Get this PUNI you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
All right, all right, welcome into hour two. If you
were here with us in hour one, it was a
pretty cool, some really great conversations a hour one. If
you missed any of it, make sure you check it
out on the podcast. Just wherever it is you get
them from. Look up up on game and it's on
Fox Sports Radio. Yes it is hour two. And you
know what, before we get into talking about basketball, we're
(01:01):
gonna finish off on talking a little bit more football.
We're gonna talk George Pickens, but we will get to
the NBA. Draymond had some interesting things to say. Angry
black man, let's talk about it. There's a few other
things going on. The playoffs have become very very intense,
and well, some people's predictions were on, some people's predictions
were off. We'll get to all those things and more.
(01:24):
But when you hear the sound of this, this is
when you know a legendary person is coming on the show.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Now it's time to check in with Cuffs, the legend
from some dude show podcast on up on Game Presents,
Cuffs is giving you a spicy takes on what's going
down to take the heat like Lebron and now here's
Cuffs the legend.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
It's cold time.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Legend leg.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
All right, as it has become a main stay part
of the team, Cuffs the legend joins us.
Speaker 5 (02:01):
How you feel in Cuffs? We got a lot to
get to, man.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
First off, I want to say Happy Mother's Day, dude,
my mother, my beautiful mother, my beautiful grandmother who's still living,
and my beautiful wife. Happy Mother's Day to y'all. Y'all
might want to call y'all mothers as well, because we
are getting cinema tonight in Madison Square Gardens. Begin Cinema,
(02:26):
Begin Cinema. I think we're gonna get.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
No, no, no, no, no no no.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Hold on to that because we are not doing basketball
till the next segment. Cuffs, No, no, you got to
hold on to Madison Square Garden. But I like, ready,
I see you ready, and I see how you came
and you came in hot. I saw that you were
moving your puppies. I saw that. But speaking of moving
the puppies, here's what we got to do, Cuffs, because
people don't know that you.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
Talk football too well.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
There was a trade that took place between the Dallas
Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I wanted to get
all of y'all's opinion on this. George Pickens ends up
in Dallas playing for the Dallas Cowboys and leaves the
Pittsburgh Steelers. Here's what the GM Omar Kahn had to
(03:15):
say about the trade taking place. But on the other
side of that sound, I want to get y'all's opinion
on who won the trade. Do you think this is
a good trade should have happened. Here's what the GM
had to say at the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
You know, we just kind of talked about it, you know,
lots of serious conversation on as conversations, and he just
felt that a fresh start for both sides was the
right thing, all.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Right, fellas?
Speaker 6 (03:39):
What was I mean?
Speaker 5 (03:40):
My quick two cents on a fresh.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Start for both sides was necessary? Says to me that
that sounds like a relationship gone bad. Like that's something
I would say about if I broke up with somebody
and was ready to move on and start dating somebody else,
and most likely for the person that was dated her
that I was dating. You gotta make sure, I guess
you clarify those things these days, the woman I'd be
(04:05):
dating at the time, I would certainly say that it
just seems like there needs to be a new start,
a fresh start for both of us. I e translation,
get your ass on. I need to move on, and
so do you. What would y'all's take on this man?
It just sounds like a relationship that didn't work out,
and instead of paying him and extending him, you trade
(04:26):
him and see if you could get some value out
of anything that you could pull away with George Pickens
in the situation, what do you guys say?
Speaker 6 (04:34):
I'm sure, I'm sure, go ahead, cuffs, you got it,
go ahead.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
No, I just think he I think he's such a
combustible player, you know, I think I think Dallas is
taking a real risk on him and he needs to
change the scenery though, and if you put him together
with Cede Lamb, I think by week two of week three,
once they start to figure it out, Like you got
a guy, you got a guy like Pickings. He averaged
like fifteen yards per recession, so he can get down
(04:58):
the scenes. He can he can really work a few.
I like it from a football standpoint, but the locker
room stuff, it's a lot of baggage with Pickings, So
Ceedee Lamb is kind of a diva, gotta be real.
CD is kind of a diva. Then you bring it
in Pickings, you got two combustible guys. I just feel
like that's the part. Dak Presscott is going to have
to step up and be a leader because both of
(05:20):
those guys are going to demand the ball. So it's
like you're gonna be dealing with those guys and the
first time you underthrow or overthrow Pickings, he gonna throw
his proverbial tantrums. We've seen the tantrums. So it's like
Dak Prescott is the guy that's gonna have to corral
these guys in and be a real leader. So the
leadership stuff is gonna come down to deck. I think
Dak is gonna have to bring these guys together because
(05:41):
they both gonna be clamoring for the ball so much,
and he's gonna have to figure that out as a quarterback.
