Speaker 1 (00:04):
Bring it. Bringing Up with Angela is on from industry
shades and all the gossip spilling at eat all right
up for Angela, yea God for you is here co hosting. Yo.
How are you? How are you? I'm having a good time. Okay, good,

(00:25):
It's gonna get even better. Well, let's talk about you
saying but now this is sad to me from a
Jamaican investment Companies Stocks and Securities Limited. I think he's
fired his account, his team and everything after something like
that happens. But here's what he had to say. I'm
just trying to focus on my family and trying not
to think too much about it because it's a stress situation.

(00:45):
I'm not built. But it was It's definitely put that
down from me, you know, sudden. It was from my future.
A buddy knows three kids that are looking out for
my parents, and I still want to live it very well.
I feel bad for that. It made me feel like
I better go check on every investment. And then he said,
you know, I'm not leaving Jamaica. I'm still trusting and

(01:06):
I'm like, I don't know about that Jamaican investment company.
In no disrespect, but you're if it's his own people.
But you know what, it happens here all the time.
To think about Bernie made off and how he scanned
those people. Just everybody didn't get up and leave. I

(01:27):
like that he's LOYALTI, but it's just everybody. It happens people.
When it comes to money, it's just imagine that though,
like your holes. That's why you do have to be
diverse about things you invest in. Like and like you said,
that's not everything for him, but thirteen millions a lot
million is like you know what I mean? Alright, I

(01:49):
hope you don't have to start running again. He'll be like,
oh no, both is back, oh man, alright now. Kyrie
Irving is leaving the Nets. He's been traded to the Marverage.
You know, he wanted to leave, and they said he
is report ecstatic and looking forward to going there, according
to TNT and Bleacher Report inside of Chris Haynes. So
that's cool. Sister lives in Dallas, you know what I mean,

(02:09):
she has something to look forward to. They're gonna have
a good squad though, with what's his name that Luca. Yeah,
he can't wait. And I like ye, he's such a
good player. I mean he he has his so now
but people now everybody's wondering what Kevin Durant is gonna
do next to that could be up in the air
as well, so we'll see. But you know, I'm a
Brooklyn Nets fan, so that always hurts my right, right,

(02:31):
Brooklyn Nets. You would have thought they would have been
They always used, yeah, we usually have a squad. They
usually have a good squad. On paper, You're like, okay,
and then I don't know, Yeah, I guess it happens
everywhere on every team. It's all rich Man problems. Now,
Jay Prince was a million dollars worth of game, and
he had some things to say about people checking in

(02:51):
while in Houston, and he also had some things to
say about Offset and take Off. Here's what he said.
This Off said, dude, you know, be throwing rocks and
high and right. I don't like them kind of individuals,
you know. And and the truth of the mouth is
you wasn't really right there with take Off when he
was alive, you know what I mean. So for you

(03:12):
to be taking these positions that you've taken, you know
what I mean. And I got people everywhere I saw
here all kinds of things I'm gonna just say this
to you. Don't never put me in a position. Well,
you know, I have to defend myself right, And people
are upset that a million dollars worth of game. Some
people feel like they shouldn't have done this interview or

(03:34):
put this clip out now. According to Gilly, he said
that they had to sit down. Jay Prince had to
sit down with p from Quality Control before they agreed
to have Jay Prince on because they said somebody lost
their life. It was a sensitive situation and so that's
why they made sure they did that sit down first.
Now the parents that Offset has responded to what Jay
Prince had to say, A million dollars worth the game.

(03:56):
And here's what Offset sent speak on me and tight
let's ship. You're trying to clear your faith this show
fifth interview. You don't did by my brother. You ain't
thinking about any mamma. You didn't think about the family
when you said nothing. Ain't nobody said nothing but you.
And if you heard something from me, I'm gonna tell
you it's it's gonna come from me. Call my phone.

(04:16):
Y'all going off and he says, she says, then y'allpold
to be this is who who y'all poled to be
and y'all interviews and it out on an interview about
I said, call my phone, hummer. I mean, that is
a sensitive topic. That is his family member, so behind
the scenes because j Prince said nothing changed with his
love for Quavo, but he was saying, but offset on

(04:38):
the other hand, and yes, his family member lost his life. Well,
I hope they can sit down and talk about it,
you know what I mean. I hope. I don't. I don't,
I don't. I just the whole beef stuff. I just
I just wish. I just hope they can just settle it,
you know, and talk man to man, get it settled,
because you know, the whole it gets dangerous and you
just are tired of people losing their life. And you

(05:00):
know what I mean. And I agree with what Office
said too, because you're talking about he said she said.
You didn't hear that from him directly, and so if
there's an issue, the best thing at time to do
is call somebody's correctly that I like that. I hope
they can settle that and talk it out. That's what
That's what I hope. So all right, Well that is
your yet for now. When we come back, we are
going to do about last night and now, last night

(05:22):
the Grammys were on and it was a big night
for the Grammys. Some record things happened with Viola Davis
with Beyond, with hip hop in general. I've on. I
told you, I was like, what's today? But it was
a good one last night. So we'll talk about that.
We'll have some of the highlights for anybody else who
might not have seen it. We'll tell you all about

(05:42):
it next up on about last night on Way Up
with angela Ye with my host, Hey, Hey, so about
last night lest alright, so it's way up for angel

(06:05):
lay gotfree. I was hitting you up last night like
you're watching the Grammy's right, Hey. Yeah. But it was
a big deal because Beyonce was up for nine Grammys
and they knew if she won three she would tie
for the most and if she won four, she would
break the record. And she broke the record. So that's
a huge deal. She broke the record for the most

(06:26):
wins in Grammy history. She posted we won three, y'all
to my high thank you all so much for all
your love and loyalty, but thank you for breaking to
break my Soul and cuffet wins to the Dream, Tricky
Hop and Big Freedo. I love you all said, I've
always been such a fan of yours. Thank you to
think now Rogers bad for a d um a lot
of people. So she's great, filled with joy. Yeah, I

(06:47):
mean she has I think thirty two but more than
that now three Well, I don't know. But anyway, she
had nine nominations and everybody thought she was gonna win
for Album of the Year. How come she always it's
you know, it's like he always gets passed up for that,
which is not fair. That's why the Beehive is mad.
And that's why I liked when Kanye went on stage

(07:07):
and snapped, yeah, it was legit, this stay. He should
have he should have been there with admitting on his head. Now, Beyonce,
I did have this to say as she won. I'm
trying not to be too emotional, and I'm trying to
just receive this night. I want to thank God they're
protecting me. I'd like to thank my uncle Johnny, who's

(07:31):
not here, but he's here in spirit. I'd like to
thank my parents, my father, my mother. I'd like to
thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are
at home watching. I'd like to thank the queer community
for your love and for inventing the genre. Yes, and listen,

(07:55):
Beyonce is such a I mean it's Beyonce. Think about
her having it already add different dates to her tour
because it sold out so fast. People are like doing
anything to get them beyond to be in the nose.
And that's because you can only probably get him on
the second hand market too, So you know they dearged.

(08:17):
But she did get there late. By the way, her
and jay Z, there was traffic. Can you imagine Beyonce
and jay Z? All right, now another big night. Viola
Davis has officially achieved EGOT status. And so here's what
you had to say. She won for finding me and
that's for the audio recording of her memoir. I wrote

(08:37):
this book to honor the six year old Viola, her life,
her joy, her trauma, everything, and it has just been
such a journey. I just e got Yeah, my first
roommate in New York City. That's right. We talked about
that West Side when I first got here from Chicago.

