so obviously he's the only unsigned draft pick second round
draft pick running back drafted out of Ohio State. He's
yet to be signed. Isaiah Bond he got cleared and

he's looking to sign with the Cleveland Browns. To bring
people up to date on the situation, quin Shawn Jenkins
was charged, I believe with domestic violence assaulting his female friend. Obviously,
he's not gonna face charges because if I'm correct, the

charges and when she filed him were way after the incident.

They don't know.

If she quote unquote harmed herself or kind of doctor
to pictures to make it look more than what it was.
And then Isaiah Bond, I believe, was charged with rape
and obviously that was dropped and Isaiah Bond was at

Alabama transferred to Texas. One of the fastest receivers that
he plays fast. He ran four to four at the combine,
which is extremely fast, but he plays fast. I believe
he was like ten four hundred meters in high school.

He didn't get drafted because of the incident. Came out
before the draft, so obviously that cost him thousands of
dollars for sure, possibly millions.

Problem that we are we as athletes are happening, and

it's like, what are you doing?

I mean, listen, we just had this whole conversation last
week with this whole should carry richardson, you know incident,
and you know in the airport and you know it's
it's no life man. You know, things happen. But I
do know that the fact that the charges was dropped

on them for Isaiah Bonn, it doesn't mean that the
NFL is not going to discipline him or suspend him.

So I do believe that they will.

There will be some consequences even though the charges will dropped.
You don't know what you know. Roger Goodell in the
league is going to do. Maybe the team might impose
a you know, a team mandated you know, suspension or

that you know, all of these things went away and
he was undrafted, he lost a lot of bridge. I mean,
he lost millions of dollars because of this whole thing.
And now that you know the Chargers are dropped or
dismissed or whatever the case may be, they you can't

undo it. That's that's the unfortunate thing about him, you know, uh,
you know, moving forward, But listen, young man can play football,
you know, hopefully, you know, he can put this behind
him and you know, uh, you know, get to where
he wants to in his career.

The Browns or whoever what they're still waiting to see
if the NFL is going to discipline him. Uh you know,
moving forward, I think that there will be some consequences.

say we, you and I everybody listening. Nobody really knows
what takes place in these situations, with the exception of
the people that are present. And if you are a
man and you are putting your hands on a woman,

you're a coward. You you you need to you shouldn't
even be able to play in the league. You're done.
And if you are a man and you are forcing
a woman to do something that she doesn't want to do,
you're also a coward. You shouldn't be allowed to play.

We're physically so much stronger than a woman. You don't
even put yourself in that position. But then on the
flip side of that, some of these cases are they
are You're not gonna be with me anymore, so I'm
gonna say you did this to me, or you're not

talking to me anymore, so I'm gonna say you forced
me to do this.

When these cases and charges are dropped, that means a
prosecution they don't feel like they have any type evidence
or they can convict them. They don't feel like the
victims were completely honest. That's what I get from that.
And so to me, if you're talking Isaiah Bond, it's ah,

this came out before the draft, he would have been drafted.
This prevented him from being drafted, which ultimately cost him
millions of dollars. And if he didn't do nothing to
that young lady, that's wrong. That's wrong. That's wrong. Like

and if he and if he did something to her,
he shouldn't be allowed to play. Guys like to me,
when you get a slap on a risk, you feel
like it's exactly what it is, a slap on a risk,
and you gotta start putting some policies in place.

Oh the next guy like, oh, I ain't going down there.
I'm not even putting myself in this situation. But also
the accusers, if you're lying, why aren't you facing consequences?
You cost me millions, you possibly ruin my career. Why
aren't you facing some type of consequences for your actions?

That's the thing, And that's Isaiah Bond because I don't
know a lot about either case because I wasn't there.
Just what you read, what you hear, what's been reported.
And Quen Schein Jenkins like, you can't put yourself in
these positions.

