Speaker 1 (00:10):
We just watched one of the greatest college football games
of the twenty twenty five season, and you gotta love it.
So I'm still away because obviously I've been on CW
today doing college football games, but you know I was
watching this Oregon game the entire time, and yeah, so
(00:31):
we gotta talk about it. This was an eighteen to
sixteen win in Kinnick, Oregon Ducks got the victory, and
this was an exciting game. So we're gonna break down
every single angle of this. So you guys, make sure
that you guys hop in the chat. You know that
I get to you guys in the chat as always,
But I appreciate your time. I appreciate your energy, because
(00:52):
your time is the most valuable thing that you have,
and I appreciate you spending it with me. So let's
start with I guess the beginning of the game. Let's
start with the weather. Actually, no, no, no, before we even
start with the with the weather, and if Iowa fans
in here, this is not just gonna be an Oregon thing.
We're gonna talk about your team as well. So let's
(01:14):
start back with last night. So I'm flying up here
to the studio and then I start getting text messages, Hey, yo, George,
have you heard that that that Decoryan Moore towards a
cl that that Kenya Sadek is gonna be out, that
Harkey is hurt, Jordan Davidson is hurt, And I'm like,
(01:34):
what the hell is going Oh, we just had a
bye week. How is this humanly possible that we are
this hurt? That Oregon is this hurt after a freaking
bye week. So so that was that was my first thing.
So I'm on the plane, I start sending out some
text messages. I did not get replies from people that
(01:55):
I would normally get replies from, and that was the
first sign of something might be a little bit wrong here.
That was that was my first tell tale sign, because
if I don't get a reply, I mean, mind you,
I normally don't ask about injury stuff because I understand
like the gravity of it, and you know, I don't
(02:15):
report on Oregon injuries. That's not my business that you know,
a college football analysts. So the first thing was, WHOA,
what the hell is going on? Because you kind of
see the whole season flash before your eyes and everything else.
But there were no confirmed reports the building did a
great job of locking everything down. And if you notice
(02:36):
the the line didn't move, Orgon was favored by six
and a half points. I think by kickoff it was
six or five and a half depending on where you
were betting it. But just the fact that it did
not go down, I'm like, Okay, something might not be
right here in the in the situation, because if Oregon
was down this many players, particularly Attack and the Koryan
(03:02):
Moore and all that stuff that that there would be
on some level you would have to be concerned about
the line movie.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
And then I'm.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Like but but then when I got no response, I'm like, Okay,
where there is smoke, there is fire. Where there is smoke,
there is there is fire. We can't sit here and
just act like that there's nothing there. So I knew
that somebody was hurt. And then by the time I
went to sleep last night, I had a good idea
(03:32):
of who it was, just not the severity of it.
So from what we know right now, based upon what
Dan Lanning said, uh, Decory Moore is that he will
be back at some point in time Skinyon. It doesn't
look like there are any season ending injuries. So and
(03:53):
you know, Oregon. They wanted to make sure that there
was some gamesmanship here there. They wanted to make sure
that nobody really knew what the hell was going on,
which is obviously smart because then Iowa can adjust. So
then we find out before kickoff that Sadiq Harky and
the Korey and Moore are going to be out, and
(04:15):
then you look at the weather. Iowa fans have been
rooting for bad weather all week and they got it.
I don't know if it was as bad as they
hoped it was, but you know, it was bad weather
and it was similar to what Oregon played in against Wisconsin,
who beat you dub today. But that's who the other story.
So let's get to this game. I predicted that Oregon
(04:37):
would win this game by two scores, and honestly, the
way the game played out, this was entirely possible. Entirely possible.
And then we will address this. But also I gotta
address Kirk Curvestreet for another time if you missed it
on my Twitter, because on game day to day, Kirk
(04:59):
Curvestreet's said that Iowa would come in this game, that
they would play tough, and that they would squeak it
out with a field goal at the at the end
of field goal would decide this game, and he was right,
just for the wrong team. Now, this Iowa team is tough,
and I over this last week and Oregon fans can
attest to this. I have grown to love Iowa fans,
(05:23):
the the comm I did not know how passionate, dedicated
and into their team that they were so big. Ups
to Iowa fans. Y'all deserve all the credit in the world.
Like it was. It was absolutely special, a special week
of engagement, and I hope that they stay around the
(05:47):
channel because this was Oh man, I loved it. I
thought that those people were amazing, And honestly, I started
to feel bad for Iowa fans when I was watching
film this week and during the game. Their defense is tough.
They make you earn everything. They are physical, they are,
(06:09):
they are they're all the things that everybody in the
environment was. Everything that lived up to everything that Iowa
fans said. I felt bad because they deserve an offense.
Kirk Farns is too good of a head coach. Now,
think about Oregon fans. If you were dealing with this,
a defense like Oregon has now and a mediocre offense, yes,
(06:35):
you can run the ball on some level, but why
does every game have to be a rock fight? And
I know that they blew out with Wisconsin and Minnesota,
but that was largely due to defense and special teams.
Like I should be in contention for Big Ten championships
and they're not because Kirk Farrence refuses to play offense
(06:58):
and it is madening. Like I feel bad for Iowa fans.
They deserve better than this. They deserve better than this.
But now let's talk about the officials. The officials in
this game. And I'm a person who never complains about
the officials because I believe that you got to play
with your troubles. The officials were atrocious in this football game.
(07:20):
They were atrocious. I mean, how in God's name and
that there were some And yes, I know Iowa fans
were upset about no passing afference call, but I didn't
think that that was past passing aference. But but you
got a pass in aference call that you didn't even deserve.
Oregon had five penalties for fifty seven yards, and I
(07:43):
will only have one penalty that was called on the
when the when he tried to kick the ball after
the snap went over his head for the punt for
the safety. There were holdings all over the place and everything.
But I'm not gonna blame any of the type game
on the referees, but they were atrocious. It was clear
(08:03):
that they they was not and I'm not accusing him
of any impropriety, but it was some you know, some
some home refing going on and in there. Then and
then where was the intentional ground the on third third down?
I called my son who plays in college. I was like, yo, can't.
I'm pretty sure he can intentional ground. In the end,
he was like, yes, there was nobody uh going going
(08:25):
out for a pass, so yes, it should have been
intentional ground. It was. It was crazy. It was crazy,
all right. So let's start at the beginning. Actually, let's
let's go through this. Now. I got to give big
props to Dante More and Mark grond Granowski. Now Mark Granowski,
(08:48):
because he is tough. Do you know, he reminds me of,
oh gosh, if we are talking Oregon quarterbacks, he reminds
me a little bit of Jeremiah Massoli. A dude who
is one hundred percent physical, one hundred percent you know,
he just finds a way to win football games. But
(09:09):
is he a great quarterback? No? Not in terms of
a passer.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
No.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
And that's what Mark Granowski is. He is a battery ram,
he is a full back. He's Mike all stop playing quarterback.
And I could not figure out for the life of
me on that last play why Oregon would spread out
like that. But that but we'll get to that. But
big up to Mark Granowski, and I got to give
big ups to Dante Moore because one of the things
(09:35):
that has been questioned about Dante Moore is this kid's heart.
His heart has been questioned time and time again. And honestly,
when when that last drive came and the camera pay
to him when he was sitting on the bench, I
was like, are those the eyes of a winner? And
I know that I'm not the only one that thought that.