(08:58):
I lived with her when she was at Julie are
doing a play called seven guitars and I saw her
live interview at ninety two y and I met her,
saw our backstage, and she remembers she goes there, goes
my roommate, so proud of her, and she got a egot.
I just gotta get something. I got, I got, I
got something, got a chance to meet her again. I

(09:24):
got a chance to say congrat And her book is phenomenal.
I read it. It's fantastic, everything that she went through
to get to the where she is. Got man, listen,
sat to Viola David E. Got. Winners include Jennifer Hudson
or Hepper Whoopi Goldberg. You know, so it's not an
easy thing to get. That's the Emmy Gray Oscar and

(09:45):
Tony Oscar and yeah right, Basketball Award, Lombardi Trophy. Also,
Dr Dre got the inaugural Global Impact Award at the Grammys,
and here's what he had to say. Inspiration shoo. It's
one of my favorite words, and as a creative, it's
what I'm always in search of and I hope to

(10:06):
leave behind long after I'm gone. What I love about
this award is that it uses my name to inspire
the next generation of producers. Artists and entrepreneurs to reach
for their greatness and demand that from everybody around you,
and never compromise your vision at all, Pursue quality over quantity,

(10:26):
and remember that everything is important, right, yes, Dr James,
and listen. What I do want to talk about, and
I know you saw this part, is the fiftieth anniversary
of hip hop. Yes, that was an amazing performance. Years
half a century of hip hop and Carress one said
it best fifty fifty years down the line, we can

(10:47):
start this and will be the old school artist. And
the Carress once said in the eighties said they thought
it was gonna be a passing phase. And look at
hip hop all around the world, there's hip hop everywhere.
That might have been one of the best grand performances ever,
just to see all those different artists on the stage.
I mean, some Pepper came out, Missy Elliott, Missy Elliott

(11:07):
killed it, l Cool J Runding together. That's rare, that
all them but together. That was nice. That was that
was cool hip hop. So we'll talk about all of that.
But what I want to ask you and everybody who's
calling in eight what do you think was the best
time for hip hop it's been fifty years. You know.
We watched metha Man come out, and I think about
the Wootan era when I got started with everything, and

(11:29):
I want to ask y'all, what is the best time.
Glorrilla came out, Little Oozy came out, eight Way up
with Angela. Ye, Angela is way up. Yes, Scott for
you is guest hosting with me. It is Mayhem up
here on the first good though, this is good chaos
like that's a develin Cadena in the hallway. So they're

(11:50):
going to join us in a minute. We are talking
about the Grammys from last night and it's fifty anniversary
of hip hop. Can't believe it. I'm gonna tell you
who performed last night. Grand Master Flash all right um
with Barshaan, Meli, mel Ra, Human Scorpio, Grand Master Flash,
Run DMC, LLL Cool, j Jaddy, Jeff Pepper, Rock, Kim

(12:12):
Dart with ll Day, Last Soul, Scarface. You missed all this,
by the way, I see Queen Latifa, Method Man, Big Boy,
Buster Rhymes, and big Boy. Oh you know he rapped
a big boy from Big the guy from l A

(12:38):
shout out to Big Boy, Miss Missy Elliott killed it too,
uh Nellie and Cities but too short, Swiss Beasts and
the last little baby Glorrilla ll O cool J. And
of course you saidone little Oozy came out and did
his TikTok dands, So that was fun. But I was
asking you what is your favorite era of hip hop?
I would say because I mean, I mean nineties, but

(12:59):
I like the eighties two because I saw run D
M C. I saw I Love COOJ and Carcer, I
saw E P M D. So both of them combined.
The eighties and nineties for me was like, but all
of hip hop was eras were great because they all
led up to what we have now. You know. I
mean there's a lot of humming, a humming a humminger
now but coming because there's a lot of little babies,

(13:20):
little who's in little head, little feet, little but little
Godfrey out there somewhere. Yeah, but I thought it was great.
I thought the celebration was great. Fifty years of hip hop.
I like I said before, Carriss once said it, fifty
years down the line, we will start this because we
will be the old school artist. And he said it
that wow, fifty years down the line, you know what

(13:42):
I used to love when album used to come out
and people used to have to actually physically go to
a story that and it'd be a whole album, like
I remember when he Maddi came out, and I remember
first album, you know, and they need to get back
to posing hardcore in the alley like I remember. It
is it is easier for artists now to say I

(14:02):
can bypass labels and just put out, which is a
good thing directly. But we're gonna see what you guys think.
And Devil and Codeine are going to have them come
in here and talk about their favorite era hip hop.
I cannot wait to hear what they have to say.
And I love when women were running things too, and
they are again. I'm like, right now, that's always fun
to hype when Glorilla came out during the women need

(14:24):
to come out. Alright, alright, come on, Garfrey, it's way
up for Angela g And we are talking about the
best era of hip hop and we're only talking about
that because it's fifty years of hip hop this year
and on the Grammys they celebrated that. So we're asking you, guys,
what do you think the best error was? Eight one fifty.

(14:45):
Good morning, who's this? Good morning? From the what's your
favorite era hip hop? It's like the eight slast nineties
I ll Caroress the rock comp Okay, I'm not mad
at that said. You were excited last night? Did you
watch the Grammys? Yeah? Absolutely, I was happy to see

(15:08):
LL jug Jump was up there cutting it up. All right,
we thanks for calling it? Good morning? Who's this? Hi?
Good morning? Answer? This is Tanya. Hey Tanya, what's your
favorite era of hip hop? Hey? Um and good morning God.
I know you're there too. My favorite era of hip
hop would be the eighties and in my eties, because
I'm a little bit older, and just because it seemed

(15:31):
like we have fun. You know, it wasn't all about
we told the shore, but it seemed like, you know,
we had more fun. Even last night when the Grammys,
I've noticed when one rapper came out and used the
N word, the whole energy in the room changed. Did
you alice that at all? I don't know. Maybe it
was just that who was that? I can't It wasn't older.

(15:52):
It was even an old school rapper that was the
first one that came out and said it. But he
was towards the end, I can't think of wood was
so he was towards the N word. He had the
new rappers come out and poor little things. That's so
I came out with the dreads and all go front
and they had to beleef every other word that he
was saying because it was so rich with the N word.

(16:13):
The energy just went way down to me. I don't know,
I gonna watching again and see, but my favorite era,
like yeah, for the first place before I start to
run in my mouth is the eat in nineties. All right, Well,
I want to ask Cadina Devout just walked in. We
just grabbed you guys in the hallway. But do you
know I love you guys. I was excited to say,
you see your congratulations girl, you see in action? I

(16:37):
love it. And I want to ask y'all, just based
off of the Grammy's conversation, what is your favorite era
of hip hop? All right, I'll go first in and
I'm singing to slap, so let me go first. So
for me, I want to say, it's late nineties, early
two thousand's right, So I went to the small back
to school and back in the day in the eighties,
for example, because I was then eighties dish baby. My
parents used to just listen to straight like Reagane Calypso

(16:58):
music because they're from the Islands, right. So when I
went to the small back to school, I was around
more like you know, black people. It was literally in
East New York, right, so they were passing around the
little Kim c D right hard core, right. So I
remember listening on my little like you know, disc man
and then like writing down the lyrics, you know, and

(17:19):
playing it over and over again because there was no
a D right now, remember so little Kim Salt and
Pepple like all of the women like they were popping late,
that was for sure. And that's when we used to
read the line of notes inside to see like exactly
and if they had the lyrics inside the cover for rap,

(17:42):
you know, I had to do that on the load
because my mom was not trying to buy me if
it's said parental advisory, explicit lyrics, she was not with it.
The first CD to have explicit lyrics stamp right that.
But you're right, yeah, you're right, all right, what about you?
I know a lot of people gonna be Max. I
grew up in Brooklyn and they expect me to say
the nineties, you know, because of Biggie and Tupac. But

(18:03):
I'm gonna have to go two thousands. I'm gonna tell
you why. Listen, the Blood album came out. Hove is
the greatest rap of all time. And do you remember
the run that Hove had in the two thousands, even
the battle we had with Nas check this out? Though
I love them? Okay, but what song are you comparing?