You're a good athlete, you're a public figure. Whether you're
an athlete or not, you're a public figure. You can't
put yourself in a position. Everybody loses their temper. Don't
put your hands on a woman. We've said this, I've

You can't do it. If your temper is getting the

best of you, better take a deep breath, walk away,
turn your back, go to other direction you have to,
because you're gonna run into somebody.

incident down in the South where a guy was putting
his hands on a woman. She called her brother, and
her brother handled the situation. Somebody lost her life over it.
That could have been avoided. That could have been avoided.

those things. Man, you got brothers, you got uncles, you
got fathers, you got family members that they not playing
about that when it comes to touching the women in
their family, they not playing about that.

of it, don't be bitter because you realize the relationship
is coming to an end and you're gonna make false accusations.
And if you are gonna make false accusations and now

know the truth. Only people that really know what happened
are the people that are involved in that situation. And
again I say that as a father of three daughters.
Like my kids know, don't you ever touch your man

you back. It's just I don't know. I wish them
dudes the best of luck as they go down this
path of being a professional athlete in the NFL. The

I'm with y'all. If them dudes really did what you
I'm with y'all with that because I can't empathize with you,
but I understand what you feel like you've gone through.

gets a chance. Hopefully these dudes learned their lesson. If
they didn't do what they were accused of, and if
no charges are going to be brought, I'm saying they

that means they didn't do what you said, and they
need to say the consequences for that.

The NCAA, to me, they'll never get it right, I

the SEC. Those are the conferences. The ACC they have
a few good teams, the Big twelve will have a
few good teams, but for the most part, it's the
SEC and the Big Ten when it comes to football
that dominate the sport. Why do you need n c

you twenty million? What do you need the NCAA for?
They can't the Big ten ton CC and the conferences
can't come up with something like why do you need
the nc double A? What do they actually do that's helpful?

full of dream. You're taking a pay cut. They gonna
give you reparations for that. They're gonna give you back pay.
Of course there they aren't. And so I don't like it,
especially considering Sharrum. He's already been suspended, and I believe
that twenty million dollar fine is unprecedented. We haven't seen
anything of that nature. Man, It's so it did. If

would be the consequences if Michigan decided, you know, we're
not paying that fine, We're not giving you twenty million dollars.

of dreaded the preseason a little bit as a player.

And so so you used to get your little ten plate,
were gonna get a ten play drive or first quarter
or second quarter or whatever the case may be. But man,
once you're out there playing ball, ball is ball. And
you know, I think for some of a lot of
these young players, I think that you know, I'm looking

at the whole Zach Taylor situation with with the Cincinnati
Bengals and the starts that they have gotten off to
in the first month of the season, and I think
they recognize that, Listen, we've been losing, you know, two
or three games to start the season, and they want
to get off to get off to a better start,
because there's no way that Joe Burrow is supposed to
(35:50):
be throwing for almost five thousand yards and these guys
ain't making it to the playoffs. So I really do
believe that a lot of these young guys need reps.
The NFL is not college by any stretch of imagination.
If you think you can just walk onto an NFL
football field and dominate, if you are a great play.
(36:11):
In college, it normally doesn't happen like that that way.
I mean, you can, you know, look at a few
of them, Randy Moss and you know, guys of that nature,
but you just don't walk onto an NFL football field
and and and just dominate their whole entire game. So
(36:34):
I think a lot of these guys need to get
more reps, I really do. You know, it's a learning process, man,
to be able to you know, understand this game, understand situations, uh,
you know, and taking pride in your craft and and
being healthy and all of those things. But I would
like to see these young guys play a little bit more,
(36:56):
not just you know, when the season starts, they putting
them out there for you know, fifty sixty plays. You know,
you come off of college football field and you haven't
tackled anybody, and what, I don't know, six seven months.
I just don't see how that you know, this this
new wave of coaches you know, translates you know to
(37:19):
the NFL, because you know, the first month of football
for me is sloppy. Guys haven't tackled anybody. It hasn't
been any any you know, real true football, you know,
contact as far as the starters are concerned. But I
just believe that, you know, you get on football field
and you ain't tackled nobody or hit the ground in
(37:41):
eight months, man, your body goes in the shop. So
I would like to see these young guys play. I think, uh,
like I said, Zach Tilor, he's recognized that and he's
putting the listen Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase. These guys
on the football field, they listen. I know that, George,
I know that Georgia Maal Chase, I know that you're
(38:03):
Joe Burrow. But we have to beat We have to
play football now to get ready for the regular season.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
The young guys, I'm all in favor of that. Get
a young guys, all the reps that can get that
is for sure. It's the the proven veterans or the
guys that have been playing. That to me is where
you straddle the fence. And it's really a gut when
(38:30):
when you're Zach Taylor and you've gotten off to bad starts,
you you must change things up. You can't keep doing
the same thing and expect a different result. Of we're
not playing our starters in preseason and you can't win
a game in September. You must change things up now.
(38:53):
The young guys, absolutely, they should be playing the bulk
of the games. And what you said early is so
oh true. Preseason games come around, you're like, man, I hope,
I only play a series. Like when we're playing, like, man,
I hope, I just play a series a hump one.
And then when the game start you like, oh, I
won't play now like and then when they take you nah,

