We do.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
We'll talk about both those things. Will get comfortable going
on Laurn, Yeah, we do. All right, Well, speaking of
a lot going on, you know, there's been much conversation
made about everything that's surrounding the teams that got chosen
for the college football playoffs. You got Alabama going against Michigan,
(02:31):
you got.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Washington going against Texas.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
And FSU got left out, and need I say, if
we're really going to go there, don't you think Georgia
got left out as well? I mean, I'm looking at
this this situation and how the committee selects, and I've
heard I've heard all of the conversations.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
I know.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Plex just came in so so Plex, I'm interested to
hear what you have to say as well.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
But TJ.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
Get Us started on on what's taking place with this
college football playoff and the selection committee.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
It unfolded. What's your take on it?
Speaker 7 (03:07):
Listen, man, if I'm a supporter of Florida State, I'm
an athlete at Florida State, I'm a coach at Florida State.
If I'm associated with Florida State, I'm pissed off that
we didn't get in. But I also understand why the
committee didn't put them in. You don't have your quarterback.
(03:28):
You couldn't You could barely score a point offensively without
your quarterback. And so if you look back to last season,
a TCU team that had their quarterback, that had their
full tame, man, they don't want to see blowouts in
the National championship game. They want competitive games, and so
(03:53):
maybe did TCU have something to do with it.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (03:56):
The problem that I have with the committee is this,
Jordan Travis was hurt three games ago, but you still
had Florida State number four in the poll. Why would
you have them number four? And so they're number four
(04:17):
in the poll and then they win the ACC Championship
and they're drop. So the previous week, if they're four,
you think if they win, they're going to stay four.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
They go up or stay where they're at.
Speaker 7 (04:28):
Yeah, so you you gave them somewhat of a false
hope that all you guys got to do is win.
I do have that problem. And again, had Georgia won,
probably now you gotta is it Texas, Is it Florida State?
Do you just go with Florida State? And so with
Alabama beating Georgia, it probably turned some things upside down.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
But I believe they got it right. They I believe
they got it right.
Speaker 7 (04:53):
If Alabama gets in, Texas should get in because Texas
beat them, and so I believe they got a right.
But if I'm a supporter of Florida State, I one
hundred percent feel their pain and where they're coming from.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Man Man, So there's so many different angles, you know,
to to this whole selection. Just like le Boss said,
I was saying to myself before the game, I hit
my boys, Mark Stroud, he played at Georgia, and I
say to myself, I asked Strode, I say, so, if
Alabama beat y'all tonight, do y'all drop out of the
top four. And they're definitely one of the top four
(05:28):
teams in college football. I mean, there's no doubt about that.
And you know, I think this is the first time
Georgia lawsuit home a game in twenty nine or thirty
straight games and then Alabama gets in. I'm saying to myself,
I said, listen, if Alabama wins this game tonight, the
College Football Committee is not going to leave Nick Saban out.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
They are not because it's Alabama. And in regards.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
To to Florida State going thirteen, listen thirteen and oh
it's thirteen and oh and you're saying, TJ. You saying
that the committee left them out because of the quarterback
got hurt. But they still want to win a football game,
so that's more of a reason to put them in.
Thirteen and oh is legit. I don't give a damn
what conference you're playing, but Florida State. The fact that
(06:18):
this matter is this what the Committee told you and
told the told the world and everybody else. Nobody wants
to see you play football on the national stage because
you know why, it's about money and ratings. They want
to see Tennessee is going to travel well as far
as from a fan base, and the so is Texas.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Where you talk about Power five Football conference.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
When the SEC and Texas Florida State does not match
the billing of getting the ratings and the money, that
is basically what they're telling you. You're not a good
enough football team for us to put on that stage
when we know that Alabama and Tennessee will generate millions
(07:06):
and millions of dollars of revenue for us. So we're sorry,
maybe next year. That is basically what they told you
and everybody else. So it's just something that you have
to deal with.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
That's TJ and Plexico Burds. This is up on game.