(18:23):
Are you comparing Ether the Takeover? Eating Baby? What I'm
saying either the super greatest come on you from Queens?
Come on? How about that? You don't come last night?
But thinking about it, t I T lit Wayne Drake

(18:45):
started in the two thousands, Drake because when we're talking
about the greatest right now, people always says a little
different than later. To absolutely early two thousands, lean with it.
You know, it was still all right. It was still
tight like the golden era hip though like the late nineties, right,
isn't that? When? Of course nine? Because if going into

(19:05):
two thousand you had busted rhymes, and in bust rhymes
was killing dmx MX, come bust the leaders in a
New school Man. That's truely that us early, that's true no, no,
I'll give you that. I'll give you that was born
in seventy three. Started with Yeah. Rives performance last night though,

(19:28):
I mean how he does. We watched him live at
Dreamond Green's birthday party and it was it was about
seventy five people there. He took the mic acapella. He
said every single word unreal, unreal, It's just a gift.
It's a gift. Man, man. He his muscle many crazy
with that. Now, Yah, you know who was no joke

(19:49):
last night, Missy Elliott. A joke will come when his
Missy ellis Yeah. I mean she came out and she
killed it. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She doesn't
the first woman rapper to be nominated for the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame. That doesn't supplause me. Yeah,
so shout out Tom. I can't believe that it hasn't
happened prior to that. Queen Lativa. Come on, let's not

(20:10):
have like queen one of the goats. Now he's one
of the goats. To her hold her whole contribution to
the coach the ladies first, the ladies first, man like schooling,
women been doing it, women been doing it. And the
fact that mc like every year, voices the Grammys. Finally like, okays,

(20:34):
the bag is secured. Yes, well, thank you for joining us.
I know it was like spontaneous, but I want to
down for the moment. Of course, got your book were
but yes, We Over Me Baby? Get your copy of
We Over Me, We Over Me seven, because there's cameras
around here. Don't play here. Get we open? Got dot

(20:57):
story and how much time we got one minute of
real quick? You know who's your biggest fan? Jackson? Every morning?
We used to take him to school and he when
we first met angin person, he heard and talk. He said,
I know that voice. That's he's going to be Jackson.
All right when we come back, we have yet, but
we also got a tease. Tell us a secret. That's

(21:18):
when you get to call in. You don't have to
say your name, but you get to tell us a secret.
And this is something that I love God for you
gonna tell us a secret. Everyone's gonna do with y'all
got secrets from me telling in the book? Tell us
a second from the listen secret something we never spoke
about before. An unplanned pregnancy that happened in college and

(21:42):
how that turned out. Okay, all right, Well, we can't
wait to read We over Me and for you guys
tell us a secret fifty. But when we come back,
we are going to be doing yet. And let's talk
some more about the Grammys. We gotta talk about Quavo
and his tribute to take Off on way up at
Angela than truth in the room, from industry shade to

(22:03):
all the gossip. I'll send it angel alright, it's way
up a Angela, yea God for you is here with
me seeing the et I know you let a gussip
with me. Yeah, I'm not one there. But we are
still talking about the Grammys because so much happened last night.
Quavo did an amazing tribute for Takeoff and held up

(22:26):
Takeoffs Chain during that tribute. I thought that was really nice.
I'm Lizzo one for Record of the Year and performed also,
And here's what Lizzo had to say about just all
of her accomplishments. I want to dedicate this award to Prince.
When we lost Prince, I decided to dedicate my life
to making positive music. And this is at a time

(22:48):
when positive music and feel good music wasn't mainstream at
that point, and I felt very misunderstood. But I stayed
true to myself because I wanted to the world a
better place. So I had to be that change to
make the world a better place. That's beautiful. And she
also shouted out Beyonce because you know, it's a big

(23:10):
night for Beyonce as the most wins in Grammy history
out of anybody. Okay, so here's what Lizzle had to
say to Beyonce. Beyonce in the fifth grade, I'll skipped
school day in the fifth grade, I'll skipped school to
see you perform. Yeah, there you have it, so that happens.

(23:32):
You have skip school to see somebody perform. My father
was an educator, so you had to go to school
all the time. To skip school all the time for
no reason. So at least she went and did something productive. Yes,
I remember after school, I got to see Michael Jackson.
So that was dope, all right. Now. Chris Brown also
was in social media, and he was upset after he

(23:54):
lost the Best R and B album, Uh, and he
lost that to Robert Glasberg. Now I really do not
understand why he would do such a thing, but he
went on social media and he said, you're playing who
the F is this Alas, I thought that was Lasper
is a friend of mine. He's fantastic. He's very, very talented.
He's produced a lot of records. He's a talented musician, producer, writer.

(24:18):
You know, we hang out in downtown New York City.
Blue Note. That's my man. Robert congratulations, it's nice. And
I come on, Chris, you gotta we gotta compliment each other, man,
you gotta support each other. Come on. It's like, you know, yeah,
that was not cool. Especially you know, if he was
even even to get nominated for a Grammy means you're
at a certain level. Yeah, and that means you could

(24:40):
potentially win. Anybody who gets nominated could potentially deserve to win.
And we also people upset that Beyonte didn't win any
of the three big awards, but he still is the
most decorated artists in Grammy history. You know, So you
can be upset that your favorite artist didn't win, but
I think as an artist, you also have to be gracious. Yeah.
I think it's like it maybe pound for pound, it

(25:01):
was just you know, maybe they judged on who's voting
and who. Yeah, but Robert class for Yeah, that's what
I'm talking to. I want to see It was said,
congratulations and Chris Brown is so talented, so great, he
shouldn't do that. So yeah, I mean that. I don't know.
We'll see what happens after that. Maybe they'll have a conversation.
But you know, Robert Glasser personally, yes, I do. He

(25:23):
comes to see our my comedy shows a few times.
You know, I've seen him with toler quality and he
just performs. See him at the Blue Note Live and
he's just a great guy and a fantastic talent. So
congratulations and come on, and I actually do want to
see Chris Brown play harmonica. That was be doping, pop
locking and harmonica. That would be awesome. Now, I'll tell
you what wasn't a surprise at all, Kendrick Lamar winning

(25:45):
for Best Rap Song of the Year. And here is
what Kenda had to say when he got up to
get his award. Now, first and foremost, I want to
thank my family for giving me the courage, you know,
and the vulnerability to share the story used to share
my truth with this album. I want to thank my
fans for trust me with these words. You know, you
know it's you know, as artists, you know, we all

(26:07):
entertainment stupid, and we say things to provoke thoughts and
feelings and emotions. So making this record, it's one of
my toughest rappers to make, and then allowed me to
do that and allowing me to share other people experiences,
you know. So going back and thinking back where I
started with a rap and not far as came, I
would like to thank the culture for allowing me to
evolve in order to make a song like Mother, I'm

(26:30):
sober right, He's good, he's awesome, He's I like him.
He's one of the true messengers of our time, which
I love, so I look forward to him, Jake Cole
and even Joey Badass. Yeah, yeah, and I love that.
I like guys that are actually still in women that
are actually saying something. That's what I like. I like

(26:51):
some messages. There's a balance, you got. You can talk
about silly stuff whatever, but I like when they're when
he's always he's always saying something, making a point, saying message,
talking about what's going on, and music should parallel what
is going on. And well, Dave Chappelle one for um
for his for The Closer for his best comedy album,
So shout out to Dave Chappelle. So even though there

(27:14):
was all kinds of controversy when you put that out,
look at that. You want a Grammy. They want a Grammy.
Shout out to the girl. Ricky Hughes also, but he
wasn't there, so I'm rich alright. Well, next up, we
got to tell us a secret. That's when you get
to call in. There's no judgment, godfree, So don't judge
anybody when they tell us. Just share with us something.