but hey, when that game is getting ready to start,
you're like, man, I do not want to play. And
as soon as the game start, you're like, no, no, no,
let me play some more, let me, let me stay
in this. You don't want to come out because it's fun.
But you know it doesn't matter. You know everything you do,

the stats don't matter. That's why you have that mindset
for the listeners. You why wouldn't you want to play
because the stats don't matter.

Man, it's so crazy. We are playing the Detroit Lions.
Like the third preseason game. We come after halftime and
I catch like a skinny post on Dre and I
actually try to break a tackle and coach coach Kylell
called me to the sidelide. He said, if I see

you try to break another tackle, I'm taking you out
the game. Think about it, Think about how crazy that is.

Like I'm playing like that's instant, yes, instinct. If I
see you trying to break another tackle, I'm taking you
out of the game. I'm like, Doug, I'm playing football.
I mean, I don't know how not to play football.

It's the and I don't think people can understand that.
And it's for viewers listening, like once that game starts,
you don't want to come out. But prior to the game,
even the excitement, you don't have that excitement for a
preseason game that you have for a regular season game
once you've been in the league. Now, I'm sure the
young guys they're excited for that first preseason game because

it's their first opportunity on NFL helm in the NFL Jersey,
NFL action. For them, that's different. But when you've been
and you've played in some regular season games, it's just
that excitement isn't there. Man, It's so that's crazy, no excitement.
You don't want to play, But once that game starts, like,

the veterans.

To me, it's on a team by team, player by player,

We've talked about this last week, not this exact topic,
but where we're gonna go and you see what I'm
talking the Browns. Quinn Shawn Jenkins, he won't face charges,
so obviously he's the only unsigned draft pick second round
draft pick running back drafted out of Ohio State. He's
yet to be signed. Isaiah Bond he got cleared and
(01:55):
he's looking to sign with the Cleveland Browns. To bring
people up to date on the situation, quin Shawn Jenkins
was charged, I believe with domestic violence assaulting his female friend. Obviously,
he's not gonna face charges because if I'm correct, the
(02:16):
charges and when she filed him were way after the incident.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
They don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
If she quote unquote harmed herself or kind of doctor
to pictures to make it look more than what it was.
And then Isaiah Bond, I believe, was charged with rape
and obviously that was dropped and Isaiah Bond was at

Alabama transferred to Texas. One of the fastest receivers that
he plays fast. He ran four to four at the combine,
which is extremely fast, but he plays fast. I believe
he was like ten four hundred meters in high school.

That's rolling.

He didn't get drafted because of the incident. Came out
before the draft, so obviously that cost him thousands of
dollars for sure, possibly millions.

There's a lot to unpack with that.

We can go so many different what what are your
thoughts on just both of those guys obviously the same team.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
But the.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Problem that we are we as athletes are happening, and
it happens. It doesn't happen often, but when it does happen,
it's like, what are you doing?
Speaker 4 (03:34):
I mean, listen, we just had this whole conversation last
week with this whole should carry richardson, you know incident,
and you know in the airport and you know it's
it's no life man. You know, things happen. But I
do know that the fact that the charges was dropped
(03:56):
on them for Isaiah Bonn, it doesn't mean that the
NFL is not going to discipline him or suspend him.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
So I do believe that they will.

