Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome into Unbreakable Mental Health podcast with Jay Lazer. I'm
Jay Glazier and this is a special Veterans Day weekend motivation.
But before I get to that, if you're like many people,
you'll be surprised to learn that one in five adults
in this country experience mental illness last year. Get far
too many fail to receive the support they need. Cherl
in Behavior Ell is doing something about it. They understand
that behavior health is a key part of whole health,

(00:21):
delivering compassionate care that treats physical, mental, emotional, and social
leads in tandem. Cheryl in Behavior l raising the quality
of life through empathy and action. All right, Welcome into Unbreakable,
a special Veterans Day mental health motivation weekday motivation for
all our veterans out there. Veterans Day is a holiday

(00:42):
for you. What are we doing on holidays we celebrate? Now?
I know for so many of you it's ingrained in
you not to celebrate yourself, but our veterans out there,
you deserve it. If anybody deserves it, it's you. So
for this Veterans Day, give yourself a break, give yourself
permission to celebrate yourself. Love yourself, up. This is a day,

(01:06):
a weekend, a week to honor you. It should be
obviously every day, but this dam in particular, allow yourself
to celebrate and be proud of what you've done. Proud.
So this Veteran's Day, think about something you're proud of.
Whether it's something you did for a brother or sister
that you served with, or something you did to help

(01:28):
save someone, or just being proud of yourself that you
went through the process. You look in football and fighting,
our teams are great, but nothing like the US military.
That is the best team in the world. So be
proud of that. Celebrate your brothers and your sisters, Celebrate
what you've done, allow yourself to pick yourself up. And
like I said, I know it's a difficult thing because

(01:50):
our veterans it's been almost taught don't talk about it
and don't break about it. In sports, there's a lot
of breading going on. I think it was Matt Ryan
once said, it ain't bragging if any it ain't bragging
if it's true. So our veterans instead of being a
lot of times they come back home here and instead

(02:11):
of saying, you know, I've done this and this and
this overseas, think that they should be proud of if
grace under fire and courage under pressure, and they've saved
people and they've been there for others. Also they've gone overseas,
so a lot of us don't have to go overseas
too credible what you've all done. But too often they
come back and they don't allow themselves to grace, to
celebrate themselves or be proud of things that they've done.

(02:34):
So this Veterans Day, I'm asking you ask yourself, Okay,
what have I done to be proud of? I know
there's something I'm gonna give myself permission to be proud.
I want to allow myself to pick myself up and
be proud and celebrate this holiday that is for you.
Just keep walking this walk together
