Speaker 1 (00:03):
What's up his way up for Angela? Ye, and my
good friend Godfrey is here.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Yo. First of all, the genesis of this whole thing.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
I love the fact that they booked you. And I
looked at the calendar. I said, oh, Godfrey's coming.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
I thought it was weird. And I sat in your
green room and I was angry.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
He's like, why is Godfrey in the green I'm like, I.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Want to just walk in and bother you. I'm like,
I just want to walk in and interrupt, I know.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
But then I was like, you know, Godfrey's gotten real Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
So it's really really cut up Hollywood. Yeah, you you
got Hollywood by making me stay in agreement you were
you're not ready for you tell them to stay.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Did somebody tell you that they we're not ready?
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Yeah, somebody said I'm dead dy I go, I just
walk in and ruin her show.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
He said, I was in the bathroom.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Oh yeah, that's right.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
So he can't be here because I'm in the thank
you see, I have.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Every right, man, I am from the beginning. I was
there in the opening. And you had that party at
forty forty.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Yes, that was quite a that was quite a jam.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
That was awesome.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Yeah, I was thirty forty closed now, which is crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Well I didn't. I was surprised it lasted that long though.
Damn you were like this, we're going forty four. I
was like, what ninety eight is?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Oh my gosh, well listen it was, but forty forty
they still had some in the airports and stuff like that.
I think there's still at forty forty inside the Barclays too,
if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Okay, so there's still still around a little bit. So
a little brand. Well, you know, clubbing is that was
when we were clubbing.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
But it's more of a sports bar. It was always
a sports bar, like people will go there to watch sports.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Me like already we would go a quah and we
would go for parties, you know, we would go I
remember we went to the draft for like.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Chris Paul okay, see.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
The draft party and it was just a party and
it was.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Like, yo, Jasey did used to be there.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
We should be there, yeah to see you.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Oh great, what do you do if you don't party anymore?
Because back in the day, I feel like we all
did used to go out like that.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Now we kind of hang out in the club when
we perform, we just kind of hang out at a
little like a little restaurant that we have down in
the village, you know, the Comedy Cellar. They have the
Olive Tree. So we just hang out kind of that
like that me already, we don't really Me and Artie
used to it used to be me and Artie and
we would just jet like let's go to Lotus, Let's
go to Swede, let's go to Life, let's go to
(02:21):
let's go to Spa, let's go to gold Bar.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
And the younger kids are doing it. Or if there's
not a club life, well.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
You know what, check it out. I was watching there's
this woman I actually played it on my podcast last night.
There's this woman who's an international like pr person for
clubs and she goes, yeah, so I've been, you know,
traveling around different countries nationally internationally about clubbing. Said clubbing
is dying because you go there and everyone's looking at
their phones. The music is not danceable really, and so
(02:51):
we wanted what we want to do is strategize and
get rid of the tables. A lot of these bottle
services get rid of the tables, like have a space
for dance to forced people to kind of because no one,
no one's dancing because everybody's so fly looking at themselves
with their.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Filters as you need to have a table.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
It's like yeah, so he said, it's like the club
scene is really dying because when we were coming, our
music was danceable. We had danceable music, like it was
like and even when I've been to one time, I
accidentally stumbled into a club, right and yeah, and it
was like real mumble rapping everyone's it was like, what's
going on, It's like it was weird. And then they
(03:29):
played some biggie whatever. Now everybody started it was like weird.
It's like when they were playing our stuff, everybody started dancing.
And then they went back to him and hmaa humana.
