(01:33):
got a legendary moment coming up in a matter of moments.
It's Drew Brees and yes, he is going to talk
about going from Well San Diego and the impact of
being in New Orleans with coach Peyton. We talked about
Russell Wilson earlier TJ. Huschman Zada, and we talked about
(01:57):
the possibilities of what that relationship houring look like or
what it could have been as the reason why Sean
Payton didn't want to go in that direction further with
Russell Wilson at the quarterback's position. But before we go
into that, how you feeling man? Hour two? How are
you feeling like? Feeling good?
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Man?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
First hour went by fast?
Speaker 5 (02:19):
You know they they got fast, flying right on by,
feeling good. Ready to give them another another good hour.

Speaker 2 (02:30):

Speaker 5 (02:30):
We're gonna get cuffs caught talk a little round ball.
So yeah, looking forward to the second hour, and there's
no Plexico here today, so it will be discussing what's
going on with the LA Lakers. But until then, let's
get this going.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Legendary moment conversations with a legend and now this is
your legendary moment. How important was it for you to
connect with Sean Payton And how much of a difference
was that for you moving forward in your career or
(03:09):
would it have been that if they just continued on
with you and San Diego Because a lot of people
were disappointed that it ended the way that it did
in San Diego, but you end up with Sean Payton,
dope dope coach, and the rest is kind of history.
How important was that? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (03:25):
I mean everybody asked, you know, or speculates as to
what it would have been like had I had a
chance to stay in San Diego. And the unique thing
about San Diego was when I got to Sante I
was drafted there in the second round in two thousand
and one. La Danian Thomlinson was the first round pick.
I was a second round pick, and the next year
Marty sean Era comes in as the coach. But we
were one in fifteen. They were one and fifteen the
(03:46):
year before that was kind of the end of the
Ryan leaf, you know, saga there. So they were one
in fifteen, so bottom of the league, right and it
was but that was to me, that was an opportunity.
It's the same situation we stepped into it, Purdue La
Danian Thompsons, similar situations stepping in TCU under recruited. You
go to a place, you build the program up. So
coming into a situation where we're at the bottom and
we're trying to build the top, like, we love that,
(04:07):
we love that underdog story and said, by the time
we leave here, man, we're gonna be champs. Well five
years later, man, through a bunch of struggle. Shoot, I
had been benched three times. They draft Philip Rivers to
take my job. I've got a scratching claw to remain
the starter. End up getting to a point where finally
it's like, Okay, we're in a position where we're winning
the division, we're a playoff team, We're going to make
(04:27):
a run.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
We've built the roster now to go make a run.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
And then that's when I had the injury at the
end of the very last game of the five season
that basically sent me to New Orleans. But honestly, it
was the best thing that ever could have happened to me. Wow,
because being first off, being a part of that was
greater than just football, right, I mean, that was that
was God's calling in my life. To be a part
of the city absolutely happened. But being with a guy
(04:51):
like Sean Payton who invested so much in me, I mean,
that was what surprised me so much. Was in my
very first meeting with him, he started drawing plays on
the blackboard and He's drawn all the plays.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
That I ran in San Diego.
Speaker 6 (05:05):
And I'm like, wait, coach, I thought you ran West
Coast and you guys were doing He said, no, these
are the things, these are the things that you do well, right,
and so this is going to be a staple in
our offense.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Wow, I said right away.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
I mean, most guys coming, especially in a tough situation,
and say my way or the highway, this is the
way we're doing it. But it was very much a collaboration,
and I felt that way throughout my entire career. There
was definitely that like I gave him that head coach,
respect right, but it was very much a friendship and
a respect and a collaboration with everything that we did,
(05:36):
and I felt like that's what helps us do so
many special things together.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
That was a legendary moment. That was Drew Brees. If
you want to hear the interview and its entirety, all
you have to do is go to wherever it is
that you get your podcast from and look up up
on Game Presents. There's a whole lot of awesome, awesome
legends that are on their awesome interviews, but this one
was pretty timely. I'll say TJ because just listening to
(06:06):
what he had to say, it just made me ultimately
feel as though he just he didn't Sean Payton did
not rock with Russell Wilson. If Sean Payton comes in
and he knows he's getting a veteran quarterback established and
accomplished like Russ, the same way he approached what he
(06:30):
was doing when he got a hold of Drew Brees.
