Speaker 1 (00:02):
To Teas and a Pod with Teddy Mellencamp and camera judge.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Hi, guys, welcome to another episode of Two Teas and Pod.
Tam is not with me today. So I have a
very special guest. I've got Gertie, who came in from Miami.
Hey girl, Hey, okay, we reunited, honey, reunited. Before we
even get started with the pod, I wanted, I got
a very very up to date d m from the
(00:38):
cruise line from away.
Speaker 3 (00:40):
From the cruising itself. Are you serious? No, from a
sand like celebrity cruises and everything. What happened? Girls, talk
to me.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
I worked for the cruise line. This was on a
sailing with media and VIPs. If Julia simply said, hey,
this is the person and we need to make room
for her, they would have done it. It didn't have
to be that deep.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Are you serious, It's been verified.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
It's been verified.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Mike drop, Mike drop.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Wait, Doria says, clip clip, clip clip?
Speaker 3 (01:15):
I did. Can I have that person come to their
reunion too?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
I know? Well, so I have to say I was
a little bit because of the way that the event
was kind of played out. I was like, I was
kind of like, why is she doing it this set
at this cancer event. I didn't understand. Oh okay, God,
so can you explain that a little bit? And then
we're going to.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
We're going back to just the event itself and why
did it there?
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Or yeah, well just explaining it to me because I
think a lot of us watching this is a cancer Okay,
why is she doing it?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Teddy?
Speaker 1 (01:44):
You know I would never ever use cancer as the
playing field to do this with these girls. Number one,
based on what they did to me or what happened
to me at the wedding chaos. Do you think that
some of these girls would even be at my My
My cancer charity event?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Probably not.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
This was a magazine cover party hosted by the Nott magazine,
and I wish it would assume that that's an edited
shot wider so you could see the heavily branded the
not magazine them Teddy. When I tell you you look
on the floor though not the napkins then not. They
wanted to make sure they thought.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
They were Heather, Yes, honeywing it.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
It was everywhere.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
When you look at the screen, it's so zoomed into
the pink, pink, pink, And it was very interesting, is
what I'm saying. Secondly, it was me giving a speech
because the magazine issue was speaking about celebrating the pursuit
of life, of happiness and the whole thing. So my
speech reflected my own testimony, which we'll have to see
word in it.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Cancer cancer, cancer cancer. That's part one.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Part two is that I had two of thirty people there,
thirty of my closest friends. There was no patrons donating
to attend the event, strangers out there. No thirty of
my rather dies live in Miami, two of them.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
So all the guests were yours, like true guests. It
wasn't like it wasn't like the cancer evant. We saw
each other at No.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
I was kidding and I'm like, what if I would
never ever?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
And that's the spin, And this is how dangerous it
could be when it's like, oh, she did it at
the cancer event.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Very dangerous girls are doing that.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Of course they are, and I will see them at
the reunion because that is disgusting and that is my
name on the line.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
So we're gonna have to discuss that.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Nevertheless, remember they can't read, okay, so you know, we
got to work on that. Secondly, out of the thirty guests,
two of my really good friends were our survivors too too,
and of course they're gonna come to the event. One
of them has a charity called Survive Her. Okay, at
the event, I'm part of a group called Support your Girlfriends,
where we actually support your girlfriends, and we had money.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
We have ten thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
And then the head of the organization, she goes, let's
do a presentation of the check to survive her. So
no one survivor paid. This was not an organization for survivor.
Survivor is one person that came to the event, and
she's my friend. We said, let's do a check presentation
for survivor and that was it. The way that it
looked was here's a charity. Oh yeah, oh look at
(04:13):
you cancer survivors.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
It was unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
And last and last and not least, Martina was not
even invited to my party. You see me invite the
girls at the LGBTQ event, which she was missing too.
Write she was not there. I don't know why, but
she was not there at that supporting. I had the caution,
so she was not there supporting the cause. And she
inserted herself to say, well, thank god, I wasn't there,
because you know, how could she do that to the
(04:38):
survivors who me and my two friends out of the
thirty people girl.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
By so the spin is real.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
And at the reunion, let's gonna say one thing, how
could she do that to all the mothers?