(27:37):
No one news the news, news, the news that relates
to you. These stories are flying under the radar way
up at Angela. Ye, it's time for under the radar
with God free. Yes, and these are stories that you
may not hear about in the headlines, but we should
know about now you. Yale University has honored Bobby Wilson.

(27:57):
She's a nine year old black girl and one of
the neighbors reported her to the police while she was
catching insects in her neighborhood. That's all for her own
science experiment, her own science project that she was doing.
Here's that nine one one call the Real Black Woman
record and splaying stuff on the sidewalks and trees. I
don't know what the hell she's Wow, that's a that's

(28:18):
a year old black girl. Now the neighbor is a
former town council member, Gordon lash and he's the one
that called the dispatcher. So now Yale University is honoring
young Bobby Wilson, and they actually posted. In November, nine
year old Bobby Wilson was the subject of an alleged

(28:39):
racial profiling incident in her hometown of Caldwell, New Jersey,
while she was working to eradicate the invasive spotted Latin
fly from her neighborhood. On Friday, January, the ceremony was
Hail was held by Yale to recognize Bobby's donation of
her personal latin fly collection to the Peabody. Those specimens,
the first of their kind in our Entomology division, will
be for ever associated with her name as a donor scientist.

(29:02):
So we can't take catch bugs black people. We can't
catch bugs. We can live with bugs, but we can't
catch any Okay. And I just hated the way that
nine one was. He's like, I just want to tell
you there's a little black woman down there. I don't
know if she's like a small person or whatever, but
I'm afraid she's a fourth grader. How sick are you? Sick? Man?

(29:24):
If you have a problem, And you can see she's
like outside catching insects. So she was spraying every lantern
fly that she could find and put him in a
plastic bottom. And she actually went to TikTok she got
a homemade recipe from bug repellent, which was soap, dishwater
and apple cider vinegar, and so she was doing that
to curb the insect. He's just racist, guys. Okay, let's

(29:44):
just keep you moving. Black History Month. Racist. I can't
believe it. I'm so tired that a black girl trying
to catch some bugs and can't get any dignity. But
if it was a white girl catching bugs, they would
have said, oh yeah, catch all the book do you want.
I'm sorry, that's what happens. I talked like that in February.
That's how I talked. I talked like a civil rights leader.

(30:05):
So we have to find a way for black children
to be able to catch lightning bugs, dragon flies, and
I love it. It is Black History Month. Black History month,
at least February. Let us catch bucks. Let us lord
with angela godfree school, all right? It is way up

(30:27):
with Angela. Yeek, God for you is here with me.
I'm having fund with you this morning. Get good, good,
I'm flat. I'm glad. I didn't want to mess up
your show. All right now? Jay Z has closed a
multi billion dollar deal with Pacardi. If you guys know
this is overdue, say and there was a battle going
on as far as what the brand was worth and

(30:47):
how much he would sell it for and whatever. But
but Cardi is gonna get a majority interest, but jay Z,
I think, still has some type of percentage, so they
have a majority stake, but jay Z will still have
I want some of that money. It's crazy. It's crazy
that this still is a really big one. So I'm

(31:09):
not sure. And that's all be based on valuation, and
you know, you figure out what a company is worth.
And so yes, I want to come out with a liquor. Listen,
do you drink? But I don't trust it. It'll be
a liquor that I don't drink. Y'all enjoy all right now.
Master P was on the Montgomery and Co. Podcast and
one of the things that he was talking about was

(31:30):
paying fronting the money for fifty cents first tour here
here's what he had to say. Nobody else believed in him.
I've seen a vision like this guy is a whole worker.
He has a lot of talent. So I'm gonna put
my money up to put him on tour. And then
I don't know what happened back at the time, but
something just happened to where I'm like, I paid him
for all the shows, and so I didn't know that
he was gonna blow up and sell too million records,

(31:53):
which nobody knew that. It was. Like, I just thought
it was a great product. I invested in it, and
then something happened to where we had to come back
and do it, and then this dates wasn't available. So
by the time he was able to do it, we
worked out and that's why we're able to be friends
the day. I think that's awesome. I love that. Yeah,
he's a mess piece. Cool peoples that met him, and
that was a good Um. That was a good investment. Yeah,

(32:15):
great investment. Wow, I mean that was great investment. He
knew well and has always been about UM empowering people
other black people, African Americans. He's always been about that.
Shop respect him, big talk, and I really enjoy the
reps next chips. By the way, Yeah, the sodium is
a little high, sixteen thousand milliground. Okay, let me just

(32:37):
take one hip. I don't need the whole bag. My
heart's paltake, but it's snacks they are bagging. But all right, now,
let's talk about Watch what Happens a Live. I don't
know if you watch Real Housewives the Potomac God for you,
I'm gonna give you a little bit of a rundown though.
So Robin Dixon was on the show, and it is

(32:59):
a reality eah oow. They want you to talk about
things happening in your life for real. And there was
some allegations that her now husband cheated on her. There
was a woman saying that she had an affair with him,
and she did not reveal that on the show, but
she talked about it on her podcast, and so she
was out watch what Happens lat but Andy Cohen and
he asked her why she was silent while filming, because

(33:20):
they're supposed to share things like that. How do you
stay silent through the season Because it was so we
already it was so in the back of my mind,
like we dealt with it. We moved on from it.
It's like, I don't know why I would say, hey, guys,
pick me, let's talk about let's you're The expectation is
that you're sharing everything that's going on in your life. Right.

(33:41):
That's why it's not about pick me wait to be picked.
It's hey, we went through something and this is what's
happening in our lives. But it wasn't an issue at
that moment while we were filming. If it was an issue,
we were filming an issue in your relationship. Now, let
me tell you, tell me what you think God for you.
So the issue is this, and she believes one but

(34:02):
allegedly the woman is saying that he cheated and there's
a receipt where he paid for her room. Now, according
to Robin, she was told that the woman lost her
while in the casino, couldn't pay for her hotel room one.
Her husband felt bad for her because she was distraught
and couldn't figure out how she was gonna pay for
her room. So he went to the hotel, put his

(34:23):
card down at the counter, and that's it. Whoa, whoa day.
I think that's exciting. I'm not gonna lie all that
Reality housewives. That's what you're supposed to do. You're supposed
to do that, cheat and have controversy. That's what makes
it exciting. If everybody were loyal and fine, those shows

(34:43):
would be boring. That's right though, because then she didn't
talk about it on the show, but then she went
on her podcast and then was like, you want to
learn more, get on my Patreon behind the paywall. Hear
about it all right. Now, here's a rumor. According to
multiple outlets, quay Vow and Offset got into an altercation
and that was at the Grammys. So allegedly, when Quavo

