Speaker 1 (00:03):
What's Appic's way up at Angela Ye, this is amazing.
Jasmine Brand is hair Mayno's Hairy CEC's in the building.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
What's up, y'all?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
First of all, we got to start off with all
the congratulations just everything that you've been doing.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
And I love seeing you in New York and I
love seeing you in Brooklyn a lot.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Hey, b kay what I like it? I like it.
That's your listen. I think that New York is just amazing,
you know, the energy from the city, from the fans,
but also the people. There's a lot of like grit,
you know, and like culture and just just great vibes,

(00:43):
you know, in the street every day. I think for
my kids it's really fascinating because you go see a
touch of everything and it is a city that never sleeps.
Like I'm like, oh my gosh, like a siren here,
somebody yelling here, somebody honking a horn here, something is
going on every day. But it's really been so fun
so far. It is Oh, it's it's like not and

(01:06):
day because you know, we live in San Diego when
we're in the off season, and so that pace is
like more chill, you know, it's the palm trees, the sunshine.
You know, it's a certain kind of energy and it's
really bright and fun. And then you come here, which
is also really bright too, but it's like more gritty
and it's more like it's just.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
The kids very well rounded. I credit like for New York.
It makes you have a lot of streets marts too,
it does.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
And also culturally you run into so many different types
of people here, different types of food.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Like, Yeah, I'm excited for the diversity experience that our
kids are going to have. I'm excited for that cultural experience,
you know. I'm excited for the culture shift or like
change you're going to go through because even though it's
not Atlanta, you know, it's the East Coast, and there's
something about this side of the world. I just like

(02:01):
the bottom of it. Like I like, they'll have that,
you know, like, and they'll be able to adjust no
matter where they go.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
And we drink ten to one m no matter what
time the day it is, Yes, it don't matter. Speaking
of your kids, your favorite interview, yes, I think that
you've done is your daughter sena interview see the.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Other the Little Season.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
And when I tell you, her interview was hilarious, you
were trying to keep her on track.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Oh my gosh, no, I was like, Mama, I had
to like stay like real chill because she was turning it.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
But it was so good.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
It was like so expressive and like funny and like honest, yes,
was it love? Was it romance?

Speaker 4 (02:46):
I was.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Where's she getting this?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
She might have a career. I was like, these are
good questions because she was going off script. How she
was she was going off script, she was moving on ye.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
She was like doing pure feelings. And I love that.
I love that she's just eight years old with like
this massive personality and like this really sweet passion and
love for me. That's so cool. Like I cannot even
like explain like how sweet it is that she looks
up to me the way that she does and like
is so you know, you know, supportive of me, and

(03:24):
it's really sweet. It's crazy.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Isn't it amazing to see how you are for a
lot of people, and you've been in this business so
long since you were young. Like the inspiration I saw
Mariah the Scientist did an interview and she was talking
about Burning Blue and she said that she was inspired
by you for that video.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
So sweet. Yeah, honestly shout out to Mariah because I
think she's also released in this week. And you know,
it's so cool. It's so inspiring to me, you know,
to hear that, because I know what it was like
growing up and you know, being inspired by artists and like,
I know the feeling that that made me feel. So
for someone to have that similar feeling about me is like,

(04:02):
it's pretty cool, you know, It's it's definitely very inspiring
for me to hear that.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Well, let's get to why Mayno's here today, because.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Now he's what's going on planning his wedding? Oh yes,
let's go.

Speaker 5 (04:19):
Angela.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
The thing is, so we know, we know the location, Okay,
we have the ring picked out. I'm the best man, Okay,
I'll be.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Best girl.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
So we have all of this plan out the way.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Is this really happening?

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Well, as soon as he finds a wife. Oh now,
just being in.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
The room listen, I was like, this is sounded really interesting. Okay,
what's going on? Man? Now tell me the situation you're saying.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
I wanted to I wanted to put the car in
front of the horse, Okay, I wanted to kind of
uh put it out in the universe, and I wanted
to really that are just talking about it? I wanted
to do it right. I said, you know what, I'm
gonna set all these things up and then I'm gonna
find me a wife later and.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I haven't found Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Set up what things set up? Like you said the
ring ven you got all set it up? Did you really?
Are you really doing it?

