dude that you disrespect them anyway, it didn't matter who
it was they was putting hands on you.

of moments. But there's an interesting conversation that's gonna take
(01:21):
us back into football inplex.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
I'm sure you're.
Speaker 6 (01:24):
Gonna be pretty pumped up and excited about this one.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
We'll get to that.
Speaker 6 (01:29):
It has to do with heart knocks, and it has
to do with Bill Belichick, heart knocks and Bill Belichick.
I'm gonna let y'all sit on that one. Think about
that one for a moment, because it might have went
over a few of y'all's heads. But for the ones
that it didn't, well, we're going to talk about that
in moments. But first let's talk about Joel embiid Man.
He's going to now miss the rest of the season.
(01:51):
The process huh BO. Can you give us the beats
on the Joel in bead situation and how it ended.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, So the team and him kind of agreed for
him to go ahead and sit the rest of the
season out as they continue to look for a long
term solution for his left knee. It's been bothering him
all year. He had increased swelling after their loss of
the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday night, and so the Sixers
made the decision to go ahead and sit him for
(02:20):
the rest of the year, coming on the heels of
Paul George announcing that he'll no longer do his podcast
as the team looks to compete for a title, which
I don't think they're gonna do all right.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
The process. Should this be the end of the road?
Speaker 6 (02:35):
Should this be boys demn moment for Joel Embiide and
the seventy six ers. Although we come to the the
road scanned.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
You gotta letting go.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
I feel like you gotta let him be go at
this point. How you seeing it?
Speaker 5 (02:56):
I wouldn't go as far as you know, letting him go.
I mean, obviously, you know, Jolan Beiid is one of
my favorite players to watch, you know, especially when he's healthy,
and you know, going back to to just two years
to move from being the MVP of this league and
him ascending to you know, possibly be the face of
(03:17):
the NBA moving forward in the future, and uh, you know,
it's just you know, unfortunate for him. You know, he's
been balancing a lot of like lower extremity injuries since
he came into the league. I believe he missed like
his whole rookie season or with a foot, you know, whatever.
What happened with that, and it's just you know this
(03:37):
right here for me, mb moving forward, I don't really
think he's going to recover the form of what he
was two years ago when he was MVP. He's getting
older and he just can't really you know, clear that
injury hurdle of him being you know, you know, available,
(03:58):
you know, when his team needs him to be. And
you know, with the addition of Paul George. I mean
I came on this, you know this show and said
several times that I believe that they would compete in
the Eastern Conference with the Celtics to maybe win the division.
But now you look at you know, him not being
available for the rest of the season, that's not going
to happen. Paul George hasn't been the player that we
(04:21):
thought he was going to be when he was inserted,
you know, into this team, in this lineup, and you know,
right now, Maxie is the clear number one player on
this team, which nobody foresaw coming three four years ago
when he came into this league. He's a he's a
he's a phenomenal talent. But I just think for MB
Man moving forward, I don't think he you know, regains
(04:45):
that form and you know, from two years ago, you
thought that, you know what, we are getting ready to
see the making of the next great big man you
know in this league. And it takes me back to
the to the Olympics. He was not able to finish
the playoffs last year because of the knee and the
injury that he had you know, you know during the
(05:08):
the knixt Series and wasn't able to He wasn't available
for the Celtics, but he played in the Olympics. And
I think that, you know, looking at where he is
now from an injury standpoint, he could have made the
decision not to play in the Olympics and get healthy
(05:28):
for the season. And I think you have to look
at that and everything that has transpired with him from
an injury standpoint. Listen, I get it. I understand. It's
one of those lifetime things that doesn't that you do
not get to be a part of or accomplish while
you're a player, you know, in this league, and that's
represent your country and play in the Olympics. And I
(05:50):
don't think the Philadelphia seventy six were a fan of
him playing in the Olympics, even he really didn't play
a lot because he was still hurt and he made
that decision. So now you look it fast forward to
the season, he's only played nineteen games coming into the year,
and he never was able to get healthy because he
played basketball all summer in the Olympics, and now he's
(06:12):
not no longer available for the team.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
M I just think that once you've dealt with injuries
over and over again, it's your feet, it's your knees.