There will be some consequences even though the charges will dropped.
You don't know what you know. Roger Goodell in the
league is going to do. Maybe the team might impose
a you know, a team mandated you know, suspension or
fine or whatever the case may be. But the fact

that you know, all of these things went away and
he was undrafted, he lost a lot of bridge. I mean,
he lost millions of dollars because of this whole thing.
And now that you know the Chargers are dropped or
dismissed or whatever the case may be, they you can't
(04:48):
undo it. That's that's the unfortunate thing about him, you know, uh,
you know, moving forward, But listen, young man can play football,
you know, hopefully, you know, he can put this behind
him and you know, uh, you know, get to where
he wants to in his career.

But I think, uh, you know.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
The Browns or whoever what they're still waiting to see
if the NFL is going to discipline him. Uh you know,
moving forward, I think that there will be some consequences.

This is the thing is we we don't and I
say we, you and I everybody listening. Nobody really knows
what takes place in these situations, with the exception of
the people that are present. And if you are a
man and you are putting your hands on a woman,

you're a coward. You you you need to you shouldn't
even be able to play in the league. You're done.
And if you are a man and you are forcing
a woman to do something that she doesn't want to do,
you're also a coward. You shouldn't be allowed to play.

We're physically so much stronger than a woman. You don't
even put yourself in that position. But then on the
flip side of that, some of these cases are they
are You're not gonna be with me anymore, so I'm
gonna say you did this to me, or you're not
(06:33):
talking to me anymore, so I'm gonna say you forced
me to do this.

I just feel like.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
When these cases and charges are dropped, that means a
prosecution they don't feel like they have any type evidence
or they can convict them. They don't feel like the
victims were completely honest. That's what I get from that.
And so to me, if you're talking Isaiah Bond, it's ah,
(07:09):
this came out before the draft, he would have been drafted.
This prevented him from being drafted, which ultimately cost him
millions of dollars. And if he didn't do nothing to
that young lady, that's wrong. That's wrong. That's wrong. Like
(07:33):
and if he and if he did something to her,
he shouldn't be allowed to play. Guys like to me,
when you get a slap on a risk, you feel
like it's exactly what it is, a slap on a risk,
and you gotta start putting some policies in place.

To where.

Oh the next guy like, oh, I ain't going down there.
I'm not even putting myself in this situation. But also
the accusers, if you're lying, why aren't you facing consequences?
You cost me millions, you possibly ruin my career. Why
aren't you facing some type of consequences for your actions?

That's the thing, And that's Isaiah Bond because I don't
know a lot about either case because I wasn't there.
Just what you read, what you hear, what's been reported.
And Quen Schein Jenkins like, you can't put yourself in
these positions.

Man, When when.

You're a good athlete, you're a public figure. Whether you're
an athlete or not, you're a public figure. You can't
put yourself in a position. Everybody loses their temper. Don't
put your hands on a woman. We've said this, I've
said this plenty of times. We said this last week.
You can't do it. If your temper is getting the

best of you, better take a deep breath, walk away,
turn your back, go to other direction you have to,
because you're gonna run into somebody.

Cases on.

TV that I read a ton and it was an
incident down in the South where a guy was putting
his hands on a woman. She called her brother, and
her brother handled the situation. Somebody lost her life over it.
That could have been avoided. That could have been avoided.

And so it's just when you start to get to
those things. Man, you got brothers, you got uncles, you
got fathers, you got family members that they not playing
about that when it comes to touching the women in
their family, they not playing about that.

Don't do it.

But on the fleet, yeah, but on the flip side
of it, don't be bitter because you realize the relationship
is coming to an end and you're gonna make false accusations.
And if you are gonna make false accusations and now
you're costing guys millions of dollars, you need to face
the consequences of making these false accusations. And I think

that's something that nobody ever talks about because we don't
know the truth. Only people that really know what happened
are the people that are involved in that situation. And
again I say that as a father of three daughters.
Like my kids know, don't you ever touch your man

because we're physically so much stronger. Don't touch him. And
if you do touch him, I hope he don't touch
you back. It's just I don't know. I wish them
dudes the best of luck as they go down this
path of being a professional athlete in the NFL. The
young ladies that are involved in a situation, I wish

them the best of luck. And if these things are true,
I'm with y'all. If them dudes really did what you
I'm with y'all with that because I can't empathize with you,
but I understand what you feel like you've gone through.
But man, Isaiah, by that case, dude, he was going

to be drafted second third round at worst, undrafted. He
gets a chance. Hopefully these dudes learned their lesson. If
they didn't do what they were accused of, and if
no charges are going to be brought, I'm saying they
didn't do what they were accused of Shame on them

ladies for doing what they did, because if there's no charges,
that means they didn't do what you said, and they
need to say the consequences for that.

