Speaker 1 (00:02):
Two Teas in a Pod which Teddy Mellencamp and Tamra Judge. Hi,
it's Teddy Mellencamp and Tamra Judge. Welcome back to to
Teas in a Pod live from Bravocon in Las Vegas.
It's such a fun, busy weekend and we want to
make sure you get as many episodes as possible, so
we have a special guest co host for you. Alexis

(00:25):
Bollina is here. Take it away, Alexis. Alex Baskin just
admitted he doesn't like the tables turned on. IM like,
you have a new idea? What's up? Nicely? Right now?
All right? We are here. Oh my gosh, I feel
like I have the President of the United States in
front of me, but now I have Alex Baskin.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Yeah, everybody, say hi, It's good to see you.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
This is good to see you too.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
This. I was very happy to sit down with you.
But now I'm kind of having second thoughts.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Idea, Well, you can run, but there's like six people
blocking the door, so you can try.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, I'm right, I guess I'm stuck here. We are,
You're stuck.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Okay, So first of all, my first question is you're
super busy, So thank you for taking time out to
sit down with me for a few minutes. But what
is it like when you come to a Bravo con
and you have hundreds of your people like that work
for you here, Like, what is it like to run

(01:28):
into each of them?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Well and Jule, yeah, I mean it's chaos. First of all,
I'm really proud of the shows and obviously takes an
army to make them, and you know, you really get
a sense of how much the shows mean to the
audience when you're in a setting like this, So all
of that is very cool, but you're pulled from one
place to another, and that's why it was really glad
that you asked me to come here, because getting out

(01:52):
of the carnival feels really good too.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
You did say that, guys when he walked in. I'll
give you a little behind the scenes. When he walked in,
we were all like, oh my gosh, we can't believe
you're and you can have time for us. And Alex's
response was it feels good. I'm happy to get away,
so breath. Even though he's about to get grilled, he's happy. Okay,
So who who is it they? Do you like? Do
you have any strife with anyone right now? That when

(02:15):
when you're here with any of the Bravo lebs.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
I only have conflict of the people who aren't here,
so there's a few of those.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
But can you give us the dish?

Speaker 2 (02:24):
But no, I mean I would just say I'm fine
with everyone here. Yeah, and so it's mostly just nice
to run into people, but yeah, it's also nice not
to see a few people too. Right.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Okay, he's tried, guys, I'm just letting you know he's
trying to dance around that question.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
So we'll move on to the next.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
He's he's giving the very political answer. It's okay, we
like that. We honey, we have to do that here too.
Have to be diplomatic or diplomatic that's the word. Yes,
that's Alexism. See diplomatic is what I meant. Okay, So
let's let me ask a little bit about this season
since I am an Orange County housewife x housewife, but

(03:01):
this season was very juicy. So my number one question, well,
I just wanted to kind of get your pick your
brain on this. But I dove in a lot to
research on light detector tests, so I just want to
know like, what is your feeling about how authentic or
real that light detector test that you put on all
of those women really was.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Well, I mean it was authentic in the sense that
it was a real company and they gave the test. Obviously,
it's not admissible in court, and so I think that
everybody should take it as seriously as they should. It
was Emily's idea to do the light detector test in
the first place, and then behind the scenes of it
is we needed to find a light detector test company
that actually would do the show. So I think that

(03:45):
it's been pointed out by a lot of the audience
that you've seen that company in other shows, and you know,
again clearly they're willing to show up on camera, but
more than anything, it's just fun for the show. And
again it was Emily's idea, and it's sort of carried
forward with the story of this season.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I love everything you just said, because you know, when
I was on Marriage boot Camp, we had a light
detector test company also, and I think it was you.
Somebody said it's the there's only a few, like Andy
Cohen said, there's only a few companies that will actually
do that on a national television show. So ours was
not the same the Marriage boot Camp was not the
same company. I had to google out because then I

(04:25):
went back to Marriage boot Camp twenty eighteen. Is it
the same company that did at yours? It is not,
by the way, But it is important for everyone to
understand that not everybody wants to put themselves in front
of a camera in national television. So I do get that.
I just felt a little bit like I felt bad
for Katie, for instance, because there's no way one person's

