And we got yet coming up. Let's talk about the
b ET Hip Hop Awards. The nominees have been announced.
It's the way up at Angela Ye.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
She's like the talk like a Angela Jean like they

is here, no man no woopoop. And let's talk about the.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
B ET Hip Hop Awards first up.
Speaker 2 (06:29):
And yet the nominees have been announced, all right, so
leading the pack with twelve nominations each, Cardi B and
twenty one Savage Okay okay Drake has nine nominations, and
then DJ Khaled and Burna Boy have seven nominations each,
So of course one of the main things that people
want to know about is who is going to be
hip Hop Artists of the Year and who had the
(06:51):
hip Hop album of the Year. All right, So hip
Hop Artists of the Year twenty one Savage, Burna Boy,
Cardi B. Drake, Glorilla, j Cole, Kendrick Lamar, or Little
Uzi Bert.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
There's a lot of nominees, by the way, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Seven, two, four, six, eight eight people.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yeah, so out of those who you think will miss
yeah for hip Hop Artists of the Year, two women
nominated out of it.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Cardium just off the line, uh.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
You can't say yes.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
The song says I know, but not on the radio
all right, clean version. This is the first time we've
had to dump Maino. Okay, so okay, you think that,
but that just came out. So I don't know if
that qualifies because Bongos just came out, but it qualified
because when they made these nominees, the song wasn't.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Even out yet, so it's not going to be part
in that.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
I think it has to do with everything before this,
because she did have some great collapse this year.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
If you think about it, right, So Fenny the rapper to.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
My glorilla, right right right, it would be more about
that now hip Hop Album of the Year anyways, Life's
Great Glorilla, Coyla Ray God, did DJ Khaled, Her Loss
Drake and twenty one Savage Heroes and Villains, Metro Booman,
jack Man, Jack Harlow, Pink Tape, lit Uzi or Traumazine,
Meganis Stallion.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
Those are the nominees for Hip Hop Album of the Year.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
I feel like some other nominees are missing from here,
but I gotta think through it and see.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
But those are the nominees, you know.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
So that's it. That's the whole Beautyward.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Well no, no, there's a lot more, but I'm just
giving you some of the top top categories. So that's it,
all right, So get ready for that the Hip Hop Awards.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
I feel like we'll be out there this year.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
But it's gonna October tenth is when it's gonna air,
all right.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Now.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Naomi Osaka has returned to the US Open. She did
not go to play tennis though you know, she just
had a baby. She actually went to do a panel
a discussion about mental health with Michael Phelps, so that's
what she was there for. And she did say, remember
she took a break from tennis. She was having issues
with depression and anxiety. She withdrew from the French Open
in twenty twenty one, and then she took some extended
(09:04):
breaks and then she had a baby. Well, here's what
she had to say on ESPN about when she's going
to be returning to play.
Speaker 11 (09:10):
It's definitely way more tournaments than I used to play,
so I think some people will be happy with that.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Why are you playing more tournaments than before?
Speaker 11 (09:19):
Honestly, I think it's because I realized, like I don't
know how the beginning of the year is going to
go for me, Like I don't know the level of play,
and I think I kind of.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Have to ease into it.
Speaker 11 (09:29):
So at the very least, I'm gonna set myself up
for a very good play end of the year.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
All Right.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
We look forward to her return, and I remember how
controversial it was when she decided to withdrawn. People had
nasty things to say, but at the end of it all,
you have to do what's best for you, absolutely, and
she'd be coming back and playing in even more tournaments
than before.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
All right, Rihanna and Asat Rocky.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Their second child's name has been reveiled according to the
birth certificate that the Blast obtained.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
I feel like this is like that, right.
Speaker 12 (10:00):
I know you do.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I told somebody last night, I like that name.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Yeah, right, I know you love it?
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Yeah, I mean I feel like your.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Name Riot, Riot Rose Mayors. I do feel like it's
a violation to obtain some child's birth certific ate posting
before they get to rid the No, No, the Blast
got the birth certificate. I didn't even know that was
like available for people to get like that, because I
kind of feel like, you don't want to let the
(10:28):
pen right.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Unless you're supposed to let them present that.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, I would have thought so. All right, And lastly,
let's talk about Tory Lanez. As we know, he was
sentenced to ten years in prison last month. Well, according
to this exclusive, he would have gotten four years, but
he refused a plea deal. Previously, according to Vlad TV,
the district attorney offered a deal he would have spent
only four years behind bars. He turned that down and
(10:53):
instead decided to take the case to trial, and that
did not work out for him, so he would have
ended up getting so he could have got four years,
but he took up, he turned down to.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Right and took it to trial, and take it to trial.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Yeah, all right, Well that is your u T. And
when we come back, we have about last night. And
I was definitely out in these New York City streets
last night.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
It was you had I'm going to tell you about it.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
But I was actually at a dinner for an artist,
and then I was also at.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
A birthday party.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
It's a lot of birthdays.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
It's a lot of virgos in the buildings going on.
But you so mad that I went out.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
I'm just saying, I didn't you know. He was just
outside outside.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
I had my cape on ahead of time. It's way
up at Angela Yee about last night?
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Next, so about.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
Last night last night I went down.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
It's one of those days. It's way up at Angela Yee.
I'm Angela Yee. Mano is here?
Speaker 13 (11:46):
No man?
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, We're right on time with that drop.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Though, maybe right on time.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
And we were right on time with these Powerhouse tickets,
you know, during Way Up with Angela Yee. Powerhouse tickets
are on sale right now at power one fm dot com.
So make schall, y'all come out Saturday night, October twenty
eighth at the Potential Center. You can see Little Uzzi,
A Boggy Little Dirk, I, Spice, Lottla Burke, DJ Spinking
and friends. And you know it's gonna be a lot
of surprises, all right, And let's get into last night.
(12:14):
About last night, So first off, I went to a
dinner and the dinner was celebrating Visa Butler. Now you
all know if you listen to the show that I
always try to get into collecting art, right Well, Visa
Butler is an American fiber artist, and she actually has
a new genre of quilting where the quiltings look like paintings,
and so now that is catapulting that into the field
(12:37):
of fine art. So her work is in the permanent
collections at the Smithsonian, at the Art Institute of Chicago,
about a dozen other art museums, and they had a
dinner for her celebrating her.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Last night at Avra. Have you ever eaten at Ava Avra?