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Documented dates in mind?

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Date we had passed, the date.

Speaker 5 (05:26):
He would have been earlier, maybe you could have found
him a life and time.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Okay, so he needs help them. We need to go
backwards and we need to just take a couple of
steps back. Okay, we need to start from scratch. Okay,
you just hold on to your coins for two seconds here, sir. Okay,
spending all that already now listen. I like the vision
the way you're trying to get to you. Okay, the

(05:50):
vision or where you're trying to get to you. You
want to find your queen. Every king deserves his queens, right,
So that's great, that's a great vision. Okay. Now we
need to understand this specifics. What does she look like
to you? What does she talk like to you? Are
you going to be ready for her? Is it? One
is it woman or is it one one? Is it one?

(06:12):
See we have you are out of order, you know,
but this is but.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
This is what makes me ask you this question. Everybody
looks at you, as in your family, as being like
the epitome of a couple goals? Do you feel pressure
in that?

Speaker 2 (06:33):
I feel blessed to be honest with you. You know, listen,
we're not perfect, you know, so I think you know,
you never earlier, you never really want to put your
faith in like man, Like I'm just a big believer
in that. But you know, I think it's really inspiring,
you know, to people say that, because I know how
blessed we feel the love that we have, and I
know how powerful this love is, so you know, it's

(06:56):
really sweet more than anything, you know. But like I said,
I'm not going to be like you know, like I said,
you don't want to put your faith in man to
be like you know that you watch perfect and perfect.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
Let's not forget how people was hating at first, and
now look at That's what I'm saying. Though at first
it was like it's.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Not now remember people I don't remember that name they were.
They were acting like, oh, she's not into you know,
because you know why what made me really see that?
Because Love Island. They were comparing it to Nick and Olandria.
Which one is?

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Who is that? Which season is that?

Speaker 3 (07:32):
This one? Yeah, I haven't seen this one, but people
were saying that she's not.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
And then somebody did a whole post and was like,
you know, it's kind of like how y'all was trying
to act like rustling here wasn't real, but now that's
y'all couple's goals and you see how long it's lasted.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
And it is reel. But that's why, like you said,
sometimes you have to like block out the noise.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Yeah, no, you can't live your life for the world
and for others. You know, if you if you do that,
you never live. I think you just have to know
it's true to you. We don't have you know, It's
not about living life for the world, you know, it's
living life for each other and having an understanding of
what your foundation is with each other. Like that's what
matters the most, you know. So, but I was saying earlier,

(08:12):
you know, I think sometimes people speak about things and
they haven't experienced it. They say things a certain way
when they don't know. Okay, right, you know, or like
their definition of love may look different than what they see.

Speaker 4 (08:23):
So they know the thing is And I'm sorry not
to cut you off. I feel like we don't have
that many examples in our culture, right, especially the young
urban culture. Everything is fast, everything is accessible. We don't
have these examples of what these strong relationships look like.
So your relationships stand out is probably the most popular

(08:44):
relationship because of that, because we don't have many examples.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
So sweet, No, thank you so much. No, it's a blessing,
you know, it's it's a gift to do life every
day with us. You know, he's special, you know he's
he's different, you know, Just to be honest with you,
And so funny because if I could think about, like
how you would describe, like thinking back to like you know,
the evolution of me as a woman, and like relationships,

(09:09):
like you know, when you meet the love of your life,
it's supposed to feel different than anything you've ever experienced before. Okay,
it's supposed to that.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
It was it a slow burn or was it it
was automatically like.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Oh, it was automatmatic. I got it.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
I'm calling Russ.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Nobody's lives.

Speaker 5 (09:34):
When you're when.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
You're cooking these you know, you're known for match making
when you're when you have when you're in in this
mode of kind of playing match making or not playing,
but you know kind of people, what is it that
you're looking for? Like, first of all, do they hit
you first? Like, hey see if you know anybody?

