Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Truth Hounds, a production of My Heart Radio.
I'm Anna and I've been unemployed for two years now,
so I really have nothing going on. And I'm Kyle,
and in middle school I received the award Most Enthusiastic
to Learn. So that makes me pretty special and that
(00:22):
is what makes us the perfect investigative duo. We are
two friends who love each other very much, but what
we love even more is getting to the bottom of mysteries,
all mystery, short but small mysteries. Specifically, trust me, No
mystery is too small. No, no, no, Why don't you
trust me when I tell you we are ready to
(00:44):
sniff around. We are the truth Hounds. This week's investigation
was pretty personal to me. Kyle and you might be wondering,
does Kyle sound a little different? Yes, good catch, I
(01:09):
do sound different. That's because I, Kyle have COVID and hey,
it's pretty bad. This week's investigation really hit home for me. Anna,
(01:29):
and you might be wondering, does Anna sound different? Yes,
you have a good ear, my friend. I do sound different.
That's because I Anna also have COVID and hey, it's
also bad. So the plan was Anna and I would
(01:51):
get COVID for you guys, the listeners, and we did
and not just any kind of COVID the bad, because
that's how much we care about you guys, the listeners
and getting to the bottom of stuff. This episode is
going to be a bit different because, as I said,
(02:16):
we have COVID, So there you have it. We Anna
and Kyle got COVID for you guys, the listeners. That's
how much we love you. And keep in mind, Hi, Nanna,
(02:41):
bonus episode. What is COVID? Hi? Hi? Oh my gosh,
my friend, uh my, poor Sticky. I know, I can't
believe we both have COVID. It's crazy. Look, this is
(03:05):
This has been what an investigation. I would say that
it was not worth it. Yeah, I have to say
it was sort of the most brutal investigation that we've
ever done. Um. That has really taken a toll on
me personally. Yes, and me personally as well. I would
(03:27):
say more than more than skydiving because I had to
cancel lots of plans. Um. I felt like boo boo, um.
This is our worst collaboration yet. I really would prefer
to be in Paris with you. This is the worst
(03:49):
thing we've ever worked on, our worst project. I do
think this is my last favorite project of our I
really do believe that between the two of us, we've
got COVID. We got COVID cornered. We have all the symptoms,
we have all of the symptoms, and we have it cornered,
and we're going You're not getting out of this alive.
(04:09):
My throat is not actually very sore, but I've just
been coughing a lot, and I'm very very physically. I
feel very weak, which is very hard for me because
I love to work out and so it's really painful
to not be able to do some squats or um planks. Yeah.
(04:31):
I was gonna say, you're usually my strongest friend. Yeah,
and actually I would say I'm now one of the
week your weakest friends. Oh my god, I can't believe.
I just have to leave you by the side of
the road. I know how weak you are. I have
so much back sweat that um it feels like you
know when you go to the Rainforest Cafe and there's
(04:52):
a wall that's a waterfall. Yeah, that's my back. Oh
my god. Yeah, that's disgusting. Yeah it is. To talk
to someone yesterday and I go, can they tell? Oh
my god, and then I have this crazy brain fog
(05:16):
where I feel, Carl, I can't tell you how stupid
I feel. The dumbest stuff is popping into my head
right now. Remember I texted you about a Backstreet Boys song.
I think honestly, COVID's affecting my memory because I literally
don't remember. I literally have no idea what you're talking about.
(05:41):
This is the perfect opportunity to be like nothing, never mind,
but I'm gonna dig my own grape here and they
do you mean the Backstreet Boys song? The call? Okay,
this is this is good. This is kind of going
back to me. I do feel like you know in
the Notebook when the guy kind of remembers his wife,
(06:04):
that feels it's kind of all going back to Yes,
my wife. That's right, she had girls, Yes, she had girls.
Oh Megan, do you okay? But what don't say it again? Okay,
(06:26):
you remember the call? So the it starts even with
let me tell you about the phone call that changed
my destiny. Yeah, me and my boys went out just
end up in misery. M hm and it and it.
It's the music is so dramatic where it's like dune, dune, Dune,
really like shark tanky. It's like at the common exactly.
(06:50):
So this this woman goes up to him, the titular him. Yeah,
she goes, I've got a little place nearby, do you
want to go? And then the music gets all indignant
and it's like very very shark tanky, and because I
should have said no, someone's waiting for me. But then
it's just a song about how he cheated on his girlfriend. Anyway,
(07:14):
I thought it was so funny because to me, the
song sounds so farcical, like it's so fetched that this
plot would happen, and he's cheating it so seriously and
they're giving it this yeah like shark tank music that's
really like done, done, done. But the song is really stupid.
