Speaker 2 (00:10):
All right, it is way upright, Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
I'm Angela Yee flying solo today with my producer, Dan Is,
my backup singer, my hype man.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Good morning, good morning, Happy Monday. I'm happy to be here.
I was actually out last night.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I cannot wait to tell y'all about that in about
last night. But in the meantime, we do have a
special guest joining us today from a Real Housewives epotomac.
Candice Diller Battt is gonna be joining us, and she
has a lot of drama going on. There's some big
Candace fans and then there's some people that have issues
with her. But one thing she doesn't do is shy
away from those conversations.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
So we'll be talking to her today.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Also, we always got to start the show off with
some love and some positivity, and that's what Shining Light
is all about. Shining a light on somebody doing something positive,
whether it's in your community, a family member, somebody you
saw on the news, whatever it is, spreading some love
and positivity. Dan, is your birthday officially over now, and
now it's also Capricorn Season's over.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
I believe so yah, yesterday was a last.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah, so Capricorn season's over, so the rest of the
year doesn't matter. But anyway, eight hundred and two ninety
two fifty one fifty is a number. Call us up,
Let us know who you want to spread some love to,
who you want to shine a light on?
Speaker 2 (01:19):
It is away up.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
I'm a sham.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Turn your lights on, y'all, lights spreading love to those
who are doing greatness.
Speaker 5 (01:26):
Shine a light on, Shine a light on. It's time
to shine a light on.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
All right, it is way up with Angela yee, happy Monday,
and it's time to shine a light spreading some love
and positivity. And today I want to shine a light
on somebody who I actually was with yesterday.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Erica Alexander.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
She is starring in American Fiction right now, and I'm
definitely going to see this movie this week. But when
I tell you, everywhere we went, everybody was coming up
to her and talking about how.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Amazing she was in that movie. But what I love about.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Erica is that she is so regular, like when we're
outside talking to people, she's a good time. But in
addition to that, just how honest she is about everything
in her life.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Even her being an actress.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
She was talking about how she never even embraced the
fact that she is an actress until her forties, even
while she was on living single playing Maxine and Shaw.
All the things that she's done since then, you know,
being in get out a lot of different things that
she's done, the Cosby Show. She just now is realizing,
you know, what she's meant to do and who she is,
(02:31):
and she's going to be on Broadway soon. So shout
out to you, Erica Alexander. And then she took the
train home, and you know, I love that, like a
lot of people who live here won't even take the train.
So shout out to you, Erica Alexander. Now, who do
you guys? Want to spread some love and shine a
light on eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty
p what's up?
Speaker 5 (02:48):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (02:49):
Angela?
Speaker 2 (02:49):
What's happening? You want to shout a last yeah?
Speaker 4 (02:52):
On the girl named Dana as her birth dad.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Now hold on, we need more details. Pe you know what,
what's her name? And now who is she?
Speaker 5 (03:03):
To you?
Speaker 7 (03:05):
There?
Speaker 3 (03:05):
You go, okay, you're trying to be elusive. You clearly
love this woman. You called in to tell her happy birthday.
Where's she from? She's from downtown, Okay, downtown okay.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
And what's so special about Xena?
Speaker 4 (03:22):
She does a real one. She keeps hear the buck,
She tells you where you're wrong. Do that?
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (03:28):
I like it. This was cute because it felt like,
you know, you don't normally do things like this exactly.
All right, people, thank you for calling. She must be
a very special woman, all right, take care?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
All right. Well, that would shine a light.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
And you know what else we're going to do when
we come back for yet, We are going to shine
a light on Detroit.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
A lot happened over the weekend in the D and
we'll give you some of those details. Some of it
has to do with music, and of course I mean
sports as well, all right, and I can always leave
a message for last word.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
Going turn out with Angela yee.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
They in the rooms from industry shade to all of
gossip out.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Angela's spiling that, all right.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
It's way up with Angela Yee.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
I'm Angela Yee flying solo today with your yee tea
and let's started off in Detroit. It was a big
weekend in Detroit. Four two Doug had his hometown show
and he brought out a lot of special guests and
also squashed beef with some of his rap years. So
some of the people that he had come out, Yo Gotti,
Meek mil Little Baby, Little Dirk, Geezy, Glorilla, Guilly, the Kidd,
(04:35):
and Wallow and more. He also had Dough Boys, Cash
and Team Eastside come on stage and stand in unity.
There was this long standing beef between the two different groups,
and so that's a huge deal. So we love to
see things like that, and a lot of times people think, oh,
a hip hop concert, so many different artists, something's gonna happen.
But fortunately nothing went wrong, nothing went down, and that's
(04:59):
a big deal. That's for two Doug's first public appearance. Well,
that was Yogatti's first public appearance at four two Doug
show since his brother A Big Joke was murdered too.
By the way I saw, people were saying he had
on a bulletproof vessels under his shirt under his shirt,
but we don't know that to be a fact, but
people were speculating. But that has to be hard for
Yogatti too, to be able to work after something like that.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
That's dan Our producer agreeing, all right.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
And also in Detroit, the Lions, Oh my goodness, this
is going to be their first time advancing to the
NFC Championship Game since nineteen ninety one, So congratulations to
them for everybody who put money on the Detroit Lions.