I am LeVar Arrington, Guys, I gotta be honest with you.
I tend to have Here's where I take issue the committee.
The Committee has said that they have a criteria based
upon what you just said TJ and believing they got
(07:38):
it right with the selections is that if a quarterback
or main player isn't and they have the right to
decide and go a different direction if need be. And
that's what everybody seems to be using for the argument
against Florida State.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
But again, my.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
Argument to it is that I understand the conversations of
there being Power five five power conferences, but only four
slots to get into the National Football Playoff.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
I get that, but.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
My problem is is the argument being used for Florida
State over and over and over again is that the
quarterback is in the end, they're going to get blown out,
they could barely score, so they're not going to put
them in because it won't be a competitive game. It's
not the four best teams that are in there. That's
the argument that's being used, right, Is that correct?
Speaker 1 (08:35):
Correct?
Speaker 6 (08:36):
The problem I have with that reasoning is if you're
going to use the reasoning that we're not putting or
we're putting the four best teams in and that leaves
Florida State out because of their quarterback not being being
up and being able to play, then tell me one team.
And I mentioned this on my social media tell me
(08:57):
one team that would be favored the odds to beat
the Georgia Bulldogs in a game in the College football Playoff?
Tell me one team that's better than Georgia in the
college football Playoff. And Georgia has one loss, So for somebody,
so for somebody?
Speaker 7 (09:13):
Wait wait wait wait wait wait outside Alabama, because Alabama
beat them.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
You're talking Michigan, Texas.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
Yes, Washington, and you cham would you favor which? Which
team would you favor to beat the University of Georgia
in the game?
Speaker 7 (09:29):
Probably me personally. I think Michigan could beat them, and
I think.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
Would you favor them? Would you favorite? Would you favor them?
And would they be the favorite to beat Georgia in
the game? Are those better teams than Georgia? And I
think we all know the answer.
Speaker 7 (09:43):
I believe all four of those teams would make it
a very competitive game with Georgia. Whether they would win,
I mean I would say, okay, but the very very possible.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
The conversation of saying competitive is one thing. The conversation
of saying the best is a whole another thing.
Speaker 7 (09:58):
But which if you ask me, would Georgia be them?
I would say competitive? It's the same thing. I would
say Texas college football.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Texas has a Washington favorite, Georgia.
Speaker 6 (10:11):
And every last one of those guys, including Alabama.
Speaker 7 (10:15):
See Georgia is not Georgia that they used to be.
Georgia is not the Georgia with Jordan Davis and all
those defensive linemen that's playing in the National Football League
and lineback that this isn't the same Georgia team.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
But they still want to get one loss.
Speaker 6 (10:30):
They lost to one loss, and and I think that's
up up for debate.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Is not to still Georgia when they ain't lost a
game in thirty games.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
They think last they just.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Lost last week.
Speaker 6 (10:42):
That's one game they lost an Alabama team, and that
many your first loss, and their first loss was in
the SEC championship game, the first loss Alabama. That wasn't
Alabama's first loss. That wasn't Texas first loss. Like they
lost their first game in the championship game.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
But they lost at the wrong time.
Speaker 8 (11:04):
They Alabama and Florida State didn't hey Alabama the way
prior in the Iron Bowl Fourth and thirty one, fourth
and goal, Man, that game should be over.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Man, the game is over. That game is over.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
But it wasn't they.
Speaker 7 (11:21):
Son, Son can call a defense for that fourth and
goal from the thirty one yard line, sure, and they
not gonna score. Like and so Alabama beat them Georgia.
It's almost as if the way you just the way
plex just said, Oh, they're not gonna let Nick Saban
not be in it. Oh because if they.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
Can played last year, Yeah, he's each rees is that
I'm talking about right now?
Speaker 7 (11:47):
He started this year because he didn't Alabama. Oh and
he's seen SEC team cannot be left out. Uh, you
know they're not gonna do that. But this is the thing,
this is not a lifetime achievement. We just gonna let
you in because of you guys are saying because of
what Georgia has done in the past when they lost
(12:08):
the We're not.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Talking about what they did in the past.
