Now we're gonna talk Miles Garrett We're gonna talk a
couple things going on in the NFL, including some sound
from Shador Sanders before we wrap up this show. But
let's get to the round ball and let's get to
well playing the hits as they say, let's.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Talk a little bit of about the LA Lakers.

Speaker 6 (01:33):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
Now, y'all had your boy in the midst of all
this stuff going on, Nicola Jokicic hits a thirty twenty
twenty triple double.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
That is a first for the NBA. That was an
amazing feat.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
And while you've had Jokic take the basketball world by
storm as being what he's living up to be in
this tree to the Lakers. In the midst of all that,
you see video that surfaces of Lebron James confronting stephen A.

(02:11):
Smith and come to find out that it was over
Bronnie James. Now, before we go into it, I want
to have I want to know what was said between
you know, Lebron James and Steve Well, you know, I
don't even want to know what was said. I think

(02:32):
what I would like to have Patrick do is tell
us what stephen A's response was to Lebron James taking
issue with what what Lebron James had to say about,
obviously the criticism coming from stephen A about Bronnie James.

(02:53):
How exactly did that go?

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Patrick, Well, guys, i'll tell you what like after listening
to it, just Steven A went something a little like
the he's went, now stop it. What I'm about to
tell you right now? What happened between me and Lebron James.
He wasn't. This was not a basketball player talking to me.
This was a father and he confronted me about his son,

(03:16):
Bronnie James.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
That's it. When something like that, guy, that's how.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Well, well I felt like that, thank you. I mean,
stephen A is clearly a legend in the game. And
shouts out to stephen A for pushing the bar up
even higher. He just got awarded a one hundred million
dollar contract from ESPN, so he's clearly he's winning in

(03:47):
the media game, and it clearly shows that there is
still money out there that's circulating, especially in our game,
the content game, the media game. But I mean, if
you saw the video, which i'm I'm and we all
saw the video, Lebron looked like you wanted to choke
him out. Man. It looked like it was almost like
it could be a moment in time there where well,

(04:08):
I guess we should be careful with saying choke out
with isay you're worthy and all that stuff going on.
But anyway, he looked like he might have stole on
him in that moment in time. Is it warranted for
is it warranted for an athlete to get caught up
into a scenario like this. I mean it's a unique
situation because well, we don't see that. I mean it's

(04:29):
the first time in NBA history. I mean you probably
see it in baseball more so than anything else, but
you just don't see it where father and son are
on a team and these are the things and the
dad is the greatest, one of the greatest of all time.
Da da da, YadA, YadA YadA. How how I mean,
are you okay with how Lebron James handled the situation?
I mean, people are going to talk about your son.

(04:53):
I mean, whether he is all the way good or
he isn't, people are going to talk about your I
mean that's just how it is. And you're gonna you're
going to experience that. I've experienced it with with man
Man when he announced they announced they gave him eleven.
People were losing their minds, melting down, telling telling the
world what they felt, how it should happen, how the

(05:15):
project sets should work, who should get it all? People
are going to talk their talk about stuff that's going on.
Do you think that a father, especially a father of
Lebron J just's uh you know, of his level. Do
you think they should get involved with these types of deal?
Should he have had in exchange like that with stephen A.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
You know, I leave, I'll let TJ finish it, man,
I think, uh, you know, it's it's a lot of
layers to this. You know, Noel Lebron and uh, you know,
obviously just everything that you just stated, him and his
son accomplishing something that's never been done in basketball history,
sports history, and knowing Steven and having work with him

(06:02):
and understanding you know he he understands that controversy. You know,
people love controversy, and so you know, Lebron protecting his
son and then you know he you know, he's entitled to,
uh you know, these kind of things of protecting you know,

(06:23):
his son and his brand and all of those things.
But everybody has a job to do. I'm not saying
that you know, it was wrong for him to do,
but you know, don't do it in that fashion, you know,
because all it does it heightens it, it brings it
brings more to the situation. And now everybody is saying that, hey, man,

(06:47):
it is your son. He went to stephen A. You know,
keep my name, keep my son's name out your mouth.
And it's personal. Now that's the part that I don't
like about it. It's not even about basketball. It's under
his roof and he's but he's trying to protect his

(07:10):
son out as soon but it only got worse. So
I don't know what space he was in when he
when he went over to stephen A and he made
these comments or whatever the case may be. But you know,
the facts are going to be the facts. You know,
if he goes out and continues not to play well,
people are going to talk about it, not just steven