At his size and at his height, I just we
look at it with Anthony Davis, like, like.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Can I have a real moment? Can I have a
real moment here?
Speaker 4 (06:40):
Bro?
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Like?
Speaker 4 (06:42):
What did?
Speaker 3 (06:42):
What do their organs look like? Bro?
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Like?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
What is there there?
Speaker 5 (06:46):
What their joints look like?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
What is that like?
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Bro?
Speaker 6 (06:53):
If you're talking about the average size cat, you know
it's probably five to seven and a doctor has to
go in and deal with like cartilage or bone or ligaments.
And how long is is Joel Embiid's achilles tendon?
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Bro?
Speaker 3 (07:10):
How big is his ankle boning?
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Like?
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Bruh?
Speaker 6 (07:14):
Like, I know this might sound crazy, but I'll be
thinking to myself if you're talking about like a guy
like myself, I deal with weight bearing joint injuries like
I deal with that ongoing every day. You deal with it,
like you had to get a procedure done on Like
my back is blown. Like pause all the way.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Pause. I'm giving a whole bunch of pause moments there.
But I'm just keeping it real.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
Dog, Like I work, I fight to stand straight up
because of how bad my back hurts.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
I'm six three. I'm six three.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
I'm of an above average weight, but definitely manageable size
in terms of how I can live with my quality
of life. I don't have to bend down underneath door frames.
I don't have to fill a certain type of way
in a car or anything like that. Like, these aren't
realities that these dudes have to deal with.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
I know, man, going back in history, Man, this is
not the first time that this has happened.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
These you know, these large men having.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
Palls uh lower extremity injuries.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
We're keeping it real. It sounds funny, we just keeping
it real.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Greg Oden, Greg ended his career.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
Man, believe it or not, Shack had feet issues Shock
deal with with with Pam Booie. These guys that are
seven plus feet, they they've all had issues with, you know,
knees and ankles and you know, backs and the hips
and all.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
The what injury is whet be out with bo Chris? What?
Speaker 4 (08:51):
What? What?
Speaker 3 (08:52):
What inury? Is he out with a blood clot?
Speaker 5 (08:54):
We're at Yeah, I believe it's in the shoulder.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Hud, it's blood shoulder.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
Well, that's not bad, that's not that's not the right one.
But I thought it might have been a lower lower
leg injury or something.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
To like Shack with a size twenty four shoe, which
is basically two of my feet put together with.
Speaker 6 (09:13):
Hey, can I just give you some light on that, like,
and don't nobody judge me. Don't don't judge me. I
had this thing Meia Triceh was talking about this the
other day. Right, I had a thing when we were
going to all of the Wizards game, I would get
guys as sneakers.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
So I got Kobe sneakers.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
I got the starting five of the Piston sneakers with
Ben Wallace and Sheet and all of them. I got
Kevin Garnett's got to Die, so on and so forth.
I get Shack shoes, right yep. And I was making
breakfast the next morning, and I had my sneakers on,
and I was like the shack shoes were sitting on
(09:49):
on the coffee table, and I was like, bro, like
them joints are.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Like straight destroyer ship shoes.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Like, I'm crazy.
Speaker 6 (09:58):
I looked at him, can't even see the size. So
I was, I wonder if I could fit his shoe
on with.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
My shoe on.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
And I did, and I his shoe went in the shoe.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
My shoe went inside his shoe and fit. And I
was walking around walking around Bradford with shocks kate.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Warn shoes on. I mean, it's.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
Crazy to believe that I went side twelve and he
has two of my feet put together?
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Is one correct? Correct?
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Wy?
Speaker 6 (10:33):
I just think when you're built like that. I just
when you're doing athletic things and you're running up and
down courts and you're getting crossed over by people, or
you're trying to cross over people and you're you're doing
fadeaways and you're jumping up to get rebounds, like, bruh,
that that weight and that pressure and that strain that
(10:53):
goes on their body has to be way different than
anybody else in this world.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Bro, Like, it's.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
Gotta be way different. There's no way he can get
around what his size is. And what these injuries that
easy sustaining. They gotta get I feel like you gotta
get away.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
And going back to look at it, it's the same
one of the same things that end of y'all means
career feet, stress, fractures. I mean, I just you just
can't be running up and down the court putting that
much weight and pressure just on your feet. Shaq was
like three hundred Look at the way Shaq was moving around. Yeah,
he was moving around like he was like five ten
(11:34):
at times, and he was six He was seven feet
seven to one, three hundred pounds, and he was agile.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Like a cat.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Yeah, that's insane, insane, that's insane.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
I don't I don't know how. I don't. I don't
know how.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
Joel Embiid is able to take time off and get
healthy again. We haven't seen it happen with Anny Davis.