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah, so, you know, I think with your friends oftentimes
you know like where they are in their lives and
you know, like what they desire. And so when you
get those, you know, special moments, you know, especially Russell
and I, we like to do it together. We like
the tag team together. When you get that chance to
connect people, it's exciting, you know, because I think we

(10:12):
just feel so blessed to share the love that we do.
We want people to like experience it too, like and
everyone deserves to experience love at whatever level was best
for them, but everyone deserves it.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Are there some behind the scenes ones that didn't work
out that we don't know about?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
No, because the Lord No, sometimes you try to hook
your friends up and yeah, no, no, listen, now we're
doing all right.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Nobody to keep these good vibes in the universe.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
You're right, but not knowing it wasn't going on because
I've talked.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
I tell he said it was many a time.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
No, No, I tell women go out with him, but
just know it's not going nowhere. I give them all
at least that it's true. I've said it.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
I said it in front of you all. Right, Now,
let's talk about br B because I feel like this
song is relevant. So what we just talked about favorites
right here? So how is it for you when y'all
got to be apart from each other? What's the longest
amount of time that because now you're you know, you're
on the road obviously, like you've been promotingh oh my gosh,
and I know that can't be easy to lead and
like it's the two thousands.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
I'm like a little like a little CC out here
like grad No, it's we we are very intentional about connecting,
you know when we do so, like we've been doing
more date nights than ever in New York, I will say,
because New York just makes you want to go eat. Yeah,
it does.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
It does so many options eat tonight, you know, and
always something happening.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Food is so good. You have like every type of
food that you could want here. No, it's the truth. Yeah, no,
it's the truth. So I love eating. But we're very
intentional about like connecting with each other. So we do
date nights every Friday, and then luckily, like I said,
we've been able to do more because like my schedule
has me rolling, so we're like intentional, like okay, we
do date nights tonight, and it feels like fresh dating.

(11:57):
Like it's like I always say, you got to continually
search for the beginning, you know, like that energy when
you first meet someone, like that extremement's trying to keep
it cute, you know, like Russ always says, you gotta
always compete, you know, kind of like stay on top
of your stuff, like you know, and all that good stuff.
So we talk about like we kind of like are
really like intentional with that idea. But the longest we've

(12:17):
ever been apart, maybe it's like ten days, Like ten.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Is it fun to miss somebody too? I know people
will say sometimes it is good to be a part,
so I.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
Can definitely what what do they say?

Speaker 3 (12:29):
Like makes the heart girl finder?

Speaker 2 (12:31):
As I definitely do be like super turned up. When
I haven't seen him in a while, I jump on him.
When he comes to your door, I jump him jump
little kid. You ready, come on?

Speaker 3 (12:44):
You know strong enough?

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Yeah? Yeah, Speaking of which we're not going to talk about,
how when I was carrying our last baby and I
weigh the same weight as Russ, he't want to try
to pick me up there, but he could though he could.

Speaker 5 (12:57):
When you're pregnant, you still run and jump on him.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
N I y.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
Yeah no, but but CC was looking good. I saw
people were saying that too, you know, And how was
that for you? Because that's so different because you've always
been slender, you know, And like you said, you I.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Like what the babies give me, you know. And Russ, honestly,
he really I can give him. I gotta give him
his props. He really made me like embrace it even
more because he loves me, like with my hips and
all that stuff. He's like, I'm like, I'm trying to
work down and get like five more. Like I don't
get too crazy. You need to stay right where He's like.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
It feels good.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
So it's cute, it's sweet.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
And you know, I saw in your interview with Sienna.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
You talked about because when we got it, we got
the checklisting for the album and we got a little
sneak preview and how we wrote was on there and
that song feels like that song was popping for so
long now, and then I didn't even realize it hadn't
been on an album.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
No, So I started off the CC project as an
EP at first, and then it just involved over time.
I went on tour. I've had two babies. I mean,
I've done a lot over the past almost six years,
and so I've been putting out songs kind of like
in pieces, and I'm like, why why am I keep
doing this peace thing? Like, let's just complete the project.