involved in this, in this, in this whole thing. And
you know, ten games a lot, So I don't think.

that has happened and all the time that he missed. Man,
that's a lot of football, uh, you know, being missed.

games with the NFL Personal conduct policy, But ten games
is a lot. And listen, we all know what Kansas
City is on the brink of. They are motivated to
get back to the super Bowl and win this thing.

a wide receiver. So hopefully, you know, the NFL, you know,
let's just man, know, get back on the football field.
But he is guilty of two femally charges in a
hot speed you know, multi car accident. So hopefully he

gets five or seven games, But ten is a.

Lot, man, ten games. Ten games feel like you messing
the whole.

That's a tough first month of the season. And so
again I don't understand the were gonna let you play
and then suspends you when the case was resolved months ago.

Some precedented and it must be a lot going on
in the league office. The people they have handling these decisions,
they must be extremely busy. I don't know is going
to South president. I wish Rashie Rice the best, But
I know that that first month of the season for

the Kansas City Chiefs, coming off of loss in the
Super Bowl to the Eagles, that might be the That
might be the hardest four games if any team in
the league to start the season. It really might be
the Giants first four. Do you think it's the toughest
toughest schedule in the league. Man, Ain't nobody playing the
Chargers of Eagles, Ravens out the gate. That's three Super

Bowl contenders in the first four games. That's tough, like
we gonna see, especially coming off of Super Bowl loss.

a six to that thing lead at Philadelphia with three
thirteen left to play in the first quarter on a
four yard touchdown run by Amani Marshall. Rookie third round
pick Dylan Gabriel making his preseason debut and led a
thirteen play sixty three yard touchdown drive leading to marshall score.
Gabriel converted three third downs on the drive he started,

completing his first four passes for twenty nine yards. The
England Patriots with a seven to dozing lead at Minnesota
with four to twenty left to play in the first
quarter on an eight yard touchdown run by rookie Traveon Henderson,

for a touchdown last week against the Washington Commanders, who

today removed star receiver Terry McLaurin from the physically unable
to perform list. McLaurin of the Commanders remain, however, at
a contract dispute. Finally, in college football, multiple outlets reported
today that the Big Ten Conference is floating an idea
to expand the college football playoff to as many as
twenty four or twenty eight teams, coupled with the elimination

of conference championship games.

Yeah, the Big Ten doing big dumb things flexic. That's

Searon Moore will be suspended. I believe two more games
after already being suspended. Why is more being suspended? We

program what we reprimanded and.

Received consequences for what he did, and he bailed. That's

was an assistant coach at the time. So now he
has to take the blame and suffer a suspension because

of what Harball done to the university.

And that ain't right. Even I don't like Michigan at all,

a guy that went to Michigan State.

on him, and he bailed on He bailed on those
kids in it and in that program, which is not fair.
And now Sharon Moore is is of suffering the cons
consequences for something that he had nothing to do with.

And his foule and and Harvall won't step up in
front of the mic or get behind the podium and say,
you know what, it was my fault and they shouldn't
be suffering the consequences for something that I did and
he ran from it, and now it's coming down on

the university, UH, coach Moore and these kids for something
that he had nothing to do with it.

Do you know why why is this the case that
Sharon More is being spended when Plexico is right, Harbaugh
was a head coach? Why why is that is it
because he's now the head coach? That to me is
the million dollar question. It makes why I mean because

he was suspended. He If I'm not mistaken, I believe
Sharon Moore has already been suspended. I thought it was
three to four games and the comeback and be suspended
two more games, And you're right. Normally the guy in
charge faces the most consequences. And we are as a
head coach. We know why Harball left, you know. I

mean I'm gonna say that because he had a great opportunity,
That's what I'm saying, and just.