And I've known the kid for a while, so I
(09:56):
like the kid and I believe in the kid. But
you you still do have to figure out what if
the dog is in there? And people questioned him after
the Indiana game and then to show up like he
did today in the fourth quarter, questions were answered. Questions
were answered about this kid's heart, and you love to
(10:17):
see it because because if he didn't, he would have
gotten absolutely dogged by everybody had that. Had he came
up small that in that moment, and we all know
that that's the truth. We all know that that's the truth.
And so then the next thing is I gotta give
(10:40):
props to Atticus Sappington, who I So I'm watching the
game with Mike Yam and Michael Bumpus, who I do
the show with on c W. And the first kick
that this kid had, I was like, no, he ain't
gonna make this kick. I just didn't believe. And honestly,
(11:04):
and then the second one, because the first one was
forty six yards, then next one, and then the last one,
even though it seemed like a chip shot, I didn't.
I was like, dude, there's no way he's missed too
many kicks. As an Oregon fan, you know how many
times you've been let down by kicks. And it's so frustrated,
(11:24):
so frustrated, and he came through here. But before we
go any further, I do have to give you guys this.
I do have to tell you guys about the sponsor
for this episode. You're trying to get to the biggest
sporting events, concerts, or any other event, use the game
Time app, and you know you're getting the best price
(11:45):
because game Time will credit you one hundred and ten
percent of the difference. So make sure you use my
code GW twenty and enjoy your experiences. All right, So
now back to it. So attaka Sappington, Great job, Kick,
great job you came through in the clutch. But let's
(12:06):
look at the narratives of this game. Because I told
you that this game was going to be decided by offense.
It was not going to be decided by defense, and
it was Oregon's offense that went in and did what
everybody did not believe that they could do. Think about
how many people came up and said, oh, Oregon, they're
(12:27):
going against one of the best rush defenses in all
the country, this Iowa defense. And I was like, yes,
this Iowa defense is good. They're very good. But let's
not sit here and pretend because Oregon came into this game.
Iowa came into this game second in the nation, either
(12:48):
second or third the nation, depending on what them into
Toledo in yards per game allowed, and Oregon was fourth.
But all the talk was about Iowa's defense, and I
was defense did perform, but for a defense that was
only allowing eighty three rushing yards per game. Oregon went
(13:10):
out there and did exactly. They went out They were
averaging only giving up eighty three point nine rushing yards
per game, which put them one of the tops in
the nation. And do you know what Oregon came out
there and did. They came out and ran the football
to the tune of thirty six for two sixty one
(13:33):
seven point three yards per carry an a tuddy. I
don't know what else you need to prove Harky was out.
You had. Yeah, this offensive line dominated Noah Whittington seventeen
for one, eighteen six point nine yards per carry. This
was the best Nod Whittington we have ever seen. The
(13:56):
kid was on his a game today. Jordan Davison five
yards to carry, eight carries, fifty two yards, great game.
Dante Moore had the forty nine yard run which put
him in positive yards rushing. Darre Hill seven for forty
five and a tuddy. It was good to see him
get some more touches today. This was absolutely fantastic. And
(14:19):
now we got to get to the part that was
a little bit tough. It was Oregon's pass game past
the past game was absolutely tough. Today, part of it
was the weather, but then also you had dropped balls.
And on that last drive, Dante looked a little bit
hesitant to go back to Jeremiah McClelland after that drop
(14:44):
on third down, but he did complete a slant to him.
But Malik Benton two catches for twenty nine yards, and
I swear to god it it felt like he had six.
That's what it felt like. The kid had six catches
for eighty eight yards. That's what it felt like. But
the biggest catch of the entire game, and it was
(15:07):
so clutch, so clutch. Jamari Johnson stepped up today four
catches for thirty six yards. Cooper Perry even came in
justice low go Gota catch. This reminded me of the
Dodgers a little bit in that it took a total
team effort to be able to win this game, total
team effort. There was nobody that got left out in
(15:29):
terms of having to help. Now let's go to this defense,
because Oregon's defense showed up and showed out, except for
on the thirty eight yard pass to Jacob Hill where
Betcher was looking in the backfield and let him run, run,
past them for Iowa's first touchdown, but they got close.
(15:52):
They didn't score on the play, but they got close.
And then when they dropped number eighty one dj Vonami,
they dropped him for a forty yard pass on third
down that would have ended the game because Iowa would
have had to punt, and it almost looked like Gronowski
could throw the ball. He was ten for eighteen for
(16:13):
one thirty eight and a touchdown today. Now, granted he
did not make any big mistakes, but he is also
not a guy that you can depend on to throw
the football at that at that level. But Oregon's defense
people talked about this Iowa run game, and I love
how committed that they are to the run game. They
are one hundred percent committed to it. Forty three rushes,
(16:36):
only eighteen passes, but it was only for one hundred
and one yards. That's two point three yards per carry.
If I had told you, and I told everybody in
the in the in the lead up to this, Oregon's
defense was going to show up. It was going to
be which offense showed up the best. And Iowa's offense
(16:56):
did not show up in any other level than how
they normally show up, but their running game got stuffed.
It got stuffed, and it was the physicality of Bear
Alexander who got held on damn near every single play.
Amari Washington did a good job today. Tatum Toyot, Lord listen,
(17:19):
Tatum Tuyot bawled his ass off today. He had a sack,
tackle for loss. He had nine of nine tackles, five
solo tackles. The kid is amazing. And Jerry Mixon thirteen tackles,
nine solo tackles. I don't know what else you could
(17:40):
have asked him to do. You could not have asked
him to do anything else than what he did. I
don't know, No, thank you. Yeah, see, yeah, you could
not have asked the kid to do anything more than
with thirteen tackles, nine solo tackles. Bryce Betcher was good today,
(18:04):
aside from that one play where he dropped him. And
you know, Finny uneventful day, uneventful day. They won't even
throw at the kid. He's he's out there looking like
Dion Sanders. They won't even throw at him. Uh yeah,
Terrence Green, they all clogged it up now now, Matteo,
(18:27):
he did not have a statistical good game, but he
would but they challenged him with physicality because that's been
the thing that people have said on that Oh run it,
run it number number ten. Well, they tried to run
at ten today had no success. Let me hop into
chat and see what you guys are talking about there.
(18:50):
Uh no, I am not in and Iowa. Today. I
was doing studio for c W and we had the
Stanford North Carolina game Oregon's Uh okay, let's hop in
the chat. Let's go up to the top of the chat.
See what you guys are talking about. I would play
so fast they can score a tea. He was uh
(19:13):
oh by by kickoff, it was down. The line was
apparently down to four and a half two point drop
on game day. Yes, that is absolutely significant. Yeah, Bear
was held on every play. What do you guys think
about Gary Danielson. I think that this is interesting because
obviously I work in media and people have negative thoughts.
I mean, how do you hate Joe Joe Buck? Which
(19:35):
is weird, weird to me. But Gary Danielson has been
a star Wars on CBS, and I noticed that SEC
fans don't like him either when they were on there.
I don't understand. I think he's cool. But you know,
happy we won, but the receiving core but where does
the receiving corps go from here? Listen, they gotta get
(19:56):
get up better and we're gonna get Evan Stewart back
next week. That's that's what it looks like is going
to to happen. So that's a big deal. Oh, he said,
the bad calls don't excuse our secondary. They lit up
everyone that we've played only had tennis throws to defend
and let every deep throw get get by. Now, okay,
(20:19):
let's address that. On the two deep plays that that happened.
