name suing the NCAA over eligibility.

Yeah, you know, I read a lot. Man.

I saw it just because he went to junior college,
and he's basically saying, guys go to prep schools and
things of that nature. It's not held against some, but
when you go to junior college, those years are counted
against you. So he feels he should get those years
back if I'm not mistaken.

I think that's how I kind of I feel like
boa is that accurate? I feel like that's accurate.

I feel like I feel like with all these hold
backs and all these different things that's going on. I mean,
you got cats going into to college at age twenty one,
and they did a legitimate bid as a high school person.
It wasn't like they were dumb or with felling or
anything like that. They just get kept getting reclassified. And
you got these grown ass men playing against kids in

high school and becoming five star athletes going to college
getting tore out the frame because they never really had
to develop. They were just better athletes than everybody because
they was older than everybody.

But so, should you hold it.

Against a Juco guy or you know, a guy that
goes to like a school like that that you know
isn't quite you know, like one of the majors.

Should that be held against them?

The more I think about it, man, it does make
sense that a god can go to a prep school.
It's not held against them. A guy can be twenty
six years old and still play college football, you know.

So I you know, and I'm and I'm a junior
college baby. Y I went to JUCO And and so
for a lot of.

Guys that played in Juco, depending on the level that
you played at, they weren't ready to make an impact
at a university, and when they were ready, it was over.
And and so I I get where he's coming from.
I truly do certain Jucos prepare you and others don't.

Its just like being in high school all over again,
and you're at the point where midway through your senior
year you're ready to go, but the coaches ain't gonna
give you an opportunity. They gonna get these young boys
ready to play because they have two three years remaining
with these young boys. If this rule was to be changed,

thing number one, you probably see more guys graduate because
they'd have more time. You see better playing college football
because not only would they have more time, they'd be
more mature.

And so I'm actually not against it.

Now some schools may not like it because now guys
would be on scholarship longer.

But it's very interesting and I'm not opposed to it
at all.

Well, I look at it like this, if a guys
getting development out of JUCO because they weren't able to
get good grades somewhere else, or they needed a little
bit more time to be able to accomplish what they
needed to accomplish TJ in some ways, shape or form,
I feel like it should not be held against them
coming from a jucode. I really do think that it

should be looked at almost as if it's a prep
or an academy something to that effect.

It isn't quite the level of major college sports, so
I don't feel like their clock should start. I know,
for me, so he switched, you know, and I mean,
you want to talk about some extraordinary circumstances. My son
portnant with me for seven Bro, he's not with me
for seven eight years. The dude that did what he

did and had my son with his mom, they had
him playing basketball.

He finds his way back to me.

We find and rebuild our relationship, repair our relationship, and
he switches the football. He switches the football while he's
in college and goes to Lakawana Junior College.

I just I And when I looked at it, I
was like, man, he's on the clock. But should he
really be on the clock?

Should he'd have to lead Lackawana and only have two
years left because he spent two years time developing at
the juco.

Level, just learning the game before he went to D one, just.

Learning the game of football, just learning the game of football,
you know.

So to me, I feel like there are.

Some extreme circumstances that would actually call for looking at
a situation like this with you know, I guess a
more focused eye on what the needs of the athlete
and the person is versus it just being this black
on white rule that says you know your your clock

I just, you know, I feel like there should be
something to be said.

Hey, for so long, LeVar, we just kind of go
with the flow.

Oh you get X amount of years to play this,
you get like because rules are said, nobody ever really
challenges them, Like who sets these rules?

Who makes these who says this is right?

Like, I mean, you know, I can go on to
so many Why is the work hour work week forty hours?
Why who made it that way?

Why is the weekend on the Friday ends, I mean
Saturday and Sunday. Why isn't it Friday, Saturday and Sunday?
Like who sets all these parameters in these quote unquote
rules that we've abided by. And maybe things need to
be looked at differently. And for sure, when you go
to junior college, it is not the same level as

a regular college. It is not the same commitment, schooling, tutoring,
football and athletic wise, whether it's basketball, whatever it is.
Because I did that, I went down that path.

When you're in junior college a lot of times if
you don't get financiating, you don't have parents that can
afford to pay, like you better go to a junior
college in the area where you're from.

Us.

You can't even afford it because you can't. You're on
your own, you can't pay rent, You're not getting scholarship
and they not paying. So it's just you may have
to work a job to pay your rent, do certain
things just to make ends meet.

