Speaker 5 (02:17):
Fellas some somber news I'm gonna ask you all how
y'all doing. But some somber news man, we lose one
of the goats of goats, one of them that are
connected to There's always a you know, two sides to
every amazing sports story, and Muhammad Ali's other side to
the story was George Foreman. In my opinion, some may

(02:39):
say Joe Fraser, but hey, there was a trinity there
for some you know, for some of us. He passes
away at seventy six, didn't want to wait to send
out our condolences to his family and props to Helm
and hell him up. Just give me a quick memory
of a big joy George Man for one of y'all.

(03:01):
And did he impact you the way he impacted a
lot of people. I mean, dude also did it with
the grill, you know, made the form and grill and
invented that and went really.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Cool with that.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
So anyway, passes away at seventy six, much respect due
to him.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Just a quick thought on him.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I mean for me personally, obviously, condolences to his family.
I'm a huge boxing fan, huge and so I never
met George Foreman personally, I you know, never been around him.
But with me being a huge boxing fan, I just
remember man when he came back, I believe in his

(03:39):
forties to fight. He wanted to be the oldest heavyweight
champ of the world. He loses to holy Field, he
loses a Tommy Morrison, and then he beats Michael Moore
at forty five, and that was crazy because Michael Moore
had beaten, if I'm not mistaken, holy.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Field Vander Holyfield.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
For the IBF title and then forming a jab right
down the middle back to back and dropped him and
oldest heavyweight champ still to this day, you know, in
the history of the sport, that to me is what
I remembering. And then obviously, you know, younger people made

(04:18):
noime because of the George Foreman grill and that right there,
always smiling, always with a smile on the space. All
his kids named George the Girls or George Genis, so
you know he was gonna make sure his name lived on.
May his family be blessed during this time. But yeah,
the oldest heavyweight champ of the world man at forty five,

(04:41):
and you're going against these young bucks and had the
resilience to I lose a holy Field in my forties,
I lose a Tommy Morrison in my forties, and then
I beat Michael More who beat Holyfield who I lost to.
So yes, rest in peace of George Forman.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
Oh Man definitely a big gloss man for uh, you know,
for the whole box of community and you know, every
in his family. I was sent out some sent out
some prayers and condolences to his daughter. I had an
opportunity to to know her and and how she just
spoke about you know, him as being you know, her
father and a and a person man. So uh, you know,

(05:20):
blessings to the family man and just said out my
present condolences.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
One of the other memories, of course, is when Big
George was bouncing you know, Joe Fraser off of the mat,
off of the mat one of them fights where you
knew that was going to be a serious, a serious
rumble between the two and and Big George was just
he was catching he was catching Fraser that day and

(05:48):
and was using him like a basketball on on the mat.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Now that's a long long time ago. And George.

Speaker 5 (05:57):
Back then, back around Dynamite been playing around. If you recall,
Fraser had just not Lee. Fraser had just beaten not Lee,
and yeah, I think I think if I'm Forming knocked
him out in the second round.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
It was cool long Dynamite.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Dynamite, Yeah, didn't take long and Joe Fraser had that
saving them five crackers and his ads too, so you
knew that was going to be a rumble. Man, he
will be sorely missed. But man, everybody doesn't get an
opportunity to leave a legacy quite like how Big George
Foreman did. Uh so thoughts and prayers to his family.
Didn't want to go any further in the show before

(06:36):
we sent us, you know, showed that that respect to
to one of the legends of sporting of boxing. But
it is March, and it is March, maddeness, and it
is underway, fellas. So the NCAA tournament, it's it's you know,
the round the thirty two? How you guys looking? Did
you do the bracket? Did you do the fox bracket?

(06:58):
I know y'all be doing it every year. Did y'all
do the break?

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Man?

Speaker 3 (07:00):
How you doing?

Speaker 2 (07:02):
I'm an idiot, man, So you know with this new update,
with this new update on the Apple phone and iPhone, like,
if I don't regularly email with somebody, all emails go
to my spam. So long story short, I didn't do it.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Did you do it?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
My final?