It just seems like it's one injury, one soft tissue
injury to the next, and it's just a.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Part of it that size.
Speaker 5 (12:08):
But yeah, on a more serious note, for join band,
what is your how do you get healthy?
Speaker 3 (12:17):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
You don't think do you.
Speaker 5 (12:19):
Rehab the injury or do you have to take off
weight to heal the injury? Man, So I've never had
to deal with anything like that, but but it only
makes common sense to think that he would have to
lose some weight.
Speaker 6 (12:36):
He probably does need to lose weight. I don't know
what what wilt and and what like. Bill Russell, you
know what their their health was and how durable they were,
but they weren't big dudes. They were tall, but they
were slim, super slim dudes.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
I still think that that's still a lot of wear
and tear, and they didn't have technology in their sneakers.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
They was wearing.
Speaker 6 (12:58):
Chucks, you know what I mean, they wearingson. Come on, man,
they was wearing all Stars.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
So I don't thin.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
I think they was probably banging their joints up too.
I mean, you look at Kareem. He wasn't big, but
you know, he looked like he got banged up. I
just think that man, once a big dude starts to
go down that long goodbye road with their health, you
gotta get you got to get out of there. That's
ultimately my thought process on it.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
I know you don't think they should, but we'll see
how it all plays out. Nonetheless, we wish you the best,
Joel and b hope you get healthy wherever it is
you end up landing. And you know what, We're gonna
keep talking sports on the other side of the break
hard Knocks. You will never believe this hard knocks off
season shifts. We're gonna discuss it. See how you think
(13:45):
about it, and see how we think about it. Because
I think that this is a this is a monumental moment,
and it is a ginormous moment. Yeah, that big, at
least to me, I think it is. We're gonna talk
about It's Up on Games Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Take a quick break, will be right back.

gonna party like it's your birthday. We're gonna talk sports
like it's your birthday. Yes, right, Welcome back into Up
on Game. Splexco Versus LeVar Arrington, TJ.
Speaker 3 (14:36):
Huschman.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
Zada is in Indianapolis for the combine, so he is
not on, but we have had some interesting conversations and
some topics this morning. So if you missed anything, don't
worry about it. Make sure you can check it out
on the podcast because it will be going up immediately
after the show. You could also, well, you know, on
(14:56):
on other fronts, you could check out YouTube and see
the video highlights as well things that take place at
Fox On for Fox Sports Radio. So, uh let's jump
into this this Hard Knocks conversation. Uh bo, give me
the dats on Hard Knocks and and what could possibly
(15:17):
be taking place with where Hard Knocks ends up.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
So obviously last year they tried the Hard Knocks offseason
edition with the New York Giants, and so this.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Year Windaway is gold. By the way, yeats yeah yeah,
yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
So like you, North Carolina's GM Michael Lombardi, he confirmed
that there's talks about the program.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Covering the.
Speaker 6 (15:46):
G M Mike Lombardi, who is none other than someone
from the National Football League has worked for Even than that,
I believe the NFL network multiple you know, outlets as
it applies to to the NFL.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
This is amazing. The GM, all right, go ahead.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Just due to a lack of interest from NFL teams
in participating, which again not surprising given that the sound
bite of the season was John Marras saying he's gonna
have trouble sleeping at night if Saquon goes to Philadelphia.
So which I am not to too my own horn,
but I did say as soon as that drop that
you would never see an NFL team do this again.
(16:25):
And here we are one season and we're doing a
college program.
Speaker 6 (16:28):
I don't disagree, but now with nil where it is
right now, I'm gonna say.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
This before you go plex.