You know. I remember being in junior college.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Man find cases the top rom and putting them under
my bed because I ain't want.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
My roommates take at my last tag top rocking, you know.
So it's so many circumstances that you go through.

I'm actually happy that he is fighting this because he
really has a point. As I read the story and
I'm like, wow, I go back to my experience and
some of my buddies and my homeboys experience. Had they
been given more time, maybe things turn out differently.

If it's truly about development, then make it truly about development.

A junior college is not about going to the next level,
is it.

I don't think now one person would confuse what you
go to do out of junior college is the same
thing you go to do out of.

Power for or a major on top of that, or
a mid major.

You're not going to a juco for that. It is
purely for you to try to get yourself back on track.

If you're in a JUCO.

Look that is, if we're in a JUCO, honestly, it's
pure development because we were not ready, were not as
ready as the guys that are going to the power
for schools.

Now we're not as ready and so.

Living or another right for one reason or another.

It might be maturity, it might be skill development, it
could be any given thing that's on that list of
things you.

Need to work on before you're able to have that opportunity.

But nonetheless, I think everybody knows that jucos are a
place where you go to try to find yourself.

You know, you might have started off big and it
didn't work out for one reason or another.

Jucos give you an opportunity to kind of like regroup, reset, reevaluate,
and do what it is that you need to do
to develop what it is that's going to get you
back to that opportunity that you started with. There's so
many different reasons why I just don't think that a
JUCO your time out of JUCO. I just don't think
it should take away from your time. Like if you

go serving the military, you still have you know, years
of eligibility.

There's certain things. If you go off and you do
the you.

Go on on a mission, you got a mission.

You still have your eligibility.

So to me, I just feel like if you're going
to a JUCO, you're you're you're improving yourself, You're you're
taking classes, you're moving towards getting a degree. I don't
feel like that should be taken lightly. And I don't
feel like that's something that they should take away your
your eligibility because you're playing football out of JUCO. It
doesn't matter enough. I mean, if we're being honest, in
the grand scheme of things, JUCO football does not matter

in the grand scheme of what's taking place in college
football as a whole. So why would you take the
kid's eligibility away from him if he's trying to get
himself together and get himself right to be.

Able to play out another school? Like what if the kid?
What if the kid?

Because my kid played a year a year before Covid
played right as Covid was hitting, so he used up
eligibility playing basketball. He goes to JUCO to develop, and
he uses two more years of eligibility learning how to
play the game.

I just don't know if I feel like that's a
fair shake at it.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
If you're changing, you know, changing a sport, whatever it
may be, you're changing, but yet you've lost eligibility based
off of being out at ju though.

Like the Bucks have started. The Milwaukee Bucks have fallen
to two and seven. And my real honest take on
it is, I think Doc Rivers he gets washed as

a coach. The game has passed him. Mind. He's one
of those old dinosaur coaches. He's still milking that two
thousand and eight championship ringing Boston. And I don't think
he wanted to get back in the coaching necessarily. He
was real comfortable in the in the broadcast move we

of years national TV games. I think Doc knew that
he can steal a bag. He can he can steal

of these guys in real life. Ninety percent of them
are cool, man. They know a lot of this stuff
is this joke. As fans, even though we're in the

got ten skin and I feel like with D'Angelo Russell,
he had tin skin, man, to the point where from

game to game, you don't know which D'Angelo Russell is
gonna show up from game to game. Right, Like, one game,
like last night, you played fairly well. I think he
had eight teams, came off the bench, and it's like,
I love what JJ is doing because he's doing what
Darbenham didn't do and he's holding guys accountable early, like
immediately into his tenure. And that's what I really like
about JJ. But I think we're gonna see We're gonna

see a nice trade package TJ very soon. We got
a nice bundle. We're gonna put d Lo in that bundle.
You're gonna put game. Ronnie James is untouchable. The boy.

turned twenty like he has. He has the skill set,
and he understands he's not gonna be a star player
in this league. So he's trying to find his Knie
and I think he will. And they're looking at the
big picture, long term development with Lebron, with Brownie Junior.

So I don't think everybody just I mean, I know
he gets a lot of tendon. The microscope is on
on his Lebron's son. I get it. But it's a
lot of people rooting for the kid to fail, and
I just don't as a media person and knowing the
family in real life, Like I don't like that energy. Man,

if your man and son goes to the NFL or

if he gets his to get a job in the NFL,
nobody would have a problem with it. But like you

when you go to junior college, those years are counted
against you. So he feels he should get those years
back if I'm not mistaken.

