girl Autumn or like sad girl like.
(17:56):
It was basically like a sad hot selfie And when
do you post that when you need attention? And why
do you need attention? Because your relationship's ending and you're
on to the next. It's true, she is just like
so hot that I'm like, you can be with literally anyone,
like you don't have to be with Kyle.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Cook of lover Boy.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Although it's sad that her parents made her sign a
contract that like he would pay them back for the
wedding if they break up, and he's going to have
to do that. I mean, her parents hate him. His
parents are weird alcoholics who cheat on each other. It's
really something. And meanwhile, it's really something.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Page and Craig are like high chicken, what are you
eating for breakfast?
Speaker 2 (18:41):
I know they're so cute. Craig literally says, I want
to ask you about you before telling you about me.
That was like he's learning, he's learning. I know we're
jumping around a lot, but we have a lot to
(19:01):
cover and I want to ask you about your experience
with love is blind?
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Okay, So what I have to speak on the most
recent three episodes. Hunter Harris, whose Twitter is amazing and
also who's substack called hung Up I read religiously said
like this was the best episode drop in Love is
Blind history, and it was fucking crazy. And let me
tell you this, this crop of men is the worst selection.
(19:30):
And by the way, I've watched every single season of
Married at First Sight. I wish there was more seasons
of Married at First Site because sometimes I'm sad that
I've seen every single one out of that and out
of Love is Blind. I've never there's not one single
man on the show that I'm like, Wow, that man
is doing his best or is at least a little
bit emotionally intelligent.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I thought that about Ken.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
But basically, in episodes seven through nine, all the couples
go back home. There's an incredible one of my favorite
scenes in reality television history, and we'll post it with
the episode is Clay and Ad are having a meal
and it's like perfectly nice, like good conversation, cute whatever,
(20:14):
and then there's silence and he starts stacking the plates.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
The editing in the scene is amazing.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
He's like stacking plates, moving plates from plate to plate,
like it's like this fucking insane thing. And AD's just
like watching him, like what the hell is going on?
And it's just like silence while he's like playing with silverware,
and then he's like, I'm afraid I'm gonna disappoint you,
and I'm like Jesus Christ, and then basically he just
keeps saying like he thinks he's gonna cheat on her,
(20:40):
like he's like, I really am happy, but I am
afraid that I am gonna have to like disappoint you.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
And it's like what, So that's them.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Meanwhile, he like has a house and is an entrepreneur,
and like something did strike me, so like they leave
the honeymoon and they do like tours of each other's houses,
and something strike me where I was like in my
current situation where I like don't know if I want
to stay renew my lease and I'm like over the city.
If I was on Love is Blind, and the guy
(21:10):
was like kind of annoying and weird, but he was
like I own this house.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
Part of me would be like.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
And I'm and I'm gonna be saying a little yes
at the altar no. But I was like it's also
like so nice that they get to skip the whole
thing of like like it's just like, yeah, let's all right,
we like each other, let's just move in together. Like
that's how I feel at age thirty two. I'm like,
all right, enough of the fucking small talk and like
(21:39):
scheduling we'll meet on Thursday and you sleep at mine.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
I'm like, can we just move into Clay's house together? Okay?
So that then there is.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
So I was said, I was rooting for Ken, and honestly,
I'm so sorry. I forget the girl's name that's with him,
but I was like, they're the ones I'm rooting for.
They're very religious, which I don't relate to obviously, but
they seem to really love each other. They leave the
honeymoon and he got his phone back because that's like
how the show works. Every single scene of him so funny.
(22:14):
It's him on his phone, like literally, as they are
spoiler alert breaking up, he's staring. Immediately starts staring at
his phone and he's like, sorry, I have like a
lot of stuff to get back to and she's like what.
And I have to say, these scenes were triggering for
me from my past relationship where I moved in with
my ex and then like I was like, so, I
(22:34):
was like, I'm so excited we're moving in.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Suddenly he's like not speaking to me.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
I'm like trying to unpack my stuff, and he's like
can you just like slow down with that and like
ignoring me basically, And then when I was like, so,
I feel like something's weird, he was like, oh, I'm
sorry you feel that way, like, and eventually I was like,
I think I have to move out of here, and
he was like, really you feel like you have to
do that. I'm sorry. So Ken was giving that where
(22:57):
his girl is it, Brittany, I don't know, but she's like,
I feel like it's weird. Like I know, we're like
saving ourselves for marriage, and yeah, that is weird, but
that's not the weird part here.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Agreed, that is weird.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
She's like, I but like we don't even make out,
we don't even kiss, like we could have like hot
sexual tension, we don't, and like, I just feel like
you seem really different, like and you are like on
your phone and he's like, well, I that's not been
my experience. Like I do desire you and like you're
the one who doesn't desire me. And she's like, oh,
I'm sorry, and he's like, it's just hard for me
(23:31):
as a man that I feel like you don't desire me. Meanwhile,
you've been on your fucking phone this whole time. You
haven't looked at her once. He's completely gasting her, and
you watch her start to be like, oh my god,
it's my fault because she says, she's like, well, I
do have to admit, like I thought I was going
to feel more of like a desire for you. It's
like the reason she doesn't feel that is because you're
not even making eye contact right And he's like, I
(23:52):
don't feel that way. I'm good, I'm fine, And he's like,
well I don't. Like He's like said something like, don't
make it seem like that's been me this whole time, like,
and he's like, I feel like you're not being introspective.