One of them was max protection and I think we
only rushed three and had a spy on the quarterback
and nobody got got home. And then the second one
was oh yeah, we were in cover too and we
just dropped them. But there was no pass rush like
(20:42):
they were just trying to find fine work in fenemen
and uh flowers, they they dropped that. That's an unfortunate play.
But it is foot. It's it's foot football. Per Perfection
is not a thing. Uh. We we need to deep
back one hundred. Oh oh my gosh. So let's go
(21:02):
to the let's kind of go through the whole theme
of the game. So Oregon gets the safety to start
start the game, and then you're like, oh, wow, do
they even have enough points to win with the way
that this the way that this team is scoring, the
way that this is going. So they got a safety
(21:23):
on the first Yeah, so they got a safety and
then scored a touchdown. Now you're up nine zero, and
then you give up that long pass and now you're
sitting at nine to seven, twelve to seven at halftime.
And I don't know how I will always end up
with these nasty ass scores. How it's freaking crazy. You
(21:43):
get a field goal in the third quarter, go up,
go up eight. Now you're like, okay, cool. And then
Drew Stevens hit a fifty eight yard field goal. Where
do they do those at fifty eight yards? Listen, I'm
not gonna complain about Atticans Sapentine because he had his
career day to day. So I'm not gonna wish for
Drew Stevens to be my kicker because he can kick
(22:06):
a fifty eight yarder. Hopefully we don't need a fifty
eight yarder at any point in time. But now let's
talk about when it was fifteen to ten it was
fourth d it was fourth down and Oregon was on
I'm sorry, they were on the they were on the
(22:26):
three yard line, and I would comes out and spreads
everybody out in five wives. What the hell of that?
Well it was four wives? And then they motioned the
back out. What the hell are they gonna do in
four wives? The same thing that they did the last
time that they got in that they spread it out
and they ran a quarterback draw. What did you think
(22:48):
was going to happen? I could not figure out. When
we were out all spread out and only had four
or five people in the box, I was like, what
are we doing? I know that Becher and Mixing are
gonna crash off the edge and we're just gonna blitz
him and force him to pass the ball. And we didn't.
(23:08):
We just let him run the ball. I could. I
was in sense. I was screaming at the television. I
was like, what what is what God's name is going on?
Why on earth would we leave this man to run?
Because if he can throw the ball and beat you
on the number one pass defense in the country, when
(23:29):
he has not shown any ability to do that, to
throw in a tight window all day, why wouldn't you
make him do it? But you win the game. So
so there's so there's that, but then that game win
and drive. Listen, let's let's let's go through it. First
of all, in the first half, I thought we were
(23:53):
when we were going down bit before halftime, I thought
that we moved a little bit too slow and and
didn't eat up enough clock. And I'm well, sorry, we
ate up way too much clock considering that we had
timeouts and all of that stuff. So as the as
the drive is going, so it's a minute and fifty
one seconds, start out with a four yard run, four
(24:16):
yard pass, and that all by itself took up thirty
three seconds. So now we're so now it's minute eighteen
at the twenty nine yard line and I'm like, oh okay.
And then you get a three yard run and I'm like,
you're at the thirty three. So now it is forty
(24:36):
four seconds left, you're at the thirty six. I'm like,
can we speed up please? And then you get an
eight yard pass to McClelland, and then with the tick
tick tick tick tick tick tick, and then here comes
the twenty four yard pass Dante Moore to Malik Benson.
(25:00):
He might as well have handed Malik the ball, just
just put it right there and handed it to him.
That was in a freaking ridiculous, throat, ridiculous throw he
deserves like that is stones, that is onions, and the
kid was nails on that last drive and then a
(25:23):
couple shots at the end zone. So I couldn't even
be be mad. I thought it was a pass interference.
Uh when he went back to Benson at first, and
then when they showed the replayos like, oh that's TICKI tack.
I wouldn't want that called. But then in comes Atticus Sappington,
the man that the world doubted, the man Oregon fans
(25:44):
doubt it. Put it now, It wasn't right between the uprights.
He did sneak it in that left corner, but in
his end, baby, in his end. And truthfully, this was
one of the best wins that Oregon has had in
a long time because this was a gut check. You
were hurt, you were injured. The entire world's doubting you.
(26:10):
Oh oh, upset city. I was gonna win. I was
gonna win. I was gonna win. But when you what
when the world is against you and you come out
and you put up a performance like that in those
bad conditions, everybody against you, in a hostile environment, against
(26:31):
a physical football team, and you are the more physical
football team. And as in as a person who's watched
Oregon football since nineteen ninety nine, when I got there,
there were times where we had some good defenses, right,
there were some that, Yeah, there were some defenses that
(27:00):
we're good over the years, and that's how you get
to play in two national championship games. But the level
of defense that Oregon has now and the level of
physicality that they have now, I don't know how anybody
could could not love it. How could you not love
the level of physicality that your team plays with? And
(27:21):
then I've been I tried to tell everybody for a
couple for the last two weeks, trying to be the
leader of the Oregon fan base. People are saying, oh
my god, will Stein sucks. The coaching staff is bad,
our players aren't good enough. The season is lost in this.
I'm like, you're sitting at seven and one and the
(27:43):
new age of college football is here. Nobody is perfect.
You watch Alabama, There's nothing perfect about Alabama at all. Honestly,
there's only one team in college football right now that
doesn't look like they can be f with and that's
Ohio State. That that's it. You saw Indiana versus Penn
(28:06):
State today. Oh If Oregon plays with the level of
physicality that they played today with and they and they
do well in terms of stopping the run, you don't
think they can beat the Indiana one. They can beat
the Indiana Texas A and M. Their quarterback is if
you force him into passing situations, you can That is
(28:28):
a game that can be won. Alabama. Alabama already lost
to Florida State, so you can't even talk about whether
they're not flawed or not. Georgia they their defense has
looked not great at times, and their ability to run
the football sometimes is not great either. Ole Miss went
(28:50):
down to the wire basically with Washington State, and they
have been scored upon. Arkansas, I believe almost beat them
BYU don't have the athletes. You saw what Texas Tech
did to them today. Put them in a put them
in a nook, the headlock and game of nogie. Texas
(29:10):
Tech lost to Arizona State, and I icually think that
they might be the third best team in the country
right right now in terms of the way that they
have destroyed people. The only game that they lost was
the Arizona State when their quarterback Baron Morien was out.
Not there. Dame looks good, but they're flawed, clearly, Texas flawed,
so Virginia flawd Like, like, how are you going to
(29:34):
This is the thing is like how can you look
at your team if you are Oregon and be like,
oh man, listen, listen, we just don't have it. You can't.
This a new era of college football. Everybody has flaws
right now and it is going to be who is
playing the best when December and January come around. But
(29:59):
Oregon's schedule did take a hit today because the Washington
Huskies lost. The Washington Huskies lost to the to the
to Wisconsin, Yes, that same Wisconsin team, And I put
Washington on upset alert this week. I put Washington on
(30:20):
upset alert because I knew exactly what was going to
happen this. This Wisconsin team is tough. They they have
rallied around their their head coach, mister Luke Fickle, because
they know they know what's going on. I tell you this,
(30:46):
this was an absolutely amazing game and it was fun
to watch. All right, let me hop in the chat.