(14:15):
And most importantly, you know, I want to give my
fans a body of work, you know. I feel like
my fans deserve that. And it's been twenty one years
since I put out my first album, right, so for
a minute, yeah, it'd be sitting and still have exactly
we legal.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
People.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
People still care.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
That's a blessing.

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Thank you so much. I do feel that gratitude. So
that's what this project is. I really call a dedication
to my fans, you know, because when you call me
by my nickname, Ceci, it's real personal, you know. And
so I was inspired by that, and I was able
to bring everything together and I'm so excited, like I
feel like that little like when I was a little girl.

(14:58):
You know, that feeling that excitement about the project is coming.
And I also feel like to like when you're delivering
a baby and you go like ten months to the
end of ten months, it's time to get the baby out.
It's time to get the baby.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
You see, they have robots now. I don't know if
you saw this story. Yes, yes, it's in China. Can
carry the baby and also deliver the baby.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
The baby developing that belly, right, That's.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
When technology is why it's not expensive.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
What's crazy to me?

Speaker 2 (15:28):
How does it do?

Speaker 1 (15:32):
It's like IVF and then instead of putting, it's like
having somebody else carry the baby for you.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
But it's a robot in a way, I kind of.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Feel like you're feeding the baby some stuff through the robots.
I guess they have to because like the human feeds,
because I feel like.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
It has to be scared to let someone else carry
your baby because you don't know, like you said, we
can't rely on man, so that can be.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
You already, That's what.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
I'm saying, because a woman can still by like those nutrients.
Who going to sign up for that?

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Could you imagine it's people want to do it.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
I'm telling somebody. So it hasn't it's not It hasn't
come out yet.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
It's going to be thirteen thousand dollars. They're like testing
it out. But that's the price.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
That's not bad.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Is way more expensive, cheaper than for.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
Sure, we're going to see the story of the first
couple who tried this. Well, listen, your husband wants more children.
Maybe you don't want to hear anybody.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
And that, you know what, This is a great higher movie.
Then the robot ends up having feelings, falls in love
with your husband.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Oh she loves loves how you're twisting it.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Yeah, I like that. You also have a movie on
the way right, Yes, oil.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
You know, Russell and I have Russell and I we
have our Wine Productions company, and this is our first
big feature film we're doing in partnership with Amazon Studios.
It's called Sarah's Oil and it's about this young African
American girl became one of the first billion of sorry multimillionaires,
and she discovered the value of oil that her family

(17:08):
was entitled to, and she fought for it, and she
was a very fierce confident. You know, smart girl, and
I feel like, you know, there's a lot of the
Sarah's and I think in a lot of us, or
at least for me, I can relate to Sarah's journey
in reference to believing in yourself and fighting for what

(17:28):
you believe in. But it's a very amazing story, super inspirational.
In November seventh, that'll be in theaters.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
We need that right now, especially what's going on in
the history country.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
You know what history is so important. I know there's
these conversations about, you know, eradicating history and some.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Making slavery seem like it wasn't bad and start making it.

Speaker 4 (17:49):
See, it's like, no, that was real, right, Never do that,
and we should never be in a position that we
want to forget.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
Never write you don't want to downplay the value of
you know, of what the life course has been, you know,
for anyone.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
Right.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
And so it's a beautiful story that we're so grateful
we get to tell. It's based on a true story. See.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
I love that we have these stories that we haven't
heard that can give us the pride that we need
to have and how we are where we are today
despite all of these obstacles.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, No, it's it's really amazing. So November seventh is
the big day. And yeah, you can see.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
That's what I'm saying. She got a lot going on
right now screening.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
So they're actually doing I want to say, we're partnering
up with several outside partners or they're providing screenings for
girls to be able to go and watch the movies.
So the team is putting together the whole plan right now,
and so we're getting kind of like updated in real time.
But I think there's definitely going to be some screening
opportunities for people, and so it's exciting.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
You can find a wife there, maybe why not You?