You said, our stuff is when it was live. I'm sorry,
late nineties, early two thousands, before it started going to crap.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
You know what. But that's a good point because phones
did kind of kill the clubs because I remember when
everybody didn't have a cell phone, right, remember.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
When Vingan on that song video killed the radio star
and when it was almost like videos came killed the radios,
and it's the same aim. Now it's cell phones is
killing the parties parties, and I.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Feel like you also hang out a lot, like in
Godfrey We trust your podcast. Yes, when you do that podcast,
you all be hanging in there for hours.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, we do. Man as long as there's couches.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Yeah, oh youre's a couch. It's like Branberry juice.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Remember you were in d C and you came saw
me at.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
The Yes and we hung out. Agree.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
You don't even drink all day? Yeah, you should have.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Because it's interesting because now for comedians who don't drink,
I think because we've seen a lot of instance incidents
of comedians who do drink. But of course yeah, so
for comedians that don't drink in the comedy club, that's
a tough thing because they are for you drink sometimes
all the time. I started. That's payment.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I'm one of the one of the easiest comedians because
they go, we got you your roop here good. Make
sure it's botty.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Actually feels hard to get.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
It's sometimes they get I say no A and w
no barks. That's in my contract. I need a bottle. Oh,
there's Henry Winhart.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
There's that's easy.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
There's Stewart's, there's ib C there's virgils, there's yo and
what's up? Because Angela and angel would be like this.
You know, I got a line to right, you know, yeah,
property and I have root air line. It's Angela.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I don't know anybody who drinks root beer.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
I'm a serious, serious root beer float. I love root
beer floats too, depending on the root beer. But I
don't do an w bars. That's whack you do. Like
the bottle in the dark bottle.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
You know you got a good Somebody in this room
said to me, who the hell drinks root beer?
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Me?
Speaker 1 (05:46):
And it's just funny that you have Who was that fool?
Speaker 2 (05:49):
It's me and I But I like that they don't
like root beer. Good cream soda is just right right
up behind and ginger beer? Those are those are my?
Those are? It depends on the type of you. Gotta
be careful.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
He set an expert on so many days.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Because there's people who are experts in wines. They know
they're cabernets, they know their sounding you, they know that
that me, I go, what's about root beer? See? I
know my root beer is Like like.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
I said, I why is AKEM texting me?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
You know? That's my man? That's my dog.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
What I love about am He gets excited over like,
he gets excited over everything. Yes, he does, and it's
very cute. I like that.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I had a I had conversation with Eric Abou. You know,
he loves Erica, and I had a and I was
going into the podcast a few weeks ago and Erica
and I said, I have a fan of persons, a
fan like, oh my god, and I don't think she
ever spoke to me again.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Why did you have to do his voice like that?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Oh my god? I love because I imitate because he
travels with me.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Yeah, and that's I met him when right.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Whenever he sells his tea shirt, he goes thy dollo.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
He got that.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
When he's selling him on stage, he goes like this,
he goes like this okay, and he'll like try to
he'll hit on a dude. He goes like this. You cute.
But you.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Know, it's it's funny because I was looking at some
of the comments of the impressions that you do, and
even the people who you in person are like, oh
he did our accent good, Oh yeah, the ultimate compliment.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Yeah yeah, when you can do accents, yeah, And then.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
The people who you are imitating, especially when it's a.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
For like a culture of people at night. They go, oh, man,
that was good. Like if I do India, Like I remember,
I knew my Indian accent was perfect. He's like, how
do you know that's very good for Indian friends. Yeah,
there's a billion of you on the planet. Yeah, we
all have an Indian friend, whether we like it or not.
That's what that's. It's like, I be your friend. There's
(08:00):
so many of us.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
And you know that club Shah interview because I feel
like people love to be on that club Sha Shay couch.
But it was so funny was that I was like,
he's imitating him, but he knows.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yes, people think that I was imitating Shannon Sharp. Unbeknownst
to him. First of all, a bike Shannon Sharp is
I'm not going to clown him if you do, I said.
He said, he said, hey, you can do I want
you to do. He's like, Guffy, I want you to
do me and you interview me as me And I
said all right, and we we planned it. It wasn't like, oh,
let me clown Shannon Sharp.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
This was such a regular conversation, but it was great.
So the way it looked was. You were talking to
him like him, but he wasn't reacting. Yeah no, yeah,
but no, he he was just having a conversation.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
He knew I was doing it. I guarantee I brought
the because the producer brought that. I brought the glasses
and everything. He's like, you'll bring the glasses. He's cool
with that.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
You think, you know how before I know, you were like,
I'm glad this happened.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Do they know how big Day Sharp is? They talk
all that smack, but when you see him, you're like, oh, hey, Shan,
I was just joking. He would go, yeah, he's he's
People don't understand. He was one of the greatest tight
ends that ever played football. He was He literally changed
the tight end position and his brother Sterling Sharp would
(09:20):
have went it was a Green Bay Packers wide receiver.