Speaker 6 (16:35):
If you are a parent and you are out there,
you need to get at me or my people, because
it is no better time than now to understand how
to build your own personal brand. You gotta understand it
because if you understand how to build your brand as parents,
(16:56):
and you understand it as athletes going into this new
day and age that is clearly coming in like a
bull in a china and a China shop, you can
maximize building your brand. You can maximize getting your opportunities
in this NIL space because all this shift that's taking place,
(17:18):
like a card Knocks show that is now going to
focus in on highlighting a college program that is phenomenal.
That is brilliant on Mike Lombardi's part, is brilliant on
Bill Belichick's part, is brilliant on UNC's part. For even
(17:38):
bringing in Bill Belichick to begin with. I'm surprised Colorado
didn't catch on to doing something like this before this
took place, but they got their own deal going with Bucky.
But man, plex, this is a monumentous moment for college
football and college athletes.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Well, I'm gonna take it a step further. The main
reason I think it didn't happen with Colorado because you know,
I think more than anybody, Bill Belichick understands who Mike
Lombardy is and what he is all about. So obviously
he has some faith and trust in him to uh
to be even uh you know, receptive to this idea.
(18:21):
And just like you said, I believe it's gonna build.
It's gonna build some brands for some young men for
some opportunities that they.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
Did not have.
Speaker 5 (18:28):
But it also is it going to be a one
season thing with Bill Belichick or is it going to
be Are they going to sign a contract for like,
you know, three, four or five years with with the
training camp, hard knocks or whatever, the case may be,
but you may have moving forward, different production university or
(18:50):
outlets saying that, you know what, we want to come
in and do a hard knocks with your team.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
So now it may just be it's not it's not.
Speaker 5 (19:01):
It's going to be different programs and different outlets saying
that you know, now, uh, you know, there's going to
be a hard knock for uc USC, it's going to
be one for Miami, and it's going to be all
these different teams who are now going to take it
to take the advantage of having these hard knocks, mainly
because it's recruiting to and now you have all these
(19:25):
different programs doing what the training the hard knocks is doing,
and it's not just it's no longer just one one
one network.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Mmm, what you got perfect?
Speaker 7 (19:37):
So I think it's kind of interesting because I think
that some teams in the NFL have already been kind
of doing their own programs too, kind of like this.
I don't know how much there is for a team
controlled one, but I will say if you're talking about
other you know, organizations getting involved or other outlets getting
involved in these kind of things. I did see recently
c W, which a has a relationship Bill Belichick and
(20:01):
B and B did carry some college football games. Their
investment into sports has actually got them on the road
to profitability for for a station, for channel that's really
struggled with that. And maybe they could be, you know,
a good candidate for Bill Belichick to do kind of
a college football Hard Knocks.
Speaker 8 (20:20):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
I'm gonna say this Hard Knocks head.
Speaker 6 (20:25):
It started, it started airing on where where does it
air now?
Speaker 3 (20:29):
On like Pete Cock or something like that. It's Max
was on HBO, and Max's basically.
Speaker 6 (20:35):
CX now Max Max HBO Max. Okay, which is just
so right right right? I got you, I got so.
So here's here's the thing, man, that type of distribution,
that type of opportunity with a legendary show. No matter
what people think of it now or the teams think
of it now, it's a legendary show. And and and
(20:57):
I enjoyed, you know, at times, I really enjoyed the
kind of the inside, you know, behind the scenes of
some of the things that take place.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
I mean, I believe and I.
Speaker 6 (21:10):
Recall the the least I recall that they they created
Hard Knocks to basically show how guys were getting cut
from the team Like that was kind of like, you know,
kind of the thing, like give them a little inside
look at these families, these these players, uh, these people,
(21:30):
and here's what ends up happening. And now you're looking
at how guys are basically getting released from teams during
training camp and at the conclusion of training camp and
then boom you go into the season. I think because
you don't have that taking place at the college level.