You're not And I'm like every conversation she's had with you,
she said like, this is how i'm feeling.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
How are you feeling like I want?
Speaker 3 (24:12):
She's extremely introspective And he's like, you're not recognizing that
your part is that you don't desire me, and it
like gets in her head because they just were in
this weird experience where they talked for weeks but without
seeing each other, so like you can see her be like, oh,
maybe I don't desire you, like, and she's like, I
like feels like it's her fault.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Like she's like, well, I think the world of you.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
It's the fucking craziest breakup scene I've ever seen because
he fully gets into her head and makes her feel
like this is all her fault. You can see it
happen and it and then he just like text his
friends like hey, can you pick me up? Like no
feeling whatsoever, and he's like, all right, give me a hug.
Like it's like you're the problem, dude. You don't feel
anything for her and you're acting like that's her fault.
(24:55):
And so that was fucking crazy. I hope to see
more about that, Like I need to know more about
what happened there in the next episode, but we don't
have time for that because meanwhile, also how much time
has passed? Okay, Meanwhile, then you have Chelsea and Jimmy
fucking Taue McGee. Jimmy and Chelsea, who I used to
(25:17):
not support, but now I do. And one thing I
wanted to say, which was interesting is from the first
set of episodes, I forgot to mention this. So when
Jimmy is breaking up with Jess, she tells him, once
you see me in real life, you're gonna like regret this.
And as much as I love Jess and she's like
a single mom and she's like endearing and all this stuff,
that was fucked up because that's not what the experiment's about, right,
(25:40):
and why are you saying that? So apparently there was
this whole drama after In episode seven to nine, they
covered that Jimmy like followed her on social media because
she's private, to see what she looks like, and then
unfollowed her. And then Jess is out with, oh my god,
how do I not know these people's names? I spent
so much time want to. I think it's Laura and
(26:04):
she's like I saw him, And Laura's like, and you
weren't repulsed? Literally, And I'm like that's what I would say.
I'm like, and did you not think, like wow, thank god?
And she's like no, and I don't even care what
he looks like, and it's like, oh my god, that's
how sad the world is, Like there's so few good
men that you're like, this man looks like a literal
(26:24):
toe and can't keep his mouth closed. But I guess
like I am attracted him. And she's like, I would
just close my eyes.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
So that's where we're at, and same whole shebang where
Chelsea Chelsea is so sweet. I am team Chelsea. Now
she's so cute with his friends. She tries to make
an effort he had his best friends are women. Wouldn't
you believe it?
Speaker 1 (26:49):
Oh? Didn't you believe it?
Speaker 2 (26:51):
The biggest red flag. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. That says
I need attention.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Yes, don't be sorry. That's true.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
That says I have wounds from my mother and I
get them filled wherever the fuck I can.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
That's what that says. So that's his deal. And Chelsea
also is like, you haven't really been kissing me.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
You haven't really been And he's like, I his thing
is always I do this more than all the other guys.
I'd say, I love you more than all the other
guys say they love their girls. I kiss you more
than all the other guys. It's like, okay, so are
you four years old, Like, that's not how the world works.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
You can't make arguments like that. So they're them, and
they're all.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
They also like got in a huge fight, but then
the next day they were like, anyway, it's fine, Like
I don't really know what's going on there. Then we
have the most dramatic I was reading details about this
fight late into the night because it's so shocking. So
there's this guy Jeremy He in the Pods like fancied
(27:55):
my least favorite type of man who's like not funny
at all, but fancies himself like the class clown because
all his friends are so dumb that he like actually
thinks he's funnier than them.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
And he.
Speaker 3 (28:09):
So he and the Pods was deciding between Laura and
this girl Sarah Ann, who is on OnlyFans but also
like doesn't believe in abortion, and he chose Laura and
she initially was like, oh, well, sarah Anne DMed Jimmy,
(28:30):
but or sorry, Jeremy. She's like, sarah Anne DMed this
weird thing to Jeremy where she wanted to meet up
with him, but he showed it to me and he
didn't even respond to it. He just liked the message,
So so you're like, Okay, he's handling that the right way.
I mean I would say don't respond at all, or
say something like I appreciate what you said, but like,
I'm in a relationship with Laura now. Meanwhile, what if
(28:51):
her name is not Laura and I'm just like saying
Laura this, Laura that.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Anyway.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
So the end of the latest episode Drop is Laura
sitting across from Jeremy and a fight unfolds in cinematic
fashion where she's like, you didn't get It starts with
her being like you didn't get home till five am,
and he's like, I shared my location.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
With you, and she's like oh so, oh so that's fine.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Then I'm supposed to go to sleep because you shared
your location that you're at a bar at five in
the morning, and then basically it unfolds where he's like, yeah,
I was at Lost in Town.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
She's like bars closed at two am. You weren't at
Lostontown And he's like, I was in the parking lot
of Lost and Found.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
She's like, oh my god.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
She's like, no, you weren't. You were uptown.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
You were forty five minutes away and the only person
who lives uptown is Sarah Ann and she says, so
you're denying. It escalates, it escalates, and finally she's like,
so you're denying anything happened, and he goes, I'm not
denying anything, and she's like, so what happened. He goes,
I don't want to talk about that right now. By
the way, he has sunglasses on for this whole conversation.