Shannon Sharp is the real deal, got three Super Bowl
rings and John Elway was his quarterback. If people don't
understand what NFL, you better get what he's doing now
is just like side stuff. But he was the real deal.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Isn't it crazy how fast the tides turn and and
then can turn back. Because I feel like we're Shannon
and Sharp all that drama happened, and then I feel
like we kind of forgot about it.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
That well because it was bogus and you know, he
was like, you know, it's not like the person was underage.
It was just somebody trying to get a bag. And
I think it's great that he's joking on himself. And
I told jan I said, man, make fun of yourself. Man,
that's what you do when you because he was like,
he's making fun of himself with with Cho Siko, they're
making fun of him now. And I said, man, once
(10:06):
you joke, I just joke on it, all right. I
messed up. Because George Michael is a perfect example of that.
When from the documentary is great because when he remember
got caught in the bathroom a guy, he went on
a tour making fun of himself and they were.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Like, I didn't see that.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
I did, well, did you know? And then that's how
you gotta joke. What are you gonna do? What else
are you gonna do?
Speaker 1 (10:31):
I think you know. The thing for him was also
people feel like he had this big deal on the
table million.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah I know, and he probably, but here's the thing
and then he.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
Ended up canceling or postponing the tour like I shouldn't do.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
But I think he's gonna be just fine. He's great
at what he does. His show is amazing. And my
thing is it almost seems like like Zion the Ballplayer,
all of a sudden, this girl's coming out. Really, I
don't believe any of this. It's like it's always it's
always the people who are making a hu huge amounts
of money. Well someone says someone rape me what all
(11:04):
the time?
Speaker 1 (11:05):
Though, okay, but we don't know, So I don't want
to it's not a money place because we don't know.
We don't know because it's a Jane Doe. It's not
you're talking about the Jane Do the other woman Mariah
that has said things about him. She's not the person
that's suing.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
But I hope to that it doesn't because it's always
like somebody with a lot of dough. It's never somebody
broke I meant.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
But you know what it is, that's what we hear about, right, Yeah,
And I hope Listen, I don't want that to happen
to anything the celebrities, and it's like, okay. Also at
the same time, know that there's a lot of women
who things have happened to you that are quiet about it,
and that's the true will never speak about.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
It ruins for them when it's constantly you're like are
you sure, and then they end up lying and I
just you know, it's just weird because everybody's trying to
get a bag, So then you go, wow, what is
this about? You understand where coming from?
Speaker 1 (11:54):
I mean, it's hard because like even with the whole
castid thing, no one believed her till the video came
out of her getting like beat up in the hallway.
Everybody that video came out, they were like, oh damn,
like this really happened. Because sometimes we can I can
put people in a certain and I don't mean you
idolizing anybody, but sometimes people can idolize someone to the
point where they don't believe that that person could have
done something like this. So we don't know who did what,
(12:17):
and so we don't know what's true, we don't know
what's not true. So I never liked because even if
somebody gets found not guilty or guilty, those things could
also be wrong, you know what I mean. And that's
what's really risky about women coming forward to say anything
because it's really hard to prove.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
We just just stop interacting with each other, no, because
it almost seems illegal to like, like, let's say you
have consensual blah blah blah with someone and then just
a year later he did this to wait what what? How?
You know? And you could they could just stay in
your reputation even though you go, what are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (12:51):
That never happened.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Yeah, so it's almost illegal to So we got to
have some new law where we go, Okay, you like him,
you like her? You are guys now having conceptual I
have like a little judge. You're having cont.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Michael Buffer comes out, yeah, yeah in this corner waiting
five eleven, horny, ready to able, you know.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
And then it's like we need do we record? Do
we have to record?