Speaker 7 (05:47):
I believe Plexico he's gonna be able to speak to
this better than I can because he played for Mike Tomlin.
Mike Tomlin is a coach that his players that kind
of told the line and may step over it. He
gives them a little leeway, he lets them be them,
and then after a while he's like, I can't deal
with it anymore. George Pickens had stepped over and crossed
(06:09):
the line a bit too many times. And I know
people that play with the Steelers. He'd be late for
the team playing that would be flying out to away games.
Multiple times, he'd be late to get on the team bus.
And they just they had enough of it. They didn't
want to pay him thirty plus million dollars and these
(06:32):
antics are probably just gonna get worse because you're not
even making anywhere near that and you're doing all this.
Now what you're gonna do when you get the money,
And so they said, you know what, we're gonna get
rid of him, Dallas. He's your problem, but he's gonna
be a really good problem because if you don't learn
from this, a team that needs weapons got rid of
you because they're tired of the antics. So I believe
(06:55):
this will be a wake up call for George Pickens.
I know him, but I don't know him very well.
Trained a little bit when he came out for the combine.
That boy can flat limp. That boy, that young man
can flat out play football.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
He's a really good receiver with great ball skills.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Man.
Speaker 7 (07:13):
I believe we are going to see the best of
George Pickens with the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 8 (07:19):
I mean I really believe that, man, you know, just
to you know, piggyback up everything you just said about
Mike Tomlin Man, you know what walking.
Speaker 6 (07:27):
Into that building.
Speaker 8 (07:28):
Man, and I've been late, you know, to meetings and
been to the bus and late to the bus, and
they're one of the I think that a very they
don't really find like finding players like they give you
so much leeway and so much you know, extended lesha.
Speaker 6 (07:46):
You say to yourself like then, like how can I
mess this up? You know what?
Speaker 8 (07:50):
Because it's all about football over there, and they give
you that respect of a young man to govern yourself
and to be able to basically manage Jones career while
you inside of the building.
Speaker 6 (08:02):
Playing a performing on the football field.
Speaker 8 (08:05):
Is a different story when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
So for Mike Tomlin to beat to the step to
the side and say, you know what he doing us.
He is doing this organization to myself more harm than
he's helping us. And he lets them and he trades them.
That's that's when you know it's really bad when it
comes to Mike Tomlin because he man, he is one
of the most patient coaches that I've probably ever played for.
(08:30):
With his demeanor, how you approach the situations when you're
not doing the things that he used to that you're
supposed to be doing. He'll come to you as a
young man, he address, ay, man, listen, I need you
to tighten this up. I need you to do this
all right now, Let's go out and play still a football.
That is that That is how Mike Tomlin governs his
team and the locker.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
Room basically pleases it on self.
Speaker 8 (08:49):
So now flip flip to uh to George Pickens, going
to Dallas. I'm surprised by that move because I played
for uh Brian Seatonhamma when he was the office coordinated
for the New York Jets. But I understand it the
coin of the style of offense that he wants to play.
He wants to throw the football and he knows that
(09:10):
if he wants to win and take some of that
pressure off of Ceedee Lamb, he has to have the
guy another guy on the other side to be able
to go out and make plays.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
Now, if you're Dallas Cowboys and then.
Speaker 8 (09:20):
Give you Dak Prescott, you basically have two number one
wide receivers on each side. It's a great position for
him to begin. I think that Cuffy, you just said
that Ceedee Lamb is a diva. He's a diva, but
this young man is proving he's one of the hardest
workers and all the football And I think when George
Pickens gets beside Ceedee Lamb and to see that the
(09:43):
way that this man practices and the way that he
goes about his craft, I think that George Pickens will
have no choice but to get in line and to
follow Ceedee Lamb's lead. And if he does, they may
have one of the top two duo and all of
football behind Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
You know what's interesting, not one of y'all mentioned how
this impacts or affects what's going on with the Steelers.
Speaker 6 (10:11):
They're not winning, it don't matter.
Speaker 7 (10:13):
Wait they hey, plex, did you say who's the best
duos in football?
Speaker 6 (10:17):
One more time? Jordan Madison and Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 7 (10:21):
Did you forget about that duo down in the Queen
City in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
They got a nice duo there too.