Speaker 7 (12:12):
They was thirteen and on to the other day twelve
and though right and they lost them.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
There's not one team that I would favor and I
don't think the betting polls, I don't think that they
would favor any team over over Georgia.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
They were in it.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
That My point is, the point that I'm making isn't
don't make the argument about it being the best four
teams and everybody got it right, these are the best
four teams because they're not. You got one undefeated that's
from a Power five and as a conference champion.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
I don't give a damn if.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
You say that is quarterback is out, their quarterback is out.
It's a team sport like legends are made. So we're
saying that there aren't any opportunities for legends to be
made when somebody goes down.
Speaker 7 (12:55):
They tried to make a legend and championship game and
they couldn't score a point, so just weren't made. No,
I don't they still backup quarterback of freshmen?
Speaker 3 (13:07):
That cannot say it's the point.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
You can't say keep Florida State out because you took
the best teams when you left the when you left
one of the four best teams with one loss out.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
That that's up for interpretation.
Speaker 7 (13:21):
That that's an opinion of yours.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
How's it up for interpretation when the record says they
have zero loss.
Speaker 7 (13:32):
When they have their quarterback, when you have when you
don't have your quarterback, you're not one of the best.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
You guys are a complete different team.
Speaker 6 (13:40):
So if you're OK and you have team has one
losses in there, then how are they?
Speaker 1 (13:47):
How are how does that? How is that justified?
Speaker 7 (13:50):
Because they're saying on paper, you guys are not the
same team that you guys were the entire season, and
so sorry, And this is why the human element, you know,
when we were playing, it was all the polls and
it wasn't a committee. It was a computer and the
ap pole and certain voters and they just kind of
(14:10):
went back then whatever it was then. But the human
element of Jordan Travis is hurt. Florida State is not
the same team. Everybody knows that they're under the Florida
State was the fourth seed. They had to play Michigan.
They wouldn't score a point against Michigan.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
They won their championship game without their starting quarterback, which
is that they moved on.
Speaker 7 (14:35):
Doesn't matter who they played, lear who they played in
the championship game, It didn't matter who they were they play.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Who did they play?
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Louisville?
Speaker 6 (14:44):
Yeah, the Plumber and everybody picked Louisville to beat them.
Speaker 7 (14:49):
Yeah, we everybody picked Louisville. And that showed me how
bad Louisville wasn't on the show. Yes, I and I
picked Louisville, and that showed me right there. Louisville is
not as I thought they were.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
It showed you right there that Florida State can win
without their starting quarter.
Speaker 7 (15:04):
Florida State has a great DC. I would love to
hear your opinion about this what right now? If you
was a player on Florida State. Oh, if I was
a player on Florida State, or if my son with
the Florida State, it'd be another thing.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
But down, no, no, no, listen, deep down down, I.
Speaker 7 (15:23):
Would know y'all gonna get your bus with they gonna
beat the breaks off y'all.
Speaker 6 (15:28):
I think I know that get the opportunity to get
their their tails kicked. But that's just me talking.
Speaker 1 (15:32):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (15:33):
But that's DJ Hudgman's out of that's Plexico burst. I'm
LeVar Harrington. We're gonna take a quick break.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Let's see it.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
But the questions and.
Speaker 6 (15:41):

Heisman ceremony is tonight. Who wins. I love to hear

Post it right after we get off the air. So
appreciate you guys supporting Heisman Trophy.
Speaker 7 (17:11):
It will be awarded evening real quick. Oh yeah, sure,
I'm sorry. I just had to bring this up. This
is on my mind when we went to break. Georgia
would be favor over to everybody. They were favored over
Alabama and they lost. But I'm sorry, Heisman Trophy go ahead.
I'm sorry, but.
Speaker 6 (17:28):
I think that I mean before we I mean, since
you want to throw that out there, that's even more reason.