Speaker 1 (13:19):
And I know, because I will say this, I do
think that bad behavior was normalized for such a long
time and so a lot of things are coming back
around now at a time when people women felt very
like they didn't have a voice. No one cared when
I started, When I started this visits, it definitely was
a conversation like, look, you gotta have tough skin. Things
(13:39):
are gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
This is amazing trash. Yeah, which is the truth, because
they ran everything. Especially you got people like with the
cosmic things back in the sixties. You know how open
it was like, you know they you know they did
remember the backhand slap in those movies, shout you get
me a drink? Yeah right, you gotta take these broads,
you know, that's what the culture for a long time
(14:02):
than the Me Too movement, which I believe it's good
to take people like, take people down that are doing
these things because I hate that women that want to
make it they got to do all this nasty.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Harvey Weinsting is on trial right now. Now.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
He's trying to say I didn't do anything all of
a sudden, it happened with the Diddy trial. He's like,
you know, let me get.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Out of here, let me slack all of a sudden,
And he looks pretty healthy.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Now he doesn't look that bad. Remember when he first
was going to tell Now he's like, I never touched her, Okay,
But I mean, I think that it's good that it's
happening because hopefully the landscape will change where hey man,
I want to be successful, I don't have to I
don't be able to have to be creeped on, which
I think and.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
That might also make guys think twice because I think
a lot of times people get mad about women coming forward,
like they'll be like, why is she good?
Speaker 2 (14:52):
I'm glad when they come forward.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
The first instinct is people don't believe it. I do
think that's the first instinct, like, well, why is she
saying this now? And who was it? Was it Bill
Maher that says something crazy? He was like, we need
a new law that women can't wait. You got to
say it right. That was a wild thing to say,
because there's a lot of reasons why people wait, you know,
(15:14):
to be able to talk.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Shut up sometimes just shut up, snarky bastard.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
And I think also even for women with men with
bad behavior. Have you ever felt like women have overstepped
their boundaries?
Speaker 2 (15:24):
Yeah, make sure they grab on you, grab your hey.
You don't mind if I go.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
What somebody squeeze that. Women squeeze your whole time.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
It'll be like they take you. I'm like, but then
I'll take a photo and go have Jesus hands go
don't touch it because they'll go you rub my hand,
or if it's a lot of times when some women
will run up to you after shows and they may be.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Right there, and I greet the man first, Okay, that's
the law.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
Like that, because you don't that's weird, like disrespectful. But
then I'll go, hey, my man, you see my hand
right here, right.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
There, it's right here, and they'll be like, no, hug me.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
I'm like, no, we ain't doing that.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
You know you have to be right.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
I don't, you know, I don't even. I don't greet
people really anymore. I just go straight to the green
room unless there's people really waiting to take I don't.
I go straight to the green room because no one
could accuse me anything. I wasn't there.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
That's crazy there, Yeah, I go straight.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
I don't look forward to summer anymore. I don't look
at nothing. I don't look the summer because summer the
honey's gonna be out, won't be don't yet. I don't
do none of that anymore. I'm I can't wait till
winter time. Everything's wrapped up.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Well, the were they're outside, I don't, yeah, we don't.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
I don't really, I just don't.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
We got to get to this talk. The special Yes
are going to be filming June twelfth specials. Thanks, I lost,
not greed June twelve at the Apollo.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
You have two shows, two shows sick o'clock and nine
pm also, so it's overdue almost twenty seventeen.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
That's crazy. You haven't done a special in that I did.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
The only thing special thing I did was with Tiffany
Hattish's day ready since I've seen that she brought me
on there when I did her live tour, hosted her
live tour her She ready to her thing, she asked me,
and she goes, I need you to just do twenty
minutes on this, just to be in the just be
in the people, the Netflix people's faces. But that didn't
do any good, so you know, but what I did
(17:30):
was wait, what, no, Dan, what are you doing?
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Yeah? Dan, trying to notes, he said. Ask about Shaq's involvement.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Oh well yeah, well, Shack is the one that kind
of Shack is like to hide. Shack is the one
that called me one day because he likes to call
me randomly on FaceTime.
Speaker 4 (17:52):
He goes, governs, do your special. I said, Okay, find
the place, let me know. Okay out all right, So
we find it. I said, I'm gonna I think I'm
gonna do Sony Hall about five hundred people come on,
think outside the bucks, get out of your comfort zone.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
Okay, done. I come back. Hey, we're thinking maybe King's
Theater in Brooklyn or the Apollo too big, too much?
Speaker 1 (18:23):
This just right?