They are going on to play against San Francisco on
Sunday and that is gonna perhaps.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Lead to the Super Bowl. What are your thoughts? Would
you bet on the Lions?
Speaker 5 (05:47):
Uh? No, not against the Niners.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
That's a tough one. Niners are like, but anything can happen, absolutely,
and the Lions are playing incredibly.
Speaker 8 (05:53):
Jamier Gibbs played out of his mind yesterday.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Yeah, so imagine that. So we're excited for that. And
then also the Baltimore Ravens. You know, they actually are
the first NFL team to have an all black quarterback room.
There was talk about that last year and that's a
huge deal. So shout out to them. Also, all right,
Chris Brown, Quavo Gunna, and I DK. They were all
in Paris for fashion week. That is a time to
(06:17):
be outside.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
You know.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Farrell of course was there too, and there I guess
was some seating where Chris Brown was sitting uh, you know,
right next to Quavo, and he posted on social media.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Can't pick who you sit by at all?
Speaker 3 (06:31):
That growth ish, he said, And we're not going to
fumble my bag for little n words. So I guess
the beef that they had previously has still not been squashed.
This has been going on since twenty twenty one, and
so I guess with Chris Brown squashed beef.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Before though over allegedly.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
Yeah, yeah, that's what this was over. But he has
had beef that he squashed previously. But Chris Brown said
on the stories they knew who not to ask for
on that two on two basketball, I would have cooked
Quavo and Jack on my soul. I guess they wanted
to smoke free Zone. This was in twenty twenty one,
and Queva said Chris Brown ate cooking and called next
end word and then there was you know, all kinds
(07:11):
of things.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
But it's all about peace right now.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
And speaking of people piecing things up, Oh my goodness,
everybody is talking about Nelly and a shanty still and
Fat Joe is saying that he deserves some credit for
the two of them actually getting back together. You know,
they had the verses they saw each other for the
first time. Nelly made a beeline. It looked like for
a shanty. Here's what fat Jo had to sing on
(07:34):
his life.
Speaker 6 (07:35):
So the other day is Shanti Face signed me with
Nelly and I told immediately told him I need ten
percent of this kid, because if it wasn't for verses that.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
I brought Nelly out me against Joah Rule.
Speaker 6 (07:48):
That's when they saw each other and that energy connected again.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
That's when he said, I gotta have it all right.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Fajo also said there's no baby on the way, but
they are living happily ever after. I don't know what's
true and what's not, but there you have it all right.
Well that's your yet and when we come back, we
have about last night. That's where we discussed what we
did last night, and I'm gonna tell you I was.
You know, I had a good time last night. If
you look at my stories, you can see where I was.
But I'm gonna talk about it. And when we come back,
it's way up night.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
So about last.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Night, last night, last nights.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
That I went down, it's way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
I'm Angela ye, and it's time for about last night. Now,
my producer Dan is here with me today, good morning.
And last night I went to go see The Lion
King on Broadway again. This is my second time going
to see it, but this was a really special time
also because coach Jesse, who you guys know from up here.
She has the fast and the detox. Now she actually
(08:46):
her daughter Nia is starring in the play. Authentic Nia
is her Instagram page as young Nala.
Speaker 8 (08:52):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
How she do amazing?
Speaker 3 (08:55):
She did great, and like everybody in the cast, if
you never have you ever seen The.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Lion King on Broadway?
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Yes, actually years ago, it's been actually twenty six years
since that started. But not only did we go see
the play, and I just want to encourage anybody who's
ever in New York when you're here, go to Broadway
because there's nothing like it, you know, just the experience
of being in the audience. Erica Alexander was with us
also and Steffie Bloom. And Steffie Bloom is also Nia's
(09:22):
voice coach, but she coaches a lot of huge stars
as well, and so just being there with them. Erica,
this was her first time seeing The Lion King. And
I will say this, while we were there, yesterday, we
had a tour backstage, which I've never done before on Broadway.
So we got a chance to walk through, see all
of the costumes and see the whole stage set in
(09:43):
everything like up close and personal. But you coudn't touch anything,
which you shouldn't, but we had an opportunity to do that.
And when I tell you, Erica is like, you know
what she's done off Broadway. We all know her from
acting in movies and in sitcoms, but she hasn't done Broadway.
And now that is like she's proclaiming it.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
That it's battery in her back.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
It definitely was, and she is perfect for Broadway. So
I can't wait to see what she ends up in
because I feel like it's for sure gonna happen. But
shout out to Albert who played a young Simba. Also,
the two of them gave us a tour Young Simba
and Young Knowledge gave us a tour backstage. I'm gonna
post some video from it so you guys can see.
They asked you not to post the costumes to now
ruin it for people who haven't seen it yet, but
(10:26):
we were able to, you know, post some other things.