Speaker 2 (12:51):
Is you know one of my favorite restaurants is that
there's a few different locations the one I went to
and they actually are more than just in New York.
But the one that I went to with is on
sixtieth Street and Third Avenue in Manhattan. So anyway, shout
out to her. She and you know what I found
out yesterday and I did not know this before. This
high school I went to in New Jersey, Columbia High School.
She went there also. Yes, it's such a random thing.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Somebody else went to the high school too.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Lauren Hill, Lauren Hill, Jennifer Williams nice studied high school.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Says all of them.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
It's in Maplewood, but a lot of people who live
in South Orange and Maplewood go to this high school.
So I went there for two years. So shout out
to Visa Butler. And it's funny because her husband was
talking to me and he was like, look, we know
you collect some art because I've collected some, you know,
gotten some pieces, and I try to get into it
because art is really important in your home, you know,
just to have some amazing art. And at any price
(13:44):
point you can get an original, you can get a
print of, you know, of an original, whatever it is
that you need to do, but just picking the right
art that speaks to you and your home. He was like,
we got to make sure you get a visa butler.
She might be out of my price rage, but I'm
gonna work on it. Okay, we're working on it. But
shout out to you besa butler. Also to my girl
Ingrid who threw the dinner. She's launching her own wine. Yes,
(14:05):
and you know that's a huge deal because she stepped
out from working with different She worked with Duce, she
worked as a rock, she worked at Hennessy, and now
she stepped out.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
Exactly understands the game. So you told me she was
at she's at the wineries putting it together.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
She's in actually her wine is in South Africa, so
she's been spending a lot of time in South Africa
to put together this wine. It's been literally years and
now the wine just shipped out this morning, so we're
gonna be the first ones to try it up here
on Way Up a Hand today. Yeah, it takes a
little while because it has to go through customs, so
we'll have it in a couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
But shout out to my girl.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
You know, I best wines for her stepping out on
her own to do something huge. It's really scariest, really hard,
a lot of tears, a lot of setbacks, a lot
of spending your own money and all your savings to
go into something that's really a powerful thing. And so
it was just nice being in that room though, m absolutely.
And then I went to my guy h O his
(15:04):
birthday party, and so Jai Ru was there, you know, Jiu,
who's gonna take your place up here?
Speaker 1 (15:09):
Of course I don't want me here, but.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
You know who I ran into.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
There and birthday party?
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Yes, yes, shout out great guy Roxy was there, Roxy
diz Okay. So I had a nice conversation.
Speaker 5 (15:23):
I didn't know about that party though he didn't invite
you wow there.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
But the other person who I saw there, you know
Tony Shellman. So Tony Shellman I don't know, is a designer,
but he also started Anie, Mecca and Paris Clothing back
in the day. So if you remember Anie, you remember
Mecca all of that. So he actually is at Starter now.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
So that's it.
Speaker 2 (15:48):
So shout out to everybody who I saw last night,
y'all not on the outside like that, But it was
nice to go outside and make my rounds.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
And you know what else is about to happen?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Tell us a secret, all right, eight hundred ninety fifty's
a number. Call us up. Let us know about any
secret that you have to tell us. And don't forget
Cardi B is joining us today. I mean that's a
big deal because Bongos came out today. It's new music today.
But maybe you want to call us up right now
and tell us a secret. Mayo had a lot of
secrets behind the scenes. Is that all eight hundred nine
(16:19):
two fifty one fifty so did today?
Speaker 3 (16:21):
It's way up with Angela Ye. Keep drinking yo, this is.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
A judgment free zone. Tell us a secret.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Yes, it's excuse me, way up with Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee. And Mano is in the building.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
You know what, Navy, I love you man really.
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Now Navies are born up for real because you really
handled me the right way.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Now, Okay, it was a rough time before.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Now you you get your new Mayno drop.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
It's his responsibility to hit that drop every time. And
you know what, shout out to everybody on the way
up with you who's hitting us up on the Twitter?
I am marsh B said, I can't stand with Angela
ye and Mayno be getting lit on way up. I
beg and lit right with him. I've been feeling like
I'm there, and I'm gonna tell you.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Like this, here's that secret. We really are. That's a secret.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
But we want to hear your secrets, all right. And
I feel like Mano gets less judgmental the more he
has a little bit of litness to him. Eight agent
two nine fifty one fifty no judgment tell us a secret?
Speaker 3 (17:20):
Hello anonymus caller, how are you?
Speaker 13 (17:23):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (17:24):
What app you want to tell me? And Mano my
no judgment friend, Mano a secret?
Speaker 7 (17:29):
Yeah, I gotta buy a secret.
Speaker 13 (17:30):
So during the pandemic, my mama was engaged to his
lame old wacko. So he had this memory Cuban link
chain with his unte in it. I took it. I
threw it on the expressway and then then my siblings
spending his food.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
You did what but you took his chain through it
on the expressway and what and we we.
Speaker 13 (17:47):
Spinning this school. It was the Cuban link with like
the memory chain.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Oh it was.
Speaker 13 (17:52):
We had to bro Mano, you don't understand, Bro. He
was like, you don't understand. The pandemic was hard. He's
just trying to like me and my brother would have
beat him up.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
He was gonna put us in jail.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Okay, right, you can't do that. So you just wanted
to hit him in his pockets where hurt.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
But what was he doing that made you want to
do all this to him? Bro?
Speaker 13 (18:08):
May know anything you could think of like that my
mom go to work early. Like he's making all kinds
of noise, like it was on purpose, just to try
to get us a through salt. But we were smarter
than that.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
He was antagonizing y'all a lot.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
It was like it's like your stepfather, right it was.
Speaker 14 (18:26):
It was.
Speaker 8 (18:29):
Yeah, literally in.
Speaker 13 (18:30):
The pandemic, like bro like around may doing that like
was over?
Speaker 3 (18:34):
It was over.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
So did he ever suspect that y'all did that? Or
he just dot his chain was gone?
Speaker 13 (18:39):
He wasn't gonna say no. He was a low keyer peu.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
But what.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
For the kids?