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Yeah. So I have an amazing producer, Rachel Fraser, who
is who literally like she's a film producer line, but
she just executed like she got it all day. I said, hey,
I think it's Apollo. She goes, Okay, next day I
got the Apollo. What no, No, she gets it done.
I was like, oh, I didn't know you got things together.
(18:45):
Okay she got oh yeah, it was like goto.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
I was like, Mina start working with God.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Oh yeah, Minas holding it down with us. You know,
I got a whole crew Amanda ds just women just
hold women they get it done because they like that.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
I love that women like to well, women are great
at organizing.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
I will say that. And my one of my good friends,
ex girlfriend, Kimberly Guy is another fantastic one of the
smartest human beings in the world. She's part of it too.
I mean, just it's women, women, women, women getting things
together man. And uh yeah, I'm really happy that it's
and people are like, it's about time.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
I mean I felt that way too. But even when
you were coming here and like paying attention to me
before and caring about this show, I was like, when
is God going to do? We had a whole conversation
and you were like maybe I should do a go
fund and then you didn't want to do a go
fun and it's like.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
A whole yeah, And I raised money and go fund me.
My my frians were like, going to the comedy show, dude,
that's it.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
What happened. So this is part of the goal.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Yeah, I had because I wanted to money. Well, Shack
let me, she always go through it. I said, well Shack,
I said, let me have some money because I don't
want to just be I don't ask, he offered me.
I said, oh, I'm raised some money. Then Will i
Am I did will i Ams his digital You know,
Will i AM's in a spaceship somewhere.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Right, He's always right.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
He goes like this. You know, I could disappear, right.
He's doing all kinds of cool stuff. So I met
him at the laugh Factory in La came to my show,
just popped up and said, hey, man. You know I'm
a big fan, right, And I met him years ago
in Amsterdam when he was with before Fergie was on
the Black Eyed Peas. It was when they were doing
That's the Joint Death Jam turned it. Yeah. So we
(20:30):
were doing a Lowlands festival and and so he goes, hey,
do my do my podcast, my AI podcast? And I
did it, and he goes and at the end of
the podcast, he goes, what are you doing? I said, hey,
you know, I think I'm raising money. I'm raising money
to do a special And.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
I hate that. You hate to say you're raising money
because even your facial expression when you're like I'm raising money,
like I'm raising money but.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
I don't know. I never done it. And this and
when it comes to stand up.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Comedy, you like didn't even push it. I used to
be like, guy if he posted go frond, me like, okay,
yeah I did and raising money and Dante helped me.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Dante Nero of course my co host of my podcast.
He helped set it up and all this other stuff.
And then uh, I was like okay, and you know,
we got some some stuff raised that was cool. And
then will i Am said, hey, man, I'm gonna send
you some money. I said, oh cool, I think he's
gonna send me like, you know, a hundred dollars or
something like. That's cool. And he sent me some money.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
I was like, he said, did you get it?
Speaker 1 (21:27):
I was like yeah, He said, what does he get at?
So well?
Speaker 2 (21:31):
He don't even remember that he sent it to me?
He goes, I did. I said, yeah, man, thanks a lot. Crazy,
And I kind of want to play something for y'all.
You're gonna I'm gonna play this for you. This is
really I didn't even know this what happened to me.
It was really a surprise. Let me see.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Is this the rock?
Speaker 2 (21:52):
Yes? I got it?
Speaker 1 (21:53):
You know it's I gotta play this because I like
with you being the rock?
Speaker 2 (21:59):
How would I do that when it's his thing? Ai
A ready, No, it's not Ai okay. And I don't
know him like that, but I know he's liked some
of my reels, you know, people like and I go,
whoa ready, okay, here I go. I like to brag
about this, ready, yo, brother, it's rock here.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Just checking in with you, man, I just saw your
post about.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
About the Apollo. Dude. It's fucking amazing, man. I know
you're gonna rock that house. Man, Keep doing the keep
doing great work, brother, keep kicking assen. I'm always supporting you, man,
always rooting for you to win. But the fucking Apollo.