This was a decision. Both were decisions. Now, while he
chose to take over a team versus bring in a player,
it was still a decision he made and I don't
think he makes that decision if he doesn't believe in
Russell Wilson, because we all knew that the La Chargers
(06:51):
job was looming and it was inevitable that it was
going to come available, and it did. But he chose Denver,
and I think Russell Willson had a part in that.
It was interesting to hear Drew Brees say that he
made it so that the things that he was great
at doing was going to be what the staple of
(07:12):
their offense was going to be.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
I believe Russell Wilson was one of the biggest reasons
that Sean Payton went to Denver.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
And we just talked about this earlier.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
You know, he spoke highly of Russell Wilson working at
Fox in twenty twenty two, and so I believe he
felt like what Russ did well Sean Payton, would you know,
they would mesh, they would mesh and what Sean Payte
wants to do and what he did with Drew Brees,
(07:45):
because let's be honest. When when I think of Drew Brees,
I think of Champayne. When I think of Chean Payton,
I think of Drew Brees. They were such a great
tandem that you always put them together like Drew Brees
and Sean Peyton helped each other so much. He helped
(08:06):
Drew as a quarterback. Drew elevated him as a head coach.
I mean they elevated each other. And I felt like
Sean Payton he probably saw that Russell Wilson maybe not
to the level of Drew Brees, but they could help
each other out that that wasn't the case. Drew Brees
a special man. That dude, that dude is special. And
I watched your legendary moment with him and he said, uh,
(08:30):
I know how a Sean Payton offense is supposed to look.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Oh do it? Do it?
Speaker 5 (08:35):
When I watched the game and I'm not seeing in
essence a Sean Payton offense.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
This is not how he wants his offense to look.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
And so when Drew said that, and he's watching from
the couch, he's looking at the game from the television
and from his living room saying, this.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Is not what he's looking for. Timons off.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
Yeah, And so he's not thrown with that anticipation. And
Drew knows what it should look like. And when you
have players that have played for Sean Payton, especially as
prolific as Drew Brees was saying those things. That's the
beginning of the end. And so Drew Brees, man, it's
my same draft class. I remember vividly, second round pick
(09:23):
to the Chargers. They drafted l dani and Thomason with
their first round pick that same year, and Drew Brees
just went on to have a great career after being
counted out coming from that shoulder injury and just kind
of reinvented himself. And kudos is career. Hall of Famer
for sure, one of the nicest people you'll meet. But yeah,
(09:45):
he said it, man, I know what a Sean Payton
offense shouldn't look like and this ain't look like.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
That, and this ain't it. Yeah. I was there when
he said that. Now I was pretty I was like, wow,
I was pretty cut and dry. And he did also
mention going to Purdue to try to turn Purdue into
a winning program. Unfortunately for him, he just couldn't get
(10:13):
it done against them. Niitney lines from Penn State. Man,
I tell you what, had such an amazing time hanging
out in West Lafayette and going in there and hearing
the big drum getting beat on, and you know, and
just just watching Drew Brees and Vinnie Sutherland out there
trying to make it happen, and but you know, the
(10:33):
weight was too heavy to bear TJ. It was just
too heavy to bear, my guy. And you know there
was Niitney line as well. They kept dishing them out
some some some losses. You know what's interesting. Drew Brees
I don't think was like I don't know that he's
a college Hall of Famer, Like I don't know that
he had a college Hall of Fame.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Career, and he probably didn't. And that's which which because
that was a beast in college. He was a be's
in college? So let me look up his did he?
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Because I think you got to be an All American
at least one time in college. That's that's the pre wakersit.
That's one requirements. I think you had to be like
a consensus All American at least once or or what's
the other one consensus And then there's another one that
you couldn't be a playboy All American. You remember that? Yeah,
(11:29):
I do remember that. Joe didn't let me go. He
didn't let me go to He was a second third
team All American, two times first team All Big Ten,
two times second team All Big Ten once he was
never a first team All American. That's crazy to think.
How was he never a first team All American in college?
(11:52):
That's that's amazing to me. Well, that's Drew Brees. And
while he wasn't that in college, he certainly wasn't a
Hall of Famer in the pros. So he'll be a
first Violet Hall of Famer and we appreciated him coming
on and giving us a legendary moment. We're gonna take
a quick breaking on the other side of the break.
