About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Immerse your little ones in a soothing auditory experience, designed to transport them to a world of calm and wonder at bedtime. Speaker 1 (00:04):
A unicorn mission.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
One morning, Ray was eating her double berry and chocolate
chip pancakes when she looked out the kitchen window and
saw that it had finally stopped raining. Yes, cheered to
relieve Ray. It had been raining so much for so long,
she thought she would never get to play outside again.
Ray dropped her fork with a loud ding, hopped up

(00:28):
out of her seat, and ran to put her rain
boots on. She raised out the door and stomped in
the first puddle she saw splash. Ray giggled and looked
around for the next puddle to pounce in. That's when
she saw it. Pouring down through the white, fluffy clouds
was the most radiant rainbow she had ever seen.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Ray stared at it in awe, but then she noticed
something else. There was something moving up by the clouds.
It was shining through. That's strange. It looked like it
was walking down the rainbow. It's a bird, it's a plane. No,
it's a unicorn.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Hello, we need the unicorn. What a lovely day. Ray
just stared with her mouth open. She couldn't believe her eyes.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
A unicorn had just walked down a rainbow into her yard.
Sorry to disturb your puddle jumping. Don't stop on my account.
I am just here on important unicorn business. The unicorn
trotted right past a flabbergasted Ray and toward the backyard gate. Wait,
shouted Ray, turning and following the unicorn. Where are you going? Really,

(01:39):
it's top secret. I must get going. I need to
return before the rainbow disappears. And with that, the unicorn
leaped over the gate, leaving Ray's yard. Ray sprinted to
the gate and pulled open the latch. She needed to
know where the unicorn was going. It's not every day
a unicorn.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Waltzes into your yard off a rainbow. What if she
never saw it again? Unicorn, unicorn, come back, Ray called
out onto the sidewalk.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
She searched the street and spotted a stream of glitter
coating the sidewalk ahead. She followed it up the block
and caught sight of a swishing silver tail turning in
the corner. Ray rushed around the corner and almost collided.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
With the unicorn's leg.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
It had stopped to sniff some flowers. Oh hello again,
exclaimed the unicorn.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I really do love flowers.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
The unicorn pulled them off with her teeth and placed
them in a bag hanging over her back, before turning
to trot away, Wait, shouted Ray.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Where are you going? Can I come with you?

Speaker 2 (02:38):
The unicorn stopped thinking a moment. Well, yes, I don't
see why not, but I am on a very secret
mission and we really must hurry.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Hop on up.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
And with that, the unicorn grabbed ray shirt and tossed
her up onto her shimmery white back. Ray marveled at
the unicorn sparkles and how the sun and the unicorn's
silver remain cast tiny rainbows all around. This is way
better than jumping in puddles, Ray thought out loud. The
unicorn trotted in a town, still not telling Ray where

(03:09):
they were going.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
They passed the.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
School, post office, and supermarket. Ah here we are, said
in excited unicorn, and she walked right through the automatic
doors and into Target. You came here for Target, asked
to confuse Ray. Oh, yes, responded the unicorn. We don't
have any of these where I'm from. The unicorn searched

(03:34):
the aisles as people stopped and stared. Like Ray, they
were all too stunned to speak. The unicorn spotted an
employee in a red vest.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Where are your pinatas.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
The employee stared wide eyed and pointed, uh, aisle five.
Thank you so much, replied the unicorn, and she sent
a shower of glitter over the employee to thank them.
Over Aisle five, the unicorn grabbed a taco pinata, rainbow
plates and superhero napkins, passing them all to Ray with

(04:06):
her mouth as she went. Perfect, cried the unicorn with glee.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Just perfect.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
She galloped her way to the register, spraining the cashier
with green confetti, and then continuing.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Out the door.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
I don't think that's how you pay for things, Ray
told the unicorn.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Sure it is. I see people pay with green paper
all the time. She winnied back to Ray. She picked
up speed and galloped back down the street.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Ray held on as the unicorns sped back through town,
down the sidewalk and toward Ray's backyard. She hopped back
over the gate and stopped. I know what your secret
mission is for, Ray told the unicorn. The unicorn gasped,
you do how Who told you? Ray laughed, no one,
But it's obviously a birthday party.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Look at all the things you bought.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Wow, you're so smart, the unicorn asked again. But it's
a surprise so don't tell anyone. Would you like to come?
She added, Ray was so excited. Really, of course, she shouted.
The unicorn winned in response, Okay, hold on tight. Ray
held on tight. As the unicorn went up, up, up

(05:19):
the side of the rainbow. She stopped when they reached
the clouds. There were unicorns everywhere. Who's the surprise party for,
Ray asked.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
The unicorn beamed it's for me, surprise.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I don't think that's how surprise parties were, answered Ray,
sure it is.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
You were surprised, And then the unicorn called.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Out to all the others, Hey, everyone, welcome to my
surprise party. All the unicorns cheered and sprayed glitter of
every color into the air.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Ray laughed and hopped down, dancing and singing with the unicorns.
It was the best surprise party she had ever been to.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