Come on, man, I love it all right, dude, keep
(22:46):
killing it. We'll talk.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
So congrats on that sounds like he's hiking. Well he
that's dope.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
He's right lifting weights. Hey, it's rock. I'm lifting a
building right now throwing people out the window. That was like,
because I was in North Carolin, I said that, but
Donald I accidentally left you a message, so I was like, Wow,
that was cool, man.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
That's amazing. That's really nice that people would be tapped
in that.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
You never even man, I, and you don't think anybody
because you see other you see other people. You know,
with those guys, I never thought I you know, you
don't think I just go about your business and you go, nah, hey, man.
I Like there's a few people that were like, good
luck on that, because I was like, that's cool. You
know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
My whole thing is I just wanted to care about
the other people I did.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
I kind of like the rock no I had Sterling
k Brown.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Wow, Kate Brown, did you watch Paradise.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Yeah, I heard it's great. And Sterling K. Brown we
were sitting in the first guy he comes up after
he's like sleeping. He goes, I love your work.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
But I go, oh, that's amazing, man.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Like yeah, Sterling K and just different people, which is good,
which is which is nice. So you know, I felt
just followed me. Really yeah, I feel just followed me.
And I know him. I know I actually know Jerry,
but he just follow It's like it's it's kind of cool,
like it's almost like stuff is aligning kind of I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Yeah, because this special is going to be amazing. So
when you take this special, do you know like when
it's coming out and no, my.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Whole concern is just to film a good special.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
You have a name for it.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
I don't really know. Maybe just god, I don't. I
don't really know yet. I don't really know yet.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
There is a name, there's nothing, doesn't say anything.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Boy is that?
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Oh okay? No, I know you have like a protective screen.
She has a protective screen. So we can't see something
about Roderigo here.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
We go, oh yeah, oh no yeah Rodrigo, yeah he
needs he what? Yeah? Yeah, guy, there's a guy. No, no, no,
I'm telling you, man, I'd be having some like stream people.
There's a guy from in Los Angeles. I met him
in Ontario, come for and he came to my show.
(25:05):
Came to my show and he's like, listen. He goes, yo,
I'm a big fan of yours. Blah blah blah blah.
He came with this chef guy. He's doing some stuff
stuff with here in my green room and we're sitting there.
He goes, yo, whatever you need, I want to help
you with your thing. I was like, right, thanks, and
(25:26):
I'm like, yeah, that's nice. I'm with my other buddy,
he's another comedy. We're like, yeah, okay, yeah, thanks dude.
He goes, no, seriously, anything you need. I'm such a fan.
And it doesn't make sense. How commute on it you
should have. You should be on your third fourth special.
This is He was angry. He was literally angry in
my in my grip. I said, all right, bro, he
said here's my number. I said okay, cool, and I
didn't bother with him, right, And so when this came up,
(25:50):
I said, let me see what's up. And I would
I would test him every month. I go, hey, what's Rodrigo?
You're still down with that? You got it testing him?
Then this whole thing comes up. I go, hey, man,
you know i'm doing my specially. He goes, how much
you need? I said as much? He goes, I'll give
it to you tomorrow. I said stop.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
I felt like you should ask for more when people
answer that fast too.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
But he was like, as long as you're not, as
long as you're fair, as long as you don't do
this to me. I say, well, I'm not built to
shit on people, so I just don't do that. Maybe
that's the problem me in this business. I'm just fair.
I don't believe I'm not.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
And he's dealing directly with you, which is also I
think beneficial, because sometimes there's a lot of different channels
that people have to do. This person speaking for you,
this is all grassroots, and want to cut this person
a man.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
I go, right, this is grassroots. But he literally came
through and we designed a whole little thing for him.
Everything is fair, and he even said not everything is
I know, not everything is gonna work. Nothing's guaranteed. But
as long as we started out fair, if anything does happen,
we all get I said that's I I've always believed
in that. Yeah, I never understand and entertainment how people
want to screw other people. I don't. I just don't
(26:58):
understand that every what he's eating?
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Yes, but why do you why do you get really selfish?
Speaker 2 (27:03):
I want I want eighteen houses? What's wrong with having three?
I want eighteen of them? And I don't go to
so I can say I don't even use that house.