(35:08):
was performing the song without You as a tribute to
take Off, he and Offset got into a physical fight
and had to be pulled apart because I guess Quevo
blocked Offset from being part of that tribute. Oh wow,
it's like, I think it's just family and they are
for real family notamm A lot of times your family,
you fight harder with your family, you know, especially with

(35:31):
when you have a death in the family, stuff like that,
because I know what happened to me when I had
you know, stuff like that happened in our people were
we were fighting like hard, and then it was funny
because the people that the funeral directors of people who
deal with all that. They say happens all the time
when there's a death, there's a lot of fighting. Yeah,
it's emotional stuff. So hopefully they worked that out all right,
And we'll talk about this later. But I also want

(35:52):
to make sure I bring this up. D m X
is ten year old daughter is doing a go fund me.
I'm gonna tell you why. But it's also Black for
My Month, and God for you had somebody that you
want to honor when we come back. Um, So just
to give y'all a little bit of a preview of
what it's going to be about a black woman who
was in a position that nobody has been in since

(36:13):
this place was founded back in sixty a long time.
A right way up for Angela. Ye, Black History Month
and moment with our guy, God for you when we
come back. Yes, I was over here token because I
was trying to eat and God if you made a
joke and it made me laugh. Sorry, just kind of
piece of a through just to okay, I feel better now.

(36:40):
I was like, I need tequila, but it is Black
History Month and God for you were so excited about
this and I have this you had a story that
you wanted to tell. And this has to do with
Harvard University. So let us know. Yes, the oldest institution
of higher education in the United States verbatim. I like
this Thursday, Clauding Gay has been selected as their president. Okay.

(37:03):
Gay will be the first black person to serve in
Harvard's top leadership role since its founding in sixteen thirty six.
Shame on you, Harvard. Sixteen thirty six. Boy, was that
a good year for us? How long ago is that?
How many hundreds of years ago? Sixteen thirties? We're inee

(37:24):
my sixteen See we're making improvements. Wow, it's crazy. Everybody's
been white and all of them, yeah except one. That's
how much they don't like make any progress. With the
exception of Drew Fast who led the Universe University from
twenty oh seven to eighteen, all of them have been men,

(37:47):
white men. So congratulations to Claudine Gay. That's really big
time for IVY League. She's not the first IVY League
black president, but for Harvard, you know, which was founded
by John Holler heard and was built by slaves law.
A lot of these universities were obviously built by slave
slave labor. You know what I mean. That's all. That's
and the fact that we can name all the black

(38:08):
women who have been presidents day like, she's not the
first in an ivy league. Ruth Simmons black women served
as Brown University's president. Yes, and before that she was
president of Smith College. Yes. And then there's Laurie Patton
Davis um. Oh, she's a professor at that at Ohio
State University and the nation's top expert on black women
in higher education. So she says that she sees Claudie

(38:30):
and Gay as a possibility model who will inspire other
black women to pursue leadership roles at colleges and universe's
let's do better. Uh, white majority, let's do better. I
love you, but boy, come on, make some real improvement.
I'd like to say another thing in black history, for
another accomplishment black women, I want to give a shout
out to Dr Gladys West, who created the GPS, black

(38:52):
woman scientists who created GPS. GPS. Dr Gladys West. I
think she's like eighty nine now, but she Dr Gladys West,
GPS black woman. Of course, the black woman would invent
the GPS because where you at you lying reroute set away.
You guys also don't like to ask for directions, so

(39:12):
you lying, we have to let you know, make that left.
I see you. But that's shout out to Dr Gladys
West who invented the GPS. Your GPS, Dr Gladys West,
and I'll give you some more Black history heroes as
we you know what it makes me think about. GPS
was so important. I remember my first time driving from

(39:36):
where I went to college, Wesley University, and we drove
to Syracuse University and we have to actually get a
physical map, remember maps. Or there was an old man
they said, well, looks like you took the wrong road
and that to make a loopy loop and go straight
down the fifth nine and then just connect to the
whole whole hand hold hand, thank you, and hurry up

(39:56):
before sundown because you're colored. Actually happened. They were the
truck driver at the rest stop when we were buying
the map, and he gave us the directions and we
had to write it down. And before that I used
to go on the computer, I mean after that and
look up the directions and then have to like print
it out. Yeah, yeah, you actually did a map. It
was like you had to follow the little lines. And
and you know now it's not like an old American

(40:19):
in the gas station. It's like foreigners now. And they
don't want to help you. They just go. I said,
excuse me, but we're how do we get to I
don't know. I got here Tuesday. I don't know. Just
go straight, I don't I don't just bike us and go.
I'm not even lying. It's all foreigners now. I don't know.
I don't I know it from here. You just go straight. Yeah,

(40:41):
I figured it out. Just drive And you know who
else I want to talk about? And I think this
is an important story too. So I told you about
DMX and his ten year old daughter. She's launching a
go fund me and that is for her documentary that
she's doing on drug addiction. Yes, and so I want
to bring some light to this because I think it
would be great if people could help support it. She's

(41:01):
only ten years old. Her name is son About Hillman Jr.
Here's what she had to say. I lost my aunt
uncle to a fetinal overdose and my dad to a
drug addiction. But and I was affecting every gender, race, class,
and age group. I started watching old interviews of my
dad talking about his drug addiction. I wanted to talk
to other kids whose parents have died from an overdose

(41:22):
or are still currently using. I came up with the
idea to do a four part docuseries on fetinal and
drunk addiction. I'm ready to have the conversation, because some
adults aren't even ready to have. That's why we gotta
listen to what kids have to say. I always say
that to pay attention to that. And she wants to
show this from a child's perspective, and so she has

(41:43):
a goal of two d and fifty dollars. I hope
she does. So we just wanted to bring some attention
and make sure that people go ahead. And we just
don't know what's her name? Her name is son only
hold on, let me make sure we I'm a spell
it for your just in case I'm not saying. Her
name is uh Sonova s O N O V A. H. Hillman,

(42:05):
Hillman Jr. Hillman Junior. For a woman. Make that that's cool.
That but let's raise that money for her. Get her
that money today. Yeah, let's get her quarter of a
million to date. And he said, you got the idea?
After the remember Dare the drug abuse resistance education, So
the program hosted a tenmi curriculum at her school and

(42:25):
at one point she saw a clip from Growing Up
Hip Hop where Massapian Romeo are confronting um Tatiana Miller
about her drug abuse and eventually, you know, she did
also die from that disease. So she wants to be
able to make very well known actor comedian personality. And
I want to talk about you on this Cosby documentary

(42:45):
because you said Bill Cosby is about to be doing
some stand up. He's going to do a tour. I mean,
I'm like, what he's Yeah, he's and you've worked with him.
So I want to talk about the documentary you were
in and your thoughts about this tour when we come
back on Way Up at Angela Ye, Way Up where
Angela Yes and God for Your's hair guest co host.