That's right. As you heard TJ mentioned earlier, Cuffs the legend.
(12:16):
He will be joining us to talk some round ball

headline stories that Cuffs is feeling good about. So this
is up on game That is TJ. Huchman's Ouda I

I loaded?
Speaker 8 (14:31):
Right you are, LeVar and big news in the NFL today,
multiple outlets reporting that the Denver Broncos are trading receiver
Jerry Judy to the Cleveland Browns. In exchange, Denver gets
a fifth round pick and a sixth round pick in
the upcoming twenty twenty four draft. Also on this Saturday,
(14:52):
Kansas City Chiefs star pass rusher Chris Jones posted an
hour glass emoji on Twitter. Jones is an impending unrestricted
free agent and can begin to negotiate with other teams
on Monday exactly now. In this day and age, a
(15:12):
lot can be gleaned about public reaction from looking in
the comments section. So here is a sampling from the
comments section underneath Jones tweeting the hourglass emoji slim commenting,
what does this mean time's running out? There's plenty of
time or are you clowning us anyway? At kel A
(15:35):
Dalla commenting quote, Pat need to cut you in on
that state farm deal. I'm a nath moom guy exactly.
And finally g Money with some strong words for Chris
Jones commenting, do you want another vacation house or do
you want to make NFL history? Unquote anyway? That sampling
(15:57):
to the reaction out there on Chris Jones tweet. Else Where,
the Philadelphia Eagles signed defensive end Brandon Graham to a
one year extension. Bengals signed offensive alignment Cody Ford to
a one year extension. ESPN reports the Raiders will release
defensive alignment Jerry Tillery. Finally in Major League Baseball, Yankees
manager Aaron Boone told reporters today that infielder Oswald Parrazzo
(16:19):
will be shut down for six to eight weeks due
to a right shoulder injury. Fellas all yours.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Appreciate, enjoy your day. I love you do such an
amazing job. We appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Man, appreciate that like it.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yes, absolutely, it's great to be appreciated. And speaking of
great to be appreciated, we appreciate this next guy as well.
Let's get to it. We got Cuffs the Legend coming on.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Now, it's time to check in with Cuffs the legend
from some Dude show podcast on up on Game Presents,
CUFFSA is giving you a spicy takes on what's going down.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Hope you can pick the heat like Lebron And.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Now here's Cuffs the Legend.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
It's go time. Here it is. When you hear that sound,
you know what time it is from that some Dude show.
Cuffs the Legend joins us, and I mean, I guess
I'll say, hey, how you doing and then let you
and TJ go, we'll talk about your Lakers. So here
we go, Hey, Cuffs, how are you doing? Great? To
(17:21):
great to have you on the show. Uh, you know, okay,
here we go.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
God go ahead, fellas, welcome back. I'm happy to be back.
Many listen, last night.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
We just witness We witnessed last night in Crypto Arena
one of the greatest individual performances we've ever seen by
someone in a Laker's uniform.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Man say that for the people, and hey, cups, let
me ask you this question though, before you get going.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
You you you you.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
Got that de Lo jersey? Yet you got that Oh
my god.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Let me the first.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
Just let me be the first to say I'm very,
very close to having a public apology because you know,
I was one of the people that wanted to see
d Lo get traded because in his career, man, he's
always just realed people in just like this with these
these flashy games. He has the whole toolbox, he has
(18:18):
the charisma, he has the personality, but he's always teased
us in the past, Like even in.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
The playoffs last year.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
He played well those first two rounds, the Memphis series,
the Warriors series, Western Conference Finals against the Nuggets game,
and he just forgot how to play basketball. So right
before the trade deadline, pretty much the entire Laker nation
wanted to see a change made, right. They wanted to
see de Lo get shipped out. And I feel like
(18:46):
he survived that trade deadline. That monkey is off his
back and he is ready for the moment. Like he
is an elite shot maker, not just a shot taker.
His shot making ability, it's second to none other than
the Kyrie type player, like he can really get it going.