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Listen? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (18:53):
Yeah, so I need you.
Speaker 13 (18:55):
To perform that verse from Stump one day.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
Okay, wow, okay, right, look at but what I'm saying
is that so you you never addressed him. You just
spinning his food and took his chain and threw it
on the freeway.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Yeah was it real?
Speaker 15 (19:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (20:45):
Yeah, we never did it again.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
She can get it again.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Oh my gosh, you're not.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Staying with your baby mom? No, right, no, okay, all right.
She must have been screaming and yelling or something.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
You probably got a couple of secrets to though.
Speaker 7 (21:01):
I don't know much. I'm gonna leave, all right.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Well it was college, all right, Well, thank you? Okay, foul,
I don't chut y'all. Hey, anonymous color, how.
Speaker 7 (21:11):
Are you good things?
Speaker 3 (21:13):
If you want to hear your secret.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Okay, you turn that music down, whatever you got going on,
pick the phone up.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
Let's hear your secret.
Speaker 6 (21:23):
Summer secret.
Speaker 14 (21:24):
Is that married?
Speaker 16 (21:26):
No, it's not.
Speaker 13 (21:27):
And no one knows.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
You're married, and no one knows. Why is it a secret?
Is it like I stay in the country type of thing.
Speaker 8 (21:34):
No, it's just I don't like people tell you.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
So when you go out, you don't wear your wedding ring.
She will people know?
Speaker 3 (21:44):
You know, it's not a secret. You married. You gotta know.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
They don't.
Speaker 13 (21:47):
So it's so you don't know who it is.
Speaker 8 (21:49):
You don't know.
Speaker 12 (21:50):
You don't know what it is.
Speaker 13 (21:51):
Like you know some of my family, but they don't know.
Speaker 15 (21:54):
We're married.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
So who are you married?
Speaker 6 (21:56):
Tom gonna tell y'all.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
But what Okay, So here's my question.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Do you feel like you'll ever let people know who
you're married to?
Speaker 3 (22:06):
And and what is the reason.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
My family mess a lot of people? Oh everybody, it is.
Speaker 12 (22:13):
My family is not like a traditional family.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
You think they wouldn't approve? Is that why they would?
Speaker 8 (22:20):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Okay, so it's somebody lick.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Yeah, okay, all right, but your secret is safe here.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Enjoy your marriage. All right.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
Well that was tell us a secret and another secret
leaked out and we're gonna talk about it in Yet,
there is this alleged track that Kenjack Lamar did that
some people feel like it's AI but it looks like
he's taking shots at Big Sean Ja Electronica and French Montana,
amongst others.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Yet next, it's way up.
Speaker 4 (22:49):
The lid off this spot.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Let's get it.
Speaker 3 (22:51):
Angela's feeling that yet, come and get your tea. What's up?
His way up? But Angela ye, I'm Angela yee, and.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
No man shout out to my Yellow Organics. By the way,
they have this new sea moss conditionery shampoo that you know.
I love me some sea moss. But I never had
it before in a conditionery shampoo. So really, yes, yep, absolutely,
I'll takes all right, Now, let's get into yee t.
Little Baby had a concert yesterday in Tennessee. This was
(23:20):
at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, and we want to
just give our prayers out. Somebody was shot and critically
injured during that concert. A little baby was whist off
the stage when bullets started flying on the first inside. Yes,
according to the news and so there's a video on
social media that's been going around. It shows paramedics lifting
(23:40):
a man onto a gurney and wheeling him away. There
was a lot of confusion as fans we're trying to
get out of the arena. So again, you know, hopefully
everybody is safe and hopefully this man survives this shooting.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
Okay, yes, all.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Right, now let's talk about this alleged leaked song.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
All right.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
This the original version of the twenty seventeen song Elements,
and they're saying that this is the Kendrick Lamar original verse. Now,
mind you, some people are also saying this could potentially
be AI. We don't know what it is, but here
is some direct mentions. It looks like some shots fired.
Speaker 17 (24:13):
Listen rich speaking know me and nof Jews very cynical.
Try hate something I do to proof, they try to silence.
It's on my drummy night. Another dad probably hope with
the God to give him life. Big shot. You sneak
this and I let it slide. I think it's costs coffid.
It's got them a spot. I can't make them respect you, baby,
It's not my job. You're finally famous for who you date,
(24:33):
not how you rhyme boy, cute ass raps. Get your
puberty up. They make you a classic gown before you
come at us drinking the milk beef, but got you
gassed up. But now my whole another beeft that really
helps you up?
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Oh spicy.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
I don't know, Kendrick, but we also don't know, like
we said, if this is real or alleged, because AI
is got people you never know no more, you never know.
But say, for instance of day Electronica has something about
to come out, this would be a nice teaser for it.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Navy think it's real. You think it's real? Right? Mayby?
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Don you think it's real? Okay? Well who knows?
Speaker 2 (25:08):
But I'm sure if it is real, people will respond okay,
all right. Designer is pleading guilty to indecent exposure and
according to TMZ hip Hop, they're saying that he is
scheduled to formally enter that plea today in court. So
he'll be getting two years probation in one hundred and
twenty hours of community service. He'll also have to pay
(25:29):
a five thousand dollar fine and also issue a public
apology to flight attendance for his behavior. This is all
because of indecent exposure. And he allegedly exposed himself multiple
times while on a Delta one cabin masturbating chicken on
the flight. Yes, on a plane on the way to Japan,
and they gave him. But you know, he did say
(25:52):
that he has not been okay and he was admitted
to a hospital. How do you get dealing with mental
health struggles? And I will say, even when we had
on the Breakfast club did this whole fund raising right Radiothon,
he did donate money and talk about his own mental
health struggles during that time. So this is not anything
(26:14):
that he's making up right now. He's been said that
he's had issues with his mental health and apparently he
had some meds and went on a plane home. He said,
I am ashamed of my actions that happened on that plane.
And I've heard people talk about reactions to medication that
has to do with mental health and or do things
that you have no idea you did, no for real
(26:37):
and so you know, hopefully, I mean, he is taking
responsibility for what he did and he is going to
be not facing any jail time.