So I just want to thank them for an amazing
time going out to Broadway seeing the Lion King, people
crying in the audience, people laughing, people dancing.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
It is really a vibe. One day, I'm gonna watch
the movie. I was just gonna ask.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
I still have not.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Seen the movie. And when I told Nia I haven't
seen it, she was like, what is wrong with you?
The original one?
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Just like, yeah, the original one. Everybody says that is
an issue. And I told her, I said, listen, little girl,
I'm grown, okay, And that movie came out and I.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Was grown, never too old to see it, But you're right, I'm.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Gonna watch it one day. It'd be on the plane too.
I'm always like, should I do it today? Then I
end up watching a horror movie. But in the meantime,
when we come back, that was about last night. When
we come back, we have tell us a secret eight
hundred two nine two fifty one fifty. A lot of
people call up and then get cold feet, and so
Mano's not here today, So no reason to get cold feet.
No one's here to judge you, no one's here to
(11:17):
be like, what's ramin to you? No one's here to
force you to be a legend. Eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty. Call us up and tell us
a secret. It's way up.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
This is a judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (11:31):
It's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee. And
this is a segment that y'all love to hate. Okay.
Eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty. Tell us
a secret. It's no judgment today at all. And you
get to remain anonymous. Eight hundred two nine two fifty
one fifty, Hello anonymous, call it what's your secret?
Speaker 9 (11:50):
So when I was about eighteen years old, this individual
recorded me against my con son. I didn't even know
what's happening, and he posted it and it got around
thirty million views. And I found out about two years ago.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Wow that's a crime.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
Yeah it is.
Speaker 9 (12:08):
And I don't know what to do about it.
Speaker 7 (12:09):
And now he's rich man.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
So have you gotten it taken down? It's a secret
for a reason.
Speaker 9 (12:16):
I don't even want it to be up. I don't
know how to pick it down though.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Oh if I was you, I would hire a lawyer.
Speaker 10 (12:22):
I hire a lawyer.
Speaker 9 (12:23):
Then more people find out for real, that know me.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
Have you ever run into anybody that you know who's
seen it?
Speaker 9 (12:30):
Honestly, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
Okay, nobody has said anything to you, but you feel
like maybe people are talking about it.
Speaker 9 (12:36):
I feel like maybe it could be of any that
people know about.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Well, listen, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You
did nothing wrong.
Speaker 9 (12:45):
She's wiser, that's what they said.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
All right, Well, I wish you luck with that, but
thank you for sharing that secret with us.
Speaker 9 (12:51):
For sure, for sure, have a good day.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
All right, you too, Hey, anonymous Colin, how are you?
Speaker 4 (12:57):
I'm fine.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
You want to tell us a secret?
Speaker 10 (13:00):
Yeah, I ready called you angelus. This is the lady
that was baking the two deacons in church, and I
was married to one of them. Yep, I across the
line with the other deacons. He's catching feelings and now
I'm feeling some type away because I'm feeling out in
church like he's something up the side watching me and
(13:20):
looking at me and stuff, and I don't know what
to do.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
So you cross the line, but you only crossed the
line one time, and now you don't want to do
it anymore, or you're enjoying the secrecy of it and
being in church with him looking at you.
Speaker 10 (13:33):
No, he's making me feel some type of way because
there was just supposed to be a life of sneaking
lank because I wasn't getting that attention from my husband.
But it's like he wanted to go birthday and I don't.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
You think your husband's gonna find out?
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Not a back of heaven.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
You better pray on it.
Speaker 10 (13:53):
Help me pray please?
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Oh my goodness, you ever think about confessing?
Speaker 4 (13:58):
You ever think about.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Confessing to your husband?
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (14:01):
No, maybe you should switch churches.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
We need to, he needs to. All right, Well, listen,
things get a little messy, so let us know how
this plays out.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Call me back.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
I sure will.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
It's like a soap opera.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
All right?
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Well that was tell us a secret eight hundred two
nine fifty in case you couldn't get through.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
We still definitely want to hear from you.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
You can leave a message for last word and when
we come back, we have your yet, and let's talk
about Tasha. Kay Carti B and Kevin Hard are having
some issues with her finances and what they want her
to do. We'll talk about it on Yet when we
come back.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
It's way up.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Oh, she's about to blow the lid off this spot.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Let's get it, oh angelus feeling that yea.
Speaker 5 (14:40):
Te come and get to see what up.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
It's way up with Angela.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
YEA, Happy Monday, everybody, and it's time for semi yet.
Now let's talk about legal issues. Carti B is saying
that Tasha Kay has a secret offshore account and has
filed for bankruptcy, but they want to make sure that
she discloses everything that she has is actually illegal if
she did not disclose these offshore accounts that allegedly Cardi
(15:05):
B feels like she might have, so in case that
does happen, and if they are able to prove that
she did not disclose the full extent of her assets,
she could face additional fines and a federal prison sentence
of up to five years. That's according to hip hop
dx now. In other Tashak news, Kevin Hart is asking
a court to grant him a temporary restraining order. He
(15:25):
wants Tachak to take down the video of her interview
with his ex assistant Maisha Shakes, where she alleges, well,
he's alleging it was full of defamatory claims. He said
that he and his reputation and career were on the
line due to that interview, so you know. Kevin Hart
is also saying that before Tasha k posted the video
(15:47):
on her YouTube channel, somebody from her team reached out
to his team and offered to not post it in
exchange for two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, and he
refused to pay that fee, and instead he then called
the police. See how both of these situations play out.