And Lebron James is loving this more than anybody because
(19:07):
just like with Kyrie Irban, Lebron loves to play alongside.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Of guard that can catch fire like that.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
And for him to have forty four points career high,
six rebounds, nine assists nine to three pointers is also
a career high. He scored twenty one of the last
twenty seven points in the fourth quarter for the Lakers.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
And I just think if the Lakers.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Can put this in a bottle, Oh my gosh, put
this d low energy in the bottle, this charismas, we
might be going to party city and getting that confetti TJ,
we might be getting that confetti, man, because throw the
record out. I don't care about the record. The Lakers
match up with anybody went healthy and Gave Vinson is
coming back soon. Jarrett Vanderbilt the X factor defensively, the chesspeas.
(19:52):
He's coming back. Nobody wants to see the Lakers if
they're healthy.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
I feel like if I say Denver Nuggets and and
Boston Celtics, are you sneezing? Are you laughing, are you
saying cat like? I hear you talking about get confetti
and all this stuff, and people love talking about the Lakers,
and I know this is y'all's team, and TJ you
could chime in if you want as well. But if
I said, this is heading for what it should have
(20:18):
been matchup wise last year in the finals, in some
way somehow the Celtics they sold us. Do they sell
us again this year? And do the Nuggets sell us?
Or do we get to see the Nuggets and the
Celtics in the championship game this year? Serious?
Speaker 4 (20:34):
I mean, if I take my heart out of this,
I would bet on that. Take your heart out, Yeah,
I take my heart out.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
I would. I would bet this to be.
Speaker 4 (20:42):
The finals matchup. We saw the game the other night.
Jalen Brown showed up to the party. But I am
still worried about Jason Tatum in those bright, those bright
light moments, because Jason Tatum, one of my favorite players,
one of my favorite players, tends to do ear you
know I'm gonna do, guys well, the brotherhood Tatum, he
(21:04):
shrinked sometimes in those big moments, man, Like we saw
in the Golden State Finals a couple of years ago,
and he's gonna have to raise his level because it
seems like whenever Jalen Brown has it going when he's clicking,
sometimes Tatum kind of phased, just watches stands and watches
Jayleen Brown get going. I want to see those games
where both of those guys. You know, they need to
(21:26):
have both of those guys impacting the game offensively, but
it looks like we're on a collision course to see
their finals. It'll be a great match up.
Speaker 3 (21:34):
You can get.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
That's an intriguing matchup because presenters. As we saw the
other night, he can bring Yolkis away from the basket
on that picking pop game.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
If I'm a bet man, I would say Celtis and Nuggets.
Speaker 4 (21:45):
But then it's so wide open because it's gonna come
down to attrition as well. You've seen Steph Curry. He's
dealing with an ankle. So I think a lot of
this is about getting to that finish line, getting into
that play in game, getting into the playoffs healthy.
Speaker 5 (22:00):
Because let's let's get back to the Lakers when this no, no,
and this is this is this I'm wondering with this question.
As you were talking about D'Angelo Russell. He has another
year left on his contract. Will it be the same
the Lakers? The Lakers don't win a championship, Are we
gonna get the same song and dance next year? Before
the trade deadline? Let's trade D'Angelo Russell for this guard?
(22:25):
Or has he established himself to where he's a part
of the team that he can't be replaced or you
don't want to replace him, or you don't want to
get rid of him for someone else.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
Mando de Loo in a tough situation because the fans
turned on him. You know, the fans did turn on
him at a certain point, and now he has that
player option where this summer he has the leverage. But
I will say his performance last night, all it does
is add more pressure because he has to show Laker
(22:59):
fans and the front office that he can do this
throughout the playoffs and be consistent in every series, not
just one series and in the next series you disappear.
So I say the pressure is really on d Lo
if you want to really get that bag in the
off season from the Lakers, and he want to get
that three or four year long term deal, because like
(23:19):
I said, the pressure is going to be on him.
So last night's performance is all finding Danny. Everybody's laughing today,
everybody's feeling good. But you've got Minnesota coming up next,
and that's your former team.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
That's a big game. They sitting at the top two
in the West right now.
Speaker 4 (23:34):
So you got to bring it consistently, and I want
to see if he can do that to lock the
tresh run right here.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
I mean, you talk consistency and you beat Oklahoma City,
you lose the Sacramento, you beat the Bucks. I mean,
can we can we get some type of consistent ball?
Speaker 2 (23:49):
Right?