Speaker 1 (07:22):
None?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
None? And I'm angry because my but my final four
would have been du huh lose. Last year, Me and
Plex was neck and neck to the end. I know
you remember that. I know I don't neck and neck
Duke Duke Florida, Tennessee. One of them three teams are

(07:50):
gonna win it. I would have picked Duke of Florida
for sure to win it all. But one of those
three teams, in my opinion, would win it. I would
go with Duker or But man, you got to get
props mcne State. What hey, Will Wade as a hell
of a coach. Man. Will Wade was at LSU, had

(08:10):
them doing very well, gets fired because he was paying
the players. He was nil in it before nil.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Everybody else in basketball.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, he just got caught, gets fired. They
hire him at McNee state, and you know, he just
ushers in a nice little upset. Let's see if he
can go too for two. He's supposed to take the
NC State job here shortly. But Will Wade man that
that to me was a really good game by his

(08:42):
program of McNee State. Today we get the witness, two
legends go at it. And Rick Patino and John caler Perry,
two Italian coaches, very great coaches. And now Cali Perry
at Arkansas Patino at Saint John's Patinos team, they might
mean what it's when my son tells me Saint John's

(09:02):
has a chance to win it all, they're really you
will see if my son know what he's talking about.
Let's see.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Yeah, Man, it's always that you know, team that emerges,
you know during this time of the year. Man, and
I can see mc nick State and obviously Saint John's, uh,
you know, making a run deep into this tournament. And
I've always said, man, being here for the last you know,
two decades when Saint John's is went as playing a

(09:32):
winning brand of basketball.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Man, it's just good for.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
College basketball and his entirety because it's a it's a
it's a different feel, you know in the Northeast, especially uh,
you know they play all their home games that you
know at Madison Square Garden. You know that's electric. Everybody
knows how how the Knicks games are. But you know,
congrattive Tino man and getting this you know team back

(09:55):
to the tournament. I believe in twenty five years. I
mean that's that's a long time. I'm like, I think
that's back to the days of Ron our tests man
when when he was playing over the him LeVar post
of some of those guys.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Man, but you know, angrassing them.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
But we all know who the basketball genius Savannah is
when it comes to picking these teams. You know, I
have my Spartans, my Green and White Sparty go getting
all the way to the final four.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
He well, you all the way to the final four?
Stop all the way to final your bracket is busted.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Well, TJ, you don't have a bracket because your email
went to the spam.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
So but Florida, see y'all picking what y'all y'all picking
with y'all heart. I'm not sicking with my heart. I
will say this.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
I have my Spartans getting all the way to the
final four. Listen, I want my team to win a
national championship. But I had to get out of my
emotions because I'm you know, Florida is a better basketball
team than us. So I do have Florida beating us
in the final four, because that's just me.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
You mean the championship, the championship game.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
No, I got Florida winning the whole thing against Michigan
State is not making it to the final four.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
They are not making it to the.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
D's.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
It's not gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
I don't know, man, I just you know, I looked
at the I looked at this bracket differently this year
after looking at how scrutinized just a smaller version of
this bracket for the Football to College Football Playoff, and
I was like, man, like, there are some people that
there are some teams that have a better path to

(11:44):
getting to where they're trying to get to than the others.
And I think when I simulated it, Michigan State had
one of the better pathways to getting to forward than
the other than some of these other teams, and some
of that played a part and why I have them
getting there. Nonetheless, Izo is a beast. He knows how
to do it. He has his team playing really well,

(12:06):
and I you know, I think that they have a
very very nice pathway to getting where they're trying to
get to.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
I mean, what Iowa State or Ole miss to get to.