I think this is such a if if Hard Knocks,
(21:51):
the producers of Heart Knocks, which y'all could call us
up if y'all want to, by the way, reach out
link up.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
You know, we talk about it.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
If it's done the right way, if it's framed the
right way, and it is handled the right way, this
is a gold mind of content for Max and for
the brand Hard Knocks, because the personalities in college, the
things that they go through in college, the things they
(22:21):
experience in college.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
These coaches as well.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
If it is if it is structured the right way
and you have coaches that understand it, and you have
gms crazy for the university and for the program that
understand the value of how to use this as you
mentioned plex for recruitment, for the building of the university
(22:44):
to raise awareness about what's passionate and what's important to
the university. If you use hard Knocks as a real organic,
real strong content build out, as almost a you know
what you would say, aa infomercial of sorts where you
get an inside look at what's going on at this university.
(23:06):
I think it's brilliant on multiple leveage levels. You can
create new general uh, generate new revenue streams.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
There's all kinds.
Speaker 6 (23:13):
Of really cool ways to be able to leverage a
move like this to the college level from the pro level.
Just my just my take on it, plex you know,
just my take on is just how I feel about it.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
But you know, it all makes sense. You know, it
really just all makes sense.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
So now you're not just talking about you know, North Carolina,
but you're talking about all of these college programs who
are going to give them another opportunity to generate money
within the organizations if they have their own. So there's
there's so much more to this that that is going
(23:55):
to happen, not just North Carolina about themselves. It's it's
going to be something that we're going to be talking about,
maybe you know this coming fall about the teams and
the university signing contracts with with different you know, uh,
media outlets, just for the access of hard knocks.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
I believe that's what it's gonna lead to.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Yeah, I mean it's coming this n I l uh
the way it's it's it's all unfolding and and what
it's going to be. It is a gold rush to
the to the college football uh environment. It's it's a
it's a ground where people are going to be drilling
for oil and they're going to be digging for gold
(24:44):
and different precious metals that are there because the resources
there are untapped, untouched, relatively untouched, and it is a
fertile ground for setting up shop.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
For new business and new revenue.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
And at this this only spells it out even more
hard knocks heading to college. Like you're seeing it take place.
I wonder if people are paying attention to it taking place.
This is not a conversation that is over. We will
revisit this one at some point in time in the future,
depending on how it unfolds and how this takes place.
(25:20):
But let's get an update from Isaac Loewing Kron and
let's talk a little Deebo Samuels and well, let's talk
a little NFL receivers after we come back from this amazing,
tremendous man giving us amazing and tremendous updates.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
On what's going on in the world of sports. I'll
leave it to you now, mister Isaac loehing.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
Kron, speaking of amazing and tremendous, how about hard knocks?
Two pros and a cup of Joe Bam.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
How about it?
Speaker 8 (25:48):
Camera crew seeing you get up at two o'clock in
the morning Pacific time?
Speaker 7 (25:52):
Is that what it is?
Speaker 3 (25:53):
It's a little earlier than that.
Speaker 8 (25:54):
Actually, gosh, yeah, that's hard knocks.
Speaker 6 (25:58):
That is a hard knock life.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
It is.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
There ain't no doubt about the things that people don't
know behind the scenes.
Speaker 8 (26:06):
Except for Quinn.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
He's on the East coast.
Speaker 3 (26:08):
Of course he's got he's got the time. I would
love to have.
Speaker 6 (26:12):
But but I had that time here because I'm on
the West coast. So yes, but no complaints here, not
going two.
Speaker 3 (26:19):
Pros and couple days.
Speaker 8 (26:20):
So you even get up before two o'clock in the
morning five.
Speaker 3 (26:23):
Days, absolutely fadays a leach.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
Hats off to you.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
Try one twenty five, the first one, snooze, one thirty
snooze and then we'll we'll decide if we snooze.
Speaker 3 (26:35):
From one thirty on, mad respect, Mad respect.
