About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
A unicorn in New Jersey. Nay Mabel was skipping through
the park when she heard a strange sound over by
the sides of the playground. It sounded like a horse's
nae mixed with a pretty twinkle of wind chimes, and
it made her think of warm breezes and sunshine. Being
a curious young lady, Mabel headed towards the big blue

(00:24):
slide to investigate. Nay, she heard it again, louder this time.
She peeked through the twisty tube slide and saw the
swish of sparkly rainbow hair. Mabel gasped, could it be? Excitedly,
Mabel jumped around to the other side of the slide,
she was greeted with a sparkly, glittery, rainbow haired real

(00:45):
life unicorn. She stared in awe as the unicorn flicked
her shiny tail, casting rainbows across the ground. She admired
the rainbow's sparkly pink coat. She gasped at the unicorn's
glittery golden horn. Hey, I mean hello there, Would you
mind telling me where I am? The unicorn witted at Mabel.

(01:08):
Mabel is still amazed that there was a real unicorn
standing in front of her. You're a unicorn. Well, yes,
that's true, but I also seem to be lost. There
are no children in the Unicorn verse. The what Mabel
jumped up with excitement. There's a whole universe of unicorns. Yes,

(01:31):
so I take it. I have definitely left the Unicorn verse,
the unicorn said, mostly to herself. She sprayed some glitter
out of her horn to try to gain Mabel's attention
to her questions. My name is Sprinkle's Nike Glitterhorn, but
you can call me sprink Can you please tell me
where I am? The shower of glitter sparked Mabel's attention.
You're in New Jersey, sprink and it is definitely not

(01:53):
in the Unicorn verse. Oh no, oh, no, no, no,
repeated Sprinkles the unicorn. She began to pace back and
forth while rainbow shined off of her. No, sprink It'll
be okay. My name's Mabel. You can stay with me.
We can be best friends, best friends, asked Sprinkles. Feeling
a bit better, Yeah, follow me. Sprinkles followed Mabel around

(02:17):
the playground as they went down the sides, swung on
the swings, and played tag with the other kids. Sprinkles
laughed and played along with Mabel forgetting about being lost.
Isn't this fun? Sprink Mabel shouted back to the unicorn
as they played. An ice cream truck pulled up to
the playground. Come on, let's go get some ice cream,
called Mabel. She waved for Sprinkles to follow her as

(02:40):
she ran toward the music from the truck. Mabel ordered
an orange creamsicle, but when it was Sprinkle's turn, she
didn't recognize any of the ice cream flavors. Um, do
you have any rainbow bursties Rainbow woodies, asked the ice
cream lady. What about a sprinkle cloud Sunday? Sprink tried,

(03:00):
we have hot fudge Sundays, offered the confused ice cream lady. Uh. Sure,
I'll take one of those, sprink sided, suddenly remembering that
she was no longer in the Unicorn verse. Mabel and
Sprinkle sat in the grass eating their ice cream. Isn't
it great? Mabel asked the unicorn. Actually yes, replied Sprinkles.

(03:22):
She shook her mane and rainbow sprinkle scattered on top
of her ice cream. Mabel laughed and hugged the unicorn.
This is so great, I can't wait to show you
my room. Maybe we can get bunk beds. I wonder
if unicorns are allowed to go to school. Sprinkle stopped her. Mabel.
I have had so much fun with you today, and

(03:43):
I'm so happy we became friends. But I really missed
my home. I have to go back, oh, said Mabel,
a bit disappointed. I understand, how did you end up
here in the first place. Well, I was practicing my
unicorn wishes and unicorn's grant wishes. Mabel shrieked, unable to

(04:03):
control herself at this news. Yes, of course, they are
very rare and special, though not like those genies who
give them out to everybody. These are only given on
special occasions to special people, so we need to practice them.
I was practicing mine when my mom came in and
told me to clean my stable. I didn't want to,
so I got upset, and I accidentally wished that I

(04:26):
didn't have to clean my stable anymore. Next thing I
knew I was here. That must have been scary, Mabel said,
putting her arm around Sprinkles. I definitely wish that I
didn't have to clean my room anymore. Good thing, I
don't have any wish powers. Mabel gave a reassuring smile
to the unicorn. So how do you get back home?

(04:48):
Can you walk there? I wish? Sighed Sprinkles. Mabel jumped
to her feet and pointed at her unicorn friend. Wish what?
Sprinkles was confused? Wish make a wish that you can
go home? And that's it, Sprinkle shouted, jumping up to
But Mabel, can you make the wish? I don't know

(05:09):
if I can grant myself another wish, and I think
you meet the requirements for being granted a unicorn wish.
Mabel was curious. What are they well? To get a
unicorn wish, you have to be three things. The first
is kind, and you have been so kind playing with
me today. The second is a good friend, and you've
been such a good friend to me today. Sprinkle stopped

(05:32):
and sighed. What's the third, prodded Mabel. The third is
you must really want what you're wishing for. So I
don't know if it'll work. Oh, Sprinkles, I don't want
you to go, but even more than that, I don't
want you to be sad. I will miss you, but
I know you need to go back to the unicorn
verse and Before Sprinkles could say anything else, Mabel shouted,

(05:57):
I wish for Sprinkles to go home to the Unicorn Verse.
Rainbows began swirling around the two friends. Golden pink sparkles
sprinkled down over them. It's working, exclaimed the Unicorn You
did it. Thank you. Goodbye, Sprinkles. Please come back again
to play with me. I will oh, thank you, Mabel,

(06:17):
and with a poof of pink clouds, Sprinkles was gone,
whushed back to the Unicorn Verse by her new friend Mabel,
