Speaker 1 (00:39):
And putting on.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
The headsets and joining us courtside. It's Noah Clowney. No,
it's christ and Tim upstairs. Great to have you join us.
Thank you so much, Noah. Another big night for you,
another big night for your team. Great atmospheres. You guys
came back in the fourth quarter. What was it like
to be on the floor for that one?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Man?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
We just be over bro. We just try to get
a win. We're playing hard, get stops and rebounds. We
made some shots in the process and number won a game.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
No, what's the key for your success right now?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
You're playing at such a high level.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
I try to start on defensive end. I beat a
few times, but I can recover a lot of the time.
We got some blocks we got in transition, got layups,
offensive rebounds, and then when I'm open, I'm gonna shoot it.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
You look really comfortable shooting it out there. Is that
something that you've I know you you were a good
shooter at Alabama. But what has it been like making
the adjustment of NBA in that longer three point line? Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, it's exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
That is a little bit further, gotta get your legs
and a little more stronger risk. But you know, just reps,
give more reps and reps. Man, man, this is getting
better and better.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
How's Alabama gonna do today? Hey man, I need you
that one. I need you that one. Well, they're hanging
in right now. At about nine minutes ago, they're down.
One other thing.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
I wanted to shay to you, your g league brothers,
the Long Island Net's going to the conference.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I know you're not with them, but you gotta feel
proud of what they're doing. I have, I mean keeping up.
They just beat the Magic.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
They beat this twice when I was there, so we
owe them one.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Oh shit, you're happy to be up in the NBA contributing. No,
we really appreciate you joining us. Thank you so much
that is Noah Clowney another seventeen point effort as the
Nets beat the Pistons one thirteen.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
To one oh three.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Noah Clowney seventeen points, four block shots, second teenager in
that history with four or more block shots in a game,
joining Jared Allen and right now Kevin Olli is at
the podium. Nets win it one thirteen to one oh three.
Let's hear from the head coach of the Nets, bro.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
What can you say just about what they showed you
here tonight, especially the way that they were able to
rally that fourth quarter.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Yeah, they just kept hunting. They kept hunting, hunting. We
wouldn't finding none to eat in that first three quarters,
but they just kept going out there, and then we
finally found a pace that we wanted on defense and offense.
And then it really started with Noah and j Will
and our young guys playing and you know, blocking shots,
getting stills in them e. G. B's and then Nick

(03:16):
took it.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
To a whole other level.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
So it's just it's just hunting season, and we not
finish that. We just want to keep hunting to the
to the last seconds run out of this season. But
I'm just so proud of the resilience finished that game.
I think with a twenty two run. That shows resilience,
that shows fight, that shows they staying in it no
matter what's going on. And that's championship. That's the championship coaching,
championship foundation where we want to build.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
You ended the game with Noah and Jalen Wilson, and
what did you just see from them and what made
you want to go with those extended minutes, especially that fourth.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Yeah, I've seen everything. I've seen the Brooklyn wait, I've
seen grit, I've seen some styles. I've seen some provado
and that's Brooklyn. Uh, you know, Brooklyn got stop, but
we're gritty. So that combination of both of them is great.
And the confidence that they shown, h Noah hitting the
big three, you know Dennis, you know, trusting him with

(04:10):
it in the fast break, and then Dennis really stepped up.
I played him a little longer than I wanted to,
but he stepped up. I'll give him a break tomorrow.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
You're down fifteen with about seven and change to go.
Everything that you had done up to that point, most
of it they had answers for. Yeah, what was it
in your mind that allowed you guys to get a
higher energy level and to be able to turn this.
I think the final run might have been twenty nine
to four.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Okay, Yes, it was just a ball pressure, it was
a wheel, it was a belief, it was all those
combinations of things.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
You know.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
They picked it up on the defensive end, and I
told you that's what we want to hang out hats here.
And they kept getting stopped after stop after stop, because
you can't go on a twenty nine four run without
getting stops and you block shots getting out in pace.
We just did everything we wanted to do in that
last six seven minutes and that just shows we have
a hell of a team here when they lock in

(05:09):
and they do the right things and they play the
right way, And that's just another courageous moment that they've shown.

Speaker 8 (05:15):
Again, Karen, you mentioned just trusting Jaling and knowing those
final mins. You mentioned earlier that you would have stick
with whatever worked in the rotation if you meant going
to the young guys for them to just kind of
have these moments now lately, What does it do for
a young player when they're able to be trusting in
these games and they deliver, not just being out there
with freedom, but they actually deliver on those moments.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Yeah, it means everything, and that's why we still plan
for something we're not. I mean, everybody wants me to
keep saying we're not playing for nothing. We're playing for everything.
Those guys are playing for everything. Everybody starting us playing
for everything because we're trying to build something special here
and these games matter. Everything impacts everything.