All right, and some cute news. Common and Jennifer Hudson
have made their romance that we all know about because
(16:09):
we done seeing them sit in court side holding hands
out and about together.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
They both from Chicago.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
They've made their romance official on her talk show, What
better place to do it? He came as a guest,
he had flowers, and here's what happened.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Are you dating anyone?
Speaker 1 (16:24):
Yes, I'm in a relationship that is one of the
most beautiful people I ever met.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
But I set my stand up kind of high.
Speaker 2 (16:32):
Because he had to have a he got you had
to get our own talk show.
Speaker 11 (16:35):
Oh okay, yeah, So wait, what about you though?
Speaker 4 (16:40):
How is your love life? I'm dating this woman.
Speaker 5 (16:43):
I am very happy.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Are you happy in your relationship?
Speaker 5 (16:46):
Yes, this relationship is a happy place.
Speaker 9 (16:49):
Woo.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
All right, well that's cute or whatever. And I'm not
gonna lie though, you know what my first thought was.
And my producer Darren is standing here looking like he
wants to cry. It's so sweet. I was, all right,
Carti B and Ruby Rose. They aren't only fans. But
as we all know, OnlyFans content is not always explicit.
(17:10):
And one person that does not like the fact that
he's subscribing is fred O Bang. He's calling them out
for having content that he did not sign up for.
Here's what he had to say about it.
Speaker 11 (17:21):
I subri called it. I subscribed Ruby Rose, I subscribed
to Enchants, and I described to there could be banks,
Elisa Skat the double Dose Twans. I just subscribed to
all these mothers.
Speaker 5 (17:34):
I think you might have a problem.
Speaker 7 (17:36):
I have a problem.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
All those got problems? All right. That was time with
Bootleg keV. When I talked to him too.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
He also was telling us how he supports people by
subscribing to.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Their only fans. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
That was on Lift Service and so yeah, you know,
I don't know what he thinks he's going to see,
but that's I always tell people. Just start the paging
and even got to post nothing. Get that cash all right.
Fredo Bang also said while he was sitting down with
Blad TV that Rod Wave has ignored him recently.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
Here's why road Wave.
Speaker 8 (18:04):
You had gone on Instagram saying that he stopped texting
you because he became best friends with Can't be a
Young Boy.
Speaker 11 (18:12):
But now I got mad love for rod Waves. My
only problem with him, like we were cool, feeling like
we just stayed we live on the phone three four
hours just talking about life.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
Yeah, but now he doesn't hit you back anymore.
Speaker 11 (18:23):
Yeah, you know, I'm not gonna expose out the nature
of our conversation with what we talked about, but it's
some things that we didn't talked about that he didn't
went again and he just got weird on me. But
I mean, I understand.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
All right, spelling it all And that is your e
T when we come back, we have under the radar.
These are the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines.
They may be flying under the radar, and if you're
an only child or you have one child, this may
impact you when you hear this story and under the
radar it's way up.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
It's in the news that relates to you these stories
are flying under the radar.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
It's way up with angela Ye.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
I'm angela Ye, and it's time for under the radar,
the stories that are maybe not in the headlines, but
you need to know about. Now, let's talk about being
an only child. Okay, so only children are not necessarily
more narcissistic. It all depends on the parenting style and
social interactions. But only children also have the potential for success,
but have some unique challenges like teamwork. They're not used
(19:17):
to working with a team, and I've noticed that about
only only children.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
They also don't like to share.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
As much because they're probably not used to it and
coping with being raised as the center of the world.
That can also have long term consequences if they're given
whatever they want them With those children, they see a
lot of failure to thrive, so they have a hard
time functioning on a team as well.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
I mean, it all makes sense and when you think
about it.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
Now, let's talk about wallet hub and the study that
they did as far as the best places to retire
and the worst places to retire. Number one best place
to retire Florida and this is all for financial reasons.
Number two is Colorado, three is Virginia, four is Della
Where five is Wyoming, six is Idaho, seven is New Hampshire,
(20:03):
eight Minnesota, nine Montana, and number ten on the list
is Pennsylvania. As far as the worst places to retire,
number one on the list is Kentucky, which I did
not anticipate, right Damn. My producer is shaking his head
like I'm surprised with that. Number two is New Jersey
property taxes. I was just talking this morning about how
high property taxes are in New Jersey. Number three is
(20:27):
Mississippi worst place to retire. Number four is Rhode Island.
Number five is Oklahoma, followed by Louisiana. New York is
number seven on the list, followed by Washington, Arkansas, and
then Illinois. So when it comes to your money, according
to wallet hub, those are the best and worst places
to retire when you think about your retirement savings and
(20:47):
tax rates and things like that. Also healthcare, the healthcare
system and activities, those are all taken into consideration, all right.