Speaker 6 (10:27):
That's the best duo in football.
Speaker 7 (10:29):
I mean, that's debatable. It's debatable. No, that's not debatable.
They're the best duo. The second best duo is the
Purple People Eaters Justin Jefferson and Jordanaison.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
That's a nice one.
Speaker 6 (10:41):
That's the second best.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Due listen, if Boyd stays healthy and is out there
on the field.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
That it's hard to debate that.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
It's hard to debate that that's a dope tandem that
you have in duo. And and those guys right there.
But I mean, y'all not saying Metcalf and Woods we
know where not with Mason Rudolph throwing them the ball
all right now, But everybody is basing what they're saying
off of a suit to go back, Rogers, who's going
to come out, gohad to go back to.
Speaker 6 (11:07):
What you just said.
Speaker 8 (11:08):
How this Hurst the Pittsburgh steell is they didn't get
any better. I don't believe that, when it comes down
to playing the position and playing the game of football,
that DK metcalf is a better wide receiver than George Pickens.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
I would not I will not agree to the I
would not agree to that.
Speaker 8 (11:25):
We know that George Pickens when he's when he's playing
and he's focused, he's one of the top five ball
players at the position. There's no there's no disputing that,
There's no doubt about it. But we got to get
the young man focused so we can reach his full
potential and become one of these elite wide receivers in
all of football. This this is what we know. But
(11:48):
I played in this offense. I played in this organization.
If you want to become an elite wide receiver outside
of what Antonio Brown was able to do for those
six years, the Pittsburgh Steels are going to run the football.
You're not going to have those stats of one hundred
plus one hundred and ten hundred and fifteen catches as
(12:09):
a wide receiver playing for the Pittsburg Steelers because they
are going to establish a run game. They're gonna throw
the ball thirty thirty five times a game, and you
have to take advantage of the opportunities that you have
because you're not gonna be in an offense where the
Pittsbrook Steels is gonna line up and throw the ball
(12:30):
forty five fifty times a games. That's not gonna happen
now in Dallas. If he's getting ten, eleven, twelve plus targets,
now we're gonna see George Picking takeoff and be that
elite wide receiver that we know he can be.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
We gotta get to the break.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
But I will say this, the last time I can
recall a receiver left Pittsburgh and went and had success
somewhere else was one Plexico Burst. I can't sit there
and say that for the Mike Wallace's, the Antonio Browns,
the Chase Claypools, you know, any of them that you
want to throw out there, I don't Maybe a manual,
(13:04):
maybe a Manuel, yeah.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
Emmanuel Sanders could be one you could throw on the.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
List, but great, great success, I'd probably say is Plexico bursts.
So I don't know what that means in terms of
what they do in Pittsburgh. But I say the second
thing that's the most damning thing about what you just
said is they traded for a number one receiver and
DK Metcalf that you just said, the guy that they
just traded away is better than which means that the
(13:32):
number two option receiver in Dallas is better than the
number one option receiver in Pittsburgh. Y'all, let that one
man and I stand by ten toes down on that heel. Hey, listen,
we're gonna take a quick break, and then we are
going to move those ten toes. Call it the puppies
as cuffs, the legend says, And we're gonna talk some roundball,
(13:52):
talk some basketball. Draymond Green, Yeah, his technical foul agenda.
We're going to bring that up. And you heard Cuffs
come in super hot about Madison Square Garden and Mother's Day.
So y'all make sure y'all stay locked in, tuned in.
This is up on gang. It's it's TJ. Huchman Zada,
It's Plexico Burst, its cuffs, the legend I'm LeVar Rington.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Right, fellas, So now it is time to talk some basketball.
We got cuffs, the legend in on the show.
Speaker 5 (15:13):
Uh, we got.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
TJ, we got plex Uh, Fellas, Draymond came out of
the last game very very intentional. In his postgame interview,
he was very upset, he was very irritated. And uh,
you said combustion, ken, combulsive or what.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
Was the word that you used. Cuffs?
Speaker 6 (15:35):
It was.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
It was something that was very combustible, very famous.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
We know he is a sag and off strangler.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
That's his nickname, which is funny as hell.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Which knowing obviously Plexico went to the same college and Lansing, uh,
the Michigan State Boys.
Speaker 9 (15:53):
Man.