See what else you guys have to say? Uh, put
your resume a in because will Stein is gonna be
a head coach where he's gonna be? Oh yeah, he's
for sure gonna be a head coach. Somebody said, what
happened to Matteo? I don't think it was hurt or anything.
(31:08):
He uh he was, He wasn't in on a lot
of places they were running at him. Yeah, Indiana only
beat Iowa. Yeah, they snuck by Iowa. Giving a choice
Indiana losing or Washington losing today, I'm picking Washington to
lose every single time. Yeah, it doesn't matter. If Oregon
(31:30):
continues to win, it doesn't matter. But I have a question,
who is scared of USC right now? Is anybody afraid
of USC? With what you have seen? That's a legitimate question.
Is anybody afraid of USC? Because if if the level
(31:52):
of physicality, because remember Northwestern was running over USC yesterday.
If you're sitting here thinking that USC is going to
beat Oregon, oh oh oh, Oregon can line up and
run USC over. And whenever USC has played against the
(32:13):
top pass defense, they have struggled and Oregon has the
number one pass defense in the country, So there's that.
I'm actually crazy excited about that because when you can
be proud of your football team, this is one thing
(32:35):
that fans have to always appreciate, is when you can
be proud of the football team that your team, the
product that your team puts out there, it's amazing. And
this sort of win is exactly why Dan Lanning is
so sought after by all these other teams and they
want to see if there's anything that they can give
(32:56):
him that'll get him the league because of what you
saw on it feel today. Now, I do have one
complaint of well, actually it ain't even a complaint because
I mean, it's Dan's choice. Can anybody explain to me
why Dan Lannon keeps wearing cotton sweat cotton shirts, cotton
sweaters in the rain. I mean, I know he's a
(33:19):
tough guy, I know it, but I'm like, man, can
you please put put on a raincoat or something. Fam
we can't have you getting pneumonia and missing practice, man.
But I also found it funny that people said this
(33:41):
is that this was Oregon's welcome to the Big ten moment,
But how house way, how is this a welcome to
the Big Ten moment. Oregan's welcome to the Big Ten
was going undefeated in the Big Ten last year and
winning the Big Ten championship, and all of them games
(34:01):
weren't easy. This is the same type of game that
they had with Wisconsin last year. This ain't Oregon's first
tough game. Come on, man. Oh he said he doesn't
put on rain gear because he wants to be in
it with it, with his players. If that's an actual quote,
I'm not mad at that. I'm not. I'm not because
(34:22):
then you are all in it. Yeah, and Oregon still
hasn't even lost on the road in the Big Ten,
and people are always talking about road games are so hard. Yes,
they are hard. Good teams win hard games. That's just
the truth. And if you guys are just joining us, man,
I appreciate your time. I appreciate your energy. I gotta
(34:44):
tell you real quick who this episode is sponsored by.

So make sure you use my code GW twenty and
enjoy your experience. All right, Now back to it, dude,
(35:10):
this and so let's kind of look forward just a
little bit, look forward a little bit in terms of
what's going on. And also let's look across the rest
of college football right now. So Oregon has two more
three more games. They're at home versus Minnesota next next week.
(35:34):
And I don't want anybody to believe that that is
a layup of a football game, because it's not. I
know that they lost the eye with forty one to three,
but they're not going to turn the ball over as
much as they did, or they they might, but you
can't just think that that is going to happen. And
Ohio State beat them forty two to three, so you
(35:55):
better show up because Minnesota is going to try to
bring their best. Then there's USC and then there's Washington.
Now let's look across the nation, because Oregon came in
at number nine and people were questioning, oh, who they
played and everything else. So this Indiana team I need
(36:15):
everybody to understand. And you guys, make sure that you
swipe up like share if you're watching it on Twitter,
go to the YouTube channel and give give it a
subscribe as well. The link is on the channel. The
link is on the YouTube. So Ohio State came in one, Indiana,
two Techa and M three, Alabama, Georgia, Old miss BYU,
(36:37):
Texas Tech, Oregon, and Notre dameed around out the top ten. Now,
after this Iowa game and the way that Oregon performed,
obviously they're going to go up because BYU is gonna
fall because of the way BYU lost. Texas Tech thumped them,
absolutely thumped them. So and we know that the that
(37:00):
the voters they typically just move people up, don't really
like shuffle the deck a whole lot, and tex saying
them beat Missouri thirteen thirty eight to thirteen. So I'm
looking at actually, hold up, I got it right here
for you. I got it right here for you people.
(37:21):
So here is the poll here. Oh, let me get
my video back. Okay. So ah man, I'm not at home,
so I got some technical things going on right here. Okay,
So here is the playoff rankings right here. I believe
(37:46):
that you're gonna have Texas Tech too. Well. Texas Tech
should at least go up to number six or number five.
That helped maybe even number four with the way that
they destroyed B one. I mean, twenty nine to seven.
It wasn't even close, Like that game was not even
(38:06):
close Oregon. And the reason why that they should jump
Old Miss for sure is because Old Miss. Yeah, it
is because Old Miss played the Citadel today. You played
the Citadel in November. Yes, you're gonna get jumped. That
was gross watching everybody else play real football games and
(38:29):
you just watching Old Miss play Citadel. If you don't
stop it, stop it, stop it, stop it, all right,
And Vanderbilt won today. Virginia is trying to catch up
on wake Forest right right now. That game is going
on in the background as we speak, so we'll get
(38:52):
to that in a minute. Let me see if I
can get this video going for you guys real quick,
the way you guys can see what the hell is
that's going on. So right right now you have the
CFP here is the way it was shaken out as
of last week. Memphis lost, so they're gonna be out
of there at the twelve spot. Virginia is down to
(39:13):
wake Forest right now, sixteen to nine with two minutes
to go, so we'll see how that goes. And then
you got BYU at seven so they're gonna be out
of there. So Oregon at a very minimum, is gonna
be going on the home line of the college football
playoff seeding. So at the very worst, at the very worst,
(39:37):
and they finished, if they finished at eleven and one,
that's gonna be you know, that's gonna be significant. All right.
So let's go through the games of today a little bit.
You had ooh, callan Louisville notted up twenty three to
(39:58):
twenty three with two minutes to go. So Notre Dame
and Navy. Notre Dame, which people have criticized, they are
beaten that, you know what out of people. It's forty
nine to ten over Navy right now, they've rushed the
ball for two hundred and twenty five yards. That was
part of my no doubters Like that was part of
(40:21):
the no doubters. I was like, what the hell are
we doing now? I'm gonna take you guys to my
upset alert teams, right So, I had these teams on
upset alert today. Hold, let me get this thing on
for you. Why can't I put this camera? Why can
(40:44):
I put this camera on? God damn, I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
y'all all right, So on upset alert. This this week,
I had certain teams. I had Georgia versus Mississippi State.
Georgia didn't care nothing about it, forty one to twenty one.
(41:06):
And I'm actually very very excited to see this Georgia
Texas game next next week because it's in Georgia, and
we're gonna see what Texas is really made out of
and we're gonna see what Georgia is really made out of. Now,
part of me wants Georgia to win that football game,
because if Georgia doesn't win that football game, if if
(41:33):
Texas wins that football game, the SEC is going to
be making every single case trying to get five or
six teams in the college football playoffs. And they are
not the best in terms of the number one teams
in the college football playoffs. All right, Then we also
had we also had today, we had Auburn versus Vanderbilt.