And as we're getting ready for elections and these conversations
are happening, there is a fake Joe Biden robo call
that is telling New Hampshire Democrats not to vote on Tuesday,
all right. According to reports, the voice is familiar. It's
(21:10):
an imitation of Joe Biden. It's a digital manipulation of
his voice, and the message is saying it's important that
you save your vote for the November election. Voting this
Tuesday only enables the Republicans in their quest to elect
Donald Trump again. Your vote makes a difference in November,
not this Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
If you get a robo call.
Speaker 3 (21:27):
That is telling you not to vote, ever, I would
never pay attention to something like that. Why would anybody
tell you to sit down and that your vote doesn't matter.
That's what we call voter suppression, when people believe that
their vote doesn't matter. It's so important for us to
make sure that our voices are heard and that we're educated.
So that's happening in New Hampshire. You can only imagine
other places are going.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
To follow suits.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
All right, Well, that is you're under the radar. You know,
we got the way of Mixed coming at the top
of the hour plus. She is trending right now on
social media. Candice from Real Housewives a Potomac is going
to be joining us. And we had a good time
telling it all. It's way up with Angela Ye.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Let's go way.
Speaker 9 (22:05):
She's like to talk like they Angelie Jean, like they
Angelie Jee Man.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
She's spilling it all. This is yeat, way off.
Speaker 9 (22:16):
Lo.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
It's way up at Angela ye, Angela yee and let's
get into some yet, all right, Meek Mill, They were
roasting him online for something he wrote on Twitter, but
we want to clarify what it was that he actually meant.
He said, do a lot of people play my music
in South Africa? I remember having a big show there
a few years back. How do you listen to our
music in South Africa on what platform? Or in Nigeria?
(22:38):
And then people felt like he thought maybe they didn't
have music platforms there, So they were responding, we send
birds to America to memorize songs and have them sing
it to us when we gather at the village square.
But a lot of people made sarcastic remarks. But then
Meek Mill responded and said, I was asking how they
listened to music in Africa because I want to handle
my business. None of my contracts they have rights to
(23:00):
distribute me in Africa, Basically looking for the money trail.
I don't know what platforms used in South Africa l ol.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
So he was asking a specific.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Question and I guess it didn't translate well on social media.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
All right. Now, let's talk about Kenjack Lamar. He has joined.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
Forces with Chanel and on Saturdays, I released a mini
movies starring Margaret Qualley and it's also soundtrack by Kendrick
and Day Free.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
And here's what that sounds like.
Speaker 8 (23:36):
I'm moving, i'manding through tapping, then on pair temporary pleasures running.
Not a few to see this in that it is impossible.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
All right.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
My producer Dan is over here. Groove into it. Naomi
Campbell's in it as well. It's written and directed by
Dave Free shout out to Day Free and scored by
Kendrick Lamar, service by pg Lange.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
What'd you think, Dan? I want to hear the verse
before I make any real comments on it, okay. So
from what you heard, you have nothing I mean that
you want to comment on. That's just sound okay? All
right now.
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Kenya Barris was talking to Variety Studio presented by Audible
at the Sundance Film Festival and he gave some updates.
He has three high profile new projects that are happening.
So back in twenty twenty, he announced that he's directing
a biopic on Richard Pryor, one of the most influential
comedians of all time, that is actually going to be
(24:36):
a television series, right, so he announced it's a ten
part limited biographical series that takes a look from cradle
to grave. He also talked about two classic films that
he's updating, The Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
And It's a Wonderful Life. Here's what he had to say.
Speaker 12 (24:51):
Wizard of Oz. For me, it happens I'm from Inglewood.
It happens from a girl who listen to the Bottoms,
which is Darby Park, which is a part of Inglewood.
The original Wizard Ross took place in the Great Depression.
You know, it's about self reliance of what people are
going through. I think this is a perfect time to
sort of like switch up the characters and talk about
what someone imagines their life could be. It's ultimately a
hero starning. Someone thinks something is better than where they're at,
(25:13):
and they go and realize and where they're at is
where they should be.
Speaker 3 (25:17):
All right, And he said he wants people to be
proud and happy of where they're from. Now, let's talk
about these iHeartRadio Music Awards nominations. Twenty one Savage and
Siza are at the top of the list of nominees
with eight each, so congratulations to them, respectively. So you
know some of the big ones. Let's see what you
(25:38):
guys think about this. There's a lot of nominees, Yeah,
there is in some of these categories, if you guys
have a chance to take a look. But hip Hop
Artists of the Year, all right in the room, who
would you give it to? Twenty one Savage, Drake, Future,
Gunna or Little Dirt, no women?
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Who would you give it to? My bias, says Future.
But I feel like twenty one one had a great year.
Speaker 5 (26:01):
What about you? What do you think.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
I would say? I would say Gonna had a great
comeback year. But I don't know if I would give
him hip Hop Artists of the Year because he did
overcome a lot of odds of what people had to say.