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Rolling somebody's mom?

Speaker 3 (18:58):
Yeah, you know, listening, he likes listen. You guys also
have the why Not You Foundation that could also spread
off into matchmaking.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Well, the foundation, but why not the title why not You?
I like that why not Love? Why not Love?

Speaker 6 (19:16):
You know?

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Why not You? Man?

Speaker 3 (19:22):
Okay, you know what can you get?

Speaker 2 (19:30):
You gotta jump on him? Yeah, he had that whole
walk down. He said, it's given.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
And you're also the first African American to be on
the cover of Rolling Stone Africa.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
Congratulations for that.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
I didn't even realize that's never happened before. But that's
a you're that's a huge honor.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Thank you so much. I feel so proud of that moment.
You know, I got the great opportunity to go to
and I was blessed to receive citizenship of Beni. I
got to make sure I say it right, it's Beani, Yeah,

(20:08):
I know, yeah, Beni just we've been into us you
would say in French, but I got to, you know,
to have that special opportunity and fun fact is that
I do have a percentage of Beni in me, So
that was pretty cool, a great I'm a great makeup
of me is African, which is amazing. So to have

(20:30):
that opportunity and to be able to share that with
my family and be with the beautiful people of Africa
and Beni in particular and meet with His Excellency President
Talon was just it was an incredible experience, you know,
to to be able to do that and make history
because I was the first person to ever do that

(20:50):
in Beni. And you know, it's a really amazing opportunity
that they're opening up for people to get their citizenship.
And so I'm just like just so so proud.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
We're proud of you. Thank you when I said that
I grew up with you.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
Yeah, honestly, because when we think about some of the
soundtracks to our lives growing up, you're.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Part of that. Oh, thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (21:12):
And to still be always.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
Putting out hit records like for decades, that's a that's
not an easy feat for anybody to be.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
Able to do.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
I appreciate you guys so much.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
And then the ten to one run, we got to
talk about that for a second. Oh, I just spoke
to your partner heart.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Yeah, for the first time, just over the phone, because
I do appreciate what background that he has and that
you guys have partnered up. So talk to us about
what made you decide that was something that you wanted
to do.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Yeah, no, I listen. I've always loved rum. So the
first time I ever had a drink was rum. It
was twenty one years old. I had my first drink.
That was a big, big moment for me at that time.
I know you had you like thirteen, kid, I'm not judging, Okay,
I'm not, first of all, I'm not, but no, that

(21:58):
was really amazing. Would you add me? You said, what
was it like a rum and well it was rum
with OJ and Cranberry. So it's classic, okay, classic, it's
the stuff they put on the table in the club
this much. Oh yeah. It felt like a lot though,
because in my first drink, right you know, so I
actually made one of those the other day with tint

(22:18):
one rum and this club thing we had and everybody
was loving it. I hooked it up. You know, I'm
just saying, yeah, the CC, Yeah, I don't want to
call it that, that CEC.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
The CC something a little more unique, really expensive. Like
at the top of the line, I'm gonna say, mixing it.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
She's twenty one, Like you know what I'm saying, She's
twenty one.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
Choice, it's gonna be said.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Okay, yeah, CC's twenty one.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
We got her all off track.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
She's Captain Jacks anyway, So I am yeah, no, no, no,
So I was. It was during the pandemic. I was,
you know, pregnant is all get out, breastfed is all
for like long enough, like almost ten months, and it
was time to celebrate the moment. So the first drink
that I had was Mohito with ten to one white rum.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
Okay, yeah, it was classic.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
It was so good I'm like, this is special, and serendipitously,
I was actually speaking with me and Mark's mutual friend
and business He's also an investor too, Larry Estrada. He's
one of the key guys at Goman Sachs Russ and
I call him a chief business architect. But he's really smart,
you know, business guy. And he connected me with Mark.