Speaker 3 (26:46):
But yeah, so that's what's going to happen.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
So we'll follow up with that because he's in court today,
all right, And Jimmy Fallon has apologized to Tonight Show staff.
Tonight Show staffers, they were saying that there's a toxic
workplace there. He said, I feel so bad that after
this expos broke where they said he has erratic behavior.
They said it's a toxic environment that he fostered. He
(27:08):
did say that it's embarrassing and I feel so bad.
Sorry if I embarrassed you and your family and friends,
I feel so bad. I can't even tell you. So
he said that during a meeting and employees said that
it felt pretty earnest, and that's how you handle things
if you feel like you know what the environment in
this workplace. I made a mistake I was wrong. I
didn't realize. Apologize, own it, and let's see how we
(27:28):
can fix things moving for it accountability, he said, I
want the show to be fun. It should be inclusive
to everybody. It should be the best show because people
can get defensive when told that they created an environment
that's not beneficial to everybody. And so the fact that
he's owning it and hopefully making things better is a
positive or right and that is your yet and when
we come back, we have under the radar. These are
the stories that are not necessarily in the headlines. They
(27:51):
are flying under the radar. It's way up with Angelie.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
I got news this.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
In the news that relates to you. These stories are
flying under the radar.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
What's up? Its way up at Angela yee, I'm Angela Yee.
And Mano is here? No Mana, you ready to go
under the radar? Mano?
Speaker 1 (28:07):
I love it all right.
Speaker 2 (28:08):
But first shout out to everybody listening who wants to
get those Powerhouse tickets there on sale now, this is
day one. They've only been on sale for about an
hour and a half. You can go to power one
O five wonfm dot com so you can see little
Uzzy a buggy, Little Dirk, I Spice, lot Lebrook, DJ
Spinking and friends. It all goes down Saturday, October twenty
eighth at the Prudential Center, So make sure y'all call
(28:30):
us up, or you can go to Power one five
ONFM dot com because I know we also giving away tickets, right,
you know how we do? All right, Now, let's go
under the radar. This Instagram influencer. I've been following her story,
Danielle Miller is her name. She got these COVID loans
and she used that money for a private jets, luxury apartments,
all of those things. She got sentenced to five years
(28:50):
in prison yesterday.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
She went hard though.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Yes, she got more than one million dollars in pandemic
related loans. So for people who think they got away
with it, they still coming for y'all, all right. She
used the stolen identities of more than ten people to
get these loans, and she used that money for all
of these luxuries that she was doing. And she also
has three years of supervised release after that five years
in prison. She also has to pay restitution and that
(29:16):
price is going to be determined.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Layer her name is.
Speaker 2 (29:19):
Danielle Miller she's only thirty two years old, but she
was an influencer on Instagram.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
And she was living that high life. She's not mad,
they said.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
She is not an influencer. She is a convicted felon.
So here, let me show you her picture just so
you can see who she is, right, all right, And
speaking of money, four million people have enrolled in President
Joe Biden's Save student loan repayment plan. Ahead of that payment,
it's gonna, you know, people have to start their student
loans again in October after that pandemic related pause.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
Let's give all those right, just do away with that.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Well, the majority of people who are already enrolled and
saved were previously enrolled in a different re payment plan.
It was called the pay as you earn, so that
automatically got transferred over to the Save program. But you
can go and join that, and so it's a lot
of different things going on with it.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
But one thing I can tell.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
You is if you make less than thirty two eight
hundred dollars a year, your payments will be set at
zero if you're enrolled in.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Safe, right, So if you make thirty three thousand.
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Yeah you can well, yeah, you still got to solo,
but also under save unpaid interest will not accrue if
you make a full monthly payment. So for instance, if
your balance, if you pay, if it's fifty dollars, right,
and say you have a thirty dollar payment, but it's
twenty dollars, that's interest. That interest will not be charged
if you pay, you know, but you're supposed to pay
for the for the actual payment. Yeah, exactly, So that's good.
(30:46):
Like they're trying to work on these student loans. I
know people are watching what's happening in Congress and thinking that,
you know, the president doesn't care or whatever who's in
office doesn't care. But they are trying to get things done.
It's just hard when it gets blocked, all right. And
King Lee has exploded into a Category five storm as
it's approaching the Caribbean. They're saying that life threatening surf
(31:08):
is expected to impact the US Virgin Islands, the British
Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Pamas, Bermuda.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
I'm from the US Virgin Islands.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
I know where are you from?
Speaker 2 (31:18):
Saint Thomas and Saint Croix and Saint Croix and shout
out to everybody in Anguila, Saint Martin I was just
there last week, so we are praying for you guys.
They said the storm's winds could increase even further in
the coming days. Big waves, a lot of issues. Weighs
between ten and fifteen feet, so they don't want to
see anybody on the beaches. It is the twelfth named
storm of the Atlanta Hurricane season. Hurricane season is from
(31:40):
June first to November thirtieth, by the way, and the
peak is this month in September.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
All right, well that is your yet.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
I know people's flights were getting canceled and delayed yesterday,
so if you're traveling, just make sure you pay attention
to what's going on. Today's also a big day up
here because Cardi b Is about to join us on
Way Up with Angela.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
Yee, yes, I know.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
She's been doing a ton of press, okay, so we
try to make.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Sure there ain't no press like the Way Up Press.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Way Up Press, Baby.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
Also the Way Up Mix ain't no mix like the
Way Up mix that's coming at the top of the hour.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
It's a Friday, so you know how we party on
a Friday.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
We do.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
You gotta finish that shot, you know what shot, the
one in.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Your It's not a shot. It was a drink.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
Okay, finish your drink. It's way up with Angela yee.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Let's go, it says in the rooms from industry shade
to all of gods out send.
Speaker 3 (32:29):
Angela's speeling that yet what's up? Its way up with
Angela yee. I'm Angela yee. And Mana is here.
Speaker 2 (32:37):
Man no, Mana, you got us doing too much today.
Baby I started, I told you, don't start me. Well,
let's get into some yet, let's talk about little YACHTI now.
On his latest episode of A Safe Place podcast, he
talked about how Drake has been struggling to make love
songs like he used to.