(43:12):
Are you enjoying yourself? I'm having a great time. You're
like a living legend, Angela. That's real talk, and it's
the truth. You are. You're like a living legend in
this game, in the culture. You're dope and for me
to actually be doing your first show is an honor.
It's history for me. It's black history history right now, girl,

(43:35):
It's great. God is a legend. Also, and what a
lot of people have been talking about is your connection
to Bill. Yes, you were actually in the documentary we
need to talk about Cosby that w come out about
did and if people don't know your history, let's talk
about for a second, just fill us in on you
Bill Cosby in the relationship. When I came from Chicago,

(43:57):
one of my first jobs when I was William Morris
was too. I was an audience coordinator for the CBS
show Cosby. Um that was my first you know, as
a a comedian with no money or whatever, you come
in and you go, hey, now I'm audience coordinator for
Bill Cosby. You know it's basically you're like, you're entertaining
the audience. Uh, You're You're you're talking, You're telling people

(44:17):
about the set. You introduced Dr Cosby, Felici, Rashad mad
Line Khan and all these other people. Not the original
Cosby show, the second one for some guess. So I
was doing that and yeah, man, I was around him,
and it's like as a comedian to be around one
of the greatest comedians ever. It was like a privilege
to watch him work and he's literally a genius. And uh,

(44:39):
this whole I had to do the documentary because Kamal
Bell called me and said, hey, I know you worked
for Cosby. I'm going all in. I said, okay. And
I thought I brought balance to the to the conversation.
I thought I bought balance to the documentary. Um, I
told truth, you know, And uh, yeah, I didn't truths
about like I never saw him do anything crazy when
I was there, when I was wor in there, I

(45:00):
didn't see anything crazy. Um uh. And if in all
these allegations, who knows, it's out some some people could
be telling the truth. Some people give be lying because
people do that to people, especially people in the spotlight.
And then you got to understand the different eras back
in the day, the drug eras in the sixties. You're

(45:22):
talking about. The sixties was free love, free drugs, free everything.
And I'm not sitting there there saying, yeah, this is
you know, he didn't do anything wrong when I'm saying,
who knows what happened back in those days? And I wasn't.
He's contributed so much too, and in black history, if

(45:43):
you can consider it black history, He's the first guy
to be on national TV at I Spy with Robert
Coulp in the sixties. Then he had his own Cosby
show before the Cosby Showing the eighties. He had a
one before that in the seventies where he played a
gym teacher. All right. Then he was the first to
have big to push the culture in a positive way.
And and it made and and Bill Cosby made made

(46:05):
NBC number one over me trying to buy them? Is
that why they you know what I'm kidding, You don't
say that. And now he's going on tour. He did.
I have a lot to say about that when we
come back, and we are going to talk about because
the reason we even started talking about this is because
he is going on tour, and I want to know
if you're going to go to those shows. When we

(46:26):
come back. Godfree is going to be talking Angela. He
is back to set off a way with Angela Yee.
Got Free? You know, but Angela Ye and God Free,
Angela Yee and got Free? What I mean now got Free?
We're getting into it because we're talking about Bill Cosby

(46:47):
because you used to work with him, and you're also
on the documentary what it's called. We have to talk
about consom. We just talk about Cosby and I'm in
it all the way through, all the way, all the
way through. And some people were like, oh, he's a
sellout for that, and they don't even know the basis
at which and we did it in by the way
it was released, but it was done in about a

(47:08):
week before pandemic hit Brooklyn. I should there for so
it's not a sellout. What do you mean I'm gonna sellout?
I worked with the guy, right. People just like to
say anybody should talk about it would be something somebody
that actually him myself. I wasn't trying to throw him
under the bus. I was actually there to add some
balance to it. And he's going to constant. He's going
on tour and I'm sorry, I have to go. As

(47:30):
a comedian, I want to see what his first joke's
gonna be. I'm free. Do you think he should in
his stand up address because he asked to be like this,
hey man, talk about talk about the case. I'm going
to talk about the case, and I want to say
that they're relying. You know, I don't know what he's

(47:51):
gonna say, but I'm interested it's because even what happened
with Louis c k first when he came back to
the clubs, he said, uh, I guess you guys heard
what happened to me right place went crazy and he
addressed it. Chris Rock is addressed in the slap. I
heard there's gonna be a little different with crimes involved potential.

(48:11):
I mean it's a little different, but it's but it's
still you're gonna have to talk about it because comedy
it comes with pain. Prior did it? Everybody, it's it's pain.
There's pain in comedy. That's what people do. Understand. There's
a lot of stuff you go through and you bring
it out. Carlin did it, Joan Rivers has done it,
all of them, all the greats have done it. So
I want to see and Cosby be in this clean

(48:35):
fatherly now he has to really, I don't know, you
think out yes, I do. They're either gonna be nobody's
gonna be there, or it's gonna be packed because they're
gonna go. I have to see this. I gotta see
what's gonna Is he gonna be some genius stuff or
is he gonna be like what am I watching? I
have to see it. It's like seeing Trump in concert.
You know, people just go, I gotta see what Trump

(48:57):
is gonna say. This is a very good show. I'm
You're in concert all by myself because I'm the greatest
president see. And and I know we were talking about okay, um,
you know the accuses, and I think about Beverly Johnson
and the story that she told, oh yeah, right where
she said she went over there to get some guidance
from him. He kept trying to give her some something
from the cappuccino machine, and then she said she knew

(49:19):
she was drugged, and she basically managed to get out
and crawl out of there pretty much. And he's actually
sued her for for defamation. And she's saying, well, that's
what I expect from somebody who has done the thing. Well,
you know, it's hard to say. You know, I know
people who have been falsely accused of stuff. So but
it could be true too, So it's hard. It's hard.
I wasn't there, so you know, I wasn't doing that

(49:42):
thing to dog him. I was just trying to be
honest and add some levity to the whole thing. And
by the way, this all came from a joke, you know,
because this is something that has been I guess well
known in the industry, so that there's also that It's
not like already women just came out of nowhere. This
is something that was like and I did thirty Rock, right.

(50:04):
I did a little guest appearance on thirty Rock and
in the episode was Tracy Morgan. I had to play
Bill Cosby for Alec Baldwin. I had to talk over
the speaker phone and Tracy Moray. I go, Yo, this
is Bill Cosby. I want you to come back on
the show, Tracy, and he goes, no, Bill Cobby, remember
you when you used to mess with my aunt. I
don't like you. I won't trust you. It was weird

(50:24):
that that I did that episode Cosby being accused of
it was weird. It was very Yeah, let me ask
you this, Would you post a picture with Bill Cosby
if you go to the show and you got probably
would I'll be like this, Yo, wanted a picture with me?
I speaking of touring, you guys, can you guys can
see me at the if you guys are in Dallas.

(50:45):
I'm sure this is playing in Dallas at the Addison Improv.
It's February seventeen through the nineteen and Kentucky. Yes, so
you're be in Dallas. That means Kyrie Irvin can come
see Kybe Kyrie come and see me and March second
through the fourth on a comedy on Broadway, Lexington, Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky.

(51:06):
So Addison, Dallas, come on seventeen through the nineteen. We
need you. We need to talk about God. For you
here to talk about God, you have nothing on me
and anybody that accuse me of somelff. You lie in
straight line. The thing about you is you don't drink.
I don't drink, I don't smoke. I take I do
like supplements. I go to the gym. I did seven

(51:27):
years of yoga, ten years of martial arts. I'm into
all that health stuff. But you do eat meat. Yeah,
meat is good. Oxtail. What do you mean, oxtail? Baby? Oxtail?
We went out to eat at the grille one time. Oxtail.
You've never seen somebody eat so many different things you
go oxtail. Oh no, that's a bull's nose again. I dotarian,

(51:57):
vegetarian and vegans. I don't still know about you all.
And you're bean sandwich that I gotta beat. I gotta
bean burger. Did you you smell like fart? It's interesting
that you do all your You have a healer, you
go to yoga, You eat meat, anything meat, If you
eat organic meat, meat is actually good for you. What

(52:18):
are you talking about? No, not really, I don't really okay,
unless unless unless I'm at somebody's house and they got
to I don't know if there's organic park pigs or pigs,
but there's organic chickens because you know, sometimes you gotta
get those chickens that you know, read and speak Spanish,
and you know, handy its defend defend anything. Okay, I