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Right? Well they I mean, like, I go, how could
any like? And that's why I wanted to give you
the like, that's what I wanted to talk to you
about it, because yeah, people make mistakes or people because
the way they made it look on the boat when
you were talking about it was you were like, no,
I stand by exactly what I did, but I didn't
give this back information. Yes, So then I was like, well,
(05:11):
I'm still annoyed at Gertie.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
And and by the way, even in the context of
what it was, yes, because my testimony was really heart
wrenching and it was really sweet, and I would and
my event, I'm a party planner. For me, there's always
a party and then there's always an after party. So
my event had a program and then after the program
there's the dancing part. So I did what I did
right before, introducing the band for the dancing part. So
(05:33):
the first part part of my event was already whole, and.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
My business part was yes, and I.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Didn't even plan to do it Whenever that time, when
I went back and finished the programming and Russell was leaving,
and he's telling me what she was saying, still playing victim,
still bringing it up. When I told her, bitch, this
is between you and me and you my party.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
And she even said this is between she wanted that testing.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
But she's talking to my husband, bringing down the mood
of my party, bringing the.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Topic he carrying sneakers, dirty one.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
I just when i'm nice until i'm not teddy, And
I'm telling you my kindness in this group has been
taken for weakness, clearly me getting on this day.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Can we read this? Can we read this? A little
bit about this cruise? Okay, okay, you be you and
I'll be Julia.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Okay, we're doing role player. Okay, okay, who's first?
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Me?
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Hi, baby, You're good.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
They don't have me at the dinner reservation where they
swung me out, So I'm trying to figure things out.
Not sure why they said because this is her not
after a lot of minutes. Not sure why they separated
us since I came only for you anyway, I'll figure
it out.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Oh, just getting back to my room. It's Blank's party
and I had no control over the list. I guess
changes were made when Blank canceled. I'm sorry. Are you
all taken care of question mark?
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Blank is Martina and this is Sendy's party, all right?
To be honest, I'm a little taken aback that I
was moved to the site for this exclusive. If I'm
supposed to come in as your replacement, as Martinez replacement,
I should have been extended the invitation as a courtesy,
especially when I'm leaving my kids and husband at home
as your guest. I'm sure you had no control over it,
and I'm also sure that Blank, Alexis Blino's publicist wanted
(07:15):
to make this experience exclusive just for you since I'm
not his client. But nevertheless, this is a little rude
considering I was just trying to be supportive as a
friend to you. I was not even on the reservation
for the restaurant that you guys put me at. They're
squeezing me in and I'll be okay, but know that
I will never let anyone do that to my friends
who show.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Up for me.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Okay, so I would now hearing this her, let's do
her response first. Her response is, I don't coordinate dinner reservations.
All I'm thinking about this weekend is Blank's condition condition.
I thought you wanted to be here and would have
enjoyed being here. Otherwise I would have never suggested you
join me and leave your kids with Russell. I'm sorry
you're upset. This is a work weekend and it wasn't
(07:54):
done on purpose or to offend your clarification.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
The letter that all of us on the cast received
because of you know, if half of us when half
of us didn't the work translation content for cruising paper barter,
it's a bartered not not paid anything in exchange. You
don't want amazing two bedroom suite, You go coasting and
then just post content.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Girl. So now we're turning.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
It in and now content would have been better if
you were in it. I love you, know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Maybe that's why, Maybe that's why I wasn't invite That
was that, Maybe that was.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
That's why she didn't want to take the attention.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Maybe that's why I was invited to the cruise for
the content part and then the VIP part.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
No gurdy, no access.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
I mean, I think that you're proving that Julia wanted
you there, but she wanted you to beg to be there.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Well, no, she wanted me as a seat filler. So
it's kind of like, oh, you're fun here, let's do
the spot thing. But then now I need to go
to VIP but I'll see you later at the bar.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Okay, So I have a so why we're on her,
we may as well just keep on her.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
Do you think that Julia is trying to ic you
out or some of the women are trying to ic
you out? Or do you think she's just obsessed with
being with the cool The cool girl are cool.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Girls and they're gonna be cool Girlsdriana is a freaking riot.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
Oh my god, she was a one.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
I think it's multifaceted, and I think we'll get to
the bottom of that at the reunion. But I think
Julia gets fixated on new, shiny objects, and I think
that it's a repeat offense that she keeps doing, you know,
like she's friends with you and then she finds something
else and then she goes there. This is a nine
time engage woman. So that's gonna tell you a lot
about the pattern.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah, I mean that makes sense. Yeah, but I think
do you think that Julia's relationship with Adriana is now
flawed forever?