Speaker 5 (12:18):
The Sweet sixteen, right, I mean, now then they got
to see Arkansas or Saint John's most likely, right, if
that's going to be their hardest game all the way up.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
In Iowa State? Is Iowa State is a really good team.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
Okay, but Michigan State is a really good team. Like
you know what I mean. He said Iowa State is
a good team. That's fine, But Michigan State is a
really good team.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
They are, but I don't think they can beat Iowa State.
That's just you know, come on to my opinion now.
In years past, Yeah, Michigan State is always one of
the top programs in the country, no doubt that. But
they've been down, like they're.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Talking about there, having eight of our last nine, of
our last ten games we've won. I think that game,
that that loss that we had the Wisconsin was good
for us because it reset us because we had just
won eight games in a row.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
So what nine out of the last ten?

Speaker 4 (13:15):
And what he's saying is that we have the best
pathway of all of these teams to reach in the
final four. We're not saying that we're the best team
in the tournament. But if you look at Houston, you
look at Duke, you look at Florida, all those teams
that they have to get through and Tennessee to get
to the final four. What he's saying and what he's

(13:38):
trying to get through your head over there, that all
that nice, luxurious, shiny head that you got. Is that
team have the best chance out of all of these
teams from who we have to play against to get
to the final four.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Yeah, I would to agree with that, but hey, you know,
we'll see how it all plays out.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Will never know what TJ's picks were really truly o.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
August State, he.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Was in the spam so shots out the crew together
in all sports.

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Well, you're gonna get involved. I mean, now you are
a beaver.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
And speaking of you being a beaver, you were also
so uh uh Cincinnati Bengal and you know what on
the other side of the break, two superstar wide receivers
a duo much like you know o Cho and TJ.
You know, okay who Shin And yeah, you know that
guy A you know Chinko. All right, they were a duo.

(14:31):
We got the duo of these two and they just
got deals. We're gonna talk about that. On the other
side of break, it's up on Game C. J. Huschman
is out as Plexico Burgs. I'm Leavar Arrington. This is

have instant access to our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. Brothers,
the Cincinnati Bengals. They have done something that well seemingly

(15:38):
or maybe not but could be something that they generally
just don't do, and that's opened up them perse strings
and pay some cash to some of the players that
will are deserving of the pay that they have worked
so hard to get and to earn. Receiver duo, they

(15:59):
sign new deals with the team T Higgins Jamar Chase.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
They sign up.

Speaker 5 (16:05):
Now we all know that the Chase, the Jamar Chase
contract is legit, a lot of guaranteed money in there.
It's a legit contract. But T Higgins. While it sounds
like a very very large contract, I mean when you
cut through the fat of it and you check it

(16:27):
out at face value, there's really only something like what
like twenty million or something like that, tj at the
signing the bonus of it all, and then the rest
of it is based upon his playing time a large
part of it. But this really only looks like a
for real, for real like a one year deal because

(16:48):
there are no real guarantees outside of the signing bonus
that he's receiving or has received by now at this point,
what's your.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Take on it?

Speaker 5 (16:59):
Did you did you like the the you know, did
you like this these signings? Do you feel like this
is a step in the right direction for the Cincinnati Bengals?
How close did you look at it?

Speaker 2 (17:12):
I mean me personally, the Bengals have all they're gonna
always sign. They quarterback obviously, and they number one receiver,
so it was just a matter of time before Chase
got his deal. T Higgins. That's a different story. I
look at it as these are two dudes have earned

(17:33):
it and they received it. It's not like it was
given to them. These dudes went out there and had
to bust. They tails to earn his money. Who else
was the Bengals gonna give it to? Who else on
the team? Trey Hendrickson. They signed him as a free
agent from the Saints. They gave him at the time,
I thought when the Bengals when we signed Trey Hendrickson,

(17:54):
a great deal. Now now he's underpaid. Outside of signing
Trey Hendrickson's to extension, who else on that team has
earned a deal. So you got to pay somebody. Pay
the guys that have earned it. They've earned it. Now
when you talk about I think he got a great deal.
Could he have gotten more on an open market? Probably so, But.