I think that's how I kind of I feel like

I feel like I feel like with all these hold
backs and all these different things that's going on. I mean,
you got cats going into to college at age twenty one,
and they did a legitimate bid as a high school person.
It wasn't like they were dumb or with felling or
anything like that. They just get kept getting reclassified. And
you got these grown ass men playing against kids in

high school and becoming five star athletes going to college
getting tore out the frame because they never really had
to develop. They were just better athletes than everybody because
they was older than everybody.

But so, should you hold it.

Against a Juco guy or you know, a guy that
goes to like a school like that that you know
isn't quite you know, like one of the majors.

Should that be held against them?

The more I think about it, man, it does make
sense that a god can go to a prep school.
It's not held against them. A guy can be twenty
six years old and still play college football, you know.

So I you know, and I'm and I'm a junior
college baby. Y I went to JUCO And and so
for a lot of.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Guys that played in Juco, depending on the level that
you played at, they weren't ready to make an impact
at a university, and when they were ready, it was over.
And and so I I get where he's coming from.
I truly do certain Jucos prepare you and others don't.
(03:39):
Its just like being in high school all over again,
and you're at the point where midway through your senior
year you're ready to go, but the coaches ain't gonna
give you an opportunity. They gonna get these young boys
ready to play because they have two three years remaining
with these young boys. If this rule was to be changed,
(04:00):
thing number one, you probably see more guys graduate because
they'd have more time. You see better playing college football
because not only would they have more time, they'd be
more mature.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
And so I'm actually not against it.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Now some schools may not like it because now guys
would be on scholarship longer.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
But it's very interesting and I'm not opposed to it
at all.

Well, I look at it like this, if a guys
getting development out of JUCO because they weren't able to
get good grades somewhere else, or they needed a little
bit more time to be able to accomplish what they
needed to accomplish TJ in some ways, shape or form,
I feel like it should not be held against them
coming from a jucode. I really do think that it

should be looked at almost as if it's a prep
or an academy something to that effect.

It isn't quite the level of major college sports, so
I don't feel like their clock should start. I know,
for me, so he switched, you know, and I mean,
you want to talk about some extraordinary circumstances. My son
portnant with me for seven Bro, he's not with me
for seven eight years. The dude that did what he

did and had my son with his mom, they had
him playing basketball.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
He finds his way back to me.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
We find and rebuild our relationship, repair our relationship, and
he switches the football. He switches the football while he's
in college and goes to Lakawana Junior College.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I just I And when I looked at it, I
was like, man, he's on the clock. But should he
really be on the clock?
Speaker 4 (05:39):
Should he'd have to lead Lackawana and only have two
years left because he spent two years time developing at
the juco.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Level, just learning the game before he went to D one, just.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Learning the game of football, just learning the game of football,
you know.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
So to me, I feel like there are.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Some extreme circumstances that would actually call for looking at
a situation like this with you know, I guess a
more focused eye on what the needs of the athlete
and the person is versus it just being this black
on white rule that says you know your your clock

has started.

I just, you know, I feel like there should be
something to be said.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Hey, for so long, LeVar, we just kind of go
with the flow.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Oh you get X amount of years to play this,
you get like because rules are said, nobody ever really
challenges them, Like who sets these rules?
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Who makes these who says this is right?
Speaker 5 (06:42):
Like, I mean, you know, I can go on to
so many Why is the work hour work week forty hours?
Why who made it that way?
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Why?
Speaker 5 (06:51):
Why is the weekend on the Friday ends, I mean
Saturday and Sunday. Why isn't it Friday, Saturday and Sunday?
Like who sets all these parameters in these quote unquote
rules that we've abided by. And maybe things need to
be looked at differently. And for sure, when you go
to junior college, it is not the same level as

a regular college. It is not the same commitment, schooling, tutoring,
football and athletic wise, whether it's basketball, whatever it is.
Because I did that, I went down that path.

When you're in junior college a lot of times if
you don't get financiating, you don't have parents that can
afford to pay, like you better go to a junior
college in the area where you're from.

Us.

You can't even afford it because you can't. You're on
your own, you can't pay rent, You're not getting scholarship
and they not paying. So it's just you may have
to work a job to pay your rent, do certain
things just to make ends meet.

You know. I remember being in junior college.
Speaker 5 (07:55):
Man find cases the top rom and putting them under
my bed because I ain't want.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
My roommates take at my last tag top rocking, you know.
So it's so many circumstances that you go through.