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I mean, it doesn't nonexistent right now, and so you'll
have to keep watching to see how it becomes this extinct.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Talking about this season, what is your opinion on Stephanie.
Speaker 3 (09:47):
Oh my god, I love Stephanie.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Stephanie came hard, strong, to the point no bullshit. Now
initially you're kind of like taking it back because it's
about some money, harsh around the edges, right, You're kind
of like, wait, whoa come down Burke, you know what
you know? And I, by the way, didn't even meet
her till a little bit later on.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I think I can't remember. So she's coming in.
Speaker 1 (10:10):
And she sees my party and she sees what is happening,
and these girls are like cancer survivor charity party, fundraiser,
and she's kind of like, oh my god, this is horrible.
And that's how I meet Stephanie with their spin on bus.
So then of course she meets me and she's like, Okay,
this is not what they said. You were like, okay
the spin and then uh, there's things that happen when
we go to Sevilla in Spain where she starts to
(10:32):
see some people for not what they pretend to be
before what they really are.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
And trust me, it gets quite spicy in Spain.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Yeah. Well, I'm excited for that. What are your thoughts
on when you're when you guys were all on the
yacht and you were separated. I don't want I personally
don't like that.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
I liked it actually, to be honest, because I gotta break.
I gotta break.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
It's a lot, it's a lot of personalities, you know.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
So, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
And I was and I was out of town.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
I was going to speak engagement on for the Lynn
Sage Foundation in on Chicago.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
So that's the cancer, you know. Yeah, So I came back.
I was like walking in, honey, anybody gonna phase me?
And what you got? Who's got a question?
Speaker 2 (11:11):
How badly do you want doctor nicullback?
Speaker 1 (11:14):
I what was good for her? And I'm not too sure.
I'm not too sure if that's her coming back. So
you know her saying TBD, it's like she's got conditions,
is what I'll say.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Yeah, she played it. I liked your scene because you
could tell you were real girlfriends catching up and like
sometimes it's a little bit like, oh, you know, you're
gonna gossip all over the place. And then you called
Stephanie and I thought they both handled it well, of.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Course, but why not.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
See if you're a woman that's not that's not insecure,
that has your crap together, and that really is supporting
other women, why not you dated the same man twenty
years apart? Why not you have so much in common?
And I was like, you know what, you need to
meet Stephanie and that's how I roll.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
And they did it well and it made me like
them both. The only thing I'm not loving about Stephanie
is the money stuff. It's too much.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
It's a tense it's intense, and actually, when you see
one of the upcoming episodes in Sevilla, you'll see like
how amazingly extreme, Like if you can get it, if
you have it like that, then.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
That's good for you.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
There's a big surprise for her and it's and it's like, what,
it's Unbelievable's unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
And how long have those two been together?
Speaker 1 (12:20):
Her was sup for a long time, I believe a
long time, over maybe ten years.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
I think because we were trying to figure out because
we just saw the house on the recent episodes and
they said they needed to wait until the divorce was
final on the blah blah blah. There's been all these
rumblings and so I'm really trying to dissect it because
you know, I have so much time on my hands.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
We do. We all do at some point in time
the day.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Oh my gosh, in regards to you and Julia's tension,
do you think that there's room for resolution?
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Oh? Good times are coming because you know.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Something, so we're gonna see cease.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Yeah, something happens next episode that shifts my thinking. And
if you see me walking into every single group event,
I always walk in with a smile. When Julia walks into,
for example, my event, it's like Debbie down or like
I'm here to ruin the event and I'm gonna talk
to your husband and tell him. Were still are trying
(13:26):
to figure it out, Like it's like, what are you doing?