Speaker 5 (15:53):
Well, there's there's a reputation connected to the Michigan State Boys,
but we'll hold that for another time.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Here's what Draymond had to say postgame interview after getting
all the technicals. Is there an agenda here? Let's take
a listen.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
It looks like the angry black man.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
I'm not an angry black man.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
I'm a very successful, educated black man with a great family,
and I'm great at basketball.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
I'm great at what I do. To the agenda to.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Try to keep making me look like an angry black man,
that's crazy.
Speaker 6 (16:18):
I'm sick of it.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
It's ridiculous. I mean, who wants to have at it first?
Speaker 1 (16:25):
I mean, is this an agenda to make him seem
like he's an angry black man?
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Hell now?
Speaker 1 (16:32):
If you want to say hell now, you can say
hell now because you know what it is for me.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
It is for me, But go ahead.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Cups, I gotta speak on it. Because I'm kind of
stuck in a weird place because I know Draymond personally.
You know, he invited me in my pods to a game.
I went to the game. I met him. He's a
cool dude, like he said, he's a cool guy in
real life. So I've gotten a chance to see Draymond
the personality he had, Like he said, he's a great
family guys, the sagging off stranglers from a rough place.
(17:02):
He's from the trenches. But Draymond Green Man like he
has to cut it out, like he has to face
the reality. He has to be more accountable for his
actions because he is not an angel on the court.
This is the same guy that's out there doing WWF
cocob ware rastling moves on the basketball court. And I
(17:23):
think it's reached a point where it's like Draymond, cut
it out.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
Bro.
Speaker 3 (17:28):
It's like you have no self awareness, Like I could
see if this was like a like a player who
never gets into any type of stuff on the court,
like a low key guy who's somebody that comes to mind,
is never in anything like a Hord Grant when hert
Grant plays for the Bulls. He was a physical player
on the court. You never saw Hard Grant really get
into it too much unless somebody pushed him. Draymond is
(17:51):
always in positions where it feels like he's the instigator,
Like he's elbowing guys, he's putting guys in the figure
four leg lock on the ground on the court. It's insane, right,
So I.
Speaker 5 (18:05):
Feel like Draymond, he's abusive man. He's an NBA abuser.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Like there should be cases on him for some of
the stuff he's done to.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Abuse people pulling the NBA.
Speaker 5 (18:15):
But go ahead, guy, go ahead.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
It's insane. So I just feel like Draymond, like, no,
you're not an angry black man. I don't I don't
want to make this into race. It's not about race.
You're You're just a player, right, You're an angry basketball player.
And we understand the competitive twitch. Like that's like we
just said, you're from Saginaw. We know the backstory how
you came up. You came up in a rough environment,
(18:39):
and you have to have that competitive edge to stay
in the NBA. And I feel like that competitive edge
has allowed Draymond to stay around as long because he
is kind of medium washed, like he's he's averaging a
triple single. He don't have no impressive stats anymore. He's
not a type of player, but he brings that fire,
that tenacity. But I think sometimes Draymond, it just boils
(19:00):
into foolishness. It's foolishness at this point.
Speaker 7 (19:03):
What makes Draymond such a great player is what now
is a detriment to himself and his team is his
ability to seem like he's playing under a bunch of chaos.
But that's just who he is. And I'll be honest
with you. I met Draymond a few times. He came
(19:26):
to a football camp out here in La Football camp,
not a basketball camp. Football camp. The kids were happy
to see him. But this one thing, Draymond has brought
this on himself. He has the most technical fouls, the
most flagrant fouls of any NBA player since he's been
in the league. But again, I don't fault it because
(19:47):
I'm very similar to Draymond when it comes athletics. If
I feel you cheat me, I'm a voice, my opinion,
and if you're not listening, I'm a voice. It a
little louder, and I'm gonna just do what I gotta do.
And so I don't fault them for it. When I
watch it, I smile and the people around me like,
that's you.
Speaker 6 (20:04):
That's like that.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
But you're you're you, you are you were an angry
dude bro like as a player, Like before I knew
who you were, like knew you, knew you personally, I
was like, dog, why is this dude so pissed off?
Speaker 6 (20:16):
Man?
Speaker 5 (20:16):
Like he always upset? Like why are you always upset?
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Like That's how I thought about you before I met
you and knew who you were. But you wasn't out
there punching dudes upside the head football kick that football.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
You can dirty, but you can see dudes that are dirty.