(52:42):
like the handy. But yes, so the whole point of this,
I don't know how we got here, but we were
talking about you're talking to me, you know when I
don't know when he's doing his tour, but I'm interested
as a comedian to see what he is going to
talk about. I just don't know. I just I just

(53:03):
know it's he's going to have to address it. We
will be like, come on, now, come on, the elephant
in the room, the elephants in the room. Man, I'm free,
oh man, all right, well listen, God for us here
and we are about to do ask ye and so
both Godfrey and I will be giving you guys advice.
I have any questions about anything that I'm nervous soon,

(53:28):
I is a number call us up if you have
any questions that you want advice for me and Godfrey
on Way Up with Angela Ye back Angela, y all right,
I got god for here. Jack co hosted with me
for the next couple of days and one of Way

(53:50):
Up with Angela Yean. Now, I know that you don't
watch any of these shows that I watched The Real
Housewives and Potomac the housewatch things I did. I did
the Atlanta Housewives for a while just to check it
out with Fedra and Nenily. I watched it next music
and then I was like, all right enough. I was

(54:11):
just tired of just I started black women fighting all
the time and calling each other the B word, throwing
wine on each other. You know, I was tired of that.
I was, you know, I was contributing to that that
that image of black women, which I think is pretty pathetic.
I think that's just personally my personal opinion. I think
those shows should stop personally because it just doesn't because

(54:31):
black women are like, there's so much more positive stuff
about black women. They don't get enough already. It's either
someone's twerking or fighting or calling each other the B word.
That's not enough positive. I'm being serious, and black women
being the leading and education and all that. You don't
get examples of that unless they're showing maybe Michelle Obamas
sometimes maybe Oprah Winfrey. Those shows to me tarnished. Look

(54:54):
at somebody like a Candy Burrus who's working a lot
of money and all he's doing, and then but they
were part of all of that, and and and Candy
is so talented and smart and all that, but they
had them argue, you know, they had them doing all
that crazy stuff. And you know with us, with black folks,
they can't wait to show negative images of us, and

(55:14):
so they always gotta mix it. Listen, Well, you know
they could have all been scientists, all of them could
have been like math geniuses, but we wouldn't really know
that because all half the time they were fighting and
arguing and stuff like that. That's all I'm saying is
just image. Why images all? Yeah, I guess it's what
they choose. You're saying, is to show on TV because
reality shows need action. You have to like make people
do things too in order to watch it. You need drama.

(55:36):
I get that, but well, I wanted to talk about
it because of Katie, who was on season one of
Real Housewives at Potomac Girls. No, they're actually mostly black
women on their Yeah, they're all black women on Potomac Yeah, yeah,
I do well. Katie was on the first season, but
now she posted herself. She has a nine to five
regular minimum Waves job. She posted Jesus Christ, I started

(55:57):
working like a real job. I just got off an
eight hour shift working minimum ways. A guy who works
at a restaurant next to where I work asked if
he could give me a foot maas side, I feel
like a real person instead of a reality TV person.
I'm ade fourteen dollars an hour, keeping it real. Well,
that's pretty good. I worked in grocery stores shout out
to Chicago. I worked at this place called Dominic's when

(56:19):
it used to be Dominic Now it's Mariano's. But my
brother and my sister were all uh, grocery store kids.
I worked at furniture stores. I worked at the Illinois
Department of Transportation. I worked and did all I did
all that, I did job jobs because I had a
job at fifteen. I remember in fifteen years on, I
got a job. My father said, you have to get
the job. You know that's Nigerians get a job. I

(56:40):
got a job. Did I hooked my friends up with
a job. There's nothing like hooking your boys up with
a job. I get a job to be good at
it or else. But it was a grocery store. I
got a job and then my buddy, the manager goes, hey,
you got any friends that need a job. I go, yeah,
we're all broken friends a referral fee. My friends come in,
they go, hey, we're here for a job. Here's your uniforms.

(57:02):
Start working polations. It was the bagging groceries. So did
you get good tips? No, sometimes you got tips, but yeah,
I was just your job. But it was great. Grocery
stores have unions, so you got like paid weekly. You
got raises every couple of months. That's like high school job. Man. Well,
the reason I wanted to talk about Katie in particular

(57:23):
is when she was on the show, she actually had
to go to rehab. She did a thirty day rehab program.
She was trying to kick alcohol and adderall in a
medical setting. So she's been talking about all of these
different things and sharing it with people. But she only
was on the show back in She has made appearances
back on the show after that, but I guess she
was having some issues and that was that. So now

(57:45):
she has a regular job, And I feel like sometimes
people try to shame people who work a nine to
five or have a job, but I also feel like, yeah,
I also feel like if you're happy in your life,
I think that's wonderful. What she's doing. That's builds. And
also the guy from the Cosby Show did the same thing,
remember and then somebody, but it helped him. Now he's

(58:06):
working back in the business again because she tried to
shame him. But that actually got people to gather and say,
hey man, let's bring this back because he's a fantastic
actor and he had the humility. Hey, I have a family.
I gotta support that. There's nothing wrong with having a job.
You're people that don't have a job. Yeah, And without
people having jobs, how do you support Because everybody's trying

(58:29):
to be a superstar and they think that with with
with with social media and everybody front and they think
that having a job is a bad thing. No, it
is not a bad thing, especially if you're entertainment. But
it's a reality show. You're not really you know, you're
a reality show for some people. They feel like, well
I did this. People know who I am. I can't
go get a regular job. It's corteous. You can't never

(58:49):
worry about what other people think. So we just want
to shout out to Katie, shout off. She feels like
a regular person. Now she's doing what she has to
do to pay her bills. Good to see that she's healthy.
We would rather have a job doing that. They'll be
on television and dealing with addiction and all deal with
publicly for her. All right, So yes, that is um
just a little something that I saw that I thought

(59:10):
was interesting and where that's good to talk about. And
we do have asked coming up. So once again that
phone number is eight hundred two, nine to eight hundred.
Angela is way up with its relationship or career advice.
Angela's dropping facts. You know, it's way a for Angela. Ye,

(59:36):
my guest host God for you, and it is time
for asked eight D. Any question you have remember, no
question is stupid. We're here to help. Good afternoon. Who's this, Hi, Angela,
This is Gabriella. Congratulations on your new show. Love you,
Thank you, Gabriella. We love you too. Okay, so you
want to hear my problem right? Oh my god. So

(59:59):
you know, I'm recently out of a tenure relationship. I've
been single for a year. I've been on the dating
app and you know, I'm not into anyone. Everyone is like, no, no, no.
I finally found this one guy who I'm like, all right, cool,
he's cool. You know. Every time we hang out is
good vibes, it's you know, just here here energy and
I love it. Yes, But okay, so he you know,

(01:00:21):
he lives in a little fast life, so he's in
and out of different states, you know, but whatever, you know, stacology.
There we go, you know, and he's not he's not
like he's not like a no one, but he's not.
I don't I don't know. I don't know the details.
But he'm busy, you know, and I know he has

(01:00:45):
I know, I know he has a lot of options,
a lot of girls, you know whatever. And then you know,
like I'll check the app and I'm like, oh wait,
like it's showing that his location has moved, and I'm like, Okay,
I don't know if it's the app. I don't know
if it's him anging it. But you know, every time
we came out, like, I'm like, he tells me about