Lead after winning the national championship.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Yeah, he got his Alma minter back on top and
now I'm gonna go to the highest level. That that's
why he left. No, he didn't put.

What's happening to the universities right now, that's why he left.
Make no mistake about it.

I mean the way the NCAA operates, man, I will
never understand. And you find them twenty million dollars for
years and years and years you never wanted to play,
I mean, pay the players that make the game of
college football what it is. Never never wanted to pay them.
And then once they started to get paid, you wanted

some rules put in place. Well, you could have put
all these rules in place yourself if you wasn't being greedy.
The NCAA, to me, they'll never get it right, I
just don't. I don't understand this, and I've always said this,
the two best conferences. It used to be three, but
(29:48):
now it's D two. It's the Big ten and it's
the SEC. Those are the conferences. The ACC they have
a few good teams, the Big twelve will have a
few good teams, but for the most part, it's the
SEC and the Big Ten when it comes to football
that dominate the sport. Why do you need n c

A A, Really, why you need them? They gonna find
you twenty million? What do you need the NCAA for?
They can't the Big ten ton CC and the conferences
can't come up with something like why do you need
the nc double A? What do they actually do that's helpful?
What do they do? I have no idea? Like to
(30:34):
me that is, I get it. We don't want teams
and programs stealing signs. And you know what I say
to that, Hey man, you gotta get a little more
discreete and the signs you give, get a little more
to screete with it. You better get the baseball. You
(30:58):
better have an indicator. You gotta have indicator, something like
I'm gonna give you a bunch of signs and then
when I hit this that's indicator. Everything after that is
the actual play. Like, but okay, if you consider that
wrong and they cheated, okay, But there's so many things
that the NCAA should act on and they don't. And

then when the players are getting paid all this money,
they want to put parameters around it and want some
rules and regulations when we didn't get Imagine how much
money yourself would have made being the first round pick
one of the best treats in college football. LaVar would
have made all four years making millions. Hey, you think
(31:45):
to the lead, you go into the draft of a
full of dream. You're taking a pay cut. They gonna
give you reparations for that. They're gonna give you back pay.
Of course there they aren't. And so I don't like it,
especially considering Sharrum. He's already been suspended, and I believe
that twenty million dollar fine is unprecedented. We haven't seen
anything of that nature. Man, It's so it did. If
(32:10):
I'm Michigan, I'm not paying What do you know what
would be the consequences if Michigan decided, you know, we're
not paying that fine, We're not giving you twenty million dollars.
Speaker 4 (32:19):
Could they how they enforce that control that I'm not sure.
I'm not sure. Maybe it comes out of TV rights
or whatever the case may be. But if I don't
think they have to struggle with twenty million dollar check,
I just the NCAA will find their way around, you know,

being paid for this fine.

So that's what I believe. Yeah, I don't know what

First preseason game, you're gonna play a series or two.
Second preseason game, you for sure playing in the first quarter.
You're probably gonna get into the second quarter. Third preseason game,
you're going to series after halftime. But justin Herbert is