Speaker 6 (05:51):
Coach, we saw a little extra motivation and excitement from
you at times, especially after some of those big time
blocks in certain plays. Just what was the emotion for you,
Like just to be at where you guys are this season,
but to see these guys just finding their moments and
just stepping up to the level of play that you
like to see.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Yeah, you know, I I push them hard, you know
I I I you know, I be honest with them.
I try to let them know that tomorrow's not promised
and we have to give everything we have today and
they I'm just so happy when they do it and
they play together and they get some fruit for their labor.

(06:33):
We've been through a lot, and those guys never win
in the separate directions. They stayed in the boat rowing together,
and that's why I get so excited about cause they're
playing together, they're playing hard, and they're reaping some of
the things that they've sown, the seeds they've sown, and
they're seeing some some brutiful feud come up out of it.
And we just got to continue that and keep playing,

(06:54):
keep trusting one another, keep loving one another, and you know,
just building this foundation break by brick and you know,
hopefully the fans are proud of us and this team.

Speaker 9 (07:05):
Speaking of the fans being proud, it seemed like they
were in that fourth quarter of the building was really
loud during that run. What type of energy did you
feel just in the whole atmosphere while that was going on.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Yeah, I felt everything. I felt all the fans, I
felt everybody behind us. You know, I just felt. I
just felt that Brooklyn way. It's something about Brooklyn and
we're gonna build something special here. If it's four more games,
if it's next season. I'm just so grateful to coach
this team and to have these moments with them as

(07:39):
everything as priceless.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
That's head coach Kevin oli Is. The Nets defeat the
Pistons one thirteen to one oh three. The Nets scored
the final nineteen points of the game. Over the last
five oh seven, Pistons were up one o three to
ninety four with five oh seven to go, and the
Nets go on a nineteen nothing run to close it
out out one thirteen to one oh three.

Speaker 5 (08:01):
Oh What was interesting, and it was alluded to in
the press conference, was the players that were on the floor, right,
and it was Dennis Shuter and then a whole bunch
of young guys Jalen Wilson, Noah Clowney, Nick Clason was
out there and Cam Thomas and that's who uh Kevin
Ollie rode with. He stayed with that group. He didn't
rotate any other guys in. They brought the energy, they

(08:23):
finished it off, and it was a very very regardless
of who you're playing against and who's missing. I think
this Net team the organization and certainly then I think
it really comes from coach Kevin Aalie. Is you appreciate
a victory like that. You know, you came back, it
could have easily not gone that way, and you could

(08:43):
have given up in the game. And I just think
he keeps you motivated in the right way. And I
thought the Nets performed well and It's great to see
the young guys doing it.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Shout working against Metsu jab staff cuts right, kick to
the corner of Wilson right.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Quarter three, It's gone. Jalen Wilson.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
A dagger with thirty eight seconds to go put the
Nets up eight. Jalen Wilson made a couple of threes.
That one right there put the game out of reaches.
The Nets score the final nineteen points of this game
to beat the Pistons one thirteen to one oh three.
Nets were down by as much as nineteen in the game.
Outscore the Pistons thirty eight to twenty in the fourth

(09:23):
quarter and they defeat Detroit. Takeing a look on Twitter
at BK Nets Radio is the way to reach this
gene mosque. Big comeback after trailing by nineteen. Like what
Clowney said, it starts with defense four blocks key three
by Jalen Wilson, which you just heard right there. Big
fourth quarter from Cam Thomas and Shrewter. Nets hit their

(09:44):
foul shots, take it to the rack and not settling.
That was a big key to this game. The Nets goes.
The Nets go twenty six of thirty three from the line.
Contrast that with the Pistons attempting just four free throws
in the game.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
Yeah, that was That's his bigger difference is you're ever
ever gonna see? And good job by Geene, because it
was an aggressive way that the Nets were attacking the
basket that led to those files. They went at the Pistons,
they didn't defend without fouling the too much physicality on
a lot of the drives and then that's it resulted
in free throw attempts.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Good job by the Nets.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Spencer checks in with us on Twitter the segment that
he made famous, and he's got his Nets old school
blue jersey, the throwback they wore a couple of years ago,
the homage to the throwbacks, and he's give us a
little fist pumps. So Spencer got to go to the
Yankees home opener. Helped him out. Some people picked him up,
I think just fans, guys he met on Twitter, picked