Speaker 3 (32:53):
And I feel like Drake is known for his love songs.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Right right, yeah for sure, and also his songs where
he's like, look could do better. Women like those songs,
especially when we're going through something. But anyway, here's what
he had to say.
Speaker 18 (33:06):
You know, and I think when he makes music is
for him is a lot of times it's just true journaling.
Like one time I asked him, you know, I said
something like, man, why don't you make songs like you
used to? Like I was like, why don't you make
like love songs, and I think he explained to me
how it's hard for him to make music about things
that he isn't dealing with.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Woo, I guess he's not in love right?
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Oh? Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
I'm trying to think, what's the love song you ever?
Did you know?
Speaker 1 (33:35):
That could be? Us coined that phrase?
Speaker 3 (33:37):
That could be a while ago?
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Yeah, that could.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Be how long? What year was that?
Speaker 1 (33:41):
That was a long time ago. I was all inspired
by somebody with green eyes at that time.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
Hmmm green eyes.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Yeah, you'll never know.
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Okay, so let's move on. Let's talk about Nicki Minat.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
She is gonna be em seeing and performing at the
twenty twenty three MTV Video Music Awards. A just announced that.
You know, last year she emptied the show with ellll
cool J and Jack Carlow. She also performed a nine
song medley and that was before she got the Video
Vanguard Award. This year, she is going to be emptying solo,
also performing her new single Last Time I Saw You.
(34:17):
And she also announced that she's going to be going
on tour this big, big, Big Oh and I'm going
on tour next year.
Speaker 14 (34:26):
So the album will drop this year at the fourth
quarter and then we will be giving you guys a
tour information and then I'll be going on tour I
think first quarter of next year.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
All right, big things poppen right, absolutely, all right, and
I know that, so I know the barbs are excited.
Elon Musk he has a biography coming out and that
has shot already to the top of the best seller
list ahead of its release, and so that is going
to be released actually really soon next week on.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
September twelfth, drop right.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
So, for two years, best selling author and historian Walter
Isaacson followed Elon Musk through his space x and Tesla factories,
his board meetings, spent hours interviewing him, his friends, his family,
co workers, people that don't like him.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
And so now he's going to be.
Speaker 2 (35:15):
Doing this book and so it's called Elon Musk and
you can actually pre order that right now, all right now.
Derek Rose's wife has shared a video of him playing
chess while at the Drake concert. If you had a
chance to see this on his phone, I'm gonna show
you the video, she said. When I make my husband
come outside, and as you can see, he's just sitting
(35:36):
there playing chests. I believe he also just recently got married,
because I saw people on Twitter talking about his wedding
as well.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Yeah, his Elena is her name?
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Kids, kids, mother?
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Do they have kids together? I know, yeah, I know
he has a son, but that's not with her. But
you know, he's doing a great co parenting job. And
his ex also shows up. We were actually just talking
about your wedding.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Made no funny.
Speaker 2 (36:02):
You should say that. You said you cannot wait to
get married to myself.
Speaker 5 (36:07):
I have the ceremony and everything, So what does that
entail me standing up there just shining a light on myself.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
Okay, nobody give may or any more to drink. This
is it. I can't right now.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
This is too much, all right, And you know what,
Let's bring it back one more time to the BT
Hip Hop Awards because the twenty twenty three nominees have
been announced.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Twenty one.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Savage and Cardi B lead the nominations with twelve nominations.
Apiece and then Drake has nine, DJ Khaled and Burna
Boy have seven. Now, earlier we talked about some of
the some of the nominees and some of the categories.
Let's talk about this one. Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist
of the year. All right, now I'm gonna tell you
who's nominated, and now that you had a little bit
(36:52):
to drink, I want to see who you think could win.
All right, Armani White, Central, c Dochi Finest two times,
I spice Callie Lolabrook and Sexy Red Lola brook.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yes, we love one the time for the home.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
Team, Brooklyn's own. You know what I'm saying. Sexy Red
had a phenomenal year.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
I want to say though, what I noticed about this
list three four five out of the how many nominees
two four six out of the eight nominees are women.
And we were talking off the mic about women and
how they are killing it right now, and here they're
coming with these hard songs that okay, okay, well that
(37:31):
is your EyeT. And it's also a Friday, so we
have new music Friday.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
And like we said, the women are running things right now.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
So we're going to talk about some new music that's
coming out today that I know you guys are going
to be bopping to all today, all over the weekend. Also,
don't forget that new season The Top Boy is out
today too.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
It's way up with Angela.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Yee yeahs you back at it.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
Angela is on What's Up.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
It's way up for Angela Yee, Angela Yee, and Curtie.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
V is here Hey making the rounds.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
First of all, I do want to commend you for
the fact that you are working so hard. Like I
know you have this single with Meganistallion, but you have
been like really doing the rounds and people don't understand
that is a lot of work.
Speaker 14 (38:15):
Yeah, I've been working, but it's like to me, it's
like it's not as hard, like cause I know how
how I was going crazy in twenty eighteen, so those
seventeen wire work, but I'm back in that mode, and
it's like it's almost kind of like making me sad
because it's like I just got into like this home
mom mode that is like okay, like I go to
(38:36):
the studio every night, but like in the day, I'm
with my kids, and now it's just like now I know,
it's like just work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, work,
work work.
Speaker 2 (38:43):
So are your kids good with facetiming you when you're
not there or do they like do they care about
looking at the phone?
Speaker 14 (38:49):
My kids want me just there, Okay, especially my daughter,
she's like really like, oh my hip, Like especially now
she be talking, she'd be like letting me know.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
Does she go to school or she homeschool? No?
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Okay, So I wanted to ask you about that because
it is back to school time. So what was that, like,
you know, and how hard was it the first time
you had to drop her off at school and be
like all concerned as a mom.
Speaker 14 (39:10):
I was crying, for sure. But let me tell you something.
I just literally cried. It was last week on Thursday, right,
my daughter she graduated from pre K and I was
supposed to like, you know, like put her like in
this new school. But I missed the deadline and I
was stuck in La working on rehearsal for the song
(39:31):
Bungles and all these other projects that I got coming up.
So I missed the deadline and I didn't even know
that you were supposed to apply like in January.
Speaker 15 (39:39):
Like it's like how am I, Like I'm youtubis, like
come on now.