That's even more reason to look at a Florida state
and say, you know what, they were favored to lose
because they didn't have their their starting quarterback. But yet
you should put them in because they found the way
to win. So it kind of goes to your point.
(17:50):
I mean, Georgia was favored in the game, and you
know what, if Alabama gets the opportunity to play that game,
they win the game, they won the game. If they
don't get that opportunity because somebody left them out because
they said they weren't one of the better teams to
be in it, then they don't ever have the opportunity
to win the game. That's how I look at it.
I mean, who's to say that Florida State isn't on
(18:11):
one of those destiny driven type seasons. Who's to say that,
Who's to say that the quarterback that steps in for
them doesn't have the biggest game of his life in
one of those games? Or that defense. I'm a defensive player.
I've seen defenses win win games. I've seen Ray Lewis
and and uh and company win win super Bowls. For
for the Baltimore Ravens as a defense driven team, Trent Dilford.
(18:35):
If you're leaving out the best teams, are you going
to do it based off of a quarterback?
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Then Trent Dilfred should have been the reason why the.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Ravens didn't go in two thousand.
Speaker 6 (18:45):
We're gonna lead were lead the Ravens out because they
got Trent Dilfert quarterback.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Like, come on, man, come on, come on, now you
know that and how that college work completely different?
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Man.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Yeah, I'm just saying that. I'm just saying but I'm
just and it's Georg.
Speaker 6 (19:02):
Took that ill again, and so that's what that to
me says that then Florida State should get the opportunity
to go in because they're undefeated, conference champion and a
Power five conference.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
You just made the point, well, TJ, you did bring
it up. I mean you made the point.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
But to that point, some of these these guys are
deserving of recognition for how well they played. One being
Michael Pennix, I mean, he has been amazing for the
Washington Huskies.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
He along with.
Speaker 6 (19:37):
Marvin Harrison, Junior Bo Nicks who had an amazing year
for Oregon, and Jaden Daniels, who, man I would assume,
I think im betting odds, is the favorite to win
the award, but he has had a phenomenal year. Guys
who do you look at in this this finalist group
(19:58):
as being the one that walks away with the trophy
this evening?
Speaker 7 (20:02):
Oh, for me, it's Jayde Daniels, no question what he did,
the type of season that he had. If his defense
was a little better, they're obviously their record would be better.
But you can look to years and past with RG
three winning the Heisman his team at Baylor, they lost
(20:25):
a ton of games, and so you can dissect and
point to many different things. When Lamar Jackson won the
Heisman at twenty sixteen, Louisville was nine and four, and
then even last year and see was eleven and three
when Kaylen Willgins won. And so we've seen cases where
your team has three four losses and the player still wins.
(20:49):
And so what Jaye Daniels did on the ground and
in the air to me is as crazy as remarkable.
He had the best season overall. So I expect Jake
Danielson when this probably Penix would be second, followed by
h Bonnecks and then obviously Marvin Harrison Jr.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Man, you know what, I'm looking at this, I'm looking
at this class. I think this is the first time
a wide receiver has been in the Heisman Trophy candidate
since Randy Marston ninety seven, which I think from Alabama
from you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right. So
it's always a beautiful thing to see a wide receiver being,
(21:35):
you know, recognized as one of the premium, one of
the best players in all the college football. But teacher,
I have to disagree with you. I'm looking at you
know what this kid, Michael Pennick Jr. Has been able
to accomplish man in this season for Washington undefeated. They win,
they win their conference forty two hundred yards man thirty
(21:56):
three thirty three touchdowns, and they beat the why Sinton State,
which is their rival, in the last game of the
last game of.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
The season to go underfeed it.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
And I'm just looking at I had a few opportunities
to watch this man play this This kid can make
every throw on the football field and he is extremely
His accuracy I think is his second and then I
think that's one of the main reasons why he is
going to excel at the next level because of its accuracy.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
But listen, Jayden.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Dennis had a hell of a season, and you know,
I think it's going to be one of the same
deals that happened with Neighbors last last lay with the
Bolitany call losing to Marven Harrison Junior by one point.