Speaker 7 (20:32):
And if you made me man in the football game,
I was just gonna run ahead but you or I
was gonna try to put my helmet up under your
chin like I would do that type of stuff, you know,
And but it was it was a different game. Physicality
was allowed back then. I mean, dray Mind, the same
guy that knocked his own teammate out, dropped him dropping
he gitting with that, Terrence Crawford dropped and so he
(20:57):
as to what Cuff said, at some point, you got
to be accountable. But I'm not gonna lie to you, man,
I laugh at it.
Speaker 6 (21:04):
It does look like wow.
Speaker 7 (21:06):
But you when when the stakes are so high Steph
Curry is out, you have to be able to maintain
your composure because if Dramon Green gets suspended, it's already over.
Speaker 6 (21:19):
Man.
Speaker 7 (21:20):
They might not score sixty seventy points, it's over if
he If he gets suspended one game, that is one
hundred percent loss. Even if Curry does come back, the
series is over.
Speaker 6 (21:31):
I listen. I know Dreammond very well, man, you know obviously.
Speaker 8 (21:35):
And I think what surprised me the most about his
antics the other night was the way that he was
conducting himself when the team was in the current situation
that they.
Speaker 6 (21:50):
Were with no Steph Curry.
Speaker 8 (21:52):
And that kind of really said to myself that, damn,
he really don't give a damn.
Speaker 6 (21:57):
That's crazy.
Speaker 8 (21:59):
But you know, if he does it in the regular season,
it's not so much magnified as it is now. But
I think the fact that he did it on that
stage when everything is on the line and you're and
they're trying to get back into this series to make it,
you know, a respectable and win a basketball game knowing
(22:20):
that you don't have the Babyface Assassin out there and
you guys are just struggling to get baskets and you're
the probably the best scoring option that they have on
a basketball team, and you put yourself in a situation
to probably get kicked out of the game. If you
can't conduct yourself with all of those, uh, you know,
various things going on around you, then it's hard to support.
Speaker 6 (22:43):
And I ain't gonna lie, man, you know, seeing an.
Speaker 8 (22:46):
Interview and listening to to saying, you know, listen to
the things that he had to say. He may not
feel like he's an angry black man, but it looks
that way. That's the way that it looks to me,
and it looks to everybody else. And he made me
sick of the narrative that he's an angry black man.
Speaker 6 (23:02):
But that's the way that it looks and it comes off.
Speaker 7 (23:05):
So you're saying, perception is reality in this situation, you
can't defend it because it's like you said, here's the
most technical files in this series or in the NBA
since he's come in and we've seen it continue to
continue to happen.
Speaker 8 (23:19):
But I said to myself the other night, I said, damn, like,
what are we trying to prove everybody knows that who
you are, your full time world champion, Defensive Player of
the Year, You're you're, you know, a great defender. You
play with a great tenacity on defense. You leave with
your heart, you play with emotion. But at the same time,
(23:40):
you get to this point in your career and I
was saying, like, damn Drake, Damndy, just relaxed, man, calm down,
the team needs you. And he was still going off.
You still had to get off the bench kind of
calm him down. Jenny Butler, come calm down. And I'm saying,
I'm like, damn dog, just like relax, the team needs you.
Speaker 6 (23:58):
Man. To try to pull it a little bit.
Speaker 8 (24:01):
And it was nothing now, it was like it was
Opening Night. He didn't even recognize the circumstances that he
was in. That's why it's hard for me. But that's
my that's my brother man. I love him to death.
But when he sit there and says that he doesn't
he's sick of the narrative of being the angry black men.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
That is what he's putting out there.
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Let me throw this one out, y'all. How many games
is Steph Curry projected to be out.
Speaker 7 (24:28):
Man, Steph Curry. He projected to be out till next Wednesday.
Steph Curry, Right, Steph Curry, not playing no more. You
strain a hamstring as soon as you sprint. Take away
one week back. One week is not enough, even if
he come back.
Speaker 8 (24:44):
Even if he does come back, man, you know, a
hamstring lingual ain't no sprinting.
Speaker 7 (24:48):
He's not gonna be healthy until Hey, it would be
no sprinting. It would be a bunch of jogging.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Okay, think about this, fellas he had there, there are
at least three more game games two two to three
more games.
Speaker 6 (25:01):
Right, twoo games before he comes back.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Okay, he's got Draymond has only got two more two
more technicals before he gets suspended. So Draymond makes it
a point to average an incident per game, and those
those incidents lead to technical fouls.