Speaker 14 (39:43):
So I was calling and like they didn't even care,
like there was just like, yeah, no, she can't get
it whatever. But the president of my label knows somebody
that Like that's what it's crazy, Like it really takes
a village, like thank God, like and it's like she
helped me get an appointment for the school. When I
(40:06):
went to the school, I started crying because it's like wow,
like this is not like the little pre k thing
that she was in.
Speaker 15 (40:11):
She's not really in the school. And I was just crying.
Speaker 2 (40:14):
How was she did she was she able to like
run off and play or was she scared? You know
sometimes when kids be like scared, it makes you feel
really bad.
Speaker 15 (40:21):
Yeah, She's like, Mommy, I'm ready to go to my
new school.
Speaker 2 (40:23):
Now let's get into the song Bongos. And I know
you've been talking about this song non stop.
Speaker 15 (40:29):
Yo, you have my fans. Let me tell you rout
And I'm like, oh my gosh, they really think that
there is a Spanish song.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
I said a little bit of Spanish.
Speaker 15 (40:39):
I said, oh, they think that.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
I'm you know, okay, And I want to tell you this.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
So we got this song yesterday, right and Mana was
here yesterday, so you know, we listened to it just
in here and then we went on the air and
I was like, I don't want to say too much.
I said, she did through a little Spanish, you know,
and there, which I like, and that was it And
I didn't realize saying a little something like that will
go as crazy as it did.
Speaker 14 (41:01):
Yes, And I'm like, you know, understand it that she
said a little Spanish like it's like she just said
like a little Spanish one and everybody is like, oh
my gosh, this is a Spanish song, Like what?
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Sorry?
Speaker 17 (41:14):
But I like it.
Speaker 14 (41:15):
But I like it though, because they're gonna be like surprised.
So it's like, I got again.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
You're doing a lot of tricks with this one.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
And one thing is you put in Megan thee Stallion
here because clearly y'all have a good relationship and she
does trust you and you trust her. It's a mutual thing,
you know, in this business. So is it a situation
where you hit her up directly and was like I
want you on the song or is it go through
the channels? No?
Speaker 14 (41:36):
I went through the channels because like it's like, I
know like that she been like taking care of herself
and I know she's been going through a lot.
Speaker 15 (41:42):
And then on top of that, I'm also shy.
Speaker 14 (41:43):
And everything, so I'll be shy to ask people for stuff.
So it's like, hey, you like this song, let's do
another number?
Speaker 3 (41:50):
One, it's.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
So all right, and so so you went through those
channels and then did she agree right away or did
she have to hear.
Speaker 3 (41:57):
The song first?
Speaker 14 (41:58):
She said her verse right away like in five four days,
And it's like that even like boosted like a confident
because it's like I respect her as an artist and
I respect her ear. So if you're sending me back
a verse that fast, that means that you really.
Speaker 15 (42:13):
Like the song.
Speaker 14 (42:13):
Yeah, And like I didn't even tell you what I
was thinking in my head and you automatically did it,
and it's like we go.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
So I wanted to ask you that since you say that,
do you doubt yourself still?
Speaker 3 (42:23):
Sometimes? Yes?
Speaker 14 (42:24):
Yeah, yeah, because I did feel like I don't know
what people want nowadays, Like I just don't know what
people want nowadays. So it's just like a little bit
like hard So it's like, damn, do they want this?
Do they want that?
Speaker 2 (42:34):
Like I will say though, this song is gonna be
amazing in the club, It's gonna be amazing on TikTok,
you know what else?
Speaker 3 (42:41):
I love to So you've been doing features.
Speaker 2 (42:43):
You said you're not gonna do no more features until
your album comes out, right, are you still sticking.
Speaker 14 (42:47):
With that that that's gonna be a little bit hard
for me because there is songs that like people have
been sending me that I like. What I really wanted
to say is because I was just doing features. Like
I really wanted to say, is like, my next song
is gonna be my song. I'm not gonna be a
feature on somebody else song. That's what I was really like, Trum.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
Because you be talking so much in your verses, but
I like that, like when you did Jealousy, of course
you know you went upset with jealousy.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
You'd be saying, and I'm like, I know she beats.
Speaker 2 (43:14):
With people, and like people talk crazy and you just
be like, I'm gonna just put it in a song,
And that is I think the best way to address people,
like put it in your music.
Speaker 14 (43:23):
I be wanting to address people in my music, but
also I just sometimes just want to like get it
off my chest, like right there and then because I
don't always want to dress people in my music because
sometimes I want to make fun music and it's like
I don't want to make my song about like.
Speaker 15 (43:39):
I'm gonna address this.
Speaker 14 (43:40):
I'm addressed this, And it's like now I sound like
I have beef in every single song, and it's like,
I'm not gonna ruin that, and I'm not gonna do
that to my fans or because I don't like you.
So it's like sometimes it's like I'm gonna just get
this out of the way, address this girl right here,
because I'm not gonna get on a song with I
don't know, Like let's say, if I get a song
with a pop artist, I'm not going to be like.
Speaker 2 (44:01):
Yeah, you know, like one line. You know, it'd be
like one line even on this song, like when we
talk about Dusty the limp Brush, that ain't about nobody
you know specific.
Speaker 15 (44:13):
That ain't about nobody specific.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
That's the that we all could relate to, because sometimes
we all feel like that. And I already know. I'm like, okay,
when this song come out, I already know what Instagram
story I'm putting up, which part of the song I'm
putting with it.
Speaker 14 (44:23):
So and I feel like we said that like Dusty
as New York will say, that's very like you, Dusty.
Speaker 2 (44:30):
Yeah all right, it's the way yup. Butty Angela Ye,
Cardi B is here. We have more with her when
we come back. It's the way up at the Angela Yee.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
Yeah, she's back at it.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
Bring Bring in the way Up with Angelae is on
What's Up? Its way up at the Angela Yee, And
it's a big day.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Cardi B's new single feature in Megan the Stallion Bongos
is out today and Cardi B Is here with me.
I've seen you said that your son is a lot
wilder than your daughter. Yes, why do you think that is?
Speaker 19 (44:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 15 (44:58):
I think he was just born like that. I always
knew I was gonna have something like that.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
And it's like boom, here you go, And isn't that fun?