I feel like Drake might win this too, where a
lot of people are Drake biases also, So all right,
well that is your yee t And you know when
(26:25):
we come back, we have asked yee eight hundred two
ninety two fifty one fifty is a number any question
that you might have. We are here, well, I'm here
today just me to help you out. But in the meantime,
this will help you out too, with your vibes. On
a Monday, here's times with free mind. It's way up,
It's relationship for Kreer Advice. Angela's dropping facts.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
You should know if this is as what's up?
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Its way up.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
But Angela Yee, I'm Angela Yee on a Monday, and
it's time for ask yee. Eight hundred two ninety two
fifty one fifty is the number. And of course we
also take voicemails in case you couldn't get through. While
the phone lines are open, you can still a voicemail,
or you can go on the iHeartRadio app and click
that on microphone in the corner and you can also
leave a message that way and we will still get it.
(27:07):
So today we have a question from an anonymous caller
on our voicemail.
Speaker 7 (27:11):
I had a three year of fare. I ended up
getting pregnant, I had a baby. He ended up leaving
a wife for a brief amount of time, he moved
in with me, then he got back with the wife.
It completely cut me and the baby off, so I
put him on child support. So now he says that
he's completely not in the picture and child support is
(27:34):
my only support and he doesn't even pay it.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
So what should I do?
Speaker 2 (27:39):
All right? Well, one thing I don't know from this message.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
I'm not an attorney, But I also don't know what
state she's in, so I don't know what the laws
are regarding child support when somebody's not paying in her
particular state. Sometimes they make you pay more until the
arrears are paid off. But I would say a couple
of things here. It's very unfortunate that he is not
trying to take care of his kid. Regardless of what
happened between you and him, this is still his responsibility
(28:05):
and at some point in his life he's going to
regret it. So I'm very sorry that he doesn't understand
that he has to be able to separate what your
relationship is with him between his and his relationship with
his kid. And we also don't know if the woman
he's with has an issue with him seeing his child
because she doesn't want him to see you. So a
(28:26):
couple of things I want to take into consideration.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
As a mom.
Speaker 3 (28:30):
Are you doing what you need to do to make
it convenient for him to be able to see his kid?
But you did say that he's upset about paying child
support and now he's threatening to not see his child.
You know, my thing is, people act glad. Child support
is the worst thing in the world at all times.
A woman is the devil for putting you on child support.
But if that's the only way that I can get
support for our child, then yes, that is what has
(28:52):
to happen. You got yourself in that situation by not
handling your responsibility. Sometimes the best way to mediate is
to have the to be involved. With that being said,
it's damn thear impossible to force somebody to see their child.
The only thing that I can encourage you to do
is if you have a relationship with his parents, you know,
your child's grandparents or anybody else, to try to make
(29:15):
sure the child is somewhat involved and knows that side
of the family, because at the end of the day,
you don't want your child to grow up and feel
like that side doesn't care about them, that side didn't
want them just because the father is a pos And
so I just recommend that whatever you can do if
you're sending pictures, you're sending updates, you're communicating, even if
it's on social media, Facebook or whatever, so that that
(29:37):
child can know her cousins, can know whoever else is
in the family, so later on they don't feel that
gap and hopefully things will get better after time. You know,
maybe you can even suggest some type of co parenting
mediation so that it's best for the child. But the
main thing is forget the fact that he's not with you.
He left, he did whatever he did. It's about your
(29:58):
child and not one of your child to grow up
feeling some type of sense of something's missing or they
weren't wanted or abandonment, if that's possible, and if it's
not possible and he doesn't want to participate in any way,
all you can do is be the best mom that
you can be and make sure that you don't bad
mouth the dad, make sure that you don't make your
child feel less, and make sure you're not always blaming
(30:21):
him for things so that your child ends up feeling resentful.
That is nothing that a child should have to have
the burden of bearing. And that's the advice that I
would give you. But we are going to be talking
about child supports this week, and we do have some
experts coming, so maybe you should tune in for that.
And that is your ask, yee eight hundred two nine
fifty one fifty. In case you couldn't get through, you
(30:42):
can always leave a message and we'll answer your call,
just like we did today. When we come back, we
have Candice Dialer back to joining us from Real Housewives
of Potomac. And you know this is about to be
a spicy conversation.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
It's way up, turn out you vib it way up
with Angela Yee more.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
Now what's up?
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Its way up with Angela Ye. I'm Angela Yee And
Candace is here.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Hello, good morning thing this afternoon. Yes, good day, Yeah,
good day.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Candace Diller Bassett is here from Real Housewives of Potomac.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
I didn't even need to say your phone name. We
just know you as Candace.
Speaker 13 (31:15):
I like just Candas Okay, that's my brand is moving
toward just Candace.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Just Candace.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
All right, Well, first of all, you got a lot
going on? Yes, well, let's set off with your husband, Chris.
You guys went through a lot, I feel like on
the show as far as people looking at your relationship,
thinking that he was cheating on you and that he
had gotten a whole other woman. So yeah, and then
come to find out the whole thing somebody made up.