Speaker 7 (25:22):
Hey, LaVar, let's be honest, though a lot of the
times the refs spare them, they don't even give them
technically when they probably should.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
That's going, I mean, that's going into a whole another
category of Draymond green.
Speaker 6 (25:36):
Because we're talking about professional sports.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
Bro people talk about how Draymond has desensitized the referees
all the time. If anybody else does a smidge of
what Draymond Green does out there, they get they.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
Get teed up.
Speaker 6 (25:54):
He's earned that, he's earned. Go with me on this.
Speaker 8 (25:58):
Draymond Green has established himself in this league that as
soon as the game starts, well, first quarter, the first
five to ten minutes of this game, he's going to
do something that grecious to make the referees make a call.
So there he knows moving forward what they are going
to allow him to get away with. So for the
(26:21):
rest of the game, some point with that with this
attitude or a file or whatever the case may be,
so he can have that interaction, interaction with the referee
moving forward for the rest of the game.
Speaker 6 (26:35):
So he knows exactly what he's dealing with.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
But if you can't do that with any runway to
get a technical foul, then you can't do that. You
can't do what.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
Draymond Green does. But I feel like, hold on, I
feel like what he's doing right now is he's he's
hitting on a card and he's hitting on a cord.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
Because our culture right now is very racially driven, like
the whole after the election and all this.
Speaker 5 (26:59):
If you're right, if you're left.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Our whole culture has our society has gone crazy on
race relations and black power and Democrats and Republicans and
all these different things that's playing out in other spaces,
and there's a lot of pressure that comes into play.
Draymond Green hit a buzz, He hit a buz and
(27:21):
you know me, plau I, you know you see me
in action. Hey, you got to use the buzzwords when
you want to get the results that you want to get.
By saying I am not an angry black man. Basically,
he's called upon the whole entire people that in community
that supports saying, do not paint us at a picture
of being angry black people.
Speaker 6 (27:42):
Right.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
That's going to put a ton of pressure, like a
million pounds of pressure on those referees. Who's going to
be the referee that calls the technical that gets Draymond Green, Mark,
They spend.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
It Mark Davis because he's black.
Speaker 6 (27:56):
Mark Davis ain't gonna blink.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
I don't know that there's going to be an NBA
ref that wants to deal with what comes along with
the At least if I'm Draymond Green, I'm looking at
this strategically positioning myself saying I am not the angry
black man you have summoned the entire community that comes
back like, yeah, he's not an angry black man. He's
(28:22):
just playing basketball. Y'all better not give him a technical y'all.
Speaker 8 (28:26):
Y'all want to point further, Go ahead, I'm gonna taking
a step further. They can't wait to give him a
technical file. They can't wait to give it to him
down or I'm gonna sit you down.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
Black, I'm gonna take it this step further. I don't
know if y'all have noticed this over the years when
it comes to Draymond Green, but whenever Steph Curry is
unavailable and Steph Curry shits out, he actually comes into
the game sometime ready to get kicked out. He's ready
to get Yeah, I saw that in game too. Draymond
(29:02):
was trying to get toss in Game two because he
knew they were about to go to the woodshed, so
he want to go ahead and hit the showers early,
you know, go back there and you know check his phone.
He was ready to call him the night early. So
you got to watch out for Draymond because he's very
he's very sneaky and clever when it comes to that.
Speaker 8 (29:19):
All right, wow, So let's transition to the to the
next series.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
Cuffs.
Speaker 8 (29:23):
What you got man, you said it's gonna be magical
on It's gonna be a on thirty fourth Street.
Speaker 6 (29:29):
Let me know what's in your bag.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
I'm kind of torn plaques because on one hand, you
got the Knicks with all the momentum. They're riding high,
They're going into the garden. You know, the garden is
gonna be rocking fight. You know, Tracy Morgan's gonna be there.
I hope he don't throw up on the court tonight.
Speaker 6 (29:45):
It's gonna be crazy.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
It's gonna be crazy in the garden. The ticket prices,
we've seen the ticket prices insane. But on the other hand,
I feel like this is the moment where Jason Tatum
can change it in there vative forever about him going
into the garden down two, Everybody calling you saft, everybody
calling Jalen brownsoft. They seeing break up the Celtics, por
(30:12):
zingets on the trade block, Drew Hollay on the trade block.
They talking about blowing this up. I've even seen people
saying behind the scenes, Jalen Brown could be headed to
Milwaukee for Yanni's in a package. So everything is on
the line tonight in Madison Square Gardens, and I want
to see what Jason Tatum is going to do. Nobody else.