(10:42):
him up, got out of the stadium. Yankees helped him
out down there and he was able to go to
the game.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Well you can see how what a great guy is,
how many friends he has and how many people care,
I mean the amount of people that are attached, you know,
to his tweets and all that. It's not just me
and you, pal, He's got a ton of people out there.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
But we appreciate him listening, and his daughter Victoria for
for sticking around landing and she could tweet for him.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Uh so, thanks for checking in guys, and said they
did not feel the earthquake, but my mom and sister
arelicidd Okay, we'll get everybody's.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Everybody in there. Maybe they were in the car. Did
you feel that? Yeah, I didn't feel you. No, I
didn't feel it. You missed out?

Speaker 5 (11:23):
Yeah, I's sorry. I'll be all right. I got an
eclipse on Monday.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Have you ever ready for that? Not going on in
the world. I can see you falling asleep and missing
the eclipse.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
No, I'm gonna say it's over rating.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
But it's actually upstate New York because we're really good. Buffalo.
Buffalo is a great angry Yet if the sun comes out,
that's a good point. Yeah, yeah, it might be.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
It's pretty dark, squaw, that's a good point.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
We missed the eclipse. We got a lake effect.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
But you know, there was an eclipse one about seven
eight years ago, but this one is like gonna be
two to three times. It's more dramatic.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I just want you to know.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
It happen all the time apparently, but usually it's over
the ocean. You can't see it. Most of the world
is covered by the ocean. Yes, and to be in
the mainland US, it's it's rare.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Remember your guy Bob Murphy had a great line. He
said three quarters, yeah, three quarters of the land. The
other world is covered by water and the other part
by Gary Maddox. Yeah, I can't do Bob Murphy, but
he did something like that.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
What was the okin do? Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
Uh, that's when it won thirteen to one oh three.
It was a great atmosphere, great here in the fourth quarter.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
Right, yeah, the place is rocking. I mean just a
good energy. It felt like you know, it was just excellent.
I thought, you know, game ops. Paul Camera's the job
he does with everything is unbelievable. The crowd was really
into It was a big part of the comeback.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I thought, you don't get a lot, you know, the
Saturday game to get big crowds here because obviously, you
know it's a weekend. You can the kids out. They
had seventeen seven and thirty two and I thought when
the Nets started to make that run late, they could
feel the energy behind him.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
You could see it out there. It was a really,
really good atmosphere and it was fun. And the Nets
came back and they they yeah, they turned it off.

Speaker 5 (13:16):
And really, I mean Detroit, yes, they don't have that
same play, but the Nets weren't playing all.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
It was just really good.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
It was a good it was a good night of basketball,
great energy in the building, and.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Again Noah Clowney's stepping off and really getting you excited.
Seventeen points, blocking shots there at the end, teaming up
with Nick Klason, who has made some big defensive plays there,
Lake gave them some good energy, you know, and Shooter
going into attack mode and Jalen Wilson making a mixed shot.
That's it was a good contribution from the young players,
and that's what you want to see I think here

(13:48):
going into the final. This was you know, now four
games left in the regular season after this, just leave
it on a on a bright note, you know, have
some good positive energy going.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Into the office.

Speaker 5 (13:58):
And I thought, Noah Clowney has done that. Now for
a few games. He's been I'm not just pretty good,
he's been really good. Jellen Wilson doing the same, and
Cam Thomas just continues to be this guy.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
We don't even talking about him right now. Thirty two
points he got thirty two.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Wasn't a big deal. Gets in a free throw line,
makes a lot of plays. Yeah, he gets his thirty
every night, and then it's not a big deal. I
you know, I let's have some holes to fill it
and it's it's obvious, but there's also some nice things
to look at, and that's exactly what these games are
about right now.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Thomas ended up being ten of eleven from the free
throw line for his thirty two points as the Nets
again come back from nineteen down score the final nineteen
points of the game to turn a deficit of one
oh one. It was one o three ninety four Detroit
with about five oh seven to go, and then the
Nets when it won thirteen to one oh three. Nets

(14:51):
a one thirteen, one oh three victory over the Detroit Pistons.
Purdue is moving on to the a NCAA Final as
they knock off the number eleven seed NC State sixty
three to fifty, going to the championship for the first
time since nineteen sixty nine. And right now there is