Because of the main fact of that we didn't really
get an opportunity to see LSU a lot this year,
(22:48):
and the Neighbors did have a better season statistically than
Marvin Harrison Junior did. But you know, he plays for
Ohio State and they're basically playing on national television is.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Man yet he's playing.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Yeah, he was coming and he.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Was playing for a number two, number three team ranked
in the country. So when you look at tonight, I
think that Michael Pennix Junior will win this award solely
because of the fact that, well, he's thrown from more
yards forty two hundred yards. I think, you know, jay
Danmesy for forty touchdowns, Phoenix through for thirty three. But
(23:25):
I think this is what is going going to happen.
The same things gonna happen tonight with the Heisman Trophy.
I think they're gonna look at the body of work
that this kid did us in Washington, which nobody saw
coming from this football team, and Michael Pennick je was
gonna win the Hotsman.
Speaker 6 (23:39):
Trophy, Well, I've seen it coming. When he beat us
during the COVID year at Indiana, I was like, who
is this dude?
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Man?
Speaker 6 (23:45):
He was he was on some he was on some
wicked football even back then. I love what Jaydon Daniels
is doing. Jayon Daniels is an accurate quarterback as well.
He does some great things and has had a phenomenal year.
I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
I think I think Michael Pennix is probably gonna get it,
(24:06):
but I don't think you could.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Go wrong with either one.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
And if I'm just stating who I think the best
player is in college football, He's not going to win
the award tonight, But by far, Marvin Harrison Junior is
the best most electrifying football player in college football right now.
I know you will disagree with that, TJ. You might
as well, PLEX, but let me tell you something. That
dude has come up big in the biggest games. When
(24:31):
they used him, he came through for them. They should
have used him more in the Mischian Gig game and
we wouldn't be having the conversation about why they're not
still playing.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
But Marvin Harrison Junior is one.
Speaker 6 (24:41):
Of those just big play type of guys that does
some amazing special things on the football field. He's like
a generational talent if you ask me. I got a
chance to see him play in person two times, and
it was pretty It was pretty phenomenal to see him play.
But anyway, that's my take on it. Let's get an
update from Ilo and then we're gonna switch gears. We're
gonna talk about something different all right, y'all, sit tight,
(25:04):
hold steady what you got?
Speaker 10 (25:05):
I love well, guys, we start with some big news
out of college football today because Oklahoma quarterback Dylan Gabriel
has announced he is transferring to Oregon. No big news, however,
in Major League Baseball, because yeah, show Hey Otani still
has not decided yet. However, fellas that has not stopped
(25:27):
alleged sightings of Otani from all over North America from
being spread today on social media. Todd from Cleveland posting, quote,
I just saw show Heyotani at the Steelyard Walmart parking
lot doing donuts in a hellcat abbey from Gwelph, Ontario posting,
(25:50):
just saw show Hey o Toani lined up to meet
Santa Claus in Stone Road. Mall John from downtown Los
Angeles posting I just saw show Hey Otani drinking a
Pina Colada at Trader Vis. His hair was perfect and
finally Cubby Steph from Chicago posting, I saw Otani at
(26:11):
three am in Billy Goat's tavern, the one below Whacker.
He was eating sliced pickles from the Accoutermonts table while
waiting for his burger. Unquote, show Hey Otani apparently very
busy and very well fed the NFL. The Steelers announced
today star pass rusher TJ. Watt is in concussion protocol.
(26:32):
ESPN reports Philadelphia Eagles head of security Dom Desandra will
not be permitted on the sideline during Sunday night's game
at Dallas after his confrontation yet with the forty nine
Ers Dre Greenlaw last week. He'll still be able to
be in the stadium and the locker room, just not
on the sideline. The Chiefs activated linebacker Nick Bolton from
injured reserve. The Rams elevated placekicker Mason Crosby from their
(26:55):
practice squad for Sunday's game at Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
Fellas, all your appreciate. I went to school with Big
doll Man, you know that I did.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
He went to penn State.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
He went wild.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
Uh so he's a Pennsylvania dude. Anyway, Uh thanks.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
I don't know where you're going with this right now,
but I just want to, you know, hit on something
that Alo just said.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Jaydon Dames is transformed from Oklahoma. No, Dylan Gabriel.