(07:32):
a Siff. But I don't think you can just be
emotional about it because it's your son. But understanding the
business side of it also, it's the business that they
are in, and I think that he understands that. But
you know, I kind of just think that, you know,
it kind of got the best of him, and and

(07:53):
it let everybody know that how closely he is paying
attention to what everybody saying about his child. And he's
a father's he's supposed to You're supposed to protect your family,
your kids at all costs. But that right there, I
think it put it on front street of about how

(08:15):
he feels about people attacking his son based off of,
you know, his career and all of those things. It
isn't fair, but he Lebron understands that is the business
side of things.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yeah, uh you know, uh TJ you you you know,
I know you are very like kind of in tune
and you have like a real interesting take on parenting.
Uh and and how you handle things with your kids
like how did how how would you handle it if
it was your kid?

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Like your kid is on the team Stephen A is
saying what he's saying.

Speaker 3 (08:57):
About your kidda that this Now, how do you, like,
how do you handle this scenario? Do you roll on
it the same way that you feel Lebron did, or
do you handle it differently? Like because in the moment,
emotions can you know, they can dictate how you handle
these situations? But I mean, maybe it's not necessarily wrong
how he went about it.

Speaker 6 (09:16):
I don't think any of us can say how we
would handle something until we're putting that situation and your
feelings and your emotions are heightened.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
We don't know.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
But one thing that I do know is this, everybody
walking this earth want to put their kids in advantageous
situations and positions. We all want to put our kids
in a great situation. They come into this world because
of us, from the time they are born to the

(09:50):
time their adults. Everything that we give them, whether it's physically, emotionally, mentally,
it comes from us. We want the that's five kids,
and so Lebron wants the best for his kid. He
was a Because Lebron is who he is, he was
able to put his son in great position. Everybody does it.

(10:13):
It just so happened for Lebron. It was in a
public place, in a national Basketball Association that he put
his son on.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
They all do it.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
They do it in Wall Street, they do it in
their own businesses. Well, why can't Lebron do it? But
everybody got something to say, But do you think he
put him in the best position?

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Though?

Speaker 6 (10:32):
He put him in the best position because that's what
his son wanted to be in. That's what Lebron wanted
him to be in. And if his son doesn't take
advantage of the situation, how long will he be there.
I don't fault Lebron for doing it. Everybody does this
in the business world. Everybody. They put their kids in
situations that they may have may or may have not

(10:55):
earned at that moment, and then over time it happens.
I don't ultimate at all because this goes on nepotism
at his finest. Everybody has been doing this for years.
They've been doing it for Lebron. They gonna do it
after Lebron, But we all we don't know what we
would do until we are in this situation. Because I
know Plex's gonna do all he could for Elijah Leavar,

(11:19):
gonna do all he can for man Man, and I
damn sure gonna do all I can for my son.
And if I was in that position, would I do it?
I'm gonna probably say ninety nine point nine percent.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Yes, I get what you're saying. But when I ask
you the question of do you think that he put
him in the best position, I don't know if he
put him in the best position or not. I'll say this,
Lebron Sons a basketball player. He wanted to play basketball.
So did he put him in the best position. I'm
gonna say yes, because if he's at home, is that

(11:49):
a great position? No?

Speaker 6 (11:51):
No, So absolutely he put him in the best position.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
I mean, it's been happening for a long time, like
you said, across the the streets. I know in football,
it's super super prevalent with coaches, you know what I mean, Like,
look at all these coaches whose sons coach.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
I play. Oh, come on, man, that's what I'm saying.
Did they earn it? I don't know where they even
came from, you know what I mean. Like, other than
to say that that's.