I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Isn't it great that you put it in the atmosphere
and said you were going to do this special and
then everything just starts. It started to really like because
if you even were to sit down and think about
the relationships that you do have, that you know, if
I hit this person up, like, who's going to be
like no?
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Right? And that's the thing that because you know, people
say you know a lot of people. I go, yeah,
but that doesn't always mean you know, you know what
I'm saying. And the personality like I can call you
up and I know you'll come through for me in
some kind of way. You'll always do you always. I
just know how you are. So if I ask, like
will I asked him do He'll just be like yeah,
what's up? Certain people, I go, oh, no, I ain't
(27:51):
asking this dude, right, he's you know what I mean,
my interactions with them, I don't think I can just
ask like Shack, I can always call. I don't think
he is not always gonna be a He'll pick up
the phone at some point he said you should have
called me. I'm like I did.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Or Nick Cannon, Nick.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Nick Man, are you kidding me? Nick Cannon has always
looked out for me. So there's certain specific people whose
personalities are just they're giving, they're not trying to No
one's perfect, but Nick Cannon, I can call you, I
could call Shack, I can call certain but there's certain
other people that no man.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Right, you know, I just it's a funny business. But
I think once this special happens, that's when things also
open up and them people that before they'll be like, hey,
why you didn't call me?
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Yeah, yeah, this business.
Speaker 2 (28:30):
I can literally call Faison face always been Faison. Who
don't you up dealing with Pete Guns? You had always
call Pete peat Guns. You'll be like, yo, God, you
know I can't do it right, Okay, but Pete will
always answer certain people, but other than that though, I
don't really you know, certain pe I just don't deal
(28:51):
with It's just too energy, is weird.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
So you've been working at your material?
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Yes, it's been worked out.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Yeah, it's been worked out. I feel like you have
ton every time.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
I especially when it takes forever. You just build a lot.
I have a lot.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Yeah, that's all it's gonna say.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
It's like, and my boy Ruben Paul, who's an amazing
comedian out of LA who travels with George Lopez. He's
such an amazing writer. He's my guy I'm bringing in
to like keep me in, to like really organize my
whole my set because I have so much stuff to
keep me. Okay, we're gonna stick with this matter. That's
what he does. Ruben Paul fantastic. So yeah, I got that.
(29:26):
So I have my friends.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Do you ever use AI for anything to I'm going
to test something out right now. What I just want
to see. I want to see what jokes should Godfree tell?
And I'm gonna ask chat GBT. I'm just curious what
would be some good jokes for Godfree to tell during
his stand up? Let's see what I just I want
(29:50):
to see what it says. Let's see, it's transcribing what
would be some good Joseph. Okay, all right, let's see
what it says, because you know you love the little
all right, here's what it says. What if Donald Trump
was a Nigerian uncle, he'd be like, believe me, I
am the best uncle. I have the best goats. Nobody
raised goats better than me.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
I have.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
The best goats. Ever, here's another one.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
My goats said the best. Biden didn't have good goats. No,
my goats, You're fantastic. This is a great show.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Angie Jack gbt if Denzel Washington gave a Ted talk
on dating apps that go oh you're doing because they're like, yes, yeah,
look at that. Look at that left. My man, you
gotta be precise. You gotta be deliberate. You can't just
swipe on everybody.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
Is that what you're doing? Huh? Gotta swipe left if
you don't like you, what do you do? Now? What
are we gonna do? We're gonna swipe wipe left, swipe right.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
Oh, I want you to talk about the New York
City subway experience. Okay, all right, let me see woken.
It's got everyone scared. People doing TikTok therapy. That's cute.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
That's cute, Godfrey, that's a cute. How about that? That's
a getucket?
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Would you like jokes focused on one theme like dating, race,
celebrity impressions? I like, that's what it's asking you, and.
Speaker 2 (31:25):
You can't do it yourself, you know, I wouldn't get
what if Jack Gibt was Angela y kind of question? No?
I would.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
This is so random random.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
It's like kind of like in the ballpark.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Do you use it at all?
Speaker 5 (31:39):
No?
Speaker 2 (31:40):
I never, I haven't.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
It might be kind of funny for you to.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
I should just try and use it.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
Nigerian Uncle, I want some food. Food. What a great dish.