And so I texted you and this is when I
(07:34):
was at my most kind of at my lowest point. Yeah,
and I go, if they're allowed to do that, Kyle,
you can do whatever we want. Wow. I yeah, I
literally don't remember this text message. Well, you know, they're
not even doing that to be funny. They're doing that
seriously this song. Yeah, I actually think that that that's
(07:57):
actually super wise because it's like we should feel free
to be Yeah, we can be as freaky as we want.
Because they're just getting away with this and calling it
a song. We're actually making comedy, so that already gives
us a lot of That's what I'm saying. Crazy absolutely,
(08:19):
you know, I don't know that it's a great point,
but I feel like it's been from a place with
a lot of heart. I can't tell if it's a
great point, but you know, it makes some sense. This
is what I'm able to when I say COVID brain
feel like, I don't know. I don't know. I think
(08:40):
I think there's something there. Thank you my supportive friends.
Really good. Well, I guess I guess, yeah, I guess that.
The next step in this investigation is I guess we
have to ask these questions. We gave you covid? Um,
who gave me covid? Um? You most definitely you gave
(09:11):
me COVID. Oh wait, did I really give you covid? Yeah?
I think so. I'm pretty sure you gave me COVID. Honestly,
I am pretty sure I gave covid too. Okay, then,
so I'm wondering who gave you covid, and in turn,
who gave us COVID? Yeah? Oh, I know who it
(09:34):
was though, Okay, who was it? It was? Oh? Wow,
yeah she she she did message me. I guess we
could if you want, Yeah, we could reach out to her. Yeah,
(09:55):
maybe we could investigate her. Well, well truthfully, I yeah,
go ahead, No, there you go. I was gonna say truthfully.
I feel like, um, this is the longest I can
sit up. I straight up me to go back to bed.
(10:16):
I honestly, I am so right there with you, because
I would love to investigate this person, but I'm so
tired that Yeah, but I would rather investigate as my pillow,
if you know what I mean. Okay, yeah, no, it's
pretty creative. I was trying to think of my own,
(10:39):
but it was not as good. I said, well, I'm
going to go investigate my cup of tea. That's good.
I like that. We have one thing that we wrote
down that we wanted to talk about, but I feel
like it doesn't make sense. What are you eating? What
(11:00):
is that question? That might be? It would be cool
to talk about what you're eating during COVID because if
we're investigating this for our listeners, you want to cover
kind of all all of the bases so they could
prepare so that they can feel like they had COVID
without actually getting COVID. Honestly, I think the problem is
(11:23):
that I like to eat so much that I've been
eating very a lot of normal foods which I probably
shouldn't eat. What do you rocking? Like I told you
yesterday had some Mexican um wedding cookies. Oh, yes, okay,
(11:44):
yes it's a Mexican wedding cookies. Um. I had like
some um pork buns, which I just don't know if
that's what you should eat when you're out of this world.
I know, it's just not sick food. Today I got
(12:06):
another cookie. She's a damn food. Yeah, when it comes
to COVID, she's a food. What have you been eating?
Literally saltines and soup? See that sounds that sounds better.
It's not. I'm not saying I'm loving it, but I
(12:28):
just can't even. I got nothing right now, I got
no fuel. Yeah. When you told me you ate the
cookie though, yeah, I go oh it really it really
was like the Notebook Creak he goes, oh my god,
or it's like the Giver where he goes, oh my god.
I remember color, you know, you go, oh, I remember cookies.
(12:48):
I remember cookies. Oh my god. So I went into
the coverage and I had some British style chocolate covered biscuits.
Oh you did because you inspired me. Oh my god,
I love that. Why. It's such good stuff. It's such
good stuff. Do you mean cookies. Yeah, but it's such
(13:12):
a stuff that you reminded me because it really was like,
yeah the giver. You gave me the permission to remember
what having a treat was like. Yeah. I gotta say
I was having some crazy thoughts last night of like
I wanted to order cupcakes. Um, you are absolutely bananas.
(13:34):
I know. I just lost an interesting woman I've ever
met amized I I truly, I don't know. I think
it's just I don't know. I need some something. I
don't know. Know. The thing is that you're strong as
an ox and we need to we need to you're
rebuilding your strength right now. I thought you were going
(13:55):
to say, we need to protect you at all costs.