So you see the opposite vibes. I'm on a high
vibration and I don't know what vibration she's on. Nobody
knows what level she's on. But the fact is is
that I try and put my best foot forward, and
finally it gets to a.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Point where we're like, okay, we're neutral and let's see
what you know.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
She she's yeah, yeah, I mean look at those ravies.
You know.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
It's it's hard to watch these scenes back.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
It's to watch this this this show back because you know,
I think we were good for a while and then
something happens and then it's like, okay, this is again,
we're going backwards, you know. So the reunion is going
to be on and popping because did you see last
night whatever that was? Did you see that last night?
Watch what happens?
Speaker 3 (14:17):
I heard?
Speaker 2 (14:18):
I did. I wanted to talk to you about.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
The well, I still I'm flabbergasted at how she's apologizing
only for the water throwing assault and not the lies.
That's what's blowing my mind. And so that tells me
(14:40):
that this person has not learned a single thing, is
not really apologetic, and it's because of the backlash that
she's doing this about the water splashing in my face
that she threw only.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
And you can't see water splashing. Water splashing is like
if you're on a boat and all of a sudden,
water splashes.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yes, Isaac Mizrahi, if you're listening, I am di disgusted, disgusted, unacceptable,
and this is not for entertainment. Okay, I was degraded
on national television, humiliated and how dare you?
Speaker 2 (15:12):
And she sat there and just.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Grinned, because if I was really sorry, I was gonna say,
you know what, I'm so sorry.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
This is not right.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I've really mean I'm sorry, and I don't need you
to hype me up on this disgusting.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
There was absolutely no reason it needed to get to
that point. And if she did do it, and it
was a reflex, like she's trying to claim, why not
say I'm really sorry?
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Is a third physical offender? Okay, let's go back to Bahamas.
She tried to pour an entire eyes bucket on Marisol
and we helped make that not happen. And there's another
situation that was not aired, Okay, that was actually interesting
as well. So we will discuss this at the reunion
because the sweet voice is gonna only take you so far,
(15:59):
and when you have repeat offenses, we're going to have
to talk about it.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Yeah, I think you know. When she was on Watch
It Happen's Life, she says it hasn't been it.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
I don't want to hear it. I don't want to
hear I don't want to hear any of that.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
I don't want to hear it. Well, it's pretty much
it's you know, you don't have to hear it. Everybody
heard it. But I feel like it's her way of
just once again trying like, I don't think that apology
was for you.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
It wasn't.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
I think it was for the people.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Nasty, absolutely, of course. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Has she reached out or anything, of course not, of
course not.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
No.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
The last thing that I've heard her say is Gertie
used to stay as far away as possible. That was
the last thing I've heard, and then this apology months later,
So please spare me.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
And do you think the girls are a little too
hard on Adriana or do you think that she brings
it all on herself.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
With Adriana?
Speaker 1 (16:55):
I mean this tick for tat with them, and they
have a long history, so you know, I mean, and
you see that they're like playing, but then they're they're smiling,
and then they're hugging. So it's a lot of back history.
That's why we hardly get involved and would let them play.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Would you've been upset about the Sagginese comment? No, I
mean I kind of would have laughed at it.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
I have, but you know, you do, I do.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
That's why that's why I have my jeans.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
But you know who they don't keep accountable, you know,
is Julia for example? What what what should have happened
after that number one? She should have been escorted outside
the wedding.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
No, she stayed. She got consoled by Larsa, and she
stayed there and cut the cake.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Like nothing happened, like nothing. And I you know, do
you know what it took for me to stay there?
I said to myself, No, I worked.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
How did you do that?