(29:55):
So then she's like, he's like, I'm done with this.
I don't want to talk about this right now, and
she goes, I'm done with this too, then and walks out.
So I think there, I mean, then Netflix leaves us
fucking hanging with this and we are supposed to wait
until tomorrow, twenty four hours from now.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
It's like, it's my birthday. I need to know what happens.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
But it was just such an incredible the way that
fight unfolded, where it was like, so you're like, okay,
so we got home at five am. Then she's like,
you were at Lost and Fountain. No, you were in
it closes at two am. She handled it so expertly,
And then when I read this interview with her, she
was saying like she had all these details and they
had had a fight before that where she like confronted
(30:34):
him and he was like, she thought that on camera
he was gonna tell the truth. I don't know if
he told her that, but like she thought he was.
And then he was like, I'm not denying anything, and
she's like, oh, he's gonna say it, and then he
was like, I don't want to talk about this right now.
So then she was like, fuck you, You're not even
gonna admit that you basically cheated.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
On me with Sarah Ann.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
So when that when I get to see that that's
the only thing that can make my life better right now,
plus career success plus a place to live that makes
me happy, plus well having the best birthday ever, having
the best birthday ever, were not a single thing goes wrong.
So that's what I have to say about that beautiful.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
Episode.
Speaker 3 (31:18):
And by the way, like I I want to I
went to see Exploration Live, the podcast, like a live show,
and Natalie rober Lateman was talking about the Housewives and
she's like, every once in a while and something strikes
me and I go, wait, this show is killing these women.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
This show is killing these women.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
And then I'm like whatever, and then watch it anyway,
Like I am watching loves By and I'm like, this
is killing people, Like these people's lives are not in
any way benefited by this, and I can't wait.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
For the next of it out.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
That's literally My sister was saying that she thinks there's
a therapist on staff because they're all using therapy terms
this season.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Interesting. Interesting, interesting.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Yeah, that's like Ken being like, well, you're not being introspective.
It's like you're literally on fucking Candy Crush all night.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
I unfortunately, like I understand the phone obsession, but not
with this in relationships before.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
But you haven't seen this. I've seen you in relationships.
This is nothing. Like you can't even believe how extreme
his phone uses. He is not looking up from his
phone at all.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
It's so funny that he imagined him playing Candy Crush
or like Snake.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
Well he's saying like he's like, well, I got to
do handle my business, and she's like, oh, I guess
you're hustling all the time. It's like, but he's a
middle school principal, Like it's like, how are you hustling
on your phone? Like what are you doing making deals
on your phone? For a middle school and I watched
this TikTok where this woman was like, I know he's
not taking phones away from kids at school, because it's
like what they do, and it's like, you're literally.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
He has to be what is he doing?
Speaker 3 (33:05):
He's doing what I do in public sometimes, which is
I watch TikTok on meute and I hope that they
have captions so I can like read read what's happening
in a TikTok about fucking nothing he's doing that.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Yeah, it's so crazy that he's a middle school principle
and just to have your principle on this show.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
I know.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Well, sometimes when they talk about their jobs, I'm like, right,
so you have a job, Like I'm so confused, And
I guess that's cool, Like, I mean, most of them
have jobs where it makes sense though, Like it's like
I'm an entrepreneur or what's her name, Chelsea's a flight attendant.
Like jobs that make more sense than being in charge
(33:47):
of children's live.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
Children children's lives, Devin, Since you are still basically a
child at thirty two, what are your aspirations for this year?
Speaker 3 (34:00):
God, I don't know, I don't really I don't really
have any right now.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
I just want.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
To continue growing. Oh, you know what, I want to
become more responsible and less of a fucking idiot.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
I want what, I know things.
Speaker 3 (34:18):
I want to know things and not be fucking stupid
all the time. That's so hard, I know, it's like
the hardest aspiration, guys. Not being fucking stupid is the
hardest aspiration. It I hate it.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
I'm really good at knowing less.
Speaker 1 (34:35):
Yes, I'm good at I know.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
I'm really good at making a statement and not being
able to back it up in anything. Like I'm like
men's minds actually biologically don't understand how to talk like
about a person and know the truth. And then I'm like,
I can't back it up with anything. But that's like
biology and men and that species of men.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
So yeah, I am so excited for you. I love
you so much.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
I love you.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
So there is a quote that I love about birthdays,
which is this was the day when the world couldn't
live without you any longer.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Don't even say.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
That, I just got chills. Don't even say that. Don't
don't say that. Shut up, don't say that. That's so cute.
I love you, Devin, love you, Caroled.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
I want your.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Suits so romantic, lovely baby. Don't leave me, haggin I
won't true