Speaker 8 (26:39):
I hope you people out there, coach to coast appreciate
what this man does to himself. Just for your listening,
enjoy right, I appreciate it. On to the college basketball scoreboard,
we go at a huge game at a Rup Arena
going on right now. At a strong start for number
one Auburn, They've got a twenty seven to nineteen lead
over seventeenth rank Kentucky nine minutes and counting for the
(27:00):
first half. Auburn's Miles Kelly with fourteen points and four
to three pointers all ready number thirteen. Clums And has
come back at Virginia to take a fifty three to
forty eight lead with eight minutes left to play in
the second half. Virginia led thirty two to twenty seven
at a half time, but clumbs that has outscored them twenty
seven to sixteen in the second half and sixteenth thanks
(27:23):
to Maryland, has come back at Penn State to lead
fifty three to forty nine with eight twenty three to
fine h in the second half. Penn State had a
thirty six to thirty half time lead, but Maryland outscoring
them twenty three to thirteen in the second half. Sorry
lebar back to you.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Oh that's no worries, man, no worries. Appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
Enjoy your week in i Lough. All right, Well, good
luck to my guys. Hope y'all can pull it out.
You know I'll pull it off.
Speaker 4 (27:49):
Yeah, good yeah, good luck to our guys. Man.
Speaker 5 (27:51):
Shout out to my Michigan State partners and Tom Is
on becoming the Big Ten all time. There you go
leading coaching wins. We currently went first into Big Ten
fourteen and three in the conference thirteen and went at
home overall record of twenty three and five. So shout
out to my Spartan dogs over everybody in east Landson
to the Red Sea, the River and in the Bresla Center,
(28:14):
Go Green, go white, let's go.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
Well there you go.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
Uh yeah, congrats to you guys.
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Uh yeah, that's.
Speaker 6 (28:22):
We're working on it. We're working on getting a little
bit better at at the whole basketball thing. So shots
out to the Nitney Lions as well, hope you pull
it out, and shots to the turps. You know, obviously
I was a commander, you know now referred to as
the Commanders. So and speaking of the Commanders, uh, they
and the Texans are interested in Deebo Samuel, Plexico and
(28:46):
the Packers. It's being reported they've reached out and made
an offer to the Seahawks to get DK metcalf now
as a receiver. What's your take on that commander's Texans
for Deebo sa Samuel. I think that, if I'm being honest,
both of those those teams may today today be more
(29:08):
interesting to me if I'm Deebo Samuel than what the
forty nine ers are, if I'm looking at quarterbacks Jaydon
Daniels and c. J.
Speaker 3 (29:18):
Stroud versus brock Perty.
Speaker 6 (29:19):
I mean, let's start there before we go into the Packers.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
How do you feel about.
Speaker 6 (29:24):
How do you make sense of the Commanders and the
Texans going after or showing interest in Deebo Samuel.
Speaker 5 (29:31):
Man, I love it, man, You know you look at
but Deebo Samuel is in his career. I think the
forty nine is offensively, you know, I think that office
is going to you know, stall sputter moving forward, especially
with some of a lot of the injuries that they have. Offensively,
we just mentioned Trent Williams and Christian McCafferty and Kittles
(29:52):
getting a year older. But if you look at Deebo
samuey Man, I think it's the perfect fit. If he
can either get to the Houston, Texa or Green Bay
or whatever the case may be, I think I think
it's a great fit for him. We don't know how
Stefan Diggs is going to recover from this from this
ACL and I've heard reports that from a wide receiver standpoint,
(30:15):
if you want to go out and make a splash,
you reunite Garrett Wilson from the New York Jets with CJ.
Stroud back in Houston. That may be a play for
them moving forward from wide receiver standpoint, but they're definitely
looking to acquire a veteran wide receiver. But we just
(30:35):
don't know who is going to be. But if I'm Demiko,
and this organization given CJ. Stroud more weapons only makes
them a better team, especially in a division where the
Kansas City Chiefs rule.
Speaker 6 (30:50):
If they were to land Deebo Samuel and get Stefan
Diggs back, who seems to be real active and renovated
moving around right now, you know what I mean? Well,
you know in life, you know, just just making it work,
making it do what it does in life, you know
what I mean, had a great Violentine's Day and all
that good stuff. Shots out to our team, you know,
(31:11):
up top for the football players, but.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
Up top for us.
Speaker 6 (31:19):
But you get Deebo Samuel in that situation with a
healthy step on Diggs and company with CJ.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Man, I think that that's us.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
And not to mention the injury to Tank delln you
don't know how to come back either.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
They could be nasty.