(04:46):
going to fail every single question or you know, or
someone's going to get every single question right. It's just
I don't see how that could be possible unless you're
super super stressed. Maybe she was so caught up in
her own, you know, fears doing the light detector that
she just was going to fail all of it. And
then they also say the only people that can pass
all of the questions are sociopaths. So yeah, something to

(05:08):
think about, right there.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
What do you mean, alexis now I feel bad for also,
And it's also difficult to be in a situation where
you have essentially the entire group on one side and
you're explaining yourself on the other, and then you're subject
to a lie detector test, so obviously you know that
was not a positive experience for her ant I felt
for And again, this is not a court of law,

(05:33):
so exactly, you know.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
That's a really important point for everyone to understand, is that.
And I say this analogy all the time on every
podcast I do. It's like we are not performing brain
surgery people. We are here to entertain America and to
make people laugh and to give a little bit of
fun and lighten up life a little bit. So I
do think that. And so what do you feel like?

(05:54):
Everyone wants to know? And I know you're not going
to tell me because you don't even know, but I'm
just going to ask. Everyone's going you know, he's definitely
not gone for good.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
What is she?

Speaker 1 (06:03):
Or are you going to give another diplomatic answer.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Well, the real answer is we're figuring out what we're doing.
And I genuinely mean that we have not made any
decisions we needed to get through the reunion and not
all of reunion has aired. So part two just aired.
Part three, which is really explosive, is next week obviously,
so just wait for that. And we just did casting,

(06:27):
so we're taking a look at that, and we're having
all the conversations that we need to have as we
figure out what to do in what is a really
big season. It's season twenty, right, so a lot of
considerations surrounding that. So we have a work cut out
for us for sure.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, I do not want to be
in your shoes. I would I honestly, I could never
be in your shoes. Could never deal with this many
women all the time, like illow, okay, okay, tell me
about that.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
How many texts?

Speaker 1 (06:52):
How many texts do you get from women? Being I
was going to go a different direction, but now I
have to say this. How many texts a day do
you get from women when you're in the middle of
a season of them just like coming at you? Because
I remember when I lessi'son eighteen Hello, I'm the prime example.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Okay, No, it can be. It's a lot in a
given day. And I think the other thing is there's
a lot of work to do, and sometimes I get
calls that are want to take hours and I just
don't have the time. And I'm like, this is really great.
I would love to talk to you all day, but
I have like, that's not true.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
You don't want to sit and talk to them all day.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
That's true. Okay, so I don't, Yes, right, that's it
hook me up to no, yeah, no, it's.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Like, okay, look Mclark's chicken and I might. By the way, everybody,
I need every I need every listener to note this
because you don't know this about Alex. He is the
most punctual person I've ever met in my entire life.
I've never had so many phone calls or meetings set
up with him where it's like it's twelve o'clock but
I get the call at eleven fifty nine and thirty
four seconds. I'm like, it's not even twelve yet. But

(07:54):
he is super punctual and I love it. And you
know what I'm learning from you?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Honestly, I have to keep a schedule. Then on my
way here, like I texted Spencer because I felt that
it was like, you know, I'm running four minutes late.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Do you know how happy I wants to get that text?

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Well, he was, I take your tie.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
I think I was ten minutes late getting back up here,
and I still got caught up with everything. But that
that is just.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
So, that is hysterical. You got to keep it moving,
you know.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
I mean, well, you you honestly have like one of
the toughest jobs, and I kind of compare you to
I mean, I can't compare you to Rye and Seacrest,
but I'm kind of like that because I feel like
you've got so many hats that you have to do,
you know, like it's not just oh, I'm producing this
show right now, and then you have a crisis on
another show that you have to deal with, and then
you have a crisis client like or a cast member

(08:47):
like me, and then it's like, I mean, I just
I get exhausted thinking about you.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Well, there isn't any downtime, so it's ongoing. But that's
a life I chose to lead. And I'm also fortunate
that there's enough business to keep me busy, right, I Mean,
the alternative is really scary when you're not making any
shows or you're dependent on one show and you want
to give each show it's love and it's due, so
every show has to be the most important, and so