Speaker 5 (18:11):
He could have got more off of just the franchise
tag too. That's not guarantee in terms of guarantees guaranteed money.
He would have got like what like twenty four off
of the tag. He gets like twenty or something to
that effect off of the signing bonus.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
He's making thirty million guaranteed from a roster bonus in
twenty four Yes.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
Guarantee, no no, no no, yes, his signing million.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Parents signing upon signing he's going to get.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
As a roster bonus in twenty twenty five, and twenty
twenty six, that is guaranteed. That's a thirty million dollar guarantee.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Yeah, but guarantees aren't guaranteed.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
And it's twenty twenty six, but no, those.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Are that's hidden because it's a roster bonus, meaning you
got to be on the roster. I think it's playing
time though if.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
I read he has like a two million dollar.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Per game, Yes, the per game if you're active, you
get to think me like one hundred and eighteen thousand
per game that he's active because he's been quote unquote hurt. Now,
the deal obviously is going to have some he.

Speaker 5 (19:13):
Has to be on the roster though he has to
be he's not going, okay.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Not on the roster. He has to be active, okay,
So yeah, so what's that on the forty six man roster.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
That's not a guarantee, Like it's a guarantee, but it's
not a guarantee.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
That's part is in a guarantee. But he still has
thirty million dollars in guarantees.

Speaker 5 (19:38):
Yeah, but but again, like it's it's the language of
it says it's guaranteed, but they actually it's not necessarily
guaranteed if he's not on the roster, right, if he's
not on the roster or not active roster.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Are you implying that if they cut him, he doesn't
get the money.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
Well, yes, that is what happens if he gets if
he's not on the roster, if he gets cut, he
doesn't get the money.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Into me, he's a member of the Cincinnati Bengals, He's
guaranteed to make money whether he's stand on the side line.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
But what makes that either.

Speaker 5 (20:11):
I agree with you, guys, But what makes that relevant?
Wouldn't you guys? Wouldn't you guys say? What makes that
relevant in this scenario is that T. Higgins has had
some some injuries that have kept him out. He's had
for extensive amounts of time. So if you're you're basically
you're hadging your back, you're saying, yeah, we're gonna give
you I've had I mean, I know I've had these

(20:32):
these clauses in my own contracts.

Speaker 3 (20:34):
I know what I'm talking about.

Speaker 5 (20:36):
If if for some strange reason, say T Higgins, he
has an injury that that holds him out and they
have success this year, do you think they're going to
bring T. Higgins back for the next season. Yes, I
don't think so amount of money that they're guaranteeing them.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
Yes, it gives them an out.

Speaker 3 (20:58):
It gives them an out.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
It will be Higgins will be playing for the Cincinnati
Bengals for the next four years. That's a guarantee. And
that's one thing about the Bengals. When they sign you
to very very rarely, you just go through the history
of the Cincinnati Bengals, very rarely do they release guys
when they sign them the deals unless you just flat
out garbage.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
That's garbage. I think it's about if he were to
get injured and he were.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
To miss and then when you injured that nobody can
be released with an injury.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
Yeah, but you can't. If you can, if you can
decide not to bring them back for the following season
and put.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
And you get paid for that. Nobody can get cut,
LeVar and not be paid if you don't get paid
for that.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
If you can get an injury settlement, you could get.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
A you know, LeVar, listen to what I telling you.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
I'm listening.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
If a guy is released and he cannot pass a
physical and you are released, that salary that you're going
to make, you're gonna make it not the bonus. Also,
they can release you if you're hurt. There's no injury settlement.
Whatever's on your contract guaranteed for injury only if you
see that in the contract, if you are hurt. He's

(22:10):
getting that money. We talking about him being hurt. He's
never roster bonus, he's never had a major injury. He's
had a little knickknacks. So I don't have a little
doubt in my mind. He's going to be an expert.

Speaker 5 (22:22):
I'm no contract expert, but I do disagree with what
you're saying right now, if.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
You listen now, because we're talking about this. As for Higgins,
he got thirty million fully guaranteed a signing that I
just have to look it up because I knew. I
knew I read it right the first time.