Speaker 4 (27:26):
Dylan Gabriel, I mean, is the the is the landscape
for college football for these quarterbacks? Is it come into
how much you money you can pay these guys to
school or what was going on?
Speaker 7 (27:42):
It's two things to me. To me, it's two things.
Better opportunity to win and they paying them more money.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
That's just bottom line what it is.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
They give them a better opportunity to win, and they're
paying them more money.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Yeah, let's run with it.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
One thout and players one thousand.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Plus plays eleven hundred, actually.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Eleven hundred entered the transfer.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
Port just over eleven hundred. Yes, what's y'all? What's y'all
take on it? It's just, oh my god, it's got
my court just went into the transfer porter from Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Correct, then, so that the kid from Oregon State.
Speaker 4 (28:22):
That transfer from Ohio State and you're the starting quarterback.
I mean, listen, I understand the whole money aspect of it.
If I'm the starting quarterback of Ohio State, I'm saying
to my I'm gonna ask myself what other school can
I go to put myself with a better a better
(28:43):
position than Ohio State?
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Nowhere? Nowhere.
Speaker 7 (28:48):
No, you're not gonna have those type of guys playing
with you Wherever you.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Say, where you gonna go, Kentucky and throw the ball
fifty five times a game.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
You heard back at Ohio State.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
From what I can here, I don't know how true
this is. This is speculation, but from what I could
hear or gather is that he wanted assurances him or
his dad or the family, somebody, somebody wanted assurances that
he was going to come in and be the starting quarterback. Shit,
(29:20):
these parents get those assurances, These.
Speaker 7 (29:23):
Parents of quarterbacks. They're lunatics, these parents when they have
these quarterbacks. Man, just from being out here and in
training and watching these high school kids train, not all
of them, but some of these parents, these dudes think
their sons is Tom Brady in high school?
Speaker 3 (29:44):
Right?
Speaker 4 (29:45):
So so basicis what you're telling me is that the parents.
Speaker 7 (29:49):
From an athlete who's in college are calling the place
from home and basically saying, listen, are you going to
are you going to guarantee my kids? I'm speculatdlexic. Why
would you transfer everything? Just said from Ohio State? You
leave oldhouse State where you ain't gonna be throwing to
(30:09):
a Marvin Harrison, that's for sure, but you're not gonna.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Sound it's alone.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
But I'm gonna tell y'all what it sounds like what
it sounds like, whether it came from a family member,
whether it came from a parent, whether it came from
the kid himself. It just sounds as though like there's
someone who's better than him.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
And coming up.
Speaker 6 (30:28):
Either he feels that, either he feels the dude breathing
on his neck right now, or he sees it in
terms of what the coaches think and what they feel.
But it sounds it sounds like something to me the
old babies. And why you would want assuredan says you know,
and and why you would leave as the starter is
(30:48):
because there's somebody that's about to take.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
You, right, So basically you'll want somebody to come up
next year and take your job and you know no
longer start the quarterback, Like so I'm gonna go to
another school.
Speaker 7 (31:00):
Well I'm sure to start maybe an Arkansas somewhere, but
I'm gonna be the starting quarterback.
Speaker 6 (31:05):
That's what it sounds like happened. That's to me, that's
my interpretation.
Speaker 7 (31:09):
I'm all for the portal, I really am for the
portal where these guys. If a coach can leave, a
player should be able to leave. And I've always always
thought that should be the case. Obviously, now it's a
little overboard.
Speaker 3 (31:26):
Because the portal happened.