(30:34):
I want to see Jason Tatum thirty five, forty because
we've seen this. We've seen this a few years ago
when they played the Miami Heat and it went seven.
We've seen Tatum step up in that game six. We've
seen them step up against the Bucks a couple of
years ago in big games. But this right here is
different because there's real rumblings about breaking this team up.
(30:55):
Brad Stevens. They're talking about breaking this team up. So
they cannot go down three to the Knicks. Because who
wants to really see the paces the Knicks in the
in the Eastern Conference.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
I might believe that that's that that tastes.
Speaker 7 (31:11):
What Mosola needs to do is anytime Jalen Brunton gets
below the free throw line, they need to double them.
Speaker 6 (31:21):
Somebody else has to beat you.
Speaker 7 (31:22):
You cannot continue to let Jalen Brunson because one on one,
I don't care who the defender is, He's scoring. Once
he gets to that free throw line, you gotta send
a double team his way. But they're gonna have to
do something because man, I gotta agree with you one man,
it's gonna be tough for the Boston Celtics to get
out of Madison Square Garden to they man three thirty. Man,
(31:44):
if y'all don't understand the playoff atmosphere, what the garden
is like is truly something to witness.
Speaker 6 (31:51):
But the fact that they're.
Speaker 8 (31:52):
Going in there playing the Boston Celtics up too oh
and this today will basically, well, the Knicks will basically
win the series.
Speaker 6 (32:02):
It's gonna be tough for him to get out of there.
Speaker 8 (32:03):
But it's like you said, Couch Man, if Jason Tatum
can find a way to go in in and get
him a winner day and get back to Boston for
a Game five, this man can change the narrative of
what everybody thinks about him as a player moving forward.
And it's not a better moment for him to step up,
man and to lead this team and to going to
(32:26):
this building at three thirty to day at Massis guir
Garden and win this basketball game. I think that if
they follow his team, he's gonna need one of those
thirty five to forty point games, There's no doubt about it.
And Jalen Brown is gonna have to find a way
to assert himself in this basketball game offensively. Also, it
(32:48):
just can't beat Jason Tatum. Jalen Brown needs to get
back to the duo that they were last year, him
scoring thirty five, Jaylen's scoring twenty seven to twenty eight,
playing defense, getting blocks, getting stills, getting out of transition,
whatever the case may be. But the boss and celtis
Jason Tatley. If you're talking about a legacy moment for
(33:10):
a young man moving forward today.
Speaker 6 (33:13):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Yeah, Well, we'll see how that all plays out, because
they have definitely played theirselves into a have to climb
out of a whole situation. But hey, make sure y'all
check it out. But I'll tell you who delivers for us.
There's a guy by the name of Isaac Loewenkrawn.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
That's right. Let's get an update from him.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
Ilo, give us the goods because I know you going
deliver what you got always.
Speaker 10 (33:36):
Starting with the big news that four time Pro Bowl
quarterback Derek Carr the New Orleans Saints announced his retirement
today after eleven seasons due to a torn labor as
well as significant degenerative changes to his rotator cuff. Cars
said of his career in a statement, I've been incredibly
blessed and forever grateful and humbled by this experience. The
(33:56):
Saints quarterback room now presently consists of Spencer Rattler, Jake Hayn,
and rookie Tyler Shuck. Today's NBA playoff action tips off
at three thirty Eastern with Game three from Madison Square
Garden and the New York Knicks leading the Boston Celtics
two games to none. Then at eight to thirty Eastern,
it's Game three from San Francisco is the Golden State
(34:17):
Warriors host of Minnesota Timberwolves, with that series tied at one,
and in reference to your Draymond Draymond Green conversation for
the record, the officials for that game David Guthrie, Mitchell Irvin,
and Scott Foster. Today's Stanley Cup playoff action faces off
at six pm Eastern from Carolina with the Hurricanes and
(34:38):
Washington Capitals tied at one.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
Winnipeage LeVar back to.
Speaker 1 (34:41):

Speaker 5 (35:03):

Do for some picks. Are you up on game?
Speaker 6 (36:26):
Let's creak this up. Let's break it up game?
Speaker 1 (36:31):
All right, my guy, what exactly do we have, pat
because I'll tell you what I don't know if you
have the rundown or the catch on the totals of the.
Speaker 5 (36:44):
Smashing these boys. I know you are smashing on that, LeVar.
