About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello friends, it's mister Jim and welcome back to Kids
Animal Stories. Today we are going to hear part two
of Selah's adventure about becoming a rainbow unicorn. Oh no,
last time she got stuck in a giant storm and
crashed down on the land and fell asleep. I hope

(00:24):
she's okay. Are you guys ready for today's adventure? Me too.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
As Selah picked her head off of the sandy ground,
she looked around. She could hear the ocean crashing with
big waves next to her, but she did not know
where she was. She looked around and saw that she
was surrounded by crabs. Ah, she did not like crabs.

(01:02):
Please don't hurt me. Don't pinch me. Me me me, me, me,
me me me me. We ain't won't pinch you. We
are trying to help you, said one of the crabs. Oh,
they're actually nice crabs. They were protecting her while she
was asleep. The crabs were completely surrounding her to keep
off anyone that wanted to hurt her. Wow, thank you

(01:24):
so much, mister crabs. Oh you're welcome. Selah tried to
get up, but oh, she was pretty sore. She stretched
her body, her legs and her wings. Oh no, I'm
gonna be late. They gotta hurry and get to that mountain.

(01:44):
She tried to fly away, but as she lifted her
wings up ow. Oh they must have gotten hurt as
she crashed down on that sandy beach. What am I
gonna do? I have to get to that mountain fast. Hello, uh,
mister crabs, could you help me? Do you know anyone
on this place anywhere near here that could help my

(02:08):
my sore wings? I need to fly, but they hurt
too much. I mean me. Yes, you should go and
see doctor Barnacle. Hey, z Ah, he lives up there,
Doctor Barnacle. Oh, thank you so much, said Selah as
she hurried away. She followed the crabs that you know,
they pointed in a certain direction, and so she started

(02:30):
running that way as fast as possible. But who is
doctor Barnacle? What do you think doctor Barnacle would look like? Hmm,
I don't know. But pretty soon she realized that she
was on an island in the middle of who knows where,
but it was completely surrounded by the ocean. As she
followed the trail that the crabs sent her on to

(02:53):
find doctor Barnacle. Her mind started to raise. Oh no,
I hope, I hope I'm able to paint the rain
in time. I hope it's not late, and I hope
I don't mess it up. Oh, that would just be
the worst thing ever if I did the rainbow wrong.
Pretty soon, that trail led her all the way to
the top, and there was a goat standing there. How

(03:21):
can I help you? Hi, I'm actually looking for a doctor.
He goes by the name doctor Barnacle. Have you seen
him around here? My wings are hurting. I really need helping.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Oh, of course I'm doctor Barnacle. Come on over.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Seila was very confused. She was not expecting a goat
to one be on this island but also be the
doctor named Barnacle. Oh, thank you very much. Are you
you're you're really doctor Barnacle.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Oh of course, I've lived on this island of very
long time, and I've helped many, many creatures of what
seems to be the problem.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Oh well, that's good to hear. You. See, I'm a
unicorn and I'm trying to get to this magical mountain,
and I got caught up in that storm last night,
and I think it hurt my wings. I don't know
what to do.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Oh, come on over, let me take a look.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Said doctor Barnacle. Doctor Barnacle grabbed his glasses and put
them on his face and squinted his eyes. You ever
seen a goat squint their eyes before? Goats are pretty silly.
He had a long beard. He looked very old. He's
probably helped a lot of creatures before.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Oh, I see the problem. Just hold on real tight.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Doctor Barnacle walked into the forest. Sailah was a little
confused and wondered if doctor Barnacle would just be walking
away and if she would ever see him again. Oh,
here it is, said doctor Barnacle. He was holding a
plant in his mouth and was walking back towards her.

(05:16):
What kind of plant is that, said say, I've never
had this kind of medicine before. Oh, don't you worry,
said doctor Barnacle. You see, he had some kind of
magical plant that would help take away the pain in
her wings and make them work just beautifully. Selah laid

(05:37):
down on the ground and doctor Barnacle took the plant
and squeezed this juice out of the leaves, and as
the juice dripped onto her wings. Uh, it's what in
the world is in that. Immediately her wings felt perfect,

(05:57):
there was no pain, and she could move them very well.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
What do you think did that help them a little bit?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Said doctor Barnacle. Absolutely, this is the greatest. Wow. Thank
you so much, doctor Barnacle. I really have to get going.
Do you know the mountain that I'm talking about? Do
you know which direction it is? Hmmm?

Speaker 3 (06:20):
I probably have been there before. Yes, I think the
one that you're looking for is east. You should fly
east of here and it will bring you there, eh.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Said doctor Barnacle. Okay, thank you so much. I gotta
get going. As Sailah lifted her wings to fly off,
she was amazed at how there was no longer any
more pain, Her wings had been healed, and now she
could fly towards the mountain. But is she gonna run

(06:55):
out of time? Is the paint still going to be there?
And is she going to be able to make a
rainbow without making any mistakes? I don't know, but we're
gonna have to wait and see what happens on the
next episode.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
The end.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Wow, great job, you listened all the way to the end,
and holy smokes, that is a pretty cool goat. That
lives on that island. Doctor Barnacle. Hmmm, I wonder if
I can find his number and get that recipe of
that magical plant that he used, because, oh, my shoulder
kind of hurts a little bit. Maybe I could use

(07:39):
a little bit of that special plant juice. Well, friends,
I hope you have a super duper day and I
will see you on your next adventure. Bye.