Speaker 4 (23:50):
That's the thing that's so stressful cheering for this team
as a fan because it's an emotional roller coaster from
night tonight. Like the Milwaukee game, they looked like they
had the game pretty much the first three quarters, fourth
quarter collapse once again, it looked real grim last night.
The last minute or so, right, they pulled it out.
But then a couple of games before the Denver game,
(24:13):
they had that game in the bag and Denver beat
them again times eight times in a row. Now they
lost to Denver Sacramento Kings game heartbreak. That was the
inexcusable loss in my opinion, But flip side of that,
you have a chance to get your licked back against
Sacramento on the road next week. That's why I say
all these games right now are like playoff games right
(24:33):
now for the Lakers because you can't afford to lose
to in a row in the West. Maybe in the East,
but not the West.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
I want to ask you about win beIN Yama. I mean,
he he's been impressive, man, and he's really really I mean,
he is really showing why the fanfare and why the
hype around him has been so it was so big
and it was so low. What's your past? What was
(25:02):
your take on what's your take on on win Ben
Yama right now?
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Like?
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Where does he compare for you in terms of where
he's starting on his journeys as a rookie in this league?
What's what like? How do you see his trajectory?
Speaker 4 (25:18):
I think he is the best prospect I've ever seen
since Lebron James can I came out of high school.
I look at him like more of a I look
at him at it as a guard even though he's
seventy five. I've see some T Max similarities. He got
a nice, nice hesitation dribble. He can get his shot off.
You saw the play the other night against Sengoon when
they played the Rockets.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
He blocked his shot at.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
The rim, got his own rebound after the block, pushed
it down. Win between the legs, step back three. It's
a seven foot five guys.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Shout out.
Speaker 4 (25:48):
Shout out to his trainer, by the way, good friend
of mine, Tim Martin. I've seen footage of this kid
through my god him since he was like eleven twelve
years old. Like at first it looked like a baby
giraffe to be honest, like you didn't know how to
shape up as far as the coordination.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
But I think if he can just stay.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
In the weight room, work on his core, y'all know
that being football players too, like athletes, he got to
build his core strength. But I think he's gonna fotball doc, Yeah, exactly.
He gotta work on that for it, man. Get that
medicine ball, yo, get that medicine ball work going, and
get stronger, stronger base. But I think he really is.
His trajectory right now is far any major injuries. Man,
(26:32):
he is the He is gonna be the face of
the league when Lebron walks away because he's so marketable
and he's hungry, like you see him gonna get chet
hungerm like he really despised his playing against the Oklahoma
City Thunder and check. So we're gonna see that robbery too.
That's gonna be a robbery. We didn't get a chance
to see Bill Russell and Will Chamberlain, so we're getting
to see not only Winby but check. Honkerm is a
(26:53):
unicorn as well. So we're gonna see that robbery for
years to come. I'm excited, man, as a basketball fan,
just a pure.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
Fit, like, I can't wait to see what he's.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
Going to add to his game because we've never seen
a seven foot guy on an island at the top
of the key, going between the leg, behind the back.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Crossovers, step back.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
He's throwing it off the glass to itself, dunking on people,
and he's only what twenty twenty one years old, so.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
It's going to be unreal. Man.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
I just pray the kick and stay healthy because he
is going to be boxed office and he's going to
be the faith of the league.
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Sure, I mean MVP cuffs.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
In years past, it was you had to have one
of the better records in NBA and it's normally the
best player on the team, but that for Jason Tatum,
that that he fits the criteria.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
But when you talk MVP, he's way down on the list.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
And by far in the way that the Celxis have
the best record in the NBA. Why is that the
case with Jason Tatum that the gold posts are moved
but it wasn't like that for other players.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
I think because people have seen the self attacked success
in his absence when he's been out. But I think
his MVP case he had a strong.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Case this year.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
Boston has the best record in the NBA and in
the Eastern Conference. But he really hurt his case the
other night against Denver on the road, not showing up.
Those are the games that not only US real basketball
fans watched, but you've got casual fans.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Who on those prime time games.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
He didn't show up, man, And I've seen a lot
of voters, a lot of writers saying the same thing
on Twitter as social media.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
He didn't show up.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
So I don't think he's gonna have a chance. I
think that knocked them out of the race, But I
think the MVP race it would have been nb's award
if he wouldn't have got injured with that miniscous situation.