Speaker 5 (22:37):
It's not fully, it's not thirty fully, it's like twenty.
It's like twenty or something to that. Well, the it's
not a full thirty like I signed it. I'm getting
thirty million. That's not that's not well.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
I guess the NFL page is wrong because it says
as for Higgins, he got thirty fully guaranteed. That sounds
like it's fully guaranteed.

Speaker 4 (22:57):
Listen, I don't think that T Higgins would have signed
this deal if he thought that in any way, shape
or for him that it was a one year deal.
I believe that he could have went out on the
open market and got more money from another team. But
use he's playing with, He's playing with Joe Burrow and
Jamal Chase. Why would you want to leave that relationship,

(23:19):
that marriage, especially with Joe Burrow, who was arguably the
best quarterback in football, and go play somewhere else for
a few four or five or six million dollars more.
It doesn't make sense. But for me, the Bengals, I
think they they they compensated these guys. They earned the money,
just like TJ said, but I think they went about

(23:40):
it the wrong way. They could have paid T Higgins
two years ago, five years.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
When he was on a franchise tag.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
And now with the signing of these two guys, I
believe that Trey Henderson is gonna is going to be
the guy that's out of the look because out of
all three of these eyes, Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase and
T Higgins, out of two hundred and seventy nine million
dollars in the salary cap they take up one hundred
and twenty.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Four million, and that's just three players. So I don't
know what the same Cinnati bankers are going to.

Speaker 4 (24:09):
Do moving forward defensively, but they have to be able
to find a way to stop people on the other
side of the football. It's no it's no way in
the world which Joe Burrow should be throwing for them.
They're five thousand yards and they can't even get into
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
They need a defense, right.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
I want to go back to this though, I still
think that that thirty million, the twenty million.

Speaker 4 (24:32):
Says it's fully guarantee of ball and is not on
the SATs he wants to be.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
It has offsets, that has its subject to offsets. He
gets twenty million on his roster bonus this March, ten
million roster bonus next March. That next March has offsets
connected to it.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
So are you saying that they are going they're gonna
cut him after the seasons over so he won't receive
his team.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
And what I'm saying is, I think I believe what
I mean. We can make a nice little bet. I'll
give you great odds too that he gets this ten
million roster bonus. I'll give you the best size of
I give you better eyes in Vegas.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
All I'm telling you is is that what it sounds
like to me, jerks, is that this this situation that
they have right now is based upon them trusting or
not trusting that t Higgins can stay.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
They're they're hedging their bet.

Speaker 5 (25:27):
They're hedging their bet by making it a guarantee where
the ten million comes next year for the roster bonus
next year. So his signing bonus, the money he gets
right now, that goes into his bank account. It's twenty
million dollars. It's twenty million dollars. That's the only money
that that's the only money he's going to get.

Speaker 4 (25:46):
That's get that can happen, That can happen to anybody.

Speaker 5 (25:50):
Yeah, but if you have a thirty million guaranteed, it's
not deferred. It's not like that that extra ten is
deferred to next year. It's not deferred.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
This like every contract, he has to.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
Be on the roster to get that ten million. He
has to roster boner to get to.

Speaker 4 (26:06):
The roster bonus is for it is basically in every
player's contract, and you don't get it all in the
same year. We were just having these conversations last week
or a couple to go about with Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
When come when man man, come out, bro, just make
sure you consult with me. Okay, listen, you have to
come to a decision.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Consult you have two million.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
If that million, you have to come to a decision
as an organizations.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
Come March or the following year.

Speaker 4 (26:41):
If you want to correct, give that player, Hey, the
roster bonus. The same thing happening with Kirk Cousins. It's
the same every contract.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
But if they have Kirk Cousins. Okay, So so let's
start right there.