We do need to protect you about coast. We need
to work as a town to protect your strength. We
need you to rebuild you from the ground up, and
that includes a nice base of cookies and upcakes to
build you a soliday. I mean I gotta say again,
(14:19):
I know we already said it, but of all of
our investigations, yeah, you know, I really hate this one
the most. Yeah, this is the shittiest investigation we've ever done. Um.
And I got to say, and it kind of makes
me mad at the listeners because yeah, they're really it,
(14:43):
really putting us through it, and they're not the ones
who had to take off time out of their week. Yeah,
they haven't been impacted and made the sacrifices that we
had to make this week having COVID. I love them. Yeah,
but sometimes because you know someone loves you so much,
(15:04):
you shouldn't be asking them to do certain things. Yeah,
like you know they would do it for you, you
shouldn't ask exactly, I gotta say what you just said. Um,
Like again, I don't feel stupid, but I did not
totally follow what she just said. Yeah, I mean I
(15:25):
told you I'm not I don't have COVID brain, but
I do have some kind of memory loss thing going on. Okay.
You know how we'll say you're in the relationship with someone, yeah,
and they love you so much that they'll do anything
for you. Yeah, Okay, I'm following. So then you're like,
I want to test that you will really do anything
for me, Go kill the guy. Okay, I love you
(15:47):
so much and I would. It's sort of like that
Nicole kidman Ah River No Joakie and Phoenix movie to
die for. Wow, Okay, I don't have long term memory loss,
so I remember it's a short term. She was able
(16:09):
to just pull that one. I was able to sort
of uncover this really old reference. It's just like, sometimes
the power of love is so powerful. Yeah, you shouldn't
test it. Yeah. Yeah. It's like you love someone and
they're like, just go jump off that bridge, and you're like, seriously,
(16:29):
I will because I love that. I'm about to step off,
and this is what you're like, I'm about to step off.
You look back and you go, but seriously, this is
what you need, this is what you want. That's us.
We're standing on the bridge. Yeah, we're looking back at
the listeners. We're going you want us to get COVID. Okay,
(16:51):
but this is this is really what you want because
we love you, so we will do this. We'll take
the jump. But again, but I'm about to step off. Yeah,
you want to live with that. But you want to
live with that and they go, yeah, They're like, yeah,
show me you love me, show you, show me you
(17:12):
love you. If you love you so much, why didn't
you prove it? Jump Jo? That's one of the listeners.
Jump jump Jump Joe. I know which listener you're talking about.
And absolutely we we we love the listeners nearly more
than life itself. So we will get COVID for them.
But maybe we have gotten COVID for them. We current, Yeah,
(17:37):
is there someone you hate so much that you'd go
breathe on them right now that I would try to
give them COVID? Let me try to think. Actually, no,
I mean maybe I am torn because honestly, we got
it so bad that I don't know if I wish
this upon anyone. It's been really bad. Actually, don't wish
(17:58):
this upon an Yeah, I was going to be catty
and I had someone in mind. Then I go, you know,
but can I know who? Um, I'll tell you off air.
You can tell me on air and we can beat it.
You know. I didn't even want to put bad energy
into the air. Okay, do you want me in the chat?
(18:26):
All right? Oh my god. That's how I know I'm
getting a little bit better. Is that I there's little
things that I'm starting to be able to do. And
what was in that example, what was the little thing
that you were a that I was able to kind
of like snarl like a dog. I haven't been able
(18:47):
to do that until today. So there've been to yeah,
four or five days of just being I can't. Yeah.
Days later, she's starling. Five days here, Oh my god,
she's back. I'm back. Okay. Well, I hope you have
a good night's sleep and it's a rest and I
(19:09):
wish you a recovery. I wish you COVID speedy, speedy
recovery from COVID. Okay, I'll see you later. So there
you have it. Kyle and I both got COVID. I'm
(19:33):
anna and folks, it turns out it's true what they
say about COVID. If you get the bad kind, it'll
kick you in the ass. Another investigation closed. If you
like truth Hounds, can you give us five stars on iTunes? Look?
It really helps. Truth Hounds is a production of I
(19:56):
Heart Media. Wait. Who are you? Well, I'm Kyle. Who
are you? Oh? I'm also I'm also Kyle. Mm hmmm.