It's such a great dish. I love Foo Foo. Joe
Biden couldn't have food food, could he?
Speaker 5 (31:59):
His food food's not as good as my foodflu His
plantains are so bad plantains. His maduros deistone is too bad.
We're shipping all the latinos out. No more testones, no
more tistones.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
I still have east.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Oh my gosh. I can't take it too bad.
Speaker 5 (32:22):
Angelaie all the way up, because you might go down
if you're not careful.
Speaker 2 (32:27):
Angelae's going all the way down, because that's something you
would say people like Angelae. I don't like her show.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
She's going all the way down.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
It's like Fat Joe said, it's going all the way down.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
All the way down with Angela.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
You're going to hell, Angela, because there's from up, there's down,
and it's so hot down there.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
The Devil and Angelae.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
I'm using that that's gonna be the drop for the show.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
Angelie going all the way down.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
I was like, everybody quiet, we're trying to get this
drop clean.

a mayor debate next week. She at my coffee shop.
Speaker 2 (33:57):

kick off way up at Angela.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
From the very beginning, you could say anything.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
I'm first, when I first met Godfrey, I was like
he's to me. I was like, he's such a celebrity.
I don't even know if he will come up and
do this down the street.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
And I was like, so, and Angela's celebrity for me too,
I yeah, I'm coming. We talk about coming through. I
was on Breakfast Club when you right before you left.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Yeah, yeah, so I was there.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
When you transition.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
They look at all that, I look at us.
Speaker 2 (35:33):
Party, so no one could say nothing.
Speaker 1 (35:34):
That party was lit though they don't be a lot
of parties, but that, and I came with a chick too.
I know where she now.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
I don't know she got mad. I think she got
mad because I was getting like a lot of attention
because she was a model. Yeah she was yeah, And
I was like and then she just acted funny with
me after that.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
That was also like newish for you too, that it's
hard to take someone to a party on like a
But I.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Say, do you want to go? She's like, yeah, model,
she probably likes that type of stuff. And I was like,
it was like I was getting mad, but I was like,
it's not like I didn't earn it. But I wasn't
like ignoring. I was like, it's some cares, you know
what I'm saying. I don't really I don't walk around
like wait for people to go.
Speaker 1 (36:10):
I just she was tall, y'all, was walking around like
the King and Queen, you know what I'm saying, And
she got real.
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Weird on me. I was like, all right, I just
running the weirdos all the time.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
But anyway, you know, I think it's you.
Speaker 2 (36:22):
Maybe, No, it's it's just now I'm dope.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
I'm just saying, because it happens all the time. It
could be you.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Y No, it doesn't happen.
Speaker 1 (36:37):
It happens all the time.
Speaker 2 (36:38):
I run to a lot of weirdos. I do, not
all I do. Yeah, you're right, they're all weird. A
lot of them are weird. I don't know what it is.
It looks, but weird. It's weirds.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
It's funny because everybody in here was like, soon but listen.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
As you will give you body blows. Everyone's but God
for you.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Honestly, this is great. Like I love having your hair.
I need you sometimes, you know, I want Yeah, I
want you.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
You're back, I will I'll be I'll be back. Yeah,
we're going to planet.
Speaker 1 (37:08):
Yeah, you're down the block.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
The fact that Daniel's in the room now knows you
guys are doing well. Because Daniel used to go and
be flustrated. No, no, no, that we're not supposed to chase. No, no,
that's a break like this, what are you talking about?
(37:29):
You got it, we got the interview. You come back.
Remember that it was in and out. Now it's like
this everything.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
Yeah, he's chilling.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
Everything's chilling. We're like boom, everyone moved. Everything on this
side now mirrors right here. Now he's over there. I
remember when they first moved brought it in here. I
was here for I want to make sure I established myself.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
You're established, you're dang right on this and.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
For people smell me and I was here. I was like,
it's my territory. I don't know who's here. I was
here first. I'm the originator. There's only one Highlander, the original.
Are you entertained?
Speaker 5 (38:08):
What?
Speaker 2 (38:10):
I'm the original, whether you like it or not. To
genosis and everything like a new Bible, it is you,
it is me, Chapter one, it's him, Angeline Godfrey Well