Speaker 5 (26:53):
Plex If they had let Kirk Cousins go before that date,
that took in that roster bonus, you get that money,
yes or no, Yes or no, but they gave it
to him yes or no. No. That's not what I
asked you, Plexico Burst, Plexico Burst, that's not what I
asked you.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
I asked Plexico Burst, if.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
The Minnesota Vikings had let release released Sam Darnold before
that roster that guaranteed roster bonus.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
You approve of my point.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
It's in every car, it's in everybody's contract.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Plexico Burst, if they let him go before he gets
to that date.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
To get that right, bonus is not get paid, then
it's not guaranteed, guaranteed does not get paid.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Thank you. Then we're that you every play you every.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Played, that's every player in the league, LeVar.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Not Deshaun.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
Actual question, actual question. Yes, So he has a twenty
million dollars roster bonus do March twenty twenty five? Correct?

Speaker 3 (27:53):
That's crazy?

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Is he going to hold up? Hold up? Is he
going to receive that? With you assise? Okay, hold on,
hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. He's going
to receive that twenty million? Correct?

Speaker 3 (28:03):
Correct?

Speaker 2 (28:03):
You know what his base salary is for twenty twenty five?

Speaker 3 (28:06):
Not much?

Speaker 2 (28:07):
Oh it's fourteen million, Yes, it is much fourteen million.
So that right there, that right there, that right there
is LeVar. That's thirty four million right there. That's thirty
four million right there in year one. So you think
they're going to pay him thirty four million dollars in
one year in releasing or is he going to see
that ten? No, no, no, no, la, I'm asking you

(28:27):
a question.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
I mean you're asking me. I'm answering.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
No, you're not answering you're going into an explanation that's
a yes or no.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
If he is healthy, he will be on the team
in the result of money.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
But you can't cut it because because he's hurt LeVar,
he has a thirteen point eight million dollars base salary
for twenty twenty five. That's basically thirty four million dollars
in year one, and then as soon as the season
is over, what they're gonna give you ten more. So,
now that's forty four million dollars within the span of

(28:57):
a year of signing the contract.

Speaker 5 (29:00):
All right, I mean, I'm not I'm not gonna you
guys make valid points with much you're making points for.
But the bottom line is is that that man is
only guaranteed twenty million dollars.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
That's it. That's all he guaranteed.

Speaker 4 (29:14):
Is he only guaranteed twenty million. That is his pure guarantee,
twenty million dollars point eight million dollars the season in
Michigan State.

Speaker 5 (29:25):
But I can add his only guaranteed money that they
have to pay all the hook to pay for is
the twenty million at signing.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
There make this twenty million, and they don't release him
before the season starts. Hopefully that happens.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Well, not before the next the next one.

Speaker 5 (29:44):
No, no, no, before this season, because before the roster
for or for for for what he's getting playing during
the season. I mean, obviously, if he's going to play,
he's gonna get paid. I'm not I'm not arguing that.
What I'm saying is if anything were to happen, if
he did it released for some strange reason, he gets released. Like,
for instance, if if Deshaun Watson gets released for any

(30:07):
reason whatsoever, he is getting his money. He's getting all
the money that is in his contract because it is
a fully guaranteed, fully guaranteed contract. This kid does not
have a fully guaranteed contract. There are out there offsets
Deshaun Watson does. Deshaun Watson has.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
A fully guarantee contract. This is not a fully guaranteed contract.
The only thing, I mean, we spent the whole segment.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Out of Deshaun Watson has a fully guaranteed contract. Nobody,
thank you nobody.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Yeah, the history he's been the age old, that's always
been the age old discussion of what takes place within
the NFL versus other sports. That's the whole point of
what I was making because in theory, in theory, in theory,
he makes more off of his franchise tag. If he
were to take a franchise tag, in theory, he gets

(31:04):
more guaranteed money up front than what he does.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
When he does track.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
He did true franchise tag for the wide receiver. True
twenty five season is twenty three point nine million. He
would have got twenty six because he was franchised last year.
But hold up, if he have a if he has
a twenty million dollar roster bonus, thirteen point eight salary, Yes,

(31:28):
the last check, that's basically thirty four million. He was
going to make twenty six. He's making eight more million
dollars at the.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
Last check based off of him playing. So how is
he making.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
It's not based off him playing lvars, based off him
being on a roster. It's not plain. And if he's
on the and if he plays, it's actually going to
be more. It's actually going to be more than thirty
thirty three point eighty to be about thirty.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
Screaming at me, don't mean that it makes what y'all. Hey,
let's let's get on the act.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
He let's get it.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
On.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Let's get an independent opinion.

