About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Mister Shark's dog breath. Macy the Unicorn and Scout the
Dog were an unlikely duo. Macy was a unique unicorn
with a shimmery black coat and aquamarine hair that blew
like it was floating in a gentle breeze at all times.
People sighed in admiration whenever she glided by. Scout was

(00:25):
a common canine with scruffy brown and gray fur that
looked like it was being knotted in a rough windstorm
at all times, people sighed in sympathy whenever he trampled by.
Despite their differences, the two were the very best of friends,
and today those friends were headed to the beach. Not
a clad in sight, Macy winny to Scout, what a

(00:47):
perfect beach day. They were crossing the street toward the ocean.
Scout hopped up on Macy's back to get a better look.
And no waves, they can float around in our sweem's
all day. Scout howled happily into the blue sky. The
friends frolicked onto the golden sand and found the perfect
spot to put their towels and toys. Macy sparkled and

(01:09):
shimmered as the sunshine reflected off of her Scout rolled
and got sand stuck in his snarley for immediately, race
you to the water, Scout asked, Macy, you're on, she replied,
Scout began the countdown on your mark. Get set. Boom

(01:29):
thunder clapped overhead. Dark clouds rushed to cover the sun,
and a big rain drop plopped onto Scout. Snout PLoP, No,
not rain, Scout, wind, what happened to the blue sky?
Another boom of thunder rumbled across the beach, this time

(01:50):
followed by a crack of lightning. They saw a sheet
of rain sweeping its way up from the ocean. But
I put my floaties on. Scout was bummed. It's okay, Scout,
It's probably just a quick summer storm. Macie tried to
reassure her frowny friend. But come under the umbrella before
the rain turns you into a stinky, wet dog. As

(02:11):
soon as Macie and Scout were huddled under the umbrella together,
the clouds released buckets of rain directly above them. Maybe
we can just wait out the storm, the unicorn hoped out.
Loud lightning was sparkling all across the beach now, and
the waveless ocean was now choppy and angry. Big waves
swelled and broke closer and closer to the friends spot

(02:32):
on the beach. Ohooh, hal, Scott, look at that wave.
A towering wall of ocean water was speeding toward them
faster than they could move. But that wasn't the worst part.
Under the surface, a menacing shadow was swimming laps. The
unicorn and dog both caught sight of the scary fin

(02:53):
protruding from the top of the wave at the same time, Shark.
They cried in unison. The wave crashed over them, sweeping
them up into the ocean water and straight into the
shark's open mouth. Gulp. Oh my, spluttered mister shark. I
really need to stop swimming with my mouth open. That
was a most unpleasant fish. His tummy gurgled unhappily. But

(03:18):
that was no fish in his tummy. He swallowed us whole,
exclaimed Scout in disbelief. What do we do, help nade
Macy let us out. Mister shark was startled by the
voices Hello. He spun around. Hello, did someone call for help?

(03:39):
I don't see anybody, mister shark thought to himself. He coughed,
My heavens, that fish will not wash down. His voice
boomed inside where Macy and Scout were hanging on, trying
not to slip down any further. He heard us. Macy,
Scout yipped, we're in here. Macy shouted as loud as

(04:00):
she could, where responded, mister shark, you sound so close,
but I can't see you. He coughed again, still trying
to clear his throat of that terrible taste. That's because
you swallowed us. Macy yelled back, jumping jellyfish. You taste
most unpleasant, was mister Shark's reply. Then he added, I'll

(04:23):
get help. Hold on on shore. Two kids named Sienna
and Spencer were strolling by the water in search of
seashells after the quick summer storm. Mister Shark spotted them
and zoomed straight for them. Sienna was just about to
grab a shiny shell when he popped up beside her.
Sharp screamed, Sienna, greeting's little human. Mister Shark showed off

(04:47):
his big toothy grin to try and calm her. Ah.
Now Spencer was screaming too. Don't be afraid, I'm not
here to eat you. I already accidentally ate someone today
to someone's Scout yelled up to mister shark. Mister shark
corrected himself to someone's that's why I'm here. I need

(05:10):
your help. The two kids stopped screaming. But how can
we help, asked Spencer. Well, they seem to be stuck
in my throat. I've tried coughing, but they just stay there,
and they taste most unpleasant, I might add, like wet
dog with a hen of sparkles. Sienna scanned the beach
for ideas. She spotted a seagull feather and picked it up.

(05:33):
I've got just the thing. She wiggled the feather right
on mister Shark's nose. Huh uh at you. Mister shark
sneezed the most powerful sneeze, catapulting the dog in Unicorn
up his throat, out of his menacing mouth, and right
back onto the beach. I see where the bad taste

(05:55):
came from, said Sienna, shaking her head sympathetically at Scout Unicorn.
Spencer stared in admiration. Mister Shark's sighed in relief. So
sorry about all that, he shouted before he swam away.
Scout and Macy collapsed onto the wet sand, exhausted from
their shark encounter. Want to build a sand castle with us,

(06:17):
asked Sienna. I think we've had enough of the beach today,
replied the two friends