I'm actually happy that he is fighting this because he
really has a point. As I read the story and
I'm like, wow, I go back to my experience and
some of my buddies and my homeboys experience. Had they
been given more time, maybe things turn out differently.

If it's truly about development, then make it truly about development.

A junior college is not about going to the next level,
is it.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
I don't think now one person would confuse what you
go to do out of junior college is the same
thing you go to do out of.

Power for or a major on top of that, or
a mid major.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
You're not going to a juco for that. It is
purely for you to try to get yourself back on track.

If you're in a JUCO.

Look that is, if we're in a JUCO, honestly, it's
pure development because we were not ready, were not as
ready as the guys that are going to the power
for schools.

Now we're not as ready and so.

Living or another right for one reason or another.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
It might be maturity, it might be skill development, it
could be any given thing that's on that list of
things you.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Need to work on before you're able to have that opportunity.

But nonetheless, I think everybody knows that jucos are a
place where you go to try to find yourself.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
You know, you might have started off big and it
didn't work out for one reason or another.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Jucos give you an opportunity to kind of like regroup, reset, reevaluate,
and do what it is that you need to do
to develop what it is that's going to get you
back to that opportunity that you started with. There's so
many different reasons why I just don't think that a
JUCO your time out of JUCO. I just don't think
it should take away from your time. Like if you

go serving the military, you still have you know, years
of eligibility.

There's certain things. If you go off and you do
the you.

Go on on a mission, you got a mission.

You still have your eligibility.

So to me, I just feel like if you're going
to a JUCO, you're you're you're improving yourself, You're you're
taking classes, you're moving towards getting a degree. I don't
feel like that should be taken lightly. And I don't
feel like that's something that they should take away your
your eligibility because you're playing football out of JUCO. It
doesn't matter enough. I mean, if we're being honest, in
the grand scheme of things, JUCO football does not matter

he gets a lot of tendon. The microscope is on
on his Lebron's son. I get it. But it's a
lot of people rooting for the kid to fail, and
I just don't as a media person and knowing the

if your man and son goes to the NFL or

if he gets his to get a job in the NFL,
nobody would have a problem with it. But like you

really he's starting to integrate his own vibe and culture

with with the new coach, he's bringing that Celtics championship
coature over to Charlotte and you can see it paying
off dividends for LaMelo right now. Because LaMelo is a young,

I think the Steelers are gonna win, and I took

The Steelers are coming off of Bob Mike Thomlin, off
of Bob versus another ricky quarterback. I'm torn on this, man,
because I like the Commanders. I like Jay Daniels. The
Steelers playing a ton of zone defense, jayde Daniels's money
versus own defense. But something tells me, man, this pass

rush is gonna be a bit too much for the Commander.
So I'll take the Steelers and I'll go over, all right.

Next up here, the Philadelphia Eagles head to Dallas take
on the dak Prescott loss Cowboys. Philly a seven point
road favorite in this one, which is terrifying. The total
currently said at forty three and a half in this one.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
I don't know why I'm doing this.

I don't know why I'm doing this because last week
the Eagles chomped out on the Jaguars, and the Jacksonville
Jaguars come back and cover even though the Eagles won.

But I'm gonna take the Eagles.

The Cowboys are in this flux right now to where yeah,
Cooper Rush is gonna play, they have confidence, and yeah
MICUs Partsan's coming back.

Some of the Cowboys are a good football team. I'll
take the Eagles.

I'll give up seven points, which is a ton in
the National Football League, and I like the Eagles to
get out big the Cowboys to kind of make this
somewhat of a game, and so I'll go over the
points and I'll take the Eagles.

Sunday Night Football. The Lions a three and a half

Hey man, you are not messing around. You have picked
some games where it's like nothing as obvious.

These are all hard games, like the Lions in the Texas,
it's like flip a coin. Okay, y'all take this.

But whenever I had these toss up games, I guess
you that you should just go with the team that
is the underdog. But I'm not sure that the Texans
will be able to handle the physicality that the Lions
are playing and are going to play with. After what

I saw last week, the Texans could not protect CJ.
Stroud at all. I believe the Texas need to get
guys involved. John Mitchi can really play. They don't involve him.
Tank Dell can really play. They need to involve him more.
If they do that, they got a chance. But they've
shown me that they haven't been able to do that.
Though Miko zel thoh Stefan involve these other players, they