(42:00):
In this game, Diego Pavia three hundred and seventy seven yards,
three touchdowns. He was impressive. He also rushed for another
one hundred and twelve yards and a touchdown as well.
Now Auburn is playing with a new head coach in
dj Durkin and after this win, Vanderbilt is going to
get a bump. They're number sixteen right now. They're gonna
(42:23):
get a bump after this game because for some reason,
people do not want to acknowledge what they really are.
They are a good football team, but they need to
be getting the same treatment that SMU and Indiana got
last last year, where everybody's like, yeah, it's a good team,
but it's a good team. But now let's talk about
(42:46):
that Indiana team. Indiana beat Penn State twenty seven to
twenty four, and I thought this was gonna be a
no doubter or game. But in the back of my mind,
I was like, Penn State is at home. They are
not a they're not an untalented team. But they lost
this game today because and remember everybody, if you play
(43:10):
not to lose, if you play scared, you will one
hundred percent lose football games. And Penn State had the
ball with two minutes left, they only needed one first down.
Indiana had timeouts left, but instead of being aggressive, Penn
(43:31):
State just just decided to run and punt the football
and then Indiana allowed Fernando Mendoza to potentially have his
Heisman moment driving his team down, getting hit, throwing it
to the back of the end zone and toe tap it.
So Fernando mendo and Andy, by the way, I am
(43:54):
a Heisman voter, and I looked at the moments today
from Dante more and for Fernando Mendoza as like, oh
oh yeah, those are moments. Those are moments. So I'm
I'm excited about this season of college football. But here
(44:15):
is the key to beating Indiana. Stop their run game.
Indiana only rushed thirty one for one oh eight for
three point five yards per carry. And Fernando Mendoza, everybody
thinks that he's been putting up video game numbers did
this year He has not. He's been throwing touchdown passes.
Heally has one three hundred yard passing game this whole season.
(44:39):
He's got two oh one two eighteen, two fifteen, two
thirty three, two sixty seven, two seventy. His numbers aren't
like he's not putting up air raid video game numbers,
but he is making plays when it matters the most,
and he's doing a good job with his legs. Now,
Penn State should have absolutely won this football game. Ethan
Grunkeermyer was good Allen and Singleton. They didn't get a
(45:03):
lot in terms of yards per yards per carry, but
it was fun. And I need everybody to understand because
you're gonna have people talking about, oh, this this team
barely scraped by they barely scraped by a bad, a
(45:24):
bad Penn State team. Well, why don't sec why all
of a sudden, is a road win at Kentucky or
Mississippi State so much more valuable than a road win
at Penn State? Who is a more talented football team?
Explain that to me? And why on earth could we
(45:45):
sit here and try to minimize a gutty win by
Indiana when Old miss struggled with Washington State, Texas needed
overtime to escape Mississippi State and barely got by Kentucky.
Georgia had issues with Florida, and Alabama lost to Florida State.
(46:08):
So don't give me no lip about Texas, A and
M jumping Indiana. Get out of here, Get out of
my face with that. Nobody wants to hear it. But
that's gonna be the talk. When when y'all watched the
recap shows tonight and all of this week, and when
the College Football Playoff Committee. When when the rankings come
(46:29):
out on Tuesday, all you're gonna hear is, oh, well,
well Tech Texas, A and M. They beat a ranked
Missouri team, and even though Missouri had no business being ranked,
they have not beaten anybody. You'll hear Indy, oh Man, Indiana.
Then maybe they shouldn't you know, TEXA and M should
jump them because they struggle at Penn State. Why don't
(46:52):
Why Why are Mississippi State and Kentucky considered good road
winds or Florida? Well, those teams are still good if
the Penn State still has NFL players too. That's the point.
I want you guys to get in there, and you
guys make sure that you like, subscribe, get notifications, tell
a friend about the show and if you're watching it
(47:17):
on Twitter, or go on and share it with a friend.
All Right, the next game that we gotta talk talk about, actually,
let me hop in the chat and see what you
guys got going in the chat. How can I would
lose when the entire football universe wanted the Ducks to lose? Yeah? True,
Fernando Mendoza is a great QB. He just plays well
(47:39):
with the fundamentals of the offense. He definitely was. Oh
question came in, if Oregon wins out, how high can
they go? I'm thinking that they can probably get as
high as five, depending on what happens with everybodybody else,
But I would say five would be about as high
as they can possibly go. And truthfully, if you're an
(48:01):
Oregon fan, do you even really want to buy? And
if you're an Oregon fan, wouldn't you rather have a
home playoff game in the first round? I would That
would be amazing, That would be amazing. And honestly, I
believe that the that the first round playoff games should
absolutely be on the road. I'm well, it should should
(48:22):
be at the home stadiums one every single time. All right, Yeah,
so Indiana still should be number two going into this week. Now,
let's look at the Texas A and M and Missouri
game thirty eight to seventeen, and Marcel Red versus Matt
(48:45):
Zohlers and TEXTA and them did exactly what they should
do to Missouri. Missouri was playing a freshman quarterback who
went seven for twenty two for seventy seven yards. That's
that's exactly what Tech say and them should do. Missouri's
on their third string quarterback. That's that's not how you
(49:07):
win football games. And their head coach, Eli Drinkwitz is
everybody knows that he is actively shopping himself around for
coaching jobs. So of course your team is not going
to play great when everybody is looking out for them themselves.
(49:29):
Ahmad Hardy doing what's best for himself. Jamal Roberts, Now
you got some of these dudes still trying to do
what's best for the team. But how can you not
even even think about yourself and what's best for you
when your head coach is his name is being rumored
about for head coaching jobs. That makes no sense. They
(49:51):
will try to blame the players, but it ain't the players.
This is the coaches, all right. But but Texas A and
M does have some good things going. Their offense is
really good. Ruben Owens at running back, Casey Concepcion, Mario Craver,
(50:12):
their wide receivers, they're really good. But I got questions
about the rushing defense because they have been rushed upon.
Notre Dame rushed upon them. The Missouri had over two
hundred yards today. LSU, which has had trouble running the football,
they weren't able to run it run it on them,
(50:33):
but they were able to put up twenty five points.
So this team can be beat. Now, Mike Elko's doing
a good job and at least he has shut down
the rumors on some level of him leaving, so we'll see.
Now let's look at Ohio State. Ohio State Perdue. This
game was actually very, very, very interesting. Purdue was up
(50:58):
at the end of the third quarter three to zero,
but then everything fell apart because Ohio State within the
blink of an eye, within the blink of an eye,
to start the seventh to start the second quarter, nine
plays seventy five yards and a touchdown, Then ten plays
eighty nine yards another touchdown, then they get an interception,
(51:21):
nine plays thirty yards, touchdown, then they get a field
goal before the half, and all of a sudden, it's
twenty four to three. This offense is absolutely dangerous and
this defense is super dangerous too, with Rvel Reese of
the sunny styles Peyton Pierce. This is a good football team. Now,
(51:45):
I do not believe that Ohio State cannot be be beat,
and I'm gona point to you why, because this team
has not been tested yet and there is no point
in time in any college football season where you don't
get tested. Now, that test may come against Michigan, or
(52:06):
it may come somewhere else, but they will be tested
at some point in time. It's not a matter of if.