(01:01:05):
his family, you know, he tells me like a lot
of stuff, and I'm just like, well, I don't know
if I'm like special to him. I don't know if
I'm regular, like and I you know, I don't want
to ask him like, well, what are we? But are
you sleeping with him? I have, but it's like this
thing is like it's not even about that for him.
He like, I actually kind of got annoyed the other
day because we hung out for like an hour before

(01:01:27):
he left to his flight, and he didn't try to
do nothing, Like he just wanted to like talk and
he'll cook for me, Like, because I just wanted The
reason that I asked you that, Gabriella, because if you're
sleeping somebody, you have the right to ask him any
question you want to ask them. Okay, That's why I
asked you that, because even though it may not be
just about that, but if you're dealing with somebody intimately,
I have the right to ask you questions. The intimacy part,

(01:01:52):
that's when things get complicated, you know what I mean.
And he's in and out, she says, he's all over
the place, moving around, and you really like him, but
let me ask you. It's like you don't even know
what he's doing. And I don't think you should again,
but I think you have a feeling. Women have that
gut feeling stopping. You know, you like him a lot.
Maybe that's the challenge to the fact that he's kind

(01:02:14):
of hard to capture. Maybe that's what it comes to
an end at some point, it does. It does, and
you hope that state to state as in prison, because
does he have a because you also want to know
does he have an end goal of getting out of that?
Right right, right right? I know, but it's just so
hard for me because I'm like, I haven't found anyone
else that I'm like, you know, but you're not going

(01:02:36):
to if you're all caught up in one person, that's
not going to leave you open to find somebody else
who it could be. And then I don't feel like
you should want to be with somebody who you don't
think you can ask anything. I should be able to
ask you anything, right, criminals, Criminals are charming because in
crime you've gotta be a little charming and to commit
the crash. It's something about no because there's like charming

(01:02:59):
people that do bad things. That's the problem, right, you
know what I mean? They have charm, you know. I
just want you to make smart decisions about yourself and
your life. I don't want you to put yourself in
a position where you could get in trouble for anything
and maybe something or maybe something happens to him and
now you're devastated because you've got yourself in so deep
without knowing what you're getting into. So I think sometimes

(01:03:21):
we have to keep options open, but also be here.
You have to, you have to to. I don't know.
Women might be different than men, right, Yeah, you know
you don't like to juggle a lot of people women
don't like to do that. Do that, Um, it depends.
I mean, like if you're single, you should. I think
medically it's not that great for you guys to hygienically.

(01:03:44):
It's you just protect you to do what you just
healthy is. I want you to put yourself though, and
you're he's not more important than you to you. You're
more important, very true, and held yourself to a standard,
because if you get him used to being able to
come and go as he pleases, not having to explain
anything to you, not having those conversations, why would he

(01:04:06):
Yeah exactly, wow right not right there all I needed
to hear. Alright, Well, good luck. It's asking eight coming
up next. We got the last word, and you guys
can also call that number eight fifty and give your
last words from day one. Way up at angela ye,
nationwide when my guy got a break holding it down?

(01:04:29):
Was that the dog pounds up? Where angela ye? Well
this was a time today we did it day one
of them. Nashal syndicated, way up with angela ye. Feature
ain't God for you? There it is there, it is now.
I mean you did good. This was great. Good. No,

(01:04:52):
we don't have nothing. We don't give us some time.
We don't have nothing. I don't have a laptop, I
don't have my friends and my water, no food, no food.
But what we do have is each other. That's what
that's what this good times. But we do have each other, James,
good times and the time you need the payment, But

(01:05:14):
we have each other. That's when you've got no money.
It's like it's like you're having no money for a church. Inside.
There's no water for me. I have to talk. How
do you not have It's a four our show. We
need liquid to liquidate our mouse. You want us to
be cotton. So listen Angela that my buss Dida comes

(01:05:36):
in here and God's like, we need liquids, and she
was like, it's too early to drink. I'm sorry, but
we need liquids in here. We don't have time for
your crap. It's kind of like, um, I do have tequila,
but it's kind of like the fire festival they didn't
have what they didn't have champagne. No need water. We speak,
we need water. Very important. Take Yeah, but if you

(01:05:56):
had to, you would just drink tequila. No. I don't
drink though if you had to, but I guess I would.
I would gargle or something like. You know. I'm this
part of the show. And actually the way up for
Angela is very interactive. So a lot of this is
for people to be able to talk, call in and
have your moments on the air and have fun with
us and weigh in and tell us what you think

(01:06:16):
about things, ask for advice, so you're gonna have some
fun these next couple of days with some of these
segments that we have. It's very fast paced, very fast paced.
I noticed that we're moving, moving, moving, and moving, and
the end of the show right now is the last words.
So once everything is together together, y'all will be calling
in eight fifty and leaving messages. Um. I don't know
if you can. Can they do it during the show yet? Okay,

(01:06:38):
we're working on it, okay, um, but throughout the day.
I was actually out with some of my friends the
other night and they got drunk and they were like,
we're gonna call and leave a message right now, and
so you can call and leave a message at any
time when we're off the air, and that's good, and
we'll actually play it at the end of the show.
And it is only curse one. So that was amazing
one time curse. But they turned into yeah, professional, very profound.

(01:07:07):
I thought I did pretty good. Do it always clean
Christian comedy. Instead of saying the A word, I said
my butt, I said ge golly instead of the D
words wait, wait, g golly. Instead of saying like damn it,
can I say damn it, darn it gosh, darn it,

(01:07:29):
sag Nabb. But you know it's fun that we get
to come up here and do this. I was telling
you off the air that I caught up on some
TV over the weekend and I was watching BT plus
and Monique is in a new movie, baby baby called
The Reading Baby. I just talked through it the other
day where she was on my live listen babies, Hello,
my loves. That's that's Monique is my I did if

(01:07:50):
I did Fat Girls, and so play with her. Monique
is my homie. I'm proud of her that she's making
a great comeback. Did you watch her movie? No? I
did not, my love I'm sorry, baby, I love love her.
He's great. Shot to my girl Jasmine, who's like, can
you give me your BT plus subscription so I can
watch it too? Wow? Send it to her now. But

(01:08:10):
it was good. You know. I love a girl horror movie.
That's my favorite genre of movies. Yeah. So it's a
horror movie and the way it starts off, it goes
in without being immediately as soon as you turn it on.
I was like, I wasn't expecting of that. BT Plus.
I love bt I love et just the black acting
it's all like the trailers be like I told you,

(01:08:31):
I'm trying to get out to ghetto, well I need
my money or everywhere, but this isn't. It was a
good movie and it really like when I tell you Monique,
and we talked about that a lot today. As our
last word, we did talk about the Grand Names of
hip Hop, which was fantastic. That's probably one of my
one of the best moments ever. For the Grammys, Yeah,

(01:08:52):
and Beyonce holding it down breaking records. Wasn't the Grammys
where old dirty bastard went up there for the child
who dang is for? It was awesome? That was That
was the Grammy's right, Yeah, I think it was the Grammy. Yes,
I don't think it was the Oscars, TV Awards or

(01:09:12):
something Best Actor. There used to be so many awards
shows back in the day. Remember well the talent kind
of got kind of crappy, so they kind of cut
you think that's why I know I remember their awarding
anybody anything like the normal piece Julia Beverley with the
Ozone Awards, Remember those awards? Remember those awards? Did Steve

(01:09:35):
Harvey have awards awards something? Yes? What is it called?
He had he had awards like awards was like I
got to do family feud. I can't be giving awards
to y'all that I need awards myself, the source awards
and used to fight all the boom. Well, Godfrey, we'll

(01:09:57):
be back tomorrow. I'm way up with ANGELA. Thank off
for joining us