Speaker 6 (31:37):
Now let's go to the Packers and then reportedly making
an offer for DK metcalf. I think that that takes
the Green Bay Packers if DK can stay you know, motivated,
if he can you know, maybe control his emotions at times,
which I love the feistiness. I love having a little
bit of a fight in you that way, but just
(32:00):
not to the expense of yourself or to your team.
But if you can get him, that would be that
number one that they've been looking for in Green Bay,
you know, and that may give Jordan Love a different
opportunity for for success there.
Speaker 5 (32:18):
I don't think that it makes him to clear cut
number one in Green Bay. Do you consider him to
be a number one wide receiv go.
Speaker 6 (32:26):
I think he would be a number one. I think
he'd be a number one in Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
Okay, I mean I think they do have a.
Speaker 5 (32:33):
Pretty good trio in Christian Washington, Romeo not Romeo, Jay
Reed and Romeo Dobbs. But it just seems to me
that Jordan Love is on a trajectory as a quarterback.
He's going to make everybody else around him better. I
know that the Green Bay Packers are looking for a
veteran Rivalciva to put into this room because they have
(32:54):
the youngest wide receiver group in all the NFL. But
you know, why not add a veteran guy like Chris
Godwin from Tampa Bay. I believe he comes in and
has a lot of added value to that room. But
if you do want to bring in DK Metcalf, I
think he needs a fresh start. Obviously, with Pete Carroll
(33:15):
leaving Seattle and being in no longer being there, there
are going to be some roster shakers, I believe in Seattle,
and if you want to play with an elite quarterback
moving forward, if your DK Metcalf, if you can get
to Green Bay, it's a spot that I would welcome
and if i'm him from a quarterback, throw me to football
(33:37):
for the next four or five years. Go to Green Bay,
I would.
Speaker 6 (33:41):
Say, looking at their depth chart, if Christian Watson could
stay healthy and could become the go to guy for
Jordan Love, I would say he would be the guy
that you're looking at to be your number one. I
don't look at Romeo Dobbs Jaden Reed as being a
(34:02):
one receiver. I look at both of these guys as
being a complimentary type of type of receiver that can,
you know, play a major role in what you got
going on. But I think DK Metcalf would would emerge
as the number one receiver for green Bay.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
Last word on it, super quick man.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
I think the green Bay Packers have realized and noticed
that the new NFC North, you have to be able
to score points if you want to win this division,
especially the way that the Detroit Lions look and the
Minnesota Vikings. We don't know what Ben Johnson is going
to do in Chicago, but if you win and win
(34:43):
this division, you got to.
Speaker 6 (34:44):
Be able to score points. Now, there you go. That's
Plexico burs stretch Armstrong. I call him for superpowers. That
he has and TJ. Huchman's Ata panteen Man, Well, him
and his fine hair are in Indianapolis right now, hanging
out with the receivers and the players at the Combine.
So it's just me and Plexed today we're gonna come back.
We're gonna wrap up the show. We're gonna talk Combine. Well,
(35:06):
let's close it out with Combine. You'll hear what we
have to say about that. Is there a problem here?
Speaker 4 (35:11):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
Let's talk about it. All right. This is up on
Games Fox Sports Radio. We'll be right back.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
All right, everybody, Welcome back in to the tyrack dot
com studios. It is up on Game. If you missed
any of the show today, it was a fire show.
Make sure you check it out. The podcast will be
going up just wherever it is you get your podcast from.
Just search up on Game and you'll be able to
hear what we got going on. Give a follow, give
(35:37):
a rate and review for the podcast. Really appreciate that.
If you stay tuned in after the show, I guess
you could get some decent content after this show. You know,
Jonas is coming up next. So for those of you
who are aware of who Jonas Knox Is you know
the JKS Show will follow our show after this one.
But of course you've already gotten a great show, so
(35:57):
it'll be really hard for Jonas to come and follow
what it is at Me and Streight had done today.
But if you want to stay tuned in to see
if he can out do it, I'll be listening. So
I like to see if he can do it. So
we have like that challenge going on. But anyways, he'll
be following us after the show is concluded. That's the
JKS Show coming up in a matter of ten minutes.
(36:20):
Before we get up out of here, plex talk to
me about throwing at the combine for you? Did you
I don't recall did you catch balls at the combine?