It is a matter of win. And if they don't
get tested until the college football playoffs, they will not
win the national championship. I promise you that. I promise
you that. Now we went over Georgia Mississippi State, but
(52:32):
I want to go over that for just a second again,
because Gunner Stockton eighteen for twenty nine two sixty four
three touchdowns, and they absolutely shut Mississippi State down so
much so that they had to switch ter quarterbacks. And Georgia,
whose running game has been really intermittent all year, had
(52:54):
three hundred and three yards. It seems like Georgia is
starting to click. And it's funny because Oregon fans are
starting to sound to me like Alabama and Georgia fans
they're starting to sound like them in terms of they
are not yeah that they are not a team that
(53:20):
is just fully going in all the right direction, and
their fans are getting frustrated. Their fans are getting frustrated.
Oh I'm glad y'all brought up USC in the chat.
And this Georgia team, I believe that they're really good
and that they are a they're going to be a threat,
(53:43):
and it seems like they're They're a team that appears
to be peaking at the right time. And Oregon meets
them in the college football playoffs, that is going to
be Dan Lanning's masterpiece if he can beat Kirby. Kirby smart,
because think about how long it took Kirby to beat
Nick Saban and it was basically for a natty opportunity,
(54:04):
and then you would have Dan Lanning getting a chance
to play Georgia for a natty opportunity. Oh oh, you
couldn't script it any better. All right. Now, for all
the Oregon fans who joined in, I went over everything
at first, but I'm actually gonna hit this Oregon game
again because we've been on for fifty four minutes and
(54:26):
so and just like anything else, we gotta bring it back.
So we just watched the Oregon Ducks win what is
at Iowa number nine versus number twenty and what is
one of the best wins in recent Oregon history, and
The reason why it's one of the best wins is
(54:47):
because you have Harky right starting right tackle out oh
and shout out to Wilson kid came in. He wasn't
perfect today, but he was really good. He was physical,
he finished blocks. You could not have asked him to
do any better. In relief, Harkey out a first round
(55:08):
tight end and Kenyon sadik At a mauler in the
run game out Decoryan Moore out. What more could you
and then you lose Gary Bryant Junior at the beginning
of the game. Evan Stewart is out of oh, and
(55:31):
then you got Grisham is out, and so is Kyler Casper.
All these dudes are out. Wait wait, actually, kat Casper
might have been back today either Roadway like so much
so that you got Cooper Perry playing. Jeremiah McClellan is playing,
(55:51):
and yes he usually plays, but there's a difference in
being the number three guy and going shooting all the
way up the depth chart to number one real quick
or number two. Malik Benson played really well. Even Justice Lowe,
who we hadn't seen in a while, came in and
did some big things. And to go in and win
(56:12):
a game eighteen to sixteen in Kinnick. When you are
shorthanded in bad weather, with down so many players, hostile environment,
the world is against you, and you go out there
and you perform like this against one of the best
(56:32):
defenses in the country and show that you actually have
a better defense. Think about that Oregon rushed for in
this game. They did what everybody thought that Iowa was
gonna do to Oregon. If if somebody had told you that,
here would be the stat lines after the game for
(56:54):
the rushing yards thirty six for two sixty one seven
point three yards carry in a touchdown and forty three
carries one hundred and one yards two point three yards
to carry in a touchdown. Everybody, even some of you
Oregon fans, would have said, oh man, that means that
(57:16):
Oregon lost. They got ran all over by Iowa. It
was the other way around. That's a level of physicality
and power that signals that your team is where it
needs to be, that your team is special. And while
(57:38):
every think about how many fans, As the leader of
the Oregon group, I've been trying to tell you, relax,
this is the new era of college football. You don't
have to be playing your best in November. You gotta
be playing your best in December. You just gotta find
a way to win games. And Dante more today showed
(57:59):
he got dawn in his heart. Before that last drive,
they the camera payed at his eyes, and I was
talking to Michael Bumpus and Mike Mike Yam because I
was doing the studio show today for c W. I
was like, is that is that the look of a
killer right now? Is that the look of a of
(58:20):
a of the of a man with a dog in him?
We gonna see. And he went out there, cool, calm
and collected, delivering the ball accurately. Now, I did not
like the pace at which Oregon was executing that that
two minute drive. I do think if Dan Lanning has
any weak spot or or or just you know, something
(58:42):
that needs to improve or will Stein, what would be
will Stein because he's if such coordinator, but but but
the head coach is over, it would be the pace
at two minute play and when you call timeouts and
when you don't call timeouts. It worked in the second
half and the first half it did not work. I mean, shit,
I got your field field goal, so I mean I
guess it worked, but the goal should have been a touchdown.
(59:05):
But this defense Jerry Mixon Junior and Tatum to Eyot
I thought were fan freakingtastic today. I could not, under
any circumstances asked for those two dudes to play any better.
And then the narrative was run at Matteo and he
was physical at the point of attack. He didn't get
(59:27):
pushed pushed off. Now, the pass rush was a little
bit lacking today today, but that's hard because they do
a lot of max protect when they're going to pass
or they also moved, moved the pocket and they do
some different things. I didn't like two dudes getting dropped
in the secondary, especially on third down. And Dan is
(59:49):
not going to love that because this game could have
been a two score win, which is what I predicted.
But to win a national championship, you gotta be able
to win more moments like this, whether it's this year,
next year, year year after. These kids have been in
big moments and people wonder, oh, it's ken it gonna
be too big from some of these kids have been
(01:00:12):
to the Shoe, They've been to Penn State, they played
in the Big Ten Championship, they played in the Rose Bowl.
How How was Kennick like, no shade there? How is
Kennick going to be too big for them? Now? Now
I was team though, Mark Gronowski did a great job.
He did exactly what he is. He's a he's a
(01:00:34):
you know, he's a fullback playing quarter quarterback. And he
did his thing. And but Iowa fans, y'all deserve better,
y'all deserving offense, man, y'all deserving offense. You deserve to
be able to compete for a Big ten championship, to
compete for a national championship. But you can't and you
(01:00:56):
won't as long as Kirk Farnce refuses to play play offense.
But I love that Iowa fans have embraced their team
and the way that they played. But that ain't gonna
be good enough. I'm sorry, hate to be the bear
of bad bad news. Noah Whittington had the game of
(01:01:17):
his life today, seventeen carriage, hundred and eighteen yards. Kid
was just showed up biggest in the moment that he needed. Yep,
all right, Oh ooh, let me hop in the chat,
Oh Kyle chaos? What the hell is going on over there? So? First,
first of all, wake Forest beat yeah, wake Forest beat
(01:01:40):
Virginia sixteen to nine. Morris got knocked out of the
game their starting quarterback, and Daniel Kaylin ended up having
to come in. He went eighteen for twenty eight for
one forty five. But Oregon former quarterback Robbie ash Ford
today seven for sixteen forty six yards and then eleven
(01:02:01):
for fifty seven yards rushing as well, and then Deshaun Party,
their other quarterback, went two for seven for eighteen yards. Now,
Jake Dicker, can you please put Steve Pozzella in the game. Please,
for the love of God, he's your best quarterback right now.