Speaker 7 (31:30):
Unless you're a four and five star recruit, the portal
is taken away opportunities for high school kids. Yes, it's
taken away opportunity for the three star kids that are undervalued,
underdeveloped late bloomers. It's taken away those opportunities because these
(31:52):
colleges just looking into the portal. Oh, so and so
was a four star when he came out, we're gonna
take chemist that it is three star high high school kid.
And so it sucks for the high school kid. And
they tried to change it where they limit the amount
of time you can enter the transfer portal and when
(32:12):
you can transfer. But I like the choices and just
the decisions that the players now in college are able.
If a coach can leave whenever he wants, why can't
they play And so to me that's the biggest thing.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
But then on the flip side of that, there are
guys that who are stuck in the portal that I've
talked to coaches on the college level and please, like, plas,
do you have any you know, thoughts that you could
give me of how we can recognize some of these
(32:51):
guys who are stuck in the portal because we have
no idea who they are.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
They lead, they lead, they leave college, they go to
the portal, and they have no tape.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
So the coaches can't even evaluate the kids who are
stuck in the portal because they.
Speaker 3 (33:09):
Don't even know who the hell they are.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
And them kids are gonna be sitting right at home.
Speaker 3 (33:13):
And they're sitting there stuck in the portal.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
Yeah, they're gonna be at home.
Speaker 6 (33:17):
That's Plexico Burrus. That's TJ. Hushman's out of. We're gonna
get to a break. This is Fox Sports Radio. We'll
be right back, all right, welcome back in what's up
on game? We're live from the tyreck dot Com studio.
It's Plexico Bursts, TJ. Hushman's out of. I'm LeVar Arrington. Hey,
there's a big fight coming on tonight. People are really
excited about it. And you know what, I wanted to
(33:41):
have the conversation with our expert, our in house expert
from Pretty Left Hook, our guy, Rat Butler joins us
on the show.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
Rat, what's going on? How you're doing, sir man.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
It's a great fight night, just a time for the holidays.
It's gonna be a big one bar. Everybody knows. Devin
Han's on the quest for supremacy. He already quested in
the lightweight division. Now he's stepping up light Walter Folks
and Regis Rugaru pro Grade is not a game. Do
not sleep on the scott Fellers and TJ knows. I
like Devin, but bruh ain't gonna lie. This is a
(34:15):
fifty to fifty fight right here.
Speaker 7 (34:19):
How's your take on the TJ? How you feel about it?
I've been watching Regis's Prograde fight. Obviously he was an
unknown probably his last ten fights.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
Really powerful. He's not fast, great power.
Speaker 7 (34:37):
In it, and it's more of a thudding power like
when it hits you, like heavy handed, like wow, that
that hurts. And does he have enough footwork to get
to Devin Haney. Devin Haney is a great boxer, but
he does get hit. Does he have enough Will his
footwork be enough where he can box and not be
flat footed? And do you believe Devin Haiti will quote
(35:02):
discover some power in this move up.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
In weight class.
Speaker 5 (35:06):
Absolutely, I'm glad you mentioned this, as I said, fifty
to fifty fight because We all know Devin Haney is
a boxer. Regis Progray is a puncher, and to your point,
Devon has to be swift on the feet as usual.
We know he knows how to evade, but when he
gets into a firefight, he gets touched. Now, I'll say
this about Regis pro Gray. If he masters the art
(35:27):
of cutting Devin off, Devin is greater angles. If he
can stop all the exit points for Devon. I think
he finds a way to get Devon into a firefight,
confronts him head on and use that South Paul ability
to throw him off a bit. Plus, we just can't
actually have power in both hands. But of course his
left is mighty. But I think that Regis has a
great chance of getting Devin caught slipping, especially now because
(35:50):
the fight is emotional. You know, at the end of
the day, they've been going at each other heavily. The
father's been going at the trainer. You know, Regis is
saying Devon's not even from the Bay Area because he's
lived in Vegas and see seven calls for the crowd
to excommunicate him from the Bay Area energy. I mean,
it's a lot going on, a lot of exploitives happening
during what ends and press conferences, so business personal. We
(36:12):
also know regis to your point, TJ is an unknown
to casuals. Only diehards know about this guy, so he
knows what stage this is and I think that that's
going to be a factor. But to your point, yes,
Devin has to be laid on his feet and really
watch out for the angles being cut off.