(23:26):
And then when I met Mark, I was like, Oh,
he's amazing. I loved his vision for what he had
crafted and his story was amazing. He was youngest vice
president at Starbucks and then he went off to get
things going and Howard Schultz became the first investor for
ten to one and then I joined him shortly after
as a co founder. And we've been rolling together and

(23:47):
we sit proudly as the fastest growing and most awarded rum.
And what's really cool is there's no added sugars. It's
very special. We want people to think bigger when it
comes to rum, like, don't think of rum and just
strawberry dakeries and peanut coladas, Like rum can actually play
in flex. That girl like the rum is that one?

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Okay, I'm in coffee.

Speaker 6 (24:09):
They have the.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Coffee and expressed the Martini with our dark rum. You
can do the dark rum neat on the rocks, like
in the grony style. I make roma rita, you know,
versus I need to see this.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
They need to have you come by.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Now. Listen. I'm not the best, you know, drink maker,
but I can do this. I can follow instructions. Okay, okay,
make a drink.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
That's one thing about me. I can't make a drink. Yeah,
and I can't drink.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Are so silly, both of y'all be getting down.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
I was drug were drunk on our last year.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
I know y'all was definitely getting to drinks.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
I don't want her to know. So are you going
to go on tour for CC?

Speaker 2 (24:54):
You know CC always has tour plans. We're actually working
on it. I have a little time before we roll
it out, but I do have plans to go on
a global tour, like that's my ultimate goal is I
want to like travel the world. It's been a while.
Last time I was in London, the fans showed me
so much love. It was crazy, Like, I gotta like,
I gotta keep it going. I gotta go see London again.

(25:16):
I gotta go to Japan one day.

Speaker 7 (25:18):
Soon.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
I gotta go to Australia. I gotta do the US again.
Like there's a lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
To Atlanta's gonna be wow to be that one.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
It's gonna be turned. That's the hometown.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
How was it always working with Jazzy Fae because that
is always the best.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Jazzy is amazing and it was eighteen years almost since
we had worked together, and so it was just long
overdue and it was just like the old days, nothing like,
you know, complicated, nothing like like it was just perfect,
like just smooth. And then obviously the song keep produced
lottos on that record, so you know, it was a

(25:54):
lot of a town. Love.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Your daughter was like, am I gonna meet load?

Speaker 2 (25:56):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, that was so cute. It was so cute.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
Listen. You also sampled Uncle Luke on the album, which
I love.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
That's my uh let me see you, let me see you?
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I see what time you on?

Speaker 5 (26:12):
I like Winning, Oh yeah, I love Winning and b
r B.

Speaker 2 (26:15):
I feel like this is my jam. BRB kind of
has a little bit of those Jersey like vibes and thing.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
You know, it's that's a TikTok viral.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
No I think the TikTok song is gonna.

Speaker 3 (26:27):
Be That's what's happening.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Yeah, I love y'all.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
That'siktok.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
So you know what I want to say this, I
do feel like we need fun, happy music because you
know the variety of things.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Like obviously I interview artists all the time. I'm listening
to albums all the time.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
But sometimes it is just like this is like you're
in love, is fun and having a good time at
celebrating life. It's not going yeah, and we need that.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
No, I appreciate you. I think my greatest thing is
my mission is is just always want to spread joy.
That's always my goal, you know. I think sometimes you know,
it's all about how you deliver it joy through music.
I feel because sometimes people do like emotionally heavy songs
like those also serve a person we need, yeah, you know,
but I do like I like, I love energy, I

(27:18):
love happiness, I love fun, love you.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
I do you at carnivals let me tell you.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
Oh yes, I was out there jamming and it's so
funny because I had to you learn quickly that the
wind is different there is it? Yeah, because you dance, well,
it's really about that wind and the hips like you know,
and like there's a certain way. It's funny because I
was doing the path the passover, like where you walk
over the bridge or the stage, you will cross the stage.

(27:47):
That's what it is, crossing the stage. Gotta get my
stuff right. And then like I had this massive like
heavy you know what do you call like this costume
and like my feathers and all this stuff, and I'm
trying to catch my groove, but I'm not thinking of
it like that. Like I'm just kind of moving through
and they're like, CEC, girl, you better wind it, and

(28:07):
I'm like, got it.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
I was like be right back.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Then We're on top of the floats out top, and
I'm just like, hey, get into it.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
You know, they took you to the biggest one to
start with. There was no warm up in there.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
What is the way you do it?