Speaker 3 (17:38):
You know, I don't know how I did it.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
I just said to myself, I'm gonna stay there to
see what they do after I leave, so I can
witness what they do. And when I saw that, it
was kind of like, okay, oh you gotta don't worry,
just stop stopping, okay, cutting the cake. I saw her
give flowers to Marisol, Marisol hugging her, laughing, turned around
and cut the cake. So this is why this is
(18:00):
really not just for play and for entertainment. This is
really interesting and it's on my back.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
This was at my expense.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
It was done to me, and I think as viewers,
it's hard for us, Like, while we're watching it, we're
looking at it as two separate instances when it's all
the same thing wrapped into one, and no, wonder you're
so hurt. Not only did she not fight for Like,
if I invited a friend somewhere with me, it doesn't
matter if it's a paid post or what it is,
(18:31):
I'd be like, hey, no, this is who I came.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
With as a replacement to your wife, and that you
got me on the cruise because of your wife, that
you're getting gleamed for to get on the cruise to
leave your wife. But then you say you're thinking about
your wife well on the cruise for content, And then
you say I'm thirsty and I'm the opportunities and I'm
psycho scary. Everything that she said to me, I'm looking
at her and I'm like, you really need a mirror
(18:54):
because the lies are so extreme, and it is about
it's not even about the cruise, Teddy, It's about.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
The the from the lack of respect in your friendship.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
No, the cruise was used as a tool to paint
me as something that she wanted them to see me out.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
She wanted you to be high maintenance, over the top.
It's too much. I couldn't deal. But this is the
person you chose to invite, so then take care of her.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Why did she call it Riana her best friend?
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Yeah, that's what I don't understand.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
I even asked her. You'll see what she responded. I'll
talk to you about the reunion. Why didn't you call
it Guiana? First?
Speaker 1 (19:32):
If I'm not your friend and you don't know me
like that, and all of a sudden, I'm a piece
of shit.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
But knowing like that. And also if for some reason,
somebody on that cruise line, which we already confirmed it
isn't the case, but.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Need I need that tea? Yeah, I'll give that to you.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
But if somebody on that cruise line said, you know,
we don't want Gerty there she wasn't, then that's for
Julia should at least have the balls to come to
you and say, hey, I'm sorry, I tried. They're telling
me no, So where do you want to go now?
Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (20:02):
And at the end of the day, like, let's go
together at.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
The end of the day.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
And again, let me remind everybody the cruise happened in
twenty twenty three. Yeah, okay, And at the end of
the day, Julia decided to bring it up now because
Julia has such, I guess an ego that she didn't
like the way I had something to say about it.
She didn't want to be called out, and so it
(20:26):
was kind of like, how dare you talk to me now?
Is you were my cruise? You were in my bed,
that's the spin on that. And I'm like, wait, you
literally called me. Russell's mom was like, is Martinez we
thought we thought the way that she sounded on the
phone that it was back.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
That's how bad he was. Why would I get back
on the cruise. I'm like, oh, she'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
She didn't even want to tell me why. She said, please,
I'll tell you on the cruise. I can't talk now.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
I'm getting she didn't want you to talk her out
of going. She was inappropriate.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
She didn't want she didn't want me to say no.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
She wanted to sound like there was something to hear
that was so here that to get me to get
on the cruise.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
It's a manipulation.
Speaker 1 (21:03):
And so I leave my house, I get on this cruise.
I'm there for you. And then I'm like, shu, sure
you know if there we get a reservation for you,
we'll be We'll see you at the Martin barlater, okay,
see yeah. And then I'm like alone, no reservation, I'm
by myself. Jen Fester was on the ship. Eventually she
comes to me later on, but she has her own thing.
She wasn't supposed to be babysitting me. I'm here alone
for you, and you can't pull a chair, and I'm like,
(21:25):
what can I sit on the chair that was meant
for Martina?
Speaker 3 (21:27):
It didn't make sense to my friend.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Felt I just and she would have.
Speaker 1 (21:31):
Never done it. She would have never done it to Larsa.
She would have never done it to Alexia. Those are
facts she would have never Alexi would have parasceled her
ass out of that. For them to not have even said, Julia,
they didn't want to hear the story.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
They didn't want to hear the story.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
So that's the thing. I never heard the story. I
didn't feel like I got the full story, so I
wasn't able to take it in and really understand. But
now that I hear that, if I think, if me
and Taram are going to do something and I was
with you, and I asked her to go with me.