(15:12):
about forty two seconds to go in the first half,
Yukon with a forty two to thirty eight lead over Alabama.
Alabama was even or up won earlier. Yukon won a
little bit of a run to go up by seven.
Then Alabama just made a three. The thing that will
keep Alabama in this game is they are home run hitters.
They can they can bomb it away from deep, so

(15:35):
I think you still might have a competitive game there.
And then of course tomorrow is the women's Championship as
South Carolina will take on Iowa, Iowa and Caitlyn Clark.
But you know, all the press this year has been
going to Iowa and Yukon. Yeah, South Carolina's lost a
one game in like two calendar years.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
Well yeah, then lost, Yeah, lost the game this year.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
I lost the game this year and lost a lot.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
Of players that the turnovers have been out said is that,
you know, Don Staley doing an unbelievable job again. But
that will be a lot of fun. And it was
a lot of fun watching the women's games last night.
I'm sure tons of our fans watch those games. They
were really entertaining, really talented. Caitlin Clark, but Page Becker's
a lot of great talent.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Talent right now in the NBA. Only four games tonight
in the NBA. We saw them last week and I
think they could be the sleeper in the West right now,
if you want to call a team with Lebron James
the sleeper. But the Lakers beat Cleveland today one, sixteen
to ninety seven. Lakers are only half game out of
the seventh spot.

Speaker 5 (16:40):
You know Cleveland's fall, it hasn't been good. Now they
are I think they're eleven and seventeen after the last
twenty eight games.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
They have not played well in a while.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
Yeah, some of that's Ben Mitchell's you know, it's injuries.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
But it's their third straight loss in this one. They
dropped now into a three way tie for the third
spot with the Magic and the Knicks. But the Lakers
with the win, moving to a tie with the Pelicans
for the seven seed, only a game behind Phoenix for

(17:12):
the six to get out of the play it.

Speaker 5 (17:14):
Yeah, that is really what I mean. There's a lot
of jockeying going on right now. You start thinking about
the different everybody's scheduled down the stretch and where they
could end up and you know what would be even better.
I think even in the East, I don't know if
you want to not be a four or five. You
know it's three four five are battling. I don't know
who wants to be the three because you could end
up you could play you play the sixers if they

(17:36):
keep playing well, right, I mean the way em beads
look beads back, they're throwing a lot of you know
who the heck knows. There's a lot of different variations
of things that could happen, but it's a I think
it's outstanding that the interest going down the stretch of
a season is so high going.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Into the playoffs, Sixers in Memphis tonight and Philadelphia with
a seventy two to fifty eight lead over the Grizzlies,
and Denver hosting Atlanta Denver forty four to twenty nine
lead over the Atlanta Hawks. So the Nets beat the
Pistons one thirteen to one oh three. Right back at
it tomorrow night at Barkley Center, taking on a Sacramento
Kings team that has been struggling with some injuries. Kevin

(18:16):
Herder is out for the year, Malik Monk is out,
and they are they've now slipped into ninth, two games
ahead of the Warriors and now a full game behind
both New Orleans and the Lakers. So Sacramento have lost
to in a row, they've slipped to ninth. We'll see
the Kings tomorrow night right here at Barkley Center seven
to twenty with the pregame show seven point thirty tip

(18:36):
to take a look at the upcoming schedule. It is
brought to you by Ticketmaster Make More Memories Live with Ticketmaster,
the official ticket marketplace of the Brooklyn Nets and the NBA.
So Tomorrow night against Sacramento, and then a couple of
nights later, the Nets will play their final home game
of the season against the Toronto Raptors. Well our maxip
Telecom Player of the Game for the Nets tonight, Kap.

(19:00):
You have as the player of the game, a couple
of guys to choose from, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:03):
A couple of I'm gonna go, let's go as shorter
I thought he carried him home in a fourth quarter.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Twenty four in the game, thirteen in the fourth I
went seven to eight from the line, eight of ten
from the floor. Piston styed in this game because they
made threes. They were seventeen of thirty nine. They got
twenty from TAMESSI met to got a good game from
Marcus Sasser who made three threes. He had eighteen points,

(19:29):
Jay and Ivy had sixteen points in ten assists. And
let's face it, they were a team that were playing
without Kid Cunningham and yeah, Isaiah Stewart, Jalen Duran. I
mean a lot of good players, well play starters. Yeah
for the Pistons, but I know it's been a rough
year for Detroit as they dropped to thirteen and sixty
five on the season. Net's improved to thirty one and
forty seven. Thanks for tuning in to another edition of