Speaker 3 (28:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (28:24):
I was in Trinidad Trinity teas you know, and rump
things because we were doing like we were there really
for tend to one ron, you know, to really also
pump it and just to be in the culture and
experience and that was pretty cool. That's fine, it's fun.
I want to go back again. I had to. I
couldn't be there as long as I want to. But
I want to go back again and like spend a
little bit more time because.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Now that you're like warmed up and you know what
to expect.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
Yeah, now, and then you bring all your girls doing
and you just have fun.

Speaker 5 (28:53):
The three of us be in the carnival and we go.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
You went to the costume too.

Speaker 4 (28:59):
He didn't family time as the Saint Croix. Okay, yeah,
it was like me coming back home. So we actually
went out there. But we got to really listen to
what you're saying, because you got to get those moves together.

Speaker 7 (29:11):
But do you know what, I don't dance like, Yeah,
you got to start Yeah, I'm going to you got
to drop it, start working on was you know?

Speaker 3 (29:22):
I want to ask you this. You start off the
album with this song? Made it?

Speaker 6 (29:25):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (29:26):
When did you.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Realize you made it? Because I feel like a long
time ago you made it. But I'm just curious because
when we think about the definition of dad, I made it,
my mind made it.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
When is that, like, when did you finally say to
yourself I made it?

Speaker 2 (29:42):
I think when you don't have to worry about bills
a certain way.

Speaker 5 (29:46):
That's brilliant.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Okay, I didn't make it yet.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
I think that's definitely a moment. You know, it's like
all right, I said family, I said straight, now, family straight,
and we paid. Now, we don't pay the bills late
now bank safe? Is my playground been flames that I
came out? Oh god? Yeah, no, no, no, yeah. I
think not having to worry about like the bills might

(30:08):
be a good thing, you know, where you can also
like do for others, you know, like that's a gift. Yeah,
Like I gave my dad my range Rover like a
few weeks ago, Like is that I have like a
few or let's just say that. But but you know,
it's just I keep holding on to my cars, that's why,
because I love range Rovers and it's like I don't

(30:30):
want to let the cars go, you know.

Speaker 5 (30:35):
Card.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
But it was so sweet, you know, to see how
excited my dad was. I could have, you know, boughtom
something new, but I think it was more sentimental like
that it came from me, and I take really great
care of my cars, but that was just like the
simplest thing. But it was so cute, you know, like
I just thank God that I had an extra car
to give that saying.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
That's great, super But a few years later he was like,
I needed another new car.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Okay down because it all adds up.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
Yeah, it's just funny because the perception of you would be,
like I said, we grew up with Sierra, that you've
been not worried about bills, you know.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
I mean, yes, I've been blessed for Yeah, I've been
blessed for a great bit of my career. But I
think it's also to just like the evolution you know,
of your wisdom, you know, like that part matters. Like
when you're young, you just be doing all kinds of
stuff because you don't know any better. You don't really
understand how to manage everything. And I think there's something

(31:39):
really cool about the wisdom that I've gained over the
years and like, you know, where I am in my life. Like,
I think it's also to like my family to me
is a another symbolization of making it, you know, like
to have my family and my kids, our kids, and
to be doing life together and to be reaching new

(31:59):
heights together. Other that's a blessing.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
Yeah, you know, things like fame is one thing you
could be famous and not be I have to have
the freedom but then to have the fame, the freedom, and.

Speaker 3 (32:11):
The family right to have all of those things, it
has to be fulfilling.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Yeah, yeah, one. You know, your definition definition of success
changes over the right, Right, It's not so much about
all the tangible things. It's like the things that really
have true significance and impact on your life. It all
kind of comes down to those types of things.