But I know that you're winning right now, you got
(01:02:23):
six six wins. You keep playing this struggle fast football.
Put the kid in. I know he's a true freshman.
But your team will improve. In Virginia, the ACC just
can't catch a break in terms of like there was
a path to where the ACC could have got multiple
teams in the College football Playoff. That is not happening.
(01:02:44):
Now They're gonna get the one team and that is
going to be it cause you have Louisville ranked fourteenth
right now, Virginia's gonna fall and Louisville is in a
dogfight with Cal. Right now, that game just went into overtime,
(01:03:05):
so we'll see how that shakes out, because you can't
be going to overtime with Cal. Oh And on a
side note for the ACC, did anybody know that Miami
that Miami is talking about that they are going to
go all out in the transfer portal for a quarterback?
(01:03:27):
And I was like, didn't you always didn't you already
go all out for a quarterback last year with Carson Beck?
So then I got to thinking who are the quarterbacks
that they might go after? And if I were desperate
for a quarterback, the team that I would go after, Well,
(01:03:48):
the quarterback that I would go after would be Jaron
keewe site Well actually first would be Darrin Menza from
from Duke Kid has over twenty touchdowns, only two two
picks on the season. He has been phenomenal, phenomenal, So
I'm going to go with Darien Mensa first. Then Jaron
(01:04:10):
Kiwi Sa Sagapool Telly from Cal. He's gonna I don't
believe the Cal is gonna be able to keep him
after the season. Somebody's gonna offer him that Darien Mensa money,
that four million dollars. I would go after Drew mess
the maker from UH from North Texas. I would call him.
(01:04:30):
I would check on him to see how he's feeling.
I would check on his temperature. Who else would I
look look at. I would look at hm hm oh,
Josh Hoover at TCU, Brendan Soresby at Cincinnati, and I
would I would go look at the short king the
(01:04:52):
demand Williams at Washington. That's who I would look at.
If I were trying to quote unquote go all in
for a quarterback next year, that is exactly where I
would go. Those are the choices that I would make
if I were Miami and them wanting to go all
in in the portal for next year. Louisville is up
(01:05:15):
twenty six twenty three, and Cal has the football because
they kick the field goal. Isaac Brown, Louisville's star running back,
is outright right now, so that may be impacting the game.
Alabama and LSU seventeen to nine. That games still going
crazy with eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter.
(01:05:36):
We might make it to the end of that. We
may not let me see any other Oh, Miami one day,
thirty eight to ten over Sarah over Syrahcu speaking of them,
that was a crazy game in terms of like Miami
has been struggling, they're having a crisis of confidence, and
(01:05:56):
when you look at the ACC standings, I don't even
know who's gonna end up in the championship game at
this point point in time, because Virginia had already lost
the NC State But I don't think that that was
a yeah, that that was a conference game. But now
they've lost to Wake Forest, which now put puts them
(01:06:19):
in a different situation. Oh wait, no, no, no, no, no,
that the North Carolina State game was not a conference game.
I think, Yeah, it's confusing over there in the ACC.
But now you're looking at a situation where Georgia Tech
(01:06:39):
and Pitt and then Louisville, Like, it's gonna be hard
to make a long story short, it's gonna be very
difficult for Miami to get back into the uh the
ACC race. That's gonna be very very difficult for them.
They won thirty eight to ten, but Syracuse is starting
(01:06:59):
to try freshman at quarterback. Yeah, this is this is
no chance that this was gonna go go well. The
last oh Cal is at the six yard line second
in goal. And then you got, oh Washington, Wisconsin. Y'all,
(01:07:21):
y'all here, Washington lost to Wisconsin thirteen to ten. I
put Washington on upset alert. And the reason why I
put Washington on upset alert because remember Washington fans after
they were ranked this week, they were like, oh, man,
there's a path to ten and two. We can make
(01:07:42):
the college football playoffs. Don't every team say that? But
it's like that they weren't watching their their team. This
is not a college football playoff team. It's not oh
my god, at LSU benched. LSU benched Nussmeyer. And for
(01:08:04):
Oregon fans, you will remember this name, Michael van van
Buren is in the kid that was committed to Oregon
and ended up going to Mississippi State and then he
transferred to LSU. But back to this Washington with Wisconsin game.
The weather was atrocious in this game. Washington was up
(01:08:26):
ten to three at halftime. Wisconsin scored ten points in
the third quarter and won the game thirteen to ten.
For some reason, since Jed Fish has been there, Washington
cannot go on the road and win. They are awful
going on the road and winning. This has not worked
(01:08:48):
at all. This is exactly why I put them on
upset alert, because if you can't win on the road,
you can't win championships. You can't. They barely beat Maryland,
they lost to Michigan, they lost to Wisconsin, and then
going back to last year, they had troubles and they
(01:09:10):
still got to go on the road to u c.
L A. The ke to beating Washington is stop Demand
Williams from running the football all over the place. Jonah
Koman got hurt in the game, I think because he
only had five carries for two yards. Adam Muhammad twelve
carries for fifty four yards, but Demon Williams had nineteen
(01:09:33):
carries himself for sixty one yards. Because Wisconsin's defense and
remember everybody was sitting here poo poo in Oregon about
about Wisconsin. But Wisconsin's defense is really good. And you
saw what they did here. And what they did is
they they played three different quarterbacks Hunter Simmons, Carter Smith,
(01:10:01):
and Danny O'Neill. They were combined including number ninety one
of them comes. I think that's the punter Sam West, Like,
if you take away the kicker, excuse me, if you
take away the kicker throwing the twenty four yard past.
They were five for seventeen for twenty four yards as
(01:10:23):
a quarterback group. That's it. And the weather was awful.
There was windy, the rain and the snow was coming
in sideways. But this is why your physicality matters. And
Oregon's physicality traveled and Washington's physicality is not traveling right now.
(01:10:45):
You can have Denzel Boston, you can have Desmond Roebuck,
you can have all of these dudes. But unless you
are able to but unless you are able to line
up and do the Marshawn Lynn run through a mofo's
face over and over and over and over again, you're
not gonna be able to win big time football games.
(01:11:09):
And if you want to win a championship, you gotta
be able to win big time football games. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Iowa fans in Wisconsin fans, they did get the the
the win that they were well, the weather that they
were looking for today, but alas it did not matter.
(01:11:32):
What the hell's going on? What is going on in
the Cow? Wait is the is the Cow Louisville game over?
Because it says that this is weird? Oh no, Cow
won touchdown pass saccapoo Telly to uh Raphael for three yards.
(01:11:55):
Game over, down goes Louisville. Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.
The ACC just gets that more convoluted, because now Miami
is three and two, Louisville is fourign two, but still
ahead of Miami. S some userhead a, yeah, yeah, Miami
(01:12:20):
an't gonna be able to get get back in this
college fotball playoff without some major league help, major league help.
All right, let me see what else we miss this
Alabama LSU game seventeen to nine. Oh my god, Lis,
you almost just had a chance to get a pick.
(01:12:41):
Oh man, college football is crazy. And honestly, think about
all the people who have been complaining about nil, they've
been complaining about the transfer portal, they can have been
complained about everything else about college football. And truthfully, college
(01:13:01):
football is better than it has ever been. We are
sitting here watching amazing stuff, amazing stuff, and I love it.