Speaker 6 (12:21):
The coach, you got a former player that played fifteen years,
it can't get on the staff. But you got a
coach a son that don't know half of what the
player know. He gets hired tomorrow and then it ends
up being a head coach. I mean, I'm just saying,
that's just what it is. We live in a world
of halves and have not everybody wants to be a half.
We live in a world to have and half. Not

(12:41):
everybody wants to be a half.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
I mean do you think this is selective? Do you
guys feel like this is this was like selective in
terms of if this isn't Lebron James and Brownie James,
that maybe it's handled a little differently.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
Of No, it's selective because of who it is. It
is Lebron James. So it's a big enough story for that.
That's that's why the selective. And in the in the environment,
in the atmosphere that it was done in, it gets
heightened and and and everybody is looking at it from
a standpoint of you know, it's Lebron James. So just

(13:17):
like everything that you just said, TJ. It's been going
on for and business for you know, since time was created.
But it just happens to be from arguably the best
basketball player that has ever played the game. And when
those things don't add up and you say you're gonna
put your kid in the best position, even us as parents,

(13:41):
I think that we have to you know, understand and
and know what we are you know, putting our kids into.
Even if we think it's the best position, it may
not be for them. So now he's at the forefront, uh,
you know, basically going to Steven ain't saying, you know,

(14:02):
keep it, keep my son's thing much of mouth. Steven
Age is doing his job. Yeah, he's just doing his job.
You can't keep your name. You can't keep the name
out of mouth when you gotta talking about what.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
You're being threatened.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Now. Yeah, so now it's personal, and now it gets
worse moving forward when Ronnie doesn't go out and play well,
doesn't perform well. We will continue to visit this conversation
because of what happened the other day.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
And keep in mind, even if Bronnie was playing like
Nicola Jokic and put up thirty twenty and twenty, there's
always going to be that moment where somebody's going to
find a way to say something disparaging about the kid.
That's just how things work. And you just got to
be able to kind of shoulder it and weather the
storm of it because people always have something to say

(14:53):
no matter what.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
That's just how it works.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Anyways, It's interesting to see how it all plays out
because the Lakers are they have played theirselves back into
relevance to be talked about and to be discussed too.
I'm sure the chagrin of one TJ. Huschman Zida we're
gonna keep the show going on. We're gonna take a
quick break. On the other side of the break, we're
gonna talk Miles Garrett. There was an interesting situation that

(15:17):
took place between him and Jimmy Haslam. We'll talk about
that and get some perspective on that. You're listening to
Up on Game, It's TJ. Huschman, Zada, It's Plexico Burds.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
You know, we got t J.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Hutschman, Zida, we got Plexico Burds, we got myself, LeVar Arrington.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Make sure you stay dowt in tuned into what we
got going on.

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Yeah, post show, we got Jonas Knox coming up after us,
so make sure you stay locked in for that. Obviously,
this week, big news was made, a big, big commotion
was made out of Ohio. It just seems like those
Ohio teams cannot get it right, whether it's the Bengals

(16:21):
with Hendrickson and trying to figure out what they're going
to do with Higgins or now the owner of the
Cleveland Browns Jimmy Haslam Miles Garrett, who I think it
would be safe to say, even though he is not
the highest paid player on the team, is certainly the
best player on this Cleveland Browns team. The owner, at

(16:48):
Miles Garrett's request to have a meeting, deny the meeting.
Us make sure I say this one more time for everybody.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Out there who hasn't heard the headline yet.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
The owner of the Cleveland Browns, Jimmy Haslam, denied a
meeting with his best franchised player on the team in
Miles Garrett.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
I'll pose this question and let's start with you, Plex
what like, how do you how do you make sense
of this?

Speaker 3 (17:29):
Like who denies their best player whether he now and
like keep in mind, he did request a trade. He
said he wants to be traded. Obviously, we know why
they're they're locked in and tied into trying to figure
out what to do at the quarterback's position with Deshaun
Watson based upon the contract that they gave him. Uh,

(17:50):
and it just doesn't seem to be a team that
is trending in the right direction. And well, Miles Garrett
is probably very very frustrated. And we saw that with
Max Crosby in Las Vegas as well. You see, they
award him with a super super large contract to make
him feel good about what they're trying to do. But

(18:12):
that isn't happening in Cleveland's your what's your angle on this?

Speaker 1 (18:15):
What's your take on this? Plex? As it gets that
pretty interesting that the owner wouldn't want to talk to.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
His star player. Uh, I don't understand it. You know,
it kind of you know, it's not similar situation, but
the same thing happened with Khalil Mack and John Gruden
want to be uh, you know then that whole situation.
But I just don't understand why you would not take
a meeting from a the scunner player arguably one of

(18:45):
the best defenders in all of football. He's a cornerstone
basically of your franchise of where you're at right now,
and just all he wants to do is whin football games.
But the Browns just cannot seem to get around the hurdle,
get over the hurdle of you know, obtaining a franchise quarterback,

(19:07):
being able to you know, have a passing game, something
that that that that complements the defense you're talking about.
Two years ago, Man, they were they were the best
defense in all the football and they just couldn't score
any points to you know, when did the vision get
to the playoffs or whatever the case may be. And
he's been in this organization for what seven eight years

(19:28):
now and he comes out and quest of the trade.
Rightfully so because as as you get older in this business,
you want to try to put yourself in the best
position that you possibly can to, you know, to win
a championship. And he's in his prime. Like I said,
he's probably the best defense in and all of football.