Speaker 7 (36:31):
Now with with Devin hating again, we've touched on the
move up and Wade and regis progray not really having
that defining fight, that defining moment in his career. Whoever
wins this fight, where do who's the next opponent? Where
(36:54):
do they go next? Is it Tiffy Malpez, is it
Ryan Garcia? Is it Rowley? Does Tank?
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Move up? Where do they go next?
Speaker 7 (37:03):
Because both of these fighters are going to be looking
for that big fight to kind of make them a
pay per view fighter, put them on that next level
of superstart them.
Speaker 5 (37:13):
Absolutely when we're talking about this division, you're right, we're
talking about Roly, who you know, for better or for worse,
he's a champion now and I only say that because
the way he won was a little controversial. But Tia
Femo is in the division as a champ WBO, Felt
and the Ring, and then we have Suebell Matias. So
my thing is this, we know Devon is trying to
inch his way up, probably maybe the welter right now.
(37:36):
He wants to probably clean out the division if he
can at a super light wag junior welter. So I
think Weber Winzess fight. The best fight would probably be
tia Fimo for the fans. Of course, Roly is always
an outlier. He's entertaining, he'll make money for you because
he's a great trash talker. But I think tia Fimo
and Devin have been on a collision course for a while.
(37:57):
I think Devin wants that fight just to kind of
chalk it off fort Lomachenko, and they both fought Lomachenko differently,
and I think that for Devin would probably erase the
bad taste in people's mouths from his fight versus Basily,
where many still believed that facillity won that fight. So
I think Femo's probably next on the menu for whoever wins. Obviously,
Regis would love to get his stuff off against Tia
(38:19):
female Pause, because again that's another make you know, make
you fight in terms of branding, right, you beat Devin,
you beat t O. Now everybody knows this guy. But
I think Roly being there as entertainment and we need
those middle of the road fights that the fans love
just for comical value. And to Bill Matias is just
business in terms of the record books. But I think
it's TiO next up on the menu for whoever wins.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Hey, but listen, listen.
Speaker 4 (38:42):
Uh Devin Handy came out and said that listen, I
donam did idam did everything I could do at one
at one thirty five, he's undisputed, So why couldn't they
make the Javonte Davis fight Hayen happened at one thirty five.
Speaker 5 (38:55):
Yeah, that's a good point. I think that was more Javanta,
you know, like at the end of the day, is
about money, and I think for Tank, you know, it's
gonna always break down and not regard when it comes
to Devin because we're talking about major egos and just
like Erol Spence Terrence. Remember Terrence took a short a
short you know, stack to do that fight, but obviously
(39:16):
he gained all the rewards. I don't think Devin feels
like he's gonna have to do that to fight Tank.
I do think they're past Mike Rusz. You know, maybe
one day money talks. We know Tanks that he don't
want to box that much longer, So we'll see what happens.
But right now, Devon is on the path to try to,
in his words, try to clear out divisions. I think
(39:36):
Tank at this point. I'm not going to say he's coasting,
but I don't think Tank has the same hunger for
belt as he does for cash. So I think right
now he's doing whatever he got to do to get
the most bread.
Speaker 6 (39:46):
We appreciate you coming on, Rett Man. I'll tell you
that's gonna be a big fight tonight. We're super excited
to check it out. I should be hanging with you
to see it. That's that's Red Butler from Pretty Left Hook.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
That's t J.
Speaker 6 (39:57):
Huschman is out of Plexica Burs. I'm LeVar Rington gonna
wrap this this this hour, but we'll be back on
the other side. We're going to talk some basketball and
uh well yeah, we'll bring our guy cups of legend
on as well. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio up
on game, we'll be right back