But I think it's got it. We're not talking about
in the MVP race. Who I think should finish in
the top two is Shake Gilgers Alexander, Oklahoma City's thunder.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
You know that wiggle.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
He has top two or three wiggle in the world
other than Keim and Kyrie. Pretty much like he is
averaging in like thirty two with thirty three points a
game this year, And I say he has a strong
case to actually win it because Okac has been in
the rebuilding mode for the last but six seven years now,
the stock piland draft picks, and now he has them
(29:14):
sitting number one in the West this year, the toughest division,
the toughest conference, So that it's a surprise right now
to see, Okay, see with all these young guys, these
first year guys, these second and third year guys, and
for him to lead that team, the LA Clippers will
forever regret trading Shake Gilders Alexander.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
For oh Man, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Gonna they're gonna regret that trade forever.
Speaker 2 (29:43):
Is there any regrets on Ben Simmons yet? Sure?
Speaker 3 (29:47):
The Jiggers Hoverard Man, the James lately. I think it's time.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
I think it's time for Ben Simmons just define just
to find himself.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Man.
Speaker 4 (29:57):
He deal with a lot of mental health stuff as well.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
With these injuries.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
I think he's topped him to walk away from the
game because it's like he just cannot find he just
can't find his help.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Man.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
He's getting hurt, he's getting injured. He's not mentally he's
not mentally there. I don't think he really loved basketball.
I'm sure you'll played with certain guys who they had
the intangibles they had to attribute physically, but they might
not have that real passion for this. I don't know
if Being really had that same passion. He has the money.
He got the Max contract very young. You know, he
(30:29):
got the designer jury to close and all that. So
it's like, I think he's really one of those guys
where he can just step off outside of basketball and
flourish other situations.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Man.
Speaker 2 (30:38):
But he's okay with calling him a bumb Like he's
okay with that. You think he's just I got my money,
I got a Max contract. Hey, I walk around, I
got my designer jeweler on y'all could call me a
bomb all you want, but I got paid like Kyle.
Speaker 4 (30:52):
Yeah, I just wouldn't want it that way.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
I give the money back, honestly. I rather people know,
like you know what, like I was a real one,
Like I just don't want to be caught no bomb man,
Like you can't have my name being drug like that
in the streets, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Like do y'all got your dog? Y'all got that dog
in y'all?
Speaker 4 (31:13):
Man, So like y'all can't relate to somebody who doesn't
want it, like it drives me crazy.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Certain players like.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
That are an enigma, man, in all sports, Like you
cannot understand why they don't have that drive, Like they
don't work out at four or five in the morning. Like, Bro,
I am a grown ass man right now, and I
still work out every morning seven eight o'clock. Like it's
musclinging me. I'm sure you y'all still boy. I see
you in there, man, I see the trap.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Yeah yeah, TJ Yeah TJ. I told you. I told
you TJ. You know I ain't hit the gym in
about three weeks. Bro, I'm slacking, yo.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
I want to say this, pubbly man, congrat to you
and Snoop on the football league too.
Speaker 2 (31:55):

Speaker 4 (31:56):
I've seen it on Instagram. Man, it's looking like something.
It's amazing for the youth.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
Man, Cuffs, I appreciate you. Man.
Speaker 5 (32:01):

turnout was crazy, and so I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Man. It should be fun.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
Keep the kids outside, that's my model. Keep the kids outside.
Kids don't be outside no more, man, keep them outside.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
That's the kid a different type of outside because the
kids outside these days, they're doing things differently outside.
Speaker 5 (32:26):
Yeah, and we out there though, we were out there
with them. No Cuffs is myself. Snoop is sending some
people out there just to interact with the kids. It's
gonna be It's gonna be a good thing for the
communities out here, man. And that's what we're trying to do.
Impact the community anyway we can. What's the website? What's
the website? TJ Snooping? Who's Flag Football League? It's in
(32:49):
if you follow me on Instagram, it's in my bio.
It's right there. But it's the Snoop and who'sh Flag
Football League?

(34:45):
had some interesting things to say about his quarterback. Let's
take a listen. I'm interested to get your h your
opinion on it.