(19:50):
And to not take a meeting from him, not even
understanding or knowing what he's going to say to you
in this meeting. Listen, I may crust of the trade,
but if you guys are willing to take these steps
to make us a better team offensively or defensively, or
whatever the case may be, or get me some help,

(20:12):
then I'm opening to staying staying in Cleveland.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Brown, you think that's what it was. You think but
the fact that he never took the.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
Meeting, he would never know. He would never know what
his cornerstone franchise player had to stay in his meeting,
and he declined it.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
And he comes out and says he wants to be traded.
So what do you think is his mindset now?

Speaker 4 (20:34):
As a player like Damn the owner doesn't even want
to sit down and talk to me about me requesting
the trade. He could have win in that good FAI
like with good faith and say, man, listen, this is
why I made the trade. I want to be better.
I want to be able to compete. He knows right
now that the team that they have, when you look

(20:54):
at Cincinnati and Baltimore, the Cleveland Browns are probably the
best team in this division. They do not have what
they need to get over the hump to beat a
Cincinnati team and a Baltimore Ravens football team right now,
based off of the way that Joe Burrow and Lamar

(21:14):
Jackson playing, he understands that, you know what, maybe I
need to request the trade put myself in a better
situation to maybe compete for a world championship.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
And if you look at Miles Garrett, somebody is going
to make you an off of that.

Speaker 6 (21:30):
Maybe you cannot refuse man, to make your team better.
It's a lack of respect. Man, your best player. He
not just a franchise corner. He's your best player. He's
your best player. He's had double digit sackson every year
of his career, accept his rookie year. He's your best player.
And it's not even close. He requests a meeting with you,

(21:51):
You meet with him out of respect, out of respect,
and if you're not gonna trade him, you know what
you say, Miles, we value to much man, We're not
gonna grant that request. But you still meet with him,
and if you are gonna consider it, you let him know.
But to just blow him off like he don't matter. Oh,

(22:12):
this is why the Cleveland Browns the Cleveland Browns. It
says it all. This says it all. Your reaction to
me winning a meeting with you says it all. That's
why they in the dumpster. That's why they gonna stand
a dumpster because of stuff like this. It's a lack
of respect for your best player, Like you don't have
the decency to meet with him. We're not gonna trade you.

(22:35):
We value you too much. He may not want to
hear it, but he can respect it. So now you
blow me off, you have zero respect for me, So
now I have zero respect for you. So now my
back gonna be hurt all year. How about that? Pay
me thirty million dollars because my back hurt. Now you
want to play that game, I can play the same

(22:56):
game you playing like. It's just unbelieve evable that you
wouldn't get this man a meeting and just tell him, no,
we're not trading you.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
What's hard about that? I don't think it's hard at all.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
In fact, as an owner of a business, of your franchise,
if any employee you know, requests an audience with you,
I would think that the proper approach would be to
make time to talk to that employee because they may
have some helpful input and some impactful insight as to

(23:29):
how things can be better or what.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
You know, what the relationship relates to.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Is this all kinds of different directions that that man
is into, like you know, rocks and fossils and stuff.
He might have wanted to just talk about something just
to you know, shoot the ass with him. You know,
you don't even know if it's like business related like,
can we just.

Speaker 1 (23:47):
Have a moment.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
I think it's it's it's cowardly to do that. But
I think a lot of these guys are cowards. I
think a lot of coaches have coward mentalities and they
hide behind the strength and leticism of the guys they coach.
I think a lot of these owners do the same
exact thing that they take coward approaches. That's why they
walk around with all these these security with them and

(24:10):
stuff like that. What you need security for? Don't nobody
really care about you outside of you owning the team?
What you need security for?

Speaker 1 (24:17):
You know what I mean? So I just think a
lot of these people are cowards. And you can see this,
this big dude.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
With these big ass muscles come walking into the into
the meeting room and to your office, and you might
be intimidated by it.