playing in the preseason, Joe Burrow played in the preseason.
Do you like that? Are we starting to see a
change of gods playing in the preseason and do you
like it?
Speaker 3 (34:50):
Dislike it? What are your thoughts?
Speaker 4 (34:54):
To be honest with you, man, you know you kind
of dreaded the preseason a little bit as a player.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Oh man, did you not a little bit? You know?
Speaker 4 (35:06):
But once you got out on a football field, and
he was good to go, you know what I mean.
And so so you used to get your little ten plate,
were gonna get a ten play drive or first quarter
or second quarter or whatever the case may be. But man,
once you're out there playing ball, ball is ball. And
you know, I think for some of a lot of
these young players, I think that you know, I'm looking
(35:28):
at the whole Zach Taylor situation with with the Cincinnati
Bengals and the starts that they have gotten off to
in the first month of the season, and I think
they recognize that, Listen, we've been losing, you know, two
or three games to start the season, and they want
to get off to get off to a better start,
because there's no way that Joe Burrow is supposed to
(35:50):
be throwing for almost five thousand yards and these guys
ain't making it to the playoffs. So I really do
believe that a lot of these young guys need reps.
The NFL is not college by any stretch of imagination.
If you think you can just walk onto an NFL
football field and dominate, if you are a great play.
(36:11):
In college, it normally doesn't happen like that that way.
I mean, you can, you know, look at a few
of them, Randy Moss and you know, guys of that nature,
but you just don't walk onto an NFL football field
and and and just dominate their whole entire game. So
(36:34):
I think a lot of these guys need to get
more reps, I really do. You know, it's a learning process, man,
to be able to you know, understand this game, understand situations, uh,
you know, and taking pride in your craft and and
being healthy and all of those things. But I would
like to see these young guys play a little bit more,
(36:56):
not just you know, when the season starts, they putting
them out there for you know, fifty sixty plays. You know,
you come off of college football field and you haven't
tackled anybody, and what, I don't know, six seven months.
I just don't see how that you know, this this
new wave of coaches you know, translates you know to
(37:19):
the NFL, because you know, the first month of football
for me is sloppy. Guys haven't tackled anybody. It hasn't
been any any you know, real true football, you know,
contact as far as the starters are concerned. But I
just believe that, you know, you get on football field
and you ain't tackled nobody or hit the ground in
(37:41):
eight months, man, your body goes in the shop. So
I would like to see these young guys play. I think, uh,
like I said, Zach Tilor, he's recognized that and he's
putting the listen Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase. These guys
on the football field, they listen. I know that, George,
I know that Georgia Maal Chase, I know that you're
(38:03):
Joe Burrow. But we have to beat We have to
play football now to get ready for the regular season.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
The young guys, I'm all in favor of that. Get
a young guys, all the reps that can get that
is for sure. It's the the proven veterans or the
guys that have been playing. That to me is where
you straddle the fence. And it's really a gut when
(38:30):
when you're Zach Taylor and you've gotten off to bad starts,
you you must change things up. You can't keep doing
the same thing and expect a different result. Of we're
not playing our starters in preseason and you can't win
a game in September. You must change things up now.
(38:53):
The young guys, absolutely, they should be playing the bulk
of the games. And what you said early is so
oh true. Preseason games come around, you're like, man, I hope,
I only play a series. Like when we're playing, like, man,
I hope, I just play a series a hump one.
And then when the game start you like, oh, I
won't play now like and then when they take you nah,
(39:16):
but hey, when that game is getting ready to start,
you're like, man, I do not want to play. And
as soon as the game start, you're like, no, no, no,
let me play some more, let me, let me stay
in this. You don't want to come out because it's fun.
But you know it doesn't matter. You know everything you do,
(39:36):
the stats don't matter. That's why you have that mindset
for the listeners. You why wouldn't you want to play
because the stats don't matter.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
Man, it's so crazy. We are playing the Detroit Lions.
Like the third preseason game. We come after halftime and
I catch like a skinny post on Dre and I
actually try to break a tackle and coach coach Kylell
called me to the sidelide. He said, if I see
(40:06):
you try to break another tackle, I'm taking you out
the game. Think about it, Think about how crazy that is.
Speaker 3 (40:15):
Like I'm playing like that's instant, yes, instinct. If I
see you trying to break another tackle, I'm taking you
out of the game. I'm like, Doug, I'm playing football.
I mean, I don't know how not to play football.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
It's the and I don't think people can understand that.
And it's for viewers listening, like once that game starts,
you don't want to come out. But prior to the game,
even the excitement, you don't have that excitement for a
preseason game that you have for a regular season game
once you've been in the league. Now, I'm sure the
young guys they're excited for that first preseason game because
(40:50):
it's their first opportunity on NFL helm in the NFL Jersey,
NFL action. For them, that's different. But when you've been
and you've played in some regular season games, it's just
that excitement isn't there. Man, It's so that's crazy, no excitement.
You don't want to play, But once that game starts, like,
let me finish this because it's so fun.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
But I think you're right. Guys do need to play
the veterans.
Speaker 2 (41:16):
To me, it's on a team by team, player by player,
coach by coach, situation and what they deem to be
right for their team.
Speaker 3 (41:27):
Who knows.

Will the Bengals get off to a great start If
a guy has injury, that's the main player they're gonna
go back to. Were not playing nobody else in the preseason. Nope,
we not playing nobody else. Hopefully that does not happen.