Speaker 9 (34:53):
To close out the show, when Mac was comfortable and
he had a good system, he put he produced in,
he put up numbers and when you said we scored
well forty five to seven against Living yeah, Mac Jones
led that team and so we know he can do it.
Speaker 2 (35:07):
You know he can do it.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
He does.
Speaker 9 (35:09):
He has to finest confidence his stride and get a
rhythm on. It's gonna be difficult. It is fourth seed.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Yeah, four oh season, four years I had. I had
five head coaches and four seasons at one point. It's
hard to have a coaching change. I'm sure it's super
hard to have a position coach change and to have
so much pressure on you. What's your take on Mac Jones.
(35:39):
I'm curious.
Speaker 5 (35:41):
As we said earlier, and Judon just said it, he
has to finest confidence.
Speaker 2 (35:47):
Man.
Speaker 5 (35:47):
Confidence is very important. When Mac Jones was a rookie,
everybody said, Wow, this kid is playing well. Josh McDaniels
is doing a really good job. And then Josh McDaniels
leeds take a head coaching job with the Las Vegas Raiders,
and Bill Belichick said.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Hm, I'm smarter than everybody.
Speaker 5 (36:12):
Let me name a defensive guy, the OC, a special
teams guy, co OC Like, Yeah, let's see how that works.
That was the beginning of the end for Mac Jones.
When he named Patricia and Joe Judge's call offensive coordinators,
they in essence ruined them the lack of confidence that
(36:33):
they showed and when I say they, Bill Belichick and
mac Jones continue to chip away at his psyche and
his confidence. And so now he finally he finally had
a real offensive coordinator again and Bill O'Brien. But many
(36:53):
will say who is he throwing the ball to? What
weapons does he have? And then you have the musical chairs,
the quarterback position. So for mac Jones, first and foremost,
he needs to get back that self belief, that confidence,
that swagger that he can get it done. Now, it
helps when one of your better defensive players, probably your
(37:14):
best defensive player in Judon, is publicly saying we believe
in him, We've seen him get it done, and so
now it's for mac Jones to believe in himself and
realize he has been able to play at a high level.
Draw Mayo understands that part of it, and if he
can instill that confidence in him, you never know what
(37:36):
can happen. But again, man, it's a when you're at
the bottom and you're looking.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Up to the top.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
It seems like you have so far to go, but
you got to stand up and start going before you
can get to the top.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Do you think that this is the decision that Draw
Mayo should make as a rookie head coach stand with
mac Jones. No, but I said, I'd say no, Oh no,
I wouldn't just no, but no.
Speaker 5 (38:04):
If you're the Patriots, you have the third pick. So
in that censure, you're gonna choose whom the other two
people perceive to be the top two quarterbacks. And now
you're taking the third quarterback. Are you comfortable with that?
The Patriots need a lot of help. Do you trade
down and accumulate draft picks? And to me, that's if
(38:26):
I'm the Patriots, that's where I go. I'm trying to
get to first this year, to first next year, maybe
a second next year, and now let's see where we
are in about three to four years. Because you need
to accumulate draft picks. You need more talent. It's not
just a quarterback thing. You need talent on that roster.
(38:48):
Well that's sad, because then what direction do you go.
It seems like if they need more talent and they're
gonna stick with mac Jones, then that's a foregone conclusion.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
He's gonna fall on his face. Further More, if you
bring in a new guy, you bring in Russ, he's
a bus. If you bring in you trade for uh
for justin fields that would seemingly be at It doesn't
seem like it's a winning situation to walk into in
New England right now.
Speaker 5 (39:15):
Everything seems that way when when you're at the bottom
that it really does. All of it takes a player
or two, a player to a mindset and things can
change very quickly. It really can in the National Football League.
But if you don't have a quarterback, it may.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
A lot longer, a lot longer.
Speaker 5 (39:40):
You you really need a quarterback, but you need pieces
around that quarterback. The quarterback is the engine, but you
need pieces around that quarterback. And if you don't have that,
it doesn't matter what quarterback you have.
Speaker 2 (39:52):
Well, I think Gerron Mao is in a tough situation
and we'll see how that all plays out. We hope
you enjoyed the show. Again, if you miss anything, make
sure you go check out the podcast. It's up on
Game and make sure you check out up on Game
Presents as well. We got my man, Jonas Knox, the guy,