Speaker 1 (24:30):
I don't I don't know.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
It just doesn't add up as to why you would
decline to have a meeting with your franchise player. But
I'll say this, you ain't You're not going to being attractive.
You ain't open for business now with free agents, and
people aren't going to want to go to Cleveland. Even
after giving out one of the dopest you know for
player contracts to Deshaun Watson, I think you kind of

(24:53):
you're destroying any type of you know, kind of desire
or or appear for the Cleveland Browns to be a
destination place for free able appeal and anybody to go
to appeal.

Speaker 6 (25:07):
They're gonna have to overpay everybody. They're gonna have to.
If you want a good player, you're gonna have to
overpay him. Now, if you treat Miles Garrett like this,
how you gonna treat me?

Speaker 1 (25:15):
How you gonna treat me?

Speaker 3 (25:17):
And that's a that's a big message that's gonna go
out there, speaking of treatment. Let's get an update from
Isaac Longcron. But you know, Shador Sanders, he had something
to say about all these critics out here hating on him.
But first let's hear what our got. Ilo has to say.

Speaker 7 (25:30):
What you got, Big lev Our busy day in the NFL,
starting with Kansas City Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy, who was
arrested on Friday night in Williamson County, Texas, which is
outside of Austin, on a felony charge of assault against
a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation.
Now today, Worthy attorneys issued a statement reading, quote, we

(25:54):
are working with law enforcement to ensure they have the
benefit of the totality of the circumstance that led to
this allegation. The complainant was recently asked to vacate mister
Worthy's residents upon discovery of her infidelity. She refused to
do so and made a number of extortive efforts prior
to resorting to this baseless allegation. Unquote again, that a

(26:17):
statement from Worthy's attorneys. Elsewhere, the Chiefs are re signing
receiver Marquise Hollywood Brown to a one year deal, Buffalo
Bill's defensive end Greg Rousseau has agreed to a four
year extension worth a reported eighty million dollars with fifty
four million guaranteed. The Cincinnati Bengals re signing tight end
Mike Gasicki on a three year deal wre with a

(26:38):
reported twenty five million dollars, and the New York Giants
re signed quarterback Tommy DeVito. In college basketball, right now,
number six Saint John's a fifty eight to fifty seven
lead at twentyeth ranked Marquette ten minutes to play in
the second half number nineteen Kentucky leading sixty two to
forty eight at fifteenth ranked Missouri with eleven and a

(26:59):
half minutes remaining in regulation. Guys, back to.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
You appreciate it, I louh. Yeah, all right, let's let's
get to this. Before we get to the break and
wrap up the show, make sure you guys check out
you know, the podcast. It'll go up shortly after the
show ends. If you missed anything, you don't even have

what I mean. Search up on game where every day
you get your podcasts from, and you'll see today's show
posted there right after we get off of the air.

Speaker 5 (27:36):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
We got some sound here from Shador Sanders.

Speaker 3 (27:40):
There has been so much coverage we were talking about
Bronnie James and lebron James and everything that you know
kind of has been taking place with the oversaturation of
coverage on him. I mean, it had gone away for
a little bit because you know, Nicola Joki is obviously
playing some some really inspired basketball, inspiring basketball as well

(28:02):
as Lebron James, but it's still found a way to
make it back into the headlines that Brownie James is
being talked about. Well, Shador Sanders is not I mean,
he's not a Nepo baby. The young man can ball
and can play this game, and yet he continues to
fall under some really really intense scrutiny to so much

(28:27):
to the tune and to the effect that he had
this to say while he was being interviewed during the combine.

Speaker 4 (28:33):
When people say, I'm not you know one of the
top quarterbacks are the top quarterback?

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Is what are y'all going based off of?

Speaker 5 (28:40):
Because I did it year year after year after year.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Then you see the progression.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
So obviously it gotta be some type of external hate
that you have for the family, for the last name,
for anything.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Because I know I proved myself on the field.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
You know, I'm gonna turn it over to y'all. But
this is what I love about Shador Sanders. He's well spoke,
he's well thought out, he's mature, He's confident in his
approach to who he is and what his self worth.
And identity is. And I say that, you guys know
this about me. I say this all the time. Those

(29:14):
who are prepared to be able to speak well when
asked questions, tough questions, personal questions.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
Those who are able to articulate.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
Like internalize, digest what it is that the media is
saying to them in those moments. I love listening to
them talk. I love listening to them express themselves. I
thought Shador Sanders, and some people may say, oh, this
is coming across as a love fest for Shador because
so many people are now maybe being critical of him,