Speaker 5 (32:05):
Please, please rescue these dudes. Man, give us an update
on sports Man, what you got?

Speaker 6 (32:10):
You all sound like a bunch of accountants arguing with
each other, right, is that vow him not?

Speaker 5 (32:16):
Man?

Speaker 6 (32:17):
Hear about thirty seconds away from throwing your pocket protectors
at each other. Well, no argument so far in Round
two of the UNCAA Tournament, because four seed Perdue is
up twenty seven to eleven over twelve seed McNeese at
the seven forty six mark of the first half. Purdue
has started the game eleven out of eighteen from the
field for sixty one percent, including five three pointers. McNeice

(32:39):
just four out of fifteen from the floor for twenty
seven percent. Coming up next to two forty Eastern two seeds,
Saint John's takes on ten seed Arkansas on Friday night.
Two time heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman passed away at
the age of seventy six. Let's take a special listen
back to one of his greatest victories, his nineteen seventy

(33:00):
three heavyweight title win over Joe Frazier at Kingston, Jamaica.
Through the perspective of the one and only Howard co.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Sal recruited, I think Foreman might be killing, literally killing.
He is Crazier a game.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Yes he's down.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
He is down from the fourth time in the fight.
But quick left from Jordan. I know Crazier is down
from the fifth time in this fight.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Tat dragged this, but George Brahmans, it is Taga track.
Razier is ready to go again.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
Joe is standing, he goes.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
It is over.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
It is over, guys, back to you appreciate it, sir?

Speaker 2 (33:48):
All right?

Speaker 5 (33:48):
Well, at any rate, congratulations to t Higgins and Jamar Chase.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
It's still a lot of money, no matter, Tomato, Tomato,
He's still a ton of money.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
One thing the Bengals are going to have to do, though,
they're gonna have to draft very well on the defensive
side of the ball, because when you put all your
resources to signing your offensive players to these extensions, you're
gonna have to build through the draft on the defense
side of the ball. And so guys like Mile Murphy,
who we drafted out the first round from Clemson, we

(34:19):
need you to play better, Buddy. Well the first round
draft picks and the second and third, we're gonna go
heavy on the draft on defense. These guys gotta produce
that that that's.

Speaker 5 (34:30):
Gonna be the key they gotta it's gonna be the
biggest piece of it is what y'all do on defense.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
This is up on Game.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
That's Plex, Ko Burs, t J Hudchemonside, I'm LeVar Arrington
on the other side of the break.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Hmm.

Speaker 5 (34:40):
There was a visit to the Steelers. I guess when
one doesn't want you, you gotta go knock out.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
The other door. Spend six hours we're gonna talk about it.
Is there a deal to be made?

Speaker 5 (34:49):
Is up on Game. Fox Sports Radio will be right back.
All right, all right, welcome back, and this is Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
It's up on Games.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
T J.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
Huchmansis Plex, Cobur Laar Arrington. Make sure you stay down
in hour two is coming at you very quickly. We
got cuts the legend coming on as well. We'll revisit
some of this march Matt and it's taking place. See
if TJ is right more so than uh he's been
in these last couple segments.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Anyway. Uh, let's uh no, no, that was no good.
All right, anyway, let's talk about Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (35:25):
The same things seemed to have fallen apart between Aaron
Rodgers and Minnesota. Who that's that's a ledge that that's
where he really wanted to be. They they said they're
focused in on JJ McCarthy and don't want to sign
Aaron Rodgers at this time. And uh, and you know
they're moving on to see what happens there. But Aaron

(35:49):
Rodgers goes, he visited, he visits the Stillers. Uh for
six hours. There was no deal done. But do you
guys think there can be a deal done at this
point with Pittsburgh? Do you think a deal gets done
at this point? What other options is he going to have?