Oh wait, I thought Ryan Williams was not playing today. Okay,
all right, yeah, we're It's never been been better and
(01:13:23):
you guys can hop in. Oh somebody said Jks should
have should have stayed with Oregon. No, see, I don't
think so. I do not think that that. Jaron Kewsycopo
would tell you that he should have stayed with Oregon
because he is now getting the opportunity to play, he's
(01:13:45):
getting experience, and wherever he's playing at next year, he's
going to number one, he's gonna make a mind and
number two is going to be way better. So I
don't know where he's at next year year. I would
probably doubt that it's at Cal because this game may
(01:14:06):
have been the thing that gets that keeps Justin Wilcox
employed there. But we shall see. Oh if Alabama makes
this feel oh yeah, yeah, this game is a burrito
Alabama twenty, LSU nine five to go into game and
(01:14:30):
LSU hasn't been able to move the thing. Yeah, and
Dante Moore is going to be back at Oregon next
year as as well. I told everybody this on Scoop
Scoop Doug and on Twitter as well. The kid will
be back for next year. So y'all can just book
that and watch that as well. All Right, what else
(01:14:55):
did I do? Let me see what else I missed
you guys. If I missed anything from today, let me
go on the note see if I missed anything because
I want to make sure I covered everything. See, everybody's
looking forward to Oregon's team next next year. Why are
(01:15:17):
we looking forward to that next year? This team is
good right right now. Bama doesn't look very intimidating to me,
struggled to be a shite LSU team. I've told you
everybody in college football now is vulnerable. There is nobody
(01:15:38):
in college football that is not vulnerable right now. Oregon
is vulnerable. Indiana you saw today they had to squeak
one out. Texas A and M is vulnerable. Texas techas vulnerable.
They've lost, Alabama lost to Florida State. Yes, they're vulnerable,
and you're watching them now against LSU. Georgia is vulnerable.
(01:16:01):
Oregon's vulnerable. You have Notre Dame has lost twice. They
lost to Miami in Texay and HM, of course they're vulnerable.
Texas is. There is no team right now that is
not vulnerable, maybe except Ohio State, but they haven't just
run into their thing yet. And nil is the great
equalizer in college football. And honestly, I love it. People
(01:16:23):
are mad because text saying it, because Texas Tech is
probably gonna have the number one recruiting class in twenty
twenty seven. I don't see no problem with it. You
know who cares? Oh, you have a lot of teams
who cares. Georgia is to Alabama's Oh my god, I
(01:16:46):
forgot one topic that I gotta talk about, and I'm
going to make sure that I cliped this in its
own individual thing. Let's go back to yesterday. Let's go
back to yesterday. Let's go to USC versus and that
bush league ish that noted that USC did versus Northwestern
(01:17:10):
USC is apt the Lincoln Riley. What he did with
that fake punt was gross and it was bush league
and it was illegal. So let's break it, break it down,
because I'm going to actually show you this clip.
Speaker 2 (01:17:31):
Oh oh, hold on, put this thing quick, man.
Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
It made me so mad. And then USC fans acting
like it was cool was even worse. Like that honestly
was the worst part about it. Okay, here we go.
That was actually the worst part about it. Let's go
(01:18:08):
to this clip from yesterday. Okay, so y'all see this right.
Let's start it at the beginning. So you had USC's punter,
what we thought was USC's punter, throwing the ball to
(01:18:30):
a wide receiver for a first down. All right, and
then we find out a little bit later that the
punter is Sam Hewart, and USC put Sam Hewart in
number eighty, the same number as the actual punter, and
(01:18:51):
put him out there. So USC people so desperate, though, George,
you're in Oregon a Homer year. That's why you hate us. No,
it's because this is bush League. And the reason why
Bush League is because USC they knew so as a
member of the media. They put out a media guide
(01:19:15):
essentially every single week for every single game. Hewart is
listed at number as number seven in every single thing.
Number seven in the thing. Now, granted they did change it,
and on the thing that you get in the press
box he is listed as number eighty. But the rule says,
(01:19:39):
and here's where a little bit of complication lies is
the rule about numbers. There are double numbers in college
football because most teams have over one hundred players, they
have some retired numbers as well, and players on offense
and defense will have the same number. Okay, and then
they just can't on the field at the same time,
(01:20:01):
which most people adhere to pretty pretty easily. If not,
it's a fifteen yard penalty now, but we will we
will see some sometimes where there is a double number
that needs to be on the field on special teams especially,
and they'll put like a big jersey on them and
all this stuff. Well, they brought Sam Hewett out in
(01:20:23):
number eighty, and USC fans are like, well, that's that's
not illegal. He's listed on the on the chart as that,
and if and their fans need to be I'm sorry,
their coaches need to be more aware of what the
hell's going on. It's their for no. The rule states
(01:20:44):
that in addition to if you change your number and
then you come in the game, that you have to report.
But that's not the situation that us he was in
because he's listed on the on the chart. The issue
is is that you can't have people in the same
number playing the same position. Well, George Hewett's a quarterback.
(01:21:06):
He was lined up at punter. The punter is number eighty.
You have two skinny, tall, white guys who look exactly alike.
And we were like, well, they should know the difference.
How the hell can you know the difference. It's a
it's a tall, skinny white kid running out there at
number eighty. You can't get a good look at his
face like that, And don't even know what the kid
(01:21:26):
looks like anyway, hein't even played so USC fans. Yes,
it was garbage, Lincoln Riley. That was weak. It should
have been a fifteen yard penalty. And it wasn't cool.
It was it was whack. And you did it against Northwestern.
(01:21:47):
It'd be different if you did it against Oregon and desperation,
but you did it against Northwestern. What are we doing?
You are big bad USC. This is the same thing
that don't allow that. That type of thing is exactly
why he don't want to play Notre Dame no more.
It's too difficult, it's too hard, it's it's this is
(01:22:09):
that get some cohonas man and but there is nothing
wrong with gamesmanship. There's nothing wrong with trick plays, there's
nothing wrong with on side kicks, none of that. But
that that's below board. That that is weak as hell.
And I'm sorry, Lincoln, Lincoln Riley, if you see this,
(01:22:30):
somebody needs to tell you. Somebody needs to tell you.
Come on, man, Yes, us he won last last night.
I don't even care that that they are won. No,
he was not. Yes, he was legally listed. He was
(01:22:52):
legally listed, but he should not be. But he was
not able to go in at punter. You will see
the league come out out and talk about it this
this week. There will be a rule about it, all
of this stuff because this was an improper use and
the refs missed it. Come on, man, it's it's it's
(01:23:18):
it's a whack. It's whack. And USC who who fans
who are defending it? Because many were up on my
on my timeline talking about how weak it was and agreeing.
Just because you're on somebody's side, that doesn't mean that
you have to agree when they do stuff that's weak
(01:23:40):
and whack. You can say, nah, man, I'm not, I'm not,
I'm not with that. Just say it. You don't have
to go along with it. If Dan Lanning did it,
I would have said the exact same thing. It would
have been whack. If Dan Lanning did it. USC fans,
(01:24:02):
come on, man, don't just co sign anything. You know
it was weak. But anyways, though, yeah, the yeah, yeah,
this Alabama game is over and you know, and we're
about done here too. This was a great week of
(01:24:23):
college for football. We got amazing stuff. Oregon State still on.
They're gonna beat up Sam Houston State and that's it.