I would never in one million years, ditcher.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Who raised you? If you do that? Like who raised you?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Yeah? And if it was, If it was I get
paid this extra amount to attend this portion of the event,
I would have said to her, do you want to go?
It's really a paid thing for me, like you don't
have to.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
Well, the itinerary that they sent to me, because I'm
very organized, you know, have a powerty planner. Before I packed,
I said, well, send me the itinerary so I can
see what to pack. And that VIP dinner was not
on my itinerary, but it sure wasn't hers. So you
understand there's lots of details that you're not going to
be able to walk back.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Honey, Okay, did she ask anyone else before you? Do
you think I asked?
Speaker 1 (22:40):
I asked her to ask somebody else, Adriana. I said,
why don't you ask Adriana? I asked her. Yes, there's
lots of layers to this, and I don't I don't
want to even get into the semantics of it, because
at this point it's about the theme of the fact
that it's shitty behavior, you.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
Know, but fans overall are unhappy with the way you've
been treated this season.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
I didn't even ask Teddy when I tell you, you
know what, I just finished recovery.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
I have two surgeries, you know, construct reconstructing surgeries.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
I was coming into this season like, oh, I'm getting
my groove and we're gonna have so much fun. I
don't have to worry about this sea thing anymore. I'm
doing my thing. I walk into this mess the biggest disappointment.
I was like, I cannot believe I'm in this mess.
I'm getting water thrown in my face, and I'm thinking
I'm gonna have my girls backing me up, and like
just being like Gertie, we got you, where do you
(23:29):
want to go and celebrate you? And I got the
complete opposite for no reason. So I'm like, wow, like
this this was really hurtful.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Do you think it's because they were all being selfish
or do you think that it was intentional to hurt you.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
I think it's a little bit of everything. I think
it's a little bit of everything. And I'm sorry that
I got attention last year for you know, having cancer.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
It's not always the best attention, Like it's really hard,
So how how are you feeling? Like watching you and
watching your story has given me a lot of like
(24:13):
even when you were talking about physically feeling different, I
was like, oh my gosh, I don't feel alone anymore,
because I was wondering, like it sounds so silly, but
I was like, oh, I can't get botox, and well
because I well no, because I still haven't. Oh so
they were like, you got to wait a little bit.
Oh and because it can, like I guess, get into
(24:36):
your system a lot more like botox, Fieller and all
that kind of stuff. But I remember a moment of
being like feeling so like insecure, like well, I can
see my eyebrows lifting, I can see this, And so
when you were talking about that, I really felt it.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
It's just a lot, and I, like, Russell can only
take so much and I feel like I only have
like a couple of people that can really go deep
into those layers in and I don't want to the
people with this crap. So you're on a show to
share your life, and you have other people who are
on this show to share their lives. You think you
can intermingle all those things, and I do talk with
someone and when I realized that they're not even listening
(25:13):
to the basics of like how's how's it going? And
I start talking and then I get interrupted, Like it's
just you'll see what got me to the point of
like I'm like, I'm just gonna do it right now,
Like I was just over I was up to here.
I'm like, they don't listen, they don't want to listen,
they don't care. Just all the feelings of like feeling
so like low and I'm like, I'm like, they don't
(25:34):
care about me, so so if the system is rigged,
blowing blow this spot. That was That was why I
was like, I'm doing it now. When they go low,
you go high. Well sometimes when they.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Go lower, you go lower.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I'm the one who literally is go Bama, Yeah, Hi,
go hi Laura. Time this time, I'm not going to
the pizza hill.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
Shit. Oh you're not my best moment, but you know
what it happens.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Yeah, how are you? How are you overall feeling? Like
just remind just some of our listeners what kind of
treatments you ended up having to go through and how
long you've.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Been so there is a thing called cancer brain because
I looked at the confessional that I did and I said,
I have five chemo surgery, five chemo treatment.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
I only have four. And I'm like, what did I say? Five?
Four chemo brain?
Speaker 2 (26:19):
I have it too, but I don't have chemo, so
maybe it's yeah, it's a cancer a little Did you
have a little shakes?