Speaker 2 (36:04):
You know, it's the Giants signed Jamis Winston and so
I believe they're out of Aaron Rodgers business.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Yeah, Okay.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
The thing is, if Aaron Rodgers wanted to sign with
the Steelers, he would have already signed. There's something there
that's holding me back. And I don't think Cam Hayward
coming out saying what he's saying makes it better. Oh,
you either want to sign with us or you don't. Well,
if I wanted to sign with you, I would have
been signed.

Speaker 3 (36:34):
True like you.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Acting like the Steelers is the chief, The Steelers ain't
the Steelers. Like when I played, when I was playing,
the Steelers was competing for Super Bowl WHOA am I lying?
What lie have I told? When I was playing? When
I was playing, the Steelers were competing for Super Bowls.
The Steelers have not won a playoff game, if I'm

(36:56):
not mistaken, In nine years, nine years they haven't won
a playoff game. So all this they not the Steelers
of when I played. Of course they got a reputation,
but their reputation.

Speaker 3 (37:10):
Can they be better with Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 2 (37:12):
I believe they can be really good with Aaron Rodgers,
I really do. I believe they can be when you
have DK and George Pick and you have the potential
to have one of the best pair of receivers on
the team. Now the key would be with Arthur Smith,
who likes to run a two yard and cloud of
dust offense. He did it in Minnesota, I mean in Minnesota.

(37:33):
He did it in Tennessee, he did it in Atlanta,
he did it last year in Pittsburgh. Would he be
open to changing his offensive philosophy? I believe the way
Aaron Rodgers played down the stretch, he'd be a great addition.
But he hasn't signed, so that makes me believe I
don't know if that's something he wants to do. That's

(37:55):
the thing. I just.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
One thing that kind of you know, uh, you know,
kind of alarms me is that we just keep talking
about Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers, and he's like
holding all of these teams and organizations Hodges basically basically
uh you know, talking about him and the media like

(38:20):
every single day because he thinks that he is like
this great Well, he is a great quarterback, but he's
not Aaron Rodgers of ten years ago.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
I don't know where he's.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Going to end up.

Speaker 4 (38:34):
But even if he goes to Pittsburgh, I don't think
that that that this makes them a contender to win
the World Championship based off of the division that they
are in. I mean, that's just that's just me being
honest with with how Baltimore Lamar and the Cincinnati Bengals
and Joe Burrow are playing right now, you just you

(38:54):
expect for those teams to get better. And and Najea
Harris came out and said last year, within his offense,
we did not have no identity. And everybody knows that
Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Standard is that we want
to run the football. So you signed DK Metcalf and

(39:15):
you obviously you have George Pickens over there. Just like
TJ said, does Arthur Smith come in and change the
philosophy of his offense and start throwing the ball around
the yard forty five times a game? That hasn't been
what the stealers have been traditionally. So I don't know
what's going to happen where Aaron Rodgers is going to be.
Just like he just say, he's running out of options.

(39:37):
I believe that he will end up in Pittsburgh because
it seems like to me that the Venezula Vikings are
running with JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
Yeah, well, it sounds like they might want to throw
the ball around in Pittsburgh by bringing DK in. So
we'll see what happens with that. But man, could it
end up being him just retiring. I mean, that would
be kind of a lackluster way of finishing out your career.
But hey, it's his decision. He has a Hall of
Fame career first ballot at that, so we'll see how

(40:08):
it all plays out. I'm thinking it's going to be
Pittsburgh as well, but hey, we'll see how it happens.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
Hour two is coming at you.

Speaker 5 (40:14):
We'll be having cuffs, the legend on from some dude