(29:48):
But there's a lot of people that are coming out
to Shador's defense without even taking it onto.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
The football field.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
For me, what I really enjoyed about what I been
listening from Shador Sanders is that he understands how to
handle himself, how to speak to the media, and what
that message is that's coming from him. And that's clearly
based upon how he's been raised, how he's been taught,

(30:17):
how he's been trained, and it's taking place right now.
It's this is something that we should take and put
in a model and say, if you're going to be
this type of player and you want to present yourself
in this type of way. Take a page out of
Shador Sanders' book of how to brand yourself and how
you speak to the media. What would y'all's take on this?

(30:38):
Do you think the hate is warranted for Shador Sanders?
How do you think he's handling the scrutiny and the
things that are being said about him as it applies
to him coming into the league and where he's rated
and what he's rained.

Speaker 6 (30:53):
I mean, at the end of the day, because of
who his father is, it comes with the territory. He
didn't ask for it, but it is what it is.
And at the end of the day, one or two
things is gonna happen. He's gonna play well and everybody's
gonna be like, oh, I was wrong, but they're not
gonna say they were wrong, or he's not gonna play

(31:14):
well and told you And so either either way, the
critics are always gonne. They're gonna always feel like they're right.
But it I mean, when when you're putting this situation
and he's put in because of who prime is, it's
always going to be a microscope. And the good thing

(31:37):
about it is he's been dealing with this his entire life.
He has a good idea and understanding of how to
deal with it, handle it, and so Prime is giving
them the blueprint on how to handle these type of things.
And now they they may have some slips up, slip
ups here and there, but for the most part, I
think he does a great job of handling. But at

(31:58):
the end of the day, if you play well, you
shut him up. And if you don't, say I told
you so, man, I just you know, I love his confidence. Man,
And you know everything that has been said about him.
I just read a few articles about his whole combine
experience of what happened there, and it just seems to

(32:21):
me like the first two or three lines of every
sentence was he had on two or three diamond chains
in his hat, turn to the back.

Speaker 4 (32:29):
He's unprofessional. Those are the first things that jump off
of the page and the first three or four sentences
of everybody reporting on this young man. And just like
he said, he's proven himself. Oh he's falling out of
the first round. He's unprofessional, he's brash, he's confident. Man,

(32:51):
If you walk into any room, or you play this game,
you play basketball, football, whatever the case may be. Man,
if you ain't confident in yourself, you might as well
just stay home because you're not gonna be able to
play if you don't believe me yourself first and foremost.
And listening to him, man, it took me back to
when my son left off to go to college. Man,
I think it's emotional. I had ever been like in

(33:14):
my whole entire life, outside of you know, my mom
and we men, Me and my little man had a
like a real deep conversation and it had nothing to
do with football. And we sat down and we talked
and I said, man, you know this, this house has
been tough love and I and I and I hope
you understand and one day you made up you will.

(33:39):
But my job as a father is to raise and
to build a young man's character and integrity of that
no other man can break. And that's me being a
father to my son. We're not even talking about football
and the confidence that he exus and I instilled into

(34:02):
him of being a strong young man, of him going
out and to accomplish all of his dreams. When I
sit there and I tell people, I said, man, this
young man right here, he's going to be the best
way I receive in college football in two years, and
people look at me like I'm crazy. I said, man,
I know I know his will, I know his determination,

(34:25):
I know his passion. I understand his love for his
craft and everything that he wants to accomplish, and he's
going to do those things. And when I see when
I when I hear Shaedor sit there and talk about
all the things that he's saying, it's the same way
that we all raise our sons to be, and he
is doing it just that. If he comes off branh

(34:47):
and confident, he believes in himself, there's nothing wrong with that,
and he's going to go out.

Speaker 1 (34:53):
He's going to perform.

Speaker 4 (34:54):
But everything that he says and does it will be
scrutinized one way or another. So, man, you know what,
go out, present yourself, play well, prepare, and then we
will see what everybody has to say a year from now.