Speaker 15 (45:04):
It is fun? It is fun. It is fun.
Speaker 14 (45:06):
I was always scared that. I was just like I'm
scared to have a boy. But it's like he's so fun.
One thing for sure is like he like like he's
obsessed with me. Oh, he is obsessed with me?
Speaker 2 (45:16):
And then is your daughter more obsessed with offset? Because
they usually say daddy's little girl?
Speaker 15 (45:20):
Oh, she's like a daddy's little girl.
Speaker 14 (45:22):
She's like really like always want to like fake impress him,
like because when you put like something, she's like, call
my daddy and she'd be like, Daddy, I really love you.
Speaker 3 (45:31):
So much girl, she's trying to get some stuff now.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
He also said this in the interview up here, that
you're like a pit bull at the mouth when y'all
get into it. But from what he said, like you
fiercely also protect him. And I think from that interview
a lot of people were like, Okay, he loved her
so much, like he don't play about you. And when
you did lip service, you said that you don't really apologize,
like you just be and people were mad about that,
like you could be sorry, know you're wrong, but you're
(45:57):
not going to say it all right? Since then have
you been like sorry, I was wrong.
Speaker 14 (46:04):
I can't apologize if I'm not wrong, but okay, what
if you are? I have apologized, Okay, you know what
I apologized for.
Speaker 15 (46:12):
Just the other day.
Speaker 14 (46:13):
I got dragged down for this and I'm like, oh
my gosh, like what is.
Speaker 15 (46:17):
What's going on?
Speaker 14 (46:18):
So I saw a pretty picture of me right when
I was a stripper, right and I posted and I'm
like in my head, I'm singing it like the fifty
cent melody I've said and if I was in the
ship club, which will still cook me, Like I'm saying
it like this I'm saying it like that. And when
I posted.
Speaker 15 (46:36):
It, like people was like, why would you ask that
question where you're married? And I'm like, are you out
of contact? I wasn't even trying to like say it
like that. That's not how I said it in my head.
Speaker 14 (46:47):
So I was like, I'm sorry, because like everybody was
just tagging him like, oh, look at it look like
and it's.
Speaker 3 (46:52):
Like the power of Cardy. You don't even know your
own power.
Speaker 2 (46:55):
So what's the craziest paparazzi situation you've ever been in?
Because people don't understand, like you can't go anywhere or
do anything without a potential picture being taken.
Speaker 3 (47:03):
We saw Kanye and his and his.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
Wife in Venice, But have you had like a crazy
paparazzi situation where you're like, damn, how did hell did
they find me here?
Speaker 12 (47:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (47:13):
When when I was shooting, I like it, and I
was pregnant and stuff, and like paparazzi was putting videos
in my stomach was kind of like, you know, kind
of big, like that pissed me off, or like this
one time, like there was literally chasing me down the
highway here in New York and it's like I was
going to my grandma's house and it's like, you're not
gonna get my grandma and y'all better leave me the
slow and I started like it was.
Speaker 2 (47:34):
It's a violation. He said, your grandma. I just thought
about that. I missed my granny.
Speaker 3 (47:39):
Yes you did. Hilarious. That was an ultimate troll right there.
Speaker 14 (47:44):
I don't want I always tell him, like why don't
you tell people what happened?
Speaker 15 (47:48):
Like, why don't you tell people what happened?
Speaker 14 (47:49):
So that week was like the I don't know if
it was that day the birthday of his grandma, and
I guess he put that, but like you know, it
was going, yeah, right, we was gonna do some said
that and it's like it's like bad timing, like bro
bad timing.
Speaker 15 (48:07):
But now we just see that it's like so funny, Like.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
It's like it's good that you could laugh at things
like that.
Speaker 2 (48:12):
Yeah, because I know things could get frustrating because when
I spoke to him and before we did it, and
he was so like mad about just people talking ish
and like making things up, and I know that's frustrating
because you can't you don't want to have to defend
yourself against every little thing, but at the same time,
it's like, no, that's not what happened. I really want
to tell it, but I also don't want to be
like overly defending myself.
Speaker 14 (48:31):
Yeah, it's just annoying because it's like he always be
out the way.
Speaker 15 (48:36):
When people don't like me, the.
Speaker 14 (48:38):
First thing they like to do is attack me and
my mens, like all the time. Like it's like a
girl can't even say nothing else but she will attack
me and my mens. And if they don't have nothing,
they will make something up. And then it's like people
will be like, oh, like, you don't have to prove it,
but it's like if we don't prove it, y'all continue
to believe it, and they're like when we prove it
(48:59):
to y'all, and then when we make a song, it's like, oh,
it wasn't that serious. Yes, it was serious, right, that's
why we even put out like the Jealousy recular. We
wasn't even we've been to that song. We wasn't even
really planning to drop it. But it's like, yo, let's
tell these people. Yeah, like I said, y'all want y'all
think y'all can make money off of us? Ya think
y'all gonna find cloud off of us all. We're gonna
we're gonna make something out of it.
Speaker 17 (49:19):
Now.
Speaker 2 (49:19):
Look, and I love that song and you really slid
on that though. Yeah, like that was a nice, good
passionate as verse that you said on air.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
I have to say, all right, well, Cardi B is here.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
Normally we would have asked ye when we come back,
but you know, we had to bump that because my
girl Cardi B is Here's way up with Angela Ye?
Speaker 3 (49:39):
You a way up with Angela Ye? What's up? It's
way up with Angela yee. And it's a big day.
Speaker 2 (49:45):
Carti B's new single feature in Megan and Stallion Bongos
is out today and Carti B is here with me.
So talk about the video because I have not had
a chance. I haven't seen that yet. So it's the
video coming at the same time as Okay, So what
was the process?
Speaker 3 (49:58):
Like you said, you.
Speaker 2 (49:58):
Spent a lot of money on the video, and a
lot of people nowadays aren't doing that. And I remember
back in the day, people used to spend millions, like
a million dollars on a video.
Speaker 3 (50:06):
So what's a lot of money on a video? This one?
Speaker 15 (50:09):
I think it is like two million.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
Dollars woo, and I want to say, no one does
that anymore.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
So that's how I know this means a lot to
you to invest back into to what it is you're
trying to do.