Speaker 6 (32:34):
Right.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
So your health is important, you know, I think your
mental health is important, you know, like knowing who you are,
you know, like you can I was saying to someone earlier,
like they're just saying, what good is it again? In
the world, will lose your soul?

Speaker 6 (32:47):
You know.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
It's like you can have everything in the world and
still put empty on the inside if you can take
care of you. In fact, so for me, it's like
my focus or my understanding of like success is just shifted.
And to be honest with you, guys, I feel like
the more that I stop trying to make certain things happen,
they happen, right, Like the less weight and value you
put into things, like just do the work, do to

(33:10):
work like such your goals, place them there, look at
them every now and then to remind yourself. But just
do the work and you'll get there.

Speaker 4 (33:17):
Commit it to the ground.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
That's it. Commit to the grind, Like, do all the
work and one plus one will equal three.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
You feel freer now.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
I definitely feel like I'm in a very liberating space
in my life. I feel I don't know, I just
feel like life keeps getting better as a woman. Honestly,
you know, it's it's a really cool feeling, right to
feel like you get better with time because you just
know better now. Like you know, it's like when you're
young and your parents tell you know, you'd be like,
why's she saying no? Now you get it, Like why

(33:46):
they said no?

Speaker 3 (33:47):
Like they make it harder.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
Yeah, they do, say, tell somebody know me to try
harder that if there is a saying about that. But
you know, you don't know any better when you're younger
and you have a lot of good things going, you know,
but still like you still figuring it all out. And
I love the wisdom, Like if we just could, if
I could just keep using my wisdom, war I'll only
make better decisions, right, you know what I'm saying, Like

(34:10):
it's less.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Error sometimes you have to make those mistakes.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
The experience, I can.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Tell you something and.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Sometimes you got to go through it, you know, to
you got to go through it to get to it.
So yeah, so I'm I'm thankful for every step along
the way because it really is, you know, what makes me,
you know, who I am, who I'm proud of. I'm
proud of me, you know, and how far I've come.
I got a lot I'm trying to do. You know,
this is I still see is ground. Like I said,

(34:44):
I ground, like it's two thousands, like you know, I'm
doing everything independently, so that's like a different beast you know,
to do that. But my wisdom again, like is serving
a purpose for me right, you know, like being signed
to the labels before actually has helped me so much,
you know, because I can use it and apply it
to what I'm That knowledge, yeah you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
It's your apprenticeship to running your own Yeah, you know.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
So I'm grateful for those times too.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
Well.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
Congratulations again, CC. And you know one of my favorite
phrases is a title track on the album run It Up.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
And that's what we're gonna do. We're gonna run it.

Speaker 1 (35:24):
Up, run up the number, run up this town, run
up these tickets to the concert.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Yes, everything run out.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
And we're gonna help you out, ma know.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
So yeah, like I feel like, what's first array to
be here and then something happens after that. She might
get a call or the text later like hey we
saw would Simone Ashley?

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Maybe? Oh? Yeah, she's so sweet.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
With the.

Speaker 2 (35:53):
Thinking about I was like, well, hold on a minute,
I'm gonna do to her. Ready, okay, because it can
be playing with nobody works here. Okay, you don't play well,
you just said, Minnie.

Speaker 4 (36:06):
Look, I mean we're getting there.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
It's just working progress yet.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
From he's best friends with Jim Jones, I just thought
I played that, oh Jim.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Okay, Okay. Last time I saw Jim, he was really
sweet and had nice things.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
And he appreciated your advice.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Yeah, it was really nice. So so I I don't
have anything bad to say about you.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
You shouldn't. He was very appreciative.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
But you fellas better be lifting each other up and walking.
All right there, Gym.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
Put that car in front of the horse because I'm trying.
It's gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
You're not making no sense. We got to Yes, we
need to talk phrases the horse because we're not we're
not sounding right. Okay, we're not sounding right. If she's
listening right now, she stopped. Okay, she's like, I don't
hear it.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
Somebody probably like I could be the one.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
It is a few girls in my DM.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
You're trying to put that pressure on here.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Good luck, all right, Thank you so much, C C