(31:41):
Oh my god, today write a story and people really
did not believe you or believe him. Was there a
time that you didn't believe him because this woman said
these things? And I think as a woman, even though
we you know, some strangers saying something, yeah, but as
a woman, sometimes you're liked.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Couldn't that be potentially Yeah? No, I could see that.
Speaker 13 (32:01):
I could see how someone who's not in my situation
could look at it and think whom. I wonder if
she ever considered it this was true. It was just
so preposterous because I know my husband. I have to
beg him to take me to dinner. He'll make me
dinner at home, or he wants to like stay around
the house. He's a homebody. So you mean to tell
(32:21):
me this man got on a flight and flew to
wherever this lady was to repeatedly have sexy time with
her and get her pregnant. I can't get him on
a flight. He didn't have a passport until I met him. Wow,
And there were just so many preposterous bullet points that
just made it untrue.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Did you ever think about suing for defamation or even
just to make a point, because I don't know if
she would have any exactly.
Speaker 13 (32:48):
I mean, yes, for a second, we did, but we're
not litigious people at all.
Speaker 2 (32:53):
Like, I don't like the law to get somebody forcing
me to exactly. So that's just not our thing.
Speaker 13 (33:02):
And there have been many opportunities where we could have
entertained suing lots of different people for deformation, and it's
just for what it's like, it's disturbing our peace.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Right now, we're talking to Candice Diller Bassett from Real
Housewives epotomac. All right, so maybe the most hurtful thing
was how the other women on the show reacted.
Speaker 4 (33:22):
For sure.
Speaker 13 (33:23):
Shout out to the Two Broke Girls podcast love y'all
to Death. Yeah, they took the opportunity to make it
a to make it a moment for content for their show.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
And you and Robin had had a pretty good relationship. Yeah,
up until then. It feels like Robin's very defensive, incredibly
with the situation with her husband. She doesn't really want
to talk about it and address it now that that's
her husband again. Wow. Yes, but it feels like she
has a lot of things that maybe she's not dealing
with and then it's hard for her to hear about
(33:56):
it from other people.
Speaker 13 (33:57):
Yes, I do think that we don't know everything. I
wasn't looking for Robin to tell us all her business.
I only took issue when she decided to wait and
hold this information for Patreon. For Patreon, when you paid
on this show to talk about your life on this
(34:17):
show and you watched your friend drag my husband through
the mud for a lie and you had a real
situation going on, that was my issue, and I tweeted
about it.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
And that's the thing that keeps on getting brought up.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
And actually, on this last episode, you and Robin sat down,
we did and talked about your tweets and how she
had an issue with you going to Twitter to discuss
what's happening, and so let's talk about that and what
your thoughts are in response to what she felt cold
You shouldn't have done that. That's something you could have,
(34:53):
you know, brought onto the show and said those things
to her instead of taking it to Twitter.
Speaker 13 (34:57):
I stand by what I said, and I just feel
like she's using it as a way to, I think,
distract from the issue, which is that you betrayed your cast.
You betrayed the people that pay you to talk about
your life.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
They were people who really felt like she shouldn't be
on the show anymore.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
I remember Andy Cohen being really upset with her.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Everybody was yes, but you were still willing to work
things out with her.
Speaker 13 (35:22):
Yes, because I have always maintained, even in the face
of the cast and the audience for years saying that
you know, Robin should be fired. She's born, she shouldn't
be here. I've always maintained that Robin was valuable to
our cast. So I never felt like she should be fired.
I still have never advocated for her to be fired.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Is there anybody you feel like should go? Yes, this
is what I will say.
Speaker 13 (35:49):
I think that we can't resolve issues when we're the
ones that start the issues.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Then maybe we should have a scene.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
It's way up with the Angela yee and and it's
still at Bassett is here for Real Housewives a Potomac.
We just finished talking about Robin, But when we come back,
let's find out what's going on with Candicce and Giselle
it's way up, fab way up.
Speaker 5 (36:10):
With Angela ye. More. Now what's up?
Speaker 3 (36:13):
It's way up with Angela yee. I'm talking to Candace
from Real Housewives a Potomac. Now, Candace, what's going on
with you and Gizelle? Do you see any way forward?
Like for you guys to ever if she were to
come to you and apologize but that mattered to.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
You, Yeah, that's all it takes.
Speaker 13 (36:29):
If she wanted to be a woman and be a
grown woman and come to me and finally say what
her true issue is and apologize and walk back the
heinous and disgusting things she said about my husband, I
would entertain a cordial relationship with her. What do you
think her true issue is?
Speaker 2 (36:50):
You have to ask her. You have no idea?
Speaker 13 (36:52):
Is there any I have an idea, but it's not
it's not for me to say.
Speaker 3 (36:56):
Now you've also said you feel like they're trying to
ice you off the show.
Speaker 13 (37:00):
So I didn't see it until mister Kingdom Reign Entertainment.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
Carlos king saw Hey, Carlos, until he did that very
well thought out YouTube live about it.