Speaker 9 (36:47):
I do see that he took Denver and the Over
and the Warriors in the Over, So I know you
are very much cooking with that one.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
I know I see.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
Tell them who won?
Speaker 5 (36:59):
Who won?
Speaker 6 (36:59):
Who?
Speaker 7 (37:00):
What?
Speaker 5 (37:00):
Do you got the total?
Speaker 9 (37:01):
I don't have the totals totals just Bo gave me
just the who you guys picked? But he didn't give
me that.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
All right, Well, get goot who picked?
Speaker 9 (37:07):
What?
Speaker 6 (37:08):
What?
Speaker 5 (37:08):
Who won? Who won?
Speaker 6 (37:10):
Who?
Speaker 8 (37:10):
Not?
Speaker 6 (37:10):
LeVar? Not tell them who? Tell them who won? Cuffs one.
Speaker 9 (37:17):
It was Coas the legend d Cus Legend one.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
Well, let's go with that. Let's go with the New
week ridiculous. We got, let's go so we got say.
Speaker 1 (37:28):
The Sun shines on a blind Dog's ass once, and
it's like, let's go.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Come on, all right.
Speaker 9 (37:33):
So we got the Boston Celtics at the New York
Knicks today. Boston is a six and a half point
favorite on the road. Over under is let's see two
hundred and eight point five.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
I'm gonna take the over and and Boston's gonna cover.
I'm gonna take the over and Boston's gonna cover. Go ahead,
all right, Yeah, I'm gonna take the over. But I
don't think they're gonna cover. I think it's gonna be
a close game. I think the celt has been by
two or three.
Speaker 7 (37:58):
I'll take the over and I'll like the Boston Celtics
and the blog. They are fighting for their playoff lives.
They lose this game, it's over statement will be made.
They'll win by fifteen plus.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
I'm taking the Celtics Jason Tatum Legacy game. I'm taking
the over.
Speaker 9 (38:15):
Who Okay, I like it? Well, all right, sorry, got
everybody's here. We're gonna go with the second game. We
got the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Golden State Warriors. Minnesota
is five and a half point favorite. Over under is
two hundred point five. We're gonna go first with mister
the Legend himself cuffs you go first.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
I'm gonna go under. It's gonna be an ugly game.
Rudy Gobert, It's gonna be an ugly game. I'm going
to under, but I say the Wolve's gonna take it.
So I'm gonna take the Wolves in the money line
to win straight up.
Speaker 6 (38:45):
Yeah, I'm gonna take Minnesota. Man. I can't believe I'm
saying this, but no, Steph Curry. Man.
Speaker 8 (38:50):
So there's really gonna be no scoring for Golden State.
But I'm gonna take the over. I think it's gonna
be one of those old Western shootouts. I'm taking the
oval and the over on the points. I'm taking Minnesota
with the spread.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
Follow that cab and everything that Plexico just said.
Speaker 7 (39:03):
Follow that cab. I got the Minnesota Timberwolves and the over.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Buddy Hill is going to show up for for these boys.
He's he's been an unsunny hero for them. He's going
to hit a few major points. I'm taking an upset.
I'm going to take the under on the points. But
I will say this, I believe Golden State is going
to pull this one off.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
So I'm going with a Golden State.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
Well, you know you ain't winning this week.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
This week, I just had to cut against the grain
on y'all because y'all, y'all, y'all taxi taxi cab chasing
around here, so you know, y'all want to ride in
the same car.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
Pause.
Speaker 1 (39:39):
But you know I'm I'm gonna go with Golden State.
I still like experience in these games. All right, Pat,
what's up that?
Speaker 5 (39:47):
That's up on games? And that's it for that's it
for the week. That's it's all right. Okay, Well, there
you go.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
I feel like I closed this thing out super strong
with an unsuspecting pick of the Golden State Warriors. Stay tuned,
because I do dominate. I have no idea how cuffs
the legend did what he did and actually won the guy.
I think if they're all put together, I come out
on top. But with that being said, you know what,
I am not an angry black man. I'm just a
(40:13):
happy man. And you know what, I happen to be
Black as well and Plexico burst, well he stretched armstrong
and you know TJ, he's pad team man and well cuffs,
well he's the legendary. So hope you'll enjoyed the show.
We got Jonas Knox coming up next. This is up
on Game.
Speaker 5 (40:29):
Enjoy your weekend Fox Sports Radio