Speaker 3 (50:20):
So what quest like, tell me what the theme of
this video is?
Speaker 15 (50:24):
All of that, it gives like the theme of the song.
Speaker 14 (50:27):
So it's like really that, But I feel like this
video is just very beautiful, Like it's a location video,
so I always do like inside production, so this is
more like a location video and just like really the.
Speaker 15 (50:41):
Little things where was it?
Speaker 14 (50:44):
It wasn't Malleable, So I really wanted to do this
video like in a different country, but I couldn't because
of hurricane season. So Malleible it always have paparazzis and everything.
So we hired about like what twenty guards, fifteen guards,
like just guarding the whole area, and we did what
was that thing called?
Speaker 15 (51:02):
It was like geo fencing.
Speaker 14 (51:04):
That is just like everything like is around that area,
Like if somebody take a picture, what.
Speaker 3 (51:09):
I never heard of this?
Speaker 15 (51:10):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Yes, so all right, So we posted social opings and
then you get to remove it or it just won't
even post at all.
Speaker 15 (51:17):
I mean it'll you'll know who it is.
Speaker 3 (51:20):
Somebody lost their job.
Speaker 14 (51:21):
Yeah, so so stuff like that costs a lot of money.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
And it is the fiftieth anniversary of hip hop.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
I'm want to ask you, since we're talking about hip
hop growing up, what hip hop song would you say
was really impactful in your life? Like I think about
me growing up and listening to Salt and Pepper and
how big they were for me, and like a song
like Push it was huge. But for you, as a
little Cardi B growing up in the Bronx, what was
like your most impactful hip hop song that you could
think of?
Speaker 14 (51:49):
And so many different ones that remind me of like
different things, like you know what I'm saying. Like for example,
like the first song that like it made me like
just get into hip hop a lot was always like Missilli,
like pre con and everything.
Speaker 15 (52:01):
But that because I'm six years.
Speaker 14 (52:02):
Old and I'm looking at this song, I'm like this
girl taking her head off, Like it's like I want
to I want to see this, I want to see that.
But then there's just like other type of songs that
it's just like when I hear it, it just reminds
me of certain things, like like they don't know, because
that reminds me of like like like my uncle always
like playing it, playing and playing it, and that song
(52:24):
used to scare me for some reason, like that song
is a little scary.
Speaker 3 (52:27):
It's supposed to be.
Speaker 15 (52:28):
Yeah, like and I'm a little girl.
Speaker 14 (52:29):
So it's like that song always like bring me like
certain type of memories. Those songs are like when I'm
like a little girl, like a lot of little wing songs.
It's like that's part of like now I'm like a
high school teenage girl. Every single time I here, I'm millionaire.
Like it's like it's just it's like different type of
songs of like your life that it's like, oh, this
reminds me of when I was here. When I was
(52:51):
there and for some reason, like when I was in
high school, I used to really be into like Trina
Okay kaya jack yo, Like they had like their little
beef going on, and I know all the songs that
they were like throwing shots each other.
Speaker 15 (53:07):
I know all their songs.
Speaker 2 (53:08):
Okay, that's dope, though, said if they would have had
social media back then, they would have been on.
Speaker 15 (53:12):
It would have been so funny.
Speaker 14 (53:14):
It would have been so funny because the way the
things that they were saying to each other.
Speaker 15 (53:17):
It was just like it's funny, it's funny.
Speaker 2 (53:20):
Well, Cardi, I want to thank you so much, and
just think about this later on people are going to
be and they already do, like the younger younger younger,
they're going to be thinking about.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
You is like part of hip hop history.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
Yeah, you know, and that's a huge thing because you've
had so many successes already, and like your biggest competition
is really just yourself. Like I see you breaking records
on the charts, and then they're like Carti's breaking her
own record. I like it is now less than one
hundred million streams from surpassing Bodack Yellow as the most
stream song by a female rapper in US history, both
by Cardi b That is a huge deal and that's history.
(53:52):
And that's like the congratulations and congratulations on the whip
shots too. By the way, you know, I'd be using
that in my coffee. And y'all got the new pumpkin spice.
Speaker 15 (54:00):
Is really like this one is like the coffee coffe
for real, for real. I like this one. I love it.
Speaker 3 (54:05):
Yeah, you know, I had some whipshots with Cardi.
Speaker 15 (54:09):
I'm going see something.
Speaker 2 (54:10):
Well, thank you so much for congratulations, and I cannot
wait for the new album Top of the Year.
Speaker 3 (54:15):
Yes, okay, yes, yeah.
Speaker 15 (54:16):
Sure I have I want to Okay, that's my goal.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
All right?
Speaker 2 (54:21):
Well perfect what Bongos is out? So make sure y'all
stream that downloaded, watch the video. I cannot wait to
see the video my damn self. But congratulations again. Y'all

He wanted to bring a cake. That's very sweet.
Speaker 1 (55:44):

he got something.

Speaker 19 (56:58):
Shout out the main old Hey.
Speaker 12 (57:01):
Angela, yee, congratulations on your new radio station. I just
want to say that first and fore mars. But I
want to shine the light on my husband. He's all
the way out in Minnesota, working hard, and I'm out
here in Vegas working even harder, and we just trying
to get our business off the ground. And I just
wanted to shine the light on him. Today's Friday. My
kids at school, and I hope they have a wonderful day.
(57:24):
And my daughter has a selling test second grade.
Speaker 16 (57:26):
Hope she ate it.
Speaker 12 (57:28):
If she do, she gets ten dollars coming. So I
want to shine the light on hur and mine. Tell
your fighting Lee. I love you guys, think y'all are listening,
Love you, Angela, love you may know, let's go.
Speaker 8 (57:39):
I met this girl and we've been going straw off
like four or five months, man, and you know, I've
been hanging out with her and everything, and she wants
me to come meet her family, which is cool. She
showed me a picture of her mom, her mom's singles.
So I saw the picture and I saw the mom.
I slept with the mom.
Speaker 16 (57:59):
Like three or four time, probably like a year ago.
And I'm going to meet her family next week. And
I just don't know how to come clean about that, man,
Like I.
Speaker 8 (58:10):