And is this a real thing?
Speaker 4 (36:34):
Like?
Speaker 6 (36:34):
Is it a quarterback throwing to a Plexico burst? To me,
I'm like, if I'm throwing a Plexico Burst, I'm probably
throwing to a receiver that's better than the ones I'm
gonna throw too at my pro day. But how does
that work? Super quickly before we get up out of here?
Is it a good thing or is it a bad
thing to throw? Or opt out of throwing at the
(36:54):
combine at this point.
Speaker 5 (36:56):
I mean it has his pros in this cons I
understand exactly what came Water's coming from. You know, he's
throwing the NC double record one hundred and fifty eight
total touchdowns, forty three hundred yards passing this year, thirty
nine touchdowns. He doesn't need to prove itself. His stock
is not going to go up or down based off
of his performance at the pro day. And just like
(37:18):
your door Sanders, both of these guys have the same train.
They're training down in Dallas with the same guy, and
these are the best two quarterbacks in the draft. They're
going to go one and two. He says, it doesn't
matter which which one goes first. It does probably they
would never admit that, but I don't think it hurts
them or helps them either way if they go out
(37:40):
and throw at this pro day. Now, me being drafted
back in two thousand, there were two top there were
two wide receiver was in the top ten. It was
pretty wark in myself and Peter Ward came out and
basically said he wasn't going up. You know, run rouse
to the combine me. I use it that to my advantage.
I went out and I I and I participating in
(38:00):
the combine and I get to the line.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
You know who my quarterback is, Tom Brady. They want
to see me.
Speaker 6 (38:08):
You might have a better quarterback throwing you at the
ball at your pro day, no, or at your combine on.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
The number one receiver in the draft.
Speaker 5 (38:16):
They called me to the line, they say, run of
nine route, stick here fifteen, celebrate.
Speaker 6 (38:21):
For two seconds. Tom Brady didn't know to grab that
ball and throw it to you. I mean, let's be
clear on that. Having a strategic game plan is good too.
Speaker 5 (38:29):
Yeah, it's like, get up to fifteen, nod, get to
the fade red line, tom Brady, when you when you
stick your fifth foot in the ground, turn it loose
and he threw the ball bout fifty sixty yards. I
ran it down and then just like, oh, and you
know what, I didn't do it.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
I hadn't.
Speaker 5 (38:48):
I didn't have to do anything else after that. I
use it to my advantage. And listen, you don't have
to go out and put in and compete or show
what you have at the combine.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
A lot of these guys do.
Speaker 5 (39:01):
But for them, I don't really think it hurts them
or helps them in either way. If they do not
go out and you know, throw at the combine.
Speaker 6 (39:10):
Hey, you know, the funny thing about what you're saying
is to dissect it now is like, dang Tom Brady
the plexico burds like it didn't It didn't impact.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
It didn't help we were rivals in college.
Speaker 3 (39:23):
Hey, bro, it didn't.
Speaker 6 (39:25):
It didn't affect or impact tom Brady's draft status throwing
you when they said, oh, look at that ball, they
looked at plexico burds. That didn't seem to do anything
for Tom Brady.
Speaker 3 (39:36):
Tom didn't go in the top ten, he didn't go
in the first round.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
He didn't.
Speaker 6 (39:41):
Story man, right, it kind of but it kind of
proves the point of what you're talking about that throwing
the ball doesn't necessarily help you or hurt you. I mean,
maybe it did help him a little bit, and maybe
he doesn't get drafted at all if he's not making
those throws at the combine. But hey, the rest is history.
Tom Brady, the goat of goats. And you know what,
(40:01):
plexa goburs was a bad man as well. And you
know what, this was a bad banging show, bad in
a good way of course, And you know what, it's
time that we shut it down you know, so, hey,
listen to all of those out there. The lesson of today,
compete the lesson of today. Be confident in yourself, know
your worth, and build your brand. You got a whole
(40:23):
lot in front of you, as families and as as
competitors and athletes who are listening to the show. Make
sure you trust the process, do what you need to do,
all right. For Pluxco Bursts and myself, we're up out
of here. It's up on game Fox Sports Radio. JKS
is up right now.