Speaker 13 (37:16):
And you know, I can't say that I disagree with
some of the motives. I did say in one episode
of Austin when I was sitting with Karen and neck rolls,
that it was clear to me then that she was
in a space where if she did not acknowledge me
(37:37):
that I would go away. That was a code, that
was code for saying she was trying to ee me out.
I don't want to accuse anyone else of jumping on
that bandwagon, but it does feel like she thinks that
she has the power to remove me from the show,
right and just like you know, I can't call Andy
(37:58):
Cohen and tell him to fire Robin.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
She doesn't have that power.
Speaker 13 (38:01):
I don't know who gave her the impression that she does,
but it's whack that you are so unable to own
your poor behavior that you would now result to this
pearl clutching and victimization of yourself instead of just saying
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Right now, we're talking to Candice Diller Bassett from Real
Housewives epotomac. You know what else I love about and
this is why they couldn't ice you out anyway. Your
singing career, I mean that has been so special for you,
just to see everything take off the way that it has.
First of all, you really could sing, and the fact
that you'll sing on the spot if Nicki Mina said,
(38:41):
oh my god, don't remind me, yes, I mean that,
which was incredible to see her sitting there, and the
fact that she's such a fan of the franchise. I
feel like y'all got to figure it out, right, you
know what I mean, Like y'all have got to figure
it out the whole cast. But just to be able
to see you sing and and even at your Mother's
Day event that you had, yes, your quick dedication to
(39:05):
everybody there was a beautiful but also the success that
you've had going on tour, thank you. So congratulations. I
want to make sure we definitely acknowledge that.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Thank you.
Speaker 13 (39:15):
Yeah, it's been a whirlwind. It's been like a dream
come true.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Tamar Braxton. Yeah, he did some dates, Hey.
Speaker 13 (39:23):
Tamor So, I was only supposed to do the DC
show and I ended up doing like four or five dates.
I know that felt amazing it those were some sold
out shows, they were she.
Speaker 2 (39:31):
Sold out every show.
Speaker 13 (39:33):
She's like a girl's girl, like she really wants to
make sure that everyone around her is good, is taken
care of. She really likes my set, which is like
so nice.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
I love that.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
Thanks.
Speaker 13 (39:44):
Yeah, no, she's she was awesome.
Speaker 3 (39:46):
Well, I want to thank you so much for coming through.
You know, I had to make sure I saw my girl, Candice.
Well you're in New York, and just congratulations on everything.
I'm gonna be following and watching what happens as the
season plays out.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Is everything filmed already?
Speaker 13 (39:58):
Everything's done except the reunion reunion is coming up soon.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
How you feeling. I'm ready.
Speaker 13 (40:05):
I'm ready to say, you know, I stay riddy to
say what I got you and Ashley. I think that
might have been one of the most classic reunion moments,
talking about your mom helping you with you oh and
then yes, yeah, that was a classic moment.
Speaker 2 (40:17):
I think forever that goes down in reunion history.
Speaker 13 (40:22):
Facts are more interesting new fiction. When is the reunion
game being filmed soon? I can't say when, okay, but
it's it's coming up.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
All right.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Well, thank you so much again, Candace. I really do
appreciate you. I'm gonna be watching. Yes, let me know
your thoughts. I certainly will. I might have to take
to Twitter.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
Yes, okay, come join me, Come be a disaster with you, to.
Speaker 3 (40:43):
Be a disaster with you, I'm gonna go retweet some
candae stuff. Yes, yes, please all right, make sure y'all

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Ye. What's up? It's way up with Angela yee. I'm

Speaker 3 (41:11):

on a Monday. Monday used to not be my favorite
day of the week, but now I love it because
I enjoy it coming to work. So for you guys,

get up and be like, oh, I don't feel like
doing this. I got this, that, and this to do.
But now you can look at it and say, today
is another day to have an opportunity to make things
(41:32):
amazing and handle some business because nothing fails better than
when you check things off that to do list. In
the meantime, thank you so much to Candice from Real
Housewives at Potomac for joining us.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
That full interview is available.
Speaker 3 (41:44):
On my YouTube channel, so feel free to subscribe and
go watch Way Up with Ye And of course the
show is all about you, guys. Eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty is a number. Anything that you
want to say for last word, y'all wrap it up.
Speaker 4 (41:58):
A slip with my third wife after I was the
best man in his wedding, and since then, I have
distanced myself from my father because I feel ashamed for
having sex with his wife on numerous occasions. I hate
him being being with it.
Speaker 9 (42:14):
Hey, I'd like to shine a light on Barker's McDonald.
Speaker 5 (42:16):
He is a peer recovery sessionist and you the addiction medicine,
and he is just an amazing man.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
He goes out every day to try to help others.
Speaker 5 (42:25):
Even on the weekend when he's not at.
Speaker 11 (42:26):
Work, he goes out and try to help others.
Speaker 2 (42:28):
And I just want to shine a light on him
and tell him a good job and keep up with
good work marks.
Speaker 5 (42:33):
He's going way out out with Angela Yee