Speaker 3 (35:11):
He's been d on Sun for a long time. Keep
in mind, he's had to deal with being d on
Sun from day one, and all he has done is
found a way to rise his level of standard and
achievement for it to be about Shador more so than
anything else. So I would believe the kid if I
was listening to him just based off of his track

(35:32):
record and knowing what he's had to deal with as
Deon sanders Son. So hey, that's just my opinion on it.
You've heard our opinions on it. We're going to take
a quick break. On the other side of the break,
we're gonna wrap this thing up and get up out
of here and turn it over to Jonas Knox. All right,
you're listening to Up on Game. This is Fox Sports Radio. Yeah,
we'll be right back.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
Yeah, welcome back in. It's Up on Game. It's tyrack
dot com studio. If you missed anything, don't worry about it.
Go check out the podcast. It's going to go up
right after the show. If Jonas decides to bore you
and you just want to go listen to what we
had to say, well he's on. Just go go to
the podcast and type in up on Game. But Jonas

(36:29):
will be coming up in a matter of moments before
we get up out of here. We talked about DK
Metcalf and the Tyler Lockett Day, which will forever be
known as the day that apparently Tyler Lockett was the
most underrated receiver in the history of the game, that
just wasn't signable enough back to your team, and they
wanted that to be his legacy. I don't get it.

(36:50):
But Tyler Lockett is released and let go. DK Metcalf
wants to trade before we get up out of here?
Where do you think it makes sense? I'm hearing New England.
I heard h Daniel Jeremya say that New England would
be a great great landing spot. I look at what
they're doing. I mean, could he follow Gino to the Raiders?

(37:11):
What you guys think about DK Metcalf and his next stop?
I like, I like the whole Green Bay Angle as well.
What do you guys think, man, Dk? He can he
can help any team. He can help any team.

Speaker 6 (37:25):
But if I'm DK, man, I'm trying to get to
a team that has a high level quarterback that can
maximize my talents. And so the Chargers with Herbert, Kansas
City with Mahomes, the Houston Texans CJ. Stroud, those are
teams that may need a receiver the Texans may be

(37:49):
the only team that because they're paying Nico Collins with
their panel, may not be willing to pay DK that
and the compensation as well as the Chiefs. But if
I'm the charge, I'm going to all in on this
because now if you put Justin Herbert with DK and
what Lad McConkie did last season, now you have an
offense that people you got to respect what they can

(38:11):
run the ball and really throw it and get down
the field throw on it. And so for me, he
wants to get with a high level quarterback so that
he can really maximize these last four or five years
of his career.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
Man, it's echoing everything that TJ just said. Man, he's
going to go onto any wide receiver room and he's
going to bolster that, you know, that group of talent,
and it doesn't really matter, you know where he goes to.
And you know, you get to a certain point in
your career and you write down, you know, all the
pros and cons of different things that you want to

(38:46):
do from a personal standpoint, things that you want to
accomplish from a career standpoint, and you know, obviously the
goal is to get to the pinnacle to sport. And
the only way that you can really you know, maximum
that is to put yourself in a situation to play
with elite quarterback. How many elite quarterbacks are there in
the league? Is it? Do you do you want to

(39:08):
chase money or do you want to chase a championship?
And uh, you know, I think, I really think that
Baltimore is a great place for him. You know, he
had him and you put him into the offense with
Lamar and especially a running game. You know, you have
a big body out there to wipe the position. You
put him along. Uh you know Jay Flowers and Mark

(39:30):
Andrews and now you're talking about having a real Super
Bowl contending team offensively. But uh, you know, you put
him in any any room. Man, he's going to make plays.
You know, he's a phenomenal talent. But for him, it's
just about you know, where he wants to go, where
he wants to end up. He has a lot of
value in Green Bay.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (39:50):
You know, Mike advmans may retire, you just never know. So, Uh,
I can see him playing anywhere. So it doesn't matter
where he goes is going to continue to produce. Well,
there you go, there you have it. You've been put
up on game. Officially, the three headed monster was in
effect today. Voltron dig Connect panteen man with that hair,

(40:16):
he was hair. Strict Armstrong with the banged up ankle
he was hair. And LaVar Arrington, yup, he was here,
two and third person. All right, So listen up, stay
tuned in, stay locked in, because we are now finished
and we are about to get back to our daily
duties outside of the radio. But Jonas Knox is coming

(40:37):
up shortly, so you'll want to stay locked in and
tuned in for that.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
Hope y'all.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
Enjoy y'all weekend, enjoy your day, do something nice for
somebody else other than yourself. Jonas Knox Show is coming