(09:13):
it's a lot of juggling.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Yeah, but I think that I think the alternative is
also boring. It is like, like I don't want to
wake up in the morning and not be packed.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
You know, I say it all the time, like, whenever
I have a moment of quiet and I have time
to get all of the work done that I've been
waiting to do, I almost panic. I don't know what
to do with myself. So I'm really used to the action.
It's exciting.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
That is so true. And I've noticed in my older age,
because maybe it's because I'm forty eight, but now, but
it's like the busier I am, the more I get
done in a day. And I know there's that saying
that says the ass if you want something done as
the busiest person. You know, I've noticed that if I
have a slower day, it's almost like I really just
want to put on my sweats and watch a show.
I don't want a Housewives show, Okay, but it's like, yeah,

(09:57):
so I think being busy, you are the epitome of
knocking out twenty five hours in a twenty four hour day.
I think that for sure. But let me ask you
another question that just dawned on me. So you were
talking a minute about a minute ago about how busy
you are. Do you have any personal like do you
have anyone in your life?

Speaker 2 (10:16):
No? I mean I don't. I have plenty of friends.
I have an active social life. Otherwise single but honestly
never lonely and never wanting for anything to do. And
also my life it requires a there's a social component
to the job. And so you're so.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Done talking by the end of the day. I'm sure
you go home and you're like, I do not want
you to talk to one more person.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I don't want to talk to anyone, right, I mean,
it's something and when someone asks you how is your day,
and like, I don't have time to answer that. I
don't want to answer that. So hey, that's a stressful question.
But yeah, no, I mean I am overstimulated by my job,
that's for sure. Are you add probably probably, yeah, I
would imagine, so I think we all have.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
Yeah, I saw him. I couldn't my makeup artist today.
I was sitting there in the chair and he's like,
can you just sit down and don't move, and I'm like,
but I gotta get this, And then my phone rang
and then this, and he's like, just sit down and
I'm working and I did a podcast. I did a
podcast while he's doing my hair, like I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Twenty seven things once sorry, Ady.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
D Adhd. Didn't they say that almost every president that
they've ever done. The statistic on has that every president
of the United States because of the fact that they
have to be able to multi they have to be
able to multitask is that? Am I somebody? Please please
some viewer let me know or listener let me know
if I'm right about that. But I did hear that somewhere,
and I think it's true. I don't see there's any
other way that you can run a country without having it.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
No, I mean that's that's a yeah, that's right. That's
the order today. If you're trying to do a million
things at once, then your attention has to be everywhere.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
Okay, so where are you headed? I think that I
know you got to get going, but I think the
viewer or the listeners probably want to know what are
you going to now? Like you have to go back
and just be at the bravocons or where are you
headed right now?

Speaker 2 (11:56):
So I have it was a great morning. So a
couple of exciting announcements. We dropped the super tease for
spin off of The Valley the Valley Person style stop
It with the Shaws of Sunset in a new group saw.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Them last night, ran into us. I was so excited so.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
All of those guys. And then we also just announced
the new series we're doing with Jeff Lewis called Still
Flipping Out. That's the working title. So really excited about that.
And then it's the Beverly Hills panel right now, which
I'm missing to be here with you.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Okay, okay, I don't feel worthy enough for that, but
thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I'm happy to do it.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Keep going because here goes your day and I'm already exhausted.
I need to go.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
I need to take a nap, and then I have
to go back to my hotel. I have to do
a little bit of work, and then because you know,
that's still happening right now, even in this carnival, and
then I have a drinks and then I have a dinner,
and then it's Andy show, and then who knows what
happens after that, and then we wake up and we
run it back, we do it again.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I hear you, but I think that everyone would want
to know that, and that's what you're doing. And so
you know what, guys, I have to let him go
because he's running here. He got four minutes late. He's
got to rush to his next place. But we are
so thankful here that you took time out for us
and you actually answered some hard questions.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
Oh good, I'm glad I did to disappoint you on
this other on the other side of the mic here, Yeah, he'll.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Never come back. Guys, Sorry, I got I'm a one
and done.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
No, you know what you were. You were nicer to
me than Teddy and Tamra have been.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Well, okay, that's a whole nother podcast.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Ask me you know why she was fired from Beverly Hills.
What kind of question is that?

Speaker 1 (13:35):
I Well, you and I've already had a talk, so
I already know my answers for all of that. But
I also it's I mean, when you have his text,
you can just like you can blow off on him
and then come, you know, come back around. But anyway,
I do adore you and just enjoyed this so much.
For this twenty minutes has made my day. So thank
you so much.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Well, really fun, always great to see you.