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Did you have a little I had a little bit
of everything. We shake, drop and roll. Okay, it was
a little bit of everything.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
But what was the question? Yeah, I came. So I
had four chemo treatments, twenty radiations. Now now it's.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Actually up to nine surgeries because I had to do,
you know, the whole thing. So yeah, I and then
I take a nastrosol, which is I'm an estrogen receptor,
and so I'm taking that from five to ten years,
depending on how my body does. I have hot flashes
because it's severe hot flashes the pill I take. Plus
(27:01):
I had to get medical, you know, hysterectomy pulled, so
hysterectomy and so those two are screwing up my body
and my body is still trying to figure out what
happened because I'm not supposed to be in menopause right now,
So I take.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
A pill to try to counter that.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
So I'm like Cinderella, I have seven hours to be
okay in the streets.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Yeah, we girl.
Speaker 1 (27:21):
Sometimes I cut that pill in half, which I know, doctor,
don't don't kill me.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
I do cut it didn't happen. I'm supposed to.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
I know, we're going to take this on half because
we have a brunch, and we're gonna take it on
half because we have a dinner.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
So yeah, you just kind of as a.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
New medications alone. Yeah, even like everything that I take
is a non narcotic, but I swear they make me
feel a certain way. Yeah, And I don't know that.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Yeah, they don't make me feel a certain way. Well,
and that's result does because it flushes me. So I
do get like the jitters a little bit more because
of it.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:52):
And I was already hyper. So now I'm on ten
all the time. I feel like, you know, but there's
nothing I can do about it. When am I supposed
to do?
Speaker 2 (27:57):
Yeah, And so you're feeling good, but you're feeling a
little hyper. But are you How often do you have
to go in to get rechecked.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Every six months? Every six months. I just booked my
next mamogram. Yeah, so every six months I get checked.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
What tip would you tell another woman right now who's
concerned that something might be going on with them?
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Oh, you see something, say something? Absolutely no reason. What's
the reason to wait? Because you're losing a day in
your life. You should be gaining one by by getting checked,
to be proactive, preactive, you know. So I think that
people should definitely, uh, you know, get a move on
it if you haven't gotten checked, because you're scared. Just
it's better to find out now than you're finding out
(28:35):
on stage four. You don't want that heat, Okay, you
don't want.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
You don't want it. And because it's different, I have
different we have different cancer. She doesn't have cancer. Oh god.
But the fact that what age should people be going
and getting their MAMMOGRAMD.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
I tricked the system, I think. So I was getting
a boot job.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
I was getting a boot job after my son, Liam,
second son, and then they found a lot of calcification
and density, and then the doctors are well before I
do the boop job, I need to make sure you're
not you don't have anything in you. So I was
like thirty a Liam at thirty thirty. What is your
thirty five? Yeah, yeah, Liam a thirty five. So I
(29:19):
had my my thing like around thirty seven, I think.
So I had my mamogram before forty, right, and then
I had to keep going because of the fact that
I was already in the system. So every year I
started going. So try to pretend you're going to get
a boob job and then.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Hopefully and then they'll give it to you a little early.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Never know if you got a lot of density in
your breast. So I got them earlier, so thank god.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Yeah, my gosh, is there any other little tidbits you
want to share with us or open up to that
you think our listeners would get in.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
From listen when here's the thing about it, Like, you know,
I wanted my main goal being an advocate for cancer
in general, but also to break the stigma of people
hiding or not wanting to talk about the sea word,
the cancer word. We need to start normalizing it because
one in eight women is going to have cancer, breast cancer,
and one in three any type of other cancer. So
(30:07):
someone you know you will be affected in some way,
shape or form. And if we learn anything about last season, okay,
you want to be at least empathetic to someone who
says they have cancer.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
You should know the.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
Basic commendments, you know, you know, keep it calm, keep
it to yourself, you know, be a little bit more
open minded.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
Don't be so you know, like try to pretend you're
not a doctor because you're not.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
Don't question, don't question if the person has it or not,
and make it a gossip thing. There's a lot of
things that we can do. So you don't have you
don't have a book.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Right, hold on what congratulations?
Speaker 1 (30:48):
So the book I wrote actually, you know, two years,
which is recently. I wrote it after having cancer because
I wanted to wait to see how I felt about everything.
And then I had a layer ish of trauma in
the past, including the cancer, which was traumatic. So my
book is from trauma to trophies and the unforeseen events
that redefined me.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Oh, I need to read.
Speaker 1 (31:11):
This is not a cancer book, but the cancer is
in there on how it changed me from the gurdy
before to Gurdy two point zero.
Speaker 3 (31:19):
And so now I'm like, this is for pre order,
for pre order, it's for pre order, and it's.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Going to be out by November and hopefully by Bravo, Khan,
Can I please have one?
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Soon?
Speaker 3 (31:30):
I will hook you up with a freaking copy, because I.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Think there are so many things that people don't know
and don't understand, and especially even about the way to
talk to people when they have Like I always tell
all of my friends. I don't know if maybe this
is just me, but I'm like, please stop asking me questions.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
You know, I went to the room. Guess what I
asked her.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
I said, how is she feeling? Does she want to
talk about anything around the S word?
Speaker 3 (31:53):
Yes? No, okay, And I'm like, Hi, Teddy, how you doing? Girl?
You open up the conversation.
Speaker 2 (31:57):
Yeah, no, I don't mind. I don't mind that. But
you know when somebody will text you and they'll be like, hey, babe,
miss you, how are you feeling? What's going on? What
is all day?
Speaker 3 (32:07):
You just got out of the doctor's office.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Who I'm like, I can barely see, thank you too.
My eyesight too, I can barely see.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Man.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
I'm going to need the audio book when I'm doing
the audio book as well.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
And this book is the beginning of the chapter of
me talking to people about the different facets and the
next book I'm going to write is about the care vivers.
So Russell's going to get in on that. Now, what
your man is doing, how is he feeling, what is
he taking care of? How is he affected by it?
That is like that blind spot that we feel like
it's all about us to wut. Your sex life going
now is much better. I'm taking a pill, Honey, I
(32:42):
took a pill. I'll tell you about that later.
Speaker 2 (32:44):
Need to hear that just in case.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Yes, but like you.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Know, he's dry down there, Okay, I guess, but like
Russell with my eyes, I'm all like excited, right, so
I'm wet up here and then I'm like dright out there.
So I'm like, hey, you're focus, get it together, clarify.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Yes, I'm ready.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
So yeah, there's a lot of things that it's like,
you know, happening. And doctor Jackie from Married to Medicine. Oh,
you know, I'm gonna tease exclusive she makes a cameo.
Oh she does miss a cameo. I got to call
my backup, honey. I'm like listen, yeah, so you're gonna
see a little bit of her. And she's a two
time cancer survivor and so she has a whole sex
(33:26):
tools and all that stuff that she sent my way,
so you know.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
She could tell her to send it my way.
Speaker 3 (33:30):
Yeah, you know what, Good for you and your boyfriend's.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
I know he's an ex borfriend, but good for you
and your future boyfriend or whoever, honey, girlfriend, boyfriend, whatever
you want to do. You have one wife, and who
are we to judge people and what they be doing?
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Who?
Speaker 2 (33:45):
I'm sorry, did you watch the show Dying for Sex?
Speaker 3 (33:48):
No? What is that?
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Oh? My gosh, it's about Michelle Williams and she has
Michelle Williams is in it and she had cancer okay,
and it's terminal. Yeah, and it's like all the things
she does in her last day, like and just watching
that made and granted this is far from where I am,
but I think we have to get to a place
(34:09):
where we're talking about it.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Break the stigma.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
Let's break the stigma. It's like the way nobody used
to talk about ever having a miscarriage, and now we
can say it. And there's eight other.
Speaker 3 (34:19):
Abortions, like, you know, there's so many past.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Yeah, we've gotta be starting a podcast, me and Teddie
introducing you to you know what.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
We we have a come trauma and trophy.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Oh well, thanks for joining us and you guys can
find Gerty online on Instagram at Girdy Design Girty Design.
Thanks for coming on and joining
Speaker 3 (34:40):
Us, Love you guys,
